"Hitting Texas right now. And Phylicia, you know, in this age of the virus the scammers have taken. This is an opportunity to find new weaknesses. New in the armor. So to speak, And what this means is that you know, as consumers we need organizations like the BBB, the better business Bureau Now more than ever, So I welcome you to the broadcast. Please update us on what is going on out there. Thank you so much. You know, they need you more than ever to pee because we cannot get enough information out there. What scammers they're doing. And anytime there's any kind of commotion or disaster or big news story, we always see this camera's take advantage. So you know there's no different right now. We're gonna go through as I understand it, Felicia, the top five, So these air based on here in the state of Texas, apparently scams that are out there in in great numbers, So I guess take us from number five to number one. If you would absolutely, you know, we've We've got the top five worst that we always like to tell people about. But in the era of Cove it you know it's some of them are the same. But they all have a little slightly different hook. So I'm going to go from from 5 to 1. Like you said. So one of the ones that that's really hot right now is government imposters camps on you've heard this. Everybody knows about this. You're gonna get letters calls text messages from government agencies. But in the era of covert the thing that's different Is that they're gonna be agencies that you haven't really could from yet. So if you get a text message from the CD fee, you know it's fake. The CDC is not going to send you a text a lot of times with you stimulus checks and we may have more stimulus checks coming down the pipeline. People have gotten context from the Treasury Department. In those cases, you know you're not going to be expecting to hear from them, so just disregard. Disregard all right on and then this one is a really terrible one right now. In particular, you know, I could go on for ages about it, but online purchase scams. So you know, it's always been hot. But right now in the air of covert, those scammers are really playing on the fact that everybody's ordering everything online from groceries, tow cars and trucks that everything is online now, so we're finding that Big pop of websites are huge issue on Ben. People are using social media tol hook you and thinking you're going to get a really good deal for all those clerks wife she's been trying to get since March. So watch out for those two and then you know, we've talked about this before so many times, but phishing scams. There's a lot of phishing scams going on right now that are super Covitz specific. So again we talked about you know how people will see these weird emails coming from the I R S C. D. C So because everybody is on high alert. If they get an email that seems urgent. People are letting down their guard. They're just clicking on it. And the scammers are using that to hack into your computers and install now where and whatnot So if you really careful when you're clicking on links Anywhere, and the other thing I want to tell people is don't think that it's just gonna happen. An email. Any device that can have access to the Internet is vulnerable, like my in laws got their TV hacked their smart TV hacked, so watch out, everybody. Anything that's a smart device can definitely be subject to fishing and hacking. And then also, you guys, oddly enough sweepstakes and lotteries scams have made a recurrence, which was really weird. I guess everybody's looking for a pick me up people of the work and the scammers are sending people these. You won $12 million, you know, or sweepstakes clearing house. They're using a lot, too. You know the ones with the patrols that you're expecting people to see coming. They're telling people that because of Cove it they can't stop by with that giant checks that they're just gonna mail it Studio. And people are believing it. So watch out for those lotteries and those sweepstakes scams because during covert, they're finding ways to get people to think that it's real when it's not, and then the number one scam that's going on right now, which is really heartbreaking. Pete is employment scam and the employment scams are on the rise because you know the economy is making, you know a comeback and we're re opening, which is wonderful that people are starting a new businesses, but they're still people that have been furloughed or Out of work for a little while and are looking for jobs. The scammers know that so they've put a lot of fake job postings out there, and they've told people they can work from home, which is really enticing for people right now. So before you fill out that job application online contact better Business Bureau Ask us whether or not that's a real company and then make sure that job posting is real because the scammers your stuff in a lot of real cos names knowing that people are out there looking for For jobs and for work. Well, Felicia, Thanks for being with us tonight, Felicia Clark, the B B B Better Business Bureau and a great resource here.

