Miami Beach mayor on crowds pouring into city
"We want to welcome back to the broadcast. Dan gelber the democratic mayor of miami beach. Mr mayor i. I know you join us in expressing your condolences to the Tragedy The mayor of boulder colorado is going through tonight Local policing is something that has now been focused squarely on us squarely on the city of miami beach. Is you know there were people that thought. Your response was to robust But there were presiding over streets that had been overtaken with people in the midst of a pandemic and first of all. Our hearts are every brian and they are with. All of our city is thinking about Our friends in in baldur's what they're going through its largest question is almost nothing compared to what they're you're doing right now. Our city is a very unusual for us where a destination said he. Typically you know. Seven and a half miles of beaches iconic architecture. We out we embrace anybody who comes here. We love when people create special moments here. That's what we're all about and so right now it's particularly difficult and it's really been recently and i think in in great part because i think we're one of the only cities certainly one of the only major destination cities that are totally open. The governor has demanded that everything be opened in his inviting. Everybody but what's happened is an enormous number of come which has created three major issues. The i heard there's just too many people it's very hard to to manage the secondly there's a number of them are coming with bad intentions and doing things they shouldn't gunplay by the way and the third thing is there's a pandemic going on which doesn't seem like anybody in the crowd really even contemplating notwithstanding our best efforts with the rules were allowed to to To abide by to give masks out and try to urge healthy practices so it's very frustrating. But hopefully it'll be temporary. Utah had heard the coverage. No doubt no doubt you were heartsick over the fact that indeed These pictures were played. And i saw them around the globe. This weekend. They've been repeated in print The allegation was made that the police response was more robust than it should have been Because the crowd was mostly black americans. The allegation was that once they had come together. you had Let it play out. You clearly reached a different conclusion and ordered those streets cleared. Yes you know. This is not spring break as we all think about spring break. Where there's shows sort of mischievous sophomores drinking. Were they should. This was mostly college. Students are older and they're the ones that are problematic. We've had people discharge weapons in crowds thousands of people and peoples running a. We've had people hit by bullets show. It's not something we can tolerate it all in our city. I appreciate that people are concerned about over policing for i had this job. I was a federal prosecutor. I did predominantly civil rights prosecution so pretty attuned to a questions of police force and excessive force. But you can lose control of your streets and we're not targeting any any race. We we embrace anyone who comes to our city. We're targeting conduct and the conduct were targeting. I don't think anybody can disagree. Is not something that a city. A lot of to go on because it endangers not simply beliefs than dangerous a bystanders. In endanger guests endangers residents. And we just really have no choice.

"All right I have another story here. That i think brings up another question kind of christians. Did we got news this week. That baldur's gate. Three which has in early access for while i pre purchased the game to get early access because larry in has never steered me wrong. I love dungeons and dragons love Divinity original sins one two. It was a home run as much of a home as you can possibly get and i have been loving the first act to which is what they have released so far. Well they're now Releasing the next patch it's tentatively titled patch three which is the first update. That's actually going to bring changes to the game story. But there's a catch and the catch is saved games from the previous releases of this. Early access title will not be compatible with the new patch. So you have to start fresh start over. Which is kind of a bummer. I know there's a lot of people that have put dozens and dozens of hours into the game already and indications are that this will not be the last patch to do that that the they've learned considers this to be part of the early access process that as they released more content into the game. It will make your game incompatible. So i think real quick i think they also said when this launch and early access the whenever the final version comes out your safe also does not carry over into that. Is that crazy but even periodically. It's going to be now. There's ways that they have. They've outlined ways to work around to that you can select in steam old versions of the game so you don't actually auto update into the new version and still player old game so they're actually publicizing ways for players. If you don't wanna lose your saving you want to keep playing the old you can but at some point if you want more content. You're going to have to lose your safe so cliff. I want to know. I mean obviously this kind of stings. None of a cool opportunity to start a new character or something people can look at it on the bright side glass half full version of that but ultimately i wonder what you think of this as a concept even more than the specifics of baldur's gate three in that the idea of buying into an early access game that as you're going through the process will eliminate all of the progress that you've made as part of the development process as a whole. Do you think that kind of ruins the early access idea or is that just all part of the early access idea. oh man. I'm of two minds on that because it is kind of like what you are getting when you sign up for early access but i think one of the parts of early access that i think about it you're trying to instill confidence in your final product and i feel like doing. This makes me super wary of what you're going to give me when it comes time for the final game to come out in a way that i'm just like ooh i may just not dig into 'cause my thing is like when you do when you have games like this especially lots of time goes into building your character in if you are role playing your character in different ways. Yeah you absolutely get attached to what you did and how you did it in the relationships you've built within that world It makes it way harder for me to be excited about the potential in especially because baldur's gate has been very very good really fun as as as a person who does not play those games often getting a chance to play some of it and and really loving. I've been playing or had been playing. It makes me a little bit weary to see that. Be the case knowing that they're kind of working out the kinks in that way but again it's early access. Which makes it hard. Because i'm like. Well that's what i'm supposed to be doing. Kinda the guinea pig anyway. Yeah ooh that's rough though. I would hate to go through all that work to try to do all that stuff and then like nope back that passed. The crisis killed my save duda. I'll go farther than you i. It makes me not want to play that game anymore until it's fully released. It makes you go i. I don't. I can't do that to myself. I i am really allergic to losing progress and redoing things. I mean i know in a lot of ways that some of the joy of these larry in games or these big sprawling role playing games in general not even just Versions of them. You know by aware and all these other company says and all these companies that do these big strong role play games. Part of the fun is making different choices and exploring the having different classes in playing different types of characters and so there some joy to that. And i know a lot of people love playing these games multiple times in making wildly different characters and all that stuff but for me the idea of re going through content that i already did. It's because the way i play. These types of games is that i am so thorough. Or at least i try to be writing my try to search every nook and cranny and go down every path that i possibly can with the character. I've chosen. Because i love exploring the world. And and seeing as much as i can the idea of just doing that all again simply to get to the new stuff young boy. I'd just as crushing to me. I'm a christian. How how do you feel about something like this..

