"Channel you're listening to an ABC news special copay nineteen what do you need to know B. C. news correspondent Amy Robach and with me as always is ABC chief medical correspondent Dr Jen Ashton and Dr Jenn we've talked a lot about how the hospitals have been inundated a force with covert nineteen patients and so so many people across the country are having to postpone routine treatments among them cancer patients and survivors we now I know how scary it is just to live with that diagnosis but imagine doing that during these times there is a huge impact every year in this country about one point eight million Americans are diagnosed with cancer so that is a huge number of people we also know that early on in this pandemic the American cancer society put out a statement recommending that all routine cancer screenings be temporarily postponed which of course can trigger a lot of fear and anxiety for people and as a result of that we also know now that people who have already been diagnosed with cancer are now facing delays in their treatment so it's a stressful time both medical and psychological I mean for people who are fighting cancer what can they expect to face right now well I think we have to understand that there's a lot we still have to learn about how cancer and COPD at nineteen or this corona virus interacts from already very limited published preliminary data that comes out of China it does appear that people with cancer face a higher risk of death than people without cancer the risk was seven point six percent for people with cancer verses one point four percent of someone without any pre existing medical condition we also think that if someone who is in the process of having treatment for cancer becomes sick with cold at nineteen that we have to prioritize and it's probably a better idea for the cancer treatment to be put on hold and to just manage the corona virus or covert nineteen because cancer treatments can weaken the immune system in and of themselves so we don't want to add salt to the wound wow and and what don't we know right now about how code nineteen affects cancer patients there's still a lot to learn Amy I mean first of all we don't know how this pandemic will play out in terms of affecting new diagnoses of cancer in this country we also don't know if the pandemic will have an effect on mortality rates or death rates either because of delay in treatment for people who already have cancer or because they're getting sicker with covert nineteen and we also don't know how different types of cancer may interact with covert nineteen so for example we don't know if someone battling breast cancer will fare differently with exposure or disease of coronavirus versus someone let's say with colorectal cancer there's still a lot of data that needs to be collected and then studied all right Dr Jen Ashton we will be checking in with you shortly well now to the city of Atlanta and efforts there to ensure those hardest hit by the crisis are not forgotten mayor Keisha lance bottoms has been guiding that charge and she is here with more on what is happening mayor thank you so much for being with us today we appreciate your time and I know you've just put a plan in place to help the homeless in your community it's a population often overlooked how's that going to work thank you for having me and certainly as we're looking at how cold it nineteen I think all of our communities we have to think about our most vulnerable populations including the homeless population we've had an influx of homeless people sleeping in our airport so many businesses are closed where they may go and charging their phones are a grab a bite to eat and really our airport has been the shelter of last resort for so many of them so we set aside over eight million dollars in our city budget to help with these efforts we also recently set aside an additional one point five million dollars looking for philanthropic incorporate matched in that so that not only can we get people held but we can make sure that as we have them in the central location that we are able to provide the supportive services that can help in the cycle of homelessness yeah I'm in terms.

