At Trump Org. fraud trial, defense rests and deflects blame

"The defense has rested its case as the tax fraud trial against the Trump organization reaches its final stages. Closing arguments are slated for later this week in the criminal tax fraud trial against Donald Trump's real estate empire. Defense lawyers say prosecutors are seeking to punish the entire company for one person's scheme to avoid personal income taxes, on company perks like apartments and luxury cars. Finance chief Alan weisselberg has already pleaded guilty to taking $1.7 million in unreported compensation and he testified against the Trump organization. But defense lawyers blame weisselberg and longtime accountant Donald bender. Suggesting bander should bear the blame for not catching the fraud. There are no allegations against the former president nor members of his family. I'm Jackie Quinn

"Out the details and reverse engineer that later. Write down what you want your practice to look like now. I mean, in the future, and it doesn't even have to be the current practice that you're in right now. Maybe part of the reverse engineers that we sell your current practice for a maximum value. And then we construct the new one. But don't get hung up on what's currently happening. All righty guys, so if you turn the page, turn over in your packet. It says step one. This is actually step two. So take the answers to these questions and write out your manifesto in paragraph form. In paragraph form. Example, on June 14th, 2034 at the age of 60 years old, I will transition out of my dental business by selling my group of practices to four dentists who were previously associates and later became minority partners. When the business sells it will have a total of three affiliated practices producing $7 million with no debt. The EBITDA will be 20% of the practice group and received a 6 X valuation from the purchaser. The sales price will be 8.4 million as an 80% owner of the group. I will receive a pre-tax check for $6.72 million. Include in your, that's just an example, obviously, included in your manifesto, your age when it's done when you want to make this transition. The transaction value of the business and your take home pre-tax because we don't know what's going to be happening with taxes then. You're take home pre-tax income or windfall. Exactly what the practice looks like, physical size, decor, location, team, and type of services rendered. And who the purchaser is? Is it a DSO? Is it a group of associates? Is it a single associate? Your overall health, your four futures assessment score at the time. So if you're 60 years old, what kind of shape are you going to be in? Is getting here going to wreck you physically? Plan for what to do with your days when you transition. And what's your next chapter here? We have a couple of masterminds who recently went through this transition, doctor bander here. Aaron Nicholas. Aaron has decided that he's going to go full bore transitioning into clinical education and doing stuff with DSI and Monday morning dentistry. He's got his plan completely set. He doesn't have to pick up a handpiece ever again for the rest of his life, but he still enjoys teaching, so that's what he's going to do. He's completely financially set, and he never did this exercise, but I think that he did a really, really great job of building it up and transitioning out as to doctor bander. So I want you guys to get in as much detail using this format as possible. And you'll be another 15 minutes. And then we're going to put the plan in place together. Exercise, I want you guys to do it again, or touch it up. So let's take this seriously. This is, I mean, if you could imagine that anything that you write down is actually going to come to pass. Getting that much detail. All right guys, let's move on to step two, which is really step three. We're going to create benchmarks to create two with the exact dates and specifics that lead to the eventual end goal. So take the end goal right now and figure out exactly what the timeline looks like if it's 6 years old that you want to retire. Do the math. How many years is that from now to 60? If it's 55, if it's 50 for you, Young Bucks. I am now 50 years old. And so if it's 50 that you want to be transitioning out, then do the math and let's figure out how we're going to get there. So figure out how many years that is and what benchmarks you have to hit. At each one, two, three, 5, ten year milestone, okay? I want you guys to keep in mind some things, right? Again, if you're not in the exact community, you want to be in and you want to be somewhere else, keep that in mind. If your practice is a practice that you think has value now and you want to transition out of that and start over again, what exactly is that going to look like if you want to stay in your existing practice because it's the practice that you want to eventually evolve into your ideal practice, what's it going to take to get there in this particular timeline? Is that going to mean that we're going to have to find three mergers? Like doctor summer did and merge into our primary practices. If we are thinking about multiple practice operation, where are those practices going to be? Are they going to be de novos? Are they going to be acquisitions? If you know specifically which practices you want to target for purchase or merger, write those down. But all that sort of thing should work into your reverse engineering of your manifesto right now. So let's do that. I'll give you guys another ten minutes. Keep in mind guys that there's probably a half dozen right now. People inside the mastermind that have valuations that are over, let's see. 8 figures, okay? So if you're thinking this is crazy and I could never do it. There's at least a half dozen people that have 8 figure valuations in the

"Targets tumor surface molecules, and how it's approached minimizes the toxicity of these therapies. Phil, thanks for joining us. Thanks, Danny. It's great to be here. We're going to talk about convergent efforts to target novel cancer antigens and it's lead therapeutic candidate, a first in class actinium linked monoclonal antibody to treat prostate cancer. Before we talk about that though, I'd like to begin with you. You've spent most of your career on the clinical side of cancer for cofounding convergent. You served as chairman of medicine and memorial Sloan Kettering and before that spent nearly 25 years that the Dana farber cancer institute where you served as division head of solid tumor oncology. Why did you decide to take the position of CEO of convergent? That's a good question. You know, I. Saw the clinical data that was produced by convergent that was formed about 7 months before I joined and I was really intrigued by it. I thought it was fantastic phase one data. I also looked at the preclinical data that Neil bander the founder had generated and it was also very compelling and I thought the whole story was fantastic. It came at a right time where radio pharmaceuticals are becoming more part of the armamentarium in the treatment of cancer. And for me, it was a personal change from going from academic medicine, which I had been in for about 35 years to something new, exciting and different. And I really enjoy building teams and creating a vision for which direction we're going in. And so I decided to join convergent on July 1st, 2021. So it's almost a year, Danny. How do you think your deep experience in clinical and academic medicine shapes your approach as CEO? Well, first of all, it helps me with the understanding the clinical problem of cancer.