"Were you in early access person of divinity original sin as why was yeah. I'd love to hear that 'cause like divinity original sin was like. Gay. Missing the license wink and now they have the license is this. Is it divinity original. Or is it bothers game. Really like. Feels like Dante feels like this, this this hybrid of divinity and I mean, it really is d like, for example, if you get into a situation where you would need a role for something. A Big d twenty icon comes up on the screen and you click it and it rolls and it tells you the d. c. that you need to hit to to win the the role, and you watched the die roll with a little and it comes up and you see if you did it or not I mean that never happened in divinity right? It was all behind the scenes I'm sure there were you know random number that. Were compared but it was behind the scenes and there are a number of roles that happened behind the scenes in this game too. But it's fun because if you WANNA do like a persuasion check on someone in dialogue sequence or intimidation Shekar, you know all these things that are very dungeons and dragons you get a cool d twenty that comes up on the screen and you actually roll it and you see it now it is weird though because. I did a check where I was supposed to have a plus four modifier. It doesn't show you the modifier I'm hoping that through the early access process they will. Show you what your modifier in the math that that. Led Up to the role because I had one where was like? It was a It was a a C. six no, it was a DC six and I had plus four on the role. I. Had plus from Charisma and plus two from my like intimidation proficiency modifier and. I rolled four, which I shouldn't have been able to do like I should the minimum I should been able to roll has five, but it told me a role four. So it was like that can't be right or maybe it didn't. In the modifiers don't know but it would be nice to see the math I think that would be satisfying to see the math and not just give you a number just gives you a number on the on the face of the die without showing your modifiers. That's super nerdy in. You know inside baseball but I do I. do hope they changed that but it's really satisfying. It makes it feel like Dean it. So much of the game feels like dnd now, another thing. That separates it from dnd, is that there's a there's a sequence right at the beginning by the way I should say. The game starts with a bang. It is so cool doing huge. Cool stuff. tentacled spaceship thing that's run by mind flavors and you're it's crazy crazies bonkers. It's really cool the divinity original sin to started with you're on a ship and you crash land on an island are on a on the shore of of land. and. They do that here as well and I kind of feel like it's a nod to that but they do it with a spaceship and its way crazier. It feels like they kind of did a nod to how their game started. there's a sequence of the very beginning where you're on the ship and you want to get to the controls and you have to fight through these demons to get to this. The the controls will I have a warlock and one of the warlocks first-level spells or I think it might be even a can trip is made hand, which is basically a disembodied ghost hand that you manipulate things from a distance. So it's like Oh. Cool. I don't even have to get to the controls I'll just use major hand. Well. No. The game doesn't let you do that. You have to get to the controls to trigger cuts into thing and I was like. Walking I get the your video game and that's awesome. But like if I was playing de I'd say that's an idea and DM. Would make that happen. You know because there's no reason why the made hand couldn't do the thing that you showed me my dude is doing in the cat seen. So don't give me made hand and not let me do that. So. So you know it's still not dnd but man, there's so much to like about it. It's gorgeous. All affects look really cool. All the magic in the game looks really powerful effective the the. The Dungeons and dragons of the combat is very, very cool and fun I I'm in love with it and I know it's early access, but it's this game is so my jam on. So many levels adjust I just adore Baldur's gate three so far despite its you know rough around the edges not finished state. Do you think you'll finish this first chapter or kind of you've played it? You gotTA taste you're GONNA wait for. So I mean, they said what it might be a year still before I know that. You play. Now, I've been playing a bunch I played the whole first act of divinity original into in early access and got to the end where you can't go past it and waited, and then it was cool like picking up the second act? But I don't know I don't know if I want to play the whole game as one experience I. Don't know I'm digging it. Now there's some stuff coming out I may not play all twenty hours but I've played found a five hour so far and I. It's just it's so good and I as I said a few weeks ago I was feeling the each to go back to your original sin to which is still installed on my hard drive and I'm like well, I've got this like it's it's it's it's so good. So good. Anyway that is Baldur's gate three and it is an early access..

"Anyway moving on from there. Let's or anybody have anything that discussion. We all agree though right like those games need yeah like they. They mentioned Escape from Kharkov. I think that also doesn't have like a a practice where you can just get some basic practice with different guns and it does have a true all remember titanfall to had the guys in humans as well or whatever. I believe. That's got a OH. They said offline mode. That's true. There is an offline mode in that I think nobody plays it. I guess or something. I don't know I never hear anybody talk about that. Okay Okay Yeah. Yeah for sure What else do we got here any any other. I didn't WanNA bring up a question because you said in this game you had an issue with the trigger being the right and I've had that in many games where for some reason. Critical action is assigned to a button that super uncomfortable for me and so many times. That game doesn't have any ability to change the buttons. Yeah like sometimes they give you some basic like two control schemes which is just like changing one thing but you know with how much options we have for keyboard typically everything the controller even on games the controller seems to be like in the In Caveman Times where you know there's just no ability to customize maybe the elite controller. I think has that but I haven't had an elite controller so I don't know it just feels to me like you should be able to re bind any buttons on the on the Controller in Games. Yeah I mean Dude. I'm telling you. It's pretty rough. That's pretty Ri- they need on anything that's like instant like that is just worked for me when it's when it's the trigger and Like especially when you have bumper buttons it could have been those could have been. I couldn't get it to remind maybe it does or maybe that was the Alpha. You know it is. This is an Alpha so but Yeah it needs the usually most games need to have rebinding of some kind Let's see what else we got? You Guys WanNa do Baldur's gate or do we have any first of all. Do we have anything else? That's big Gee I now losing a bunch of games yes. So what did G. Force now lose? They lost activision and Bethesda. Right correct which was super weird to me. I have a question. Does it become less weird if the rumor is is that Microsoft has their own competing format. They're going to announce and that made me not weird as Like as a base concept because we see that we regular TV streaming services as well like Disney. Something for me. At least the feeling was the g. I now the whole concept behind this was bring your own games. He already purchased and played a monarchic out computers and Donald. They're still removing moving games. Yeah that's the part for me. Yeah I agree completely. And they even said later with activision at first they said that was