"Can't nobody tell me otherwise. All right, let's move on because lord knows, at least on this show, we have talked a lot about in his exclusion. From the Mexican national team, I know we're both huge. Welcome to Wrexham fans. You saw Wrexham in FA Cup action on ESPN+ and ESPN2 over the weekend against Blake's Spartans who, by the way, had a guy who had been playing in Nisa with Michigan stars on their team, crazy small world. The game ended in a tie, so the replay is tomorrow 3 p.m. Eastern Time. You can watch the team. You can do Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on ESPN2 and ESPN+ tomorrow. MLS playoffs ongoing as we speak. So let's get you caught up with the weekend action. First, the galaxy beat Nashville at home won nothing Juliana alcohol the game winner. Yeah, he also started this play, I should say, right there, but also was a cause of the goal that you did at Fernández to be called back. So good on him. Also on Saturday, since he going up the Red Bull arena beating New York two to one Brandon Vasquez getting the tap in as he ran past Aaron long. I know U.S. men's national team fans took note. No, no, no, no, no. That was not running. Yeah, good goal. Craziest game of the weekend, Sunday, Austin, the two C needing penalties to get past 7 seat RSL, Austin down two zero in the first 15 minutes. With a stoppage time penalty to make it two two and four extra time, Brad steuver among the Austin heroes in the penalty shootout, then later Sunday up north, Montreal wore down Orlando to win two zero in Montreal, smile Kona the game winner in the 68th minute Jordy mihailovic scored late from the spot as well as Montreal advances. "In terms of from suburbia to regional to metro. So yeah, quite a bit of overlap and but they're also a racetracks at the end of the day. They're just, they've got a start and a finish and that's our stage, if you will. So it's cool, it is cool to be able to go to so many different tracks around the world. And I remember thinking long before the coming over here was even an opportunity, you know, it'd be cool to go see and how to lay it or a Darwin or a townsville and you didn't now say that you have been doing those for the last 5 years was an unexpected you had asked me 6 years ago, I thought I'd be doing that for what I think that would be happening. I'd be very surprised, but yeah, no complaints whatsoever. Mitch, in some ways, supercars in the indie series are the most alike in all of motor sport. Yeah, absolutely. And that's one thing I did always enjoy when I was working in IndyCars. We'd have a Formula One driver come over like a max Chilton or masala and obviously someone like Roman Grosjean would have been a great example over the last couple of years. They would talk about how bumpy some of the circuits in Formula One in Europe would be that they would race on and then you go get greeted with a Detroit Belle Isle street circuit, which is certainly a very vast difference to what you would see on a European track. But that's part of the character of those circuits and we talk about character with racetracks all the time. That would have been a key word at puka Kelly on the weekend, sat down being another one that it adds another element or another dimension to how races can play out and certainly how individual laps play out. So yeah, it's one thing I enjoy, it brings a bit of authenticity that you're actually you've got to be tough and you've got to be able to race hard and those are some of those characteristics that, like you said, each of each of those series really are quite good at display. Getting ready for better and crowd the image. One of the unique things that maybe you could talk more about would be, I've only been to two. That's a 2013 2015 Indy 500s. But one of the things that is unique about that track is that how quickly the crowd gets into the seats and how quickly they leave because you can turn around and sort of standing there and suddenly they're all there and then moments after the race is gone and it seems the crowd goes. It's an extraordinary thing. I guess one of the glories of when you've been doing that race for over a hundred years, you start to figure out traffic management after a while. But yeah, it is always impressive. We always talked about it as well is that we usually hang out for an hour or so after the race and my parents live about 20, 30 minutes north of the speedway. So it was very seldom had significant trouble getting home after the race. So it's interesting. Yeah, the point that you don't think about too often and you wouldn't observe unless you're there, but absolutely, you made it not much different at least in the mornings with people coming in as well. Not much different about this. You talk about that hill on drivers right heading into hell corner. That'll be full at 6, 7 o'clock in the morning on Sunday and a couple of weeks and it'll stay for the entire day. So it's certainly no different there. How many of those people end up camping rather than going home because it's two and a half, three hours out of Sydney, rather than out of the next major city as opposed to indie being right in a metro area, but the enthusiasm and the passion in the crowd there is certainly parallel to what you