Video showing 5 Memphis officers beating a black man is now public tonight that footage was released one day after the officers were charged with murder in the death of Tyree Nichols. This footage shows nickels apparently being held down, struck by the officers and screaming for his mother as police beat the 29 year old FedEx worker for three straight minutes. "Joining us here on the rich eisen show a frequent guest host of this program, NFL media groups, Tom poster. What's up? How are you Tom? You guys are having a blast over there. Come on. It's good to hear. This is great. This is great. I mean, we've gone loopy covering ankles, man. Done loopy. What's the injury report for this weekend? Anybody that's is avante Maddox back for it, and he concerns about lane Johnson. What do you got for me? On the injury front for championship Sunday. Tom. It seems like lane Johnson is going to drag his body through this no matter what. I mean, he did not look between plays like himself. He seemed fine when the game was actually going on, but he's playing with us. I mean, a serious injury right now. The other ones I know that Zach Taylor ruled out a couple of his offensive lineman again. And Jonah Williams for this weekend, that's going to be significant. Going up against the chiefs and maybe the shocking part of this entire deal is the fact that Patrick Mahomes, according to the chiefs as fully participated, taken every rep that he normally would in practice despite a high ankle sprain. We know the history, but Patrick Mahomes, he has played through a lot of different injuries, including a high ankle in the week one of 2019 that didn't stop him from throwing for 443 yards and four touchdowns a week later against the Raiders. He does some superhuman things, but you just have to wonder, are you getting the homes at full tilt or are you getting something like some homes we saw in the Super Bowl a few years ago where you just knew he was trying to do a lot in the body wasn't able to answer the bell point like it normally would. I don't think people are talking about the Bengals offensive line against Frank Clark and Carl Loftus and Chris Jones enough. So they're going to have, once again, some reparations to do up front and that bill's front 7 and what he did can bring, not the chiefs, the chiefs have a better front setting. I mean, we've seen that. Throughout the season. That's pretty big, Tom. No, absolutely. And the teacher really disruptive, that they play that attacking style under Steve spagnolo. And I think that you're certainly going to see them try to exploit those weaknesses. I mean, it's amazing to have the bangles did last week. I correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think they gave up a sack in that game with several guys who had started zero or one games previously. In the course of the season, you have to give credit. I know that we talk. There's been a lot of talk recently about the Bengals coaching staff and the job that as like louan rumo is done, which has been unbelievable what he's done with that defense and other than being a defensive coach. It's hard to imagine why he's not getting head coaching interviews right now. Brian Callahan's Zach Taylor with that offense. One of the key hires that Zach made and he has not made that many staff changes. If you go back, he's never changed out his coordinators. He's made very few physician coach changes, but one he made a couple of years ago was getting Frank Pollock in as the offensive line coach. And when you watch the job that they're doing with all those different combinations, it's fairly remarkable. And I'm sure that Frank and Zack and Brian will have a plan for how they're going to try to neutralize those guys, but make no mistake. You're right. They are a very disruptive front because that chiefs team. Tom palo sero here on the rich eisen show, let's talk coaching front's why Frank Reich, how did he land in Carolina? It's interesting rich because when the Panthers set out on this and you could see it just based on their interview slips, they clearly were focused on, can we get the next Sean mcvay? Can we get the next Matt Lafleur the next up and coming offensive coach, somebody who's really smart, fixed the quarterback 60 offense and go from there. And certainly there was a high degree of interest in the lines offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Penn was supposed to be on a plane. I want to say it was last Thursday at 6 a.m. and he called David tepper or Scott fitter, one of those guys, like 6 o'clock the night before and called the other teams too and just said, I'm not ready. I'm not just I'm not going to be able to do it. I got to go back to Detroit. I want to be there. We're building something special. There were some family dynamics to that too. But really, that was a pivot in the Panthers plans. Then they spent time trying to figure out. They spent time trying to figure out exactly what they were going to do from that point. They continued doing interviews. They eventually got Kellen Moore in for an interview. And that was the only thing really that made them pause at the last second. They really liked Frank Wright. Liked everything he brought to the table. He's based out there. He played quarterback there. He loves that franchise. And it just to kind of was one of those situations where it was the right place at the right time for Frank Reich who also had strong interest from the Cardinals. And even though Frank doesn't qualify in the young category at this point, he is pretty sharp with offense. He'll have a plan on that side of the ball and that's something they've been wanting is now they try to once and for all find that franchise quarterback. What about the spot that he left or was told to leave is Jeff Saturday the FrontRunner? In Indianapolis, you know, I've seen reports around, I don't know if any of them are from you, Tom, but what are you hearing about? What's happening in Indianapolis? There. Jet Saturday is a candidate always has been a candidate for that job, Jim or say likes him a lot and wanted to see him get a fair shake through the interview process.

