Sachin & Babi co-founder Babi Ahluwalia on the pandemic's impact
"I sit down with bobby. She is the co founder and creative director of sasha and bobby and also co founder of the newly launched the good cloth company because i linked sasha and bobby with formal evening wear. I wanted to ask bobby about necessary. Pivots since the start of twenty twenty. Plus i wanted to know how she and session. Her husband pulled off the launch of a second brand mid pandemic welcome. Bobby hi thank you for having me So yeah it's kind of fortuitous. How we are here in the strange time by trying to make the most of what we have our brand of course was a elevated eveningwear line and over the course of time for the last three years. We have been actually looking at the business. Say how we can scale it how we can actually make it a little bit more. You know kind of all things occasion whether it's day all evening so that a deliberate attempt was made by ass. Wanna say by this twenty nine hundred so went so we had started that any way Luckily we used our website to showcase of you know whether you would soon be clothing during the day with its for luncheon or whether it was for a meeting all whether it would be a day wedding so so that graduates shift had actually started internally from us a end of thousand eighteen early twenty nine hundred anyway and i think the pandemic helped us to push it little faster so that was important to us and we see a lot of data come through our website. We see a lot of data. Come to our church that actually is responding to the run We get because there was the demand mean last year was a disaster for all of us because all of us were told not going anywhere on so we actually internalized that. Actually you know The talk was always there. We kind of put it into action. Twenty nineteen but we did. We added more Silhouettes designed details and all of that for this spring. On was that is brandon the entire entirely. You know where you have day viewed fabrics like linen. That never used in the past. We used we consciously made the The citizens of buying fabrics and producing them in that particular place. For example. If you bought the linens from we would make them in robotics. If you buy this caused from china we would make it in vietnam so we deliberately internally started You know thinking that it's better to buy local wherever it is from denim board as opposed to mind fibers from vietnam shipping them to india. It's just the freight the back and forth off it. I think all things that we were thinking of as a brand anyway over the years we had to put into play last year and this year so it all kind of came full circle now and i feel. This is a resurgence rebuffed for brandon. Away so They will at least Bobby announced that you look at the site and you look at the brand followers or the influencers sneeze whoever owned. They're kind much more broader than what we had in the past.
Everything you Need to Know About Buying From a Wholesaler
"Today's first question comes from read an m. red ass purchasing an assignment from a wholesaler. What do i need to know. They have their own attorneys and title company. Doing all the work. Should i have an attorney. Look over the contract on my side. This is a good question. Because more and more people are actually buying from wholesalers. Right now you should expect to see more of this. The hotter than a markets. When there's plenty of deals on the mls obviously people would rather go to the mls. In order to find properties gets us an agent. They don't have to worry about as much of the due diligence being done on their own without guidance but as wholesaling is becoming more and more popular these type of questions come up a lot more. There's two ways that i've seen wholesale deals go bad. Those are the two things that you want to focus on. The first one is that you don't have a fiduciary representing you in this transaction because there's no real involved which means a due diligence is all on you. I've bought a wholesale before. Where i was told it was fourteen hundred square feet. The property ended up being eleven. Hundred square feet. I took the wholesalers word for it and i didn't do my own due diligence now. The problem is it appraised for exactly the price per square foot that i thought my bird woulda went perfect but because there was three hundred square feet. I actually didn't have any equity in the deal. And i ended up paying market value for that eleven hundred square foot house thinking it was fourteen hundred square feet. So what am i getting at. Make sure that you're doing the due diligence and you're getting a home inspection on a property. That's coming from a wholesaler. Now a lot of wholesalers to pay cash for a property. You can pay cash and still get an inspection contingency. You need to talk to the wholesaler and see has inspections been done on this property. And what is my timeline to back out after. I'm doing inspections now. They probably won't call an inspection contingency because you're not getting the same type of a purchase agreement that you get with the realtor so the question you need to ask the wholesaler is. Hey if i have the put it oposite down. do i have to get that deposit back or be. If i move forward with this house can i just not put. It applies it down. So i could get some inspections done and if it doesn't look good i'll get out

"So let's get this German Mercedes stuff You have position player on the mound was a 47 MPH pitch. Game's a blowout. And on a three Oh, pitchy swings any parts it into center field. No problem with it. Now last. Do you think I know Tony LaRussa wasn't a manager last year, but you think he would learn even telling the rest of us are leading to learn from people Because of his Hall of Fame status. You would think he would learn from how Jase Danglard was ripped. Basically telling her name that that piece he was wrong for hitting a Grand slam in a similar situation. J. Singler was trying tow protect his buddy Cris Rivers, the manager for the other team. I don't know why he was doing that's little note to this day turned, the Rooster says he gave the take sign between your members. Sadie's crush that home run Just by the time the guys told me the pitch I ran. Took several steps from the dugout onto the field yelling, Take Take Take It's just the way he was set up. I looked to me like he was going to swing and the old times round the bases. I'm out there. None. No, that was upset because that's not a time to swing three and old. And you know what happened? Look over there and No, the twins knew that was upset. So if I got that, right trace it sounds as if he didn't give the sign right away to take. He just thought that you remember status was going to take it when he thought he was about to swing he gives the signer yells out. Take take take from the dugout. Come on. Would be one thing if you gave the sign way in advance. If it's that late, Give me a break at anyway. They're going to put a position player. The mound. It's a blouse. Let you guys swing. Who cares if it's three? I don't give a rat's ass about these unwritten rules. Who cares about the other team's feelings. One of the Rooster says. Now that you're a Mercedes will be punished for swinging at three
Is My Botox Wearing Off Faster?
