"Here it comes. A sling of fly ball to deep right field. Headed back towards the high wall. It'll go off the bottom of the wall here back to the field of play. Flying around third is McKenna. He is home and adley Richmond. Captain America has tied up this game at 6 in the bottom of the night. Taylor you like that? Captain America that nickname? I prefer adley clutch man, but that's just me. No, I like Captain America better. Sara, you have the tiebreaker. I mean, obviously Captain America. Yeah, I'm a big fan. Big fan. Clutch. I don't get that one. Anyway, that hits set this up. Bases loaded nobody out. When he run 90 feet away, morning Mateo. And he hits him. And that's your ball game on the 4th of July. Austin Hayes comes down to score and that's it. The Orioles win at 7 to 6. The other day, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed longtime backup catcher Austin Barnes to a two year $7 million contract extension that announcement coming from the Dodgers on Sunday. On Sunday evening, Jacob de Grom made his first minor league rehabilitation appearance. He faced 6 batters, he struck out by, he was throwing a 100 mph, his quote to MLB dot com. I felt like I had control of everything. The main thing was trying to locate the fastball and pitch off of that. Everything felt good. And that's good that de Grom's coming back, Max Scherzer, pitching against the reds tonight, because the braves are rolling. Last night, dance B put Swanson got another big hit. There.

"We'll get another chance who knows. In the moment, can you reconcile all of that? Yeah. There was no part of you that wanted to fight to stay in or anything said. Yeah, I mean, I would have loved to have stayed, but bigger things, man. Bigger things. Bigger things as in a full long season and staying healthy for it and that's exactly what Dave Roberts was pointing on afterwards. Barnesy, by the way, is Austin Barnes, the catcher who, for whom a perfect game is just as important. You're written in lore as well. And we'll get to Austin Barnes in a second. But here's what Dave Roberts had to say. You know, I think there's a point where you just got to decide I got to decide to what end. And I'm as big a fan as anyone and a fan of Clayton and to see a battery of him and Austin throw a perfect game or a no hitter. I'm all in. But again, to what end or to what cost. And so every decision I make is for the best interests of the player. Their health and the ball club. Because there's a lot of people that are cheering for the Dodgers, not only just for today and claim that though no hitter, but for the Dodgers to win the World Series. It's not a Dodger fan that I know of that I've spoken to in the last 24 hours that want to Clayton Kershaw taking out of that game. Period and the story full stop. Dave Roberts knows that too. Dave Roberts knows that too. Here's the issue. Written. March. Is baseball is become a game, not of inches, but of metrics. Inch is a metric, but of metrics. That's the issue. The heart, the soul. Has been sucked out. By metrics. And to the point where we fans can't tell the difference between a decision made for metrics or decision made for health reasons or decision made on gut and feel without all of that. We can't tell the difference anymore because we're just assuming it's all about metrics because we're seeing broadcasts. That was an exit velocity of such and such a thing on a ground ball that was a quick one hop to the shortstop. We're still talking about exit velocity. We're talking about shifts and where they are and we're talking about guys who are openers not starters and we're talking about guys who come out of the pen and throw a hundred miles an hour and we're going to take guys out at four and two third innings who started a game because they're tiring because they've got 80 pitches and it got 70 pitches. Pitch count this pitch count that I yearned for the days when we had pictures is it screw the pitch count? Screw. Those days are gone though. They're over. They are long gone. This is what really hurt me yesterday. Out of all of it. Okay? Austin Barnes, this was his quote. When asked what Kershaw said to him after Kershaw hugged him in the dugout. To tell him that the perfect game was over. Barnes said that Kershaw said, sorry, quote, I knew it was the right call and stuff like that, but I thought we could get it done. That's baseball. That's baseball. Because the baseball that I grew up loving, the baseball I grew up and fell in love with and still aren't trying to instill in my children. Are the baseball of a league of their own. The line that Tom Hanks said in a league of their own to the Geena Davis character Dottie, who is leaving on the eve of the World Series to go back home with her husband, to saying that the game just got too hard, he said to her, this is a famous quote from the movie. It's supposed to be hard if it wasn't hard everyone would do it. The heart is what makes it great. And yesterday, the hard was in front of the Dodgers right in front of their manager and right in front of their pitcher. And they would tell you the hard thing was to take them out. The hard thing is to go for it. That's the hard thing. And they took the less hard way out because it's a long season. That's what makes baseball great. It is a long season. And what baseball needs is Clayton Kershaw to pitch a perfect freaking game. That's what baseball needs. Because we're still stuck too much on all the other crap that makes it feel like what we're watching is somebody's chess game with a slide rule. Not what makes it great. Maybe unfair to say it, but that's the way I'm feeling about baseball and that's what upset me about yesterday. The latest instance. Numbers pitch count, whatever. I mean, Kershaw said that his slider was beginning to fail. Okay. Let's see it out there on the mound in the 8th brother. Let's go. That's what makes it great is that it's hard and the hard decision taken them out, sure, very hard, would have been harder to actually try for it. Taking them out was the easy move. Let's go. Easy move. And I'm not going to be as eloquent as you are. It just sucks. It just sucks as a fan of baseball and a fan of cool, amazing once in a lifetime moment. It killed me to hear Austin Barnes say that's baseball. Is it really? Is it? Is it because it never used to be that way in my mind? No. Is it? Now it's baseball pitch counts and degrees and temperature and this and that, how do you feel? I feel good. Go for it. Got feel where is that anymore, man? It's still there. It's still there, I know it, I believe it. It's just not at the forefront anymore. Enough for us to believe it.

He said we're the colorado rockies won't gotta give for that one we scout draft and develop so he's saying they're not the dodgers because they scout draft and develop. Dan zimba tweeted out. I mean this is a perfect tweet for this because we're all thinking it as that came out because if i get that a lot of you hate the dodgers but danza. Barsky of espn tweeted this out. Could it get any more obvious as to why you should have hired somebody from the outside looking in because you're so close to it covered my mouth when i did that right. They're covering my eyes. You're so damn close to the rockies organization that you don't see how other organizations are doing it even though fans like us realize that that's not how the dodgers are necessarily built. They have a great farm system. They have grown excellent players. They pick up some nice fancy pieces along the way. But that's because they created the base. Not unlike what you saw with the golden state warriors. You built that up to the draft steph curry klay thompson draymond green and you picked up some shiny objects through throughout the process. "He read back at 98 Miles an hour and blew it by the Dodgers Get only one run out of it. They have now had one hit in seven at bats with runners in scoring position for the day and what the base is being left loaded second time that that had happened, and they had left eight runners on base in the first five innings. Which, when you consider that they would not even get another runner on base until the ninth inning. That was the lament for the Dodgers in this game and devil having been the under the baptism under fire in that fifth inning. Went back out in the sixth inning, a whole new guy, and he retired the Dodgers in order with including a strikeout, So a great day of showing what you can do. Under the brightest lights on the biggest stage for Camilo Devil just brought back up from the minor leagues today, then for the Giants it going into the late innings. That was the one plan that Gabe Kapler had been hoping for, he said he looked at the bullpen from the back running forward if they could have a lead or a tight ball game, and he was good with all the guys he had set to go rested. For the late innings, and it was Tony Watson for the seventh, three up three down months. He bets and Turner and then Tyler Rogers three, up three down in the eighth inning. And finally Jake McGee, with the scores still 62 in the ninth inning, But Austin Barnes, pinch hitting for Cody Bellinger reached on the throwing error by Chris Bryant, who made a great stab of a terrible hop. But then his throw pulled belt off the bag at first, so the Dodgers had a base runner and the 41 year old. On his way to the Hall of Fame. Albert Pujols came up and he got a pitch to hit McGee with the high set throws. There's a.

