"Oh casey i mean that that another another game on saturday that featuring to to non christmas day teams and the hornets ended up losing this one though they won on sunday against the brooklyn nets one of the stunning sunday games. One of many and shakiness alexander hit a game winner for two of his twenty four points. Eight of twenty from from the field overall seven of ten from the line and unfortunately this happened actually had previously. but it's worth kind of talking about cody. Zeller broke his hand and so he is out at least a month per rick bottle beat biz back on both starting his place also on sunday. Pj washington suffered what is being deemed a minor. Right ankle sprain so we'll have to see what his availability is moving forward but the hornets are now one into. Yeah they beat brooklyn in close one after this loss to okay see which i think would be considered pretty disappointing but not disappointing was the fact that lamelo ball had a nice game after a really ugly debut which we talked about ball was able to score. Thirteen points came out really firing. I think he was not happy with that. Goose egg next. I wanna say he had all thirteen is points in the first. He came out with too deep threes from above the break. Finish two of four from three also had a hard drive. Only one assist. I continue to be impressed by his activity on the defensive glass and also just as a help defender capping off of his man getting into the passing lanes. So i think. I don't think he's going to be some huge defensive liability. I think he's gonna be okay there and you know the two. Big questions are gonna be simply. Does the jump shot. Go in and i can't get to the foul. That's gonna be a big question as well. He's not he needs to get better at changing speeds. I was really happy to see in. Preseason it was awful but he actually busted out that seventeen foot floater that we saw on the australian league and that looked pretty good. He was like even a step further out than trae. Young will take it from But that looked confident and went in so good game for him But charlotte had a very odd game. They actually shot it better from three forty one percent than they did from to. And it's not like the oklahoma city. Thunder is unbelievable. Rim projecting team. It's just that the hornets are not a great team. A attacking the basket. Lou made gordon hayward life absolutely miserable when they were matched up as well. And so and devante. Graham terry rosiere me both of those guys who are really going to struggle inside the Rosiere after that forty two point game with ten threes in the first one Fell back to earth although he did lead the team with nineteen points mouth bridges. I thought had one of the better games of his gre- looked pretty decent. Moving is speed actually at a couple of verticality plays defensively at the rim and then crazily went four of four from three three of three in the last minute of the game. The hornets are crazy. This is totally insane. They're down nine with like you know a minute three remaining and then they come back to tie it with like twenty seconds left. They scored twelve points in like a thirty second period. Like they t- backed oklahoma city and that was reminded me a teeny bit of that crazy bulls game from last year. Oh yeah yeah. zach levine. Twelve three point although they they only got twelve points and thirty three seconds. Thirteen but Do get a four point. Play like t. Mac did but And bridges had three of those all of which were wide open. The hornets were being gifted pretty wide open shots by oklahoma city late but then shake just alexander came down and hit a pretty sweet game winner of his own he led. Okay see with twenty four point and also worth noting though it was not in the game. I focused on hayward twenty eight points. Six rebounds seven assists in their two point win over the nets. Though that was really a four point win where there was a a buzzer beating layup. That didn't really affect the line. Kind of do haunt esque in respect and while we're getting we're getting the old school references in now and and i liked i liked purchased as well. I think that the the hornets not meeting as much from him is probably a good thing. Overall like i don't know if he skills into being a starting caliber four though. I'm not gonna foreclosed for bridges but having so being a third being third forward for at least for now. I think that's i think that's fine. The jump shot. It's not always gonna look as good as it did during the last minute of that. Okay see game. But i'm encouraged overall and something that you noticed which is a really good point kind of shifting a little bit to the thunder who are only wanna know because their first game was postponed by the nba was a shift that we often see. Is that when a player becomes higher usage on offense there will be downgrades and other parts of their game because they just have to use so much more of their energy to create. Those looks really stuck out to me with shade Alexander in the first quarter where he had a sequence where he went hard to the basket two times in a row and then he was just completely exhausted and got blown by on the other end and you know those after a long period of play obviously but she really struggled on defense in that rocket series last year.

