"Of that's going to have to do with your, you know, like I said, your particular body or mechanics, how those things interact with one another, but, you know, it would be really interesting to see, you know, if we had even greater precision in that kind of injury tracking, like what insights we'd be able to glean not only in terms of what you ought to have done or might have been capable of doing absent that constraint, but also, you know, what is the real effect of this stuff? I think that we have a sense of some injuries, right? Like when you hear like, oh, he broke his hamate and he has to have surgery to remove it. Like you and I and the folks listening to this podcast like have a sense of it. It's like, okay, so there's the surgical recovery time. And then he's probably not going to hit for power in the same way he is normally capable of for a couple of months because we have seen this injury manifest enough to know that it can kind of stab you of power for a while, right? And we have that sense, but I'm sure that teams probably have a better idea of this than we do, but it would be interesting for public analysts to sort of be able to dig in on that stuff more. And there would be other limitations to historical data. Even if you opened a chest in somebody's attic and you're like, actually, I've complete injury physical injury records for the last hundred years. Amazing. We can't creepy if you had that in your attic, but maybe you haven't. You're like, wow, treasure trove, like there would be things that I imagine over time would start to be reported either more precisely based on the technology we have to diagnose those injuries, right? So we can be more precise than your leg fell off. That's how I imagined medicine being. I'm like 200 years ago. You're like, you're just falling off. Or stuff that there might be some stigma around that you're less inclined to report. So I think you're right that it would be really useful. It would also be invasive and weird, so there would have to be some of that, right? Like we'd have to navigate the ethics of that. But I would imagine that players today would be much more likely to report, here's the way that I'm struggling with my mental health, then players from. Gosh, even like 20 or 30 years ago, let alone a hundred. Austin Meadows right now. The tigers, yeah. Right, being able to say like, you know, this is impacting my performance on the field every bit as much as my physical health is and it's important for me to say that so that people know that they can say that. You know, I thought it was really admirable that he did that. So it would be, you know, there are definitely be gaps in what we could analyze and understand and again, we'd have to figure out like how do you ethically treat very personal medical data. This is always, I was talking to talking to my step mom about a player injury and I can't even remember what now and she's like, you know that about him, it might have been the janitor. She was like, she's like, how do you know that? I was like, oh, it was just a thing they told to be writers and she said. Everyone knew it. She's like, that's wild. Yep. So, you know, it does raise some questions too, but yeah, it would be it would be really interesting to be able to dig in on that and have a more precise sense of it. Yeah. All right, a few other pictures who've been performing well whom I just wanted to shout out here. I noticed that when I set the fang GRAS leaderboards from 2020 to 2022, minimum 250 innings pitched. The lowest whip of any major league pitcher over that span is one Clayton Kershaw. Wow. A .95 whip over that spin. We don't talk about whip all that often. But just about any stat that we could talk about, he would be close to the top of the leaderboard over that spin. I think if we chose, say, park adjusted fit, let's go with that. She is 6th over that spin and perhaps tied with Max Scherzer. It looks like it a little bit ahead of Shohei Ohtani, the pitcher. Yeah, it's Corbin burns Carlos rudan, Shane Bieber, Zach Wheeler, Kevin gausman, Clayton Kershaw, in park adjusted fib, I believe in park adjusted X of if we really want to get wild here. I think he is fourth behind Corbin burn Shane mcclanahan, Shane Bieber in Clayton Kershaw, which is just thinking of this because he had another fine start and I continue to think that as someone who just agonized over whether we passed the point of Pete Kershaw. I was just paying way too much attention to that because post prime Kershaw has been not nearly as durable, of course. Right. But man, when he's been on the mound, like he does it in a different way, obviously, and with a lot less speed than he used to. Pitch wise, but inning for eating, he remains. In quote unquote, decline. Just on the short list of the most effective pitchers in baseball. So sometimes with the Dodgers just because at times at least they seem to have such a wealth of starting pitching and you almost factor in and pencil in Clayton Kershaw to go on the iel a couple times a year and you just hope it's not going to be at a pivotal postseason time. It's like, oh, they'll be okay without Kershaw. And then you just see how good he is. When he pitches, like more than a hundred innings this year, 2.39 ERA, 2.49 5th, like he's fantastic. He's still so good. So this is not like a lion in winter sort of situation.

