"Years even recognize it had words because I was just busy listening that seven and eight emphasis and saying, Yes, yes. Now there's a backbeat. That was just amazing. Yeah, Yeah, that's the best. I wouldn't. I wouldn't have cared. If he was singing about his damn grocery list. It just wouldn't matter. Oh, the words didn't really matter. No, not sure that was thinking about you today when I was listening to some Barbara Lewis songs and I I guess it was the flip side of Hello, stranger. Think a little moves. Sure. Think of little engage Music song, Big Beach Music song, right? Yeah, 1963. I mean, I want she Barbara Lewis. She did that. Someday we're gonna love again. Well, there's so there's so many wonderful pushing a good thing, too. Fars, a great Barbara Lewis. There's there's tons of them. On the other spectrum of music, Um Uh, this is kind of horrible, But I read this deal about this country singer that I've never even heard of organ. Tell more. Yeah, here. Here is the deal. He's been a problem for me today because we're playing four count of four of his records on on my country of him, and I had to yank. Um and I've got him on five different computers and So while I was talking to James actually earlier last hour, that's what I was doing was yanking Morgan Wallen Records off a five computers thinking to myself. Well, what should I replace that with? So Yeah, but this was not the first time he stuck his foot squirrely in his mouth. But we're playing four of his records. And right now we're playing none of his records. However, I've read on the one of the trade Online magazines allow access today. You know, cannula, Zay Harding. All these company. He's gone. He's out with more lovable, but but but, you know, how could a guy be so successful? So dumb and self destructive? And then after these people do this crap? Get on there. Oh, I've just made such a bad judgment story. There fell sorry for themselves when they did in their foolishness. From what? I don't understand. I've heard about it was that he released the video where the word occurred. Another words it became public because he released it. Now, if that's true, he obviously didn't think there was any big problem with it until it was a big problem. So I know what I've never heard This man's music. I don't know nothing about him other than what I've read about him, But he Oh, have that incredible success. How in the world Could somebody be so self destructive unless they're just playing dumb? Well that But the other thing is done playing insular. You know when you when you grow up in certain surroundings with certain people and things are just taken for granted. By you is not being an issue. I think that is that is the problem with with it is that it wasn't a question so much of being dumb as that. I don't think That he he said it In any way that he certainly wasn't set in hate. I mean, you probably saw the video and know what that Woz No. No, it didn't. Okay, well read stuff. He had been out on the town with some friends and he was saying goodbye in his driveway, and he was caught on video. Basically hurling the n word, you know, in reference to a buddy, Take good care of that. Blank B blank, and that's that's what itwas and You know, in 18 hours he went from being ah, you know, unwarranted winner and candidate to being suspended indefinitely and ineligible and all that kind of stuff. I think the hypocrisy in this is that Unfortunately when he said that he did not realize that it was that inappropriate because it was so commonplace, and many of the people who are now calling him out to the biggest degree are people who have been equally guilty. In other words, his surroundings didn't make it. You know, make it what it wa So what one thing he had, you know, called somebody up? Uh, I can't say that word but MF er couple words before it and then Yeah. Take take good care of this, You know, And then you know, punctuated pretty and and so, you know. As I say. What's horrifying about this is that it was obviously not behavior that he second guessed at the time alcohol fueled or not. So that tells me again that you're talking about many of the people who have been, you know, just as guilty are now calling him out because it's the politically correct thing to do. And Ah Ah, I'm not in any way defending the man Don't get me wrong, But what I'm saying is, those who are damning him are probably equally guilty. But don't don't want to a publicly be appearing as such. Well, I would like to say this to you and your listeners. It zah dog on shame. That anybody of any race Would would use the name. I mean, obviously. It's old. It's Tyr. It's It's degrading, and it should not be used by black white. Anybody. Well, I would agree. Nobody gets a pass on that with May, right, I would agree at this point in time. That it should be washed from anybody's mouth. If not their mind, you know, But, uh, but But people say, Oh, that's a term of endearment if you're black well, and I don't I don't know here. Here's the thing here. It may be, but that's taken in context, and I heard an entertainer years ago. I forget who it is now, but he had a great example of that, when some White chicken called him out on it. And he said, no, it's a matter of context. If I'm walking down the street and I see my wife and I say, Hey, baby, and I give her a big hug and squeeze in a kiss that's appropriate. But if I'm walking down the street and I see some good looking woman that I don't even know what I said. Hey, baby, and I give her a big hug and squeeze in a kiss. That's jail time. It is about context. And if people in their own community care to do that, that is their business, But for people outside that community, we don't have that right. It's out of context. Well, as you know, I worked at in a black radio station, Houston, Texas, two different times. You know, I do know nation but hang on several years apart. Don't go away in a minute. Don't go away because I just realized this is, uh, this is John's coming in here with his brakes, side and boy. I know that's needed now, so we'll be back in moments on WGN radio. If you've got an insurance question, you could talk to a park Ranger. But the only quotes they'd probably give you would be about the beauty of a fallen leaf or ripples in a pond. Not the kind that could save you money on your policies..

