Creating a More Accessible Podcasting Culture with 'Power Not Pity' Host Bri Moore

"What does it take to create a more accessible podcast in culture. That's what i'm after I would suggest using the acronym reap r. e. a. p. is something. I came up with the kind of give people in Idea of for things that they can do for intangible things that they can do to create a more accessible podcast in culture. Let's start with our well. Sorry let's start with the steps and our stands for recognize e stents. Were educate a stents were amplify and p stance politicize. Let's start with are so recognizing is all about awareness. It's all about what you see around you in what you can kind of make sense of in the moment so let's start with The idea of able ism able azzam is the systemic discrimination that keeps the sable people on the margins of society much. Like the state as you can hear from my background But yet able ism is the systemic discrimination that keeps disabled people on the margins of society. It is the thing that keeps us from living fully authentic and genuine lives So i would suggest that you start to see things from that perspective like what. What do you notice around you. How many disabled people do you see in your neighborhood. Are they're disabled people around or they're disabled people in the rooms where you work where you live. What what where are disabled people actually add. And how are they being treated where you live and where you are

Confirming the Next Meeting With Bri Galarza

"Leave a meeting without confirming the next steps. I can't tell you how many times i've seen deals in. A crm just tabled because the salesperson is waiting for the prospect to get back to them and control is key in moving any deal forward meaning the second that you leave the power in their hands. You've lost pretty much the sale. So how do you manage. And how do you confirm. The next steps will step one is while you're still finishing up that meeting already at the end of that current meeting that you're in agree on next steps and send the invites immediately. Adeel is not closed if they're wanting to follow up with you later time if they're reviewing prices with without you and showing the agreement to other decision makers who haven't been a part of the last few meetings there is no way they'll understand the value behind the proposal so always try to set a meeting ahead before sending over any proposals side is one day. This will step. One is be very direct. I've made the rookie mistake of wanting to look overly available to give them more than enough options to pick from because outs desperate for the meeting. For example i remember opening my calendar and saying alright. I've got an opening for monday at two. Four six and eight. I've got an opening tuesday morning at eight. Ten and twelve inch slopes wide open for the prospect but when someone looks wildly available the prospect might start to wonder consciously or subconsciously why is no scheduling with. Defining and Understanding Body Image With Mental Health Counselor Bri Campos

"Can we talk a little bit about body image and body grief and why we are where we are totally I think that body image is like one of those topics where people are like. I know what it is like nothing how to explain. Like i know it. When i see it but i'm not sure if i could write a dissertation on it i could. I could easily write. And so the the definition that i use for body image is that body image. Not just the way that we perceive our bodies. But it's also the way that we feel about our bodies it's the thoughts and beliefs that we have about the way that we feel about our bodies in its behaviors connected to the thoughts and beliefs about our buddy. So let me let me break that down for you in a really accessible way. So i had recently posted. I had an opportunity to partner with atlanta the metro on a campaign. They were doing lead with your legs and I like the photos that came back. I was like oh. I don't know if i've ever seen my body in that position in that angle in i. I really don't care for that photo with. Here's what didn't happen. So i didn't like the way that i perceived my body that i saw it but i did not feel badly as person because they didn't like those photos there was a neutrality to it was like like the photos but i don't feel like i'm a bad person. There was new story attached to it. I didn't also feel like. Oh my gosh. Because i don't look at these photos i feel shame because i think i'm going to experience less love or belonging because i don't look attractive in these photos which might have been a story that i played a long time ago so i think that especially die. Culture tries to sell the idea that like bonnie love and body satisfaction. And you're gonna love the way that you look. That's that's only one part of body. Image nets body satisfaction. I argued that self love is far more for it than body loves.

So leave it's the number of stripes the numbers. They're just a little bit. Yeah yeah they took out a striped so that we don't need to follow the national flag. Because who wants to walk down you see the flags at half mast and all that stuff they want to keep them up and keep everything. Happy there when you when you first walk into the park. So they removed a stripes. They don't need to follow the National flag code all right. How about this one. This one's an interesting one. I think how close is the next garbage can. Why Pros Can't Beat the Market, but You Can by Chris Reining

