Training Topics of Speed and Power Development in American Football and Field Sports

"Hey everybody welcome to another show, so this one is a little different and instead of me, interviewing someone or instead of throwing out a Q. and A. and answering your questions I'm actually being guest interviewed by a guy who has an absolute stud resume in the field, and that is Josh hingst. I will say so. Josh I I meant to interview him for a long time now, but Josh flip the script on me and asked if he could interview me on a speed and power in related training topics for American football. When I say football really no matter what sport you work with it, it's this is really applying concepts of of speed bio mechanics for team sports so so American football team. Sport and really translating sprinting speed, and by a mechanic topics really into that environment the. Josh has a superstar resume. He's the head strength coach of the two thousand eighteen super bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. He's had past experience with the Jacksonville Jaguars the University of Nebraska the Atlanta Falcons as well as Florida State University. Josh multi talented, not only is he a strength coach and Ex Anna successful. When at that doing? A lot of work particularly with the Eagles in integration of Sports, science, and really being on the cutting edge there, he also is a sports nutritionist and has done a lot of work in the past in the realms of sports nutrition at some of his previous stops in twenty thirteen, he co-authored Athletes Guide to sports supplements out when he was at the University of Nebraska. I I met Josh back in two thousand four in Barcelona Spain, and it's been phenomenal to be able to stay in touch with him. Since then I'm super humbled. He wanted to interview me. This is like a it was a great opportunity to share my thoughts and put some thoughts together on these topics, but again just super humbling to be interviewed by a person with such awesome resume who I've been trying to get as a typical interview. Guests for this show so anyways we'll. We'll get onto it here just a couple of quick topics that we are. are going to run through is sprint a sprint, development and sprint mechanic development and speed drills particularly as it pertains to team sport. We're GONNA get into concepts on training foot. some particular concepts that I've that really stuck with me from a dairy bar that I've learned from him and how that Pertain Sport? We're GONNA. Talk about is metric, hamstring, injury, prevention and more. This was a really fun talking. I, hope you guys enjoy it so so let's get onto it episode to ten guest interviewer. Josh, thinks, and I have any conversation on speed and power topics. All I. I wanted to start off by Sharon. You know just the thank you for You know it's not often that you know people. Like me. Get a chance to thank people like you that you know that you're learning from that. You're progressing from. N. A just appreciated that. You know it's been a really good thing. I that there's others in the field like Mike in my shoes. That want to say that and. Yeah so I. Just I mean a lot of different thoughts. I mean. I think probably for me. You know I think you know a lot of the questions that you of have chewed on and and some of your interests. It's fun because I think we can all see where your brains at sometimes based on some of the people that you're bringing on the podcast with. Health or Of different things like that, but I think it's all really good good stuff, but I guess the first question I had is is probably one that you've answered a lot I think it's just more or less your take on some speed mechanics and running drills, and those application teams or seen I. Think a lot of people in my view. Shoes are like. Like well. We're not going to change that now. You know we're getting twenty three year old athletes in you know. Are we wasting our time in those types of things, or are you feel what you would do? You think that we can make make change. In how much time and energy do we devote to these things? Yeah, so that's a good question. I would say just in my time working with team sports in the running situation and thinking about it, and watching and observing as well I, think the I'll start with the good, actually because I think that it's in my nature to sometimes be a little contrarian as I was mentioning before we start recording I try to stay balanced. Try to really still like both sides of the equation, so with the common sprint drills as the bees, and whatever else there isn't all the marching type stuff 'cause I guess if we think of Sprint Joe. We think of a march. It's not going to fast horizontally. You're slowing the horizontal component down so there's some things in the vertical plane that. You can work on. It's all start with the positives I i. do think that there's always a bandwidth I mentioned this and speed strength, but I think that even if there's a disconnect between the actual mechanics in a marching bass drill for an athlete who might be a very muscular type athlete like they're very muscle driven they they tend to really squat deep in their movements, which isn't a bad for being a football player and Rennick Selah Rating. That's really important. But for someone who may not be in touch with their feet so much I think it gives a good opportunity to give them exposure for some of the vertical contacts ply metric in some ways so I I think that's okay. I don't have a problem with that I. Think it's the poll, the pole or was it dried mock or I think he's Polish when he came up with that stuff. It was really because they couldn't run I. don't know how many indoor tracks they had, and they just had to come up with a creative way to maintain. Muscle specific conditioning for sprinters, so if we think of if I'm a football player, a basketball player, and most of my movement is with a lower center of mass, and it's a little more specific to half the change. Directions quickly which I. wouldn't if I was a football player, I wouldn't WanNa really run like a sprinter because that's sometimes I think about if I'm spending more time in the air by nature, I need to the the the time for me to make a decision is is more or less are basically it's going to if it takes me longer to put my foot down. Now I can't change directions as quickly and I will say and I don't WanNa deviate from the question of sprint because I'm going to get there, but me and a dairy bar have been talking just in attract context about strategies to athletes run the four hundred and a lot of these athletes who are dying at the end of the race die because they don't. They can't switch strategies like they run one way. Way Whereas Wade. Van Niekerk does different things with his arms and legs on the Ben. The key switches strategy so this makes out I do think it is valuable for a football player or team sport athlete to be able to have different strategies, but I wouldn't I would never watch a football player, run and think man. You need to run as long as you're not running away. It's GonNa. Get you hurt. Excessive anterior till and the backside mechanics, poor backside macaques that come with the anterior till I. Get that we want to minimize those, but I don't necessarily need to see. Run same

Feel free to reach me. A couple of people just jumped on a start. Follow me. Thank you for All of that appreciate the new followers out there Hit me up. It's at J M Ch 316 at JMC Age 316 that, of course. Is all of your water cooler, talking points, 3 to 6 months in advance of anybody else that is out there. This, of course, is your nightly look at all things at Atlanta Falcons. So ESPN has been putting together their 10 best lists. Um by position. They've been doing tight ends this week. They had the quarterbacks this week. We didn't go over that list. They did not have Matt in the top 10. They had, you know, names like Carson, Wentz and all the nothing that he's won. I don't even know who the other guy think. Stafford might have been on the list. And this that the other so all right, I mean, Where the Falcon since 2008 the sixth winning his franchise or something like that 68th winning his franchise in all of NFL. Something like that. So anyway, um So today, they came out with their list of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and what they're doing is they're asking more than 50 league executives. Coaches, scouts and players. To help stack up the top 10 players in 11 different positions. Now there will be no special teams, but, um Say Here's how it works. Voters give their 10 to 15 players at a position. Then we compiled the results and ranked candidates based on a number of top 10 votes, composite average interviews and research. I had several tears, so we broke them by isolating the two man matchup with additional voting and follow up calls. Each section is packed with quotes and nuggets from the voters on every guy, okay? So with the wide receivers um Odell Beckham Jr comes in at number four. DeAndre Hopkins comes in at number three. Michael Thomas comes in at number two for the New Orleans Saints and coming in at number one. It's that dude. It's that guy, Julio Jones, Um, his highest ranking, of course, number one amongst these people. Lowest ranking. This is fascinating. Somebody had Julio Jones, okay? The the lowest rank that Julio got On somebody's list was seven. Now. I see if I can put this into context or making a little bit easier, or what have you If you think Julio Jones is on Ly, the seventh best wide receiver in the NFL. You should never play football. Talk football. Comment about football coach Football Scout football. The commissioner should step in whoever you are and bar you for life. From ever talking about football. Hey. You think I give you Hammond Egger? Hominy and grits. Types of takes and stuff like that, Okay? If you have Julio Jones seventh annual I could see if you said second or third. Hey, what? I think that that's kind of crazy. Yes. But still let's safe. Even some guys had him second or third. They said Hopkins is better. Thomas's better okay. Seventh. What exactly do you see Another receivers. That would tell you that there are six guys better than Julio Jones today in the NFL, because that's what this is today. Not tomorrow, not next week. Not in four years. Not you know, half a century ago. Today. Expectation entering the voting was that this would be close between Jones, Michael Thomas DeAndre Hopkins. It wasn't more than half the voters selected Julio Jones number one overall. One NFL coordinator, said quote. He's an avatar. There's on ly one of him. It, says Jeremy Fowler, and we've had him on the show before pulling a panel of more than 50 coaches. Executive Scouts of players came up with the top 10 rankings. Oh, sorry. We already got all that. It says he still got elite size and breakaway speed. He can win on all three levels. One quarterback in the NFL said. Quote every time we're scouting receivers, that's the one we want. He has everything. They say his only true weakness. He's 31. Now we said before that What would Julio Jones be? You know, when he got into his early thirties, Would he be a You know, a regular 31 would he be an older 31? You know, And that's why these next couple of years a very fascinating to see what Julio Jones still has out there. Is he an old 31? Meaning that you know, he's 31 book to beat up factor. Maybe there's not as many great years left for him. I don't know. I don't want to think that way because I don't want to think about life without Julio. But once again, this goes back to that's why you have to capitalize while you've got your guys here. You know, get Julio forever. You don't get mat forever. You don't get those guys forever today got to take advantage of it now. There's a few quarterbacks that say they'd rather play Jones than, say, Shaka at the line. Guy like Hill, or Adam's 1/4 said Jones is amazing, but only for 60% of the stamps now. That has been the knock on Julio Jones is Why is he that higher up and snaps plate? That's been the one thing that I have critique and said, Why is it a times when It's third and five. He's not on the field. It's third down in the red zone, and he's not on the field. Explain that one to me. One longtime NFL assistant said quote he can still get the DPS to turn her hips better than anyone. But is he approaching the end? Well, that's the $1,000,000 question, right? Why When people say we can't talk super boldness in there when you want to do it when when Julio leaves when he retires is that when we could start talking When we no longer have 11 on the field Now we could talk about it. Okay, when? When? When? When? When? Matt's 37 38. That's I mean, what's what's the criteria for? When we can talk about these things just out of curiosity, Help me understand and figure all of this out. All right. So what the NFL writers for CBS Sports Has put out his rankings of edge players and interior defensive lineman. Okay, ranking the top 10 Edge rushers, the top 10 interior defensive lineman. This is from Ryan Wilson. Their NFL writer for CBS sports Now I'm gonna start with the defense of interior off. Start with the defensive.

