"The most pressure in tonight's NBA play-offs, Kyle Lowry, the nuggets or Russell Westbrook. I put my vote in for Kyle lower. And he is right now. Winning fifty one percent. Russell Westbrook coming in at twenty six the nuggets at twenty three. I wonder why the nuggets a team who at times were even in the first spot in the west this season are not getting the same sort of urgency from fans as the other two guys because we don't believe you. You you need more people as as e one set the nuggets are a really nice team to have fun with during the regular season. But like we talked about last week. They got nobody on that team. That's playoff proven. And after the altitude, you know, subsides and you've been there for a day or so a couple of days. It doesn't hit you like as if you just touched down the night before the way the regular season would so yeah, the San Antonio Spurs are prime for beating the nuggets. I don't think the nuggets have as much pressure on him as the other two options. Russell Westbrook crusher coming from expectations. You're saying. Yeah. Exactly. Because we never believed that they were as good as their record said. Then if they don't live up to it. None of us will bag on this. We'll be like, well, yeah, you're the nuggets we didn't think you would do with Alex English and Dennis away walking through that door. So I'm cool on a nugget. But this Kyle Lowry thing this is now after a year of being upset that is, you know, his his buddy is, bro. Dhamar Rosen was traded, and you know, grumbling a little bit. But trying to keep a good. Face. He played like an all star level point guard at times. But this is the problem you get to this point in the season. And this is why I think Masai Jerry had his name dancing in the in the heads of GM's. And then all of them were like, nah, we'll take tomorrow to rose in file he went to the San Antonio Spurs. Kyle Lowry played himself a decent all around game. But he couldn't put the ball in the hole. And that's the problem. You have to be able to score at the point guard position where they're not touching you on the perimeter the freedom of movement in the NBA on the perimeter. And how guys get mugged on the post is something that I think the NBA rules committee is going to have to look at emphasize here pretty soon, but you can't go scoreless against DJ Augustine shut out to DJ and the Augustine family. If you listen, it's no shape to him journeyman terrific free throw shooter. And he put it all Lowry that that's the match up you have to win. And if there's is going to be quite limited, and hitting, you know, pull up step back fadeaway jump shots Koby Bryant detailed in in his detail segment, which was beautifully done. Then Kyle Lowry has to. Be something other than what we expect Kyle Lowry to be which is a tough, dude, but comes up small in too, many playoff instances, well and the problem with the raptors and their stars is that because of the history of getting upset by LeBron and the Cavs. They all have a reputation, right? We call them demar regular season. Right. And now you've not Paul Pierce is coming and flat out saying Kyle Lowry is a regular season player after we scored zero points in that game one against the magic. Now, he's got a chance here to redeem himself. He had some moments of that game where he was very effective in terms of rebounds, and assists. Just couldn't score to save his life and tonight's going to be I think everyone seems to be for the most part on the same page that he's the one who has the most pressure on Russell Westbrook has proved himself, despite of course, still wanted to put more playoff accolades on his resume, but Lowery is the one NBA playoffs are on ESPN radio. Tune in tonight as Westbrook and the thunder. Visit the blazers presented by indeed coverage begins at ten pm eastern on most ESPN radio stations. You can still go vote on that pull updated a little later coming up. How much pressure are the nuggets feeling even if we aren't giving them edge expectation will they be we'll get you set for game two of their series against the Spurs next.

