"I really do like the idea of Adrian's at third, and you get Marwin Gonzalez got to sit down. So Noah this point And right now it's the bad Miguel's so no if if something comes out of what we've seen as of late, he is an absolute strikeout machine, one Skin two and four at bats. Today, He's striking out 50% of the time. He's not putting balls and play. Early in the ballgame today, hit the ball hard butt right into the shift. So right now, Miguel Snow For the moment is a liability. Do you give up on Miguel? So don't I'm not saying that, but you gotta find a way. Even with the injuries and the fact that Judge Donaldson is out of line up. I really couldn't agree more with all of your thoughts. I think that right now the twins Aaron a stretch where maybe the injuries have caught up with them a little bit. Jake Odorizzi just coming back. We'll see how he responds. Going forward. I'm not worried about odor reason you bring up Jose Berrios. I totally agree. He's 26 years old. At some point in time. Maybe Jose Berrios is exactly what you said. He is what he is at this point and, well, the numbers weren't terrible. He gave you a chance to win. But that's what Those are the kind of numbers of the three or four or a five guy on a championship contending team and the menu's sort of twins are a championship contending team. They are built to win here in 2020. There is no question about it. Five and 1/3 8 hits, four runs. All of them are and struck out for Walk three. That's a concern. Gave up a home run. So Jose Berrios falls to one into this year. That has to be a disappointment ritual They knew at the beginning of the season Had we proceeded normally in 2020 wasn't going to be available anyway. So you get to start our ritual. He's hurt this guy's injury play. They took a flier on Homer Bailey, another guy who's banged up right now The good news is Kenta. My aid has been really solid. That was a big acquisition for the minute sort of twins. So far, that's paid dividends. I sent it a week ago. My aide is my eighth. He's He's the teammates right now, and he's going to go in this brewer. Siri's so good opportunity, and we got to run to a break. 5 41 If you wantto talk twins right now, the struggles of Snow is a time to sit him down right now. And then, of course, Byron Buxton on the positive side. He's going well. That bodes well for the Minnesota Twins right now that the fact that Byron Buxton what he brings to the plane defence or to the field defensively. And now the fact that he could bring something to the plane. That is a big deal here. In the number 6519899226 Final pitch underway. The twin struggling for the first time here in 2020. They fall to the Royals forwarded to they get swept in Kansas City, and they've dropped four in a row. They jump right back into it with the Brewers at Mill Log, he's starting tomorrow night. You'll hear all those.

"Hey you who listening right now. If you're thinking about in the media if you're thinking about. Talking about things like helping people feel good in their body instead of just helping them shrink themselves. If if he attaches about things like whether it's binge eating with something that you feel like this heaps of people already told you about that who mind to talk about that we need you I really need you because we're not gonNA create change with just like one of my you know one person in a magazine in a a sea of nonsense, and so our collective voice really matters. So come, join us like come join join your voices get involved, and then I think we're gonNA drown out the magazine and the nonsense with a lot more evidence a statistic voices. Telling, people had actually be healthy I. Love that conclusion everyone keep going keep at it. Yeah. and. Finally just before we finish up on I, guess a media a question that people always want to nar is what is the earning potential of of media work? Does media what pay or is it kind of just looks a lot more glamorous than than what the reality? You can't rely on media work to get paid. You Will Bailey earn any money for media you will especially for the I didn't own anything. Now, I'm to the point where I end a little bit of money, but it's really more of a novelty payments than anything. It doesn't cover my time It's it's really just. We appreciate you kind of gesture, and so you need to have a very strong business model that supports you to do media wack. It's not charity where you're still working and the. Professional, the more experienced you get the more you can charge in Ospel but it will never pay your bills. Good inside I don't think a lot of people know that. And I guess as we're sort of talking about all the things that you've sort of done over your career. It may come off as if that was quite smooth sailing for you a very linear process but I'm sure it was very odd bumpy along the way with it ever times you wanted to just throwing the hat. I wanted to quit nutrition. I mean. Sometimes. Weekly I WANNA quit. At the really honest ons up. But actually I think what we do is really tough and I think we we know we're we're we're we're passion driven people. That's why we're doing this work. We have a lot of naysayers who are basically like, oh, great. Just have this like spirit leaner in like to start nate for waking be fine. So what we're trying to a lot of that Nelson's and drowns out, and then you have to run social media which doesn't make you feel very good. And it's hot what you're constantly working. So I think nutrition's sailing kind of job I wanted to quit uni the second year coins I was like this isn't me I can't do this I wanted to quit. Multiple Times throughout my career and yet I keep going and I'll I'll be honest there is a point in my mind where like I don't know if I will do this forever I have other things that I love doing maybe all of them but for now, I still passionate about what we need to do what needs to happen I've had the via the associated with starting my business. I didn't earn enough money to pay tax. So just to put expected, that's under eighteen thousand dollars with us. She is and here I am now where I got to a point where I started doubling my income each year that was awesome. But that doesn't happen able my businesses strong with is stable it allows my husband and I to work together for. A love seeing the growth but it's it's never ending I work. Weekends I welcomed holidays I work. My