He slid it on the ground across the floor through the lane and into the corner at Assembly hall. I can close my eyes and I see the reaction of the photographer. Night gets rejected. The athletic director for Indiana, Ralph Floyd comes down onto the floor to meet with the three officials can verifying that night had been ejected. The fans were chanting Bobby, Bobby Bobby as night walks off the court. Reed was a heck of a free throw shooter. Big ten's leading free throw shooter 95% from the line. He got six. Technicals. Six technical free throws as a result of nights actions. He missed three of them. The places is assembly halls rocking at this point. Great, Doyle wrote for the Indianapolis Star. A piece about Where that chair is today. A red molded plastic Sheet metal legs. The story goes that the chair could be stored deep inside of assembly Hall. Great visited met with Indiana University's facilities director, A guy named Chuck Crab. And it is considered, in Greg's words in this piece, the most famous chair in college basketball history. The question is what happened to the chair. And is this Chuck Crab told Greg Doyle Stories about that chair are many. Nobody knows. A handful of people think they really have it. And Crab said it's like the ending to Indiana Jones. The Ark of the Covenant is On one of those crates in a giant warehouse, but which Crate Nobody knows. One story has night, signing the chair back in 2000 and three for an auction for charity. That is not believed to be true. That is not believe that it was the actual chair. Assembly hall Open in 1971 in Indiana, ordered 100 of those red molded plastic chairs like he'd sit in in in a classroom back in the day. And they were to be used on the team benches. And over the years they were eventually replaced by padded chairs. A number of them replaced because night had punctured them with with his with his hand, slamming his fist into him. But over the years, those 100 red molded plastic chairs became 90. Then 80, then 70, and they just seem to disappear. And is this facility director indicated there were occasions where people might wonder in think they were perhaps one of the chairs that night. Through and would take one. Maybe workers. They bring friends into the building. They'd find themselves into the room and one would go missing. There are 16 of those chairs left in that room in the basement of Assembly hall. And nobody knows at least nobody willing to go on the record with where that chair actually is. That chair. Air quotes here has gone off in various auction's over the years. But it's from people who maybe had wandered into the room, taking a chair and tried to then resell it or auction it off. Great. Doyle's piece is fantastic Indy Star today and the legend of the unaccounted for chair that was thrown 36 years ago today. Now that led me to this. And as I read Greg Doyle's piece and preparing for the show at about 5 30 Today, I started jotting down. Because this would have to be the knight chair ins, and it would have to be one of the more bizarre in game acts of behavior by a coach or manager. That list would include Lupin! "Got assembly hall with Indiana getting ready to take out of the Arkansas Razorbacks here today with this IT second round ball game on the line. Of course, the advancement to the third round of this. If you could come up with a victory, and Eric sure there's no question this Indiana basketball team. I really watch that today. I do think they proved that in the second half Indiana could most certainly packed it in after a disappointing first half in the first round. But these guys responded, I think if anything that tells you that they do not want to go home. Although it is a home game. Indiana wants to continue Vance in this tournament you can tell with how well they played in that second half. Now, I don't think that the hoosiers can afford to come out flat. In today's game. Like they did against Saint Francis. This is a whole nother ball game here against a really good Arkansas team in Arkansas team that struggled at times because I think there because of their youth throughout the SEC season. But this is a very capable team. In Arkansas, they've got some guys that can really flat out shoot the basketball. They're big and physical. They're fast. They like to score a bunch of points. I think for Indiana the test is gonna come early in Indiana come out early in this first half. Like they did in the second half against a Francis. Both of these teams will not have their leading score on the floor today. Daniel gaffer, the six eleven sap more has decided not to play in any games to protect his status as entering the draft for the NBA next year. So he is not playing period. Roleo Lankford has had a back injury ever since maybe the ten minute. Mark of the first half of the Ohio State ballgame he tweaked that back in issue in that Todd, and he has not been able to recover. Sufficiently even practicing at this point. So obviously, he's not available for this Indiana ball club that does change both of these teams in a significant way. It's an interesting dynamic. I it's you want to go back to the first game in the season. Don and say, okay. Here's what's going to happen. But these two teams are going to play completely different Indiana. It's going to be less predictable. Arkansas is