"So if they have. To stay in contention. That's great. But I think the better news. If you're a mariner Senate as you get to try out these young guys and see what they're capable of doing doing. How do you feel about the economics baseball right now where their bunch of young players who seemingly have taken under market contracts for the near future just to assure themselves money? Now, you gotta Ozzy Albee's. You've got Ronald kunia junior. Got low Jimenez is this a good thing for baseball or the optics. Just what they need to be. I mean, I don't like it at all. Because it's a situation where there's an asymmetric going on teams are committed to one goal and one goal only which is to suppress wages as much as possible, quite frankly. I mean, they want is all you. Right. It's money on he used to glorify this stuff. But I think we're coming around to the idea that athletes deserve their fair share when might try and sign for four hundred thirty million dollars. My first reaction was Mike trout remains severely underpaid. Because. But wind up over placement. He should probably be making about ninety million dollars a year. And that's not even county is all sealed value, which is tremendous. And the same thing goes every sport Russ, listen decide for thirty five million dollars a year. I listened for three or four Winston this team. If not more by himself, never mind, anybody on the line or anybody else athlete. You're just hysterically underpaid in every single sport. There would be no sports with athletes. There would be lots of other rich white guys who can buy teams. That's I'm not buying that though the symmetry to knee remains the players are underpaid. And when you have like it'll be it's a delicate situation because he came in with a low signing bonus families, not a family of means making those difficult situations with family members is still in Venezuela. I could be the case if he was from Iowa to it happens at these Venezuela, and you've just got a tough spot there where he he's willing to accept the below market contract and be done with it much like friend..

"But if the kids are going to deal with these injuries for this long, and they're sitting what five six games off the pace aim with Boston. The other got some work to do because Tampa Bay's a legitimate team the team with the most wins in all of baseball. Since the all-star break at twenty eighteen is the Tampa Bay rays more than any other team more than the World Series champion Red Sox more than Houston more than anybody not going to be a pushover. So we'll see what happens, but it's possible that the Yankees are ready might be setting themselves up for wildcard situation rather than winning the division. Along with the Yankees and Red Sox. The cubs have struggled out the gate, obviously, different reasons for those three teams struggles which team do you think this start is more of an indicator of what they will be throughout this season. I'd have to Enke's because the cut him socks. Just don't have those injuries insurance. You talking about the cubs. They do weaknesses. I mean, you can't just paper over them. The pitching is definitely concerned. You darvish. I I, you know, I don't want to step in the box Darvish I feel like he's Ricky Vaughn for major league right now. Yeah. Every. So there's on green Benji. Great. So that's a problem to the bullpen. You know is not where it should be more hurt Edwards. You know, had so many problems that they had to send triple eight iron out his livery, which was a little too legal. I mean, these are problems. So there's all of that. But the position players are still young in. They're so good when you've got by Rizzo and Bryant and Canada at all these guys it just goes well for them to be able to make a comeback on the position players. So I I think the Red Sox are still positioned to be a playoff team cubs are a little more skeptical. But the Yankees are the ones that I'm really worried about just because there's a lot of injuries. They're talking to Joanna Carey you can read his piece the thirty coming off red hot weeks raise an Astros rides to the top on the athletic breaking down the AL. And I'm actually curious you mentioned already in this interview Tampa Bay, but the Mariners should we still be excited? Should we be just waiting for the impending doom? I think we'd take the excitement wherever we can get it. I don't know that it's gonna last but even talking about the marriage being legitimate team. Right. I mean, nobody expected them to be good at any point that season one loans to start the season and they've been fun. And I I think the guy you got a point to as the king of fun over there are old friend, Dan Vogel Bach. Former Chicago cop, of course, Kyle Schwab. Heavier double ganger granted. Now is is very so. But at the time local block was a bigger Virgil short, which is very hard to do. But he's coming. He's come along. I mean, he's really produced so far this season with Seattle. He's had some good minor league numbers. But always struggled with he went to the big leagues. But if they just kind of leave him alone, he's gonna shot at it. And that's a good thing about being rebuilding team. Right. Whatever happens this year any good stuff. It's just a bonus. And they could rod guys like local Buchan just let them hit. They don't have to tune a guy like that. You don't have to do anything. They could just say you have a chance now because we didn't invest in this club. We traded away canot Andy as a million other guys, and we feel like this year, we're going to rebuild..

