"So jeffer-. I wanna start off with certain difference between doing business with the data center versus doing business at the edge. I know that the hardware you folks are working on. Is you know what i think. Most people think hardware. They think about the big rack sitting somewhere in the data center the edges different the edges. New it's its burgeoning. How do you define the edge when you talk to people. Because i think people always think about those racks but it's clearly a blooming ecosystem. Yeah well azusa terms of different people defined differently but where we basically look at businesses any system. Outside of the data center there can be things like cellphones stations in verizon stations that are kind of in between what we're looking at your robots this. He'll cars field ultrasound systems in the field. So these are systems that are separated in well removed from today's yet. Okay and and obviously pretty wide. Berth as to what that could be almost any industry this this could be applied retail. You've got cameras energy you've got i don't know some some big turbine out there. You know generating some power killing in occasional bird. You know it's pretty pretty vast swath of of what what can imply does that. Broad world of edge cluster. In any interesting ways. I think industry would be one that makes sense. Maybe you can talk a bit about that but we also use case what you see edge sort of us for a certain way tammy how do you think about this whole new space. Those of us at home. it's it's sort of. It's new it's novel but how we want to break it up. Well we're just touching the top of the iceberg so we've engaged with a lot of customers see a lot martin's segments and they have different potential sizes so one obvious one is countered. There's cameras all over the place. You mentioned walmart's wells fargo's there's cameras today wired into servers in the back offices of these places and serve servers not in the data center and right now those cameras us recording video in case somebody shoplift something that got her the tape. Now they can add inference start tracking their stores checking buying behavior along the lines along the take to get through the lines things like that. So that's an application where you need object detection and recognition similarly when you're talking about robots robots moving around into distribution for a warehouse. They need to know you know what. Say iraq to put things on. What's the what's the person to make sure you don't get them. Yeah so you're detecting. You're recognizing them taking action appropriately. Same thing happens with cars so those are all object detection recognition models like yolo the three which do an excellent job of doing that. Which are people are flying now and we see medical imaging and there's many types of limiting there's crazy. Mri machines are much less expensive or numerous ultrasound. Machines x-ray cd stamps and stuff in between so there with the people are using models for his more specialized object detection recognition typically. You're standing your knee. It's stuck in there. It's not moving but you're looking to detect some anomalies in the x ray on the ultrasound. South is the baby. Ok is the got busted acl. So it's helping. The radiologist do occur. Job of diagnosing powell. That's what those kinds of models need to be doing. Things like Scientists gamma joining or life sciences. And they are in many cases what they're doing is looking to clean up images using network approaches through extraneous information clarify the. Which if you've ever seen like an ultra sounds like i just recently hasn't surgery. The doctors were trying to find a vein of the my shoulder. I can see the ultrasound. They were looking at a teaching hospital. And i couldn't tell what they said when they when they started a doctor they couldn't tell was on either but eventually they figured it out so these ultrasounds are hard to make out in. Computers can make better judgments which results in better outcomes says. A wide range of applications are seeing for inference models. I think we're just scratching. The surface gets more powerful and cheaper is going to go into more more more systems.

