"I don't know if if this was maybe last season and he came in dumped him like that fine. But I don't think anyone and is saying that about the the rams offense since the Super Bowl in fact the question has been. What's wrong with the rams? What's wrong with Sean mcvay? Why can't he just girls so I don't here though? I don't think the momentum heading to this game was about Sean mcvay offensive genius anymore. This guy's first time. I got a chance to see you. I remember last year. This I got a chance to see. I wrote it down. Boy Wait till I get a loading. But he's already down on the MED. How you GONNA win? When he's already bloodied meeting? But I'M GONNA kick you even harder. I WANNA I WANNA. I want to come up with metallic man. I'm just telling you this is something that I think. That Sean McVeigh has to address because just watching it from the stands watching the TV. It feels like we all kind of have an idea. What's coming next? Here's Ryan Clark. Talking about the rams and their predictability we watch this team do the things that we could predict. They just did them better than everyone else wants to. Blueprint was put out your last year Chicago Philadelphia the New England Patriots now teams are playing them that way and making jared Goff beat them with a straight drop back. That's not the way he wins. Games songs going to have to change some things but they have to find protection and running lanes tied girl. I WANNA I wanNA do this again. I wanted to just play the very beginning of this because I think this is interesting. Listen to the very beginning of this. Where says we knew what was coming but they did it better than everyone else? We Watch this team do things that we could predict. They just did them better than everyone else wants to bookcase so they just did them better than everyone else. They're still running the same stuff. There's still lining up the same formations. They're still oh calling the same place. It's just not working anymore. So is it scheme. That's not working or is it execution. That's lacking because to hear Ryan Clark's. Look they were doing this before four. They just did it better than everyone else. And no one could stop it. Execution or schemes scheme equals execution. You dial up the place. Somebody's open all the time. The problem is it okay. The problem is that when that scheme is is this in we're executed we're hitting on all cylinders. The moment that somebody finds has it out. What do we need to adjust? Maybe instead of robber woods running the corner out in the same formation he runs the corner out this time instead of running to the corner he pulls up Bam. Now that corner runs to the corner. But there's a gaping cavity this right there for golf drilling. That's making an adjustment instead. Head of Cooper Cup running a two routes a out in Ian how fake any out in bending inside on a on a on a puff route or a seem route. How instead of Cooper Cup on third down running an option route how bout he faked like he's GonNa run the option and go up the rail because now the safety and cover four squats because he sees getting ready to break down and now he goes blind? That makes an adjustment. How Stella Line these things happen? How about instead of lining up up at three by one the outside guy on the numbers the inside guy in the middle of the other guy closest to the tackle instead of throwing the ball to the inside guy on the screen? How about fake it into the inside? I making everybody jump in. Have somebody go deep. Vixen things up in the last forty five seconds you were telling you just gave six half dozen different options. What I mean it there you go? Why why we're not seeing those options? He's talking about. Jared Goff needs little time in order for it to develop the offensive line has been the story all season long. The first two season same guys starting game in and game out continuity their protection obviously holds for topic photography run through this season's been patchworks basis since day one and Fathers Times Nipping on the heels of our left tackle. So I mean it's it starts to me. It starts with that though. I do want to say that we Calvin we had on. They talked about the fact that people around the League feel as if the rams are soft. He didn't say soft but he is. You've essentially said they feel as if they were assaultive Lanez last night sitting there they got smashed. They got smashed. Smashed is is just a finance system. That's all it's not that they're saw offensively from your from an offensive standpoint. The the system doesn't allow them to to be found in ground. What you saw with the Baltimore? Ravens is soccer upbeat them up pushing down step on them intimidate them. That's their style of play. The Rams is more of a finesse. SORTA football team defensively. They just got pushed around. That's all it wasn't it. They're tough on defense. I'm not I'm not necessarily worried about their defense away that I am about their office. I think their defense is just north. Pole something they ran up on something when you run up on something like that. It changes the whole landscape of the National Football League. That's why a lot of guys in college football with that style. That just made a lot of money last night. All right. We'll get into that coming up. The Rams had a bad night last night at the Coliseum. The Lakers had a good night in Texas on James Number. That'll jump out at you. We'll tell you what it is next. I Love Dogs. I love dogs not the way that we talk about the way. It's not even just chef boy are key for the Teddy's over over there. Yeah my my my dogs eat will be better than a lot of people that I know. It's the same thing so we're talking about is is the the course of the meal for the week for the dogs is. I went to farmer's market on Saturday and we got a a fillet of halibut chopped. Right there that sounds Vegan knows for the dogs steam to Halloween for the week. You put in refrigerator freezer I want this all may and we got Sweet potatoes which is organically grown. Obviously because you don't want steamed halibut organic sweet potatoes. Yes yes. We'll rice with brown rice. Talking about the Lakers. This is GonNa make me insane. Even I'm sure dog food. There's a giant bag on the bottom shelf advance. You can buy like eighty pounds for six bucks garage smelly garage get hats and all all it other stuff all right so you eat some. You can skip a step because they do have freeze dried salmon patties. I give Casper stop mean to one. Oh four the Lakers beat the Spurs. Last night they improved to fifteen in two and Lebron has been absolutely fantastic and he says well he feels great. It's weird I.