just a mistake on our part. I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT BETHESDA. But g four said that or in video so it makes me wonder what the mistake was like well as Gathered was that they claimed. At least their mistake was that they felt they had an ongoing ongoing license with them to continue delivering their games. When it was apparently only for the Beta test period not for launch. I mean what? Why would you allow it for the Beta like? That's a bait and switch like to me. It's even worse. That's even worse. If activision is like yeah you can use for the Beta. But we're not going full so the moment you go full were dropping. You're just like then. What the fuck so to me. As we always say both ways they either new and then it's even worse or they didn't know in their incompetent right because I mean don't you guys think if you were working at company people be like we're going live. Should we check anything? Wouldn't somebody be like Whoa have verified? All these Games are GONNA be acceptable. I mean like you. Joe Who's like delivering coffee getting the fucking donuts. Maybe making a bulletin sentiment in their coffee is like hey guys. Have you verify that these companies actually? Oh yeah should verify your library or lack of it thanks stadia. I Dunno seem stupid to me. But whatever they they fucked we'll see if Microsoft does roll out the stuff that's rumored They've hinted around about PC game streaming. I'm sure it'll probably just be windows. Ten Games you know you can stream your windows ten games if you buy in the store right that comes out but yet G. Four screwed it up guys screwed it up. Started started asking people to pay and all that shit and then they're like. Oh yeah forgot to. Major categories of games are available. Do you guys use Moonbeam or moon glow or rainbow beam. That is called Moon. Moonshadow something something like that training. Have you used that rich dive USA than in the past Adler Fine Moonlight Moonlight? Yeah that'll that's works as good as like a professional product you mean dime in. Moonlight is for a local streaming local streaming actor so one of the better ones floor latency. Okay cool cocoa. Let's see everything needs to time to bake this year. Yeah that's true right. That is true. Everything does need to bake. Does that mean that activision might stop people using Nvidia? Gps from playing their games. No no no no no no no no no well. That would be amazing. What would happen other than a giant nuke going off at everybody's house if they were just like. Hey Yeah you have invidia. Gpa. You can't play games and that'd be amazing no no by the NVIDIA fx. Let's go out man that would be that'd be. That'd be hilarious. If you guys have any questions for the podcast feel free to throw them here in the in the PODCAST STREAM. Thanks to everybody. We've got a big group of people watching. I appreciate it if you're from Youtube and this your first time this is Johnny and read. You can always follow them. The better with friends stuff you guys will see some more stuff from US also coming up on this twitch channel As I put things together I've been behind because of all these Games And we'll talk about that now Baldur's gate three. Did you guys watch the the livestream? What did you think feel free? Whoever wants to go first somebody go Michael? Go along this scene. I watched your video on it. I haven't seen other content on it And all throughout. I had the same thing that you eventually said which was in my looking at Baldur's gate three or divinity original sin three which is not a problem because I loved the original sin three but it was really spot on like my feeling of like Howard. They're gonNA make this feel any different right they need. They need to have something there that makes it feel Baldur's Gate e Yeah I turned it into an objective right deal but and I don't know what it is like looking at that footage. I didn't quite get it. I don't know if maybe some way. The skills work or maybe some of the interaction with the environment that you mentioned my might be different or maybe some of the character or world building that that can be right so I if if you've felt anything like that that gave it that different identity or what was going on and then I'll I'll discuss what you think. Ridge I like to look. It definitely looks rough. Still in places especially the animations by them in its early days And the Patriots. Yeah it looks like your regional. Sin Three to me at least with more dialogue options from other. I've seen in the video like there's sometimes there was like such a list to choose from. Yeah but visually. It reminds me a lot of original sin so I am not sure. Outdid could differentiate themselves. Did you play Baldur's gate the originals. Yes and did you play? Baldur's Gate Johnny the originals. No actually sorry Minnesota. You're eating Yeah I was just none of this munching on the sneakers. Yeah no I haven't played myself. I have seen played like many times on streams and stuff but so with Baldur's I agree and I brought up my. That'll be their biggest challenge. I don't think it's a challenge. They won't hit though. And the reason why is because I played Sky Room even though I played Mara Wind and I played oblivion even though I had played Mara wind and I enjoyed them. I played never winter nights even though I had played. Never Herb fucking Baldur's gate. I played icewind Dale. Even though I play Baldur's Gate I played torment even though I play Baldur's gate torment look like Baldur's gate. It did sorry is art style was different but it was still using a lot of the same overall feet you know like interface style and feelings and stuff like that so to me worldview lore characters rule set are all different. That's enough for me. I do believe That divinity original sin is cleaner looking game because the two D art of the original Baldur's Gate Games looks a certain way to pixellated mess. It looked awesome back in the day but I mean it is. It's a pixellated like they've even had a president and stuff so it's like to me. It's hard you look at that two D. and you're like what's it GonNa look like Three D. we'll guess what it's GonNa look like divinity. That's the engine. They're using. I think they could do a color Palette. You guys have seen like grab biggest thing is to call up. At least we are. Remember all the skates it's more than a guest press if oh okay. Interesting so really. So I thought of Baldur's gate has golden. But that's probably because Baldur's gate is gold the phones and everything but I get you. Yes a filter right. I think we all agree. That like fallout has urine filter That would be the progression for me to original vulgar scale right again. I do like to stronger colors more. Happy Callers really sure. Okay true I get you. Yeah I just think Lawrence and stuff like that will change it. It's a different rule set right. It's different lawrence a different battle systems real time all the time or I mean. Sorry a turn based during combat. You can't get out of the turn based part which I get the dislike. You know what though it's a different game so to me? If it works it works. Necessarily this way the place I will say. So just so. Everybody knows You saw the preview content if you didn't go to youtube and check it out They asked me to come down We did end up footing the bill for that because I don't do paid stuff. But instead of flying we drove which was a disaster beyond all belief fucking. I felt so bad for Cadiz. Because I'm like. Hey man come with me could use is like okay. He's fucking game for anything and that got sick on the way down some for some reason and so we didn't talk for like eight hours. We just sat in the car I was. I felt so bad but I was just I was GonNa Puke if I talked. I don't know what was going on. I just felt sick. We go down there They had a setup Little Bar got to meet a couple of people get to meet Alana Pierce From she does are on Youtube Channel but she's from rooster teeth..