"Is with us to discuss the NL east hey and how are you? I am good, thank you for having me. This is a momentous day for all of us, I think, because it marks the end of positional power rankings for Meg. She is finished ranking all of the positions, as I understand it. And it marks the end of our division preview series. And it also marks the end of March Madness for Emma. You've been covering that for the past few weeks. So we have all gotten at something big behind us or we're about to win this episode is over, and that means that baseball is right around the corner. And next time we talk on this podcast, we'll be probably discussing actual Major League Baseball games, which is something that's nice to contemplate given how much had to happen for that to happen, and how unlikely it seemed to happen at certain points. So I'm in a good mood today. Yeah, I mean, I still have to write my positional power ranking summary piece. So if you want to figure out the exact wrong time for Michael conforto site, it's any time between now and tomorrow morning. But barring that, I think that we are in good shape here. And so yeah, I'm excited to have a seasons talk about won't it be nice to have a season. I think it will. Yeah. Emma, how does covering March Madness compare to covering April baseball? It's like the most intense consequential tournament time and then mostly meaningless baseball or at least not meaningless in the long run necessarily, but hard to tell what the meaning is beyond just the happiness that MLP is back. It's a very nice change of pace. I'm happy with the way it worked out with the lockout delay in that two days of downtime and then get to go from what I've fully recovered from everything I saw over the last two weeks. Yes, well I was about to say some really meaningless baseball because I will be at nationals park for opening day, but given that that'll be against the mets and starter to be determined, perhaps not so meaningless. I think it'll at least be interesting. But yeah. How appropriate for our preview today? Exactly. Well, I know that your March Madness was difficult in some respects, as you are at two Columbus, but aside from that, I hope it was satisfying and fun professionally. I don't know how often you've done this before. You unlike us, cover other sports fairly regularly, and we've talked to you a bit about that in the past, but yeah, this is an intense time in college basketball. Something that was fun about this was I was covering the women's final four, so I was in Minneapolis, and that meant I had an off day on the day that duke played and locked a Carolina. And I watched it and it was a pretty small bar there weren't a lot of other people in there, but Gino REM and his family were there. The Yukon women's side coach. And it was a very weird experience to not want to be to emotional and vocal realizing that the coach who would be in the women's championship the next day was like three seats down the bar for me. And neither of us had a good weekend. So yeah, I was gonna say it's very weird. So I guess the only thing that we have to briefly discuss maybe before we get to the NL east is a trade that was made immediately after we finished our AL preview segment, of course, and it was by an ALT and the race who traded Austin Meadows to the tigers for Isaac predators, the infielder and a competitive balance round pick. So I know Ben Clement has written about this for fan graphs and I guess my opinion of it has evolved after the initial they traded who for who? That's like a more established guy who's hit a bunch of homers and Isaac prettiest is not. And I guess as is pretty typical with raised moves, there is always a method to it of some sort and you can sort of understood what they're doing. I mean, we talked on the AL preview episode about their wealth of young infielders. And so now they've added yet another one in parades. And so it might sound sort of strange, although they just immediately replaced Meadows with Josh Lowe, not Lao. So they just have another top prospect, basically at every position. So they jettisoned someone and then they bring in someone who is maybe just as good, if not as well known. Yeah, I think that you can't, you can't view this trade in isolation. It has to be taken in conjunction with the decision to put low on the opening day roster. I Ben, I'm just I'm sorry for you that you now are going to spend at least two seconds before you say either Josh Lowe's name or Brandon Laos name, just thinking which is it because this team just likes to make things difficult for you. Well, at least they made things easier by trading Nathaniel Lowe, which that would have been the low apocalypse, the Lao pacalypse if they had had all three on the same roster. Yes. So I think we have to kind of take all of those things in concert and use that to assess this low was ranked 45th for us on our pre season top 100. So they are putting a well regarded prospect into the mix here, I think that as we were getting ready to record, they also announced an extension for many more go. So I think they have a view of the outfield so that is sort of coming together. I don't want to make light of the fact that there is a very racy part of this, which is that Austin Meadows was preparing to get a little bit more expensive, but he's also been sort of inconsistent from time to time in terms of his performance. I know that there have been some sort of aspects of that that are less in his control from an injury perspective. They're also seem to have been occasionally conditioning issues there. So I think that this is a race trade, but it is a raise trade that is being made in service of getting better for the rays and from Detroit's perspective. This makes a tremendous amount of sense, you know, I think that Meadows will shift into sort of their a team from an outfield perspective and then when they are able to actually bring the full force of their prospects to bear, they'll be in pretty good shape here. We should remember that Riley green got hurt and has a broken foot, and so he will not make the opening day roster in Detroit, not because they want to keep him down, but because he is injured. And so this gives them insurance in the meantime, and then a much stronger outfield won't screen is fully operational again. So I like this. And like, we had already done the outfield rankings. So it's fine. I don't care. You go nuts. Everyone has to stop for 24 hours now. I said that yesterday about starting pitchers, and then the White Sox were like, what if we added one Johnny cueto, though?.