Eric, thanks very much. 8 minutes here past the hour, our guest is James avante managing director and chief investment officer at center asset management. James, a debate has raged through the weekend about whether or not the FedEx story, the FedEx news, was company specific or a canary in the coal mine. Can we say it's both? Yes, absolutely. I think we are getting the indication with FedEx's announcement that we're going into the next D rating stage of the stock market. We are now moving away or compounding the de rating from interest rate increases and risk premiums increasing to now the EPS D rating stage where companies are going to in essence fess up that earnings are not going to be as strong as expected. You still have consensus S&P earnings positive for the fourth quarter and heading into 2023. So something's got to break here. And I think we're still early on in this bear market. Let's remember, we're only about 6 months and about 20 percentage points down from where the 50 day moving average across the 200 day moving average. And holding with the 2000 to 2002 analog, that time period where the 50 was below the 200 was almost two and three quarters years in the market was down 36%. And it's a lot of consistencies between now and back then. James, are you suggesting that the benchmarks are the member pricing and the recession then? No, not even close. I think you still have the D rating stage coming where earnings need to come down. I think one of the most useful exercises that we do is look at EPS trends and margins from a standard deviation perspective. And what that does is it highlights first off, companies are much more efficient than they've been over the course of history. But the abnormality of the positive standard deviation on earnings and margins over the last few years is starting to come down, particularly as productivity is starting to wane. James, how much of that has been skewed by the amount of share buybacks that have been taking place there? Well, I think buybacks are something that has distorted EPS and that's been a contributing factor. And unfortunately, the new tax regulations which you can put in place actually are net of issuance of securities that are going to be offered in terms of options. So to the extent where the government or the Congress could have done something genuinely curb in essence, the financial shenanigans that we see is simply just a transfer of wealth from shareholders to corporate executives. Unfortunately, they didn't take advantage of that. So the fed sort of missed this story last year. Does it look like they've missed it this year? Will this be a case for the fed of be careful what you wish for? Yeah, unfortunately the fed has created such an amount of volatility by keeping interest rates at zero and essentially

"There's zero question about it. Year 200 new system, talent upgraded, scheduled opposing offense is fall off a cliff. There is a 100% chance of defensive improvement for the eagles. Not even a question. I know Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox are getting up there in age. Word is Graham has looked fantastic in camp and there hasn't been really any signs the Achilles injury suffered early last season is hampering him. Fletcher Cox, you mentioned, is getting up there in age, but he does have Jay von hargrave as Jordan Davis. He has Milton Williams to alleviate some pressure from needing to be all world. That force him to me is one of the most talented interior lines in the NFL. Josh sweat and Derek Barnett were both resigned. They finished top 7 and pass rush win rate a season ago. So again, to your point, sax didn't get there, but there was a ton of pressure. They won those one on one matchups that were evident in the past rush win rate metrics and typically you'll see that regression start to yield more sacks. Hasan Reddick was signed from Carolina. He's had 23 and a half sacks the last two seasons finished top ten and pass rush win rate himself last season, a position we talked about where the eagles don't like allocating resources, whether it's money or draft capital, is linebacker. And because of that linebacker has been a problem area. But suddenly, TJ Edwards, an undrafted linebacker in the 2019 class, has emerged and was fantastic last season. He hasn't really shown to have elite traits, and that's why he wasn't