"Guys, here's the deal. I was talking to my wife real quick before a show, just check in. And she goes, I'm pissed. That's all she said. And I didn't say anything. And then she goes, I'm pissed at you, and I didn't say anything. And then she goes, do you know why? I'm pissed at you. I'm like, well, I'm not gonna start volunteering shit to you. But I'm about to take your case. I would like to hear what evidence you have against me before I open my mouth. Thank you. And I don't argue with my wife because I can't follow along. She's so much smarter than me. She argues with me the same way she watches Netflix. She sees the argument in her head. Then underneath that she sees, if you enjoy bitching about this, then you're also gonna enjoy bitching about this this, this is this. Others who've argued about this have also argued about. Based on past talks, may we recommend? So she judged me and she goes, I'm painting what color do you want the kitchen? And I text her. I don't care. By the way, that's how I texted it. I don't care. But she reads it. I don't care. I'm screaming every tax apparently. Bring it home ice cream, watch some. Red face emoji. Right? Then you can tell she's typing in a text because you see the bubble. You ever just have that bubble pop up and it's like that and you're like, oh my God, how much are you writing? And then like 30 minutes go there, you're like, you're still bubbling me. And then it disappears, and then the thumb pops up. You're like, what the heck? I waited for a thumb. Or just have a goal like that, then it disappears. You're like, wow, did you just slipped and fell? Something just happened to him. And then it pops back. No, they're alive and slowly cool. So then she says, if you don't care how I decorate, can I hang pictures of ex-boyfriends on the wall like a Hall of Fame? Okay? Now let me show you the difference of ages here. You're in your early 20s, you hear that phrase you're like, there's no way I let a girl put pictures of guys she's been with on the wall because everything comes from a place of insecurity. Here at my age why I don't want pictures of ex-boyfriends on the wall. I don't want to have to measure and hang shit. It's a different mentality. I can give a rat's ass what's in those frames. Matter of fact, if she can make the sex Hall of Fame happen before I get home, I'll probably gonna live with it. I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm not gonna patch drywall and fix it. I mean, I have some questions about the sex Hall of Fame, just in case I have to give tours. Was it a tournament? When was the last inductee? And I don't argue with my wife either because that's a young guy move. You guys like to argue because you want to let everybody know. I'm a big boy now. I'm not little. That's why you're wound tight. There's a piece that comes with age 'cause I don't give a shit about winning an argument with my wife. I just need it over. My motivation is, what do I got to say to make that drama train roll out? Right? That means I will admit to shit I didn't do. I will plant evidence on myself. I don't care. My goal, how do we stop talking about whatever it is we're talking about. And here's my new move. If my wife's talking to me and I want to be out of the conversation, right? I boy bander. So why is she talking to me? I'll just. It is physically impossible to argue with somebody. Who's dancing in front of you? You can't do it. You can not win an argument with somebody's. If I was a trial attorney, I would do that all day long. That would be my move. Just every court case, why they're doing their closing argument. I would just look at the jury. What did judge get to yell at me? Oh, I'm not allowed to dance. What is this footloose? Because here's the deal. I know I got to get my wife's drama train out and moving because I know from experience, there's another train coming at two and a half minutes. I got to deal with the 6 15. Can you move your shoes out of the way when I come in, please? Then I deal with the 6 30. Can you rent out the blender when you're done making one of those shakes? And then I deal with the 7 15. Could you use a coaster? Did I get a little bit of sleep and wake up for the 5 50 a.m.? What time did you come to bed last night? Oh no, probably about one 30. More like two 40. Why'd you ask then? Why'd you ask if you knew what time I come to bed? Why did you just test me? Ladies, I can't figure that one out yet, but there's something where you go to bed. I don't know what you think your guy. I don't know if you've seen too many state. Farm commercials? But you are convinced you go to bed, and then while you're sleeping, your guy listens, he's like, she's asleep. Then he goes to the front porch, and he starts flipping on the front porch light, then all the other neighbor guys peek outside, and we see the lights going off. Then we sneak outside and somewhere in the neighborhood, there's a secret bounce house and we play in it. Then we get our face painted and we eat corn dogs. There's a snow cone machine. That's the only time I don't answer my wife. When she goes, what time did you come to bed? I go, I don't know. Drives her crazy. How do you not know when you came to it? I don't have a sleep journal? And by the way, I've been arguing with somebody I've lived with since I was one about a bedtime. I would like to stop talking to people about that. So, so she kept asking me what time do you come to bed? I'm like, why are you asking me so much? He goes, I just got to fit it and want to see something. So my wife was a Fitbit, the Fitbit, you know, track, once you fall asleep when she wakes up, how many times she tosses and turns throughout the evening? Well, apparently, my wife now has data. That she can look at to determine when I disrupted her sleep. Yes, she showed me a function. Let me show you something. As you see here, I'm in deep sleep, and that's suddenly where I'm in light sleep. So you came to bed right about here. And holy shit, now I have to deal with the motion detector. Are you kidding me? Like the only way I can think about dealing with this is I have to go to Home Depot. Get a day laborer to lay in bed for me. Then I tell that guy, dude, I'm going to come to bed. I'm going to get a roll ya. I'm just going to do this. And I need you to fall out of the mattress as my body hits it. Watch the first Indiana Jones. We got to do that same thing he does with a bag of sand. And if you're too tired to drive home, we have a spare room set up for you downstairs. I have no problem with you staying the night. I just better never see your face on the Hall of Fame wall. And if you do happen to make the wall, I ask you, please, to hang your own pictures. Watch John heffern in Brad Paisley's comedy rodeo. "Of course, this came with a plethora of press releases, recapping the same information, but I thought this was interesting. I saw this in one of them. You can watch it in IMAX. IMAX corporation today announced that starting this summer, the cinematic thrill of the world's biggest and best video games are set to arrive and IMAX theaters for the first time when summer game fest live. The game industry's midyear digital fan celebration and The Game Awards, the video game industry's annual yearend show will air live in IMAX theaters in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom. I'm axis partnership will begin with summer game fest live set to air live June 9th at 11 a.m. Pacific. From Los Angeles. It will be followed by The Game Awards, 2022 in December, live for the Microsoft theater in Los Angeles. Tickets will go on sale for summer game fest on May 12th at 9 a.m. Pacific. Tim, how hype are you? Oh my God, this is ten out of ten hype in every single way. I am so excited that we have a date. I was getting a little concerned that we're getting close to June and not getting things kind of like ironed out in terms of the placement of all these showcases. One of my biggest criticisms, the last couple years as E three has been dying going away, whatever you want to call it. And summer game fest has been kind of rising up in its place. The biggest problem has been a lack of coordination between everybody and I don't think this is going to be the year that it works out flawlessly, but I do think that it's going to be better. It's going to be better. You got a whole, but I was starting to worry. It wasn't going to be because I think this is like a key. This is one of the big moments, right? The tent pole events that everything else kind of works around. The kick-off in a way. And I feel like Thursday June 9th makes a lot of sense with the very little context we have for what others are doing so far with Xbox coming in on that Sunday slot right after. So I love it. This feels right. I actually think this makes more sense for how the industry covers E three and how audiences look at E three compared to how we three actually used to be where it would be like all the press conferences and then there'd be the gameplay event after this kind of feels like the opposite where there's this kick-off press conference type event that goes throughout you got to imagine this weekend where I imagine we'll get a couple more heavy hitters in there potentially. And I'm not expecting Nintendo or PlayStation to be part of this because they just kind of been doing their own thing. But how nice would that be if Jeff