"Can't wait for that. One guy lamelo ball was cracking up highlights in the preseason but came up short last night in a season opening of weight loss to the cavs third overall pick by michael jordan played nearly sixteen minutes off. The bench. don't went with zero point three assists and three turnovers. That's not the best start but shannon. How concerned should michael jordan be. It is early. Just one game skift. He plays sixteen minutes but the other two guys. That's in front of him was going crazy. Terro rozier germay. Ten ten three point of ten and sixteen from three point line had a career. High forty two demonte graham who was unbelievable year skip had ten points and ten so in the mellow didn't play in the fourth quarter but it does put him in a very distinguished company of the top. Three pigs i think they said in the last twenty five years he otto porter jr. greg oden and hocine for beat the only top three picks that did not score a point in the nba debut. I don't know if i really want to be on that list. Because our for the be greg and then go with otto porter got a lot of money. But he hasn't been with a lot of people thought he was. no but skip. Lamelo is really not known as a score. He's more known for playmaking and i don't really know how much playmaking grand plan the way he doesn't dare roggio playing the way he corrosion can put the ball in the basket soaking graham but they also can facilitate. So i'm a look is the first game. May maybe it was anxious. I mean he would try to me and he was over five from floyd janney mental or three from three point line. So i'm not little one game now but i'm gonna need to see something moving forward skip. I can't see a whole lot of more zero point games. Yeah is okay. If are good because you told me at the end of yesterday's show that the game you were most looking forward to watching was lamelo. Terry rozier started going crazy. Did yeah okay. The first sign the first bad sign for me was i realized. Lamelo is just a teenage but doesn't even start for. What's not a very good teen. Do i think they're gonna make the plus. I don't know hail not making a play of what i'm saying. You you saw the firepower. I like terriers hot aspect for graham. Yeah i do too and gordon hayward not the biggest fan. But they gave him a lot of money. He's scored twenty eight last night but they're not going to sniff the play all right so lamelo doesn't start in as you point out. He plays a grand total of sixteen minutes last night while he was on the floor. He looked lost to me he he just. There were a lot of standing in the corner place where he's like watching terry reserve that they were playing them with. Rosier devante graham. They're playing three guards well l. much. How much touch is he going to get much how much you can have the basketball hands. Not a lot. So and i don't know if he's the guy that can play without the ball in his hand he is the point. Yes yes yes. Yes yes for his own offense or for the rest of the guys assets. You think he's gonna be a better passer and his big brother. I don't see that yet. You could be right. Because i just haven't seen enough of him at this. High level played in the australian league bright. He was horrible from three in the in. That league was under thirty. Think he's twenty five percent. He was over three from three last night. Didn't even get to the free throw line. I don't know. He had three assists in the he did have two steals. He can steal the ball like his brother. But again i am the biggest michael jordan fan on the planet but when it comes to running the franchise. I am the least of the fans because this is horrendous. What keeps happening here. And i'm sure charlotte fans just sat back last night and said well here we go again. I think the thing is killed. What happens is is that they keep falling in the second spot. You get the second. Pick an anthony davis goals one. You stuck with kidd gilchrist. You get the third pinkett. You get out of more than you could have got. So that's the thanksgiving. All you know you get the syncope when peyton manning combed out or you get the second peak with france france. The court ticked off agaic of trevor lawrence. Go first day okay. Just remind people. And i hate to bring him back up. But under michael supervision. Under his. Not running the franchise. They've made the playoffs three times. In fourteen years they got swept twice. Took the miami heat to seven games one. So the record is three. And twelve in the postseason render. Michael only three appearances in fourteen. Let's the eastern conference s. Not right now. You need somebody to make a mistake. You need somebody you need to be in the to spot and somebody takes griego and you get a kevin durant and then as i always tell you. Sometimes the greater the player the worst the drafter he was so great. He was uk as these galaxy. You just can't do it but i think he could. No no okay so remember. He did take kwame brown when he was running the wizard with the first overall correct. He wasn't bad but he wasn't the first all pick. And then just a few of these. That i'm going to run through. He drafted atom. moore's and over brandon rook brandon. Roy had a short career but he would bet in national career better than that amores. He drafted campbell's who's really good. But he passed on clay and that and then he took michael kidd gilchrist over bradley. Beal and damian lillard. No i don't think that'll work. And then let's go down to. He took frank committed over devon booker. No he