"Hello words welcome to this episode of the dictionary. If I have done my math right and if I can read my handwriting bright cheese what does that say I think today is November Twentieth Yes I think that is correct. The first word of this episode is assault A. S. S. A. U. L.. T. If I haven't said it before I'm going to say my joke right now. There were two peanuts walking down the street and one of them was was assaulted. This is the first form of the word assault. It is a noun from the fourteenth century. One a violent physical or verbal attack back one be a military attack usually involving direct combat with enemy forces. One see a concerted effort part as to reach a goal or defeat an adversary to a a threat or attempt to inflict offensive physical contact attacked or bodily harm on a person as by lifting a fist in a threatening manner that puts the person in immediate danger of ood wow that was interesting interesting of or in apprehension of such harm or contact and compare to the one B definition of the word battery that definition went on way longer than I expected Part of that wasn't parentheses But you can figure it out All right to be we we just have the two definition for the word rape Not a good word we are going to get there later much much later and we are going to move on to the second form of salt this is a transitive verb from the fifteenth century. One to make an assault on number two again we have the two definition for the word rape and here we have the transitive So yeah it's just a verb I I don't know why they put that there anyway. We're going to move onto the in transitive definition would just which just says to make an assault and a synonym. Him Is the word attack. A PSALTER is a noun and next we have assault boat two words and this is a noun from nineteen forty one a small portable boat used in an amphibious military attack or inland were warfare warfare for crossing rivers or lakes next. We have assaultive. This is an adjective God an adjective from nineteen eighteen. Forty six And if I didn't emphasize it it ends in T. v. e. one of relating to roar tending to toward Lord assault the word toward went over to the next line so again I got confused it says of relating to or tending toward assault. All all those t sounds As in assaultive behavior number two having an intense or abrasive effect on on the senses or emotions as in loud and assaultive music assaultive Lee is an adverb and assaultive nece is a noun the assault of -ness of this music is really hurting my ears next. We have assault rifle. This is a noun from nineteen seventy to to any of various automatic or semiautomatic rifles with large capacity magazines designed for military use and next is automatic. No assault weapon. I just saw the word automatic so I said that assault weapon is a noun from nineteen seventy-three any the of various automatic or semiautomatic firearms. Especially the one. We just read assault rifle next. We have a say A. S. A. Y. Could also be assay. I think hold on essay or assay yet. Both both Emphasis are correct. This is the first form. It is a noun from the fourteenth century. One is archaic and it has the Synonyms uh-huh trial and attempt number two examination and determination as to characteristics as weight measure or quality. Three three analysis as of an or or drug to determine the presence absence or quantity of one or more components also also a test used in this analysis for a substance to be assayed or assayed also the tabulated result of assaying. There's an I N G there and this is from anglo-french SI- A. S. S. A. I. OR ES SAI and there's more at the word essay with an e. Now we have the second form of assay say or say it is a verb Let's see yes. It is a verb from the fourteenth century. We are going to start with the transitive definitions. mm-hmm excuse me while I burp and scratch my lip. Number one we have these synonyms try and attempt to a to to analyze as an owner for one or more specific components to be to judge. The worth of synonym is estimate or estimate mate. Actually now we have the in transitive definition. It is to prove up up in an essay to prove up in an essay. Say or essay and Sayer is a noun next. We have asked A. S. S. E. D.. I'm curious to read with says. It is an adverb from nineteen twenty. Three it is often vulgar. Could've guessed that and we have these synonym of which is the third form of the word ass. Yes and it is used in combination as in sorry state of affairs And that reminds me. I actually thought about mentioning joining this earlier. Somewhere in my brain but I will say it here. There was a funny comic. I saw from X.. Cade was it s que. Si No ex- ex- K.. The CD DOT COM. I think I got the letters right. and it was one of the one of the comics that actually stuck with me It was just he said I like to change the hyphenation when I'm talking about things so if somebody said Oh that's a small ashkar he would change. The hyphenation sends a word at least in the way he says it and said and he would say that's a small asker and I I do that to this day either usually just in my brain but sometimes all say it out loud So if you were to combine the word ass with something so in this case Instead of being a sorry asked state of affairs it would be a sorry Asked state of affairs. That's a bad example. Though what was the other example we saw fancy ass. Well there's nothing to the rest of that sentence so never mind. We are going to move onto assegai acid guy. I think that's how it's pronounced A. S. S. E. G. A. I. OR OR A S S A G A. This is a noun from sixteen hundred a slender hardwood spear or light. JAVELINS usually tipped with iron and used in southern Africa. I think it'd be cool to see a picture of this one so we might have to put that on instagram. This is ultimately from the Arabic. Doc I'll show Gaya which means the Assegai and his from Al Which means the Plus Berber B. E. R. BE E R with a capital b at the front Oh wait I don't know. Oh Berber that's That must be a language. It's the Berber word. Chagai Which means spear and then when you combine those together thus beer it becomes the Assegai? I guess we are going to move onto the word assemblage assemblage. As I butcher the pronunciation it is a noun from sixteen ninety one. A collection of persons is or things synonym is gathering as in magic the assemblage number. Two the act of assembling this state of being gene assembled avengers make an assemblage of US three a the artistic composition Russian made from scraps junk and odds and ends as of paper cloth wood stone or metal three. Be the art of making assemblages assemblages and it looks like the pronunciation. Guide has two ways let's see assemblage or Asim Blige. ooh That's a fancy way to say it awesome lodge. I wonder if that's the the artistic one three artistic composition that would make sense. Do do people really say the word awesome badge okay we are going to move onto assemblage assembly gist or awesome blodget I literally the it has both of those. Those are both correct and man. I'M GONNA have to start saying awesome. Blige every time I say the word assemblage which which is probably eight times a day this is a noun again. We're talking about awesome largest or assembly. Gist this is a noun from nineteen sixty five. An artist artist. Who Specializes in assemblages? Man That's GonNa that blew my mind next. We have the word assemble. It is a verb from the thirteenth century the transitive definitions are I as usual one to bring together as in a particular place or for a particular purpose to to fit together the parts of now we have the in transitive transitive definition. It means to meet together convene is a synonym and another one is the word. Gather and and Let's see the etymology says. This is anglo-french awesome rare from the Latin similary which is from ad plus similar S. I M. U. L. Symbol which means together and there's more at the same S. a. m. e.. We are going to do one more for this episode. The last word on the page actually is mostly on the next page. So we're going to skip it. We're not going to skip it. We're just going to save it for later. Assembler is the last word for this episode A. S. S. e. m. b. l. e. r.. This is a noun from sixteen sixteen one one that assembles symbols to a computer program that Automatically Converts Instructions Written in Assembly language into machine language edge. I don't know what assembly language is. And to be we have these synonyms assembly language. I I I'm curious what it is. I haven't heard of that it's probably some programming codeine language. Possibly all right. What is the word of the episode while I have to pick awesome blog? Because I really don't think I've ever heard that before and that was fascinating. Thank you very much for listening I will be having some some guests readers soon In early December I got a guy who recorded a couple episodes on his own which I still have to listen to. And I'm hoping to record some some episodes with some people in person Hopefully very soon and If you have any recommendations for people if you know celebrity If you if you're able to contact one and you think that they might want to be a guest reader talk to them get us in contact. I think that would be awesome. I have sent some messages messages. But nobody cares. So yeah. That hasn't happened yet. That's it for me. Thank you and goodbye..