somehow made it all happen? Yes, man. If anybody can make it happen, Jeff could make it happen. If Jeff could get everybody back in line, I'm like, let's have a little E three weekend. As you pointed out, yeah, June 9th summer game fest. June 10th is the Tribeca game spotlight. We talked about that earlier and I guess last week actually now of the Tribeca games that will be happening there. And then yeah, June 12th being Xbox. So at Saturday is open if somebody wants to step up and put something in there. But for now though, let's turn to Patreon dot com slash kind of funny games where bander S and writes in just like you can each and every weekday about the daily news. And says, hey KFG crew. Jeff Keeley has officially unveiled his June summer game fest event, but there are some interesting difference between last year's show and this year's show. First of all, it's no longer called kick-off live. It is now just called summer game fest. Additional additionally, during the classic Jeff hype trailer, there is only two events listed. Summer game fest on June 9th and The Game Awards in December. As of now, there does not seem to be an opening night live gamescom event on the schedule. My question is a bit broad, but what does KF think about this? What happened to gamescom and its relation to SG F? Is everything really just happening in June? Thanks. Bander SN. Well, bander SN, I would not read too much into gamescom not being there. Jeff, of course, it tweeted out march 10th, happy to announce I have signed a new deal to continue producing and hosting gamescom opening night live. We will see you back in cologne, Germany, on Tuesday, August 23rd. My arena, why that wouldn't be in the trailer or why this wouldn't be this, is that Jeff doesn't know him own gamescom. Jeff owns summer game fest, and he owns Game Awards. So the big news here is that both of those are confirmed. Here's a date for this. They're gonna be an IMAX. There's a bunch of stuff happening that I would say are from Jeff Keeley industries for lack of a better term, right? It's similar to how I Greg Miller hosts a lot of stuff, right? But if we're promoting kind of funny stuff, I'd only be promoting the kind of funny stuff and being loose fast and loose here. But if we were doing if I was hosting a bunch of stuff at E three, I wouldn't necessarily then also promote it the same breath as the kind of funny showcase because kind of funny showcase is own and operated. The other one I'm a contractor on, which is what I would assume here as Jeff has signed the deal for it. So I want to read into it and then the same thing of like, on the upcoming events page on summer game fest, yeah, it's summer game fest, it's Xbox Bethesda showcase and it's Tribeca. And that's all June. I'd imagine you're going to see Jeff start sussing those out and going on as he gets closer and closer to these things and more stuff starts popping up. But it is interesting that it's not called kick-off live. One of the things I think last year really lacked from summer game fest was an identity. And so Tim, I think this would be a great first step to being like, this is what summer game fest is. Yeah, again, I think we're still in the infancy of trying to figure all this stuff out, but I think that we're making moves really quickly. And I am excited to see what this is going to be like next year. The year after that, because I think that's when it's really going to actually be like, all right, cool. In the same way that we say E three and everyone knows what it means. E three is not happening this year, but we can still call it E three, and we all know exactly what we're talking about, right? I feel like there's going to be a turning point where it becomes summer game fest. And I obviously that's the goal for Jeff, but I do think that getting rid of the branding of the kick-off and all this stuff that just simplifying what super game fest actually is. If you can get summer game fest down from being this crazy three month extravaganza that keep checking the calendar 'cause things might happen type shit and get it down to. No, it's a week, you know? And it's this event, it's this event..

"Kissing enough people off. And then the chat there, witness says, is this a KFW promo? Anarchy Monday, Twitch I do. Everyone needs to know if you don't already about Craig Miller is at any moment. He can shift from being Greg Miller to a wrestling personality. And you just gotta kind of roll with it and just be like, okay, cool. He's the old now and he faced her right now live in front of our eyes. He loved to see it. Number 6, splatoon three has a release date, Kevin, I put the tweet in there. It has a little trailer if you want to watch it. They tweeted that Kevin will show you here incoming incoming, but it's like ink incoming incoming splatoon three splashes it down on Nintendo Switch, September 9th, getting early look at the game with this fresh turf war gameplay. And you see this thing here with all the inklings out there, doing their thing, and Andy Cortez, very excited. Very excited. God bless them. Yeah, so this is interesting. The September time slot they've been saying summer for splatoon three. September. Let's push it in, but you know, seasons are weird when it comes to products and video games. And they're just ideas more than they are, like, actually following any real rules of things. But what I think is interesting about this is, in addition to the news of getting the release date for splatoon three, we recently got the xenoblade chronicles three, release date, news of it being pushed up. We know advanced wars is coming. That was pushed back originally. We're starting to get an idea of what and breath of the wild getting pushed out of 2022. We're getting a better idea of what Nintendo has to offer for the rest of the year. But I think it's interesting that today they also announced that they are adding the splatoon two expansion pass to Nintendo Switch online. So when we start looking at what Nintendo Switch online is offering now, this is definitely a kind of one dot com slash you're wrong thing, but like all the major DLC packs for games are now essentially part of switch online. So even for previous games, the exception exceptions being breath of the wild and smash ultimate with the character packs. But the smash thing makes sense to me. Before you go any further and maybe spoil anything else. Band arrests in. Writes into Patreon dot com slash kind of funny games and says hey Greg and Tim earlier this week, Nintendo moved the xenoblade three release date up to July. And I wrote in a speculate that it was because platoon was going to take the September spot. Shout out to me, of course. But more importantly, this platoon two DLC is now being added to the Nintendo Switch online expansion pack making. The first time an old DLC has been added. Do we think that Nintendo will continue to add older DLC titles to the pack as sequels come out. Xenoblade is two DLC or breath of the wild DLC, or is this a one time deal? You were getting close to that too, so I just had to throw it out there. Yeah. No, that's good. And the chat's already your wrong me, Charles Jacobs insane. Pokémon sword and shield isn't in the NSO expansion. So okay, there are actually quite a bit of examples of xenoblade chronicles DLCs aren't in there yet either. And that's you're wrong. And then, of course, bander SN writes in it says Greg said everyone is replaceable, but him, but he specifically replaced himself with the Gina Garcia on PS. I love you back in October when he was taking a vacation or something who knows. It's a great fucking point. Everyone is replaced with turns out. We're wrong. But what's interesting about this is I think it kind of is providing a pattern for us to follow going forward. Let's look at what games are coming out. I wouldn't be surprised. Here we have splatoon three. So splits you into expansions being added, this obviously is the new thing that didn't exist when splatoon two first came out. So I wouldn't be surprised if as we get closer to xenoblade chronicles three, we do get the xenoblade chronicles two DLC. Once we kind of like get a little bit further away from smash ultimate being this the final version that it being added, the challenge packs being added. I'm sure they're still making a lot of money so they wouldn't necessarily want to do that right now. I still believe we're going to get a smash ultimate ultimate edition where it's like all the characters on one cartridge and they rerelease it physically or digitally whatever way they decide to do that. I think that would be the time that they add smash to this. Breath of the wild two. When that comes out, breath of the wild one stuff, like I think it makes a lot of sense and they've just been making those decisions. Pokémon, certain shield, potentially leading into Pokémon. I always forget the names, but the new ones. Ruby and no. Red dog. Scarlett and violet. Thank you. You got me there. You got me with them. But yeah, those Pokémon red dog. But anyways, I do think that this is starting to make sense and again, I've been saying this since day one and people disagree with me, but Nintendo Switch online is a fantastic deal and this expansion pack is just continuing to be more and more worth it for the same cost that it originally was for people. So agreed? There you go, everybody..