even took malachi richardson over. Pascal siakam no and then malinche monk over donovan mitchell. I it's just one after another after another. It's no good but look about his guilt. What all those guys. Those guys are from prominent programs. You look at damian lillard you look at some of the other guys. They come from less a program. So he's going to try and truth you've going with the kentucky's and all those big name pro game the blue the blue bloods but sometime damian lillard you gotta go off the beaten path you gotta go off the path i agree you gotta be able to see this in believe it in no it and he doesn't as a team builder skill but when you're that great and magic said magic said you know obviously i would ask a guideline and why you didn't do that in galveston he's not you. He can't see that he can't do. That was a gift you don't you. Don't get in the skip. The great they really don't get how specially are because they just rolled out of bed and do it to do. Michael didn't jumping. Everybody jump like this. Everybody can shoot a mid range of kobe. Everybody came by the way no doubt the gift everybody can't do dare is so he's big. Why why. I you do that in my sleep. Yup yeah. That's now we see. So many are buford's christie's who did not lay pro basketball right. Just guys who get it. They look into coaches lot. They didn't play you. Get very few coaches. That actually played the game. You got dick and coach thank might be the only guy that actually played the nfl in colts in because his heart. You look at coach. Belichick coach belichick crawls echo and football division. Three wesleyan is normally normally the coaches. That were okay. The below average players. That make the great coins. I got it and to button this up. Anthony edwards who went one to jimmy's t. wolves after the game last night. She was pretty good and he had fifteen formed four. He said it's not that hard to be honest meeting the transition. He said coming out of college where. I got double teamed every game all game here. They can't double because we have too many shooter right so he obviously doesn't get double dreams and he had a nice start. Basically just one one and you win one on one because you like you said he got d law he got he got karl anthony towns. So he's going to.

"So we thought he had real upside is a two way big people, people the really impressive ability, move his feet guard multiple positions. He's developing shooter. We're pretty optimistic. Long term, He'll be a god. He can't take you to make shots from beyond the arc. And then you know you're also really like Arjun Hamptons. We got a little greedy and we use the future draft. Pick that kid RJ RJ, The kid is supposed to be a freshman college issue reclassified what should have been a senior In high school in New Zealand and the Australian League. Um to position guy, big time athlete, um, you know, plays with a chip on his shoulder, uh, with the type of guy we think in our program will work. Well, um so Fingers crossed with rookies. You never know, but we're pretty excited at both those guys their program and a couple weeks in both of them. It has had very impressive moments. It's been challenging for those guys know. Summer League No Open, Jim No traditional, um, kind of entry points in an organization more trial by fire, But I think both those guys are really good guys and the good players and hopefully as they get, uh well of it already can contribute. 40 The last thing I have for your time, and I appreciate your time here is I think something good just happened for the MBA answered the coop. Oh, signing back for the Milwaukee Bucks was, I think, um, I didn't think that that was gonna happen. You know most most guys who've been in small markets that has had the kind of career that he's had Has bolted the first chance that they really gotten. I think Kevin Durant sign that deal and in O K C. And then I think that was the last big one that I can remember. And I stand a small market. But this this signals that things are okay in the NBA. When you see a guy like this take the deal from Milwaukee, a Supermax deal. I think it's fantastic, you know, have a bunch of bodies over the organization. I'm really proud of of them getting done. I think it speaks to the reciprocation of oil peoples from player an organization and vice versa. Um, you know, I think in life, it's Much like toe professional sports. It's always easy to look elsewhere. But sometimes the best situations of the one you're in the honest by all accounts you don't know him well is extremely loyal guy. You kind of walked to his own beat, and I think it Z really need to see him take this pass and commit even further to the city, Milwaukee and the Bucks Organization. I'm glad he's not going to the Western Conference at Lyons. The first one was a politically correct answer. Hey, Tim, I'm not gonna lie. Or were Jones in here hard to make a trip out to ballerina and watch some Nuggets basketball. Is there a plan in the works for when fans Are allowed back in in a minimum amount at some point. We're going to rely on the local government. It's kind of out of our hands like it's such a challenging environment. It's certainly unprecedented. So whatever they say we can do we're gonna do. We're gonna put certainly safety first. But we're the same way it's it was weird that I planted Golden State and empty arena. Um, as much fun as we had last year in Orlando, we talked about it quite a bit internally. How we feel like we missed out on that real environment of a