"Why pros can't beat the market, but you can buy Chris rining of Chris. rining. Dot Com. A small part of my investment portfolio is an index fund tracking the market, and apparently I'm not alone over the past few years. Trillions of dollars have flowed into index funds as people realize highly paid professional money managers seldom beat the market. Bill. Man after spending eight years running active funds explained why that's a difficult task. Quote Fund, managers are under pressure to be predictable by showing low tracking error, which essentially means funds have to try to beat their benchmarks while tracking their benchmarks closely. Does that remotely make sense? End Quote? To say that another way fund managers become closet indexes. For instance, if they say they're benchmark is the S. and P. Five hundred they need to assemble a portfolio of stocks that closely resembles the S. and P. Five hundred because if they're fund underperforms its benchmark investors pull their money out. And that's the game fund managers are playing to attract and keep the most money because fees are percentage based the fund with ten billion dollars under management rakes in more than the three billion dollar one. But. Here's what took me years to realize saying that professional money managers can't beat the market has. Nothing to do with what you can or can't do please listen to that again. Here's why small-time investors like you and me have an enormous advantage over any professional. One you're a speedboat there a battleship. You're investing small amounts of money, not many hundreds of millions or billions. What do you think happens when a fund manager finds an underpriced stock and starts buying millions worth it causes the price to go up and there goes the advantage. To No one's looking over your shoulder. Fund managers have bosses breathing down their neck making sure they're tracking their benchmarked prevent withdrawals. It's the old nobody ever got fired for investing in IBM, or now Apple Syndrome. It's very hard to get market beating results when you're forced to invest conventionally. Three you didn't study investing. The SMART, people with Mba's who study modern portfolio theory and understand those squiggly lines on technical charts have been conditioned to believe investing can be broken down into some science like engineering or physics. So neat and tidy. nope. It can't markets involve messy people. Anyone can pick stocks trying to beat the market that doesn't mean everyone should stocks take a certain set that outlined before in my blog and it helps to have help which is why I use Motley fool stock advisor. Speaking of them, there's no question there. Stock Picking Methods beats the market because they're picking better than average docs from their website as of today five return up sixty percent S. and P. Five, hundred up thirty seven, percent seventeen year return up three hundred, eighty, two percent S&P Five, hundred up ninety, one percent over the past five years they've eaten the market by twenty, three percent. And so if you're interested in picking stocks, it might be as simple as buying and holding their latest recommendations for years to come sure you'll get some picks wrong and that's okay. The idea is your winners will more than make up for the losers and I know because I've picked some duds but my returns still beat the market. This is similar to how Jeff bezos thanks. Quote we've made doozy's like the fire phone and many other things that just didn't work out. We don't have enough time to list all of our field experiments, but the big winners pay for thousands of field experiments and quote. anyways, one of the most phenomenal small-time investors I know is Saul. Rosenthal. He's been compounding money at thirty percent or so for thirty some years but also works harder at it than anyone. He currently owns nine stocks only his very best ideas and always thinks deeply about them trying to find his blind spots. You might think having your life savings in nine stocks is nuts but I've learned it's better to have a small portfolio where you know a lot about a few companies than some gigantic portfolio were you know little about lots? I've trimmed my portfolio to fifteen stocks and at index fund it feels good of course, running a concentrated portfolio like that takes more work when all your eggs are in one basket, you watch that basket. But if you find the work enjoyable like it's a game for you, the results can be life changing. Does all this make sense I bet you'll always hear things like if professional money managers can't beat the market with their huge budgets and computing resources then neither can you Again just because they can't beat the market has absolutely nothing to do with what you can or can't do value investor monae per Bri. said it best quote investing is a peculiar business. The larger one gets the worst one is likely to do. So this is a field where the individual investor has a huge leg up on the professionals and large investors and quote.

I was telling my team that I would actually love your perspective on it. I said. For for us, we always really believe in the triple win. It's a win for the customer. It's a win for the so meaning, it's adding to the customer, so win for the business meaning it's driving revenue or profit, or whatever the financial goals is, and it's also a win for the client. And for that in the corporate world, it actually means that they're ascending like they're getting promoted. They're getting recognized in a lot of ways, and and some folks on my team were like well. That means that we're going to lose some of those clients that we have great relationships with and I'm like but that, but that's that's what we want we want them to. As we're losing them, because they're going up and there ascending whether it's at that company or somewhere else than we did something right and we're. "I think one of the biggest ways is just like through communication. That's something that we have always done really well with, but obviously through quarantine. You know there's no physical touch. There's any all you have or your words, and so we've really been able to grow in that way and understand each other because you don't have anything else. And because we did have that time on the show, it feels like we've been dating for a year at. It feels like things we've done taken three years so luckily we have. But Yeah I. Think Communication. So you guys are working on an. Album or a couple of songs. We finished an album enough with. Full album ten songs of five originals in the five covers that we ended up seeing on the show amazing, that's so cool. And then you guys are supposed to go out on a tour as part of the show to, and now I think you guys are GonNa get screwed out of that. That was actually an option, so maybe we should've gone with that one. That's an option I. think my favorite so far is crib. There's a ring to it. It's like it works. It's Chris Breathes Breeds Chris I don't know that's. That's all congratulations. Guys hasn't feel it was very obvious to US viewers. It was going to be you guys in the end. Was it obvious you? Know, I would say it's obvious I, thank you so much I mean it feels amazing. I'M NOT GONNA. Take all the words bill of me to say two things. I don't know in Vegas. We dislike kind of had a feeling rehearsal. That might men this just feel so good like it can't feel like. I, get felt wrong for feeling this good like I've just like head over heels with this woman, the music going great and dislike. Yeah, maybe maybe this is for us so. We definitely knew that we were very strong, but you know until Chris Harrison calls your name at the rose ceremony. You're never safe, so that part was always terrifying, so we're very grateful that we one. What do you think? Propelled you to the was your love story or your talent as artists together. I WANNA. Say It's healthy mix of both good very. Yeah I think it's an equal combination you know. That's what the show was looking for was a combination and I feel like we figured it out and It, it turned into something that was beyond just us individually. Let's go through this episode. You guys were doing super well the entire season, and then there seemed to be like some sort of weird bump in the road that to me seem produced like somebody was like talking in your ear, because you guys didn't go the fantasy suite, which I totally respect, but then bree you made. It seem the next day like that was a reason that you weren't feeling connected to him. What was going on? So the fantasy suite was never an option. and Chris and I agree to that from the beginning, so it was all about the rehearsal. The performance I had nerves I was afraid that I was going to mess things up for me in him. As the finale. It's the biggest night of our lives for careers that we've worked hard and so I was very in my head about that part, but. That's nothing to do fantasy, so you got it. That's what I was figuring is it was such a small bump? That was like just enough to make us go. For like five minutes. It carried us through drama. Wise when Rudy and Matt Left. The NS much was the real earthquake of of the finale. You guys didn't see that coming. I. Yeah like we, we all knew what was going on, but I don't think we were expecting to leave. Because we had gone through to the next step, you know we all flew to Nashville. So just seemed leg. Why wouldn't you do the finale? So yeah, it wasn't even on our radar. It took me off guard. How close did you get to the other couples in the house? We were all super close I mean. Before performances they didn't show none of this like I'd be like Yo guys. Holding hands were praying right now. We got a crash. This thing like we were all there for each other supporting each other, because we knew we had to be each other's number one. Like the crowd is there for us, but we have to be there for each other. It's the craziest scenario for musicians and singers to be in so beloved ready. When was that finale wrapped? But month. February mid-february, okay, so there was a couple of weeks left where you guys could date outside of a quarantine atmosphere. Did you guys hang out together because I? See Right now that you are in separate rooms that I'm assuming in in separate states. Yeah so I'm in Utah and Christmas in Los Angeles, so we had two weekends together before everything got shut down, which was incredible The first weekend we just got to Kinda hang out together and then the second weekend we got to start to work on the music and. Rehearsing with the band from the show in the music producers as well and then the day I got back. Things started to really change and I think it was within two days. Things got locked down. We were just kind of stuck. So so how's it been being in a serious relationship that it's so early on and yet you're so far apart. We have a unique situation where we have to work together. Literally all day, so we're always in contact with each other so number one. We have to talk to each other number two. We love talking to each other I'm telling you. I wake up in the same thing on the show. I can't talk to degree, so it's. It's really been amazing to like. Build on what we had, and just like you know, make the test even reeler like before. We were together, but there were a bunch of cameras now we're not together and became each other. So where's the love really and to see? That is actually stronger than it was before is truly blessing so? What are some areas that you see relations getting stronger in?.

