A highlight from 1376: This Will Send Bitcoin to $1,500,000 - Cathie Wood
"In today's show, we're going to be breaking down the latest technical analysis, as well as Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy and Bitcoin, three years after, now at 153 ,000 BTC on their balance sheet. We'll also be discussing Bitcoin's secondary scare now playing out, warrants top analyst Benjamin Cohen. But how low will the Bitcoin price plunge? We're going to be discussing that. As well as one catalyst which can trigger the Bitcoin price to explode by more than 450 % predicts fund strats. Tom Lee will also be discussing rich dad Robert Kiyosaki predicting Bitcoin rising to a million dollars per coin and gold hitting 75 ,000 while silver hits 60 ,000. If the world economy crashes, we'll also be discussing Cathie Wood confirming her one and a half million dollar Bitcoin price forecast for the king crypto. We'll also be taking a look at the overall crypto market, all this plus so much more in today's show. Yo, what's good crypto fam? This is first and foremost, a video show. So if you want the full premium experience with video, visit my rumble channel at cryptonewsalerts .net. Again that's cryptonewsalerts .net. With that being shared fam, welcome everyone. This is podcast episode number 1376. I'm your fearless host JV and today is stacking Saturday, it's August 19th, 2023. Let's kick it off with our market watch as we do each and every day. We got Bitcoin still in the red unfortunately, but maintaining that 26 ,000 support. We have Ether and many of the alts back in the green, but barely after one of the biggest bloodbaths we have experienced in several months, we have Ether maintaining 1600 and it's just above one trillion. So the entire crypto market cap right now is only a trillion dollars. Isn't that insanity? Now there's 26 billion in volume at the past 24 hours with Bitcoin dominance currently at 48 .1 % with the Ether dominance at 19 % even and checking out the top 100 crypto gainers in the past 24 hours, we have SUI up about 16 % trading at 55 and a half cents, followed by Hedera, HBAR up 11 and a half percent trading at six and a half cents, followed by AKT up 11 % trading at $1 .55 and checking out the top 100 crypto gainers for the past week. Finally, we have many of the alts back in the green, but we have to keep in mind the massive bloodbath with over a billion dollars worth of liquidations practically in the past 48 hours. So naturally a lot of these altcoins are bouncing back after 20, 30 % losses and checking out the crypto greed and fear index, we're currently rated a 39 still in fear. We were in fear yesterday at a 37 last week was a 54 neutral and last month a 56 in green. Greed. So there you have it. How many of you have taken advantage of this recent dip? Please do let me know. BTFD and Staccanem Sats, dollar cost averaging is the name of the game, especially if you're in this for the long haul and also want to ask you where my long -term hodlers at, make some noise in that live chat. Now we're going to do our technical analysis a little bit different today. Why not try something new? And yes, I got some color to my skin because I spent the day at the pool here in Puerto Rico yesterday with my daughter and it feels good. Soak it in those sun rays, free vitamin D, D3. Why not take advantage of it? But anyways, now let's break down our technical analysis. I'm using trading view today. You should be able to see this on your screen. Let me know in the comments. We're going to do the one day right now. It's a sell signal. Sell says 14 neutral is a seven and a buy is a five and you're going to check out these oscillators right here. It says buy and then you have the moving averages is a strong sell signal. You're going to see why here in a moment. Let's start with the oscillators, which you should be able to see on the left on your screen right now. Relative strength index we commonly cover, which is the RSI is a buy signal. The commodity channel index is a buy signal. The momentum indicator is a buy signal. The MACD is a sell signal. The Williams percentage range is a buy signal. We got some neutral signals, but let's check out these moving averages. Check it out. Sell, sell, sell, sell, sell. Everything virtually says sell for moving averages except the whole moving average. I'm not even familiar personally with that metric, but all the major ones, the exponential, the simple moving average, et cetera, all in the sell zone. Very interesting to say the least, but I want to know how many of you took advantage of this dip or are you expecting and anticipating the Bitcoin price to drop even lower? If you're one of those expecting a lower drop, how low would the Bitcoin price likely go? Let me know your honest thoughts in the comments right down below. With that being shared, now let's break down the latest with Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy because it was exactly three years ago today he got his infamous Bitcoin position and now today they hold over 153 ,000 BTC on their balance sheet, which is no joke. Some say when Bitcoin hits new highs, Michael Saylor is going to be amongst the richest persons in this world. That wouldn't surprise me whatsoever, especially with his attitude of there is no second best and continuing to accumulate Bitcoin and never selling, he said, for hundreds and hundreds of years to come, so we shall see how that plays out. All I know is Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy is the smart money, Cathie Wood is the smart money, and I like watching the smart money and not listening necessarily to what they say, but more importantly, always watching what they do. I'm watching you. You know what I mean? Anyways, fam, let's break it down. MicroStrategy's co -founder and executive chair, Saylor, who served as the company's former CEO for over 30 years, continues to remain bullish on Bitcoin three years after his publicly traded business intelligence company decided to make its first Bitcoin purchase. That's right. If you missed the memo, Michael Saylor, his company MicroStrategy was the first publicly traded company to put Bitcoin on its balance sheet. Saylor also made a big price prediction for the asset, believing it could exceed a million dollars per coin. I say that's conservative because I've covered Michael Saylor predictions here on the show of him talking about a $14 million Bitcoin price. Real talk. Now, MicroStrategy made history and headlines. It was August 11th, 2020, virtually three years ago after becoming the first publicly traded company to purchase Bitcoin. The firm initially hinted back in July of 2020 about its plans to invest in assets such as Bitcoin or gold rather than holding cash as a way to escape inflation, with the company later deciding to buy Bitcoin worth a quarter billion, 250 million, and adopting it as a primary treasury reserve asset. And how many of you remember the infamous quote where he compared keeping cash on the balance sheet as a melting ice cube? I'll never forget that personally. And according to Saylor at that time, who was MicroStrategy's CEO, the decision to go for Bitcoin was made because of the crypto, served as a better hedge against inflation and had a higher return on investment compared with other assets. Now, that purchase marked the beginning of several investments amid the crypto's volatile price movements, causing the company to hold a large Bitcoin stash. And in June of 2023, Saylor announced that the business intelligence giant bought 12 ,333 more Bitcoin for $347 million, making it one of the company's largest purchases in a single quarter since second quarter of 2021. And as of July 31st of this year, MicroStrategy officially holds 152 ,800 BTC, which the company said was purchased for roughly $4 .5 billion at an average price of $29 ,672 per BTC. Now the business intelligence software firm is the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. Besides corporate holders, we have the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, and they literally control over 400 ,000 BTC, just FYI. Meanwhile in a December 2022 SEC filing, MicroStrategy revealed it sold 704 Bitcoin to generate tax benefits. The sale was a first for the company with the action contrary to the previous statement by Saylor, who said that MicroStrategy would never sell any of its stash. Now Saylor is known as one of the biggest Bitcoin supporters and has continued to promote the asset as far superior to gold, which is fact, calling it digital gold. However, he has not always not been pro Bitcoin. I mean, there was a time it was actually against it. There's an infamous tweet dating back to 2013 stating it would suffer the same fate as online gambling. Meanwhile, online gambling seems to be soaring and thriving better than ever before. And the same thing with Bitcoin. Go figure. Even not a rocket scientist can be right every single time, right? But Saylor's view on Bitcoin has since changed and you got to respect he had the balls to change his opinion publicly. How many people like Peter Schiff refused to ever change their opinion, regardless of how wrong they clearly are. You know what I mean? Now the MicroStrategy executive chair in May of 2022 said the Bitcoin price can go into the millions per coin while stating it is the future of money. We know this is a fact. The following month, Saylor predicted Bitcoin price would skyrocket to a million dollars. And later in September of 2022, the exec said the crypto could be valued at 500 ,000 in the next 10 years if it matches the market cap of gold. And for context, Bitcoin's market cap is currently roughly 570 billion, while gold is currently estimated to be $12 .8 trillion. Now also, Saylor seemed to be unfazed by the ongoing enforcement crackdown on the crypto sector by the SEC, stating the regulators actions could benefit Bitcoin by boosting the asset's price and increasing its market dominance share to 80 percent. Could you imagine Bitcoin continuing to eat these altcoins kind of like Ms. Pac -Man? You know what I mean? I think it's likely to happen in just a matter of time. And Saylor, who served as the CEO of MicroStrategy for 30 years, left his position in August to become the company's executive officer, with MicroStrategy president Fongli serving as the CEO. The American business exec explained that his new role will help him better focus on the firm's Bitcoin acquisition strategy and related Bitcoin advocacy initiatives. So there you have it. The man just wants to focus on stacking more sets. You can't blame him. Much power and respect to him. Shout out to Michael Saylor. If he is one of your favorite Bitcoiners, do let me know. And which one of your favorite Saylor speeches? One of mine is, there is no second best. There's Bitcoin. And you got Bitcoin. Shout out to Saylor. Anyways, fam. Now let's cover our next story of the day and discuss when do you feel the bottom will be in for Bitcoin? Do you think the bottom is already in at 15 .7 or do you think we have lower to go? Let's see what some of the top analysts have to say. This is Benjamin Cohen. Cohen tells his 800 ,000 YouTube subs the current crypto downturn is in line with a pattern that occurs every four years. Quoting him here. The idea behind the secondary scare in crypto comes from the fact the S &P 500 tends to get a correction in August for September of its US pre -election year. As we know, we have a big presidential election in the US next year along with that having. So if we were to look at the 2023, you can see the S &P is in fact getting this correction, which we talked about. The S &P 500 is down a little over 5 % since the start of this month. And according to the widely followed strategist, Bitcoin has plummeted by between 39 and 83%. During the previous secondary scares, quoting him here in 2019, once the secondary scare got underway, once we got below the 20 week moving average, right, or the weekly candle that led us below it, Bitcoin dropped yet another 61%. This one, 2015, was about a 40 or 39 % drop. Then in 2011, you had an 82 .5 % drop before we actually finally bottomed out in the secondary scare. In all three cases in the pre halving year, the S &P dropped in quarter three of the pre -election year, and then Bitcoin entered into a downtrend for a while. And we have three examples, one where we went down about 80%, one where we went down about 40%, and one we went down about 60%. So on how long Bitcoin could fall going by historical precedent, Cohen outlines three scenarios, quoting him again. If it's a 40 % drop similar to 2015, 40 % drop puts Bitcoin at $17 ,500, OK? That would be the lowest. This would basically correspond to his 2015 move that would put Bitcoin at $17 ,500. A 61 % drop, which is what we experienced in 2019, would put it at around $11 ,400. And an 80 % drop would put it much lower, which I will say, I don't think it is going to go nearly that low. And to watch this video he did entitled, Bitcoin, the Secondary Scare Has Begun, check the show notes below the video in the description. And what are your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree with the analysts? My personal thoughts, the lows are already in. They were in a long time ago at the end of last year. We hit that $15 ,700 level. I personally am very skeptical that we'll ever see a sub $20 ,000 Bitcoin price ever again. But I could be wrong in the same token. That's my personal opinion. Is that OK? I'm just telling you how I really feel. I think it's a great discount to take advantage of buying Bitcoin right now, considering the all time high in November of 2021 was roughly $69 ,000. So you tell me the math, where are we at, like a 60, 70 % discount from the top? Not too shabby. I would be stacking stats like there is no tomorrow versus, oh, let's sell my entire Bitcoin stash and buy it back at $15 ,000. What if you're wrong? We don't go sub $20 ,000 and you lose out on a massive position. That could happen as well. I don't like gambling. I'm in this for the long haul and there's nothing like the real thing, baby. And that's the fastest horse in the race. That's the king crypto. We call it VTC. And with that being shared, fam, now let's discuss an $180 ,000 Bitcoin price prediction by the one and only Tom Lee of Funstrat Global Advisors, managing partner Tom Lees, is one of the catalysts which can spur the Bitcoin price to hit. Six figures is going to be Bitcoin ETF approval. Let's break down this Bitcoin ETF, because that's what everyone is talking about right now, right? Quoting him here from this interview, he says, if the spot Bitcoin ETF gets approved, I think the demand will be greater than the daily supply of Bitcoin. And so the clearing price, this is done by Sean Farrell, who is our crypto digital strategist, is over $150 ,000. It could even be like $180 ,000 per coin. A spot US because a spot Bitcoin ETF is approved outside of the US. When they asked him, do you think there will be a spot Bitcoin ETF? And with Bitcoin currently trading at what, roughly $26 ,000, that means he's predicting an appreciation between 467 % and 580%. Let's go send it. Now, on Bitcoin's likely price action, if a spot Bitcoin ETF fails to win approval in the US, Lee shares the following, they're still upside because of the halving next year. Yes, so you have a drop in supply again, so the clearing price has to increase, but it won't be six figures. So he's ultimately saying if we don't get the ETF approval, we can still go to six figures eventually, but not as soon as we would anticipate with the approval of a Bitcoin ETF. So according to the Bitcoin bull, the Federal Reserve's monetary policy going forward will impact crypto assets, quoting him again from this interview. Crypto is dependent on monetary policy, so if inflation is cooling, then we can start to bet on forward financial conditions, easing, and the central bank easing sooner. That's bullish for crypto as well as alternative assets. To watch this video he did on this interview, inflation is on the glide path towards sub 2 % by the middle, check the show notes below the video in the description. Let me know if you agree or disagree with Tom Lee, virtually predicting that the Bitcoin price will likely see 150 and 180 ,000 per coin between that range coming up here in the near future. And again, I'm going to read everyone's comments out loud, so please let me know where you're from and any comments or questions, address them right now in the live chat. Now let's discuss Robert Kiyosaki, the famous Rich Dad Poor Dad author, and his $1 million Bitcoin price prediction, followed by the one and only Cathie Wood of ARK Invest with her doubling down on her $1 .5 million price prediction and how she got to those numbers, you know, dates, et cetera, and everything that comes along with it, and then we'll dive into our live Q &A. Massive shout out to Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Poor Dad was a very influential book in my young adulthood, which absolutely impacted me in a positive way. So give kudos and flowers when they are due. In a tweet on Monday, Kiyosaki explained that while he expects the price of Bitcoin to reach $100 ,000 per coin in the near term, he believes that it can soar to a million dollars, while gold will rise to $75 ,000, I take it he means an ounce, and silver trade at $60 ,000 an ounce if the world's economy crashes, noting, he has been saying for years, that gold and silver are God's money, while Bitcoin is people's money, and he also wrote the following, bad news, if stocks and bond markets crash, gold and silver skyrocket, worse news, if the world economy crashes, Bitcoin will rise to a million dollars, gold to $75 ,000, and silver to $60 ,000. Now would you consider this bad news? If the markets crashed and Bitcoin skyrocketed to a million dollars, that'd be the best news of my life besides the birth of my daughter, just saying. He added that us savers who hold the US dollar will be called fake money, they'll be in serious trouble, noting that the US national debt is way too high, preach. Kiyosaki often said that gold, silver, and Bitcoin are his preferred investments, emphasizing they are the best for unstable times, and following his warning about the global recession, he cautioned in May the world economy is on the verge of a collapse, the renowned author predicted in February the price of Bitcoin would hit $500 ,000 per coin by 2025, the year preceding the halving, and while gold will soar to $5 ,000 and silver will hit $500 during the same time period, he recently started saying that the price of Bitcoin would $100 ,000 this year in 2023, and $120 ,000 next year in 2024, which is the same prediction made by Standard Chartered Bank, and FYI, guess who is the primary shareholder of Standard Chartered Bank? You guessed right, it's BlackRock, and did you know that BlackRock owns even a large piece of micro strategy? That's right, so they're already indirectly invested into Bitcoin, just pointing that out. This week, he urged the investors to buy silver before it's gone, noting that it is more affordable than gold. Kiyosaki has been warning that the US economy is headed for a crash landing, he previously said that America is bankrupt and warned of hyperinflation, the rich dad author has been cautioning that a giant crash is coming for quite some time, many, many years, right? Moreover, he warned that the US dollar will die as the BRICS nations, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and like 20, 30 plus other nations, plan to launch a common currency, and it's gonna be interesting to see how this plays out and what currency that they select. Could you imagine if BRICS adopted Bitcoin as their currency? Hmm, wouldn't that be a game changer? And also, there's other parts of the world right now with hyperinflation occurring in real time, I think Bitcoin is the only savior, just as it saved El Salvador, and if you translate El Salvador, it translates to the savior, go figure, could it be a coincidence? All by design. Let me know your honest thoughts, fam. And now let's break down our final feature story of the day, that's Cathie Wood of ARK Invest and her prediction of a one and a half million dollar Bitcoin price, send it and let's go, in a forecast case study released in February. Let me know if you can see the screen, I know the text is a little smaller on this particular article, but let me know in the chat, please. ARK Invest presented three scenarios for the crypto market until 2030. The bearish one suggests Bitcoin will just rise to 260 ,000. Not too shabby for a bearish scenario, send it, let's go, while the bullish one foresees a surge to one and a half million dollars per Bitcoin, and in the interview with Bloomberg this week, Cathie Wood said the team's confidence in the bullish scenario has increased. That's great, she's gaining more confidence, let's go. And as you can see outlined here, Bitcoin to likely scale into a multi trillion dollar market, you can see the bear case with a 2030 price target which shows 258 ,500 in this graph on the left, and then followed by that, the base case by 2030 represents 682 ,800 Bitcoin. I'd love that personally, I love all these targets, but could you imagine Bitcoin really hitting 1 .48 million, virtually 1 .5 million by 2030 in a bullish case, I most absolutely can see that happening. Wood believes Bitcoin will continue to establish itself as an insurance option against inflation. And that everyone will want it at the end of the day. Cryptos protect wealth from outright confiscation, great point, inflation and the risk of loss to third parties when stored or transferred. With the adoption of cryptos and the regulatory and legal framework in place, interest in Bitcoin will grow exponentially, I agree 100%. The SEC being flooded with applications right now to launch Bitcoin ETFs clearly indicates the same. ARK Invest teamed up with 21 shares and applied documents ahead of investing giant BlackRock, so they're actually first in line. The SEC has accepted this and other submissions as indicated in public records. A decision is due on 13th of August, but unfortunately, that decision ultimately shared that they were going to push back the decision now until I believe the first quarter of 2024. So sadly, there will be no Bitcoin spot ETF approvals anytime soon this year in 2023. That's the bad news. But some experts agree that BlackRock's participation increases the chances of a positive outcome existing crypto funds have already experienced an influx of capital from institutional investors not seen since quarter four of 2021 when we hit that all time high with over 700 million dollars invested into Bitcoin in just four weeks. So there you have it. And also, you can see here Bitcoin spiral for your cycle and you can see it shows you the bottoms, the halvings, and this is actually a pretty cool chart in this cycle with a record in 2026 Bitcoin will reach the maximum in the range, which is one hundred thousand to a million. I know that's a very wide margin and kind of the same as Stock the Flow model creator Plant B predicting Bitcoin being somewhere between one hundred grand and a million dollars after the halving. And in the next cycle, with a peak in 2030, the price will range from one million to ten million dollars per coin. Well, if you'd like to see a ten million dollar price action, let's freaking go. Now it's currently unknown whether the ARK Invest team was guided by the theory of cycles, but potential investors should consider that forecast and mathematical models give only a idea conditional of further changes. So there you have it, fam. How many of you are in agreement with Cathie Wood of ARK Invest that we likely to see that million dollar Bitcoin price or even above one and a half million by the year 2030, which is roughly seven years out? Let me know your honest thoughts in the comments right down below. And don't forget to check out CryptoNewsAlerts .net for the full premium experience with video and to participate in the live Q &A. A highlight from 637:FTXs Debt Crisis, Bankmans Bail Revoked, and UKs Ad Ban
"Rockstar Energy Punched, bringing a bold and unapologetic flavor packed with energy through a blend of B vitamins, corona extract, and 240 milligrams of caffeine to fuel what's next. Rockstar Energy Drink. Good evening and welcome to the Crypto Overnight -er. I'm Nick Ademus and I will be your host as we take a look at the latest cryptocurrency news and analysis. So sit back, relax, and let's get started. And remember, none of this is financial advice. And it's 10 p .m. Pacific on Friday, August 11th, 2023. Welcome back to the Crypto Overnight -er where we have no sponsors, no hidden agendas, and no BS. But we do have the news, so let's talk about that. Tonight we delve deep into Bittrex's recent settlement with the SEC. They're going to pay a pretty penny for noncompliance. We'll dive into the dramatic courtroom saga involving Sam Bankman -Fried and his revoked bail. The Winklevoss twins are back in the spotlight, battling it out with the digital currency group in a legal feud. We'll also explore the aftermath of FTX's collapse and the turbulent asset control feud that's emerged. The UK's crypto advertisement landscape might be shifting as the FCA plans a ban, but not everyone is on board. Finally, the European Union's digital euro project has economists raising eyebrows. Is it destined to fail or just facing some initial turbulence? Stick around as we break down all these stories for you. The US Securities Exchange Commission reached a settlement with Bittrex and its co -founder and former CEO, William Shihara. The settlement arises from allegations that Bittrex and Shihara operated an unregistered exchange. As part of the agreement, Bittrex and Bittrex Global have consented to pay a total of $24 million. This sum comprises $14 .4 million in disgorgement, $4 million in prejudgment interest, and $5 .6 million in civil penalties. The SEC's enforcement director emphasized that companies cannot sidestep liability merely by altering labels or descriptions. The core concern is the economic realities of the offerings. Bittrex's settlement with the SEC is not an isolated incident. The SEC has been actively monitoring and taking action against crypto exchanges that operate without proper registration. This regulatory scrutiny is part of a broader effort to ensure that crypto exchanges adhere to federal securities laws. Bittrex's decision to settle the charges without admitting or denying the allegations is a common approach, which is why the SEC doesn't. They know a lot of these companies can't or won't pay for a sustained legal battle, so they bully them into submission using the threat of a lengthy and costly trial. Easy way to rack up wins. Now, in this case, the settlement is still pending court approval. Bittrex's journey has been tumultuous. After facing enforcement actions from other US regulatory bodies, the exchange decided to cease operations in the US, citing the country's challenging regulatory environment. This decision was followed by Bittrex filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now, for me, the Bittrex settlement is a stark illustration of the challenges and uncertainties facing the industry. While the crypto community champions decentralization, financial freedom, and privacy, it's evident that the path to these ideals is fraught with regulatory hurdles. Any distrust toward governments and central banks are further deepened by such enforcement actions, which many in the community view as attempts to stifle innovation. Someone else is experiencing some rough seas. FTX's Sam Bankman -Fried seems to be sailing directly into the eye of the storm, with courts weighing anchor on his freedom.