C. and his is doing fantastic but could not be happier but of course I have sponsors I won't lie I am sponsors were like you know what while this is going on some of us can't even be in business or holding off on advertising well these are people who I do endorsements for their business of course that are slowing down you know I got drunk I'll give it to her for example if you're somebody who is like I I was gonna have you know we do that that master bathroom you could be talking to but we're remodeling we could be talking the F. Marber right the flooring people well no one's having people in the house right now do you work for those people aren't aren't levels a standstill great companies great for Indianapolis throw that they're with us but the the advertising changes right and so they hold off well did I I of course get financially impacted there's there's there's no question that that happens all right this is this is what it takes I still support my sponsors I still want them to be back when when we get to opening up the country and certainly opening up Indiana they're going to be right there ready to go to take care of you and your needs the skills for a for all the sponsors that that we have none of the people sleep number they've held off on the arm dis United haven't heard it I agree with them certainly there's an impact but as this this this impact is is going on and is keeps building up there the question is going to be how do you how do you open back up right and that also involves what the house is doing the same is doing on the stimulus bill is two point two trillion dollars but even with all that impact I still want them to read it I don't like this thing at all I know it's going to pass and I don't want you to think otherwise it's going to pass is it possible to speak because you can add some level of of further poison pill on there of course it's possible remember she's not interested in you she's interested in winning I'm gonna say it again she is not interested in you she's just not that into you she is interested in winning that's all she cares about that's all that matters to her so with that you have to know that it's possible for her to add almost anything what I think is gonna happen because she wants the voice vote she wants to get this through C. like this victory we already have members of Congress saying they're gonna be more stimulus packages you have represented Escobar saying we could see a fourth of the six year center bulletin Paul who lied about his Vietnam service saying that there could be a fourth fifth or sixth package remember this is phase three phase one was the eight point three billion dollars on the healthcare side phase two was about paid family leave phase two was about extending unemployment benefits phase three is this two point two trillion with a T. trillion dollar stimulus package which tells people why you're better off staying home and going back to work and people like how dare you you think if you want to tell them they can't have this extra six hundred dollars a week know what I want to say is if people are getting paid more to stay at home they will not go back to work because the human condition has not changed because of coronavirus that doesn't mean that some things won't change because of corona virus one of those changes the Indy five hundred will be run in August now this is a definite or is this hopeful they selected a date Doug Boles he is the president of the in loading up on things from Walmart yeah I use my new Capital One moment rewards card it is unlimited five percent back on everything I buy from Walmart online see what's five percent back five percent what with.

"Of the incredible headlines on curcumin and tell us why you use this and we talk about the software a few minutes ago this patented B. C. M. ninety five formula of curcumin with seven times greater absorption okay well first of all I think well people might not know the term curcumin they may well know turmeric root which is a yellow spice and it shows up in curries and it's part of the five thousand year old Indian hired that X. system of medicine I've been studying tumor Rick and its derivative curcumin since the nineteen seventies and I'll say this right off the bat that there are almost no plant materials in the world has extensively studied is there's a couple of thousand studies can be found in the scientific and medical literature we know that curcumin is powerfully antioxidant we know that it has a remarkable capacity to protect the liver and the liver is our primary detoxifying organ it grew Jaitley enhances joint health so if people are experiencing joint discomfort due to over use this really helps to relieve that and it's also what we call cardio protective it helps to protect the heart it helps to maintain normal healthy cholesterol and one last thing that is really kind of astounding is that curcumin actually causes your body to produce what are called neuro protective factors in the brain so it causes your body to produce these agents in the brain that protect the actual tissue of the nerves in the brain itself there's almost nothing else that we know of that does this specifically the PCM ninety five that you mentioned offers about seven times the absorption of any other curcumin extract so when you take two hundred fifty milligrams of the stuff you get about seven times the activity that you would if you took say a comparable amount of another curcumin extract so this in my opinion is one of the most life enhancing protective totally beneficial substances on earth and it has just decades of scientific and medical studies to back it up yeah Chris I know that we talked already about the green tea in the curcumin in your new green tea C. R. liquid soft gel formula which purities giving away for free today but first tell me about the third nutrient on the lists the respect ritual which is super hot right now share with us some of the headlines and the science behind resveratrol I know it's from red wine and French love it but why is it on your shortlist well written fair trial is one of those remarkable compounds that I just said to shake my