going to be much less predictable. I think the battle here today between these two teams is gonna come inside the pain. I think that is the advantage for Indiana right now, Ken, Indiana dominate the boards dominate points in the paint. And when the game gets tied at the end who comes up with the big offensive rebounds. And I think without Daniel gathered in the game, that's Indiana's advantage. And I think all festively Indiana will be just fine without Romeo. Langford this backward. Devante green and outdoor playing the probably their most confidence that they've had all season long Indiana's less predictable offensively. They've got some guys that could shoot the basketball. And when all else fails still conduct the ball downloaded you mortgage which really in the second half. And that Saint Francis game was really what got Indiana that lead realizing mortgage, pretty good. Let's get him the ball inside. They still got that for Indiana. I think advantage goes to Indiana here without Daniel gathered in the ballgame Romeo Lankford still on the sidelines. I like Indiana on their home court with a bunch of guys right now, they're playing with a lot of confidence all pensively one of the critical factors in that. First batch up was Saint Francis is turnovers in Indiana. I think only had seven in that ball game. And that was really important today. It's even more important to take care of the ball. Because Arkansas so good at turning you over St Francis sat back and a two three zone. Most of the game some more oftentimes than not you're going to turn the ball over less. They were under sized playing more of a passive to three Indiana really didn't feel much pressure offense that Saint Francis didn't provide much pressure on the defensive end give me a different ball game here. Although Arkansas might mix up their defense is a different type athletes at Indiana. It's going to have to play. Against it. You're going to have to be ball strong. You're going to have to play fast. But most importantly make great decisions. And I'd be interested in this back for Tom compete. The first defender get inside the lane and then make the next past the DNA gets in a little bit of trouble when they get too deep into the lane. And they're they're forced enough. Contesting shots are getting blocked around the ram or turning the ball over gotta keep your eyes up and make that pass one step sooner than defense is expecting. You can get wide open looks against this Arkansas defense said aggressive defense. They want to turn your turn the ball over defensively going at the other end to freeze Indiana's backwards. Gotta be really great take care of the basketball. I couldn't agree with you more. That's about it. It's great news. It's about fifteen minutes to tip off brought to you by Geico. Fifteen minutes could save you fifty percents or more on car insurance. Visit Geico dot com to see how much you could say well, Eric as we look at these ball clubs, Arkansas beat Indiana. The first time seventy three to seventy two Indiana actually had a couple of chances. To win that contest with a couple of point blank. Looks at the rim right at the end of that ballgame couldn't pull it out. But I don't think that game. Well, I do I should say this in the sense of Indiana being able to win here today. They're going to have to play just as tough as they played in that contest. And then find a way to win it up by grade the effort in the second half in the first matchup was really good from Indiana, Daniel, gap, dominated the first half athletically all over the blocking shots back. Arkansas won't have that here today. Now, they gotta play Indiana in assembly hall, which is a different ballgame as well. I agree with you Indiana has got to play Justice hard as they did in that second half, just as tough. I think it's gotta be for forty minutes at Arkansas playing pretty well right now, here's one of the things that I think is going to be. So I think people don't realize. Indiana basketball, whether it's an IT or the NC double A, it's important and today proves it crowd standpoint because this crowd is dramatically good. I mean better than anything. I think a lot of people would have been granted the tickets were a little cheaper. It's festival seeing. So I to the Canebiere and stare out outside last night or day and were whole bunch of people standing out there when I got here at nine fifteen this morning. So when you look at it from that stay aboard this place is I'm not gonna say, it's a full house. But it's it's going to be in the neighborhood of what you would see maybe twelve thousand people. Yeah, I everything except the balcony right now has got some people in it. The balcony has some in a to over here to fill up. We've still got some time until tip. But I am really impressed with how good this crowd is Indiana basketball is a big deal in this state. Even in the NFC right now these fans wants to come out and see their team play, Indiana. If you think this doesn't matter right now, you're way wrong. It's the NIT. I know some folks are disappointed Indiana didn't make the NC double A tournament. But if this crowd tell you that this game matters eight most certainly matters. These players better understand that come out early in this game ready to play Arkansas is a different team than Saint says you've got