"Well, this is what we talked about you, and I receive kicking around Toronto in these. Couple of days where like, okay, well, you know, essentially what you're going to get from qui-. But with the supporting cast members you really haven't had anything like approaching consistency. Right, right. Like they've all had like moments like Larry's had a couple of games where he's been good in the early in the playoffs. There was games when he wasn't Fred. Vanfleet was horrendous, and then all of a sudden went supernova and he hadn't missed the three against the box. And then, you know against the Arkham who as you mentioned thirty two points on seventeen shots. Mix fourteen of them. He was just so officiant tonight and he had the boards. He played good defense and on a night win. And I'm saying this in air quotes, not the best Leonard night, right? And still he ends up with twenty three points and gets the line twelve times in like, like for any other normal human would have been a good night. Right. And I think with the thing that you do not that you're looking for great clouds inside of a silver lining after a game one win. If you're Toronto, but co I looked more hampered tonight than he did at the end of the Milwaukee series. And I think that's a maybe a little bit of a call. For concern, you know, as you know, the, the leg issues that he's been having have those sat something from him overall, but the really, really heartening news is he still drawing a ton of defensive attention. You know, at times it was the warriors throwing three bodies at them, you know to off the catch and then one is a helper behind. And so all of that attention is going to lead to open opportunities for his teammates, and he kept making those passes a couple of sort of errant throws under duress in the first half, but generally made the right past made the kickout swing swing finding open shot. And this is exactly what the rafters have to have if they're going to win the series, you need, Marcus assaultive confidently take those shots. And you'd see them to take those shots and attack off the dribble to be close out. You need Danny green to make some of those open corner, threes that he's been getting all playoffs long. And so you get some of those shots to go down early. Everybody's confidence. Improves everybody feels a little bit more like they've got a hold of the game. And then you get the sort of things cranked up on both ends, and that was the story for the raptors tonight, even if kuwa- isn't looking like. The best player in the postseason as he has for the last several weeks. Everybody else is capable of handling more and, you know, you see what happens when Toronto gets those sorts of performances, yet, you mentioned coli like when there was, you're sort of throwing everything out him in him being able to make the past and find the open guy. And like good brings confidence to the supporting cast chaos has made this point several times on the mismatch, that Kawai isn't a great passer, but he's a good and willing passer. And when he's thinking that way, if they're going to, you know, blitz him and trap them in double, a man, and just throw everything they can Adam and he can't find those open guys in those open guys do hit those shots. That's all the better for the raptors. And you mentioned a couple of those guys, one of whom was Marcus all who had twenty points and seven rebounds, and then eventually fouled out against in line six times and made off sex, but he was willing to take those shots night. And I thought it was like a pretty good Marcus all game. Like maybe one of the better ones we've seen in the playoffs. Absolutely. And I think the maybe even more encouraging because we we've seen him have nights in the playoffs where he is aggressive. He is looking at take those shots. It's not all the time because that's not generally, how he's wired. He's always make the extra pass guy. But we've seen him do that. I think the most encouraging thing if you're out there fan is defensively he was excellent. And he was excellent in space. He was excellent being up on pick and rolls when Steph curry Klay Thompson is coming around the screen off the catch..

The secretary of state Mike von peyot, condemned Russian aggression and called on the Kremlin to return three. Ukrainian ships in twenty four sailors who were detained this weekend, and the Kurt straight off of Crimea US ambassador to United Nations Maki Haley called the seizure, a quote outrageous violation of Ukrainian sovereignty, but that assertiveness and outrage was not matched by the commander in chief when ask this afternoon, President Trump seem to suggest that either side could be to blame. We do not like what's happening the way, we don't like what's happening at hopefully, they'll get straightened out the Ukrainian government released this video showing what it claims is a Russian ship intentionally ramming our Ukrainian boats in Barbara Starr's at the Pentagon, Barbara these countries have been conflict since two thousand fourteen of because of Russia's aggression. I think it's pretty much. Agreed. What sparked this latest confrontation? Well, the timing of this over the weekend. Jake could not be more interesting. Because of course, Mr. Trump is expected perhaps to meet Vladimir Putin the upcoming t twenty economic summit and Buenos Aires within the coming days. This puts the two leaders back in touch and pretty much back in the same place will President Trump directly condemn this action to flat. Amir Putin will the US do anything to hold Russia accountable throughout the day. We have seen Nikki Haley, the UN ambassador. Take a tough line. The secretary of state now take a tough line and in Europe. Both the EU and NATO taking a very tough line on this. And why they are doing that. This is a big concern in eastern Europe. The Russians are expert at stirring up trouble, just sort of conflict. Really, they stir up. Trouble the t escalate a situation they upset everybody then they withdraw. But yet they gained ground as they have in Crimea. Don't forget it was President Trump who so strongly criticized President Obama for not doing anything when the Russians went into Crimea, which is the neighborhood we're talking about. So now the ball is in Mr. Trump's court the Russians have made their move again. And now what will the president of the United States do Barbara quickly? If you could could there be any additional action besides reconnaissance flights that have been proposed? We are seeing those Khanna since flights by the navy and the airforce there collecting intelligence trying to determine exactly what both sides are up to. But we are told that's about as far as it's going to go right now to Barbara Starr at the Pentagon. Thanks so much. "Because I heard your speech earlier is you're talking about how there doesn't seem to be a home in the Republican party right now for minority voters Repub Republicans are not taking. Minority voters into their hearts and homes. This is not obviously a new criticism of the Republican party. It's obviously one that you, and Tim, Scott and will hurt and others. Don't don't subscribe to. But but do you think it's gotten worse under President Trump? I think I think we can I think we can do better. It certainly doesn't help to have the president attack. Somebody who is, you know, a member of the same party, especially you know, we worked really well together and being Joshua halt home. And I was proud of that that was something I can actually say thank you and work