would see at the speedway as well. So there are two very, very cool events and I feel very privileged privileged to have been able to work both of them. Indeed, I had 7 month old mayors who I'm sure you will know from the then speed cafe. He was my navigator when we went from Austin down to Houston and then to Indianapolis. And we did a U turn right in front on race day right in front of the main gate. The cops just stood there. We're in a fit 500 and they just didn't give us any trouble. It was fascinating. I could imagine they had plenty more to worry about at the moment. You can tend to get away with a couple of little issues there every now and to get on race day because there's 300 some odd thousand other people that are trying to get in and out or get somewhere there. So you get a little bit of leeway. I actually thought it was fascinating that I parked so close to the media center. In fact, the only place I've parked closer to the media room was that winton, where I was right next to all the building, but at Indianapolis, because I was in a paid 500, it was very close to the doors. It's a fascinating event. As a much from your point of view, that you've got to get concentrate on there for better. What are the key things that you've got to get right for that? Well, for us, you know, I work pretty closely within our commercial team. So it's making sure that all of our partners are if they have anything that they want us to try to achieve there, whether it's photo shoots or video content or ticketing and things like that, making sure we've got all those boxes ticked. So we're planning ahead as far as we can. We had a meeting yesterday, just amongst our group, talking about just the Wednesday, because the Wednesday about this is actually the crazy state of the year for us because it starts with appearances in the morning. There will be photo shoots. It'll be radio interviews, then there's a driver's parade in town. There's the signing session in the back of CBD as well and then track walk in the afternoon. More media and commercial appearances thereafter. So it's a very full on day from sun up to sundown. And you often need to be in multiple places at once, but we've been there before. We figured it out. It's been a couple of years since we've done it for the obvious reasons, but I was just talking with Thomas Randall and Jake this morning and reminding them that their first bathroom was the only normal they've done, which was 2019 and just as a reminder that it's going to be full on all week, but that's why we do what we do, really. Obviously, that's our crown jewel and everyone wants to be a part of it. Everyone wants to see it. So when you're in the main game and at the top level, it's going to be quite a bit going on. So, but at the same time they're all professionals they know what they're doing, at least they try to be professionals most of the time, but it'll be really cool to have all that back as much of as chaotic as it is. It's a really cool event, such a cool spectacle. It was a really good little taster or a teaser if you will for what we're going to see in terms of the passion level. You'll see it at mount panorama. One of the coolest tracks in the world while the coolest races in the world. And like I said, we're all just really excited to be a part of it and have it back properly again. I guess it should be noted that a lot of the traditions that baathist are extremely similar to the traditions of the 500 in Indianapolis. And that is in no small part because of Mike Raymond, who was heavily involved in the 7 network and the broadcast of the race, and his background in speedway as a promoter and then moving on into his television roles as well. He really did set the baathist event up looking at what the Indianapolis 500 did with all the parades, all the preamble, and then of course the race itself. And back in the 70s, the race at Indianapolis wasn't three

"I'm going to go with South Carolina. And I think it's, I think that's a good question. I think we agree on that one. I think we agree on that. Although, let's give Howard first time in the torment since 2001. Shout out to Thai grace. That's my girl. I love her. She has done it the right way. And she's just a magnificent mentor for those young ladies. So I was thrilling to see them doing the Gritty getting off the bus and having a great old time after winning the miek. It was really exciting to see the smiles on their faces. And they lost the meat last year. So they lost the championship had to sit there and watch the other team get the confetti, cut down the nuts. It always loved that story. And we have a couple of the teams in the tournament this year that came back and persevered through that loss to come back next year. And there are DMV schools, so we hope Howard wins powered when sniper and carnet words really good too. Cinderella team. I'm going to run in the southland with two buzzer beaters and they're in their first NCAA tournament. So yeah. That's what we got on them. Thanks for playing though. I don't think it's going to go well for them. Stop going. So now we have Miami and South Florida on the 8 9 line and you better be picking Miami. I certainly picked Miami. Listen, I picked Miami the last two weeks