to play great forty minutes to have a chance to win the coolest thing about it is it's families at it's a twenty dollar ticket and families came to that you can see so many little kids what their minds and their dads and people who don't normally get a chance to see Indiana basketball. That's what you're seeing here today. That's this the key, right? There isn't season ticket holders that are at this game. These are just people that are passionate and love Indiana basketball. You go out and ask ten people here in the crowds. Is this your first game? I bet at least half of them say. Yep. This is my first game. It's amazing. And it just tells you how important this game is in this program is to the state art. Our injury report brought to you by Indiana University health of the highest reforming our PD care. Just visit IU health dot org slash kgo hoosiers. And of course. In that vein Romeo Lankford out for the Cindy got a basketball team today. Once again with the back issue a race. Thompson may not play today because of the health issue he was dealing with up from by. We'll standpoint he was obviously not able to play in that ballgame. And Archie said he's probably not going to be available today. And then the other guy that's been dealing with injuries. Since the last game. Devante green has been playing really well of light people's dot able to practice until yesterday because of dealing with flu like symptoms. So it's gonna be interesting to see who does who was able to come out there and everything that they've got him this contest this afternoon..

"Jerry recco. Joe Boylan Paul Shrager with you assembly hall, and it has gone well on senior day for Indiana as they have stretched to a twenty two point lead with ten forty nine to go here in the second half. So what are your thoughts? It's your first visit to in the assembly hall. What do you think? Very nice. You like those walk up steps to the. I will say it's bigger than I thought it was on TV at it. Fair doesn't TV to me. It looks like a small gym arena. You walk in at the height and the depths of the blazer much bigger than it than it appears on television when you walk in. From one side you see those banners. Those national championship as five that makes. Brooke leader kissing the game for Rutgers. Let's just needs a spurt. Here's sits take out within nine fifty one forty nine seventeen four. Fifty one forty two case down low for Carter left lane guarded by Davis. Carter puts up almost put it in. He was fouled. He's got knocked to the ground. So shack Carter will go to the line is Davis picks up personal foul. That's his second. And so- shack Carter owes to the line. Sixty three percent of the season McDonald a lot of opportunities. You can imagine. Nobody will get to hear six team foul, Indiana eighteen or twenty six big ten. Got a nice looking stroke. First one is up in thanking check sixty eight forty seven. Carter's first point of the afternoon. Second free throw is good again to for to for shack. Carter sixty eight forty eight ten thirty five to play in the end of the ball at twenty point advantage. Venezia up the floor met by McConnell dribbles to his left back to the right? Get Jon Morgan a left side three. No good. And Davis, grabs the rebound. And then he's either foul though, steps on the sideline thought they were gonna call a foul. Peter kiss. So Rutgers gets it back. That's three possessions in their last four. They've taken ill advised threes. Indiana. I'm talking about. Coach Miller is red in the face about those last couple of shots. Also wanted a foul called on this. Good hustle by Peter officials said coach we called enough fouls. Why haven't they? Mcconnell nearside for Rutgers gets to the wing sort of top for Harper loves side. Omori beyond the arc calls for kids to come. Get the ball fakes the hand off ulcers dribble down low for shack corner. One on one with Dave is mortgage comes over ties about thousand. And you know, it's funny. Caused like this all well and good. But they weren't there. When the games a game. That's what I was gonna say. And at this point anybody, by the way in fairness Morgan did hit him in the forehead with his. So he will come out of the game picking up his fourth foul. But. At the end of the day. We fouls will look even. But boy when Indiana was making that run you couldn't breathe on them. Cry at time they doubled the quarter in the low post one in one opportunity for Carter any knocks dance. He's three for three from the line. And that was good foul. He did hit. No question about it. But the whistle blew before him. Actual. And. Big difference mortgage not playing much of this game. Like, he didn't play much of the first, no doubt. You see the impact? He had second free throw. Good to for to for shack Carter sixty eight fifty Rutgers now by eighteen nine fifty to play here in the second couple of stops Mortgaga the game here Davis at the left. Elbow guarded by Carter. And the ball off to finish tied up by McConnell goes for the steel now, they call a fallow McConnell. My goodness. There's just no flow at times. If you have a hard time listening this game is because the game has no flow. But just. Puts finish to the line shooting one and one. Still for Rutgers misses the foul shot high rebound, the flicked it into the hands of Carter. Here comes Peter kiss off the.

