Blame Jon Gruden for the Raiders’ loss to the Dolphins... but do it for the right reason
"Raiders lost to miami. Las vegas raiders are now seven and eight. They missed the playoffs again. This year and the blame has got to go on. Jon gruden their head. Coach I i like jon gruden. I think there have been moments where he's done a good job preparing his team to play. I thought the highlight of the year for las vegas. Raiders was beating the kansas city chiefs. They looked very well prepared. That a great game plan But again this loss to miami coach. The recent failures by the raiders has to go on. Jon gruden you're gonna blame jon gruden for the loss. Make sure you do it for the right reason. So all the attention after this game has gone onto john. Gruden's late dame decision making against miami. Where the raiders had the ball first and goal on the eight yard line with a minute and fifty five seconds left. And the raiders chose to not score a touchdown they had. I mean they first of all they had the running back. Josh jacobs literally taking the other one yard line that he slid down to avoid scoring and did not want a touchdown would have given them a six point lead because they had they were down gas. Were down twenty four twenty five so they didn't want to have a six point lead. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as possible then on third and goal derek carr literally kneeled to continue to run the clock down and they kicked field goal. Giving them a twenty five to twenty three lead with nineteen seconds. Left in the game and people are critical. The strategy like you should have done other stuff. You should've taken the touchdown you should've done. Whatever coulda woulda should say whatever you want to say. I don't think this is the reason to criticize john. Gruden every once in a while you have a strategy. That is a good strategy. That simply doesn't work. I play video. What is it not a tabletop. Game like a board game called settlers of catan a giant nerd and my family. We all play during christmas. And i had a great strategy of putting my game pieces on the the number eight. Meaning that if you have to you have a high percentage chance of rolling in eight like you would think yeah. It's literally six and eight or two of the highest six eight and seven like the highest possible. Things could roll when you're rolling. Two dice and eighths just never got role but i waited and waited my whole strategy revolves around rolling eight with these two dice. And it didn't happen. And i don't know this the probability or whatever. I just know that on paper. That's a good strategy. Like eight gets rolled all the time and this game. It was an anomaly. It didn't happen and that happens sometimes every once in a while you good strategy that for one reason or another. There's an anomaly. And it doesn't work out
Have the 'Bad Boys' Pistons been overlooked in NBA history?
"Had a great relationship that you're going to bring some of the stuff that you when you cover the bad boys the Pistons. Yes, your relationship. Someone will break horn and those guys in that area some new insight because now we're especially with the day of covet we're supposed to live through the past and you know the big dance the last dance with with Michael was such a huge thing that happened. The Pistons were right in the middle or at the end of the beginning or the ending of where Michael started. Yeah. Yeah, and and and for me, you know, I I was around that team at a time when they took the Pinnacle of NBA greatness. And so there are lots of stories that you know, I have stored away. I mean like when I was there when they won the title in 2004 would rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups and all those guys and they were little things that they did that people didn't realize played a role in winning a title things like Larry Brown, for example, the first play of every single game if they went to jail ball was get that damn ball to Ben Wallace and let him go to work because big fella knew he wasn't touching the rock much at all if at all after that, so they made a point of getting him the ball first possession every single time. They got the ball in office and they just cleared out and let him go to work and if he scored great if he didn't we gave you a shot. It's little things like that that helped them build team. Chemistry and bonding and Trust knowing that hey going to get you twenty-five Thirty points, but if you don't do the big fella bone and you going to get you 15 Reba, I don't know any other brothers often times. I can think of that had developed that kind of chemistry and I was on the championship teams. We liked each other but with those pills like those dudes would suck blood brothers. Like, you know, it's like the way they think the way they perform it was like bad boys in the years that bad boys for life like that movie that's just seemed like the way they were

Stunning against the left handed what he had the walk against. Would batting right handed. That's One. Right handed bat Shan. He takes high for a ball to win one. A little frustrated right now, John, We're this command. Maria's Ah young guy is he's never beaten the Giants and yet his lifetime earned run average against the Giants is 1.34 But no actual William, that's ridiculous. How does that even happen? "We got a couple of teams rookies coming into camp today for covert testing chiefs and Texans. You got the players putting the other This online campaign about wanting more answers about safety and guidelines and protocols. They use the hashtag. We want to play at least on Twitter yesterday, and it does Toto your fellows a stat of the clubs that don't go hanging out in the club. I got a pregnant wife at home. I need all my teammates to make sure that I trust you again. This goes back to and I'm sure you guys have done this. So, G If you had some friends over, you know that they're not covert 19 positive. You know that from talking to them and being around them their entire lives or whatever. So you feel comfortable being around those? Those people, right? Yeah, it's a handful. But yes, And now you have 80 teammates showing up or maybe 90. Up to 