At least one more segment. I want to continue our coverage of Jamie clause case because we have some new information that we want to share with you first of all you did get a police briefing from the sheriff's department, Barron county that we carried prior to going into the break, and we got some new information. But not a lot about that case. There is some more information that I can pass as well. I don't think I need to go into a lot of background because most people have been following this case, very very closely. The law enforcement spokesperson who is the Barron county sheriff, though, the one thing that they've been adamant and clear on is that there appears to have been no contact that anyone has been able to find between the close family or Jamie and the suspect in the case. Who's they Jake Patterson that body he keeps saying that he specifically targeted her. And you heard some of the news reporters asking that question. Why her and why somebody from such a community far away? How out of the clear ability to happen to come upon her that what we don't know why they're so adamant that it was a targeting of her. He did go. However, it is some detail that has just shilling about how planned out this was he shaved all the hair off of his body. So that if there was any cut a struggler anything, he wouldn't leave any hair follicles are trace of himself at the seed. He also apparently took steps to try to conceal his footprint. So that they wouldn't be able to track those. So he was planning for some time to go into this house, not leave any evidence that it was him. That was there which isn't the easiest thing in the world to pick up a busted at somebody's house, the shotgun shoot up a couple of people and take someone to not leave fingerprints are not leave any kind of physical trace. Clearly, he must have been wearing gloves and stuff like that. To avoid the fingerprints. He shaved off his hair. Which is why in this mugshot, he appears to be a borderline skinhead with a very very short crewcut. So they wouldn't leave any of his hair. No criminal record as has been mentioned. However, the sheriff did allude to information that they've received about a brother is name is Eric who does have a criminal record. It's mostly medium level sup, including a lot of drugs there is in the case of the brother of fourth degree, sexual assault conviction, fourth degree, sexual assault, and Wisconsin is not a felony. It's a misdemeanor. So there's that and there's some drug charges and of quite a few other arrests on the part of his brother. Nothing however from Jake Patterson in addition to that, I've been contacted by a listener who shares his story that I can't verify, but I'm gonna to pass it along because it has the ring of truth. He said he was able to check out the Facebook page. Of j Patterson's, brother. That Facebook page has since been taken down. And unfortunately, the guy did not make any strange shots. I wish she had. But he says that Jake Patterson's brother has a girlfriend who seems to be a dead ringer for Jamie clause. Again, what does that mean perhaps nothing other than there had to be a reason why out of all the females in the world, he chose this particular thirteen-year-old girl was so obsessed that he had the amount of planning that was necessary to go and kill the parents abductor get erupted, Gordon and get her locked into a house where she was for eighty eight days before she was able to get away. And I'll never be able to think all the agencies and businesses individuals that helped on this case with their singular focus to bring Jamie home yesterday. There was a lot of confusion with an erroneous social media post about thirty four thirty PM in Walworth county. This was an incident in Walworth county. But in no way had connection to this case as reported on Facebook. Shortly after I posted that Jamie was not involved in the war with county incident. My detectives were alerted a nine one one call was being given out in Douglas county responding to a person claiming they headphone, Jamie. I'm now going to bring up sheriff, Tom doll Beck. The Douglas county sheriff, and he'll address this part of the incident. Jeff. By agency received a nine one one call about four thirty yesterday afternoon from the individual who was walking her dog. Said she was approached by a young female claiming to be Jimmy Kloss this lady immediately went to a nearby house notified that neighbor of the claim and this neighbor called nine one one and my deputies responded en masse immediately. And identify Jamie as the person that approached the neighbor took control of her possession of her put her in safe-keeping and a short time later one of my patrol sergeants happened to find a vehicle that matched the description that Jamie gave my deputies of the suspect and pulled the vehicle over and took the suspect in custody at that time. Beyond that Jamie was taken to a local hospital up in Duluth superior area where she was. Looked over and examined and she was held overnight for up Asian and the suspect was interviewed and subsequently brought back down here to in Coney. That's all I have right now. Thank you sheriff doll Beck. And thank your deputies for the work that they helped in this case. The suspect arrested was arrested in is currently being held in the barren county jail. That suspect is Jake Thomas. Patterson P A T T E R S O N. "Thirty w y s. Coming up at nine minutes. Investigators are scheduled to begin a news conference in which they will give an update on the rescue and safe return of Jamie, lost the thirteen year old girl kidnapped from her Barron county home for parents were murdered October fifteenth and Jamie was gone while yesterday afternoon in Douglas county about seventy miles away someone walking their dogs saw a girl running frantically up to her saying, I'm Jamie clause, please help please help call nine one one within ten minutes. Suspect was arrested. We do not know the name of the suspect whether or not he's been criminally charged. We have not gotten any details about that kidnapping which sparked a statewide amber alert that was just yesterday cancelled. We will hopefully get an update for you. Coming up in just a couple of minutes and. Right found in the town of Gordon says producer, Dave this is in Douglas county. And we don't know where she was was she in this home that she apparently ran away from in the town of Gordon for the entire duration of her eighty seven days. Vanished. We we we simply don't know. We hope to hear from Barron county sheriff, Chris FitzGerald, the FBI likely to speak at this news conference says well, it is scheduled for ten o'clock, and we are going to be monitoring this a lot of times, they say ten o'clock, but because they're still working on what information they can share. You have to understand law enforcement has to be very very careful