"Dot com slash you're wrong. We're folks right in less than what we got wrong. As we got it wrong, so we can correct it for those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. Plumbers here says, I know this is some real nitpicking, but as a math teacher, I've got to point out that 9.25 should be said as 9.25, not 9.25, as that would imply that 9.25 would be greater than 9.3. Very nitpicky. But you know what? No. I like a good Matthew. No, no, no, no, 'cause you can call it 9.5 30. You know what I mean? 9.5 30. What was the other number he said? 9.9 .3. 9.8 9.39 30, yeah. It's fun. It's fun. That's not some math shit. Get out of here, math teacher. Looks like you got some more classes to take. Come on get out. You want to take some more classes plumbers? So it was like the timing was the same of the announcement from 7 from E three to 7 E three to two and then from the announcement of three to release of three. Whereas the announcement of the next game hasn't even happened yet. Do you know how many of 8 was long alert lead time? Kebabs here says to you wrong the article, Nathan Drake had the ring he parted with it in uncharted three, and then kebabs also say that says that Chloe wore the American apparel outfit and lost legacy. The American pair off it sucks. I like it. That's all I'm saying. I don't like that outfit. I like her too outfit. For two outfits. I see what you're talking about. Her Las legacy outfit looks like American apparel. They went with the wrong one in Fortnite. And the stylized makes it even worse. I mean, I like the outfit in uncharted lost legacy. I think it fits differently. You gonna tell me you like it better than her outfitted too. I don't believe you. I like it better. Okay. You're right. Yes, the entirety two outfit for Chloe is better than a charter loss legacy. But I don't dislike the Los Angeles outfit. I think she rocks it well. I think Fortnite. I think the way it fits in Fortnite is weird because of the Fortnite art style. But I don't think it's bad. I think it's fine. It's Fortnite. Who.

"Something like that. Yeah in an auditor so Someone else that's that's high right now so we're going to get into news and toppers real quick. Get the show moving along here and some are found. Guys that was. It's been talked about before we kind of you know. I did with apple. In it is now net. Flicks is moving into the round of gaming so they have acquired accent pre developer as is first gaming studio so streaming giant. Netflix acquired new night sky studio. So that's the developer. A developer responded by telltale games employees records. That released a game called accident-free watson Frequent who's kind of a creepy game. It's a horror game as switch and a number of part two coming out so so an intriguing supernatural mystery game and after party or hopping comedy journey through hell on my that one john. Now their seal an very deceased now the Now an ethics subsidary of subdiary studio confirmed that accident free to like i said is in development is way back there also announcing the kobelco undershot creko said that the pairing of the two is a natural mentioning that netflix mrs sport. Divers storytellers parties joining forces together. So like the justice league like the avengers is happening so nice. That was gonna happen so that was kind of their first like dive into now that the deep dive outta got this big excuse me developer company under their wing to help develop games in like they were also developing. Stranger things. game coming out of netflix. But that one got canceled at the moment. I think they may finish it. A may not but that one was part of the tape but we got nice schools developing their artsy free. One and two games. that's gonna come in netflix. Wing completed So i'm excited about that done. Also be on net flakes unintended switch playstation consoles as well ed and pc so guys. What you think about netflix. Getting into gaming. I think it's cool including those smaller indie groups studios right and then the other corner of this. And i think he's cool as we talked about this when this first broke to that i do not believe this is gonna increase your netflix subscription price. Netflix already knows. It's gonna lose any trying to do is attract new people to sign up for netflix council. All that stuff i think. is you know favorable. The people who you know have net flicks are wanna.

"Jumped down my throat for getting the first one. Like i was a witch and then she went on to win. That was fun. I liked matt's a little game to forgotten about it and then forgot about how to do it. And then i remembered how to do it and i did. It loved it. I hate that was a little game. It's time for the question block. All right. this is from at. Oh honey just know on twitter. And there i. I loved her story. It was a great game to play with my non gamers sister. Do you think as netflixing other streaming services experiment with interactive or visual novel. Style media that fm vs will become a staple rather than each thinking like banner snatch. I didn't play bander snatch but or experienced banner snatch whatever verbiage you wanna use. I knew that that one had much more limited interactivity though right it was just kind of like a choose. Your adventure basically yeah. There are a couple options onscreen as many as like two or three and then there are multiple endings for it as well. That are all from the twisted minds of black mirror. right this is you know. There's no reason you couldn't play this on a streaming service. I mean they. They'd need to have the a little bit more sophisticated. You know you i Input but like. There's no reason you couldn't play this on. Like a tablet basically as is right. Because it's just it's basically you know you're just using one click and it's how i played it. Yeah so what. I'm saying ipad but we yeah one hundred percents. What i'm saying like if this was on like net flicks or this was on hulu as like her story was just a thing you could play and they had like the sophistication to be able to like streamed that in or you can download it to your device like i. There's no reason they couldn't do this as is for whatever reason they haven't really taken that approach. Who knows what's gonna happen. When net flicks gets more into gaming. I would imagine like a game like this would be a perfect fit but imagine they just want like stream red dead redemption. They just wanna have writ triple eight titles there to stream. That's my guess. Yeah i also feel like the the barrier of entry on on a full motion game even though it is lower seemingly. It's feels higher because you have to like. It's not just game design. It's additionally filming all your actors organizing you're like all that shit feels like why not just make virtual town but i know nothing about games or life so maybe everything. I've just said is backwards. This this is certainly much more of a writing task. I feel like and you know. Certainly like a design task to figure out how these puzzle pieces together but technology. It's not like you have like this. It's it's running in unity but it's not like you have to assuming this game would be streamed. I guess like the legit like lake. It would not be the kind of thing where be like. Oh i have to have this instantly. Responsive sixty f-. Ps game where. I can jump and shoot and everything and it has to feel like it's you know like like like it would be that sort of thing so i think if it wasn't a streaming service like a game like this would be a better fit but it's also more niche as just like it's you know i guess is the question saying are we going to see more of this stuff ported to or we're gonna see more like we're net flicks commissioning et cetera. At all using netflix. Standing for all stand for all of these platforms. Are we going to see like netflix commission. More of these types of things because my guess is still no. I think this is just too niche. Yeah i think the the question is yes speaking to the ladder like do we think we'll see more more things like abandoned snatch or like race or know the even that awful minecraft story mode game is on netflix. But netflix dot net flakes. But it has. That has less input. Dan her story even sparser. You're just you're just clicking options. Yeah but so. I wonder if they could i could see. Fm vs taking batter out. Not necessarily things with higher functionality. The typing no but like selecting. Yeah absolutely like i'm surprised. Nitric isn't