"Doing? What's the next step? Many of them get charged from their mission president. They get a charge to go home and start their education. And this is a perfect opportunity for young return missionaries. Matter of fact, a fun little story with the pandemic when the church recalls. Is that the right word? Brought a lot of the missionaries home in March and April and May of 2020. We were able to send a message out to all returning missionaries and say you can start with BYU pathway, like effective immediately. And we enrolled several thousand missionaries during that first phase of the pandemic. Love it. But a fun thing that we've watched over time, 95% of our return missionaries who are in pathway in the pathway and pathway connect. Are still active three years after their mission. Wow. Wow. And then the other thing that we did to incentivize return missionaries, we have a return missionary scholarship. If you start BYU pathway within 5 years of coming home, you get an automatic 25% reduction to your tuition. Wow. Just for being a return missionary. And we've seen some tremendous growth. Wow, a lot of incentives there. That's right. I would imagine because there's maybe some uncertainty as a return missionary comes home. I need to go to college at some point. I don't know. I go into the workforce. And there's this feeling of like, if I start something, I have to finish it. But I would imagine someone could come and why don't you try pathway out for a year. And just see how it goes or 6 months or whatever it is. At least it's something. And maybe just go get one certificate. That's right. Type of thing. And we've seen tremendous success internationally. Many of these international students from these struggling countries and struggling economies that have lived well that have done well as a missionary and they're going home to nothing. And now the mission president can say elder sister when you go home, you start path, BYU pathway right away. And it gives them something to look forward to and to continue that spiritual and personal growth of that young manual woman needs..

A Space for Mom's to Be More Than 'Just Moms' With Mom Halo Founder, Alana Kayfetz
"Halo which was previously known as moms. Te'o mom's toronto was to me like an act of desperation. When i was looking for my girls crew is looking for moms to like connect with and everywhere i went like people didn't talk to each other. It was really weird dynamic. I come from a twelve year history of a community builder. Fundraiser working nonprofit sector. Have always sort of been a gatherer of people and organizer of stuff so i was looking for my crew and i couldn't really find them so i had just moved into the neighborhood. We live now. I'm a young mom. I have my babies. Maybe five months old and i just like flew out on a local facebook page. I'm okay. I'm looking for some moms. Who wanna come over to my house to just maybe hang out at byu. Ob bring your babies. Your boobs in your bottles and bottles met lake. I was obviously like your your baby bottle. Your wine bottle. Hello whatever that was in two thousand. Sixteen that i thought was really clever. And lo and behold like nineteen random. Women's showed up to my like my matchbook cows. They're like i remember. This french canadian woman was like what's the catch. What are you trying to sell me on. Like absolutely nothing. My husband is a retired shops. Like beautiful feud we had like twelve bottles of wine. And we just. I had this aha moment of like moms. Just want to have their identity. Were their moms and also have a baby on everything. Baby baby baby all the time so. I really leaned in hard to this leg putting mom i like baby on the head wide on the lab. That's how it came. In to be. Rene then i remember that year. That was a really cool event in toronto that i really want to go to. It was like a very busy like food and beverage event. And i want to wear my white dress and i wanted to shut my baby with me and i went to go buy tickets. It was like a three hundred dollars ticket and the like. I'm sorry you can't come into nineteen event. I was like my baby is in a stroller. Like you can't bring the baby after this shit. I'm gonna create an event that looks and feels as beautiful as boozy. That's food and beverage where women can bring their baby. And that's how the first ever very mommy wine festival came to be with this like really leaning hard into finding a place where moms could come be themselves have a glass of wine and hang out with their babies fast forward years later and that's secretion of our community now which is now known as the mom halo. We pivoted hard because we realized we were serving women with our virtual digital content that we're like very much outside of the greater toronto area so very canadian following and we still sort of hit hard with i would say epa content. That's both virtual. We are in person really fun and it's not about why right. It's on about getting drunk and being fraternity girls. It's about permission right. It's about giving moms permission to say it's okay for you to be both. You can love being mom behaving mom. You can exercise five days a week. If that's your thing not my thing but if that's your thing and you wanna drink on the weekends that's your thing like just do you like whatever you is just