90 I guess. But 80 teammates all showing up. Do you think that all 80 teammates are going to be doing the right things away from the facility That's gonna lost in asking a lot too big and that's where the players we gotta hold each other accountable. You could sit here and say, You know, what is the NFL doing for us? What is the NFL doing? A. What are you doing for each other? Because you know the Marcus Laurence doesn't want to show up and I get it If he doesn't want to show up, then don't show up. But you know the other guys in that locker room, But I understand that the Marcus Lawrence every time he's coming to work. He feels like he's taking a risk, and he's putting his wife at risk of she's pregnant. So those other players in that locker room can't be out screwing around and putting themselves at risk and then bringing it back in the locker room. That's the other part of the story. You know what a player's What the hell are you doing for each other? And that's why that snitch hotline as ridiculous as it is actually showed me that there were a lot of n ba players. It really did care about the season starting and staying healthy, You know, I mean, I didn't love the fact that they would do it anonymously and not go and talk to the guy. But it did show you that they cared, which is something that was important for this for this league happened yet have more people care and then not Son do And then some. Don't And you know that's the problem. You know, Some people are aware and take care of themselves and are trying to protect others around them. And then others don't And that would that would be my worry is not so much about what I would end up being what I would end up doing. It's what everybody else else that I'm showing up to work with is doing away from work. You mentioned playing games, the MBA very close to playing games as well. Right now, going through their camp in Orlando. Here's Carmelo Anthony of the Blazers. His teammates are calling him skinny. Mellow is he shed a lot of weight. Looks good here was mellow on where he's at wait wives to kind of play with some things, and I know my died of my work. I was tutoring. Again. We didn't know what what was going to be outcome of us coming back When we was coming back. He used a holistic approach, as he says as he looks very thin and fan others James Harden back with his club and hopefully the MBA playing those AA lot of good things for everyone, Okay? Not so fast, you, Jerry, are they playing in a ballroom? I think their practices are no way. Didn't shack say the plane in a ballroom? Anything could happen in a ball. Yeah, Say that I think it more of a joke. They're playing in the arenas that air. They're They're practicing in the bar, their pride, right? They had floors. From what? I understand it. They had floors put down In their own ballroom so they can hold practices. But the games and the exhibition games are going to be in the I guess there's three or four of the arenas that our broadcast at least two of them. I know our broadcast on TV ready Aunt. I think that's what they're using for games and exhibitions. But, yes, I believe they're practicing in makeshift ballroom rise, so don't work kind of kind of kind of look like a summer league game. I think that yes, I think that's exactly and I said that Gigi last week because you know we were talking about When was it? Which ball one? Where? Which Ball? One Wasn't Lonzo Lonzo Posey. Remember, Remember, we were watching those games. You couldn't wait to watch those Vegas games. I think that's probably what it's gonna look like. I don't think And did you watch any of the basketball tournament? Former No. Okay. Never want Rangers play the Hurricanes. Look, it's first you weren't the only one. I didn't see anything. Basketball tournament. You talked a basketball tournament for a $1,000,000. What the hell was that? Eddie? You want to chime in here? So you watched it. Yeah. The Golden Eagles beat Ah, fight cancer or something like that. Oh, that was this recent? Yes. OK, just last week and I got to tell you. I watched you watch a lot of it, but that I watch portions of games. Yes. Oh, I just seems myself there I smile. Question on. Did it look good They had they had like advertisements on the tarps. They had the P A announcer. They played the music during the game. It wasn't bad. And if that's what the NBA's gonna look like, I'm in I think it be fantastic. So should be good on golf. John Graham wins the memorial. If you can give me the RAHM clip here, Eddie Because with that win, he becomes the number one player in the world. It's incredible to be a Spaniard. A second Spaniard to ever do it. I'm getting. There's not that many Europeans that have come to this spot. It's a pretty unique feeling. So I'm gonna enjoy it for a while. Not bad, and he had to start penalty. Would you guys talked about fought through that Silla three shot win Pretty impressive there. You've got the three M Open in Minnesota this week. "Call the ball. One of the earliest signs of politicization was the broad animus directed at protesters who objected to the lockdowns. It is remarkable how casually political leaders and health officials disparaged and ban their activities and even targeted protesters for prosecution. Politics was also would play with New York's mayor, Bill de Blasi, awarded police in Brooklyn to bake break up a crowd of Mourners who gathered for a Hasidic Jewish funeral. Same thing applies to a governor Phil Murphy in New Jersey, warning that their actions were unacceptable and threatening to arrest them. Contrast, this with the approach that many of the same political leaders and public health experts took towards the protest catalyzed catalyzed by George Floyd's killing Those protesters were neither maligned or targeted with fines and arrest based on social distancing or mask mandates. They were often joined in the streets by politicians such as L. A Mayor Eric Garcetti and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Coronavirus: Death toll from China virus outbreak passes 100