on netflix. Or any of those things because you could easily do that because all is selection. You could easily do that there. Yeah but to nick's point they're not. Netflix isn't necessarily interested in things that they want. Fortnight they want like yeah right that type of stuff on their platform. I feel like the answer is yes because there will be more than zero right. Now there's like bender snatch her story or whatever there's very limited number of these things and the opportunity for an interactive visual video. Experience has already already been proven by band therefore there will be more of them. But i don't think it's going to be like a sea change because just gonna be like there are more yeah. Yeah there's been. Something of a recent resurgence and i don't know how much of her story was like. The was the reason for this or her story was just part of this wave. But there's been like a resurgence of fm v games. I feel like in recent years. And i don't know i this is. This is stepping away from the question. A little bit but i really liked fm v. I like i really like there was a time when that came out like when that was first to thing it was kind of like people were thinking like. Oh this is the death-knell for interactive entertainment. Because these are these games are so on rails and they're so limited. Yeah but i think the modern games that embrace that and kind of have like you know like like us that treat that is a strength like her story and sort of like you know what we can actually just film this actor doing this and this is so much less resource intensive than actually animating a modeling and animating a character. That can do this. You know we're just gonna use actual video like i. I think i i i liked it. There's this new wave of fm v games. And i liked that there. I i hope they get. I hope i hope they do make more of them. I hope that Yeah i mean. I guess i'm just about streaming services being the reason but i'd like to see more of these. Yeah i i like it. It's it isn't you know it just because it's niche. It'll probably stay that way. But i wouldn't see i don't see why there would be more not. Yeah i don't know. Why are we still talking about this. "The welcoming committee but because false teaching such as you see here in second peter or jude colossians or i john or koran you know paul says in second corinthians ten thirty six for though we walk in the flesh we do not wage war according to the flesh for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal that our mighty and god for pulling down strongholds we demolish arguments and tear down every pretension set against the knowledge of god taken captive. Every thought the obedience of christ so we are to defend hope being the welcoming committee and the wrecking crew. We don't wreck. People wreck pretensions. Set against the knowledge of god say that people into bondage and so he says here's the thing defend that christian doctrine yeah defend the biblical teaching because it's essential to your growth in godliness. It's essential to the health of the church. Corporately and it's essential to christians individual spiritual health and so we have everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of him. That were godliness. Here is inseparable from sanctification. So we have what we need. For living the christian life and being godly through our knowledge of him will go back to jesus high priestly prayer in john. Seventeen seventeen and what does he say. Sanctify them by truth. The word is truth and so we have our knowledge of god through his word and it brings about the godliness that peter's talking about or the sanctification for which jesus prays for us. John seventeen seventeen as i was preparing for this episode. I was seeing that in second. Peter there's actually a moment in chapter three where he references paul's letters yes and he says i think versus fifteen sixteen. He says also regard the patience of our lord as salvation. Just as our dear brother paul has written to you according to the wisdom given to us and then he says he speaks about these things in all his letters. There are some things hard to understand them which we can all relate and then he says the un taught and unstable will twist them to their own destruction as they also do with the rest of scriptures. So you're right. This theme in the pauline epistles in the general pills. Is this guarding of the truth guarding of ourselves and it's guarding yes. God is guarding us. By the truth that we are called to guard. Paul told timothy. The church of god is the pillar and support of truth. So the church doesn't make up truth. We in buttress of truth so buttress of other bander saying they're thinking about what peter is saying about the writings of paul. He's not just saying that they're hard to understand but he's saying what people distort them like. They do the rest of scripture. Well what would have been the rest of scripture that time santana jet which would have been the greek translation of the brule destination. So and most of the time when the apostles are quoting the old testament. They're actually quoting this up to agent. Which was the greek translation that so the old testament was the cannon. i settled scripture. Peter is making an incredibly bold claim. An inspiration and canonical authority of the letters of paul. When he says they destroyed them just like they do the rest of scripture so he was saying the writings of paul are on par with had the old testament and the emphasis on the word. Is he not only there. But i love this. Because i think sometimes if i could go back to any scene in the bible could go back in time and just be there got now. It'd be the transfiguration. I would want to go back. And just kind of hiding the bush and you know hide behind a tree and here..

"But you can only claim the cash by framing someone else so there are her so there are three basic goals in this game to consider like you roll credits once you were the goals in the game and the first is to get away with it without being the second is to get the insurance money and then the third is to not be. Blackmailed is live forever after basically are there only the three. Those are the three goals. Yes not a man. I feel like if i invested one more bucket hour or something like that. 'cause i got the first two and then i saw those thirty i was like. How many of these other am. I gonna pay for six hours to get every fucking to open up every path. It's just too and then you get the credit and that's considered like beating the game. There's multiple findings. The game is pretty good. I like this mechanic. That has where it creates a checklist for use on the left side screen. There's like a checklist that pops up so it makes no things. You should remember which is helpful. So you don't play the game with a pen and paper be like. Oh i gotta remember. Malcolm has a secret or whatever you know. All i can really think of was playing. This game was bander snatch and how. I enjoyed that experience more. Because i don't know why experienced that more i head to rewatch the movie to get the other pass. Yeah but i think having to i think is also a contributing factor. It's who many choices it. It was too many choices for me. Like i was like obsessed with like well why i said i said what's in your pocket. Are you happy to see me. Anti reach into his pocket which one's the important one which one matters. I like. I felt her the way of the choices i would say. I think you did a lot better on your first run denied. Did i run. I didn't get away with it. I just i i. I was overwhelmed by the amount of choice. And that's why. I said it's an open world visual novel game kind. There's a lot more choices and matters. The choices are so expansive. Just feels like you actually get to explore this world a bit. Yeah and there's the really cool thing is as you're making those choices varying degrees of success like how you say something like just for example after you wake up you go upstairs to car stare and your your earring is up there. The one that dropped when you push your husband. There's so many different ways just that one interaction can go. You can avoid him from ever seeing it you can have him see it and say it's yours you can have him see. Say it's not yours. You can have them see it not yours and say it's glass you can say it haven't haven't say glass but then also have them go double check with someone else would make them seem innocent..

