"So I see him afterwards, many hours afterwards. And it's it's brought a tear to my eye many times because it does mean a lot. It's cool to see even the IMS radio broadcast. They I heard it this morning because I did an interview and they played what they were saying when I took the lead last year. And it's just, you know, or the two years ago. It's just it's awesome. This place means the most to me. And just having success, like doing it's awesome. But when you start to feel success here and when you start to feel that, you know, you're getting closer and closer to winning, that's that's what makes you want to do it even more. I was in the pagoda when you were when you were in the middle of that 40 laps. How the hell did you get in there? You know, I'm an actor. I pretend to be important. And Doug was was there and I ran into him and he was he was about as nervous a fellow as I've ever seen, like a stepfather. And then it was just but it really was like the whole place was so, you know, behind you. And it's because you're a good dude, you know, not just being a local guy. You're a good dude, as far as I know. Anyway, I think you need to win this thing. That's the goal. That's that is why we show up on Sundays. Last question. Any particular day of show, if you will, prep anything you don't do? No coffee? Light breakfast, no breakfast? Well, the race is too early to have lunch. So you just have a bit of a breakfast and maybe a little snack before before the race. But there's no real crazy tradition. I like going over the snake pit every morning. That's something that I've done as a bit of a tradition to see what's going on over there. The Schroeder production group, Chris Schroeder and Ashley Brown over there, who put the stage up and do all the production over there. They're great friends of mine and they're awesome people. And they do a great job putting that on every year. So I like going over there. And it's like about a 15, 20 minute window, 25 minutes. I want to meet Shaq. That would be cool. Oh, is he performing? He's performing. Is he legit? Is he like DJ Diesel, baby? Have you seen him before? Is he legit at all? Or is it a name? I assume it's awesome. I assume he puts on a great show because after many years of being an elite athlete, I'm sure he knows how to party. That's kind of what I like to do. And I enjoy it and just to just enjoy it with my family and friends. Connor Daly. Thanks, Connor. Thank you, guys. Give my best to your dad. I'm a huge fan. Thank you. My name is Chris Spangel. We are here with Drew Powell and we are talking to David Maloukas, who is the driver of the number 18 Dalecoin racing car. Tell us about your month of May so far. It's been unexpected, exciting. Well, kind of what we expected, but not really. We were expecting to come in to unload with a bit of a quicker car. You know, it's looking at Dalecoin's history, the car we had last year. And unfortunately, this season, it's been a bit of a struggle. We unloaded and we're like, oh, we got work to do. And we managed to find some of a race car qualifying came. Very tough day. Probably the most stressful day in my racing career. You know, we were struggling to, you know, not get bumped. Struggling to try to make it out of the last chance. But thankfully, you know, towards the end of the day, perseverance, a little bit of hope, we managed to put everything together and actually qualify 23rd, which we were just jumping. We were like, if you see our team, we look like we won pole. Like we were so we were more excited than the McLaren team actually getting but we were like, yeah, jumping through the roof. Yeah, when you're sitting there watching those cars go out and you say it's stressful, like what could you for those of us who've never been in that position, what would you liken that to? Like that that feeling of just watching other cars and you're just sitting there just waiting on your future. Yeah, I mean, the way qualifying day works, we have the we have the one run. So, you know, you come in with that run and we were right on the precipice of being in the last chance, which was from 30th onwards. And so we were always in that bubble zone is what they call it. And you always have to wait on the other people that are in last chance to go and do their laps. And because they are in last chance, they can go in lane one and lane one obviously deletes your time. But since they're in last chance anyways, it doesn't matter. You might as well just delete it and just keep going. So you're just kind of watching the board. And then as soon as they hit it, now you go in lane one and try to go again. And because you're trying to push the limit of the car so much, everything's on edge. So as a driver, you're out there and it's not an easy four laps. You are playing with the car at 240 miles an hour going sideways. And it is the most stressful four laps you can possibly do. And obviously from Honda's side, you're pushing the engine as much as you can. So you have to be on top of engine maps, on top of changes. So there's a lot going on for those four laps. And although it's only four laps, it is probably the longest four laps I've ever done. It feels like forever. But yeah, there's so much going on. And that's kind of why it's very stressful. You know, Drew, he has blue eyes, too. Hey, this is going on Tom's theory. Look, so Tom, the host of the show, we've realized today, talking to the drivers, that 80 % of you guys, the three that you missed all had blue eyes, too. So do you think there's some sort of working theory? Maybe there's a driving gene that's maybe of blue eyes. I mean, Jody, what color do you have blue eyes? The green? No, she can never be a driver, I don't think. That's crazy. So, wow. It's one of those things where I thought Tom was being Tom and like, okay, bro. But then everybody kept coming. Yeah. With the exception of the Brazilians and the Mexicans and the Japanese. Like, everybody else has blue eyes. So now I'm like, wait a minute. We're going

