"Get the state board of canvassers to approve language this month. So petitions could be circulated for the college football season. Which is i know from personal experience and you do as well. It's a great time to collect signatures. What the amendment would do going back to the november twenty twenty election would be of a resident question. How an election is performed. They would be able to complain to an independent commission. Not connected with the secretary of state ballots. Tabulates pull books. The whole ball of wax will be dug into the results are legitimate under this proposal so it would put into the state constitution. The donald trump theory of rigged elections and make things like the arizona. Mess that they've got concluding right now. Just a part of the michigan election seen it would bring chaos. They don't realize. I don't think how hard it's going to be to collect the signatures without having a lot of money to buy signatures but it is possible they could get it on the ballot and part of me would like them to get it on the ballot because i think it would go down in flames. You can look that up now. Here's the thing about dr. I went to high school with dr. He graduated two years before me. We were both in the band. Dr was the drum major. I cannot believe first of all that dr is. A sheriff. Can't believe he can actually even hold a job really. But he's the sheriff. He has a group of people who like him but back here. he's just embarrassing us in his hometown. The only one who like him now are a related to and it's not even all of them but you know it's really upsetting to have this guy who you are really good friends with. Turn out to be this tool. Who just goes on tv and says was it really kidnapping or was it a citizens arrest. That's embarrassing. that's more embarrassing than when he dropped the baton at a competition in other words. "Have to look at it from that angle, and I'm hoping that's more what it is. In fact, these guys are innocent till proven guilty. So I'm not even sure if they had any part of it. Yes. Oh, my God. Yeah, He has taken part in some of these liberate. Ah, rallies and they've been holding on and he spoke it one of them and he was seen around these guys who were arrested today and, you know, he says he hasn't talked to them that you know he knew them generally, and they were always very friendly did to him likely. They would seem may have some of the same ideology. But, yeah, he's saying that. You know that. This may not have been a kidnapping. This may have been a felony arrest. Now. The last U U is a non member of law enforcement can not go to the governor's mansion and Medicaid felony arrest with guns and bombs. Yes, that would be a little bit be a little complicated. That That's just so everybody because they can't see this. This guy's got a gun on his head. He's got a badge. He looks like a regular cop from, you know Mayberry, but he's he's sitting there and doing this press conference and equivocating right to the very end. About how these guys are innocent till proven guilty. Which is true, However, the FBI had an informant there. Unfortunately, that could you know she was never really an imminent danger. But this informant was involved in some of the stakeouts of her home at night, trying to follow her movements and they were planning. On setting off a bomb like three miles away to get the cops to go there when they went in, And then they said in these, these missives that they went back and forth. That they were going to try her and possibly execute her for treason. Yeah, this was this was a murder plot in the end, even though they would call it you know, in executing anybody was a murder plot, And I mean, that's why, you know Now you've got the back and forth going on between the president and the governor with the governor saying, Look, this was extremely serious. It was extremely detailed. Luckily, like so often in these cases that we cover That there was an undercover informant in there and that the FBI knew what was going on and that they know they were watching it. And according to the office in the state that then they had that move in and act on the state and federal level because it was getting Too close to being carried out. And, you know, becoming the real deal at that point, But this included a lot of people. They had this plan with. You know the bunker and the trapdoor and explosives and Training on the explosives and printing on weapons and whatnot. That at least according to the feds, who were involved. This was something that if they had not stopped that those members of the allegedly of the militia Did they were planning on carrying this out. This wasn't you know, sometimes they stopped somebody so early on that You don't know if it's really going to go anywhere and what, right they didn't have the explosive. They didn't have the weapons. You know, they didn't have anything combined. In this case, they had it and they had the training and apparently had the motive is well And then you've got that sheriff in Barry County pretty much saying, Well, look, you know, maybe it's not what it seemed to be. Maybe it's not in the end, but the feds say they believe that it is the state says it believes it is. And the governor saying she feels like this, You know, she could be in danger. And again. This all goes back. To when the governor, you know, again in March and April, when everybody was trying to figure this thing out, said We're going to shut some things down. Okay? And these are you know a lot of these