"Was a two one player, you know, Josh Rojas and Austin Meadows and Alex rodo and Michael a Taylor were like basically two in players yandy Diaz hunter renfrow. And like they were, you know, they were contributors to teams and some of them were contributors to playoff teams, but you're not looking at those guys being like, how will we put together the Hall of Fame case for Josh Rojas? That's not what you're doing. No, he is still doing harder thing than that because he is also pitching, but I do think that he needs he needs more star turns to be, you know, a guy we look at and go, wow, yeah. Oh Tony, Hall of Famer, no. You know, like you said, provided he stays healthy. I think that the possibility exists that he just does what he needs to to get there on his own merits, and we don't have to worry about it and you'll get to vote for him and won't that feel so good you'll be so excited. You'll be like, I gotta go for a honey and you'll get to tell people the story of the season that meant so much to you, but if what you are is like Jameson tie on plus you know Andrew benintendi, I think that people will read that a little bit differently. So he should just keep being awesome and then we don't care about it, but I'm with you. I think that I understand why especially as guys retire, there is this instinct to start to. I mean, you're not eulogizing them exactly, but you kind of are right, your eulogizing their career and the natural question to ask is where do they stack relative to other guys and then you think about the other retire guys? And you're like, some of those guys are in the Hall of Fame, so we should wonder if this guy is. But we could just we could take a breath to appreciate guys careers and just, you know, remember fondly, the times that they shared with us and that we got to watch them and how we got to derive joy and wonderment from it, like we don't have to wonder is a couple of seasons of Cal Cointreau plus Michael a Taylor a Hall of Famer it's like no, but like we could just be excited about these guys as they, as they sort of move on to other things in their lives and appreciate their careers as they work. It's very, I don't know, it feels like it's jumping the gun if for no other reason than we spend so much time on Hall of Fame discourse. Why do we have to do it two times? Just do it the one time. Every year, like you're going to. It's like, you know, it's like when people celebrate Christmas in July, I'm like, I get where you're going for, but we don't have to do it. You've got a whole month and it's most of November, too, so. Anyway, related question from Reggie Patreon supporter who says reading about icho exploits and some of his recent exploits love each row. The post playing career eater who just like show up and just strike out a bunch of high school players or hit a bunch of bombs in high school batting practice if you write him a letter. He's like the great pumpkin or something where you're like. Just like show up at the most sincere team that wants him to appear and he'll just appear in your pumpkin patch magically someday except he actually will up here in table suit up and play baseball for you on the great pumpkin. But it's wonderful. I just love how much he loves baseball. But Reggie says reading about more etro exploits made me ponder a question that I will share with you. I think it is safe to say that a redraft of the 1992 amateur draft would have made Derek Jeter the top pick, my Astros blew it. I believe even the Astros have acknowledged blowing it on that pick. But now ponder, if we had a true worldwide draft and ponder also, if Japanese players in high school were in this alternative world eligible for that draft, each row turned 18 in October 1991 and would also have been in Jeter's high school graduating class looking back if each row could have been taken in the same draft as Jeter could a case be made that each row would have been the top pick. I mean, sure, 'cause we know stuff. Yeah. I think he should have been. I don't think he would have been because there would have been a big bias across him at that point by team. Even when he ultimately came over and years of succeeding in the NPP, there were still some skepticism about whether his skills would translate. So certainly, at 18, even though he was already a good and well-known player, I think a lot of MLB evaluators would have dismissed him. So he would not have been taken, but in retrospect, knowing what we know, yeah, I would take each trove over cheater, right? I mean, even if you look at the time that they overlapped in MLB, I think each row pretty easily outward Jeter from 2001 on and Jeter was already a really good player before that as was Jeter, but if we assume that they're queer that started at the same time or maybe even each row could have debuted a bit earlier, perhaps I think that he would have had the superior career record at least value wise. Yeah, no, for sure..