"Agendas. Barbara Lewis, remember the feeling wonderful song, and we just got a request for that. What I said I played. The guy probably hung up. So that's all I wanted. I just wanted to hear. All right, well, there you go. Yeah. WeII take replaced, Providing I like him so that Zoe limited amount of stuff. Obviously, In fact, I was I was looking at the great show Prep that Carol Ford gives me every day. So that all selling I know what I'm talking about, and she was a marvelous job of this. But apparently Lia Lee, Pa, Chris, It would have been his birthday yesterday, and I thought to myself I can't think of one record by Lee Pod words. I mean willing to play and he was a songwriter, and, to his credit are things like Itsy Bitsy Teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini. Which always somewhere is on the list of the world's worst hit records. Catch a falling star, Right, Tracy by the cufflinks. Yeah, it goes down down from there, so I thought, No, actually, I was very happy to hear you wanted to hear Barbara Lewis happy to do that. So I'm still looking at. I guess tenant damage if you will, because you know, it's unfortunate that the tenants are as a group, not necessarily the most responsible people with which you'll deal if your landlord but of course, if you are landlord, you're renting out property. You got to expect that there's gonna be bottom of damage every time because there is And, you know, sometimes you get very good runners, and you know extremely good runners. And then sometimes you get extremely bad runners. But this is the first time I've actually encountered 2 $263,000 lawsuit, including sewage on the ceiling. Like I say that that had to seep down from floor. But don't don't you think? But that was not the oddest thing on the diatribe aside, like to go it on list of damages that had the usual like doors left open with extensive water damage, landscape damage walls and trim damaged. No, This was the part. Carpets cut up and mismatched pieces, replacing the damaged ones. And I think to myself What were they thinking? You know, for virtually what did they do? You know, stain it beyond repair. Oh, you could get very McCobb, you know, say it's blood from the murder Well, assuming that they weren't committing mayhem in the place, but just having whatever their standard of living entailed. Did they burn it? You know, I say that because John years ago had a friend staying at the house who accident lit a plant on fire of ours. And when I When I found out about that, I noticed he was about to light. Ah, component on fire. I think it was a tuner. And I guess he was just trying to see with this Bunsen burner or whatever his lighter Woz, but But yeah, Yeah, so that that stuff, I guess happens. But what on earth did you do to the carpet? Worry a. You had to cut out a section and now remember, the rent on this place is $10,000 a month. So this this was probably pretty primo carpet to begin with. And they the landlord's also had claims for some of the fixtures that were damaged in all that in it. It definitely was a high end place. And to say the least, but what would make you think? Let's just cut it out. And, you know, put in a piece of shag or what have you? You know something? That absolutely no mismatch pieces. Wouldn't you like a picture of that? Although it also reminds me many years ago, when, when Rick Dees before he was a star when he was still rigged an odd husband Diesel 30 was working in Raleigh, North Carolina. W K. I X and he was Sharing an apartment with Steve Roddy and Steve later used his real name Ken Low and went on to monumental success developing things like HD TV and all that and was handsomely rewarded. But back in the day when they were both just Horace Church mice. They had this place in Raleigh and I remember there were so proud that it had wall to wall carpeting. Well, what they had done was they had gone to like the floor's Rs US type places is the 60. So you know that kind of place that we can get carpets on and they got samples. And they got enough samples to cover the floor. But none of the match make thought This was perfectly fine. And so as I'm reading about this rapper doing this damage Carpets cut out mismatch pieces of them. Well, maybe maybe there's a certain amount of past to that. But it kind of begs the question about the weirdest places you've ever lived. And I'd love to know about him. 8888765593 88 88 R o l l Y e. Yeah, the other night was talking about hopeless acres in Louisville, where I lived. I called it that, uh, saying about the worst. But then I realized Oh, no, I can top that and I probably will next. But right now it is time for Walter's perspective sponsored by hearing health center dot com. There is still this morning so much military might around Capitol Hill that the major players in Washington are talking no violence today, but they're also talking more violence to come. Kind of talking that I think a lot of focus on members of Congress who are stoking violence, doing things like packing pistols. The rookie member Lauren Bogert, for example, elected in rifle Colorado, a 33 year old, tough minded advocate of the Second Amendment, owner of a restaurant and rifle in which her waitresses are packing loaded pistols. Upon arriving in Congress. She told the Capitol police that wherever she goes around the capital, she's packing a pistol strapped to her hip. No problem, say the police because Congress has a rule that says no law passed by any state or federal government shall prohibit a member of Congress from carrying an unloaded firearm around the capital except inside the chambers of the House and Senate. Unloaded means no bullets in a gun Bullets carried separately. No problem. It's also no problem for congressional assistance to carry a member's firearm around the capital, even when the House or Senate is engaged in a passionate debate about that Second Amendment. And continue their debate outside the chambers. Members and their assistants are not required to tell police they're bearing arms or how much ammunition they have in their pockets. So how many members of Congress are bearing arms in the nation's capital? The police have no comment on that how many assistants are burying arms? No comment on that either. Not enough. I hope to shoot up the.

"Bruce, WGN radio Imrali dreams that, of course, a remarkably underst big hit. And that, of course, is the Dells and you haven't spoken much about them because, as Bob Krueger was saying about picking a picture for the cover, the Dells are so nationally well known That it really doesn't talk about the essence of the people that you probably don't know nearly as much about but the Dells clearly were royalty. I think my all time favorites. Now I pray and all the early VJ stuff. Do you have a favorite Bob? Do I have a favor of the death? Oh, um Yeah, There is a favorite but it doesn't come to mine that they had so many home. Oh, love is so simple. It's a very beautiful beautiful. What? Well harmonized song. I just love love is so simple, you know? And I wanna say another thing in the Sixties, The Dells had a differently than from the fifties. It was a singer that started with the group. His name Marvin Jr. Sure. And Marvin Jr. Really? Was highly instrumental in the Dell success in the sixties because he brought a soul. Energies, soul type of gospel, a voice to the bells and transform from a doo wop group and And there's a famous singer from Philadelphia. It sounds just like Marvin Jr. And his name is Teddy Pendergast and people in Chicago. What whenever they hear Teddy Pendergast says, Oh, he got that from Marvin Jr has Yeah, I can hear that. You You betcha. But you're right. There were there were so many, uh, records over the years we're talking literally from 53 on and I think they were probably still performing largely with the same members through Ah, through the first decade of the century. Yeah, I think about 10 years ago were maybe even a little more recently. They disbanded. Um, they lost Think after Carter. Johnny Carter died. Uh, that's hey. Was like a second lead in the group. Almost. Yes. This high tenor right would contrast with Giant Uh, Marvin Jr and Marvin Jr doesn't isn't it with the group anymore? He's dead also. And so I think, I think Big without their to alternate leads. You know, Marvin Jr They probably didn't see much point in continuing The bells and they didn't want to bring in some 25 year old and pretend that that was the Dells. Like many of you know, groups have become, you know, from the sixties. Oh, yeah, I think that I think that was smart Move, you know, um, they had done. They had down enough and they didn't want to have a bunch of 25 year old pretending to be Dells. Right, and Johnny Carter you mentioned I think he's one of the only if not the only members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who was inducted twice for the Flamingos and for the Dells. That's right. That's right. Hey. He, like a several of the other flamingos had blond to a certain church in the black community that was like a Uh, it was like a Jewish church. He you know, we had a Jewish type singing that was certain. Theology and Uh huh. I think for members