head at how many different things it does it is found in grapes in wine grapes it also shows up in cranberries what we know about raise their trolleys that like green tea in also like curcumin extract it's profoundly anti Occident but more than that it shows significant properties when you look at some of the things in the body that happened during aging as a result of fat accumulation in tissue and insulin sensitivity respiratory all helps to protect against those things it's a powerful immune regulator and you know our means system is responsible for keeping us healthy it is remarkably beneficial for the heart and this is why it's considered one of the keys to the so called French paradox in of the French drink a lot of red wine they eat a lot of cheese they smoke cigarettes and they stay slim and they have good cardiovascular health which just seems completely unfair but Rivera troll appears to be key in that and additionally there is a brain benefit like there is with the curcumin with blood flow to the brain so when you take rest Vera trawl you get brain blood flow this means you get more oxygen to the tissues of the brain your brain cells stay healthier longer your mind is clear sharp and focused so this is on my short list for all those reasons and for about a dozen more that would just plain take too long to explain right again we're talking with Chris Kilham also known as the Indiana Jones of natural medicine sometimes called the medicine hunter as well Chris let's laser in on how this wonderful formula that you created in conjunction with purity products I know the purities been in business now for what is over twenty years they've got a top rating from the better business bureau and people can get a complimentary bottle of this green tea C. R. today will give that number out in a few minutes but first what does the C. R. stay informed second you designed this formula in a liquid soft gel why do you like the liquid soft gel technologies so much okay first question first it's called green tea C. R. which is short for green tea curcumin and resveratrol the big three ingredients that are in this product and meaningful protective amount the reason that it's in a liquid soft gel is that that allows for rapid and very complete absorption I'm not suggesting that there's anything wrong with tablets or capsules that contain powders because there isn't but when you have a fluid soft gel you just happened to get more quick break down of the capsule more rapid absorption and to some extent more complete absorption into the intestines that means that your body utilizes more of the ingredients in the supplements so green tea C. R. as green tea curcumin and resveratrol and the reason for a liquid soft gel is it just a superior dosage form especially for these three particular ingredients yeah Chris before tell our listeners how they get their very own complimentary bottle of green tea C. R. tell me this if you wanted to buy this green tea plus the patented B. C. M. ninety five curcumin plus the rest Vera trawl I mean you spend close to probably at least seventy five dollars for all three bottles in the store and yet today purity products is giving away a free bottle how are they able to do this well you can consider it kind of a smart bat and what I mean by that first of all these big but they're also very strategic they know that if a person who's listening will pick up the phone call in and get their free bottle and it really is free as in free and it doesn't cost you money if that person will try the product take it as recommended they're going to feel it and when they feel that they're going to say Gee I want this as part of my regular daily regimen so he's really betting beyond the free bottle they are betting that people will have a positive experience but the saying gosh I like this I love the way I feel on green tea C. R. and they'll order more so from the standpoint I have to say it isn't much of a risk at all please hold I thought I want to get.

"Happy new year with less to the B. B. C. was specialists in major areas of the news and all this week some of our experts have been taking us through their predictions for the for the areas in twenty twenty we know there's gonna be some great science stories to report because we always have I was on the program but this is something brother more expert and accuracy on science among global science correspondent Rebecca morale this is going to be a critical yet for climate change in twenty twenty nations will be revealing how the intense caught they greenhouse gas emissions which means we'll find out if that commitments ambitious enough to stop the worst effects of climate change at the moment what countries are doing is falling a fall short confined to say the window of opportunity to act is closing fast it will come to a head at the next round of you and climate negotiations which will be held in girls guy in Scotland in space it's going to be all about malls they're a full missions planned the United Arab Emirates as sending an old with a to study the Martian atmosphere China's going to but they're heading for the surface while Europe and Russia have joined forces with the land that Andre but named off to DNA pine it Rosalyn Franklin and then there's nothing here in addition to settle down right about all say bring along a mini helicopter a fast for the red planet back on earth a big focus will be on nature off the back of a major reports warning that one million pounds and animal species are threatened with extinction nations will be meeting at the convention of biological divest city OCB date in China they'll try to work out how to address the devastating impact that humans are having on the natural world and is this the year that will finally shed light on dark Massa this mysterious stuff makes up a quarter of the universe but no one has ever seen it no two major underground experiments in the US and Europe will ramp up the set scientists say find it could transform our understanding of the universe and in twenty twenty both Boeing and SpaceX all aiming stake passengers to the international space station it's possible not says a big push