drafted. He was a standout at Wisconsin. It seems like his moxie, right? His ability, his IQ has really kind of carried over here. And if you look at TJ Edwards last season as a plus linebacker in every facet of the game, whether it was stuffing runs to coverage to pressure to tackling, he was damn good, and we're not a campus TJ Edwards has been the most impressive defender of this off season really taken on that leadership role from the middle of the defense. Then the eagles went out and made an affordable signing with kazir Y I believe he was a one year $3 million deal. They went out, drafted nicobi dean. Now to this point, this probably won't make eagles fans happy. And again, it's very early, we're like ten days in the camp. Kobe dean hasn't flashed yet. Just not making any place. We'll see what unfolds there over the next couple of months. Hopefully he can be a contributor this season. The eagles secondary, I think, upgraded in both starter quality and depth slaying Bradbury is a really nice one, two combo. It was shocking to me. Bradbury's market wasn't higher than one year, 7.2 million. Bradbury right now. Number one, in forced incompletions over the last two seasons. He fits Jonathan ganon's nickel system better than what the Giants were running. Slay as you alluded to had a very nice bounce back season, finished 16th and adjusted yards allowed per coverage snap, avante Maddox really shine last season in his slot role that now that that's a little bit more defined, finished 18th and adjusted yards allowed per coverage snap. He has a sure fire tackler as well last year. I don't think Anthony Harris is ever going to recreate his prime years in Minnesota at age 31, but he is serviceable and where it is Marcus Epps has made big strides this off season is on track to start over free agent jakar ski tart at the other safety spot. And the gap is only widened through the first two weeks of camp, so expect Marcus apps to be your starter at safety. Bottom line here. The eagles defense is projected to face the very worst schedule of both passing and rushing offenses in 2022. This defense is going to make a massive leap forward here Todd. And if the defense plays better, it takes some of the pressure off Jalen hurts and you can understand why the eagles have been one of the biggest movers as far as odds to win their division. You've also seen a little bit of money come in on their win total over as well as optimism marine supreme for Nick Siri second season at the helm for the birds. Last let me ask you a very important question. Jalen hurts, finishes the 11th best quarterback in a lot of key metrics next year. Are you moving on from are you keeping him? No, I think it's a great question and I honestly believe it depends on where you fall and how some of the quarterbacks grayed out. So it didn't even take the bait. I'm trying to find your cusp for keeping a quarter. I know you're going to go 11, you're going to go ten and my cutoff is probably going to be in that 8 9 window. I want to make sure that you're in a qualifying position where you believe Jesus. That when you're in the top ten and a quarterback has a ceiling that they haven't scratched yet, that's a little bit different than if you take a quarterback who has been clearly defined. I think hertz still leaves a lot of questions more so than answers where you have a body of work for Daniel Jones. The one thing for Jones is he just hasn't had stability at the offensive coordinator or they head coach spot. I think this year will go a long way in determining what we feel Jalen hurts can be going forward as the face of the eagles and legitimate franchise quarterback because I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I was a little bit surprised when they drafted her as high as they did coming out of college. I didn't know what the plan was for him. So clearly Philadelphia saw more than I did, and I guess we'll either see if it bears fruit or they'll go, you know what? We took a shot, it didn't pay off. We're in the market for a quarterback next season. In the eagles have a ton of draft capital to really position themselves to move up the draft if they ultimately elect to move on from Jalen hurts. Yeah, so I mean, an interesting team for sure because I think, you know, we talk about the NFC and the fact that there really isn't that middle class.