husband and I are in bed network and awake out than agenda because you always have customers to to, and that's just the profession. Choice the way I've decided to run my business, but it can lead to burn out. And That's not like you know. So just want to know I don't know maybe my life looks like my job my profession looks like way you'd WanNa be this point. Boss. It's hot and. Wherever, you get to always going to be just different struggles. I'm proud of whatever changed. But at the same time con-. Help if feeling like scholley, my jobs men to make me feel. Less anxious ten less stressed and I think the Dietitians we can be anxious bunch. We can be perfectionist that I think we have to check how mental health and doing what I've done this Korea doesn't it leaves you vulnerable to those kinds of things you've got to be quite resilient and strong. Absolutely I appreciate the honesty in that response 'cause I'm sure there's a lot of people listening here. You lack may were just noting the heads then. Yes And I suppose what have been some of the highlights that you can sort of pick from you'll Kore-. Do. You know. The first year that I was cash positive like I pay tax. It's really kind of. A. Massive air each time launched one of my products. It's a big deal, the amount of work that goes into creating that idea. Creating my book writing my book that was a big deal in by the lake money from making folks can I just say that usually? You'll be cash negatives by the end, but we do it full the fact that you get to get a really important message out there. So people really important that needs saying go ahead. See if he can get the books, he'll get it done share the recipes. But if you want money, it is a terrible strategy. Proud about it because I think. Maybe it seems more impressive than it actually is to be honest setting some of the other work that I do I think the work I do on Instagram is is more meaningful than maybe some stuff that you know I once wrote and put it in a book I think let's book I think Yeah Yeah and actually when I was consulting a number of my clients said I was reading this book by the Nude nutritionist and sorry. I think never underestimate the impact that that has even maybe not a great income stream definitely impactful I think lovely to hear. I will say though I put a lot of thinking time into creating social media contents before I think I used to regurgitate that I'd seen elsewhere and nowadays me thinking I would say like a lot of my time to spend thinking of new ways to phrase things that people need to hear said, they can hear it and it just gets absorbed just to WANNA point one thing. This his feet we had that it's already been said that it's originally being done, but you'll unique point of view is the thing that might make someone. Take notice the way you phrase things is going to be important because if your mom tells you to do something, you might not care but your best friend tells you to do the same thing just in her unique way and suddenly it makes sense. So you might be that person for someone. So that's why we need you in your unique story in the mix you that's actually thought of it that way but that such a good point a, you'll about saying things differently rat. And finally Mindy, if you could offer any aspiring nutritionists or Dietitians one piece of advice what would that be? And it's in the same vein but I'm going to say there is this belief that. If there's a Dietitian. nutritionist already doing what I WANNA do that.
For some arrested at the Portland protests, release is conditional on not attending future demonstrations
"About a dozen black lives matter. Protestors in Portland have been released from jail under the condition that they do not attend any future demonstrations. Streaks and records that will be cut short by MLB's 60-game season
"Is supposed to start. Uh late next week, the twins will open up against the White Sox in Chicago. It's a 60 game sprint. And it's going to be unlike anything we've seen, isn't it? Always. Definitely it's going to be exciting because every game very important, obviously, even in 162 games scheduled, but there's no room for area for three or four game losing streak. It could wipe you out in a 50 game season. Yeah, and to expound on your point. I saw this a couple of weeks ago. Every win is like 2.5 wins in a regular 162 game season. Every losses like 2.5 defeats. So if you win three straight games that's essentially like 7.5 wins. Basically, you lose 45 in a row. That could be a big setback in it. Oh, most definitely, and the mindset of your ball club. You know if there is pressure during this season, and you know what he what I like is getting prepared for the season some of their young talent. Having an opportunity to show their skills in there. We'll hit a slot games you're playing. I know I saw Perloff last year and I thought, you know he did enough to spring training last year to make the team but you know he was behind the extra al pewter. You know that between Cary because they have more talent will not more talent but more experience. So I'm good to see Karloff doing well and he'll be available for us this year. Any concerns about Louise Arise, Byron Bucks and some of the guys getting banged up in this spring training 2.0, Well, you know me personally, I believe, bustin. If you get him, he's a bonus. It just seems like if it could happen, it happened to him. Some people would say, Well, he plays hard, which he does. But you know he's not on the field enough for me. We've got a plan for somebody to take his place if he's ready to go Yeah, no question. Look, the pandemic has been a bummer when it comes to sports, But maybe it's been a good thing for the twins in the sense that Rich Hill should be ready to go. And some of these veteran pitchers like Homer Bailey Kenta Maeda that they W maybe fresher longer than they would be in a typical longer season. Almost definitely of I. You know, If there's some good to come out of this situation, Mr Hill will be ready to go for the Minnesota Twins, an important acquisition or, you know, that's a fun office picked up so I'm really excited not only just to be able to watch some baseball whether their fans or not, but I think this team has enough talent, and Rocco has prepared him in such a way. I'm sure that they'll be ready when the bell wing

Who really killed Blockbuster Video?