towards and continue to work on other things. But I think that it's it's still a problem. I say something. I'm I'm sorta interrupted I just want to because. Yeah. Because you bring up with Joshua hold had been held hostage. And when President Trump did that whole thing about me a love she showed me. No love by me. Whatever he got. He mentioned how you would worked together on a hostage. But it was almost as though I thought I helped her with a hostage in American hostage. Therefore, she should have done X Y or Z or showing me more appreciation, which I thought was so bizarre. Just because it's his job and your job to help save Americans. Well, I know what my job is. And and I have to tell you that I have no regrets. I have no regrets because Joshua's home. And I think every American out there should know that not just their president. But their Representative also will not forget them will not leave them abandoned. And that is that is my job. I was looking for. Thank you from the whole family. I was doing what I felt I would want Representative to do if that were my child, and you see that's the difference there. I think that. We could do a lot better. If we honestly take people and take them into our hearts and make it personal. This is not just about politics as usual, we need to turn it around and make it personal because it's certainly personal for all of the people that we represent so I can't wait to actually get out there and talk about how we could be doing better how to move the conservative policies forward. How to go ahead and do everything that we possibly can to make lives better for people? So let me ask you this will obviously not have your last time on the show. But I, but I want to know there are a lot of people out there who wonder well, what's next for you? You're still young. I mean losing one race is not ABRAHAM LINCOLN lost to house race. I mean it happens. I mean, what are you going to run for office again? Or are there? Other things you're thinking about doing next. You know, I'm a very faithful person that is going to be between, you know, heavenly father, my family, and I'm leaving all options open. I'm just going to, you know, allow myself to be to be a servant and do everything I can and be an example to my kids because this has been a great experience for my children. They have seen that the world doesn't revolve around them that they have to use their gifts and talents for the betterment of society. So that is that is part of me being an example to my children, and I'm going to do everything I can to continue to serve this great country that we live in. All right. We'll we'll have you on again soon congresswoman Mia love Republican of Utah. Thank you so much. Appreciate your being here. Thank you take. Thanks, turning joy money lead. President Trump sending a message to General Motors after the automaker announced. It was slashing its workforce in North America. By fifteen percent. This country has done a lot for General Motors, you'd better get back in there that show. Hi, oh. And you better get back in there soon. So we have a lot of pressure on them. You have senators you have a lot of other people. Lot of pressure GM is also shutting down five facilities and Ontario Canada. Michigan Maryland and Ohio. "Just one race is left to call to determine the final balance of power in the house of representatives with a race in New Mexico. The last holdout this afternoon in Utah incumbent Republican congresswoman Mia love conceded in a tightly contended house race, and that deep red state democrat, Ben mcadams won by just seven hundred votes. Meaning Democrats have now officially picked up thirty eight seats in the house. And joining me now is Republican congresswoman Mia love from Utah congresswoman it's great to see again. Sorry. It's under these circumstances. I want you to take a listen to a comment. President Trump made the day after the election about your race. Which at the time had not even been called take a listen, right? Right. No love and she lost to bed. So about that. What what did you think about that? When he said that. You know, I guess I was surprised at first. But you know, I started thinking about what what what would what would start that? What would spirit that the thought to make that comment? And I guess that's what it, you know, it reminded me of the problem that we as Republicans have in terms of making sure that we're not transactional with people that we actually build relationships are policies. The reason why I'm Republican and conservative is because I know these policies work, my parents came from a country where it was one dictator after another. They taught me the value of personal responsibility fiscal discipline limited government, they got a front row seat to seeing that actually work, and I am the first generation American and also a member of congress they've gone way above and beyond their American dream. And so this, you know, when we talk about policies and implementing policies, the problem that I see with Republicans and why we lose. Is because we truly never take anyone home. We never we never take them into our hearts, and that was an example of of the problem there, you have if you think about this, my parents who are big Trump supporters, right? Supported him. I they got they heard the comment. The, you know, the the countdown when he called Haiti a pool, right? My parents are from Haiti right? Well, well, my my parents are from Haiti eve, I mean, you can dismiss that and say, you know, what that's not. But then, you know, here his, you know, you've got a daughter their daughter who's a Republican and very very conservative and unapologetically pro-life for this comment to come out of nowhere. I think is just e we can do better than that. And that's what I was. That's what I'm trying to say is that as Republicans we need to honestly help people feel like they can trust us sincere. Build relationships making sure that that policies aren't just about transactions and winning. A vote. It's about really doing what's right? Instead of what's expedient. You gave a very poignant speech today. You said they come January. You're going to be unleashed untethered and unshackled. Do you wish that you were more outspoken during your tenure, especially about President Trump? Do you think that maybe if you had been more outspoken, maybe you would have won? Look, I know I I don't have any regrets as the house of representatives the Brent of government. That's closest to people. I have people that I represent from all ends of the spectrum. And it's important for me to make sure that I am considerate of their needs and their thoughts. But I believe that we have a lot of work to do with conservatives. Like, I said these policies work. They're good for people. And we want to make sure that we give people a home or make people feel like they have a home because Republicans are compassionate. I am the policies. I it's it's one thing, but to apply that and be engaging to where people live, and where their thoughts are, and what really affects their families that to me is building a personal relationship where people can trust Republicans they can trust and then trust the policies. And so that's why I want to get to I want to get to the point where we actually talk about real things. And let's let's put it out in the open. Let's be open Frank and honest about. About how we feel and about the policies and how they work for people and how they don't work and one of the things you're talking about..

