Dinesh Exposes the IRS As a Rip-Off Operation

"Recently, the GOP led House of Representatives repealed a congressional provision allocating almost $80 billion to the IRS to over ten years, hire a whole bunch of new agents and the House Republicans said, listen, you don't need the money. You're going to just use this money to badger harass and rip off the taxpayer. And I want to focus on a particular case that seems to show the IRS doing exactly that. I know about the case only because it wound its way up to the Supreme Court. And the Supreme Court basically weighed in and slapped down the IRS for imposing really a ridiculously excessive penalty on a guy for not reporting his foreign bank accounts. Now, here's what let's go into the story a little bit because the guy, his name is alexandru, bittner. He was born in communist Romania. He moved to the United States when he was a young guy. But then when the Soviet Union collapsed, he moved back to Romania from 1990 to 2011, so he lived in post Soviet in the post Soviet bloc for about 20 years. Now he was a really successful guy. He had a bunch of businesses, and he opened up a whole bunch of foreign bank accounts. Then later he moves back to the United States and he discovers that he is required as someone who has these foreign bank accounts simply the file a report. With the IRS noting that he has these bank accounts. He says I didn't even know I was supposed to do that, but he hired an attorney and the attorney said, I'll prepare the documents for you. And so he filed them. Now the IRS basically said that this guy did not file these timely reports. For 5 years, 2007 to 2011. Again, reports that you didn't know he needed to file. And so the IRS decides to fine him. Now, the correct amount to find him because apparently there were 5 years and he didn't file a report for 5 years, is $10,000 per year. So the amount that they could find. And remember, when you don't know there's a law, it doesn't excuse you from having to follow the law. You still have to do it. And so the IRS should have probably fine this guy $50,000, which was a small fraction of the total amount of money in those accounts. He could easily have paid it. But the IRS decided not to do that. They decided that for each account that he didn't file a report, it's a separate violation. And it needs to have a $10,000 fine attached not to each report, not each annual report, but to each particular account and because this guy had a whole bunch of accounts, it turns out that the IRS stuck him with a penalty, let me look for the actual number here. It was a penalty of $2.72 million.

$50,000 $10,000 House Of Representatives United States Supreme Court IRS 1990 2011 5 Years Each Each Account $2.72 Million GOP 2007 Each Report Over Ten Years Alexandru Romania About 20 Years Almost $80 Billion

Strong 2nd half sends Hoosiers past No. 18 Wisconsin 63-45

"Indiana went on in 18 to two run to open the second half in cruise to a 63 45 win over number 18 Wisconsin. The hoosiers held the badgers to 32% shooting and got 18 points from trace Jackson Davis. We play Wisconsin as the team Ivan beat since I've been here. And obviously they're a little shorthanded, but we're sure handed to. And so it was a dogfight and we knew it was going to happen on the defensive end and that's what we preached all week. Wisconsin, which has lost three straight, was led by Connor assigned with 14 points. Indiana snaps a three game losing streak. Tom McKay Bloomington, Indiana

We Chat With Paul Sztorc of Layer 2 Labs

"We're joined here by our special guest today. Bitcoin independent economists think our programmer developer Paul storz has been on the show a couple of times before. And fresh off some interesting news from his entity layer to labs, raising $3 million very interesting, glad we can catch you. Paul, welcome. Thanks a lot for joining. Hey, thanks for having me. Yeah, so we last spoke and it was good to meet you in person in Riga at honey badger 2022 coming to my neck of the Woods in Eastern Europe. Yeah, it was great. I promise you, we'd spare the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth discussion for later for different pod. But this one I think I want to talk more about, everything that you've been doing for many, many years. And I'm interested in keen to hear some updates. I'm always up to something exactly. So what was the story with layer two labs? Is that a secret project that you had brewing for a while? Well, yeah, I was kind of like, you didn't really know what people would think of it, but yeah, actually a lot of it is sort of still secret, but I have put together some good ideas. We've got some opportunity and we've got an interesting business model, and so basically the other thing is, you know, there are all these people out there, you know, this year, especially last year, but January this year, like those ridiculous projects would raise like $250 million that won, that Facebook project, this name, I can't even I'm happy to say I can't even remember. And then Solana, they would give themselves a huge just racist enormous amount of money. was kind of like, you know, if you can't do it with like a little bit. But this is only the seed round. So I think we'll raise a second round, but that will probably be the only two rounds, but really $3 million is kind of a lot. If you're ready to think about it, I was thinking about how I don't know what you want to call it like just spending a ton of money, these other crypto companies are, it's just a scheme.