"Quarterback back to Simon Scott assembly hall, were Indiana will take the Iowa Hawkeyes here tonight the Hawkeyes coming into this ball game with a seventeen five record. They are six and five of the big tat all five of their losses of come in league play but all five of their ball games for the most part of that against all five of their losses. I should say that against the outstanding team so far in play thus far this season. Are scouting report is always is brought to you by Nissan and Iowa's head coaches. Fran mccaffery now this night's ball club. They had a rough go. But last year they were just fourteen in nineteen and finished four and fourteen tied for eleventh in copper, explain brand has brought the same ball club, essentially, with the exception of maybe one or two guys back from last year and turn things around. They had a really good start to their year. We had a chance to talk to Fred about his wall club and his thoughts on this ball game tonight earlier tonight. Here's our conversation. Brad your basketball team playing really good basketball and a great win over Michigan. We can't play much better than we played in that game fish, you know, start to finish. We we've been really good most games, but we've had some periods in those games where we're not so good. That was by far most consistent effort at both ends. You're really getting some good play out of your veterans, Luca Garza. I know he's just a south more. But it feels like he's been there longer already does. Yeah. He's he's really stepped his game up. I mean, he he was the MVP of the two K classic. And you're really playing as well as we had hoped coming off surgery over the summer. But then he sprained his ankle. He was out miss three games. Played just a few minutes in the next couple of games. Now that he's healthy. Again. He's putting up about twenty points a game. And you put that together with Tyler cook. It's a tough to obviously, that's a big key for your ball club. Both online players, aren't they? That. And the emergence of Ryan cleaners do be able to rotate to three of them because cook was out for two games to road victories, northwestern and Penn State and create a really stepped up with both of those games. You're getting such good offense you play from his shooting standpoint from outside. I mean, just about everybody in your teeth knocked down to three. You know, and that's how we put the team together. And you always hope that that's the case. You know, I thought we had a great three point shooting team last year. And it wasn't the case. You know, we were pretty good. But not what what I thought we'd be Joey's camps big boost their bullheaded. Of course, you expect that he led the big ten in threes last year, but it's the other guys. Isaiah moss has really stepped up the bay. She daily nNcholas bears really having a spectacular. Fifth year. And that's made a big difference about your defensive play. You're looking like, you're playing a lot more different types of is in ballgames. We're we're gonna mix it. You know, we're going to place a man places own press a little bit change zones. Trying to keep the other table balance? And is so far this year. It's been effective talk a little bit about your impressions of Indiana. I really liked their team. You know, it's been a strange year for them. They were so good starting the season twelve into. But then you have a couple of guys out. You know, next thing, you know, you're you're losing close games. And you were winning close games as sometimes is the difference. Get their people back. Go on the road. And it'd be Michigan state was as you know, is really hard to do up there. I thought I thought their defense in that game as well. As our office was difference. She in this ball game for Iowa. Both teams want abroad. So you want to try to win the battle of transition. And you got to be able to defend that they've got some serious weapons, you know, with with Romeo and Morgan Davis agreed or back. I think some of the other guys are playing real Smith. I mean, they've got some pieces that are really playing. Well, that'll be able to contain the dribble. They're so good off the dribble. They've got speed. And quickness was going to be able to keep in front one. Final thought big ten this year. Unbelievably tough, no matter who you play. Do. I said that media data by far this is my ninth year that the best it's been top to bottom. But I think we're seeing that. And that is Fran McCaffrey has retired to them about this match up with Indiana tonight brand again and his ninth season with the club. He's had some really good years with the hawk is. And this is another one of those the seasons are scouting report is always is brought to you by Nissan court. It's the job of the defense to protect the rim on the.

