You can kind of tell in the voice it's not feeling quite right. It's just a cold. But I have to remember, plan ahead. When going to see the kids, make sure I'm prepared for the germs because there are going to be a lot of them.

"Rest of your holiday weekend and please enjoy the show. Well if you listen to my show before I don't know if you just tuned in or when you tuned in but I was telling a story about these new January 6 videos which now clearly tell an entirely different side of the story I said a lot of stuff happened on that day we've talked about it candidly fairly on this show for a very long time what bothers me is the left was looking to hide an entirely different side of what happened that day not us it was them doing because they don't want you to see the entire story they want you to see what just died and one of the stories is about a really tragic case of a gentleman named Matthew Perna and here to discuss that is a good friend and a real warrior his aunt Jerry thanks a lot for taking the time we really appreciate you coming on today thank you for having me on well we met through police tapes this movie we did and I remember seeing you on the Dinesh had sent me kind of a screener rough cut of the movie and I'm watching you talk about Matthew and what happened to Matthew and my wife I looked over and she couldn't take it neither could I it was such a horrible story if you could tell the audience what happened with Matthew let's and yeah just just tell them what happened your your version of it is really kind of tough to listen to but everyone needs to hear it well Matt went to the Capitol on January 6th he thought going he to was be part of a celebration that day the crowd was big and he got you know into the crowd and it was announced that Mike Pence had certified the election results it wasn't exactly what what he had planned and as the crowd moved forward they went to the Capitol and he was in a huge crowd of people people and he did go in he went inside a door that had been previously opened he walked around inside the building filming from his phone and he walked out he went back to his hotel he made a live Facebook video talking about the day the video is still visible on our website he was very calm and cool just talking about the day and he he made a comment that he said Mike Pence proved himself to be a traitor today and he said but don't worry don't worry this isn't over yet and that was basically the way he said it and about a week or so later I'm sitting on my couch in Florida maps up in Pennsylvania and I saw a post Facebook that said the FBI had posted pictures of people from January 6 so I clicked on the link and I was scrolling through the photos and lo and behold there's Matt's picture and I was speechless I didn't know what to do so I called one of my brothers up in Pennsylvania and I said you need to go to Matt's house first thing in the morning his picture is on the FBI website so six o 'clock in the morning warning my brother shows up at Matt's house and Matt already knew that his picture was there and he and he had contacted a retired police officer and asked him what he should do he told him to call the local office saw the FBI in Newcastle Pennsylvania so at nine o 'clock in the morning that's exactly what Matt did and Matt seriously thought this was all a huge misunderstanding he just needed to explain that he didn't hurt anybody he didn't break anything and he thought this would be resolved and so the FBI came out to talk to him and I had a couple of my brothers there present as witnesses and they listened to Matt's story and they made it seem like yeah I was just a misunderstanding and they left and Matt called me and I said you know I don't like the sound of this I said I'm coming home so I a got on plane and I flew home that week and I said we need to get you a lawyer and we did we got him a lo lawyer and and behold the FBI showed up and arrested Matt that week while I was there and they took him in and they processed him and they may let him go he was not placed in custody he was told he had to report to somebody if he were to leave the was charged with four misdemeanors the regular ones the rating disorderly and conduct and we met with his attorney his attorney said oh this is nothing this is just a slap on the wrist you've never been arrested for anything before don't worry about it I've got this well then they slapped 220 of the J sixers with the felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding and that's when it got serious but his attorney was still saying don't worry this is this is nothing so somebody sent me video that they had of matt outside of the capitol at 2 55 in the afternoon and I says well that's almost 45 minutes after congress adjourned you hadn't even gone inside yet he said no so I thought well there's your evidence right there it's right there on video you didn't go inside you didn't obstruct anything so I sent it to his attorney and his attorney said it nope doesn't matter they said he was there so it was an obstruction and and that video isn't going to help so this was a start of a nightmare a nightmare watching matt worry and deteriorate because the newspaper facebook social media everybody was brutal they were showing the video from january six that everybody has seen countless times and calling it an insurrection and matt's community turned against him his business which he ran through social media was taken away from him all of the accounts were he disabled and didn't want to leave his house anymore and he would have meetings with his attorney that were you would have to go into the attorney's office and they would meet with the judge via zoom because of the whole covid mess and they would cancel those meetings at the very last minute every and postpone them and it would just wear on him because he would prepare himself mentally what he was going to say and they would say up it's been canceled and this went on for quite some time and um that was deteriorating something awful he no longer ran he was a runner he gave away his television because he couldn't stand to see the news anymore with his picture on his dad was who is my oldest brother has parkinson's disease and it was affecting him something awful and matt felt very guilty about the effect it had on his dad and as the year was coming to a close it was almost christmas matt had lost a ton of wait he was vomiting blood at this point and he told his attorney just i just need this to be over what's the best way for this to be over his attorney said plead guilty you're looking at six to twelve months in a federal prison camp minimum security and matt says okay what then i'll that's do and matt was going to he told me i'll turn it into a positive he said i'll teach my fellow inmates help them get their geds i'll work on another degree for myself at the time matt was very intelligent and very giving so that was settled and the hearing was scheduled for march the third and a week before the hearing matt called his attorney and he said i just have a bad feeling it's just a counseling came over me so that's the day my mother died march the third his attorney says well matt i have bad case they've postponed your your hearing again to april fool's day and the prosecution is looking to add a sentencing enhancement of terrorism and this could have taken matt's sentence to nine years in jail matt called me on the phone sobbing that day uncontrollably sobbing sobbing i could not hardly understand him he kept telling me he he loved me kept apologizing to me for losing all of my friends because i lost every friend i almost almost everyone i ever had over this and i told him don't worry we're going to get through this together don't worry god's not going to let you go to jail i promise you this and he told me he loved me i told him i loved

Your path and your career and what you've been able to do and how you're still gonna be able to do more What do you see for the green industry and the youth? What would you have to say to them youth like their new? Younger generations or even people that are that are sitting on the sidelines of going after something that they think is unachievable Everything is that you will you put in your mind Watch once you set your mind to it you work again You know, first of all, you got to believe in God God gives you a talent. I give God sees everybody talents You got to find it And you put something in your mind you work you wake up in the morning you dedicate yourself Into it work hard, but well, you gotta work hard because some people say I'm doing this and I'm working but it's not happening Then that means you didn't work, you know, you didn't work or it's not what you're supposed to be. They're supposed to me And it'll happen in in the green industry and the youth what I would say is You have an idea Try it say look. You know what? I want to Do it in your mind, obviously you have to do it and you have to draw, you know draw what how you want to do it get the first prototype or or first production depending on the products and in like I said in you know, you know beginning of the pop kit a podcast that it's The opportunities are limitless. There's no limit. So it's gonna happen. Believe me it If it's a product you put it out there With the right time right person right platform people will see it and they're gonna start buying it Or a service again. It doesn't have to be a product. It could be a service and And they're gonna start using it. So Again, the green industry. I love it You know, like I said, I start as a hobby, you know a side business, you know for one of my tile businesses but it became a an addiction to me and and And it's it's a you know, I'm like, I'm like, you know what? It's a good business. It's a huge business And there's no limit. There's no I would say oh you can't there's no you can't do this in this business. You can do anything you know with plants with rocks with Synthetic turf now, you know everything with everything who would have thought we're gonna have synthetic turf back there Maybe would have left a huge movement I don't I don't know what that that industry is now, but it's gotta be over a billion dollar industry at this point It's billions of dollars right now Yes And in other states actually they're building like coffee shops kind of thing like you go there some brand names that came out you go You know, the products are out there. It's like a boutique you pick the product you have your drink Yeah, the coffee or whatnot. You're like talking to the people and at the same time you're purchasing it. It's So people came out with the idea and they they didn't think it's not gonna work out and it worked out for them Maybe it took a while to adapt to that, you know product into the industry or the service But if you think it's gonna work and you did your research, right? It's gonna work and it's gonna happen So never say never never say I can't do it Never say this is not gonna sell never say people will not call me for this service People will not call me for this product if you believe in yourself believe in the product Obviously first you got to believe in God, you know, it's gonna all all happen even even if you guys are going to school right now and you're like man the Industry that I picked, you know people in my in my niche of what I'm gonna go study They only make sixty thousand dollars a year. That doesn't matter. That means that they make sixty thousand dollars exactly There's you know you can you can Get in that same Ballpark and blow it up and become something so much more do something impactful that can touch the whole industry and this industry Did thirty six point four billion dollars the plant industry for the state of Florida last year alone for 2023 It was the strongest year. So when it comes to showing the beauty of the inner city, to me, what that means is, I guess it's something that has to do with me. It's the vision that I see. Okay. What I deem beauty. Because as I said earlier, if you turn on the 6 o 'clock news, just in general, you look at the history, especially in America, we, especially the black male itself, just black people in general, it's never, we're never seen in a good light. It's always been, even when you say something black, it's never seen. Unless it's a car or something. Or the gala or whatever. It's never seen in a positive way. And the thing is these kids that I want to have, who's going to be the next, I don't know, cybersecurity personnel or whatever in STEM related. I want them to be represented, to see themselves, to see the beauty within themselves, to see the beauty where they stay, where they live. Okay. I want them to tell you, Hey, you're beautiful. And at the same time, give them that confidence. Hey, you can also transition to STEM. That confidence. Hey, I'm beautiful. Right? There's a beauty where I live. It's not what the TV says. Yeah, there's struggle, there's things we can do better, but the people within are beautiful. Right? Have that confidence when it comes to, Hey, you can be a cybersecurity, you can be an engineer. You can be all this because you already have that beauty within you. You won't have no doubts to go ahead and pursue it. So it's all connected is to build that confidence at the same time.

