Your Neighbors (MM #3949)

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. One thing we all can agree on, is neighbors can be annoying sometimes. I've lived all over the country both as a child and as an adult and lived in apartments and lived in houses and well, sometimes you got good neighbors and sometimes you don't. Some of the things that trigger us with our neighbors behavior, things like not doing the yard work, leaving the garbage cans out too long. Perhaps their kids playing out in the street or getting in the way of traffic. Barking dogs, loud parties, if they happen to be those kinds of people who do fireworks when it's not the 4th of July. Some of the frustrating things with neighbors. And sometimes you get lucky and you move into a neighborhood and get good neighbors. And sadly, sometimes those good neighbors move away, and while it's a role of the dice, whether the next neighbors are going to be good or bad, living in a community where we have a lot of homeowners and home renters, it's always a roll of the dice. We had some good neighbors. We've had some bad neighbors. We've had some neighbors who haven't changed, and the one house that keeps turning over and over and over again. I may not be the greatest neighbor. I don't know my grass quickly enough for some people, but at least I don't think I'm a horrible neighbor.

John Zmirak Describes Accusations of Anthony Fauci Funding Experiments Involving Beagles Being 'Eaten Alive'

"Is, John smirk, welcome. Thanks, Eric. Mainly today I'm here for the beagles. Look, the beagles thing, before we get serious because it's so serious, I get murderously angry when I think about it. Frame the question because most people are familiar, but some will not be. We might as well leap into it. This is very dark. It's very important. Thank you for writing an article about it at stream dot org go ahead. Yeah, the title is well beagles be the avenging angels who finally bring down Anthony Fauci. It has come out thanks to the white coat, the white coat waste project that one of the many things the busy Anthony Fauci was doing. Was funding cruel and useless research on helpless innocent beagles that he was paying for them to be put out in the desert with sandflies eating their eyeballs. Overnight, that their eye their faces were being torn apart by sandflies in the Tunisian desert in order to test some new medicine. And when the dogs barked in pain, the lab people cut their vocal cords

Fauci Under Fire for Sick and Twisted Beagle Puppy Experiments

"According to documents obtained by a freedom of information request, white coat waste project and subsequent media coverage, from October 2018 to February 2019, NIA spent $1.86 million of taxpayer funds on drug tests involving 48 beagle puppies. The dogs were all between 6th and 8 months old the commission test involved injecting and force feeding the puppies and experimental drug for several weeks before killing them and dissecting them. Fauci funding experiment again in Tunisia, as we mentioned where they had to have starved, sandflies, beast on them alive. The invoice to the naid for the actual work was four or dect. Known as devocalization involves slitting a dog's vocal cords in order to prevent them from barking, howling or crying. Approximately 30% of all the promising medication have failed in human clinical trials because they are found to be toxic, despite promising preclinical preclinical trials and animal models. But 60% of the candidate drug fails due to lack of efficacy. The people who fund the torture of dogs should not be able to make medical decisions about your children. The people that have time and time again said that we want beagles heads to be eaten alive by sandflies in Tunisia, which again is something out of some sort of James Bond movie. What does that say for the type of leader that we actually have in the federal health bureaucracy? What does that say actually for Fauci and for Francis Collins themselves and now Fauci comes out and he says that he wants to have vaccines available for children than the first week or two in November. Some people are gonna say these two things are unrelated. I won't. Anyone who tortures beagles, I'm gonna stop listening to you about anything. Like you're a sick person. You need