"Back to the Simon Scott assembly hall for the final time tonight vicinity at a basketball team struggles and finds itself losing its third straight ballgame. They fall brass sixty six fifty one here tonight. Let's face facts here. The brassy is a really good basketball team. And we knew it was going to be a tasha coming into this time test tonight. We're just thinking then think the hoosiers get down to the first half again. And one of those situations where they just continue to struggle when they heavy slow starts. Now. It's becoming a major problem. I agree Nebraska is a good team. I think that plus the combination Indiana did not play their best basketball. Either end of the core we equates to a fifteen point loss. Right. So this is one that you'd expect Indiana to win you know, I coming in. I would have guessed Indiana won this game. But you gotta give credit to Nebraska. They've got experience that got some good players. They executed their game plan flawlessly tonight and got a very good victory on the road and the big ten. It's a tough place to play and win here. An assembly hall. Nebraska did a heck of a job here tonight crushed, and you got to give them a lot of credit and the biggest problem tonight. Archie kind of summarized at best lack of energy, not really looked like they were tired lethargic basketball team for you can't play that way, especially at home at especially against somebody this quality towers first couple offensive possessions. I made the comment that Indiana looks like their jogging rather than sprinting screens aren't nearly as cuts weren't as Chris the passes weren't as Chris I was evident from the from the Geico just as coach Archie Miller said this team was just a little bit less than what we're used to seeing. Both ends of the court. They didn't have their a game. Little maybe tired. I don't know what it is. But very evident from.

"Don Fisher from branch McCracken quarterback. Assignments got assembly hall on the campus in Bloomington. This is Indiana, University basketball this evening. The hoosiers will attempt to break a two game losing skid in big ten play. As they walk them. The corn huskers of Nebraska university. Everybody. This is Don Fisher law with Eric sewer and Joe Smith windy, Anna ended a frustrating pension for starting game slowly on Friday night. They roared do a fourteen point lead on the road at Maryland. But the final minutes of the first half Terrapins spot back to cut the hoosiers, usually eight ten a blister with a sixteen to two second-half start. The gave the turps a lead. They would never relinquish Wooding. Seventy eight to seventy five feet dropped Indiana's record at twelve and four diminish their league bark to three and two one night. Earlier the Brassica was ending its own two game losing streak with a seventy to sixty four home victory over scrappy Penn State and Lincoln the Cornhuskers under Sabatier headband, Tim miles, duplicated. I use eleven to pre-january record. But split the early December big ten games that have their copper lead. You're at two and three the huskers have a veteran squad with good athleticism type club and size, and they're comparable to Indiana in that athletic and size. We'll Eric sewer. We knew this first full month of league play for the hoosiers would be a challenge which it's proving to be after a pair of top road losses. And while it's still quite early in this big ten season. I think those road defeats add some pressure to winning these games on once whole bore. Would you agree? I would agree for the team each and every game, right? You lose one on the road. You feel a little bit more pressure at home. I think for fans nervous might be the word, right? Indiana has played well at times, especially on the road, Don, but not been able to come away with the Victor anthem first half against Maryland was the best first-half aside for maybe the Marquette game that Indiana has played up to this point the second half, which is completely different story. And I think it's going to be the team in the big ten that wins the close games on the road is ultimately going to be the big ten champion. Now, Michigan's got a nice comfortable lead here. But still to your point so early in the big ten season anything can happen every single game from this point moves moving forward. Counts for these teams. So yeah. A little added pressure for Indiana coming back home against a good Nebraska team after a disappointing loss at Maryland. Interestingly.