of the, uh, Flamingo's were always black Jews on interesting background. Yeah, that that that is, And of course, Johnny Funches died several years ago. I think he was one of the first deaths and then Chuck Barksdale last year that wonderful bass voice Oh, yes. Chuck Barksdale was kind of like the spokesperson because he was He was the most out there. You know, I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Uh, banquet in New York City when the Bells were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And he was the one who gave the Bell speech at at the induction ceremony on and And of course, I know I was like Chuck Barksdale. He was kind of funny in that he was I don't know. He he was just very clever and funny Guy. Yeah. I loved his soliloquies on some of those records. But the Dells were the backgrounders on Hello, stranger, weren't they? That's right. Barbara Lewis. I didn't know at the time when I heard it is a beautiful song, and she came from Detroit, and they they came to Chicago for some reason. Even though everybody knows Detroit had a pretty good recording industry at that time, and, uh, the Dells, uh, where the background vocalists and helped the song Tremendous league. Uh and vibrant. Lewis was a wonderful wonderful singer and Is a record. I still treasure. Yeah, so many things, And so many of them were done right in Chicago. So Johnny and Austin wants to join us. Welcome to WGN radio. They were only high bomb. How are you tonight? Good. Hello there. Listen to the songs that you're talking about. I was playing it, Ky. Okay, Rollie, Like we got the winning hand by little Milton. One of my favorites too. And, gosh, I have not heard you mentioned the group One of my real favorites. The radiance wouldn't know much about No 00. Yeah, Voice your choice. Radiant radiance is one of my all time favorites as well. They never were as big as they should have been. And But I'm glad you brought him up. Because you cannot talk about Chicago souls up talking about the radiance. Yeah, more recent again Group, But I love the time when Leonard Caston was in it. Like I say, it ain't no big thing is one of my all time favorite records. Yes, and push your child. Yeah, Perfect. There was There was another really great one that didn't get as much air plays. I've been a thought It was hold on. Fabulous in 68. Yeah, hold on, was very, very successful, though it was That was after a personnel change. Um But it was still you know, there was enough radiance still called radiance. You know, it was excellent, excellent, just record. And.

It's on Karen. 1966. So, Yeah, another Ali McLaughlin record, and Barbara Lewis, of course, wrote it and had the hit And since, hey, he was in a habit of not paying the royalties anyway. I guess the capital's didn't make out on that one either, but it is a nice record. Now we're talking with Christian Molinski, who is the deputy director of numbers Yusa Because I am just in utter shock. It doesn't even seem possible to me that we could have an industry by the way, an industry with industry groups where Nationals around the world, including from people who are ostensibly our enemy, China. We're going to talk about China lot next door, by the way, but China are, in fact paying American surrogates to deliver babies for them here, and the emphasis in these articles is is always about how oh well, they couldn't have Children and they now they're missing their Children so much because of the pandemic. And why is it that they're not coming home? Well, it's that big, bad passport service. I'm saying passport service. Yeah. Not only citizens about passport. Yeah, This is apparently a codified thing with a country that is far as I know. Surrogacy is completely outlawed. And this is just probably the most agree GIs but one of the few things out there that we're not hearing about. We're hearing a lot of other things. Regarding two are just insane Immigration policy and in this creek case, birthright citizenship, So we're going to see how Chris's cell phone is at the moment. Hi, Chris, You're back. Yeah, I hope so. Too in although, like I say the conspiratorialist me does come out and say, Well, I don't know Every other word was fine, but ah, In truth, I don't think there is a way I've been trying since I heard about this a few weeks ago to position is someway. Trying to play Devil's advocate, trying to make sense of how this would be okay. And as I say, I don't think China allows surrogacy at all, let alone off American Children. Right? Yeah. No, no, I I don't think you would find this practice in very many countries around the world. This is this is again Mrs. Especially amongst developed countries. It's a practice that's really unique here in the United States and And again, it goes back to you know it goes back, Teo. There's there's a historical context of why we have this automatic birth rate for this and shipped law. Here in the United States, But there's there's gotta be some sort of guidelines. And and that's one of the things that that that my organization numbers USA is working on. Instruct tryto try to reform laws so that this sort of thing is no longer allowed. You can There's they're automatically becomes a question of. Well. The 14th amendment guarantees citizenship for all Children born in the United States. Yes, And now if you you take the plane reading of the text. There's that there's a clause in there that says, subject to the jurisdiction thereof. So you know in Congress have the find who's who is subject to the jurisdiction thereof in the Immigration and Nationality Act, So that's something that That is that is up for debate and could go before the Supreme Court. So we would just like to see the discussion of that It will have that debate raised. It seems that the way to deal with this wouldn't even be with regard to birthright citizenship. It would be that surrogacy for foreign nationals is outlawed period so it couldn't happen on any level. You know, I realized that ultimately, yes, this needs to be revisited as a concept, But it seems like there's so many end runs around that in cases like this, where they could outlaw this without even have to discuss the birthright citizenship. Right? Or or at least, you know, have a list of of trusted countries, which I'm guessing that China would not be on that list. Trust the country. Where something like this could be done, but again. You know, just because you have surrogacy doesn't mean that the child has to automatically received U. S citizenship. That's a totally different different matter, You know, And that's really what that the issue is. Here is what you have when you have a American Sergent Surrogacy Parents for four Chinese nationals and the child earns US citizenship and then we're sending them back to China to be with their to be with their Chinese parents that that again it becomes a national security issue because they have that dual citizenship between both China and the United States. But again doesn't necessarily mean that just because the child was born here in the United States that Child necessarily have to receive automatic citizenship. Well again. It's hard for me to believe that this wasn't one of the as you had mentioned rare exemption, So let's look at that. What are the exemptions? When do you not get birthright citizenship? Well, It's very, very rare, but again going back to that clause that I referred to that's that's listed in the 14th amendment, subject to the jurisdiction thereof. So Congress has To find that diplomats And Children born to diplomats here in the United States are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. So therefore they do not receive automatic birth rate citizen, You have sense It makes all sense the world because they're not subject to our laws. And we know that all too well alright, so beyond anything else No, that's that's that's really the only exemption. Yes. Well, there's a word for that. And that word is insanity and again that we're talking as I say, for 100 Children stranded right now, and that's so between March and now who allegedly can't get out because of the passport office, And then I say to myself a white a minute, you know, I realize that they're getting birthright citizenship, which they can invoke a 21 years old, But here they are, on their way back to AA. China were were giving infants, infants fast sports. How is how do we get him out of here? What do they leave with? Yeah, Yeah, yeah. I mean, they're obviously leaving with a birth certificate or social Security number, passport, You name it pretty much all the rights and privileges just about everything except for a voter identification card. And I'm sure if they were over the age of 18, they would have that with them as well. But you know it comes again. Birth. Being born here in the United States carries a lot of privileged with that once you once you receive that, well, of course it does. And, you know, we're talking about the surrogacy industry and again there took no highlighting the poor couples who are childless and all that and I'm thinking to myself. The Chinese government would be shipping people over here in big numbers because it's an advantage to them..