"Whitmer feels right there too so just amazing to me and again at some point we'll have our fantasy mvp discussion. I mean otani and cedric mullins. Somebody tweeted out that wainwright adam wainwright should be in. the conversation. prepares late I've got him everywhere. I've got him on all my teams. I'm not saying. I knew he was going to do this to this extent but i thought what he did. Last season in the two month period was legit. He's the number eleven pitcher on our player number eleven. And if you you take our closers like lamm hendrickson iglesias. He's like number eight. It's amazing adam way. How do you explain atom rain right because he wasn't even drafted in. Espn leagues this year. Or he was a last round pick pick. That's the thing. He's a little in the national league to He's a little to the nationally. What's cedric mullets. Instead to the american league where even if he wasn't a drafted player in your league he was picked up. almost instantaneous. after the season began. And you've reap the benefits of it. You mentioned him on the show. I mentioned what. I saw him late in spring training. Ai rostered in a couple of places. So i'm happy with the results have been getting. Usually in the national league's in spring training he adjusted to the diminish stuff and he's mixing pitches a lot better than he was. And that's making a lot of difference from and he's been a durable guy. I mean the fact that they don't have to worry about pitch cans. I think that helps. I think he's been prepared to throw. A high number of innings would helps. It would've been nice if they had removed after eight innings yesterday at not allow two more runs in the ninth inning. I understand pitch damping but but a guy got on base. I would've taken a man going the guy who saved it. But you mentioned since we're going into all the facts he said for the player race. The points leaderboard is not even a close race whatsoever. It's being dominated by showing a tiny. So i'm gonna give you my really neat and gigi stat him. He has nine players. Who have more batting fantasy points this year. Do you know how many batters have more than otani's pitching point justice pitching points as a pitcher only forty four hitters have had more points than otani has added a pitcher. Let's it's it's a historic caesar. He's mvp of the american league. Vlad guerrero guerrero Has future nbc's in them. It's amazing to me. But i only tiny has to win. Mvp i understand. The angel are making the playoff bluejays spokane. But i mean how. Can it not be autonomy. National league t. I think to tease. I think it'll be the mvp nationally. You and i think that the mvp could be a very close race. I actually do think that if the padres don't make the playoffs that's going to work very strongly against totti's in a close race. I think we're gonna get a couple of voters that swing it by a couple of points in another salafi. Harper's having a monster season joey. Votto of the reds happened to make the playoffs. I guess he would get some votes. Everybody loves motto It won't be calm anymore more Dodgers don't really have an mvp candidate. Is we trans not gonna win. Mvp and i don't think next month monthly would be. There's yeah but i look at his numbers. I mean harper's got this. There's numbers ron soto. But a last placed team does unbelievable. Soda has been amazing. As a matter of fact. I've been looking at it. So is twenty fifth on the player despite the disappointment early on. He's the number two hitter in points so anything leaning sabre metric. He is a huge huge pick. Next year i think he's number. One points and rodeo over to tease rotas would be close but points. I want. i want so definitely soda. Because of the walks. Yeah but i think even a rodeo who is safer for batting average and power and obviously you know he's healthy. He can run when he wants. People are going to go back and tell you that he disappointed in the early months but if you look at the numbers at the end of the year he's probably going to be a top twenty. Claire raider player. And then when. I did my my research on the baserunners it's amazing. So soda led the majors in baserunners on base for him when he came to the plate the last full season in two thousand nineteen abreo was right behind him and this season. You know breyer's like number two behind. Denver's sodas thirtieth. Josh bell is ten. That's amazing to me. Like because sodas on base all the time so like in fantasy like when we go into the next season you should look guys who were batting behind the stars. who's batting behind. Soto and harbor. Brian reynolds is like fifth and baseball and baserunners. Who best behind him. Right now is calling moran. These guys have value because they're guys ahead of them are always on base whereas the guy's head of harper on base because affiliates butchering the leadoff spot. It's just amazing to me like anyway. Let's move on. I wanna get briefly to josh alot of tampa bay the reason we didn't lead the show with his. Because i doubt he's in the majors on our next show comes around. But he's a top outfield prospect for tampa bay. How do they keep doing this. thirteen pick in two thousand eighteen and he debuted yesterday only because randy rosa lewis but low had