So Barnes Here in the 9th 62, Giants lead ID catcher at 2 27 6 homers 20 knocked in the pitch and swinging a foul tip into the midst of Casali for the Giants. Tomorrow. We'll head off. Tonight, they'll head off to Colorado. They will take on the Rockies tomorrow. The pitch. And that's in for a strike, and it's nothing to the Dodgers, meanwhile, will head to ST Louis. And play the Cardinals. The Cardinals wildcard hopes still alive. Oh, You're too Outside. If I made you pick it. Obviously, the first wild card is going to be the loser, The West. Who do you think the second wild card is going to be? Padres Cardinals Reds Mike Magee is ready and a pitch swing and a broken back ground ball to third. It hopped up on Bryant spins around the throat pulls belt off the base, and Barnes is safe at first that took a weird hop and It's spun Kris Bryant around it's going to be any five. Yeah. I'm not sure what happened there. What? Check up at the end? Yeah, it did. And then with that it made with the ball checking up that way it made Chris Stutter step. And then his throw was offline and belt came off the base. Barnes is safe, and now Pujols will come up to him. Looking at the replay. It was almost like Kris Bryant in real time realized how he dodged a bullet because I think checked up and almost hit him in the head. It almost him in the face. It's true. So binds it first hears wolves the pitch too high, Jake McGee. Try and close this one out. 62 giants were in the top of the ninth. But the Giants win this one will have won the season series 98. He doesn't have the bat speed, quick twitch everything he had when he was younger. Nobody does. But man, his wisdom and ability to feel things out and come through with a big at bat was on display right there. He knew he got it, too, And he is really loved in that clubhouse pitch that is outside for ball one. Those strikes Getting interesting down. Nobody on nobody out. It's a two run game and the pitch that stout stairs and now two and Oh, so Jake McGee, having some issues here, he's got 29 saves it to 70 E R. A But McGee like their entire pitching staff. He's not a big strikeout guy. It's kind of anti what most bullpens are. Here's a swing and a pop up right side Estrada onto the edge of the outfield grass and makes the catch singing back to rules for a second one of the stories that I love. For their ring ceremony. Every Dodger was asked to give a favorite player And when they came out to receive their ring, there would be a message on the video board from their favorite player from Ichiro Suzuki or David Ortiz. Well for Will Smith, his favorite player. And the guy who got the message from was Albert Pujols. And now he's his teammate. They can't beat l. A. Here at Oracle Pike, the lead is down to 21 out. I'll feel backed up. Here's Max Muncy pitch That's a strike. Thanks Ball at 93 from the lefty Jake McGee, 35 years old. The South Paul fires just off the outside edge, and now it's one and one who they got to answer the question you asked me about who gets the The other wildcard the Padres Reds. I think maybe a few the Cardinals or Phillies in there, I'm going to say that the Padres 11 roll through the left side hall base hit and it's going to bring the tying run to the plate. Mm hmm. So Muncie just rolled one through that left side. Yeah, like the Dodgers. And not just the Dodgers. But the Giants as well. They do not go into the night quietly late in the ballgame, and you know each manager very well aware of the team on the other side. Lot of respect. They know it's not over until they get that final out The nine kick cruise the finish line the exit below on that roller 77.8 just rolling and role of Just finding a way through that hole on the left side. You don't get a break. McGee's dealing with bets. Turner's in the on deck circle. Segers in back of him. Smith is in back of him. I mean, every one of them easily with one swing ties this game off one on Inside. It. Backs backs away. And when you think about where the order was when McGee came in, it wasn't supposed to be this way. You had 89 pinch hitter pinch hitter Then turn it over. You should have turned it over with at least Bill one out, maybe two outs. To the top of the order, agreed. The two old on the outside corner for his strike. Just did paint the outside edge. "I don't know it's it's not as good as maybe the last few years but maybe not terrible. We've talked up this series. We've talked up the rest of the season. I'm curious what each of you is looking forward to the most as we enter the stretch run closure. Honestly it's it's going to be a wacky. Twenty was the twenty eight games remaining in the season But yeah it's already. It has been just such a gift such a treat to have the giants dodgers play so well if you had asked me before the season you know if in september the giants and dodgers are jockeying for first place. I would've said wow. That's neat i guess. The dodgers really fell hard. I guess something must have happened. Where the dodgers were ninety one team. They had just a string after. String a bad logging. Wow the giants rebelled a sneak in that open window. It's not like that that the dodgers are awesome. You look at the lineup. And it's would they have maxed shire's now what like. It's they're so good and the giants. The idea that they can compete with. That version of dodger. Seem is just mesmerizing. It's it's just amazing to think that this giants team can even compete with that. So it's already been such a gift in j- i'm looking forward to figuring out how this shakes out. I'm looking forward to you. Know maybe no more sixteen any games. That game was very very odd. It was just so weird like and it seemed like both managers are trying to take years off of their fans. Lives most of that game. But no i think looking forward to hitting to see what this full-strength dodgers lineup can do over the next. Potentially two months that would be something I'm also perversely rooting for the dodgers. Keep using new pitchers because they're already up at that. Thirty eight pitchers used twenty five different pitchers in august loan. Which i think they've only reached that in like maybe six or seven full seasons before so. I'm rooting for them. To just keep calling up. Different pitchers danny fiasco gets healthy. Because he can add to that total They've already set a franchise record. I want them to blow past it. And i think they can get to fifty. So that's what. I'm rooting for for go. Wanted to ask if you have any. Nl mvp thoughts. Because i'm just looking at the fan graphs. Position player were leaderboard for the national league right now. Eight of the top fourteen are an l. west players and six of those eight are on either the dodgers or the giant. So you have your harper's and you have your pieces and your soto's etcetera but you also have trae turner and you have muncie and you have will smith and you have buster posey and you have brandon crawford and you have chris taylor so i don't know if there's some vote splitting that will happen here or if votes putting is even a real thing but would any of you make sort of unbiased objective cases for any of the players on the teams that you cover grant you wanna go first Y- the it sets a very one. I am not going to be unbiased. But i don't think that buster posey has the at bats. The the games played brandon. Crawford tailed off a little bit I will just say that. A mac muncie has been incredible that be every time i turn on the tv. Will smith is doing something in. That guy drives me nuts. How does anyone get him out. He he to me is as important if not more important than muncie than than anyone else who might be on the dodgers i will. Smith would have a real strong consideration. If i had a vote. I mean bryce harper has been magical. There are so many good options. But when i look at that leaderboard i look it. Will smith ago. Yeah and i could give him some bonus points for being a catcher on top of that. Yeah i think everything everyone sort of bunch together right now to a point where it's almost. Whoever has the best september elise for like a contending team is is probably gonna win. But like if i had guess now i would probably pick mex- muncie for the dodgers. You're absolutely right on wilson. If he's been the dodgers best hitter. I think since the all star break and playing a more often than he was they were doing a pretty good job of making sure he gets rest. Because i think we've seen especially when the dodgers had yells money grand doll and he just play so often wear down