game Seven involve Arena. Um, this you know I to game 701 Game seven against a woman l. A hearing are Our fans know how important they are really enjoying the moment. So, um, we can't wait. But whenever it's safe, we get the all clear. Well, people back in the arena. All right. Well, good luck on Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. We can't thank you enough for joining us as you do. You always give us your time that we very much appreciate it. And good luck to you, Tim. Thanks so much, guys. I appreciate it. Thanks a lot. "And this is the thing about the mellow that for me that knows almost nothing worries. Me shot just 46% from two point range in 25% from three. This is in the Australian League. Shoots jumpers with an unorthodox with unorthodox mechanics, including a two handed release while kicking out his legs for a lead that is so dependent. Now he's 6 ft. Seven sizes, obviously, as Jonathan mentioned very attractive For lead That's so interested in shooting is seeing those numbers even on 18 year old Is that a red flag? It's not ideal, obviously, but I don't think those numbers or that indicative of his touch to be honest, like I think it's more a product of shot selection. You know, we saw the way he used to play right, pulling out from half court, pointing at the line. Laughing. I mean, that was those with the shots he would take, and he's rein it in a little bit, But I think it's more a product like a set of the shot selection, because if you look at his free throw percentage in our database, he's 82% from the line on 254 attempts. You know, he has. I mean, he can pull up from 30. No problem, and I think He's going to make enough to where teams have toe, you know, fight over the top of screens, and then he could really use his size to kind of pick teams apart. So it's not ideal, obviously like the shot is funky, but I think the difference between him and Lonzo is that like this kid has never ending confidence like he's not afraid of anything, whereas that's what Lonzo kind of had to work through. And then in L. A obviously wasn't shooting a well. Teams were going under screens were respecting him and then you know, he just didn't really look at the rim. And he said What kind of working his way back there. But, you know, love Melo is is an incredibly confident kid. And I think his his touch is just fine. He just needs to refine his mechanics a little bit and try to shoot it. Same way every time. And he's a He's a terrific passer. Right, Jonathan. I mean he's got. He's got good control of the ball in which He is meaningful on a guy that size. I mean, that's the best thing he does He mean he had his head up at all times, and he throws these crazy one handed baseball passes. You know the length of the floor and we just all the highlights. You know, like those air. Really, You know all that stuff that he dies with bounce passes and off pick and roll. I mean, that's that's his game, and I think it's only going to get better when you surround them with With better Claire's, You know, I mean, a lot. There are a lot of plays and he made this year, you know, threatening to needle to to his big guy, Josh Boone and blows the layup right at the rim. You know, it's so, like, Put him with, you know a Karl Anthony towns and D'Angelo Russell. Guys like that. And he just you know much..

And don't don't bring a knife to a sort of Ivan Ivan. Run the numbers. One of the worst worst books. You can drink for protein protein. So you're not getting enough protein with that crap. The grads mostly plant-based primarily plant BLIMPY's but if you're in La made you oh highly recommend major Domo great food. You gotta eat meat. Though of does does he live in L. A.. Still Lamelo ball one of my favorite NBA stories of the year. You pointed this out to me McKee. We're talking about this the other night. Yeah Walk US through this story. It's amazing all right. So the Melville the youngest brother of Lonzo ball his playing in the Australian league his He didn't want to go to college to play smart. Yep and as he's been making money and notice middle name is I. Don't look Lou France. The Mel Francis Davis Lamelo France. Back That is the better story than man. So he Sorry recently came out that he is going to shut it down in the Australian League because he's going to get ready for for the draft and a weird little tidbit that they put in. The story is that he's going to not only shut it down and recoup but spend and more time with his horse who is also named Lamelo. The difference is lamello in all caps APPs. We'll have you know that's how they don't get them confused. Mr Mellow how do you name now. This isn't a racing horse correct. This is just say I think what I I thought about this story. "You still wanna platform to play the game. He is a great test case. Though because of joe johnson watches with another team in and had some success there are going to be guys. That are the kind of thing can do. I still want to do this. They'll go back to the big three and they'll get re-energized and they'll come back in but i don't know if there are a lot of guys from what i've seen so far that have have the talent to take that leap well. We'll have to see if it works right so one of the questions with the n._c. Double a. and should kids still put themselves in college programs for suppose different perfect kid right but also we are seeing viable alternatives sort of just sprang up and get stronger and stronger and if we see these kids go to the australian league and have it