And there's plenty of great defensive forwards out there. But I mean, you know, they crunched the numbers previous high for expected goals percentage in a season with 63.9% by one Henrik zetterberg in O 7 O 8, 63.9%. Bergeron's at 68.8 right now. That's almost 5 percentage points better. Like it's not remotely close right now in terms of how much of an impact he's had on this team and his impact on the ice. And yeah, it's one of those ones where you can have that debate as to other guys who are worthy of it. We've seen, I think, up in Toronto a lot of people say Austin Matthews was just serving him. And maybe he's in the conversation. It's like swimming. It's nothing wrong with being in that conversation. Austin Anthony is a fantastic player and it's probably slept on as a defensive player because he all the highlights are him ripping shots for goals, right? Makes sense, but when you look when it comes down to crunch time and you determining who's the worthy guy, sometimes it's better not to overthink it. Sometimes it's better just glance at the stats. Look at the underlying numbers. And it's not a legacy thing, right? For a gallic bergeron. It's, again, he's probably the best defense for whatever. But when he's at age 36, putting together numbers like this and how tilted the ice is in Boston's favor when he's out there at this age, it's wild. And again, it shouldn't be, you make the argument that the last couple of years he's already should have hit that 5th selkie trophy, but if he doesn't win this year, something has to have gone drastically wrong. It'll make for a fantastic poke bear episode if we get to June July and he's not the selkie winner because I don't think it's close right now. Yes, no, I completely agree with you on all points there. And I think again, bergeron being this dominant tells you this team should not be selling or staying pat. They need to make moves, like they need to do things. And I think they will, but I think for a lot of people who are like, oh, they need to blow the whole thing up. Or trade, you know, bergeron or something. It's like, no. You don't get seasons like this out of bergeron at 36. She's like this had a 36 year old player's almost ever. You've Brad Marshall. Again, it hints at this you need to keep competing. You don't know what's going to happen in the playoffs. This group has gone to the distance before they could do it again. So it's worth going for it, especially with bergeron, just being one of the best seasons of his career this year. I mean, it is ridiculous. How good he's been. And again, he's also had different wingers. It is not just Ben posternak and Marcia in the whole year. He's had different guys on his right side. So it's incredibly impressive. And for a guy like marchand who, we've talked about it before, has kind of staked his claim as arguably the best left wing, one of the best players in the NHL for half a decade now, right? Like in the fact that he hasn't been able to represent Canada on the Olympic stage and it's something that he has mentioned years ago how much he would take pride in doing that. Of course, it's brutal for these guys. It's brutal for him. You feel for a guy like stamkos who hasn't been able to get that chance before, I don't think he was only a reserve, I think in 2014, he didn't get to play Victor hedman, which shocked me. I felt like he was just like an easy shoe in on some of those teams for Sweden. He's never had a chance, so yeah, you hope that they do something to accommodate some of these players, whether that be like a World Cup, which is what Taylor hall mentioned is something that they should do or Bruce Cassidy to kind of mention during our last media availability. Like what if the NHL just switched gears and participated in the Summer Olympics? Well, I guess what basketball does. Basketball is technically a winter sport. But yes, MBA is not going to grind their season to a halt and let these guys go over there. So why not have it be like kind of the World Cup where July August? Again, these guys maybe sacrifice their summers a little bit, but hell, these guys were also willing to sacrifice frigging four to 5 weeks on a hotel in China, especially the chance to plan it. I feel like that's a very minor concession if it allows you to play in the Olympics. So that seemed like a pretty good compromise for both parties here for the NHL and you don't lose out money and the players get to play on the Olympic stage, but I think it means so much to them. So whatever the case may be, hopefully they're able to get something sorted out and for a lot of these players, because again, I think as much as the NHL doesn't make money off of it, it's so good for the game to have your top stars over on that stage with that exposure. And look how much like the NBA benefited internationally from pro players being over there. And I know hockey is already kind of ingrained in markets outside of North America and Europe, especially, but just to have Connor McDavid up against Austin Matthews and Patrick Kane and all these other guys on that stage with those exposure that the Olympics bring..