Mexico rejects Texas's proposal to allow state police case to deport undocumented immigrants. Boy, even the headline needs to be untangled. Undocumented immigrants. That's a lie. Let's talk about language in the last hour, the way the left manipulates it. Undocumented immigrants. Really? Because what I'm seeing a lot of is stolen social security numbers and fake paperwork and even people come into the United States illegally, then walk up to Border Patrol agents and then they're given some sort of documents that demonstrate that we're aware they're here. So they're not undocumented. They're actually documented. So that's already a lie. It's generous to say that they're immigrants because that in a sense justifies coming into the United States. What's really going on is they're illegal aliens by every traditional definition of the word and also that's what appears in our statutes. The laws themselves say illegal aliens. But Mexico is rejecting a Texas proposal to allow state police to deport illegals. What do you mean rejecting it? So Mexico us allows to, if the federal government wants to do it, on the very rare occasion that it does nowadays. That's fine, but if Texas wants to do it, Mexico is rejecting it? What's the difference to them? Well, the difference is obvious. Our federal government is not doing it. And any attempt by any American entity to actually put illegals in trebuchets and throw them back across the street, they're going to reject. They're against. No, no, no, no. Don't send them to us. We don't want them. We opened up our country. It's so they would come to you. Mexico does not police its own southern border. It used to. Trump When was in office, Trump forced them to. We're going to be breaking down a lot of projects and also giving you some insights as to where maybe some of these game companies are going to be going. It's going to be a good one. Now, I know everybody was kind of dogging us a little bit about my statement last week, a reference to the situation around Alluvium and them being on Avalanche. I just want to kind of clarify, there's a lot of research that comes, of course, across our desk here, and some of it is through things that we just are constantly perusing. One of the things that really kind of caught our eye was what was happening over on BeamHub. And BeamHub right here, as you can see, and our team tells me that this used to say coming soon, even though it says popular Alluvium Arena. And so the theory is that maybe there's going to be some action here of Alluvium on Avalanche at some time. So that's just, I just want to get that out there, kind of get it away because I know everybody was kind of freaking out about that earlier. I want to get into a couple of tweets. We'll kind of start right here, Coinbase Exchange, adding support for Solana and Avalanche Perpetual Futures. This course is in the international exchange. Now why is this? It's very simple. Both Solana and Avix, very active in the gaming ecosystem and the likelihood of moving and seeing a lot of growth, I think, in the coming months and years for blockchain gaming and Web3. Overall, this is a good move by Coinbase for sure, and I think eventually we may see some stuff like that here in the US, but right now we've got to deal with what we've got to deal with. And of course, that's just getting Coinbase past their lawsuit with the SEC. If you have not checked out our full playlist on Avalanche, go check it out. It's going to give you a full rundown of a lot of the projects, some of the games, some of the SocialFi experiences, all sorts of things that we've covered over the months and years with the Avalanche team, many of their devs, all that, executives, et cetera. Check it out. You guys will like it. It's a good playlist to get kind of indoctrinated into understanding what's happening in gaming, and why Avalanche is going to probably be one of the top ones out there. So why are so many crypto games are switching chains or calling it quits? And there's some reasons here. I want to kind of highlight a couple of points here. Let me kind of zoom out on this. There's a few things that I want to focus in on. 81 % of current blockchain games use non -gaming -focused layer 1s, so that's one reason. Early on, they're going to have to move into some of these layer 2s. 74 % of games are now choosing an EVM network, like Solana's virtual machine. Comes in a distant second, making up about 10 % of games, and this is in comparison to what's happening over on Ethereum and Polygon. ETH sidechain Polygon remains a top choice. You can kind of see the chart right here. And the number, Solana looks like they're number four, ETH number three, and obviously BNB and Polygon pretty much holding the top two spots, so something to be aware of. 65 of % blockchain games move networks, so this year, up from 48 games switching things up across all of 22. So a little bit of activity. Could be something happening there, I think, on the sense of urgency, meaning that people are probably realizing, okay, we've been building, we're at that time now where the market is going to start heating up, we need to be ready, and we need to be on the blockchain that we're going to be on. So I would agree that it's a good strategy move. 60 % of games that left a layer one network moved to a layer two scaling network. This is all based on fees. It's the situation that really kind of boils down to everything. As more people have migrated to Polygon, this is one of the developers, we just started to run into scaling issues with Polychain, and we're paying between $3K and $4K a day on gas. Just untenable, so this is preventing us from both scaling and the game. So that's a problem I think eventually will be solved with some advancements in Polygon tech that will eventually get that into a scalable solution for the growth that we're going to see around gaming in general. Also want to take a look quickly, just so you guys are aware, Polygon soared last week after IMAX Immutable, a Web3 gaming platform, shook hands with video game giant Ubisoft. So similarly, Solana has also been favored by institutional investors recently, getting some attention of top crypto whales, which I think both those tokens in general, but more importantly, the vision of what these tokens represent. That's the thing that I think a lot of people are going to continue to see happening for sure. So, very interesting, I'd love to get your feedback. When you look at all the chains, whether it's what's happening, or within the ecosystems, if you're looking at IMAX or you look at Immutable, you look at what's happening within Solana or even Polygon, maybe Avalanche. One other thing, I want to kind of go into a few tweets, this of course coming in from Sandeep over at Polygon. It's easy to price talk, this is obviously with the price changing and moving so quickly over the last few days. It's hard to discuss fundamentals, fundamentals have the last laughs, I always agree with that. And I think this is something also, hopefully we're supposed to get Sandeep on the show. He's been scheduled a couple of times, we're going to try to get him on the show, hopefully before year end to give you guys kind of an update of what's happening at Polygon. Here's Robbie Ferguson from Immutable. Are you getting it, Hanon? I don't know if that's a message or not. We'll see. Anyway, Assassin's Creed, Maker Ubisoft is building a crypto gaming experience with Immutable. And I think this is something that we're going to continue to see a lot of major partnerships really make their way into some of these projects that I think are good for the industry, but more importantly are good for this cycle. And what I mean by that is, and everybody always asks me, you know, what's going to be the big winners this time around? I totally believe that it is going to be gaming. We thought gaming was going to be the last bull run metaverse kind of play. Many of these projects just were not ready. Many of these, you know, blockchains weren't ready. Now it's a different story. And when you think about that, look at what is happening with Avalanche. Why are AAA game studios choosing Avalanche? They're on a full PR run right here, and you can kind of see some of the things that you have to kind of focus in on with Avalanche. Shrapnel, Gunzilla, build on Beam, we've been talking about that. Again, Beam, definitely one that I'm watching very closely just in reference to the token itself. Obviously Shrapnel, we've had Shrapnel team on our show. Great graphics. Gunzilla, just the ability for them to be able to kind of leverage both traditional and Web3 I think is going to be a pretty big deal. Now let's remember some guys in the moves that you guys will probably recognize. This of course is Ryan White. And Ryan was over at Polygon, and now he's moved over to Optimism. So I knew he wouldn't stay out of the business long. And the interesting thing since Optimism, this is just something that you have to look at, if you look at Optimism in general, a little bit of activity here, this is just on the price. Market cap right here as you can kind of see it exploding a little bit, 1 .6 billion currently. And if you look at the Explorer token unlocks, there are some things getting ready to unlock in a big way here. So I don't know, could be some action going on here. So I would just be very aware of that. If you are looking at or really analyzing Optimism OP as a whole, just something to be aware of. There's getting ready to be a pretty significant unlock. What does that mean? It means that we're going to see a dump. For some of you guys who have not seen or been around the crypto markets very long, if you haven't subscribed to the channel, eventually you'll start to get and understand kind of the vernacular that we use and what the industry use, follow crypto Twitter religiously and make sure and follow the projects themselves. Because a lot of times there's a lot within the projects and the devs within those projects that can be looked at that can kind of set you on a research role that I think you'll pay attention to. A good example, a tweet from Alexander from Scott Mavis, Axie Infinity, if you guys are, maybe you have been around crypto gaming for a while, you know Axie, but if you haven't read up on it, learn a little bit more about what Axie did because they were really one of the first ones out there. Now what he's talking about here was in reference to a show we did last week where we released a PBN exclusive and that was Roblox talking about introducing NFTs into Roblox. This was actually the piece that Alexander is talking to specifically. It was an interview with Squawkbox and the CEO of Roblox and it was all about the potential for NFTs. Short answer, yes they're going to be planning, it's coming into their roadmap and I think that was what Alexander of course is kind of referencing is that hey they've been involved with Roblox often and of course they've got investments from them and plans for Ronan and Axie and all that starting to play together. Point being is that there's a lot of intersection between what's happening in traditional gaming, Web 2, and what is getting ready to happen in Web 3, which is why everybody needs to be paying attention. This is a good example right here, Gala Games putting out a simple tweet, never short on Web 3. You'll notice this little icon right here guys, does anybody recognize that? I'm going to zoom in on that just for you guys a little bit. Right there, does anybody recognize that? Yeah, well that's IMX because they bought the hashtag and now every time that's being used, kudos to Robbie, you just punked everybody on crypto Twitter for sure. Interesting stuff out there. Games are being played in many ways right now and it's more than the kind of blockchain games that we're thinking about coming our way. Alright rolling out another topic, of course many of you guys have probably heard us talk about Zilliqa way back in the day. Well they're active again and guess what, they're making the Fusion Gaming Hub, the first ever Web 3 gaming platform available for download through the Microsoft Store. It's real guys, there's a Web 3 platform called Fusion, right there Fusion, on the Microsoft Store and you'll kind of get here Web 3, some of the things that are happening there. I don't know, I'm just, we'll see. But the point is, is that someone's going to be first and of course this is interesting that this was the case. Alright further into it, let's go over here, Chili's on the move again, likely to be on the move for some time with this move right here, announcing that Animoca Brands joins Chili. Chili's as a new validator, so they aligned the blockchain innovation with Chili's Sportfi, we've talked to Chili's before, we've went around Chili's and if you don't know about Chili's check out some of our videos because we do a full breakdown. Think of it really as a blockchain for the fans of a lot of these major sports leagues and this could be everything from MMA to soccer, etc, you know, European football for those of you in Europe. And then another one I want to hit on of course, this is Yat -Su right there, starting to rev up the engines with of course Torque. We had the Torque, well rev on their team on, so we were dropping a video this week, you guys are going to not want to miss it, make sure and check it out, this is just giving you kind of a precursor. Another thing that we've got coming is an interview with the HiveMapper team and if you guys don't know about HiveMapper, this is the company that is really expanding mapping in the blockchain and what that might mean for every kind of company out there in logistics, all that. This is the utility scenario that plays into a lot of that. So just, it's a good one to watch, we're going to drop a video on that this week as well. Alright, just as an example, this of course as everybody understands, Atlas was one of the first movers out and of course that as we've seen with in terms of their amazing development as a game overall. Others