"I'm Peter Kafka and I'm Ronnie. Mola and this is landed the giants. The net flicks effect a podcast on Netflix's disrupted. Hollywood change the way we watch TV and movies. And how it should have been squashed by giant competitor, but ended up turning the tables and killing the video store. Okay Peter. Let's go back in time long. Before we had netflixing chill, we had blockbuster nights. Remember this tonight. Make a blockbuster. In the nineties and early outs, blockbuster was the world's largest video rental chain. It was a huge part of American culture at its peak, it was bringing in six billion dollars a year in revenue and had more than nine thousand stores around the globe. It was the place to rent movies it was. Social place like teens would meet their. You know people you know because that was one of the few things that you could always do as a high school student. Was You know you could get together with your friends and rent a movie and go to the cool, parents, house, and watch it where there's a copy of the wiz that I would like hide in a corner at blockbuster because I always wanted to be there when I come back for, and we would go in there her car then go into blockbuster and pick out a movie, and then we get a little treat you know I don't know. We pick two to three movies scary WanNa funny one and then in action. Nobody has the movie I want I. Even Video Blockbuster probably hasn't I mean? We have over ten thousand videos? Five six o'clock on a Friday night. Phones are ringing off the hook. It's never what do you have? That's good. It's always what you have. That's new that last voices Jason Bailey nowadays. He writes about movies for places like vulture in the New York Times, but years ago, he used to work at a bunch of video stores, including blockbuster, which he says wasn't as great as we might remember. I have much more nostalgic for the video store. Then I do for blockbuster in particular which really in a lot of ways. Ways killed the video store, flattening it into the sort of McDonald's version of the video store, right? That's what I remember about. Blockbuster killed my local video store replaced with blockbuster, which I did not like blockbusters were everywhere, and everyone rented from there, but that didn't mean it was a great customer experience, one of the big things that you always hear people who who don't remember blockbuster through a Golden Glove nostalgia talk about where the late fees or as they tried to rebrand them additional day fees or additional rental fees. They were outrageous. Boxer made a ton of money on late visas or additional day fees running. At one point late fees made up seventy percent of blockbuster prophet, and along with this highly fees, there are a long list of other problems limited new releases, long lines, shitty customer service all which is lousy for customers, which also made it lousy for employees. I got cursed out a fair amount. Again for you know just doing what I was told to do by corporate, but yes I would, I would be told that you know that. We were monsters that we were bloodsuckers. I had that thing back on time I saw you. You take it out of the box I was like I got called out like that I had people tell me I saw you in here when I dropped it off. You tell me you didn't check it in on time. I'm not paying that if it got heated, but this is all factored into blockbusters business model. The company even had a term for it managed. Dissatisfaction managed to satisfaction is a term that John Antioch. Oh the CEO Blockbuster explained to me, and that is is long as you give a consumer and. And of what they want. They will ignore the fact that they're not always getting what they want. This is unique heating. She's a journalist who covered enough for Reuters she also wrote a book and made a documentary about Netflix's history blockbuster understood that only twenty percent of customers who came in would get the movie that they wanted, and they would have to get something else the other eighty percent of the time. They weren't happy, but they weren't horribly angry. Managed dissatisfaction is one of the great corporate euphemisms for screw you give. Give us your money. You are ever going to hear and if you can't remember what it was like to go to. Blockbuster occurred analogy. Be Like an airplane. You WanNa. Airplanes are like it sucks every way, and if you want to improve it in any way, you have to pay additional fees for everything that is blockbuster in a nutshell in the nineties, yeah, customers felt trapped, and with all the smaller mom and pop stores being squeezed out. They didn't really have a better alternative, and then all of a sudden they did. Again you've gotta remember. That netflix emerged in the late nineties when the Internet still felt pretty new. Amazon was just becoming release accessible selling books online. Nurses, doctors feel strain as virus races through Arizona
"Well, it's a well known now nurses and doctors and everybody's feeling the strain as Thie Corona virus races through the state of Arizona. We got crowded hospitals, exhausted nurses, bodies piling up in morgues. It was a faraway concept when we started hearing about that, in New York and northern Italy and other distant places, will now after three months of anxiously waiting and preparing Arizona nurses and doctors are on the front lines of the Corona virus. As it rips through the state, making it Right here where we're at one of the world's hot spots. That's not a good distinction, either. And so we've asked A researcher physician author to Join US. Dr Cast I groom is joining us. He is a nutritional physician author of 24 books on health and wellness. Some of the titles include respiratory Solution, Natural Cures to Killer Germs, How to Eat Right and Live Longer. The cure is in the covered just to name a few. And I'm excited to have you back on the program today because we've got some exciting news about a study that he was involved in. That just came out that is showing some very important promise. And with that, let us welcome back to the program. Dr. CASS, I groom. Welcome to the program again. Hi. Great timing, I guess for the state and for all your Your loving and desirous listeners We've can We have some breaking news for them and let's get right into that. The's the wild spice oil therapy preventing Cova 19 case transmission in 50 healthcare words phenomenal. Take it from there. Well, we have Dunn the study before on active cases of covert, But this was the concern was the physical therapists and the nurses who did not get it and did not want to get it, but yet are on the front line in Chicago. So what we did Wass We did some novelty things. We've recommended the Sinus oregano spray, which is clothed but oil, regular oil Bailey oil, and I think sage oil It's in a sailing