Actor Julian Sands missing in Southern California mountains
"Authorities say actor Julian sands has been missing since Friday in the Southern California mountains. The San Bernardino county sheriff's department says the 65 year old actor was reported missing by his family last Friday when he didn't return from hiking a trail on mount baldy. Sheriff spokesperson Gloria huerta tells K ABC that rescue crews searching the San Gabriel mountains had to suspend the ground search on Saturday because of trail conditions and avalanche risks. The conditions are too dangerous. In fact, even some of the, it's more experienced tigers are getting themselves into trouble up there. What's in the Bipartisan Gun Legislation Agreement?
"Of stuff from senator cornyn's office on the bill. It reads, quote, this is a targeted bit of a legislation addressing specific problems that have led to recent mass shooting. Get that, they're specifically addressing evolving. And there was news on baldy, which I'll come to in a second. Unless you are adjudicated mentally ill or a convicted violent criminal, your Second Amendment rights are not affected by this bill. So don't get upset. If you are a gun proponent, a gun owner, it's not going to impact you. In your law abiding. The proposal ensures schools are safe, kids are protected without placing new restrictions on law abiding gun owner. Big new investment mental healthcare, including in rural areas, more resources for school safety and school hardening helps keep gun out of the hands of those who aren't supposed to have them. Federal funding to implement programs help those suffering from mental illness, like veterans courts homelessness courts assisted outpatient treatment, increases the mental health and suicide prevention programs crisis and trauma intervention. That's all good. Invests in telehealth, mental health services in schools, including early identification and intervention. Intervention made the key to me. They've known they have known from the beginning, who the disturbed children are, and when they turn 18, they ought not to be able to run out and get a gun. And so, there are additional times for waiting if you're between 18 and 20. And if there's a reason for concern, it's a ten day waiting period, and that's good.

Okay guys, so I'm trying to figure that out too because for those of you that listen to my podcast episode that I just released last week that whole episode was not only about me going back home to the Boston area, going to a Red Sox game, hanging out with my friends and family. Doing all kinds of fun things that I normally do when I'm back in Massachusetts, but I let you all in on a little secret. I told you guys that my sister was pregnant that back in June I went home for her baby shower that I helped her with her gifts, but the food was incredible. We had a brunch style hangout, the venue was outstandingly gorgeous. It was at a vineyard. The room was filled with gifts from top to bottom, delicious treats and the brunch was absolutely incredible. Of course, your girl Britt had some mimosas. Also, during that podcast episode, I let you guys know that she was supposed to give birth on August 18th. Baby Ethan was supposed to make his grand a view. And in that podcast episode, we were all guessing my family and I were all guessing what the weight would be and what date maybe Ethan would make his grand debut. I definitely lost because I said it was gonna be August 15th. The reason why I picked that number is because it's Patrick Mahomes number and it's also Ryan's Jersey number for the Tacoma rainiers. Not only allow animals in california to be raises wayne's largest way but it also means they won't sell anything that's raised or slaughtered this way. So now we've just shrunk the market down to four percent or producers and this is the problem with with feel good laws and propositions is that nobody thinks further than this feels. "Cell pretty soon. You're doing sky running up. It's kind of crazy because hell things exactly like you said like how things can happen so quickly and really it was that for meaning i grew up in the rocky mountains in colorado i. I'm based in boulder however groping for college just down the street. Go down the street in my terms. Like away So i knew about trails. Knew about being outside knew more about hiking and so when i discovered that people would trail run. I literally just became enthralled. And just curious to learn as much as i could so trailing right it's anything that's off the pavement But then in the definition of trumpeting. There's so many different avenues that you can do. Most of them are ultras because they're more than a marathon and so i was really curious about that because you could just go so much further in see so much more things in find more bugs in explore more terrain but then the other aspect i love about throwing was going uphill and that's where i kind of just happened upon this thing called sky running where you know. It's basically combined some of the the just mountain summits in just steeper terrain. And i discovered. I had a knack for that like the birth of my nickname. Hilly go and so it just happened to be drawn to that terrain just because i like to get above it all and see you know. Be curious like oh can make it to that peak. And then once i was there it was just amazing to be able to see where i came from and then to figure out that they were racist also included that kind of thing i was just i was just hooked so so we'll sky running usually involves a mountain peak. Is that right yet. So for example there races in united states like Run the rut It's in big sky montana and the summit of that course. The highest point is lone peaks to actually do summit at eleven thousand foot peak in the course of fifty k. Another example is broken. Arrow sky race in squaw valley in california and you are basically running Kind of at the ski resort and but you you summit katie peak. You know that's right there from the from the valley and you need to do these loop courses that are around some of these pretty steep. Mountainous terrain Speedboat fifty k. In outside of snowbird and it's summits like mount baldy believe is But again that's like an eleven thousand foot peak so yeah you candidate combine these than in europe. As i started racing more in europe. It was just like another level because you could actually start at sea level in like summit these mike eight thousand foot peaks in start from touching the sea and then might go up to this mountain peak. You go and it's it's a meditation retreat. You walk around. But there is no verbal communication whatsoever and if you want to stay in your room by yourself you can. I think i would. I would enjoy that. I mean besides work. There's there's times we're all go a couple of days. Without speaking to another person i went to the ever been to mount baldy. Yeah yep yeah. Mount baldy has got a retreat center. The kind of place. Like zen retreat. And you're not allowed to talk and all that stuff. I went there for a long only only four days. When i say a met him we saw each other but we did not speak to each other but it killed me. 