I'm curious to see how they do when they've done things such as like bander snatch i know there's like the out in the wild. The bear grylls like interactive shows. And things like that. So they've been you know they've been working on these things for a while. I think this could be I think this could be pretty good. Yeah i agree Let me start by. I don't talk much about mobile game because they don't play as much but like a service like apple arcade. I play a lot more than i thought it was going to. In just the fact that you have access to a bunch of mobile games no in-app purchases you get the entire package right. There is a pretty compelling deal for for somebody like me that just wants to dive into a game not worry about getting charged to death on the back end of things so net flicks obviously is a huge name. Know the juggernaut there. they've got the streaming stuff down You're right mobile. Gaming is is a nice entry point for the there. Were all those rumors going around. That may be playstation. Doing well josh. Thanks for having me. And i hope that i am an anti grew. I i hope. I put that idea out there. I don't want people looking at me. Like a guru. I tell people look elsewhere for information. Also don't just trust me. Yeah that's the sun. That's probably number one on the anti checklist. Have all the answers. Say i guess we're going to have a reasonably broad conversation today which is not really that common for the plo. Kostas evolve god. Normally we get conned of united practitioners of a certain type on the show but banderas doing so many different things that thought differently. Talk about video. Because you're the first video podcast we've had on the show. I have zero expectation that field. If we just go back a step from that are maybe staying with the band says podcast that you started off with one intention for the shy and then you didn't feel great about it and i think that's probably one of the things that enthusiasts podcasters ole suffer from is heavily started the show that i wanted to make and is actually turning out to be something. I'm happy to keep doing. Can you just talk through that period. And maybe how you're feeling when you're making those decisions about the shay. Yeah so when. I launched the bander says podcast. I was watching a lot of john. Oliver and i was going in with this idea. I'm going to solve the world's problems so after eight weeks of doing that and just getting more and more depressed. Because i'm looking at gun. Violence and online bullying and suicide rates. All these kind of terrible topics. It just wore me down to the point where i said. Hey i i'm doing this for fun and it's not fun anymore. So i took a step back and reassess what i was actually doing with my life. Why was i- podcasting. And what could i talk about. It would bring me more joy. So i just went with more general tech as opposed to trying to solve gun violence. Because if the smartest people in the world can't solve it why would i be arrogant enough to think that i could so so i went with tech in and that just gives me an excuse to To actually read up on the news every single week. Because if i didn't do the podcast. I wouldn't have the time to do it. So it's more just something fun for me to do in a way to allocate time in my schedule to stay on top of the news. Okay so two things out of that when you relaunched the show. Did you know that you wanted to take a much lighter. Conduct stance just in general. And how did you actually choose tick like. It would be someone else's problem at that point it's weird to be on this side of it now and and not have as much fear or anxiety about it but it's over you know if it started again I would it would be. I doubt miles ever expected to hear from his harasser again but then he got sent another text message with a crazy proposal to you. He reached out maybe a week later and said hey it's me again. I know you're probably asleep. I got a deal for you. Hope you're doing well though which is saying basically all summit up for you when you wake up and i'll give you your handle back. I'll take hours of my time to get information on every possible website. I can think of like off of the internet for me if you can give me an instagram username. That's been an active forever with your connections at instagram. It's not something super insane. So i don't think it should be a problem. It would be a personal account for me so it wouldn't be sold or anything will. This is bizarre. Something about this banter. We'd had made him feel like now. We're buddies and connected. You know for me. I try. I'm trying to sort of Use my brain to empathize with him. Imagine what it's like being in his shoes and he seems like maybe he's a younger guy and has a different perspective all this stuff but that was bizarre to me. I couldn't believe that it happened because they weren't buddies. This was a conversation between the attacker and the victim. no matter how friendly the tone was over messaging. Miles didn't have another instagram account. Offer in order to get countback. Miles occasionally checked up on his old instagram account for a while for a few weeks. The account was active and had zero followers then suddenly went off instagram entirely right now. That account just says sorry. This page isn't available. So it seems like instagram may have detected all this and removed it somehow or bandit which means all this drama for nothing. Nobody seems to own this thing. I texted this harasser myself multiple times for days but never got anything back from them. They ignored me all together. I think they probably use some service that lets get a new phone number whenever they want and when they were just done with miles they deleted their numbers and moved on. What a strange way to bully people online. Now right completely bizarre. It's i mean if you think about it from a point of view of like a video game and you abstract away the humanity right if you if you think away the humanity into something like a character and if you justify that it's only pizza and it's annoying because you're not able to empathize with somebody that they might think. Well yes. it's just pizza now. But what's next and if you can kind of just sit there in that space and you think about it as a internet handle. Not as somebody's i. I've spent years cultivating this brand. And you know is it. Is it worth tens of thousands of dollars. Probably not but it's meaningful but to him. It was just a game. It's just a way to extract something that he could probably make a few thousand dollars coin and move onto the next handle chance to chat with nicole beckwith from the last episode about this. If you're not familiar nicole was in. It security and then became a cop investigated a lot of cybercrime while as a police officer and as the secret service task force officer. She gets frustrated when she hears stories. Like this officer. It goes through the police academy there is no you course cybercrime. They don't even explain the basics. Which has to change. It's no longer okay. Not be tech savvy as a police officer. They really need to have courses in the police academy that explain in. What am i addresses. And you know social media and how you can look at profiles and forensics and investigations on that And so that was a course. That was a half day. Course i try to make it several days but was shot down that i put together for for officers and then i still do to this day. They need to understand all this in the don't and it's so frustrating for me to hear time and time in case in case again filer police report they never followed up with me And in fact there was a a local case where a female use submitted that she was being stalked and harassed on social media. And this person was saying mike. I'm coming after. I'm gonna get you and it sat on the shelf of the police department. She was eventually murdered by this person. And if they would have just understood how to get that information in amazing so mad saying this but if they would have understood how to get that information she would likely so be alive today and it's unacceptable in my opinion And as an officer is your somebody who is in this fueled. It's no longer an option. It has to be a baseline for every officer in the united states. To understand you how to get this information and how to work those cases and you i. I'm fighting the system