"Think a little sugar that's Barbara Lewis nineteen sixty three uncharted because it's the flip of her giant hit hello stranger and Arbor destructive elements Laughlin took a chest in Chicago to record it and hello stranger enters the details on backup of both of those was placed on Atlantic rather than one of Ali's own labels for distribution reasons and it became a huge North Carolina beach music hit as well but there you go with Barbara Lewis now we're talking will post town hall and I guess so we were as we're watching we were sort of debating whether you would want to weigh in on this or not but if you do will interrupt what were are doing to have that that conversation I've got a number of other points to make but one of the things about re opening is that you know you're gonna be face to face with people hopefully six foot separated but if you thought it was tough dealing at home with your neighbors who are staying at home for the first part now you're going to be back on the streets dealing with people who maybe aren't having the same values as you are regarding how to handle this pandemic how do you do live on is an international cultural consultant adequate expert in go to Heidi do upon dot com and S. H. E. I. D. I. D. U. L. E. B. O. H. N. dot com and Heidi welcome thanks for joining us thank you very much for having me you know we normally wouldn't think about etiquette at a time like this would say oh well that's a luxury but in fact etiquette is probably as time goes on going to become more of a necessity until we really work our way out of this you already see people who are operating as the the group mentality ganging up on say somebody does have a mask or whatever but I understand is your business you know how to maybe gently coerce people to do things are the way they should be or the way you feel it should be well thank you yes I think etiquette is you know I I get asked a lot is this you're old is this your grandmother's etiquette one though not really to me etiquette is really as it has been it is today all about respect it's really about being kind and respecting other people's feelings and other people's opinions so yes as we are all sort of coming out and all my gosh we are all dying to come out you know of our homes and get back to whatever we're coming back to yes and some people are not as compliant with the social distancing as others and what you do it's happened to me recently I was in a big box store had to run an errand I'm all matched up and everything and someone was really right behind me and and voicing his opinion that he just did not feel that he needed to comply with this and so you're in a lot of us are going to be facing the situation so what do you do in my opinion Raleigh I respect this this other person's opinion and his right to do what he wanted to do so it I said excuse me I think we're maybe just a little bit too close if you don't mind I'm going to move ahead a little bit and I I took it upon myself to move out of the way I think debt I knew I was not going to change his mind about the situation but yet I need to be respectful of his opinion and I can take it upon myself to just move and make sure I'm in a safe spot in that example could you have done that without even telling him anything I surely could have and I've done that as well I've done that as well you know sometimes you know I I don't want to be rude and just sort of be on turn my back and move away so I just yeah I think you know maybe or just a little bit closer excuse me I'm it's going to move forward just a little bit and it was just fine absolutely he nodded and and it was great no no problem but yes of course you could do the same thing without saying something I can tell from your bio that you can read people and that's just the conclusion I've drawn and that's more important now than ever because we're hearing news items unfortunately they are so rare that they make the news but we're hearing items of somebody was asked to wear a mask and they opened fired or things of this nature you're you're seeing people who goal ball lipstick at this point in and of course you know you can see under underlying that is a level of frustration that is here to for unknown but when you're in that situation you're about to try to politely tell someone that what do you look for in terms of maybe I shouldn't be saying a word to them well isn't that the truth we all have to read the situation and I think sometimes it's it's more obvious than others in some instances people are are actually loud and voicing their opinions to just out in the air to whomever will listen you know I think this is all a bunch of who we are or whatever that is probably a person you really should just back away from and you stay safe yourself in and don't worry about big but still again be respectful move out of the way so I think you just have to read the situation sometimes you can get a look I had a a look the other day that that shocked me saying back off leave me alone and you know I'm not going to bother anyone anyway but sometimes it's with words sometimes it's just with the look and you know every now and how you get that funny feeling I would say go with that funny feeling it's it's right now in the situation you were talking about were you just move forward a couple feet so let's put you instead in a grocery line and moving forward a couple feet would put you right in the zone of another individual now course the check out line you can't move your laughter your right because there's the magazines and there's the packs of gum or what have you how do you extricate yourself from that what in that moment because and that's happening all over a lot and you've got this big heart so how are you supposed to move your car number actually what I think I would do it I felt that someone was there it was unsafe in your reading the situation you think okay this is a person who is probably not going to appreciate me saying give me do you mind moving back six feet if you get that vibe from somebody I would just say excuse me and I always am about saving face I think I forgot something move the card out and then run back out in the grocery store and swing back around and let that person go through I think you know it's all about being empathetic either as you said right you don't know where people are coming from who knows it could have just lost a loved one or we and we are also stress we're all on that last nerve we've got and I'll tell you what mine shot in so be a little more understanding a little more empathetic and and give people some Lee way take it upon yourself to get yourself out of the situation and get yourself into a safe situation yeah there's no time to make a point now you also had had mentioned in in some of the things I saw on your writing so what to do when neighbors might be too loud or things of this nature well when we have a stay at home order firstly we just get to meet our family sometimes for the first time and we're seeing domestic violence is going through the roof unfortunately everybody predicted a baby boom but perhaps it's going to go the other way but more to the point we've discovered it maybe we don't really like our neighbors we didn't have to deal with them before but now we're all especially if you're in some form apartment or condo living where you're right on top of them so when somebody has a problem in that situation and you're not going to be able to excuse yourself forever there your damn neighbor what do you do about this well you know what I recommend texting them a you know do you mind I am working from home I'm schooling children here today would you mind just please turning it down whatever the noise level is and I would ask them directly but then people say to me yes but you know what I've lived next door to somebody I don't have their number I barely know their name and that happens all the time so called the if the building if you're fortunate enough to have a a front desk or a building manager there's usually a super some somewhere somebody has the number to the to your neighbors and try to contact them that way I do not recommend going knocking on the door that's invading some space leaving a note on the door and Ian you know that creeps out a little bit but we are handling my doorknob and it you know everything else so