"Do. But no way no way not only have to fight everybody at the prosecutor's office. Every single volunteer work put those dogs. Yes no Nolita we're fairly certain going into that because of the animals themselves are in essence paraphernalia in many situations right so we look at things like the breed of the animal are. They were housed on the property. What thereby Sorts of things than in the state of michigan again. Our laws are really really tough. And it's illegal to own by sal import export transport. You know all sorts of different things for the purpose of dogfighting or their offspring. You know so so we have a pretty lead to stand on in those situations that we can prove it lease even the case kind of goes to heck that these animals were in fact used for this purpose so we cannot have people own them for that purpose again. So yeah we're really likes underneath us. Yes oh my god well. And i'm sure with everything in life right you learn you get better at it as you go. Oh yeah i swear. I will will revisit case like a year later and i look at torrey. Now's like everything you did was garbage. This is horrific. These photos saw cable redoing. I have to come in and say look at the most recent one. Let's talk automatically the entire team whether it's you'll response or being media or even if you just get better every time. Can i tell you how we focus so hard on humane field response and delaying it. We carry every single dog off property like we never had an issue even even if we did have to use a control state or something which we haven't had to we would still do that in a humane manner because we know. How do we know what we're doing right The other piece of the puzzle is that we're not afraid at our shelter especially if we know that it's going to be a longer term. Stay for a dog to assist them. "On the legal aspect of it so animals eminence so just as if we see a gun which we don't see his guns gun with these from a property or murder weapon that that evidence has to be preserved right so as does the live evidence aspect of it so regardless of if on-scene owner decides he's going to legally voluntarily surrender those animals great. Hey we just thirty dogs almost rendered fantastic regardless of what happens in how we get disposition or ownership of these animals so that could be through surrender. It can beat your legal horford your process. Maybe owner wasn't president and we leave notice and they don't contact us within ten days in. We can abandon those animals out no matter what we do. We still have to for certain period of time preserved these animals evidence and what that means is immediately moved the document them in the field and then we immediately upon on intake. You are facility or q a triage center or something of that sort depending on where we're at. We have forensic veterinary exams for these animals. So we have to donate every single aspect of what these animals look like physically medically behaviorally everything The second we bring them into our facility reasons being. We need to make sure that we can improve. This is how this animal was right when we when we rescued that animal. Also we need to be able to show sane animals emaciated whether or not. It's a dogfighting case. That animals emaciated we feed that animal. A proper diet of breed size appropriate food is a animal gain weight right so sometimes proved cruelty to an animal or neglect as well can take time and whether it's neglect or cruelty case or a blood sport case that can include neglect and cruelty. We need to really make sure we're doing our justice by these animals in really recording it and in preserving every aspect of them for a while ago i remember a couple years ago. They used to say like. Don't don't you hate her work. We want to really see what this animals you know. Behavioral disposition is.

Eric Describes the Funniest Story From His New Book 'Is Atheism Dead?'