in trying to ensure that that happens. Do you have any recommendations for anyone listening and in this situation. Yes oh a couple things one If you are pleased department in you are listening to this. I'm on twitter at nicole banquets. I'm on lincoln Your slash back with Find me i will conduct. I don't think he even in the NFC East Championship, so they do The Star Spangled Banner. That was all pre recorded. I mean, I'm pretty sure Every colts game I've been to the Star Spangled Banner. A national anthems been pre recorded. So I wanna have a go do halftime show Super Bowl is gonna be live, right? I would think so, because 22,000 will be in attendance. Maybe a little bit more than that. But if you pay that kind of money if you're one of the few that paid to get in, you want to see a halftime show. Oh, boy coming of birthdays to mention here, Uh, some boy band Ear's This will make you feel really old joy for tone from in sync. 44 years old 44 could God and this is mean, but I always Knew who he was, because he was kind of the fat one. That's on you identified with And if you spell his last name, it's fat one. So it really works on multiple levels. I think he's got his own burger joint. I was watching impractical jokers on. Is it a true TV or whatever Whatever Channel they were playing like, you know, a never ending loop of impractical jokers and Joey Fatone. Was in on one of the pranks. It was really funny. I love that show. He seems like a pretty good dude. He does he does. I'm gonna try his burgers. Nick Carter, Speaking of boy bands, Nick Carter is 41 years old today. Oh, good Lord. All the boy Bander Zehr, like getting close to Social security. He's the best card. Nick Carter's Backstreet Boys, Right? Yes, itself. The tone was in sync. And Nick Carter's the Backstreet Boys. Okay, what side of that fight? Did your wife choose? Because those bands were probably popular when she was in her twenties, I guess. Yeah. I don't see into the boy bands. I don't think she was into the boy bands she's born and like like the Fleetwood Mac, Elton John kind of the classic rock genre like that. I don't think she's really What about didn't you guys go to the Backstreet Boys? Who didn't didn't Krystal? Didn't you or take your wife to the when they were in town a couple of years ago? No, not too negative. She would have gone down the gun or something like that. Had it been new kids on the block. She would have tried to get backstage and seduce the band. But now it wasn't anything from them Sinker. Backstreet wasn't new kids on the block here before Cove it? Yes. Yes, I'm sure he was a part of that She wasps. Yeah, she went downtown. Doug Face Pony soldier. Oh isn't that the greatest I word ever cody soldier. This Joe Biden thing I did not. Did you call someone a pony soldier. A very lovely moment. Ask them very innocuous question. He turned around and said No. You didn't you lying dog faced pony soldier. Wow then she was like what he's like. It's woman old. John Wayne move was like no. It's not every single John we you literally. It was big in Delaware that instead slander. That's slur was big in Delaware. The nineteen fifty. It was a pre talkie. That's got to the president just for the Retro Quality. Just just to take us back in time Lille and I are alone in the studio today. Stephanie has jury duty so it's just only al to celebrate. Celebrate the upcoming hog known to the gentiles. Valentine's Day is revelatory. Yeah that's right Ed. We will be speaking with some people who know something about Love Seduce today. They are among others. We're going to have the cast members of the web series soon by you about dating in the modern Orthodox world how carp when our favorite guests from the apology episode came to our live in Cincinnati to tell us a very very special story. But Hey you win some you lose so the the updates on our lives. Stephanie is currently only doing civic duty during jury duty somewhere in the five boroughs Stephanie was in Scotch Plains New Jersey having a great event there a few days ago Maybe we'll we'll get the update next week. Leo You're in the motherland right. I was in beautiful Israel. Why for my grandmother's one year as a memorial service? Yeah Had a chance to sit and study some Tomlin with my Gerke Hassett cousins. I dearly love and again you know. We're often kind of like you know funny about these matters here but every now and then I really do get the urge to be sincere when I sit with people who you would think we have absolutely nothing uncommon. But then you realize we are truly literally and metaphorically speaking family and when we get together that love that connection is completely puttable we have spent very a little time talking about the fact that you're related to Garros So how did these are first cousins of yourself. I Costa who went. Who Went Garrard in your family? My Grandmother's sisters Shula Married Girl Haas. Okay this is a particular sect of Hasidim. What is there? What's the What their vibe? Like what what makes Gerhardt's put it like this cafe after the memorial service writing grandmother. Someone was talking about a person who's become about Shuba who's found religion later in life and became a gir- haas acid and one of my cousins who is Haas it said really no one becomes Bolshevik becomes a hostage and I asked why not and my cousin said well. Because it's it's perfectly fine to be like a really religious Jew and not go all the way to where we are. Why would you ever do the house? We have no choice right. Mind way you ever come here. It's so interesting I don't have any Cassini blackadder's any Haredi in my family I have modern orthodox cousins in Israel whose parents my mother's first cousin hasn't her husband actually were leaders of the conservative movement in Israel but then there's not much of a conservative movement in Israel so if you grow up kind of conservative conservative acts like observant conservative but if you SORTA got a pick or are you going secular going modern Orthodox and they're you know they're orthodox but I don't know of anyone who's like got the hat and the beard. It's a great a crying. Shame you have Hasidic material written all over your basically and this is the thing that I I kind of realized this week. 'cause we were hanging we were talking and at some point. The conversation vacation got kind of really elevated. And then I thought you know moved to dial like three clicks to the right and we're talking about Cherry Garcia Right in one thousand nine hundred. Seventy right eating shrimps and the bus and the way to Monterrey. That's kind of the VIBE. Yeah really the essence of not just observing the strict strict interpretation of the law but really trying to find this motionless spiritual connect mystical court to it would love to. I WanNa hang with your gear custom in cousins or Greg. I had a slightly different experience but in its way no less mystical by the way while you're talking about Jerry Garcia on the bus. Were you on the conference call when I when we were all doing like a pre show Oh crap and Rebecca. My thirteen year old was in the car and she was saying Dad. Can you explain the the grateful dead to me which is a really deep question because you know I could say I mean. I think we'd been listening to uncle. John's John's Bander Casey Jones. Or something you've come on. Come on the playlist in the car and I could say well it's a it's a group from about nineteen sixty seven to nineteen. Ninety give is playing the debt side. But I could give you the Brownie right and you'll eat it thirty five minutes you'll understand everything about this man. I mean I. It's really hard to say because it's so much more than a band to six never made sense to me before I try them on. Meet cliche thing to say. One is a grateful dead. The second is tennis and attended attended. I'm like wait until you understand. 