"In the conference hall at the bars around how long she's likely to survive? Yeah, officially she has a 12 month grace period, that's under the rules of this backbench 1922 committee, unofficially they can change the rules at any point. And if they see that she continues to lose very badly in the polls to labor, labor leader Keir Starmer, then, you know, what they won't have any hesitation in removing her. The problem is that the election is fairly close, you know, we're looking at a spring 24 election. That's really not very long to get a new leader in place and replace it. And you're basically it's the choice between going into election that you know you're going to lose until this, or replacing her with a new leader, and that's a huge, huge gamble, and it's whether it's whether they've given up or whether they really want to really fight at the next election. Just very briefly, before we let you go, the market reaction. How closely do you think investors are going to be watching this speech given that need to rebuild credibility? Yeah, she's going to have to show that she really sticks to her guns that she's very serious about her economic plan that there are no more U turns. They want they want to know that she's staying the course that she that she is credible. But I think if you compare this to labor's conference last week, where we saw businesses flock to see Keir Starmer in his top team, you know, investors wanted to meet him and they saw him as somebody responsible. The party of sound money that is not what she's projecting here. Fascinating that that division between the response to labor versus the response to the Conservative Party, which of course traditionally would have posted themselves at the home of UK business. Emily Ashton fantastic as ever on the ground here at the Conservative Party conference the UK and Bloomberg's UK government reporter ahead of that important speech from the prime minister Caroline. Thank you so much, Tom Mackenzie and Emily Ashton live in Birmingham there. Well, of course we will bring you that speech by Liz trust that will take place around 11 a.m.. It's going to be prefaced by a number of others, including the party chairman Jake berry. At a very, very difficult time. I mean, I was speaking to the justice minister Rachel maclean yesterday. She was saying that there needs to be a sense of approach to the public finances. She was again trying to dampen down the speculation around whether there would be any changes to benefits or not saying that the government is still in the process of making these decisions, but unfortunately the time pressure is now on the government to come up with the answers that the chance is still sticking to the 23rd of November as the date for when he's going to give further details on the tax and spending plans. Yeah, well, the question over benefits is interesting and we were talking to Ashley Brown and the program yesterday as well. The MPE and he was saying that there is this the everyone tried to walk this very careful line by saying that we're not going to recklessly spend public money, but at the same time we have to balance people who need it most, getting the help that they need. But the question is on a day that we're looking at a rail strike as well. The argument a lot of Tories are making is that, you know, how do you increase benefits at a time when employees aren't getting anything similar in terms of pay rises either. Yeah, I mean, that's difficult argument to make. Do you know how much universal credit is the allowance? I don't. I'll give you the figure. It is, the standard maximum allowance for a single person over the age of 25 is 334 pounds and 91 pence. Per month. Yikes. Yeah, so that is the amount of money that's being discussed. So yeah, we've got lots more though to come, of course, around the government, their tax and spending plans. What it means for business more importantly because the CBI's vice president, lord Bill and Moyer will be joining us in just a moment. It is just gone 9 30 here in the City of London. Good morning to you if you're just joining us, this is Bloomberg daybreak, Europe. I'm Stephen Carol. And I'm Caroline Herbert, welcome to the program this morning, so we're about an hour and a half away from the prime messel is just giving her keynote address to the conference in Birmingham on a day as you mentioned of rail strikes, and also a day where in the markets that things are actually turned rather negative. We had a couple of days of big Wall Street valleys, European stock rallies too, that all seems to have turned around today. Yeah, at the moment, we see the stock 600 down by 9 tenths of 1%, the FTSE now down. Further into negative territory down 1.4%, the FTSE may have been Milan is down by 1.6%. All of these markets are fairly significant gains yesterday on speculation around whether the drop in job openings in the U.S. might lead to a sort of pivot in the Federal Reserve and what it's doing in terms of rate hikes. The S&P E minis are 1% lower now this error that markets are 3% gain yesterday, though, and the sell off and bond markets is continuing the German ten year yield 8 basis points higher this morning, one spot 95, the Bloomberg dollar spot index, four tenths stronger, Sterling is trading just under $1 and 14 cents on cable. And now to our top stories, Elon Musk is revived his bid for