"Better back win out in this new system? Question mark. Yeah. Nathaniel Hackett's offense did this last year in Green Bay. Aaron Jones had 223 touches, AJ Dylan had 217 touches. This has got looks like a 50 50 split. You have to take javonte in the early third. He was going almost in the first before Melvin Gordon resign. Melvin Gordon isn't going off the board until the 9th, tenth round turn. I'll take Melvin Gordon there. It's not exciting. It's another do the opposite running back. You might get the exact same numbers as javonte Williams. Four rounds earlier. Yes. We all watch avante Williams to be the guy, but it's not in the cards. For the Kansas City Chiefs, we've got more change than usual. And we highlighted this in last week's show. No team has more vacated targets in the NFL by a mile than the chiefs do. And so we do have a lot of change here. Let's start with Patrick Mahomes, obviously everything runs through him. And this could be a year with an unusual amount of inconsistency from mahomes because of all these changes and some other factors too that we'll talk about. And you may have forgotten he had a long stretch of mortality fantasy wise from mid October to early December, which is a long time. Mid October to early December. A 6 game stretch in which he had one good game and 5 terrible games for Patrick Mahomes. He had never had a stretch this bad is one good game, by the way, 50 attempts 5 touchdowns. The other 5 games I'm referring to during the 6 game stretch, he averaged 218 yards and 0.4 touchdowns. Teddy Bridgewater is looking at that and pointing and laughing. So, you highlighted just an air bear. You highlighted Patrick Mahomes here. Who's going to be higher on your cheat sheet when you start publishing the which is going to be next week. Cheat sheets soon here. So you're going to be Josh Allen one. Yes. And I believe he is too. I've got it done. I just haven't done it in front of me, but I think that's right. All right. I love passing consistency. Sure. Yeah. Anyway, okay, so let's keep moving on here. So just I think, by the way, mahomes finished very, very well. So I mentioned the 6 games where he had this long stretch where he struggled. But he did finish the finish to your very well. Multiple touchdowns in the final 8 games of the year include the playoffs. So he's still Patrick Mahomes, but you may have more inconsistency than at any point that we've seen in the past. So I just want to highlight that. For Travis Kelce turns 33 this year, there's been a lot made of that in the off season. Some small statistical signs of slowing down last year, his lowest target numbers since 2017, his lowest yard since 2017, his lowest average reception distance since 2015. All that last year. And he also had the horrible stretch of games, his stretch of bad games was even longer, Matt. Travis Kelce went through a ten game stretch spanning from week four to week 14, almost the entire fantasy regular season. In which he scored two touchdowns. And in that stretch he had four absolute dud games with three or four catches and less than 27 yards in those games. So another player that we had been used to Travis Kelce being just a consistent producer last year we saw that start to change. He's going to be your older. I think you have to build in some variants into Travis Kelce's probable outcome this year. He also broke up with his girlfriend and she revealed that she was charging her half of the rent, good. I love that. You're back to number one on my cheat sheet. That's fantastic. Can't freeload off the Travis Kelce. I like it. He's got his own house though. He's just paying rent. He owns a house. I like that he can't afford it. Renting to his girlfriend. He's teaching her a lesson up front. I like that. Well, it's his ex now. Girlfriend. Kansas City's wide receivers as a position group. Let me ask you this, Matt. If you think Patrick Mahomes is going to throw for, let's say, 35 touchdowns. So that's less than he had and he's had in any healthy season. Old downtown from where he spent the last few years. One or more of his receivers is sitting on a pretty big year, double digits for sure. Probably double digits, right? Kelsey of Kelsey. Kelsey takes ten, right? Exactly. Kelsey takes ten. I got 25 unaccounted for touchdowns. Most of them are going to go to wide receivers. Yes, 6 probably going to running backs leaves 19 for wide receivers. That's juju Smith Schuster, territory. Are you right there? Let's talk about them. You're more optimistic about them than I am. Returns from a shoulder injury that cost him almost all of last season did not score in his four healthy games last year in average his average game last year went healthy. Three catches 32 yards. I'm not sure Ben Roethlisberger could get him the ball last year though. He's got a little bit more of a strong armed corner. So that was pretty good. It's true. Juju ran 73% of his snaps from the slot over the last two years. And you figure he'll take over a lot of those tyreek hill slot routes. He can't run them the same way because nobody else is tyreek hill. But hill hill ran about half his total routes from the slot. I think