I think it's really awesome, but when you are in a place like assembly hall and all the other schools too, I just love to see the foundation. That the game has been grown on. And this is really fun for me as a basketball person. Just to kind of absorb all of that history of the moment. And, you know, when the jump ball goes, it's like, I don't know, it was packed in there. It was like 13,000. I was a record, right? 13,000 plus, and I think it was like 325,000 people viewed the game on Big Ten network. So, you know, a lot of records being broken for our game. Excuse me, and we were talking about South Carolina and LSU game having 18,000. I mean, there's a platform for where we are in our game, but to be in those historic arenas. I mean, there's nothing like the goosebumps that come of that. And Iowa on Sunday, Debbie and tonelli was there. Just like the rest of my whole mind of I was sitting there and going over a graphics and then she popped up in front of the table. I was like, what is happening? So shout out to Debbie antonelli. It was so good to see her, you know? I'm pretty sure Debbie's just like going around the Midwest the basketball games 'cause like Calvin Calvin wetzel saw her at Illinois state. She's been at like a million games right now and she's an empty nest for now so she's like. Somehow Debbie is doing more work. I know. Yeah, but I love that. She has three boys and yeah, empty nester, but, you know, she's, you know, she's a dream merchant too, right? Just like Don Stanley is, but I just think, you know, she's just showing how to do it, right? Huge mentor for me. So that was like fun, but just how basketball is all interconnected. To me, it's a beautiful thing. So yeah, simply all we got to get you there because it's fun stuff. I'm done. Yeah, that's good. That's what I'm a bucket list for a very long time. None, look, I think that all of these stadiums, really, everywhere I want to go to South Carolina. I want to go everywhere. So anybody that would like to take please let me know. So I'm gonna read the first, the top four teams, not surprising. South Carolina, in the air yeah, Stanford. Or he talked about those three. And Yukon. Did you see you may have seen this? Do you know the last time you can't lost two straight games like they did? Against South Carolina and marquette. I heard it was 93. 90 three. You know, you know what else? You know what else was created in 1993? Your boy. Oh. Look at that. I was not alive the last time Yukon lost multiple games. And I currently have a mortgage and a wife and a dollar. So. Great job. Great job, Gino. That's right. Yeah. So those are the top four seeds. And then I like the idea of talking a little bit about the seating because right now in the Greenville region one because there's two, the regionals are gonna be locations instead of four. We have South Carolina, Maryland, Ohio State, and that may be like my favorite of these groups because duke and Maryland first off. ACC ACC schools, great rivalry. We have to have JJ Redick reading poetry around there. Like he did back in the day. He did. And then we have Marilyn Ohio State, South Carolina, Maryland, all those teams have excellent histories there. And I think duke has been playing really good basketball. Just beat my Miami hurricanes. So that would be an awesome region. I think that's my favorite of any of these. Okay. And then you know there's just some interesting teams that thought Michigan is a three seed, and that would make an account up I want to make sure I get this right. One, two. So the Big Ten has Indiana, Iowa. It's two Maryland three. Michigan four Ohio State 5. 5 of the top 16 teams from the big. That's insane. First of all, I mean, night and night out, you'd better be ready to compete. Are you gonna get your face handed to you? You know, for Michigan, Leah Brown is playing incredible basketball for them. Especially as of late. I mean, you know, you're talking about a UConn team who, you know, has been battle tested with injuries and, oh my gosh, you know, Gino was off the bench for a stretch of games. They just had so much roller coaster esque dealings this season, but somehow they're managing to win. It's just been, I don't know, for the Big Ten circling back to that. I mean, to have four teams in the top ten for the first time ever. Has been pretty amazing to

