"Fakes if there is radiant joy emanating from voices that is because the three of us have just sat together in tennis pocus towers and watch england win three to the euro's final a final if something for the first time in all of our lifetimes and more and more so we will very much do our best to make this the tennis podcast because i know there are a lot of people listening the majority of people listening that either. Don't give to either give no hoots or worse than no. Who's all go to other people for their football analysis. Yes that's possible. Yeah so we really will try and make this the tennis podcast. But if the joy and voice isn't in keeping with the with what we're talking about tennis wise than you'll you'll understand why because it's been a raw the jubilant night for for england fans us included but before that jebron at night we spent a whole day watching tennis. And there's there's a whole lot to talk about from men's quarterfinals day. At wimbledon and one leading story she's three-set defeat averge ephedra to heeb her catch. Three sets that culminated in a bagel. Six love set is how roger federal left wimbledon today. Possibly for the last time he tells us he doesn't know if it will be for the last time that is a discussion. I'm sure will end up having. But i've got ahead of myself because i need to ask you both what adjective beginning with. W would you like to prefix wednesday with. I'm not sure mine too loud. But i'm not try look away. Wednesday is eve managed to find two words. Neither of which begin with. W you're out the game matt. I think it's very hard to find a word that sums up all of those matches that we had. If we're if we're leading with the federer. I think is woeful to too harsh. Yes he was he was bad he was bad he was he was pretty well. He was part. But i just feel the day isn't just about him. Okay well not either beginning. W david so people in glass houses and all that my words matt you allowed another. Go weird Okay elaborate well. Russia federal six offset wimbledon. Yes never happened before never happened before. His first six loves anywhere. Since i think one that everyone remembers his his sixth set in on garrison. Fine of two thousand and eight and look. I had virtue federal losing in the quarterfinals of this tournament at the start of the tournament. Him going out. This stage is not a huge surprise in the context of roger. Federer's life over the last eighteen months I think i felt like medvedev. Going out would help him Her catch was still the highest ranked player. He'd he'd faced on his return and her catch played a fantastic match. I think that's probably why you think woeful is is not the right word because her catch was excellent. Today absolutely This was this was a step back from fatter. Think all tournament. It felt like he'd been not progressing rapidly but taking small steps in the right direction and i. I didn't say this performance coming from him. Today he was he was slow. Really slow i thought to the ball is movement was not sharp and whenever he did have the chance to finish the point or was in the right position he just just missed any missed badly. There was some really shocking shocking. Mrs either sort of sprang it wide or dumping it in the middle of the net. It was it was a sad sight to be honest to say yorkshire federal like that so some massively off his game but you know as i said within the context of federer's last eighteen months ident- think should be that surprising. I think federer is kind of his own worst enemy in terms of how we view in. Because if you look at the last time he came back from something he was kind of rejuvinated and better than ever but he said aligns lines damage press conference that he was hoping to be back for last wimbledon. Jobs it didn't happen because a code. But he barely made it to this wimbledon. That's an indication of just how slow and long and drawn out this recovery and rehab is been post two knee surgeries aged. What is he now. Thirty nine it's an entirely different situations what we had a few years ago. such a good point because i- i- pre-tournament predicted that he would make it to the quarterfinals and lease. I think i had amazing to medvedev. Let me down yesterday anyway. And so i shouldn't feel like this but i do. I feel i feel shocked. And really i mean obviously right now i feel utterly jubilant in the immediate aftermath of the federal match i you know i love her catch a really to. I'm so thrilled for him. But surely every tennis fan understands feeling saddened at one of the all time great male player putting in a performance like that on on his core on the court where he is one bowl titles than any other male player is. It's a it's a sad. Sorry sight So trying to put my finger on. Why exactly. I feel the way i do when when i thought something along these lines woods would happen. I didn't i didn't quite know because it sounds like federal something along. These lines might happen as well. He said you know. I i in amongst the sort of yeah. I'm i'm really disappointed. It was nowhere near good enough today. He said about actually did better than i expected. This thing is a massive achievement..