"That's the kind of the old adage so you've got to run through the finish line. No matter who you're running against. I think Senator Hyde Smith comments rod fortunate. They were they were playing out dumb. Right. You don't you? Don't say those things. I mean, it is. Racially insensitive is is mild statement. But I don't think she's a racist. I think she said some really bad things that she's apologized for them. I think Simone's point we've discussed this earlier on on different shows have been so many charges of racism throughout the campaign and different campaigns some justified some warded some nut that it kind of it Republicans ears. Become death almost a certain point. Right. So in certain instances, where there may be a cry racism or are they being true racism, it's gonna fall away because so many times it's been brought up in the past. I think that's the say Say something something about about that. I that. mean, the fact that the matter is that people of color in this country deal with these realities every single day black and Brown Louisville. But black and Brown people that run campaigns. They deal with these issues and largely had previously been overlooked. And so the fact that things are now coming to light that people are willing to call a Spade a Spade and speak on it. I don't think Republicans get to feel some type of way because folks are pointing out the truth. I think we need to have more poignant and real conversations that can call out racism, but also talk about the economy and say, well, listen, I I agree with your point about and you're not going over the top. And she's racist. You're said because you talk about you know, healthcare and things that really matter and those are the things that no win races. Not cries cries, a racist thing, we talk about issues, I think those sway voters much more especially in this instance, whether whether a big issues on the issue for people. Sees endorse voted. But I I think he went more voters. We talk about. I mean a lot of these rate which voters are you trying to win. This is this is a real question. The people that just isn't isn't the fact that Espy has been covering a reacting to certain way that he wouldn't be react if he were running this in New York. The acting different. Let's get real moderate. But remember the FBI different than Andrew gillum SE as actual matter who frankly, I don't think has run the best campaign. I think that they have missed opportunity to capitol report when dealing with charges of racism burst onto the scene there. Andrew Kelham took it back to the center. So let's talk about issues very smartly played by I would say what the thing is though if this does come down to race as Priscilla said, there are more white people than black people in Mississippi. And it's a radio, but but it is a very racially polarized state blacks Senate vote democrat and whites vote Republican more starkly than another sticks. Right. And and we don't really have a good sense of what the outcome will be because Mississippi is a state where there's a whole lot of polling that said it's a red state, which is why you see someone like Lindsey Graham for just tweeted a little bit ago that Hyde Smith is good on the military borders, conservative judges. He basically said vote Republican vote Republican. Indeed, everyone goes stick around President Trump said that Mia love gave him no love but after bowing out of her midterm race. Earlier today congresswoman Mia loves the first black female Republican in congress says she's now unleashed untethered unshackled. She's going to join me next.

"I know he apologized says she missed, but I will tell you this. I've known her for Berta time now as a Senator she's been an excellent Saturday. Mike Espy is still considered to be the underdog in this race. Let's face it. It is still a Mississippi still conservative. But even some Republicans say he could win if everything breaks his way tomorrow, Jay, all right? Martin savage. Thanks so much. I want to get your reaction Simone to the latest defense by the Trump team. Take a listen to Lara Trump. The president's daughter-in-law. This is nothing new the Democrats always spring racism at a Republican contender in any field across the country. So this is nothing new listen Cindy Hyde. Smith apologize for these remarks. And I think if you actually watch the way it happened. I think a lot was taken out of context and really blown up out of proportion. Well at one I didn't know Larry Trump is now on and gets a strategist. So welcome. Works works for the president's. Reelection can interesting, look, I think the facts are here that the if we have a tape, and I know that there are many folks in the Trump war bid that like to deny things that are literally on tape. But we have a tape of the current Senator saying what she said about public hangings. But we also have is our track record was she has voted. She literally supported policies against protecting those pre existing conditions that would really hurt people in Mississippi. So I think this defense saying that all Democrats want to do is quite racism is is just not true. These are the facts that what she said was not just racially insensitive is some people would like to paint it as racist. She said her her daughter, and she herself attended a segregationist high school that was created to literally for folks who did not want their children to go to school, but the black people build it just affects sorry, a business owner who grew up in the Mississippi wrote an op Ed in the in the Jackson free press describing Hyde Smith this way, quote, I don't think she is a racist in the white nationalist sense of the word in a way. She something. Worst. She's oblivious to the real life issues of the average, Mississippi, and and unrelenting int- in her ignorance this election has really come down to race. I mean on these comments coming from Smith about the lynching, and then you have Democrats latching onto that and saying that they're going to bring diversity and inclusion and that's really where this race is headed. Now is looking at that as a core issue where the core point is race. And the David Mississippi hasn't elected Democrats eighty-two Henry barber who's the Republican National Committee commitment from Mississippi put it bluntly, the politico, he said, quote, we don't want to have an Alabama obviously referring to Doug Jones, beating ROY Moore Republicans genuinely worried about the should it should be right. "It wasn't the border patrol fired into a peaceful crowd do that that's complete misery and everyone stick around with what we got a lot more to talk about President Trump is right now on his way to Mississippi hoping to save a Senate seat for Republicans the new racially details turned tomorrow's runoff election. For McGinn me into a maybe stay with us. Disappoint. Hey, it's Howard Beck. And I've gotten Michael Rapaport on Bleacher reports the bowl forty eight three. It's like wrestling like when LeBron jersey on he's whole Cogan or he's Andre the giant or easy iron Sheik. I don't care we as off the court kinda wanna know what he has a jersey on I want him down. So check out the full forty eight now on the Bleacher report app or subscribe at apple podcasts. We're back with our politics lead in the scab of estates ugly racist past being picked at before tomorrow's Senate runoff election. This morning outside the Mississippi State capital in Jackson to two nooses voting. The state's horrific history of lynching were discovered hanging from trees along with several signs. One of would said voters should elect the Senator who will quote respect lynched victims. That's a clear reference to this video from campaign event where the incumbent Republican senators Cindy, Hyde Smith said she liked one of her supporters so much quote, if he invited me to a public hanging. I would be on the front row. Such comments have her race against former democratic congressman Mike Espy more competitive than expected. But President Trump dismissed the controversy is he headed to route to rally in the reliably red state. He won by nearly eighteen points. Savages live at the state capital in Jackson and Mark you've been speaking to voters in Mississippi. What are they saying about at all? Well, it depends on who you talk to. Of course, you know, there should have been a very easy race for Senator city Huntsville, then the state has read as Mississippi, but she's run into an unexpected problem. Her own words. We begin the race for Mississippi said it wasn't supposed to be close. And it certainly wasn't supposed to be controversial. But Republicans are not worried as new reporting reveals more and more about Senator Cindy, Hyde Smith past she supported at least two to elevate Mississippi's confederate history c k file investigative team found she wants cosponsored a resolution that appeared to glorify the confederate cause at according to the Washington Post. She back to resolution in two thousand one to rename a Mississippi highway after the president of the confederacy. This is two thousand fourteen images emerged showing Hyde Smith posing the confederate hat and