"Know that they say bo talks lasts between two and munson. Find that it really. I met like the two month mark now. Is that like you feel like it. Starting you were you were off longer. And then it started lasting lasts less than ass over that chen happens. There's many different explanations for that. And i don't think that it's one reason there's many different reasons. The first one that. I feel that miss people fail to notice is that were aging every single day. So if you let's say like twenty units a year ago even or like three years ago. You're certainly going to need more today than yesterday. You know there's a lot that we can do for prevention to slow the aging process but the reality is aging. There's lots of things you could do to help prevent it or slow it down but it's still going to happen. And the other thing is occasionally very rarely people to develop resistance to these neuro-toxins. There's different ones that are on the market of available. I always say that if you feel that you know what isn't working as well maybe try another one right And the ones. That the chew that i mainly use dischord imbo. I may be metabolising it

If you're familiar with that area real close to a giant park named after George W. Bush, Yeah, care for that, anyway. A Bengal tiger was lounging and someone's front yard kind of prowling up and down the street. People were pretty surprised to see a tiger. Okay, So it sounds like some guy had the tiger living in his house. Yeah, and before he came out and realized the tiger was out of the house. His neighbor came out with a gun. Yeah. Waller County deputy who lives in the neighborhood pulled out his service weapon. Now the tiger doesn't see that as a command to stop. The tiger doesn't know you pulled a gun on it right? Exactly. Asses. The man the you know, deputy of the neighbor is pointing a gun at the Tiger. The Tiger's owner, We assume ran outside said Don't shoot, Don't shoot and then runs up to the tiger kisses. It kisses the tiger took him by a scholar and took him into his house. And then while people are out there with their cameras filming, he came back outside with the tiger loaded him up in his truck and then drove away before the police could get there.

Wow or I bought it at for ninety. Flip I just walked in with half of my stash because I'm like maybe a wait a wait to see if someone else gets at the five, hundred or six hundred later in the week. Two hundred, thirty, thousand. Bell's good I'm going to make a bridge in an incline baby. Let's go all right one more one eight hundred dewitt law, one eight hundred dewitt law lot. It was twice. There is an update on this Ahmad Armory case now just to refresh you if you don't know a Marbury is. This guy was jogging through a neighborhood. He had a run in with a father and son duo that were chasing him down the street in their truck said was filming this from behind, and they filmed the moment where this. Younger Guy the son. got into an altercation with the Montgomery and then shot and killed him right there in the streets some new stuff that we've learned number one. I guess there's more video of that truck that was following the father and son and the truck that ended up killing him. Aubrey how many people were taking videos of this? I think it was the same guy I think it's just a longer video or another video, and they're saying now that they may have been chasing after him in the truck for like three minutes, so there's like a lot more of them going to try to get him in in track him down. Are they still in jail? They're still in. Both of them are still in Gerald as far as I know, have they had? An arraignment or no I mean obviously everything that everything with the the judicial system is grounded to a halt. There's still some stuff going on, but as far as I know I believe they're both still in jail right now with these charges, but the other thing that we've founded, this is definitely an interesting piece of information years before he gunned down while jogging Ahmad arbitrary had a run in with cops in which they've found him in a park, sitting alone in his car, and they tried to chase him according to this newly released video. In this video from November, two thousand, seventeen, you have. Ahmad arbitrary is parked his car in like an area of the grass of the park, and the police showed up and his his vibe on this is why are you messing with me? I'm not doing anything here and he starts get heated and the COPS vibe is. This is a spot where there's known to be drug deals, and one of the officers actually attempts to taste him in his Taser fails, and you can just feel back and forth that. There is not a good vibe going on here. amonte Aubrey was not a fan of these police bothering him, and the police are not a fan of him in his behavior, which may be something that was percolating under the surface in this city for quite some time, because this is not the only run-ins that we've seen here a moment. There's just rap. Identification. Mind you. He's not doing anything. Just sitting there. He said he was rapping guard bureau. Who Runs. With, you you WANNA? Know what in which you? Get of your pocket. I ain't got you know. I'll tell you why I'm here I'll tell you why. Because this area is known for drug activity. Through. Tiny clinched over there. Yourself I did. I did it was early to. Who's the of got all of them I? I did my best. Screw. But you can hear like both sides are approaching the situation in a way where he clearly does not trust police officers because he's had bad interactions with them, you could tell them the past, and they're clearly not trusting this guy, and they're going back and forth, and this is escalated to where young each other and you have to remember. He didn't do anything he was your car parked in. Park right by the train tracks, and he gets pulled over or stop. Yeah, they just pulled out or otherwise. Yep, and because the area is known for drug drug dealings, which is something that I feel like police officers over US I think if they want to Chine to. It's like smells like marijuana. Like I got the the with of marijuana in the vehicle. Even alone. What if they used a different crime like? This area is known for murders right? Hand full of birds out here lately. See here's Morrissey Lane just beyond. Backup. Backup. Term. Chance on the car. Around the. Karma check. Your weapons. He said you don't have any reason. I'm not searching you. I'm checking you for weapons in what that is not. A not searching you of checking you for weapons. Which? Search for weapons I mean if you're the first police officer to police officer to invent search, free. Check. The research is like this is against my fourth amendment. Right to illegal search and seizure and you go well. You don't have any amendment. Right against me. Just looking in. It's not a search. Check on just taking a peek here so he's not searching. It's not a described. I'm not brandishing my weapon and was shown at off, so he's. He's trying to recreate this conversation in a way. That really doesn't make any sense. Warrant. And, he doesn't have any weapons coming up on me making Connors, okay, you bother me for nothing. You can't car. Search your car. I'm and. Tried to him, but did tasers did not hit him. He was not taes. This officer just showed up after some of the stuff has happened. To stay on the ground, okay. Checked. For Weapons! Weapons. Muslims are. Searches are different. Turning behind. He was very avid album. Yeah. That was very aggravating. He's being very conscious now. If you watch the video. He was like getting up next to the officer. He was pissed off and he