"I've been stepping back and looking at the data. Yeah, yeah. But what I'm saying is You know, we're still dealing with it s O. Many companies are that have people that are occupying the business with? You know somebody will test positive And then you got to, you know, go back back down to 50% in the building. It was something like that It does affect everybody. It is a problem it I can kind of understand why that would that might seem really, really backward and seem, you know, just like it's really infringing upon your rights in a lot of ways to require you be vaccinated to go to work. I can understand that point of view, but I see I understand the reasons why I just don't understand why I need to get a shot for something. That's 98 point percent recoverable. Well, that Z. It's up to you. I'm not die about it is up to you have no cold morbidity ease. I got a little bit of Pudge around the middle. That's about it. But I'm losing it. Thanks to the sitter at home Weight loss book. Amazing, But you know if my employer says, Yeah, Todd, you need to get it to come back in the building. I go. Okay, I'll do it understand the only way that's the only way I understand why people would be resistant to that. But I also understand the reasons for the request. If that's what it turns out, I mean, we're not You and I are not first in line anyway. It'll be most before it would be available. And by that time, maybe there's you know some more science and more data behind it, and we will have the benefit of a lot of science and data. By that point, we will have a lot of data. By the time they get around that we already have a lot of dad and science. Yeah, right. We do. But 99.8% recoverable and people have to get in line. I don't. It just seems that just maybe I think what it is the reason I'm thinking this way this morning because I was out in the hill country all weekend. There's a there's a protective dome in the hill country. Apparently so few people wearing masks, man very few cases very few cases. Well, I know I know. I was in a couple of restaurants over the weekend, the backyard barbecue. Out there. Just not the Fredericksburg. Beautiful place. Amazing food. Good car. Amazing barbecue. Great service, India. People, you know, wearing a mask walking in and you know, but it was a pact place, but just being out in the hill country where we're free People live. No, I know I did. I told you when I played in Fredericksburg. I mean, the thing I said, get in the secret attention of a half and half deal. Got a text message here. Won't people just say they got the vaccine so they don't have to wear the mask. Okay, Well, that's the thing If you're concerned, then get the shot. Well, uh, yes, right. I'm just saying, if if, if if proof of having a shot is gonna be required in certain situations, Me just saying it. I don't think it's going to be enough because, as the caller says, texture, says that people will lie. They will. They will lie. And so I just They say, I have to have some kind of little certificate card or something. So be it. So be it. Yeah, I I'll play along, right? Yeah, and I have a problem with that. That's just just fundamentally, just I'll get it. I'll play along and just fundamentally have a problem with that. Well, maybe there's just too much Texan in me. Too much. You know, liberty and may maybe that's what it is. Okay, well, what Whatever it is, I understand your reasons for that. I'm just saying in certain situations, and we don't know we don't know what what it's gonna be like, But right now, Wes, we said here today I can see where that might cause you some some some problems. I have no problems. No problems at all. You're the one that has a problem with people who don't get the vaccine. I have no problem at all. Uh, Don't understand not getting the vaccine, but it's your It's your right. And you all can just stay out there and infect each other all day long and have a great director. I did not say I'm not getting it back, so I know I know you're gonna get it. Yeah, I don't want to get it right. But I will if my employer demands it and and they better ask nicely, the tide of don show Hey, listen, the most trusted Rufer in Austin, Texas for Kylie over as well since 1979 so 41 years Now it's Jake on roofing. You've heard of him because I talk about him so much I love talking about Jake. Condo love talking about quality quality companies that do a quality product and that is the roof from J. Con. They also do a great job. They're also very we're very known for their inspections, and a lot of roofing companies will offer free inspections. That's nothing new. But what I observed with J Con is that it is not about trying to sell you something. They don't get out there and look for an excuse to sell you something When they inspect your rough. It is all about inspecting the roof. And for me cut my experience has been a couple of times. I do this every two years. I've been doing it for over 10 years now, eyes that if they get up there and they don't see anything, they shoot straight with you. They don't try to sell you something. If you don't need something, that's why when they do make a recommendation. I do trust their recommendation. If they say Listen, you need a little repair here. Little repair there, or even if they said it's time for a new roof. I was 100% trust that because it's coming from Jake on. These guys shoot straight with you and nobody does it better. That's when they have an A plus rating from the B B B J Con +51247905. 10. New brakes. All your food is out there. I'm unwrapping a McDonald's steak, egg and cheese bagel. Look at this steak and the juice running down the side got a little bit on the wrapper here and then the fluffy egg and real cheese for total aside, looking just so good. Mm. Grilled onions on about a bagel. Two thumbs up from a Donald steak, egg and cheese bagel for breakfast. Love it more bump up, uh, participate in McDonald's. Have been fed..