holding a rifle during heights Smith's campaign. She remarked sheet attend a public hanging if invited by supporter. And seemingly endorsed voter suppression. At what she called liberal college campuses. She offered a partial apology for the public hanging remark. Anyone that was offended for my by my comments. I certainly apologize. But quickly added I also recognize that this comment was twisted. And it was turned into a weapon to be used to get me husband gone over will in the state that has a history of both. Someone told me that was the gift that keeps them giving especially with her democratic opponent. Mike Espy is African American for opponent is using all of this to his advantage and television, so embarrassing. She'd be a disaster for Mississippi companies, including WalMart and major league baseball have requested refunds for their contributions to the Hyde Smith campaign, a move Espy suggests says she's bad for business if he wins SP would become Mississippi's. I African American Senator since the end of the civil war. I know I can't win. Oh, black votes. I'll tell everyone I need repub-. Lukens independence. I need those who've never voted before. "So the idea that he's gonna get these people on board even with this visit digital pressure. It's hard to believe. And then next year. It'll be you know, talk. About how the Democrats won't do it over and over again part of me wonders if the president even wants to the wall after he just wants to political issue. We'll David the president has been has been threatening that he's willing to even potentially shut down the government if he doesn't get funding for the border wall. Take a listen to Senator Joni Ernst Republican from Iowa Dan bash yesterday on state of the union asked if he'd be right? If you shut down the government if you didn't get funding for the border wall. I would rather that he didn't again, we as congress need to work really hard one to make sure that we are funding our government that that is our job as long as is defined the government. But we also understand that our constituents have have stated quite clearly that they want to say our border protected. What you're saying it, look, I think anytime the government shutdown Republicans are anywhere near they get blamed regardless whether they're job or not they get blamed for it. So I think it's a bad idea. I've breast out to the president and before I think that's bad idea for the government shutdown book. I do think you made the point earlier that this episode is is great evidence for what they're going to go and stand in the house, well and the Senate floor and say, this is exactly why we need a border wall. No matter how many border checkpoint. You have folks are gonna come Russian the wall and trying to get through it is it's the it's the best example of the worst case. And that's that's exactly what's going to be used for despite the foul. Thousands of peaceful folks that have been pointed out the hundred or so or five hundred or so whatever the bad numbers are if you have folks who are Russian that have gone around the federal police in Mexico throwing rocks at border patrol agents and really acting like thugs and criminals really paints. It is a bad picture. And also just something that we're seeing here too is that they are trying to get to the ports of entry. So even if you to build a border wall, which is what Trump is really advocating for they're still trying to get through the legal avenue here to meet you. To be Frank which was what the government shutdown yesterday, the government shutdown a port of entry. And so to me frankly, folks were Doda yesterday. Okay. They weren't the point of entry the San if joke, but that is a port of entry. That is also a very now the federal the federal and out every single day. And so I think, you know, for the government to claim the folks are trying to enter the country illegally when the legal way to claim a Silom is the go to a point of entry. Then the government Twitter injury people were really issue. But I to say I will say I want to note that the use of tear gas in this instance, which I do believe incited the run to the board. And it was a peaceful protest up until I believe the tear gas was deployed tear gas is not a agent. I guess is not a Kimmel is not a chemical agent. I believe it should be used on civilians, although it is for some crazy legal to do. Although you cannot use it in warfare. It is literally. But you're it's all. Oh, Terry, the military tear gas is used it not legal to be using warfare. David. Are you telling me you won't? I don't know what the agent exactly they didn't Matt leaves it police. What? Again, what I'm saying is it it is a legal to use tear gas in warfare. But for some reason United States. It's okay to use it on civilian agent. It's been used at the border. It was used on standing rock in two thousand sixteen and was using Cody fourteen. Let me just say I listened to the detail reporting about how this went down. It wasn't that these guys fired they fired only after these hundred or so folks charge the border..

"It's not gonna it's not gonna walk away from Saudi Arabia on this. I think that the hill is going to push back hard as Jackie said pushback, very hard, especially on Yemen. There's there's this incredible famine is taking place in Yemen, which is target heartstrings of of lots and lots of people. So they're really three issues. The Saudis face internally, they face human rights and some allegations of human rights being abused prisoners people being held prisoner. You have the issue with with cutter and the neighbors, and then you have this this war in Yemen. And it's three giant issues on the plate. They need to kind of clean up. And I think they're gonna be forced to do that by by the hill. Not the administration. I think they ministration made a real politique decision here that this is how it's gonna go you pointed this out earlier, the American people are going to yawn and get tired of this at some point. It's going to move on. But the hills gonna hold their feet to the fire. Why do you think President Trump seems to have such an issue with believing experts whether it's intelligence experts or scientists in his own administration with the national climate assessment? You know, I don't know Jake part of it could be because the president thinks he knows best. But I think that's also inconsistent with things he said before that he was to surround himself with the best people, and he'll take advice from the experts. The experts literally telling him that the crown prince the Saudi Crown prince's behind the killing of democracy and experts also telling him that not only is climate change a real it is we have to do something about it right now. So I I'm not really sure why he's coming down the way he is coming down on the very clear fats of the matter. He tends not to believe this. But I do think that that's why congress is very important here. And so congress is a Coequal branch of government. And I believe that they are going to finally do something and holding the Saudis accountable. Look, I would like to note that again, it was not until the murder of democracy that even main I would say mainstream Democrats and Republicans were talking about the the war in Yemen. What has been happening what the Saudi Crown prince in the Saudis have been complicit in from the beginning. The things that David is named in terms of humanitarian. Ian issues lacking. Bolts the Saudi Crown prince rounded up a whole host of a high elected officials in entry and lock them up in the Ritz Carlton, not elected. I level officials and lock them up in the Ritz Carlton. So this is nothing new, and I wonder if this is where the rubber meets the road on this and finally the Saudis held account. It'll be interesting to see the next congress because this congress we have seen them push back on Republicans have aunt on on the Russian sanctions sanctions. Yeah. Saudi arabia. There was too big votes. Rand Paul had great. So so they they have pushed back now, you have an incoming congress that is that the Republicans. There are more amenable to the president. They're closer to the president because several of them feel as if the president helped push them over the line. And you also have the incoming formulations chair. Jim risch was not challenged the president in the same way. He's voted like a lot of the Republicans. But in terms of being more forceful like Bob corker. He's not like that. I mean, but just real quickly. I know you gonna close here, but the war in in Yemen is really a proxy war being fought by the Iranians against the rest of their neighbors in the Persian Gulf, right? Let's not be let's not confuse. This is an all out attempt by the Iranian the. To really have an influence in the region. And they're shooting missiles at our embassy in Riyadh. So we shouldn't sit back and think that, you know, this is all bad on the Saudis, the Iranians have really bad actors yet, and they need to be spanked. Right. But the Saudis have also been complicit in the Saudis have been complicit in no nowhere. Have. We did to hold them accountable everyone..