"Maybe Tokyo game show at that was. That's where I played a second demo. The Moi played was the Claire Demo. The second demo I played at t was the Leon Demo so or maybe it was reversed. No I think that's right but I got to play a little bit of each one. A New I think I played the Leeann Demo. I played the cleared. Mo. Yeah but I got to play both and they did have not jazz and I felt like there was ample time to see it and kind of look at it and it doesn't feel like it's it's been there but I'm trying to think of where this game has been or where people have played it so far and I I can't yeah that'd be. That was just announced a couple of months ago and there hasn't really been anything since then so. I'm sure you know this is the first hands on that I've seen So yeah it's it's it's weird timing but my hope is that because people did like resident evil two so much that they are interested in resin evil and then the last thing I would say is. I was freaked out by resident evil two. I'm someone who's very like numb to the series but it was the atmospheric stuff that really got me but this game I never quite besides like if you jump scares. I never felt completely freaked out. And maybe that's because I was in a room with a whole bunch of people but I think it's because everything is Kinda within you can see what's going on around you thus the action it wasn't so much creeping down the hallway and like hearing noises this much more okay so there's Zombie over there. There's a lot of fire going on over here. There's things clinging behind you and so I guess it depends on what kind of horror you can deal with. Better THAN OTHER. Other or interest dean. Yeah and before I talk about resident evil resistance. I would love to hear about this other thing that you're talking about that you're playing this mobile game. No no no. We're on the naval train right now. Are you a break to talk about a completely different game? Then go back to resident evil okay. You love that you're like I've been talking for a long time about video kane. I have an idea that on this show girl. This is your time to shine about resident evil resistant. So originally resistance was not part of our E. three and row capcom saying well. We're doing this remake. Take this mode. That was a stand alone game right. Yeah essentially vaguely it into the remake. Right the ASO. The thumbnails for resistance leaked online. Everyone thought maybe it was in new Was it mercenaries IRV as an evil. What's that online mode? I can't remember sorry friends. Eh. Hubert Elsie resident evil resistance and then during the Ra three reveal. It was like yeah. This is actually the free to not free to play. It's the multiplayer version that goes along with resin evil three so yes it's capcom take on an asymmetrical multi-player survival horror experience set in raccoon city. This is not anything Canon because it just doesn't make sense because a lot of the masterminds in this game are long dead plug into that second so it plays is one v four. You have four survivors. One mastermind and the idea is that the survivors are these youths that have been captured by umbrella to perform experiments on. Because that's what umbrella does if you went to the orphanage in TV played resident evil. Two they were doing some really shady stuff. They're really shady stuff. Yeah no I remember. The orphanage that was terrifying very very bad very scary. Umbrellas an awful terrible company and they suck it so the mastermind masterminds reason also for capturing these youths is to run experience so they can gather research date on how these how these characters respond to fear because that way because the whole idea's umbrella wants to make bio weapons for military purposes and Blah Blah Blah. The governments in on it is a whole fucked up thing so like this actually makes sense even though what they're doing not cannon so. The mastermind observes the survivors through security cameras and then as the mastermind you can place enemies and obstacles survivors way. So how this works. You have four survivors in to win. You have to complete three maps. The in every map you have three objectives so the first part of the map you have to find three. Things could be puzzle pieces. Those could be trophies. They could be statue pieces. And once you find all three things you can then proceed to the next level the second one you have to activate three things which means you have to find the Zombie security guard within the map. Get his security keycard than activate three terminals and then the final part of the h the final part of each gameplay session if you make it this far is yet to shoot three things when that is their baby. Six to seven pillars on this map and only one of them is active at a time. And you got to cover them to figure out which one is active that you can shoot so now that I've laid that down. You have a map that has maybe like there's there's several different maps and there's some can't talk about plate save. I won't talk about any of them in specifics. Has Maybe like Florida? Five different rooms and you start an entrance point and then you in the four survivors. You got to stick together not going to be a good time. You had to explore every room and try to find these pieces immigrant. You can split off from one another but it's just best not to you and you win by escaping by find what you need him proceeding you lose by running out of time so this whole game all based off of time so if you let's say get if you get hit by Zombie bit by Zombie blown up by mind. You lose a certain amount of time off the top of the clock. If a character dies you can revive them but if they don't if they can't get revived and they die then you lose even more time in the neighbor respond so it's basically you've against the clock and you can't suck by losing time if you do that. That's it's kind of like some Brittany. Don't suck okay everybody. I feel like this is like real talk advice. I can give everyone. Don't suck in a multiplayer game. Yeah I mean I think the idea is do your best and don't drag your team down right. I mean unless you're even if you're playing solo right you still don't want to because then you. That's very true. That's very bad thing. So that's that's the whole point of the survivors now the mastermind. So let me go back. The survivors have all their own different skills. So some people specialize in damage reduction. Some can heal some can hack the masterminds items that they have and right now there are pulling up the resident evil website because they have all of the Info for me like the Nice People. They are so right now. There are one two three four five six different characters including one. Martin Sandwich which is amazing and each character like I said how their own special abilities and their own perks soave example. I was playing the tank. Because of course that's what I do and that is tyrone and I feel. I think it was him. He has the special ability. Where if I were to hit the buttons he buffs. Everyone's defense for like thirty seconds so this is really important. If you're feeling overwhelmed and you have everything come after you use that and then everyone has a better chance of survival. Valerie can hack and she can heal. Which is really nice so if there is a camera with a turret attached to it she can hack into disable it which is awesome. So you got the mastermind. Now these are famous or famous iconic resident evil villains. Like in the Birkin. Alex AUSE WILL. Spencer and the mastermind has a much different view than the survivors. So that survivors. Is there person like you're in a level? The mastermind is more of a top down map layout and each character. Each survivor is represented by a little triangle. That's moving throughout and you can see him and you move from room to room via the security cameras so you can kind of see like what's going on in each room and your goal like I said is to basically fuck these people up so they lose so much time that they all like die in. What will you win so how you do that? Is You have four cards in front of you at a time and each card has a specific amount of points that you need to spend. In order to activate it and on the left you have points constantly accruing and I think the maximum points you can have at a time as ten following me. So far I'm going to be honest and say that I have most of what you've been talking about. How but there may have been a moment there where I was like daydreaming. It's Okay I've wandered offer. Second being like wait. What's that thing over there? Where should I put another line? Okay no focus. I love you thank you know. This is the mode that I think I would probably have the most fun with because I like an asynchronous multiplayer interested so I apologize. It's okay girl I got. You haven't talk in a lie. I have my voice is going in packs has even started yet. It's he drinks tea tonight. So you're talking about points accrue. Yes and how. There's a ten point limit. I think it's a ten point limit. So you have four cards in front of you. At a time. It might be a trip mine. It might be an explosive. It might be Zombie. Might be another kind of Zombie. It's a random shuffled in order to get new cards into the deck. You gotTA use a car that you already have in your hand and you have said on the left and then you have your special ability also occurring slowly over time as well. So would you say that? There's an element to deck building in this or NO NO IRAN RANDOM ABILITY. That just happened to be in the form of cards like it has nothing to do with like strategizing deck. I don't believe so because I only got to play mastermind once. I don't think you can reshuffle a cart. I think you have to use one of the four. That's in your hand thing that's how it works so so yes so you're when you're the mastermind and you're looking at your map you can see where the players were. The survivors have to go in order to accomplish their missions. So what I did for example. I played the mastermind. I knew everyone had to eventually come into this one room. Because that's where one of a card readers were that they need to activate so I put down like four minds. I put down. Some zombies. Put Down Spencer special. Which is the disintegration field? And everyone thought they were doing all good and they walked into that room and I just fucked them all up and they all collapse into a heap of death and I won a granted. It was everyone's I like first or second plane resistance so I think I kind of took advantage of that because I don't think that's going to be a should. That's not your problem. Only that's what I'm saying. I think once because once we started playing that was the only time a mastermind me that had that didn't work for Capcom successfully fucked everyone up every other time we as the survivors were able to finish all three levels..