I wonder if there's any scheduling with that, because like it does make her seem like a more credible musical. And then I love like jewel. Can we just say that? Sh- she looks a lot like l'armee Chanel fifteen to twenty years. Really. Probably Yeah I could definitely see that crazy. That's a good point. The the judges were awesome, and it leads us in the very end of the episode. Obviously this. We gotta ask Kristen, Bree. But I have a I think. This show ended filming in February I. Remember we'll ask them for clarification, which means that the shutdown happened soon after, but we see them in a recording studio still in love, instill getting their music on Ashley what. What's your prediction for Kristen? Bree as an a do do moving into the future. I don't know where their careers are going to go. I feel like it's so hard to break into the music industry, even with platforms like they already have like how many voice Kastens and American idols have we seen you know have their fifteen minutes and then just fall off, so I can't like guarantee them like career success but I do feel that they're going to get married I. Feel like they might be a bachelor. Love success. Well Congratulations Marie Ashley. Chris Bree, coming on the podcast here in just a few seconds as we get prepped and ready to go, let's break and come back with Chris and bree. The winning couple from this season's listen.

"Be a great episode breakdown, but in addition to that we do have the winners Chris in Brooklyn on the podcast at the end of the breakdown. Ashley, you're always fantastic at these. What did you think of the final episode of listen to your heart? Then I think it was the weakest episode of it. Did you. I. Think it felt I. Think I think this I think it felt like they didn't know how to close the season. Well, it's kind of like Winter Games. You know just like we're going to have. All the couples do their performances, and you're gonNA smile and cheer, and then like we're going to say what they want. Yeah. You know the interesting part compared to Winter Games. Is that the gift that Chris Umbria? Receiving is actually hugh. So I wish they would've played that up a little bit more like I wish we would have felt that, and maybe we will want. Their album comes out. But. There was weeks the show hit, and there was weeks that I left being like. Mad, I watched it, but would I have tuned in I. Don't fully know and the reaction from Bachelor nation I think has been mixed as well if you just. Kinda read the reviews. Some people love it, and some people could definitely go without it. This was the only episode that I found myself scrolling on my phone. I think it's because when Matt and Rudy left early on in the episode. It was just like our drama was gone. Like are kind of like the raw real is that rudy brings was gone. I also am obsessed with release voice like I feel like our female powerhouse was gone. Yeah just kind of went downhill from there and I knew that when they were going home like Oh i! Get why they're going home now. I mean that's just how like that's the bachelor formula? It's like even though the audience probably wants a little bit more of this couple because they're not there yet. Doing air quotes. They have to go home, so they went home i. think that they're going to stay in touch. especially the way we talked that last week, he just seemed as if. There was like still something between them. They both live in La. I. Hope they're able to like a kind of feels like me injured to be honest. It kind of felt like okay. There's something here, but like it's not going to happen as fast as this show. Forces it to happen, so we'll revisit it, but like I care I care about you sue. It's very much how I feel jared split up with me. That's the way you're going to use the term at the end of Bachelor in paradise, too, so I have hope for in Rudy but I knew when they were I was lying on. This is going to be a snooze fest. What did you want at of especially this last episode? I wanted like performances that really made me feel and be like Whoa. I didn't really get that. Feel as Kristen Burri did a very good job like they're very talented people and if I were to that in person, I've who, but through the TV. The Passion, and the power didn't really translate, and especially with Jamie and try is felt like those are like the most lacklustre performance I felt like that was Kari Okey those like a really good couple doing karaoke? I would've been. If I was at a Karaoke bar and saw that. Yes, it just didn't live up to the expectations both. Musically and Romantically. Chris Brita celebrate who we will have on later, but it felt like an almost convince myself Ashley that. It wasn't going to happen because it was so obvious. Yeah me, too. There is a point. But. We like we won almost could've said. Oh. Yeah, this couple is going to be the one to win like they're far beyond anything else. And then they one. Yeah, so I thought maybe going to twist there for a second big because I was even thinking about how at the very beginning of the season they made Jamie. Trevor storyline so prominent I was like Oh. Maybe they're gonNA like twisted it up, and it's going to be a full circle moment, but then you saw their performances and you're they can't do that. No it's tough. It was it was a full. Hey, let's let's run through this really quick as you mentioned Matt and Rudy. Leave the pretty much right at the beginning which leaves Jamie and Trevor and B-brian. Chris left together. Bring Chris Choose not to go into the fantasy suites, but Jamie and Trevor do go okay I thought that was I understand that Chris. Probably have like these was called preconceived notions of the fantasy suite, and they're probably like Oh, fantasy, we equal sex bachelor nation, but they haven't really gone through the bachelor ringer so much to know that like a lot of the Times. There's no sex in that. There's just a lot of talking and I really thought that they would have enjoyed having that intimate away from camera time. the didn't take it up. On is very interesting and actually this is very funny. Look what I have right here. I know that our audience listening. Won't find this funny because they can't see me, but I'm hearing. My Mom's a little sitting area and there's a key like a frigging Ki- like an old school Ki. Can you believe that that is still in the autumn? Lopes, the fantasy Globes like the real key from your fantasies. We Know I. Oh God I don't even know if. I don't think I have one of those. Oh, but is it. How weird is it that they still put his? Wouldn't it be funny if they put like at electron grim key. Card your print. Like use your fingerprint. Get into hotel. Yes, SO BRING CRYSTAL GO! That is always surprising to me. Because fantasies are like the first time you can take a deep breath, but we'll talk about that in a little bit and see if we get insight into what that we're that decision came from Jamie and trevor do decide to go. Jimmy mentions during the episode that she is falling more in love. Trevor every day more in love with Dr Ever. Did I feel that she loves him? I feel like he likes her. Even though he says love and I feel like everything between them is super, innocent and puppy love. But it does feel good. And feels it's not bad to walk. No. It's very sweet, very smiley. Very youthful. Yeah. It is which who knows where that can go can be great. It just GONNA. Take a bit right like it's not something you rush into an is there. Well. We'll fast forward to the performances of the evening, which is always one of my favorite parts, if not my favorite part of every episode. Trevor in Jamie Receive Song Number, one, which is unchained melody by the righteous..