"Guys 23 to 30% off today at deals dot com. Live. Look, Lucas Oil Stadium, which will host the Colts and the Rams. Come this weekend 71 degrees. It's sort of like a midday temperature out there right now. Yeah, walked out early this morning and just has that kind of late summer muggy feel about last week. When we were 15 degrees cooler. We were saying things like crisp and who? I I mean, I think by Friday morning we're talking numbers in the forties in some spots, right? I mean, this is September ebbs and flows. Sherry Transitional month. Um Nineties. Don't hang around long. Although we've had kind of three days on a row of near 90 degree heat, there is some relief inside. Unfortunately, it comes to the price of maybe some stronger storms this evening, So we have to kind of keep an eye on that. There's a lot of dry time here during the day, though, so that's the good news and no problems. You're making way off to work here for this morning. We're kind of hovering right around 70 degrees for Wayne Indy. Bloomington, Evansville, Low mid seventies and some spots Dewpoints mid upper sixties That's pretty juicy for this time of morning and in this part of September. It is pretty human, and that's going to help to kind of drive. Some of these thunderstorms are heading our way later on into the day. Local view of storm tracker Clean sweep. I think a lot of the day is going to be pretty quiet here. We do have a cold front that's now to our West. West of the Mississippi River. There's not much action alongside that cold front. It will arrive by later this afternoon later this evening, and that will be the trigger for showers and thunderstorms at the bus stop this morning. No weather related issues will be in the lower seventies. Between now and eight o'clock We were at 72 right now It's a south wind at nine MPH statewide temperatures for wing at 68 warm spots up in months at 75. Lafayette at 72, along with terror Hope, Bloomington, You are sitting Met 71 degrees Hot day dry day on top 82 at noon. I'm going with a high of 88. We had 87 yesterday. I don't think we quite make it to 90 degrees, but we will be awfully close now. All eyes will be to this evening when the storms arrive. Along that cold front. Bull's eye will be in northern Indiana Lafayette Co camo Fort Wayne South Bend, You are included in a slight risk for severe weather. Most of the rest of the state under a marginal risk that includes India, metro areas that's a step below. In both cases, wind is gonna be the primary concern. The tornado threat nearly zero There could be some hailstones mixed in with some of the stronger storms as well. Let's talk timetable here. No problems until probably around 567 o'clock. So when Ashley Brown is with you, she'll be tracking some of these storms starting to evolve in northern Indiana. That's at five o'clock. We'll see a broken line of storms. When I say broken, that means not everybody is going to see. Rain and storms. That line will move into the metro area. We think probably between nine and midnight tonight and then that line will kind of stall out down to the South. So that will provide with some scattered rain chances overnight into early tomorrow morning for the southern third of the state, and then our rain chances kind of linger around. Mainly showers. For much of your Wednesday south of I 70 so we're going to keep with rain chance at any point during the day. I think better rain chances, especially past the morning hours will be south of Indianapolis near 70. So another warm start tomorrow morning, but we don't really warm up much lower seventies at noon. We'll finish with highs into the middle seventies later in the afternoon. This cool down does not last long. It will be a bit more refreshing by tomorrow afternoon. But we bounced back to 82 on Thursday and mid eighties for Friday and possibly sneaking into the upper eighties as we head into the weekend. Peterman brothers, heating and cooling a day forecast not many rain chances past tonight as well and again hot for the weekend, so much so that we may not be able to have that roof and window open again for Sunday. Because of that heat. We're going with highs near 90 for Sunday to wrap up the weekend and not much cooler as we open up the work week, Monday and Tuesday with just scattered rain chance for Tuesday highs back into the mid eighties. Steph thanks markets about 5 52 for those getting into work this morning. We're not seeing a whole lot of issues in terms of our drive quite yet. It is still early on as we approach six o'clock. South side. I 4 65 year, Emerson Avenue looks great for East and West bound commuters along the interstate. The exit ramp to hop on to the interstate this morning.

