Oklahoma City Thunder Embarrass Boston Celtics
"Special guest tonight, tonight is Jeff Goodman. And before we get to his latest zesti, take on Joe Brown which we will a little bit later in the show. We just want to welcome him to the Garden report. Post game show and Jeff will give you first bite at the Apple. It's I don't know how many times we're going to say worst loss ever because it feels like we've said it a lot. It's hard to not bother. It's hard to not tell this the worst loss ever. This is so this Jeff they work. They were atrocious and embarrassment but I don't listen, I don't care that Jayson. Tatum and Kemba Walker didn't play. I do care because I think Jason should have been out there. I don't know how bad the injury is, or whatever, is dealing with public. And it came like this, you gotta be out there. This is what 11/12 games left in the regular season. You needed this win, you could ill afford a loss like this, but even without Tatum and Kemba last name. They were without shade gilgeous-alexander, and they stink, they absolutely stink. They're trying to tank they've got a garbage team other than Lou door and you lost. You had supposedly Dead one of the top 25 players in the NBA in jail and Brad. I thought, Oh, supposedly. And it starts now, you mean using all subjects, you mean you're not lose. That's the supposedly Factor know. It's, it's true. Jeff look. I think they rolled the dice on Tatum thinking we could get away with tonight and still squash out the window. And so we needed to give him a day off. Let's pick the game and they pick this one on the back to back on the front, end of a back-to-back, and it burned him obviously. And I don't think he's, I don't think he's hurt but I mean, I get it doesn't matter. Like I watched this whole game, I've not watched to Oklahoma City games this year, I still can't name a player on their team

Los Angeles Lakers Defeat Orlando Magic to Pick up Much-Needed Win
"Talk about the Lakers getting this win, over the Orlando Magic. We're going to dive into it here. You know, it's a 114-2103 win but this game was a lot closer through most of it than we were comfortable with. I mean the Lakers won the fourth quarter, 35 223 off but up until that point, the magic actually took the lead in the second the Lakers lost the second quarter 4222 It was ugly, it looked like there were in full control. They're up by 12 coming out of the first quarter and then they kind of took their foot off the gas. Pedal in Orlando, surged, they got things moving forward on Thursday and this is the danger. This is the danger. When you're playing up against a bad team when you're playing them and you'll get out to an early lead and then you take your foot off the gas pedal suddenly that team comes up and they get confidence, you get a bad team, suddenly having these visions of putting together their best win of the season, their biggest win of the season if you take down the reigning defending 17 time a champions That is very much a landmark night for an Orlando Magic team that is tanking. Not only are they taking but they're also missing a ton of players due to injury their coaches and even their home because of covet. Don't have their coach and they're missing all these players and you suddenly give a team like that hope. When you come out in the second quarter of the way the Lakers did and that certainly made people a little bit uneasy, and I will say now he's asking Ron government. That's right. Before we, we had our issues. I don't think I ever felt like, okay, the Lakers are really going to lose this game. I don't think that that thought really crossed my mind. There was a few times where I thought. Yeah, if they lose, if they were to lose this or chat is going to go ballistic about that, that was certainly a thought of my head but I didn't feel like the Lakers were ever totally. Out of control. Felt like when they needed to they would flip the switch and turn it on and they certainly did in this one particularly in the fourth quarter but you would have liked to have seen it just go wire-to-wire and beat a bad

So I wasn't giving myself any love or support it wasn't moving my body in any kind of restorative. Way, you know the only movement I was doing was running from office to Labor and delivery to baby, and that is very stressful. That is not good movement. So you know. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, I had a back injury and it it took me out in. That is the fine. The defining moment where I realized I need to take care of myself and. It's it's sad that it took something. So drastic right like putting me at a commission where I physically can't get out of bed. Make me change my ways but it was so ingrained in me that as -sition you care for others you put everyone else I you don't worry about yourself. And I think that's true for just women in general. But finally having to stop and take care of myself with super eye opening and I realized that if I can do it if I can figure out how to set boundaries changed my job so that I have time for lunch that I get some sleep at I move on a regular basis that nourish my soul all of these things than I can help other women do the same right you know. I went forever without going to church because I was always on call I was always missing church every Sunday and when I finally put. "I'll get to practice. I may have a back injury. You're just growing older. Maybe the the inevitable change that steers me out of that hobby in in into something else. Those are the endings that that I see the and that I anticipate some of which are very uncomfortable to think about because they're going to be painful and you know then of course there's the eventual loss of my own life and the lives of of all those that I know and I love and the truth is that I used to be really scared of the pain involved with these inevitable losses but through practicing mindfulness in through studying Buddhist teachings what I've come to understand is that the fear of the pain is what has been lost. That's what has gone away I. It's interesting I feel like we all somehow somehow seem to grasp this notion that life gives us very painful and uncomfortable experiences at times especially when we're talking about loss and we don't want to feel that pain and I don't think any of us are sitting around thinking. Oh maybe there's this magic thing I can do that will oh prevent all all bad things from happening. I'll never have to experience the loss of a loved. We don't do that. We don't think that but we do somehow think will. Maybe there's this magic thing that if I can do it then it won't hurt so bad that to me is where the disconnect is because it doesn't matter.