"There are a lot of funny stories in the book. And usually when I do interviews, I don't get to tell these stories. I've got a glance over the top. But you just asked me about one of my favorites. I mean, I can't tell you how much joy I just laugh every time I think about it. But this was the discovery in 1979 of what's called the silver ketef scrolls. And what that means is these are incredibly tiny silver scrolls that were so tiny they were worn as amulets. And they had the priestly blessing the ironic blessing where the priests would say the lord bless you and keep you the lord make his countenance to shine upon you and give you peace. I mean, this holy thing from the scripture of written in silver in really Proto hebraic because this is from 6 50 BC. Anyway, but how was it found? Yes. I, if you read books and archeology, it'll sort of tell you, oh, this was discovered here here by so and so and so and so I was okay. But somehow, in my research, because I have fun doing the research, I discovered this weird backstory. And the more I dug the funnier it became. Yeah. Okay, here's the story. The guy whose last name, oh gosh, what is it? It's Barack. I can never say his name. It's the book here. But anyway, it's not Jacobs. No, it's a 28 year old. It's a 28 year old guy studying archeology in a Tel Aviv, or Jerusalem. So he's a nobody. He's 6 years from his PhD, but he gets this idea in his head that below Saint Andrew's church outside just right at the outset skirts of Jerusalem. There are some old caves and burial caves, whatever. They've all, they looked like they've been excavated. There's nothing there, but he has a hunch that there's more to be found there. But he doesn't have any credibility or anything to get real archeological students to help him. So he has to be really humble and say, you know, I'll take anybody who can help me. Gabriel barques Gabriel bark, I think it's barkai, barkey. He has to go and this is like a joke. So archeology club, 12 and 13 year olds. They volunteer the kids, the kids can help you. So how'd you like 12 and 13 year olds annoying 12 and 13 year olds to help you on this big dig? So they do the dig, they find nothing. He's disappointed, and he says, well, you know what? At least to we've got a photograph, all these chambers, even though we found nothing, there was one kid that was so annoying to this barkai that barkey was like ripping his hair out and he says, I can't take another minute of this annoying 12 year old named Nathan. So here's what I'm going to do. All of these caves need to be photographed. The most distant one or one of the distant ones and over cave 25, he sends Nathan there, and he's really stern with him, like angry, like, hey, I've had enough out of you. I want you to clean that chamber. It's gonna be photographed. I want it to be so clean that your mother could use it as a kitchen. Like you really threatens the kid because this kid was very annoying. So Nathan trundles off to this distant place. And the joy, of course, is that it's far away, and we're not going to hear from this kid for two or three hours while he's doing what we do. But he takes a hammer with them, which is a weird thing, nobody knows. But the kid is so annoying that to go clean the cave, he just happens to hide a hammer on his person. And when he's bored in this sacred chamber, okay? There's nothing there. It's got a stone floor, whatever. He takes the hammer out. Nobody knows this, okay? He's all alone and starts smashing the floor with the hammer. Now this alone, I find it funny. The only reason he's there is because he was so annoying, they sent him as far away as possible. But if he wasn't annoying enough, he had a hammer with him and decides to use the hammer to smash the floor. The board Nathan smashes the floor with the hammer so hard that it cracks. It wasn't supposed to crack. And he finds a hidden chamber. He sticks his hand in the hidden chamber and is dragged into the bowels of hell itself. Just kidding. He puts his hand into hidden chamber and he pulls out some stuff, some like little ceramics. He now is like, hey, this is what I'm here for. I'm not here to clean. I found treasure. So he runs to barkai and tugs on his shirt. He's like, hey hey, look what I found. You could see bark. I could picture his hair standing on end, like what is going on? The annoying kid is back with some ancient treasure. So they run back to the place, barkai sees that, what do you assumed was an empty place was in fact hiding this stuff and the annoying kid was so annoying that he smashed the floor open or whatever. So he sends the kid home and they spend days now excavating the secret whole and they pull out treasure after treasure and the greatest treasure is what we described. And unbelievably tiny silver scroll so delicate that they couldn't unwrap it for three years. They didn't know how to have the technology without destroying it. But they could read the words inscribed in silver. Now if it's inscribed on anything but silver, it doesn't last. So the Dead Sea scrolls, which are amazingly old, they're not this old. This is even older. So this is the first extant writing from the Hebrew scriptures ever discovered thanks to the annoying 12 year old Nathan. He's probably in his mid 50s right now and he doesn't know. And when he's