"And the apple store and download the anchor at least be a voice and have a chat with meade like that. Yes so as I said this is a hot take on. Baldur's gate being a divinity original fan from Larry and studios when they announced they were doing boulders gate three on new the series in good hands and I have to say I'm not disappointed. I don't know a lot about the Baldur's gate series. I've not really sat down and play table. Top Day indeed always been a fan of that kind of genre and I have to say even from a new perspective. This looks very new player friendly. I believe they did say that. It doesn't take anything from the previous two gates whether they'll have some Easter eggs from those. It's pretty much. The sounds of a bit of a standalone series. That kind of thing we saw I believe on pc not stadia version even know. It was announced on Stadiums. Twitter that they you know they were going to be doing. This is coming to stadium and I think it's a great thing. Let me say this. I'm sitting here looking at my tech and what I've got here consul wise and everything that I have got and I have to say. Actually I've got places you for pro. It doesn't get used. It doesn't get used much and looking for I'm looking forward. I am looking to get shot. Get Myself Stadia and get signed up on that bandwagon as quickly as possible but anyway but anyway these Kinda Games show why we should be investing in the stadium platform. So as I said Larry and studios is the one heading up this one. They've done the vinnie ritual sin and sin to and if you've got switched into is probably one of the best tactical. Rpg's you can find anywhere. So what is Baldur's gate? Three Baldur's gate three as an upcoming role playing video game developed as a set by Larry and studios. And it's four as I said the. Pc and stadium is the third game in the Baldur's gate series and it's based off the fifth edition of the Dungeons and dragons tabletop series. So some of you out there listening. We'll know exactly what that means. Game play in voters game is. It's going to be obviously roleplaying. It's single player. But we think they'll be cooperative multiplayer elements and if anything like Vinnie. Original sin is to go buy. They'll be hopefully split-screen and the ability to play online. It's using the license from Dean as the physician and it looks absolutely bloody stunning. They really showed off. What's this game is going to look like? Even though this pre Alpha and there were some bugs we had a crash brought the end of the stream and things like that and there were like. I said some bugs that they had there was a point where he eats made a vampire character. And there was a glitch within one of the cut scenes where we didn't see some dialogue or something so that was some problems which was nice to see. And let me say this e three. If you're watching this presentation you can learn a lot from this. This is how presentation should be done. A Guy who generally loves the game who stood up there and just wants to give us the lowdown of the product. They're making. I think this is an absolute amazing way of doing it. The the guy from a cutting the guy from Larrain student his name is an I feel really bad was up there and he just genuinely oozed love and care and wanted to show as much as possible even showed so much that he actually forgot to Q. And I and they did like three or four questions from Cuba which which was headed areas generally feel like the whole presentation itself was great. So I mentioned in the intro. There was somebody funky things so I think some of my favorite moments of the stream was the fact that hey literally picked up and threw it at one of the enemies and it. I mean it was death by it was the most hilarious thing at at Saint in a game which means hopefully that freedom and the ability of using your own helmet. Use this to throw kiss Kale. Can I use this to distract your freedom of imagination? Looks like it's not going to be locked down hampered by what the game is which I think is incredible and goes into that Dean D. thoughts are no most of the people that I know played the dainty gains have a really wonderful imagination of how they want their characters to act and those kind of things does roles are thing. We did see the dice. Roll a couple of times. He filed one and pass one and eight. Did mention that. You could have this moment of of upgrading your dice to give you a better dice rolls and the guy will now. It's fen phen Vinke spend vinke. I sound like I'm saying winky. I'm not Vinko. Think odd COMP Fan. I'm just GONNA call him spin as and if you don't know Laron Studios Belgium Gaming Studio honestly. I'm I'm quite excited. I am all over the place with this. I've literally just need to get this out my system because I think it's GonNa be great so Y- By Boo is the thing He was showing off the character. Customization looks huge. If you played the Original sin to is probably the best one can go by that so much. There's so much and I'm going to spend probably six hundred seventy two thousand years incorrect customization and never play this game. I have rewrote character into didn't Vicini divinity regional in two more times now than I have played. It's to`real it's crazy on finally going to settle a one way you know there's something coming for the vinnie original sin to Pifer so let me change the pace a little bit and Karna get my breath back because all over the place if if you ask me. There is a Alcohol from Pc Gamer Baldur's gate. Three Leagues Screen shot shows of turn based combat and close up Logan. They I'm gonNA use this because Yeah my Brian is going to look like so. There's a picture of what looks to be like a devil stall character and it's got some dialogue options. Looks very cool. I and I remember these options. There are multiple again going by what they hadn't avent original sin so the of options. You could have these tags which allows you to make these different All options to how your character with play and again that? Do Ethos. It's GONNA be here. It does sound. Like Wizards was has big. Say in what's going on in the dungeons and dragons stuff. I want to say was I might have gotten that right. It was the coast because there was one mention of The assistant alignment system. That's it a Lotta Times alignment system within this game and asked him to tone it down so it looks like they've got wizards have got a big hand in how this game is developed. Which I think he's a strong good strong good point. Good strong point even that makes hopefully makes the experience as close as possible to the table. Top as as they can you know dos to. And that's how I'm going to refer to Original sin to from now on tries. Its hardest to do that because of systems like the game master mode. And how does two plays? But I suppose we've bought as gay and it using the Dean D. License. They want to make these as close as physically possible to Dean Day. Which is what we want and more that screen shots here. This is great you have you have a bar. It has all of your spells and different casting abilities. They were talking about Spell Costing Junction. Times is a long rest. And I don't quite understand from Dean Day because as I said I replayed it. I'm just looking forward to Baldur's gate so yes it's going to be. Hopefully everything at dignity fan wants. And even if you're a casual you like the look of Dane Day but never had the chance of getting involved. It could even be great for that aspect of it well graphically. I think I've already mentioned mentioned again. Eight looks bloody gorgeous. It really does. I think it's using the defendant original sin to engine but I may be wrong because I think it's using the seventy four point. Oh Baldur's gate engine as opposed on Steam. The steam Blurb if you like Talks about it but it sounds like he is using the Vinnie. Full point zero engine. I'm not sure what does to us but unsure which one does to us in it's GonNa be something similar. Probably an upgrade from dos to will be what we get for Baldur's Gate. I was hoping it was using the original dividend to engine. 