There's something called Remote deep possession Which is pretty interesting? There's actually a free. PDF books that you can read And I would say. "Teams that love him and others are just going to avoid them completely because of the back injury and you know we're going to look back on five years from now five years from now will look back and go man they made the right choice either by taking him or voiding him and you know the the draft is littered with players like that and teams like that brad in north carolina joins us this morning hi brad how are you dan how are you got a bit of it correspondence piece for you you refer to your procedure yesterday as root canal surgery and i've got to tell you as a territory manager for a ended on at company where all i do is work with ended honest dentist on canal we refer to that in the field is root canal treatment and not surgery teams that you are pulling a little bit of a fruitful on that one brand you weren't there for my root canal well dan did they make any incisions for their stitches them all there were no stitches there was an incision with a drill through hard tissue correct yes yes so that would be a ken to basically getting the cavity fill just a little beaver there was a medevac helicopter involved in this brad does that change no no it does not know although i must say if if there were multiple routes in the in the tooth if there were a molar if you were fritzy you would consider each of those thank you brad i thought i had surgery it felt like surgery the get will cards from my family had to do with surgery yes boeing i've never have root canal but i'd say root canal could be underrated because you're both awake and there's a high level of pain most surgeries you're asleep for and you don't feel the pain of the procedure you feel the after effects so i think i'd rather have surgery than root canal i like if you told me i could get arthoscopic knee surgery or root canal i've had arthroscopic surgery i know what you get i think i might take that i don't wanna root canal well i didn't wanna root canal but i needed a root canal and you know the other thing is and i've had both of these so the arthroscopic it can take me a long time to recover from that whereas the root canal you know you just suck it up you know a shot of whiskey go in and go do the surgery and i mean that's what i asked for it they said do you want me to numb this up and i said no i brought some wisk here that's all i need treatment yes of course yes mclovin by way on the list of jobs they get you girls if you walk into a bar i work with enter don insurance for that is low cleaning clean house i advise entered on on different fiscal okay how would.

"So for him generally for glaucoma a black background with white tax works well because it reduces the glass and so that was one solution for the glass and then magnification allowed him to sit further back from the computer screen so he wasn't having to get into that position where his head was up against the screen and it was causing trouble his neck and so that's also provided another solution some of the things which might be a little bit more out of the box you'll be saved i want to talk about some of those solutions for this gentleman standing up was preferable to sing down because of his neck issues and so i already talked about a standing desk another thing which could be useful would be a hand held monopoly basically a telescope so he could stand up somewhere in the boom and uses menaka focus in on the computer screen and that would give him another potential position in which to view the computer screen i'm so that was another good solution a another one that we had sounds very simple but being technologist it's always the type of thing that i would automatically think of is having somebody available to read the questions from the computer screen to you that way you can be anywhere in the womb listen to the questions you apply to them now he's still would be required to look at images of you know patients with various skin diseases and things like that so he said well would have to look at the computer screen to some extent but it would be vastly reduced and so that was another potential solution there's probably many many other things which could be done and this is obviously wouldn't specific example but i guess the point is that you know if you do have physical issues whether that be you are we'll chat bounds or you have a neck injury or a back injury or something like that which prevents you from kind of you know staying in one position all makes it awkward to get to you know particular device that you want to use with a little bit of thoughts there is going to be a solution that.

"It's true and i i just had a little back injury and have been the recipient of care which i have to say as a caregiver is really a hard thing to do she nickel when the tables are turned it's it's difficult but you have specifically around this issue of pathological altruism this actually affects many women whose identities are actually related to the act of giving care and who become very self harming in engaging in care in a way that causes harm to to their own lives so the the work of michael mcgrath so this is one of the edge so that you know another edge state is what is commonly called burnout or vitald exhaustion and it's when a caregiver or someone at a university was a teacher or wherever is not able to actually establish correct agreements in boundaries with the institution for whom there working and as a result of that become completely depleted i don't know anyone like no not common at all no and another one is secondary trauma org vicarious trauma and that is just being exposed to people who are suffering say you know your person who works in the end of life care field or you're a person who is a chaplain in the military where you're hearing these terrible stories of of pain and suffering and violence and abuse and it begins to get you and so you suffered these effects vicariously that are similar to what people suffer when they come back from the war and you know what i was thinking as i was reading this is it.

"Uh so i think there's two ways you can look at you could you could do sumo uh in the in the pretext that reduces final sheer but then you have to think about what pathology are prone to problems because of spine sheer if you've got this could dri that's more likely affliction injury so that you've put incentive shearer you've you've flex just bonds that's more of a bending moments as opposed to a sheer force were sheer force sideways and bending is bending so for example i have spawned with isis in mice in my in my back now i've been doing conventional does lifts for years and because i advocate a straight back i keep a straight back and i've just gotten stronger in its in its helped might back pain because of my spouse as small isis so i'm not a big believer in d d exercise itself being damaging or not as long as you keep to technically good form two conventional doubt lift isn't potential back injury but if you're doing it with correct form it will strengthen the muscles around back so you don't put yourself into the bad positions so i would perhaps argue that the the position for it the best thing for this uh this judgement to do would be to perhaps concentrate on keeping a neutral spine may be raising the bar off the grounds until he can get into a comfortable position with his hip sneeze back.

"Greece used up pasco first and last the podcast that i've not heard no installment musaga that is tap water in the nfl it seemed to find its way into the news every day this week because we sit here kinda teetering on the edge of things right we can look over we could see the bottom of this we could see where it goes but we're sitting right there on the edge right now at a balancing act can continues to shift back and forth when this first popped up and we finally got that quarterback injury that we seem to think was going to be at the centre of all this without okay this is finally going down this this is what the last straw that was going to break the camel's back in all of this this is going to be finally that place where a team who forget just facing the prospect of your starting quarterback dealing with a lower back injury won that could be particularly volatile one that can be difficult to negotiate on its own right because backs finicky place you've got coupled with that the fact that the backup quarterback in this part to me is even more important part is that as you've had to put your backup quarterback in the spotlight had to shine some light on that situation ultimately you found out that that guy might not be up to the task in a way that colin kaepernick potentially is or at least what we know about him the body of work there that far exceeds anything we've seen for brian now it on any stage and has certainly been backed up by his practice performance so far in what we've seen from him.