juju ends up being a slot receiver in this sense. Marcus valdes scantling, good reports out of mini camps. Normally you might say that moving to a Patrick Mahomes offense from anybody else means you're going to get an automatic uptick, but he's coming from Aaron Rodgers. So Eric throws a great deep ball, so does Patrick Mahomes. It's, you know what you're going to get with him. He's really the team's only deep speed threat. Now the tyreek hill is gone. And this team loves to challenge deep, but you're going to have the games where those defaults connect, and you're going to have games when they do not connect. It feels like it's going to be impossible to start marques Valdez. It'll take some guts. Yeah. And I feel like you'll guess wrong more often than not. You certainly that was certainly the case in Green Bay. Yeah. Usage probably goes up here. I think because this team does want to throw deep, and he's the obvious guy to do that too. Then let's go to sky more. Who I also talked about extensively last week. I love them. I want to reiterate that I think there's a very good chance that right this minute, today, at the second, look at the clock, look at your watch, your iPhone watch, whatever. He's the best receiver on the team. Okay, sky more. Right now as a rookie could be the best receiver on that team. By the end of the year, I feel even more strongly that by the end of the year sky where it will be the best receiver on this team. There's some confidence in that. I like it. Michael Hardman, I don't see any obvious reason to believe that Hardman's role is going to be any different in year four, except that there's more available routes to run with all these players gone. Pringle gone and Robinson gone and Tyree kill gone. Clyde Edwards alert took a massive step back in year two, but his 80 piece suggests that people should suggest that people are bullish on him rebounding. I was surprised. I was thinking to myself going into this exercise, you know, I really don't like Clyde Edwards a lair, but he's going to be so cheap. He's not that cheap. He's running about 25 in the 5th round. Yeah. That's not that cheap. That's not the discount I expected. That's not where I'm taking them. I need a bigger discount before I'm going to go move on Clyde Edward Delaware. If you distill a lot of negative factors, it really gives you a clear portrait of a deeply unreliable fantasy producer in Clyde Edwards a lair injuries, the few goal line carries the modest number of carries and to bewildering lack of usage in the passing game. You put all that together, Clyde Edwards. To make good on his 25th running back ADP is going to have to be a materially different

"If they're going to be able to get him and have the coach be confident if they say, look, we're going to make sure you get your minutes and touches. During these games, the regular season games so that you're ready so that you're a viable option for us. Late in the year in the playoffs. Certainly Miami has done that with its shooters over the years. Duncan Robinson came out of nowhere and was a very important player for them for a few years here. He gave way to max truce, who was a guy that had kicked around. But certain coaches, if you got to commit to shooters, you've got to commit to getting them their touches. So, you know, are we going to see Payton Pritchard be even better for this team next year? Are you going to see Aaron nee Smith become part of the rotation or are you going to see our niece myth in a year or two come back to haunt the cell explain for someone else? Entirely possible. Max drew said big shots. It's just going to say. Hopefully good about that. I give it to me. Man, it was impressive. Because he would be called as close ice and it would hit like two or three in a row that were huge. And they were like, where the hell was this Ben? But, you know, to watch the image avante, you know, do well on their teams. I also take a lot of pride in that too. So the hardest transition for a player coming from college is in college, any guy that gets the NBA pretty much in college, he could shoot what he wanted to. The ball would be in his hands whenever he did so desire for the most part. Coming to the NBA where you're maybe the third or fourth option, which maybe you don't see the ball for a few possessions. That's another reason why ball movement and getting the ball moved around is so important because. I think unfair to expect as happened with semi auxiliary that he hadn't touched the ball for 5 possessions and he's standing in the corner we supposed to also the ball comes to him and now you haven't shot in a week and a half and can you please make this shot now. That's kind of unfair to ask. And with the ball moving more now, you see a guy like grant Williams, excuse me, essentially in the same role. But being much more effective. Just more touches. 23s in game 7? Yeah. He had a lot. I think he got him up. He's still shooting. So I only have a couple of short memory let Steve get back to his night and let people listen and get back to their lives, pardon me, but we'll get back to our lozenges. Yeah, not soon enough. Let me tell you..