people that we're protesting today in Michigan in Lansing and not Detroit by the way, and they wouldn't do well there but in other parts of the state Grand Rapids They're all without masks. I saw some of the footage. Alex, This is just that When I see this stuff, I go. This is the United States, right? You know, by the way, it's so funny in California. States like Michigan in Texas. "Ashley moody at the Barry county sheriff's office down the rumors are and they have been that as the press gathers and is doing some checking on different situations. It appears that he will suspend Broward sheriff's got Israel and bring in the retired crow springs. Police sergeant Gregory Tony as Brown's Broward. Interim sheriff. Schedule suspension and Tony selection were first reported, but well, there's a lot of people it's got around. So there's a lot of this this. Individual crap. If you will the only thing that I see good or have heard good about. This Gregory Tony guy is that he's got a lot of experience in active shooter situations that that's the the big selling point for. This guy is only forty years old. He also happens to be black which would mean he'd be the first black sheriff of Broward County, not that that matters. But I'm just giving all the information. I have a friend from former FBI agents. Stuart Kaplan happens to be the personal attorney of sheriff, Scott Israel, and he joins me today with the latest on all this year. Your head must be spinning with all this. Good morning, rich. Yeah. It's been a very very difficult time certainly in the last twenty four hours, and I will tell you to the shops credits spoke to them, obviously several times last night after the press release, I suppose. First thing this morning and to his credit and MRs Willie. The first and foremost importance. On his agenda was really get into the office. Intimations of women award. Unders we understand that as long as the sheriff wants to make sure that they know he's got their back. And certainly also at the citizens of Broward County get the proper policing. Maybe just goes to show you that you know, that's the guy. He is not a spent the turmoil that obviously. Media now, you know sheriff Israel for years on a personal level as well. Of course. Well, what is his mood? Ben Mike over the last twenty four or forty eight hours. It's surprising. He's steadfast in Spain focused. In fact, I spent the day wedge fake. And of course, there was some concern as early as Monday to Santos was speaking out, and that he was alluding to this obvious leading up to potential will move of the sheriff, and the sheriff wars focused on making sure that the rank and file and his staff that is still the sheriff business as usual wants to make sure that they have all the resources available, and he was very sensitive to ensuring that the morale stay at the highest level because as you probably most of your listeners can appreciate some of the people that work. The sheriff or at the pleasure of the chef and to have to be concerned about collateral damage that if someone comes in here. Sheriff. They also may lose their jobs, and what I find very very troubling. In the world. We see politics. Unfortunately, play out such as this the uncuffed sessional nature of nachos. Remove sheriff, Israel or you're gonna suspend the why not just address it very professionally do it upfront and not just trying it along and make people come into work crew. Like the walk waiting for this for the Trump. I just find it very troubling. Of course, it's very demoralizing, and it could be potentially very destructive to you know, the people that are each and every day, you know, putting their lives on the line. I just find that to be somewhat shameful and amateurish, and perhaps maybe because we have someone who's taking political office for the post. I just think that it's fortunate. Well, put your FBI had on for a moment. And why do you think that this new governor is doing it the way he's doing a do you think that what he took office that he immediately got a copy of the F or draft of the FDA? Reporting. He knows more than we know. No, absolutely to the contrary rich, and let me give you a little chronology as early as March first the two thousand eighteen fantasies on record during a campaign speech saying that the first course of business. That's what address if you are to elect him as governor is to remove Scottish roll come from sheriff's officer Brown county now keep in mind. It wasn't until March. Twentieth. Governor Scott imperilled, you know, be investigated tuition to investigate the Douglas shooting. And so how is it that twenty days before the commission impaneled, and there's no evidence that it's been just belts the coin. The crime scene. That's still not been fully processed as much forced. And so there's not one concrete evidence or destinations that been conducted in connection with the facts and circumstances up to the shoot at best. We have the crime scene people out there collecting, physical evidence tracking down leads because we're focusing on KOMO prosecution because Nick was crews, obviously it's been apprehended and he's going to be prosecuted. And so what is troubling to me is that he made this assertion back in March of two thousand eighteen and now he's going to carry a Ford because he's been. Elected governor based upon facts, it's based upon a campaign promise that could have always been paid. Because if the motion that was going on at the time, and it obviously, but walks of life under any circumstances. But