"Nation. Stars react to Hannah Brown saying the N. Word this according to e online. Yes so the video is out there. Hannah Brown took to instagram alive. This weekend and she was singing de Babies Song Rockstar. In which the N. Word is used and She said it which was horrible. And it was also Very interesting considering. She kind of edited herself when she when the F. Word came up in the song but she didn't edit herself when this word came up in the song and then when fans start responding the comments she like put it on her brother suggesting that he was the one who said it. This is a direct quote from the instagram live. She said I really don't think that I said that word. I don't think that I said that word but now I'm like Oh God I never use that word. I never called anybody that we don't say that word so you know what I'm GonNa stay here and Y'all can think I said whatever I did or something I'm not but I'm not that so that was Yeah it's it's very very bizarre and why through your brother under the bus like how is that any better. I don't this is so crazy is very crazy situation in my opinion and I mean I we've been you don't say the word you don't say it and I feel like there's somebody who can talk about this even more eloquently than we can and that would be Rachel Lindsay. Who took to her instagram. Live to talk about this specifically yesterday and I think she put it so well and we're not going to air the entire six minutes of Rachel's instagram live. It is out there on the Internet. If you'd like to watch it I encourage you to watch it and Right now we're GONNA roll a couple of clips. It's easy to make a statement. It's easy to hide behind words. But when you're bold enough to say the word on camera on your platform they you need to be bold enough to use your face and you're on camera and apologize in the same way that you said the word like. I'm not discrediting the apology. I'm just saying that we can't give people a pass for this. We have to hold people accountable for what they're doing. Non Black people should not feel okay saying that were my whole purpose in doing. This is want to educate people on the word but at the same time to for it to encourage you. Guys to hold people accountable. If you feel wronged if you feel someone offended you you don't give them a pass. You hold them accountable for what it is that they did. I JUST WANNA encourage everybody to be better to do better and with that good night. In addition to Rachel Lindsay Becker Martinez also has spoke out on the issue. Bekker's exact quote is a word that holds so much historical weight that the black community is still healing from. In parts of the white community are still weaponising for dehumanisation particularly in the south that according to Becca Martinez interesting part of Rachel. Lindsay's clip though. Is that Rachel alludes to the fact that she's reached out to Hannah and offered handsome advice and guidance on an education and as an alludes handed has not accepted. Really any of the least. That's how I took Rachel's video the only thing we've seen from. Hanna is an apology In the sorts of video that you just quoted earlier and then also the written up augie. Enza story slide. She posted yesterday. Says I owe you all a major apology? There is no excuse. I will not justify what I said this according to Brown. I've read your messages in seeing the her I have caused. I own it all. I'm terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private this language is unacceptable. I promised you bet so Rachel Had something to say about that and she goes if you are bold enough to use that word. Better be bold enough to put your face on the Internet with your apology. And when I heard Rachel say that I'd nodded very heavily when I was like. Yeah so it'll be interesting whether Hannah comes out and says something else whether she tries to let it fade away but is bad guys really actually. What's the lesson learned here? What can we take away? The obvious very obvious things in front of us. That are wrong here. Nobody's ever clear. But what are some other things that you're learning from this situation? I mean people will say that. This should be an educational moment but to me. I just feel like people know this from like a very young age Right now the Annaborough knows better. Yeah like I don't I shouldn't speak for anybody else but I think it's. It's very naive to think that she doesn't know that that's not a word to use. That's a word she shouldn't be using. You know what I mean. I would agree. Well I would agree. I mean I think I would agree. I I since young age actually my one of my best friends parents give me some advice and they said thing for your free speak. We've heard that before right. Thank you I. It's like you know what it back as your kids. Terrible advice like it's so simple. It's like it doesn't have any complexities to as you get older. "The vendor nationally. I almost famous. Podcast with iheartradio Ashley. What's going on? Hey Ben not much how are you? I am fantastic. My allergies are terrible. So Fi sound incredibly stuffed up or if you hear me sniffling or in the very common case that I sneeze during this podcast. I'm asking for a little forgiveness today. Okay you're forgiven in advance. It's it's a pretty gross time in my life. My eyes are watering. My nose is running and I woke up in the middle last night. Actually making cat sounds like I was doing this sound because my throat. It's so bad so it's been a rough one so sad way. D- You or just have any weird things that you do in the middle of the night. You know what I do I really. I wake up about three times a night to use the restroom. I don't know if that's weird or not. It's bad that's so bad. You're not getting a good night's sleep not at all. I haven't no while but the cashier shrinking before I drink so much water. And that's the problem is I like start drinking water like six o'clock at night and I don't stop till I go to bed and I need to stop. I just get really thirsty. Always at night. You always go for your leaner night. I know I need to start running. So jared has this weird thing that he does in the middle of the night he I posted it to my instagram a couple of times but he like lifts his arms and he tickles them. Did you see that yeah? It's so weird like he'll go one and then he just like gently strokes and one for like thirty seconds and then he goes over and does the other one and he he's asleep. I'm telling you guys it's now often. Does this happen pretty much every night? At least every other. Yeah that's that's wild. I think is creepy. I'll see it is. It is creepy. Feel kind of weird and then there's this other thing that he does a lot less often. It's bizarre he like bounces his head up and down. It's almost seizure like and Elizabeth like he bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce for like fifteen twenty seconds and sometimes if it's getting too long and I get Kinda freaked out. I'll touch him and then he says that he's like a semi awake state when that happens and he relaxed in comforted by motion. And I looked it. Yeah bouncing just as head and I'm like in a very repetitive manner. And I just I looked up. And it's like it's a thing and it's not harmful at all and most people do describe it as comforting. It's really bizarre. So it's not weird. It's not rare you know what's going on. What about you? What do you have? That's interesting in the middle of night. I have nothing. I have this sleeper and gold at is forming on my cheek from pressing my cheeks so hard against the pillow so like I find myself waking up all