base, but they would inject that directly up each nostril several times a day, You know, because they've got all the P P E on by the way on the shields as well. Right, But you can't. You can't viruses. They're so small or whatever these passages have been a bacteria easily. It could slip through the cracks, you know? And they also used another novelty, which was a wild oregano Bailey spray, which is extremely virus idol, extremely bacteria, Seidel and that is my saliva spray that they would, they would missed over there pp. Either math or plexiglass shield their chest. And they would inhale that also buy and the second thing they did with it. If they got a scratchy throat or a dry cough, which are passed eggnog Mang of Na ge Catholic magmatic of this disease, they would spray the back of their throat multiple times. So they're getting direct contact in the mice allies form that's direct absorption through the membranes, and there's no way these passages could survive. With those kinds of spices. An immediate immediate absorption through the milk goes up. Uh, so I'm not taking any chances at all with these practitioner with these health, health care workers. The third thing they did was there was there's a novel supplement with oregano, cumin on DH, sage and cinnamon oils, and that's called a rigorous You and I are fans of that They actually took that product by mouth. Twice a day. Most of them. But the biggest thing was the Sinus spray and the use of Ah sterilizing missed. Kind of opposite of what we do. We take our things. We take our vitamins C. We take our regular They did it differently. 50 health care workers did not get sick, and some of them were Permanently exposed to covert 19 and tested negative because of this protective gear. We gave them right. And you know that some of the thing I've been reading about, you know, just even with the protective gear. Weatherby. The mask shield. Whatever. Just being around somebody is somebody talking to you. You can get into your system pretty quickly. 100 model you know, 100 different Viruses. And then, of course, a cough. Even Maura, I think it goes up to 500 then up over 1000 of somebody sneezes in that same area. The amount of viral load is just exponential at that point in time, and course the health care workers have the greatest exposure, as you well know is everybody recognizes the greatest exposure because they're around sick people all day every day and are in the trenches trying to help people out. We need to do something to protect them and at the same time This is a beautiful thing learning about it. We can protect the general
Online Activists Raise $5 Million to Create New MLK Jr. Quote
"Kohl's for racial justice have echoed through our cities and on social media in the past week, says more protesters across the country demand change, but for white allies like myself he can sometimes be difficult to know how exactly we can bring about equality in these troubling times, luckily one online organization is doing their part to bring awareness to the cause raising over five million dollars soul in an effort to create a brand new Martin Luther King. Quote for more. I'm joined by OPR's Marcy Hammons. Mercy? This just seems like a wonderful campaign. What can you tell us about the good Samaritans behind this project? Well, it all started with the facebook group. White lives for black lives and activism page run by Read Bailey who like so many others says she felt hurt and confused on how to best show. She was an ally, so she decided to use her social platform for good. We just wanted to do something big to show. We want change. Change and we felt like pushing the same old Martin Luther King quotes just wasn't enough

"Mixed in there And if I do think Marcus Bailey will have We'll be in there a little bit. I think the injury may cause the bengals to pull the reins back a little bit initially But I think you know as time wears on he he is healthy etc. I think you'll see it higher-profile profile role for him. I think you're gonNA see a niche kind of Type of role from Akeem gave his gator. He was one of the best pass rushing linebackers. That's not a you know a true you know. Tj type of player that is you know an edge rusher. He isn't outside linebacker but he was one of the more effective guys. Off the edge rushing the passer. So you know I I think on one hand. Logan Wilson has the ability to be that. Be All linebacker. Do everything pretty well. I don't think he's there yet. Because of the leap to the NFL he asked to take. But I think he has the ability to kind of do you know stop. The run diagnosed plays playing space. I think he can do all of that. I don't think he's air yet. But I think what what the brilliance is in the bengals bringing in these three linebackers in the draft is that they all do something a little different. You could kind of make the argument that maybe Marcus. Bailey Logan Wilson or a little bit more closely aligned in terms of their skill sets. But you can rotate these guys around. You could bring Davis Gay. Their off the edge as an additional pass rush option and or send him off into the flat in inmate..

"Live in New Jersey. Oh you do okay. You're still back there for my recollection. You did cash capital And then you were out. Because you're not like you're not of my generation you like the next one After me I'm behind like generation of comedians behind you. Yeah I remember when you were younger man And you were hat often. They believe I did. Oh my God I forgot. I forgot for the backward hat. My grandfather gave me that it was like a cap. Yeah it was like it wasn't baseball cap. It was like Irish cap cap. It was I still have it. You do yeah the hung it up. I hung it up. Control the Irish Bailey's please. But yeah so mostly Michigan but then ended up living in Kentucky. My Dad got a job working for General Electric from General Motors to General Electric so he was Like get corporate guy. He's a computer guy. Really when when that cards yes. Yeah actually interesting story They went. My parents both went to Oakland in Michigan Oakland University and he stayed for the summer and they got some on in some program they got one of the first one of the two first computers in the country like the IBM kind giant. Like the universe. Like it's a whole room you know but it wasn't like what stacks of cards. It was the medicated with He. And this other guy spent the summer learning how to communicate with the thing and and they actually got it to do some pretty amazing stuff. Yeah so pretty cool mathematical stuff that they were noted for but they had to make cards to punch holes patterns of holes in cars and feed feed them in. Yeah and like so. That's where he started. That's where his love of computers started so he's still in it now. So you know Ground Zero for