worked. You're gonna see more kids kids do that. You're going to see more kids who take a year off to just train and do that kind of thing like daria so i just think that we will see what happens with joe johnson and you might get more of those kinds of guys. You're talking about three which is a win for fans because those games are fun all right dwight howard addressing the media for the first time since returning to the lakers. He did that in a conference call today here. He said quote. My job is to come here and help the team win. It's not to get any into any arguments shack or kobe or anyone. I don't plan unto letting anything distract me from helping this team win a championship now i do want to stay. I believe that someone on the conference call asked him a question because here's the thing the way they see these quotes. I like it when as a reporter. I like it when guys answer our questions so i can never i never bash anyone for shouldn't have been talking about that. He was i. I believe answering a question about the recent check kobe hullaballoo. Let's carla that went back and forth and his point was. I'm not getting involved which is of course is not getting involved in a back and forth with kobe a very different approach melita from his first stint as a laker ya <hes>. Do you think this experiment is going to work. Look i mean i. I think that was an an interesting statement to make. I'm so glad to hear these planning to get into any of those argument. That being said i mean only time is going to tell right in the lakers have not had good luck with their big. Men contingency plans right. They had demarcus cousins. That clearly didn't go the way that they thought it was going to and the thing is what dwight howard is going to show up in los interest rate is is a mature and introspective dwight howard who <hes> has spent time kind of trying to fix his body and take some time away or is it going to be that kind of drama filled <hes> circle that he's kind of orbiting around him coming into this locker room that already has the potential to be a little bit spontaneously combustible hostile and so that's really the question for him. I will those issues leak into <hes> the lakers because they don't have the culture yet. They haven't established that to kind of let into be able to to deal with some of the things that howard has had following him in his career so i'm a little bit skeptical wakes me up that shaky kobe don't always get along how much they disliked white just they don't wanna deal with any of his but truly what is the best case scenario for dwight howard. This is the problem that so many fans the ants have in the moment you get caught up on the name whole dwight howard. This is not dwight who was twenty four years old in orlando dominating everybody. This is dwight howard who's going to be thirty four who looks old from basketball sense who hasn't given much of anything the last couple of seasons so people get so caught up on oh. It's dwight howard. This isn't the same guy he's going to the hall of fame but race that made me said dwight howard who's going to the hall of fame is on a conference call..

"From Texas, a five star senior guard name RJ Hampton has decided to forego flying in college. We had offers from a lot of big name schools in Kansas Texas Tech, and he was going to play for the NBL in Australia. So he's foregoing college. He said, listen, I am good enough play for the New Zealand team. But Australian league, I guess, you, you, you could say, but he's been played for the New Zealand team is the correct term. They're all places to visit. I might say I would love to go there but he's decided I listen, I'm not gonna play college college ball. I'm gonna be like Luca dodge. I'll come back after a couple of years, I'll still get drafted, and I'll get to live in Australia, New Zealand bounce around, and I'll make a lot more money pleasing to make anywhere. Between sixty thousand dollars to one hundred thousand dollars playing basketball overseas. And people are getting mad at them because we're not going to play for your favorite college team. But if you were as good as he is, again like the all star games he played and he's averaging twenty eight points per game as a point guard. He's really good. He's gonna play at the next level. If you're sitting there and you were promised the fact that he drafted in the top ten of the NBA, would you go? I don't know what the answer to that is to me, the call experiences something you can't pass up. I people think college, and they're like, oh, it's going to be studying for tests. Oh, gotta deal with all okay. If you're an athlete, and elite athlete at college, you can get a very easy. You can get a very easy degree. You barely have to go to class, you know, you can just mail it in essentially and newsflash. I just graduated from college. It's a ton of fun, four years of college surrounded by kids your age and a tiny little town, Texas Tech, you know, I went to Baylor you got to Kansas. It's the most, it's the most fun for years. Of your life period, period. So what I've passed it up, make more money. Probably not. But I totally get the fact that he wants to go and play, and make more money. And then come back from overseas and play pro ball. I understand it. I'm fine with it. I'm just saying that, hey, college is a lot of fun. You know, the four years surrounded by girls who are way, more attractive than, than you could have expect or you're threatened by guy, friends, who you could be, you know, best.