the time being like slapping myself being like stop sleeping on that side squish. Eat so hard into the Philo until you guys. It's coming permanent. Doesn't go away in the morning so I'm working on it. It's very embarrassing. And it's also the ultimate first world problem we'll hey rightous ab Ashley iheartmedia DOT COM or Hashtag. Almost here's podcast. What do you do? That's weird in your sleep or even your partner does Ashley. I think I've said it every single week but I'm GonNa say it again because not ally Bachelor Nation Continues. Somehow someway to produce news in the midst of shutdown in. This week is not an anomaly. We have a ridiculous amount of news to share Let's just jump in right away with a few of the smaller stories leading up kind of ramping. It up to the end where we're obviously. GonNa talk about Hannah Brown and the the news. That came out about Hannah this last week. I story is arline. Juniors new platinum blonde hair divides bachelor nation. Dude it looks so good. I think it looks good. I THEY LOSE AMAZING THAT HAIRCUT. I mean first off. It's the haircut that Lauren gave him and the scruff. That's making him. Look like a whole new man and I feel like I'm sorry Ari if you look like this going into your season I feel like the girls would've been even more into him. He looks so much more youthful I get. Cut off like five years of his age. Then the blonde like I can take or leave. The blonde at the salt and pepper is very sexy but the blonde makes them again. Maybe he's trying too hard to some people that he's trying to look too young and I can see why people are divided on that but I think the haircut scruff makes them look amazing and I can take or leave the blonde guy. Isn't this the time to mixing things up a bit like I had a mustache? I had to shave last week. for some of the reason. I have a big thing coming up. That's to last me about a year and I had to shoot some stuff for it. I was like I can't have a moustache for the next year of my life. Every single commercial But now is the time to mix up to look for anybody guy girl. Whoever like you should be trying the things you've always wanted to try but do you think you? Do you have more of a man crush on Ari. Oh yeah his hair the good. He's really good. I think it's I respect it. It's not a bad thing. You kinda cool with blonde hair to right now. I got like a receding hairline thing going on. I feel like he doesn't and I feel like it would look weird if I did. It seem okay. Well if you are worried about receiving I wouldn't believe your hair blonde. It's not good for it. No you'll feel the burn I need to. I need to keep as much here on my head as possible for when you get blogs if it got really bad one day yeah I mean I'm not that bad like I can just met me. I don't think he would even notice. But if it got really bad do the Ashton Kutcher and get plugs. Think ashes gotten it. I feel like every guy in Hollywood against guys got it. I think it's more. I think it's more common than I think. I actually Not often complete tangent. I was getting a haircut. Once during my season of the Bachelor and the guy is super big hairstylists in L. A. And he's like you got a nice thick head of hair here like I'm worried I'M GONNA lose. My here is like it doesn't matter if you do. What do you mean? And he said every single actor like has gotten plugs. If you just google actor hair plugs you're GONNA see list of names of people you never would have expected to have gotten plugs. One hundred percent. Ben Affleck apparently has gotten it and I would have never thought that because I never even thought Ben had a moment of receding Khanna. Hey Oh yeah totally a Johnny Tony. Tom Brady got it. And that's one reason that jared is completely down time comes. I don't know it's something like the one big thing but I'm not against the nice shaved head either. Who knows Ashley as I get older? I care more than I care. Less Wells Adams is happy not to be doing bachelor in Paradise Summer. Yeah really interesting. So he's happy getting the time with Sarah and he said that if he were to be doing bachelor in paradise it would be going back to back with another project that he's filming and he just didn't want to like have a Lotta time. That's fair enough. I mean I know. Wells has been great for that show. I know he's good at what he does. I hope that wells can always find a place on our television somehow some way but at the same time he's big things coming up and do you really WanNa go on a beach and serve drinks for a whole month while your fiance is planning a wedding. I get it sure enough. Just a little shoutout. Our friend Joe Fletcher and her fiance Jordan Rogers to celebrate four years together. Congratulations Joe Joe. Jordan really really cool. They're cute together and I'm so sorry that their wedding had to be postponed because I do believe that they're supposed to get married this month. That's I know that's really really rough Hey Go down here to this story. Kaitlyn Bristowe holy cow. Kaitlyn Bristowe makes her country music debut with a new song. If I'm being honest Ashley. Wow okay wow so. This song was written Believe when she was still with Sean Sean and she didn't release it and you can listen to the lyrics and you can hear that. It was probably during a time that she was like feeling a little bit more like doubt about herself a little. Bit More Insecure and she decided until now to release it. And Damn you guys like she went to number one like she was up there and I. I see the artist. She was up there with just unbelievable. It wasn't even just number one on the country charts. It was number one on the charts. It's still there right now. We pull this up one my actions. This song is so good. She sounds amazing. The song is so Caitlyn and I knew that this was upper sleep for awhile but I wasn't sure if she was ever GonNa pull the trigger on it because when I Was in the car with her. And she mentioned that she wanted to release an EP. With Sean and it was we were going to Carleen Evans wedding so that was three years ago. So yeah she's been sitting on it for a while but damned voice. She and songwriting skills. She put herself out there. I really love the song I actually was singing. It in the car and Jessica looked at me and was like if you're singing this song consistently it means it's really good and then I look at that was like first thing in the morning and then by noon I think had reached number one great Kaelin. We've talked about it right you and I both in like envy's a thing in this world and so when you see somebody doing stuff like Caitlyn's doing an like your first reaction is to celebrate it what it means that. Caitlyn just awesome second. It's like hey we need to start celebrating each other more and I am celebrating. Kaitlyn Bristowe because she just killed it so good. She was so bright. It's honestly so brave because for reality star to to just like relief. Just go into totally. Different AVENUE IS NERVE WRACKING. And there's so many times like people like Paris Hilton. Who was actually pretty successful with it. But Kim Kardashian once was going to release a single or she did release. A single people like ridiculed it right and never goes anywhere. Oh Heidi Montauk from the hills. It's just it can go south quickly and if you're lucky nobody remembers it but Caitlin. I think she's I think next step in life is country star Country Star comedian dancer. Podcasts were near Ashley. Canetti in Kaitlyn Bristowe. That's very I definitely need. I definitely gave me speaking of like envy. And Jealousy gave me a mental plus. Should be like okay..