about what information is disseminated to the public because they still have to being to bring a criminal case against this defendant. The last thing you want is that you say anything that could prejudice potential jurors, and that you jeopardize a criminal conviction. We're going to step aside for a break here. "Hey, we want to remind you that coming up at ten o'clock. We're gonna try to hook up live with ks T P to bring you that press conference. Yeah. Bearing the Barron county sheriff's department is going to be host holding a press conference at around ten AM. So sometimes that's ten on the dots. Sometimes that'll be a little bit out. We're going to keep an eye on that that of course, they will be giving update on the wonderful news. If you have not yet heard that Jamie, close the thirteen year old who went missing after her parents were found fatally shot in their Wisconsin home was found yesterday alive to the rejoicing of the state of Minnesota were so happy, but everybody has questions, and we want to know how she's doing. I know Beth. Mcdonagh five eyewitness news was talking with genius ons last night, and she's been talking with them throughout this process. And you know, what was really? One thing that I noticed as I was watching. Channel five's coverage of this. As the news broke was you could just see the genuine emotion that was coming out of particularly Beth mcdonagh who has covered this much of the newsroom has dedicated so much attention to this. But she's covered. She's been on the phone. I'm sure countless times with the sheriff and has communicated many times with family members of Jamie clause. And so when this news turns out so positive you could just see how shit how shaken she was emotionally in a good way. That oh my gosh. This is real the thing that everybody the best her family in our newsroom in your home's everybody hope for this and it actually happened. So ten AM we hopefully, we'll be hearing live from the barren county sheriff's department. I want to point out. I don't think we mentioned it earlier. But with a nine minutes of her being in custody of police, a suspect was placed in custody. Yes. No, this is really great news. And just to touch on this quickly. I know that we have a couple other things to get to regarding lifetime television, which is this is of critical importance. But here's one of the things that was everybody felt like they were on a bit of a emotional yoyo yesterday on the barren county sheriff's department Facebook page. Okay. I'm reading right from this. Let's see the time exactly at four twenty five PM yesterday. They said Jamie class has not been.

"If you missed the news all morning long. It is literally the biggest story even into some extent overshadowing the fight over the border while we will, of course, get into that. Plus, my audio essay walls work coming up at about nine thirty at ten o'clock this morning, we will air a press conference from authorities Barron county sheriff, Chris FitzGerald, also we are believe. Steve we are under the belief that we're going to hear from the Douglas county sheriff as well. She was found in Douglas county. Apparently at a home the time line is this said about four forty yesterday afternoon. Someone walking her dog was approached by a frantic looking girl saying help me help me she knew immediately that this was Jamie Kloss, the two ran to a neighbor's house where they called nine one one within ten minutes based on the directions to the house that close gave a Thorndike's a suspect was in custody. We don't know the name of the suspect yet, we don't know any potential relationship to the close family if you'll recall on October fifteenth in the town of baron. This is about ninety or so miles east of Minneapolis, far, northwestern, Wisconsin, authorities are called to the home. They find Jamie's parents James and Denise shot to death. There is a phone call. Nine one one call from Denise clauses. Cell phone authorities. Do not hear anyone on the phone. They can hear screaming in the background. They respond to that. Call. They find the parents dead. No, sign of Jamie. Two days later, the FBI now involved pleads for tips hundreds are pouring in. But no concrete leads about a week after her disappearance sheriff FitzGerald got two thousand volunteers to comb the area. But it appears that there is no sign of Jamie whatsoever. The parents are laid to rest twelve days after the shooting the following day. A very bizarre twist as investigators see on motion capture video cameras someone break into the Kloss home through a patio door. This is not related to Jamie's disappearance. But rather the man a thirty two year old named Kyle Janke of Cameron Wisconsin broke into incredibly disturbingly steal underwear that he thought belonged to the thirteen year old girl. He is obviously investigated for any connection to the disappearance. But he's cleared. It's at this point that it is believed that Jamie Kloss is dead. Obviously, the first forty eight hours really the first twenty four hours in a missing persons case are critical especially in a case, which so obviously features child endangerment. An amber alert case is one that authorities generally believe if you don't find the target of the amber alert within twenty four to forty eight hours. You are no longer looking for a living person that this is no longer a rescue operation, but rather a recovery operation. Sheriff Gerald said throughout the investigation anytime there is news. If it doesn't come from me as I am the point person in this investigation, take it with a massive grain of salt well yesterday. Rumors started probably around midday, noon, one o'clock. And they were near as I can tell started on a law enforcement Facebook page that Jamie costs had been found. Obviously since no one would have had any idea that four hours later. Jamie Kloss really would be found. It's unclear where exactly these rumors came from. So this post goes up at about the same time in east Troy, there is a massive law enforcement presence. Sheriff FitzGerald actually had to go on social media and say, look, this is not at all. Related to the Jamie clause disappearance. We were of course, at news talk eleven thirty w I s monitoring that response. It turned out to be a very bizarre case to burned bodies found on a property some rural area in east Troy, we were ready to go. Just in case. We obviously have our ear to the ground. And we get a lot of information that comes in that we don't actually go with. But we were ready to break in. This was during the Mark Belling late afternoon show. We were sort of coordinating our potential response. If in fact, this was it. Well, it turns out by about eight thirty nine o'clock news started trickling in coming from sheriff FitzGerald that. In fact, Jamie Kloss had been found her at soon. Neighbor Allard talked with WC crtv..