Wisconsin beats Oklahoma State 24-17 in Guaranteed Rate Bowl

"Bralette Allen ran for 160 yards and a touchdown to lead Wisconsin to a 24 17 victory over Oklahoma state in the guaranteed rate bowl. The badgers held off a fourth quarter rally by the cowboys. They're now 7 and 6, Alan said he had a lot of help from the coaching staff. I was getting good work, but also not putting too much of a beating on my body throughout. That preparation. So that felt amazing. You know, I'm just excited to I was excited to be able to play kind of feeling a 100% again. Oklahoma state attempted a fourth quarter comeback, but the rally fell short with a costly interception. The cowboys now also 7 and 6. George Phoenix

Larry Taunton: Trump Is the Freddy Krueger of Politics

"Say Trump is like the Freddy Krueger of American politics, like he just, he won't go away. And I got to tell you folks, you know, he's like, he's like the honey badger. I mean, the humor in this is to see the harder they go against him and against those who supported him and who love America, the worst things get for them. They are basically, they don't know how not to overplay their hand in the Mar-a-Lago raid was an example. I mean, what might they do next? I mean, we don't know. Yeah, I agree with that. And it's very interesting that we have yet to be given a clear reason for the Mar-a-Lago ray. I mean, they've offered no legitimate illegal reason for searching Barron Trump's room and going through Melania Trump's underwear. I mean, this is the kind of stuff that this government is doing. And at the same time, I mean, I saw a very clever, you know, Babylon bee headline that says, you know, president who protected his own son from the FBI and who raided the home of his opposition says that we are in danger of becoming a third world banana republic. I mean, this is the kind of stuff that you see in the third world.

How to Push Back Against Parasitic Ideas With Dr. Gad Saad

"About activating your inner honey badger, rejecting kind of cowardice. Talk about other technical things people can do. Immediate action steps. That people can take to push back against these parasitic ideas, the woke ideology, that they feel so they feel alone. They feel isolated. What else can people do? So before I answer this in a very pragmatic way, let me just explain some of the reasons why people are driven to inaction. So there's something in ecological economics called the tragedy of the comments. Let's suppose I've got ten farmers, all of whom are using a particular patch of land for their livestock to graze. But the land needs a couple of years to recover. And so we come to a gentleman's agreement all ten farmers that none of us will use the land honors word. I won't violate it. Now, the ideal thing is for me to violate it, hoping that the other 9 people will stand up to their agreement. Therein lies the tragedy of the common. We all end up violating the agreement and then the land can never recover now. How is that relevant to what we're talking about? That's exactly what happens when you diffuse responsibility onto others to speak on your behalf, right? Each of us says, you know what? I'm going to speak. But you know what? It's probably too risky for me because people are not going to like me on Facebook. Maybe I'm going to get fired. Maybe I'll be kicked off Twitter. You know, someone else will do it. So hopefully they will be courageous enough to speak, whereas I can lay in my cowardly action and that hopefully the problem will be solved without me having to bear any costs. So we've already explained psychologically the mechanisms that lead to inaction. The way you turn out to come to answering your question in a direct way, don't diffuse responsibility by taking whichever steps you think are appropriate for your own calculus of risk to reward ratio, right? So

Commentator Gregg Jarrett Discusses the Riveting Rittenhouse Trial

"Greg Jarrod, welcome back to one on one. Great to be with you. Greg, you you've been in this tour tree business of the intersection of law and politics for a while, let's just put it a while. Is this I'm not a lawyer? Greg, and I come to this as somebody who sat in the back of a court once. When I got a speed, I was driving too fast and I had to go to a court salmons and I thought I've never been to a court. So I went in three hours early and I sat in the back just to look at what a county court was like as a newly minted American citizen. And it was fascinating. But it wasn't what we witnessing on TV screens across the nation for the last week. Is this a normal trial? Is this witness badgering is the judge saying, don't you be brazen with me? Is this par for the course? Give us your expert opinion on what we are seeing. Well, courtrooms can be high drama and, you know, centuries ago before television before the Internet before core TV where I worked for 8 years. You know, people would flock to courthouses in courtrooms in some ways it was their source of information, but it was also their source of entertainment and this certainly has not been entertaining, but it has been riveting to watch this unfold. And you see on the screen, Kyle rittenhouse made a compelling witness. He broke down. He sobbed. You know, I really hate to see somebody like LeBron James mock it with laughing emojis if LeBron James had actually watched much of the trial. He wouldn't have made such a stupid