for an all American human space flight program which has been on hold since they were tight the shuttle fleet in twenty eleven we'll see whether it's Boeing all SpaceX he flies fast but the hope is it will ultimately pave the way for the nationals to the main animals and scientists will be keeping a close eye on and talk to cast a vote last crack is opening up on the front I sheets I'm gonna Vinci creates an iceberg the size of greater London the bridge some taught success by his forty how to remove its for such base so it doesn't end up being dumped in the ocean the BBC's Rebecca morale look for the conversations about doc Massa in twenty twenty two that was on that tomorrow global health correspondent does the same thing gray sons we have on the program but also remarkable office kind of point you towards the interview that we did early with the great count to ten and a show on our website he is another great musician Mao Fujita rising classical pianist from Japan he's twenty one he's one lots of the world's top prize is already is performing across Europe had a chance to catch up with him he's been telling me about the piano came into his life fast we own the house on an acoustic piano at home still ID members that I was nearly hope you bring up a dock close to pee on a list did you put to our house I was on hand for years which even was then to touch on the tour I needed some manner of near piano it was my first time to test a paean what is a new piano smell like does it have a special smell or a special touch you know like a new car smells like a new car is it the same with the PLO yes I think so it yes I own new phrases cosco appear on the road is Sam must now also I threw a some Japanese home use and be easy because when you were young how many hours a day did you have to practice practiced for several a total wuss because my school ended two in the evening so I hope times to practice my teacher gave me a note to last time ends for the pieces of bark more tense it's open some years you also and sensual planes piece I've fabled itches form show fund I need a question if the soul of the assignment and how much do you practice now do you practice a little less now that you are sort of so successful are getting more works is the total was in today because I have some need to do this because I have so many clinches and so many in the site does and what do you most like what speaks to you most when you are playing it maybe the remarks of Mozer because.

"Dollars you can make it let's check federal and find the perfect holiday recipe by board is the one that we go A. B. C.'s Tom rivers stands by good morning dom air more tomorrow all right the ground cover here we had the boards is big win correct yep yeah you got a landslide old bull survey is going to be a majority but a fairly narrow majority not the case for look and we got a couple of feet still counting but we're looking at about a majority but eighty three which is which is pretty pretty bare the biggest the conservative party of you say victory this is Margaret Thatcher back in eighty seven so the bottom line here is he says all of U. K. out of the E. U. by the end of next month then after trade deals at the put together and the other wrinkle in this is is this what this is Scott when in a position where they might wanna leave the U. K. as a result of this vote yeah well it made it very very well the Scottish National Party they've got a problem thirty five feet back in two thousand seventeen two years ago they're up to fifty of the fifty nine seats so that's going to reinvigorate their push for independence because they they they did not vote to leave they voted strongly to remain in the referendum and with this big push now in this majority for Boris Johnson they're saying we might have a referendum and see if we can hook up with the European Union and say goodbye to the United Kingdom so interesting interesting political dynamics the next couple years here other than wanting to remain in the European Union what the what did the Scots not like about being part of the U. K. basically they like the the fact that the all of the rules in the U. the they kind of have a you have a unity there they like the fact that you can have a free movement of people except Rick Santorum they don't like being dictated in the home from London and that's what they see basically whenever they get new prime minister and they see it as if you will policy for England but not policy for Scotland and they're they're really proud up and they have been for quite a long time that referendum a few years ago now was narrowly defeated but again the tide may be turning it will sell the next year or two it looks like they they could just say everything's changed the the UK is out of the European Union and we're gonna make a block break and we're going to we're going to rejoin the European Union fascinating that cover if in fact that was to be the cakes or now in London have they lost jobs in the banking industry they talk about all the banking industry would probably get out alone then go back to Frankford if the if the the vote was to leave the E. you have a some of that happened already you know they're been contingency plans so there been like harbor kind of buildings that set up in places like Frankford and in Dublin Sadat very scenario but for the most part no the jobs remain here on but you're absolutely right when this thing is all down and dusted when the withdrawal agreement is signed on the thirty first of January that's the only step one of about you know fifty nine steps so it's going to take more more years down the road to to accomplish a clean break and then set up the new structures with the European Union and the rest of the world at that point further down the road yes there could be job losses in a number of sectors including the financial sector okay all right let's not a fantastic weekend they're dumb rivers and we'll we'll check next time take care audio system news in a minute tri state for buyers the year end sales of that is here it happens only once a year you're invited to save at my casters deported Milford and Alexandria for buyers hi.