"So RJ Hampton could go could've have gone wherever he chose to go do spurned, Duke, and Kentucky and Kansas. All the big time. Blue bloods, and is going to go to the Australian league. Yes to play for the what of the team the team from New Zealand. He's gonna play for that team now. We don't know how much he's gonna make. But it's been positioned, certainly more than the G league matter. It's more than nothing. That is true. And what I found really interesting. You see, I think there's a thought that for the most part, people who try to circumvent or Brandon Jennings did this years ago. At a worked out, we kind of worked out, and he was first round pick made money. So I guess it worked out, and he had a pretty tours achilles couple years back. But he, he had some years, where he made some money certainly believe he was taken eleven role, something like that. But the bucks and he listen, he's, he's made generational wealth. So he's fine. But what I find interesting is that a lot of times when you hear of plans, or plots to circumvent the NCWA rules, and find a way to make money before going through the college process, generally is the thought is that they're destitute, and they're desperate. What are they don't have the grades or the great greats for sure? What? I find really interesting in Hampton's cases, that his mom says mom has a master's degree. You know, he spoke on at length the virtues of education in his household. Right. So that was interesting. It is getting that type of student athlete. This is interesting is beginning to say by the school now, it'll entirely different conversation with the NBA l was founded about forty years ago with BT mention their eight teams in the NBA. They're all over Australia. There's one team in New Zealand New Zealand breakers. That's the one that RJ Hampton will be playing for and BT. There's been some successes here terrace. Ferguson was draft by okay? See last year, he played for thirty six years in Australia. So that kind of proved of the process, he also forego. Forgave whatever college bypassed bypass college to go professional and play in the NBA will Brian Bowen, who was made who had notoriety. I won't take famous maybe his infamy, because of the university of Louisville scandal off, my gut coach Pitino fired. He also is playing over in the NBA for the Sydney kings. He is eligible for this year's draft. So we'll see where he gets drafted. Whatever happened to the second round, first round doesn't matter. Really? But he has also proven the point. So there's some predecessors to RJ Hampton is doing what he said, was with profound to me, because he said, basically, I'm going to the NBA L, because my dream doesn't mean does it mean that I wanna play college basketball, my dream is to be a professional. So I wanna prepare with I want to live with and I want to play with professionals without juggling the books without juggling the books. It's not to say that he's stupid and he doesn't want to go to class but think about this. If you were say, you say you, you grew up, your dad was auto mechanic, and you just you were car guy, you'd love cars, and you graduate high school do. Well, bad doesn't matter. You graduate high school. You want to do it, your dad, did you don't have to go to college to be a very successful car guy or construction. Or carpentry, or whatever any of these traits these traits exactly a trade, it's almost like the to me, I'm starting to think about this in different ways. Now the NBA is like a trade in a lot of senses. You don't necessarily need education to in order to be successful at it because you can go at eighteen. There have been great success stories, LeBron James is one of them is below Malone. And before they, you know, instituted this one and done rule you can learn on the job cagey you can learn on the job in teen. NFL is different you need to go to college because you're physically cannot at eighteen play in the NFL just is what it is. But international soccer has a spouse, this for years, right? You see these kids at fifteen or fourteen years old, being signed by professional soccer leagues in AP L. And, you know, in the Bundesliga, etc. Over in Europe because they see the prospect of them when they're young question for more of a soccer fan than me. What is the age in soccer high level soccer? Yeah. And. Has compared to the age of high level of NBA where the natural attrition you begin to flame out, and your view, a real decaying asset early thirties, probably late twenties. Okay. So what happens early. That's why I bring that up because then I could see the door opening for a fifteen year old kid to go play soccer if by twenty eight or twenty nine in theory are not viewed as the same way in the NBA. You're twenty nine to get into max contract. You have your star exactly right. Now, the difference when the national soccer is it it's, it's like the minor league baseball, so you start in these lower leagues and you, you, you base your contract. It's traded until eventually, if you're good enough, you're playing in one of the one of the top leagues. But you're my, that's not the point the point the point is, you're not going to school. You're you're going to work on your trade in a professional league sixteen seventeen years old. Right. And so the US is now I think finally, starting to understand this, at least athletes in the US are starting to understand this, this, this fallacy that you have to go to college in order to make it to the NBA, which, by