I tried to try to do contact them directly and again most people are pretty understanding but then again with noise levels unless you just absolutely cannot stand that tried to be again a little more empathetic then you may maybe you're probably already love a wonderfully empathetic person make it even more so right now because we're all we're all stressed right now obviously you don't want to be the the neighborhood to stop but on the other hand let's say you have neighbors and you're hearing things that are concerning you not because of your safety your happiness level because maybe you feel your your your hearing domestic violence for instance and you know this is the thing that is bigger than ever because in a stay at home pandemic Dimmick escaping that can be a problem so what is a time to be a busy body and maybe call authorities and one is that over the top stay out of it well I you know and and I've read those reports to and it's just it's just gut wrenching to read that that people are in that situation so I think some luck I have never heard that next door in a in a it'll it apartment setting or somewhere that close but I think if you did hear that you would know that something is out of the ordinary and again that funny feeling you think something isn't really out of the ordinary then I would call the police I mean you could really be saving a life you could be really protecting someone at least it can be checked out if it is is that the noise level is that level and you feel that you're hearing those kinds of noises that would indicate some sort of terrible things such as a domestic violence situation is happening then you need to involve the authorities any advice for people in general come next Tuesday when I can walk out of their door in Chicago we already talked about they may may run into people who are on their last nerve but in general you're walking out the door what do you keep in the forefront of your mind get all of that you know you didn't follow the experts advise comply with that and remember to be kind try extra kind of be extra empathetic because everyone walking around feels the same way you do we all want to get back to where we were and what is this new normal going to be there this new future we don't know where you know I'm I'm actually kind of tired of hearing we're all in this together but it is so true so realize that we are all in this together and extra dose of understanding and we will get through this and be respectful respect everyone space free hi I I just can't emphasize that enough just be respectful and.

"Chance to win a thousand dollars they give you a ten back ten extra Bucks out of my own pocket if you get that stupid probable pulled I would do that I called our cash contest texted work out of users the contest up similar format too many of those that we've done in the past the last two contests were a little bit different we just came off of wide that we have the contest that was not read by one of our local announces it was a recorded message for that contest interestingly I don't know that we had any winners at it you know if we did it's like people don't pay attention if it's not be reading the word this guide yes the is of similar format to many of those that we've had in the past the price is a thousand dollars we've got a couple of contests to reward the different prices with the thousand dollar price he texted a word hundreds of stations around the country are reading the same word and you'll have until the end of the hour that we're headed this case the end of the Intel sixty up to tech support and add big computer at I heart it's the letter out of all of the entries and they what a thousand dollars in cash and just phenomenal for a station are size in a market our side somebody winners about over the years in this type of contest the so that's the girl that it's going to go on for into the middle of next month so it's going to run for a while on my show it will always be four and five in the afternoon and on the Friday show which had a larger do it before five o'clock and then the other eggs a WYSIWYG eat canned and do it it's never before the beginning of the hour it's always after sometimes a moment or two minute or two would sometimes log that that but it's in the first half of the hours when it's going to be at in my case I generally try to do it between about all one at all fifteen every now and then it'll slip and after that all that build up the word for this hour is banks BA NK bag you have as I said until six o'clock takes bank to two hundred two hundred is that we want a thousand dollars in cash you'll get a text confirming entry plus I already what was the other data message rates apply in this nationwide contest lots of football stuff over the weekend let me focus on the Mike McCarthy story since I mean not only with the super weapon a coach agreed that he was here for a lot of years that I think there was a lot of interest in people wondering where he was going to laugh at I think it's undeniable that McCarthy was picking and choosing his spots now he was order your agreed bad I think that's the reason he didn't coach last year he was able to tell if he would have taken a new job he would not have got is greed bay body about about a wash so why not just take the money relax for a year hectic your your life at all of that stuff it so what is there to greet bad by this time and it was clear given the fact that he interviewed for several different jobs that he wanted to return to coaching this coming season and twenty twenty he interviewed with a lot of teams add he decided to take the Dallas job I believe he could have been off it would have been had the opportunity to take several of these jobs first of all there aren't any superstar assistance this year they were all kind of snapped up the last two or three years a team that had a tremendous yet all of the the she had a hand free produced a couple of guys like the floor and so wide there isn't this logical standout Geyer to Josh McDaniels bad you does they've that floated right out of New England for ever and ever and ever so that there weren't there weren't a zillion of them there also weren't that many cases of really successful head coaches that were out there on the market any interested like McCarthy of so McCarthy I think opted for Dallas out of perhaps other opportunities including I think you're getting Caroline and so odd Washington I think was determined to get Ron Rivera he interviewed in New York with the giants it's so what no guarantees about Carthy but I think you picked the right spot don't you IBM I the ideal situation is somebody who has done it recently but you know had different jobs the ideal situation I think it's the go in somewhere where there isn't success but the opportunities to succeed both Dallas is bad under a cheat I think Dallas in the last decade is the biggest underachieving team in terms of the talent that they've had in the NFL they have had over the years tremendous talent in the Jason Garrett years a couple of times a really really good but have never been able to get very far in the playoffs and often didn't make it and I think it's accurate I I'll people can argue this week I think the Dallas was the most underachieving team in the NFL this year they have a quarterback that was that's what talked about is an MVP candidate they have one of the best running backs in the NFL they have an excellent defense stat wise I think one of the two would Ford number two offences for defense or vice versa or something like this and there they are with the five hundred record going no where it's been the same case for ever and ever and ever a Jerry Jones who you get the impression is a micro manager impacted showed incredible patience and sticking with Jason Garrett so what McCarthy does is he gets to go get a value almost have to have a quarterback he goes somewhere where he's got a quarterback he's got a running back he's gotta build it offense of TV's got a veteran team there's a lot of talent that's there so is opportunity to succeed immediately exists as for well it's got to be difficult working for Jerry Jones I suspect Jerry Jones medals but clearly Jerry Jones isn't wanted he's not like stay better was if the Yankees or not leaving like Washington but they're always firing coaches he gives