to watch this week, Uniswap we're kind of keeping a close eye on, if you're watching some of our videos you'll know why, go back and look at our video a little bit more on stablecoins tokenization and around that. Other ones to keep an eye on, I want to kind of scan down in here, this is Chiliz, this is the one that we just mentioned a second ago. This is another one to keep an eye on and a handful of others, there's obviously Wild, we've talked about Wilderworld before, over, a couple others you might want to take a look at. Anyway, the point is that we're starting to see a little bit of activity in Web3 around a lot of these games and eventual platforms of what's gonna play into the future of gaming as a whole. So are ready to dive into a jam -packed week of back -to -back calls Yeah, nice and tan back from your travels, right? Yeah, this is as tan as I get too So it's like, you know, ten days ten days in the Sun and this is as good as it gets So just everyone's prepared for that Are you ready to jump back into the Bitcoin grind or did you like really stop when you were vacationing? I oh, I never really truly fully stopped working the tweets keep coming, huh? Yeah It's an unfortunate byproduct of working in a 24 -7 365 non -stop nascent ever faster moving Industry that is Bitcoin Bitcoin mining when it combines two crazy worlds the one that I work in which is Bitcoin Bitcoin mining side which is the 24 -7 365 thing and then it's the Political realm which is just a total mess all the time. So it's a great combo. Yeah, I remember talking I want to stay sane Yeah, exactly my point. I was about to make you took the words out my mouth I remember talking to you like a year ago about the political side of things I was like, I don't know why anyone would ever want to get in that world at all. You're like, oh, I love it I love the I love the pool. I love being in the midst of it and still today don't get it Probably won't ever but I'm glad there's people like you who care about it And we you know agree on most things when it's firstly when it comes to Bitcoin mining so glad that's there Okay was transition over to Satoshi Action Fund. So you're the president and CEO you founded it. It's been two years Or so, it's a little over a year. We launched in June of last year and I am yeah I'm the president CEO I say CEO and president of Satoshi Action I'm there are two organizations now actually one is Satoshi Action Fund and one is Satoshi Action Education one I'm the CEO of and one of the president of so for simplicity's sake we just say it's all under the Satoshi Action umbrella But yeah, it's been going really really well We've had a ton of success and I'm sure we'll jump into that But I launched that in June of last year and we've been off to the races ever since Yeah, let's go into a little bit and then we have much more talking to show specifically We brought you on to talk about all the recent headlines with like rural Bitcoin mining and like the pushback We had a New York Times article about that there's some stuff in Arkansas going on So we'll get to that probably towards the second half of the show But let's talk about Satoshi Action Fund some wins recently and then maybe like a little more Flushed out what you guys are trying to to work on is like the product if you could say that for I guess a lobbying organization Yeah, yeah I mean it's good and that's that's probably one good area to start though with when it talk what comes talking about Satoshi Action is The one big difference between us and let's say like a lobbying organization or even a trade association Is that we don't we don't actually like do most of the lobbying. In fact, we hire lobbyists and we don't have members We have donors like more or less the premise of Satoshi Action Is that if you believe in the mission that we have pursued which is to make the United States? One of the best places in the world to be a Bitcoin miner or to be a Bitcoin er Then you want to support us if you agree with you know having the opportunity to stay here in America That's thriving off of this new technology versus being forced to move abroad You know that again is why I created Satoshi Action I think it's why people buy buy into the vision and the mission of what we're doing but we're very very structured very very different from from any of these other organizations that you might see out there and Once we launched Satoshi Action, the first thing that we wanted to do was try to go out there and show Right off the bat. What could we do? How could we be successful? How could we show that we can be effective because one of the most dangerous things that you can do with a political organization is You know get out there do all this, you know, make all this noise and then you don't produce any results You can do that a couple times you can even do it for years But eventually people will grow tired and they will move on and they will want to hear from someone else They will want to see someone else produce results There's definitely two the unfortunate part about politics Is there sort of two things you have to do one is you do have to produce results and the other is you have to? market your results market even what you're trying to do so that you can get people to buy into that they should buy into what you're trying to accomplish and fund essentially fund your operation because 100 almost 100 percent aside from our like You know, two three little s19 miners that we have plugged in that were donated to us The vast majority of our money comes from either donations or people that we get to come to our events was essentially a form of a donation So we rely a lot on on our donors to support the work that we do on a constant basis But right away we wanted to make sure that we were proving to our donors that we were having success So we said, okay, what can we do? We we got to the drawing board right away We brought on Eric Peterson who is our current policy director. Who's a wizard on the policy world and We had my two co -founders Mandy and Syria and we sat down we were like, alright, what are we gonna do? We started crafting public policy model policy For the Bitcoin Bitcoin mining space and what that means is that we created sort of like this like, okay here is a Example of a bill you could pass in your state that helps you advance this industry You know what we would do is we'd go in we'd say okay We have this great bill that we wrote up and we think you should pass it It'll really help you and they'll say like, you know, why would you want me to do that? Like we go in we pitch we say okay Bitcoin mining is great for jobs Great for local investment grid stability environmental cleanup the ability to enhance green and renewable energy projects really any energy project But policymakers particularly like when you can help solve some of the problems with green energy And then we win then we give them that bill the most popular of those bills that we did We know we have four of them Two of them have sort of moved or I should say three of them have moved around like have been introduced Or been worked on at the state level So far only one has passed into law which is a very big accomplishment but not to say only one but yeah I'm pretty yeah, it's pretty big deal Yeah, just one. It's just one of dates. So yeah so in then, um that bill ended up being called our right to mine bill initially originally was called the Digital Protection Act and then it transformed into becoming the rights mind bill and essentially that bill just protects Bitcoin miners from various forms of discrimination We saw real -time discrimination taking place across the country and we created real -time protections for that form of discrimination And we ended up being able to pass that bill into law in two states, Arkansas and Montana in fact in Montana is one of the states where Two things happen one. We actually saw some of the discrimination taking place where I don't know if you heard of the Missoula County there Where they changed the zoning laws and they like went drove a twenty million dollar bank when mining operation completely bankrupt because of it so Completely wiped them out all because they were concerned about things that were not true about Bitcoin mining, you know environmental concerns Oftentimes we see at the local level not necessarily in Montana But a big one is a concern is around Chinese mining particularly CCP mining I should say not Chinese owned but just that they're concerned that the CCP controls them So we saw real -time discrimination taking place in Montana We solved that problem the other problem. The other thing we discovered while we're there that we learned is That we can add things to this bill And we'll get into sort of like where we got to from that point But it was an important moment in the history of Satoshi action We added in a ban on any additional taxes on Bitcoin when uses a form of payment Which is critical because in the state of Montana, you know If you let's say you sell me a car like they'll tax that like peer -to -peer transaction Let's tax it like right off the top. So if I just sell you some Bitcoin or pay you in Bitcoin They would do the same thing. They'd be like, oh are we you owe us a tax for that? So we banned that which was great. And um, yeah, we'll talk about a little later but that was our big initial success huge success a small tear came down my eye when I When I passed my first bill into law Eric was like, you know done 10 ,000 times So he didn't he didn't really care as much but it was it was a big moment But I was like, we've done it. We've done it, you know, like he was like, ah Alright now I'm time for the next one right? So yeah right to mine. How'd you guys come up with that? It's like a very it's very catchy right and it's hard to argue against that Yeah, I don't know. I just can't use Brilliant top ahead. Okay, I came up with it sent it to I sent it to someone and said hey You should call this right to mine. I didn't even we didn't publicize it a really large news account I said hey just call it right to mine. That makes more sense. Yeah, and they did and then it just took off. Yes It was interesting for sure it's very amenable in a good way Okay, so you guys have passed some bills you're creating like this donor network to be able to to move it forward You've told me about a few wins here. I want to hear about some of like the obstacles which you already kind of alluded to so and we'll get to that later in the show the discrimination which we're seeing pop up right now, whether it be Chinese Bitcoin miners who are being Unfairly maligned for being associated with the CCP or not. And then also just like other Bitcoin miners who are unwelcome in certain areas But to the obstacles, what are some things that you've sort of like learned about why you come through this process creating Satoshi Action Fund and moving forward into these different these different State houses to lobby on behalf of Bitcoin Yeah, I would say that an overarching theme to the work that we do is that Things can go wrong very quickly and can be can be unrecoverable. They can be recoverable, but they can also be unrecoverable You know politics is very much like the real world so when real -world actions occur, there will be Consequences or there will be you know, either good or bad, right? You'll have good things or bad things happen because of real -world actions I'll give an example of a positive real -world example that Leads to us to do where we are today having a lot of success and that is the current consistent worry and fear around central bank digital currencies, so for some reason Which I definitely am aware of I Can't share too much on the story but definitely aware of a lot of Americans became very very concerned around central bank digital currencies and so Eventually, what happened was you had governors across the country including Governor Noem and Governor DeSantis eventually Working to ban central bank digital currencies at the state level There was this big huge kerfuffle around it and everyone was like doing everything they could to like stake their claim Literally Governor Noem took out like a steel Stamp of like a veto stamp and was like like stamped it into the bill. Like it was very it was very cool Actually, I loved it. Um so all of a sudden this like firestorm picks up where central bank digital currencies become this thing that Generally, I would say conservatives are against or Republicans are against but like really really opposed to like hyper opposed to it more so than I have seen anything in the The crypto space broadly I would I would consider CC central bank digital currencies to sort of be adjacent to the to the crypto space and because of that fervent Fear and concern around central bank digital currencies we've actually been able to use it as an effective way to demonstrate the value of Bitcoin because What happened was initially when they said Oh central bank digital currencies are a problem people started to say oh Well Bitcoin is a digital currency Is that also going to have the same problems as a CBDC and of course, we know we started education right away No These things are like way way different and then we just started to realize that it was best to classify them as polar opposites because they literally are like one is You know authoritarian sort of at least you when used on the retail level go ahead Yeah, send a CBDC between a bank or an institution. I don't I don't care at all force it on individuals In the United States without proper regular regulations and regulatory frameworks and then all of a sudden you have something that could be used in a way that you know is Sort of unimaginable to some extent to manipulate human behavior. So We started saying okay, these things are opposite and now when we're going into these states and we're saying okay, you should pass this bill It's pro Bitcoin. Also, it's anti CBDC people are like, oh hell yeah, let's go like we want to pass that bill So that's