"Morning how severe is the spread of the coronavirus health officials around the world are plainly concerned an outbreak centers on China where officials have blocked traffic in and out of multiple cities Hong Kong cut back connections with the mainland the United States is urging Americans to avoid all nonessential travel to China and your science correspondent Richard Harris is here to assess what officials are up against Richard good morning morning skate what are some numbers that give us a sense of the scale of this well the numbers keep growing rapidly but the latest figures show about four thousand cases narrow the vast majority in China and more than a hundred deaths have now been reported those are probably even underestimates at least a case or two has been reported in at least sixteen other countries around the world just five cases here in the United States or been diagnosed and those are all among people who had recently seen in the city of Wuhan where the outbreak began but yesterday said just five cases in the United States is there a risk of more there are likely to be more cases health officials say especially from other people who had been in China and I've come home recently so less clear is whether any of the people who have it now have passed it along to others it's a respiratory virus so it could spread from a cough or sneeze or perhaps on the surface like a bed rail in hospital room or something and people at greatest risk would be the actual health care workers who are in those rooms and caring for those patients how deadly is this virus if you get it that isn't an unresolved question but according to reports in the latest journal the lancet it seems like only three percent thus far in China who came down with the disease actually died but that three percent number is subject to change as more deaths get reported that will obviously change that though the mortality rate of the previous virus that was similar to this is the sars virus and that ended up killing about ten percent of people Richard this is one of these viruses where you are contagious before you were notably sick you might not have any idea whether you're spreading it or not that is an open question obviously you it would be an important factor in the spread of the disease that does happen as you mentioned in like in in the in the flu measles that happens for so it's not an unusual thing if it were to happen but sars this previous coronavirus seems only to spread when it was symptomatic yesterday in a telephone news conference at CDC official death doctor Nancy missing a got a question on this point in here's what she said we at CDC don't have any clear evidence of patients being anxious before symptom onset however we are being with our state and local health department partners very aggressive and very cautious in tracking of close contacts to determine if we are able to identify and Texas are ill so far we have not seen any human to human transmission in the United States and respiratory diseases as I mentioned office printer cough and that is in fact a symptom right so along with fever or shortness of breath for this one how concerned are the experts here I spoke to an epidemiologist at the university of Toronto yesterday who said it will be hardest by far to get this epidemic under control in China because are already so many cases in each one has the potential to spread it further Dr David Fishman is trying to contain says trying to contain the epidemic in trying is like being an outfielder and being told to catch you know hundred fly balls at once he says the task is much easier here we're kind of getting knocked fly balls one at a time and the job is not to drop them all but that's much easier than playing catch up when you fill out an academic to to grow to a point where you have thousands of cases and now you're trying to sort of track your coolant and prevent transmission so at this point the CDC's messages that this is a serious condition obviously but we in the United States are currently at very low risk is always subject to change but as long as are just a handful of cases as is the case right now health officials can stay on top of it the trick is to identify the sick people isolate them quickly to keep an eye on their contacts and to make sure that the health care providers are also taking precautions they need to they don't get sick themselves Richard thanks for the insights my pleasure NPR science correspondent

Jalen Ramsey Active, Will Start for Jaguars vs. Titans After Requesting Trade
"Moving onto jalen Ramsey he wants out of Jacksonville unfortunately for him he will be playing against the dines tonight for Jacksonville in Jacksonville the Jags all pro cornerback has requested a trade but we'll be active again with the trade seemingly coming sometime after the game so C. C. which contender should try to acquire Jalen Ramsey. I don't mean I it doesn't have to be a contender tender for me right now. We only played two games. Everyone's a contender the giants I think we make a quarterback's which we right back into this but I think there are certain places that would be better perform. I think the raiders Jon Gruden got the CAP space. They got a really young teen. They could use the corner play. They could also use a star going to Las Vegas the Tennessee Titans. I do believe coach coons. He was a legendary highschool coach coach at Ohio State. He only coastal hieaux until last year we took the job in Tennessee variable who has experienced at Ohio state went there and got him. He is a great defensive back coach in his hometown there with the Titan the raiders are the titans feel are the smoothest transitions for him for a guy that has that type of skill set big corner wants to play a lot of man to man and as we said before he's from Tennessee and wants to go back there and anytime if you can get a big time star like that in a smaller market like Tennessee yeah I think that they should look into that particularly when he's listed the titans previously before the season as a place he'd like to play sometimes you worry big-time star. Would he be happy going to a small market the size of the market in Jacksonville's not why he's unhappy and because of his roots in Tennessee he has already said Nashville would be a place. He wants to thirty proven that