at the end of the year. And then austin barnes would end up starting in the playoffs So i think they're more comfortable with will smith playing more. But if he continues it he could definitely make a case. Trae turner's right there if he keeps doing like slides that i can't figure out physically how he doesn't like maybe that stems Tied but if i had to pick one i would probably go muncie. Just given what he's done like all your ira. Should i ask this. I don't know this is a ridiculous question. But i should get into the nfl spirit of the so celebrating. The single series guys seventy any predictions for for this weekend which is probably the first time a vest anyone for predictions about a three game regular season series but just based on how these teams are playing in currently constructed in the pitching matchups and gave kappler saying that. He doesn't anticipate having a rotation per se which doesn't seem like the greatest thing for a manager to say about a series any expectations. Who's going to win in tale of the tape in and win the season series that emerge from this weekend with the division lead. At least two of the games will be one run game in the eighth inning. So that's like a given i do. I do think the dodgers are gonna win two out of three and just just to get this on record. They're gonna outscore the giants seventeen twelve. Can you get more specific than that. Grit oh man. I am talking to the two jerks. Who made me like put a finger on a win. Total for the twenty twenty one giants. Not just this year but last year where you made me predict the whole pandemic and then this year you made me see like oh i don't know eighty two wins or something like that. So now i'm not going to predict three games series kidding me like there will be pain in misery and fun and you'll laugh. You'll cry better than cats. I don't know it's it's it's going to be as goofy as as any three-game series of ever anticipated yet. It's going to be a lot of fun and last thing just getting ahead of ourselves here. What's the biggest i guess. Question heading into the season for each of these teams like biggest free agent. I mean against the giants already extended crawford right but they've got kris. Bryant is a free agent for instance or the dodgers have cory seager. Are those like the defining questions of like. What do we do this winter. And if so how do you see that play out. I guess eric could go. I if you have one. Yeah so i don't think it's a foregone conclusion that seger's gonna sign elsewhere..

"Hopefully whatever it was will be topped sometime this weekend but does any game. We've already seen just because the season series has been so much fun. What stands out in either of your minds. Talk men pools yet. That was a that was like a fun series. Just generally but the dodgers almost one on a walk off and mike tuchman climbed the wall I don't know how far you got over the wall but that was a home. Run in it then. It wasn't and then the giants won in extra innings. But that was like an amazing moment. Just like literally made you yell while watching it from either side really so it was it was it was good. It was the moment where albert poo hits the ball. And you see the plan of vol you see how he drops the bat. You are primed to experience this. Well okay get them tomorrow and so to go from that because it was already a gut punch before that the giants entered that inning. Was i think yeah may twenty eight in so they had entered the ninth inning with a lead and a three run lead a huge lead. They should have just walked through that ninth-inning there were already reeling. From austin. barnes tying the game up and then it was like all right. Well now. it's over that's it and to go from that and then immediately going into the extra innings in building another big lead. That was the signature a i. Don't i mean look. I know we should be hyping up this series if anything is half as exciting as that game will be just ridiculous game so the sad news for all of us. Is that one of these teams. Have to emerge. Victorious cannot remain tied at the top of the standings forever and one of them will have to play in a wildcard game and so putting a less fun question to both of you which is of the teams that are sort of reasonably in the field. Which team do you think your your team. That's such a mean way for me to put this to be raiders. You right objectively. But which the teams that are sort of reasonably in the field. Would you feel the most and the least confident facing in a one game plan grant would start with you. I do so okay. We're going to let's see. I'm assuming the brewers obviously they're going to be in so we're talking one of the east teams the reds the cardinals. I really think that the cardinals they're one of the teams the teams that have won more games against the giants this year. The giants of losing record against the cardinals and it feels like the cardinals are due to hit the giants in the nose. And the giants had the travis ishikawa homerun They had marcus guterro in the rain. Even before that. You had a kenny. Lofton and david bell in two thousand two before that. The cardinals were jerks. The cardinals were the ones knocking him. Nineteen eighty-seven and so there's been this weird push in pull of with that in. I'm a narrative guy. Because i don't really understand how the world actually works so i have to scrub a narrative to invent it and it just feels like this would be the year that the cardinals punched the giants in the nose. I think for the dodgers it's I'm torn on this. I mean i agree. I'm assuming the brewers are comfortably in the division series at this point so in a wildcard game the dodgers can beat the padres. Maybe it's either the reds offense or like facing the phillies with zack wheeler. Basically i think the phillies is probably the toughest just. Because you might have to face wheeler but it's yeah it's a tough one just the whole the one game playoff is just gonna be screwy and it's about who can set up. What like i i would imagine given where the dodgers and giants are at whichever team is is headed for. The wild card can probably set up their rotation the way they want Heading into that or at least more than the second wildcard team. So maybe that's an advantage plus hosting it. But i'm not looking forward to any sort of one game playoff at all. Yeah i was gonna ask whether you think either of these teams is like particularly well setup for october or particularly ill equipped for october assuming they get by the wildcard game in into an actual playoff round. And you know we could debate what it actually means to be built for october. Or whether there is such thing but i guess typically you're talking about like top of your rotation in the back of your bullpen and maybe there's some extra value to contact hitting lineup. I'll speaking equal so. I wonder whether you think that Either of these teams is sort of positioned to make a deep run with the obvious caveat. That any team any time could make a deep run. Maybe the giants showed us multiple times last decade after watching. The brewers like that to me is the classic template of a team that i don't wanna face them. They have the three headed monster at the top of the rotation they have the bullpen depth. You have just just. They seem like the team that not only can do that. Oh here's andrew miller for three innings figured out suckers but they also have like the we've got lots of come we've got caned we've got bombarded like that they can throw both those at you and i get that. They're not a powerhouse as far as their lineup. They're still pretty darn good. So the brewers. I think are the template. I don't think the giants are that. They're more of a depth. More of a sneaky. Kind of thing. I i don't know if they're especially built for the postseason i like the way. The dodgers are set up sort of like their bueller. Sherzer leading the rotation is is fine. I mean it's great but like they. They still need clayton kershaw back. I think he's Where is he now. he's he's probably like just to winning simulated game coming this weekend so he might not even be like sort of ready to be a starter until like the last two weeks of the season and that's a lot to ask to be all of a sudden ready. Maybe maybe he can be. I don't know he's he hasn't really pitched much since july third. So that's an issue. But they do have. Julio who's also twenty two twenty three innings over his career high for any season already. And i think it would be. It would behoove them to have urea..