a hit a walk stolen base. The razor unbelievable raised lead. The majors in runs scored. Despite having no like superstar player austin meadows is gonna knock on one hundred runs but now they have crews wanna franken. We'll get to wander franko later in the show and say how much we love him. But josh low. I assumed josh low as a starting outfielder for them next season. Don't use so where where would you rank. Because that's a five category town. And this is a little shades of cow talker where he fills. We're in the stolen base categories Has a pretty decent walk k. Rate is a little higher than i'd like. I think that could lead to some streaking. Nice and based on that team and how they manipulate service time. I wonder whether there's going to be some platooning. Sending the miners early mixing and matching in the early stages before he locks in as a regular for the second half of the year. So i'll say right now. He's i don't think he's really a top forty. I feel for me if i had a promise he play. I think he's top thirty. Maybe even top twenty five capable of the position. I like to kyle talker. Comp makes a lot of sense By the way from earlier the bizarre ground that was the monosso fan. Who tweeted that. And and i can't remember who tweeted adam or ryan malloy tweeted desk. Let's give them credit the latest on trout to graham. You see like you see a pathway to the plane is only three weeks left season. Like i don't understand like why the i guess angels don't wanna disappoint their fans but like trust not playing. Why would they even risk that. And the same with the mets in the ground yes. They're still contending. But update for you. Would you drop them right now..

"And he he is the guardian of our show and merely the conductor or care about fannies focus baseball presented by linked in jobs trade deadline. Week tristan has already been a couple of trades and exciting. Ones that we've written about and we're expecting a lot more action the rest of this week. It's kind of odd. You don't often see trades like one week before you often see teams waiting until the last minute to make deals but You know like minnesota wait another week nelson cruz or pittsburgh another week. On adam frazier. Maybe they would have gotten more but good for these teams. Were acting early. I mean they should have acted a month ago. In in a way. I mean in a fantasy sense. Don't wait until your trade deadline do it a month before or weeks before you. You need the help for the rest of the season. I never understood that in fantasy like i have a league where the trade deadline where everything happens. I'm like oh. I want to do it a week before. Procrastination among the fantasy managerial crew Yeah we we do advise that often. We've already done it on this show. Several times deals in early It cruise is a big name that far in advance of that deadline. The only thing. I can theorize just with the deadline being a true deadline this year in a full season. This is the second time that's happened with two thousand nineteen. Were they instituted. That's probably what it's about we're going to see. I think we're gonna see bigger names. And i think we're gonna see at least three of them between now and friday w i i hope so I wanna see you know. We know the names on the cubs are trying to move a lot of their players. A lot of teams need starting pitching. Max scherzer would be a big key. Here you know so. That would be interesting but Nelson cruz i mean. Is there going to be hitter as good as nelson cruz traded. I doubt it. I mean is a guy who has the most baseb- over the last eight years and his top three over the last three. He's he's not showing signs of decline. And you put them in tampa bay's lineup and it makes everybody around him better. It makes me like austin meadows more in g. man choi and maybe not wonder francke who goes from like second or third in the line up to like six or seven but it stabilizes their new lineup and you know nelson cruz isn't going to slump. He's just really really good. But i don't think this is makes him more valuable and fantasy do you. Maybe a little bit because of the pieces around him knocking. More run-scoring morons. I don't i don't think it does. I don't think it matters whether it does or not. I think his value is still going to be excellent as it was previously. The the little known. I tweeted about that. That will bring it up. He actually gains in the process schedule. Schedule-wise five non interleague games The rays of already gotten a lot others out of the way and nationally parts where they lose the he has an ability here to play very high volume of games for a team that loves to mix and match. And i don't think he's the kind of player that you sit to mix and match so i think he plays just about as much the only real negative is that. It's a huge ballpark downgrade. Going from minnesota the tampa bay. But i'm not sure it matters with him. You mentioned it a guy who's not really showing declined. He's a forty one year old who's career curve. Looks like a thirty one year old. Which means tiny tiny little bits of downturn but not enough that you really be actionable. you know. it's it's not a bad spot for him. To be in front of you mentioned bronco could lose value. Going