So it's so up to hear that shit out loud and you're like exactly you fascist fucks should be completely Banish ed from any kind of decision making position But i chose you again. This is what the real stakes are with this. And you see who the people are. Who are the you know tending to the garden of systemic oppression by being womb. Abebe fula boosters like good and maybe if everyone can decide that it's a good now does it. Stop it's a it's a racist relic and it's only getting in the way as honestly with the supreme court decision earlier this week though the way in which we will be able to vote is in serious jeopardy so to have people like this who are getting in the way of real legislation. That's trying to standardize things just on just a small level because it's the only fucking arrow in the democrats quiver at the moment. This is like man please. Yeah we're in allowed more you know. It's easy to feel complacent because democrats have the presidency and both houses of congress. But we're in a two party system in one of the parties is openly authoritarian. Now if you had told me that five years ago i would you know that. That's pretty pretty shocking. We've gone a long way towards the future where america is an authoritarian state. So it'll be god it's just like what's in my mind like the only time i would keep an enemy around like if i'm if you know because politics is all game is i give you just you got something for them down the road that you're trying to do but this isn't the challenge you the this is not what it is you have to understand. What the threats are to life as we know it. I mean obviously complacency is a huge one as well but the to go this you know to have them pull up like here's a bouquet of flowers and thanks so much thank you. We were really scared. White supremacy man. They really had us in the fourth quarter there. But how does she like. People were hopeful about her did did she just like make a right turn or what. "Yeah yeah and then. Finally marsha blackburn is trending she is apparently she has a running feud with taylor swift because taylor swift came out During when she was running during her election and was like don't vote for her. So senator marsha blackburn said that taylor swift's socialist leanings. Don't really make sense because in apparently she knows about socialism because she said that If there was a socialist government the state would have to approve her music and wouldn't allow women to dress or sing or to be on stage or entertain so clearly a very nuanced Understanding of socialism That is based on That's only got that's all they got now but it's based on like footloose and right mixed together. Both religious extremism both examples of religious extremism. What yet house that. I don't think if you know this were here right now in this country. Look at britney spears look at state of reproductive rights look at the state of people's rights based on gender identification. There's all kinds of nasty shit already happening but again yeah. People advocating for things where were creating more equitable outcomes for people's labor and that they have the right to live in a humane manner is just a terrible thing. So yeah all right. Let's take a quick break. Hey miles it's me jack. From where just hanging out here bushes. Just yeah i do. You know what time it is. I told you you should really learn how to read a wristwatch. Look there are over five hundred destinations to visit and who knows what's out there. I mean some people do know what's out there but who knows what's out there you can visit places like glacier national park where you see breathtaking mountain ranges and beautiful blue lakes or jack. I believe you even hopped on a train. Recently i recently went down to san diego on something called the pacific surf liner and it is. It was so fun so comfortable. By far i will not be traveling any other way up and down california going forward and the people who work on it or so friendly. The kids loved it. We could walk around with look out the window. It's there's so much to do and also no middle seats which means you can stretch out and enjoy the right. Yeah enough to feel cramped or sitting next to people. You don't really wanna be next to you know just kind of keep your own vibe in the train amtrak even has private room so you can have your own space to yourself and you can sleep in peace without having somebody watching over you looking at you or you know how people get their their head nodding in the. Suddenly you're shoulder is a pillow for someone you don't even know right so get ready to travel safely and comfortably on your next getaway. When a doc got fired and went to the seventy sixers and they were like. Yeah no man. Good good good for you. Good luck guys is going to be good. We you know we wish nothing but the best for you But really they know. They're passing off trash. That's of how i feel as eric. Garcetti departs. la it's like oh shit man while you gotta go one india you gotta go one over there. Great call by new. You're right you're right. Fuck give him. India this big country. Yeah i don't know. I don't know it. Hey doing doing need ambassadors like really. Some people get the ambassadorship and it's like. Oh that's a nice thing for them to do in their dotage right. This feels like it is a consolation prize for yes someone who just wants out of