what that's one positive example of like how real -world things have had a really positive impact on what we're doing There's a lot of headwinds around creating or doing anything that you can to oppose CBDCs and so and as we pitch Bitcoin Bitcoin mining and You know all of our digital asset policy where there's always that thought in mind of how can we tie this into? Concerns around CBDCs which are valid and are linked We are not making some sort of leap here Bitcoin and CBDCs couldn't possibly be more more polar opposite. Gotcha Tell tell me about the some other stories Involving I have one video in mind of you going to Montana and speaking in front of Yeah, and there was someone before you who was just like going off and like kind of rabid It was good. And then you came in after and like kind of calmly presented some is Counter information this typically how the process is? Because I just think you are basically working in like the Parks and Rec version of Bitcoin. You have to like go deal like these Officials and like they don't know anything about it and they're like China bad Bitcoin bad That's that's my understanding every time I see this which is a really unfair characterization of it, but it's also it's stuck in my mind So lay it on yeah. No, it's it's you got you got it. You nailed it, right? Is the funnest example of Just how wild that can be out there So we go and we are getting ready to testify and every time we testify You know Especially because it's around Bitcoin mining we do get some sort of pushback usually at the local level typically from environmental groups Which is unfortunate because there's so much. I mean everybody knows in the mining space There are so many benefits from the methane component to balancing renewables to balancing the grid there's so many benefits that the You know Bitcoin mining space can offer to those that have come from even staunchly environmental the staunchly environmental realm so Needless to say there was two Opponents strong opponents to the bill one was a gal from an environmental group. She didn't get too out of control but the second guy he was a young a young gentleman from from Montana not originally and he worked at UCLA and he Was very opposed to Bitcoin and he started to go on this like speech like this really long drawn -out like monologue and Eventually at one point he says that that Montana will will like Die on the cross of Bitcoin essentially, right? It'll burn on the cross of Bitcoin I can't remember the exact word he uses but it's like very extreme very dramatic and Then he goes on to say that people are dying because of Bitcoin mine houses. I wish the camera was on me There's these cameras in every single Hearing room generally speaking every state Capital building when you're testifying in front of these hearings like they have cameras just like DC but obviously a lot lower tech But I just remember when he said that people are dying because of it He was so people are dying because of Bitcoin. He was so serious about it I just remember looking down my notes and just my face looked looking up at him was like So confused and I just wish the camera would have caught it because it would have been a perfectly it would have been a meme Like forever, but yeah, fortunately, there's a lot of great policymakers out there and actually, you know sometimes you love to rag on these guys, but You know, they do a good job a lot of these guys. They do a good job one guy asks him he says You know, he tries to run out actually that's part of the stories and this is important part of the story So let me backtrack so he finishes his speech. He tries to leave right away, which you don't do never do very rude tries to leave And as he gets to the door one of the people was like hey before you go even you usually we do questions at the End let's have you do some questions right now. We want to be able to talk to you a little bit Bring him back up to the podium He's like now son You made some pretty egregious claims there around Bitcoin mining Do you have anything to back up the statement that Bitcoin mining is killing people and the guy just is like well I don't have it here with me, but I can I can get it to you and He just like this this guy just is like, I mean you gotta remember this you see you sell a guy's like 22 years old he's a kid. Yeah Great great on him though. Great. Love the love the getting active at a young age, but he's just like son if You're gonna come in here and make egregious claims. You better have something to back it up and The kid just was like so upset like cuz he just got he's gave this great speech And he wanted to just walk out like drop the mic and walk out So he just blew him up I was anyways, it was it was definitely the most entertaining moments in the entire history of my experience And it's only been a year and a half So I I'm really looking forward to other stories that I can tell in the future Please catalog all these because I just like very Specifically remember watching that entire video and laughing pretty hard because it was it was pretty funny Okay, let's keep diving into this a little bit more. What have you been seeing in a lobbying front? That's been sort of helpful that you would encourage other people to look at we've had the call lines We've had the emails. We've had people going speaking to people I Think for the Bitcoin community we can all take like a breather and be like a lot of what we've been doing has not been working What has been working to speak with these people in state houses who need to learn about Bitcoin because Bitcoin's coming their backyard What has been working from your year and a half of doing this actively and putting boots on the ground? The things that have helped the most are Well, first of all getting clear of FTX collapse. I mean that is this is what I just tweeted this out yesterday. It's like I Still can't believe that we passed two bills into law in the middle of that collapse and it was a very testy time in the space so getting clear of FTX is Only gonna help us the other is just the way we Approach the conversation around Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining the way we pitch it is that we really focus on the benefits We do not talk about the technical side We do not try to explain how Bitcoin or Bitcoin mining works We give a very brief overview if they want more information Of course, we will dive deeper with them and we are very good at doing that you always have to be ready for those questions, but It's very important to just keep it as simple as possible Most of these policymakers have not made up their minds at all about any of this stuff They hear it in the news over there. They're their nephews trading crypto You know, like they're it's like they've got stuff all over the place, you know, you got some hardline anti -crypto anti -bitcoin Democrats You know, you've got some vocal Republicans, but they're not really like hardline yet. Like there's just not a lot of like really built -in statements or viewpoints on this on this technology and So what we do is we just go in and we say okay like Out of everything you've heard a lot of some of it is true some of it is not but most importantly what we're here to do is try to explain to you the value of Bitcoin mining for your state so we pitch Bitcoin mining and we it's a five benefits I mentioned earlier it can bring jobs local investment great stability Environmental cleanup and the ability to enhance green and renewable energy projects and out of those five No one ever says anything bad about it But out of those five usually a policy maker will say oh What kind of jobs does it make or like, you know, oh I I didn't know it could clean up the environment it's like an instant like gateway to being able to have a conversation about something they care about because usually you're hitting on something there like if it's not the economy if It's not the environment if it's not energy like at the local state level like those topics are huge Because the vast majority of energy policy is set at the state level. The vast majority of job creation is done at the state level And then a lot of this these like sort of decisions around how much green energy they're going to be building done at the state Level a lot of environmental stuff done in the state level Yeah, DC throws around big pockets big buckets of money at everybody and they certainly have regulations But a lot of these decisions are made by local state policymakers And so they care if they care a lot about these issues probably themselves, but also their voters care a lot about those issues Particularly the jobs one comes up a lot because we we know in the mining space that we create a lot of rule And jobs and jobs and economically depressed zones where it's very difficult to create jobs nearly impossible to create like long -lasting jobs So the moment you say oh we create jobs in rural areas. They're like boom the brain turns on like well How do you do that? Because that's really important to me As an example in New Hampshire, we've I've been there a few times now In the there's an area called the North Country. There's like no jobs It's a whole thing like they call it jobs for the North Country is like one of their pitches So when we go there and we talk about Bitcoin mining, we're like jobs for the North Country jobs for the North Country It's because it's true and it's something they care a lot about so that yeah, that's that's generally how we pitch it We do not talk about Too much about Bitcoin in the past We haven't talked too much about Bitcoin to the extent that it's like oh you're gonna need this because it's good as hedge for inflation or XYZ like we sort of stay away from that and focus on things that Like mining that we know will deliver value now, we've expanded our policy. We've expanded the way that we that we talk about it But we haven't gone into this new legislative cycle yet So yeah, that was all done everything that we just talked about that we've done and that we have done It was done in early 2023. We prep for it in early 20 or in late 2022 Now we are prepping for 2024 in late 2023 So we got we sort of have an idea of where things are gonna go and what we're gonna do and we're in a really Great position. In fact, we could be active in up to 20 states we probably won't be active in that many but we have the opportunity to be active in up to 20 states and as a Form of context we only introduced law or excuse me introduced policy in seven states, so we were only able to actually convince seven states to Try to pass our bills Whereas like this cycle, I think that number will be closer to like 10 or 15 only seven states That sounds like a lot of airline miles to me so it can be yeah. Yeah, this seems seems like a lot of work Okay, so we got a lot of that laid out Let's go and talk about some of the more aggressive headlines We've seen recently and we're speaking about the New York Times article that dropped to believe a week ago for listeners Check out that in the show notes will include that I think we also talked about the news roundup last week Essentially, there's a Cheyenne Wyoming based Bitcoin miner They are owned and operated by a Chinese national group that has some ties according to the New York Times to the Chinese Communist Party essentially the story boiled down to Microsoft is near this plant it's Bitcoin mining plant the US government has a missile siloed nearby an Air Force base nearby and Microsoft is worried that this Bitcoin mining base could be used for foreign intelligence reasons Then we also have the story down in Arkansas, which we'll get down to in a second But let's start with this first one this this thing with Chinese nationalist groups Bitcoin mining obviously to to you and I is more of an energy game and it's very simple, right? It's just like plugging machine. Let it hash I'm gonna collect some Bitcoin and then there's those five benefits you talked about to outsiders though. They're not thinking about that They're thinking about all these people coming into rural areas and even foreign investment Has that been a struggle when you've been talking to lobbyists groups or talking to people in state houses have they brought this up to you? Yeah, definitely it's um, it's a major concern I would say Most Americans like average American especially rural Americans care a lot about the encroachment of the CCP on on the United States from from a physical perspective so like from a geographical perspective they don't like the idea of a CCP owned controlled or even highly influenced business You know being next to them and then definitely not being in and around me sort of military installations I believe the location in Cheyenne is near a Also, is that the one that's also near a nuclear plant or a nuclear missile site as well? So yeah, something like that Yeah, so I share the concern like that I think the premise is like Do you want foreign adversaries to be in and around any sort of? Military installation any sort of critical infrastructure You know generally I like my stance is like I'm very like pro people coming here starting their businesses You know trying to accomplish the American dream, but at the same time We also have to be concerned about whether or not those businesses have strong links to You know the CCP or you know A lot of people care a lot about also like Russian oligarchs and their ability to influence America American politics American infrastructure you know the big argument today is that the electrical infrastructure is a critical part of national security and That we need to be doing everything we can to protect it and I agree I think that's important all of those things are important that we should we should keep an eye on them The the thing that I don't like is when the New York Times tried to spin this article as if like Bitcoin mining was some sort of like really powerful tool in the hands of the CCP like next to these sites I don't think it really matters what business was there.