Nature: Disconnect to Reconnect
"We are your host. This is how we came here. My name is real Vin and this is a podcast about Brown men talking about issues that matter to you. We talk about things that we don't usually talk about in home and communities were just three regular Compass sharing our experiences to inspire positive change. Compa pull up a seat. We have one ready for you. Welcome back to Los compas Lowndes and we have yet another topic. It's almost it's interesting. The the last the last topic was brown men in the ITP and you know, sometimes you got you got to just get away from that screen, you know, and you gotta get away from just everything that's going on, you know going on in the neighborhood man, and and I know off for for the school psaki, you know, one big one way that we do it is by just going out into nature man. It's a way to disconnect and Thursday at least for me to recharge and reconnect, you know, so but one thing that I always see, you know that I that I always observe is that I'm usually the only Chicano out them, you know, usually the only brown man out out there in nature, you know, whether whether it's going to ston a you know, a little four hour hike or going camping, you know, yep. Going for the Deep ones like, you know going, you know going into the national parks and everything. It seems like I'm usually the only brown person there or you know, the the small brown community that I go with, you know home and that's always hurt me, you know, and I don't know if about you guys if you noticed that or you know, if you even you know, if you know, but that's a good what do you guys think about? Yeah, that's a good way to look at this stuff. It's like very interesting kind of twist our topic on the outdoors experience for for all people, right? And then sometimes you don't think about it. But but yeah, that's something we can dig into in terms of like why are there so few of us, you know, maybe maybe there's a secret place that we're not aware of and we're not invited but but you know, I certainly like to think that the outdoors experience is open to all people regardless of your shade of Cutler, but that's that's certainly something that I've experienced and I've looked at as well and it's funny how you said, you know, we lost one passes all about connecting. But sometimes we need to disconnect to connect right, you know connecting in a different format. So I think that's really awesome. So for me for sure getting out there, it's beautiful. I think blogging I haven't done it in a while and especially during this pandemic, you know, there's no way we're getting out there with the kids. But you know, I think about hiking or I think about the outdoors as just an odd been space and opportunity to reconnect with nature, right or reconnect with Earth. What what is out there for us and what can we take advantage as individuals and as fathers and husbands and family men to get out there with our kids and expose them to all the beauty that nature has to offer. So when I think about that I think about it long terms of an opportunity to get out and opportunity to disconnect an opportunity to expose my children to something very beautiful, you know, whether it's the mountains the beaches or off. Or any other outdoor activity when I really like when I go up there is there's no even if you want to use your phone sometimes I mean, you can't change it. So nobody's going to interrupt you, you know, like there's this this place. I like to go camping and it's like it's in a canyon, you know, so you're surrounded by mountains and there's no way that you could call anybody. You know, you're just you're just strep right there. But I mean actually right now as I'm saying that I was able to hack the system one time when how long in there because my car has OnStar, you know, and I started that satellite and then I remember when time just just to see if I could do it, you know, I was actually able to make a call from from my OnStar in my truck, you know, but other than that when I take like my kids and then all of a sudden they're they're phone stopped stopped working wage. You know that my phone. Yep, that's how it is. You know, I mean, it's like well we'll go deep into the I like going like deep into where where it's like deep in the mountains, you know, cuz I was going to say that like I've noticed right now. Okay. I'm thinking of this one place in particular in Azusa where there's a like a creek and I do notice that there's a lot of a lot of us are a lot of Latinos right there, you know along the creek in the other example, you know, like they go right there and and you know, take their food and right there, you know, and that's a big choice because we were kids. I remember my uncle used to take us to the radio was called to say that I remember to somebody real little too will take your Hibachi Little Grill and then and it's funny really, we would my my father and my uncles and they will get the six packs back. You know, they had the six packs of a Bud Light or Budweiser and it put them inside there. He'll cuz a while so cold. Yeah, that was dead. Journeymen and you know it was cool. It would be in the Real by you know, taking nice little cold dip in there and then the the senioritis and the seals and the father's would be like cracking the sword the beers and I thought yeah, there's cool. You know, it's family you brings you bait. They they they they took an opportunity to expose us as little kids to you know, something like that are six packs on put on a river.

