"83 65 Gonzaga knocked off great to advance to the elite eight, the first of the day. Here's your schedule the rest of the day yet ready for Michigan and Florida State. That tip comes up in about 33 minutes. Alabama U C L, A 7 15 Eastern, the 2 11 matchup. In the East region, and we will finish out the sweet 16 with an all Pac 12 fair. USC and Oregon the 67 matchup with the right to move on later on and take on Gonzaga on Tuesday night. Now Kevin Kugler and P. J. Carlesimo will have that to finish out tonight, but they've got Michigan and Florida State. Coming up next Bankers Life Fieldhouse and they've got us caught up on what to expect. Give What you expect is a really intriguing matchup between two schools from the power six conferences. Florida State, of course, from the A. C. C in Michigan, representing the Big 10 conference, and we thought there'd be a lot more big 10 talk based on the season that the Big 10 conference had. But Michigan's the loans team surviving Rigorous start to the converts into the tournament for the Big 10 conference, but the number one seed in the east, the Michigan Wolverines. They've been in Indianapolis P. J since March, 11th When they got here for the Big 10 tournament. They I believe a residents now. Of the state of Indiana. But this is a really balanced solid squad for Juwan Howard and his coaching staff. It truly is and again a 14 is what you're supposed to get in this round of the playoffs, but you look around the rest of the bracket. You don't see that it also on paper. This is gonna be a great matchup. Michigan, Even with the loss of Isaiah Livers is just a very, very deep team. They play on both ends of the floor. They got good size. They rebounded. They shoot the three. There's really nothing they don't do. They've got Excellent play, uh, at the point guard position. They take care of the ball very, very well. And Juwan Howard has just done a magnificent job. We're talking a second year coach now admittedly. He had. Ah went to a pretty good school six years at Miami Heat University, and he came in very, very well prepared. He's got excellent assistance, and this team reflects they like him. They play for him. He can be demanding. Uh, And yet they represent Michigan basketball very, very well. Michigan might like to see if Juwan Howard had one game left of eligibility because this might be the game to use it. When you look at Florida State, and you say what stands out about Florida State, The first thing that stands out is how many of them stand up tall. This is a giant team. Every scholarship player on the roster is six, FT four Or bigger. I look at Michigan I look atyou Juan and he's telling me about the link. I said, What are you talking about? But he's right for the state down there. Warming up, Uh, in front of us. They are literally the biggest team particularly when you look at the guys who play the ones that are out there. So no surprise, Uh, it effects you know, people say yeah, they're good rebounding team, But guess what else they are. Very good defensively. They use that link very, very well. We saw that a little bit. With Baylor and Houston yesterday. That length really allows him to defend, defend full court. They get their hands on a lot of balls. Very, very good team and again, let it kind of quietly is on a great two year run. They won the A C C last year for the first time ever the first time in a long time, and they were second this year, right till the end, and they, you know, they came up short to Virginia. So this is an experienced team, a talented team. I think a very confident team. Leonard made an interesting point. The fact that they lost to Notre Dame and the end of the regular season then they didn't win in the tournament. They didn't win the regular season. That kind of have a little chip on their shoulders. They felt that kind of let a couple things get away from themselves. This is an opportunity to prove just how good they are. Well, they are a team that can put points on the board in a hurry. They've never led the A cc and scoring, But this year they're going to their number one of the A. C C 78 points per game. Because they shoot the three as well as they do the best, A C C three point shooting team. They'll go against the Michigan team that went against a lot of good offenses in the Big 10 this year, and they were the best defensive team. For most of the season and the big 10, allowing just 64 points per game against Big 10 competition, and it's they defend very well again because they're disciplined, but it's really interesting, Kevin. We put the stats together for the two teams, and I'm looking at where they both rated respectively in the A, C. C and in the Big 10 and then the national stats. They mirror each other in a lot of categories, So we've got to Teams with experience with size, they can play both ends of the floor. They're very well coached on paper. This is gonna be a great matchup, and I hope it just turns out that way. 14 should be a heck of a matchup. We've got an odd match up in our second game on from a seeding. You'll see a lot of 67 matchup show up at this round of the N C. A a tournament But not only do we have a 67. Between USC in Oregon. We have the rematch of a game that was played just a month ago in Pac 12 play and a game in which U. S. C dominated an excellent Oregon team on the defensive end. They hold organ to 58 points. And if you think Dana Altman and his coaching staff and that team have for gotten about that Well, let me assure you, they have certainly not forgotten. They remember that game very well. Well, I think a lot of people didn't realize just how good defensive team USC Woz told the Kansas game and that kind of people were like World and truth be told They were playing zone most of that game. They just packed it in. And Kansas really had trouble shooting the ball very well. They're mainly a man to man team. They're an exceptional defensive team. There are great rebounding team. And both of them caught a break. It's nice when it's the second game of the weekend, although I don't even know what day it is anymore. But when you have to play with one day's rest to play somebody else.