the way, the NC, double A's now billion dollar into entity of which the players get in z. Zero other than the cost of education, I think is smart. Discernible minds are starting to figure this out. There's an alternative. And if anything, this is going to do as expedite the elimination of the one and done rule, which is coming. Anyway. Of course orgy Hinton doing this. I, I don't I don't know if this expedites it, I think it's just another step that shows that you don't necessarily need to go to college, especially tears. Ferguson, as I mentioned. He got drafted by okay? See he played in the we don't know where Brando and going to go, but I'm sure he's going to get drafted in the first or second round. So he's going to he's going to realize his dream as well without having gone to college. So I, I can't predict if it's going to be more prevalent, if more top, you know, four or five or ten high school prospects are going to start saying, you I don't need to go to college. I'm going to go play professionally, I'm gonna learn more professionally, and I'm still going to get looked at listen, there's something to be said for learning. How to even if you're not a post player, but just, you know, that leverage and that. That, that grown man strength, which is just different had a set of pick and be able to sustain it. If somebody tries to barrel through your chest, as if they're going under it or whether going on there over the screen, they're, they're gonna hit ya. Yeah. And if you're seventy three pounds in your and your your, your flame it away. Going to be like a flag flapping in the wind. So playing against grown men is a good thing. It will certainly celebrate your your. You'll mask your you'll, you'll close the gap on your deficient, or you'll get swallowed up. Yeah, but you'll close the gap on the deficiencies because that's all you'll focus on. I think that makes you wake up you eat differently your professional, although the trading tables in college, the high levels are stuff that people get your mind if you actually knew with these kids get. At the end of the day, I'm always going to be a proponent of going to school. Of course. I know you are just because to me, there's something to be said for maturity, even if it's free year even if it's for one year go in and just, you know learn how to grow up a little bit, and learn how to interact with, with all types of people, whether you're from the inner city Chicago, or whether you're from Lithuania out of wherever you so just to be with different people. Okay. And I never gonna change my mind on that. I just think that that's important playing playing playing in New Zealand. In an Australian basketball league is kind of introducing it to. Sure that's forcing you to grow up. Yeah. In China, you'll be able to understand everybody's. Yeah, but no doubt about it now to the count ability, it's other men who are putting food on their table, and they don't have the luxury that you have being eighteen and maybe making a mistake or two and being able to make it back monetarily on the back end. There's going to be guys on that roster who were hanging by a threat to their professional existence. Agreed. And if you mess up their future, or their president, you're going to be held accountable, so that will really hasten your development as well. Listen, he seems ready. He seems to have a plan and I wish you the best. I think it's great. He's gonna eat a lot of cakes sponsor is hungry Jack's. Is that what it is? Yeah. It's also. Yeah, man. The one thing you lose though. While all the things that you gain there. And we just ran through the one thing that you lose is that the only people that will really pay attention to orgy Hampton for the next year or so or NBA executives such true. You will play anonymity. Unless unless they there's a television contract, you'll be able to see them you'll be able to find them somewhere. Sounds like a great opportunity for CBS sports true. You won't be able to. He will not be packaged with the fanfare. Yes, it won't be Duke versus North Carolina. It won't be Michigan state going into Ann Arbor. It won't be even teams that aren't that good. Like Stanford playing Cal in the Pac twelve or you know, Jay writes, Villanova hosting good more team on a Saturday night on CBS on, you know, in Philadelphia and Villanova's number five of the country and Marquette's, twenty two. It's different. And if you are prepared to move forward without that spotlight and just work on your craft in a foxhole of nobody really. Watching dough fort I'm root for you. It seems like a good kid. All right. Take next football. The forties got to Bart star passed away over the weekend. Talk about his legacy a little bit something on Ben Watson. And the Rams. The Rams have real problem and it just happens to be with one of their best players a real problem. We'll get to that after acts up, they'd which is right now his rich. Sports flash. Guys. "Agency quickly approaching have already begun to decide what to do with their players were under contract and players any new us. Well, the Kansas City. Well, talking to Bill Simmons at MIT Sloan sports analytics conference over the weekend. NBA Commissioner Adam silver had some interesting comments. I mean, I think we live a bit in the age of anxiety. I've read studies on this. I think part of it is direct product of social media. And I think those players were talking about when I meet with them. What strikes me is that? They are truly unhappy. Some