was definitely aggravated. If you watch the video now, you might say. He has the right to be aggravated and I think he does. Why are they bothering? Him Are the hassling. And this incident, just kind of shows how that vibe was between law enforcement in between this guy and they city, and he has a history with them. Then there was an incident where he took a gun to some high school basketball game, and it was a big ordeal, and he ended up getting arrested. There's a history here and. There's even a history. Though I'm not saying that you're excusing. As these things come up. They will be used as the excuse has to. Well he was, he was a criminal or look this. "Just a moment tips at the news. Junkie DOT COM. An email coming in. And I've gotten this. Various Times over the last couple of months here gary emails and he said micro droplets suspending an air on video. You ever see your breath when it's really cold outside. That's micro droplets. No coughing necessary. Watch the video please. And I need to have seen that a bunch of times. Gary and it's just like a lot of the other videos out there that got people so scared about covid. Nineteen one for instance was this animation of a jogger running past another jogger when they wanted people to like not even go outside in. Jog. They're gonna all one jogger could coffin to somebody else's swift stream and they could get corona virus and they're just never been any science on that there's never been anything the science shows you that mostly this is passed around by super spreaders. Almost all occasions are inside indoors where this is spread around. It's almost always somebody who has coughed. Let's say or you know spelled some of the the virus and sometimes it can get caught enough updraft and go into circulation in a restaurant or some sort of indoor area. There's a lot of studies out there now and I've read most of them about these super spreaders people who are passing around the virus and where they're getting it from. I'll never forget when Cuomo was at his press conference and he got the data from where all these people got covid nineteen and he himself was like damn. I did not expect this. Most of the people were at home actually is people weren't out hanging out in the park. Throwing a Frisbee violated some law. These people were at home. And and so it's usually somebody who has coughed or who has done something to spread the virus out into the air. And when you see these animations all another one I saw was somebody at a grocery store and it confident like just spreads with the whole grocery store and it's just not the way it works according to these studies. It's mostly done by. Who ARE SUPER SPREADERS? Who come into contact with a lot of people close quarters usually indoors and when people say a symptomatic they don't just mean a human being is breathing you get some of their breath near you. They symptomatic because you don't have the flu like symptoms or you don't have any you just you gotta cough every now and then our talking earlier Sabrina going. We wouldn't necessarily notice if we just had a little cough every now and then something was up. Yeah and then I heard your practice cough which was really just utilize to get an actual caller go Let me tell you listening to it and surround sound in my car and makes you feel like you are in just the sickness right in the tornado of sickness. Or you're GONNA catch up with US shadow we did. That's what I said. We should wait and then said he was like no. We're not waiting. People said she can't have a shot for twelve hours. See resume took a shot. Yeah Yeah we did. We thought it was the right thing to do. In in your honor we took a shy is the is it the wrong thing to do to take a shot. No no no. I don't think so. I was cheers to you to all the people out there. You did say you already ate and ate a Granola Bar Also please let us let us all know when we get the results of our tests just so you know. I mean don't you don't WanNa hog it or lexi. How you guys treat me for the next forty eight hours. Well I mean either way. I think it's our medical right to know. The results of our testing of medical writes EPA. I might have signed off a couple of them can. What were you saying was in this this little questionnaire that you got before you give blood there so they give you like an ipad and they answered digital now. Yeah they or they have the option of the person who is taking your blood pressure to ask you the questions. But I'm like I'm going to do it myself. And a lot of them are standard. Of course they had the one which I've heard back and forth that they don't have that rule anymore but they definitely did if you're a male and have vets exit another male and you can't do it and they had one was like if you were born before nineteen seventy six and had sex with the male. Yeah well they they also have that for antibody donations to the. That's just the way it's been because that was one of those moments where I go. What look it doesn't seem right. I don't think that they run the blood for HIV. I don't think that they do this because HIV and even if they do it doesn't matter because HIV can take too long to show up in your blood and so the theory there is that this puts you in a risk category and it's pretty dated. What's up pretty good. It's really dated from like the eighties and nineties where they were saying. This is a risk factor. We don't want somebody to get a blood donation and they just haven't updated that they haven't changed updated know signing off digitally which is interesting. Well the one thing is there was a huge push to get rid of that after of all things post after post because all these people were like. Oh my God you know this obviously hit the gay community and these guys were lining up like we want to donate blood and they said No. We can't do it so I've seen that before. What I did not see was the consent form and the consent form was for like two different a studies they were calling and one was like. You couldn't opt out or if you chose not to do it then maybe you wouldn't get their results. But then I had seen the covid like title and so I thought maybe that was the first study but there was another study. Was like if you sign this. We have the right to use all of your information like your name address. Phone number really results. You can opt out if you want by writing a letter to the study. Dr which is it seems difficult especially if it's not something that I'm getting a copy of And then if you decide to opt out already have the results and can use it anyway. Or they're going to tell you what your blood type is as well. Yes but I believe a all really see God see line and I have no idea how well for them. They have to do the type test because they got to know who to give the blood right. So it's it's good to know. I have no idea what mine is but weird those moments where it was like. Oh you guys. It's not just getting donated to a person who needs a transfusion. Being divvied up for steady took a lot of your blood to a-positive yep see landed. I saw quite a bit of your blood weird thing. Yeah I more of you than ever now is good to go you know. Once he was done I was looking away and the UK and my. I'm just preparing myself. Not to think about the needle and I'm currently thinking about and he's like I have this trick. There was telling this girl to repeat the word pomace hippopotamus take it right out and before annuity it was great and then I felt the pressure on my chest The sweats Mike. Hey I don't want to be alarming or anything but I think that I'm going to pass out and he's like okay. Here's the second trick