"You can also tweet me at Jason Fitz in the meantime many of you have called about wide receiver. Options you guys know him. A RAIDERS. Fan and Over almost every raiders. Mock draft has the raiders taking a wide receiver at number twelve. I'm going to be doing a little bit of draft broadcast fun and just a couple of nights with meantime field. Yates Dominic Foxworth Mike Junior myself and former NFL wide receiver. My friend Harry Douglas. So I thought what better way to break down some of the wide receivers in advance of all of this then having former NFL wide receiver. Join US so Harry. Thanks appreciate you coming on. Obviously hope you and your family are safe. I appreciate your time my friend. So you've broken down all of these receivers. You've been watching film on all of them. Who's the best in your mind? I'll say it's between CD lamb. And I'll have to say your duty surprising to me. You don't have you don't have rugs there what what are you not seeing rugs It's not it's not that what I don't see a rug. He's just that those other guys are so allusive and you can barely find weaknesses in their game. You know what I mean. You can line them up anywhere on the field. They're going to be a match up nightmare versus rugs was mainly played in the slot. A lot more but you don't see him versus that bump and run as much as you do. Cd Land and parts here. Judy you do see it but just not as much as you see the other guys and other guys You you don't have to question anything we rugs. He has the speed. He has the flat out speed but in the NFL speed can get you open only to a certain point. You have to be able to run routes very Chris. You have to know how different ways to be able to get open and be quarterback. We're talking to former NFL wide. Receiver Harry Douglas in Herria. No you've been really deep in a deep diving into the wide receivers and really across the draft. So I'm GonNa make you a GM for a second. You've got a chance to pick up. I'm going to make you the GM you have a wide receiver need and putting the whole board up to you now. You have to make the choice between you said CD LAMB and Jerry. Judy your top two or you can just wait and take one of the other wide receivers in your mind. Is it worth our those two so much better than the rest of the pack that it becomes worth taking wide receiver at the top of the draft? If I'm a GM. I'm putting my gym on right now I am. I'm sorry to say this. 'cause I love them a wide receivers but I am waiting to the second third and fourth round a tooth receivers because that's how deep this classes. Wow okay okay so when you look at the differences like how do you find the difference between? Let's say Judy or a CD. Lamb and some of these other guys like a Chenault or any of the other guys we've been talking about well should know. Espec- take him for an example. Just because you mentioned He has the injury questions. He's more of a running back built in a wide receivers I'll I'll say something put to you like this. He runs screen passes. He runs slants. He breaks a lot of tackles versus I'm GONNA get open. What my route running ability and when you get to the next level it's only so many speak sweeps and screens and things of that nature that you can run To to the point to where now you have to be a prolific receiver to get open because guys in the NFL are not like the corners in a defense. Is that you see in college. They're much more complex. They do different things. They play different techniques. Discuss coverage is up to a maximum level. So you have to be able to have the total package. That's the mental. That's the physical. That's the ability to get through hard times. Also so Harry. Find it interesting because we had a caller earlier chiming in about the bengals draft in his dream scenario. We're letting people call in and give their dream scenarios for their favorite team and there's dream scenario. The bengals was to take Joe Borough at the top of the first round and then possibly look at a great wide receiver at the top of the second round. When you look at Joe Borough and then you put him in that. Cincinnati offense with AJ Green. Is there a wide receiver that you look at it and say man a great compliment or the other guy that they need? Is this person. Well first of all you have to look at when you look at these teams look at their needs to Cincinnati bengals. Don't need a receiver because you you franchise tag. Aj Green unless you don't have a plan on keeping AJ Green for the long term but they have AJ Green. They had boyd and they had the little speech that they have a couple of years ago. that it's really really fast. And Ross so they don't need a receiver the Cincinnati. Bengals me on offense online to protect and guys on the defensive side of the ball. Okay so keeping the wide receiver breakdown we're talking to former NFL wide. Receiver Harry Douglas. I will be selfish and ask you about. Obviously my beloved raiders. They're picking it twelve overall. You Got John Gruden's offense. You're looking across the board year Mike Mayock. You're picking at twelve. They're all available to you. Is there one you think is best for that particular style of offense? I'll say surprisingly enough man. I like He he probably won't go in the first round because of the fact that he didn't get the chance to have a pro day and he he was injured at the combine. Bekasi Hamblur man. People gotta be these guys. That'll be lucky Cagey Hamblur. Didn't have an opportunity to show his the and show his loosened elusiveness because when I watch him film the young man is explosive and kind of office and I actually see him in the John. Grooten Los Angeles Rams the Green Bay packers all of those types of office K. K. J. handlers speed and his lucent's so we're talking a former. Nfl Wide Receiver. Harry Douglas. I take your take on ESPN radio. I'm Jason Fitz. You just mentioned no pro day. What effect is no Pro Day? Have for some of these kids. That didn't get the opportunity to shine in person. Well I'll tell you it's a juggernaut man it. It's it's detrimental to to what they're trying to do. Because like I said I was speaking to God's earlier I think more receivers will be drafted in the first round and they actually had an opportunity to have a pro day. Because you have guys who were in that first second round Tina Range That was looking forward to their pro day to be able to show they skills because they did not do it at the combine so this Pro Day not a habit allowance. Got To run these times. Run these route so these teams and had these meetings one on one. I know they do in meetings. Virtually but it's different man. You can just sit in front of a team or a coach and then you can they explain things to you need to go out on the field you execute it in and you go through all the drills. It's a big difference talking to former. Nfl Wide Receiver. Harry Douglas. So Harry. Obviously since we want to get your thoughts on one other thing we've been doing a QB continued series on first take every day. They take a look at a different quarterback and team and they sort of move. That conversation forward looking. What's expected from that quarterback in it happens to be lucky for us today? That quarterback and team is Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons a team that you have a tremendous amount of experience with and you do a lot of work with so when you look at Matt Ryan The quarterback. What's your reasonable expectation for Matt this year? Well this year when you look at this team overall the office side of the ball. Those guys are loaded there. Possibly that I had ten to eleven guys on the offense that were first round draft picks and for Matt. They have to get the run game going. Everything goes through the run. You look at the cow Shanahan on Mike Shanahan system. Everything starts throughout the run game. You have to get the run game and they did a great job bringing in early. That's GONNA help might run a lot. The got hated her to a tree from Baltimore. Because you lost one of your your better titans to free agency to Cleveland so but you still have Julio Jones who had cabin originally You you you you just you guys can make place. But she can't be one dimensional. That's one thing if we have learned anything about the NFL that you can't be one dimensional and you look at the teams who made the playoffs last year. Those guys all rent football. You can follow me on twitter at age. Douglas eighty-three Harry Douglas. And again you can watch US Thursday night on demand wherever you get your ESPN content. We're going to be reacting to these pictures. They go down with Michael Junior Dominique Foxworth and field. Yates Harry as always man. I appreciate your insight. My friend thank you so much..

"Fm Get started right now all right well. The Atlanta Falcons had twenty-nine free agents this year and they had no money because they're all given an automatic. Well they did do that. But they restructuring his contract so their pay putting it off until next season. He's been doing that for a long time. Isn't he? Supposed to get like forty one dollars hitter. Hap head is like forty million dollars. particularly they still have no money this year like their. Gee I don't know what their GM is doing. But we'll go ahead and go through. The different units will start with the offense. They had no quarterback issues with free agency. They do have their quarterback up. Mount Sam's who is unsigned. He ended the season last year on. Irr So. I don't think that they will resign him. They've had some shakeup on their offensive line. Now they're offensive line for the last. Several years has just been downright offensive but then they lost some people to sign. So they're focusing again. I think on the offensive line. But who knows how that's GonNa go because it hasn't gone so great. In the past few years they lost tackled. Ties Sam Bri low to Tennessee. He's signed a one year deal worth one point six million he was a backup right tackle in Atlanta last season but I think he saw some starting time injury. You play quite a bit. Actually they also lost guard west. Schmaltz Schweitzer Schweitzer's whites are to Washington. He got a three year thirteen and a HALF MILLION DOLLAR DEAL. He was leading have he did his. He was the BACKUP CENTER FOR ATLANTA BEHIND ALEX. Mack cozy go in there to Washington as a center or a Gourd. I don't know that's a good question. Because he is designated as guard on spot rack. But then on Atlanta's depth chart he was a senator so maybe he's pretty versatile. They signed guard Justin mccray from Cleveland. He got one year one million dollar deal and then they also resigned. Guard John Wetzel on a one year. Nine hundred thirty thousand dollar deal. They waved tackle Lucas McNeil. And then they've got Sean Harlow. He's a guard that was on their practice. Squad remains unsigned for the year. They did have some moves in the running back corps which were kind of surprised. Zine they brought in Todd Gurley on a one year deal. It's a five hundred five point five million dollar based salary but then the rams are also paying him twenty million dollars nothing dead cap. What your what what they cut him. It's GONNA pay him. Twenty million. And then the Falcons are paid in five and a half million or so. He's making twenty five million dollars here. Yeah that's why you don't pay running back in the rams are paying twenty million. Yeah the rams are the worst in the league as far as cap space goes. Oh Man I tell you complain about the buccaneers as much as they want about winning and losing August of we just do not have capi. She's like this now. I think last year was the first year in a long time that we've had a money crunch issues in the off season but it wasn't even really that bad to the point where we had to cut a lotta no high dollar players and we certainly don't have we're not paying people twenty million when they're not even here and we do that for coaches. Yeah but that. Don't count count towards the capsule. Brian Hill. They offered him a tender contract. T signed so. They've tendered him and then they have devante freeman is a free agent. Who of course was there starter. Last year he battled some injury issues but they have not resigned him. You would assume that Todd Gurley is probably taking that spot for him and then Canton. Barner was third string running back. He still remains unsigned. They signed a fullback. He Smith to a three year contract. This is crazy. He played with Dallas from twenty fourteen than in Twenty fifteen. He was on the practice squad and then he was there in two thousand sixteen in two thousand seventeen but he was a linebacker then he went to Oakland as a full back and then now he's signed with Atlanta's fullback so he's an interesting one if he makes the squad it'll be interesting to see how they used him play with a last year landings start now wasn't sure await he might have been two thousand. Nineteen okay well. He got a three year. Contract with the Falcons. He's pretty S- blocker. He liked him. Well like fullbacks underuse use. The will never get one. They have Shakeup in their tight end core. Of course Austin Hooper went to Cleveland became. I think the highest paid tight end. It was ridiculous you got a four year forty two million dollar contract which he did well in Atlanta. But I wouldn't have paid at all like what are you doing? Cleveland SLEEP CLEVELAND. They'RE BEING CLEVELAND. I guess so but he was a big moneymaker for Matt. Ryan like I had Austin who burned fantasy and he was good for like twenty points a game at least so yeah he was a really solid tight on keeping now no. I don't think anybody from Cleveland from Jacksonville. Now touching that one. The Falcons traded the Ravens a second round. Pick in a fifth round. Pick for tight. End Hayden hearst in fourth round. Pick good Lord I now which is how much I. I don't know it's not on there yet because you know some of these contracts haven't been finalized but hers was the first tight end taken in the two thousand eighteen draft. He was twenty fifth overall selected by the Ravens so they're trading away their first round pick from two years ago. You have to think there's issues there something there. Will you know it's like we? There's a lot of rumors going around that we're looking to trade OJ. Howard I remember last year it popping up news. This is two years in a row and you know Jay didn't really do that well this year. Now he didn't and we have great who I think. I think bright had better chemistry with Janus last year of kind of irrelevant. Now because James has gone. It's Tom Brady is that you don't really know but then you have to wonder if it's a performance. Issue the Falcons also agreed to terms with Kyri. Lee was with Chicago in Twenty Fifteen Detroit in two thousand sixteen and then buffalo in seventeen eighteen. They waved a tight end. Alex grave from their injury Flash Reserve list. And then Luke stocker former buccaneer. He is still remains on sign. He's a free agent so they've had some shakeup their complete Chicago Titan. Yeah and it's funny. Because you know in Carolina we saw. They were having a lot of turnover in their wide receiver core. We're not seeing that with Lena. They did sign. Luqun treadwell from Minnesota. But it's a one year nine hundred thousand dollars the also exactly he's a deaf guy and then Justin Hartley who was second-string last year. He is a free agent but remains unsigned. He played in Fourteen Games for Atlanta in twenty nineteen. He got twenty six targets and one hundred ninety five yards. So yeah and that's it on their offense. They've got some turnover in offense wine and then tied imposition tiny retention and then running back to so basically they're wide receiver core in their quarterback. Position is the only thing that set on the defense. They lost some guys on their defensive. Wine Jack Crawford Defensive. Tackle went to Tennessee on a one year. One point one million dollar deal they also lost Adrian clayborn to Cleveland Cleveland. What do they do? I know an Adrian clayborn. He has like this on again off again. Thing was Atlanta. How many times he left. Yeah like you into the Patriots came back now. He's GONNA Cleveland. He signed it. I think he'll retire said Falcon probably he got a two year. Five point seven FIVE MILLION DOLLAR DEAL WITH CLEVELAND. So he's going to be a backup rotation. Yeah probably Atlanta. Also waived defensive tackle Rasheed Haeggman and he was on the injuries slash reserve lest they extended Tyler Davidson defensive tackle and then they also signed Stephen means they're unsigned free. Agents include defensive. Tackle Mike Bennett. And I don't think it's the same Michael Matt. He's really go with the middle initial or Mike Mike. Well that's how he was on the depth chart might gotten and then Rasheed Haeggman. He's on signed so I guess. He became a free agent to both of them in the season on injured reserve last year in their linebacker core. They lost at this kind of defensive line right I get so confused with the three four still. It's so hard for me to round my brain around so outside linebacker. Big Beasley got cut and went to Tennessee on a one year. Nine and a half million dollar deal and then Devante Campbell. Outside linebacker went to Arizona on a one year six million dollar deal so they signed outside linebacker Dante Fowler from the rams. It's a three year. Forty five million dollar deal and then they also sign inside. Linebacker will Roy Reynolds from Cincinnati on a one year. One million dollar deal they also agreed to terms with linebacker Edmund Robinson who has been out of the league since twenty seventeen prior to that. He started his career in Minnesota. From Twenty fifteen to twenty sixteen seventeen with the jets and then hasn't been in the league since them at safety. They resigned to rod these men on a one year nine hundred fifty thousand dollar deal. They've got unsigned free. Agents in Strong Safety Kemal Ishmael. Who was second-string last year strong safety? John Cyprian who ended the season on I R and free safety. Jj Wilcox who also ended the season on Ir and then at the cornerback position. They Lost Desmond. True Font who they released after they failed to trade him per bleacher report. They freed up five million dollars in cap space but he still carries a cap hit of fifteen million dollars more in dead money. What IS WRONG WITH DETROIT? He signed a two year. Twenty million dollar deal. They re sign bleeding ray Wilson to a one year one point two million dollar deal and then they also agreed to terms with Josh Hawkins. Hawke who was with Green Bay from twenty sixteen at twenty seventeen and then in two thousand eighteen was with Carolina and Philadelphia and then hasn't been in the League didn't play last season Dhamar Miller who was in on their second-string last year remains unsigned Martin. Yes when I say Miller. That's close enough get Miller. There's it's not even in my notes on special teams. They extended their kicker young. Ho coup from last year. Is that how you say you had him on your fantasy team last year? Yes you did. I didn't have to pronounce his name. They extended him one year. And then they're punter so they had last season Bossier who ended up going on. I R. He's a free agent this year. They haven't resigned him but they did. Extend Ryan Allen to a one year extension and then they also agreed to terms with another Punter Sam Irwin Hill. So it looks like Bashar you out of a job. And that's it for their turnover as far as our cap goes. They are thirtieth in the league for cap space. Which is terrible. The Rams are the worst they've got at this point about one point six million grief. It doesn't even cover their drafty and adding. That's accounting for their draft. Yes still came on anybody for one point. Like what are you GonNa? Do you know the beginning of the season. One and League Minimum Player. Alot. Dear love to hear it. You couldn't happen to a better team. Yeah and this is their top fifty one for their entire roster there at negative six million so they're six million over but of course only the top fifty one really counts but where this would make a difference is if you are getting rid of a player in your top fifty one. Then another guy comes up his factored into the top fifty. One so booth yeah. It's somewhere in there again. We said earlier Matt Ryan restructured. His contract is so bad. Third Sabbath grew next year so his cap hit in twenty twenty went from eight million in base salary to one million but all they did was converted the difference to a signing bonus so his cap hit prior to the restructure was twenty four million and now it's eighteen point nine million so they saved about five million there. They also his cap hit twenty. Twenty one is going to be forty million crow. Totally screwed there. It's going to be a record. Yeah I think they're gonNA cut him like if I think this well you know. We talked about this last the last season that if Dan Quinn was gone it might be the end for Matt Ryan there to an Dan. Quinn ended up getting another. They kept him. They didn't fire him. He's on the last year of his contract. So you know if it doesn't go well for him. I don't see how anyone is safe. And especially when you have a forty million dollar cap hit next year. What what are they? GonNa do with that. But even if they caught him at camp it's still gonNA PAM must will keep the quarter. Maybe I don't know we'll say they also restructured left. Tackle THE JAKE MATTHEWS. So his base salary went from ten point. Five million to three point five million so that was seven million dollars. The cap hit was sixteen million prior to the restructuring. Now it is ten point seven six million so they save a little over six million and again they converted that to signing bonus but they still only have one point six million dollars. They don't know how to balance a checkbook taking lessons from Carolina. Panthers I guess it's bad and then you know just a preview..