"It's not a commentary on the content. It just i felt a little more in the story. But i often thought that it's a good read but for me. It was three bookish rights scenario going to end with our give me one and our give me one comes from one of our ambassadors amy in. It is a clothing store where you like to shop. Jen what is your choice. So i'm gonna cheat a little bit so the store is loft just because it's one of those stores like you know the stores where you know your size you know what's going to fit you styles gonna work for you but i also wanna shout stitch fix because it's been a while since i talk for them and that is not a store that's a subscription service but it is so much fun and i do get a lot of my clothes from stitch. Fix and yeah. I've had a lot of success with them. So the stores lost but i also recommend stitches. I like stitch fix to you rich by actually what's yours so this is something i might have shared some but i really struggled with this since i may virginia the limited was my store and that is where i bought all my professional close and then i did not have easy access when i moved and didn't love shopping online and then they had a lot of bakruptcy and transformation and stuff so since then i feel like. I haven't had the same anchoring that i had earlier on in my career. As far as like my go-to for professional closer. I am still on the lookout and we'd be happy to take recommendations. I have thought about trying to fix. I had some luck with doing one of those kind of mix and match boxes from threat up. So i'll probably try that again but a store that i wanted to mention that i plan to shop at when i get back to the states and bacteria virginia. Is charlie rose boutique. That is one of our downtown stores in isis. Really admire their social media presidents. i think that to their handle is shop. Charlie rose and you can order online also for people who are listening outside of virginia. But i just love the owner. I love her. She's very body positive and affirming and really just seeing her social media presence. That's made me want to shop at the store. So i haven't done much shopping there yet but i love what i see online and that is a place and i'm planning to check out. I will definitely need to be freshening up my wardrobe when we when we get back home. I will be saying goodbye to pretty much everything i brought. Because it has had a lot of wear and tear. And it'll be time to freshen up and that's one that i'm excited to try when i get home and again not charlie. Rose boutique is spending the store. What about you sarah. What's one for you. "I think that angela believe also explorers aid. Ya of what it means to be a native teen. Today's world until we really see that exploration in this book as well of just. What does that mean for. Donna's fontaine how does it impact your daily life. What experiences does she have. How is she treated sometimes differently. Were how does she experienced racism. I think we see a lot of those points explored. But then like i said the other thing. Is that the center. She has lost someone that she loves. It also is in a very mysterious situation or what. She believes to be one at something that similar to trevor and the car accident. It's something that people believe that. They know exactly what happened. But over time with her experiences she comes to realize that perhaps things are not what they seem and so. I think that that threat of unpacking the mystery and of eighteen who is willing to go the distance who will do what it takes in order to get to the root of the problem. We really see that. Donna's fontaine also. She is also a really courageous character. Who is willing to do whatever it takes. And so i love i think. I admire alonzo a character and donna's fontaine's character in a similar way. So i feel like that doesn't have anywhere. Near as many of the fantastical elements as far as speculative fiction. But i do think at the core story. There's a lot of similarities so again that's that's angeline bullies fire keepers daughter and it is a great book. That's still not. Tb are and i just keep seeing i just want read it so badly. have gotten to but gosh every time you all talk about it. I just i deserted. I want to read it so badly. Yeah you'll love it. what about you. Sara what's your parrying. Well like jen. I hesitated to talk about this one. Because i feel like i've talked about it several times on the podcast but when i was thinking about lax away to me i thought about daniel. Clayton's the bells for one thing. This story centers on camilla beauregard. Who is a strong female character. Who is really fighting for her family. Which are the other bells and what she believes is right and i feel like she has that connection to la and then the other thing that really stood out to me was the way this is a fantasy book and i felt like lettering had a lot of social commentary on racism in class. And i think it donald clayton does a really good job just as as darcy. Little badger does I thought down donyell. Clayton did a really good job of making this book very accessible but also making some very strong statements about racism in class within the fantasy world of the bells which i think was also present in Away so i thought when i was reading latch away i thought about the bells and i felt like that's why i had to stick with that as you all know. I love this book. I love the bells and so i wanted to talk about it one more time. Yeah i think there's connections make a lot of sense. I think it's like our books took different facets of alas away so very different parents but yeah okay so let's end our discussion with bookish hearts jen. What number bookish hearts are you gonna give away. This one is a four and a half for me. Okay actually this was a solid for for me. what about you. Sarah stiffer me. But they both have this sense of a world where the dead can always be with us where their spirits can be with us but they are definitely changed and i think adriana like ali is such a strong character but they are both very much still in the process of figuring out all of the facets of their identity and yeah so i just think if you liked alas away i think that cemetery boys would be a great next read because there are so many commonalities even though ultimately i think the styles of the change quite different. I think there are a lot of things that make them a great pairing. I think that's a good one. Ashley what is your choice for your parent. So several came to mind from. Es while but the one i want to recommend is angeline lease fire keepers daughter. We've talked about this a little bit. This came out not so long ago and was just a really phenomenal release when it came out and this was also young adult and there are a lot of things that connected but the main thing that released it out to me is that in both cases. There's a bit of a central mystery that is being uncovered and there's a lot of nefarious forces at work that are helping to keep that mystery hidden and so i feel good. Could that part really is what brought this to mind. Donnas fontaine is the main character and she is of the agip way tribe so it is a different native heritage but she is similarly deeply rooted in her native heritage and in her connection to the way community so she is actually an unin- enrolled tribal member and she is part native and to a lot of that explored what it means to be an enrolled member. Why it's important to be enrolled in a tribe what impact that has on her life and like jon said before..