in the AP poll at number 25 because of their progress and their momentum. And it's always the committee always says, okay, your last ten games. Okay, how about their last 5 games? Amazing, right? And their run through the tournament was spectacular. They got to the championship game. So kudos to Katie Meyer in that group for their fight and their grit. And that's what it takes. It takes heart. Obviously you have to execute, but it takes that fight in postseason play. And if you're trending this way and they didn't not have it earlier in the season, they lost some really super close games to some really great ranked teams. So let's not get it twisted. They didn't come out of nowhere and all of a sudden start playing well. They gradually moved ahead and they got to postseason play in the AC tournament and showed all that hard work and grit was not for nothing, right? They went out there and showed themselves. So yeah, I picked Miami on that one. So this is why I love it. I don't know who you picked though. I don't know if you take it out. This is why I love Christie because I don't have to sit up here and just be the one praising Miami. I cosign everything you said on Katie Meyer has been an excellent coach for this team. And they are really, I think they are talented, reversal. They have a lot of depth as well. So I'm excited to see them in this tournament. USF is no joke whatsoever. Bethlehem is fantastic. They are really, really good team, well coached. So it'll be interesting. I like that there's a kind of a local tinge to this, although I'm not sure how many local kids either of these schools has another Miami has a couple but not too many. I'm not sure how many USF has from the Miami region. But it'll be fun game no matter what. Yeah, now it'll be fun. And I think, you know, it's a great test. This opportunity for all 68 teams is such a great test. And they want it to be a testimony to their hard work from the empty gyms in the summer. They're putting in the extra time. And they're doing the individual workouts on the track in the weight room, all that stuff. Here's why you were doing all that. It wasn't just to get through it on a Tuesday. What time is it? I'm hungry. It's lunchtime. No, it was for this moment. And you know, the dreams will come true and it should be a magical for all 68 teams, but I think that first round is really when you put your toe in the water and test the temperature of what you're about to jump into and I think it's just fun. The challenge of that is fun to watch. On speaking of teams and neo Tesla water a little bit in the first around the 68, we have UNC and Stephen F Austin. Now this has become kind of a sexy upset pick. You know, I think UNC has been a little overrated by the stats this year that really high in that they've lost some crucial games and they've been up and down this year. Stephen F Austin has been a good team. I'm still going with you and see. I just think you're going to see really good. I don't think they're going to lose in the first. I don't think they're going to overlook Stephen F Austin, especially if people picking against them. So I'm going to go with you and see. Yeah, I went with you and see also I just thought just how competitive the ACC was towards the end of the season in particular, we were talking about the tournament and all those great teams just beating up one another. I just think that that has them battle tested to face a team like Stephen F Austin. And then back in the 1900s, when I was playing. We played Stephen F Austin down in Austin, Texas. In the sweet 16 game. So, I mean, I don't know what that has to do with anything. But I just remembered that. Wait, so you guys had to play Steve enough Austin and then Texas? Yeah. In Austin. Yes. On the wow, okay. Yeah. But on their court. And we had our band and about a handful of parents and all of that there. And some boosters and whatnot. But totally outnumbered. It was, you know, three, 13,000 probably 800 of them. And maybe 200, you know, they're for us, counting the band cheerleaders and parents and boosters. We'll talk more about Chris's experience as a one seat. When we get down to NC state in the Bridgeport region, certainly get into. Let's talk Arizona versus UNLV. I originally had UNLV beating Arizona. I looked at a little bit closer at UNLV. They have really struggled against good teams on their schedule. And Arizona has Kate respect. So I want Arizona. I went Arizona also. Another team, you know, I know they got bumped out in the PAC 12 tournament sooner than they would have liked to, but I just think that it's going to be a challenge for anybody facing a team who went to the championship game last year. And have a number of players who have that experience, I think that counts for something. And I picked them because of that. Yeah, no, I agree. I think that experience is going to help them. You know, V is a good team. Arizona was planning Steven and Austin. I may go Stephen F Austin, but I think Arizona Arizona is going to be good enough. And they're going to be hyped up to get Kate Reese back. And then that sets up in a very nice stick around matchup. We can talk about in just a second. Georgia versus the slash date in or the Paul, who'd you take here? Oh.