for you shake your legs and cough and I go. Okay do you want me to put my mask on placebo to cough into the old military trick? I did it into my mass. But he said it was like it brings a lot more oxygen to your head but also you're feeling back in your feet idea but then he starts as as a joke may be talking about the nastiest stuff like he's seen in the military in some guys infected Tony. You're making all of the pass out it's GonNa work against him but there was and then some nurse just drove by and lifted up. My legs like didn't say hey I'm GonNa put you back now just recline and then ran away. Did this so they told you within forty eight hours to give you a call or text. News is good news but there's a way to log in with the information and my bar code really would I think have the results on their alright. So that's weird to my friend. Took the COVID test. He found out via he sent me the screen shot on his phone. Looked it up on a website. So they don't call you. I don't think so and they don't even let you. Your test. Results are available. You just have to keep testing checking them in you. See them on the website. Yup Most see well let us know how our tests were please. It's very very oh I can it earlier when we were still at the station we in close enough for you to get it very well could not gotten it all. I would say that no matter what time you had it. We were probably in very close proximity because you guys are are scared. No I'm not scared I'm sounds about. It just seems easier just to let you take the test and then we know what's wrong with us. I mean that's fantastic. It's a great way to do things. So thank you for that. The problem for you know what they did. Meet me to go back for. Follow up while you out up stuff. Samina out What's the follow up? So it just seems really easy. If I'm being used as the Guinea pig for this test that I should probably rest for the rest of the denker. You cannot drink though you have to follow all the rules. You cannot drink for twelve hours if there is no rule that said not drinking. Talk to eat right There is a story I wanted to get to this interesting results. You tell us the results. We're this much invested. Now you brought up the surgeon blood donations after the pulse attack. Somebody on the texting service said that they waited in that long line and give blood and then they went to Elixir afterwards. And about in about three shots in they had to. Uber. Only just completely gets hammered. Because they've taken that much blood out of your system someone's GonNa have to drive to Maitland. Do feel woozy right now. I feel okay. I did started Start to feel a little woozy when I was doing the next episode. Maybe 'cause I just wasn't ready. I don't know okay right now to look Pale. No you'll get a good. You're looking you sick or anything. No actually not looking this direction facing you look fine. You Look Healthy. Look good to go. Is it so awkward to look at me I? It's not awkward to look at you. You want me to look at you and tell you you look pretty. That's awkward. I'll say that's really weird. Say Eight we got to go to break. Unfortunately otherwise maybe x Ray. Vision is something that have talked about for decades and decades and decades. And now they're saying that there's one particular phone out there that they just discovered has the ability to take x ray photos right through people's clothes and they're trying to shut it down. What's happening do you have that phone? And what's this all about is coming up next. Is The news junkie on Real Radio? And how you three times a week plus transfusions and then later on in life now. I just have a weird reaction to it. One time. The nurse walked away and I like just killed over. The device fell out of my arm and I came to with blood spraying all over. It gives me that but throughout that process I had to go in and get all these pictures done of my eye and to get a photograph at the time of your whole eyeball and all the veins stuff they had to inject this stuff in your blood that would change the color of the blood in your veins or whatever. I don't know how it worked but whatever I gotTA check it all the time of this stuff and it made me so I didn't care on the slightest. Real quick here is Mike the guy with dispatched Sabrina at a lot of other people for that matter about getting Kinda queasy having blood drawn. "Love our podcast. We'll your favorite episode was was a review for your favorite book. Anything like that but I had a really good time and it definitely doesn't have to be about our show either. It can be anything if you want to contribute something in some way like Danny distant really awesome fan art which I'm excited about. We did a whole. We got a couple of things coming down the line hopefully but like anything that you want. If you want to drop something Zine that is more or or less appropriate we will let you know and we will definitely be up for putting it in there. That's my ego is very fragile so please be nice to me. Yeah I want more pictures of of cats. That's my goal. Actually if you send us pictures of your pets that's pretty much guaranteed to get it. Yeah that's that's going to be like a whole section. I think if you send in the photo of your pet we'll have to seven extra quarter leasing just for all the pictures but what I what I really loved about our Zine. This year was Paul's Super Long. Titles as like when to stop worrying and love the X.. Men and then knicks super long articles which were were funny and knowledgeable and I loved reading them but oh man they were. They were a lot of pages. Yeah that's a big boy that article I mean. The full edition is on the Patriot. And it's it's insanely low. I I mean like it's detail and it's good. And if you like the alien franchise I mean I think it's a it's a super great read because I don't feel like it is actually long when you read it but when you realize how many words it actually is made out of. It's it's insane it's awesome and for the record I will say we are broadcasting. This episode live on discord. We I made a last minute decision to to display. Let's just do this technology to work. We should just record this. Hang out on dischord. I think after the show's over we're probably going to open it up at hang out with everybody that we've done a handful of times before but for recording just going to be us the deadline for submitting stuff resigns Aaron. You asked a great question in the discord. It's probably going to be the sometime in the middle of February. I'm I'M GONNA I mean looking at my calendar right now we're not. We don't have like a hard deadline for publishing it. But it's going to come out in February so I would say if you get us something by maybe February every ninth February sixteenth. We probably get it out by the end of the month just to give Kate enough time to make sure everything's organized. Because she kills herself for this thing you guys. It's so fantastic. Because is kate goes above and beyond to make it. I cannot express that enough. We've we've done a lot. A lot of things for the Zine last year and Kate has always gone the extra mile to make sure that it's done I I haven't said it to UK. Oh my goodness believe how much work you put into this thing. It's awesome. Well Mike you stay with me and and are still online when I finish it around two. Yeah I gotTA support you however I can because you weren't going to bed on time like regular boy go land on your phone home stop watching. Yeah Yeah I do want to say thank you to both of you. Kate and Micro Making magazine happen I Would inevitably happens is that there's a deadline and then I keep