"Football just has not been consistently historically good enough and seven straight bowl games okay. There's including a new year's six bowl. There's like forty three caves so the bowl game stat conference champions okay. Well that's that's something And then i don't know how much let me let me because i'm just being like here's the here's the truth. Memphis historically is a terrible football program. Well you said it was terrible. Okay yes once. They committed financially to the program started throwing money at it built an indoor facility and making good hires i justin point day than mike norville now ryan. Silver field to previous coaches are now the head coach at virginia tech and florida state wants memphis got a president and an athletic director who understood the value of football of competent quality football and they invested in it. Memphis has been one of the better football programs in america. Alabama ohio state. I'm not being silly. Here but memphis has been one of the better programs in the acc played for multiple championships like in the title game and won it once and and they have drawn at a group of five level as well better than most in as well as just about anybody. So i get it like houston is also a good football program in the president or it has been in recent years cincinnati in the present. Ucf incredible campus in florida big enrollment humongous enrollment. Yes i get it. I wouldn't necessarily say. It is crazy for the big twelve to pick these for schools over memphis but i it memphis checks and a lot of boxes including fedex corporate sponsorship. I i can just tell you the people in memphis. We're working hard to try to get involved in this. It obviously did not work. I'm not saying it's a mistake for the big twelve to not take memphis but it is devastating for memphis to not be taken by the big twelve. There is no getting around. I was hey this devastating. But let's i'll ask you this question. I will also answer it though if you throw memphis in which forty you kick out. But that's the problem. I don't think it's obvious i don't. I don't think it's obvious. That's why i'm not sitting here. And saying they made a mistake. A lot of people have said they made a mistake. Mike de coursey. Our friend from the sporting news has said that you know the big twelve is making mistake. Not taking memphis. I respect that opinion. i understand it but when you say okay but you gotta pull one of these out to put memphis in. It's not obvious to me which one would pull out. That's just me being honest with. Yeah if i had to pick. I probably picked cincinnati. If you made me pick one that would probably be even. That's not easy. I mean cincinnati. Again we're talking about a top ten to twelve all time. Men's basketball program in the history of the sport the football program's doing very well very nicely located Historically not a great football program but you mentioned memphis is terrible. I read off. Were those football programs. According to the ap were all-time memphis was not in the top. One hundred percents. Ucf barely cracked up one hundred since he was eighty two. I don't know how much media markets really matter. But i do know they matter. I mean daily when decisions i this made. There's a lot of things that get taken into consideration enrollment. Ucf will now have the largest enrollment any big twelve school with the exodus of oklahoma and texas. We're talking like fifty thousand plus they're enrolled at ucf. So that's that's major your ability to have an obviously memphis has this but Significant donors boosters. I'm talking billionaires connected to your program that can that can help from an infrastructure standpoint. That means a lot your history. How well you can draw eyeballs. Obviously here the media market rankings according to nielsen among the cities where the programs are based houston. Houston's the no brainer number eight orlando were. Ucf is number eighteen byu which has a significant media market number thirty in salt lake city. Also the mormon population. I've been told that that's not an insignificant thing. More than five percent of the of the nation's population identifies as mormon and that also Went a long way also. byu tv which. I understand a lot of people may not be familiar with apparently is gets like for what it it gets really really good viewership and so that was also taken into consideration media market. Cincinnati is thirty seven. And then there's a little bit of a drop-off memphis comes in nationally at number fifty one and then the other school that i think would have deserved a really good look and did get a good look but didn't get it ultimately really good program boise number one. Oh two in media market would have been geographically the furthest away. It didn't quite make the cut. Their what memphis needed. I think yes for the big twelve to not want. Byu for whatever reason you might not want byu uh-huh or for byu to not want to join the this league in football for whatever reason byu wouldn't want to join this league in football memphis needed byu and the big twelve to be unable to reach an agreement. And then i think they might have observed emphasized the word might of might have been odor better shot but once. Byu's in and you and your byu to your point is a national brand like it is it it is. It's a big brand so once. Byu's in you take in three more. You can reasonably argue.