"I don't believe it report. The White House is now downplaying by claiming it's quote, largely based on the most extreme scenario, which one of the authors disputes on Twitter calling. The White House's statement quote demonstrably false just days after the president saw firsthand the devastating effects of California's worst wildfire in history. Great climbing, bookie arguments climate change that it's drier. It's hotter and the batch contributing to it maybe contribute to a little bit. The big problem. We have is management last week. President Trump signed it the recent cold snaps to mock climate change tweeting brutal and extended call blast could shatter all records, whatever happened to global warming. But the president failed to acknowledge the difference between short term weather patterns and long-term climate trends. Bears repeating that this climate change study that the president is dismissing involve thirteen federal agencies and more than three hundred climate scientists meantime, the president will soon be stumping in Mississippi for Republicans Cindy Hyde Smith in the last Senate race had been under fire for racially offensive comments. The president today came out defended her saying, she apologized and suggested that should suffice Jake Pamela Brown, thanks so much. We'll talk about the Mississippi Senate race in a moment. But I want to get to this issue of the president dismissing experts within his own administration right now Jackie several Republicans are calling for full briefing from the State Department and Pentagon on the murder of Jomo who Shuki the Washington Post. Journalists among them is one of the president's fiercest defenders on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham who told CNN don't think congress is gonna look away if he is making the world a more dangerous place. We're not gonna give an autocratic leader a pass and Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa sit on state of the union today. Congressman congress must be. Prepared to act. Do you think that there's actually going to be a showdown with Senate Republicans forcing the president to do more with Saudi Arabia? There's gonna be a showdown you have to imagine. Someone like Lindsey Graham is back channeling what with the president or with the chief of staff. John Kelly trying to get him to a better place in terms of Jamal kashogi and Saudi Arabia that said the again, he's he's invested so much doubled tripled down on this. It's hard to see whether whether he he moves it all and the we've seen the Republican congress, at least on some foreign policy issues, push the envelope. And at some point the president has fold Senator Mike Lee, a very conservative Republican from Utah was on. I think it was meet the press yesterday was asked about the president saying that it's not conclusive. It's there's you know, we don't know that is behind it and Mike Lee who doesn't really go after Trump that much said, that's that's inconsistent. With the intelligence I've seen which suggests that NBS is behind it. And this is the core issue here. Right. The conclusion that the prince asked for this to happen and Trump will not have that. And something that he's argued is that it hurts the US economically even to go against a partner, like Saudi Arabia and even on the hill. Something else that we're going to see in the coming months as Representative Adam Schiff, who's the incoming chair of the house intelligence committee. He has said that his committee is going to delve into this further. So all this is going to keep on folding. And again, it's coming to that place. Where Trump can you know, perhaps make that argument that he's either sending in Saudi Arabia or coming to the assessment that the CIs why does he not to believe experts within his own administration? I think the president bullet. I don't want to speak to the president here. I don't know what he believes what he doesn't believe on this on the on the murder of the journalist here. I do believe that he's gonna stand by the Saudis..

"Three hundred scientists and experts warned that were in a climate catastrophe, but this afternoon, President Trump says he's not buying the lead starts right now. President Trump moments ago saying he does not believe a scientific report about the disastrous consequences of climate change in. This isn't the only thing he's doubting flexing ignoring from experts with potentially life or death consequences. The crisis of his choosing President Trump today capitalizing and making new threats after tear-gas rains on migrants end their children rushing the border plus Mississippi voting the state prepares to pick a Senator as the incumbent stumbles over her states, ugly past and fastened yourself. The President Trump who heads there right now the polar across the finish line. Welcome to the lead. I'm Jake tapper. We begin with our politics lead in the president of the United States publicly dismissing the expert findings of his own administration this afternoon. The president said he did not believe the national climate assessment mandated by congress and quietly released by the Trump administration and a post thanksgiving news dump the report outlines the potentially devastating economic and environmental impact of climate change in states unequivocally. The climate change is quote, primarily as a result of human activities on quote. The report was led by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration working with a team of more than three hundred scientists and other experts with findings based on an assessment of the peer reviewed scientific literature but moments ago, President Trump glibly dismissed the report. I've seen it. I've read some of it. And it's fine. I don't believe it. No, no. I don't believe in all part of a pattern that you're familiar with. I'm sure we're the president disregards backs in favor of whatever reality. He finds most politically or personally expedient at the moment vaccines cause autism. That's false. But he believes it. He saw multiple New Jersey Muslim celebrating nine eleven on television. That's false. But he believes it the list goes on and on. But now, the consequences are literally life and death. And the president is ignoring the conclusions of the experts who work in his administration such as the assessment that Saudi Crown prince Mohammad bin Salman was behind the murder of journalist Jamal. He shook g or the intelligence communities conclusion that Russia sought to interfere in the two thousand sixteen presidential election CNN's, Pamela Brown is at the White House and Pamela the White House. Rebuttal follows this pattern of. Hewing to fax. The White House said the report was just the worst case scenario. But but that's not true. It's not just the worst case scenario. It offers a lot of different scenarios, right. In fact, one of the study's authors came out today and said the report considers all scenarios, and that what the White House is saying is flat out false. But this is a president who has a history of dismissing findings from his own administration. When he finds the facts politically inconvenient. And in this latest case as you just heard there he has gone out saying he doesn't believe this devastating climate change report compiled by his own administration. Tonight. President Trump looking south towards the US Mexico border coming into the United States. They will not be coming in our threatening on Twitter does shut down the border permanently and threatening government shutdown over the issue when you look at the people coming in this should be very good time to shutdown comes after weeks of the president's stoking, fears and demonizing the migrant caravan, they're bad people, not letting criminals into our country, the fearful from Tijuana are saying, well, these are tough people that fighting us there in fistfights all over the place. These are tough people that are coming in the president turning a blind eye to the women and children among the crowd of migrants teargassed over the weekend after border patrol agents said some threw projectiles at them while rushing the border. Well, he plays up the border issue. President Trump is playing down the CIA's assessment that Saudi Crown prince Mohammad bin Salman was involved in the murderer. Washington Post journalist Jamal kashogi. They did not make that assessment. The CIA is looked at it. They've studied it a lot. They have nothing definitive. I will say this. I don't know. I don't know. But whether he did or whether he didn't he denies it vehemently after several days of staying quiet Trump now talking about his own government's report released Friday, which warns climate change could cost the US economy. Hundreds of billions of dollars and kill thousands of people before the end of the century. I've seen it. I've read some of it. And it's fine..