"Morning how are you I'm doing well now that you're here because I got a lot of stuff I want to ask about first of all in B. C. comes out with this bomb shell video this week it's Donald Trump nineteen ninety two Mar a Lago with Jeffrey abstain their NFL cheerleaders you know the interesting thing about this jam a first of all Donald Trump invited the NBC cameras in nineteen ninety two to Mar a Lago to take these pictures it was all part of a very favorable piece that was aired on NBC in nineteen ninety two and now it's bomb shell video talk to us about this yes no I I I just think NBC's just clapping their hands because the images of Donald Trump with beautiful women is gonna make his supporters stop supporting them you know I mean it yeah it's amazing I these people who like the road runner cartoons there are just obsessed with getting him and you go to point of amazing if they're reporting on a serial killer always will say as taught in journalism school an alleged killer but when the reporting on the president of the United States base talk about his role racist rhetoric and they and they just basically come to a huge conclusion or a language now he's a racist president over this I find it fascinating that the media and the Democrats when discussing up president trump and they have done this over the years when the myth of rusher collusion was being covered twenty four seven one of those statements we often heard was no one is above the law no one is above the law even the president United States well except for a legal alien they're above the law free weights it is it's just it's a strange dichotomy also course it's me it's been a one trick pony you know with the odd squad odd that the idea of that there's a select always a knee jerk reaction the one who criticizes anyone right there are races the races the assault Nancy Pelosi was referred to as a race right Brett Kavanaugh was a racist I mean Mitt Romney was even a racist when he ran and so this group of of women that it's their first year there like almost a little bit above the interns their freshman congressman but they just always respond with with the racist finger and the end and that seems to be at all there is credible reporting about Johan Omar committing marriage fraud right allegedly yes and whenever she's asked those questions she called the questions ridiculous right racism so it's just a collector it's a cloak you know the race card isn't good to have in the Democrats hand with an upcoming election if that's all they're doing you know racist **** bigot fascist homophobe and they're offering no ideas with the track record of the president it seems like they're just laying down of formula of for all logs yeah formula for failure and and then Jim I have to ask you about this because you observe this and you really are able to parse through the through the rhetoric can get out of the fax what I think what Donald Trump did was masterful because it would seem as if he made the squad the new face of the Democrat party well absolutely yeah I guess well you know a lot of people been debating this here is is the president if he really is he someone who really doesn't know what he's doing and he trusts gave a the Democratic Party by uniting them at a time they were divided that that's one of the strange with probably more common strain initially that kind of thinking and they never call centers like National Review but the other is that the president is playing shows swallows opponents are pulling tractors and point and if there was ever a time where we saw that it was when the squad got together and did their press conference because even Democrats were remarking that that was going to Paris mint one of the first things out of their mouths was he the impeachment and Russian collusion better check they sounded like they were writing the next Rachel Maddow our show is it didn't you know we just didn't appear to relate to the American people and and and they appear to be not just out of the mainstream what sort of out of the same string good to know they just yeah so it so it's not just that they were you could you have here right AT the the president appears to be strategizing he here in his rally his campaign rallies preachers he really seems to be enjoying himself all which is subject matter and he's sort of he's created the narrative and and put the focus on them which really makes things tough for the Democrats and for Nancy Pelosi you can read.