.com, that's great, so official is done, now let's go to unofficial business, yeah, what do you got for the weather today, I've been in the weather, I mean, this is, you want to talk about it, no, it's just hot, hot, but it did rain today, on and off, yeah, yeah, it's always like that, yeah, I got some hints, there's a gentleman who is friend of mine, I told you about the Mexican, which is catching the tan, yeah, being deeper Mexican, yeah, you know what I'm saying, yeah, it's like, I don't know what comes, you know, like turning the toaster from lighter to darker, it can't be darker Mexican, he called me and he was in Lely, he says, oh, I gotta go, it's raining and so I knew I was supposed to prepare, it took five minutes and we had to rain here too, yeah, so, you know, it's all, you know, I was, I started at one end today, this afternoon and it was, I was down by Pine Ridge and Logan and it was raining like cats and dogs, we have to liquid up what that means, I have no idea, but it was, let's just say it was raining a lot and then, you know, I drive two or three miles and then all of a sudden the sun's breaking out again, no rain, you know what it's called, the rain, cats and dogs, no, I have no idea what it means, Jewish car wash, oh yeah, yeah, why is that, because you get the car wash from the dust and you don't have to pay for it, oh, okay, it's cheap, yeah, all right, some that's true, yeah, it just comes out and they get the sponge, unfortunately, there's so much dirt and oil and grime on the car, my car is always a lot dirtier, I mean, if you're riding toaster, that's what's gonna happen, you know, there's just gonna have some grime because that's when you're toasting and toasting, it doesn't matter what car I was driving, it's whenever I'm driving in the streets, it's a mess, yeah, that's what happens in Florida, it's a mess, yeah, that's why we have rain, to clean it up, I tell you what, today, there was a lady, she came up and she started coming here today, today was the official day, yesterday was tryout and she said she took our coffee yesterday and she was up until three o 'clock in the morning, oh my gosh, I said why you didn't call us, we have this special phone line, you know, 1 -800 number, divine divine 9, that's the, you know, and she looked at me and said are you serious, I said yeah, we used to have a sex line but we didn't get that busy, so now we have the old days of the 900 numbers and I'll be helping people and, you know, they consume our coffee, yeah, they're so jacked up and high on the coffee, so she got a rocket fuel and she said, you know what, intervention line, this is my coffee shop for everyday now, I used to go to Badass and I said to her, you know, but that's perfect because we have a coffee and then I turned around and I said and better ass, how did you, yeah, she was laughing and she ordered something, she ordered something and she said I want that sandwich, I said what is it, the one I had yesterday, I said what is it, she said chicken clucker, oh the chicken, it's not the mother clucker, no it's chicken clucker, chicken clucker, I said why are you saying chicken is mother clucker and then she started laughing, she just made a new name, chicken clucker, chicken clucker, it's basically chicken chicken, yeah, chicken chicken, chicken clucker, yeah, yeah and after, usually chickens cluck, that's what I'm saying, yeah, so you didn't catch the drift, no because I'm stupid sometimes, well I'm sorry, I'm looking at your face, I'm having to stare at this thing across, I used to be better looking when I was three and then after three years old it just went downhill, that's all right, you're all right, you'll be all right, you'll get over it, so after that we had people from Holland and they are hooked to our podcast now, so we're going international, oh good, well we were doing that anyway because the website divinenapels .com is international anyway, yeah, it's actually the largest hub for everything you need to know about Naples, that's correct, and I don't, what is it, almost 30 websites connected, 23 websites, 23 and 18, how many languages, 18, 18, I see, I remember that number, 18 different languages and that's what we're doing here, that means you know that's stupid then, yeah, I thought you were, no I'm always stupid, half as stupid as I look, but we're all right, yeah, we're doing good, so that's, we're doing good, that was quick, let's get past that, yeah, so I've been browsing through some news and what's going on here, hey why don't you share with us some news, yeah I will share that with you right now because it's Friday and people need to kind of have a weekend to think about it, right, so number one, there are some changes in the, in a lot of the like school buses routes and everything else and they install secret cameras on the buses, oh really, yeah, so if you're gonna be thinking you're gonna pass the bus, you know, monster before, yeah, I call them yellow monsters, yeah, when you see the yellow monster, you want to pass it, pass it, then be careful because they have a, they have a cameras and they read also license plate, so once you get through it, they will send you tickets, yeah, that's not gonna be pretty, yeah, well we need to be safe with kids, right, right, just slow down, so get up and take off to work or wherever you got to go a little early, yeah, but another thing is also they're changing the speed in the school zones, used to be 20 miles an hour, now it's 15, which I'm grateful for because, you know, it's, it's, as he's saying, it's important to, you know, people crossing the streets with kids.