computer. That was now he looks at our. You know everybody's got a supercomputer in their pocket or as you up because he understand the evolution of it. He does like when eight when they got rid of the car and they went to disks or floppies and the language what was a Beta cobalt cobalt. So he was up to speed with vow that shit he was. Yeah I mean my basement. No one had a computer before we had computers in the schools. We had our basement filled with computers. Like look like really. TRS Eighty from radio shack. What he was using because he was you know that whatever he was doing those are the ones he could get access to and use an early adapter of the computer? Peter did he might. Honestly my dad is like a computer genius like yeah he just knows them so well from that starting point. He's like if you if you're one of the first people to learn how to communicate at totally. We have to learn how to talk to this machine like we were giving him a hard time. The kids like there's no games pretty cool but there's no game I'm so he wrote a program and made centipede on the computer. Yeah out of brackets. The centipede was brackets. Yeah those were in place of the mushrooms a new little bracket somehow turned up. That you fired from yeah. It was amazing how he made it. He made it he wrote. The actual gaming centipede already existed there in one on your behalf so that was impressive. Yes we were like. Oh my God. How many really good at this? He's just to my sister and he was she do. She actually does kind of public speaking as well. She trains people use different types of software and stuff. So he's a computer person. Yup she travels around. Does freelance. Your mom your mom computer person. No no she's like creative type writer. Oh Yeah Eh. She's always a writer they still married. Yes there isn't that amazing. It is amazing. Yeah I'm marriages over here is still going like you. And I had a conversation during that period period of time when I was getting divorced and I think we did maybe Iran. I don't know outdoor. Is that what it was. Maybe it was like more in depth than that. I don't know where it would the been. I don't know if it was here. You think it was. It was at a party. Maybe didn't we went to Cantor's Oh was it. I think who into Kanter's one night with who me you and I always feel like. There's a third nate nate gate as I call him. Yeah that makes sense. Yeah yeah that was right around the time that I was. I've been through it but it was still lingering by just remember. There was a time where it was like. You're playing guitar. Earn a band studio at Your House. That's I just tell them about all. Those things are still the woman was it was just there was problems. Yes the You're leaning into the guitar a little more. I was I really was. Yeah we've now maybe that's a conversation. I don't remember. We really must have gotten into it was I was I. Maybe a little bit drunk when we had that really was I went to a very dark place through my divorce and I wrote some dark music. We've got to get. Its work up to that. Okay Okay yes sorry. That's okay okay so okay. So you're growing up in Michigan Your Dad's Ge and Michigan. Here's at General Motors back then in Michigan finishing school and stuff when so you had you and he was pretty young yeah. They're pretty young. Yeah so that's why they're like they there. What are they in their seventies? Yup seventy-five will younger than my folks. So all right so when do you move like when does he go to General Electric like when did you move seventy eight. And you move to where to Louisville Kentucky so you did High School in Louisville no I know then. We moved to Michigan Back to Louisville and then to Jersey. That's pretty much where I grew through Jersey. Nine I think so jerseys. The bulk of it. Yeah I guess I'M A Jersey boy. You are right not to harm in Michigan and Kentucky in earlier. I didn't really pick up. I don't have a thick jersey. Is your accent. There is yeah you think I think people habit yeah My parents are both from Jersey. I don't know if I have it. I don't know what it sounds like. Is it close to New York. I don't think you know it's close to. It would probably come out if I you mean it's sort of like philly ish got kind of like between Illionis your geography. It's been wingfield New York not quite as awful as Philly Philly so slightly worse than New York. So what did you go into high school. Were you in trouble. Yes yeah I was in trouble at school all the way through pretty much like uh-huh middle school hit once I made other kids last large Guy Grief Fighting Guy Not in high school not in high school he later then college a really. Yeah you put it off that long. I've just got in with these dudes and college and that's what we did. We drank and fought people. Yup unprovoked poked. Everyone was kind of everybody's kind of looking for it in that situation. You know young men looking for trouble looking for trouble something to prove. Yeah so however in high school I never gun fights like I was the opposite. Kids would try to bully me because I wouldn't get I didn't WanNa fight and huge but then when did that I grew late tall I I was told when I graduate. High School is like just about six foot and I weighed about a hundred and fifty pounds And then I grew. I was one of the taller kids at six foot. Six six to twenty. I didn't have any of this when I was in high school. We doing highschool drugs. No no not at all. WHO's no trucks at all my friends? You know we drove beers drank beers people by six pack outside the wicked storage. Yeah sometimes you go into the city. We'd take the train into this or you could drink eighteen. Then maybe you or we could go to like a deli by a case of getaway with fifty bucks or it looked like from Jersey. It's like you'll drive an hour and ten minutes. Yeah just to get the fucking beer yup and come back and then you're a hero. My friend and I we went and visited eleven thirty at night. We did it back my friend and I took the training And we brought a hockey bag and we loaded it. We didn't we didn't think about it. We noted it as God as much as we could beers beers wine coolers. Yeah whatever we could get. Yeah have a party but you bought him. It wasn't like we bought. We didn't steal them. We bought him for like five times what they should have cost at Bodega or something. Like a little Chinese couple owned the place. Yeah and we knew they would serve us. We couldn't carry the bag and we put so much into it. It was too heavy to carry the thirty feet at a time on the subway train. Yeah Body except you knew what it was because every time and we set it down and it was like we didn't get busted somehow. We made it all the way across our little hometown and everything and I look in for a couple of maybe they are yeah. I don't know so no