Byu then tesla than saic gm. Which is the joint venture in china of general motors and volkswagen in fourth place. About six thousand behind tesla
BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston Considered Top Candidates for Big 12 Expansion
"A report out this afternoon at Ucf could be headed to the big twelve. I know you're there to do the game. Let that potentially could really have a lot of the effects especially with texas and oklahoma. What what do you make out of that report. That has ucf byu let me. I'm trying to remember. Who else is in that. Cincinnati and houston in that. Yeah lucky me. You just rattled off one powerful independent byu a couple of group of five schools cincinnati. A lot of people think for a playoff spot this year because the schedule and then. Ucs tonight pot. You know gus malzahn. Well i spoke with him yesterday. As part of our coaches call. And it's no secret. Malzahn took this job because he was one a good fit for him but to hey knows that. Ucf is on the verge getting out of that group of five corridor and getting into power. Five football dan stand that the the winds are change. You're going to happen every year. We talked playoff expansion to twelve teams which would benefit. Ucf gus malzahn cincinnati. Luke fickle until. I'm not surprised in the least bit that. Ucf is coveted spot wide. Because it's the state of florida smack down to the central their orlando. There's a lot of talent this team who's is gonna feel tonight has a ton of talent. And so look it's it makes sense if you're in the big twelve and you just lost taxes and you just lost oklahoma. We're going to sit here and say that you're going to replace those brands with cincinnati. Ucf byu in houston but you do get a couple of teams that together can stop that bleeding just enough to still compete and steal it. Pretty competitive conference

"Community and also a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. And so. i'm first of all so thrilled that you are here. And you would take the time to talk to me on short notice. no thanks. That's a pleasure to be here. Said it's a good topic to yeah so the reason why i have you. Melinda on here today is because. I called my mom and wanted to discuss the talk that jeffrey r holland just gave at byu to all of the faculty called the second half of the second century so in this talk there a lot of things. That are stirring up controversy in within the community that you and i are both part of People who are members of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints people who have attended or are going to attend or maybe have children who are going to attend. Byu and just a lot of people because elder holland talk specifically about members of our community whether that's byu or in our church who identify as lgbtq or lgbtq. I a plus but just for for the purpose of our conversation. I think we'll just say lgbtq. So do you want to explain. 'cause i don't want to say anything wrong and you know how your children identify. Do you want to explain why this topic is so hits close to home for you. Yes so i have to gay sons one. We probably guessed he was gonna come out gay his whole life and when he did he finally come out. It was a suicide attempt. He was going to school down at view and it was very dramatic and very sad and he just knew if he he could pray the gay away and it never happened for him and he was very sad and reading handled it as best as we could at the time what we knew and we gave the old line specially from the lds church. This is a choice and we're just gonna love yemen. It's choice than we sense to a lot of education and a lot of time spent on our knees in prayer and discussion. We've learned it's not a choice that he just gets to be. Land gets to be and we love him he since married to a man who has two children that they come into our family so they we have beautiful couple. Same sex married couple two grandchildren because about and then side years after land came out are returned. Missionary son came out and this one kid us out of the blue. You had no idea. No stereotypical indications nothing. Like that. And it was really. It was really crazy but we did by then. Our thoughts and our knowledge around the whole subject was much clearer and understanding around it and we just said the true. Hey we're just gonna love you wherever this takes you. And i really feel like the lord knows all of us and he knows me and my heart but he also knows that means he knows my kids hearts to. He knows their challenges. He knows but they're great at you know the kind. They aren't heels all of that. And so having these two algebra two kids. Who's really put me into this. Arena like fulltime. We hate this. We sleep this. We drink it re talk about a ton since both came out the gold since left. They'll church because it was really difficult for them to find a place in the church and that hurt my heart but i totally understood it and anyone that needs took away from this church. I just have compassionate grace for that. But you and your husband are still in the church. But i want to stay church. I