I wouldn't have polling piece of legislation and if I was campaigning for mayor, which I'm not obviously. But if I was, you know what my slogan would be? I reckon it would be a vote winner. All you need to say is I love cars and as mayor, I'm gonna make sure I'm enabling the average New Zealander to get around as efficiently and as quickly as possible. I feel like and he was like, no, I really believe he was coming. I really think he did. Wow. Wow. But I just, you know, I've seen a lot of Indiana where I've heard some of the stuff that gets said in the crowd as a player. And I've been there as a broadcaster where random 75 year old fan comes up to me and asked me to take my headset off so we can tell me that it's a disgrace that I'm calling the game on the floor. Point to the top and says they should make you call the game from up there. Like I've seen that, but that's what makes it rivalry. That's why if he came up to me and was like, welcome to assembly hall. We're happy to have you here. I mean, you don't want that. No, you don't. So I think Indiana's fan base is got to be up there. Illinois, if not tied right behind him. Those would be Louisville, I think, at times can be pretty crazy. And she state was really bad. They've been bad to me. Over the years. I usually feel it out on Twitter like Twitter's the way I can kind of tell. And that's not fair necessarily because you've got a younger audience, obviously on Twitter. But those density states bands. You know, obviously, yes. You know me, sometimes I'll kind of needle certain fan bases when I know. Yeah, right. You're freaking taking needling is not the worst. "So now I'm gonna make some shots and you start out zero for 7 for three. Isn't it gonna get in his head now going forward? I think honestly, Kofi coming back is the only thing that maybe keeps that from happening immediately. But, yeah, it's hard. When you're older than the season and you're like, dude, I was supposed to be better at this this year. There's some doubt can certainly creep in. But airball, I mean, that air ball and crunch time. Yeah, but it's a horrible shot. I mean, it's not his game. Give it to Trey Frazier. If you want somebody to shoot that shot, that's trying to Fraser shot. No doubt. Because at least he's got the size and he's made shots from deep. Like, go down with Trent Frazier shooting that last, you know, those live shots, not you also have to wonder about Frazier how healthy, is he? Yeah. He's wearing that big sleeve on his right shoulder. And he played in certainly made shots and I've always 7 or 15, 23 points. Yeah. Yeah, he was fine. He was fine, but again, the end of the game, you've got a bunch of veterans and a point guard who's supposed to be a guy who can control the game. And it was just poor decision after poor decision and we'll see. Listen, maybe we did overrate this team a little bit. Now, when you I'm not willing to go there yet. I think Kofi is an enormous loss because at the end of the game, you can always throw in the ball. Now, our team's gonna double him and is he gonna call it that's fine. If they double him, you pick your poison, then I wouldn't say I'm curious to see how he is as a passer this year. At times last year when that went in, it was not coming out. We'll see this year. That's TBD, but at least he makes you change your entire game plan. It's a totally different animal with Kofi cover not there. So I'm not willing to say that we've overrated them yet. But this is a game they should have totally won. There's really no excuse to lose to marquette like this. So I just got back last night from a really good trip. Really, I'm glad I did it. West Coast swing started with UCLA Villanova at Polly and so I was at the garden a week ago now. Wow. It's been a week at the garden and the garden was rocking. It was great to see, you know, obviously champions classic is terrific, through Kentucky, Michigan state Kansas, four great programs, really good crowd. But you know what? The crowd is nothing compared to an on campus environment. Like poly pavilion, like the candle in Spokane, which I went two days later. It's just different. And I want to start with that with you. And you play to Purdue. You played in a lot of really good road environments as well, assembly hall, breslin center, a lot of them. You know, give me like the best neutral site environment you played in compared to a mediocre home environment. I'll take a mediocre home environment any day of the week. Totally. I.