Kevin Kugler Dana Altman P. J. Carlesimo Tuesday night Kevin 58 points Juwan Howard two year USC six years March, 11th last year Juan Florida State second game Miami Heat University Houston yesterday Michigan Wolverines Indianapolis P. J

"For music, radio and podcasts, all in one. Just ahead of headlines, Traffic and weather together. Remember, it was last March March, 11th is here. Basketball tournament was about ready to get underway. They were conference tournaments going on, and everything got halted by the pandemic. And there was no March Madness. Yeah. Well, yesterday, they announced that the entire N C. A. A tournament will take place in Indianapolis. Which is kind of cool. What they're saying is, uh, the Bankers. Life Fieldhouse, Home of the MBA is Indiana Pacers and WNBA's Indiana Fever Along with Lucas Oil Stadium. Hinkle feed filled House, the historic home of the Butler Bulldogs, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, where the pulley JAG wires play are close to downtown. And if you're playing at the Fieldhouse or Lucas Oil Stadium It's within walking distance of hotels and restaurants in downtown Indianapolis. They want to go bubble. That is going to be a large bubble. It's a large bubble. You're talking 67 games to be played 67 games and they're gonna do it all in Indianapolis. I don't care if they play a month, Saturn As long as there's a tournament. My whole year. Last year was kind of just thrown off by the pandemic. And the fact that there was no March Madness. Yeah, that was the beginning of the buzz Kill in the sports world. Yes, it was. I remember it like it was yesterday and think about it, Indiana. Larry Larry Bird, Oscar Robinson. I mean, just people come from their their basket. That's a basketball state. Yeah, and Indianapolis kind of like San Antonio downtown walking distance. They actually have bridges that are enclosed. It collect connect downtown restaurants to let's say, Lucas Oil Stadium or the bankers Life Fieldhouse. They change the name of that place and drives me nuts. You can walk in these walkways so you don't have to be outside. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's a good idea s O. I wonder, you know, certain family members can see that's it. Okay. No other fans. I'm kind of family members, and I think you have to get cleared and tested.

"Pacers Celtics bankers life Fieldhouse tomorrow afternoon at one pm make baseball San Diego, the reds still lead the Padres there. In the bottom of the eighth inning leading four to one again. Jesse Winker with a home run in the seventh inning for the reds, also Yalcin twig, Tucker, Barnhart and Jose a Glaziev each with an RBI for the red legs in this game. Four one bottom of the eighth with network. Indiana sports. I'm rob. Welcome back. Everyone NFL draft is Thursday. Can't talk about it without talking to the man himself. Our colts expert, and Joe stays NIA Kello Joe how you doing coach to gray got to see my boy placing lacrosse today in over college breaks a school record for wins in a single season today. My guy goes for four goals, three assists. He said he said a strong April. He was. They were good. They're they're they're good. They're my grandson, Jack Wheeler is leading the conference in shooting percentages twenty first in the country, and they're really really good. And you. Good time. Now, the weather was miserable. Could not have been any worse, but you endure that and so that's we had a good day. So thought I'd talk talk to you about some some some NFL draft next jurors day. So tell me is the most interesting one of my traditions here is we lead up to Easters watch Matang commandments. Ryan Moses, just parted the Red Sea relent mazing how we talk at this time. And and kinda like what Chris Ballard last. You did miraculously right somewhat. Iraqi what's what he did with all eleven graphics. Make them seem. And I'm still trying hard to see how I'm trying to see how you make the transition from Charlton Heston and jolt Heston porting parting the Red Sea and Chris Ballard. So I think that's pretty creative to be honest and not very. Many sports talk shows have guest you're able to pull this off. After eleven o'clock. Or maybe after eleven is the reason why you're able to pull it off. I mean, you want to look at it that way to be honest. But no, right. You know, let's be fair. His first year end people want exactly overwhelmed by that first draft. But the second one was pretty good. Yeah. There were so many holes to fill and you know, that was just one of the deals in it. And I think Chris would tell you to we'll talk to them on Monday. We've got our global scheduled, you know, pre trapped program for them on Monday at noon, and I think he would admit to there's how how do you? There's just no way that you could predict that you would hit on all eleven guys. Right. The team. But of course, you got the only guy was able to play for you because he wanted I are. But you know, he's going to come back this year and help you with that wide receiver with debt. And you know, when you go from here knowing Chris he