wanna stay in. Yeah so i choose to stay in the church and so i'm trying to find reasons and get spiritual confirmation of life. That's important to me to stay here. Yeah and i think it's important to note that not everyone that listens to my podcast is a member of our church but i think this is applicable for a lot of christians who maybe have these internal struggles with wanting to be super loving inclusive but also identifying with whatever doctrine they feel is true and right so today. We're going to kind of talk about this talk. And how it affected you and your thoughts and your perspective which i'm really really excited to hear and when i called my mom she actually didn't tell me anything that you guys talked about so this is going to be one hundred percent new to me. She just said simply. Maunder has an incredible perspective. She's very educated in this and she really she always has really wise things to say when it comes to these things to kind. She is kinda. But i'm happy to talk about my thoughts around this okay so just to also set the stage. I think for anyone who's listening. I would say and this can probably be the one of the only pieces of advice that i'm going to give is to make sure you actually listen to the talk. I i read the talk. And i feel like it hit different when i listened to it and i think that there's so much lost tone and feeling if you just read the words so i read it once on monday night and then i've listened to it yesterday and again today so listening to it and really digesting. That way was different from me. But i would love to hear from you how this how it affected you. And what your initial reaction was right. Well i was actually really sad. Just because i always feel like at church takes two steps forward and then one step back so there's like a one step back but then i had to really stop and think okay. Who was the speech for. This is not a general conference talk. This is not a general membership speech. This is for a private institution..
Hawaii LDS School Removes Student’s God-Given Agency
"So you are. Lds and the the kind of intersection here is very interesting because in the lds community. I would imagine that having hesitancy towards massa pharmaceutical intervention is a belief a lot of. Lds families have right. So how do they not grant you that medical exemption. i. I don't understand. I find that my health is my responsibility in your health. Is your responsibility right. So my heavenly father blessed me with the gift of agency. That was something. I was worn with something. I was given. I came here. And that's what i believe. I have agency and here in america were given liberty and it's the freedom to choose for ourselves so we have our agency in our liberty and that's not anyone take away from me as my own choice so for the school to say that. Oh i should just get a different vaccine or i get an mri vaccine. Because i should be fine. What how are you allowed to say that. But it's not your government taking that away or church sponsored school and that's where it's hard because i it's not the church but the church sponsors school so it's so it's confusing. You would think. At least. I would that of all places that would at least honor that kind of liberty would be an lds institution harsher and you appeal directly the president directly to the resume. Said no take your risk. You might've right. Thanks for shaw. Yeah and that was the hard part. And i do believe that. So it's not all kirk schools. Byu provo byu. I idaho and pathway. That's not something they've mandated but it is in

I thought my life is over as walking through pasta with my parents. One day i walked on the floor. And i remember the not walk. It was near fine. Was after you got a vaccine yet. So i got influence of and do you think that was the reason have so. That's what my medical providers. We're unsure. Because i got the influenza vaccine influenza and then i was paralyzed so you can get gps from having influenza or from the vaccine. So it's a little unclear was the vaccine. Personally yes because i. I think that's why got blue so i recovered from that which is seriously miracle. I relied on my feet. The whole time i knew heavenly father had plan for me. I said if he doesn't want me to walk again and if he has a plan from not the dance. So when i found out. Byu hawaii was going to be doing this. I reach out my medical providers and we decided yes that it was not a good idea for me to get back needed so. Byu hawaii came out saying that they would offer a medical or religious exemption and they made it seem very assessable. Those okay great all right out my exemption for him it'll all be fine. Whatever i submit it with my doctors my doctor's note than everything and i waited a month to hear back and they denied me a medical exemption and i was shocked to say the least. My whole family was like. Oh no it's fine like you're going to get it. You can't get back to nate. It's okay they're gonna let you in so as a big letdown. I decided to appeal this with my parents. Final 2021 NFL Draft Quarterback Rankings: Trevor Lawrence and Then What?