Ethereum Daily
A highlight from DeBank Announces L2 Built On OP Stack
"Welcome to your Ethereum news briefing, here's your latest for Friday, August 11th, 2023. The bank announces a Layer 2 built on the OP stack, Eigenlayer plans to increase its liquid staking token cap, Avid proposes to add Wrapped Go as a collateral only asset, and SmallDapp introduces Multisave. All this and more starts right now. Optimism is providing us with 500 OP tokens to onboard users onto the network. Visit ether .fm forward slash NFT and enter code word DBANK for a chance to mint today's podcast as an NFT on OP mainnet and earn a share of 500 OP tokens. DeFi portfolio dashboard DBANK revealed plans to launch its own Layer 2 network built on the OP stack. Coined as DBANK Chain, the rollup will provide users with low -cost transactions and native account abstraction -like features, including a new account system integrated at the chain level that will provide users with a Web 2 -like experience. The new system supports transaction signing with a dedicated Layer 2 private key. DBANK Chain is now live on Testnet and is natively integrated into Rabi Wallet. Users can use a built -in faucet on Rabi to claim Testnet funds and use the network. DBANK plans to deploy the rollup to mainnet in 2024. Restaking solution Eigenlayer announced that it will lift its cap for liquid staking tokens until any one of the tokens hits 100 ,000 tokens restaked. The lift will go live on Tuesday, August 22nd. Eigenlayer currently supports restaking for STE, RE, and CBE. There is currently no limit for restaking native Beacon Chain Ether through EigenPods. Eigenlayer is still in the first of three launch phases. The second phase introduces support for node operators, which can receive delegation from restakers and operate validated services. The third and final phase introduces actively validated services, or AVS, that can receive distributed validation from participating operators. Eigenlayer holds over $80 million in total value locked. Aave contributor Mark Zeller published a proposal to add Wrapped Go as a collateral -only asset with a new stablecoin e -mode in the Aave v3 Ethereum pool. The integration would allow Wrapped Go to be used as collateral for borrowing USDC, USDT, DAI, and LUSD. The proposal aims to enable an arbitrage incentive when Go goes below its peg. The Go Stability Module, or GSM, will focus on incentives for when the stablecoin goes over peg. The proposal also specifies a 77 % loan -to -value ratio, an 80 % liquidation threshold, and a 4 .5 % liquidation penalty as parameters. The proposal is currently under community discussion before a vote goes live on Snapshot. And lastly, SmallDapp introduced MultiSafe, a dedicated dApp for deploying a safe smart contract wallet with the same address across multiple chains. The dApp also supports cloning for safe wallets that are already deployed. The dApp supports deployments for Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum One, and Gnosis Chain. SmallDapp is a registry of small dedicated dApps, including dApps for token distribution, disposal, and migration. This has been a roundup of today's top news stories in Ethereum. "One thing I'll say is, Gensler went on TV and he said something, he answered a question about this. And he said something like, well, it's not just me, it's a committee of commissioners that make these kind of decisions. So I have no idea if you guys can't hear me or I can't hear you. Can people hear me? We can hear you. We can hear both of you. Tone, tone over there. I don't hear Sam or whoever was speaking after me. So if there is a comeback to that, unfortunately, I can't hear it. Yeah, Tone, Sam is talking. You may need to bounce off and come back on. Yeah, I hear everybody else, but not Sam. I'll bounce out and come back. Yeah, anyway, I was just saying like Gensler went on TV and he was asked about this and he said, it's not just me, it's a committee of commissioners that make these decisions. And to me, that was kind of highlighted how maybe he thinks that these other commissioners might vote in the CTF. And if there's enough votes from these other four commissioners, and we know Hester Pierce, Hester Pierce has been supportive of Bitcoin and been very, very critical of the SEC's rejection of Spot Bitcoin ETFs for years. She's dissented and she's talked against it. There's other ones like Carolyn Crenshaw, Mark Ueda, who have spoken positively about it. So I think it's just something to note that I'm not exactly sure how much power Gensler has in the decision making over these commissioners. But that comment on TV made it sound like he might get overruled here by all these other commissioners who say, this is nonsense. Like it's time to approve of Spot Bitcoin ETF because it makes absolutely no sense and we have to protect investors. But that's just a different take, but it's something to think about.

What a Weird Week
A highlight from What a Weird Week Show: I have had it with these snakes in the sky! Fri Aug 11th 2023.
"The What A Weird Week show for Friday, August 11th, 2023. Snakes falling from the sky. Hi, everybody, it's weird. This is like Crazy Moon healing. Really weird, weird tales. Well, I got a great show for you today. It was so wonderful. Weird stuff. Hi, friends, I'm Scott, and this is The What A Weird Week show, where we count down the top 10 weird news stories of the week. You can like and subscribe to our podcast. You can also get all the stories we talk about in more detail on the show notes blog. That's where we put all the links. And you can check us out on YouTube. One easy way to find all that is just show notes dot page. That'll get you back to all the stuff show notes dot page. Ten. Here we go. Season four, episode 46, first published Friday, August 11th, 2023. Number 10 is Mayor Caught Cocaine. Usually you'd think it would be Mayor Caught with cocaine, but we're talking about Mayor Jane Castor, Tampa, Florida. She has made the news this week after her office confirmed that she was on a fishing trip in the Florida Keys the other day and reeled in a 70 pound bundle of cocaine. Sometimes I'll refer to that illicit substance as cocaine. By the way, I slip in and out of it. I don't know what it is, you guys. The estimated street value of the cocaine was one point one million dollars. My question is, what are the odds that a mayor of a city you've heard of goes fishing in cocaine infested waters and reels in a big one? And follow up question. How much cocaine is in the water off Florida? Are you just as likely to catch cocaine as you are to catch a fish? These are some follow up questions we got to get into. Nine. Not today. No follow up questions today, but sometime when we have the energy. Let's circle back and get into that. Nine. OK, number nine, Bear Crashes Wedding. Congratulations, Kalen and Brandon. They made the news the other day after their Colorado wedding was crashed by a bear. High school sweethearts got hitched. That's nice, right? But if you really want to get on the news, love isn't enough. It took a bear in the wedding reception tent on top of the dessert table, eating everything that I wanted to eat. Nobody got to eat the delicious cannolis because of the lousy stinking bear. Very selfish. No one was hurt. Security asked the bear to leave. So the bear left without mauling anyone, which, you know, that's that's a bright note. A mauling can really ruin a wedding. There is video of the bear on the dessert table. If you want to check that out, click show notes dot page. Here's a bit of the news report. High school sweethearts got hitched near Boulder in the pouring rain and had to add an extra plates for a bear. There he is right there. Kalen and Brandon say the bear crashed their dessert table during the reception. God bless the news and you hard working reporters trying to keep one foot in the local what's going on with the local, the town council and another foot in the light hearted throwing to the weather person every so often when we got a thunderstorm watch. And then you get the bear story and you're like, OK, how do I balance this? We've just had the fiery crash story. And now the bear on the that that portly bear on the dessert table. Anyway, God bless you news reporters. And I'm not being facetious. That ain't easy.

"So. That's the clip. I'm wondering if anybody has any takeaways from listening to that, any reactions, anybody on stage. I think a lot of people get tripped up with this. Freedom of speech issue and how it applies in a centralized commercial entity like Twitter or Facebook or whatever. Social media, the Internet, you know, I mean, Twitter is a company and they can do whatever they want. Like we don't I don't personally believe that you can demand that Twitter protect your freedom of speech. On Twitter, like that's ridiculous to me. And I see a lot of people getting the wrong idea, what I call getting the wrong idea. About this topic, like Twitter is not a town hall. And yes, it does reach like a certain level in size where, you know. A thing can be said or a post can have power or whatever you want to say, but ultimately we have to remember that Twitter is a centralized platform, a company. They can do whatever they want. On this platform. So I would agree that they can do whatever they want, given the fact that Elon has taken over and kicked the government out so far as we trust that he's actually doing that. I think the fact that he's being fined for not giving them access to Trump's DMs sort of shows a little bit of proof of that. Prior to Elon purchasing Twitter, I think the argument could have been made that it was a town hall because of the level of involvement that the government had. But now that it has sort of returned to its original state of being a private entity, my gut reaction to that video is like, no, this is terrible. But I think if you take a step back and look at the fact that they are trying to dedicate themselves to allowing free speech, that's a really important factor. I don't know if everybody up here has seen the video that was going viral about the autistic girl who got arrested in the UK, but that's the direction that we're headed if we don't be careful about allowing thought crimes to become law.

I've been thinking lately, like how we're getting into somewhat of like event conference season with TAV conference coming up, Pacific Bitcoin, Bitblock Boom right around the corner. And just kind of how last year was like so special with Pacific Bitcoin for me specifically was like when we were at that team dinner and FTX was, you know, de -pegging, collapsing, and we were all having like the best time. And it's just crazy to see how time flies. And like a year later, we're right back into it. So I would just encourage anybody that's, you know, not attending Pacific, you know, definitely go check out TAV conference, definitely go check out Bitblock Boom, try to go to some of these events and get to know some, you know, people in your in your community. But that's just what's been on my mind lately because, you know, we're nearing that time. Especially if you're thinking about you want to work in this space or something, it's such a good way to network. Just put yourself out there, meet new people. Those conferences are an easy, easy way for you to separate yourself from the pack. So I highly recommend you guys go to those conferences if you're thinking about, hey, I want to work in this space. It's just a little bit of a tip there. But yeah, Jacob, I remember Pacific Bitcoin, it was so special because FDX was crashing. I mean, it was literally around the bottom. So it was around 16K for Bitcoin. And what was interesting was that the energy there at Pacific Bitcoin, I mean, nobody really cared. I mean, it was just everyone was there for a different reason outside of conference. the energy Nobody was depressed or anything like that. It was like we were excited about some of this stuff getting cleaned up. And FDX was just kind of like a cherry on top of it. We were like, holy crap, look at all this happening. And so it gave us a lot of things to talk about on stage at that conference. So it was definitely a special time.

Markets Daily Crypto Roundup

"This episode of Markets Daily is sponsored by Kraken. It's Friday, August 11th, 2023, and this is Markets Daily from Coindesk. Danny Nelson here, in for George Kaloudis. On today's show, I'll be looking at the bleeding edge of Dow governance. And just a reminder, Coindesk is a news source and does not provide investment advice. I'm Danny Nelson, Coindesk's managing editor of Data and Tokens. And the story we've got today is one that really digs into an alternative way of making money in the crypto ecosystem, where instead of just passively buying and holding cryptocurrencies, you're an activist investor who acquires a position, goes out and then bends the targeted company or project to your will. And this is a story that I've been following for months. It's about the Aragon Association, which is itself a company that focuses on DeFi governance. So let's get into it. The piece is titled, Embattled Aragon Mold Sale of Crypto Project, Leaked Screenshot Shows. The Aragon Association, one of the biggest crypto projects building tools to support decentralized governance, is trying to get out of its own governance pickle. After months of pressure from activist investors eyeing its $180 million treasury, the Swiss -based Aragon project in June explored, quote, selling the project, end quote, to an undisclosed bidder for an unknown price. That's according to a leaked conversation held between activist investors, including the firm Arca. The screenshot is part of a 24 -page investigative report written by the crypto trading firm, Patagon Management. On Wednesday, an anonymous crypto wallet sent the report to Aragon's head of ecosystem. The undated report accuses the Aragon Association of years of missteps, including squandering its hulking $180 million crypto treasury. It also questions Aragon's compliance with Swiss nonprofit law. Coindesk could not immediately confirm those allegations. For months, activist investors engaged in crypto's quote unquote, risk -free value, or RFV, trading subculture, a digital age version of 1980s corporate raiders, have targeted Aragon. They bought up Ant governance tokens in order to wield influence over Aragon Dow. Most crypto traders try to passively make money by speculating on price. But RFV traders have a different strategy. They buy tokens that are trading below book value, which is to say the value held in a project's treasury. Then the activists push to close the gap and capture a hefty profit.