to six hidden behind those guys with high on base percentage is. Maybe it's not as bad as we think. It just means a fewer as i agree with that and i would have liked to have that information before i filed my story on nelson cruz. That the rays of already played all their d. h. road games Or their interleague road games. But that's gordon over to. I believe this. Well that's a big deal Adam frazier again. His value doesn't change very much. You can make a case better lineup. More runs scored. He's going to lead off. I soon for san diego play. Second base and outfield. I think this is bad. News if you invested in our hosmer but if you're investing in our costumer bad news all season long anyway But i think adam fraser's and underrated player more viable. Well i mean. The base sits are valuable anywhere. Batting average is important but it really only category guy in rotor leagues not obey steeler not a power more valuable points leagues. You know. Adam frazier took a while for people to even adam frazier this season fantasy. I remember looking back in. May he was available and half a leagues. Yeah i'm not sure. I'm totally aligned with your valuation of fraser here. But i don't think it's a it's a bad move for him. The problem is they've now dropped them into a san diego lineup. Where they're perfect position to do the mixing and matching that the dodgers and the rays. And the as do and that's going to. It's going to cost somebody plankton. I'm with you. i think it's eric hosmer a against lefties i think it's probably will meyers against righties. But guys like j cronin worth are gonna lose a game here there. Adam frazier himself is going to lose again here there. Trent grisham is here there. And you could go up and down the line. But i think the other ones don't really get affected or fernando. Totti's manny machado. I don't think they're going to sit really in this scenario and i'm not so sure. Frazier is the everyday leadoff man. He might be but he's really no better at this than either tommy against lefties or trunk. Rishon against righty. So i'm curious to see that first lineup like the first line if they throw his he's gotta be the easy he's he's not superior to them. They're leaving the major leagues hits and he might wanna batting title and he. He's he has no problem against left handed pitching like i don't know why they wouldn't just leave them alone. I i see your point eight like this isn't a guy you bet six either so to me. His values pretty steady on basis. Fight against lefties. Enwright why were they not lead them off. If that before this year he has not been good against lefties. He should not be leading. Offer them against lefties. They should be playing tommy against lefties and leader off. There's really mean no doubt in my mind that that's what they should do. The huge grades you think. There's a risk here of frazier losing playing time but not cruise. I think that there's an issue where somebody on the padres who matters is gonna lose it in might be spread across several players including frazier including cronin worth. I think the the the right way to play this as frazier leads against righties. He probably that's seven three if he plays against lefties. And you have to downgrade each guy like a buck in value or ten to fifteen rankings. But it probably doesn't make much of a difference. But i don't like it that i just don't i. Don't think the slammed up. Let's talk about the teams left behind here. Minnesota trades cruiser. Line books a whole lot. Different brett rooker. I soon be their d. h. Now and pittsburgh gets back to capri preto marcano. Who's a lot like frazier a powerless guy. Not a good percentage efficient base base-stealer but should hit for average. I don't know he'll get that chance this year. We might go right to the minor leagues. But is there anything here for these two bad teams now. Minnesota was supposed to be a good team. I think they were my world series. Big don't listen to eric. A delight brennan rooker marcano guy. You're gonna add and only any interest there. Yeah and i think we're talking only leagues with roker and marcano and i like this has been here. That marquan was a great opportunity. The pirates really could throw him in there. He's already had major league. Experience wasn't great with the padres when he got it but he should play pretty often and does have similar. Production to frazier. I don't think he's going to get the hit rate. There's no way he's going to match that rooker. Three two outcomes guy but you know there's value in that and he batted. I was sitting yesterday about actually the best as he added. Yeah it's a great opportunity for he's gonna kill your batting average body. The on-base percentage leaks kinda interesting. You know so. I wrote about the hitters over the weekend and you wrote about the pitcher being traded richhill. Who goes from tampa bay minnesota and very strange move. I assumed when i first thought hard the trade that was about salary because they are picking up crews they needed to dump off hill. That's not the case then. I assume this means shane. Baz is getting promoted into his rotation spot Which i think would have been the lead of my story. I don't like hill as much with the meth..