he can get national attention no no matter no matter what I mean he's he's one of the star players in the league and one of the faces of the League that we have on the defensive side of the ball one team you mentioned yesterday for I give a couple of others that that I thought really interesting was Philly Philly. Obviously is a contender philly that is the place where they need. I would argue help the most on the back end of their defense particularly the corners because is I liked now. Come Jenkins. I understand we're talking about phillies injuries those they deal with spate of season ending injuries for Philadelphia with how active Howie Roseman has been and how great he's been at almost manipulating the cap to free up space when they need it you would mention philly yesterday that to me is a really interesting fit. It would be something that if you're the Dallas cowboys and you see wait eagles got who the Eagles got jalen Ramsey at the not even at the deadline a month into the season that could be a game changer. I'M GONNA mention a team no one's attaching them to but I think they have the space the picks they have the need. What about the Los Angeles Angeles chargers now maybe they don't WanNa pay Jalen Ramsey they all they're going to have to pay Joey Bosa two guys but they have the cap space to do it? They they are right now. They know that last year they were this close to being the number one seed in the AFC Derwin James is going to come back at some point at the end of the season they already have an extraordinary corner in Casey Hayward but they're starting a guy who was an undrafted free agent couple years ago at the other corner spot if you added few had Casey Hayward Jalen Ramsey Ramsey winter when James comes back that immediately becomes far and away the best secondary in the NFL well for one next year to pay Joey Bosa Casey's already already making a bunch of money Derwin James you already know you're going to have to pay him now. Both of those guys being from Florida state sometime. You think that oh well. Maybe that would work well. Maybe that might Mike not work so I don't know they haven't been the most contract friendly to their player. Philip rivers doesn't have a contract so to me. That's a lot of money that a team that is not customary to pay a lot of money. I don't think they would have that kind of money tied up in their secondary. Just two more teams quickly obviously yesterday. We talked a lot about the chiefs. It's for the cheap since the best player available at the biggest position of need but I do think the chiefs would have real cap issues with that Patrick mahomes going to become the highest paid player forever a year from now. They paid tyreek Hill. They went they paid frank. Clark may be above market. Sammy Watkins they can get off him next year. If they want to play really well race you're adding the highest paid corner in. NFL history was what Jalen is going to become would be tough to keep an eye on the colts though called I mean the colts have enormous cap space the draft capital. They're obviously going to try to win without being a super explosive offense the culture. If I'm Chris Ballard with Andy I am calling Jacksonville and bill and trying to take their temperature on that but he plays his last game tonight for the Jaguars most likely absolutely that would be my guess about eight players to borough road
The Role Of TV In Today's Politics
"Were joined by Brian Steinberg. He covers the business of advertising media and television variety. Hey Brian. How are you doing John. I'm I am well. Let's talk about the controversy over an ad that ran during last night's Democratic candidate debate. Tell us what that ad was about yeah. This is a spot showed New York Representative House Angie Occasional Cortez with becky burning on on camera. It's very dark and noticeable thing to do and probably not the norm. This is the face of socialism and ignorance does Alexandra Cossio Cortez. No the whore war socialism. My father was minutes from death in Cambodia before a forced marriage saved his life. That's socialism forced obedience chance starvation it was by somebody named Elizabeth hang and it was through a political action committee. What do we know about Elizabeth Tang and the Political Action Committee. Put The ad together we oh she's a Republican activist. I believe she's also a former congressional candidate who did not win when she did run so she did that and I think she she's a member this past. She's definitely a political operative some people are calling for a boycott of ABC the but it's unclear to me of the ad ran on the network or stations owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Do you know where it ran and who ran it. We're not quite clear that my guest and educated guess most political advertisers are quite I guess is probably medium small size probably could not afford a national ad buy on ABC in Primetime Mike the Strategy Policy would be to run the AD in certain markets that have the people they're trying unreach- most intently my educated guess would say they probably bought stations in certain markets where we're trying to make a point that could be big cities as well as small towns towns will definitely appears run in Washington. DC and a lot of people are now watching the ad online so it may not have been something that was approved by ABC but in rough terms what does it network have to say about what ads are and are not on its airwaves now works with these type of things typically typically. I think tried to not run ads that require them to give equal voice other parties and other what that means they would have to run commercials goals. Ad Infinitum for PLO things there are there are mistakes and they're having the passion they run certain commercials that are just so political that require an opposing viewpoint almost immediately or are. Are you know the claims verified immediately but they're supposed to kind of vet most commercials for clean competitive claims and that sort of thing and I would be suspicious. ABC Rams nationwide. I think it's important to note what the Sinclair Broadcast Group is because they are also not only an owner of almost