"After everything that happens with the town with trevor and with elize ability to help in what could have been much more disastrous situation. She's recognizing that perhaps her understanding that she'd always had was wrong and maybe there's another way to see it. And i think all. That's really rich so i absolutely love that passage. I loved more generally the conversation that elliott has with her appearance after the encounter is over. Yeah i love that jen. What is your quote. Yes in mine actually takes place right after the one ashley. Just read but this is she's talking elliott talking to the coyote and says that she's gonna tell her story. I guess i should start from the beginning. When i was a kid. My parents took me to the pounds. That's where i met a dog. She'd say his name and tell his story. Maybe someday he'd follow the words home. And i think what i love about that one is what it represents in the story which is l. e. taking her place in this narrative that has continued from sixth grade. And that yeah. Just i. I mean i just love that whole section of just. It's finally coming together for her and eleusis smart and things have been together for her throughout. But i sort of see that as a step up in her acknowledgement a few. She is and of what's important and of her place in her family history. So i love that. And of course anything with kirby makes me happy i love. I mean who doesn't want their relationship with their favorite pets. It continue past its death and i think that is so. It's so easy to connect to that. I think that's a great anchor point in the book for me. Yeah how about you sarah. What's a quote that you want to explore. Mine is pretty simple into the point but it is about ellie's feelings surrounding trevor's death and her connection to the afterlife and the quote is maybe sometimes once felt like needs because the alternative hurt too bad and to me that was just so powerful. And it's funny. I when i was listening to the book and when she said that it just like here's my heart when when that was read and zanu that was gonna be my quotes because a just to me it is such a simple thing but to me it resonates when you lose someone sometimes even though what you want might not be the best thing but sometimes it feels like a need because the hurt in the the pain is just so great and i thought that was really a beautiful way to express that intimate yeah. I thought all of that with war that we see in and the way that she will go to any length and is willing to do anything. I thought that was really powerful When i mean. I think when you think about lenore and when she is speaking talking about the last thing that she said two trevor before he left and then the desperation in that she felt knowing that eliot had this connection to the afterlife and that even though she knew the consequences of trying to bring back a human or have that connection with someone in the afterlife she was willing to risk it. When ellie said that i mean you know it just it just hurt me in my chest..

"But i've never read anything quite like this where that heritage culture is paired with the vampires and yet the ferries like i thought it was so great. Jay was part vary. He only has a little bit of the power and it gave me the feel of. I don't know if either of you watch true blood on. Hbo have read those books. The sookie stackhouse thought but it parts of it felt like that where you're in this magical world with all of these magical creatures and also. Here's all this other just really every day stuff that people that That teenagers today have to deal with so so. I really likes that. All of that was living together. A sort of light that it felt a little uncomfortable unexpected but then it just became a merit of the story for me. Yeah i thought there's connections. Were really interesting to jen ashley. What is something that worked for you. So i think one of the things i loved the most was injured kind of touched on this with comments about the racism that ellie faces and also the way is that. She's exploring her. Lynn apache heritage. But i think the thing that really works the best for me was the exploration of her native culture. And so i loved all of the. I love the part about the lisbon apache land and the way that she could use that power to banish people from that space. That was really fascinating and i loved how i mean. Kind of what john was saying about. Looking at the speculative fiction part but then tying it to historical fiction and to really looking at. Yes that was that that land belonged to that community. And what does it mean if there are trespassers on that land. I thought all of that worked really well so i think that was the part. I love the best. Particularly i love. This story is have her six great grandmother and the ways that that understanding of her heritage and her lineage. Her legacy like how that shaped her understanding resolve. I loved that. Especially but in general i like tau eli's understanding of herself in her space in the world was connected so strongly to her roots and i thought that worked so nicely and just in a really fascinating way. And this. Like really speculative novel where all these like really outlandish things also happening so yeah. I think that was the thing that work best for me. Yeah i liked that too. What about you sarah. What was something that worked for you. I mean i think i have to reiterate what you said..