"So guys let's start off with the quarterbacks as this is probably the least eventful group especially because we just let mark handle this position group. Because that is his forte his speciality. We don't even really need to go through the ordering or anything specific with this one as we're going to do it the other position groups but the thing that's worth noting is it. Mark was highly reluctant to really go past mack jones and then after thinking it over he threw in kellyn mind. Davis mills kyle. Trask jamie newman. And that was pretty much it so i think we can all agree here that the quarterback class in in this year's nfl draft isn't exactly very good on the back end. There's a lot of really good talent at the top but as we start to push towards the second and third round like we don't even have a third rounder in this group. There's not really a lot of good options now. It doesn't really tier that way. Joe obviously you have the tran said quote unquote time trevor. Lawrence. and then. There's a lot of debate on who that actual second quarterback would be adjusted sales from ohio. State zack wilson from byu. Mac from alabama. It seems like the jets. Presume that zack wilson from byu. And i mean. There's a lot of rumors that three the san francisco forty niners are really all in on mac jones but we'll find that out next thursday. It's gonna be interesting. I mean outside of the top five quarterbacks in legit all five of them could go for the giants would be ideal for the new york giants. That would be absolutely but outside of those five. It's it's kind of a crap shoot between callum on. I'll trask davis mills. Yeah i actually wasn't surprised to of see the look of pain almost on mark's face when he had to we almost twisted his arm into throwing out his like second and fourth round quarterbacks. This is a very top heavy quarterback draft class and part of that could just be the position. Where if you've got a quarterback who is able to be accommodated starter. He's probably going to be a first rounder and probably a high first

Ibew gain ecstasy even Lsd in some cases and those are all drugs that can cause hallucinations or out of body experiences. Right right and most of them are not legal right but how do they work for depression. And all those other psychiatric conditions so ketamine for example is able to help a lot of people with major depression even when nothing else works about ten years ago i was able to talk to one of the first people to take part in a clinical trial ketamine. His first name is christopher. He asked me not to use his last name. Christopher had depression that made him so aside uil and before he got ketamine he had been prescribed just about every drug out there to treat his depression he told me it started with prozac and paxil and went onto klarna pen atta van zanex ramen gabba penton byu spar depakote. They had me on for a while. That is a long list and none of those helped him either. They didn't work or the side effects. Were so bad. He had quit taking them. "Or either everyone welcome to digital conversation inside host. Billy bates joined by david wilkinson chairman jeff phones and we'll be talking about the rebecca benchmark survey that we did in conjunction with the rope. Texoma last month. Dave extra data to do it was a super interesting study given. We're going to be blown away with findings yet. I think it's really interesting. Human doctoral roy did the mit study probably a decade ago. Now were together on putting this together for us So what was the objective with the study and a little bit of african doctoral great and i did a study looking response times on on. How quickly leads go cold. And so we had. I've been a lot of work together. He was teaching at mit. At the time. I think subsequently he's been at several universities teaching locally river secret. Byu so came to us. And said i'd like to actually analyze what's happening in the market around technology that supports this new growth title right so the one thing you shared with is there's a new title essential emerging in the market around growth rate growth revenue marketing revenue growth marketing title. Cheap doesn't said. Hey let's do a study to see what's the technology that supporting that more importantly i think what we're trying to understand was is it. Silence today was becoming the same thing. Let's kinda dig into a little bit of what we found before. Sure some of the methodology. I've got some notes is people doing. This went to the right or to the left. They'll know what i'm doing but the attended the we actually had a shockingly large number of respondents. We had almost nine hundred respondents survey today. That's that's a crazy number honestly yet. The reason we were able to to get such a large number is this was tied to your event Everyone that registered had the option to take the survey took anywhere to five minutes depending