Falcons could field an offense with 11 first-round draft picks

"So we had a truck a couple of signings by the Atlanta Falcons over the weekend right to pick up tight end Hayden Hurst from the Baltimore Ravens and they also acquired look Kwan Treadwell a former number one pick for the Minnesota Vikings yeah as the Atlanta falcons roster currently stands right now on offense alone just on offense they have a Levin former first round picks all of these former first round picks quarterback Matt Ryan first round pick Todd Gurley who sign when he was released first round pick Julio Jones first round pick Calvin Ridley first round pick the Quantrill first round pick Hayden Hurst first round pick left tackle Jake Matthews first round pick left guard James carpenter first round pick center Alex Mack former first round pick Chris Lindstrom the right guard former first round pick and right tackle Caleb McGary also that he first started his first round eleven is incredible let them all eleven of them a former first round pick I mean there's no way that's ever happened before right I can't believe that what ever but here's the real question if you had to redraft everyone of these players how many would be former first rounder this okay because I think this is fair Lidstrom McGarry and carpenter I've always been really what one or two years no it's been really since two thousand eleven okay yeah so let's remind me Gerry I think you were taken off or taken them out yeah okay so all of the other nine how many would be redrafted as a first round what's what's going on it's not right absolutely no question that runs for Todd Gurley no yeah I I would say no I would sit well I would say no one quite frankly his a conversation about the value of the position in general could also affect the new with him that was the thing coming out of college yes I look he has fifty eight rushing touchdowns over his first whatever seasons and all the other ones are either in the hall of Famer going let me just say six are we saying first rounder today or go back to the beginning again it would re drawing back to the beginning again because I'm currently the way Todd Gurley came out I mean would you not still take him in the first one that's the question now right are you going to pay for that kind of production from a running back anymore we saw Christian McCaffrey Leonard for net like there's been plenty examples of even a legal or not re signing a big second contract drafting a great one of the first round can still benefit you a lot okay I'm just trying to get to it you know is that what they've done in their right career does that mean where are the first roll worthy to me the girly thing is to your point he had a knee injury coming out of college and right when they signed with the red sign that long term deal with they're trying they got out of now then he was going to be chronic so to me the top group member he was the first one that airports reset the market for running backs and it turned out no he just re establish the old line of thinking but that first three years of production would you that would you spend a first round pick on that because we saw that rand's office how much in common now it always goes like this with the running game but in combination with an offense of line that did really well what you brought into what worth over would you pay for that as the foundation of your off I'm beginning to go the Melkite around here that I'm not sure running back as well because Melvin Gordon was in that same draft and Melvin Gordon is on his team I got an extreme I think that's the biggest conversation we could take out of this is the running back position record number mellow one point eighty never take a running back in the first Rana I wonder for we're slowly but surely going back to it I mean there was a contract a couple years ago with the first running back off the board was late second round out of Tennessee and I think we're going back to that after a bevy running backs being taken so we were definitely in on Matt Ryan yes we're out on Todd Gurley a legit is amazing looking back at Todd Gurley's draft class there's not a lot of got like if you're talking about reworking the top ten Todd Gurley might be the most wealthy in that group maybe outside of Amari Cooper yeah we can we can have that discussion later because that's in it read graphic I think is always fast and you have to wait a certain amount of time Julio Jones know quite well right Calvin Ridley first round too early again I think it's too early last year what he had sixty three receptions okay just under nine hundred okay seven touchdowns I would mean he also can't account for how bad that team ask me yes or no right now I'd say yes but I still think it might be too early Hayden Hurst no not because look they they took marketers later in the draft in the third round he clearly became the tight end of Baltimore which made Hayden Hurst by the way has taken in the first row before Lamar Jackson R. Jackson for Lamar starting you know tight on that team right now marketers you said right Hayden Hurst also dealt with some injuries and stuff there too that's okay in perfect sample size and when you have a guy come on like marquetry who could predict that the way that offense ended up of what he was the Mackey award winner a what he was coming home with one truck will no no Jake Matthews yes I think so I think so I think so do not I meet yeah yeah I mean yes he's been there he's been there is a second contract I also wrote a like doesn't miss a lot of games he's he's dependable yeah I think that's what it our printer are probably not I mean he's he's been a guy that's been in the league for nine years now dependable guy but we're talking about first round right you know I mean when you're twenty four we'll talk about for sure we're talking about top ten picks like a lot yeah yeah yeah I I'd probably lean toward no on that as well yeah yeah Alex Mack yeah absolutely yeah yeah and then the other than what we remember and I think Lidstrom would be headed in that direction yeah kill the guy who's more reach last year get killed the one I have questions about obviously we know the health concerns that existed before the draft earning a hard issue that he had had to deal with early in this time oxygen so there's a lot to hash out with those two but just I mean blows off the page when you just read that number the every single hundred dinners with that crew yeah what eleven Ryan still got its still on that ride to reach for the paycheck first but everyone else has to at least go for their wallets and act like there's also a common I do with you know with my dad so you got rid you got Ridley help you got got this R. Ridley Hearst links from a Gerry all still on their rookie deals you know wrecked yeah everybody else is is all for them yeah if I'm looking at yes correct so yeah they're all fascinating eleven a former first rounders on

Atlanta Falcons likely to cut running back Devonta Freeman this offseason

"CBSSports dot com as an article talking about house bobbins running back with Montee Freeman who would it be a crap casual T. this is Jason but of the athletic reporting that the falcons are looking at potentially letting go of the running back with just a couple years ago signed a five year forty one point two five million dollar extension yes No guarantees left on his deal if you work cut it that would clear out three point five million dollars in twenty twenty cap space but it go you do it right with like the view wait long enough I should say as high as six and a half million dollars in terms of free cap space this off season I would be very surprised very surprised the fathers do not go ahead and let go of the Monte Freeman who would get had a really really great twenty sixteen and honestly not bad twenty seventeen as well the only missed two games twenty eighteen we played into and this year he played in fourteen two rushing touchdowns three point six yards per rush six hundred and fifty six for your this is not the type of numbers that you need from your number one right back I think you cut out the freemen and then if you do what we've been preaching here are ready might Marshall just that in my you're my producer you go get a running back Dion race with Jonathan Taylor JK Dobbins doesn't matter who you want of all the good running backs in the draft this year there's a bunch of them so spend your third round draft pick maybe spend a second round draft pick you're gonna have to get someone who's going to come right in and produced in the modern NFL there are very few positions we can come in and immediately ball out running back is one of the but you mean very rarely get a real star on the defensive line who's not a top three pick like you can get a good pass rusher well then he becomes a good pass rusher but you're one not a lot of flash corners a little bit if the wide receiver is very it be very rarely do rookie wide receivers absolutely ball out Odell Beckham junior is the only one in recent memory who has dominated since his rookie year office of line that yes they can play well quarterbacks yes they can play well but running back time and time again as rookies get out massive impacting sake one Barkley and I was his best your big bile Sanders who led the total I guess yards from scrimmage record by a rookie in twenty nineteen a huge upper Philadelphian get a running back like Sanders in the second round if you're at Lana and add instant impact going forward in the twenty twenty season I am okay with the report from the athletic chastened by that they are deciding on ten truly letting go of the body Freeman having it be a cap casualty I think that'd be the smart move by Arlen about and we appreciate Freeman radically to focus on getting better in terms of the running game because as your quarterback ages just like just like that rise doing still great still leak but aging you got to help me out with the running back with the patriots day was suddenly showing Tom Brady they had not gotten a hot first round draft pick the patriots had not been a first round draft going to running back I think ever I can't remember the last time is there a first round draft a couple years ago the first round Brady third age but he was shot in Georgia and its work but shells not super good he's not with the top five running backs in the league we could make an argument a top ten top twelve running back the opposite of policy with their aging quarterback in Matt Ryan go get a running back I don't care if it's Dobbins I don't care if it's Taylor I don't care if it's with any of those three will be just fine by need going for here and the twenty twenty season

Super Bowl 2020: Prop bets for 49ers vs. Chiefs

"One of the story lines out there because our coach Kyle Shanahan San Francisco forty Niners coach Kyle Shanahan has coached with other teams before and at one point he was the offense of coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons who at at that time they'd made the Super Bowl me was offense if coordinating the falcons right out of a Superbowl win mmhm as they were up twenty eight to three on the patriots I remember it well come back in the century it was a big comeback and people say it was you know there are people out there who say it was his fault he had a huge lead yeah and he kept throwing the ball he need to run the sit on that lead what is the crazy whatever that I'd like he may be known for things there's a prop bad out there now on whether the forty Niners will blow a twenty eight to three lead in the super ball I'll stop of whatnot right ILR game okay what do I win for that offense of coordinating there's another prop that where the chiefs will be held to only four points home which means I two safeties right they say it's only happened once in pro football history but these are those crazy odds bets so Shanahan has a one hundred to one odds to blow another twenty eight to three lead that means if you bad a hundred Bucks it'll pay out a ten thousand

"That's gotta be a cousin case keenum initials are reverse Casey and CK interesting. My tiny little woman brain does not distinguish but so now I just don't think the vikings have. I'm sorry I wish I'd like to see the seahawks play. I think that'll be a good game Who who else do we have left? We Got San Francisco in Green Bay. Have the by the first week. Green Bay's typical will Detroit Chicago both in their division stinks Herash in an AFC. We've got Baltimore and Kids City Dot the advise Baltimore. I think as the shot at taken it all away. I don't see any by that. Could Stop Him and they've beaten the mess out of everyone in the play offs. While they're just good tagline Oakland blocking team really wish they had fired John Harbaugh. It'd be interesting to see the saints in the Baltimore in the Super Bowl. All of our be again. One Prima Donna team against the Smash Mountain. You know all of these teams. I feel like the people who would be terrible in the super bowl like the eagles lake are going to get wiped out immediately. There's no chance they can hit but you never know such for all right. That's GONNA wrap it up for us you you WANNA stay and hang out. Listen to the birth press conference from Monday. We're going to have attached here the end with the audio adjusted so you can hear the questions. We're going to try to keep to schedule a three times a week until we can't do that anymore until we just can't come up with stuff to talk about anymore you're gonNA have to bear with us because as you know off season can be very rural lane so we try to come up with interesting stuff. I can't remember if we did what we did off season last year. We were doing three podcasts. We we're we we didn't have no instant Casselton film review we didn't have. NFL News and Bucks News and predictions. I think we did a lot of predictions that we'll have to go back and see what our format was back. Then anyhow hang around listen to Bruce Arians give some good football knowledge about the team and until next Exxon after watching the film is really nothing different than than we talked about yesterday. You can all save your breath about asking me about Damis because there's not gonna be a decision says you may for a while. So that's that's a mute point right now and We had a good exit meeting with the guys with them. All individually here this afternoon and tomorrow and and talk about the future cases the processor these specific players but obviously record back you look at each week written they try to correct it so.