wants to Bill through the office of indeed. Offensive lines. And right now. You think he got a short term solution with with Justice Houston being able to sign him to a two year deal. But you still need to get a pass rush. If you look at what you know, basically the colts had two quarterbacks that were any any ilk at all last year at Brady and the homes, if they wanna get stay had a bunch of second tier third tier guys if they went against this year, just in the first five games. I mean, you're gonna you're gonna start off against Philip rivers. You're gonna get Marcus mariota you get Batty ice Atlanta run. It really is amazing. And they get three plays later. You get that you've got some fantastic quarterbacks. And we all know that in order to beat those quarterbacks you'd better get pressure on them and the colts raven manufacturer little bit of pressure here and there for different ways of doing it basic group, but you gotta be more. You gotta have the Justin Houston type guys that are gonna you know, strike the fear into offenses. And so I think they go I still think they go defensive lines. I, and I think it's going to be a, you know, rush that quarterback by committee kind of a deal you're gonna get KOMO co two Ray with a second year, you get Tai Kwon Lewis with a full year under his belt. You know, you signed guys like Margus hunt back who had career you just really played. Well, since he's been since they've been here the system all shared is going to be able to, you know, have all opportunities when he's opposite adjusting he's gonna have opportunity to really do some some things and you still need help on defense. You still need another cornerback needs some safety help and you still need a wide receiver. So I think those are the three basic positions defensive line pass rush. You get the defensive back and the wide receiver, and that's pretty much. I think the focus here in the first three rounds, and especially the first three picks the colts. Have they got three in the first fifty nine? They've got four in the first eighty nine. W to target some of those positions with some really good talent. Really good playing know in this day and age with the NFL gotta have a quarterback, right? Who can play we have one. You gotta protect him and this offense line with suspend near and dear to your heart is a former offensive lineman. They did a spectacular job in things. Look good for the future on the other side. You got to be able to put pressure on the quarterback. Right. So what you're talking about is those are some specific needs and shoe doesn't hurt to have some lockdown guys in the defensive backfield who can play right and peer to Sears guy that they they signed to three year contract, and you still pick the leak hookers got all kinds of opportunities to get better. And better as each stay healthy. But you know, the offense of lines got an interesting, I spent was last night wasn't it. I spent the last night at MC an works banquet for for one of the recovery places here in town. And what are the guys that was in the crowd? It was really neat deal. Because awesome Eubanks is -vivor from Columbine high school. He was Ryan beaker and a couple of guys are the criteria that Jim mercy was one of the sponsors of this event. And Howard was one of the guys that had come to the event. And of course, our decades ago was my officer coach in Kansas City, 'cause he had been here work with Peyton Manning, Saturday Tareq lead that ilk of in that timeframe in and I told him I said, I gotta talk. I wanna talk to you got to play this for people. I want people to know what it's like to kind of do what you're doing it, you know, over seventy years old, but to be able to have as much experiences a player in as a coach in the successfully sad, but to be. Able to come back and be able to continue to this. And he's basically, you know, Chris trouser is still the office of line cause of new offense like coach even with the success. The colts have had they let Dave do go. And and still some question marks as far as what happened there? It may be has to do with how he handled guys. But to have a new offense of line. Coach was a success. They had to have a guy like Howard budget just be able to pull stuff from. And of course, Frank Reich knows how they were on the same staff you with Peyton with Frank was quarterback coach and Howard was a line coach Phil just able to pull all these things together. So the experiences coming through I think the offensive lineman, even though that you've got several young guys are really going to have an Howard Mudan there. Howard Howard, a different added coach he's the first coach that I sat down in a meeting room with we'd watch film, and he goes. How would you guys like the bought this? What do you think we can do to make this better? I'm here. I will go to that coach and tell them this way, we're going to do it. But I wanna know the wait. And as a player himself. I it's just it's a phenomenal thing to have. So they're they're not only going to be a year better just from experience. But they're gonna have a