"You're about to make me cry. Yeah. What Dakota? Listen, not only that, but you're also an inspiration. I just, I just love talking to you from the moment I first talked to Dakota within seconds. I just love your energy. I'm so grateful to be and to Gavin, to everything Gavin, for making this acquaintance for us. And you've been someone that I've been able to rely on. And I want to give a special shout out while we're doing this. And we have our wonderful focus today on the publication and our special guest Dakota Somerville, the incredible writer, one of our incredible talented writers at the magazine. And we're talking about Afrolock magazine. Let me just be clear because now we also produce a magazine for the West Coast called Cali Brave. So I'm like, okay, we're doing it now. Okay. So I want to shout out to our, our subscriptions chief. You guys know Debbie's still part of, big part of this family from down in Florida. So we want to shout out Debbie. Also want to shout out to Khadijah who helps us. She's one of our other contributing writers. And so we're just, we're doing our thing here to make sure that, and let me tell you guys, the next issue of this magazine, it's the cover. The cover is going to blow you away. In my estimation, I think it's the best cover yet. And we've got some beautiful covers out there. I believe this is the best one yet. Yeah. It's absolutely gorgeous. Yeah. It's gorgeous and priceless and timeless and all of that. And so our covers are so beautiful that I've offered the big salons and the hair places that you can get them created in poster size and put them in your shop and the wonderful areas, your offices and things like that. These are some beautiful pictures, you know, so very innovative, incredible. I like that. Thank you. Yeah. Now Dakota, what has the feedback over at Rugged Evolution been to you? Have you heard anything from our wonderful friends about your work at the magazine? Anything they shared? Yes. So our CEO Arrington, Arrington our CEO and our CFO Dee, they both love the actual articles. The layout. And we have a bit of a chat. Yeah. And they are so thrilled and pleased with how it presents in the magazine. We all agree that it's one of the best magazine layouts that we've seen in a long, long time. Wow. That is just incredible to hear. And it means so much because we put so much into it. I spend a great deal of time, because I personally do, most of the layout does not almost all. And so every page has to touch my fingers in some kind of way because we want to make sure that there's a flow to the publication. We want to make sure that it has the right pictures, that there's no foggy stuff. We want to make sure that each article conveys what we want it to properly convey, and that it represents our community well, that it represents the perspective of helping others and how much this means to all of us, and that we're all here together. And so if you guys out there want to join us as a writer like Dakota, you know, and be part of this and be on the radio like Michael Hopkins, you know, and own a production company and radio company and publishing company and a product company and a broadcasting company, you can join me. And so we'd love that. And so I just wanted to kind of say thank you. I really mean that. And so Dakota, now hold it guys. Now I have to tell you, we have some big things on the way. What we are also putting out there, and I have not shared this publicly, but I'm going to share it now. And yeah, this is really big because what we're doing, we'll be releasing quite a bit of the clips and all of that, and just making a big, big production of the work that goes into Afterlock magazine. So I'm super, super hyped about it. And I'm really, really proud of this. I really, really am Dakota. And Michael is just great to have. Oh yeah, it is. Well, thank you. Yeah. Thank you. I would like to interject and add one thing. What I've noticed that really, really, no, it's fascinating. So when I go in and check the articles to see the layout and all of that, I find myself each time scrolling through, scrolling through, just looking at all of the articles, not only mine, because you know what Carrie, I get such a feeling of culture. The culture jumps out at me when I look through Afterlock. And I want to thank you and thank you, thank you for allowing me to have the opportunity to jump in on this platform. I love it. Great. You are just so fantastic. Well, I have to tell you, that means a lot. Yes. And folks out there, if you're just tuning in, if you're just joining us, first of all, let me say thank you. And then secondly, let me say Michael Hopkins, Nicole Murray, myself, everybody over here at the Hair Radio Morning Show, I love that we have so many different factions to our success these days. We have our radio personalities, our radio show producers and hosts. Then we also have our writing team over at the magazine, folks who just help us so much to do what we do. And so we appreciate that. And the articles, the normal, folks always ask me, how do you do all of this, a couple of minutes. So we don't want you to go anywhere. I'm going to tell you how this all comes about. And I do have a little bit of a tidbit for this next issue. So we have not shared this. Nobody knows. In the past, I've kind of put things out there, here and there and all of that. But no, this time we are really going to roll it out as a surprise to everybody. And I think you're going to really, really love this. And I'm so excited. But I do have a tidbit that we're going to share with you in just a couple of minutes. So we don't want you going anywhere. Dakota, we have you for a little bit longer. So I'm hoping that you can stick around and help us to kind of stay on top of Afroloc Magazine. I just love that we get to share Afroloc Magazine. Yes, of course. I'm here. Oh, yeah. Awesome. Awesome. Okay. So listen, we're going to take a little bit of a music break. When we come back, I am going to talk about the process of I call AM. You know, we call Afroloc Magazine. We're fancy. We call it AM. And so I'm going to talk about the behind the scenes AM, what it takes to put together an issue and all of that. And then a little later, before we close out, we'll play a little bit of Khadijah's interview about Afroloc. Remember Khadijah is one of our head writers. So we'll talk a little bit more about her as well. So you have to understand what happens at Afroloc Magazine and why it's so, so, so important to us. And just, you know, it's a good time. So, okay, folks, stay with us. We've got a couple of minutes left. We'll be right back. Again, I'm Carrie Huggs. We'll be right back. Ladies, do you love a man with a well-groomed and sexy beard? "It's time to rise and shine with the Hair Radio Morning Show with Carrie Hines. All right, we're back live. It's Friday morning, August 11th of 2023. Yes, I'm Carrie Hines out of Brooklyn, New York. It's great to have you guys with us. This is our broadcast show number 878 today, 878. So if you're into numerology, there you go. Okay, so again, having a great show today. You know, we've been on with you since about six this morning, New York time, and it's just been great. Let me bring back to the line Michael Hopkins, my co-star. You guys know him. He's from a beautiful, I think it's called beautiful Spotsylvania, Virginia, and we're just so happy. Michael joins me every day. He hosts the Vet Talk show here on our network on Tuesday mornings at 830 Eastern. Michael, again, we're in our spotlight hour, third hour of the broadcast. Again, good morning to you. Oh yes, it is. Third hour. Oh yes, third hour. Yes. Looking forward to it. Yes, we've been killing it. Yes. Oh yeah, very much so. Real good stuff. Well, listen, today, you know, it's my birthday. It's tomorrow, technically. It's Saturday, August 12th is my wonderful 29th birthday. I'm like Jack Benny. I think his was 39. Yeah, okay, I was going to say whatever, something like that. But yeah, I'm happy to have made it this far. I been doing a great job with all that we've been given, and so I'm real happy to have everybody with us today. So first, let me bring, Michael, I'm so excited to have this next guest. This is her first time ever being on our broadcast. Wow. Yeah, and she's so, just a wonderful joy to get to know and to work alongside us with our incredible publication. And so, you know, I just am blown away and so excited to have her be on with us on this day. I just am in shock that it's actually here. So, this is going to be so, so wonderful to take a listen, you know, for you guys joining us. So first, let me just bring to the line, without further ado, you guys know her work. You know her work. You've read her work. She has been a columnist to our publication each month of AfroLock Magazine. And you can see her work, even today, by going to AfroLockMagazine.com. Again, AfroLock is spelled A-F-R-O-L-O-C-K. So it really means a lot on Afro culture, and by extension, on Black culture. So we're real excited. The Hair Radio Morning Show is proud to welcome the one and only Dakota Summerville. Good morning. You're on with Michael Hopkinson. Good morning, guys. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Yes. It's so nice to have you with us. We're live today on this August 11th morning, this Friday morning of 2023. We're so happy to have you with us. Your birthday celebration. Oh, yes. Yes, it is. It is. And just a nice, you know, well, we bring it every day anyway, because, and I really do mean this, it's not just a flat ado, but whatever. But we really do celebrate every day. Every day is a celebration on the shelf. And so that's what makes it so special to have you here today, Dakota. Thank you. So we got to start. I know a little bit about you, but the world, and the world has read your words already. You're out there globally. But today you're going to give, you know, let's talk a little bit about who you are to some of the other folks out there. Now first, let's go back. Now, where are you based out of Dakota? So I'm actually located. Yes, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Oh, wow. Wow. Now hold it. You mean to tell me we got another Virginian on the line? I didn't realize that. Oh, boy. Listen, two up, two down. This is the home of Pharrell, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Wow. Isn't that something? Oh, wow. Oh, boy. I wasn't quite ready for that this morning. Oh, my goodness. Oh, boy. All right. I'm sitting up here all the way in New York City, you know, and wish I were down at Virginia Beach. Oh, listen. Virginia Beach. Yes, I know about Virginia Beach. You know what that is, Michael? Oh, very much so. I am a graduate of Norfolk State University, so I better know where Virginia Beach is. Absolutely. I better know Virginia Beach, Hampton. What do they call it? Sandbridge in Virginia Beach? Yes, yes. The whole Hampton Roads area, yes. Very much so. That's home of the United States Navy. Yes. Wow. So, you know, I know a little something about Virginia down there. Oh, yeah. I just live up in the northern part of Virginia. I got to come down and visit, so I can't wait. Please do. Now, Dakota, I want to go back a little bit. Yes, I want to go back a little bit. You are doing some incredible work, and you are working in tandem with some folks that we love here at the show. The company is Rugged Evolution Beard Care, and Rugged Evolution has been with us for several years. They really have. They've been a sponsor of our program, and just friends. Forget that. They've been friends to our whatever we need. You know, they've been there, and Arrington has been with us. We've brought in the new year together. Arrington helped to co-host an hour or two of the New Year's Eve special we do each year. Rugged Evolution has just been a big part of our success, and we owe them a great deal. So, when we were deciding to launch AfroLock Magazine, and how it all came about, you know, Michael, you know this story. We really didn't expect, you know, when I had the concept to create a magazine, I said, okay, well, I've got a lot going on. You guys know I have my own hair products. You guys know I do live shows. I've got different events happening. You know, I produce a whole bunch of stuff. We produce our radio shows and stuff. I said, I'll wait till next year. I've been 2024. Well, I started doing some preparation, some design work to kind of, you know, what we call concept covers and concept ideas and things to kind of gauge how it would be received. And Dakota, I have to tell you, we were bowled over with the response of that being released out. To say that we were going to do a magazine in 2024. That's how it happened. We were just, I just thought maybe, okay, next year I'll get to it, and that'll be that. Right. And Michael, and you know, you were out there with us along this journey, and we were just bowled over. We were bowled over. It was just, my work was being shared everywhere. And, you know, and I really have to say, and the work hadn't even, you know, I hadn't even put my pinky bow in it yet. Wow. Pretty much. I still haven't. You know, no, because I do. And Michael, you share with everybody the, what you've come to know. Give Dakota a little bit of, you've been with me for a couple years now. What would you like Dakota to know most about our work and what we do? So she can get an understanding too. What would you like to say? Wow. Wow. Dakota, we cover hair beauty and community here on the Hair Radio Morning Show. And the beautiful thing about what we do, we just reach out, and we touch people, and we help people's lives. And Carrie is such an inspirational person that he comes up with these ideas, and he just jumps on them. And you have to get on the train with Carrie Hines. If you don't get on the train, you're going to get left. So myself and Nicole Marie, our co-host, we have learned when Carrie Hines comes up with an idea, we already have our bags packed, all we're waiting for is when does the train leave the station? We don't need to know anything else. If Carrie says a good idea, we go, yep, uh-huh, we're ready to go. And, you know, with the magazine, the magazine has been so beautiful. When you look at the covers on the magazine, and we had a little privy looking at when he was designing the covers, and myself and Nicole Marie, we were just blown away just with the covers. And then the articles. And then I especially love the article that you guys had in the magazine. I mean, I read it a few times. I loved the pictures, the layout. I just, I loved it with the Robert's evolution. I just loved it. Thank you. When you're talking to the writer, Ms. Dakota Collingwell is the writer. Oh, I know. I couldn't wait, Carrie. When you told me Dakota was going to be on, I just could not wait. I was just jumping at the bit just to meet her because it was just so, it just blew me away. What you did with that article, it just blew me away. Yeah. I love it.

"And it really, the story came to life because the sister, who was a New York City DJ that we all know here, I remember very well, brought this story to life. Now, Doris herself was, you know, you can guys can Google her whole thing out there, but I think, we lost her along the way, but I think she saw the success of it inside the theater. Right. You know, so that was really good, and she made it a while after that. So okay, so here's the deal. It was, okay, last chance. You want to take one last chance? Are you ready to just, what does it carry? Oh, I'm ready for you to tell. Okay, all right, all right, all right. I teased it enough. I had my guess, but I don't think I'm correct, so I'm ready for you. Okay, well that's okay. Let me tell you, it's no problem. Now, of course, Dionne Warwick has been on our show. You can see her picture everywhere. She's like a four or five-time Grammy Award winner, as you guys know. She is the cousin to superstar singer Whitney Houston, just an incredible artist, and she was a big pop star in her own right, one of the biggest in the world as well, who's had great songs. We know her from the We Are the World record with Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Zina Turner, and the list goes on. Yeah, we're talking about a superstar, and for us to be able to have her on our broadcast took us to a whole new level. Well, I had, as you guys know, I've told this story about having the chance to interview Dionne's earlier, and Dee Dee, I had interviewed two times, and just she, I never will forget her voice, because it sounded so much like Dionne's speaking voice, and it just was always with me. I still hear the way exactly she sounded, which is really, that doesn't happen all that much, but in this case, it really does. So when I got a chance to interview Dionne, of course, before the interview started and off mic, I said, you know, I interviewed your sister Dee Dee. I said twice, and she thought it was just so remarkable, and I said, yeah, I most certainly did. It was just a lovely, lovely interview. She was just fantastic, and so the two that I interviewed, of course, are Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick.

"You're about to wrap season two. You've done about a close to a hundred, I think you've already hit a hundredth mark on the radio shows of your own program. It's so unbelievable. Wow, yes. And so, Michael, I think about what we do. Of course, I help the hair and beauty folks with promotions all over the world. And who would have thought that we would have also helped the veterans, you know. Wow, yeah, that's true. That this would be part of my journey. Yeah, but you've made it part of my journey, sir. So, it's been great. So, listen, we're just getting things going here on this morning. It's Friday morning, August 11th of 2023. I've got so much to share. Again, coming up in the eight o'clock hour, not spotlight hour, we have a wonderful, wonderful lady who, like I said, she is doing some big things out there. She's become a big part of Acrolos magazine. She's a regular columnist in that magazine. We're going to find out what this all means to her and the work that she does for Rugged Evolution. Dear Tare and so much more. And we've got to shout out Arrington and everybody who's over there working hard. We just appreciate them so much. You know how we feel about Rugged Evolution. So, listen, I think we've got a few things. Why don't we take a little bit of a music break and then we'll be back. Remember, I'm playing my favorite songs today, you know, because we all play funny songs out there, Michael. But I think today we'll play my song. Sounds great, sounds like a plan. So, yeah, so we're doing great. And what we're going to do, Dakota, when you hear my voice out there, if you're listening now and you've bowled into our radio show, we want to get ready and introduce you to our fans. Press one on your phone and we will see if we can get you on the air, everybody else. I started playing a little bit of Amy Winehouse, you guys know that. And here's one of my favorite songs from this, Amy. Stay with us, we'll be back. He left no time to regret, kept his dick wet with his same old same bed. Me and my head high and my tears dry, get home without my guy. You went back to what you knew, so far removed from all that we went through. And I have to let the trouble track, my odds are stacked, I go back to black. We only said goodbye, we were undone upon the dime. You go back to her, I go back to, I go back to us. I love you much, it's not enough, you love glow and I love glow. And life is like a pipe, and I'm a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside. We only said goodbye, we were undone a hundred times. You go back to her, I go back to us. We only said goodbye, we were undone a hundred times. You go back to her, I go back to us. Black, black, black, black, black. We only said goodbye, we were undone a hundred times. You go back to her, I go back to us. We only said goodbye, we were undone a hundred times. You go back to her, I go back to us. Listen, let us kind of jump in on this, because this is something that I noticed just, you know, recently. I'm kind of been in this mindset, Nicole Marie, about black theater, black theater, yes. You know, because I've grown up here, you know, I live in New York City, we have Broadway, I've been to New York City, I've been to New York City, I've been to New York City, I've been to New York. Yeah, but it kind of started back when I was a kid. It started back when I was a kid. I always used to be very much wanting to write plays, and I even tried out for the School of the Performing Arts, great, like in high school and all that kind of stuff. Like the kind of show that the TV show Fame was based on. Yeah, I'll see you guys. Well yeah, so did I, so I'll see you on my audition and all that another time, but let me just tell you this. I was always influenced by what we have contributed, being African-American, to the landscape of theater, and I had no idea about this. I had just uncovered a fact that I was really surprised about, and you guys may, you may know some of this already. You may have seen the play out there yourself, but there was a play that I went to called Mama I Wanna Sing, and yeah, and it was by a lady, I want to say Vi Hickinson, I think her name is just, okay, just an incredible, it was about her actual sister, who I didn't even know this was a real performer, a singer named Doris Troy, and I just happened to be watching TV the other day, and I saw Marilyn McCool and Billy Davis Jr. on a commercial promoting some classic songs, and one of those was the big hit by the singer Doris Troy. So Doris Troy, I remember that name from the play Mama I Wanna Sing, we had a musical, and I said let me just google Doris Troy and see who is Doris Troy, and as it turns out, I had no idea that she sang with none other than Dionne Warwick, Sissy Houston, and Dee Dee Warwick.