"Introduced myself so This is a daily wager extra so a link beer football podcast. On thursdays as we look ahead to the nfl. Weekend and earlier on the same feed tyler. Anita breaking down. Tonight's game props as well. But the every weekday monday through friday there's the normal daily wage podcast in and out in less than ten minutes and then we have one thursday looking to the football weekend and then Son monday monday morning then. I taped sunday night. Just recapping everything and we'll have a guest. This sunday did not have one last weekend so work in progress on that front. Hope hope you guys enjoy the content. Murray is standing byron. wrap things. up with the bonanza. Both of us in the blacks. When i start to the weekend which was really historic starting weekend with a bunch of dogs barking and in terms of college again we have tons of content on. Espn dot com chuck section. I know it's nice on the pod. But we do that on. Friday a lot of our picks for the college and my favorite place stanford at vanderbilt linked twelve. There was tens earlier in the week. And it just comes down to the quarterback. Mckee guy was the number third quarterback in two thousand eighteen coming out of high school behind. Trevor lawrence and jt daniels went on his mission for two years came back. I mean turn. Down florida auburn. There are some high-profile schools even early in his. Recruitment was texas and alabama. So this guy's got the goods. I don't know why he wasn't starting the beginning of the season. And david shaw took awhile. But you saw how impressively played at usc in the coliseum that led to klay helton's firing i think they go into vanderbilt and take care of business. This should be a blowout zalm on that game and then a couple of other places. Well that's the one. I really wanted to mention my favorite play for the weekend. It'll be my best bet. Most likely on friday night daily wager and then obviously have some other plays on sportscenter hits and espn dot com chock section. Right now i have three plays on the first half under as well at happy valley in the white house. Game under twenty. Six twenty seven but Go check it out. Espn dot com chuck section. But let's get to. Mr murray kicking is for losers yes kicking is for losers and boy. Did we see a gold standard. As i texted you. Murray put this picture in the lou. The wide shot of the carolina panthers punting on the thirty three yard line. Yeah that was a good one. I missed that one somehow. I don't know what it was doing at that time. It must have been talking to customer whatnot and Somebody somebody tweeted at me with a picture of it. So i i appreciate whoever that was thank. You always never assume that. I saw stupid field goal or punt. Always make sure that you're you're keeping me abreast of all these things. I saw it and i laughed out loud and i shared it with ed. Ed salmon's very funny moment here. Yeah that was something again. Just that beautiful white shirt. I'm actually thinking about getting it framed. I'm not i'm not. i'm not entirely. I haven't punted on that idea if you will Recap win score one for the bad boys. The bad guys Twelve and four. Ats underdogs last week including nine outright. Just historically awesome for a week one in terms of the dogs barking. What do you make of this. I mean i think it's more just like well. First of all sometimes just the ebb and flow of a scheduled like this week. We have three double digits breads. You can't just like it's just kind of random but then also there's a lot of short numbers. I thought it was a tough survivor week. And what do you make of. It is the markets. Kinda off early on. What did you real quickly. What did you use an abusing for survivor. Because we Our our entry ended up using tampa bay. We got the great idea of us. Tampa bay and they somehow lose. Just go back the next day and sign up again. Oh wow and And of course tampa bay easy win. You know never had never had to worry about that. I just wanted them to win. So i could go to bed on thursday night because i was. I knew i had a big day friday. And then godwin. Fumbles the ball going into the end zone. I'm like oh come on. I gotta stay awake longer than this We did survive very easily. Move on moving onto week to tampa my main pools and then i ended up doing detroit sierra san francisco at my other ones against detroit. Yeah what do you make of these upsets. I don't know. I don't make too much of it really. I mean first of all one week is a small sample of games. I mean the only one that really caught me by surprise would have to be pittsburgh beating buffalo. That was yeah very impressive. Performance by the steelers. Defensively i mean like one of the best defensive units in the league poor weather in buffalo for that game to put to put it lightly but that was that was really the only one that I would say. I was shocked by. I'm i'm not gonna say i was stunned. That houston beat jacksonville jacksonville. At one in fifteen. Last year i. I don't know that Anything else really took me by surprise. Goodwin for the forty niners like you mentioned the rams won easily. We actually got crushed on the monday night game. You know when..