interesting comedy in high school I I was interested in being funny. I knew that I like to be funny when it got when I made the other kids laugh. Laugh at school was when I kind of felt the best and I knew that about it you could disrupt the class with some confidence I could. Yeah and I. It's not once in a while. I make the teachers laugh. Yeah that's always. He's little bit reluctant. They're pissed off. You're disrupting but then you laugh and it doesn't. It doesn't end well like that though. It's not like they're going to like narrow. What you get squeak by? No no I got picked out of Class A lot. Yes I would still do okay because it wouldn't affect my grade right but they'd be like you. You're ruining your killing. You need to get out of your killing Out so but as far as like stand up I didn't see that much I mean I saw like some whatever I could get away with seeing tonight. You Know Harlan. and Richard. Pryor wasn't necessarily it wasn't like my I love stand up and I've always been very self-centered like it was always about me. I all right what can I do. What do I WANNA do right in in terms of just life so like standup But that that's exactly what you need for standup. Yeah I think so. I really stumbled into it. I always loved movies. Yeah what was would you so you just went to college with no goal or driver. I went to college to be a marine biologist. Believe it or not and for how long did that dream last The first year and then I got an idea of what it was going to be and and and I was like how much study the science mind that I like that part but I didn't want to be like broke on a boat by myself just like in compiling data. That's not the mets out of the water. Totally counting Algebra. And you know now what do you think made. Do you WanNa do that. To begin with. I always loved Jaaz like marine life. I have reef tanks to this day I still. I'm the reef tank. It's like a fish tank accents more about the corals than it is about the fish. Wait you keep living corals. I do saltwater tank and he manages Eh do who's taking care of them right now That kind of have created this little system so there's not as the maintenance is not as much but when I go home I'll be home in a few days. Yeah well you know you'll get involved maintenance on it which I like. It's like working in a garden. It's like Peace of mind kind of thing so you have living coral. Yeah amazing. They're like the coolest thing on earth to me. Yeah they're like somewhere between a plant and an animal. It's it's like a plant that moves around by itself is that what they they move. They do Carl. Carl moves yet the move around they attack each other. They fight over territory. You talking about the rocks in the ocean not the rocks. The rocks are there is such thing as live rock. But but it's not actually that the rock is why I've just has a whole ecosystem within it wasn't that coral is.

I didn't know I didn't have anything the new equipment but I was like when you get new equipment that it feels good dude. I had it on at my house was walking around great man. I'm taking off site. So I spent a great thing and a big part of it is the Camaraderie Camaraderie. The other guys like we hang around. We have a couple of beers after like just a great group of Guys Ninety Day Game Day night Tuesday night hockey. We used to play roller hockey rocky in New York Shell. It's hard man. Roller hockey is tough. Tell me if you're used to is hockey's I know 'cause the ice hockey there is that chance of like I can go really fast and then I can stop Komo on skis all hockey. Stop this thing before actually fly into the boards whereas you you gotta eat guys can do the hockey stop on rollerblades. Oh my God I think going to ruin your wheels yeah. That's a weird animal to me. Apparently roller hockey is faster than ice hockey. This is it. That's what they say. Oh it was. I loved it was right on Chelsea piers outside outside. Is it'd be like you're on that pier where they have the you know the rink out. There can't remember when Chelsea Piers was built in the gym in there and the other their stuff. It was like it's still improving. They have this crazy Hockey Training Facility in their Lau which was trying to get into when we were filming. I was like I I want to just go into like two sessions with these guys. Do they have an ice treadmill. What Yeah Fins and you can just skate in place and analyze here here? You're skating style. which is what I wanted to do? But the FLEX cited make it. It was like UN Week and traffic was so bad. That I just bailed you and I can't yeah get their mile and a quarter from me. And I just can't get to. You never going to happen. I don't know why they're southern New Jersey Jersey the Gulf abuse some Trivia while we're paying quiz me right around in the car and you can ask us how about. We just played golf. I watched the Linda Ronstadt documentary on on CNN and I watched Laurent community man and they did a whole thing about how Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris were good friends and they were good friends after Emmylou Harris had been head like worked with Gram Parsons who was in the birds and Parsons like died of a heroin. La He's out here a bunch and he did the show cash cab for so long and was so great on that it was Ben Bailey thank you for joining us on the show. Thanks for having me guys and cash cavs still going believe they're gone back and began. Yeah now we're back And we're on Bravo discovery. brought us back and then after two years didn't pick us up and then bravo was like. Hey we want you because it's such a good. I love that that at member of the days in this business. Where if you wrote a script for one place you'll be like yeah? They didn't pick it up. It's damaged goods and you're like but it's still a good goddamn script up to now. Yeah now I feel like places are more apt to say. I don't care that you're a dummy for letting this go discover your dumb for letting that it's almost like even WanNa talk about sports. It's almost like players like Richard Sherman. He's done he's done in Seattle and San Francisco's like we'll take him and and he's still got your you're on Bravo Do you ever drive any around not yet know yet. At my last we've had some Some Bravo people in there that we had a real awesome guys yeah. We had a real housewife. Marge someone today not. They probably didn't know shit. They actually did pretty well. Guys from million dollar listing. Okay Frederick and I just I don't know this. There's got I don't know that guy. I Know Friends Frederick was fun he was cool. He seems like he's fun. Everyone was like kind of warning me without saying it like this guy might be awful. Oh really I liked him. I thought I had a good time. I mean here's a high energy energy kind of guy. Yeah I mean what you know. Yeah what's he's