on how detailed you want to be But we went through. We were asking. Okay what are you guys use in the jags revenue technology. We broke it down the do of what we thought were the top ten. Kelly works and the findings were really interested. So yeah the categories were. We were looking. Well i think i have it here. Kind of standard categories. You'd expect so yes. See our marketing. Automation email marketing. Seo comes marketing compensation the usual stuff web optimization solution. Diligence sales may our sales automation like his aunt outreach. That's right and i think you'll see here soon. There's of the study. It's about probably seventy pages pretty pretty groovy study and there are fifty six charge. Ten of them are just the results of the questions. Eleven analyze the technologies used by region nine analyze based off the company size ten analyzed by industry and then ten really digging digging into what combinations are effective so again. The court rejected was to say what's happening in revenue related technology. And the kind of just hit that the key finding what we found was the revenue for sure. These technologies are being bundled together. You're using sales. Marketing technologies are no longer separate silos. Were seven and begin to intertwine and we call them couplings. There's lots of a revenue supporting technologies. That are both on the marketing side and sell

Cady had 22 Kyrie Irving had 26 in the wind caress la Verdad 20 Clippers Lakers Lakers With the defending championship getting underway tonight You could hear it right here on ESPN Radio BYU piling up the points, but at least Craig and Chris they're scoring touchdowns now without the aid of Zach Wilson. As that could take a little bit of time off if he wants to, because he handed it off on a jet sweep. That was a little bit too easy. We're gonna Romney six yard touchdown run and BYU tonight early in the third quarter. Mind you with the 49 10 lead in averaging 11 yards per play. Tonight to give you some context, the number one team in the country at that yards per play Oklahoma at eight. So BYU is having quite the night. Doing so with a team effort. That's a thing. Chris that stands out to me watching BYU leading up to this, and especially, this is a unit to operate as a team. Everybody on the field pulls their weight. It helps. When you have an elite quarterback, it goes a long way. But I mean, the offensive line is playing well, I'd love I love how the receivers work downfield when they don't have a football running backs. He may not be dynamic or electric speedsters, but they run with awareness and they run physical and his defense has done a really nice job tonight as well. Ryan O'Keefe on the kick return, not taking it out very far as BYU. Continues to controlling nice play by Max Tooley, the linebacker on special teams of the 20 Yard line. Meanwhile, There's only been one team. In the last 20 years in a bowl game that has allowed that has averaged 11 yards. Her play. Edible. First down and 10 that was appellation State yesterday against North Texas and the Myrtle Beach ball. Come on. We just got that. Let it happen that breathe. You must at least 24 hours. There's a hand off on first down. It's Otis Anderson across the 30 years. He breaks a tackle for you see after the 35 yard line and has nearly 15 yards on first down for the Knights of UCF. There's not been a good night so far for any of the Knights. But Dylan Gabriel, just nine of 27, throwing the football quick handoff to Anderson and a gain of two Right up the gut to your asses. UCF continues to go up tempo twins right. Gabriel takes the snap drops to throw with time all over the middle throws, and it's incomplete as this game has gone along. I don't know if it's his confidence or what, but he has not been on the market. With the majority of his passes. The later we've gotten, it feels like you know, I don't want to just keep going back to it. But it seems like an early pivotal moment in this game when they had Wide open, passed down the sideline the first quarter and it was just dropped and he's never been able. It seems to kind of break out of that kind of that bunk. From that point on 13 80 it does hit Chick comparison the sideline near midfield for a first down and 12 more yards. Jacob Harris tonight with his third catch for 45 yards. BYU defensively has been outstanding taking away a big play the one point early in the game where they had to capitalize. They lost it. Have never been able to get that opportunity back Otis Anderson on first down with the toad up the middle for four yards into BYU territory to the 48. 49 to 10 BYU on top of you See, after with 8 15 to go in the third quarter, Quick throw to the right incomplete intended for Anderson, who was lined up in a slot. Just let him buy too much. So a third down coming up and six for central Florida tonight. They are six of 13. On third down.