"Creepy. So that's the summary of laps away. We're going to talk it as we always do with a few different points and then we are going to give bookish hearts at the end and our parents so first of all is overall impressions. Ashley what were your overall impressions. So i really enjoyed this one. It wasn't what i expected. I did not. there would be some magical elements. I kind of remember jen saying a long time ago about her pet dog kirby and that he is this ghost dog and so i remember it a little bit about that and was interested in that part but i didn't expect it to be as much in the realm of the paranormal as it is. I think this is if you haven't read yet and you're listening. This is a great mood. Read for october and a lot of fun and atmospheric and that way. I thought that what worked really well for me was the connection that alaska has to her heritage into our past and the ways that that gives her strength in her present at all of that was really lovely and i also really liked her relationship with jay. I liked her relationship with her parents to. There were a lot of things as far as the community relationships. And the connections to each other. That i thought were really fascinating and i did absolutely love. Lots ways connection with her dog kirby so he is a dog who was her pet in real life and who is now her goes pet and i found all of that the connection between them and the way that that gave her power but also protection. I thought all that was really beautiful to help out you. What were your overall impressions. Yeah i really love this. This was a reread for me. I originally right it as a buddy read with the mamas but club and yet the cover. I think gives a very different feel and of course we should not just be covered blah blah blah. But the cover gives a very different feel of the book than i think the book ends up being and i do remember that the way it started. Where it launches you into this modern world and immediately you figure out that there's kirby in vampires and yet was interesting and then this time i reread it on audio which i thought was great by the way and i. I was prepared for that. I was much more focused on the interesting way that darcy little badger takes the speculative fiction elements of the book and yet the fantasy elements of the book and they can access with alas waste past and her heritage and that sense of story and it stories are important that regardless of how true to life they are there's trees in them and i think that's really interesting when you throw in the vampires and then i won't do the spoiler yet but what we ultimately find out is behind her cousin's death and i think all of that is really woven together so in in such an interesting way. I think it's a really innovative puck. And yeah so. I really loved that..

"A retelling of exactly how the myth originally was and how much of it. is the creation of jennifer saint. But i'm absolutely loving it. It's been great so far so again. That's our way and is by jennifer. Saint that one's on my list. I love a retailing. Yes i was surprised. I i've been together. You had read it. And i was surprised. I haven't read sir say either. I've heard both of you rave about that. But golly ashley that one sounds really fascinating and compelling yeah it is and it also has been great to do on audio I think i would enjoy reading it. But i will say that as much as i loved searcy and i loved it it actually took me a long time to work my way through it especially the first half of the book and i haven't found that with this but it similarly complex and so i wonder if the listening is really helping with momentum but yeah it's it's great. It's great story and just a really interesting. I mean like searcy. In some of the other retailing's it's a really interesting examination of the role of women in the time. And how they how they saw themselves or could have seen themselves in this larger setting where the men stories are. What dominates and so. That's all really fascinating. That sounds great. What about you sarah. What are you reading. I am reading a book for my in real life book club. I'm reading good company. It's by cynthia. Da mcsweeny and i am loving it. It is an examination of marriage in relationships and being a parent the book centers around these two couples who have been friends for a really long time had been involved in this theater company Good company for part of their lives. Most of them are either actors or acting. Adjacent one is a surgeon. One of the men is a surgeon but it really explorers how we love each other but we can hurt each other. And i am finding it really interesting examination of relationships. It is not super plot driven. I feel like it's more of a character study. But i mean there is plod but in there are things that you're working toward but it's really funny because in my book club the passable books that we've read i have. They were okay in this. I am just loving. But i'm finding that i'm opposite of most members of the book club. They are not liking. This one is much. But i just think it's great. I think at where. I am right now my life. I really appreciate the examination of how hard life can be sometimes in how much we love each other thirty other in even though we might love being parents and partners in all that that sometimes it's just hard you have to figure out how you make it through those things. I mean. it might be the right book at the right time. But i just. I'm really enjoying the complex relationships. And the law that is the underlying the relationship between these two couples. And i really think it's great so i'm excited to see how it ends but i think the ride. I think this is one where the journey is going to be as fulfiling as the destination. So i'm just really liking it and i think it's great on audio. I actually was able to get it from my library on audio. I have the hard copy book..