certainly compounded with loss of call. Call laura. Now what we've talked to Stuart Kaplan. The attorney for Broward sheriff, Scott Israel. I'm hearing that this guy I forgot his name. All of a sudden, Tony Gregory, Tony Tony is the guy that's going to be the replacement. He'll be not only the youngest sheriff in Broward County. But also the first black sheriff appointed this afternoon. Are you planning on being there this press conference today? I I actually down in borough county as we speak. We are only to address the response from the governor. In fact, that only if in fact, there is some actually rapper session. Again. Show is real good again hotel. You were speaking right now, but just past nine thirty in the morning. The sheriff's at his desk attending to the responsibilities at the sheriff's office. You know, maybe he'll come out on top. Now. What why do you think it's going to be the governor the Lieutenant governor and attorney general that seems a little bit much for something. I mean, this is something big, obviously. But but all three of them will what do you think the messages there? I think the messages. Question. Rich. Disgusted last night. I think it's to show unified fund that I think the Santos is trying to create this environment that, hey. You know, a political campaign promise back in March of two thousand eighteen you see standing here with my return of governor upsetting. The same here with the attorney general is four horsemen official in the state of Florida unified front because we collectively, but we that my decision is the governor to move this sheriff the best interest of the citizens of our county. And that's again, I think it's a red herring. I think it's smoke appears to me it is what it is. It's not based upon marital affectionate, certainly again, I think that the totality of what happened on February fourteenth. As her Wendy says, it is it should not be only factor to judge a man who spent the elected sheriff over six years. In fact, it's interesting, you know, Broward County has some of the posters sorrowful neighborhoods to reside in the United States. Not only in the state of Florida, but in the United States, you have some of the greatest communities, and that's to the benefit of his policing efforts where he's been able to continuous. Have such an effective ability on the criminal activity. But wouldn't you agree Stewart that one of those communities that you're talking about is parkland one, which is a very upscale and one of those neighborhoods. That's it'd be referred to as a sleepy upscale. And then this is where this horrific tragedy occurred last year in February fourteenth. I agree with that. And and I will just comment on this because he really has not been publicized toward fast. And I will just in. Exclusives. Which is kind of talked about this many many months ago when I have been on your show rod Taryn Curtis's shelves. There was as early as two thousand ten there was a theory communication system in place with respect to parkland. That is the excuse standing physically in parkland and you utilize your cell phone and make a nine one one call back. Call four dramatically will be routed to the cross springs. Police department. In two thousand ten leading up to the sheriff of the table elective improve his tenure. Can we try to convince Cole springs that the public safety was at risk certainly with the increase of cell phone usage that there needs to be a central data? They need to be a central Bank with these calls are collected. Because what the public doesn't understand that. If you're a corker in Jamaica, isolated call from your cell phone, and it goes to call springs. It's a minimum of thirty seconds before that poll can be rerouted to the Broward County sheriff's office. What people don't understand is that? All of the calls involving the park land shooting actually went directly to the Broward County sheriff's office, and that in itself is really not been highlight. But many of the deficiencies that took place on that day or not because of the Broward County sheriff's office men and women, but it was because of the failure of the communication system and the individuals who want the communication system because rich you could understand Baker nine one one I'm on call with an operator in col- springs. It's going to be lost in translation by the time. It's then transferred to the Broward County sheriff's office are gonna have to keep myself or the operator him or herself is gonna basically summarize what I've told them about the time that walks in translation and think about the real time intelligence that was lost to go directly. To the Broward County deputy swore on the ground. And that is something that I think over the months to come will be played out onto stand. Why this is not the result of a person who is ninety. The white leader for the sheriff's office. This is a myriad of things that happened here to no fault, really Scottish. Okay. The personal attorney of Scott Israel, the sheriff of Broward County at least for now. Scott stewart. Kaplan mixed up on everybody seems today. Forgive me. Last night. When you and I were talking I asked you a question that I'd like you to repeat the answer. Here in the broadcast. There's talk that he's going to be suspended rather than removed. What what is the difference? You asked me. I honestly, I don't know. I can tell you that pursuant to. Florida statutes. Section one twelve the governor has the closer eight that is in fact next mystery since mouthpiece. Incompetency