The last holdout this afternoon in Utah incumbent Republican congresswoman Mia love conceited in tightly contended house race in that deep red state democrat, Ben mcadams one seven hundred votes meeting. Democrats have now officially picked up thirty eight seats in the house. And joining me now is Republican congresswoman Mia love from Utah congresswoman it's great to see again. Sorry. It's under these circumstances. I want you to take a listen to comment President Trump made the day after the election about your race. Which at the time had not even been called take a listen, right? Right. No love and she lost to bed. So about that. What what did you think about that? When he said that. You know, I guess I was surprised at first. But you know, I started thinking about what what what would what would start that? What would spirit that the thought to make that comment? And I guess that's what it, you know, it reminded me of the problem that we as Republicans have in terms of making sure that we're not transactional with people that we actually build relationships our policies. The reason why I'm Republican and conservative is because I know these policies work, my parents came from a country where it was one dictator after another. They taught me the value of personal responsibility fiscal discipline limited government, they got a front row seat to seeing that actually work. And I am the first generation American also a member of congress they've gone way above and beyond their American dream. And so this, you know, when we talk about policies and implementing policies, the problem that I see with Republicans and why we lose. Is because we've truly never take anyone home. We never we never take them into our hearts, and that was an example of of the problem there, you have if you think about this, my parents who are big Trump supporters, right? Supported him for stay got. They heard the comment. The, you know, the the comment when he called Haiti a ride my parents are from Haiti right? Well, well, my my parents are from Haiti eve, I mean, you can dismiss that and say, you know, what that's not. But then you know here. His e you know, you've got a daughter their daughter who's Republican very very conservative and unapologetically pro-life for this comment to come out of nowhere. I think is just we can do better than that. And that's what I was. That's what I'm trying to say is that as Republicans we need to honestly help people feel like they can trust us me sincere. Build relationships making sure that that policies aren't just about transactions and winning. Ng a vote. It's about really doing what's right instead of what's expedient, very pointed speech today, you said that come January you're going to be unleashed untethered and unshackled. Do you wish that you were more outspoken during your tenure, especially about President Trump? Do you think that maybe if you had been more outspoken, maybe you would have won? Look, I know I I don't have any regrets as the house of representatives the Brent of government. That's closest to people. I have people that I represent from all ends of the spectrum end it it's important for me to make sure that I am considerate of their needs and their thoughts. But I believe that we have a lot of work to do with conservatives. Like, I said these policies work. They're good for people. And we wanna make sure that we give people a home or make people feel like they have a home because Republicans are compassionate. I am the policies. I it's it's one thing, but to apply that and being gauging to where people live, and where their thoughts are, and what really affects their families that to me is building a personal relationship where people can trust Republicans they can trust and then trust the policies. And so that's why I want to get to I wanna get to the point where we actually talk about real things. And let's let's put it out in the open. Let's be opened Franken honest about. About how we feel and about the policies and how they work for people and how they don't work and one of the things you're talking about..

"Yeah. I don't believe it. A report the White House is now downplaying by claiming it's quote, largely based on the most extreme scenario, which one of the authors disputes on Twitter calling. The White House's statement quote demonstrably false just days after the president saw firsthand the devastating effects of California's worst wildfire in history. Great climbing the arguments climate change that it's drier it's hotter, and that's contributing to maybe contribute to a little bit. The big problem. We have is management last week. President Trump signed at the recent Colt snaps to mock by mid change tweeting. Brutal and extended cold blast quit shatter all records. Whatever happened to global warming. But the president failed to acknowledge the difference between short term weather patterns and long-term climate trends. The bears repeating that this climate change study that the president is dismissing involved the thirteenth federal agencies and more than three hundred climate scientists meantime, the president will soon be stumping in Mississippi for Republicans Cindy Hyde Smith in the last Senate race you had been under fire for racially offensive comments. The president today came out defended her saying, she apologized and suggested that should suffice Jake Pamela Brown, thanks so much. And we'll talk about the Mississippi Senate race in a moment. But I want to get to this issue of the president dismissing experts within his own administration right now Jackie several Republicans are calling for a full briefing from the State Department and Pentagon on the murder of Jamal who Shuki the Washington Post. Journalists among them is one of the president's fiercest defenders on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham who told CNN don't think congress is going to look away if he NBS making the world a more dangerous place. We're not gonna give an autocratic leader a pass and Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa said on state of the union. Congressman congress must be. Prepared to act. Do you think that there's actually going to be a showdown with Senate Republicans forcing the president to do more with Saudi Arabia? I don't know there's going to be a showdown you have to imagine someone like Lindsey Graham is back channel in which with the president or with the chief of staff. John Kelly trying to get him to a better place in terms of Jamal kashogi and Saudi Arabia that said the again, he's he's invested so much doubled tripled down on this. It's hard to see whether whether he he moves at all, and the what we've seen the Republican congress, at least on some foreign policy issues, push the envelope. And at some point the president has full Senator Mike Lee, a very conservative Republican from Utah was on. I think it was meet the press yesterday was asked about the president saying that it's not conclusive. There's you know, we don't know that NBS is behind it. And Mike Lee who doesn't really go after Trump that much said, that's that's inconsistent. Something else that we're going to see in the coming months Representative Adam Schiff, who's the incoming chair of the house intelligence committee. He has said that his committee is going to delve into this further. So all this is going to keep on folding. And again, it's coming to that place. Where Trump can you know, perhaps make that argument that he's standing and Saudi Arabia are coming to the assessment that the CIA s why does he not to believe experts within his own administration the president bullet? I don't want to speak to the president here. I don't know what he believes what he doesn't believe on this on the on the murder of journalist here. I do believe that he's gonna stand by the Saudis..