"Good morning to you, my friend Care Bradley coming to Hugh for my morning Walk One more time here valley forge park spectacular morning. I feel so blessed to be able to get out early and. And pull in this era and allow these. Trees to center me and ground me and stabilized me for the work day ahead. So. Wonderful to Kinda beat the day in get out and up. I hope that these walks don't interfere with my, messages? If you feel like it's just too much for me to be walking and talking then let me know Hey Keira sit still will you? I'm happy to do. Today. I WanNa talk to you about the word verge. You may know this already have maybe if you've been following me or read my book on the verge or maybe come to my yoga, Studio Verge Yoga, you may know the story but. I think it's an important one to. To remind you of. And remind me of and that is that the verge averge is a boundary. It's an edge. And it's on the edge. That we change and grow. Being out there on the verge now unfortunately. The expression on the vert. has is used so often in the negative on the verge of a nervous breakdown if you remember that movie. Women on the verge our. Country is on the verge of collapse right but I see it as different. I see it as being. On the edge of change where growth. And flourishing happens. So years ago many many years. My husband went down to the Ecuador to the Amazon and he spent a few weeks with an indigenous tribe. And he? When it came back he told me the story how they would be. Going down these tributaries in. in a canoe CA dugout tree bark right tree trunk. And they would stop. At certain places along the way and they've been pause there. And maybe have a snack or water, but it was at these places where the indigenous. People that he was with would pause to almost pray. And these places these edges of land where to trip tributaries came together is called a verge. and. It's they are on the verge. Research shows animal life and wildlife? Thrive. There on the edge on the boundary where ecosystems come together. There is flourishing. There is thriving. And when I heard that term many many years ago. I thought Oh, my Gosh, I wanNA live on verge. I WANNA live there. I want to know what it feels like to be on the edge of change. To. Be Right there at the precipice of growth in challenge. And so I. named. My Yoga Center in two thousand and four Verge Yoga. For that reason to create a space where people can flourish and thrive. Just. Like that place there on the Amazon. So so much of what I do. And why do it is to? Live right there on the edge. These morning messages for me or Averge 'cause I just go for it. Right. I don't know what's coming out of my mouth I have an idea direction and then then I just write it. Because I trust that right there on the edge. is where I'm going. I may fumble, but it's where growth is happening. So where are the verges in your life? Where do you live on the verge? How do you live on the verge? We can do it mentally. A mental practice, we can do it emotionally immolation ship. Right. Our relationships can be verges where we are called to step up to open up to accept to allow. Or to challenge and physically, of course, we can challenge ourselves physically right there on the verge. Not, blasting ourselves out of the water but just enough so that we start to feel the tremble we start to feel that aliveness and it's they're on the verge my friend where we feel most alive. And this is what I based my whole book on its honestly what I've based my whole professional life on and it's where I live personally I wanna live on the verge and I wanna live on the verge with others. It's it's really part of the makeup of my my new mental wellness business. Where we partners? Are Living Together. In In the space where we are growing tremendously. Where we are thriving and listen if you WANNA work with me. Just reach out that's all you have to do. DM or email and Let's talk about how we live on the verge together. If you have your own verges, let me know I wanNA hear. Where you live on the Verge And let's do that because this is where we come alive when I come alive, you come alive. When you come alive, you help others come alive. and. My Gosh we all need that right

"This absurd averge cast is brought to you by smart water, not satisfied being like other brands. Smart water looked up the clouds and said, we wonder if we can one up mother nature for pure crisper water and guess what they did smell water vapor, distilled from purity, electrolytes for taste, hey, everybody, it's on the verge cast this week's interview episode of Jamie Semenov who's the CEO of ring. It's the smart doorbell security camera company. That's now part of Amazon rings a really interesting story. Actually, it started as a Kickstarter project called door bought, and it became such a success that about five and a half months ago. Amazon actually bought the company, Jamie, and I talked about what rings all about. It's a little surprising. It's us home company. Jimmy, really thinks it's a security company. What it's been like working with Amazon becoming part of that Amazon family of brands, the future of the smart home and how Jamie really thinks. And this to me is crazy. He really thinks that connecting everybody in the neighborhood to one other security cameras will make us all safer. It was pretty wild. Check it out. Here's Jamie seven off ring. All right. We are here with Jamie Semenov. Who is the CEO of ring is that that's the correct title I technically on the legal papers on the CEO, but I'd like to go by chief inventor because it just feels more like who I am. Yeah. Then you don't like your Amazon like he can mostly invent right. It's not like the luxury of being part of the big company like they provide the HR and the snacks for you, and you get to just make stuff. It actually is like that here at Amazon, so I am enjoying that. That's right. Well, thank you saw coming out show. You were Amazon a huge event last week, and they called you out on stage and that was really fun. But I wanna start earlier with ring. So right now ring is part of Amazon make a bunch of products at doorbell security system, floodlights the whole thing. But what I think is really interesting is this started as a Kickstarter called door bought years ago, right? It's even crazier than that. It started as a pre sale crowd fund, but not on Kickstarter because at that time. Kickstarter, wooden accept products that had cameras on them really. So like it goes back to like a time when Kickstarter was even trying to figure itself out, and that's how early it was in this whole thing where we all forget now. But back then like kick start trying to figure itself out. It was putting stuff on it was resetting the rules, and it actually changed the rules that you couldn't have something with a camera. So we actually launched it on our own crowd funding site because there wasn't one that existed at the time that at any scale, indigo go at the time. I don't think any gogo had a campaign over pretty sure even over a million, but probably even well below bat. I mean, so they were there was just really no clear person doing it at the time. That's the fact that you built a little crowd funding platform. This thing could have gone a whole different way. You could have been like that's the business and we kind of the time we would have been just as happy at that time because we really were, you know, figuring stuff out. I mean, it wasn't clearly at that time that this was going to be like the greatest thing ever. I mean, it was doorbell, you know? Yeah. So let's. So you had door Bhatt you crowd funded, it became a success. When did you turn it into ring the the product and the company? So we crowd funded at when we're doing the crowdfunding. We started talking to people and we realized that, you know, my wife was the one who really got me to do it. And she said that made her feel safer at home. As we crowd funded it, we saw there's a lot of people that were saying the same thing like this really like this. This will make me feel safer at home. People are breaking into homes around our neighborhood, and when I'm out in this way, I can talk to them and say like I'm home, and so we realized very quickly that we could actually reduce crime in neighborhoods with us. And so the bigger sort of concept came up when we were doing the crowdfunding. And as soon as that was done, we knew that we had to version to it..