"But I will say this year and we've mentioned this before that people say we are an exciting exciting team the announcers every game or like man. This is a fun game to watch. And you've got a lot of personalities on the characters on you've got con. Su You've got Shaquille Barry Galvin. Take David Devon. Why Mike Evans Chris Godwin now though Perriman in there You Got Jameis Winston Justin Ryan Jensen. I love seeing him on the big screen. You got a lot of players that people that aren't haven't picked they football team yet can go guys need. I like that guy or whatever you know. Whatever reason for becoming a bug fan is I? Don't care as long as they become fan. We need to take over. The planet domination. Yeah that is on our agenda. Fill that stadium all make the broadcasters want to put us on every week on national. TV We'll see. How next season using goes I think we kind of caught some attention in this year? So and especially with David Winston. His whole contract negotiation being the thirtieth thirty quarterback. I mean that's kind of a big deal could be fun too especially when you can overcome. Then I'm going to say this. That was our biggest tissue with this team. I think it's plain and obvious anybody but Winstons thirty turnovers is what hurt this team. The most I can't think of anything else into the secondary was was really rough to start the season. Our special teams was rough. You know not much of a running game but when it comes down to you know David Swiss and turned up all our thirty times. That's it's just accepted. Now fumbles that. That's what caused us. That's what killed us. So he's got to change it. He's got to either that or throat sixty touchdowns next right but you know it. It was an anomaly this year. He's never thrown at many. He's ever thrown eighteen plus interceptions. We would've thrilled to death with an eighteen interceptions season season. And that's the highest ever thrown aside from this season. I do have a fact check last podcast. I had done the dolphins of line there. Her the sacks allowed had diminish as the season went on. That was wrong. It actually kind of dipped in the middle of the season and then went back up. So Molly's full shit. Ah Concerned just talking out of my ass. Well we only allowed one sack. James wants to mandate so there is that you're completely just mostly recorders all right. Let's get onto the drama. This week. That happened happened almost immediately after the season was over. Now that the season's over is start paying attention to the media. I now I really stopped listening into There's so much going on during the season and I think that everyone in the offseason grasping at any little thing in the journalists journalists to their job is to report on the team so even when there's nothing going on they're trying to come up with stuff to cover much like. We are in nonstop during the season. I've got the football games. I got press conferences got media reports coming from buccaneers com. It's really fantastic. I mean you get it from the Horse's versus mouth you don't really need the media the game analysis and keeping up. It just takes up so much Tom. Tom Follow just. Don't think that the media really has time into drums stuff. Up that purport assuredness stirred the pot. Sure did immediately. Immediately after the game. So Bruce Arians ends press conference was it after the game is after the game and somebody asked him about James Winston or what was the question. Do you remember the question. No No. It's on our last podcasts. At podcast what are the reasons why we put it on there and so that people can listen to it and we adjust the audio. Oh so that you can hear the reporter's questions a lot of times with the you cannot hear their questions we've asked a few years ago. Molly actually got them. I'm to push our put microphones with the reporters when they ask the questions that you could hear it but then they fallen out favor with that. They're not doing it this year. so how we adjust the volume so that you can hear you're the questions coming reporter that's at the end of the podcast if you want to hear what the The Post game press conference with the questions got our last podcast. Listen to the last twelve minutes. Long listened to the last fifteen minutes so now in any case somebody asks words areas about the quarterback situation and he said we can win in with a quarterback we could win with another one especially with the defense and Rick Stroud and gentlemen tweeted the quote quote as if we can win with this quarterback way can win was another quarterback and they did not include the part about the events and they inserted the word learn. If now I get it because if you're sitting in a press conference and you hear it once and you don't have the option to rewind in him in here what he said and sometimes those small word like if kind of get jumbled in the dialogue so I think what they do is they sit in the press conference in the press conference and they're tweeting these quotes and they just try to get them out as quick as they can and move onto the next. Because you'll see when the press conferences are going on They're all tweeting about these quotes. So I get and mistakes happen and sometimes it is hard to hear hear everything just on the first shot and then not being able to hear it again until later after we so I get that part but there's no bus. Pr Are team. Took exception to this quote that was transcribed and they particularly jumped on Jinnah which I thought you know. Maybe they should have said something to rick to not that I'm a fan of John Because of not so there's the original tweet in a had in tweeted and then she said I address this in a tweet earlier but it looks like it wasn't seen by some the word if should have been put into brackets in this week and it was corrected in the article. The if was initially done on because it was implied in his comment reasonable. It sounds but Scott Smith with the buccaneers organization and Karma. The tally took exception to this and and they were just Scott. Smith in particular was not going to let it go based on Denis's explanation sow his responses said. This Alicia goes to add a word. He didn't say to make an imply what you wanted. What you believe he meant to say and then agenda says this is one hundred percent what I understood the meaning of his His statement to be when I transcribe it. Then carver tally jumps. In and says this whole quote has gotten misconstrued today adding if completely lately changes the connotation misrepresents how it sounded in the media and JEN asset. Great you to know how to get a hold of me and it's not all slide you my number and we can have a thoughtful awful. The session twitter is the place for good night to which Scott Smith replied. I was replying to an inaccurate tweet. which is on twitter? Seems like a good place warrant eh which I was surprised because Scott Smith is ever the professional and very even Keel. He's definitely Nah The loudmouths in your face aggressive typers and not expecting them to be the first one into this flight at all and I are someone someone in the comments to correction said when Kellyanne Conway retires you can slide right in there which which Scott Re tweeted and the journalists said now would probably be a good time to long off. Twitter's alternative facts now. Oh and Richard Twitter the same thing and you know. I don't know how much they want to him. It would have been different if they would have corrected but they didn't they. Yeah they doubled down on it. I mean it did change the meaning of the statement. Here's how Aaron said it. He was like we. We can win with this one. We can win with another. It does matter but this defense. That's basically how he said but the way they do it the way they said it was he was like we away with is with any quarterback. You're right and then just left out a whole with this defense part. He just totally and it was picked up by the national media of course it was on. NFL Network dental lanes. ESPN so you know it just gets blasted out everywhere. The Bruce Arians says if we can win with Jay we with any piece of crap of comes off the field feel basically So you know. It's one of the reasons why we put the conference on the podcast here. So people can hear straight straight from Brazilians. They don't have to listen to it from the filter of the media to others while we adjusted the audio so you can hear who is asking the questions. They're asking them very very important and what they're asking and what type of stories that are writing me and molly can identify almost everybody by their voice. WHO's asking questions? There's a few down the jump in and ask questions. We're like who knows. But after a while you get to know. Rick Stroud or does listen to their podcasts. That helps to identify identify. Their voices have distinct voice especially our Kaufman the disdain and gentlemen you can identify hers because she heard questions like ten fifteen minutes on us as bad so I thought it was just as ingenuous. I thought it was journalist. Thought was unethical. You don't add a word in because you think that's what the meaning was implied. I did not get that from areas when I heard it at all. I don't know where she got. If from Iraq I mean he's a who did they both tweet the same thing out during the press conference. Here's REX. Twee wreck said coach. Bruce Arians when asked if this team could win with another quarterback quote with another quarterback. Oh Yeah if we win with this one we can definitely win with another one too and the if is not in brackets. None of it was that tweeted out during during the press conference. I think so. I don't know for sure if they both tweeted out there in the press conference and sounds like collusion to me or she saw one of them saw the other ones tweet and failed in the blanks that they missed any. I don't know trying to stir up crab or yeah the closer to come out today which we misquoting. Because they did. That's what it was misquote. Put it in brackets if you want to put it in brackets after. Everybody called him out for saying adding the word Yeah. You don't even have to say misquoted. Him because that has kind of a negative connotation but if you say I just want to clarify earlier quote and you can come out and say you know. I think you look a little better if you WANNA clarify why. I put an extra word in the beginning to change the meaning and took out the other half of the Senate into that change the meaning. I made it into what I wanted to be. which that was the criticism that they got a good enough to win with another quarterback? Oh Oh yeah when with us when we can we can definitely win with another to have a defense. That was the quote from a press. Rascon was wrong. I thought I had that press conference at the last broadcast. It was the post game press conference and it realized they were talking about the press conference for Monday..