two hundred rid stations across the country but they appear to have a political agenda and have been asking some of their news anchors to run political pieces that basically echo some talking points out of the trump White House so who's in Clare and why are they an important part of this story well sinclair is a massively large owner of stations they own stations that are of ABC and others they haven't known to set a conservative agenda in recent years to build their own newsgathering and news programming across the nation and they've also mandated in certain instances for their various local news programs to take up certain topics or broadcast certain editorials from people who were hired by Sinclair without always disclosing that the station ownership within the company ownership has certain political stances is there anything that people people could ask either sinclair or ABC to do in terms of response. Does the equal time idea still apply well when politicians get on they you know they're the network is typically. mandated to provide access to someone via posing as what they typically avoid. They're very strict about these these local commercials. I think you know this happened on. NBC RAN AN AD showing people swarming wall during the immigration controversy and it ran during football the ball one of the biggest shows on the schedule everyone saw and NBC actually came out with the same should not run was an error on our part that the ad ran so networks works are cognizant of these things and they usually wash more closely which is why we have to get the bomb whether they national random nationally ran station by station where the networks often are surprised to find out what some of the stations are putting on the air. It seems like a massive reached compare Alexandra Causo Cortes to Pol Pot or the Khmer Rouge but do the people who put this ad together have the freedom to suggest that even if it's not essentially factually true you're supposed to make verifiable verifiable claims now as for products politics can kind of range farther afield you see all kinds of claims and things and one reason that this is kind of flourishes in the majority. Giardi of political advertising takes place on the locals have local adds to your not national nationalists a far too expensive for most people to afford running on a regular basis and and be a not very targeted if you're if you're running for Senate in in Saint Louis. There's little reason to add New York City national candidate. Y- The president you can probably tell you the markets that are most up for

Over to be held up his resort area was briskets quickly Naji, ninety single back. Toback knocks off of ten but runners on the corners with nobody out. Not just trailing two to one as golden opportunity here in the whole half of fifth inning. That brings up overnight hitter, Johnny Andreoli who singled his first. But if you listen to Bill Buckner talk in recent years, he had essentially come to peace with what happened in the era of the ground ball, it by Mookie Wilson that ended up winning game six eighty six. Attitude changed about it was finding talk about the play. There were so many other things that Bill Buckner. Accomplished in his long professional baseball career as you mentioned. But maybe BUSTER, just noticed sometimes BUSTER, will. And I think the pitchers appreciate it. If if BUSTER notices that something wasn't the way it usually is with that delivery from Watson. Vic busters not afraid to come out and make a little suggestion or give a pointer to a pitcher. One another count to Donaldson runner at first one out two run lead for the giants eighth inning. Here's the pitch. It is a called strike with a fastball ninety four miles an hour. Watson has not relied on the strike. Yup. And it kinda makes a rarity these days for late inning reliever to not rely on the power pitching Watson, seventeen innings coming in twelve strikeouts. The almost never walks anybody. Here's the one one. Donaldson takes high fastball two and one. He got another powerful hitter on deck Austin Riley. And then a guy after that Ozzy obviously is such a good hitter against left handed pitching. This is a gauntlet for Watson. Solano shaded toward the whole panic. Up the middle. It's second throw to first Swanson back to the bag standing case you're wondering dance Swanson, has four steals in six tries to not impossible that he would take off. You do have the left hand pitcher out there, which I think it's always an advantage late in a game in a close game to have a lefty on the mound to one his swung on and missed changeup strike, too. Limit the chances of steel you limit the lead you limit the jump with the lefty out there. To and to do a former MVP Josh styles having another good year. One of things when you talk to players that ended up signing late or maybe even into the season. One of the toughest thing is in the off seasons. When your buddies leave that you work out with and trained with they go to camp next pitches infrastructure to get one to cargo then you gotta figure it out on your own as far as who's gonna throw to me whom I going to play catch with it becomes more of a chore to sort of get your work in the last year. UVA basketball coach Tony Bennett on win
"We want to welcome in coach Tony Bennett who last night, man. Oh, man, UVA put an absolute clinic certainly in the last fifteen minutes onto cues coach, thanks for taking the time. Your team last night. I know you've had great games over the years. But that was about as good a fifteen minutes is I've seen all year in college basketball -fensive defensively. What were your thoughts on it three or so hot? And just started clicking them in our defense. Really? You know, it kind of I guess fueled our defense. So it was important to that was a tight game. And it it opened up with like I said it's sort of perfect storm. But I was it was fun to coach that you don't always that stretch was as you guys know as well as as all of I'm not sure Danny Hannity. Those. No, no, not like that brother. No. No. No, no. What did you say to you guys at halftime because you guys were pretty loose with the ball first half. And then the second half