"Oldest brother was by far the meanest and the best but he was a nose tackle and god saw fit to make him five foot nine so he wasn't widely recruited went to cal. State northridge the middle brother. We call the alanis. He's six four ran ran a four six. Forty it was between there were three top recruits in one thousand nine hundred seven. There was a guy named toine van lee who went to stanford some guy from oceanside by the name of junior ceo. I think i've heard of him. And my brother. Andre andre four biggest recruits in the state of california nineteen eighty-seven he chose to go to ucla. Okay and how did andre do at. Ucla told him he should have went to washington. He didn't want some of me. You know i mean. La he's in l. a. Guy became a businessman so yeah he played Played well he was one of their best players. So i didn't want to go to ucla. So i chose washington to close at ucla too close to home washington just far enough. It was perfect. All right hold on one. Quick second in the middle of a football live we would have to take a commercial break here on the nfl network if we were on the nfl network and it looks like the dodgers have austin barnes baby k. Austin bar the two run home run. And the dodgers had taken a to nothing lead over the padres. Top of the third inning broom updated keeping up. So your brother demarco. This is an interesting part of the two brothers. Both played football. The second brother was a big star. One of the most highly recruited guys in the state of california goes to ucla. Does he have a chance to play in the nfl. Yes but i think the business bug hit him. He became an agent. sports agent. really still one. Today no retired. He retired when i retired. Oh wow interesting. Was he your agent. Oh yeah i had no choice. He's my older brother was know. Beat you up. I figure. I can trust him. Okay so now here goes so two brothers. Both graduated high school. And now you're a junior in high school and tell me what is going on in your early career again. This is junior in high school kind of stuff here Junior in high school brother just left so all the attention kind of fell to me. It was rough man trying to follow in his footsteps. My brothers were good players and they were also team captains. Young brother was the little brother. So you know. I wasn't used to being the captain type so it was hard that junior year but i was good. We were good. We didn't go to the playoffs. I handle it my senior year. I kind of grew into that leadership role and we also won a championship. So i got to bring one of those home home to mom championship. We're talking state title. Are we talking like a seattle. It's it's california football california high school. Football is so many teams so we want our section got it so we played in the oakland coliseum Of all places. So that was the big deal. Get to the calcium so we made it. We won. So i brought that home. I felt like i was part of the group. Then and what position in high school were you or positions. I was a defensive tackle and an offensive guard and the funny thing is i was a better guard than i was a defensive tackle. Okay so then. Tell me this again. This is a football life demarco far. So how do you decide on washington see. I didn't wanna go to cal. It was too close to home. Okay like ten minutes away. And i have an overbearing mother. She'd be my dorm room every single day so ucla and this is where ucla went wrong. I didn't wanna go anyway but. Ucla assumed i was coming to them so when the recruiter walked around he had this. You know a big chess like oh yeah. We got your brother. We got your uncles. Your cousins you're going to be bruin to nope. I don't wanna go there The only guy i like. This is a funny story cat. Joe paterno came through the house. terry donahue barry switzer. All these coaches all. These legends came to my house looking for my brother. And i used to sit behind the living room and just listen to all of them like fifteen sixteen years old. The only one. I liked out of the entire group was don james from washington. I made my mind up at sixteen if he comes back for me. I'm going with him and i did. So you get to washington and obviously we've talked a little bit as a week has gone on about winning a national championship in nineteen ninety-one and that was a controversial team not of you but their quarterback situation for people that don't remember go do some research on there too. You are sounded for a game. Tell me for what worked one day too long in the summer job so i had to get suspended for one game. I think it was against like san jose state senior year. Something like that. Okay so but tell me when you get to washington. How long does it take you to become an impact player. Oh man it was immediate. I mean once. I got used to the strength of these college players. It was immediate. You know So i that first year go right into fall camp and that's hard because you're going right from high school right to college roster and on the field with these fifth year seniors and they're just grown man and your high school kids so that was rough but by that spring man i mean. That's you're ready. I can compete with these guys. I got a little weight room time in. You know put muscle on my on my upper body so by spraying. I was ready to compete. But here's the problem to get on the field. I had to go through a guy. By the name of steve edmund. Who want to be in the first pick in the draft at defensive tackle. Yes so i was his understudy until he left so when he finally went pro then i became a starter. Okay so you play for a national championship team but check me on this you to get into the nfl. You're an undrafted free agent. Yes so so. that's you know. Look for anybody who makes it in the nfl and has a real career in the nfl. Like you did to be undrafted. That's a really really big deal. A i'll start off with. Why were you not drafted. Why do you think six feet tall case. So everybody well aaron. Donald today changed that whole well. Six feet two hundred sixty eight pounds and that year the the first pick in the draft was a guy named big daddy wilkinson remember and this right after the green bay packers had won the super bowl with gilbert brown. As one of their defensive tackles so big was in As far as dt's so they weren't looking for smaller guys so once that passed..

"He's gonna come back tomorrow but the doctor told him stay off of it today but he got a really bad spider bite on his foot. I've never. I've never had that type of reaction to about i've had like bad. Hives breakout and stuff. But i've never had if you read like a black widow. Buy yes well. I don't know if there's a black widow or a brown recluse spider. But i had a bite right. I have a bite right in the middle of my forehead. And if you ever are close to me you'll see. I've got like a little permanent divet where the spider actually bit me on my face. It was a terrible experience. Terrible experience but but hor- hey we hope we'll be back tomorrow. You realize how exciting it's going to be the next week. This is like well. Thursday is going to be a lot of. Nba moves between now and thursday because draft. It's thursday night we're gonna get we're gonna get into a little bit today. But the was the mlb. Trade deadline is friday at one and then the nba free agency opens monday. Three and those padres are making a lot of noise. They are they they already traded for. Adam frazier who has more hits than anybody. In major league baseball that year he's gonna slide right into second base. Yup and there were rumors. Last night turned out to be insubstantiated but rumors last night that they were very close to getting max scherzer and if they do that if they come at you with sure zor and snell and darvish in the playoffs with frazier now hidden in the top half of that lineup along with two ts. I mean look out. Yeah i mean. They're two and a half games behind us now. So they're in it. We're two games behind san francisco. And did you see what happened saturday. I i actually go whole game called this on friday. I said watch kenley jansen. We'll get his twenty-third save on saturday. And not exactly how you predicted. The dodgers actually got away with some stuff this weekend. They scored one run in. That game was a home. Run by the backup catcher austin barnes and they won one to nothing kinley still gives me makes me nervous when they brought him in on saturday. It made me nervous especially in a one. Nothing game but you recognize that he is going to be the guy like they will they. I tweeted this friday. They'll go as far during the during your rights. Run as kenley. Jansen can carry a. That's asinine no that's not asinine. That's so how did they win the world three. They didn't even pitch kinley in the playoffs. Yeah can kinley. Kenley had troubles last year in class. But that doesn't mean to say go is but he had a monolithic convention at any minute but he was the reliever of the month in september he had a tremendous september and this year regular season. Wise they're going to need a rock solid bullpen down the stretch. And if you if you all of a sudden removed kenley from the from the closer spot and he you're you lose them. Essentially as as a setup guys a meaningful high leverage guy you've got blake tried and closing and the nobody really to set up now that has they've got a chance to resolve that this week at the trade deadline and i'm sure they're going to be at least a couple of relievers that her choir during this stretch. But if not starters yeah by the way it's not coming back because he's been throwing okay he's been so now would help. He was done grad. I'll looked really good on only finally grads all got six up and six down on on saturday. Yes so he looked good against have now changed the subject. Have you seen the breaking news. That's happened in the last two minutes..