"He wouldn't have got to Matt. Ryan would have been a big play. That was his last second season. It was it was just really neat seeing home. You know tell everybody. Hey this guy's uncovered and he's going out for pass. Mikey was saying the definitely knew what was going on with play. But then they didn't block him because because they figured they could get the ball out fast enough but he's so fast in running back turned his head around quicken up. And that's really not a gamble. You should be taken out no no and now a shack me okay. Biggest biggest thing about this game was the last drop by the Atlanta Falcons. That's what won them the game and and it was a large combination of we screwed up and they play very well on fourth and four and a fourth and four. This was a minute. Nineteen seconds left in in the fourth quarter. I think they were on their forty one. So in that area about midfield fourth floor. They had to make does it was no you know if we would have stopped them here. Game over we wrought by three. They were trying to get down the field scofield. They got a first down. Because M J Stewart was in the game and he gave the running the wide receiver going across the middle too much cushion. The guy was able to catch the ball. But he didn't catch the ball past the first down marker he had run from the first down marker he still right about three yards to go twenty. Four Iran store came in like a missile. I mean they got the guy he read the play the whole time so he comes running down from the safety position. He's got his is targeted by any missing totally lift and the guy. The guy didn't even try to run for the first down. He just kind of jumped forward for landed on his back to get the first down. I was like but I'm distort was aimed because funding got hurt. So that was another thing too even pointed this out. Did this for you molly in particular killer. Matt Ryan is one of the best quarterbacks at reading the field if you fall down you screw up in coverage Matt Ryan felt too. You're just how it is. When bunny got hurt and fell down Matt Ryan immediately recognize it and threw it to the guy he was covering and ended up getting twenty yards or so? But I find it because I talk about it all the time and it was a perfect for example in a budding. Pulls I don't know what again hamstring or knee or something. It was not content. Ankle might have been angry. It was not contrary. Yeah but as soon as he falls you see Matt Ryan Look over there and see it boop twenty hours leading back to that okay so they get the first down. Remember that play on the broadcast here when I was so demoralizing because yeah because we had him behind the Atlanta skirt that line to gain twenty four had made that tackle twenty twenty four made that tackler Stewart would have stuck to his Guy Stewart. Looked like he was kind of confused out there a lot you know. Didn't there's another play. I'll get to him back. He didn't he wasn't playing with the oath that the rest of the secondary place for sure and he looked confused but that was man coverage and he was supposed to follow his guy. He let the guy get out in front run album. Kinda jogged behind him. But anyhow so that was a mistake on our part there to get that four very demoralizing then forty thirty seven seconds left third and twelve thirty and twelve now we have been phenomenal on third and long season. A one point a few games ago and I haven't looked it up I I don't even know where to look it up but we haven't allowed a third and seven or more all year long. That's just amazing. So anyhow third twelve we got this right we got third third twelve. Oh yeah no problem. They tricked us. They snap the ball before we were ready. Our whole secondary worth's was talking to each other like facing each other. Even Thou Kong Soo was turned around. Talk into the secondary or linebackers. Everybody was not prepared for this play and as soon as Alec Amac put his hand on the ball snapped it and Ryan. It was a shotgun position so they weren't expecting them to snap the ball that quick any snapped at any. Their whole offense is moving. Our guys are still turned around looking looking at each other. You know it took him a second realize what was going on and this was the only time in the game where they had a wide open receiver and he shot across. It was Fourteen hardy he gets an open the middle and a catches a plas pass then plus yards after catch ended up with twenty one yards. Put them in field goal range. So that's two mistakes mistakes on our part on the last drive they had to to disasters. Mistakes took and things on their part to but we just wore not shocked our recalled difference. You could see they were all just like what you know those guys running past us and they were so confused. They didn't they they left open coverage and of course he leave a man over coverage met right. He's GonNa see the guy to throw it to him. You can't make mistakes with Matt Ryan then with thirty eight seconds left as might have been the next play eighty-three gauges his name. He he got a twelve yard reception that put on chip shot field goal range before they were in. You know kind of iffy Field Orange territory. But then he got a twelve yard research and put them in Ville go range guess whose fault that was. MDA Stewart Yup and Caulton Davis was furious I mean just flapping his hands and goes up to him was point. NATTY came up empty. I couldn't really tell from the Phil whose responsibility it was. There was three Buchan years on that side of the field covering in two guys and one of them got open. But I'm disturbed wasn't doing anything. He was kind of sitting there. You know look like they were. They were playing. Its own coverage. I WANNA say it was quarters but L. J. Stewart in another defender over on the side of the field lined up exactly in the same spot but the receiver that caught the ball. Eighty three gauge with clubs Stewart at Stewart was in the line of the path of the ball if he would have just moved over about three feet but he left it open and they called. The boy was called Davis furious for remember. During the off Season Nj Stewart the coaching staff was talking him up a Nick Repoen. The defensive backs coach was just go glowing about him. How he'd be the nickel or he'd be the starting safety and then come the regular season any the vaca? It was a very strange range. Ever see much all unite at all. I mean he hasn't been starting. He comes in occasionally but I think then he just got out played by these rookies. And you can't really blame the coaching staff. He was not playing with energy out there. He's actually kind of looked like it. Didn't want to be out there. Even even when Carlton Davis went over and started yelling adding he just turned around and walked away. He wasn't like dialogue and with him or trying to communicate or anything you know maybe that attitude attitude is a holdover from Vernon Harker could be maybe burn Hargreaves Zorin now for the big one the interception overtime James Wisden and one hundred percent James. Wednesday's fall eight. I thought it was an hour out that he threw but it wasn't it was more of a hitch Through the Cameron break came and bright went out about six yards and then turned around and sat waiting for wisdom. The phone the ball wisden's should not have thrown the ball linebacker. The linebacker didn't hardly move. move the whole play just stood. There said he clearly knew what was HAP- He. He was a few feet away from camera and break just standing there. And when he I saw James Winston throw the ball he just walked right in front of camera bright. Grab it rained it. In for a touchdown it came a break. Mike could've moved over little bit. Shot blocked a guy from getting the ball or whatever it James. Winston should've thrown at sooner than he did too. We waited a little bit longer than he should have but he locked in on Cayman Brac. That whole time at look anywhere else do that ball one. The easiest picks in the world for that linebacker all you do is take two two steps and he was right there and he just ran it right into the end zone so I can see why Bruce Arians was furious about that one. I thought it was more of an out route and the the guy had undercut the route but it was a hit and the guy I mean the guy undercut the route. But it wasn't like anything specially did. It is part you know he was just like. Oh Hey they throw it right there. I'm just going to step in front of him. So definitely Jameis Winston fault. Looking at this game You know I said I said at the after the game of the instant reaction. We were definitely the better team. I think we were about the same team. I think I've been the case for years. Freeman was running all all over top of us not too many big guard Ron's but you know he was getting six eight twelve yards straight up the middle. We haven't had that all year. Derrick Henry did it but that that was due to a lot of holding on their offensive line now he was running. Our DEVANTE didn't get any more yards than anyone else ever does. Sound like he had like one hundred yard game. I'm against But he was getting these up middle. Nobody's been able to run up. Give mill on us and he was getting on quite frequently. You know a lot of that had to do with the rotation. We were putting in a lot of times. The guys weren't the run stoppers and Guys were slipping and falling down. Long Lot of missed tackles in his game fell unlike us. Yeah it was so this is a hard one if you say. Did we win it. Did we lose it. Did we beat ourselves. Did we beat them to the refs gift. There was a play where Matt Matt run through intentional grounding that it call it and we feel on. Oh I know the gun shop at about that. I mean we James Whisker call during the game. Matt Ryan didn't surprise But this is a really tough one because they played well you know. It wasn't like they were out there screwing up and not holding in. We'd lost the game on that last and it was defense lost at fours and that lasts drive. It should never come to over to not have come overtone exactly and it was a long drive that they got roku quickly and it was mainly because we screwed up and we know Matt Ryan can do that more acceptable and the You know so is it. Did we beat ourselves. And that's what I'd have to go with here. We beat ourselves. We may dumb dumb decisions. Don't big mistakes wchs that cost us. You Know Matt Ryan will capitalize. This team will capitalize on your mistakes. We made mistakes that overtime. Throw by DMC Winston at just a bad decision Capitalized on it. You know snap the ball early. The capitalized on that mistake got twenty seven yard. Play out of it. We fall down in coverage that capitalized on him MJ Stewart doesn't cover his man. Good enough we miss a tackle that capitalized saying so it was it we ourselves in the foot. They capitalized on it. So it's hard not to say that we'd lose it. Did they win it that we you know that I'm just GONNA call it a wash fifty fifty. Yeah we are defensive. Line is head and shoulders order above Thurs and they're not gonNA think any pressure on James Western Harlot all so we should just on that. We should have one day. But you know our kicker Mishima's field goals James James Making some stupid decisions breakdowns in on the defense but that one mellon which I caught us off guard I was like oh I don't know if it was masterful or if it I was just I wanted to throttle our defense but at the same time on Mike. Hey they all fell for that. You know what it sue Ford Sue. You know he's a football studious. Yeah high very high football. IQ and he wasn't prepared. He was caught off guard by that one..

"Monday is the following Wean Dang. Oh I'll see how that goes no. I don't think we have anything absolutely not but especially in the NFC south we'll see if Atlanta can hold onto their head. Coach heard that Mike McCarthy interviewed for the Carolina Panthers head coach John. Please let him Newton back all my gosh. Yes as we found out from Green Bay after he left. Iran was running the show there and if he comes Carolina Cam Newton is certainly not equipped to run a team. Like that like Aaron Rodgers is well at at least with Cam. Newton's leadership the whole team will have a good style or at least style on over the good and you know funky hair who get all that straight now. Now that'd be his leadership the important things in football that's important hell got the all twenty two film Review Don for Houston Texas game. It was very interesting very interesting interesting but surprisingly I got the video up on Youtube and I was actually surprised this funny when I do these things. I have no idea how long they're going to be because after hours and hours and hours I was watching it. I can't remember how video clips Don and everything so it was not until up. Start putting together. That could see how long it is and this is one of the shorter ones I've done but it was one of the more interesting games is to watch so that was very strange. If there was a couple of video clips at I I know I did. But they ended up not being in the video. I don't know what happened to him so you know I was doing this. We we had family over house will people so you can hear all the background all kinds of stuff a tremendous trying to do all day yesterday to. He's a Christmas Eve couldn't do it. Yeah we had people all in here just making all kinds of noise and some of the family is read aloud anyhow but so I did said Tuesday got most of it done in finished it up today and I was really surprised with a Thursday. I didn't do anything yesterday during Christmas but I was really surprised. And how little how few clipped Hijab said it was very interesting and then I was missing a couple of clips disappeared. So I'll talk about those clips here in just a second. All right do you remember what our summary was. Instant cast go ahead. Lay it out there with what we see what we see. The rats were horrible and it was a game that we lost next Houston. Texans didn't necessarily win that game. We just Kinda gave it away after watching all twenty two. I'll tell you this. The rest were actually worse than we default. If you can believe that. I'm not surprised this is. This is a quick summary of everything the the refs were absolutely elite. Trash absolutely trash. I think I can't remember which game it was awhile back but I think we had a really bad ref game. I WANNA say it was New Orleans. Seattle maybe Acura but I think we had quite a few screw ups by the wrath. I want to say nine or fifty something like Dan of anyway anyhow in this one account twelve. Wow Yeah. That's a lot that's a lot and we'll go over them in detail here. In a moment the Texans played with more energy than we he did how interesting so that was kind of like the New Orleans Games. Yes yes. We're very flat. Especially the second game. Our defense played well. Well we know that the offensive line played well but they just didn't play with oath that they they Gripe Tech James. I mean the few snacks acts they got those were Jameson Fault for scrambling around I think three are it was they. Were not pressuring him. In our offense landed a great job with dominance myth just just basically totally shutdown merciless without a lot of effort. I think Mercilus got buying twice now only once and I could take an might have been twice but neither one of them really affected the play. Jensen played really well. There was some good blocking but but generally I mean we shut their defensive line down and they did a lot of blitz up there number forty thirty one Zach Cunningham back taxes. He's good so as their nose. Tackle Jira DJ reader number ninety eight These are two guys. We did not pick up long. When we watched watched some of the Texans Games matter of fact the people we thought might would be good at? Actually we were totally wrong about their defense of their cornerbacks star. Receivers like Glue Jameis Jameis Winston had very few open receivers almost every pass. He threw a tight window. That's crazy it explains a lot Li- through so many interceptions because I mean he was just throwing no matter if they were covered or not because they were always come basically. That's interesting because they're ranked so low as far as passing defense. It makes you wonder. I wonder if the game plan wasn't good. If they stepped up their play if our receivers you know because we had our number one number two were out if our receivers just couldn't get space. I don't know but they were. They stopped doing like glue. It kind of looks like our secondary our secondary played very well are defensible. Played very well. We pressured to Shawn Watson quite what a bit. Not as much as I would like to see of course but he is hard to press her that because he's a mobile quarterback he can usually escape and that is his number. One thing is a mobile quarterback recommend. We really kept him in. Check Him Deandre Hopkins. He's a mobile quarterback and he does just like Jameis Winston. Sometimes he would scramble for no reason and he would get you know run into Zack's and he was missing guys open downfield not say it reminded me almost exactly of Jameis Winston except to watch them has a little bit more grace. He doesn't look liking thinking newborn draft when he's running around got a little bit more speed to him. The Take David played very well. I would say he was the best player on the field. You know this is this is gonNA sound really really strange our worst unit and I think this is what hurt us the most was special teams. Now we were talking about. I was like why are they. They haven't done back their return punts kickoffs and then they did and he just wasn't getting anywhere and nobody was able to get anywhere. We hardly any yard. It wasn't until it blockers. We had an appointed this out in the video. Fifty one mentor thirty. Four Adams thirty-seven Wilkins and twenty four Stewart. Were all guilty of not blocking a single person on punts and kickoffs sometimes even almost every punt and kickoff. They were just guys not blocking anybody where they within our were they Brian. I wouldn't say they weren't trying to just like they have asked it. I wouldn't even say they weren't given effort. They were just not executing well. Yes let's let's. Let's say that there was one kickoff right up scored a field goal in the first quarter. I think it was mazzy. Would want to mentor. I'll put it on the video. A two of them on the right side aligned Argh is one of them was mentor. Remember that just let three guys run right past them and the returner just gets let's clobber bio is very strange. They didn't block a single person. There was actually two points where we had two guys on the governor of Kevin Minter and Adams one time we had two guys front blocking one guy that that one guy for the Texans. Just rain right between Minter atoms they didn't put latently handling. He just ran right between rain down. The field made the tackle who's got caught. Bought another play another pont. I want to say it was Mazzy Wilkins and mentor. This time. The guy goes around him. You know it was two guys on two guys on Goner. He runs around them. They turn around and start chasing him and another Houston Texan Texan. Guys comes running up right behind them and third looking at the guy that ran past them and the guy that is behind them ends up making a tackle. I mean they were just turned around and blocked. The Guy can't block guy in the back. Why even care? If he's running past you just turn around the block somebody else but he had the guy was running right behind them. Them and then just veered left. Quick made the tackle so our special teams unit has got to step up. There was one where Ryan Smith is usually are special teams guy guy. He did not a whole lot in this game. I want to say that Houston special teams. They pay a lot of attention to their special teams. We don't seem to Brian. Smith twenty nine. I was running down the sideline as a gunner is blocking and the guy. He was blocking number thirty three grabs him and pulls into the ground right in front Aref right. This is one of the twelve that I'm GonNa talk about here in a minute. And thirty three goes and he ends up making the tackle and you see Ryan Smith Walk Up to him and stick his finger anger in his face. The very next punt thirty three is running down the Field Ryan Smith runs over two men. Grabbing by the Jersey inches yanks him straight meeting face as plant into the ground and that no. That's another one of the twelve so he got his revenge. Our special teams use unit. Did Not play okay well and it really was a difference in the game it because this was a very close game this was an inches matter game right behind Ville. I'm going to put James Winston. He did really good with you. Know making some very difficult passes but he was scrambling out of the pocket too much when he didn't need to like I said our offensive line did a great job giving him clean. Pocket's hold on pressure on anybody just seem to have those happy feet this game and he doesn't seem to affect him when he has the happy mm seems like the Games where he's had a poor performance. He's been very flighty like sat. Yeah you get skittish but he did that too much and he made poor decisions decisions one of the decisions he made. What did I? I'm not really Nakajima's for this kid. Because like I said I mean these cornerbacks glued receivers and William James was did did a great job and we were within three. I mean it's not like we got stomped and despite the four interceptions we had the chance to win it right. Which is what I'm getting to next? We got the ball with. I think it was twenty. Six twenty nine seconds left in the fourth quarter. We were down on our goal line. We had the drive all. We need with a field field goal so we had to drive. Sixty yards will say in twenty nine seconds James Hikes..