"Don, Fisher, branch were crafted, Gordon assignment Scott assembly hall on the campus in Bloomington, Indiana, University basketball this evening, the twenty second right? Hoosiers hope bad to their five game win. Against the last of this regular seasons. Non-conference upon it's the dolphins of Jacksonville university. Hello, everybody. This is Eric Zora. Joe smith. Indiana finally allowed its fan base. The stop chewing her nails to the very end of a ball game on Wednesday or the hoosiers decisive victory over central Arkansas eighty six fifty three degrees basketball of the year that included nineteen points with six three point field goals. Spearheaded the triumph along with Royal language. Double double of eighteen points and eleven rebounds. Pushed I use record to Jacksonville wasn't as fortunate this week travelling to south bend on Thursday and falling to the fighting Irish one hundred seventy four the dolphins. However ran into a buzzsaw for behind the art with Notre Dame canning eighteen three point field goals in that ballgame led by former VFW coach, Tony Jazic. Jacksonville is seven six on the year and have one seven hundred last nine matchups. Well, Eric sorta spite another slow start the hoosiers saw a lot of positives from Wendy's. Wednesdays win but experienced another negative with freshman guard rob ac- leaving in the first half with a concussion that will keep him from tonight. Devante greens going to have to step up tonight without rob fantasy and the game who's really been the rock offensively for this team. "Simon Scott assembly hall on the campus in Bloomington. This is Indiana University basketball this afternoon the Hoosier step back into non-catholics players. They welcome the new era cardinals of the university of Louisville. Hello, everybody. I'm dot Fisher law with Eric Zora Joseph blend. Deanna wrapped up the early two games. Swing and the big ten play on Tuesday with a sixty four to sixty two victory over Penn State and in the process picked up their first true love win and open league action with a two and zero record. Freshman Rubio Lang credit, rob Tennessee, played major roles in the triumph as the hoosiers. Plus their overall record to seven two meantime, Louisville under first year head coach Chris Mack. Put a weapon on central Arkansas and Wednesday night, eighty six to forty one the elevator. The cardinals record the six to who Xavier too much success in nine years at the Cincinnati school has one full time starter vibe other Letterman who saw plenty of action last season and four transfers rounding out of ten man rotation that has knocked off Michigan state by four and overtime. Beaton Seton Hall on the road, then given both Tennessee and Marquette all they could handle in their two losses. Well, Eric store was one four their last five games with the decisive defeat at the hands of third rank Duke Durham, the lone blemish. But none of those wins have come easy to a team, but a seemingly still searching for their identity. Why would agree with you there? I think as a fan. You come away with some of the winds from Indiana. You feel like the hoosiers could have played better. Now, the good thing is Indiana at times hasn't played well but still gotten away with the victory, which is which is the good news. If you're an Indiana fan can't get away with not playing well today, though, Louisville's a really good team. That's got a bunch of talent. They've got really good size and with new head coach Chris Mack. They're very well coached. And India has got to play their best games day. No question about that. It's a ball club. That is long. They are they are very athletic, and they're playing a completely different style than what Louisville teams of the past play brand new coaching staff, you're going to get a new philosophy. But the one thing he just standing here watching these two teams warm up you just commented before we got going. There are long and that is something you can always expect from Louisville team. I have no doubt. This will be a very well coached team. They will come out prepared to try to play their best game against Indiana. And the hoosiers have got to be ready at both ends of the core. I think in the end has gotta shoot the ball. Really? Well today to have a chance to win Louisville's a very good defensive team hoosiers have gotta make shots when it counts especially late in the ball game. We have a talk much about this. But there's no question of Indiana's. Biggest issues is getting into early foul. Trouble of light. And specially in the frontcourt. Jon Morgan throughout.