'em This is a great game. I just have to move my eleven right. I'm so into this now. I add my own mystical experience in Wia missing in Pennsylvania and a bunch of people came like they'd set up fifty chairs. Forty five of the chairs were were filled with super curious. Interesting people of all ages a young rabbi from Lebanon Pennsylvania brought his twenties and thirties. Group is like young singles of which there were five or six and they were super into it and they listen to the show and they wanted copies the book and it was magical. The Jewish Cultural Committee organizes their author series was three people. None of whom was is Jewish. Okay one of them was Nancy Russo. WHO's married to to Paul something? Jewish and Nancy is is Italian Catholic by upbringing. The main woman the director of cultural life for the Jewish nation is Amanda Hornberger. Whose husband is like something German Lutheran? She herself grew up. Congregational est she's on the vestry of her united the Church of Christ Congregational Church. I've always said that the congregation great out and there was a local librarian named John who grew up in Baltimore where he did sixteen years of Catholic school and then went off to college college. I mean literally none of these people even guys. Every time we meet a gentle on our show it turns out there a quarter Jewish. These people like zero Jew in them and yet they are keeping the Jewish heart beating y missing Pennsylvania. They were interested they were curious they're booking good authors. They're running great programs. The people they bring in Inter asking smart questions Jews by choice we had a convert. who showed up a Sherry came and said thank you for your your help on my journey? The podcast has been meaningful to me. gentile L. spouses of Jews. Why a missing? Pennsylvania was among the greatest afternoons of my life is how it ought to be how it ought to be. Whatever New York like fucking fucking A.? Y. A. Missing Pennsylvania it there. Are Jews starve reading. The News starts reading this and I want to see even today do an event at the Barnes and Noble in Union Square. And you'll get fifty fifty three people and I go to why missing and get forty and in town. That's probably like twelve thousand people get numbers you get. People are truly engaged truly engaged and so grateful full end their listeners and the ones who aren't listeners could become listeners I it was it was magical. Speaking of Magic Amazon is somehow making the Nazis disappear in news to the Jews. This this week we learned from the New York Times about that Amazon is and I quote quietly canceling its Nazis over the past eighteen months. The retailer has removed books by David. Duke a former the leader of the Ku Klux Klan as well as several titles by George Lincoln Rockwell founder of the American Nazi Party Amazon also prohibited volumes like the ruling elite the Zionist seizure of world power and and history of central banking and the enslavement of mankind from its virtual shelves. What are we think of Amazon? Taking strong hand Nazi literature out of its store. You're I'm not down with it. I'm not either tell you. Because here's the thing. Once you at a major conglomerates start making judgment calls about what is and is is not permissible for its captive audience to read. I think you're sorta screwed actually kind of a free speech absolutist in this way like yes I want everyone three David Duke Doc if only because once you do unless you're total frigging maniacal moron. You'd understand that this is absolute drivel. Actually want like free copies and like every this show be like. Hey guys here you go and try to get your way through mine com- If you can't get twelve pages into it. It's the most boring stuff you'll ever find. The beginning is funny. The middle sags the characterization gets gets a little thin toward the ad still never figured out how it ended. I never read it. No but really like do I really want Amazon making this call them. Why not the next up being like well you know This type of ideology is also quite offensive to us in history is in the type of thing we want people to read. You can imagine agenda that you can imagine where it goes very quickly to Jews in the Middle East or Zionist saying. We don't WanNa read you know the Hamas Charter and Palestinian activists saying we don't want to read. This spoke about the founding of Israel. I mean it's all of a sudden you've a lot of people who authentically believe that they are keeping genocidal literature out of the hands of other people saying what people can and cannot read and you add in the fact that Amazon really does have a kind of monopoly power. What we're reading? Yeah and find the these days of elsewhere.

You know, what they say about your favorite movie? No matter. How many times you watch? It always ends the same. That is not true. For one episode of the Netflix show black mirror. An episode called bender snatch lets viewers make decisions for the main character the format reminds some people of the shoes your own adventure book series. And that prompted choose your on adventures publisher to choose this adventure. They chose to sue. Here's a Lexi Horowitz Ghazi of NPR's planet money podcast. Choose your own adventure books, are what people often point to when trying to explain the concept of interactive narrative the series sold more than two hundred fifty million copies over its heyday in the nineteen eighties and nineties, it's popular. Rarity waned, but the fanfare around net. Flicks is banner snatch has signaled new hope for the interactive genera, Shannon, Gilligan is the CEO. And publisher of choose co the company that currently publishes that choosier on adventure books, and is suing Netflix, even she sees banner snatch as a turning point for the interactive narrative market. I think that we are seeing the beginning of a new genre in streaming end in theatrical release. So why is the small publisher of the choose your own adventure books suing the company that could help jump start the market for interactive content. We simply want to protect our trademark bender. Snatch tells the dark and sometimes gruesome story of teenage programmer as he works to adopt a fictional book called Bander snatch into a video game with multiple branching plotlines, choose coz lawsuit evolved out of this scene knows that she's your own eventually book. You decide what your character does? Look a game. That is the moment. Choose co claims that Netflix ran afoul of their trademark. Choose goes suit claims that net Netflix is use of the phrase. Choose your own adventure causes confusion for viewers about whether or not Bander snatch is affiliated with choose coz signature book series. It's not for the record. It also claims that being associated with the dark content in banner snatch turning the family friendly reputation of choosier on adventure books and the company is suing for both in injunction against net. Netflix and damages of at least twenty five million dollars again, choose coz publisher, Shannon, Gilligan trademark law. Requires that you protect your Mark. Because if you don't you lose control of it. So it makes perfect sense. From choose coz perspective to try to ring. Whatever value remains out of this trademark. Chris bregman teaches law at New York University spokesman says that choose coz lawsuit is also about combating one of the great dangers to try. Mark holders. The concept known as genera side, genera side is the idea that trademark law is not supposed to be withdrawing words from the English language if the trademarked name for a particular product manages to become so popular it's used in everyday language to describe a whole category of products. It runs the risk of losing its status as a valid trademark case. In point the words zipper was originally a trademark for a tooth closure. But people started using the words zipper for any tooth closure and that trademark became worthless. It became generic aspirin thermos escalator just a few one time trademarks that have succumbed to genera side. And while companies are obliged to fight to protect their trademark. They also run the risk of losing it in the process because the legal determination that a trademark has become generic often happens through lawsuits like this one Chris sprig mint says that means there's an inherent risk to choose coast strategy. He other playing with fire because it's entire. Airlie possible that choose co files a lawsuit. They end up with a finding that the Marcus become generic Carla Engelbrecht director of product innovation at Netflix wouldn't comment on the lawsuit. But she says that Bander snatch has tested the technology and confirmed the appetite for new interactive programming. What does it mean for romance? What does it mean for documentaries personally? I would love to see a really soapy cheesy telenovela. That's like slap him or cheat on him.