like a guy who who has yeah like energy instead of like comedic and the guy comes out there and it's like he should warm up a crowd yeah Oh you're absolutely right but what about that show is your. There's not a lot of time and you do have a lot of business to take care of driving. Having a car personality still comes through. And you're still funny our thank you man. I tried hard. It's like you're absolutely right. There's a lot to get in there. There's not a lot of room for funny money so I'm just like mugging for the camera. What do you do really well? which is something that I feel like? Comedians understand is as you read the room you react off of what's being given to you so a question comes out. Someone doesn't know it however they're reacting to whatever the question is the easy question and they're taking a long time your reaction to that is funny. Oh thank you. You're sort of like what the what's happening right now. Like I'm with you guys is at home wondering why say Niagara Falls onto the what's another giant waterfall North America in Canada. We're where is another place where people have imaginary Canadian Girlfriends Breakfast Club Breakfast Club do you. You feel like you have just all this crazy. Not Useless but just silly knowledge just swirling around your head because of what you've done or do you just exited as soon as you're done I think I'm show I think a lot of silly knowledge swirling around in my head is a pretty good description of the criminal in their on the fly. So it's in there but and then it just like shopping at D'Agostino l let me tell you something about sorry that I learned whatever. Yeah let me tell you about the cutie orange it started in nineteen ninety-one The Tangerine is named for the city that it was once really shipped from tange ears really. Yeah that's associates. You have games. There is a gamesmanship to it in. And when we think about Sports yes I think. Sports is starting to evolve in a really interesting way in that like e sports is the biggest goddamn thing in the world. They are building an e sports stadium. Adm in a state like arena. I guess is what I would call it in kind of. Near the Ferrari like fantasy football video video games like four hundred yeah all that stuff building an arena. Just for people can watch. I can watch people play video games on a big screen so people can basically be the little brother to the big brother who's on the I was like people play video games in arena. This should be in the basement of the staple center her down there. Put some panelling old like seventies room and the whole match is. Just someone's mom gets over the God Mike and is like Dan or she's comes through with the vacuum. Yeah I mean we're joking about it but it is an there. Were joking about it but it is a hewing business. That's crazy. Do you think about scrabble tournaments. I think about spelling bees. In it's a lot of that is an Cheslatta that is strategy and knowledge and being able to put forward. I think think about the most recent where they put like the champions of the champions on jeopardy like the best of the best. Yes gather on that jeopardy a week and it was huge. It was everybody's into everybody's telling me about it and he's trivia thing that's the kind of thing that that it's exactly like sports when you think about it. We'll beautiful like a champion here. Someone who's like kicked ass and then you've got these other guys who have just kicked gas and then you put them on hand to see who's the best of the best people in sports do that all the time I mean. That's what people better I mean Derek. Jeter just got into the hall of fame fame yesterday. And you're like well is he the Best Cure Saab of all time way. Wait he ozzie. Smith was this and then way way way there's Jordan Lebron James. They're like how can we. Everyone wishes they could match them up against each other while scrabble scrabble. But Jeopardy it you know. You can't be necessarily early aged out of it so if you were acid champion. Five years ago. And there's a massive champion this year. You can put them head to head and that kind of thing is what what generates excitement site and how you can do in Trivia but some you can't do in like on the actual court skills deteriorate right which fascinating but I can't actually put those guys against against each other old. What are the similarities? I know and there would be Michael Jordan would literally when you say break your ankles. He would literally break. I think it's interesting thing that the strategy on jeopardy changed the one guy who was a professional gambler. Oh yeah then came along or special poker player player just changed the way everything like nick he would try to like win a little bit and then go for the daily double and then make it a true daily.

"K.. I love this song. This is feel the way I want. Caroline rose off off the album superstar and the album cover is dope. It is fantastic in this. That's right. It's viewed from the cheap seats. SKLAR brothers here coming at you with some hot sports takes. I don't know if they're hot takes but they're GORTEX take take a real take so we were all set to talk about. How jeeter didn't get a full one hundred percent of the vote which is ridiculous? Joking who three eighty six afternoons at. WHO's the guy from Boston? Didn't do it right. He's got to be from Boston. Yes like GM deep doesn't think Derek jeter over three thousand something three thousand. Hey remember guy does every five world series guy has been in more. He's literally the captain and the leader of the data home run in his last game last at Bat all right. He's assurance maybe the greatest shortstop of all time arguably this guy doesn't get in he doesn't get in on a first ballot in your in your eyes. You just doing it to be a Dick we were talking about that. We're not gonNA talk about that instead. We're GONNA talk about that because it was upstaged by one of the worst basketball. Ask Ball brawls. I mean people are saying it's worse than the the mouths of palace inaudible didn't really didn't go into the fans but G G go into the fans a a little bit but it wasn't against the fans here so here's what happened. Kansas and Kansas Kansas state bitter rivals just like Michigan Michigan State just like Oklahoma and Oklahoma state rivalries are bitter. It's fine that fuel sports. It's okay to hate another school and to be to want to knock him out. However Kansas had was winning the game by a lot? Kim's was up eighty one fifty nine. They're up twenty two points on this game. This game is over and Outta reach and by the way was there like no time left on the clock. Yeah Yeah they were winding the game down in Kansas trying to wind the clock down with just a few seconds left. Kansas state was supposed to lay off of the of the guy. dribbles it out