"How does ice determined bail? That's what I was. I was hoping you two could figure that out. It has to do with detainers. Here's what Here's how it used to work. If ice wanted somebody for any reason, if they had a criminal case against them, or they just wanted to put them into deportation. They would do what we called lodging a detainer and it's basically Hey, county jail. You've got this guy. Do not let him out until we come get him. All right. So what would happen is people would be totally done with their sentences and still sitting in jail, waiting for ice to come get him that was finally ruled to be unconstitutional. You can't incarcerate people. When there's no probable cause of the crime or whatever. So the bait is kind of bail. Part is really secondary to the fact that what was happening as people were being held past their time. That stopped. I I I think that we would lose lady. I would just lost way and Wayne. We just lost you. By the way. The lawsuit was filed back in 2012. This was under Sheriff Lee Baca. So this is this money is going to go, Teo. People clear back then, almost 20 years. That's good Morning. Good morning. Good morning. I had to turn off my radio. Oh, yes. I adore your name, by the way. Just let me know that for sure. I like it. So. So, what's on your mind today? Well, I'm 55 years old and I just I just discovered that my my mom passed away in 2011 and she left them. She left our She left the house to my my olders. My my sister. And I just found out that are selling it and I feel Honey, I I'm quoting onto tangible things I have Ah! A car that's sitting in my garage that no longer running. And I hold on to it for memories. And I think it's the same thing for the for the house. And while I was holding, waiting for you I was thinking about about the, um the commandment idolizing so I'm wondering, I don't know the house and the car. And my is that one of the commandments. Am I doing? Idolising. It certainly can be. But I don't think in the thie description of what you're talking about that this falls into it. This is kind of a part of where hoarding Khun begin. Okay, So for every good thing, think of it this way. The enemy has something a bad version or pollution of it. So or perversion of it, So in passion, there is God in lust. There is the enemy. Can anger there is God enraged. There's thie enemy. In sentimentality. There is God And hoarding. There is the enemy. So if there are my producer Neil's incredibly sentimental T point, we're even getting rid of notes. Seems like you're killing off a part of the person. You know that wrote the note or something. So here's a thought. What you are holding onto is the memories in the things of import to you. It's not the house per se. It's the memories in the house. What I would recommend is if there are things like the car that are too large, too. To legitimately hold on to Is that? What document them? Well, photographs, things that mean something to you, the radio in there or the back seat of the passenger seat or whatever was that had a deep memory. Document those things. Take a piece a legitimate piece and make it into art. Make it into jewelry. Make it into something that is small that you can keep that will remind you that a storyteller People get. Gosh, that's a beautiful bracelet or that wall hanging is unique. I've never seen that and you say, Well, I'll tell you what it ISS and you could do that. That is what I would recommend. That's when It's healthy. If you try unless you're going to restore the car and make it useable again. Or it's going to become some sort of show piece in the backyard with plants or some unless you're going to use it in some way. Then it really is just taking up space, and it's the fear of losing the person or the memory and you won't So keep that in mind as you hold onto these things to find a way to keep them in one form or another. And or notes and things like that to keep a sample of them or some that deal with certain specific Time periods or history, that air of import but not everything. So that's not worshipping its once you get to a point where You know, God is in that cross on your necklace or God is in that ring. Like if every marriage fell apart because a ring was lost, you'd have problems. Ring is merely a symbol of something. So if you lose a ring, it's like There's the superstition. Oh, my gosh. Well, what does that mean about the marriage? No people lose stuff. I'm going to be fine. So it doesn't mean you're killing off. The person of in the memory doesn't mean any of those things. But you confined weighs a nice photograph. Could be put up in the house of it, and you could talk about it when people ask things like that. But you don't need to hold on to the Everything because you're not going to be able to. That's when it becomes a problem. Remember in all this craziness that God has not fallen off his throne. And remember these simple words. I am with you. Always Good morning. Southern California. It is just about nine o'clock Sunday morning. Is it the 16th of August? It is wow. 19 Sheriff, the House whisper builder custom home designer. And for the next two hours, I'm going to be here with you as a friendly voice and your personal guide.

"But you know that's what she talked about she said you know we're storytellers and as drag queens our job is to interpret these songs into stories that are understandable and i think it almost makes me sad we didn't get to see her lips sink before because i would've loved to have seen the stories that she told on the show in that way but i mean i think that's what we're really talking about you know we're talking about her being captivating we're talking about her stage presence it's because she comes up with a way of connecting with the audience through her performance that not everybody is really invested in thinking of or frankly capable of thinking of she's she's so intelligent and she's so artzi and she does it in such a way that is not pretentious had all yeah agreed their sats there's adds the royal skill adam what you're talking now part of what we're talking about here is why i why totally bought peppermint s reveals in her song because she at the time to prepare for the song in know that this is the moment of acute emotional intensity where i can bust this out and get the crowd on their feet i will feel like emerging but the difference is sasha's he will do that through out the song ray and she didn't have one moment it yes exactly will also like i loved i love the the shot of as sasha's like pulling up her wigan all the puddles fall down you cut to the audience and you just see the entire audience and the ad and you like watching azusa and kim or his reaction to it is just as good because they are like are screaming at the top of their lungs but also i love i wish that the camera would also zoom into rues face 'cause i bet you had to be like okay don't show any emotion but at the same time you know one of those eyebrows just started raising out i i wanna i wanna know what was going through shays head when that i gloves came off.