you a lot of role I think you're gonna have to put up with these import Eddie is the general manager which most orders all right but I don't think Jones is that a terrible job as general manager in Dallas he's put out tremendous talent out there also McCarthy remember the TV was most frustrated I've a Green Bay had a cat top cities Ted Thompson would not make moves during the season to try to win it he just wouldn't do it he wouldn't go and pick up guys in the middle of the year yeah McCarthy just chafed under this will generate chokeholds all do that and we see what the trend now with the NFL is some guys that are baggage your way to the end of the year and sign up for the playoffs like Seattle with Marshawn Lynch will Jones will do that for part for McCarthy so no guarantees to McCarthy but I think he went to the right spot will he succeed they're hot wide I don't know we this practice is a maybe announces that may not even know I suspect Marvin Lewis is the defensive coordinator and that's why the interview the bought the book by I suspect that's Jones is up to these entry by Marvin Lewis said he wants to get McCarthy a guy who can run the defense of the car to give his full attention to the office and Barbara Lewis was a long time head coach in Cincinnati Becky was in Cincinnati is logs McCarthy was agree bay identical circumstances maybe that won't be the case and who knows of Louis want to do it but I wouldn't be shocked at that so I think it's a good move for McCarthy had I can't say I wish it well because I don't want the cowboys to do well and I would have preferred to be gone outside the conference going into the air sea but I think it's a pretty good landing spot for McCarthy and I suspect he'll do well there I made a lot of people do I I this think with in Green Bay every seat in retrospect it was just hype but he had tremendous success here read he had some weaknesses the head coach undeniably on a lot of strengths I think his strength was game planning his week this was he didn't adapt very well and kept running the same offense to the same ski week after week after week after week but I think you'll do well the Dallas down there and he's inheriting a situation as I say where you can't under achieve any worse than Jason Garrett did it I just I just fell Jason's Europe for ever had that deer in the headlights look to the game was but why is he always would have a strong offensive coordinator and a strong defensive coordinator you wondered really with Garrett's job wise whereas if McCarthy's case we noticed style as he watched the complete control of the offense and hire a defensive coordinator who pretty much gets to decide what he wants to deal with some over cited I suspect you'll see the same thing there that whether it's Marvin Lewis or not they'll be a big name big time defensive coordinator will run the defense was some oversight by McCarthy but McCarthy will take total command of the op and to be a charge of that so Paul says he's reunited with Randall Cobb to well there's that that is one of the backside Dallas that they always get guys two years at past their pride but graft wise the last several years the press got drafted the reading back to Ohio state Dallas is reading back yeah Elliott is Jones and the people that I work at five and made some pretty good draft choices so I I think they're in pretty good shape but I think the McCarthy landed in the best place for him certainly better than going into New York weight which is just giants have underachieved for ever and ever and ever they haven't succeeded sense I Coughlin was there ready he he pulled those super bowls out of out of his cap and plus the whole media environment I mean it's not like there's not a lot of media attention to Dallas with the New York thing is just more difficult in New York is I think in a rebuilding New York does have a young quarterback who might be something what yeah they got they have they have what it might be something but in Dallas I mean you've got Prescott who's at the peak of his abilities so that's my thoughts on McCarthy hi fi fortinos talk eleven thirty W. I said it's time for rapid traffic.

I come back to the people's Republic of Ann Arbor I'm sitting on the front porch. of this crazy insane hippie house under a thousand people living there of which I'm one with my girlfriend I'm so the front porch and I'm planning to turn this guy walks up when he says to play and I said no Somers game is. is it what is it is it what you want to learn some things as sure he said I'm up on the top floor plan if you want to get together and play I you know I get off work he was doing some electrical stuff sure next thing I know every day I'm hanging out drinking beer with this guy any show me things for example let's say how to Steve Cropper do that here. Tommy musical theory the music thirty rather I mean he just we got deep of learning stuff in the end he pretty much up to scold me and so. we're gonna diss I'll never forget or a party bunch people run and this guy picks up an acoustic guitar off in a corner was come like that scene out of animal house were what's his name is on the spirit to go to get that. and he starts playing that song right there hello stranger on the cruise guitar and singing in every chicken place one to take him home and I thought this is the power of the. no those kind of songs in the I mean I never morphed into that kind of stuff for the this guy could do anything and anyways to do that's right there hello stranger and I'm I'm let me how should I put this delicately on the radio every girl got up. she melted that was what it was yeah yeah they melted it was unbelievable I mean it just and rapture listens guy plan hello stranger because occur. I'm thoroughness alternative bought music Friday and from time to time I go off on a tangential leap and think all kinds of crazy stuff you have got a clue you know it's gonna backer I close my eyes I see sparks to not. you can tell pals about this I wish you would we look to spread the word on the show and we archive at zero dot com that's a crucially important because usually what we're doing here is we're not doing this affect I'm rerunning the nine eleven show the show that happened on September eleventh scurry run on a Sunday night after the official music show which is the bone conduction music show of which this is somewhat of a. generation whatever aside products and anyway that after that we run a an archive of on the edge and so you're you're gonna be blown away if you didn't it's in the archive non zero dot com but you can pick it up then to those could be good stuff tell anybody about that I'm anxiously awaiting I just I just learned something last night I've been going over and checking out John wick three John with three Linda it finally is reasonable you know how they stick it up their anyone watching your mom and I want to see John with three an abuse of sixteen dollars no way. I don't know what they're I know what you're thinking here's what they're doing when you're on demand looking for movies and something just just releases so to speak it's already been the theaters and all that but what they're doing is they're figure in. Friday Saturday night. a mom a dad maybe couple kids whatever they're they're laying around or or couple whatever and they're laying around and they want to watch a movie and we stick it up there for say seventeen eighteen Bucks whatever they're going to do it because it's the same as going to the movie and what is the movie now like ten Bucks for a ticket plus you get got probably the guy next year on the cell phone Crooklyn potato chip bags things like that and our debt so that's what they're doing and they're getting it people are going for that I'm sure otherwise it would leave up there for like the for so long takes forever but John wick now. is available to the general public so I think I know what I'll be doing later tonight by the way my lovely wife whenever we had to go to movies with the general public but whenever we go somebody was crackling touch it back she would almost could be in a five by turns and stop that she did that wants to three huge black guys and I thought oh my god you know I'm gonna I'm gonna get my **** kicked now this okay they put. you're on the edge alternate about music Friday. we said it somewhere how do.