"Know how he's done it but you know he's going to be a popular kind of replacement Austin barnes place regularly enough. he's you know somewhat decent the the cubs just signed torino's To a one year deal because all of their catchers outside of wilson contracts richard. Yeah so he. He'll get some playing but like yeah. I mean it's it's pretty gross. Jake rogers i mentioned eric. Rogers like the starting catcher hospitals in. But they can also play in the outfield. And that's why they have that. You know tom murphy and wrens. I know Either or has been available in a lot of leagues. So there's there's there's some names it's not going to be great. But i will say this. You didn't lose batting average so taking one of these batting average slugs is not the end of the world. Because it's not like he was grondahl. Was doing anything for you you know. Yeah so i definitely think like okay. I can get somebody who's hitting to eleven and that's actually an improvement over what what grondahl was doing but with the jimenez rehab going to be out. Probably spend most of the the rehab down there. What is your expectation from him. When he comes back. I mean my guess is that you know. They're going to be kind of careful with them. He is a huge piece of their futures. So i don't think they're going to bring it back if he's not ready to go. I kind of expect him to be eli when he comes back in. So if those of you who have stashed him on your i els Good for you. Because i think what you're going to get a nice little. Infusion it's alan about the league's raise available what are you. What are you putting in there. I think you should have grabbed him a few weeks ago when you could have gotten for a few bucks easy to say now. Yeah it's not easy to stash a guy like that in the nfc format by the way they took them off the board in my mind. He was off the wall before the draft in my main event. So i guess he'll come back out when he's when when he always officially back. Should i save for that. I might if you don't need anything like in particular right now. You've got a really strong team. You're in first place. And you're you're really looking at the overall or yoyo saying if i have those things if will know if you do and i know you are in that situation in your main so yeah i think i would probably try to save a fair amount of my money to kind of go really strong on a guy like yayoi for the further. You know final stretch. I'm fifth and cash and there's some quality a lot of the people that have more money are in the mix. It's not it's not the guys at the very bottom including robbed. epa tro. he's sitting there with a few more bucks than me and He's in fifth and so i wonder if he'll be looking at him. You know hittings not my biggest need but it's eli freaking jimenez. Yes you're not gonna get a talent like this off the waiver. Wire i mean it's it's really vidal brouhaha and then this and i think that's going to be your main town source off. Wanted to side with team to right and if you need the speed or if you need the power or and if you need the infusion of talent right now or you can wait upwards or if you need an infielder versus outfielder right. 'cause route brouhaha lay second so You know that may just figure team construct better. But i do think he's someone if can pick them up now you need to go pick them up and just try to stash them for the next few weeks or if you you have to wait until he's actually up then yeah you can save a little bit of foul is available in my teaching. Fbi league doesn't surprise me and it's it's interesting. sitting right. There is eighty one percent roster. He's two percent started. So you need to find. Who's starting him kick that person out of tgi beans. They clearly have not changed their lineup. That's my that's my guess. I'm out here raton on fools. I'm sorry but Fixture lineups anyway. Let's move on. We are in a little bit of a time budget here rowdy till has traded to milwaukee and everyone did the obvious but still funny sometimes. An obvious joke is still very funny. the spiderman meam with him in vogel bach very easy but excellent. I still laughed. Very heartily Because that's basically what he is right he. He's basically filling in for vocal bach. Who's hurt and he is vocal. Bach right yeah. And i think this might be a little bit of a long term. Play too with the idea that the h. will be here in twenty twenty two. Yeah so i mean this whole now help for this year at all a little bit. Yeah connected right. Manfred gets drunk at the all star game. You know what nationally needs the age man man. I'm sorry you know listen. We took away spider tak. We're gonna do a trade okay. We can keep the spider attack but you can end the that's cool. It's cool yes the second half of the i love to lead coming into the air. Those strikeout gains last year. I thought had some viability to them. Not that he was going to maintain a sixteen percent strikeout rate but he was at twenty eight percent before that and i thought he could be closer to the sixteen than the twenty eight. I thought somewhere in the low twenties would be great with his power profile. Takes you know takes a few walks. Nothing crazy but i thought we could see a breakout from him. This year and it not come to fruition. He did the strikeouts actually did go where i thought. Twenty two percent fine but he has a one twenty five. I so in sixty three. Wrc plus Do you see a surge here nonetheless. They're going to actually play him and my thought was they. Were making the trade so they could send casting here back down to the minors. That hasn't happened quite yet. You know it might have been though 'cause since that little league burst. We got from cousin here when he first came up. He's been a tragedy in weird. Who could have seen that. Yeah who surprise possibly could have seen that besides everybody so. Yeah i want to be good but my goodness i do think we could see Till as fairmont playing time here moving forward is especially if they do make a move gives me the also jas peterson. Starting second base with. Hey relax he had homerun off the ground yesterday. Oh no joe hall actually. Well no joke though. He's actually out of his mind right now..