"When we get to 900, that means we have 100 exact shows to go, and 100 shows is not a lot. No, it's not. And we're gonna count down those 100 shows, and we're gonna count them down from, because once we get to 900, and I said that we would play, go back into our vaults once we got to 900, and really kind of go over some of the things that we covered here from show number one, all the way through show number 900. So this is, it's exciting. Yes, it really is, Terry. Very exciting. Yeah, I'm very, very pleased. There are no words to say, Terry. I mean, we have just pushed that envelope. I mean, to get to 1,000 shows, and just, like you say, even going back, and that's a great idea, going back and just looking at the classic head radio morning shows. You know, the big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, minutes here. Right. And, Michael, we have, you know, and I can really say this, the show has been a chronicle of Black culture. We are at, today, show number 878. So each show is three hours. So we are the most prolific of anybody in hair and beauty broadcasting in the world. But what really jumps out at me is that I have been here working in our studio at this desk for 878 mornings. 878 mornings. Wow. With everybody. My alarm goes off at 4. The show starts at 6. And so in the block of that time, I'm preparing my day and yours, looking at what music we'll play, what is the conversations, what's going to drive the conversations to make sure that everybody's days start in the most positive way possible. And then if that's not enough, we look at some of the biggest news stories. I often think back, you know, when I'm listening to the hair radio morning show, after we wrap at 9 o'clock New York time, I go back and listen to the day's broadcast. So, you know, a little later in the morning or early afternoon, I'm washing dishes, doing housework, I'm listening back to the broadcast to see if there was anything we could maybe improve upon or change up or whatever. Right. And sometimes, most of the time, I just love the music that we play in the show and it's just great to hear it pop up again. Oh yeah, very much so. So, but I think that, can I say, oh my gosh, yeah, so many people were alive when we started this show. We started the show in like the morning version in January, on January 5th of just the morning show version, just morning. And so, it's been an incredible time. It averages about a hundred shows per year, but I skipped almost an entire year. Michael, we skipped almost, we went like 11 months. I took a long break away from broadcasting. I remember that. And, you know, when I look back, I'm like, well, gee, how on the earth did I make it? I don't know how to, because the radio shows helped to drive all of what we do financially and otherwise. So, I was just thinking, I'm like, I don't even remember, but I must have had so many other incredible things going on that it was just crazy. So, listen, I believe that we have one of our incredible new contacts who's going to be joining us at about eight. I think she's scheduled to be with us about eight o'clock or so. She's an important part of our brand new magazine called AfroLock Magazine. And we're going to talk to her about that. And also, just the fact that it's my birthday radio show today, my birthday celebration. My birthday actually is tomorrow, guys, but we're celebrating right here today. So, we're going to have a great time. Coming up at eight o'clock this morning, New York time, it's been about 13 minutes or so, and you'll get a chance to meet Ms. Dakota. So, I'm super excited. We're going to have a great time. Michael, yeah, so Michael, we have to talk about the Vet Talk radio show that you host here on Tuesday mornings at 830.

"Yeah, I tell you, I was watching the clip with the Golden Girls. Okay. So for you guys to go way back to the 80s, there was the TV show, the Golden Girls with Betty White and all of them. Well, Betty White played the real dumb character and rose nylon. And there was the author, the big tall kind of managed woman. And the author was telling her, she was thinking back at the table, how she was hanging out with her girlfriends at the school. You know, the author is much older with her gray hair. And she's like, and when I got back to my car, she was telling rose nylon at the table. It was just she and rose. And she says to Rose, yes, I looked in the rear view mirror and I was trying to figure out who, what did she say? I looked in the rear view mirror and was wondering who that lady was looking back and rose with her real dumb. So she had no idea that she was speaking metaphorically or whatever you call it. And Dorothy was like, it was me. She was talking about herself. And you don't even know where the time goes, guys. You have no idea where the time goes. You just look up and day up. But I love it. I do. It's a big blessing. And to be able to do what you love to do, that's the truth, yes. And I think I receive that every day. So it's a blessing to be doing what we do and to doing what you love to do. How many folks can sing that? So it's a special show today. I have just put on a couple of little things that we're going to be rolling in with some good stuff today. And so much love. Let me see if I can get Michael Hopkins. And do I get a special birthday Hope of the Day today, Nicole Marie? Well, let me just say the Hope of the Day today is so fitting. So fitting for you, Carrie. So, so fitting. I can't wait. Well, tell everybody what is Hope of the Day all about. Nicole Marie, take it away. Thank you, Carrie. Well, first of all, hope is the belief that our future can be better than our past. And it's so important because it gives our lives meaning. The hope gives us that positive expectation that change can and will occur in our lives. And I want to share the Hope of the Day for all of the fans of the Hair Radio Morning Show. And this moment is courtesy of the book called High Hopes by Patrick Lindsay. So every day I just share an inspirational way from the book. So the Hope of the Day, very special day for Carrie Hines, is live your truth. Mold your life around your beliefs, not the other way around. Lose your preconceptions and your truth will emerge. Live your own truth, not someone else's truth. So fitting for you, Carrie Hines. That is so fitting for all of us. It is something that definitely resonates. I think you have to, you know, be the truth. And I think that's a bigger thing. I think if you are the truth, I think you will be able to live that truth very easily. Don't try to be anyone else. No, don't try to be anyone else. You know, just do and be yourself. You know, don't look for others to make you happy. Focus on the things that are important to you. And you will get where you're going. And that's really, and I love the Hope of the Day. We've got to have you put these hopes into a new book. Okay, move over, Patrick. Patrick, hold me. We've got to do that. That is just fabulous, Nicole Marie. Just fabulous. And I just want to say thank you to both you and Michael Hopkins. And good morning again, Michael Hopkins, to you as well. Happy Midshow. Good morning and happy Midshow. And that was dynamite, Nicole Marie. I like that. I really did because it makes sense. Oh, yes, it makes sense. It really does because that's what happens with people. We get caught up in the madness. So true. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Well, I just want to thank you both because you've helped me to do big things. You really have. We've done big things together. We may not even realize it, but we really have. We have done some amazing things. We really have, and we've got more that's coming down the pike. There's so much more. I'm so excited. And I just cannot wait, Carrie and Nicole Marie. I can't wait. I am pumped up and excited. I can't contain myself. You know, it's beautiful. I work on the Salon TV network and at four o'clock this morning, I'm working on it, looking at it. The moment I woke up and I put the TV on the Salon TV network, I just turned on the TV and the Salon TV network is playing. And who is it? There's Michael Hopkins again sitting on camera. Oh, yes. Yes. I love it, Carrie and Nicole Marie. I love it. I love it. Yes. You guys are going to be so impressed out there. I see, you know, you know, guys, I see this growing the same way that oak trees and redwood trees grow. That's the way I see what we're doing here at the Hair Radio Morning Show with you, Carrie. That's what I see. We just don't stop. No, we don't plan on stopping. So, Carrie, those of us out here that are listening to this show, if you don't get on the train with us, we're on the Excella train right now. You don't have to get on the train. You can stay on the regular train. Yes, that's the best train for those of us who don't know. It is the best train. Those of you who want to be on the slow train or the short bus or whatever you want to call it. You're more than happy to stay there. Right. You want to be on the local? Yes. And they want to hit all the stops before they get to the destination. You are more than welcome to do that. Oh, my God. Every two minutes. Oh, yeah, Carrie, I remember that. I remember that as a teenager back in Philly going to high school. And I had to catch the local train. The local subway. And it just stopped everywhere and anywhere. And you had to get off at a certain point. And if you didn't, then you're going the wrong direction. Now, you've got to turn around and come back. I'm too old for that now. No, we're going all the way. We are going all the way here. That's right. And if they got something going on with the Martians or the moon people, guess what, Carrie and Nicole Marie, they can get a salon stick off. So I'm sure Amazon will deliver to them. Exactly. Well, I've got to tell you guys, this has just been it's been just wonderful. And so we're going to take our music break. And when we come back, we've got a lot more to talk about. But I want to tell you about some of my earlier birthdays that we celebrated right here on the broadcast. And just so much more to get. We're going to have some good fun. Just some great things. We talked about some music breaks and all of that kind of stuff. And some of my favorite songs right here on the Hair Radio Morning Show. So why don't we go ahead. We've got to have a little bit of Rihanna. Let's have a little bit of Rihanna and we'll be back. OK. Back to the rainy day. Rain man attack. You have my heart and we'll never be worlds apart. Maybe in magazines, but you'll still be my star. Maybe cars in the dark. You can't see shiny cars and that's when you need me there. That you are always there. Because when the sunshine will shine together. Told you I'll be here forever. Said I'll always be your friend. Took a long summer to get out to the end. Now that it's raining more than ever. Know that we'll still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella. You can stand under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Under my umbrella. Fancy things will never come in between. You're part of my entity. Here for infinity. When the world has took its part. When the world has dealt its cards. If the hand is hard. Together we'll mend your heart. You can run into my arms. It's okay. Don't be alarmed. Come into me. There's no need to stand between us. We're gonna let the rain pour. I'll be all you need to know. It's raining. Ooh baby it's raining. Baby come into me. Come into me. It's raining. Ooh baby it's raining. You can always come into me. All right, it's Friday morning, it's August 11th of 2023, it's voucher number 878, Michael Hopkins. Wow. 878. I just don't know what to say on that note. That's a lot of shows. That's a lot. That's a real show. That's a heck of a lot of shows. Yeah. And we are discharging for that 1,000. Exactly, and with that in mind, I was thinking that once we hit number 900, that we would focus on a lot of the classic interviews. There's so many, so many wonderful things that have been said and played on our network that we really have not replayed, and I thought it would be good to go into those vaults, kind of like what Geraldo Rivera did way back in the day, and dig up some of those old interviews and so much content and kind of mine it again, and we air it for you guys. Sure. And we've got, once we get to 900 shows, we are almost there. In a couple days, we'll be at number 900. Probably, I'm gonna give you an idea when, this is August, I'll say by about October, we should be hitting the 900 month at the latest, so September, October. So once we get to 900, which is a lot, just even today, the number 900 is huge.

"Waze Hair and Body and I love the hair radio show. Hello everybody, I'm Valerie from Validate Your Beauty. I am giving a shout out to the hair radio morning show, Keri Hines. Hey everybody, it's Friday morning, August the 11th, 2023, it's about 7-12 in the morning New York time. I am bringing to the line Nicole Marie from down in Water Valley, Mississippi, the queen of the morning. Good morning, Nicole Marie. Good morning, good morning. Happy Ms. Jo. Happy Ms. Jo. Yes. And happy Friday. Yes, we heard all from you this morning on the show. Oh yeah. But it's great to have you Ms. Jo. Yes, I said, boy, Nicole Marie is in there this morning. All right. Yes. It was great. Yes. It was great. I think we heard you on everything. Yeah, it was really fantastic. You know, I have to say this is my wonderful birthday celebration show, tomorrow is my actual birthday. I'm on the 2nd of 2023, Saturday morning. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Yes. Thank you. Thank you so much. So much appreciated. And just, you know, we're doing it up. We really are just grateful to God to be here another day, let alone another year. And just, you know, we're doing it up. Let me see if I can get Michael into our convo this morning. Michael Hopkins, wake up. It's a big celebration today. Michael Hopkins, Michael Hopkins, we're going to just wake up Michael Hopkins today. Okay, we're going to give him a second. You know, you cannot surprise Michael Hopkins. You know, you got to get down there. So Michael Hopkins, if you tuned in to the Hair Radio Morning Show, get it up, get it on together because we're going to be just, we're going to be bugging in just a few minutes. But no, I'm thrilled. We've been working diligently on this new Salon TV network, which is so beautiful. And I'm so excited. Let me tell you, I am beyond excited because I'll be able to utilize all my skill sets. So all of our design stuff will be able to be put through. So, you know, we're going to be creating videos and documentaries and commercials and all kinds of amazing content that will be on our union's network. And then if that's not enough, we've got some other big, big things going on. We're going to talk about just a bit. So exciting. Yeah. I'm grateful. Yes. It's just such a good feeling and, you know, and we're just trying our best to do what we do best. That's it. And Carrie, like I always say, you know, everything that someone needs is right here at the Hair Radio Morning Show. You know, we just check off so many boxes, whatever your business needs. Oh, yes. I think I still laugh to myself because I remember Nicole Marie said to me once a long time ago, she's like, you know, when you think of something, you create it and then boom, there it is. And that's very true. And it's not a long time after you speak of it, Carrie. I mean, you move, you move and there it is. There it is. That's exactly correct. And because I have one person I gave a new idea to two days ago who was supposed to help us to pull the idea together. And she kind of went radio silence, they call it, you know, stuff like that, where you cannot, you know, and I look and this is why our community, we never get anywhere. That's so true. We don't get anywhere. We don't know how to. Oh, my God. We have support each other. Exactly. We don't know how to do stuff like that. You know, we can't come together to make it happen. I don't know what's going on. We have so much talent and intelligence to bring everything together. But we can't work together to make it happen. Nope. Don't want to. Nope. And I mean, when I think of ideas, I go right straight to work. I begged one, I called one lady because I said, well, let me see if I can get her. And this is good for you guys to listen out there. I said, let me see if I can get her to participate with our advertisements so that we can drum up, get these programs, and create opportunities for everybody. This lady, I begged and begged and begged, and of course she promises and then nothing. And this is what you get. You get this all the time. But that's what happens. You get folks who think that you are benefiting. Right. Think you're one up on them. And they try to sabotage you. Or they just try and steal your ideas and try to make it happen for themselves. But that never works because it's your idea. It's your passion. It's your vision. So somebody can never copy what, you know, an individual's vision. It's never going to turn out the same. Yeah, they don't understand that quite yet. But you know what? On the flip side, Nicole Marie, if you have a couple of good people around you, that's why I'm very cautious about the folks that I connect with on that level. Right. I really am. Because a lot of folks, let me tell you, a lot of them do want to kind of, they try to inch their way in, but you get, there's a certain feeling, and honestly, okay, and I really mean this, putting my hand up to God, to all of you listening, everywhere, I get a certain feeling, I get a certain feeling, a little tinge on the inside. And I trust that. I don't care what you say out of your mouth, you can be singing pure gold out of your mouth. It's all about action. I don't care about this. You think I care, and you think people think they don't. What tells us whether or not we can trust you, whether Carrie Hines can trust, what you say is on what you do. Exactly. That tells me whether or not I don't even try, it just tells me, it sends me a clear message, Carrie, on this one, you can't trust, and they promise you this, and so few bottles of sunshine until the cows come home. But here's what they really are trying to do. All right. And that's just the way my mind works. So I really... I'm so glad it has to be that way. No, I think that you have no idea, no clue. They really do. I wish to you how many people you can just see right through them at one lady. Oh, you know, I'm going to come up for your birthday, and I'm going to spend some time, this and that, and take you. Then... Doesn't happen. I knew the moment that this lady uttered those words. She didn't mean any of it. No, very, very clearly. Oh, yeah. Wow. I know instantly. I know instantly. And this is the kind of stuff that I'm talking about. And so I, for me, I try to surround myself with people whom I feel I can trust. Not that we don't all make mistakes, and I'm far from perfect, but I try to be who I am, I try to be as sincere as I can. I try to do things the right way. Do what you say you're going to do. I try. And the things that I do, I create and try to do all of this so that everybody around us who are in our orbit can win. Right. It's that simple. I don't sit and try to plot what somebody's doing over there and feeling what they're doing and waiting and trying to take... Well, you don't have time, Terry. Well, there are folks that I know, a few of them, who can find the time to do it. Is there a main gift that you have that is creativity, and you're so busy focusing on what you have the vision to do, you don't have time to look at what other people are doing? That's your gift. And I couldn't, and to be honest with you, I couldn't figure out, even if I tried to look at other people's stuff, which I never even have the desire, not even close to the desire. First, I don't need to look at what they do, that's number one. Number two, I could care less what they do. I wish them all the best for what they are doing. See, that's what I mean. Iron shop sharpens iron. So I want to work with folks who are working and motivated like I am. That's what moves me. Exactly. I'm not looking for some blister, some blister who doesn't know how to do anything and waiting for you to come up and generate ideas, and those blisters try to latch onto you. Oh my God. And think you don't know and think you don't see what they're trying to do. Oh, they really think that. Yeah, it is so awful. Yeah, so awful. Yeah, and I just, I just try my best to stay on point with this business. And I'm excited. Yes. Well, my dear family, I get a chance to see everybody tomorrow at the latest. I'm so happy about that. Yeah, it'll be really nice. I'm going to try to get down early on the train and then make it on back up to New York. Celebrate your birthday. Yeah, well, I do that every day. It's going to be a little bit longer of a celebration though. Yes, I'm really, really good on that. But, but I'm telling you. And then you'll be with your family as well. So that's different here. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, this is true. This is my family. This is true. And they gave me an award years ago. So the other day, now she was supposed to come and visit a few months back. Never came and visited. But anyway, I look at my phone just yesterday. I think it was a day before yesterday. And they had gotten me a birthday award. I've never heard of you. A birthday award. So sweet. It is. I said, okay, thank you so much. Yeah, so I guess they'll give it to me on Saturday. So I already have this place right in my display case. Oh my God, boy. So it'll be fun. And yeah, but my focus is to come back here to New York and just work. I want to work on the Salon TV network. I want to work on all these incredible ventures that we're doing. And businesses work on the play. Work on the theater show. Work on the photo shoots and all of that. Always so much. Yeah. Well, there's a lot to be done. There is. And you're killing it. Much is expected. And we have that. We've got those traits. And my favorite thing is the Salon TV network, the magazines that will be popping out. And I'm so excited to release the new magazine. I'm so excited. Yes. I just can't wait. Yes, indeed. Can't wait to see that coming. And so, yeah. So that's going to be really, really cool. And then the better quality that we're able to get in terms of production. So I'll be working on a beautiful studio. That's what my goal is. A beautiful studio. Yes, indeed. Where you can really sit and, you know, whatever it is that you're doing, we're going to have it here as much as we can. And we'll start somewhere and we're going to just continue to build. That's the secret is having a great display space. Yeah. Right. So that's what we kind of want to do. And I'm real happy about that. And I'm just happy to be doing what I'm doing. It's such an honor. I left the job 10 years ago, the regular nine to five in finance. And here's where I've been, parked. And it's not been easy. I looked in the mirror and said, oh, man, where did this mirror come from? And I just, yeah. And I just have to say, wow.