Clear Your Clutter, Clear Your Mind With Marla Stone

"The year is still young and it's a great time for clearing our space both mentally and physically. This week's guest gives us some great insight into how we can clean up our physical space in stay perpetually organized MARLA stone is a psychotherapist turned professional organizer and author of the clutter remedy a guide to getting organized for those who love their stop. She's here to talk about how you create a strategy built around less stuff and more life satisfaction. Well Marla welcome to this episode of live. Happy now thank you. Thank you for having me or this is such a great time to have you on because this is the time of year. All kinds of clutter conscious and thinking about doc clearing our space. First of all I guess. Why is it important that we take time to do that? Well you're correct. This is the time of year where people start to have. The New Year's realizations is what I like to call it and because they gone through the holidays they've been super busy and they really didn't take. They might have started to put things in closets or in the garage to get ready for company and there didn't really knows the clutter clusters here's that have formed in all the coins under the bed in the closets and they want to remedy this. Nobody wants to live in a big mess. So why hi. Is it beneficial for us not to have clutter. Well I you know I always say the outer is a reflection of the inner so if you have you know cluttered emotions or things that you have not worked through traumas from past or just any Miss Communications you've had with people it can manifest in your space and then it becomes like a human hamster wheel situation where you're going around and round and you you can't get clear on the inside or the outside so what's important is to have clarity about what you truly bow and what you consider consider an ideal lifestyle. Most people are putting one foot in front of the other NGOs getting kids to school or going grocery shopping and they think they have to move to get organized but they really don't. It's really a want or don't watch so clarity of your life. I will bring clarity or stays and you'll be able to see things you wanNA keep around if you really don't know love to do in your current light it's impossible impossible to make good decisions about what key. That's a really good point because usually we started from the other side or like I just have to start getting rid of this stuff. uh-huh we start pitching it out and John Very conscious about. Maybe why we're doing it or what's going is just all in the way. So how'd Oh you do it the correct way. Well you know. I've written a book called the clutter remedy a guide to getting organized for those who love their stuff and I'm a former psychotherapists. Social worker turned professional organizers. So when I first started to work with people I realized how uncluttered their emotions were and so if I started to go through their stuff with them even if it was very nicely categorized they would become blocked and they really really could focus on their objects or the things in their home or their business and they would get distracted so I started to apply. Apply some of the things I had done as a therapist not not traditional therapy but just the techniques and clever things to help people gain insight in to what they truly wanted in life team back to what you want in life. What you love to do what what makes you a rails and then that determined what they would he and so it would make it much easier for them to go through? All their shoes are all their makeup or all their tools. You know whatever it is that you have in your space it will always be easier to through things when you're clear about what you truly want in lice yet. We've all been familiar in the last last few years of the idea of just keeping you really love kind of thing so I love the subtitle of your book which says it's Guy Getting organized for those who love their stuff. So so what if you have someone who happens to just like a lot of stuff because I have a brother who. I'M NOT GONNA call him a horror but if I did I wouldn't be wrong. I'm he deceives got Brooks and DVD's and just so much stop it that he and he loves having all of that exactly and so so. I realized that people do love their stuff and I do too so I started to recognize that focusing on getting being rid of things was not the way to go with any what you no matter. How much stuff you have? So we started to focus on what you want to keep. And the criteria I developed has helped so many people become really clear and it's not just about stuff you that is one of the criteria area. Do you live this. But it's do you also use this and even if it's once a year Turkey platter you're getting that and the dude things serve a purpose so serves a purpose. Are things like the key to the fire face or an extra cute a car or an eyeglass S. kit or key to the community pool you may never use it but you're going to keep those things and then obviously sentimental items and so you WanNa keep those we don't want to get rid of our sentimental items was speaking and then things you love and it doesn't matter how what's parts who want to keep. I have worked in situations. I don't like the word hoarding really think. That's for animals but humans collect and sometimes we over collect over accumulate in those situations if somebody has a really strong intense relationship with their objects. It's the last thing you WanNa do is talk about getting rid of anything because you will not be allowed in two and so with those cases are more extreme cases. I simply categorize everything just like I do with every other homer business. We put everything into broad categories and Dan. We leave them that way. We can even do some fine tuning for those folks. So for instance with books you know both through the broader category than theirs gardening books books on sway books on how to Redo your how books on whatever fiction nonfiction whatever parts you have growing Armagan fine tune them and then they simply state insane and that we find a safe place to put them so that things are not in the walkway in were on the bed on the couch and Person can resume their ideal lifestyle but still everything they out you know. It does seem that there are some areas in a home in every home that that are more cluttered prone. So what can someone do about that. Well the strategy itself that I developed the clutter remedy strategy is very simple. It's that's not the rocket science part. The rocket science far is once you get it organized. Just whatever area it is whether it's bathrooms your bathrooms. Have somebody little things or kitchens pantries hallway closets. Those areas seem to garage as seem to collect a lot of stuff but the simple strategy. Is you clear everything out I of the area you want onto Organiz. You don't start going through it right there. You don't start pondering things looking at things you won't finish what you WANNA do. So once clear everything hang out and you're putting things into BRI categories from whatever space. You're organizing after everything's clear out and categorize then you look through your objects objects with back clear and concise materia. Will I use it. Does it serve a purpose is at Santa Mental. Do I love it then. Once you're finished rush and you've figured out what you're going to key then you can find too so again. The fine tune is the sauce of the