American Universities' Disturbing Connections to Nazi Germany
"Universities and colleges doing the same thing all over again. For instance chapter The Third Reich has a long history of atomizing Nazism. Harvard University and the Hitler Regime 1933 to 7 chapter 3 complicity and conflict Columbia University's response to fascism 1937 is very sympathetic to it. Chapter for the Seven sisters colleges in the Third Reich promoting fellowship through student exchange. Chapter 5 a respectful hearing for Nazi Germany's apologists the University of Virginia Institute of Public Affairs roundtables from 1933 to 1941. Chapter Nazi 6 nests German departments and American universities 1933 to 1941 just as we have islamo nazi hamasa and other rats nests throughout a university and college system. and in this book Hitler's American friends American universities did little to curtail the influence of pro -German speakers on campus during the obviously Third Reich. Throughout the decade German exchange students whom were Nazi party members and were likely operating as propaganda agents and other speakers were given mostly unchallenged platforms on university campuses. You see that now with the mass network in the islamo nazis. American universities therefore offer the German government a remarkable level of establishment legitimacy in the United States. Even after the violently anti -semitic nature of the regime had become clear. Just as Hitler's corporate friends had showed little reluctance doing business with the Third Reich his friends in academia maintained their own relationship with Hitler's regime. Both the Nazis and the US government were aware of the propaganda potential provided by American universities. Testifying before the DICE committee John C. Metcalfe argued that the German government had a particular interest in American students. He said the purpose of the exchange students on universities has long been to foster goodwill and peace among the nations resulting greater understanding. But this worthwhile aim has been neglected in the exchange of German students for American. Now American students are being indoctrinated with the aims of fascism in Germany both abroad and at home to the detriment of democratic institutions in America. Some of this rhetoric served as the intellectual precursor in the 1950s, they write, but John McCarthy, but they also say some of it, was legitimate. The Nazis did indeed benefit from a dedicated propaganda network within the American academic establishment. Around the country students and faculty alike increasingly became embroiled in unfolding international tensions as the 1930s progressed. Most often it was the vocally anti -Nazi professors, some of whom were themselves Jewish refugees from Nazi oppression who faced the brunt of administrative repression just as professors Jewish and Gentile professors who speak out now are silenced or threatened

Dean, we're talking what, 3 .3 % year over year here, 0 .3 % on a month -to -month basis here, and that's relatively in line with where we've been now for the last couple of months. I'm not sure if those numbers get hit right on the nose, I'm not sure it really changes the narrative at all. All right, we're getting the closing bells here in New York on this Monday afternoon here, and once again, a low volume day leading to what is two relatively unchanged markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is in the green on the day, but only by about a tenth of a percent, higher by roughly 49 points and change as we wait for these numbers to settle. The S &P 500 lower by about 3 to 4 points, or about a tenth of a percent, while the NASDAQ composite is going to finish the day lower by roughly 30 points, or about two tenths of a percent. And the Russell 2000 really emblematic here of just how tepid the price action was, unchanged on the day at 17 ,000 and change. All right, so tepid on the price action, you look at the S &P a little changed here lower. If you dig a little bit deeper though, a little bit of a negative tone in terms of the individual names, 307 to the downside, losing some ground in the Monday trade. Katie, 194 to the downside, so a little bit of a, like I said, a negative slant to unchanged in today's trade. Yeah, and you take a look at some of the industry groups, there's a lot of green, a lot of red, so it all washes out to about neutral, but you take a look at what did well today, and it's the autos group, but we know a lot of that is coming from Tesla, but nonetheless, that group higher by about 3 .6 percent. Healthcare equipment and services also having a good day, so too is energy. So those are your bright spots. You take a look at the bottom of the list, what isn't doing too well today from an industry group perspective. You have retail, real estate, you have tech hardware, and you have utilities leading losses.

"Are we back? Altcoins are pumping, stablecoins are getting an upgrade, and the NFT community is joining hands. I'm Hannah and I'm going to fill you in on this week's events in cryptocurrency. Chainlink is up 34 % this week and the hype surrounding LINK is something to pay attention to in my opinion. The Grayscale Chainlink Trust, GLNK, has been trading at a 200 % premium to the spot price of Chainlink, LINK, indicating strong institutional demand for the cryptocurrency. This is the highest premium that GLNK has ever traded at and it suggests that institutional investors are bullish on the long -term prospects of Chainlink. The fact that GLNK is trading at a premium to the spot price of LINK suggests that there is more demand for shares of the trust than there is for Chainlink tokens themselves. The strong institutional demand for Chainlink is a positive sign for the cryptocurrency overall as it suggests that institutional investors are becoming more and more interested in investing in digital assets. And they think that Chainlink is a valuable one. XRP surged nearly 10 % this week and surpassed Binance Coin BNB to become the fourth largest cryptocurrency by market cap. This pump was likely due to two key announcements from Ripple, including approval to operate in Georgia. The National Bank of Georgia selected Ripple to develop its central bank digital currency or CVDC. This is a major win for Ripple as it shows that governments are increasingly interested in using Ripple's technology. Ripple also received approval to offer its services in Dubai. This is another major win for Ripple as Dubai is a global hub for financial services and crypto. These two announcements show that Ripple's technology is in high demand and this is likely driving the recent surge in XRP's price. Ripple is also facing a number of positive legal developments which is further fueling investor confidence. Overall the outlook for XRP is very bullish at the moment and I think XRP is worth paying attention to. Cardano has also pumped 10 % over the past seven days and this is due to a number of factors including a recent conference, the Cardano Summit, that was held in Dubai. Circle, the issuer of the popular stablecoin USDC, has recently announced a new upgrade to the USDC and EURC smart contract. This upgrade, known as V2 .2, includes a number of improvements that will make USDC and EURC more efficient and user -friendly. One of the most important changes in V2 .2 is the addition of support for EIP -1271. This will allow smart contract wallets to authorize transfers of USDC and EURC which will improve support for account abstraction and make it easier for users to pay network gas fees in USDC and EURC. Another important change in V2 .2 is the optimization of the block listing check. This will make it significantly cheaper to transfer, transfer from, transfer with authorization, receive with authorization, burn, and mint USDC and EURC. These improvements are likely to boost the adoption of USDC and EURC, especially among developers and users of Layer 2 blockchain solutions. The Layer 2s that are used by USDC and USDT, such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Matic, are likely to be the most relevant. Okay, so how will this impact the further adoption of stablecoins into the geopolitical landscape? This is likely to be accelerated by the improvements in V2 .2. This is because stablecoins offer a number of advantages over traditional fiat currencies, such as speed and efficiency, low cost, and transparency. Overall, the improvements in Circle's USDC V2 .2 upgrade are a positive development for the stablecoin industry, and these improvements are likely to boost the adoption of USDC and EURC, especially among developers and users of Layer 2 blockchain solutions. The co -founder of Yuga Labs and board ape yacht club Gordon Goner on X is single -handedly saving NFTs. This guy is a Chad. He mentioned in his bio that he's taking a break for health reasons from Yuga Labs, but he still claims to be an ape until he dies. Now that Gordon has parted with Yuga in some ways, he's decided to show love to the NFT projects that have been building during the bear market. Gordon posted photos of his newly acquired NFTs over the past week, and some of the projects include CryptoPunks, Pudgy Penguins, Sappy Seals, Goblin Town, and many more. Shoutout Gordon for bringing good vibes and a sense of community to crypto Twitter amongst all of the chaos. Grok is a new AI assistant developed by Elon Musk and his company X. It is designed to be able to answer questions in natural language, even about complex topics. Grok has access to real -time information via the X platform, which might give it a significant advantage over other AI assistants. Grok is currently available as part of an X premium subscription service that also includes other premium features on the app. However, Musk has said that he plans to make Grok available to everybody for free in the future. Musk has said that he envisions Grok being used as a general -purpose AI assistant that can help with a wide variety of tasks. Grok is designed to be witty, funny, and sarcastic. Elon Musk has said that he wants Grok to have a personality and to be able to interact with users in a fun and engaging way. For example, when asked for a step -by -step guide to making cocaine, Grok responded with a tongue -in -cheek answer that included suggestions such as obtain a chemistry degree and set up a laboratory in a remote location. I've been seeing a lot of screenshots of Grok interactions on my timeline, and it's cracking me up. Grok is still under development, but it has the potential to be a powerful and versatile AI assistant in the future. OpenAI engineers have allegedly come out stating that Grok is mocked in machine learning and AI communities and is analogous to a third -grader CS project. Thank you for inviting me here today Excited to be on your podcast to share my story a little bit So, uh, well, I joined our military right at the high school literally after the graduation party the next day I was in the car with the with the recruiter Headed to all the preparation and in the other paperwork administrative stuff. So that was 19 night August 1994 I ride the South Carolina for Jackson for basic training Awesome, and you're looking through your bio your parents were Guatemalan immigrants, right? Yes. Yes, they were going from Guatemala to Chicago I came here after a long wait a wait time back in the 70s and They started their their journey in Chicago in Chicago the west side of Chicago actually humble park And that's where I was born But then they ended up moving closer to the north side And I speak in street corners because I'm from that era in Chicago is something about Chicago I know you I know you from Kansas City you mentioned as we talked earlier So we grew up on Winnipeg and Broadway, which is essentially the north side. They call it Edgewater now Back in the in the early 80s a very different area there that it is now a lot of Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees And immigrants that came after the Vietnam War. I did not know this Obviously as I got older I went back and there's a digging around how I grew up Why was there so many, you know different ethnicities? So I yes, I grew up in Chicago border ways in Chicago, correct? Yes, and so Tell us a little bit about some of the things you did while you're in the army Yeah, so I was I chose my MLS was 94 Bravo back then I think it's changed 92 golf now, which is a cook essentially my thinking a 17 year old person getting Advice from many different people that weren't an army They were like Mario choose a job that it's gonna you know, not be too strenuous or dangerous So you're not gonna so I wasn't gonna be an infantry or Airborne Ranger. I knew that right away So I decided that you know, and I was interested in cooking my mother She you know love to cook so I said to myself it would be something interesting to venture in So I was a I was a cook in the military Definitely had a lot of friends because we were out in the field You know, we had the nice kitchen trailer set up with hot coffee and grill and all my military friends had to eat those MRE So they were like, hey Mario, you know, hook me up with something hot stuff like that So I definitely gained a lot of friends which was pretty cool because I started doing networking back then. I just didn't know it Yeah, great experience. So talk about your transition out of the army. Was it something you're expecting