It's time that you hand that shop over to somebody else and and you know commit fully You know, we got to the point where I wasn't gonna I was not going to sell the salon and then hope to meet My income goals, you know, it had to be solid So we decided that before I was even going to think about selling the salon I would double the income that I was making at the salon And you know when we when we hit that point it was time so that's where we're at and June was a Kind of a recovery month. "Oh my we were just kids We were literally kids and we knew That we didn't want to we just didn't want to live in that poverty anymore There's just we knew that our parents loved us. We were never unloved. We knew that we were loved But we knew that they couldn't help us because they only knew what they knew and so we decided we had to go beyond that we had to get out of how we were living and Do better for our children and change their lives and in that process, you know, our children have no idea Our two older ones do our older children We have our daughter's 26. Our son is 25 and then we have a daughter who is 20 The 26 year old and the 25 year old they can remember the They can remember being poor Terry. They can remember the you know, you have this much money to get all of your clothes Let's see. How can we do that? You know, they can remember that The youngest one does not she she has grown up in a totally different environment We always say the the youngest or the two oldest They they remember building businesses and and being broke Building a business and the youngest one. She just remembers the success of the businesses Well, I always say there's a benefit in both sides There is there is I think we might have scared we might have scared business ownership out of the first two You've got to tell us your husband's first name we got at least be able to shout him out this morning. Oh He is my best friend. Of course the love of my life. His name is Josh Josh oh He is He is the he is my partner in everything You know, he he does do voiceover a little bit with me But in every business that I have ever done We tackle it hand in hand for sure whether he is whether he is seen or not Even at the salon. We always called the salon our family farm Because you know My husband was the guy that helped me with my books and he was the repairman And he was the guy that would paint and he was the guy, you know Even all my employees, you know, they knew We ran the business together. Even if he wasn't there on a daily basis We absolutely run all of our businesses. We run them together You know what you guys you just have it you have it together You know what, I mean However, you got there You know Maybe if you had all those You didn't have such humble beginnings or you didn't have things you you might be different people and your whole lives would be different I just think that you you guys are just remarkable. I love your story I'm just blown away. Thank you. I really didn't My chair I had I told you there's the loading question No idea, you know, this is why it is so Important it is so important to share everybody's story You know, yeah each story from each person because everybody does have a story to tell and I can totally relate to what you Say and you are going to connect with so many people Who are out there and listening to you right now With this and I just think it's incredible. So we've got to remind everybody The name of your business again and how they can catch up with you because I think your phones It's just gonna be ringing off the hook I think the people are going to be Contacting you for voiceover work to help their businesses grow and all that wonderful good stuff So tell everybody again how they can catch up with you Well, my name is Angela Clark, you can always google Angela Clark voice artist But my website is Clark vo services comm and if you go to the website It will direct you to my social media pages. You can message me on the website. You can email me I'm pretty easy to get in contact with so any way that you're comfortable you go ahead and reach out Yes, and of course you can always connect to Angela right here through her family at the hair radio so Yes now speaking of which I have to say one of One of my favorite favorite voiceover announcements of Angela's that we play here all The time and the fans of the hair radio morning show know this announcement I've had so many guests who've been on our show and they always reference it and it goes something like this and I can't do Angela's what Angela has my own thing Let me just say that her own special gifts that that we just so appreciate here But it cracks me up because it's an ending says you hold up. You haven't made it until you've made it to I Don't even remember doing that one. That is so awesome. I'm gonna have to listen for that one. I love it It is just one of my favorites and so many. Oh, that is so cool So really your commercials and announcements are so much fun to do Well, I have just thoroughly enjoyed them here so now what's next for You and the company Well so I I got to a point with Clark vo services where it was actually Costing me money to leave the house and go to the salon So I did have to decide at some point you know which one I was going to really put my head down and dig into because You know, I made a good living at the salon And I loved my clientele and and I loved my stylist that worked with me and we were like a family there So it was a lot of tears But I knew I knew I was making the right decision but as of June 1st this year I Did um, I had approached one of my stylists and asked if she would be interested in taking over my baby and She of course We both cried I think for weeks we we cried and laughed and hugged and whatever but so she took over the shop and I have Decided, you know as of June 1st, I just own Clark vo services I am no longer the owner of the swirl shop salon.

"So okay now here's the question Who pours this into you? How did you learn all this because this is not something that is just going to be a natural thing So how did you get inspired? Oh Carrie I'll tell you what I That is such a loaded question my husband and I My husband and I both come from very poor backgrounds his Both of us, you know We both grew up role settings You know no college educations in our families No college education for us. You know, we were we both felt like at some point you have to break that cycle of poverty and that poverty thinking and we both decided that we were going to Scratch and claw our way out and we decided that we were going to find mentors We were going to find mentors Like people that had a successful marriage We were going to find people that were Awesome parents that they had the children to show for it, right? Just because you have a successful marriage does not mean you're super awesome parent or vice versa so we found those and then we found people that were successful in business and Some of those people I mean we literally had to just Beg them to just spend a couple of minutes with or become some kind of in some kind of servant position You know, what can I do for you? How can I help you? Can I anything to spend time with you to be near you whether I had to outright tell them that or just somehow put myself in their circles, but I targeted people that I wanted to learn from and I took every opportunity I could to be around them and then lastly honestly is Reading we studied and studied everything Marriage books parenting books business book, you know, we studied hard and we were broke for years But we we did work our way out of that, you know My husband and I we were 17 when we got married.

Don't forget afro lock magazine calm We appreciate you checking it out and subscribing and again the hair radio morning show. We love you Hi everybody this is Queen Treet and I'm starting out this hair radio show with Terri Crystal Gones Bond of the Sway Hair and Body and I love the hair radio show. Hello everybody I'm Valerie from validate your beauty I am giving a shout out to the hair radio morning show Terri Heim Yes, my name is Angela Clark I am the owner of Clark VO Services and it is a voiceover company. So it is It started out with just my voice But I am an entrepreneur I've always had that entrepreneurial spirit And so that was the reason why? from the very beginning We chose to VO services rather than just promoting Angela Clark voice artists because it has always been my goal to be able to work With other voice artists and and build a business that was established enough to offer More than just my voice So that is actually the next phase of my business now that I've established myself really well as a voice artist You know, I work with companies all around the world Singapore and India I work with clients from those countries actually on a daily basis I Work with literally around the world. It is it is just Exciting I love I love working with clients from around the globe Big little mom-and-pop businesses to corporate, you know corporations. It is just Every day is a brand new adventure, you know, and like I said originally it was it was just my voice I've established that pretty well and So the next phase is to add more voice talent to the company, which is you know something We're super excited about here Absolutely. Well, listen, I am excited to have you here today because there are a couple things I also wanted to mention that you are also in the hair world And at least you made a big big splash in the hair world literally And you've done some some great things and we're gonna talk a little bit about that too We really are but but I don't want to gloss over this because you said Clark vo services That's the name of the business for the voiceover work. And so this is helpful to folks and You know just in mentioning that you were going to be on our show You know, I'm talking to folks and just saying, you know, Angela's coming to the show was so excited You know That is really how we grow is happy clients spreading the word, you know Like any business like the hair business for sure, you know That's how you grow your clientele one happy client spreads the word. It's the same thing for me. Happy clients spread the word. So Well now and you know I was gonna say we are on of course, there's Clark vo services calm But I am on all social media Twitter Instagram Facebook link YouTube I Twitter is I mean you can google my name and you'll find it Clark vo services calm has the links to all of our social media pages Yes, they can come yeah and YouTube is always a really fun place to carry. We I am I put on YouTube I post Project clips. I love to advertise my clientele So as long as they let me I will I will spread the word for their business as well You know, I'm in promoting myself. I promote them. I love to go hand in hand with that And of course, I do lots of character work as well. So I always post that kind of stuff. So my youtube channel is informative and Somewhat hilarious at times, but we have a lot of fun on YouTube Speaking of which you also do something where our fans over on our when we have our 24-hour radio that complain We often will dig up some of your old podcast and I hope you you know You you continue with it because we just love it so much where you are sharing all kinds of advice And just talking to people about little different doobie-dabs and things and I just found it very intriguing So, please You know when you put together some new things or want to dig up any more please feel free to do so so we can get them on out there across because Since we've last worked together. We are now also shouting out the folks over at upscale magazine radio They're on 24-7 with their own Wonderful format and we're so proud and excited so you get to play everywhere. So yes Yes, you absolutely that is awesome yeah, I started that podcast because I Like I said, I'm an entrepreneur, you know And I have that entrepreneurial spirit and I I love to teach people about building business You know once you have those skills whatever business you decide to build the skills Apply and So that podcast was a great. I ended up I ended up teaching I'm teaching a class that is for voice artists right now but my subject is those business skills that they need to build this one to build this business and so that's that's really where the Entrepreneurial spirit, so Yeah, I'll have to let you know when we when we add more content to that Yes, please do I really mean that that is huge for us Also now listen, we mentioned at the top of this that you Were salon owner. So I'm gonna talk a little bit about that. So So tell us about your career and the hair industry, you know, you can't That's right, that is why you are so near and dear to my heart I did start out as a hair salon owner I went to I went to beauty school at 30 years of age Terry because I had all intentions of I went to beauty school to get my license to be a salon owner I never had any intention of always working for somebody else It was always to be an owner and I just needed I just needed license to do that And I had everybody tell me that you could not do that You needed to work for somebody for about good ten years and then you needed to you know Slowly move into that but I knew I knew how to operate I Knew that that my business would be built on me being a good entrepreneur a good business owner and giving my Stylist the absolute best place to work now. I'm in Pennsylvania. So we are not allowed to do booth rental So every every goal that worked in my shop Yeah the same way, okay, so every stylist that worked for me literally worked for me They were my employees and so it was always my goal to make my salon the absolute Best place for them as the business owner I always took that very personally like I wanted my stylist to be so happy in my shop That they never wanted to go anywhere else because as a salon owner You know the hardest part is it's so destructive to a business when you're stylist you put all that money and effort and time and The building their clientele and then they take it and go somewhere else. Well, you know, that's destructive So I can honestly say my employees Loved working for me because I always put their needs first, you know, I would if they Anything within reason if they wanted to try it, you know I would I would figure out a way that we would try that and sometimes that made the shop money and sometimes it didn't But overall I had employees that literally would not go anywhere else I was comfortable with that. I knew that I could go on vacation and feel that the shop is just fine I always I have this theory as any business owner Should have for their business, but I always trained my stylist to I Wanted to be able to walk away I wanted to be able to walk away for a time and feel comfortable enough that the shop was going to run on its own so 99% of the things that I did as a business owner In combination with all the employees it could literally be taken care of without me and I thought I want I did that on purpose because I thought it was my responsibility to myself and my family if something would happen to me and I'd be in the hospital or you know sick and couldn't come In I wanted the shop to still be able to run itself. And so I don't think they even realized it But between all of them they could completely run the business and that was I encourage every owner Set yourself up that way so it is not Totally a hundred percent dependent on you don't carry that burden don't Business ownership is hard enough. You know, don't don't have all that weight on yourself You know what? I'm there's my preaching moment Like you were delivering that message right the camera I will pass the offering plate around I Just kidding. I'm just kidding, but I'll tell you I Really have to say that is the best advice and I'll tell you something else I've only and you know that I've done thousands of interviews This is not a secret But what amazes me is in all of those interviews that I've done I could literally count on one hand How many times someone has told me about their employees I Have moved it is so rare that they have even acknowledged their employees I'm telling you. I wish I were making this up. I already know that what you're telling me is a 100% big fact that it is it's got to be exactly what you said because you Apparently did create an environment like that because you've talked that you talked about your employees So that is my employees were my business I love it. I love it your employees build your business and I know I know that it's not However, how everybody thinks about ownership. I know that's not the first thing they think of and and I know that I Set the environment right in my salon the environment was my attitude and my Personality that is the biggest thing that we bring to our salon as a salon owner We set the environment and we set the mood we set the tone, right? So so it is Naturally when I was there you have to turn yourself on right you are you love People you love your clients. You love your employees. You have a smile on your face. You're not fake But you because people know that they know when you're fake, but you have a general sense of this is my business and I Appreciate and love the people that enter here whether they work for me or they are a customer of mine and Every single person will genuinely feel that so when you care about the people that work for you They care about you. I really had Very few once I realized that Carrie I mean once I learned to really put their needs first and to care about them as an Individual to care about their families. They knew that they knew that I cared about their children and their spouses And their boyfriend or whatever their partners they care. They knew I cared about them as a person They were the most loyal Loyal employees anybody could ask for and with that they refer other people They're like, you know what you need to come work for Angela It is the best place you can ever think of of working and that's why the business grew to it I'm in a small town, right? I'm in a small town in central, Pennsylvania and It was the largest salon in the area Wow, and I made a very happy healthy income from that salon at one point We had one salon with Four locations Wow And I can and you know, and I just was a I just was a girl who knew how to appreciate people had a strong sense of entrepreneurial skills and drive and Went to school and got my license because I wanted to put that into being a salon owner Wow, well I say this and I really mean it and when I said that you were very smart very savvy very Sophisticated, you know how to you know, you use a lot of just plain common sense type stuff as well Absolutely, and you have a good personality and you kind of stick it out because that's that's really what that's a very the core of entrepreneurship I really believe that you know and you let your personality drive your business and That and and you really figured it out and I'm saying even more close attention I've ever I love the advice and sometimes hey you love and respect others and you give your best carry It doesn't matter what business it is those two things Lead you to success You know what? I Think you were right on time this morning here on the hair radio morning show Literally, I really mean that and it means a great deal.