of them are amazingly isolated. There are some real studies showing these ties to direct connection to social media to the isolation that comes with the bullying that comes with social media. These guys are on their Twitter guys at halftime. And on top of that. There are so called friends over them saying look what he said. Why are so that the NBA has a happiness problem amongst his players? I buy it by also grow up and deal with the criticism come on. I conversation with a with a I know because of time. "But who else is on that list like Irving? Well, no, this is what mean Bill arguing over and again. Sean started this conversation before he came in. And then Bill you said, it's a normal kind of thing. Again. It's like a social media game. One gotta go and you get four things you like and it's ugly. Dr J Iverson in foles. So you lose that guy. You'd get you pick one that has to go, and I focused in on Iverson and falls, and to me, it's a no brainer falls would have to go. Obvious him. Nick foles fans since sound the guy hanging in there with them. Overwhelms barely. But I am. But they'll taught I was not would have to be Nick foles who which side. Are you coming down on you? Aggregating Knicks because what sets them apart from what really tell everybody says he won the Super Bowl and you pass an Irish because I didn't get an NBA team. But you have on it on his own which is like he's he's one. Well, I played in the air with a one super teams scour in every every other team. So he carried on the earth it happened. Again, one player one all star player a bunch of light second guy for the files near Connecticut. Larry Brian had a lot to do with it. I it Larry Brown always got on my nerves, but he was rally. He is a great year that he had. No, I went to me. It's a no brainer. With Iverson because Iverson was a fabulous player for over a decade here. Now, if I get my wish polls might be as well. And in fact, if the foles even hung around for two more years Bill, I would make my pick. Even just two more years. I would be could you cannot take away a Super Bowl, and it's magnificent. You can't. But I need more time and a foles before I white bound white out Alan Iverson's existence has a full of your sixer. I would have a real hard time hard time doing that. I would who's your cash for father, son. I was gonna get bad. But then I then I saw him. Join his daddy. They both played Australian league. That's that. So. Actually gonna say what's his name from from Minnesota Andrew Wiggins and his dad. Which would be absolutely correct. I'm drawing a blank. On who Andrew Wiggins is dad was acronym. It I know if I remember him an is here refers Dame, but he was suspended in eighth for two years for getting caught doing cocaine. There's like on Netflix documentary. Well that and being the daddy Mitchell wig. Fifty nine years old today. Played for the polls, the rockets and bounces around, you know, CBA teams and whatnot. It's backed played for the Sixers Mitchell Wiggins day gay did ninety one ninety two wait a minute that might be the last NBA team ever played for it was it was so. Why can't I find make Wiggins stacks? It doesn't look like see I might say average ten points. Looking family games? He played on one. If three eighty nine how many games is. His son played already. His son might might have already played more games than that three seventy. So he's gonna pass them this year this year, he will already have played in more NBA games. Then his dad did I come. I completely. I'm not gonna lie. I completely forgot about Mitchell. Wiggins and for good reason. He did not have. Hey, you know, what? Then he catch myself there. Anybody who gets the NHL NBA MLB NFL level? That's staggering is to get to that level. But once you get there, then you get compared to other people who've made it to that level. "You know he wears many hats right he's basically their technical director and so i think that one he leaves you'll see those those responsibilities were distributed in sort of a trick you know and sort of a modern front office structure and you can bring in somebody like to show who's who's really his his main focus will be tactically on b o who is innovative and smart and good at using young talent and all of those things that yeah i think if you have a chance to bring him in i've that thing i would be interesting it it does seem straits times i thought i was thinking about this today that one thing to retire thanked ten years ago or twenty years ago he he was coaching in japan when he was cotonou have to say in in japan did that that a major club on england there in france or germany would hire a manager out of the japanese legal mls or or the australian league it it seems insane now ray eight year acting it does although and you know if you look around europe headquarters worst toplevel coaching job was barscelona they hired em' internally from coaching youth team um many of the the the german german managers are getting the first shot at the you know add big time club in germany so england it it would be is insane at the top of england in part because the english teams have so much money that they can afford to everybody else take risks for now and then sort of the same way they would with players clocked the best ones um you know you're club for example worked at mind for seven years and worked at dortmund for seven years and then liverpool you know you paid big money to bring him in her and i think that as you sort of as the economic.