to come on quick? Were you prepared unprepared? I would say I was policy. I'm prepared to be honest So I got out on night 99. I was in Germany my last stop At the time so it was more of a pressure to stay in. That's what I remember the most It was a lot of fear a lot of you know, high pressure to stay in like what are you gonna do? So then life is not great You know stay here, you know, you can retire which I know many people do I know many people Friends that I have still they retired in Germany. They ended up just living to staying there, but my family at the time Was going through a struggle financially and I felt like I need to come home and just be back with them and support them as much as I could so I They gave me my paperwork and I was on my own. Basically. I got back to Chicago, which is very difficult right because Chicago Back, this is like 1999 2000. So just trying to you know, figure all of it out It's a lot right because it's benefits. There's paperwork. There's things that we just don't know about and I'll be honest the last Ten twenty years. I'm learning more and more, right? I Know too recently. There's just many benefits of veterans have that. We just don't know about especially when it comes to entrepreneur small business Something that I want to mention in in 2015 I started a Hispanic chamber out here in the suburbs and part of that was just thinking about how to look out for you know Hispanic business owners So now I'm thinking about better veteran business owners because I do run into them Hispanic or non -hispanic and they talk to me and say you know what? We we need better resources for our for our veteran business owners that are either starting a business On the middle of their business or just trying to figure out how to take their business to the next level So I'm always thinking about that. I'm always thinking about that. I am I am on me Chicago Northwest. That's my full -time job So so that that I'm able to incorporate it because I am I still continue to meet People from from that walk of life and as a veteran myself, I didn't have my own business, right? But If I had that information, who knows right 20 years ago Whatever 24 years ago who knows what would have happened to me when I came back, but I did what most veterans do I enrolled in college right away. It just tried to get out there in civilian life I began a 20 20 year career in banking. That's what I ended up doing so But so yes, I was a banker Assistant manager branch manager for 15 years and a regional manager up to a business banker So I did all facets of banking retail banking when it comes to helping small businesses and that's where I end in my career and and And then I decided to take a another a different Turn in my career into the what I'm doing now with me Chicago Northwest is you know working with us so still working with businesses right because associations nonprofits Diversity clubs sports clubs. Those are all businesses, right? So now all we do now in Chicago, Northwest we talk to them We we bring we try to invite them nationally, right or even internationally to the Northwest suburbs They come out and see what we have to offer so they can have the conferences the conventions or their meetings here. So That was a long answer. I know Back to what you said if I just one of five my transition If I had to rate it, I'll probably give it a one or two. It was it was it wasn't it was not great Yeah, it was not great. So sounds like you ultimately landed Well now I don't I'm not real familiar with the Chicago suburbs But is the Northwest Chicago suburbs primarily Hispanic or have a heavily Hispanic influence or I know she says something about you were targeting more Hispanic Since you're probably fluent in Spanish targeting the Spanish business network Yeah, great question so Chicago in itself state of Illinois itself has a large Hispanic population in itself city Chicago obviously is the largest city which is a heavy heavy Hispanic presence in the suburbs is starting to change, right? You have also an Asian presence Middle Eastern Indian presence, so it's starting to change very very a lot of Backgrounds and cultures Polish as well are out here in the suburbs It's all a mix but I would say definitely in the last 10 20 years the suburbs people have migrated Either to work out here in the suburbs to live out here go to school out here Public schools is a challenge, right? I I went to public schools. So hey, I made it I mean, I made it but it's not it's not easy Joe. I'll tell you that especially when I grew up in the 80s was definitely not easy, but So the answer to that would be yeah Yes, the the suburbs are being more diverse across not just Hispanic so the reason I started the Hispanic Chamber Joe because there's this Hispanic chamber in the city downtown on most people that live in the suburbs don't want to travel You know, it could be an hour for traffic an hour into the city just to go get resources and help So I figured why not have something here for them where they can go and get resources Find out about grants or how to start a business or get the paperwork in order So that's kind of how why I started to need I need that I saw in the suburbs in the middle Which wasn't there awesome? "If you have your Bibles today would you turn with me to 1 Corinthians 1 26 through the end of the chapter and I was thinking today on heroes in honor of our Remembrance Day there are blessings to any country that will make the God of the Bible their God and abide by his truths as laid out in the Scriptures. These truths though initially sated by David towards Israel can apply to us as Gentiles as if we're obedient to them and Psalm 33 12 blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom we have chosen for his own inheritance and the truth is there are great blessings in being a child of God. I understand this if you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior we are entered into the promises and blessings of Abraham and we will enter into that lineage so that's a blessing there. I was thinking of a hero, a hero is a man or a woman of distinguished valor or enterprise in danger or fortitude in suffering a prominent or central personage in any remarkable action or event hence a great or illustrious person. A little further on this a pastor and author recently wrote that our society has lost the meaning of the word hero he said that we think that if an athlete can put a ball through a hoop they're a hero. If a musician can play eight chords on a guitar they're considered a hero and if an actor can pretend to be something they are not they're considered a hero in Hollywood. This pastor wrote I remember watching a well -known journalist interview an actor about his recent movie which featured a politically troubled region of the world. The journalist asked the celebrity what he thought should be done about the political situation there the actor responded who cares what I think and went on to point out that he was an actor. This pastor said real heroes are people who actually do something sacrificial or courageous he points out that God does not seek out heroes to accomplish his purposes God isn't looking for a strong man or woman per se rather he's looking for someone whom he can be strong on behalf of. Amen end quotes there and that came by Jim Sandel but I think about some other heroes of the past. One of the heroes that rates highly in my mind is John Wycliffe. He continued his reforming attempts and particularly began the very significant step of translating and writing out the New Testament in English a radical step as it brought the Gospels close to the ordinary person who could not understand Latin and remove the church which would be the Catholic Church at that time as the interpreter having God's Word available to the public in the language of the common man English would have meant disaster to that church no longer would they control access to the scriptures if people were able to read the Bible in their own tongue the church's income and power would crumble they could not possibly continue to get away with self indulgences which is the forgiveness of sins or selling the release of loved ones from a church manufactured purgatory people would begin to challenge the church's authority if the church were exposed as frauds and thieves the contradictions between what God's Word said and what the priests taught would open the public's eye and the truth would set them free from the grip of fear that the institutional church held salvation through faith not works or donations would be understood the need for priests would vanish through the priesthood of all believers the veneration of church canonized saints and Mary would be called into question the availability of scriptures in English was the biggest threat imaginable to the wicked church neither side would give up without a fight end quotes John Jeffcoat English Bible history as he recounts the history of the Bible through the centuries now when we really consider the idea of a hero or a person to whom we characterize as a hero whether secular or sacred we think of men and women who've denied themselves for a greater cause this cause they saw worth fighting for much to their own detriment much to their own adversity and they may have thought with or without weapons those who go to war for the country do so out of duty and the heroes are not just those who died but those who have stood tall in the face of evil the Christian hero is the person who does not stand out in front of and herald their greatness or absorb the plazas of men rather it is the person who's faithful to Christ irrespective of the dangers they were called to encounter behind all of these feats these harrowing feats and these determinative there actions lies a person an ordinary person like you and I whose love for Christ I'm speaking of Christians as heroes particular Christians to whom Christ was preeminent in their life now may we not seek to be heroes may we just seek to be faithful until the day we breathe our last it is an attitude that has gained much applause respect of others of the heroes of the faith Hebrews chapter 11 we'll deal with that passage tonight here in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 26 for you see your calling brethren how that not many wise men after the flesh not many mighty not many noble are called but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty and base things of the world and things which are despised that God chosen yea and things which are not to bring to not things that are why does he do this the no flesh and glory in his presence but of him are you in Christ Jesus who of God has made unto us wisdom and righteous and sanctification and redemption that according as it is written he that gloria let him glory in the Lord you think about the ones to whom Jesus decided to use as apostles tax fishermen collectors everyday citizens these were not of your upper elites now I understand there was Luke who wrote the book of Luke and he was a very intelligent man it was a doctor Paul an apostle was also very intelligent but overall God would use some fisherman with sometimes some very sour attitudes cranky attitudes he would use a tax collector who was hate noted as being a scoundrel in communities God would use these men to turn the world upside down they weren't some theological pinnacle of excellence the only pinnacle of excellence in their lives would be obedience to Christ but yet while Christ lived they forsook Christ at the moment he most needed them it's not about us it's about Christ you think about Revelation chapter 2 verse 10 as he tells the Church of Smyrna be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life first Peter chapter 5 verse 6 humble yourselves therefore into the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time and we still talk about those 12 apostles today Judas we obviously don't talk about in a positive light but we talk about the Apostles in a positive light men who hazard of their life for Jesus Christ and turn the world upside down and you and I might think I could never do anything great for God because it's not about you it's about the God that we worship I want to look at three qualities today of a true biblical hero it's an interesting study may we seek to be devoted not promoted and there are so often times in Christian up does in Christianity pandering a to elevate an individual it's not about elevating an individual it's about elevating Jesus Christ heroes who are heroes those on the battlefield are everyday men and women who answer the call to go to war they go to war they learn all that they need to they go to war and they perish sometimes but they're like every one of us same flesh and blood I trust today that we would seek as verse 31 says he that glory let him glory no Lord let's pray dear only father Lord I love you Lord Jesus I yield the state of thee God I pray that you'd work in my lips my thoughts to preach your word faithfully I pray that we would be found worthy more than pleasing to thee would help us to be an example to others behind us of faithful Christianity it doesn't matter how we started our life doesn't matter all the turmoil of what we've done in our lives but God may we be faithful found faithful into death Lord Jesus I yield this time to thee I thank you for being our gracious Savior in your name I pray amen.