"Fair. Just a little bit. I'm gonna have. Right. Right. Is that my own issue? Sure. Judge your way. So here's what happens. Before Christmas, I run into Rachel and my mom's birthday party that she came to town for. She tells me that Sarah. Remember the girl from San Diego. With a husband now and two kids recently relocated to my city. I asked where they live, turns out half mile from my house. What a small world. Two days later, I walk into orange there for my workout. Who's there? Sarah is there, Jesus. F my life. Last time I saw her was when my mom picked me up at her apartment 13 years ago, she tells me she just joined an absolutely loves it. Wow. I've now seen her orange through at least twice a week for the last three weeks, no big deal. We say hi and bye. Then go about our days. I even told my wife, all of it, and we both laughed about it. Like I said, small world. So you and your wife are totally cool talking about everybody that you've been with in your past. You know, almost seems like you enjoy talking about it, which again, not judging, it's just not the norm. Okay, then one morning this past weekend on Instagram when I get a notification that I have a direct message from Sarah, so bizarre. She says that she would love to get together some time for a double date, maybe drinks or dinner and meet the wife and also throws in. I haven't mentioned our past on my husband. Yeah, like most normal fucking people. But I actually think that you guys really get along. But I think mentioning our past would definitely sabotage any potential hanging out. So awkward, he says. But it got me thinking, should it never happen? I'm going to be seeing her regular the workouts. You know each other since we were kids, we're in the trendy part of downtown where everything is at. She and her husband could be cool. They know absolutely no one in my wife and I don't have that many couples Friends. We relocated to the city right before COVID, which is made it even harder to make friends. Plus, is it even possible to make new friends at the age of 35? I'm not sure it is hard. It is hard to do. It depends on what your. What's your application requirement, right? What percentage of friends are you letting into? Mine's low. Let's say we hang. Is it going to be weird God is a long fucking email? That is. I was going. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think the I thought this was going to be a little weirder. And it isn't. He just says this. Let's say we hang. Is it going to be weird at dinner the three of the four people know that I've been with his wife? I'll clean it up. What if we hit it off and become friends? Will the secret come out at some point and make all of this not even worth trying? What if he and I become boys? Maybe hit the golf course and while waiting on the 13th T box, I think to myself, this guy still has no idea about the time I slept with his wife in a hot tub. We were 23. I can be an adult about it. There's zero interest in my aunt. She still looks all right, though. She has a family now and I would never cheat on my wife. What are my options? I don't know, man. There's two parts of this. One. Is, I get the friend part of it, but pick somebody else. Pick somebody else. You can spend the whole time, like you're not supposed to ever tell them the wife says you can't ever tell them. So you're never going to tell them, they think how you would feel. Now, clearly, you don't care. You don't seem to care about any of this stuff. There are couples that you never care about each other's past. I've never been in one of those things. I don't know what that says about me. I don't know what it says about you. I guess there would be more critic criticism of me for being like, yeah, I just don't want to fucking hear about it. I don't want to hear about it. But the worst part of this whole thing is that she's like, hey, you should hang out with my husband, but also never tell him about our past. If my wife were ever like, hey, you're going to meet Frank. He's a great hang. And then I somehow found out like 5 years later, if she introduced me this guy's like, oh, because I slept with him that whole time. Like if the wife is admitting that her current husband wouldn't want to hear about the past, I think it screwed up that she's then trying to make sure you guys are friends. So unless this is all some sort of weird wap swift deal where this is how it all starts. I don't know. But I say no to all of it. Yeah, if I was if I was that guy, I would do exactly what I've been doing to my friend, Austin, down at the frolic room and say, yeah, we'll totally do it and then never do it. That's what I would do. I would just, I would say, yeah, no, we should totally get together and then just one reason or not another just don't ever follow through. Yeah, I just don't think you need Friends bat badly. I know that you got some things going on, and there's just no way, rod, you put it, if you end up golfing with this guy to become friends with him. You're always gonna have this thing in the back of your head and some people could live with that and maybe he can. I know I couldn't and it would just bother me and I think I would always kind of hold back as a friend. So I don't even think it would be ever be like a really meaningful great friendship anyway. And it doesn't seem like there's like a swingers vibe here that maybe from her perspective it doesn't seem like from the email it's respect if there is. He's just kind of interested in what he should do. But I just don't think it's worth it at all. I don't think that friendship is worth probably. The juice is worth the squeeze I should say. Yeah, but do you say no or you say yeah, and then never follow through? I think you do what you did and just kind of say, yeah, sure, and then just never follow up. Yeah, don't actually make the blend, so don't say you'll be at the front room 8 o'clock, but also just say, yeah, we'll totally do that this month's a little crazy. Just Doug, she'll get the idea and stop bothering me about it soon enough,.