"Don, Fisher branch, McCracken quarter of assignments Scott assembly hall of the campus in this is Indiana University basketball tonight, the hoosiers hoped to bounce back from their first loss of the season as they welcome the map. Of the university of Texas Arlington in the third game of a hardwoods. Showcase tournament. Hello, everybody. I'm Fisher along with Eric storage ocean about Indiana, one of the road for the first time this past Sunday and struggled with the pressure defense applied by Arkansas, the lead that eighteen turnovers and a seventy three to seventy two loss to the Razorbacks big ten freshman of the week Romeo. Langford put together a double double of twenty two points and ten rebounds. And Jon Morgan added fifteen points on the second half. But it wasn't enough with the record dropping to three and one on this young year. Meantime, UT Arlington was taking care of business. The same night with a sixty eight to fifty nine triumph over California. Davis in another of these hardboard showcase matchups. The Mavericks under first year. Coach Chris Ogden are also three and one of the infants season and they've accomplished that Mark despite having likely the most undersized roster. The hoosiers will see the season but more on that in a couple of minutes. Eric sore tires. I wrote tested was a Steph wanted Fayette built and with all due respect to Arkansas. I really thought the hoosiers. Failings return over his lack of poison times where the real reasons for Sunday's loss. Well, I couldn't agree more. I think Indiana's backcourt really struggled the first time all season long K face, some big time, athletes and some big time pressure in the back court and to your point down eighteen turnovers is way too many you want to go on the road and being a good SEC team in Arkansas way too many turnovers for Indiana's back for at times. I thought Indiana played well, but you can't have more turnovers than you, do assists and expect to win big time basketball. And when you think about it one of the biggest issues was Jon Morgan picking up to fouls in the first three minutes and sitting for the rest of the first half that foot, Indiana and a whole right there. Yeah. Gaffer at six foot eleven for Arkansas really nice first half got comfortable in the game. And I think a large part of that due to the fact that John was on the bench for seventeen of the twenty minutes in the first half. And you know, when you're a big time player, you get comfortable things. Start to kind of snowball you start to play with Lucy start play with more confidence. Gaffer really picked up where he left off in the first half had a great second half as well. Indiana's front court. I thought in the second half did a nice job Duan playing for fifteen points in the second half. But by that time it was too late, Arkansas. They were scoring inside the pain. They were hitting some threes. And really it was just back and forth game after that in Indiana really needed to control the tempo that game. I think Arkansas control the tempo dictated the pace of the game for Indiana. That's not a recipe for success. Well, they're going to face an our Texas Arlington team that is not big basically their last starting five against Cal or against. Yeah. Cal Davis was six or five nine five eleven six two six two six three. That's that's really small, but they make up for with how hard they play play really hard. They switch a lot on defense they compete. That's the one thing you could say about this maverick basketball team won that traps for Indiana. Don, I think you can get trapped a little bit when you're playing a smaller team that plays really hard and pressures you start shooting threes or to forget about the post. Just try to drive to the basket guys that are smaller and quicker to a nice job keeping the ball in front for Indiana. I think it's going to be important tonight. Keep your eyes up on the rim. Find your teammates down on a low block. Sometimes it's important to slow down the play fast. But when you got the size advantage slow down look at the post hit the post, then you can play fast off the post for Indiana tonight. I expect to see a heavy dose of Jon Morgan. Whoever else is down the front court. Going to be the Anna looks down low takes advantage of this size advantage that they have work inside and out slow down. Sometimes that's going to be just as important Indian Awasa play pass. But sometimes to be successful. You gotta play slow. You might of heard the hint, and Eric voice about another issue from a.