lot more experience to draw from from the coaching staff. And I think that's gonna make you be better. It'd be fun to watch these guys this year. All right, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, man. Oh, man a lot going on. And then they come in for practice. It's it before we know it we're going to be playing again. And they're looking at one of the toughest schedules. As you mentioned in the in the NFL. Yeah. The last I saw I think it was it was seventh. Right something like that. They had Houston was up there along with the Jacksonville. And of course, Tennessee all of us. I'll were the top ten and that just kind of goes to show because of the conference was pretty good. I think the conference is going to be a good again or division is going to be good again. And you know, it it you. Got a good set of quarterbacks in this division to Shawn Watson back full year full season, healthy Cadillac. Andrew luck is doing this year. Nick foles new quarterback in Jacksonville. What would they be able to do and Marcus mariota? You gotta keep him healthy. But you know, I I actually talked to their head coaches during the combine and former house state guide. He he said, you know, what we do. We got a slowdown. We had a slow down or what? But I think they're going to try and do it the old style pain the way they used to do before with a running game. And with Marcus mariota. Joe? You're the best. You're the absolute best of great to talk to you have fun this week. And we'll catch up with you next weekend, epi cer- coach, thanks so much. Joe? Same to you take care. Come back scoreboard update with Tom cotton. And we'll talk a little racing on Indiana sports talk..

"Ninety-three WIBC. Rob KENDALL, infertility cats. Good morning. Thanks so much for joining us coming up later in the show today. Pay attention audience participation will be required. Put a long standing theory. I've had about Indiana voters to the test. And I'm gonna need you to either affirm or reject this very long held very important hypothesis. I have about you puzzle speak with Jim Merritt, Indiana, Senator Jim Martin he is the chairman of the Republican pockets in the Senate, of course, legislative session set to begin next week. But most importantly, the big rumor is he is going to announce that he is going to run can smear hog set on the Republican side for the mayor of Indianapolis. We're gonna get into what I believe will be one of two key issues for the next mayor to address how these candidates choose to address them will likely decide who the next mayor is that being addressing what's going on right in front of our building. Not just because. It's in front of our building, but all around the circle and throughout much of greater Indianapolis, homelessness panhandling. And now these people who are addicted to drugs, and as I've said as our friend of Dula said they're gonna get violent sooner rather than later and something something has to be done about this. So we'll get into that in just a little bit. But first big big sports weekend starts today. One thirty the Purdue Boilermakers chance to really not just put a stamp on this season. But most importantly, set the tone for years to come. They're going to be taking on Auburn in the the music city bowl that is coming up at one thirty today again Brom with the new contract chance for Perdue on a national stage to really impress some. Some potential recruits and take a big step forward. So we'll see if they can do that then tonight Pacers. They are at home twenty three and twelve. Yeah. Eleven games over five hundred Pacers. Having a great year they will take on the Detroit Pistons who enter at sixteen at sixteen tonight. Of course, that's Blake Griffin. See Blake Griffin play tonight bankers life Fieldhouse. And then tomorrow Notre Dame. Cotton Bowl taking on Clemson four o'clock for the right to lose to Alabama next week. Of course, Alabama gun Oklahoma immediately following that game so chance for Notre Dame. They're in the final four tenths play for the national championship. Gotta get past. Clemson. I Notre Dame heavy underdog in that game. Probably the way it's going to go. But you never know luck of the Irish undefeated season for Notre Dame on the line. And then of course, Sunday night, the big one. Yes, the colts fighting for their playoff life win. And they're in eight twenty Sunday night football colts take on the titans. And if the colts win not only is there a chance they could be in the place where they will be in the playoffs. But there's a chance that could be division. So they colts win and a Texans loss of you are a sports fan. Not just football basketball. Sit back relax going to be a phenomenal weekend of sports here in the Hoosier state and across central Indiana. Ninety three WABC rob kindle it for Tony cats coming up next generic big rumor is he's gonna dance he's going to run for the mayor of Indianapolis had a chance to sit down and chat with him about what I think should be the top one of the top two priorities. He's dealing with homelessness panhandling. And drug addiction.