Democrats Release Details of Proposed Tax Increase

"We have a full listed that point of the tax hikes that the democrats are proposing. Well i hope so. But i don't think they actually ever do stuff though do they. I mean Something's gotta fun to not only three and a half trillion dollars spending bill but i think estimates have about five five and a half trillion. Hugh yesterday was two trillion dollars in tax hikes. That's not enough. but i'll those proposed tax hikes. Which do you think is most egregious doubling the death tax or getting rid of the pass through which help small businesses look. The pass through is disastrous. Getting rid of that is going to be absolutely disastrous. One of the primary reasons that we believe that we had such a successful economy under president. Trump is because of that we we let small businesses grow. We let them thrive and remember. It's two thirds of new job. Growth is in the hands of small businesses so when we kill small businesses killer economy. We kill we. We basically kill communities it it it. It can't it can't be done. We gotta stop it. That you know what i don't understand. Alfredo they want to return the state local and property tax exemption but they want to get rid of stepped up basis. So that means they're gonna give with one hand and take away with the other. It doesn't make a lick of sense. Do you think any of this makes a liquor. No not at all. I mean look at what the top rate For example in new york city for earner center. It's going to be over. Sixty one percent is basically where we're going to be given in taxes between federal and state is just absolutely ludicrous. not this makes sense And again i think you know you look at representative clyburn for example. What did he say. Let's go ahead and spend first and then we'll figure out how to pay later which basically means we'll just bark you borrowing this idea of modern monetary theory. It's gotta go that. Basically we can just keep borrowing to spend all these social programs

It has often been said that the way to live long life is to acquire rheumatism. They found fewer deaths than expected from accidents. Which could be explained by the fact that people with arthritis probably aren't out you know going skiing but also significantly fewer deaths from heart attacks. Maybe it was all the aspirin. They were taking for their joins. Those thinning their blood and preventing clots forming in their coronary arteries in their heart. And so in the nineteen sixties. There were calls to study whether aspirin would help those. At risk for blood clots and the nineteen seventies. We got our wish study suggesting regular aspirin intake protects against heart attacks today. The official recommendations that low dose aspirin is recommended for all patients with heart disease but in the general population for those without a known history of heart disease or stroke dealy. Aspirin is only recommended when the heart disease benefits outweigh the risks of

Bringing Service Animals Into The Lab

"So if you're a scientist say biologist or a chemist and you have to work in a lab. You're super familiar with the term. P p personal protective equipment which is p. p. e. is outer garments goggles boots and gloves. That's joey ramp. She works at the beckman institute for advanced science and technology at the university of illinois at her banish champagne. And yeah basically anybody who sets foot in. A lab needs some form of p. p. Even if you have four feet see. Joey has a service dog. Can you hear him little like ground sampson okay. He was getting up all right. Here we go samson. A golden retriever is trained not to bark and he's a very good boy when he's in the lab with joey. He wears goggles worn by military. Canine and buy police canine and law enforcement. He wears rubber bottom boots on each paw and he also wears a lab coat underneath his harness and that keeps them safe. Samson intern keeps joey safe in the lab and out years ago joey suffered a traumatic brain injury. She also has. Ptsd samson senses when she's in a stressful situation that could trigger her ptsd. he picks things up. Because you can't bend over that well and he helps her balance embrace when she's moving around. It's it's a cliche to say that the dog saved my life but A service dog really does that every single day but there was a time when joey was told that she couldn't have her dog with her. At least not if she also wanted to be in the lab they immediately said. Oh my gosh. You can't possibly bring a service dog into this environment. It's too dangerous so sadly there are a lot of science faculty that are reluctant to allow anyone with a disability into stem or science and When you have a service dog That that makes it an even bigger problem from the moment you walk in. You have a service dog. it's very visible. It's very different. And they have the power to say. No

"Cute dog this is fresno california. That dog barking belongs to the latest victim of gun. Violence murdered moments earlier shot several times. His dog left alone as police. Look for evidence. Shortly before we were out on patrol with officers of fresno police riding with officer bread hutchins out checking on a burglary when the shooting call came in on a victim of shooting racing to the scene with lights and sirens in this city of five hundred. Twenty five thousand population far bigger than kansas city. Pittsburgh or cleveland. Twenty twenty was the most violent year in fresno and over two decades and twenty twenty. One is outpacing that with shootings and murders happening so often. These officers can't get a break. We arrive on scene running to the victims or run an interim police into a homeless encampment. Down jot running the officers and men down. He's got a got. I got one entry wound right here. Medics aren't on unseen yet. So officer hutchins or hot. He's known to his colleagues begins doing cpr. Two three four six but the man is dead. Officer hudson says it is unfortunately a regular occurrence in fresno majority of it is gang related there's fresno's just inundated with With the gangsters palko balram is fresno's new police chief coming from oklahoma city to run this department. He has a battle on his hands. How do you fix arising gun violence problem. What we're seeing is. Yes a peak in violent crime and there's a lot of factors that contribute to achieve chief bald aroma and so many police chiefs in the country. It's not an issue of legal gun. Ownership of vast majority of the guns causing problems. Here are illegal. They aren't bought and sold legally and talking about people who have been to prison for violent crimes who have no business carrying a gun. Active gang members people who are intending to hurt somebody with the fire.