did a great job of taking care of the ball. And you did a great job of figuring out a way to get almost matching up with zone and then getting into the middle of ninja satanic from there. What was your message? Yeah. I think we had eight turnovers and we gave up eight offense rebound. You know, y'all look at those stats that we realized like say, you know, what do we have to do to eliminate losing? I, and we gotta have no you better have an a or a minus in, you know, taking care of the ball giving up, you know, or one and done on the rebounding, and then obviously, no fast-break points. And we just have those gotta clean up and play the game. And you know, our guys have been experienced, and and that known it can go both ways it takes a little bit of a Justin the length of it and all that stuff and also sometimes that zone just to you and you're playing well, so it's a double edged sword. But thought we just at the you know, we got some guys behind zone that could catch and finish. We we missed a few in the first half. So it wasn't. I didn't like blow them up was just like listen, if we're going to be effective as what we have to do. And I thought the Andre really guarded battle because they have some really good individual one on one players and our defense. I thought took a step, you know, in that stretch where we just spread out played are gaps. But we bothered individual shots. And then as I said kept him off at lasts without a company with the kind of the the shooting and the offense of output. Really? You know was a quick turnaround. Coach it you mentioned the word blow your team up. I'd seems to me senior back in the Bahamas and watching you now this looks like a team that you don't have to blow up very often is it. No. I think you you feel the mood. I think you know, practice has to be sharp and intense and challenging, and then, you know, if you sense it as a coach in a moment, whether it's at halftime at a time out just need to. Okay. Yeah. Sometimes have to trust that. But when you have experienced players, you know, it's this level. You gotta play the possessions. And it's whether there's different ways to do it. But I think the experience and no one, you know, we're we're in a race year support for us that was a huge game for us. Now, we still have a chance at a an ACC regular season

"Rutgers struggling shooting the ball one for their last five the risk of by for their last eight and the nine turnovers. Lack of possesses lack of shots. So Nebraska zone is eleven to two run. Well, that seems to be the recurring theme. Yes. It is Rutgers battles with basically everybody. But when they go through the shooting walls, whether it's three four five six minutes. The other team has been opportunity to greets separation. Yes, they do. And and when you when you turn the ball over then puts less pressure on the defense to right? So they can relax a little bit. They call this team enough talent Besley anyway, so. And I know it depends on when they come. But you know, if you you turn the ball over nine tenths for a game, you can live with it nine times in thirteen minutes is unacceptable. Then again this team please the big ten in steals, which still here's Baker on the right side shot clock is at ten works rate between the circles guarded by Watson using a cross over to let back to the right and loses the ball on the way up into the hands of Palmer. He'll have an easy breakaway done. Scream. And it's twenty five sixteen ten turnover. Leads to an easy to. Thirteen to. Number eleven for Rutgers five and a half to go here on the first Peter kiss comes back in sodas, Ron Harper Mathis and chomp sit down metal on a sound like pollyanna, but you know, Rutgers is fortunate. The only be down seven point with ten turnovers. Eleven verse eleven in verse fifteen minutes. Watson with the basketball steps back door right for Copeland. Open threes. Ten points for Copeland in the first half. And it's in twenty and eighteen lead. Now for Nebraska with five twenty two on the first. Nebraska, not a great three point shooting team started three of five. Here's Baker top of the key turning finding Peter kiss and the passes right into the hands of Copland. And then Omori commits the foul twelve turnovers for writers. And then you compound the problem with the foul, Jerry. I I have the shot chart with turnovers. Yeah. Not good. I don't think I've ever had this and a half. Nebraska just jumping every passing lane now so Rutgers just a little hesitant on offense. And getting really hurt. Twenty eight eighteen Nebraska Watson top of the key pull up. Three is good. And it's thirty one eighteen. Doctors led to stay fourteen twelve you do the math and it comes up to a nineteen four run. Harper right side bounce pass to Omori guarded by Copeland facism shoulders way in gets him in the air puts it up. Good. And a foul is called just see how much this team Misugisato marines. Absolutely. Copland picks up the personal foul. That'll be his first in all Marie to the line. Looking to complete a three point play Copeland will sit I can't comes back in. Got the ball on the low post to Eugene. And he had Copeland Roby too. Great shot blockers on them. Just really a terrific ball fake there. Free throw good for Omorogie. So Rutgers within ten thirty one Twenty-one, Nebraska four and a half player the first Rutgers soft pressure. Stops stops, the bleeding Watson pass it to the right side for Harris. Right back to Watson left side beyond the arc by Baker. Robie setting the screen Watson slides let feet ropy on the right side. Roby cuts through the defense. Double dribbles Nebraska with their sixth turnover comes away with it with four twelve to go on the first trailing thirty one Twenty-one give that to you Gino Murray. Just good defense that time by gene force that turnover by Roby was going to the basket for a dunk. Baker to the left side of the Brassica bench fire past two miles Johnson, Lola's blocked, parts and don'ts. Both defenders went for the steal. Judge. Read the ball went beyond them had it easy to in bad pass by Watson seven turnover by bresca as it sails out of bounds. It will be Rutgers ball after the timeout. Three forty eight player..