"Oh Yes, I have I definitely have Summertime is a time where I take time out and go and visit all of my Constituents that are in my ward. So I'll go door to door. I'm talking to them The different events that we do have going on throughout the city over the summer I use that as an opportunity to Just talk to community members to see what's going on And that's that's my time to get feedback now I get it all throughout the year But especially during the summer when people are out there out of about they're spending time with family They're out at the park and I just use that time just to be able to talk with them Now so you go out And in you do you introduce yourself to the community? Constituents well a lot of them I already know But there are some new constituents that have moved into town You know since I was out the last time talking with them, so I just use that time to get to introduce myself and Get to know those that are new and then also just find out what's going on with the constituents that I do already know and just see if they have any bonds and I just make note of all that Absolutely. Well, I appreciate hearing that believe me So for you guys out there who are just shooting in Let me just kind of bring you up to speed on this Nicole Marie who's down in water Valley, Mississippi is an elected official down there as part of your community and so Yes, you get to really make a difference as you said Representing the folks in your area there and I think I tip my head off to you because you're doing the work You're doing the community work. Yeah, and that's what's so important folks always say Carrie What is the hair radio morning show about it is about hair? Beauty and the c-word come that's it community. Yes Yes, you're doing the work Yeah, so I have to turn to Michael Hopkins Michael Was also putting it down in in terms of community being an accredited claims agent I have nicknamed him an ACA Michael Hopkins You have been one of the biggest veteran advocates I've ever known You know helping the veterans rather so what what can you tell us first on what exactly Is an accredited claims agent? Well carrying an accredited claims agent is a person that's appointed by the government ie the officer general counsel for the Office of Veteran Affairs in Washington DC and Basically an accredited claims agent is appointed and they are allowed assist veterans with the prosecution with the starting representing Etc with claims for compensation We are the we are background checked we have to take an extensive test And we are allowed to help veterans file for compensation we can actually represent veterans in different court systems also as accredited claims agents and this is as you pointed out just any old body can be an ACA I know not just no Amazing Absolutely amazing so when you talk about doing the community work Nicole Marie Michael's doing a good job.

I'm Valerie from validate your beauty I am giving a shout out to the hair radio morning show Carrie. Hi I'm Maggie Anderson's I am the creator of the empowerment experiment and Author of our black year my family's year-long stand completely living off of black-owned businesses When we decided to take on this public pledge, we had no idea how hard it would be there was only one black-owned grocery store in all of Illinois and that grocery store closed five months before we finished our year And I have two little girls that means no fresh milk, no fresh meats no fresh produce But I put them through that because we took the stand and we wanted really to do something extreme Out of love for our community to expose how few black businesses there still are to refute negative stereotypes about black-owned businesses and to expose Economic injustice that still persists in America after the year I Decided that I could not go back to corporate. I could not go back to law. I've made this issue of Economic racism and really trying to create economic empowerment in our black community my life the black hair care firms they sustained the civil rights movement Black women created these companies huge thriving companies And we needed that we talked about black Wall Street now because we shine light on what happened in Tulsa Most black neighborhoods were anchored by these black Wall Streets, and if we could bring that back America would be better. I'm not saying bring all the back that would probably be impossible, but we can bring black hair care back There Are great black hair care companies that exist black-owned hair care companies that exist right now and It would be wonderful for in America Just like other groups own their culturally relevant products and industries that the black community Can own the biggest black hair care brands that the black community can own black beauty supply stores and 3% of the beauty supply stores in black neighborhoods and people know people black people know what I'm talking about If you go into a black neighborhood you're gonna see a beauty supply store and they're gonna sell all the black hair care products that only black people use and They are not owned by black people So I've issued the black-owned hair care challenge. Just asking everyday folks to say Hi, my name is Maggie Anderson, and I accept the black-owned hair care challenge Tell the world that from now on I'm gonna buy black hair care products. I'm gonna make sure it's from a black-owned company Nicole Marie Michael Hopkins It is summertime here on the air radio boarding show Afro lock magazine and the L of our amazing fans everywhere We wanted to just check in with Every one of you out there and and I want to start and lead in with you Nicole Marie on Just an incredible summer as it's rolling along yes, so have you taken the time to go out and explore down in Water Valley, Mississippi.