"But to me, if you look at the dukes, if you look at the Kentucky's, if you look at the Michigan state and I would add Indiana in there, adding the fans back to assembly hall changes the name of the game for their team. I don't know what it would have been like to go to Cameron into her and play with nobody in there. I mean, if you got a chance to play Cameron and no one was in there, I mean, what a difference that's going to make. And it's the same thing within. Coach Woodson is going to come in. There's going to be a lot of energy and those fans when they get back in there, that's going to be a hard place to go into this year. A lot different ball game when you play Indian at home. And for those wondering, Archie did pick Indiana 5th. In the preseason. You know, I think that there's some unanswered questions probably a little bit. They got to get that, but they got as much depth across the board as anybody. And to me, if Indiana was going to crack the top two or three complete to the Big Ten, they're going to get great productivity from their back and it's going to add to the great productivity that they're already going to get from trace. All league teams are handed over to you because you're all league team looks like nothing we've ever seen before. I mean, I tried. I really did try to add somebody that was under 6 foot 9. Nobody handled the ball arch. Can you play a first team all Senate all big? I mean, how does that team work? Maybe if you did it by position, it would be a little bit more normal. But you're not going to find a Lake that has 5 guys that maybe are first or second team all Americans that are all front court players. I mean, Kofi. Trace Jackson Davis, hunter Dickinson, EJ Liddell, and then my 5th guy. His trade beyond William is trading on. I'm not sure that you're going to find 5 more dominant players in the league that don't shoot really passed a foot from the basket. Give me J some credit. Well I'm a good EJ, I'm gonna give DJ something because I picked a House state to win the league. I like what they're doing and I like what they have. I think that he potentially could be the player of the year in the league if they win it. But to me, I mean, you could take your pick of player of the year. It's going to come down to the team that probably wins the league out of those four or 5 guys..

"Broadcast center. This is Hoosier pregame hears the voice of the Hoosiers. Don Fisher. From branch were cracking court and the Simon's got Assembly hall on the campus in Bloomington. This is Indiana University basketball tonight. Well, Hoosiers attempt to bounce back into the win column after a long layoff from game action as they welcome the 12th ranked fighting Align Eye of the University of Illinois. Hello again, everybody. This is Don Fisher along with Eric Sore and Joe Smith. Well. Indiana hasn't played a game since a week ago this past Sunday after having this past Saturday's game with Michigan postponed because of the co big paws on the Wolverines campus in Ann Arbor, along with an earlier postponement of the Michigan State game for the same reason I use played just two games since January. The 14th that included a huge win over Iowa and in disappointing home loss to Rutgers. Defeat to the Scarlet Knights was the third this season here in the Assembly hall, a trend that hopefully ends this evening. Meantime, Illinois is 16 of their last eight games, including a triumph over Iowa in their last outing on Friday night, They moved that passed the Hawkeyes in the Big 10 standings and doing so to second place in the league behind Michigan with the seven and three conference mark on their 11 and five overall. And that, of course, includes a win over these Hoosiers five weeks ago in Champagne 69 to 60. Well, there is sure that first matchup between these two was a very competitive battle, but saw Iota sumo take over the game down the stretch, and that decided the outcome while he was the best player on the court, the entire ball game against Indiana and Franklin Don last game against Iowa, Ohio to Suma was the best player on the court. I I'd say any game that Illinois plays. He has a great chance of being the best player on the court and for Indiana here tonight, you've got to find some way to stop or limit Iota Sumo's production at the offensive end. He is just a prime time player. He's the best in the business really good out in the back for free. Illinois Indian has gotta have answers tonight for Iota Sumer. And Of course, they've got a big man named Kofi Coburn at 7. Ft. £285 You just East inside and on top of his rebounding a year ago. He is now at its scoring toe to the punch, and he's now averaging 18.6 points a game. A big 10 play 17 a game for the season double double for the season, and not only the offensive production with Kofi Coburn don, but how big and strong he is. Inside the page, Trace Jackson Davis at times struggles to finish over much bigger defenders. Take, for example, Indiana's last game against Miles jobs. Miles Johnson, Rutgers. Indiana really struggled, scoring inside the pain. That cannot be the case here tonight for the Hoosiers. I mean, you've got to be able to finish through contact underneath the rim that will be a test here for trace. Jackson Davis can Indian and not only get Jackson Davis the ball, don, but