'cause i would've loved to talk to leonard cohen. Lisa's going to go up to her brother or vacation for john ireland. Yeah the the the cheese going twice going up there twice today. She told me she goes. I think i'm just going to drive up there and stay there like not come home in between the two weeks. We're we're taking like one week at the beginning of the end. And she's just going to say there and she goes. Do you want me to drive the car back or do you drive it back. I think i do. I drive me. Driving back from idaho by myself actually sounds good to me. Yeah it's his spend two or three days just thinking about stuff. I think it'll be great well. Next week we're driving up are actually tomorrow. We're driving up to Calistoga in wine country. That's why i'm going to be next week and we're going to try a book on tape. You ever try a book on tape. i haven't been. I know people that love him. Yeah i know i just. I don't know if i like the idea of it. We're going to try it out. But i'm not sure if that's something i'm gonna go for. He's quite happy to repeat all of the the war on drugs mistakes but now with menthol cigarettes and like no. He's made no real effort to reschedule. Marijuana or to move to decriminalize it on a federal level None of that. So yeah like not only is the. He's excuse bullshit but he hasn't he hasn't even evolved at least not enough so yeah the whole the whole point is rather stupid and kind of easy to just dismantle but it made for some some tv drama and people online seemed to Get a kick out of it. Even high schools are throwing things up in the air. So what Beijing is doing is saying OK, since satellites are the method of communication all over the world, and satellites are easy to get at. Why don't we just zap them out of existence? And they've been working on it for a bunch of years in 2007 is a matter of fact. You remember this story China hit one of its own satellites. In one of the tests that it did anti satellite are anti satellite armament, and it blew up I'm talking about it was a successful test and all sudden you have the single satellite no longer working that blew up into 1000 pieces, orm or all of them flying around, And the problem is that a pea size shard of any piece of metal out there can wipe out a spacecraft. So that was huge news and Since then, China's conducted about a dozen more tests. Even these warheads that were shot up to that were shot to destroy satellites. Now they're much higher and most American European satellites are at risk. But here is how they're going to do it. Here is the cheapest easiest way for China not only to wage war but to maybe even win the war against us. The military war. And that is cyber attacks. You don't have to build a weapon for cyber attack. You don't have to develop these very complicated, very expensive. You have to test him attacks, physical attacks, all satellites or any part of our infrastructure. What do you do? Well, you have a couple of teenagers sitting in a building. Are in Beijing is a matter of fact. There is one building that the Chinese have Chinese army. They're the ones that are actually involved in this. And it's a five story building and it's nothing but hackers. And these air hired by the government. To hack into other countries, businesses into their databases and, frankly, just wreak havoc. And they've done that a bunch of times. And, uh, The only thing That is going to save if you will. Our economy from just being wiped out and or our defense system is that there are so many different programs and so many different databases out there. We don't have a central database, Sienna say, has one. Uh, and the Pentagon has a very broad one. But, uh, you know, it's like, Let's say you're hacking and you want to stop Space X From launching because the Chinese for some reason, want to destroy our communications communications base. Well, they're now dozens of companies. They're out there, and that's just more difficult to hack. That's the war of the future. This sparked a run on the vaccine traffic from that morning on the way to the vaccination 10 to the Tennessee River Park and Hamilton County, which was backed up for miles. According to local outlet, first one first on three Officials said they didn't want people to continue sitting in their cars and not get the vaccine because supply was limited. That was in a press release on Friday afternoon. At that point, officials projected there were enough doses for the hundreds of people who are waiting in line inside the park. Those people continue through the park route to the vaccination tent. And the last in line left around 4 30 in the afternoon, but It Turns out, there were actually hundreds of more doses. And first on three sent people out to investigate. And the people told them that friends or family members who were helping to administer the vaccine. Told them to come out. Come on out, man. We got the vaccine. Hey, man. People said they were happy that the doses weren't wasted. But disappointed in the authorities management of the situation. That's one story. How about the flu? You remember all of these folks that were telling us about a twin endemic? Oh, you wait till flu season comes and we're gonna have Corona virus and the flu and people could be dropping like flies. Well as it turns out, Cases of the flu are down miraculously from last year, 99.5% Can't get much closer to 100% than then. In week, 51 of the Centers for Disease Control Preventions flew view data monitoring system. 36 positive flu tests were documented. This marks the steep decrease from last year's total of 7703 cases during the same time frame. The positivity rate was sharply as sharply declined this calendar year, as only 0.10% of tests taken this year came back positive. The five year average is about 16%. And she got tested again and it was inconclusive. So she decided to go back and get tested a third time, and they tested her for antibodies of Corona virus and said she had none. So the first Test that says she was positive. Was not the actually that so Here's what I'm telling you. Ah, lot of what we're seeing is passing for Corona virus is actually the flu. The flu hasn't gone down 99.5% over last year. So how many of these cases that are coming back as Corona virus or actually, just the flu? I couldn't tell you, but the sad part is neither could they. They don't know You can't explain this any other way Other than folks, thoughts diagnoses going on. With the coronavirus. And that's been a problem. Since the get go. We have never had consistent. Credible numbers from anybody as far as the cases or as far as the deaths. And we've seen this happen over and over again. Guy gets killed in a motorcycle wreck and South Carolina coronavirus. I mean, it became a running joke with a lot of folks. I mean, you die of whatever you know Coronavirus, everything's coronavirus. So you see people coming in the hospital? I mean, there may be people dying of the flu, but they're saying it's coronavirus. So the tests have not been all that accurate. And the question is how many of you folks who have been tested positive for corn of ours, actually, Well, I'll tell you how you know. Because Corona virus is different from the flu. If you've lost your sense of smell, That's one of the main things if you haven't And you've got flu like symptoms and you haven't lost your sense of smell. And there's probably a good chance you don't have coronavirus. You've got the flu. Because there's no way that the flu.