their current situation. Yeah so then if he but again we don't know when he'll actually end up fucking off because the senate you know. There's a lot of shit that is to get processed so it could be months or who knows how long but yeah. I don't know if you leaves and bits before the end of his term Because i think primary is gonna be next june. So in that interim period i think the city council besides who's gonna be the mayor that'd dope if like nydia had a say in that i mean she will cause nausea. So we'll joe farrell and paul krikorian. Who are absolute trash bags guy we could. We could really use some. I was going to say we used some socialism here in l. a. but then that that'll turn into them having to approve all the entertainment that goes out In this town and they won't let women be in movies anymore. "Bill thanks for joining us daniel. Thanks for inviting me on the show. We're going to talk about smash avante. Its business model. And its efforts to better harness available data to speed drug development and improve decision making around it. perhaps we can begin with a little background. People may be familiar with the vikram swami's and his vance samanta was actually born out of sumitomo dainippon farmers acquisition of five vance. What is samat of antony. And where does it sit in relation to sumitomo in the group of vance acquired. Sure so as you mentioned was formed out of a three billion dollar transaction between a dainippon. Sumitomo pharma and raytheon Anytime a mid sized japanese pharma company. Roy vance is a startup pharmaceutical company about six six years old. So roy event has been successful at in licensing drugs in therapies refining their clinical development plan to optimize their positioning to address unmet need raising external capital to support the clinical development plan then hiring executive team to that clinical development plan so when a drug was expected to address high unmet need royden spun off a subsidiary to house. "Like that's what it is. It's just like this guy is here. There's no chance of us making any noise. I guess he was in the playoffs. How names though but they never did anything volga in the one year. They beat the steelers that who lost his mind at the end of the game. Avante says birth. Yeah i mean not always him yeah. Do they win that game. No i thought they lost loss of what he did. They were about to win or about. Yeah they were beaten this deal. They finally won the playoff game. Yeah and then. That happens right in front of marvin lewis right exactly. Joey came out that old thing. This yeah nine. A- team at a lot issues for a long time what does he gets to go out there and try to prove everybody wrong in chicago quarterback hell land in chicago. I know that's why i was like there's just no way that russell wilson's going there just impossible. I last week on the warm up show. I think maybe two weeks ago. When over the list of quarterbacks that the bears have had and like the longest tenured quarterback al. Do you remember what it was. Was it four years for the longest tenured. Quarterbacks grossman he might have been one of them. Yeah like because everybody always makes fun of the browns than japanese has. Has that list of quarterbacks with the browns but the bears have a very similar situation yeah. Cutler is probably there for clues to couple years but even going back to the eighty five bears. Jim mcmahon was the quarterback for a decade. He wasn't in on he was in and out in a few years. It's been hell been held for them trying to think of some other. Really big chad. Hutchinson member chad hudson there for a little bit but again a very small sample size. I'm going real quick break. Matt barkley play there for a little bit. Let's see here. But the so jim harbaugh was another one who had been there a while. But then when you look at how many games they actually played. Yeah there's no consistency and hasn't been for like the entire. I think we went back to. What the nineteen fifties like selectmen. Or something i forget some of that drafted patrick mahomes or shawn watson mitch trubisky. That's true very good woman. He's now the bill says he's backing up right correct. So yeah if you look just quickly if you look at where we twenty twenty one trubisky has been there for the last four years i find cutler one two three four five. "Go back and look this we were down to the Parnell might lead Avante, Bobby, and, uh, you know, Jim Moody by the end of the year, and it was all I thought it was pretty decent for what they had. Are you seeing Maybe, um you know, a championship caliber defense if everybody's healthy Well, I definitely think so. It with everyone, healthy, everybody, you know, being in the system for a third year, I think that is going to be really, really good. Uh, you know, defensively and offensively, um, you know, and well, obviously, the biggest thing on off inside the ball is gonna be is you're not going to be that person, or, you know, with the team. Try to bring in a veteran or try to draft someone else. You know, that's kind of up in the air right now. I think we'll have to see wait to see what they do. But, yes, far as the other positions, though. I think that you know we're in really good shape. Guys got some really good experience this year. A lot of the young guys got great experience, weight pushing very been able to Come in and play