"ball one" Discussed on WFAN Sports Radio_FM
"Eight seven seven thirty thirty seven sixty six sixty six. I know for a lot of folks in Kansas City. There's going to be these doom and gloom over again because of the franchise's history east title games. There hasn't been a Super Bowl and forty plus years. They lose another excruciating heartbreaker. At home in the postseason. But I would look at things differently. If I'm a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs this time around because I have. My disposal. A quarterback who's going to be doing spectacular things on the field for a long period of time. And what I loved about Patrick Mahomes in this game the first half against doing land. He rattled. He was off his game. As far as accuracy, you could tell a little jittery. He has that great hookup with tyreek hill down the field. And then boom all of a sudden he's taken an inexcusable sack. I mean, these are sort of mistakes. You can't make a championship game. But then you watch Mahomes come outta the locker room in the second half. And you know, what we saw the same Patrick Mahomes. We saw all year. He was slinging over the field. He was making some of these unbelievable throws the point calling was much better from anti reading company. And I just think the quarterback kind of eased his way into the moment made big poised against the pats all over the place. And again, the biggest compliment I could give them a homes. They got the ball first as opposed to Brady and the patriots. I believe the changed with field scored because the patriots did not have an answer feminist second. Dan have answer when he got him in a field goal range with thirty nine seconds to play. They didn't have an answer when he scored a bunch of second half touchdowns. But at time that game reached number two. It was the same Patrick Mahomes. We saw. Yeah. That's something. I'm taking with me if I'm a chief's fan into the offseason. And I know it's same old same old friend who read losing a championship game. Chiefs losing at home again in the postseason. This feels a little different than me. Fliegelman? I've been of the narrative all along that wake me up when the chiefs can actually win games in January, but I'll make even with somebody. As skeptical and is critical of the chiefs. Of course this year. I come away watching that second half offensively. I was very impressed very sensitively. But then I do wonder can they win the big game. Or will they be the Peyton Manning colts in the decade ago where the offense is there? But the defense doesn't really put it together. That's fair. And I'll tell you this found the chiefs I won't up. I'm taking. Five six seven defensive plastics. Yeah. I mean just load up on that defense as much as humanly possible because the chiefs offense that set now Damian Williams. They have this large figuring Mahomes Tyree. Killed Chavez Kelsey, they're good there. They need some elite level players on that defense. Day at the ball. I there you'll never know. What would happen? And if there's one point is going to you as a chief fan de Ford riding up offside, and what would have been an intercession off the Chester rob gronkowski ended the game. What could have been said to West Point Danny's up next on the fan? Danny Kaye done. Danny what's up? Good. I don't know if I would have been comment. Tommy there, you know, if I had the money line on saying, you know, I think I would have been ranting. Right. You did early. You know, when we started to show. Listen, danny. I was absolutely sick to my stomach is somebody who had a twelve to one take it on a New Orleans Saints to win the Super Bowl. I mean, that's as bad as it gets. Now, look New Orleans miss chances to put that game on ice New Orleans had some very questionable play call decisions. But the game was taken away from them third-down. That's I thing go on the three. They have one time out. You are milking. It you kicking field goal. You're going home. You go into the Super Bowl that will be a complaint that'll be something you hear about New Orleans now drought. The next two weeks the next year the next five years because there will be people around the league there are people listening to this show. I'm one of them who feel they got cheated out of a Super Bowl chance. Yeah. And you appointing out that the patriots all the guys who are making a catches, you know, like rock and HOGAN, and and the thing they have in comedy show the ratings passing the ball to the spot where only receivers can catch it. You know that nobody else can catch it. As you precision at its finest. Now, it'd be nice if the Kansas City Chiefs can make an adjustment for Tony Romo to know, basically every single put it New England's going around. You would think maybe somebody in that Kansas City coaching staff would have that same sort of vision would have that same sort of you know, mindset for calling defensive plays. They didn't have an answer on third down. They didn't have an answer for Tom Brady. But Danny there's a reason why he's been dominating for as long as he's been dominating. He's the greatest quarterback to ever do it. And he reminded again of wise degraded quarterback to ever do it that final driving over overtime all those third down conversions. I mean, Danny that's this surgical as it gets. In nineteen