putting it off my my my duties and then I ended up to three thousand words. The day do interning in a day or two late. So it's not that I'm not I. The problem is I have a writing at the very are you last-second right when inspiration strikes hardest. Of course of course it ends up being perfect and when it's finished product because of all your hard work to make me look like a lot more work to do and yet you're still does I emission. I usually get. That's how it always turns out. Okay I don't feel too bad. Politics policy reliably only a little bit late all the time. I'll take it. That's a fucking. Ask me all right you guys. He's live together out. I'm putting the final touches on the scene with like three pages to spare for whatever Brian does. And I'm like brand. I need it right now. However I'm sitting on my computer share like l from death note shoving candy into my face playing the yoga? Yeah I I wonder how much stuff we actually did last year in twenty nineteen if only to the point where I think by the end of the year like my whole body was like doc you gotTa stop you gotTa slow the fuck down. and which is why I mean. They were scaling anything back for next year. Because I don't think that we're putting out anything any less. But this is GonNa that'd be our last quarterly Zine and I think we're going to move to an annual zine that's going to be exercised and all this other stuff but I think in in exchange. We're probably going to be doing a little bit more focusing on creating extra stuff maybe creating a second feed of things that has like some of the release patriots stuff. That's been on the Patriot feed backlog for a while or maybe we'll insert it in the main feed. He'd just trying to change things up maybe do more experimental stuff on the show. We joked before we started recording about doing like. SM are episode. But I mean. I'm all for experimenting experimenting with the with the PODCAST and I want to do more wild and crazy things like weird bad list. Essentially Brian Nick. Brian Rene and I did last week where we talked about all these movies and yes we are a lot of people mad a lot of people mad but maybe that's the goal for twenty. Sorry bright go had this is going to say another candidate was tires. Danny says he wasn't. He was heard in the other candidate for an off. The Wall was the drive time radio show though. It was appalled at Matic. Mike and the Douche. That'd be characters for that. Yeah we'll do like a full blown radio show where morning zoo crew that morning Sukru bound affects everything. I mean no joke since I started this podcast I have dreamt of doing something. I like that if only just have like a soundboard next to my computer that I could hit the like are like noise as things are happening and I'd have to put on a whole voice and then we have a whole cast to care. I mean but again this is like more production crazy shit but I'm also like four doing that and I realized that exander can handle it and also the big thing is that we don't want to burden zander. So it's like how can we do stuff like would just plain live recorded episode with minor editing. Be Fine to put up on a secondary feed. We're we're like here's some extra shit that I re- comic books is doing because that's probably probably not in the vein of what we're doing right like I don't think that that works for ir. CB feed but it's something that could be fun for us to do and it would still be like comic book oriented did in some capacity but a little bit off the wall compared to a regular RCB after dark. Yeah Yeah this is the adult swim version of comic books where it's adult stuff and we're we're GONNA have weird off the wall fucking ten minute long. TV Openings Super Chill Music though we'll hire some some beat maker off the Internet off soundcloud and get him or her to make the all the music for us. But I really want everybody's morning commutes where we stream-of-consciousness Oliver Thoughts O'Brien's super angry angry. I'm noticing all the fonts on billboards and got all the noise of the subway from New York. You would hear me talking in the background but it would be muffled as the sound of. Subways is happening in the uh-huh Paul. I don't know if you do walk to work. No I know I I do have a car above. My commute is about eight minutes so it's a very you know truncated in conversation. I had with myself about judge. DREDD before you get to deepen it. You're like Oh this is like four minutes of silence of road. I know isn't just a very quiet. I am the law. I see somebody I see. Somebody run a stop sign. And that's the one thing I do want to say the reason we're able to do all this stuff and all these amazing ideas is that I feel this past year has been a really increased my part of fan interaction. I hate the word Fan. I guess friend interaction. Yeah reruns of the show. I mean it is. It's it's been really heartwarming to have A people comment on the show and see how much they like it and and again it's not so much a fan crater dynamic as it just the friends of the show that are excited to talk about comics with us and I really love that if if that gives us an opportunity to do more off the wall or experimental or just Jerry more content Thank you so much like. It's talking about comics. An excuse to do it. We'll take so. I was kind of hesitant to to start up the the discord because in my mind it was something like this is just one more thing I gotta manage. I'm and not to say that I I hate any of the things that we do but like sometimes I lose track of some stuff. You know like our twitter will go dead for two or our instagram. Go dead for a while like it has right now because I've just been overwhelmed. I haven't had time to plan stuff. Or for instance like our good reads there. Is I think a month last year where the first of the month stuff didn't go up for four days just because I was on a time crunch for work I was traveling and like I just missed posting the the. What are you reading this month? And all that stuff and it's a bummer. And because it's it's kind of a it's just a lot to juggle sometimes But the discord has become one of the most amazing things as like. Our group has put together because everybody everybody on this group. And it's not a lot it's like thirty or so people that we know kind of jump into now including the ire of the folks and it is a pleasure to constantly be interacting with fans and then understand or show is. I mean we've got a backlog of two hundred and thirty one episodes plus bonus. It's like almost three hundred total things we've put out on the field MHM and they understand like where we are in our corner of comics. They understand how we approach things like. We're how we feel about things like garbage which comic skate stuff like. They know that we're not gonNA Stanford that Shit and like we have specific corner that we we get to sit in and these people come to come to the shows discord and they understand like who we are talking to them feels like natural like they are another part of the Group of people that makes me feel comfortable to talk about comic books with. I guess I'm I'm not speaking well because of this beers hitting very what I'm trying to say is like my my biggest joke for this show has always been. I don't like talking about comic books with people because it's true I go to a convention in some goes. Well what did you think about X. And I'm like I didn't read that X.. Men Book and they're like Oh well Mike this hypothetic- hypothetical situation I was just using X.'s. This is a placeholder and I go. Oh now we're back to square one. But what I what I'm really trying to say is the joke is..