"What he got. So you guys wanted to talk about the dodgers. i'll introduce some thing that honestly made my heart melts the last night doc. Peterson got his ring. It was presented to him. By andrew. Friedman justin turner clayton kershaw. Quoting bellinger. An ag pollock. But that's not why. My heart melted so his brother. Channel peterson who is jackson brother. And who has down syndrome also got arraigned by the dodgers. I have two autistic brothers. I love this man like this made my heart smile so much. Like ho- amazing. Is this because if you know champ was a jock like best e. I was reading this article. And he's really close to his brother. So the the organization doing that for him and just recognizing i just i like literally was crying winner at the story. Yeah i saw the interview. He did to like sideline reporter or whatever. Yeah it was pretty cool to do. That is a touching and great job by the dodgers for doing that. That was pretty awesome. Movie absolute class act. No doubt that is what you need to know. Brought to you by morongo casino resort and spa good times less than ninety minutes from wherever you are all right. So there's a lot of people want to chime in on this glamping or camping thing greg. Greg is in denial by the way on this stuff. But let me. We'll get to that second. We'll get a second get to say. But let's talk dodgers because i know you don't want to talk about this either to be honest with you greg greg. What what is the problem with your squad man. They are just not hitting right now. And it's becoming a problem You would think that when they take away all the sticky goop stuff. That's going around major league baseball right now that that within rates dropping considerably the you'd be able to hit but no the dodgers are in one of those moments right now where they just cannot get it to save their life. I think what it is is mostly because they're so patient at the plate. They'll take walks. But they're getting striking out or just not getting timely hits and had eight hits. They had eight walks last night and couldn't get a hit. It's bring anyone home so there's always guys on base but bring home greg. I think were key used to bring and that was an attitude into the clubhouse that kept everyone loose. Everybody's got a role you got leaders. You got the quote unquote role players. You have the bench warmers. Who are there to push you in practice blah blah blah and they have the glue guy. The person who don't just keep you together in terms of what we're supposed to executing but also keeps you together because it keeps things. Look who's jared dudley. Does that for us. You know with the with the lakers. Obviously we all know you know about you. Don has has them and what he brought to that locker room. You know for the miami heat for a number of years. There are always guys on championship. Quality teams whose role goes beyond the stat sheet and part of the reason why i was so heartbroken over. Kiki leaving us for boston was because i hate boston but the other reason was because i knew the attitude that he brought to that thi this post twerking videos of him so i was just going to say it's the best worker on. Yeah i mean but but that gives you an insult if you remember that video of him to work and you can hear the guy's laughing in the background i can't think of a better representation of all the off the field things than keith. A brain or used to rain today clubhouse then that's that level of levity and when you're struggling being reminded that is just baseball can happen through laughter and i'm not sure who's the jokester who's the glue guide George right now. I mean i guess. Turner has some of that in him. you know. I look at that roster so while you're looking at the roster. There was a yoshi to sue. Sue sue go. Who came over from tampa bay did this thing on dodgers social media whereas called coffee with with yoshi and he thought they asked them the question. Who is the most. Who's the most fun person in the locker in the dugout locker room all that clubhouse and they said yeah clubhouse and they said he said austin barnes now i love austin barnes. I don't he doesn't bring the same thing that that that k brought you know what i mean so right. So like kika was was wearing the banana suit wore. I started the tight pants thing. He brought the bubble machine a couple of years ago that those are all the things that he brought to it. And you don't have that guy. Well the only the only like i mean they have the tino players right. I know what i'm saying but like our pools is the only one that plays regularly and he's like old and a robot you know what i'm saying like he he's not gonna be that guy. You need some flavor in the locker in the clubhouse. You know what i'm saying like i don't disagree with that. I don't know about the reasoning hitting though you know what i mean like i personally i i get what you're saying i don't i don't make that connection between the hitting you know what i mean. I mean in order to hit. You need to be relaxed. I mean they were hitting just fine a few weeks ago and then you know they just been up and down. They've been my point is i..

"Game P. J. Carlesimo's Their joint is that 2 30 Teddy Atlas. At 3 30, which looks to be a Pretty damn cool documentary on show team. Showtime called the King's to four parts special focusing on Durant, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard. That's what I'm talking about. Chris Mullin would join us for 50 and bags will join us at 5 30 Taeko Giants baseball fellows, What's going on, Yo. What a weekend. My correct very happy Krueger. Oh, my God came of the year. Yes. And it all hinged un pull holes deep to left talking and going back. Oh, my goodness. That was if the Giants keep this rolling and somehow reach October. I think we're gonna be pointing to That incredible game and that incredible catch That was amazing. There's no doubt about it, cause I was stunned when they tied it up. I was like Austin Barnes. Yeah. Got to be kidding me. I was like, seriously. Ever. They can't beat these guys. Villages something and not only did they beat him is three in a row is like bam, bam! Bam! I was like, okay? Okay? Get the we left. We're one of the Giants of fair Over the weekend. We already saw one loss to the Dodgers were like, Damn. He had three more. Do we have three more to go this weekend? We come back. Guess who's sitting on top of the NL West? Sir, the San Francisco Giants 34 20 the thing that we talked about one of the things but the biggest thing we talked about going into this season and Tommy, you brought it up. Because It made sense. How would they fare against the Padres and the Dodgers? And if they could just if they could be OK against those guys? That's a success. What we're seeing right now is they can easily compete with them. So now at this point is game on. Yeah, you know, I mean, they played basically the same number of games. You know, for both of those teams, the Padres and the doctors and I don't have the numbers rattling around in my head. But it's been a lot more success than many of us thought that they would have their deposits to one over against the pods one under against the Dodgers against these two seeming juggernauts. This game on now to first and they're in first place half a game ahead of the Padres. The most amazing the most amazing thing, guys, and then I'm watching this team my whole freaking life. I've never seen this. They're on pace for 102 wins. They're hitting 2 30 as a team. They're not really hitting. I mean, yes, is cold. Dickerson's cold Slater's averages way lo talk. Min sub 200. And We're one third of the way through the season in the toughest division. I think that we've seen in baseball in quite a while. And they're on and they played these teams there 500 against him, and they're on pace to 11 or two. I mean this. I'm just enjoying it hoping it continues every night. Well, here is my dears, too. And I'll be there tonight. Just you you. Are You gonna go bringing bringing the boys the boys? Uh, so they're reasonable facsimiles? Yeah. Yeah, mirror images of each other exactly without looking into the stats. Uh, there we know that can pitch we know. We know they can pitch the bullpens Been good that great but good. Uh, Roger's been incredible. Andrea Starting pitching has been phenomenal. But as far as the hitting goes like I don't know if numbers would bear this out. I mean, they look they can't hit. A lot of teams can use that doesn't hurt you as much, but they are second home run, so they hit the ball over the wall, but it's not just the hit home runs. There is not a real meat of their order. They got like guys. You can hit home runs all through the lineup, like the seventh guy, the eighth guy, that leadoff guy, I mean, they can all hurt you and they might have a whole bunch of guys this year. They have 10 home runs or more, so it's not. You know, I got to do is a cash in a few times, right? You get cash in a few times, and it could be this guy could be that guy. Maybe it's a couple guys on base hit a three run, Jack. You get a big hit here, but it's not. Oh, man to get to the bottom of the order, and they're all outs. They're not all out. I mean, cause they can all hit it out of the ballpark two and even guys coming off the bench. Can head out of the ballpark. So I think that's the strength of this team. Not necessarily hitting for average, but they have guys that can hurt you throughout the order, so one guy may not have a monster year. When you look at his stats throughout the whole year, But when you add it all up, you're gonna be like Oh damn, That guy has 19. That guy has 17 17 14 13 11 10 10 10 12 You like Okay, I I kind of see how they do it now. I don't know. You know who has the I don't know what the like. How many guys have like 45 more Homer Bible, More home runs in the giant. I could look for a quicker form or whatever would put you on pace for 10. Probably about four. I guess that puts you on pace for 10 at this point. But to me, that's like the thing of this lineup and again. It's deep because it reminds me a little bit of the Rays line up in that they talked about the race today and they were saying, Well, I mean, Joy windows their best hitter. Glass knows their best picture. They got the best record in baseball there half game over the Giants on and they only have one guy on that team that might make the All Star team. I mean, that's incredible to think they have one guy that might make The All Star team. They're saying glass now probably probably would be that guy. The Giants are similar in that you look at this team You like. All right. Buster is an all star Gausman Zagat's Mons, an All Star. Maybe they have another one. But it's not a team. You look at, like the Dodgers. You like. Oh, damn. They could have four all stars on that team. But the Giants aren't that team. So it really is. I mean, both of these teams are doing it with team. They're doing it with deaths that the depth they're doing it with guys that can hurt you up and down the order. They didn't just say, you know, it's let's spend all this money in our top four. And then they arrested the You know the rest of line. It's gonna be a little not really sure. That's not how they've done it. And it seems to be paying. You know, you know what? It's organization, Its organizational. That's the other thing, too. It's like The Rays or have been on the cutting edge of the analytics. Since since the beginning, the Giants under this era under this regime, have wed themselves completely to the analytics. They're seeing those numbers through to the field, and I'm wondering as you brought up Tampa is maybe we're in the early days like this works technically, probably in the early days of the heavy analytics. Is. It may be that the baseball team should have a strict adherence to the analytics and less of the, you know. Hey, well, you know less of the old school mate. Are we seeing the two newest school analytic? You know, driven organizations, um, picking up actual ground in the standings and winning games by what they do in the office prior to the game..