That was part of the reason why his goal numbers were not as high assist wise. Nathan MacKinnon was the top five. Was top five in the NHL. Connor McDavid's was number one. And Austin Matthews was way down on the list. Awesome. Matthews does not set up his teammates. He expects them to set him up. So As it comes out in the wash. For total points this year. Carmack David number one in the NHL. Austin Matthews tied for fourth. And Nathan MacKinnon eighth. Nathan MacKinnon. Is arguably the best player on the planet. Now I know that's tough to say that after the last couple of games, but he is Right? He is also the best player on the best team in hockey. The president's trophy winning Colorado Avalanche Nathan McKinnon is their best player. That is why he is on this list. I don't think He puts up a strong enough. Statistical case. This is not one of his better. Regular seasons. In terms of where he ranks in the NHL. Just not It's pretty good. Lot of guys would take one of Nathan McKinnon's worst seasons as their best season. But I don't think it's his what he has going for him his best player on best team. That's the argument for Nathan MacKinnon Best player on best team. Statistically. Its economic Connor McDavid's Right and consumer David Even though you know, last year Leon dry Seidel. The argument against him was he wasn't even the best player on his own team. Uh, Connor McDavid's is the best player on that team, and he had an unbelievable statistical season. And Edmonton made the playoffs. I think Connor McDavid's Is your heart trophy winner and I don't know that it will be especially close. And with Austin Matthews, it was the look at what he did for one of the NHL premier franchises. Right, Anyone The rocket Rashard, so That's why they're on there. You look back to 2017 where I think that Nathan MacKinnon rightly deserve the Hart Trophy and was robbed by Taylor Hall, whose real What he had on Nathan MacKinnon was that his team Picked up more points in a weaker conference and he played in the tri State area. And I will go to my grave saying that's why Taylor Hall when the M V P back in 2017 Nathan MacKinnon was better, statistically in every category. Every single category he was better than Taylor Hall. Still, statistically, he was the better player. Would argue 95 points in the Western Conference are more valuable than 97 in the East. But you look at this year. I just don't think Nathan MacKinnon has quite the argument that he did back in 2017. I'd love to see him win it. The guy deserves one. Right. Maybe this year is not his best statistical year, And it's a bad year when Connor McDavid's scores what he scored this year like 250 points. The guy was unbelievable. Nathan MacKinnon. Deserves a Hart trophy, but he was probably more deserving in years past than he is this year. But we'll see. I mean, I think that Again. Philipp Grubauer is the as best chance, and I think That's that's the hill. I'm willing to die on. Philipp Grubauer being the Vezina Trophy winner is the hell I'm willing to die on with Nathan MacKinnon. And with Kale, my car I could make a case. There certainly deserving of being finalists. But I think that there is Someone in the field that is probably more deserving than they are. Who knows? Maybe this year, Nathan MacKinnon will get one because the voters will look and say, Oh, my God, How does he not have a hard trophy?.

The original lawsuit was filed in 2019 by some students and nonprofit groups. They argued that these tests disadvantaged minority and low income students and students with disabilities under the agreement s A T and A S. A T scores won't be considered for students applying for entry until 2025. But scores that are submitted voluntarily can be used for course placement once a student is admitted. Governor Gavin Newsom is proposing an end to this. If learning in the fall as part of his revised A budget proposal for the last year school district in California have had the option to teach kids outside of the classroom. Newsome is proposing a return to the pre pandemic normal next year. We want kids back in person this fall full time. The budget proposal that Newsome unveiled today includes $2 billion for schools to improve coronavirus testing and ventilation. And for parents who prefer to keep their kids at home districts can offer traditional independent study, although there will be new requirements to provide kids Internet connection and track daily participation. and and we need to find a way to be better I talked to Matt Duchene after the second period and he was clearly frustrated you guys were clearly frustrated that's another thing how tough is it to keep frustration you guys know it's this is gonna have to put your foot on the gas the rest of the way and your block to close out the fourth month of the season yeah how tough is it to keep frustration out of a room that we all know how hard it is to win in this league and ups and downs and if you let that get to you get frustrated that's one you know things don't go anywhere now we gonna just handle handle the moments and and you know stay poses a group and and confident in and go better business every day you can't you can't back it as last eight minutes again you're all over did you take something out of that Gerry Ford yeah that's you know use your heart game when we played fearless and the last eight minutes of it felt like we were unstoppable yeah and you know that's that that's what can be a frustrating thing where you just gotta understand that we can play like that if we can get to the non stop we're gonna win a lot of hockey and so it also it's also it's a good thing you know we had that great push but it's also frustrating we need that we need that right from the start sure anything fun during the break those are it all seriousness how everybody thinks it's your body but a lot of it's mental to write sometimes it's nice to get that mental break yeah yeah totally so you know it's nice to just pick your feet up for a few days and had not be traveling all over the We started Austin Matthew signs, we had a board for a day Clode, you know, this business really well that contract what is that going to do to the business of the National Hockey League? Look, we never know the wise in how the deal gets done unless you're on the inside. So we, unfortunately, don't represent us them. And we don't know what drove both parties to come to agreement on a five year deal. But it's changing it's changing everything it's opening up the door for players now to wanna find those shorter term deals at a number that you would think unless you're signing for max year length turn deal. You're you're not getting that number. So it's an interesting time. I think that it was probably a lot of giving fake. Who knows?