"He would be The astros have basically stayed the same asteroid. Bluejays indians these clubs. Not moving the needle necessarily anymore than was anticipated at the beginning of the season. Yeah the astros. I think much as i hate to say it. That number will continue to increase. Because they just got fram valez back. Who's who just shove human-like. Seven innings punchy and that offense that offense rolls the poelman team blue jays got the blue jays So their offense like we talked about the blue jays offense coming into the season being you know. Oh they're the baby jay's legacy as they've got this guy they've got like kevin bijou gets on baseline glad he's got some pot but in bogut coming into his own tasker hernandez it's fucking memos. I love this blue jays team. I'd love the more if they have less of an angels approach. Where in like hundred and review. I wanna say since the start of twenty. Eighteen has the second lowest era in baseball. To jacob degrom hundred review and when he signed toronto that was met with very little fanfare. Everyone's like oh. Yeah that's cool good for them good for them. But that's why when garrett cole was a free agent i was like if this team wants to be for real. Go sign gary cole- because it's not a matter of like you know he fucking garrett cole panders with the oh. I grew up a yankee fan and like look at this picture. Me like yankee fan forever. Science if the blue jays outbid garrett cole gear kohl's blue simple as that like talking. He pitched his last game with the houston astros and took questions. In a fucking bored for pat love he he was going to the highest bidder if the blue jays made a better offer that's where he's going. They signed george springer. He's obviously had his injuries. But like if the blue jays signed garrett cole the other thing here is that who who plays the same divisions the blue jays. Oh the yankees. If the yankees don't have garrett cole there in third i mean they are in third place there in fourth place like. That's the difference like that much better but you also greatly weaken one of your biggest threats in your own division. But that's not always the most sound approach is to bring on a guy. Just tell me what are they lead. I want to say they lead the majors in fucking slugging and yes a yo. Yet they fucking. There's many offensive categories jays player of the month. Marcus simeon fucking outstanding baseball player both sides of the ball. Everyone was like can he be as good as he was in his. Mvp runner-up season. Can he do. It can be better than that was the product of the oakland a.'s environment. Or can he move on from that organization and still be an all star elite talent somewhere else with a different team. Helping that team win baseball games. Can he do that. The answer is yes. And he's been doing it so that team to me if they had put forth the effort and the financial resources to sign garrett cole when they had the chance are they in first place right now if they're not in first place. They're threatening their competing. Oh no question. They're threatening because all these starts the garrett. Cole is not winning for the yankees. The yankees aren't scoring runs. He'd get all the fucking run support. He needs in toronto. Like how many starts. He's making what is like twelve thirteen star with the toronto blue jays. Offense those are all wins. So like where are they. They're not thirteen games back. Like you know what that's my take. That's my take if the toronto blue jays had signed garrett cole there in first place by like three or four games right now. It gives them a viable option other than review. And who which is where people have kind of gone review and then who review and then who dip understandable. That's fine yeah but that is a very real reason right now. Why the jays are where they're at and we're talking about the slight austin meadows. Do it again no way. Oh no homer. Yeah two run shot. I mean he's he's a fucking problem. You so again program notice. Stay hot or not. It's a great show comes out. Every monday came out on tuesday this week because the holiday but yeah i mean any. If you're on the cold list the cold curse is real. I mean you turn into a fuck in all star stood. If you're on the cold list and guys are on the hot list. They tend to stay hot. Austin meadows is on the hot list this week on tuesday. He homered on tuesday. And he just hit a two run homer off of garrett cole garrett cole so maybe maybe i'm wrong maybe they wouldn't be in first place. This guy stinks. National league teams had stayed the same. I don't know how many surprises here dodgers ninety seven point nine percent as we sit today all the way down from ninety eight point four percent. The padres slight uptick from ninety two point. Three percent of ninety six percent the metropolitans the owners of the largest division lead in baseball at eighty two point eight percent right now all the way up from eighty two point two percent and the brew crew fifty one percent all the way up from forty two point two percent. The cardinals cardinals thirty one point eight percent up from twenty nine percent at.