eighty two. I happened to be at the catch game. You know, the Niners giants I mean. Niners in Cowboys and Montana told the ball where only his guy to catch it, you know, which was mostly credible. Gags? All Brady's doing the same thing though. You know, it's big boy football when you're talking about Joe Montana and Tom Brady Tom Brady's been doing for eighteen years, though. From two thousand one now all the way until two thousand nineteen here in the present day. The quarterback is like fine wine. Miley help with the pats going back to the Super Bowl is that maybe Tom Brady will say after Super Bowl number six if the patriots get it done. Maybe I'm going to write off in sunset. I won't believe Brady's done until that day actually comes. That's what I'm like holding out hope for. Guy who was pulling for Kansas City is the guy who's pulling for the New Orleans Saints. Now, it wasn't a pleasant Sunday for me. But you know, what? For the first time ever. We had two championship games going over time. That's pretty cool. That's pretty special. And yes, there will be some officiating Steph foods that will get a lot of attention. And the talk will be about the call and the lack of a call and saints Rams game. And the roughing the past the call to New England game, and maybe tweaking the overtime. But the NFL with the numbers have ratings wise. Dan, Ryan on dotted line for having to championship games. Going to overtime. Let's head to Brooklyn aren't good pal. Omar, omar. Monning all longtime to speak. What's happening, bro? Pretty good. I just wanted to ask you this question. Like, listen. I am a fan. I wanted New Orleans to win the game. But don't you think sometimes that how arrogant is the head coach of New Orleans C you like sometimes last year when he lose close game the miracle type of game and they'd be av. Make in a close game. And I think sometimes they behave sweater Gidley. A yes over-confidence is a good thing or confidence. A look at the last thirty nine seconds remaining on new scored a touchdown in regulation and young die was about to celebrate grenade. Ski and Aldebaran came to him. And they shut him down out to celebrate the champion. I'm both. They don't it. Yeah. And they don't basically, I respect their opponents. Enjoy their game win the game and enjoy to the minute that I think New Orleans Saints. And I I never will say he's a great offensive coordinator. Thanks people genius. He is. But he basically blew some game that glows Andy's stupid, everybody talks about angry read. But. Same school head coach. I I'm I'm discussing. A game winning makes a one or two. I understand that play. Sometimes when you're basically expect oh you play deadly Backus. Football. God is not going to give you a bleak. That's something that happens to you. I know more. I think the biggest complaint in this game as far as the play calling. If you want to be critical of Sean Payton, here's your critique. You got a hall of fame quarterback drew Brees? How many times in this game? Do we see tastes in hill winding up and under center quarterback trying to utilize the trick play don't gas? You. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Got your breezy quarterback. Go make magic you know what I mean. Yeah. Hobby. I was watching. Why are you taking control you're trying to control the game? You're just giving the other opponent a job like disrespect. Owning who I am. The biggest book, I'm a fully in town. And nobody could play with me I'm gonna play game. And then. Disrespected the pony. You cannot underestimate any opponent the team that has so much to do you go to come back and he being sometimes out again. It comes to walk game. Gympie a little cocky at times. I don't think that the New Orleans Saints the disrespected the Los Angeles Rams, I really don't. Know there are times New Orleans has kinda pounded their chess. I remember a game they played on Monday night against the giants. This the giants won the Super Bowl. New Orleans was running it up. I mean, they did not hide the fact that they were going to stick to the New York Jets. We've seen the patriots did at at times. But as far as Sean Payton handle in the media after the game. I mean after getting screwed the way he got screwed. I can't fault them. I thought his demeanor. I thought the way he handled the reporters. Was all in all a job. Well done. And that's tough thing to do. I just watch these interview with Erin Andrews, I didn't see it. Because as soon as the game ended I want right to CBS. I wanted to see the start of the chiefs and the patriots. That's tough for breeze painting. Any of those guys to lose a game in fashion. We feel like you had to game on alters legacies alter careers and alters. Your team's chances are going to a Super Bowl to handle it in any dignified, way and other professionals that know they have a job to do that ain't easy for eighteen here on this Monday morning stage Jesse Stansky with you right here on the fatty seven seven thirty seven sixty six sixty six with the officials dinner wrong down in New Orleans. A we're going to see replay expanded thing. It's a question of when not if we're coming right back. Sometimes satisfying, your Wendy's craving can seem like a quest. I have to put on shoes and find my keys both door delivery. Wendy's comes to you. So I don't need my keys..