once he goes one on one against Kofi Coburn can trace for over the bigger body. It's gonna be so important. This Indian offense tonight. Here's the other aspect of the big guys inside, too. Raised tops and is gonna have to take a more active role of scoring the basketball when traces having problems with the big guy like that, if that's who's guarding him. Yeah, Indiana's got to have the two bigs working together. Whether it's high, low action or double team comes races. Gotta find that soft spot for the defense and Jackson Davis got to be a better pass through the basketball. There's many times where there's open, either pick out for three or dump downs to race. But that has just not yet developed really offensively for Jackson Davis that ability to pass out of double team I said just a few weeks ago, Traces got to be really good out of double teams. Because Big ten's they're gonna pick 10 teams are really gonna focus the defensive game plan on Indiana's big man. If he can't pass out of the double team, I think in the animal continue to struggle offensively. Well, here's the thing, too. From Indiana's perspective, they have struggled defensively of late. It's not men all the time because against my will. They were spectacular from a defense perspective, and they've been good at other times throughout the season. In fact, that was their staple for up until Big 10 play actually started, but it's been a little bit inconsistent since then, and there, but a couple of games that they just haven't played very well it all of the defensive, well, potential inability. Indiana has that defensively. We've seen Indiana place some really good defense. Great teams, though, don turned potential ability into an identity and something that you can really hang your hat on and identity. And consistency is not out Every other game type of a thing and great teams in this league, hang their hat on something they have some sort of identity can always lean on it for Indiana Way thought it would be defense this season. Indiana has struggled at times defensively on because of that they're now four and five and league play. I think India has got to get back to that. Grind it out Toughest nails type half court defense If Indiana could do that limit teams offensive production. I think Indiana can win any type of basketball game, but you're right on that defense. Of identity, so to speak, has not been nearly consistent enough. Here's the irony, Indiana We've complained about them being a very good I have not being a very good outside shooting team this entire season, but the last five games and we're including the Purdue game, which they went three from 8 4/18. They're shooting 40% from three point land, which is just astonishing. So they've started find other people other than just drop Tennessee or Al Durham or our mind, Franklin. Those three guys have been added to. With Jerome Hunter now knocking down some threes. Christian Lander hit a couple of the last ball game, and Anthony Leo, of course, has been a threat. Every time he's been on the floor. You know his team can do it, Donna. That's one thing that some folks who really frustrated in Indiana has shown the ability to play great defense. They've shown the ability to score inside. They've now shown the ability to knock down threes. Consistently the last couple weeks. The question is, can Indiana put it all together? And I think if that day comes, Indiana puts it all together, especially in this league. I think in the end I could compete with anybody Have this team has been really good at times this season, but to win in this league, it's gotta be in all the time type of thing at both ends of the court, and that's gonna be the challenge for this basketball team moving forward in Indiana..

Yeah, it's just And I don't know about you guys, but I just woke up Sunday morning and I'm like, man. Um, I think rockers is actually a lot to win today. Like I I just I just had the feeling of like IU does not string Games together, and this is a Rutgers team that hasn't won in the month of January. And I you shot the bull. What 60% from three like that should be an automatic win at home every single time. It's not like Rutgers got to the foul line a whole bunch more. Then you either, But, um, you know, people ask me if you have asked me today. Boy we know is Jekyll and Hyde and up and down. No, no, no. This is just who I You is right now in your four of the Archie Miller era, and that's an extremely inconsistent Normally below average, Big 10 team went out like people ask, What's the identity? What's identity? That's what the identity is. It's been a boon of below average big time basketball team in year four of the tenure. Baby. How's it that per duo and matte painter? Find a way to get better as the year goes on every single year, but yet replace you know Archie Miller with Tom Creen or whatnot. The Hoosier teams don't ever seem to do that. Yes, it's a great question. Hammer. I would say couple of things. I think Matt Painter is a great job assembling a puzzle because building your roster and knowing when the pieces needed plug in and when they're ready to be plugged in. It is a puzzle. If you look at two of their starters this year, they're both red shirt. Freshman, you know, red shirt to me. You don't hear that a whole lot.