"From the athletic and the opener podcast joins us. Now to talk about the early stages of the baseball season, by the way, his guest tomorrow on that podcast Roger Clements. Nice. Get join we'll get to the Yankees in a second. But I I know you in Goff used to do some work on a weekly basis. I heard a rumor that at one point you thought he was a former athlete. So this must have been years. Ago. Oh, well, he was. You know, I love speaks. But the pick one of the Hawaii. I don't know. A lot has changed since then. Kids all kinds of odds hair. Yeah. I'm a totally different person. I've got a four month old, and I'm not exactly in the highest of shapes either. I understand that the in the end. I'm always the former athlete on all my shows. So that's good. Yeah. Let's get to the Yankees and Red Sox. They're starting their first series against each other this season Yanks have another injury with Greg bird. I Bohm Silla Justin to sing I l instead of D L, but tell me about the keys and there, I l issues are they a lengthy concerned. Or is it something that you feel like when everybody gets back in their this team will be fine while they go to and guy on the I L, and it's a problem because these are significant players Severino. We're talking about Stanton. We're talking about Sanchez. We're talking about some really good players. And you know, the bottom line in the Aley is that unfortunately, the small-market Yankees and Red Sox looking up at the juggernaut unbeatable massive market team that is Tampa Bay unstoppable raise. So that's where we're at right now, the Yankees and the Red Sox are, you know, they're in a hole and granted it's very very early season..

"Golick and wingo today, he seems to think this is a much bigger deal than Boeing the crazy thing is everyone was talking about how dominant they're going to be adding boogie cousins all of these different elements at the warriors can do. But without him understand that there are they lacked depth on their bench. Fortunately, they ended added Andrew bogut. But now all of a sudden everyone's minutes start to accumulate and start to get up early on in the playoffs. Which isn't a great thing for them. And that's what you mentioned. This is a team that you've got enough wear on its tires. You take out the ability to give some guys to blow when they need to. And you change the dynamics in terms of the the big man who can who can spread the floor and give them something in the paint. If their shots aren't falling because their legs are tired. We'll see what bogus. Gotta guess chance to be a hero straight out of Australia. Pass the ball screens fam- Spain and Fitz. Russell Wilson got paid. And just in the nicotine apparently because he had given the Seahawks deadline of midnight Monday for a new deal, according to Adam Schefter, he did not intend to revisit negotiations this year. If there wasn't a deal by that point. And as you just heard about forty five minutes after the deadline. He went on social media. And he let everybody know that a deal had been done. But he didn't just do it in a normal way. I dunno sitting in a chair or even wait till the morning. He did it while lying in bed with his beautiful wife and sounded a little something like this. We may have taken some liberties with the music. We got a deal. Almost the more. Go to go to sleep. One. I'm sorry. We made a mistake that was actually the sound of two people on the bachelor going to the fantasy suite and telling the cameras that they finally couldn't come in with them. And if you don't get that reference start watching the bachelor Spain and fits your Spain Jason Goff filling in for Fitz on ESPN radio the SPN apps, Sirius XM channel eighty. Yeah. Dude's voice went down a bunch of octaves, and he wasn't even talking like someone who's like, oh, I'm so tired. I'm glad we got this done. It was full on like, hey, Seattle. Just wondering if you will water What up. up? Exactly. I we gotta start with the montage to enter the segment. I'm so proud of the culture that dream mangoes said, you're like likes has now made it Trey wingo, which means it's being said now in the hood for two years. And I know what that means. You're done thing. Is that split? Oh, no doubt. No doubt straight wing saying weird place. You off never says it again Berman used to be the barometer. But now is passed on Trey wingo in terms of when things if officially died, but honestly shout out to try. I love you out there still didn't like the Super Bowl. But when it comes to Russell Wilson this guy. I don't know if it's the introduction of Sierra to his life. But he is somehow someway over the last year so turned into the fourth Migo like he has he's he has gone from Carleton to he's got breathing down his neck. Well, you know what? Lanes are going to do that. When you take care of the business that they should be doing. But no, he's he's turned into you know, he's gone from Stephen to Stefan or kale like this is this is next level swag. When you're sitting there looking at your phone, first of all, I think talking into a phone the fact that we're forced to do it to promote our things these days is the weirdest thing in the world..