"At bankers life Fieldhouse. So we're talking. About the issue of Alzheimer's, which affects a lot of people across state of Indiana, live and affected my family personally. It's interesting Natalie because sometimes when it comes to family members remember this with my own family girly on even though Alzheimer's most suspected I had a lot of siblings who who just weren't quite ready to accept that. Just yet. Yeah. It is very difficult diagnosis to accept right? Alzheimer's, progressive brain disorder and currently there's no way to slop stop or slow the progression of the disease. So, you know, in some cases with family, that's a reality that we don't want to face, but at the Alzheimer's Association where big proponents of really recognizing signs of the disease, recognizing those changes that are more than just normal aging. You know, there's a difference. And when families really recognize that and seek a diagnosis for their loved ones. They can plan. And their loved one can usually live a higher quality of life for the years that they have left. So we can certainly plan for care and think about what that person's wishes. Are you know, did they want to live at home for as long as they can do they have you know, what kind of support does the family have in terms of those family caregivers? So there are a lot of things facing that diagnosis had on can help with in the journey with Alzheimer's disease, which is certainly not an easy one. How does someone tell the difference between the as you just mentioned Natalie the difference between lexie no just get a little bit older where we all get a little bit more forgetful made live with more distracted as opposed to know, someone is showing showing the first signs of Alzheimer's. One of the one of the most market differences can be that, you know, when you when you have normal aging, you forget something or you misplace something, and you know, you've done it. So maybe you misplace your car keys, but in in Alzheimer's disease or dementia. It can be much more serious where maybe you've misplaced the car keys, but you don't even know that you're missing them or you don't even know what the car keys do. So there are certainly differences in that progression or path of normal aging Bertha's, Alzheimer's disease or dementia. The other thing that we see a lot with a dementia is, you know, personality changes again, just saying that really set it apart from normal aging, and I'm taking educated guess to that.

"Schick, there's no better cheerleader for you than Ellen lives in your corner. And you can't get on the show because of share. So what are you asking? Here's share worth an hour on Ellen. Absolutely is is it worth her bumping, another another gay woman. Who's got a pretty big story here in Indianapolis that might be of interest nationally. I'm putting myself in the seat of the executive producer of the Ellen show. What's gonna generate more social media buzz? What's going to generate more conversation? Probably share just because she's such a huge icon in the gay community, particularly with gay men. And so was Ellen and. Yeah. She just by the way, she just announced a concert bankers life Fieldhouse in February Valentine's Day. This Valentine's Day was share. So. It looks like the Ron Kelly guidance counselor. Is going to be rescheduled. I think she already taped. They're just gonna air it at a different of next week's sometime. Right. We don't know the date yet, but they will eventually air this, and I'm going to give the folks that Ron collie some free advice right here. Now, if you've listened to this show, you know, that I am a beach grove high school grand, I'm a Beechcraft high school hall of Famer a former president I've taken my shots at Ron collie in the past. I'm giving free advice to the folks at Ron collie deer. Run collie get on the archdiocese and have a resolution to this story immediately. Either find a way to keep her or fire her because whatever happens, then this taping of this chick on Ellen will become outdated, and it will never make it to the air unless they fly her back out to the Ellen show into another one which could be unlikely. So if you don't want this story to get on Ellen to get even more social media buzz get a resolution done quickly. Because by then everything that this teacher talked about in that taping with Ellen will be outdated, and they can't use it on the show by Shelley FitzGerald, by the way that the guidance counselor embroiled in this Ron collie. I hope she doesn't get fired. Personally. I look I have a problem with her. You know, if there was a moral cause or moral clause in that Ron collie contract when she signed it. And she knew she was breaking that clause. That's that's that's a debate to be had whether that whether or not that should have even been in the contract in the first place Catholic church that can do whatever they want. But I I think it sucks for her. And I feel bad that she got bumped. And I would like to hear. I am interested in the the the the leaner the slant that Ellen would've taken with this subject. But I hope she doesn't get fired. I hope they find a resolution. That's good advice though. I don't want anybody to get five million people lose their John. I'm one way or the other. I mean, if there