'cause that means we could get on switch but I don't know this game looks a lot more graphically intense than what does to did butts so as I said gruffly looks gray. Combat Look Sway. It's a turn based loves dream. It really is. I don't have much more to say until next week. Essentially I just wanted to get my my words out there because I am really excited has a lot going for it. We saw a lot in this two hour demo Pretty nearly two hours and I want to see what can come of it. It's essentially going to be a good game. I think Larry in one of the one of the few studios left that care about the games that that making and you can see the love. And the craftsmanship in this game just by House Fan was reacting onstage. He was laughing when he was making mistakes that the game was throwing at him. He was just enjoying what was being done. And I genuinely fail the the love and the enthusiasm he has is impacting in the how great the development of this game is is saying so stay stay. Clinton keep close to skip frames over the coming weeks. We are going to be doing more. Talk of Baldur's Gate we're GONNA be getting on the Baldur's gate hub train hard and I can't wait for it to drop. I've also got something special planned for the vinnie original into which I'll explain more on the next episode of Skip frames and yet that's pretty much. Yeah I just wanted to get some words out. "And at this time spend said Hey. What do you guys want to do? And then also talked about twitch interaction which is where the actual characters and their choices can also be given over to twitch watchers if you're streaming the game and they can Decide how things go and basically we all chose evil. There's a reason why he said he was gonNA kill this character anyway. Even if we didn't for a reason in the game you get a characters ring the basically allows you to talk to the dead. You can actually do that on all the characters you kill and sometimes get information from them so this character is dead and we actually are talking to the recently dead and getting information one of the cool things fen said was while that works you can only talk to them and only get information up to the point that they died so he can't get anything after that but you can find out data about you know where they're from about their tribes which is what he's doing here. I wasn't able to ask. Then if you are able to use this on characters like the skeletons that we took the items from and then when they resurrected they had no weapons. I didn't get a chance to find out if you can use it on everything. I think it's more along the lines of somebody that you've recently killed so if there's a character there maybe you'll be able to do it. If their plot character. Maybe you can do it to everybody. But that question wasn't asked and it wasn't answered in. This was one of those situations where you were just watching him play. We weren't really thrown out bunch of questions so as I finish this up. I just want to say thanks once again to them for allowing me to come down and visit. Thanks to you guys for watching this. There was a lot of different questions that I had Some answered some not just due to how busy it was. I think when you look at this one of the things I discussed is we'll be sorta difficult for them to nail down that feeling of Baldur's gate because there's almost a golden hued almost a cell shaded not cel shaded but cartoonish coloring and overall fantasy feel to the original Baldur's Gate Games where there's almost a dry more realistic in clinical color scheme that we see in not only the divinity original Sin Games. But we see here in this footage almost like if you've seen a fallout game in the filter that they use. There's no filter here. There's fantasy filter which is fine. There's no issue there but I do feel that those two things combined the camera change in that will cause some people to sort of take a little bit of adjusting to sort of jump into it and be like this is Baldur's gate. It won't take very long and I think when we see those initial cut scenes and we see the original stories for some of these characters and all of that. It'll probably have no issue sort of pulling us in but I definitely noticed when I was watching it that that was popping up and that was something that had sort of had sort of become an issue as I was watching it when looking at my notes here. There is some various things that I had when it comes to the checks and the way the dice work. This is all stuff that we would normally expect. You have different checks for everything from charisma to talk your way. Pass something to you. Know picking the lock. Those kind of things different characters of course can do different things that others can't so somebody may have a higher lock pick skill. Those are all stuff we all remember from. Baldur's gate and pretty much any fantasy game to me. What I saw was really ahead of where I expected it to be. This is something where we see all these games all these times and this is no disrespect to developers because they all develop in different ways. But we see these Games a lot of times come and and you sort of can tell that. They're not ready for primetime. This game had a couple of bucks a couple issues but I was actually really surprised again and said this twice or two or three times in this video I was really surprised where it was For what we got. I think that that's a benefit to everybody. And certainly is in some way. Kudo to these guys in their engine in their ability to move things forward in this engine. We do see some new abilities and and things that I think a lot of us didn't expect and there were some stuff hidden. You know that we're not gonNA get a chance to see when it comes to something this early again in the fall early access for this. It was fun to go to. You know I'm going to cover more of these previews when I get a chance You know make sure you subscribe to channels see those and will continue to be talking about this on the podcast. Also we're going to be covering a couple of games of one from FOCUS. Home exclusive on the podcast ten thirty. Am Pacific Standard Time on AC on twitch this Friday so if you come bye we'll be covering this Albeit ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS. I can answer about this. I'll try to do that in the comments section as well but probably won't get a chance so if you want those questions answered feel free to come to the twits channel and and ask those if you have any questions about this but I think music wise and lower wise and and just the way it felt. They've come a long way. There's some stuff there but you know if there's a company out there that I would say man. I'm really glad they got it. It is learning studios. They just it feels right right right right. Yeah exactly That's it for me. I think that's it for me anyway. I would love you guys to if you get a chance. "And there you go. I think it's about time to talk about jump is it Oh p or is it overpowered? That was a question that was actually asked. It looked a little bit that way in the game. You're going to see some more footage of this particular ability which allows for characters to leap and explore in the game. One of the things that is the game is filled with secrets because exploring is actually going to be very rewarding for the game player that means going into locations. Won't just be scouring around. On one plane of the horizontal. There was a lot of verticality. And we see that in the game a lot of having the high ground as they say in Star Wars however I will say that when I was watching the overall to jump there were some elements that were OPEC. There was also some elements that ended up hurting him many times. If