"That's when i'm like okay. We need to like dig in here. A little deeper figure out what's going on. Why are you in pain. Why are you giving these headaches. Uae have been consistently. Take these aspirins or any other type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug because people shouldn't have to rely on something like aspirin on a consistent basis. It's just not. It's not ideal. So whether taking aspirin alongside willow bark i mean. I don't see why it could not be done. But i would say if someone is happening to take it consistently. There's some work that needs to be done there to figure out. Why are they inflamed right. Because that's ultimately how an aspirin is helping someone feel better is reducing their inflammation. So the question to ask is what's causing the inflammation. And how can we adjust things in their lifestyle and their diet in their habits in whatever it is that they're doing that's leading to that inflammation and tried to remove that root cause and then a cold type headache so so this is a good general. Way of looking at differentiating types of headaches temperature is a really great way to differentiate headaches so a hot type headache is gonna be one that is a sharper pain there's often times a sensitivity to light..

Willow Bark vs. Aspirin

"Hey everybody stage popham here. Founder of the school of evolutionary herbalism and. Thanks so much. Take time to watch another video. Here on our channel and The topic for discussion today is on comparing and contrasting willow bark and aspirin. Think it's really common for folks to think about willow really as just kind of an alternative replacement for aspirin as most know. That willow bark also contains salicylic acid which is essentially the main compound in aspirin. But what we really come up against here. And i think this is a great place to illustrate the difference between looking at a plant through more of a biomedical or allopathic lens verses through more of a holistic or vital list lens because when we look at willow bark and just see it as an herbal form of salicylic acid all of a sudden. We're looking at overlooking a lot of attributes of this plant. That are very important to understand in order to use it holistically and if we think of it just as an herbal form of aspirin it can oftentimes lead to misuse of this plant which can lead to possible adverse side effects if you get give it to the wrong person but more often than not what that will lead to. Is it not working in the way that you think it will boy. It really can set people up for disappointment. If you think. Drinking some willow bark tea or taking Some willow bark. Tincture is going to work as well as or you know. Take your pain away or headache or things like that. Quite as effectively as popping an aspirin.

Why Do Elephants Like Peanuts?

"I am alice. I'm eight years old. I live in houston texas and my question is why do elephants like peanuts. Thank you great question analysis. When we're learning about animals. We tend to get our information from a lot of different places what we read what we if we can observe an animal and sometimes what we watch on. Tv and the idea that elephants like peanuts probably comes from the cartoons and movies. We've watched over. The years elephants are herbivores. That means they eat grasses and bark vegetation in zoos. They'll eat fruits and vegetables hay and sometimes pellets of food. That kind of look like pet food. The connection between elephants and peanuts is that in early. Zoos and circuses. Lots of peanuts for sold for human visitors to eat sometimes. These zoos and circuses would let humans feed the animals. And just like your dog might sometimes eat people food if you give him or her. Some the elephants would eat. The peanuts got offered these days. Zoos don't let you feed the animals and that's a good thing. Biologists and veterinarians say peanuts army. Great food for elephants so while it's funny to see elephants. Eat peanuts cartoons. They don't do it in the wild and it's not really a food. they like better than anything else.