"If I get loud it gets really loud but then if I talk quiet it's way too. Is that how sound works all right. Let's get the show. Oh started this is the I read comic books podcast. I'm your host Mike Rap in with me this week. I have three very special people. We're all in the same room in a abasement just like the old days. Recording I re- comic books. I joined this week by Paul Jason. Hello Mike Bryan. Murray and Kate Lanphier high idea the pointing thing at home by the way when you do that at home. I'm so excited that here. This is the annual number five. This this is the fifth anniversary of comic books. We've been doing this sense. Twenty fifteen now. It's twenty twenty. I don't know how decades work that's why last week's episode covered eleven years i. It was called the longest decade because it wasn't a decade it was a decade plus one and it was the longest episode so that makes us. We're trying all sorts of new things this year. Twenty twenty this episode today is going to be all about just talking about what we've been doing for the last year at our economic. This is our official hangout episode. Where we just this kind of shoot the shit let you guys know how about things reflect on some of the good and bad times mostly? Good Times that we've had over the last year and so I guess to get things started. Did Kate Brian. You guys have in place you guys want to start with us and we kind of decided fuck it. We're GONNA drink beer we're going to. We're going to wing it today. But was there anything that stood out. You're like I'm excited to talk about this on the show today. Well speaking of drinking beer and hanging out I thought this year at C.. Two or last year I see eighty two was a blast. We were all together. It's very common that all of us can be in the same room all of the contributors and everybody's Andrew Single Person. Every person the show was there we got to spend some time together. Have some fun in Chicago. We got to record some episodes. We got to meet new Comic Book Friends which is always the best part of conventions and I thought that was a great way to kind of kick off year. That was in March. And then I think after that really set the tone for the show for the year for me at least that totally I got Outta in my box a little bit and the Grand Rapids Zine Festival and represented the podcast there and then got another event coming up pretty soon. It's exciting I have to be extroverted to talk to people and get them to listen to our show and at side. It's unnatural for me but a lot of fun yeah I'm super glad that you're doing that. Unfortunately I'm in Michigan this week otherwise. I think I would have flowed out just to do this because I couldn't be at the last one. I want to be the person at the Table One time. At least it'd be so much better than I am Mike. You're you're allowed better shameless self-promotion the rest of us. Are you saying that. Because usually I go home and go what the fuck just just a heads up to everyone out there and I guess this this year's going to be insane I mean we're going to Emerald City Comma. Gone if you didn't know we're going to emerald city. We've got a handful of US go in there. If you're not going to be at Emerald City why not I mean come on get on a plane. It's easy right. It's just super easy now. I under but still. If you're in the area you're planning to go to Emerald City. You should totally make sure that you let us know that you're going to be there. It was a blast and next time I will try. I say this every year. I'M NOT GONNA try to plan everything and try to whatever because it stresses me the fuck out and this year Emerald City. I'm just it's GonNa be like I'm going to be at the CON and we're going to do things and then we're going to drink beer with handful of people that we know already going. It's going to be great but Brian. I didn't let you take your moment. What's what's happening? What are you excited about? Or what were you excited about for me. Twenty nineteen was defined by the IRA star wars comic books podcast. That was so much. It's fun just like sitting down to record as episodes of Cara after we recorded the one about upset nine the next weekend rolled around and I realize like Oh what am I gonNa do it like yeah like should I just text Cara. They say what's up at that was it was quite a monumental thing. You guys did not to say that anything was rushed rushed but it did come together really fast and even despite that it was such a cool show like I'm really listening to the episodes episodes. Go Up I just skim through them. Really Quick Listen mm-hmm it like two point five times speed to see if I hear anything weird and if it's fine then I just put the episode with some minor things that check at the beginning but now actually paying attention into the content in a on a deeper level and trying to link it up with stuff that I know. It's such a fucking cool show. I just want to do more of that kind of stuff in the future. I hope everyone out there loved it. 'cause I dug it a lot. I think that Karen I were a really good foil. As like as Kate has pointed out but like Cara is super positive and wants to put a good spin on everything and talk about him. Or as. I'm kind of a fucking Downer. So don't be too hard on yourself Bryan. Speaking of that. Mike we did. We read the do patrol. Do we never got a good name for the known as Mike and Paul Redo virtual but that was Iran soon patrol comic books. Jason the whole thing. I mean now on sorry we are not creative over here. I mean I mean. That was a pretty stupendous run. I think is probably some of the hardest work I put into a show like now to say. Don't work on the show hard but I was really trying to study that like seven all the volumes that we went through six seven volumes. I don't remember but still I was really trying to get into it and to the point where we had to break one of the episodes in half like I remember sitting there. We're recording it. And I was like Paul. We are only halfway through this volume. And we've got an hour's worth of content with a fucker. We're going to do that. It was such a cool thing. Yeah I mean it's been a while since I've actually taken no verdict comic really detailed notes really broken it down and I think that's something hopefully we can do more of in the future of people like those uh episodes. I love doing that kind of stuff. Such a blast I'm hoping that we've got some other stuff coming up. We announce the SAGA OF SAGA. That is coming out like very soon. the end of this month. I know Sandra's working really hard to turn around like the first volume of that. His editing. It right now actually earlier. So he's as we record right now on Friday. It's coming out of the week from now. I guess when this episode drops it'll be out this Friday. I should say January thirty first. The first episode is coming out where you can get like a brief insight as to what it's GonNa be and we are going through every single episode of our issue of Saga like issue by issue with discussions about the ramifications of the plot where seeds or listening all that Kinda Kinda stuff and is huge. We've