or others, you know, to remove an elected official whether or not the removal is tantamount to fiery that individual suspending that individual. I read the statute the statute talks about the in terms of the suspension doubt is because that individual then has a due process right to challenge. And I think until two state that someone would challenge and then until such time as the suspension would become finalize through the Senate, which was something special. Preceding technically, you would be in a suspended state. All right, Stewart's always a pleasure to have you on the show a pre. She added. The interesting to talk to you on Monday. After all this goes down to this Becker. All right. Thank thank you have a good day. So it's anybody's guess what's actually going to be said how it's going to be said. But it does look like, Greg. Tony is going to be the next sheriff of Broward County. He's a retired from the Coral Springs police department. He now owns his own company called blue spear solutions, which are everything from training. Excuse me to backpacks and just first.

"The garden show on NewsRadio twelve hundred w. Good morning. I'm Bill Roedy and good morning everyone. I'm David Rodriguez. And. We're here. Here's okay. Right. Everything's cool. Okay. Anyway, we've got some folks who to talk to you Davis. Let's talk to Amy Amy thanks for holding on. How can we help you high? Well, I have two questions for you. Good morning Bill and Dave. I listen to you for quite a few years now, I've just moved into the area. I was in the military for twenty six years. Oh, thank you. You're welcome. My pleasure. Actually, I enjoyed my my tourist. We just moved up here to canyon lake back in twenty sixteen after I retired. We bought a house they've been sitting for two years. So we had a lot of overgrown bushes, and shrubs grass was so when we first moved in after the first year, we did exactly like you said with the fertilizer day. You're absolutely right. We can't mowing the grass and keeping it down and last year, however, because of the drought, and I got a wild crazy idea that we should paint. This big old thing too. I didn't take very good care of the grass last year because we are so busy painting a house outside. Okay. So I was wondering first of all can you tell me again, the, I know Hispanic green and grow or something like that. Yeah. Medina Honda, Texas. The Frankie family's been in business over fifty years. They they're the operators of Medina agricultural products. And they make a good organic poultry based fertilizer called Medina growing green granules, and that's available in most places. And so normally we put it out March first for spring for your put it around everything trees, shrubs, flowerbeds lawn, mid February and March I said about twenty pounds per one thousand square feet, and then you can look at early June. And then you can look at it again in early September two to three times a year. Okay. Now, the second question I had is my. Tree line tree last twenty seventeen. Okay. And the lime tree died because of that cold weather we had up here. It got down to twenty four. Very sensitive to the cold. Yes. Yes. So that dies at my tangerine. Tree seemed to survive. But now I notice this past year. It started getting thorns on the branches is that normal. Yeah. That's the question. We often have on citrus. Most of these sets Suma mandarins, orange frost and Arctic frosts are a little bit more cold hardier, but they're grafted and often they're grafted on a sour orange rid stock. So that that's below the graft and they graft them so they can get into production much earlier to get them through Juvenille early phase. And if you see straight upright growth with tend to have a little bit larger leaf and big thorns on him, that's the graft. So they're very aggressive too. And that's why in the deep deep the graph. That's the that's the gra- the the root stock that's taken over below the graph. And so you do need to remove those. And if the top has died out in either maybe go to our mid April grafting seminar at Stanic's, and and can look. Get considered regretting it or replacing it. Okay. I think I probably going to have to replace it looks like it's pretty much. Also now this past year. But this this fall it got really thorny now. Citrus. Try to all these young trees try to grow three years in a nice sized container. Follow the patio. Citrus guidelines that we have both on the search engine on plan answers dot com and Aggie horticulture the kids nutrition moving them if it gets super cold, and then three about April may once they size up and good good girl from the Trump good would on the plan. Well, defined rid system. Then you can plant them in April may away from the cold northern winds, maybe close to the residents as long as it drains. Well, and has a good amount of sunlight the limes and possibly lemons where you're at. You're probably want to keep them in containers because they tend to be much more called sensitive. Very good. All right. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate you guys. And I'd like I said, I'm very much a novice appear trying to gross stuff. I'm from Ohio originally grow things anytime anywhere. Amy, keep an eye. Keep an eye on our Barry county, master gardener website, and our listeners we have a lot of great educational presentations. I didn't realize how much we have scheduled for January and throughout the years. Well, as Burke county extension service website to all right? Very good. Well, thank you so much.