Tech Path Crypto
A highlight from 1197. Elizabeth Warren Demands More Crypto Taxes Pro-CBDC Army vs Stablecoins
"So, Elizabeth Warren up to her antics again, this time using taxes, using CBDC, and many other tools to her disposal to try to take a position against crypto. We're going to be breaking down all of this for you guys today. My name is Paul Baron. Welcome back into Tech Path. I want to get into the first story here. Democrat senators want Treasury, IRS, to pick up the pace on crypto tax rules. So a few things that I want to break down in this article so you kind of know who the players are. I'm going to zoom in on this one. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Robert Casey, and then Richard Blumenthal, all involved in this. The idea is pretty simple. Treasury and IRS have until the end of the year to finalize new rules to help close the estimated $50 billion crypto tax gap. Now, this is something we'll break down because this is not necessarily the real scenario. It's what they're proposing out there. The other thing they want to put in here is, without quick action, your agencies are at risk of failing to meet congressionally mandated deadlines and the implementation of the final rule. We urge that you act swiftly and implement strong crypto tax reporting rules for cryptocurrency brokers. All of this, which we'll get into, one of the things the industry has said has become very antsy waiting on guidance, particularly with regards to the IRS defines a broker. Industry observers have claimed that the broker definition is very broad. We all know that because it could include miners and also software developers. That's another problem that already exists in crypto of who is a broker. And then secondly, or additionally, what are we hoping for? An industry perspective that is updated with the 6045 regulation, which basically gives different qualifications based on type of activity. The other thing they break down is it'll hopefully make it clear that not everyone effectuating a transfer of a digital asset would be subjected to a broker reporting. So this gets into some of the details of when taxes do apply, and we'll show a little bit more about this. The letter, the senatorial letter, comes days after the IRS issued new guidance update in 6045 regarding crypto staking, which is the other part of this that's pretty big, in which the agency ruled that staking income, regardless of the gains are realized, will be taxed as income. So you have to think about that for a second. You're staking ETH, you get ETH in return. You haven't sold ETH, but you're taking that as an income. That is the argument I think that everybody, of course, is up in arms about. If a cash method taxpayer takes stakes cryptocurrency native to a proof of stake blockchain and receives additional units of cryptocurrency as rewards, which is what happens here when the validation occurs, the fair market value of the validation rewards received is included in the taxpayer's gross income. So if you are staking, that's a problem. The interesting thing is that you do not take tax gains if you're putting that in a money market and you're getting paid interest. That's not gains until you exit those kind of scenarios. So this is an interesting aspect of how the IRS and how Elizabeth Warren is really putting pressure on it. Another point I want to get to here. This was coming from the 2021 Infrastructure Investment Employment Act, which is where all this came from. But basically, it said if we do not act quickly, that is, if the Treasury and the IRS do not implement these new rules in a timely manner, we risk missing out on roughly $1 .5 billion in tax revenue for fiscal 2024. At this point, you should not give this chance to tax evaders, which is what they're calling crypto people. And I think this is something that people don't realize just how much taxes are being paid by people in crypto. In fact, countries with the most taxpayers currently in cryptocurrency, United States leading the way, number one, Japan, number two, Germany, United Kingdom, and Austria. So you can kind of see we're already handling this because crypto is like any other really asset out there if you think about it. If you take a gain, if you sell an asset and you take a gain, that's a capital gains tax. And it applies to capital gains rules. Those are the same kind of scenarios that play into it. What I don't necessarily think is going to be popular is for them to continue to reach in to these unrealized gains, like taking unrealized gains and taxing them in any other corporate infrastructure, just not necessarily the model in which this plays out. The other thing that income tax is payable on is you're getting paid in crypto. That's revenue. So you're paying tax on that. You get an airdrop. That's a new asset you've received. Getting taxes on that. Staking rewards. That's the other scenario that plays into this. DeFi interest. Mining rewards and then even referral bonuses. All of those are income taxable at this time. There was a couple of things here in a report from CoinLedger that I want to showcase. And this was really kind of going through the people in their survey of who understood when a taxable event occurs. So 65 % of investors correctly identified that selling cryptocurrency is a taxable event. Now you have to sell it for a profit, of course. If you sell it for a loss, that's not obviously a taxable event. But only 38 % of the investors correctly identified that a crypto -to -crypto trade is a taxable event. So this is still questioning and also it's still not completely clear so that the IRS, but also even your tax preparers understand really what's happening out there in the place. And I think, again, this all goes back down into regulation, which will flow into the tax code and many other aspects. This is kind of interesting right here. This was further from the CoinLedger report. 50 % of non -taxpayers don't report because they haven't made a profit currently in cryptocurrency. You have to remember the last two years, really since 2021, almost anybody in crypto, along with other assets out there, have been in the negative. Right now, haven't made a profit, so you're not going to be paying taxes on that. I didn't know I had to report. Some people said that. I don't understand how to report, 12%, and then I don't want to pay taxes, 7%. So that should have been larger. Government doesn't know about my cryptocurrency. Okay, those are the bad guys right there. So the likelihood is if you guys are watching our show and maybe you're brand new to crypto, it's treated like any other asset class. Doesn't have any really differentiation. It is money. If you're taking it as revenue, if you're taking it as income, if you're taking a sale and getting profit from it, you're going to be able to take taxes at that time. Those are taxable events. The other problem is that it's not like an investment if you do lose money where you get to use that as a tax loss. So that's another problem of how this could. Now you can do some tax loss harvesting, of course, obviously you should get with your own CPA to understand how that works. I want to go to a clip here because the clip will go into a little bit about where, and we're kind of transitioning out of taxes into CBDC, but where Warren stands on CBDCs. Let's know what she said. So that's not so hard on stablecoins. The harder one is what do you think Bitcoin is about? If you think it's about being able to transfer value without having to go through banks, and little side note, I think banks have done a really bad job of a lot of the things they're called on to do. Yeah, the biggest advocates of Bitcoin sound like you. Yeah. Meaning they want to break up these big banks have been terrible, right? That's exactly right. And they've cheated consumers and they've kept prices high and they're slow and they won't cash a check. Five to seven days to three to five days. There you go. And it was a huge victory. Huge victory, right? That they only held onto your money for five to seven days. So a lot that banks do wrong, if you think we could improve that in a digital world, the answer is sure you could. But in that case, let's do a central bank digital currency. Are you there? Oh, for a central bank digital currency? Yes. All right, so you can see she's very pro central bank digital currencies. If you look at Warren Davidson's tweet right here, in America, CBDC should be banned. This was one option, a jailable criminal offense declaration of war and implemented. Obviously that was his kind of poking fun at, but banned is the big one is that we shouldn't use it. This is a big scenario that plays out, has been playing out for quite some time on the CBDC front. So let's just understand that CBDCs, if we do get to that, and I think this is one of the reasons that obviously crypto in general has been more popular and started to become more popular around the world, especially in countries that already have problems with their fiat. And I think that is going to be an issue that will continue to face here in the U .S. of how that does play out on a digital currency. If you look at what's happening in China, obviously their social credit system is all tied to eventually to the money. So definitely a problem. Now the other things that play into this is that there could be some scenarios right now where Gensler is going to start trying to do some other things to try to deflect maybe a possible loss that could be coming at him. One of the things that's happening right now, this of course, hacks crypto founder used investor funds to buy almost four and a half million Black Diamonds. This is the SEC. So this again is nefarious actors like Richard Hart and others that have been in the crypto space. Listen, this is not the only place that has those kinds of actors out there, but this is a good example of just how the SEC is trying to go in and deflect a little bit. Here was one of the things they charged, SEC charges 18 Utah defendants with a $50 million crypto fraud scheme. So again, Gensler and the SEC are on the warpath right now. And I always wonder why, because these are small fraud. And I look at this, they're definitely not a Binance, they're not an FDX, and they're definitely not a Coinbase. So why are they going out after these very low hanging, I'm sure they should, but it's almost making mountains out of molehills in the kind of scenario that this is faced into right now. Are they maybe setting up for deflecting off of a potential big loss, such as possibly an approval through the House on these crypto bills? Just to give you an idea of just how close Gensler is to the regulatory and the political landscape, look at the timing here. January 12th, this was 2023, he sued Genesis. During that time, we had the House Financial Services Committee announcing their subcommittee on digital assets, so nice timing there. February 12th through the 14th, Wall Street comes in and says they've issued a Wells Notice for Paxos. At the same time, you had a committee hearing on crypto crash, why financial system safeguards are needed. Then you had this one, March 19th, he goes in and he publishes the op -ed in The Hill, and then you had the Senate Ag Committee saying we're going to do these crypto hearings. Then he does April 27th, and you can kind of see it just all ties in to activity that's happening in the political forefront. He is coming in, or the SEC coming in, and timing is everything. So the reality is that all of this is going to play into the hands, I think, of the industry and also to the lawmakers understanding what the SEC's overreach has been. So it's going to be one that will probably play out in a very short period of time. I want to go to this next clip of Ron Hammond from Blockchain Association. Listen in. At least in the market structure bill, which again, got more votes than the stablecoin bill from Democrats, which blew everyone's mind in D .C. No one expected that to have ever happened. We were expecting like four or five. We had six Democrats join. Stablecoins were expecting 12 or so Democrats to join. We only got five. All right. So simply kind of taking a little bit of a victory lap of what has happened here recently on the House floor in terms of the committees and getting ready to send both of these bills to the House for a potential vote. This will happen in September. Let's take a listen to this next clip on Hammond on Gensler. And I think the market structure vote in particular just shows how much he's lost his own party in terms of buying the narrative that, A, the status quo is fine, B, there's no need for legislation, and three, he's doing a good job on the enforcement end. And we saw that on all three arguments from different Democrats fail each time. And I think the fact that there's six Democrats who bucked their own party, who bucked the SEC and said, yeah, we're going to advance the market structure bill forward. Even the House Act Committee said, yeah, we're going to advance this bill forward, too, without any opposition recorded. That's huge. All right. So I think the play out on this, you know, when you look at the current landscape right now of what Warren's attack is, the crypto army, you look at the positioning that really D .C. is doing currently, and now could this play into the political landscape for 2024? Yes, it could. But the bigger play here, I think, is still the regulatory front. And that means that either the SEC is going to lose some of its power and the CFTC is going to come in and start to have a little bit more divvy up of what digital assets and how they're controlled through these government agencies. But really, how does this play out maybe into the future? This note right here from the block, they were talking about the commission being the SEC has so far received 52 letters about these proposed funds. This is in reference to ETFs, with most of them expressing support. So it's very possible that we could see an ETF actually get passed here. And you've seen some of the things we've talked about here on the channel before in the last couple of weeks, you know, everything from the Bloomberg team and so on around the potential of the ETF getting passed, the Bitcoin ETF. If that does get passed, that would be huge for the market, would absolutely legitimize what's happening in this space. And I think it would probably, in most cases, put so much pressure on D .C. that they have to move to going in and actually getting some landscape in play. Most of the comments against the approval appeared in multiple letters from a business consultant calling themselves the due diligence. I think basically this is a bunch of banks tied in behind this and this was the counter argument to what an ETF should be. So there is full political folly in play here and it is happening at, I think, light speed right now, much faster than what I anticipated even. One of the last things here is the comment period wraps up next week. So the SEC accepting letters for the final funds around August 11. So meaning that Gensler is getting ready to have to actually make some decision either for or against or a delay, which is probably what most likely will happen. But the good thing is that, like I said, there's going to be a potential right now which keeps increasing of a potential approval coming from some of the best ETF experts in the world that are analyzing where the situation is and kind of how it's going forward. Additionally, you've got anti -crypto movement now escalating Congress's assault on privacy. This is where a lot of people are starting to look at the idea of cash and just personal privacy, which is one of the biggest issues really around the world. And if you think about just how important that is, this would give you an example, cash matters, free citizens entitled to privacy and the protection of their data. In the UK, 74 % of people say cashless society would take away the people's right to choose. In the U .S., it's 73%. When it comes to purchases, personal preferences should remain exactly that, simply meaning that with a CBDC, we all know what that means, the control of the cash, control of what you spend on, then it gets into the control of what you spend on based on your political viewpoints or other aspects of your life that all start to play it. So cash does pretty much empower citizens to become capable of kind of voting with their wallets. And I think this is a very critical scenario that's playing out right now. CBDCs will be a big part of this. So you've got CBDCs happening, you've got what we're going to be dealing with on a taxable side and then the legislative. So all of this happening right now, literally in 2023, and it seems to be coming to a head very quickly. I think as we move forward, there's going to be two things that come out of this, and that is how these bills start to move their way through Congress and eventually, if we do get approvals, to the president's desk. Here's of course, the Senator Lummis and Gillibrand bill. Just another piece of legislation that is making its way through. Most likely, this is one that will not happen, mainly because of the association and the collaboration, I think, with the ICC. The bill involves a broader swath of agencies, so this is kind of interesting because it gets into the Office for Foreign Asset Control, the FTC, OFAC, FinCEN, et cetera. The SEC is provided also with something that a section -by -section overview claims resolves a long -standing issue with the SEC custody requirements. Probably the bill that will not make its way through, which gives us back to the scenario of the two bills that are currently on the floor that most likely will make it. So good news, I think, in general, bad news for the crypto army and CBDC is still coming to a head, but I think the good thing here is that, in many cases, it's like bad PR is even good PR, but the point is that the industry, lawmakers, finance community, they're all talking about crypto, and in the end, that is good for the asset class. One other thing that did happen, which is kind of interesting, this was a letter to Tim Cook, and we did a full video on this, so I won't go into the detail of this, but mainly it was trying to get Apple to get less and less constrictive on asset classes that are making their way through apps or innovation that are involved with blockchain. One of the things that they got into was purposely limiting choice and stifling innovation at the expense of user experience. This is a problem that Apple kind of faces for quite some time. And we broke down a lot of this, but the big deal is this right here, responding to the following questions no later than 5 p .m. on August 14th. So this is another issue that is coming to a head here in August of Apple having to actually address what's happening in Capitol Hill around the blockchain and the crypto industry as a whole. So again, just another big benefit, I think, for where this market is going. I want to go to this next clip here, and this is again Ron Hammond, on where he thinks Apple's position is. Listen in. But this is a bipartisan letter from the leaders of the subcommittee on innovation. That sends a message that says, look, I mean, Apple's getting hit on a number of fronts, but this definitely sends a message saying, you know, hey, look, you're on the clock right now. We're looking at you. So that committee is going to be taking more of a role over time because we've seen this talk and this narrative of crypto really shift more and more in D .C., at least, talking about the tech itself, which is perfect, is exactly what I want to talk about, the innovation and the technology itself. And that's the Energy and Commerce Committee. That's a bipartisan letter that sends a pretty good warning shot to others in the industry saying, look, you know, crypto is here to stay. We have concerns that the U .S. are probably blocking them out. And that's not good on our watch. All right. So I think this is one of those things, again, that the thwarting of innovation is a concern here in the United States because it's one of the things that pretty much pushed the U .S. ahead of the entire planet when it comes to really capital growth, entrepreneurship, how we grow our own economies, but more importantly, our position in the hierarchy of the global structure in terms of just being the global power. And I think if you consider that, you have to look at what's happening in Europe. And with the EU, markets and crypto assets regulation, this is MICA, this is a regulation that's pretty much been in place, and it's now starting to take form. And one of the things that you have to kind of look at here is their consultation package three. These are all actually happening now. Qualification of crypto assets and financial instruments, monitoring detection, notification of market abuse, investor protection is happening, you can kind of see the things there on reverse solicitation, policies, procedures, all that. System resilience and security access, all that is building. Mainly what is going on right now in MICA is they're prepping to get all of this regulation in place so that they can roll out this program. And when they do, it is going to put the EU at the front and center of one of the biggest asset classes that has ever been created. This is the power of what crypto and blockchain is bringing to the planet. And that's why I think we are seeing all of this scrambling going on here in 2023 in the U .S. Look at the timeline here of MICA. June hits, publication goes out. July, the consultation package one already rolls out. October of this year, we're going to see package two. And then by Q1, that's when that consultation package three goes into play. And then we have early entry into the application and then the rollout by end of next year. So this is pretty significant. Further into their rollout, this kind of, let me kind of zoom out on this a little bit. This shows more background on all the transitional measurements that are going to take place. And this looks complicated, but really what it simply means is these are the deadlines that they're trying to meet to get all of the organizations that are applying for regulatory position in the EU into play so that they can go into the markets with all of these things in a legal way. And I think that is what is interesting. I think they're going to stay very sharp on these timelines because they don't want to look stupid. And right now, the world is watching. Everybody's looking at this. Asia's watching this now. The U .S. is pretty much on a big race with it. I want to go to a next clip here. And this next clip is a little bit more about the BRICs, now why the BRICs matter. And listen to this one. This is an important one. Yeah. So BRICs is a collection of countries that are trying to find an alternative to what they see as the hegemonic dollar based U .S. run global economy. So BRIC stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. But what happened in the wake of the Ukraine invasion is that the U .S. seized Russia's presumably to try to set off a banking crisis. Now, ironically enough, for separate reasons, our banks crashed. But anyway, that didn't work. But the problem, yeah, the problem is that every country on earth saw that happen. All right. And you've got now all these countries that they were never really hostile to the U .S., but they're starting to wonder now, could they come after me? Could they try to crash my banks? But at this point now it's accelerating. And so they've got a meeting coming up in August. And one of the items that may or may not be on the agenda is the prospect of a gold backed BRICs currency. What I think is interesting is that if any country did gold back a widely used currency, that would I mean, it would be catastrophic for the U .S. dollar. Right. That would give the world an alternative sort of payment rail that is even stronger than the dollar is today. All right. So hopefully you guys are seeing how all of this is connected. You go from everything that Elizabeth Warren is doing on the legislative front to basically tax Americans, kind of setting up the scale of what and how this asset class is going to be dealt with, to how we're going to control the digital dollar, which is the CBDC, and whether or not FedNow will play into that in the future. Then you tie into all this regulatory framework. And then lastly, but not least, is BRICs and their importance on the global front. If you look at this tweet right here on World Statistics, GDP at purchasing power parity of the world. Here's the G7. You can kind of see U .S., Japan, et cetera, all the way in there, 45 percent 1993, all the way down to 2028, around 27 percent. The BRICS nations, all the way down to 2028, they will actually accelerate over the GDP of the G7. This is pretty significant because all this was, again, projected by the IMF, the International Monetary Fund. One of the things around this is whether or not, and St. Auge talked about that, Peter, the guy that we just did a clip on, he talked about the importance of this gold -backed dollar or BRICS currency. If that were to occur, that would be, as he said, catastrophic for not only the U .S. dollar, but I think catastrophic for the globe because we would see a shift in power pretty quickly. So here's the alliance right here. This is a scary picture. BRICS alliance will discuss the usage of local currencies for cross -border transactions in the upcoming summit in August. Now, the good thing, the good news, if there is some, is they're talking about using local currency as opposed to gold. Had they used gold, that would have been a huge blow into, really, the future of the U .S. dollar, and they still may go that direction, so you have to be considering that. Again, why is it important to be investing in cryptocurrencies or digital assets? We've just painted out a picture for you and the reasons why all of this flows up in a very interesting domino effect toward how just monetary systems are going to be run in the next 100 years. Stablecoins' potential counter to de -dollarization, that's a big part of this. So in this particular scenario of this article, people familiar with the talk said that the last moment the White House National Economic Council, this was Lael Brainard, dumped cold water on this stablecoin bill saying it didn't put federal regulators in a strong enough role. And remember, if you'll recall, we did a video on this where, of course, Patrick McHenry and Maxine Waters were negotiating that. And there seemed to be an agreement prior to going to the vote. And then at the last minute, Maxine Waters pretty much got the phone call from the red phone and that was dislodged. And then, of course, McHenry went to the floor with what was the old bill that did not have all the changes in it. So again, a lot of politics being played out right here in D .C. And again, this is very important because of the global position and what we are trying to do to essentially compete at a very high level. I want to close this out quickly with our last clip here. This is just the stablecoin timeline from the Blockchain Association listening. It does, unfortunately, hinder it a little bit, but I've had conversations with staff and members of Congress after the fact, and they seem very gung ho in trying to resolve this issue before the whole entire House votes on that bill. But likely what's going to happen is that in the fall, there's going to be a general House floor vote. Every member of the House gets a vote on this, which, again, it's a lot of education. So I've already had some Republicans reach out to me for more the right wing of the caucus saying the stablecoin bill is just a CBDC bill. And it's like, no, it's not. It's nothing related to that. On the left, we're seeing a little more consumer protection concerns and also just the general crypto skeptic concern as well. So August, we're going to have a break and in the fall, you're going to have a vote, right? Exactly. But I think for sure in twenty twenty three, we'll have a general vote on the House floor. And then you can see for yourself what your members of Congress are supporting crypto or guardrails for crypto and which ones say, you know, nah, you know, I don't I think the status quo is fine. All right, so big actions happening this fall and part of this will, of course, will be the stablecoin bill, but also crypto and digital assets in general hitting the House floor. This and as Hammond said, this will be a critical time because the scenario that plays into this right now is it's going to showcase into a lot of what we'll see in the political runs and the campaigns that are being run next year in twenty twenty four. So this could become a little bit more of a voting scenario. So hopefully this has given you guys a rundown. I know it's it's it is a lot here to to kind of digest. If you're new to our channel, we try to break these down. And I promise we're going to try to get these in a little bit, maybe smaller bite sizes.