If we're honest, particularly in the Western world, we spend most of our time and most of our money on earth striving to be healthy and wealthy and increasing our collection of things that help us to become more comfortable here on earth. Our sin nature drives us not to serve others but to serve ourselves first. If I was to ask you this, what does your calendar show and what does your bank statement show is most important to you? God has put us on this earth for a specific purpose. It's to live for Him and to point others to Him. As Pastor Nate said, we're gonna be preaching through our church covenant if you've got one of these. We're on number four and five here. We encourage you to grab one off the table if you get a chance even after the service. Our covenant sets before us the biblical commitments I will bring up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord such as may be under my care and I will seek the salvation of the unconverted. God wants us to bring up our children in the gospel and also share the gospel with the lost. So in Ephesians six where you are, starting in verse one, familiar passage. Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. So we'll continue with the same template that Pastor Nate's been using. First, we wanna make sure that we realize that our church covenant, and if you're not familiar with this is, this is a covenant that members of Omaha Baptist covenant together to uphold as long as you're a member here but it's not just a man -made document that we picked out of the sky. We wanna show that it's biblical and it's root. So the biblical commitment that God wants to keep the gospel first at your home. In the passage here in Ephesians six, we see that raising children is broken down to a couple categories, discipline and instruction. If I was to ask you which one of you desires to be disciplined, who here has ever said, yay, I get to be disciplined today? I'm going to assume no one. My younger brother was the only one who was never disciplined in our home. Because he's sinless is what he would say, that's not the case. The desire not to be disciplined is nothing new though. We see this all the way back to the garden. It's rooted in our very sin nature. If this wasn't the case when Adam and Eve fell in sin and Adam was confronted, he wouldn't have immediately turned to blame his wife Eve and he certainly wouldn't have deflected to blame God for making Eve. So knowing that discipline is not generally enjoyable and it's not something we desire to have, is it negative and should be avoided at all costs? In Hebrews, in Hebrews 12, verse 11, we read a verse that would clear that up for us. For the moment, all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant. So we see the negative. But, as we continue, but later it yields a peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. So what does proper discipline yield? It yields a peaceful fruit of righteousness. Take notice as well the link between discipline and training. Right living is something that's trained into a person through the process of discipline. It's not something that they just organically have when they come into this world. They have quite the opposite. So here we can see how by continually pointing our children to Christ, and when we bring them under the authority of God's word, we're training them in a life through the lens of the gospel. If you look at Ephesians 6 again, we see that it addresses both parties at the home, both the children and the parents. For the sake of time, we won't tackle the children's side of things, but it does start with children. And children, I would just say this, that by honoring your parents, whether you see them as honor worthy or not, you are honoring the Lord who put them in that position of authority. Though it speaks to both children and parents, fathers specifically are pointed out in verse four. It says, fathers do not provoke your children to anger. Fathers are held responsible for leading the charge in the home, just as Adam was specifically addressed in Genesis 3. Though Eve was the first one to sin, God said, Adam, where are you? Fathers are called to discipline their children, but not in a way that causes anger and resentment. The purpose of discipline, and when God disciplines us, it needs to be restorative in nature and never done in anger. It's been said, and this stuck with me when I heard this, I thought, is this not true? It's been said that in a home, if you have all rules with no relationship, you end up with rebellion. But if you have a home that has all relationship with no rules, you end up creating resentment. A father's discipline needs to be carried out in the context of a loving relationship where you have a relationship, but also the clear expectation of what God's word calls us to do. If you find yourself disciplining your child as a hypocrite, doing something that, asking them to do something that you wouldn't do or not modeling it before them, you will provoke your children to anger. But it's not just discipline, and there's also, it speaks to us in Ephesians about the instruction also in home, so gospel instruction we wanna bring in home. I realize that many of you here don't have children, or maybe your children are now out of the home. It's important to think of this call in our covenant not limited only to the child -parent relationship. The exhortation is much broader than that. I think the word it uses here is such may be under my care. It could refer to our relationship for Christ with virtually any relationship that we have. Other people looking to us, whether to raise them physically or even in the spiritual sense. If you wanna turn with me to 2 Timothy 1 .5, I think we see a really interesting illustration of this, how it's played out in scripture. So 2 Timothy 1 .5, this is Paul speaking to Timothy, I'm reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother, Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I'm sure dwells in you as well. Timothy's father's not even in the picture, we're not sure, we're not told why, we don't know what happened to him, but his mother, pardon me, his grandmother, Lois, stepped into the gap and is played a part in Timothy being brought up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord. The apostle Paul also played a huge part in training Timothy without a father in the picture. Both the books, 1 and 2 Timothy, are letters from Paul to this young pastor, training him in the way he should go, just as a parent would train a child. Paul shows his heart towards Timothy by referring to him as his true child in the faith. So whether you've got biological children or not, we're all called to provide gospel instruction to those that may be under our care. There is, however, special onus on parents bringing the gospel into their own home. You'll notice when we read Ephesians 6 that it's not, it's parent -child language used, it's not Sunday school teacher child used, or pastor child, or government child. It's parent -child. God's design is for a father and a mother to raise their own children and pointing them to the Lord as their primary responsibility, not a responsibility they pass off to somebody else. So if I was to ask these questions, are you modeling the gospel at home before your children? Actions speak louder than words. If I was to ask your children what they see in your home, what would they tell me? Do your children know the gospel? Ask them to explain the gospel to you and then check. Is it on point or is there things they're confused about? This is a great question to expose whether we understand what that gospel actually is. It's quite possible that you can be here thinking you know it and don't, or believing some kind of version of a false gospel. That's skewed. When somebody's sinned against in the home, does the gospel that saved you shape how you respond to that? Do our kids, when they sin against each other, does the gospel speak into that relationship? Does it speak into how we correct that behavior? Does the gospel come up regularly in your conversation at home? If the gospel is the lens that we wanna give our children to see the world, then it should be commonplace in our conversations. Let's meditate on those questions as we move on. God doesn't just want us to keep the gospel first at home. He wants us to keep the gospel first in all of our relationships. You can flip over to Matthew 28, very familiar passage, the Great Commission, Matthew 28, verse 16 is where we'll start. Now the 11 disciples went to Galilee to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when he saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus said to them, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I'm with you always to the end of the age. So here God clearly calls us to go make disciples. If you're a follower of Christ here today, I'm assuming that you agree that making disciples is a clear teaching of scripture and you agree that we should be doing it. The million dollar question is, are we doing it? We'll get to some of the reasons why we don't do it and the reasons that threaten us in a minute, but let's look at first what a disciple is. The Greek term for disciple in the New Testament is mathiteus, I'm no Greek scholar, but we're going with that, which basically means student or learner, but a disciple is also a follower, someone who adheres completely to the teaching of another, making them his rule of life and conduct. So if you're a disciple of Christ or if you're to make disciples of Christ, a Christ follower is someone who adheres completely to the teachings of Christ, making Christ his rule of life and conduct. So how do we make disciples? Well, in verse 19, we read that we're commanded to go. We're not told that potential disciples will come and find us and seek us out. No, the disciples were charged with the command to go. Don't just sit around and wait for this to happen. And if you're familiar with the start of the church in the book of Acts, this wasn't something that they were super keen on doing until they were more or less forced to do that through persecution. I was thinking of an illustration of this, and I was meeting with a young man once who was of the age that he'd finished school and was in the workforce now, and he explained to me that he was desiring to find a godly woman, which was a noble desire, so I said, well, how's that going? And it wasn't going well, so I said, well, what are you doing to make this happen? Nothing, just crickets. So I said, well, you realize the chances of a godly woman coming to your house, breaking in, coming into the basement, interrupting your video games, tapping you on the shoulder and introducing yourself, it's not real high. So maybe it would be smart if you went, go, and did something, took some initiative to find a godly woman, and it's the same with evangelism. There is times where the Lord and his providence will literally draw people in our lap, but generally speaking, it has to be something that we're willing to do, to go, a desire that's gotta come from within. Second, we don't need to go, we need to make sure that we're pointing people to Christ and not to ourselves. It seems obvious that this is the case, but it's something that we often miss the mark on. We might feel the pressure of closing the deal, so to speak, as if you're a salesman on a sales call and you gotta close the deal and make that sale. But if we're to make disciples of Christ, we just need to show them Christ. So how do we do that? If you wanna turn, Romans 10, we'll be going through this a little bit here, 10, 17, where's where we'll start, and then we'll step back a bit. Romans 10, 17 says, so faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. So if somebody's to come to saving faith, they need to first hear the word. Not my words, not the words of Greg and whatever clever thing I can say, but God's word. So that's 10, 17, but if we were to back up a few verses, let's look at the context of what Paul's saying here. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, you notice the Great Commission language here, that going to all nations, both Jew and Greek, everybody. There's no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How will they call on him and who they have not believed, and how are they to believe in him and who they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news? But they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah said, Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us? So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. So we need to point them to the only thing that can pierce their heart, the heart of any sinner, it's God's word, and the only thing that pierces that is the sword of the spirit, and this verse has already come up in previous messages, but Hebrews 4 .12, for the word of God is living and active, sharper than any tumbled sword, piercing through the division of soul and spirit and joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Give the people the word of God and let God's word do the work. But God doesn't just say, go make disciples, he says to teach the disciples. So if the Lord in his mercy does open the eyes of somebody that we're evangelizing, even if that's our own children or somebody outside of the home, in so many ways the work is just getting started. This idea of teaching is an ongoing interaction, right? In verse 20 it reads, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. This is only possible through ongoing fellowship, doing life together. Remember I said, if it's not like the salesman who's closing the deal and then onto the next deal, if that's not what it is, think of it more like a journeyman -apprenticeship relationship, a relationship where you're bringing somebody along, somebody new in the faith, to come and do life together. You're modeling before them what it is to live for Christ and the way that they should go. If you're doing this properly, you should be able to do as Paul did, or that's what Paul was doing with Timothy, and should be able to say, be imitators of me as I imitate Christ. So it's a biblical commitment, but if we move on, it's also a very threatened commitment. So we see this commitment threatened in our own home as far as raising our children in the Lord. We can all be very guilty of just assuming that our children will just organically come to Christ sort of by living with us, maybe coming to church, maybe you generally just hang around most of the time with Christian people, and you might figure that that's good enough. If you want to turn with me to the Old Testament, passage you're probably less familiar with, judges, judges two, we'll see a sobering account here of why this isn't the case. So the Jewish people have, God's people have just come into the land, and the land that he miraculously gave them, the promised land, and a generation, the first generation is coming to an end. We pick up in verse seven. And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had sent all the great work the Lord had done for Israel. And Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at age 110. Now if we jump down to verse 10, we read these sobering words. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, or the work that he had done for Israel. And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals. So we see in one generation, the people of God, God's chosen people, went from following the Lord, and seeing him work in unbelievably miraculous ways, and bringing them into the promised land, to not even knowing the Lord, or even recognizing the work that he had done. I know when I read that, I was thinking, how is that even possible? There's probably lots of reasons why this is possible, and this speaks to our own home. There's probably lots of reasons why our kids can be in the same place that God's people were there. Let's just look at a couple of them. First off, I thought, in my own life, what are the things, it's just, first thing I thought of, it's just easier not to. Parenting is hard work. Life is busy, and parenting is hard. Being intentional in your parenting, and takes discipline of yourself. None of us like to discipline ourselves. It's sometimes easier to discipline somebody else. If you're like me, and you've worked all day, and you come home, the last thing you probably feel like doing is having intentional gospel conversations with your wife and kids. That's probably at war with your own sloth. It's just easier maybe to turn your brain off, and turn the TV on. I think we can feel like, maybe like the Israelites did when they got into the land finally, that the worst is behind us. God's been good, let's get comfortable, and mail it in. But when we do that, we fail to notice that if we're not intentionally teaching our kids, don't be deceived, somebody else is. Somebody else is gonna fill that gap. Joshua obviously felt, that generation obviously assumed that their children would just learn through osmosis, being around them, that they would learn what it was to follow God. And they did learn through osmosis, the scripture tells us that, but they didn't learn from mom and dad, they learned from the pagans around them. They learned to worship Baal instead of the living God. I think another threat we have to this, and again I'm speaking to myself in this, is we're just too distracted. We live in a world that's never had more distractions. This smartphone alone has the ability to take our complete attention at any time. Funny cat videos, need I say anymore? My wife and I often talk about just how different it is as we're looking to raise kids now when we grew up. And I know there's people here with grayer hair than me. But we had no TV or TV with three channels that were all fuzzy. No stores were open on Sunday. The stores that were open closed at five o 'clock. And I could go on and now my smartphone alone allows me to watch more videos than I could watch in an entire lifetime even if I wanted to. I can buy whatever I want from all over the globe and have it delivered to my door in a day or less. The battle for our focus on being intentional in anything in the Lord, especially parenting, is real and it's not going away. And the next generation is gonna face it in a way even more difficult than ours. So I think it's also important though too that some of the distractions that we have as far as being intentional in parenting, and keep in mind when I'm talking parenting, again, this could be discipling somebody that's not your own child. That some of the stuff that's at war with us can be good things. We can be distracted doing all kinds of good things for or people even pouring into other people at the very neglect of our own children and our wives. I think the log spec principle in Matthew 7 where we're to make sure to get the giant two by four out of our eyes before we remove the speck out of our brother's eyes to make sure that we're pouring into our family at home. If you're a father in particular, that's your primary goal to be pouring in at home and not busy fixing everybody else's problem and neglecting your own children. I think you see this, unfortunately, in a lot of pastors' kids who resent the church, I think because dad was never around, busy helping everybody. So it's something that's real, not just for pastors. Another thing that causes real war in this area is parents not being on the same page. And this is a particularly hard one and I'm gonna be sensitive here because I know there's lots of people here that have unsafe spouses. But you can have, we can even be both safe parents at home and we can be just biblically unaware or maybe unconvinced that the scripture has much direction in this area. If this is you and you're not certain what the scripture says about parenting, there's more than just Ephesians that are brought up here. We're actually currently in table time, so after the service, we're doing a parenting class and this is our third time through it. It's not our own class that I dreamt up, don't worry. It's a paltra parenting class, but it's speaking specifically about the heart of the situation. So the heart of the child, which is desperately lost, can only be saved through the gospel. And it's a 10 -week video series and it's been fantastic in growing my own understanding of what it is to be a parent. And my wife and I talk about how it would have been great to have watched this 17 years ago. But I would encourage you to do that. If you're a saved couple here, put the time in and grow in your understanding of this. The Bible's not silent in the errand of parenting, so treat it as such and pour some time into it. But it's possible too that there's friction at home because your spouse isn't a believer and I know that's a lot of people here. And maybe you deeply wanna raise your kids in the gospel, but your spouse is pushing against that. And there's obviously no quick fix, easy answer here. Your first priority is to pray for the salvation of your lost spouse. That's the heart of the issue right there now. And I know there's many of you that have been doing that for years. So continue to do that, but I think what can be more difficult even than praying for a lost person for years is particularly in a home is living in a way that points them to Christ on a daily basis. So to model that devotion to Christ in a kind way before them, 1 Peter 3, this is speaking of wives, but 1 Peter 3, 1, calls on believing wives to live in a godly fashion so that their lost husbands might be won without a word by the conduct of their wives.

In a way it is because it's us believing that our God, our Jehovah Jireh, has stored up for us. Everything that we will ever need is in his hand. How many have a testimony that all you have needed his hand has provided? I trust in God. Oh, yeah. Tell your neighbor, I'm not so sure about you. I don't know if I can trust you, but I trust in God, and I think it will be amazing. I trust in God. That's kind of the subject I'll preach around for the next few weeks as we move this year to a close. Today I'm excited to journey with you into the Scripture. Are you excited to see what God will speak to you today? I was running out the house, and this is the only Bible I could find close by. I didn't feel like going back downstairs and getting the regular ones, so I got this big boy today, a big boy Bible. About to beat the Devil half to death with this Bible today. In Hebrews, chapter 11, there is a Scripture that leads to a Scripture that leads to a Scripture that I never thought about before today, but I want to share it with you, because I think it's going to help us to trust in God for where he's taking us. Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 6. I thought about only reading a few of these verses, but they're all so good I figured they would be offended if we left them out, so we're going to need to do verses 6 through 16. Can you handle that? Did you wear your elastic waistband today for this word that I'm going to get you fat off of? Hebrews 11, verse 6. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark. To save his family, by his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. You don't have that much faith, do you? I don't think I do.

At least 6 people are dead after German police say shots were fired inside a building used by Jehovah's Witnesses in the northern city of Hamburg, were told others are wounded besides the 6 dead as reported by CNN, shooting happened tonight in the gross boreal district a few miles north of the downtown area of Germany's second biggest city Hamburg. Investigators say there's no immediate sign of shooters on the run. It does look like the attacker or attackers are either in that building or among the dead. We're going to keep you updated here on WTO paid tonight. 7 24 metro is making final preparations to bring its automatic train operation system back. The system was shut off after a deadly crash in 2009 that killed 9 people, has metro made any changes to the system to make it safer now. NBC four reporter Adam tuss was with us a bit earlier on WTO. What has changed with metro is some of the track circuits that they use to basically tell the train operators and the train control system, whether or not a specific portion of the track is occupied. That is important because in that 2009 incident, what happened was the striking train was told that the tracks ahead were clear when in reality there was a stop train ahead. So what metro has done here is they've changed a lot of the circuitry on the tracks that now better tells the operators and everybody involved when a particular section of track is occupied. It's been tested and retested and then that equipment then communicates with the train itself. Metro will switch the system back on on the red line first sub time this summer. The fire department of New York says the blaze started about 3 a.m. on 85th road in Richmond hill. Fire officials say it started on the second floor of the house and spread quickly to the house next door, at least three civilians and three firefighters suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