the jump was too far up or down. So there's GonNa be a little bit of that risk reward. It didn't seem to be perfectly balanced but this is way ahead of. Its time here. What I did see looked impressive. An interesting four games and battles and how you could do those. Depending on which character was able to jump there was also a great deal of environmental shortcuts. That you're gonNA see later in the footage and I'll make sure to point that out so here we come upon the camp now. The camp is going to attract followers. It's going to attract companions. It'll be able to grow bigger but they didn't actually show that you go into the campaign basically rest in here you can have various different conversations with the other. Npc's who were there with you. One missed opportunity here or something that they weren't allowed to do. We didn't get to see a lot of the other origin stories. And this cam situation because this does come up you are vampire so there is some discussion of what you exactly do at Camp. When everybody else is asleep and that sort of does pop up here would have liked to have seen a couple of those Other origin stories pop up. I think you see one more later. In the footage I did notice at least they to purposely be showing US various different. Npc's at this part of the of the game and I've always wondered you know. Will we see the recreation of some special character? That was really I think. A hallmark of the Baldur's Gate Games a little less. So maybe some of the other games that came out later like ice when Dale which was a little bit more combat focused. But I didn't see anybody here. That was really grabby or over the top however I did see what I consider to be a good level a good mid and high tier level voice acting and character acting that we got all the NBC's that we're going to see if felt very solid very professional and that means if anybody does end up jumping off the screen at least to me. I feel we're GONNA see a huge increase in. Just how a motive that feels because everybody really nailed it and this early. I was surprised to see those voice actors and actresses really already have a vested feeling for every single character. And we're going to see one of those characters now as this guy goes off to sleep.
The Rise of Portuguese Gastronomy in Britain
"Opening of the Hawaiian Bar Restaurant Bar Dole rowing London. Three years ago was a milestone for Portuguese greasy and in the British capital both critics and the public loves to the place and also Monaco showed its approval by including Doro in our fifty best restaurants list now. The success story continues us the founder Max Graham and his team prepared to open their second and location. This timing London cece waterbed as I'm then to look back at the past three years to talk about the new location and the revival of Portuguese. Food Food in Brayson Max. Graham joins me here Madari House Studio One Abbey early. I actually opened a pop restaurant back in two thousand fourteen in in Greek street. I was walking my family business. which is Churchill's put company that makes wine imports in the valley? So the d'oro has always been very much in my blood in my upbringing childhoods but really walking for Churchill's when I opened the pool house which was really focused. It was more of a marketing stunt than anything else that was a pup restaurants pop up wind pool bar and we showcase folio of wines and ports in some very very simple produce driven sharing boards and yet during that period. I think I started eating out in London particularly in the Soho area and I just realized that Portuguese foods was very badly represented. I mean a lots of Portuguese restaurants in Stockwell and I absolutely love those restaurants but there are different Soda Portuguese restaurant and you know I was really at the time. I'm loving bar. Fina unloving Morita on these concepts. That were really showcasing. Spanish cuisine in such a contemporary outwards. Outwards way I'm really engaging with Londoners. I'm getting them excited about gastronomy from abroad and I just felt. Portugal wasn't doing that in in London at the time. So you decided to fix that. Yeah I mean I. I started the process of putting together. Ideas Footballer on that culminated in the the opening in two thousand sixteen in between then others opened up some Portuguese restaurants. Nunu Open Tabatha and you know a few years ago. It was great that was about three three of US laundry. No Tobacco really pushing Portuguese food and of course like I said. There's lots of restaurants in stockwell London that really lead. You backed Portugal Assad way which is a sort of nostalgic way. I think it's interesting that you mentioned that before. You launched Bhadra you. You felt that Portuguese food wasn't particularly well represented in London for example. What do you think that was? I don't know maybe London wasn't ready when I was much younger. That was a restaurant on the Kings road called Tuba. It was a Portuguese restaurant. And you know they were showcasing Portuguese food and I don't think think it just didn't engage with London's at the time you know this was about fifteen years ago and I just think potentially Londoners the appetites it's for new experiences. New Cuisines has just snowballed and London just hungry for new concepts particularly when they're showcasing acing cuisines that are less represented. I think that comes in tandem with the fact that Portugal has just been having such a surge in tourism such exposure over the last five years. I mean Portugal. Now the past five years it's just a completely different country. I mean when I grew up importer. It's just so far away from what it is. Today I think in Portugal there is such a wealth of culinary Marie on wine tradition. And I think that these experiences already being heightened and I just think London it is now more than ever probably quite excited to engage with Puccio before we talk about your second restaurants. You're about to launch. Let's still talk about well. Well the first module has been like how strong of a vision. Did you have in regards to the menu as you mentioned you. Spent your childhood impose import. So did you have very strong. Opinions on wall belongs to the menu. And what doesn't so. We actually run a pop up in Puto for the summer for two months with my head chef at the time and we really use thoughts time to brainstorm ideas to travel around you you know. I'm I grew up in the north of Portugal so I'm very familiar with the northern cuisine. But what's so special about Portugal. I'm what's been so special about. The last three is building Baltar is really engaging and learning about those other regions which also rich in culinary and gastronomy but yeah at the time that would favorites from childhood's that were also dishes that we thought had identity which was very reimposed since a lot of the Times a small plates Portuguese concept. You know that's not really traditional. You have petit scores which are sort of small plates. It's butts traditionally wouldn't eat like that in Portugal. It's more about largest sharing dishes and so so you know I was conscious that I didn't want it to just mimic another Spanish tapas restaurant. I really wanted those decisions. And those menu items to speak the identity of Portugal's Strana me which is very much Atlantic driven and you've done a good job. Let's remember that was just a couple of years ago when we ranked as one of the world's what's best restaurants here US monocle very very generous and wonderful knowledge. You're very welcome now. You're opening your your second restaurant in the city. How much could you tell us about that? How different or how simulates the second body raccoons be compared to the first one so I think at London Bridge we? He was slightly limited in a way. By what we wanted to keep the menu short to the point we rotated every every