"It was hard fought, and it got a little dicey. But thanks to my main man empty, we're celebrating. 11 out. Tie game eighth inning. Here's the pitch. Posey. It's a high fly ball left field going back on the ball suit suit. Go all the way back. It's good. Buster Posey, a three run homer to break the time 52 Giants here in Is gone. I don't believe it. Austin Barnes is just tied the game to pitch who holds hits a high fly ball left field. Talk Mons back at the wall leads head. He makes the catch. My talk man is lying on the dirt on the warning track, and he just robbed Albert pulls to keep the Giants in the game is hit to right center field and very well hit. Sprinting back and over the head of noisy. It's a base it up against the bottom of the wall. Coming around. Third is Wade Hill score. Here comes your strengths Key and he scores. And a second with a double. Evan Longoria 8 to 5. Giants rips one to left field Going back on. It is talk man. He'll make the catch in the ball game is over and kind of a fitting way for a den that might talk. Ben would squeeze the last out because his defense is the reason the Giants had a chance to win it in the tent and win it. They did private, most one play to make this announcement there so impressive little kids like Over your chain link fence in the backyard, So it's just, you know, the opportunities are so few and far between that you know, when you get to get a chance of one. It's pretty cool. My talking everybody the hero on Friday night with the glove, I mean, robbing the Robin pool halls like that. The crowd reaction.

"It's time to go in the booth. And it's time to bring in our good friend Mike Kruk. Oh, Kruk. What's going on home room? How you been? Excellent, sir. It's a pleasure to chat ball with you. Out an oracle park right now. What do you What did you think of last night's game? I mean so many different ways to unpack it. But, you know, the mike talked and grab the great performance from the offense against Kenley Jansen, the 10th inning. How do you sum that up? Oh, my God. That was so much fun. Do you know how much fun you those were? The days you live for? Is a broadcaster. It's so much fun because Well, that game was being played. Everybody anticipated everything about that game. Giants fans were anticipating a two out three run home run by Austin Barnes. Going? Oh, my God. He's gonna hit a homer. Oh, my God is gonna hand boom. He hits a home run. Then the very next guy comes up and it's pools that's like, Oh, my God, he's gonna get over. Oh, my God, and he hits one over the wall and talk man goes over and gets it. I want those of the games. You watched your partners, and last night it was John Miller and Dave Fleming. And they just get so into the moment that it's just it's contagious for me, and it becomes entertaining. I mean, I love it. When when type gets into Ah, call or John or Dave gets into a call. I mean, it's not just something that is on the top. I mean, it's deep rooted and it it was fun. They needed that game last night. That was a playoff game for the Giants. I say whatever you want they needed if they could not lose that game with a three run lead in the ninth. And they did, and they came back and won it number legal fashion, which, Yeah, telling you is one of my favorite games of the year. No question. No question at all. It was really an incredible performance from this Giants team. And you know, you can look at that catch that talking maiden so many different ways, Mike, but one thing that we did on the postgame show last night was We played the pensive defense catch in 2014, the NLDS against the Washington Nationals, and you immediately jumped in on that broadcast and said, that's one of the best catches. You'll ever see in right field that Oracle Park. I would argue that this might talk me catch is probably one of the best catches you'll see at Dodger Stadium. That's a very high outfield wall. Eight FT, and he went over them the wall to go in. Grab that and bring it back. Well, I mean, he timed it perfectly, and he had a fly ball to work with. I mean, it would have been a plan. Don't know if he could have gotten back in time it had been a line drive. There was from behind to it, so he did have a chance to go back. But because of that wall in the height of that wall, you have to time it perfect because you have to be the top at the top of the jump. You can't be coming down and snagging it. You have to time it perfectly, and that was the beauty of it. When you go back and look at the replay of the high backhander, the overhead backhander, he peered it. It's right in the sweet spot. Had. I mean, it just stuck there, and it was a collective around that ballpark. Everybody was stunned, including Mike talk. You could look at this Giants game and point out so many different heroes. Whether it would be Buster Posey, whether it would be Mike talk man, Evan Longoria hitting the ball to the right field wall against Kenley Jansen. But I want to point out Lamont Wade's contributions that this is a guy who does not have a whole lot of experience at first base, and I think he won himself a job with that performance. The Giants have the option someone to get warmer. Flora's back on the roster day crew, and I think that Lamont Ways performance last night helped him stick around ahead of Jason Vossler..