"Neither of them come off as harsh when you watch it as it sounded when the whole like, oh. Interesting. But yeah, continue. I get why Josh wolf would be a little perturbed by that because you're basically questioning you're questioning the commitment of those players and the coaching staff. And I think they would look around and say, we don't have any. We're just not getting the results right now, but Austin down at the bottom. Since he looked like they have a great grip on the spoon and that's probably how it's gonna end for the third year in a row. Any thoughts you got since he fans let us know Chris albright says they want to hire a coach by what the holidays? So that would be nice. He says, he wants to play, he wants to play a diamond. Yeah. So that's interesting. I think starts like November 27th. So if that's the one he's looking at, he's on the clock. He's got it. Yeah, hey, come on, we gotta get this thing done. He's looking at. Yeah, get pat on the phone. I think it's weird. Sometimes the way we talk about formations as if it tells you everything. One, you're playing in that formation, a third of the time of the game. But my understanding is the point was I want us to look like Philly, right? I want us to press. That's what I thought too. And that's I think the purpose and it makes sense to be that specific before you hired a coach before you put together a roster before you know what it all looks like. Seems odd to me, but probably won't matter. I mean, if they win one home game in the first month of next season, he'll be a hero. Into the mountain we go four one two zero 6 zero Los extra time at MS soccer dot com. Make sure you check out the site for all the previews ahead of this weekend week 32 is right here. I mean, there's no rest for the weary. So get ready for that. What have we got in here? From Milwaukee wanted to step in and support us against the Bruce arena anti supporter shield. But now Bruce reverse the narrative. Which is how you that's how you're smart. But what Matthew says is New England are 9 points up with 5 matches left to play for Seattle. If MLS was one of the top 5 leagues in Europe that we talk about all the time New England would be a solid bet to finish as league champs. That to me is a significant of the supporter shield, a postseason tournament should not diminish its significant. If anything, one could argue MLS custom is diminished by the number of teams that qualify for the postseason, but I digress both achievements are celebration worthy and we see that, right? Like when man city wins the title with a lot of time left, they get like the guard of honor, every game they go into from there on out and all that stuff we don't always treat the supporters shield winner that way and maybe we should start making teens line up and clap for their opponent? Yes, we should. This is actually amazing idea. We absolutely should do this. So let's see who might have to sign up. I have to clap. So Orlando won't have to clap, Orlando lucked out..

"Which the nba era does. But here's the thing about this. This is probably a pretty expensive deal for major league baseball. Which means the money has to get distributed to all thirty teams which means the cincinnati reds have just gotten at least some money from this deal could be a few thousand dollars. I'm guessing it's a figure that includes seven digits. They have to split this money evenly among the thirty teams so when they tell you at the end of the this does not just apply to the reds when they tell you at the end of our dude bro. We just empty pockets. We got no dough. We have no money. Come on. What are you dude. Come out we. You could say well. Yeah what was the size of the check you got from fda dot us and why perhaps was that money not reinvested into the team. You want me to read the press release again quarter to five. This is espn fifteen thirty. Cincinnati sports station. Twelve away from five mike and matt adenjer on. Espn fifteen thirty. What's up mike. i'm well how about yourself. I'm better when i hear you. Use words like apoplectic apoplectic. I don't even know how to spell that ever. Ever let one. Mike tyson apoplectic. If i'm in the room. I'm scared if lances apoplectic and on the remind that cared i was listening to lance mcalister Driving home last night. I was legitimately worried about him. I mean i was i almo. I don't text and drive as a rule. But i thought when i get home i might have to tax the studio and just make sure. He's okay he was by definition apapa. His voice went up octaves. That i didn't know existed for like really serious. Probably blood pressure violate. He's gonna pacemaker. He's gone through some things physically. I really generally worried about him. I forgot about that. You're right that's that's lance at sports with. I know we love it but it ain't all that okay. Your new name. P. t. barnum. Because because i'm the