Set a Routine for Snoring on Alexa

"To get back to you are series here on routines that are based on sound detection. And we talked previously about the dog barking, sound detection and the baby crying sound detection. Let's talk about the snoring, sound detection. And I'm not going to confirm nor deny if that could be an issue in my house. Nevertheless, here's what the deal is routines. Again, allow Lexi to do various Things based on either command or a time, or now sound detection. So you go into your Alexa app, you click on the more icon in the bottom right corner, you click on routines and I click on the plus sign, and then you're going to enter routine name, once you've done that, you click on when this happens. And now you're going to see the sound detection, Baton Rouge there. You can see the snoring option and this will detect snoring sounds during a specified sound. So you click on that. And now you choose where you want to take the snoring, probably it's going to be in the bedroom but your name. So you click on bedroom or whatever you've named your smart device rooms, then you go into the sound detection, snoring settings, and you choose what days you want. This sound detection to be active for and then you click on an action. Now, this is where it gets interesting because you can decide what Lexie does. If Lexie hear somebody snoring and edit, it could be anything really anything that's on this list of routines. So things from what Lexie says to that'd be funny, actually, you could have Lexie say something to changing something on your calendar changing, device settings, setting alarms, you know, maybe waking you up. You could. I mean, there's so much your messaging, you could send a message to someone that smart home. It could maybe turn on light or turn off a light it goes on and on and on.

"Merch, you know, kill. He barks during the show sometimes killer the science dog. Oh, anyway, you guys I'm really excited about the newest episode that I'm about to present to you. Oh my gosh. It was long listed for the national book award for nonfiction. And it was a New York Times. Notable book of twenty eighteen the tangled tree a radical new history of life by David Kwame in one of my favorite science writers of all time. Now, this is a really cool book because it talks about the new things the new things that we know when our constantly discovering about evolution from a genetic. From a molecular biology perspective, so many changes to our understanding since Darwin's time. And although a lot of the things that Darwin initially proposed still ring true, we have so much more resolution how so much more understanding of the kind of complicated and much less. Linear than most people think way that Evelyn occurs. David Kwame, as I mentioned, one of my favorite science writers of all time. He's written fifteen books. Several of them are some of my favorite books spillover and the reluctant Mr. Darwin. He's also written for so many publications the Atlantic Rolling Stone Harper's the New York Times book review, and he's been a contributing writer for National Geographic for quite some time. So guys without any further ado here, he is David David. Thank you so much for joining me today. Jerry good to be with you here. I am so excited to finally after some scheduling difficulty all my fault. Actually, I'm so excited to finally be talking to you about your new book, which I'm going to say is still new even though you right so many books. So I my assumption is that you're already halfway written on. Instantly, but I ride slowly. So this is yeah. The tangled tree is certainly is going to feel like my new book for a year, or so at least I'm starting to think about other projects I actually have two other projects underway. But no this is about I haven't started writing those yet. Oh, good to know. Yes. So we can it's still new we can still talk about this. I mean, it's gotten a lot of press coverage a lot of really positive response. I've noticed within the sort of science communication community science press community and for for such a good reason. It's interesting I have to say that you decided to tackle evolution in a very new way which will get to but you decided to tackle evolution. It's very hot topic this year, I feel like a lot of people writing about evolution and Lucien. Will evolution is always a hot topic? Isn't it maybe more? So this year since we live in sort of an era of. Alternative quote, unquote facts in science denial as in that sort of thing. Evolution always needs evolutionary, biology, Belushi, ideas, always need defending, but may be more. So recently than on average. But I always. I always writing about evolution is kind of the if not the overt theme the implicit theme of the books nonfiction that I do when I wrote a book about infectious disease. It was really a book about the ecology. Evolution of scary, viruses, end island biogeography that was about evolution to. So Emily is there? It's the great subject has John ski said nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution. I love that. And I do have to admit probably one of my favorite books that at it's hard to say you've written so many books, and I did absolutely love spillover. It was so prescient. It was so important to after you wrote it obviously before the most recent multiple bowl breakout. As you're able to kind of follow up on that with more writings about Ebola. But I have to say I think one of my favorite books that you ever wrote. Was the reluctant Mr..