"The latest edition of the audible presented by traderjoes. I'm bruce feldman joined by my colleague stewart. Mandel and stu this weekend we have actual games. It is officially week zero week and the biggest game of all for at least are week. Zero is going to be illinois and nebraska kicking it all off and what better way to get. It started before we get into the mail bag and get into stews. Big ten predictions when it talked to an actual big ten expert is former ohio state star. Linebacker joshua perry from big ten network. Who was out on the road and visited every big ten program in camp and has a lot of insight. We're really glad that he has found time to join us today. On the autumn we are pleased. Joined now by joshua perry from the big ten network. You remember him from ohio states. Twenty fourteen national championship team now is part of that crew at bt and with Dave revson gerry. Dinardo howard griffith and we love the every preseason. We love checking with you guys because you get to go to all fourteen schools. See what's going on during preseason camp and larry on zoom right now and you're in your car. I did not realize you guys don't have the bus this year. How how is this tour. Working exactly yes. We are bus lifts so we have been just kind of doing it the way you would do it. Hopping on planes getting in cars even thought about taking a train at one point to get from. Stop to stop. This has not been without issues though and in some of them started early on we had some trouble leaving our third stop Were coming from wisconsin. We're supposed to be heading east lansing. There was some weather had a flight. Issue ended up making that a drive In then we pulled a similar thing when we were leaving Ah believe penn state and set. It happened on the plane that was getting delayed. We drove to rutgers which wasn't a bad drive And then we had the weekend at home some leaving columbus and in heading over to purdue right now which is about a four hour trip so able to manage to figure out and it's been fun gets a lot of different things that we obviously didn't get to see last year in preseason so it's really insightful so you are basti i was as people know. You're a great player at ohio state. And you've been with me for a little while now get to eyeball teams in camp. Give us like maybe your two. Or three biggest whoa. I didn't expect that from getting to see some of these programs. Yeah i mean that's a wonderful question. I think it starts with minnesota. Who is our most recent stop. So maybe that's a little bit of recency bias but we just had no idea what to expect from that team after twenty twenty Because they had so many issues ads as out for kobe. Issues terror morgan. Their quarterback had some family issues that he was dealing with. And i know it's not easy to play football when you're dealing with some outside issues but especially the the quarterback position In so we didn't know if they were going to be more what we saw in two thousand nineteen or what we saw on twenty twenty. And i can tell you right now. I think it's more two thousand nineteen i think. Ten or morgan is going to be a lot better. They've got ten guys on defense. Who played a lot last year and a lot of those guys weren't supposed to play. They look really good. I think they're going to be strong. They're both lines of scrimmage are just look in. I can't even describe it like they've got real guys out there physically So i think they're going to be good. The other one was indiana just because of the same kind of curiosity. Are they going to be able to continue. This upward trend that they've had over the last couple of seasons and the answer is yes and for two reasons number one They've got plenty of talent but number two. That's a coaching staff. That has standards. they're demanding they know how to teach And they're going to coach the best out of players so if they have any issues. This year won't be for lack of coaching or lack of talent. I think it's a really well. Put together program. The final one. We'll get to see them in week. Zero is illinois and we're leaving big ten media days. That was the spot where i said. I'm the most curious because he had no idea what things were going to look like. You could gas based off. What bret bielema has done in the past. You didn't know. And they've got a veteran quarterback who is a very talented player. Who probably makes a few too many mistakes. And he's got tight matt up. They're going to be good. Along the lines of scrimmage. I love the what they have at running back. I think they've got really good linebackers But their x. Factor is bret bielema. Got to spend time around bill. Checking the nfl. And if there's one coach you want to spend some time around from the nfl. that guy. And i think he picked up some really good habits. i think he really understood What what. Bill does as a coach and how he thinks about the game differently and he's trying to give that to his team. So those three teams minnesota indiana illinois. Really kind of sit outs me okay. I'm immediately regretting my three and nine pick for the alliance. Whoops twenty twenty two super seniors. Right yeah lost with twenty two six. Well okay so if those three schools and and certainly illinois in minnesota could get a lot better record wise indiana. You're saying might be even better. Somebody's gotta take a step back. Who who would that be. Yeah i mean that's it's tough right here in jazz. The question of course. I'm a buckeyes so people are going to say. Of course he says at. but yes. The question about michigan and They've got a new defensive coordinator in a new system that they're trying to implement. I think there's still a question of is the offense going to be more josh gaddis or is it going to be more. Jim harbaugh They've got mcnamara. Who's going to be starting football games and i. I think that he is a very good. Starting level College quarterback he's a guy who maybe isn't the most flashy on tape. I think he's a smart player. Who's gonna limit mistakes. Which is something that they need. They've had a lot of mistakes of that position But you you leave there feeling like this.

joshua perry bruce feldman Dave revson gerry Dinardo howard griffith ohio illinois bret bielema Mandel stu morgan nebraska stewart lansing minnesota rutgers larry indiana wisconsin columbus kobe