was a moral clause in that contract. That's that's something to be debated. There's actually there may not be any debate. If there's a clause in that contract. We haven't seen the contract. I don't think any of us have seen what's in that contract. But if you respect a contract of any kind you got to honor, it you have to honor it, and there's a clause in there that says you can't do this or that or we're going to have to make some changes. Then boom goes the dynamite. That's the ballgame. By the way. What happened the shares movie career? Like, it seems like she really made some does she made some decent movies there in the mid eighties. I mean mask has got to be, you know, splayed rocky Dennis his mom Kristy. Komo instruc-. Yeah. Never. Really, I can't remember moonstruck, but I've witches of Eastwick and then suspect, but then that's that's pretty much it. She kind of maybe she just concentrated on her music career. And she's still obviously, she's still a draw. She still packs the house she came to India few years ago and bankers life was packed Ben and her doing a Valentine's Day show, which she announced earlier today. I'm sure it's going to be packed next year. I'm just thinking if I'm an executive producer on Ellen show. What's going to garner more conversation? I think it's the Ron college store, by the way. Turn back time is fine share song. But for my money doesn't get any better than you're gonna go down in flames. Just like Jesse James. Put that on the record. This has been share talk with big knives. You're gonna go down. Jessie j so big nights last night. You had two choices. Did you watch the NFL? Or did you watch a little of the Trump rally in Montana? I chose Ambien in bed by nine o'clock. Maybe kids a wake up very early. Okay. Okay. I'm not mad at you. Because you probably had a better night than anybody to watch any of these things last night. The NFL game was a snooze until the final play. And the Trump rally was okay? But it didn't have the same fire. He didn't come out swinging. Like, I thought he would here. He is last night in Montana talking about that op Ed piece in the New York Times, the latest active resistance is the op-ed published in the failing New York Times by an anonymous really Eddie enormous gutless coward. Aegis look, he was nobody knows who the hell he is or she. Although they put he, but probably that's. Disguise that means that she. Elected deep state operatives who defy voters to push their own secret agendas. Truly a threat to democracy itself. It's a shame that he couldn't pronounce anonymous. Because that's the only thing I heard in that segment Thomas. This is a hard word to say. A little more was all the time. All the time. It's a staple on this program. Play the beginning of that again. Really? Hey. So one of the key aspects of that sound bite other than ominous was what he said he or she she being key because the fine folks at morning Joe had a round table this morning. And they were ready to burn Kellyanne Conway at the stake. Apparently, he wrote this suggested that it was Kellyanne Conway, and I have not even contemplated that I was more of the Dan Coats mode at the outset of those. But the more you think about it the more. I think it's her. Some sense she very cagey. She's the kind of person who would find out that Mike Pence use the word lodestar lot and put lodestar in to try to put it on my tax. She also if you think about the double actions do with her husband right now trying to set up to be the carbon Madeleine of the future. This is a good hedge against Trump failing because she would be the kind of person who would wanna come out after Trump failed and say, you know, what I was working on the inside. How about that? Not only. Do they think if Kellyanne Conway they're saying she did it to set up Mike Pence? I don't know. That's that's that's out there. Although Kellyanne Conway we talked about the betting odds for who wrote that op Ed piece yesterday, she wasn't even on the odds that out of Vegas, right? But I don't I don't because she's cagey. She wrote down. Let's hear a little bit more because they had a whole panel up there. And I think they were all drinking the Kool aid we have evidence of this Donnie because at the end of the campaign, she would in the green room at around the set talking about how she couldn't wait for. The campaign to go over this. Who who is cunning clever enough to use the word to use the Pence where to throw people and who in the post Trump administration has the most to lose. They'll all go back to their world. Alternative facts? What if you or somebody who wants to be on television in the communications world what you really have to reinvent yourself. It could have been anybody with half a brain that picked up the lodestar thing. We were talking about that yesterday. Yeah. Whoever used lodestar in that op Ed piece was clearly trying to make it look like Pence wrote it because he uses that word. I mean, he just used it in the McCain eulogy, right? Anybody could have done that. I don't think I I don't know just because she's Cade. They might have a point with her husband being liberal in tweeting out the things that he does making it awkward for Kellyanne Conway in the president you want to hear some conspiracy theory stuff.