"Both snowing in Bloomington as I talk to walk out to my car. So I guess I'm not doing as well as I thought. Well, that's all right. No problem tonight. So rather than talk specifically about mountain state. They've got two games under the Bill. Tell me what we see after two games. I like the way this team. Distributes the ball and the way they share the ball. The thing. I think that is really. As much as anything. They had twenty two assists. Thirty two baskets tonight. Seems like they're they're really unselfish are similar wasn't happy with the defense. In the opener against Chicago state and. You know, how coaches are looking for on your team wins by forty nine. But but but but I get that. And then I mean tonight. I mean, the Montana state coach Bryan fish afterwards that money. Yeah. You know that they really had a tough shooting. I wish they did. He said it's shooting team. I'm not sure if it is or not, but. Tonight toured nineteen points in the first half and sixteen the second half of the six twenty eight. So it was that great defense is bad shooting. You never know. But. I'll say this. And that's. It was the second fewest points scored by an opponent in assembly hall in the history of the building. And the fewest points was the first game ever played in the building. And that was in nineteen seventy one when Indiana beat Notre Dame ninety four to twenty nine. So this is a thirty five point. There's only been one other game. We're scored less than thirty nine. So. Yeah. I think it's also a team that's a deep you mentioned about the fact that they.

Date set for 2018 Hoosier Hysteria

"It's August. So expect the I you basketball news to slow down a bit. Now with summer workouts and the July recruiting period over though it won't be long before the activity ratchets up. Again, what with Hoosier hysteria now just eight weeks away on September twenty ninth on that night at Simon Scott assembly hall, we will see the official. I debuts of heralded freshman Romeo Langford, Jerome hunter, rubber finish Dmitri Anderson, and Jake Forster less than a year ago at last year's Hoosier hysteria event, Langford, hunter, finicky and Anderson received raucous receptions from the assembly hall, faithful win in a brilliant little strategic touch by Archie Miller and his staff. The players were escorted across McCracken court to their seats behind the bench. Each player got to experience what it's like to feel the low from Hoosier nation this year. Another handful of highly regarded Hoosier recruits will get to experience the same thing. Time will tell if the McCracken court escort becomes a recurring Hoosier hysteria event. But regardless Indiana fans will undoubtedly find a way to let prospects like trace Jackson Davis, kion Brooks, and others know just how much they are wanted in Bloomington and speaking of Jackson Davis. He made the biggest news over the weekend when he tweeted out his final six schools and then laid out his visit plans in discussions with several recruiting reporters as expected. Indiana was on the list along with big ten foes Purdue Michigan state. And I awoke plus Wake Forest and UCLA Jackson Davis plans to visit all six schools telling core Evans of rivals that he will make official visits to UCLA Iowa Wake Forest, Indiana and Michigan state with Purdue receiving an unofficial visit thereafter. It is widely assumed that Indiana is the clear front runner in this recruitment, but clearly, Jackson Davis wants to at least explore his options and lean all the way into the recruiting process as well. He should. Jackson Davis has a five star talent from the state of Indiana and Archer. Miller and his staff have made him a clear priority for the class of twenty nineteen. He knows he can commit Indiana when he's ready. So why not experience some other campuses to be certain while all Indiana fans would love to have Jackson Davis's commitment in the fold included so that he can anchor the much anticipated class of twenty nineteen and possibly attract other top players. The center grove, big man with the NBA bloodlines only gets to have this experience and make this decision. Once he shouldn't does the process as much as he desires and do whatever he thinks he needs to do to be certain. He's making the right call. We'll all just continue waiting patiently hoping that he decides Bloomington is the place for him to be because in state players like trace Jackson Davis are the kinds of players around which banner worthy teams are built.