got a bunch of episodes recorded we've got more episodes the record and we'll be dropping to episodes two or three episodes depending Every week nick. It's going to be monumentous so I hope you guys get excited because there's a lot to get through haven't read saga get on it before you start this series because it's going to be full spoilers doing more stuff like that is is what. I'm hoping we can do more than that. We've been trying to put it. Fill up our patriotic with as much content as possible and I think people have enjoyed it. I know that the folks that are have been supported for a long time or just like give me more of this shit. I love it so I really appreciate the feedback on that but we did a lot of really interesting the last year. Yeah I was going to say on top of going to see to that actually spawned a couple of great episodes. We've got to interview Dave Baker. I think meeting people cons and keeping them on the show. Oh Yeah and not. Even that was interview. I think we did with Dave Baker initially and it wasn't so much that he was promoting his stuff just wanted to talk about comics. I love that idea like we. We can have recreate. It has a different vantage point of the industry and the creative process that we don't have we just as fans don't know the INS and outs of the creative process and if it's not so much here's my book please by. Here's why I love what I do. That's such a great conversation to have right. I mean the thing that really worked a lot for me with that that episode of the the interview that we did was he like Dave is not necessarily someone that is striving to work for the big to he really just wants to put on his own shit and to see that perspective and not to say that that is like meet pooh-poohing anybody that wants to go right for marvel or DC or anybody else but like the thing that really struck me about that is he. Was I wanNA make my own fucking comics and it wasn't even about a self Ownership thing is just. These are stories that I can only tell on my own like no big publishers. Going to want to make this story and I totally respect about that. Plus the guy's got he's a font of knowledge when it comes to the industry and that Blue Lizzani like sitting back. It'd be like I don't have to do anything just to ask David simple question. He will unfold the entire universe in front of you. I I really love that about him or anything else that I mean that'd be beyond that stuff you look like you've got something I can actually look at you know when you want to speak. It's Great Yeah Yeah I can't just But in a natural for me I really dove into our quarterly. Zine this last year and other. We're GONNA try something nothing else in the year to come but if anybody out there that's listening has anything that they want. Include in our last quarterly Zine. Go ahead and send it and tell us why.

"And if they win the penalty battle, they could. They could be a lot better shape because surrendering those dumb yards. Surrending wearning assing yards to die like Ryan Fitzpatrick. That is the only player f. l. history, two games to four plus yard and fourteen days. Yeah, that's hard to believe because it's Ryan Fitzpatrick, but you know what they call it fits magic for reason. There's a lot of people thinking, this isn't just a fluke. I'm not one of those people necessarily, but you know, would the Steelers are going to have to be disciplined. That kind of ties into my third key the game. And that is if the Steelers want to win this football game, and we'll talk about how that can happen here in a second. They're gonna win this football game. They can't turn the football over and as good as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in terms of their differential in terms of takeaways and giveaways, whether tied for fourth best in the league, the Steelers are at the bottom of the barrel minus four. They've given the ball away six times and they've only taken it away twice. The Steelers are going to have to either be on the plus side or just a push. If they want to actually win this football game, Ben Rothlisberger has to stay clean. He can't turn the ball over when they're running with the ball, whether it's Ryan. Switzerland return a receiver getting yards after the catch or James. Connor out of the backfield protecting the football is paramount. If the Pittsburgh Steelers wanna go into Tampa Bay and beat an undefeated buccaneers team, that is one of the hottest team in the National Football League right now. So for me, that's my third key is protect the football. So for me was you know, they offense has gotta go blow for blow with these guys in terms of putting up points if gotta get pressure on Fitz Patrick and they have to protect the football. What is your? Go ahead and recap your three Keyser Bryan before we move onto the next segment? So once again Steelers linebackers I is OJ Howard just hitting as soon as the ball is snapped and making sure that he does not get free release. The second one was the interior linemen versus Gerald McCoy, and even even the other guys on the on the end different stunts Jason Pierre. Paul's another guy force I'm looking at a battle in the trenches for my second one. And the third was the battle of discipline, winning the winning the penalty, battle. Yeah, absolutely. There's all very good keys, and you know, we're not. We're not here trying to break down game film and exit and all that stuff. A lot of people like that. Sometimes you just want to know, hey, what should I be looking for in the upcoming matchup because not everyone follows every team, especially in NFC team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers as close as they do someone in the division or someone in the conference. So we're here to try to give you everything that you need to know as you get prepared for the weekend ahead and especially for the Steelers game on Monday nights. Now we go from our key matchups to three players to watch. This could be on either side of the football could be on either team, but three players that we feel can turn the tide in the game one way or the other. And that could be any number of players, Brian, I'm gonna kick it off to you. Let you go first, who's your first player? Not necessarily the top. We're not going to say, you know that you have the this is the the most important in no order unless you want to which your first player to watch. You know what go in with all of the distractions this week. All the controversy. I gotta look at number eighty four, Antonio Brown AB really needs to have a blockbuster game too. I don't wanna say to justify this these actions but did just win back some appeal. Let's put it that way. I watched the. I watched his meeting with the press today. I thought that was bizarre. It gave me flashbacks to in two thousand two. But I really think that he needs to have a great game. He is talking about, he's saying that it's about winning and it's not about stats. So he needs to show that the also has to blow up the something about Antonio Brown. I mean, he is second the league targets, and that has been talked about a lot this week..