circus ringleader. The huckster narrow. Pt mo- barnum doing a roller coaster. Common works larry. And then you got the guest. The glove i mean this is getting into some seriously innovative marketing techniques. Impressive having a guy call in from moving roller coaster to be innovative. But i will find it entertaining nonetheless. Nobody else is. That's because everybody else does real talk shows. No that's why that's why we love you because you're a fun dude. Then why thanks. I got like thirty seconds here. Mike what else okay. That's limiting okay. Team defense reds. You're talking about that tomorrow. okay. I got something going with. This wonder wanted warrior project. Okay and. I wanna talk to you about getting involved. Not in a major way but possibly hosting an event here in cincinnati in august right And i've got some jerseys. I mean what will pay whatever. If if it's the wounded warrior project i will be there no payment necessary to get a hold of me. Okay okay. I got a read jersey. I got signed bill bradley jersey. I got assigned earl the pearl monroe zero rob. Somebody wanted me. How does he get all that stuff. My dad's roommate in college was read. Whole smith talked with reynolds coach of the next one. The title and seventy and seventy just dropping this on me. Now bring up around here you go. Nobody cares nobody. i think. Besides you and a handful of others nobody wants to hear us talk about it. But i mean now now you've piqued my interest in a way that i i wish i had more time to express but yes just tell me when the event is and will figure out a way to make it happen. Okay okay the more nine minutes away from five o'clock innovative. I saw a tweet today. That really made me think about the reds bullpen issues and then that the reds bullpens shoes are just sort of the tip of the iceberg. Plus i will continue to try to help major league baseball with this whole making the dudes take their pants off to see if they're loading up the ball with stuff because that happened last night. So we've we've got to spend some some time on that and jeff car from moving roller coaster talking about the reds a busy hour still in front of us of some very hard hitting sports. Talk radio vacation starts on friday at six taryn but first brennan jones on baseball ready for some football. We are this. Is dave lapham. You're listening to the home of the bengals. Espn fifteen hundred. Here we go. It's four minutes after five o'clock this is. Espn fifteen thirty good afternoon. Thanks so much for listening. We're going to talk with jeff about the reds while he's writing the orion roller coaster which he says is the biggest and fastest roller coaster in the park so that is coming up in anywhere according to estimates five to eight minutes. Plus we've made fun of what major league baseball is doing now with a pictures being inspected by umpires and the joe girardi max scherzer situation. Last night where girardi was using gamesmanship sending the empires out to check scherzer and he was disrobing with sergio romo last night of the as he was taking his pants off with empire. It's weird romance is low-hanging fruit. He might be the lowest hanging fruit in all of sports. But i think there's a bigger issue here. And i want to address it which we will coming up in just about fifty minutes. Plus we have another pair of reds tickets for saturday's game against the braves which means another game of guests the glove all that and so much more between now and six o'clock we have cincinnati soccer tonight as They take on the chicago by the way. Can i just say this quickly about fc. Cincinnati they do not need a nickname. I kind of like fc. Cincinnati is a name which they would win games which we will talk about a little bit later on. Look every hour for weeks. We've spent time discussing the reds and the bullpen issues. And what nick crawl has to do to get the bullpen fixed. And i'm tired of talking about the trade deadline. The rights have thirty one games between now and the trade deadline. The trade deadline. We just we started doing this. And what about at the trade deadline. What are they going to do with the devil. You are allowed to make trades weeks months even before the trade deadline that is permitted.

Governor Greg Abbott is praising the state's role out of Corona virus vaccines. A lot of cities and counties have been frustrated by and they may disagree. But Abbott, for the most part, feels the role is going pretty well, he says. A lot of the supply issues local health departments are faced with are really coming from higher up. There's only one limitation that we have at this moment in time and inadequate supply the vaccinations and that supply vaccinations comes on Lee from the federal government. But overall, he says, 71% of all doses from the feds have been administered, including 81. And the first doses 67% of seven dose of second doses.