"In our in our employment we may look forward just to making new friends but there's one thing universally that we all look forward to without question without doubt without qualification we all look forward to the start of the NFL season be still my beating heart Ford is upon us it is started in other cities beginning last weekend and now tonight the two thousand and nineteen Cincinnati Bengals NFL season begins in Kansas city eight o'clock kick off in an exhibition game against the chefs now a couple of things about this because last night I couldn't sleep on rice was I'd bet rarely sleep always up at about four thirty this morning and when I get off it's kinda like yeah I just can't lay back down flip the pillow up and go back to sleep and I think I told you that I have a little note pad that I leave right next to my to my bed right where the light is so when I do wake up and I get these thoughts these these inspirations I write them down and I would recommend that to anybody to because if you dream about something if you think about something of that something hits you in the middle of the night just scribble it down because then then you'll be able to remember that in the morning it's some of some of the ways that great music is written inspirations come to artists in the middle of the night Joe Walsh for example did that Keith Richards did that Paul McCartney did that and I raise all of this because the inspiration the revelation that I had at four thirty tonight well I guess just a few hours ago right maybe I don't know I can't do math eight hours ago whatever the revolution got the revelation that I had in the middle of last night about the two thousand and nineteen Cincinnati Bengals is that we will learn absolutely nothing about them tonight no I'm not running down the product because we carry the games here in the I heart media cluster it's it's great you've got an NFL team where the home of the NFL team but at this point in the season we will learn virtually nothing about this team what's examine the evidence one Joe makes in will not play we know that the head coach told us that two G. O. Bernard will not play we know that the head coach told us that three Tyler I will note will not play we know that the head coach told us that for AJ green will not play we know that he's hurt probably gonna miss some games in the regular season the wide receiver they drafted in two thousand and seventeen who is widely ban I thank viewed as a bust there's a wasted draft pick to this point now we're not writing off whatever John Ross can do from this point forward but I think by and large for sake of of conversation this the guy's been a complete bust why I know no low low low low **** might my producer Dave's waving at me through the other side of the glass yes yes yes I know he caught some touchdown passes last year and that's good because that's what he's paid to do but dude has been a ghost since the end of last season he arrived at training camp hurt so I don't know what kind of things were going through his mind in the off season but you don't do anything except run the wrong routes and don't fight for fifty fifty balls and leave your quarterback hang in and then you show up hurt for training camp if I am his employer I got a problem with that but that's all the side he's not playing tonight so with all of those quote unquote skilled players missing what are we going to learn any adult is suddenly going to come out in a Superman Cape he suddenly going to become Tom Brady my god is his offense of line at this point appears to be a group the couldn't block the doorway now all of a sudden we're going to learn something from them tonight their number one draft pick is hurt out for the season the most versatile offense of linemen retired rather than coming back in order to millions this season so I don't really know what we're going to find out from that side of the ball conversely on the other side of the ball I expect that you will see psalm of Gino actions that you will see psalm of Carlos Dunlap that you'll see some of the starters but not a lot you'll see them may be you poured two series this game started what eight oh five for all intents and purposes interest will be done by eight fifteen Carl Lawson whom so many day can be a great player in this league and I count myself among those I think he was on his way to superstar status before we got we got hurt last year stop playing tonight I say all of that not to run down the bangles I don't think anyone really expect them to be great this year I don't think anyone expects them to be even good this year but I say it because of the folly of of exhibition football this this ritual this this right of of each NFL season where everybody gets a geek about games that don't count and key players don't play in I think most NFL fans are saying this is got it and there's absolutely no reason for a football team to go to training camp in July there's absolutely no reason for a football team to play for exhibition games remember they were cold exhibition games before someone in the NFL office said mom you know when we say that we probably yeah we you know then then the people to buy the season tickets will think that we're trying to police them exhibition we need to call them pre season games that's the inception of that but they are exhibition games that's all they are you tell me when they start keeping score and then I'll become interested but there's no reason for training camps beginning July there's no reason to play for exhibition games you can begin training camp August the first you can have ten days of practice your play two games then you figure out what you got somebody gets hurt knows two games okay you go find some players to replacement till they get healthy again so tonight although I am you know I'm stoked that the the the bangles are back and we can actually see what if any changes have been made since the our departure Barbara Lewis in the arrival of Zach Taylor I'm very excited about that I know what I'm going to get and what I'm going to get basically is not a lot and yeah you can say well it's the start of the season and wake me up in three weeks when they play that third exhibition game at all you got all of that aside we're going to learn a lot tonight we learned a lot about anything about the Browns anything about the giants we learn anything about any of these teams that played either on Thursday or Friday of this week so so so so much my point all of this is let's cut down the exhibition season what to do what the owners want to do which is make more money with more games account and let's get out of some of that money to the players a healthy chunk of it so that they not only make eighteen game tracks instead of sixteen they also make a little bit more money than that and then let's go with this every single year it's just what do you learn I don't know I'm not the lord anything about this team tonight then I'll tell you something else to is thinking about this this morning you know the number one goal is of every single head coach in the NFL all thirty two of them every single head coach in the NFL before every single one of these exhibition games the number one goal for them is in finding out about whether or not a player can play a certain position not finding out who your third string guard is going to be not not finding out who's the best special teams player I got none of that the number one goal of every NFL coach at this time of the year is get no one hurt get no one hurt the greatest nightmare for Jack Taylor tonight will be any one of his starters getting hurt any of them because that is absolute devastation for these guys so the folly of NFL football in August will continue and is continuing that I'm still long nightmare is over we get a chance to see what the bangles can actually do against another team all of the side I don't think you or me or even them are going to know anything more about this team that we know sitting here right now at twelve seventeen on a Saturday afternoon seven four nine seven thousand one eight hundred the big one pound seven hundred on eighteen anti I mean you are yeah I I'm guessing you're going to either listen or watch this game tonight do you think you're going to find anything about it yeah they're gonna find anything about this team find out anything about it that you don't already know and if you are what is it it like me tell me what what should I be looking for tonight please enlighten may I know what Tyler Boyd can do I know I know what Andy Dalton can do I would Carlos Dunlap could I've seen it I know each and everyone of them are good and in some cases like Gino Watkins they're great don't need to see that know that already but isn't it isn't it isn't it really and truly about not getting anyone hurt don't get anyone heard tonight seven four nine seven thousand one eight hundred the big one pound seven hundred on eighteen T. are you excited looking forward to it I am are you really going to learn anything please tell me let me know on what to look for we'll get to all of that in just a second on the show today a lot of eclectic things what people want sleep divorces because they can't stand their partner snoring and now it's even entered prenuptial agreements we'll get into that why workers in a lot of instances why workers in a lot of companies are simply zombie workers just going about their task having no idea what they're doing or any interest in what they're doing and how you can not become one of them but if you appoint one of them how you can energize them so they're not expecting the entire workplace also on the show today one of your Jeffrey obscene opt out took the chicken way out hung himself that's what they.