So that, you know, software foundations are somewhat important, but also can be fairly distracting area of empowerment on one side than friction on the other. I'm sure there's been a lot more lessons than this. But ultimately, it's about about community. It's about people. It's about execution writes about product. And from that perspective. It's very similar counts as it was working on air flow. Question 'bout Dade infrastructure. There was a time. Well, I because guy goes were still in this time where you have certain general purpose data infrastructure, tools that are being used for a wide variety of of application so things like spark, for example, you could use spark for many of the workloads that druid gets used for. But drew, it is kind of a domain specific tool for this. I think it's typically like read only data workloads with, you know, high throughput and fast query response time. And then you also you built you built air flow, of course, and people could have used other scheduling tools, but you built a purpose built scheduling tool specifically for the data infrastructure workloads that you were seeing are there any other dome? Maynes in the world of data infrastructure that seem under served today. The where you you're you would just be like, oh, I wish there was an open source tool that would solve this specific domain within data infrastructure. Right. I think there's a handful. One thing you should never say when invited out by a friend

"Skull, right? Because sometimes you may not want to do something unless you're with a particular crowd. And I have my own thoughts about that. Like do you ever? Did you ever like invite something someone to someone and then they go well who's going? Oh my God. That's the worst of that room someone. So that's something you should not say to someone because they might feel bad. They might feel. I'm not enough. Oh, yeah. I'm just thinking about now to say that so. Yeah. Never just say like well who's going to be there? Right. Like, okay. Well, you're not good enough. So let's. If the other people can motivate may, right? Yeah. No don't say that don't say that. Right. So I mean, you know, but in this situation at sounds like this person, either would be going alone. Or maybe there's one other person. I'm not I'm not quite sure. But it just sounds like, oh, they're trying to get their friend to join them and say that oh they'd be happy to happier to go with they came as well. Yeah. Yeah. This is good. I mean, this is a good skill super in bri-. Yeah. So you want to express that feeling because it could be flattering to that person. Right. So use it as a point of connection. Yeah. Absolutely. And use your tone of voice here to express. This is not just about the words. Also about the way you say it, right? Right. Right. Right. So I mean, our listener ask could you say I'd be encouraged to go. What do you think? I mean, you could like the person would understand you. But it sounds a little formal and not quite right. Yeah. Yeah. There are some better things Carlo to that you could use here. We're going to show you them. Yeah. I mean, I think that this feeling of having your mood changes something important to be able to explain right? You'd be feeling this, and then you'd be feeling this. So so what cabbie Larry can you use? Right. So we're going to talk about that. Yes. So definitely the would write using would. So I would or I'd right, right. And expressing the feeling right? Exactly. So yeah, I think the first step is expressing how you're feeling. And then the second one is talking about how your mind could be changed. Right. So like about how your mind could be changed for that. Second step. Yeah. I would I could I might be blank to go. Right. All kinds of hypotheticals or conditionals loving, right? Right. Right. Exactly. So what's one thing that you could say Lindsay, and if and if you wouldn't say something on this list like, yeah. Pointed out where I will. All right. So what do you think? So first of all ready. Last week sales open for our Tokyo, power English immersion, weekend, and sponsor limited to only fifty students. So if you didn't get your ticket yet, and you live in Japan go and grab it now at all ears English dot com forward slash Tokyo. We'll get to meet us. Well, you bring your English to a new level with our immersion method with native speakers in just one weekend all ears English dot com forward slash Tokyo. Okay. So would I'd be motivated. Right. So something like, I'm not feeling up to going alone. But if you were with me I'd be motivated to go or I'd be more motivated to go. I yeah. I mean, I would say that. I think I might use this one in particular when it comes to like the gym. Maybe I was just thinking your soul. Right. I just had the same thought. Yeah. This is less about like going like an energy like entertainment. It's more about like something that you should do for your body or your mind. But you know, you need the motivation because you don't have it by yourself. Right. It's like, oh, I would like to be sitting on my couch watching TV and eating brownies. But if you're going to go to the gym, I'll be motivated to go. I'd be motivated. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. So yeah. I bees that one specifically for like, fitness and things that require self-discipline. Right. Right. Right up like in this next example. So we have would be driven to and be driven to go. Yeah. Or something. Yeah. I love this word driven. Right. So to describe a person. Oh, like the person don't entrepreneur, they're very driven. I don't know if I would use it here in a conversation with a friend is mono, Michelle. What do you think? I mean, it came into my mind. So it must have happened from somewhere. But. I agree. I think like more than motivated one might be good. But like I mean, you could say like, oh, I don't like hot yoga that much. But if you're going I'd be driven to join you or something like that. Yeah. I mean, I don't think it's like wrong or anything. But maybe the first one is a little bit more natural. Yeah. To me, it just sounds a little bit more formal like driven. But but this is a great word. I feel like we could do an episode on outer drive. Ibe like motivated people who's in there. Yeah. That would be maybe we could