"You missed our last segment, you miss the news that we're gonna be expanding the mark and Rob show to nine to noon starting January, 4th. S O. That is really exciting. And you also miss the fact that Rob did not bother to ask me how I'm feeling. I don't want to say very hurtful. Well, it's like I want to say it's because I don't care but the level to which I care. I feel like you'll alert me because people yesterday we're going. You need to get going, Mac, come here. You know, if you're dying, you'll let me know if not, I'll just assume everything's going to plan and I'll see it a week and a half. Oh, you know, I still haven't been told when I can come back have no idea what my return date actually is so But I did want to announce that I have a new symptom because and a lot of people were asking me and Daisy about this in our Facebook live video. Yesterday They were asking if I'd lost the sense of taste and smell And I wasn't sure yesterday if that was the case, because I've been You know, I've been like sucking on these lozenges, the zinc lozenges so much that so I felt like, you know, there's like this numbing sort of factor that that comes with those last lozenges. And I was attributing it to that, But But now I know, Um yeah, I definitely don't taste things. So that's kind of a pain. B b B b B. But let's back that up. When you say you don't taste things like yeah, like Anything? Well, yeah, like the I don't. It's very, very strange. So I'm super hungry. I have. I have not lost my appetite That's still intact. Unfortunately, um, And so last night, for example, my husband had brought home some dinner from the grocery store and I had salmon and green beans and like mashed potatoes, things that I really love. And everything was tasteless. So like I could I obviously have a sense of the texture of food. Still, that's not a problem. Not like my mouth is numb. But there's everything tastes the same like or it's everything just sort of doesn't have a taste. It's really weird, and it's super frustrating because then I was like, well. Surely there's going to be some stand by things like I love Oreos, Right? Like, Surely I'm going to be able to taste an Oreo. No, I got nothing. I did not taste the Oreo. It's so frustrating. So it a weird way. It would be an opportunity for you to eat healthy because of everything tastes the same. You really have no excuse. That is a really good way to look at it. Unfortunately, I am not doing that. Because I keep holding out hope that maybe this maybe this, you know piece of candy or this cupcake, I will be able to taste I've been tested out. No. Do you find any? I mean, other than that, Like so, like, Oh, gosh. It was so hard to get out of bed this morning or it's hard to walk around the house serving anything like that. I am very tired, like yesterday. Yeah. Yesterday I took a nap in the afternoon. And it was probably two hours. You know that I that I slept in the afternoon and I just I don't feel like I have the same level of energy. But I don't feel like I sound quite a stuffy. I know I don't sound normal, but I don't think I sound quite a stuffy as I did yesterday. So that maybe is an improvement. But I don't know it's it's every day brings a new, exciting discovery. So T o yesterday. It was the lack of taste. And who knows what it'll be today? Are you worried at all? Like do you sit there and go? I'm worried. This is going to get progressively worse. Or do you feel because you could be a lot of times with your body? You can internally kind of just feel where you're at with them with an illness, right? Like it's coming on. I'm in the middle of it. I'm over the crest like Are you worried about it? Where do you feel you're at with this illness. Don't you know I'm a pretty positive person. So I'm not really worried for myself, because I don't feel bad enough to be worried. I guess Now if I get you know if I do get worse than Yeah, that'll be a worry. I'm a person who has asthma. So that's you know, I already have one of those risk factors or whatever. Um, but I just don't I don't feel bad enough to worry right now. Now, when I listen to the news, and I hear about all the hospitalizations and I hear about the death toll, you know it, Zob Vesely concern And there are people who really suffer from this a lot more than I am. Um And you know when we know that there's certain people who have co morbidity is and whatnot, so right now I feel very lucky. I mean, I feel very lucky that it's it seems to be a mild dish case. Um, and so I just have to hope. That it stays that way. And I don't know. I don't know where I am in the course of the illness again. I didn't have any symptoms at all until this past Saturday, and then by Monday morning, I actually thought, Oh, the worst is over. But I still haven't. I've not really made any progress like I don't think I've gotten any better, and I don't think I've gotten terribly worse. So that's where I am right now talking somebody else in the building yesterday and I said, it's truly amazing that that we've had two people now you and someone else who have come down with this. In the past basically week and and it's amazing that is close confines as we are, and as we you know, we share microphones and things like that. It really does go to the level of the seriousness of which people in our building of taking this wiping things down cleaning things, etcetera that it really took nine months for someone in this immediate sphere. To come back anything and they didn't spread like wildfire because both of the people who got it. You and the other person were out of the building that week when they came down with it, so yeah, and I didn't have any contact with that person. And so you know, we obviously got it from different places. It's bizarre. I think we're going to do voicemails next. And then we got to get to this James O'Keefe story too. Ever. Nigel here, guys prioritizing your health. Now is.

Want to remind you folks that you know, we had some really heavy rain just a couple weeks ago. Or maybe it was just last week, but really heavy, really heavy rain. So if you had a leak, or you're not sure what's going on up on that roof? You got to have Jake Khan. Come look at your roof Need to do that is ah, part of your routine. Every couple of years. I do it. And what I found is it's going to make you rough last longer, because they take care of little issues and they're able to maintain your roof longer on and listen. Let's face it. Roofs are cheap. So if you could do that great, and the inspection is free, so if they don't find a problem, you've got a lot of peace of mind. And you're out. No money. But let me tell you, Jake on if they recommend a minor repair you, Khun Trust that that is needed. They never try to sell you anything you don't need If it's time for a renew roof they can. They can, of course, do it better than anyone and they have for 40 years now and let me tell you what you can recommend. If they do recommend a new roof. You can trust that recommendation. Rice is probably the best right now.