a lot. Of course. Don't rise there, you know, having the full season and Andre will have the wind James back next year. Uh, so, yeah, I'm looking forward to a Gap bowls. You know, he's locked in. We don't have to worry about who's gonna be the left tackle now. Um, So, yeah, I'm really excited about the future. It is this football team and again, you know, having the coaches in place another year. That's just gonna pay dividends. And, you know, I know we're all hoping that we can have a pre season. Toe where we can continue to fine tune the things that we that we developed this year and and that we're improving on What was your overall assessment of drew locks play this season. Uh, I thought it was okay. I really, uh I still think he has a lot of potential. Ah would have liked to see a little bit more progress. Um, you know you'd have, you know, pretty good game and, uh, you know, have a bad game have pretty good game. Bad game. Really good game. Bad game, So I just like to see the consistency Be there a little bit more. Um, but again, I'm a firm believer that with time and with reps. You know, I don't know many people that don't get better, with more reps. So again, hopefully have the same offensive system back on with that is looking right now That's where is gonna be and, uh, I think that's gonna help everyone on the opposite side of the ball. Be better, you know, being in the same system here in the same calls from the same coaches. You know who they got that you know relationship has developed over this last year with office coordinator there. Um, Yeah, I think it's I think it's all positive man. And, uh, You know, I'm hoping that whoever comes in at the GM sees it the exact same way. You know, I don't know if you've looked in tape of these, uh, these guys coming out in the draft at all yet. Michael Parsons line background. Penn State Patzer Tan the corner out of Alabama two names being kind of associated with the Broncos right now, if you if you looked at either one of them and if so, what do you think? No, I haven't haven't checked him out yet. But you know, I would say right now, if I had to say one I've heard about certain certain that's the other lets the player sometimes who we played in the league. That's the son, I think. Yeah. Patrick's or turn the corner for the Dolphins. The chief? That's his son. Yeah, Yeah, yeah. So I would have to definitely lean that way. Uh, you know, Big a Jade Buddha and breast Callahan food there, you know, really good cornerback. They weren't his healthy this year. A zoo we hope that they would be here. But you know Only anybody on the team was healthy for the whole year, though, about definite, like just tight knit group of this a little bit more. Um, I thought that Alexander Johnson and Josie Jule And it came and they play. They play really good football man. I was I was impressed with the inside linebackers this year. Um and again, I think You know, just being in the system plan together. We're just gonna get better and better. So I'm excited for the future. And I'm hoping that you know the guys haven't lost any confidence because Hey, if uh, Chicago Bulls back in the day of their loss, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan gets what they wouldn't want either. So well said well said, and by the way, just a reminder to everybody as we have Steve here. He's gonna be joining us throughout the offseason, as he typically does, and he always brings us his eyes. Favorite guys, We gotta go through the draft picks. We have him pick out a couple of guys he bring. He comes on. He breaks them down for us. Especially the guys in the secondary. Steve, I can't wait to it. I'm I'm imagining a probably not going off the senior bowl this year. Well, I can't wait to find another diamond in the rough like we found Michael. Oh, Jim O'Dea last year out of the senior Bowl, are you He was excited. I am problem. You found him. I didn't do that. You did it. No way we're gonna send Ryan is an advanced scout this year before we even go down. Do any coverage. We're sitting right to scout the players and send the notes back. Yeah, so crazy because You know, he ended up being here as a draft pick, and you know, we really were, You know, way focused on the mover that the Senior Bowl last year, so that was really cool. I think it's what I think. It's funny, though, is once I pointed him out, you guys went out of your way. Yeah, you got you guys went out of your way to Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, I know. But you're you're out there. And and you. You went out of your way to basically point out every single time that he had a mistake or something like that. We were just trying to balance the coverage. Steve and I were trying to balance the coverage. You try to make it all good. I point out some of the negative, so we've got about All right. I'm just here for the jokes. If you're just here, you're just here to look good. All right, Steve, Just go with the gold. That's right. That's right. Don't say you don't bring that thing to the Hall of fame, right? Everywhere. I'm You got dragged into your rotation jacket. Don't don't encourage him. You'll try to upstage you. Don't you know this Is the states picking up all of it? That's the C C management, Harvey, but it starts small. Like I'm gonna wear a gold jacket to like wearing white to a wedding and start small..