It's on September thirty, six sixteen, thank you, and it's the someday. And the idea of the workshop is that you win a little sake wins. It's integrated too. So it's kind of the more modern averge you learn a little sequences themed around spring suspicion is about the lebeau in the body. It's related to the lever in the goal bladder, and it's related to upward movement. You know, in spring everything starts shooting in blooming in this new growth, Ryan. Sorry, the practices around that theme and it's just it's three hour workshop. But in the workshop, you sort of learn all the concepts related to Chinese medicine in spring, and then you'll saloon like a loom sequence usually about eight or nine moves that all kind of sit together, they forced to give an create this little sequence that you can do it harm in the morning or in the evenings sort of as hungry, as great as that be suitable for. We've become twitching and plus the full. Yeah, you can. It's probably Bitta if you've come to AUSSIE fall and what I also offer for new students is these little sort of me one on ones just started doing these actually, really cool. So people can to class classes, even eventual classified. I contact you and say, hey, a notice the year Nishi bloom. So maybe wanna come in half an hour earlier. We'll sit down and I'll tell you what are the stuff we talked to that today. Right? So he will kind of understand more about the practice so that they can get more out of it. And also people have certain his new stuff going on. They are potentially coming to fall if they want to share that with me, then I can maybe direct them and how they can get more out of the practice. So you won't. He can come to the workshop just straight off. People done it before nor experienced writing. It can be overwhelming, right. Sorry, are kind of would maybe recommend at least one class may be one of those little one on one thing with me up so I can find out more about this. So I guess that's another question how we feel classes at you'll studio, which will lead to compete with just dropping clauses. Yes, so it is most of the classes stroking Kassire's. So casual is most expensive option and there's also passes. So it's cheaper if you buy five passer, Tim pass been most of the classes on the timetable, which is that dropping nature. And then I run the classical courses save to commit to that for the colds. And in this these things like these little workshops in masterclasses and other little things that happen as well. Right? "Big papi another than another hello morgan averge asked the flagship podcast of the verge on a youtube and facebook and instagram in your podcast app because that's also where we are but here we are everywhere whether you are anywhere amihai patel i'm here paul miller is here hello deedar bonus here pay how's it going we are all in totally different places today it's very strange for me yeah the title of this episode will be skype delay i think is were that's we are i think it's amazing that podcasting relies to this day on skype in a way that very few other media industries rely on a single application like if you're a video editors like a big argument between final cut in premier if you are a pdi if you are naughty on genera you can use addition or are logic or what like there's all the stuff protocols but if you may podcasts there's just skype there's i literally nobody ever asked me to be an advocacy and other app skype i wonder if the people at skype and worth is just like a business for them i think it is i feel like it scrape doesn't actually offer anything over any other chat app that you can run on a computer on your phone really accept that you can kind of trust that everybody has it and knows how to use it yeah everybody installed i in two thousand nine in now we all have it in that's the end of it so you don't have to have the conversation of laker are really's facetime reviews this thing readies hang out so the other things it's not just just just you skate that's all it is it's just the default either the podcast over faced ten but the but it was his be in a buddy in was only ever us we never had and guests we didn't need that flexibility the skype provides.

"It it do you guys do it the way that you do it whether it's a fox thing or whether it's averge thing you know and i and i i want you to elaborate on that on on your previous point which is you're not just making the verge but why is it that may in making the verge you wound up making it the way that it is well i mean that's a it's a great question actually i'm it's just as a great question from a water answers um you know thing you're saying them beautiful videos there is a deeply nerdy technology thing that happened that i think all of us take for granted um which is that the technology got wildly better across every metre could media production um so you know we we have a hundred people on our products him here fox media would they make is a software product called chorus the that's if you really think about what the at software it's delivered to you over the web in endured your browser renders it for you but it's it's a piece of software right um and it can do incredible things in those people who develop that software here as they make that software better our writers gain more capability is just as when you use your productivity software and your job review our when it right nifty jersey you get better so there's a huge bet on software being able to amplify talent if vox media that's a huge the buzzfeed is making exactly that same bat that's why they have hundreds of developers rights not all about the front end display of buzzfeed it's not all about yes social sharon facebook a lot of it is how do we build formats and tools to two that we know work in it now hundreds of writers can easily use so that's a huge bad at fox to huge credit bossy.