"We'll get to Russell Wilson is nighttime voice in a little bit. But let's start with a first of all I literally went to bed last night with the warriors up about a thirty piece thinking to myself. This one's over. I can shut it down. And I'm lying in bed. And I see on Twitter someone right warriors really gave up a three one point lead. And I was like well played well played. And then I look like oh that really happened though. Like the clippers are about to win this game. This is what Doc Rivers said about the clippers at halftime, the speech. He gave his team somehow predicting the future we're gonna win. You know, just hanging there. Just hang in there long enough. I was honest with them. I said, I don't know how. I said we're going to figure this out. But just hanging there just hanging there with each other. And I thought they did. Wow. That's what he gets paid the big bucks for that is strolling down the street two thousand dollars just dropping out of his pocket. Daddy, fat sex thousand dollars worth of ones that somebody can collect don't hurt your toes. If it falls on you. This is my Oman is how many Oman unless you knew. Okay. Oh, mosh to Doc, Rivers, forget, the warriors and they're choking ways. And all the other stuff shout out to Doc Rivers for people realizing what kind of coach dude is because in Orlando when he had t- MAC, and we supposed to have Grant Hill. But granted was hurt. He was supposed to add Tim Duncan. But Tim Duncan's wife was like no I want to be on a team playing. So let's let's be in San Antonio for the rest of our lives that dude didn't get the credit there. And then he got the big three in Boston. Didn't get the credit that he needed their this clippers run has been outstanding. And he's got this team plan. Like, they don't give a you know what? And last night that was a rookie move by Spain by turning off in playoff game. When there's a thirty one point lead. You know, there's always a chance for a run. Total rookie move by me. I should have known better. And not only did I miss. I miss the finish. But I waited until today to get the big news on boogie cousins. I saw the injury as somebody who's torn her achilles and years later is dealing with all of the ways that that manifest itself around your body. It stinks. Boogie, and you could see it in that moment, his leg. Basically just got jammed up. He's trying to go for a loose ball and his leg is jammed up. And you wonder why that movement that could happen? So many times would result in a massive quad injury. But when other parts of your body are weakened, and there's a there's a mis balance and imbalance. They're like that's one stuff like that happens. And that's why when you're coming back from an injury like that it's not so much reactivating the achilles. That were as you. It's all the other stuff that's been compensating. And so this looks like a huge loss for them. And for him first of all before we even get to the warriors. This guy took a one year deal at less money to prove himself and be able to go up and get that big. Untracked somewhere else next year? And I'm not sure how he does that now because he hasn't been on the warriors long enough, and he proved himself in some ways, but to seem like he might be damaged goods..

"V A jumping in with both feet Alden in Richmond. Oh, we got a phone metal church basement coming in. A hundred law about sewage you put something in your basement. What was explain what's going on out? I wanna make sure I heard all of that. Because you're that Barry white voice or that. You've got a cold is a little you have a basement. Leaks in the basement church at your church. Okay. I did hear church. All right. And how old is the church. You know with oh. I guess you're the oldest. Okay. I just wanna make sure you know, like wasn't founded by Moses or something like that. Not quite that'll when I was. And here's the thing places like yours and my house, okay? Roughly the same age HAMAs. We have basements that never leaked until this year because we got so much rain that it's going to find someplace to go in. I used on several different houses a protocol dry. Lock. And what it is you go in there. You're brush the walls down you clean them down. You don't wet them? You just brush them down to all the loose stuff is gone, and you paint on this product called dry lock. And it's this heavy. Let's say it's a paint. It's not exactly a paint. But what it does it seals up the bricks? It's not pretty it comes out in a green. But I'm pretty sure you can paint it later. And it doesn't smell very nice. At the beginning. But the I mean, the the do it yourself answer is is put dry lock on the walls. Drying. Lock dry. Lock L. Okay. Okay. Now. How are you? How big of a area is leaking. Crowded area. You know? I mean, you might wanna talk to somebody like air resolutions about putting on a system. I mean. Big blue and big orange, sell it. Big Lou or big orange. Yet here in Richmond. You do know that I'm using a euphemism for the largest home improvement stores on the planet. Right. One of them's blue and one of them's orange. One. Alden. Good, Lowe's, or Home Depot. Okay. All right. Thank you very much. You're killing me Smalls. You killing me. Thank you. Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? I was I was gonna say I can always take that off the air. I I could patch it back through over here. We could go through that. No, no, no. Away. I've always looked at it. They're not paying me to advertise their companies, but you have limited resources for the most part. I mean there are there are still building supply companies out there. There's not many of them. So. That's why I just you know, it's easiest just to go to one of those. I mean, you probably could get some of it at Pleasants or true value. Those are also places. Here's the funny thing. I remember I moved back here in nineteen Ninety-six which is over twenty years ago. I came back to Richmond. And I was talking with my father, and I said. Pop. I saw this company up north. That's gonna put all the lumber yards out of business. And he says never gonna happen. And I said I've never seen anything like it. They have every thing every plumbing, electrical, they have everything they're gonna put us all out a bit never gonna happen. What's it called? Home depot. I had never heard of it back. When I started doing this kind of stuff you want plumbing supplies, good plumbing house. That's still a thing you want h vac supplies. That's still a thing. Same thing with electrical. There are a lot fewer and far between but the days of the good old fashioned. Lumber yard were down to maybe three. Everybody else packed up. There was one lumber yard over near the airport in sandstone. I mean, it's I'm not kidding. When I say we easily went there once a week. Easily. The big stores moving in town. They were gone quickly. But it doesn't mean that there's not competition because there are certain things I cannot get unless I go to a lumber supplier. Yeah. I remember I was working on a boat, and I needed teak try getting teak from anybody. But a lumber specialists try getting good clear. Lumber. The thing about the lumber yards that are still there. They have the higher quality stuff. I want plumbing supplies. I still go to a plumbing supply store because I can actually ask for something. They know what I'm asking four, which is always nice. And they have it in stock. I can find it and I can get out of there. But that doesn't mean contractors aren't still using those big guys and who knows one day. They want to they want to advertise on the show. I'll think about it. I'm not saying that not saying anything negative about him. Because I tell you what it's handy dandy. I'm in there. All the time. I got my Christmas tree at big blue down the street. I got my tree. Yeah. By the way, we have that people comment that back in the seventies and eighties. Big blue was a nickname for IBM was it. Yeah. Okay. So maybe I don't know if that's what autumn was getting confused with. But some people here think IBM why in the world, I find this trialogue stuff that IBM. Well, one is IBM really a thing anymore. Yeah. I don't you don't hear about it. Very often. My mother's first jobs was working on computers in the sixties with cards. Do you even know what those were punchcards punch-card computers? Oh, yeah. Heard of them never obviously never used. You never would've used one which you know, I was doing research. I was listening to something the other day, and I guess in nineteen seventy-one the internet was board or something like that. I was like well really didn't really know what it was until the late eighties early nineties, and it wasn't all that. So there you have it, by the way, someone sent me this little thing. Jean sent me a picture Santa Claus as I've had a good look at your Facebook page. You're not naughty your disturbed well. You do what I do. See you. Don't lose your mind just a little bit. Three four five eleven forty is how you get through to the show one of my buddies. I put up this article about this E coli fears prompted by cauliflower lettuce recall. We just had one. Now, they're having another one, and my buddy, rob. And he's he's in the food business. He said the CDC is a joke remained scare was over thirty four people in America getting sick. There's roughly three hundred fifty million people in America and thirty four got sick. You know, my question is how does it start in the first place in Brent said the pickers are don't have good bathroom breaks? That's a thought never really occurred to me. If you're out there in the middle of the field in nature calls. What do you do? It's one of those things put up there. Other people ask me things I would live with a talk about today.