at that point you just let them dribble it out so he was out and they probably felt like Kansas was maybe run in the score up on them I think they were. I think they proud their pie with some trash. Ask Talk throughout the game. There probably was some other stuff that happen extracurriculars so the guy from a guy from Kansas state steals the ball which you should China like a known thing that you just don't do that it's like from a guy who's trying to dribble out the clock and the game and then goes in for a layup and gets fouled blocked in kind of foul. No he didn't he gets blocked he gets kind of fouled and then the guy who blocked it stands over him on top of him. This is a guy who has been suspended demanded before was out for like a year or something like that and then came back stands over him as if to say. Don't do disrespected that. I just blocked your shit and on his way I feel and then everyone got. You didn't need to stand didn't need to stand over the U.. Blocked him you die by the way you did what you had to do. You blocked him in you just off the court or block him and go to your fan base and pump up your family's you won the game by twenty two you just block this guy who tried to do something he couldn't finish handing over over a guy is the dumb thing to do. Then even dumber these guys come in and start fighting in the fight dribbles into the stance that same guy who stood over the guy picked up a chair thankfully thankfully an assistant coach dumped on a guest don guys Randy Moss to stomped on his neck twice. So here's the crazy thing. Kansas is ranked number third in the country. They'RE GONNA lose a lot of guys I think they have to if you are the NCWA you can't allow this shit. Aa You're the weakest governing body I've ever seen gene ever you had. FBI proof that schools like Kansas. Kansas Arizona John Miller is on the phone promising. de'andre eight eight nine hundred thousand dollars. You can't get more unless you are a young kid and FBI agent posing as a seventeen nineteen year old kid who receives the money in your hand and get more red handed in that and didn't do a goddamn thing so now's your chance to do something here and I hate to say it. The problem is it could have ended with the guy standing over. You get technical. Maybe that guy suspended for a couple of games that ends right there but it got so much worse than the Kansas. Doug and you're at home you dig yourself such zip up you know huggins. This is what Bruce Weber used to be the coach for Illinois Bruce Wherever I did see the coaches afterwards. Yeah Bill Self can sit up there all. He wants coach of Kansas insist. And say it's a disgrace and we should but dude you you're GONNA YOU'RE GONNA lose players. Probably for good. I think for the year her for sure till the end of the year guys are going to be suspended like Kansas. Might have four guys left on the team because everyone cleared the bench. Everyone came out everybody. Eddie who threw punches anything to us. Four or five guys out for the year and maybe out forever and the NC Double A.. Says okay this behavior is fine so it's really what the NCWA what type of message. Now wait now we sit and wait and try and see who's the NCAA going to be. Are you going to be the kind of institutions. You're says let it happen. Yeah just like you you did the FBI report. That was so detailed about coaches cheating and programs that are traditionally and by the way if you do it and send a message to cancer. You're not doing this to some college. That's ranked eightieth. You do into that you do it. You're sending the message that it doesn't matter where you sit. It could have been seriously hurt forever in that game or fans could have been hurt if you throw a chair in it. Misses the guy you're going at. You could go after a fan and then the city will head school gets dude. What if you bring your five year old daughter to a a game six year old daughter sitting under the hoop and then all of a sudden a chair comes flying and you hurt him in the head in any can't see anymore like that's possible in the melee and in the craziness that that was happening at in this fight? This can't be allowed and you can't just give like five game. Suspensions this is e can't find these kids they're waiting paid or maybe view find them find Adidas guy the worst the worst punishment that should go towards the thicket from Kansas State. There is no oh punishment you play till the end of the game if this guy's going to run the ball. Maybe you're not supposed to do that. That's the unwritten rule. But there's no basketball rule that say kiss. How about this? You're winning by twenty points. Guy Steals the ball and does a layup. Let them do it and just laugh at go point at the scoreboard laugh at him as him or block them and so they made so many mistakes steaks and the NC double A.. Has To get this right. We're talking to you. NCWA right now you gotta get this right. I'm talking guys banned from the for the rest of the season. And maybe be and maybe maybe a whole year until this time next year. And maybe something for the coaches for not being able to hold their guys back and show them how to do it right. I mean that's a a hard thing to push. But like that would then tell everybody finds for the coaches for you lose recruits or you cannot play in how about this. You can't play in the in the NCAA tournament this year. Would that Suck Kim playing any postseason. Tournament can't play in the big twelve tournament campaign the postseason tournament. That's what's GonNa Happen. It was ridiculous. Go Watch watch the video man it is insane you else is insane Ben Bailey on this show Ben Bailey on the show coming up in high vitel start with basketball we end with basketball cash. cavs Ben Bailey. We actually felt really good about it until we started telling our family members most which were supportive, but there is a few family members. That were like, oh, well that sucks. I'm sorry. That you know, your life is going to be terrible. Now like as as if he was going to be a burden or that. There was something wrong with him. You know, again that old school idea of the weird kid. Can you tell us a bit about what it feels like when you get angry? Margin cartoon when people get Allred angry and stuff, that's. What is it? What do you want to do when you're angry? Kundu alive. Get me like angry toy in a happy. Fidget toy. All right, orange green on to it. That is Bailey now in middle school on a good day one where he can talk about his feelings and have a conversation about what they're like a day where he can associate that feeling with a fidget toy day when it seems manageable. But it's not always like that Bailey has anxiety and depression on top of his autism. And as Bailey got older, he did learn to make pancakes and make very funny jokes..