He came in here on a mission to do exactly what was asked of and the be baker when gold medal there in canada with the us team. Christmas is one of the leaders realizing that every time he touches the puck. He doesn't have to try to score a goal there. There's plays to be made to to help your team which plays to be made to make your teammates better and if you watch the plays as made in the playoffs. He used using his teammates. Maybe as well as anyone on that team and that to me is really exciting. As twenty year old player to be able to come in there and recognized. Look tampa bay in dallas. They have legitimate the floor and for that matter to they have legit advantages through their tax situation. Seattle's have another one. They don't have a state tax matters and it matters so you can say to someone. Hey look you're gonna be a free agent you're gonna make seven million dollars a year. We think on the open market but here. It's six forty two million and that's not even a haircut. That's just the difference in st. Pat's i mean the musicals. Numbers facetiously. I don't i don't have the tax gap in front of me. But those are legit advantages. This is not as cut and dry as people think but the players or using their influence. They're using their voice a lot more than they have in the past. And i think the teams have to do the same thing like kay. This is the way it is. You don't wanna play. Don't sit at home and you don't get paid and i'm not treating you not at this point unless the right deal comes to me so sick. They're russ growing your skates but in the meantime if you wanna come back come back and play that way we can get something for you you can fluff your trade value and maybe there's a deal down the road. Well we're talking buffalo and we'll shift over to coaching here. But i don't see any way that i comes back. Just based on how conversations around kevin adams that regressed heated up in the last number of days jackals he. He's gonna get traded so now just think of complications of that jackals a tremendous talent. What's his name. What's that neck areas fine area like. What's it gonna be like maude all five. If you're asking me for your top young prospects your first round pick a roster player and another play. And i've got to give you that and i don't know what the long range you wis. I need to have a little more certainty if i'm the acquiring team and that's going to be a complication not deal. No question big coaching news. This week. Right odd brindamour gets a three year extension with the carolina hurricanes on the same day. He wins the jack adams and gerard gone hired by the new york rangers. To get is that i. I don't think anyone expected rod brind'amour's gonna leave the gains so your thoughts and his extension now in winning the jack adams over some buddies of yours in edison was strong in the mix and a second. Joel quenneville finished third jerry. Bednarz four might sullivan. V but hard argue with jack. Adams going to rod brind'amour's no i. What a terrific job. He's done in carolina. Sometimes the coaches the looks like the right fit in the right place. And that's what rod looks like in in carolina. When i'm watching those postgame things his speeches unreal when. I'm watching him behind the bench. I'm like man. I would love to have played for him That's my first thought. All time like how could you not be connected to play for him. And there'll be days when you wanna play for him and you're like oh my god. He is asked today like he's hard today..

"There's there's no questioning that the depth of the organization for me though and correct me. If i'm wrong is out their weakness. I mean is chandler. Stevenson a bona fide number one center in the national hockey league. Or if he's your number two and and you've got somebody better are vegas. golden knights. Almost unstoppable at that point. I think the second way would be the way they would love to go. Here's the thing in the cap world. Goods aren't for anybody not to have a weakness. Now had they been able to predict it. Marc andre fleury would return to this brilliant. Maybe they wouldn't have signed robin leonard to five million dollars to join the cap that gives you more room to get a different player. But it's just been a remarkable story. Flurry has been anyway. But yeah i would say that's the that's the achilles heel a little bit of their team. Well speaking of remarkable stories. We'll caufield nicks ziggy. The youth of the montreal canadian certainly doing their job as they continue to make their way through the semi final pony ground or the head. Coach of the wisconsin badgers former coach for coal. Coffee will join us. We'll talk about cool. We'll talk about his life. Experience with ray ferraro and the entire granato land some of the experiences. You guys shared playing against each other back in the day. So looking forward to tony's assessment might get a little light hearted or not. We'll see all the thing is like. Tony was like many players. That is a completely different person on the ice off. Yeah like he is a he is a tremendous person. He was vicious on the ice in. Don't let his demeanor fool. You is a super nice guy. he was vicious. Carve you with a smile. All he loved his stick was a weapon. It's awesome all right. We look forward to hearing from tony. Granato kubat. Chris will stop by lots to talk about with google that chris obviously with. Us open golf. Euro two thousand twenty shift in a playoff series in the stanley cup semifinals. All of that by the way social media was the buzz over the last few. And i don't you know. Sometimes you look through your reply. Sometimes you don't because you've done a nice job. I think managing your social media. You don't you don't pile on nearly as much as you used to. And that's by design right you know. It's it's mental health. You don't need to get pissed off at genoa. Drake's can i tell you a quick story. Yeah somebody had ripped me something. Which of course happens. It's the way it is and a went back at the guy and then the guy tweeted the next day. I've gotta take a break from social media. I can't i can't get my head around the.

"To talk about ray and we'll get the headlines coming up momentarily you look around the national act of the i dunno elbow you but i i guess i'm a little surprised at how tight the series ours. We're recording here on friday. You've got montreal. Earning the split with the vegas golden knights. You've got al of a series with the islanders in the tampa bay lightning. That is far more defensively in tune than what i was expecting me. And you know you're going to get that from the islanders by the tampa bay. Lightning pretty good defense team as well. Aren't they you know. I mean you look at point gets the go goal and in the second period and they basically shut down any of that from that series surprising you would have been before. But i think we saw last year drake's because they had the learn to play a different way it couldn't be five four all the time and you know stamkos steven stamkos said after the last game. Look we we just have total. Buy into what we need to do. And it's hard to play that way like if you're an offensive guy. It's hard to bury your instinct. Always tried to create offense. I'm i'm super impressed. Actually i think that series is unbelievable. What a horror series that is and and you could tell both coaches barry trotz and jon cooper predictably kicked in going into game three right because games one game two. There was all the after. Whistle stuff scrum after scrum and you could just tell that the officiating at some point was going to was gonna take over and start pulling one guy who guys out of the scrums right. Sa- game three seem to be far different than game. Two as an example all everybody was was more check with their emotion. I think yeah i. I think you're looking at half of the canadian coaching staff for the olympic team. Some way shape or form. Do terrific coaches What i'm interested in for game four is not much happening with.