"Marty Laurie. Pitching in trying to horn Here's your Giants pregame host Marty Laurie on these sports leader. What? We're talking Baseball and Memorial Day weekend. What a week It has been the Giants to the Houdini Act, getting outta Arizona on Wednesday night, winning 5 to 4. Losing to the Dodgers on Thursday and then last night, one of the epic epic giant Dodger Games and Let me tell you fans, this rivalry goes back. 100 years. You look in the sixties, you could look in the thirties, the forties. You can look in this century as well. And there are always giant Dodger games is John the Count Mont. A few SCO and all the things that have happened between Giants Dodgers. And last night the game came through for everybody. It was amazing if you're just waking up, or if you just getting into baseball for the weekend, the Giants end up winning 8 to 5 in 10 innings last night, and believe me It looked like an easy giant win that turned into Ah heartbreaker and then turned into ecstasy for the ball club as they scored three runs in the 10th inning off the Dodgers to win it 8 to 5, But before we get to that, Couple of shadows this morning to my dear friend, Elliott Schwartz. Dr. Elliott Schwartz to for many, many years was the A's team physician, Warriors and Raiders and just a wonderful man and has always been there for everybody. Elliot is fighting a tough battle right now, and our love goes out to him and Patty and Nathan and we think about him a lot. Ah, big shadow this week to Golden Gate urology. And Dr Andy Pinkney. And, of course, my son in law, Dr Greg Bar May they took care of me all week long, and I appreciate everything. There is no one better in Berkeley than Area. It's golden Gate urology. So, Andy, pick me. Thank you so much. I know your Yankee fan and also Greg Bar May and Joanna in the office, Guys. Thanks for taking care of me this week. All right, let's look at the game from last night a little bit. There were so many big plays and Larry Krueger bill and I'll talk about it in the next segment, but just to go through it a little bit because who's on my mind, and I had a tough time falling asleep last night after the game. Really was that exciting a lot of big plays, and Stephen Duggar hit a home run last night. But the play of Lamont way Junior last night I thought was outstanding. A couple of walks for him A couple of outstanding maybe three outstanding defense of plays last night for Lamont Way Junior at first base. And he really came through a beautiful throw to the plate to cut down a runner throw was right on the plate. Well, when I'll talk about that tomorrow about that play for him. But in the 10th inning with Kenley Jansen on the mound, then there was an out and the Giants needed to get that first run in and Lamont Wait, just took a no to pitch and just ripped it into right field that put the Giants ahead. 6 to 5. After that Evan Longoria off the bench, a double 10 R B. I's for him. In his last eight games, two more runs scored and the Giants went up 8 to 5, and that eventually was The winning margin, But you got to go back to the eighth inning and Buster Posey a three run homer to put the Giants up 5 to 2. Proposes Homer number 10 on the season for him and number 1 50 of his career. So all right, we go to the ninth inning and Tyler Rogers comes in, and you're feeling pretty good. And before you know it, there's two out two on On Austin Barnes comes up and he knocks one out. Knocks one out to tie it up 552 out in the bottom of the ninth and it's 55 and then Albert pull host comes up and let's face it. He's going to be a first time Hall of Famer. And interesting story to watch him with the Dodgers. And Rodgers. Those the pitch pull host gets under it and let me tell you, Charley Steiner. Everybody else who broadcast this game thought it was gone. As it majestically floated out to left field and you're saying is it gone? Is it gone? And my talk man goes back to the wall jumps times asleep perfectly. The glove goes over the wall, and he brings it back and pull host is out. Everybody thought it was a home run Pull host thought it was a home run. And the inning ended and save the Giants, or else it would have been a 65 walk off for the Dodgers. Incredible, Really. It was an incredible finish to that inning and your breath was taken away. But what it was was Giants Dodgers, and that's what it comes down to San Diego one last night, and the Dodgers, of course, end up losing the Giants win so both the Giants and Dodgers air tied again. We're heading into the one third market the season it'll be Monday when the Giants play the Angels and already they've got 31 wins at one third. So Raff is a math genius. You know that. Three times. 31 is 93. This was a team that was supposed to win seventies to 74 games. So amazing third of the season for the San Francisco Giants. Other things that happened in the game last night, and I want to point out a few of them. As I said, we'll go through him in the first hour of the show tonight. Yeah. Donovan Solano, a big sacrifice fly for him, Mike you Stransky. A couple of walks last night, scored some runs. Uh, Anthony, the squid, Funny boy. He was all over the place last night. If the glove was in the outside corner, he threw the ball on the inside. But he got the big out when he had to get it, and he also laid down a sacrifice bunt, and he kept the Giants in the game. Dodgers. Two for 14 with runners in scoring position, so he did keep him in the game. But low tell McGee and Barrenger outstanding out of the bullpen one more time. Ferris Bueller. I mean, Walker Bueller. He had a day off yesterday. He wasn't great. But even is Miserable is he? It was all over the place. He couldn't get his curveball over. Still a fabulous game for him and the Giants and the beating Bueller, which is a big deal because today it's areas and Logan Web and that will be another good challenge for the Giants. Brandon Crawford last night hit the ball hard. He was robbed and left field. I'll tell you if you want to watch a game. Go back and watch this one. This one had a lot of great plays in a little bit of everything, but to sue, Go, goes back and left field and robs Crawford with a couple on base. Crawford hitting the ball really, really well. For Max Muncy. He's always trouble Larry Crew. We'll talk about that. Mookie Betts is struggling a little bit right now and probably won't play today, but Bellenger comes back today. For the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Giants are 12 and 22 against the Dodgers in their last 34 games, the Giants of 18 of 12, and they've won eight of nine road games. And the Giants now have 52 homers on the road and incredible total on the road..

Los Angeles Erupts As Dodgers Win First World Series Championship In 32 Years

"I WANNA zoom out here now on the dodgers as this franchise because this was their first championship in thirty two years and I was watching Dave Roberts and putting aside all of the Cova. Complications it was hard not to feel something for that guy and it was hard to feel something for this organization N. This fan base and this city. So what did you make of the dodgers finally getting over? This. Particular Hump, you know I think that Dave Roberts has been a guy who at times has been rightly maligned for his decision making but the decision making that will stick with me from this postseason has to do with two pitchers Clayton Kershaw in Julio. Arenas Dave Roberts twenty four hours before he won a world series championship got booed by a crowd that was almost entirely dodger fans at a neutral site stadium. It was a really weird thing. This guy who's got all these supposed demons and October's getting a standing ovation coming off the field. For for people who think he should have stayed in the game it was just a very bizarro situation and you know what I think Dave? Roberts. made the right move there. And people are always going to say process over outcome process over outcome raised died on that mantra and. Dave Roberts lived on it. He ended up going with Julio Arias for the last three innings of the clincher in the S. In the last three innings of the clincher in the world series he had Clayton Kershaw and Kenley Jansen, his two rocks out in the bullpen ready and willing to go and he said now I'm a stick with a kid who's pitching. He stuck with the guy who looked good and that is one thing that Kevin cash did not do. And there's an argument to be made. That they lost the world series because of that. And then you look at Julio. Maria Standing There Austin Barnes catching that call third strike in grabbing the ball with his right hand and stuffing in his back pocket. That's history in his back pocket right there and the celebration that came afterward and all of the madness and weirdness and oddity of two thousand twenty being wrapped up in such a perfect though.