season. There are some dishes that just don't move because they become so popular. That can actually sometimes be quite limiting when you wanting to show off a another hundred dishes that you've come across crossing excited about. I think that's really what the policier in Hof has been. What's been great about that is that we have just really been exploring? During Portugal's different regions different Tad was different recipes. Different Cultures and I think that our menu in the city just gives us a really great opportunity to scratch a little bit deeper about what Portuguese food is. What are those star dishes? By the way that are very much in demand. People may find from both restaurants. Well I think the Buccleuch Bras is one that has been a bit of a heritage buckle. Er Brash is shoestring potatoes very very thin chips which is gently scrambled with eggs and the so-called which we rehydrate for forty eight hours Solved with some olives lovely dish it should be very creamy and it's it's a real comfort food dish and I hope that that will be something that people enjoy in the city as much as they have done in London Bridge. But we're also taking some really exciting new dishes working on this lovely ill dish from the IRA Rawda which will be Friday deals with a Byron source which is really traditionally used on suckling pig. So it's a a white pepper black pepper golic source but it's great on the Friday deals as well how much you still have to be discovered from Portugal. Something the world hasn't quite goes familiar with yet. Every time I go home I think the world has discovered it even more so than the last time. It's just every time there's more people. It's a great points at the alignment with this buzzer tourism but also the locals really embracing the tourism. I think as more and more people go to Portugal. It also drives the experimentation of the chefs impeachable. So there's a wealth of traditional food as a starting point. You've got this book which is all a Bible. Maria alluded Vest who literally has written down all of Portugal's star dishes but then you've also got this generation of chefs Jeffs that went away from Portugal. Who have started coming back on bringing with them? A huge amounts of technical expertise on the taking these very traditional recipes on expanding Portuguese food is expanding those boundaries and considering how reached the Portuguese culinary culture. Do you think there are many dishes and many ingredients. The world has been discovered yet. Something you struggled to find from outside of Portugal I think Portuguese food is obviously hugely driven by the Atlantic. One thing that is very very hard to compete with even though we're in Ireland is the rich miss of produce on fish that you got on the coast of Portugal. You got wonderful. CARBONARA is down in the all. Gov You get incredible perception. which is a goose? Bonna cool on the north coast particularly something like Incredibly Hard Oughta find elsewhere. Something I'd love to put on our menu but it's just one of these ingredients. That's better left for Portugal and better enjoyed when you go visit. I mean there's a lot of dishes that we thought about putting on which would definitely challenge. I think people's perceptions but I mean you've could be the which is made with chicken's blood and you know and there's a lot of tripe and offal dishes in the north of Portugal which I think maybe will hold off from on the next restaurant where probably gonNA play a little bit more safe than that but maybe As a special once in a while maybe one day as we mentioned already. You're just about to open. Open your sick and restaurants in the city. What about after that? Do you have any longer term plans. Walt may happen after that. Yeah I mean. We now imports about fifty percents of all winus. Direct from Boutique produces in Portugal. One thing I've really liked to develop more of a wine shop Pango and also we bring in a lot of cheeses and shall coutries would love to develop a mercer which is a deadly concept. I mean the sky's the limit. You've got punch bakeries. which would be great to get involved in but Baldur in its core concept I think I think it definitely has potential insult to grow to one team or sites off to this Max Graham Phone Giraffe Bar Douro and the new restaurant in London's broad gate opens later eighty two this month

"Or whether you're an omnivore or whatever you are if you love food and most of us do love food dude. This book is a pretty great way for people to enter into thinking about making food at home. Which is something people don't do right well anyway something. The most people don't do but you know there are a dinner for everyone is a a kind of three pronged book and because we asked ourselves also what do people really want at this point. Everyone wants to cook quickly so we have that. Everybody's looking for better plant based meals. We have that and people like to cook for each other so we have that so the idea is that we take a concept like stroganoff or scampi or pizza or were possible as a or a glenn parmesan her stir fry. I mean there's a hundred different sort of iconic onic concepts on each one. We do a fast recipe like under half an hour really fast of ian recipes so we take that concept even if it's a meat base concept than we do a vegan version of it and we don't use fake meat or anything like that we just take the soul of the recipe al steel at fatty austin bulletin as actually remember the details of our there are grains that if you put an tomato sauce. Do you swear those ground meaning. Yeah baldur's really good r._o. Is really good. You just think what are those. There's these little chewy bits and it's like wow it'd be hamburger and then the third one is cooking for company so it's more complicated project based meals. That might take a little while so i like it. I it's a really good book. It's <hes> you note that it has the word every in it because my books tend to have their either cook everything this is dinner for everyone but so that we like big scale but this is really a way to kind of attack dinner from three different directions all of which are i think thing ways with people wanna cook yeah. I mean i think of you as the replacement for the joy of cooking. I mean that book has been iconic book but your books how to cook everything are sort of the modern version of the joy of cooking in a way and i. I just think if anybody really interested in cooking your books are the go-to books on how to make pretty much everything well thank you whether it's a vegetarian idea healthy and it's also mostly healthy and delicious and there's like a little indulgence in there which is awesome. There's nothing wrong with that. <hes> and i think it's <hes> it's important that people understand what you're saying. Which is that it doesn't have to be hassle to cook can be quick it can be easy and it doesn't have to be super expensive and i think these are the myths that the food industry tells us leave the cooking us. You deserve a break today. Get out of the kitchen and we disenfranchised americans americans from the kitchen intentionally as a as a culture and now you're saying let's get back in the kitchen and eero food and it's part of the solution to this food crisis. We're talking about it. Is it's funny. When i started writing about food as i said has started in the eighties by started cooking in the seventies you know that that <hes> there's a long long time ago now and that that notion that you deserve a break today in that food should be convenient than that. Your time is too good to be spent in the kitchen. That was a notion of my childhood. I grew up in the fifties and i mean really that's stuff started. Convenience food processed food really started in the twenties or even a little earlier but in the fifties after the war that's when women wear in a way being chased data the kitchen..