49ers finish off their home slate in 2019 with an NFC West divisional matchup against the Rams

"We'll get things going then. In the Saturday night slot words the forty niners playing host to the rams. You're looking at the forty niners. A six and a half point favorite in this contest. Test total at forty five at Fox numbers tick tick trickle take down. Whatever the hell you want to say for forty six and a half on the open we know? The Rams playoff hopes are on life support. Pain the forty niners need to win to keep pace with the seahawks in their quest for a division title obviously they would like to win out and try and secure that number one overall seed read. This is actually going to be the largest underdog the rams have been stalled in football. Game with Sean mcvay. As their head coach they even rested starters late in the year season ago. And we're in catching six and a half but when you look at the rams performance against the Dallas cowboys all that optimism that enthusiasm that energy that the rams have found that two thousand eighteen swagger the goes out the window but the forty niners on the other side they need to bounce back after they were upset as a double digit favored by the Atlanta Falcons. It wasn't the best of matchups for the rams last week. And you know you look here in. It's it's not the best match up in this game either. It's week sixteen right like we've talked about these teams over and over. It can sound a little repetitive. But I think if you're looking at Jared Goff you're looking at mcvay you're looking at girl in this rams offense. The biggest thing is the ability to negate pressure right inevitably when it gets to Goff. How is he going to handle it? These are the things that matter most on this side of the ball and you go back to that week. Six matchup in golf just GONNA do anything. Sacked four times pressured. Twenty two did not handle that very well. One point seven yards per pass attempt zero explosive passes had a twenty nine percent passing success rate. That was with all three receivers healthy to back then so there wasn't any issues In being shorthanded. Now there's this lingering thumb issue golf hit his thumb on a helmet last week. He claims it's just Peruzzi. He claims just feels a little stiff. And he's GonNa be one hundred percent fine. Let's say golf is fine. Think about this match up a little bit you know you have a rams is team that passes at sixty two percent of the time. It's it's top ten in the league. They probably are going to pass it a little bit more here. Just Game Theory. Wise is being a nearly seven point dog as you alluded to the motion. The mcvay era but the point is of the rams are going to be passed now facing this forty niners defense and and we talk about this all the time. Top foreign pressure rate bottom foreign bullets rate. The secondary isn't left very vulnerable here and why they have the second most efficient pass defense all assigns at least so far unless Thursday hiccup at practice today that Richard Sherman Williams. They're going to be good to go Saturday. They were full participants. Since at Wednesday's practice that's a great sign. If this were two thousand seventeen I think or even early last year the solutions pretty simple right like just turn around. Hand it off to girly. Make the forty niners defend run. Make their pass rushers respect run make them think about this run game before they can just like go after Goff like a pack of wild animals if girly I can get going here. He didn't play in the first game if he can show flashes if he can be his former sell for sixty minute sample. I think that likely determines who covers this game taught right because the forty niners are the most vulnerable against the run. It's it's nitpicking picking but if you look the four defense twenty third in rushing success rate twenty second explosive run defense whether it's earlier Brown right. Those guys are GONNA have to be efficient enough off for the niners to respect the ground game. And if not I I don't think we can project GOV like going out and having a field day against an elite pass rushing elite secondary knowing passes coming all game.

"Their hands and and really happy for Carlton. Get the Mike Alvis back in. That was a fifty fifty outdoor. It'd be time to Calvin Ridley. And he took it away from him call. You know he's playing man coverage press pretty good at it little Hansie as you mentioned that he was a little bit more. Yeah we we had a nice mix this ball game and has off coverage is getting better as they're both a little bit better off coverage so they're not up there every time you know This their strength is because they have that length is get up there and get on people a little bit to be able to play off coverage really helps holly how it drives you guys. They even if it was quarters up there preston playing claim basically all alone by themselves. Commentators said something. I don't know how accurate that's what I want to ask you. That is coaching staff. You guys spent. I don't know if you say extra time or more specific time on gain planning for what Atlanta has done successfully the last two weeks Do you credit in your coaching staff. Did you guys. If you'd watched the previous games it was a totally different defense It was all manned man press bear defense This was more traditional zone. Cover two man mixed in and out you know So they changed three weeks ago after their little coaching change inch and I thought our guys did a heck job having a plan for both losing. Those adjustments not only throughout the year but in halftime rhyming can talk about the word. We'll by Joss where the judgment. What really goes ended? I during a game or even go into each while. You're going to sit. You're going to see new. Things might be formation. mation might be motions so you adjusted halftime defensively offensively. It was where they were putting a safety down week and not strong and we had to rearrange how we're blocking things and it's the beauty of having Chris Guy when we take a take the linebacker l. at the tackle block to safety any blocked him every any time and So the running game really got going. It was a shame that we we had a false start because I think Roggio my ninety seven on that one he was out and into the second half was only around and in terms of just establishing separation. It goes from nine point. Game at the Hampton. How big was just to play on a huge? I mean it's exactly that get get the two scores. Get them out of the running game. And let's tee off and the mix I think we had one chunk in there but You know the mixture of the Ron and is like I said the tight ends that handful this week block and three hundred pound lineman but and we made those adjustments at half time and I thought the coaches did a hell of a job of getting those runs is going to give us is always going to be on a quarterback. This excludable right. I mean that's just the game all the time look into trump's point.

"That was mine and that guy just and he ended up placing last in the tournament and everybody was amazed ever like how did he plays last and he beats you twice. I had been beaten by anybody like six years so it was very strange. But that's when I realized that sometimes some people just have your number whether they realize if you're not and I think with Donovan Smith That's how it is with Adrian clayborn. He just hated Dom Smith just can't handle Adrian clayborn he just pushing back knocked him out of the way he. I think it might be because they're about the same size and I don't know but he just seems to have Donald Smith Number Dom Smith didn't let what to do a whole lot but it was interesting you saw. Donald Smith struggled mightily with him more than he does with anybody else. Ryan Smith number. Twenty nine gotta get Kudos out to every podcast. I think because that guy is just a beast or special teams. He's changed our special teams. You remember before he came back from suspension are special teams. Suck we guys were. We're getting you know. Fifteen twenty yards punt on us. And everything are Vernon Hargraves loafing. But since Ron Smith has come back our special teams has been on point. I mean he's down there. He's the first one down on any punt or kickoff every single time and he likes to hit. Yeah yeah he ain't scared contact for sure so we you gotta give rides. Smith is shout out like I said the defensive lines is killed especially in the fourth quarter. They were all over. They were all over ransom. I mean Matt Ryan I think everybody got in on it. Nacho Joe We actually got to see a seventy nine. Patrick O'Connor Ninety six Sam Ocho were out there for quite a few core. Yeah there was that one matt match shop came in. No I think they started coming out in about the third quarter towards in the third quarter match. I didn't come in until the last drive. With the Falcons in the fourth quarter but he had in the fourth quarter are defensible. Tear them up. So that's about it for the film review like. I said there wasn't a whole lot there that wasn't on the broadcast. If you watch the youtube video you'll see some interesting. Things was one Ryan Jensen. I think it was ninety seven. Grady Jarrett Gregg. Jarrett was a real handful info for our whole line. I got very underrated. Defensive Tackle Alley more grady. Jarrett were going at it and Jensen comes in and hits them from the side and they fall down. Now I don't know what dry jets was still. But he ended up doing a head stand completely vertical with his feet sticking straight up in the air. I thanks keg. Stay Grady Jerry and Alvar pet. It was hilarious actually. Did a screen shot of it. Oh they're fullback number forty kief his last name can't remember last fullbacks left in the league he got into it with J. p. p. blocking him and he got a little too aggressive with JP JP didn't take too kindly to that just tossed into the ground man violently and it stood over top of him. Like you know things. Yeah and I got to get that sound bite from booger. Though there. When he was in America started around the block? Good tight defensive ends with tight ends. Oh my gosh. I'm honesty Diane Monday nights so the Baltimore game where they destroy. Who did they play kidding? Remember such an ASS whooping is ban Baltimore's been destroying everybody. They ran up the score like forty. I can't believe I can't remember which had quite a few of that in the video too and I kept quoting buggers could get down by saga. Put it in the teams. Do you just like I mean. Why would you put a tight end? Luke Stocker on She Gilbert Barrett or. We've done it before it with a grain. A block in we do it all the time. And it's insane interesting thing. I got to look at this. I was like you now. It just seemed like we've Like I said we're we're a good football team especially offensively. We're good football team so I looked it up and we have lead in nine. Eleven Games. James I've had the Leeann we've had the lead in nine of eleven gave the only games we didn't hold. The lead was week six against the Panthers Week. Eleven against the saints. That's pretty impressive. Yeah you know the four hundred seventeen too bad. We can't keep a lean man that happen quite a few games two where we gave me and I looked at the time of possession. Listen to we. We lead in time of possession in six of the Games in five of the Games. We didn't lead time of possession of the five games that we did not lead in time of possession. We lost borough in the six games that we did lead in time of possession. We only lost three so we have a much better chance of winning when we lead the tunnel possession. Yeah so that's about about it for the twenty to anything. The is the rams played Monday. Wake up to in the morning. Wake me up. It's three three well. Tomorrow's Thanksgiving happy Thanksgiving. Everybody enjoy your most likely. Everybody has two days off most people a a lot of people. A lot of people do enjoy your family gifts. Thanks Three Games tomorrow. Wolf and New Orleans. Play Portland five division games in a row. This'll be the fourth one. So they had planned panther insane. It's Kamajors Panthers want revenge on them. Yeah and how it goes tomorrow with Atlanta losing US since we can. Then you know they've just been trounce seen the other two teams in the division. Are we GONNA do a Friday punking. Yeah probably might be Friday morning. Cook Brodie Morton. Now there is. It's hard to do at Thursday cooking on him and drinking so in that order all right. Well that's going to wrap it up for us us if you want to listen to Bruce Arians Monday press conference stay tuned to after the podcast. Here it'll play. Do you have one more thing and addendum. Oh I got some lose to okay. So we're not done it Ramon. Someone had commented on our instant reaction. I think it was rarely even who likes EXTA leave comments which we always appreciate an thought. We should cut devon white a little bit of slack and I agree with him when he said was that not Devon's not gonna get any better with pass coverage if he's not on the field completely agree we advocating benching and we're saying he needs to improve aspect of. I think I did see that at the first of the year I was saying maybe he needs to sit for awhile. Winters Mentor as yeah. Well I mean we're asking for these matters either. Rookie rookies are ban. Almost all the time I learned that from Ian Beckles who lean backwards is really high on this team. They really listen to him as I just assume that he was going to be after the Lee streak he was going to be negative. He's he's he's really high on him so rarely even thanks for the comment. Yes because you're in you are correct. I'd I'd I do believe and you know I say stuff on his podcast. Sometimes I blow it out of proportion at the game of inches and you know step here step. There means a lot and so I'll make it sound like players are worse than they are. We are better than they are. Sometimes but I'm not advocating for Devon white to be benched up. I think you're correct you know. He's he's only gonNA get better by get out there playing royal exactly and the other players on the defense needs to step up if you now that he is a liability in I think in watching the twenty two you know that I I play. They had it was like a fifty some yarder to tight end. I can't remember the guy's name. It went straight up obtain graduate and Graham. Yes and watch it on all twenty two. I couldn't for the life of me. Tell me tell whose responsibility in love I said I think in the incident camps that it was the inside linebackers Devon Whites Responsibility He. He should've gone with him. They were playing former cover to shell. I don't know if it was supposed to be a Tampa to linebacker. Drops back further In the video so I said that was incorrect and blaming it on Devon white but then re watching it you can see Levante. David Devon Wider John Back and forth after the play basically basically it looks to me like they were trying to figure out which one of them screwed up. That's pretty sure. It was devon white casting now but also puts Toronto veterans to to straighten and stuff about so that could have been with. That was or could have been definitely going well Monte. You're supposed to be doing that. Well you can see them talking walk into each other before the play as to where they were supposed to be who was covering hill and the voluntary mug like he Went covered the running back leaving the tight end to Devin y than just got confused with the message. They're just kind of drop back a little bit. He didn't go all the way back and definitely didn't follow the tide am. I don't know I don't know whose fault it was but I I would. I would have to say it was once so my whole point behind all of that is that we can't blame the secondary totally for all these yards is being given the no it doesn't white gives up quite a bit yardage he he actually gives up more than his fair share. You know probably about thirty percent of the arts given up on pass plays can be attributed. It'd just to Devon whites and it makes sense to because if you're an opposing quarterback rookie. We're asking them to do a lot whole lot. He's got the Mike Tail. Yeah yeah he's he's he's one in charge of getting play calling and everybody in position and a lot of times. He doesn't even know where he's supposed to be all right. What you got for knees ace? Still Look in the Gregg Allman had a pretty interesting stat out the other day people were talking about Winston's interceptions and all that you know the cost of the Games you know when when and does according to Gregg Allman when James Winston has zero interceptions and turnovers. The buccaneers are still twelve and fourteen. Wow so his turnovers aren't the necessarily the reason why we've been losing. It's an interesting measure. Yeah well you know that's the thing about stance you can make them say what everyone to so I'm not a big fan of stats a good tool but Definitely not the end all be all. Chris was named the NFC offensive player of the week and a career. High one hundred eighty four yards and two touchdowns and our win against Atlanta. He dessert that one is our. We've had a lot of honors and awards this year. Man I'll tell you what the the pro bowl balloting is going to be interesting because we got a lot of guys that deserve to be in the pro bowl. It is amazing. How much Asia talent we have on this team? I mean elite level players Shaq Barrett via NASA JP. That's just a Eh La Fontaine. David we're one of my at five now. Mike Evans Chris Godwin at seven right there. I would have thrown that guy in there. If he went and miss those in his. Somebody pointed out that he has a better record. Statistically from fifty yards and beyond then he does breath. Kick an extra. You know and I thought about that strategically if you WANNA take pressure off your offense or your quarterback doc when you bring in a kicker that can just boot it so then it's not a big deal get it that you know if you can't get to the end zone better chance Um At least putting points on the board if you have somebody that can make it from fifty seven yards fifty four yards. It was funny. He you know he missed those three extra points. which what thirty five have your kicks now or something? And then he made like a thirty five yard field goal was so strange. Like how do you miss extra points and then make the field goal. Yeah but I'd rather him mis extra points and make feels yeah. That's it for me news. I'm sure there's some other stuff we missed. I wasn't in the news mode today in the videos. All right so we're gonNA try this again. That's doing for us. If you want to listen to the diverse area the press conference stick around is going to be answered. PODCAST here till next time tailbacks not a lot to add. Thought it was best complete team game yesterday. other other than the extra points And that's so easily fix a marriage just a little late on his often any hurries up. And then that's when you hit that big Hook So he fixed it on the field goal The block was just really a great. Get off on the guy. He's still headed on one to six. I think so We it can do a better job on the edge but boy Allen made a hell of a play running a guy down so But our coverage and pressure you're went hand in hand defensively..