The iPhone XR Is More Than Enough iPhone for Pretty Much Anyone

"We're starting to get predictions around. I phone ten are and its future loop ventures. Principal gene Munster isn't worried about short lines outside about both stores. Though. He does seem worried that others might be worried riding on his berm site. Mr. Munster said the prevailing narrative surrounding the new iphone ten are is that it's a disappointment a second class device that will never live up to the iphone ten s. I hadn't heard that. But apparently, he has he only brings it up, however to call it pure fiction Munster says he and his expect the iphone ten are to be the most popular iphone in twenty nineteen as consumers began to see the phone in the wild and recognize its value. Of course, that means value for apple as well, monster incumbency think iphone ten are will help push phone unit growth three percent higher fiscal year twenty nineteen versus fiscal year. Twenty eighteen. So then where were the lines last Bri day? The analysts seized three reasons for their absence won the iphone ten s to the early line waiting adopters. His data shows there is less excitement for the ten are amongst early adopters to online orders continue to take away from launch day demand at apple stores and three short lead times for the iphone ten are now averaging less than two weeks. Don't incentivize people to wait in line to get phone earlier because yeah lead times are short. My check in the middle of the night last night shows a wait time of three to five business days. Singing a similar song on iphone ten are as Wedbush securities analyst. Daniel is CNBC had the biggest apple bull around saying Friday that Apple's lower cost. I phone will be just what Apple's looking for in the middle kingdom speaking on the financial channels program power lunch. I've said it's all about China. We think this is sort of that fuel and the engine that apple is looking for in terms of that demand. Interestingly both Ives and Munster think the lower cost iphone could lead to a higher average selling price for iphone and Munster's case he thinks a little over half of iphone ten are buyers will by either the one hundred twenty eight gigabyte model or the two fifty six goodbye model versus the sixty four gigabyte version, though, it's not spelled out that way in the CNBC piece one assumes that that's I've thinking is. Well, the Cording to the report I've said the average selling price or ASP could be fifteen to twenty percent higher than analysts expectations over the next few quarters.

Dave Mason and betting online

"I will go to the big show. Dave Mason. Always glad to be joined by the manager of the sportsbook at Beto online dot AG. You know, I tell you guys about them all the time, and Dave is joined us a number of times on the even money podcast, but never really here on the Ross Tucker football podcast. But as sports betting going more and more mainstream wanted to at least get Dave on here a couple times just to get kind of a feel for the lay of the land for this season, Dave. So I, you know, I know a lot of people in the raw soccer football podcasts aren't as familiar with sports betting, and maybe they're just kind of getting into it now. So I don't. I start Dave, which teams this year have been most bet so far as we sit here August twentieth the most money is come in one way or the other on there. Season Wintel numbers because it seems like that's the most popular preseason bet is just looking at teams seeing what the line is for how many games though winner lose, and then pick in the over the under. Right? That very popular way that you don't don't long with the Super Bowl and the conference and patients. But yes, season winds is always very popular. Season when it comes to bend, sees a wins. It's it's very similar to a game total. People like that. The the players like the bet the overs no difference here. I, there's some sharp action to Sharp's loudly season win totals should we had star sharp action on bills under six and a half? That's what it opened up. They're always down to five and a half Seattle under eight and a half that's down to eight wins. As far as public plays the patriots over. Of course, people are always been patriots over the Browns over that got bit people at betters are really strong on the Browns this year. I mean that there are biggest Super Bowl liability that our biggest liability for conference champion conference champions of the AFC, their base liability out any divisions when when the AFC nor so people are big on the Browns this year. Some other. Some other teams are exposed on the Texans over. That's that's a big exposure. The Rams early, we got bet on rans over a lot to how Rams are hot team that people are betting the saints over. So those are some of the biggest exposures for sees a win totals. Unusually Dave people are more likely to bet the over then the under. Right? Yeah, it's just like a game total. You know, just like a total for Monday night football game. Most people are been the over and that stat similar here. You know, people are bad people usually, but the overs or usually room for the unders in the games and unders for the season win totals as well. And that's no different here. What about so far through couple of weeks of the preseason? Have you seen any movement for any of these teams through the first two weeks? Maybe the teams with the rookie quarterbacks. Have you noticed any changes through the first couple of weeks? I know you said Seattle a little bit. Have you noticed any changes based on the first couple of weeks to the preseason. Season win totals not not a whole heck of a lot of. Texans moved a little bit that Browns moved a little bit of, but Brown's of moved over to that. They started four and a half. They're up to five and a half over Vina's one fifty. Texans move down a little bit, but spreads have moved a little bit, but not not so much this, not too much on the season win totals the action's really move with that a little bit worn. And like I said, and you know, most of the action is yet to come in to you know it. It's even those he's been have been for Bonn. So mean you know, with all the football better turn this week next week in a following week, we've yet the book about eighty percent of the action on these two sewage still a lot of boom at the com.