Some Mortgage Deals Are In Limbo As Government Shutdown Drags On

"It's day. Twenty one of the partial federal government shutdown and it's causing big financial concerns for hundreds of thousands of people who aren't getting paychecks today. Here's one example, some furloughed workers can't refinance their mortgages or by homes because lenders can't verify their income right now and his NPR's. Yuki Noguchi reports even those who aren't federal employees are getting stuck in limbo. Libby, Anderson's divorce finalized this week she'd hoped her ex-husband would finally move out of their damone home where they've been living separate lives under one roof. It was going to be you know, as soon as today. I mean, we were really going to take care of it today the day after it was final, and then he would be out. But no her ex is a furloughed air traffic controller the shutdown means he can't split his assets with her including his government retirement account. She needs those funds to refinance the house under her name. Also, he can't qualify for his own mortgage because he hasn't been paid for three weeks. The. Government stalemate also means they haven't explained the pending change to their young son in a four year olds had you can't say, you know, mom and dad are going to be living in different places. And then you say well when where and we don't have those answers yet as the shutdown drags on more people will find themselves facing similar roadblocks refinance applications are booming as mortgage rates felt nearly half a percentage point in recent weeks, but furloughed workers can't lock those rates in anyone looking to buy or refinance may have a harder time getting through to federal agencies to verify income taxes or get some loan information from the Federal Housing administration, which remains closed rural home loans guaranteed through the department of agriculture are on hold to Margie hockberg is president of the residential mortgage center. She says her Rockville, Maryland business will likely see a ripple effect. This is going to be a house of cards because if I can't close. By your house. Then guess what? You can't buy the house that you are buying even though you don't work for the federal government to deals nearly fell through this week. But Hoff Berg persuaded the lenders to waive certain paperwork. She says banks strict requirements of borrowers create many potential snags. I hope would be that the lender start becoming a little bit more flexible because it's not in their best interest to not do loans either. There's some precedent for these problems during the two thousand thirteen shut down two percent of home loans. Never closed according to the national association of realtors. But that one lasted only sixteen days, the headache really is related to delays Lawrence Yun is the group's chief economist he says seventeen percent of home loans closed late due to backlogs most deals get done. But Yoon says he worries more about possible impact on homebuyer psychology, along with the shutdown it causes greater uncertainty about the economic direc-. Action which means that even the private sector employees may be less willing to purchase home over time. Greg Bush agrees what furloughed employees are going to go out and buy a house right now when there's no definitive date of a compromise. But is vice president of first savings mortgage a big player in the Washington DC area. He notes the impact on contractors who make up the largest segment of the federal workforce. There's a lot of contractors here that aren't getting paid people who own those companies they're not going to buy the able to refinance. And they're going to start laying people off those people, I think will be most affected for Libby Anderson. The new divorce say the shutdown cannot end soon enough while her break up with her ex has been amicable sharing space is taxing it. Just feels like you're at the finish line and the finish line keeps getting moved. But you're exhausted. There's not much you can do about it. You can't move the finish line. Closer because it's totally out of our control. The latest expected to move out was April first. But now Anderson worries the shutdown could outlast that obviously I I wouldn't kick him out into the street, but we really both need to move on and have some physical distance from each other until then they will continue to retreat to separate corners of their house. You know, Gucci NPR news Washington, and we're following a developing story this morning. Authorities say they have located thirteen year old Jamie Kloss, she's been missing since October when police discovered her parents dead in their home in Barron, Wisconsin, investigators got thousands of tips that were massive search parties to try to follow up on those tips last night. The Barron county sheriff's department announced that Klaus has been found alive about an hour north of baron CBS affiliate W C C O spoke with clauses aunt suit, Nyberg Allard last night. Harry's earlier today. Print and print that were chewing. They come to not be true. I just ship myself. Totally don't sit that today was going to be the day. The sheriff's department says shortly after class was located a suspect was taken into custody that apartment didn't provide any further information, but plans to hold a press conference later this morning, we'll continue to monitor this story and renew any developments.