"I very serious. I charge again. I take back. What I said. I might be wrong. But I mean, the Bengals yes, they have problems like they don't have the best personnel. But they do have a couple of good players. Yeah. Yes, they do. And like their receivers are good tower. Boyd looks pretty good. Yes. And like you said compared to the Bengals the chiefs personnel wise bingo's to the dolphins. Oh, I was talking about just tyreek hill. Gotcha. Yeah. And I was told Joe mixing I would say that the chiefs are better at damage control. Because I don't remember. I don't I don't. I completely forgot about tyrod kills charge. So, but I yeah, I'm taking that back. What I said. But overall, I'm going to say the fact that Cincinnati just never seemed very attractive to me. They don't seem like they can win now or the next day of the skyline chili though have you ever read skyline. Chili. No, I don't like I'm not a big fan of I never had either. But apparently, it's amazing. I would rather. But I'd rather drained after after those two years, then the dolphins are gonna go all out. I feel like and what if they still suck because their ownership has been the same for a long time. And they can't seem to win Cincinnati is the same exact way. I know. But at least it's been like, I don't know they've been to the plus a few times in at least in the mix. Miami's like never in the mix. They weren't in the playoffs on too long. They last year. Yeah. Yeah. There they got knocked out. So it's not crazy talk thing. They can get back there. It's not crazy. But they're also I just think that we're talking about going. I personally believe that the dolphins ownership is better than the Cincinnati ownership. I mean is it. Yes. Have you seen since Annie's ownership, and what they let their the I made like image running these silent over there. I mean, what is Miami done? They're both the same to me. They're both bad. They're both bottom five. Like, I don't know. So why not go to the place saying one? Better than the others. Like is it what I say better. I don't mean. Superior mainland. Just it's it seems like it's more organized over there in the weather's better. I'll give him that. But I'm just saying Miami seems a little more organized. And I just know I think a better area to be a coach in then Cincinnati in where it feels like it's it's always like Barbara Lewis was always against his players. His players were always kinda revolting. We'll both of these places are not getting enough for Mike McCarthy because he's decided to sit out the rest of the rest of the year in terms of coach, you know, as a coach head coach for like a decade. He probably just needs a break. Aguirre to just turn off the batteries, probably or he just doesn't wanna get caught up with either of those two franchises or what what other or get? It'd be available who knows? But we'll get to take a short break. I I wanna talk to you about audible. When this audio books in as far as us motivates us, even brings us closer..

"Either of you guys should be raising your voice, right? And they were that was a mess for the Vikings vers immer the bears. I actually think Mike Zimmer might murder. Cousins might go on Craigslist or probably just Google type into were document like how to hire hitman or just go to Cincinnati. Yeah. No, seriously, Alex designs, and goes coaches Cincinnati. I could actually see that happening, and he would probably cut any Dolan for causing. He just remind him too much of Kirk. Like, I'd rather go this Driscoll. Right. So I would pack and fourth. I obviously like I said I'd rather play the or the guns in the eagles. But Matt Nagy after the game was like, look, we just love to win winning his fun, and we're not gonna stop. So I'm actually all in on the don't take your foot off the gas. Don't tell guys like, hey, don't play your heart out just beat the shit out of people and go into the place with swagger. Okay. I like it see you say that because it worked. We'll know. I say that because I understand the quote after the mentality of like, hey, we got something rolling. The worst thing. You can do right now is, hey, let's let's take our foot off the gas in. And we'll you know, the whole situation. I played out where the Vikings like, oh, they wanna play us again. Yeah. It's one of those weird situ. Nations where if if you did what most people call the smart thing and like void injury. It's that's actually not a quality. You would want in your team. That's going to succeed and we already got injured anyway cut injured, which is a problem. Yeah. Well, he is he going to try to play through it because he's got a shoulder. That's that's one of those hilarious injuries. Where like it's dislocated. And they pop it back, and I can go, but every time you. All you reach behind yourself to put your seatbelt on pops out again. And then you just like he just he gets out of his he gets like three yards out of his route. And it's like, yeah. He can't jerk off anymore. Yeah. Well, other hand. Yeah. They're stranger. So we'll do a full preview of the playoffs on Friday. And we have to now move to black Monday. The saddest thing in the world to talk about these millionaire coaches getting fired from their jobs and maybe having to go be coordinator somewhere. Listen because they've got families salts or you ready for this. The scariest thing of all they might have to go on TV that'd be rough. It might have to go get paid half a million dollars to be on ESPN. They might have to go to college to college program. For awhile, though, don't say the bio that would you think they'd have to recruit. That's the remember when try whatever I wouldn't wish that on my my worst enemy to to go get paid a million dollars to recruit they've got families, though is what you're forgetting their families. We'll have to fund new private school in a different city. We had eight we have eight openings, and we have to lead off with the one that we never saw coming two thousand three since two thousand three Marvin Lewis has been the coach Cincinnati Bengals and the best part that would Barbara Lewis getting fired. It was almost like watching death Twitter..