"I like to see that end around. They had Wisconsin Miller. Yeah he lost two yards on it. Yeah they sniffed out but it was different. I like the UN. That Scotty Miller if he gets an open space I'm anxious to see him getting open open space because he's waiting for fast little do now. I put another firsthand. James has played really really well except for that one jumped pass. Yeah now let's take off right. Yes and it's so funny because Matt Ryan did the same exact thing later. That's the past that the Lante David dropped Matt Ryan jumped jumped up in the air and tried to to dump it off to die right in the middle. And the vaunted David grabbed it and started running with it before he had secure had it secured but Yeah famous was playing really well actually had a note here in the third quarter and then after that he started eating a little bit but he he had a really good game. The one play this is is the play that I think changed the game. Now Quinn the head coach for Atlanta Falcons and Bruce Arians both pointed to the Chris. God Lin Seventy one yard touchdown play as the play that changed the game. Yeah which is funny because right after that. The next offensive Dr Jameson other pick. Yes on that play. It is so funny on that play. Where he Chris Godwin and that was probably the worst person he could've thrown to there was two guys? CRISCO remember Mike Williams Mike Evans and restart pair of both open on the side on either side. Yeah I would look at that and I was like this is something I would really complain about. If Godwin would can't wasn't a seventy one year which is really hard to complain about. Not In seventy one yard touchdown and it was the extra effort by Chris Godwin. That really made that play which it's been so long since we've had a receiver that run after catch. Yeah and he was really tackled job and stayed on his feet and rain touchdown but to me that was not the tipping point of the game. Like you said even after that James wisdom to interception still seem that you know that the game was closed between us it. It wasn't until we were backed up on our one half or eight yard. We were close to our ends on. This was a three thirty one of the second quarter matter of fact when I was doing the game name the video for this I skipped over this play. I was going to put it in and I was like ads. Good thinking on it last night I was like I really need to put this play in there because it kind of solidifies. Everything I talk about James Winston. It was that a Shard pyramid past one pass. He caught and fell out of bounds. Forty four the yard passed me. That was the tipping point. Because here was we were backed up on our end zone. It was third down third seven. We're backed up on our eight. A third and and seven and Jameis Winston scrambles out of pocket. You didn't really need to. But he kept a shoulders downfield. He was squared up and he kept his feet beat set. He had his base so he was able to see if anybody was open as he was scrambling really perfect. Everything not talk about James Winston needs to be doing better and sure enough. He He solved pyramid was wide open. Nobody even close to him and he threw the ball and paramount. Of course caught it. If I don't know why pyramid turned around like he did to catch it and it fell down. That would have been touchdown John if he would've just caught it over his shoulder. No nobody near him and that you know to me. That's the one that changed the game because I think it really gave James Wisdom Competence you know. It really sparked a team up because we got out of a third long situation we got off of our ends out and what pointing out all year is that usually Selena Games. We'd lose it's because our opponents are able to score on these long drives and we haven't been for a long time the longest drive. We had scored. John was seventy five yards. Well this one you know was a like we started off on the ninth. Yeah but it was like a ninety eight yard adult member but it got us out of the end zone and and it moved from that point on we pretty much dominated the game. I think the only play the hand after that was blocked an extra point which that was came braids fault by the way the extra point. Seven seven fifty three and a third quarter. Winston does not see a wide open Mike Evans on a third and two he throws an incomplete pass. Covered Cameron Great. This was we were on our own. Nineteen ended up putting after this. But Yeah Mike Evans was wide open yet. That's what I'm saying. The first half of the Game Winston played really well Then in the third third quarter towards the game he started doing some of the stuff. I don't like you know miss an open not seeing open receivers now seeing the field scrambling a little bit when he didn't need to Bubba. And and then the defense had or get second-half balances out defense stepped up and filled in those holes and JP really showed up in the second half. I think the energized by the other guys. He is usually one of the ones with the most energy and we saw last year when the team was losing that last game he's done a lot of guys. Don't keep it rea- and he hates losing so that's got to be a little draining the emotional or the energy the source of the defense and not have anybody step up say then he really feeds off of it and it was a good team effort to get the energy up. Well well if he's the one who's done it he's done a really good job because honestly he looks like the least energetic want he did have some really good players. But that's one thing you brought that up. I'm glad you did the bugs here. We are sitting in four eight now. Point seven hundred seventy now yes foreign seven point seven and we looked like a team. That's still trying to get in the playoffs. None of these guys are quitting. Nobody's phoned it in. I mean they're playing hard and you you gotta look respect it absolutely. I'm not a big Fan of teams trying to tank for draft picks. No now kind of pisses me off that what you know you know how you feel when the bucks lose the rest of the week you Kinda just Blah you know and especially that that Sunday you just go and go to sleep so you know. It's not a good feeling. I don't. I don't want that feeling if you know what I want to win. Every week I wanted to be entertaining amy games with somebody else brought that up. I'll post on Reddit. They were talking about. It was a eagles fan or somebody said that we should be thankful for James because he's very entertaining Yup and it's over lining guys very entertaining. Sometimes he makes you wanNA pull your hair for Donald Smith had a rough day. It wasn't bad it wasn't like Donald Donovan Smith Old. But it was Adrian clayborn. He's got hatred yet. Daydream Claiborne. Got His number in. It just seems like a ton of Smith and I'm notices throughout the years. You know documents down a hard time with Adrian clayborn. That's so funny. They didn't really put Adrian clayborn on Smith that much but when they did man he had a hard tom with him kept them. There wasn't really smart on their part. I always like Adrian. Clayborn was not happy to see him go thought he was a good player. He's just got a motor. You know he doesn't quit that's for sure and he's not you know elite but I think he's certainly above average. Yes right. Yeah so solid. He's going to get the job done. That's sure he doesn't make a whole lot of mistakes But there's I don't know what it is but Donald Smith just has a hard time with Adrian clayborn. I used to play racquetball. Competitively early and when I was about fifteen years old I was playing in the adult leagues because I got to an advanced level where I couldn't nobody my my age was a competitive enough so I ended up having joined the adult leagues. I didn't lose a match for six years. I was really dominant in in the sport and nobody could. Just there was just no competition for me really. I mean I was plan guys much older than me too but I was just fast and in agile elegance toughen. You know anything about racquetball to bury fast for I ended up playing in this tournament. One time and I played this guy. This is is going to the Toll Donald Smith and usually there's there's no matter how good you are. There's always somebody out there that can be absolutely like the New York giants and the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl time whenever expect the giants to have the Patriots number right slice. The giants have basically a bumbling stumbling and team and then they go in there and beat the Patriots twice. This is what they just got the something about him. I think it was Tom. COBB wasn't it head coach. Yeah something about so the the same thing happened with me and this is where I learned that lesson. You know I mean I was just in this tournament I was just dominate and everybody was nothing Nothing unusual but then there was. There's one guy and we were playing like a tournament where he ended up playing everybody twice and you know it was kind of weird bracket system. Yeah so I ended up plane got twice and the first time I played him I found out he hadn't been playing for like Leslie Year and You know I didn't really think nothing about and I was like. Oh this would be pretty easy and he and I was. I was furious why because I had a huge ego at the time and stuff and I was furious at the they got around to it but I was furious after that and I was like that was luck it was pure. You're lucky he just happened to you. Know and what he did was he you know like I said I played really fast. You know slammed I kept the ball low and everything was about keeping it close to the walls. What else good stuff in this guy would take my serves or techma rebounds or whatever and he would just lob it just lob it up to the ceiling and it wouldn't do this high arken basically he slowed the game down? He didn't know what he was doing. You know I mean. He didn't plan this but I couldn't play that away. It just frustrated the hell out of me so the next time the moment I was like okay. This got me last time but I know I know how to be evanger honor. Yeah no he beat me he beat me again. I just couldn't play that I couldn't slow down and that's what I realize I was like well. Everybody's got their Achilles heel in..