"Assing, Tammy, was Cussing our out and Tammy's fiance. Reggie had to physically remove her from the space, the detente on the limo driver outfit. That's when Jennifer had Jennifer Hudson. They had on that turn the car hand over hand as outfit. But. When that same limo driver had that earpiece. She was talking about. Tammy at it to on that we are. We literally looked like, you know that years on the dog on lady in the Trump the long like Brown. That's what her we. Teabag me cheap. Him block. I don't even remember why was she blocked me whatever her Scottie Pippin looking ask anyway, but yeah, so I was, I'm tired of that basketball wives. You know, everything that we enjoyed. I just feel like we're getting just cheated because she didn't show up to the reunion. So as a as a gift, I guess a parting gift, we do end up getting to see Malaysia, literally, throw a table are so mad Amsterdam, so I'm looking forward to that. We still get bad love hip hop Hollywood. I just wanna say I'm tired of getting the bad ended in the ban rat. I am this week on the show drew AK little fears. He was back on the show and he literally is now dating a girl who used to be quote, unquote best friends with my niece's girlfriend. Okay. And who we later found out, you know, cheated it, something flirtatious. Messed around with money says girlfriend. Now she's dating. Money says son's father. Okay, right. And the fact that he would say her and it's not just for the show because there's tangible evidence this being something has been taking place for a while and the fact that he would do that to me, I just really felt where money's was coming from. Yes, she didn't even really make it about the messy aspects. She literally started speaking from her heart real shit. She was like, I feel like you have never been concerned with me. You've never supported me the fact that you can make these decisions like she just really broke some shit down. And meanwhile, you have this girl in the background who don't give a damn about nothing, but having a moment on TV came down these steps, all kinds of shit being completely inappropriate, not being not behaving in the way that's conducive to some sort of resolution money set down. So background, money synagogue had a huge falling out once it became known that they were together because the girl came downstairs in the scene, which was totally set up whatever. She comes downstairs in the scene and now is no. That her and drew are dating. Then for Mason is back to my niece. Of course, he's upset because the girl has literally like it's like she's going out of her way to put ourself in nieces live, and they literally hate each other. So drew orchestrates big, sit down with between all the parties because they do have a kid together, whatever Monis literally said down in his group and seaside before I ask anything drew, is this a real relationship? Yes or no. If so, what? He's he alludes to the fact that it is. So she used visibly, see her check herself and in approach the conversation from fair place, like with, you know, resolve in my like, okay, since it is, she's like, Tiffany, a never had a personal problem with you..

Like those the videos they are watch. Yeah, you're getting pink guy. Well, mostly Instagram sites. I follow. Pretty graphic Matt, looked follow. This is an affront, but what I do what I talk about or what I writes, just enjoy super ship and like real life. So like barstool. Follow out of college sites to fifth year where it's just like, all right, cool course you too. Yeah, but they're eating, asked inside bars. That's why we're just like Jesus Christ. Like I saw young men yesterday on on one of the sites and. He didn't know that Assad's season was over. It didn't know was grilling season, didn't know his time for grill your ass off and it was just going lose is what they call it. They call it a Butler and you can take a can of beer and just port right down your ass. Crack into your mouth, everyone boat that was moving. So when the beer was coming out of this chicks asshole. Okay. Spring Oliver's face is everything like that. They just the caption. Just said, well, that's that's the fastest way to get pink eye, which is true, but it's because of the season. Now if you did that an cooler season, like when you're supposed to October on, you don't have to worry about that, right? You're not hot. You're not sweating. It's not swampy down there, but that that guy just did not get the memo. You send them over to grill your ass off. Get him some seasonings. Let them know. You need to start grilling before you start eating. So you don't get conjunctiva. Yeah. Yeah, you gotta make sure that meat.

"That is a funny story about me. Assing my sister. I was like, well, so what she like and I was just so intrigued with her and she was, I was like, what's your voice? Like? What does she sound like? My sister really wanted hook us up because you know, she loved and she knew her from the bible city. And she's like, well, her voice. It's not too low and it's not too highs. You're just being like very light, neutral with everything so so I wouldn't. So I wouldn't be turned off anything, and she goes, well, it's just normal. I'm like, oh, I kind of imagined her with like a high pitched voice. And I really like high-pitched voices. And then Shelby goes, it's the highest pitch really trying to sell us. And I was like, okay, let's meet. And then she, she said, us up a church we met, and then the rest is history. Basically. I'm missing something. That's funny really quick. I have to comment is Marcus. I feel like one thing that people probably don't pick up about you that I picked up after we met you guys, is that you are. I'm trying to phrase this the right way, but, but you're very. Your big picture guy, but you're very much into like specifics and like. Having a conversation? Yeah, with Marcus, he's very much into the details of how something happened or what happened. And it's so funny because online this huge, big personality new. These really crazy funny voices and accents, and acting and all that. But like, you know, your example is because he did it at our house was we were talking about how when we were at church, the pastor said, not once in the bible. Do you hear? Jesus was running juice. Was never running anywhere in the buydell. I'm back on this guy. The whole sermon like Marcus hold onto that like, whoa, that was deep. You know what I mean? Like specifics. But anyways, the voice I thought that was so funny because you're like, what is her voice? Like? Forget it. Oh, yeah. He's so into specifics and I can even test to win. I think it was like the second time that I ever met Marcus was at the passion conference, which is huge Christian conference, and I didn't really know much about vine or anything like that. I kind of knew that Marcus was. Did you know him from by hopping? No, I had no idea. I have. No. He was popping Shelby told me a little bit, but I basically came to this conference with him and girls and guys were just forming humongous lines around him, screaming for him. I was like, okay, this guy. I know I'm I'm Justin Bieber, but yeah, it was definitely a crazy time, especially when I first met Marcus. Those also part of the attraction to Chris didn't care? No, it wasn't. I was like, okay, this is cool like that. I can trust that relationship and I met her through my sister. I met her at church. It was like it was all very organic. I can't imagine if I would have just moved out to LA and like tried to find someone out here would have been nearly impossible because you even if motivation, even if your your intentions are are, are good in true, you're always questioning people's motivations. We have any form of, you know, if you have anything to to give to people are people to gate. You know if people can gain something from you, you're always kind of questioning, especially especially in LA..