"To this way. She made have decided that like even though she's your close friends she has decided like okay. This is who i want to be with all the time. And there's no having that conversation. Yeah it's also different when 'cause she even says in here that she's single. Because i feel like. I think that's probably the angle where they'd be like. Oh just because you're jealous not it either. I think you should have. The conversation was like hey have noticed that now when you hang out with me only hang out with your boyfriend as well as it. Is that something that you do consciously is it because you don't wanna hang out with me alone and actually have that conversation asked the question without being a jerk about it just be like. Is this something like you know. That's funny all my female friends of i'm thinking of i think want to get away from their people at times like i've never had to be like. Could he not come but we but it is fun to do stuff double dating but then it's not with you and the other friends say the nice revolt. I think it's good to just tell. I think you can also ask people like sometimes with lauren. Say like it's kind of implied. It's just like girls day. You know we right. But i think i said guys day it's guys day guy and then you can bring your wife or girlfriend want jack to come to everyday. It's not even that. I don't like the other people it's like. Sometimes you just want to have a day. That's like you're not thinking about like you know all also it's like if you're having a day where you're hanging out with your guy friends and then you pay an over in like the girl sitting on the guy's lap and they're like kissy-faced like it does change the dynamic. It does change the way that people talk in the room. It does change the way that we're feeling. How are we supposed to talk about our fares. Today's anyway i have. I have another. It's almost like same situation different perspective. Which is i have a friend who whose girlfriend never wants to hang out with me. And i feel it. I feel it. I feel like she doesn't like me or something. And this is one of your good friends. Yeah and you knew him before her. Oh yeah. I've known him for many many years and I can tell his girlfriend like they never hang out with me like they never make plans with really. Yeah and i'm like never have a falling out. No did you have sex with her to no no But it's funny because they'll hang out with other friends They won't hang out with me. And i'm like i even said something i actually said. Hey is there an issue. Is there something that i did. Because i i know that. Like when given the opportunity she never ever is around when you and around like you. Never bring her. Yeah and we never. You'd never make plans with me and her and she never. It's just it's a weird thing it's like okay. I kind of felt like it's okay. She doesn't like me. And that's that's fine. But then he's like not no no that's not it at all it's not at all i'm like well again. It is weird. You know two thousand. Twenty one fucking. Yeah miss pig. They're gonna follow you. Follow them harder. God right they're gonna take it high. You take it as low as you. Isn't that the new michael. Michelle obama michael honey. Don't get on this. you're going. You're going to get banned from podcasts. I know people do. People are getting being from podcast. A podcast especially in australia and other countries are getting banned for giving false covert information. Well yeah i mean misinformation. But i would never talk about like beautify out and how that helps in vitamin zinc. God never well. It's been episode has been great. Having been our last episode ever lasting is that. I don't like i think i don't want you to ever hang out with any of your girlfriends. If you ever get a girlfriend. I like hanging out with like. I like britney separate. I like everyone's separate little tupperware containers. Okay well it's exhausting your exhausting you make it hard because you know it's funny your your boyfriend just wrote me. Did you know that. God help your no help. Get me outta here. I'm in the trunk. No he said a very nice thing he said. I love your new photo account. I really think they're amazing I love you. And i was like dude. You're amazing thank you. I love you too. I want that to happen without me. Your photo account is actually really good. We both thank you. It's also it's very nice. When like in private. Jack and i are like we both had nothing but good things to say. It was trying to dog. And that's really nice. You're very i mean. we already knew. This is what you went to school for. This is very good but it's very. You're very talented. And i love your photos and a good eye and your photos tell story. I think what. I was noticing is. I started instagram account. It's actually called lower case. I that's lower case e. y. e. and What it is is just the photography that i take taken the in the world either strategy and fashion photography and i was finding that it was getting lost in my regular account. Yeah because it's a hodgepodge. Like exactly and i was like you know. I need to take this seriously because it is something that's important to me. I have thousands of photos. I've taken and some of it's very abstract and some of. It's like very obvious. And i don't know i just wanted to new place for so i started it and i put myself on a schedule as like every day. I'm going to post awesome. I always look at them and a lot of the photos feature beautiful women. And i'm like i feel like he'd being this one. Okay.