"And that's how you gotta play. Let's that's what we need to do. It be nice if everybody played to. Hi level all the time. This is not really feasible. I mean you're always going to have you know somebody that's not going to play well during a game. You just need the other guys to step up which we did to the right and they can be for various reasons. It might be that the other team game plan for that particular person to pick on them when you play the Patriots. I mean they're going to take out your best players. There's so the other units on the team have to step up and take some of the pressure off of you and I think with James says that's part of his problem. He feels feels the pressure. He wants to do everything and he always plays the game from the get go with a sense of emergency like he feels like the game is all about what happens right this very second and a lot of times. I feel like that's when he forces throws does that get picked off or he just makes bad decisions because he's always got the sense of urgency like he's always trying to do something right then. He plays frantic. I like I like to describe but today did well today. He Dad especially overcoming the mistakes early. But you know if you're GONNA have mistakes. It's better that they happen early. Like that. The out of the way and you can come back from them is when you don't come back from them. That is really a problem but the problem. Play Jacksonville next next week. They just got stopped by the Tennessee. Titans then and they looked really bad. The defense didn't they quit. They're I mean they're not tackling. Anybody do they still have the guy with the Mustache Gardner. mentio- NC state in the quarterback foles L. Brochure. I haven't paid any attention to that. We've got a one weapon. We have the video out on Youtube probably Wednesday afternoon if you want to you stay. Listen to Bruce. Arians press conference after the game. We're going to have it on the podcast here. Colin Kaepernick workout: Patriots, Cowboys, Giants among teams reportedly set to scout QB

"Either holy as to what the hell is going on with this private work out with Colin none of it makes sense to me so if you're following this story there's been a lot of stuff that has been written over the last couple of days where apparently the NFL has set up a private workout for calling capric to be viewed by all the teams if every team was going to be there is offer dispute if they told Colin Kaepernick that or not that's up for debate but there's going to be at least seven teams there maybe eight to go see Colin Kaepernick but it's on a Saturday in the middle of the season with a late notice down in Atlanta at the Atlanta Falcons facility at the Atlanta Falcons facility right now I don't it doesn't seem like he was the one who started this but somehow the NFL started this was that to sort of cover their **** in a case that has already been settled out of court with a with a massive pay out which I can understand yeah I I don't know so I know that this has anything to do with this year anyway this may be for next year okay I I why I say I have no idea why the NFL's on this this is is unprecedented this is never been down for a player in the history of the league a separate work out where the NFL scouting director you know who decides to come so all the combines he's the one that's in in charge of all this I would still try to get to the why I don't know why and it's and according to all sources everything that I have read I mean everything that I've read over the last two days this is not a part of the settlement between calling happening and the NFL down about was not required according to all the reports to do this now would be the only thing that would make sense to me is that in that settlement the collusion lawsuit in that settlement were calling cabinet got paid a lot of money that they said as a part of this I need to be in front of all the teams at some point so they can see that if I can play or not because I'm not getting that opportunity but it's like you just said doesn't seem like that's the case right and I doubt I doubt any GM's are going to be there or any active coach is going to be there because it's a Saturday unless of course their teams on buys it may send a coach or something I don't know sounds like there's eight or nine teams that are confirm confirm that are going to be there and then if you go to profootballtalk Florio's taking a you know kind of like an attendance sheet himself calling around to different team saying that those teams will have a representative there but this this is not the sign him right now and I don't believe unless some scout comes back so wild and says you know what we can sign on I I actually think what this is it feels to me anyway that the NFL is trying to gauge if there's any blow back from the fan bases of teams that send teams there like in other words this is like cover for the individual teams there may be a team that wants to sign Colin Kaepernick but did not want to bring him into his into their into their facility because they're afraid of some blow back from some fans but this way he goes in and it's under the cover the NFL and scouts can see whether or not he still has what he claims to have been that is the ability to play quarterback in the NFL old white is the NFL have involved I don't know don't know why so the way that it works with every other player in every pro sporty's if a guy is available and a team wants to sign him they can go out and sign that guy if they think that that person can help the team the league doesn't get involved and and put on a show for a particular guy especially for a guy who's already got a settlement of millions and millions of dollars through the court system in a lawsuit I settled yeah he settled and that was settled out of court by the way you know the the other aspect of all of this is you know is that a P. R. stone I don't it to me it doesn't make sense to be a PR stunt PR stunts usually don for good reasons you know like for any of this is going to conjure up a lot of you know arguments again the question is if somebody does Saddam is gonna meal for the national anthem or is going to change his mind like Michael Bennett did to go play for the cowboys right yeah Michael Bennett when he played for the patriots stayed in the locker room during the national anthem I think the Jerry Jones told is Asian if you want to trade for Michael Bennett would like to happen here but he's going to stand for the national anthem out on the field Michael Bennett is done that for the cowboys so I I don't like you know there's still so many other aspects to this that if a team does Saddam I guess you have to have answers to all those questions right and to me PR stunt is is not what this is now I know you're sick is that what it's doing is it's opening up this can of worms that has been buried now for months well now you know then you have Eric Reid now Eric Reid is a close friend Collins place for the Carolina Panthers suppose their greed is been talking to David tapper the owner the Panthers about trying to get called to come down there and Erik Reid actually you know he's he thinks this is a PR stunt I'm like you know what what does he think this is a PR stunt this is not good for the NFL now I sit in that that the NFL is doing something like this I don't know what the impetus is I don't know what is pushing this and driving miss it all other than the fact that Collins agents have put out many different statements to to fight the fake news out there you know everybody that still under attack is always fighting fake news what the the present United States you're contacting your different ends of the goal as a result every Robert bye bye take things nice right okay so we get it so I guess maybe you know and I and then there's this whole controversy around who is attending and while the NFL telecom Capper necks representatives who was attending I just die and the NFL someone not doing that which is we or set this up you want to come and do this will do this and you know between ESPN and pro football talk and CBS sports everybody's trying to figure out who's gonna show up at this thing and things like that nineteen shown out but that doesn't mean I don't know what how you look at it like that whoever shows up here find like that's the way it should work in a way like if a team is interested in a guy go and watch him work out fine I don't have an issue with that doesn't matter to me what I want to know is why the league is doing a wow why are they involved at all now one of the things are crossed my mind was thinking about this is the whole JZ thing right went when Jay Z. got hired by the N. F. about eight five million dollars to the be the the the social justice warrior whatever that was right was is title as well as business right error creed when after chasing right so now is it could this be a conversation where where Jay's and this is total speculation yeah I have my right where we're JZ goes to the NFL and says Hey you know I think this would be a good idea if we got him a work out in front everybody and then maybe that made JZ look better because people were hammering him on the capric side of things could that be because what it does I can not figure Floyd it's got to be somebody in there pushing something so right and I don't know man I fell standpoint because there's no reason for the NFL to be in let me ask you a question now so so call and you know obviously thinks of himself as a starting quarterback in the NFL starting quarterbacks in the NFL make somewhere between eighteen and thirty five million dollars is our team that's gonna be willing to sign him for that kind of money is that what he's looking for some hours you're looking for like a bonus hi deal I have no or I mean I I haven't heard I don't know I don't even know what that I don't even know where where you would start with that yeah it's it's it's very

"Network. so crazy how. storyline can change even after one week so the eagles against the Redskins in the NFC east matchup that was not scale boys and shot him the one that got a lot of extra attention and Carson Wentz the focus really for a lot of reasons I hadn't played Finn swat Ted two thirds of the way through last regular season but there is no more Nick Foles as that safety blanket man falls goes to get hurt in its first quarter with the Jacksonville Jaguars so light comes at you fast in the NFL to be sure it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio I I had a call earlier this week after me if Matt Ryan is dying if he is done done done he said it like four or five different ways if you don't. here's Doug Peterson coach of the eagles about Matt Ryan our guys just I want so they play differently but you know this get after and and they put pressure on a man and anytime you do that to quarterbacks and and disrupt their timing can cause turnovers incomplete passes move him off a spot whatever it is you know we've been able to do that and international be challenged down there. so yeah still think that the defense has to be able to create some push on the line get to the quarterback be disruptive but it's going to be a challenge in Atlanta I'm looking forward to this game I think this is one that should be inside some desperation with the Atlanta Falcons. and for them the start couldn't have been any worse similar to the Pittsburgh Steelers how could it have been any worse similar to the Cleveland Browns couldn't have got much worse. but now you have we can never to a chance to right the ship you get to be Holman. at Mercedes Benz. and this is a really good gate. the eagles are a team that if healthy they remain healthy. I think could be the total package could be one of the tougher teams in the NFL and so for the Atlanta Falcons an opportunity to not just proved to the outside forget the outsiders fans analysts talk show host like Maura..

"Atlanta Falcons. If I recall they beat Atlanta in Atlanta, very early in the season week two or three in overtime. Yeah. I'm right now Lana boy that lost to Dallas that was crucial just about short-circuiting any playoff hopes. They might have wanted to get your take on the team. We saw last night and you and I talked about the Chicago Bears initially you looked at Minnesota. But then you looked at you Kogyo as well. And I just because of the outside factor. I just looked at this team and said, you know, if the defense led by MAC and company if they get after cousins, I just see visions of him wilting, and they pressured him, and they got to them and this Chicago Bears team when you have Hicks, and you have MAC, I mean, you have pressure, and that's key in their secondary's pretty good as well. Your take on the Chicago Bears win over Minnesota last night because more than any game. I remember this year with Minnesota coming off a bye. And the prior week. I was on Philadelphia similar scenario to where you know. Philly's. Coming up against Dallas. Although Dallas, you know, not near the team the hub of New Orleans, and you know, so Dallas was coming off that loss to Tennessee. I'm thinking of Phillies just gonna crush them at home in Dallas takes them out. But yesterday off the bye, you would have thought Minnesota would have had a little bit more for Chicago. But it's the bears that have built themselves into a pretty good team and Nagy's doing a nice job. And what was your question? As far as Minnesota, Chicago. What about the game your take on the game? Waiting there for a second. There. Think about that. Yeah. I originally thought that I would prefer Minnesota in this game. The more. I looked at it. I realized because I felt up this Minnesota team is not nearly as good as the team from last year on both sides of the football the thoughts as far as the Vikings go everyone's talking about who did Chicago. But yeah, they had been the team with a winning record new head Minnesota. So my thoughts were Minnesota was not as good as when I looked at it a little bit more because my initial Minnesota Minnesota's not as good as last year and the bears are considerably better than last year on both sides of the football and they're getting better. And then of course, as you and I talked about earlier today. I said, you know. A handicap on the basis of one game. Look at what the Buffalo Bills did going into Minnesota and routing them on the early in the season. And then look what Chicago did what two weeks ago going into Buffalo Bills on the road. Now that doesn't necessarily equate to how these teams promoted against one another. But I think it does suggest that hey, maybe this Minnesota team is not as good as last year. And maybe Chicago is indeed better especially defensively. So the more that I thought about it the more that I felt that Chicago was going to be the right side last night. Unfortunately, had already I had already made a case publicly Minnesota's I couldn't really backtrack on that. But the more I thought about the more I like Chicago, I know you'd like Chicago the entire week. Yeah. Now, Patrick Mahomes was.

"Wow. I didn't know that. So how soon does he have to do that to got one hundred thirty four yards left? Yes. So so we could do it this game. But I'm saying like who's who like I'm trying to who is second. Or I right now is. Oh, find okay. Something called Google where you can looking at Asir tain that he's the fan my head to type in the words, it has so far not read my mind. But it's coming that actually that I get that. That's coming. I wanted now. So our our score as we wait to find out the fastest wide receiver to ten thousand yards in history. Oh, I'm still is the Atlanta Falcons three. Oh, it's three the Washington. Redskins won. Oh, yeah. She got. Okay. Decimal system urban, and yeah, yeah. She got it. Okay. Three to one. I mean, it's it's probably likely the falcons win this game. Anyway, what what's a record three and four three and four. Yes. Yeah. All right and Washington's five two. Yeah. Yeah. But that's a cheap vire. And though they never looked at every game. I've seen them play. They don't look good. I like Alex Smith, but he's not exactly doing an okay job. But I don't know that they have the talent to get there. You know to the. Playoffs. Even so Calvin John Kevin Johnson megatonne for Detroit. Did it one hundred fifteen games? Wow. And Julio's through one hundred one he's. He's going to break. He's going to break did not real might be this week. It'd be kind of fun. All right. Let me tell you about brickhouse nutrition while we're waiting for our next contestant. Hopefully in DC before the show ends, otherwise it's a three sit on this league win. Right. We're sitting on this legal. You might just be stalling out the clock. All right. What what are you gonna keep in renting your library? No goal of creating a real SuperFood was what brickhouse nutrition hadn't. So they did they created field of greens, which is a real SuperFood. And you can even check out the nutrition facts panel on the side because it is actual food. Not just an extract of some sort. So one scoop field of greens is a full.

"The Atlanta Falcons. It wasn't easy. And it was rather sporadic. But Nick foles eagles quarterback. So they never got down. I think when you have a team like that threw out a tough game like this where there's not a lot of rhythm. I mean, that's how you have to win games. You lean on each other. You never turn on each other. And that's what's built here. That's the character of this team. Foles threw for only one hundred seventeen yards. No touchdowns one interception. Tiger woods. Sean is lowest scored an opening run. A nearly twenty years yesterday and finds himself tied with Rory mcilroy for the lead at the BMW championships both shot eight under par sixty two one. Stroke ahead of Andrew schlafly woods had a twenty nine on his first nine yesterday. Justin Thomas is tied for third with a sixty four. Serena Williams, reach the US open. Final for the ninth time. The twenty three time grand slam champion will take on surprising ailment Osaka in Saturday's final after winning yesterday's six three six love over anesthesia Stover couldn't have predicted this at all. This is just the beginning of my return. I'm still on the way up and you don't reach. Your best couple months. And that's kind of where I am now. So I just feel like there's a lot of growth to still go and my game. And that's actually the most exciting part back after giving birth to her daughter. Serena reached the final of Wimbledon and now is in the final of the US open as well. Louisville's twenty four th ranked women's soccer team suffered its first loss last night Purdue as Louisville in west via two to one cardinals.