The well, the news in Tennessee the real quick, just I mean, massive flooding Their hammer in Middle Tennessee has been devastating. So far. 22 confirmed dead 50 plus missing. Uh, this was as a result of 17 inches of rain. Falling in the county in less than 24 hours, According to the National Weather Service. Emergency crews have been searching door to door after the flooding took down. Lot of the cell phone towers. The roads were closed. This was just a horrific, horrific story. And Nige the thing that really kind of upsets me and again, there's a special spot in Tennessee. In my heart. We go down there every year to like the pigeon Forge Gatlinburg area. If you watch the weather Channel this weekend, it was wall to wall coverage of this. Pissy little tropical storm in New York that was going up and down the coast. You know, with a gust, Maybe just a gust of 60. Maybe 70 MPH. Now I know those storms can do some damage. They completely neglected what was going on in Tennessee because they might get a little rain up in the Eastern Seaboard Sunday over the weekend job, But one of the things job I had another press conference over the weekend. One of things, he said was, if you have to hunker down if you have to get away from the hurricane. Make sure you wear a mask. Believe me sad. What? What if you have to go indoors for the hurricane? Where a mask. Thanks for the reminder, Prez. Well, the C D. C on top of that the CDC put out some step by step things you can do to prepare for a hurricane. And one of the things was get vaccinated. No. Well, how is that? Why is that getting prepared for hurricane? I have no idea. None whatsoever. So if I'm vaccinated, I can stand outside. My house is immune to all the flooding, the wind damage and all that kind of stuff. Is that what they're telling me if I'm getting ready for hurricane getting vaccinated is probably about 50th on the list of things I need to do. Right board up your windows. If you're gonna stay put. Fill up your bathtub with water stuck up a dry goods, non perishable items. Uh, you know, maybe if you got a generator fire that up that's getting vaccinated is not on the list. In terms of protocol for a hurricane. It's not going to be like The Simpsons where the severe weather goes around Ned Flanders house. He hits homers House. It doesn't really work that way. My name is Nigel Jason Hammer is here. Rod Kendall from the mark and Rob show joining us to go off the rails July. First. Finally, zero covid restrictions We should all give, Hogg said. And Kane a nice pat on the back a nice little. Golf clap. Hey, the Pacers, Thank Hogsett and Kane Jimmer say thank Hogg said and came for their steadfastness throughout this whole ordeal. I'm wondering, Rob, if you think we'll get the same kind of Thank you the same kind of reception from Penske and Miles and the people at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Well, first of all, I'd like to thank garage doors of Indianapolis because they are our sponsor. Jimmer say it's easy for him to thank, Hogg said. And Kane because he doesn't have to pay rent on that stadium. We do it. The people who hawks Kane put out of work, so it's easy for millionaire guy to go. Oh, you did such a wonderful job. I'm gonna go stay in my multibillion dollar stadium. Give me a break on the hog said and Kane are what they did. The past year was borderline criminal. It was gross. It was disgusting. Working in cahoots with Governor Holcomb, they shall be ashamed of themselves. Yes, I just hammer If I'm Penske and Miles and people, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway just a month ago, they were limited capacity for the 8500 and 34 of 40%. And now what changed After a month does McCain and Hawks had say? Oh, no, Everybody can patent pack them all in no mask. Did we reach the 50% vaccination rate? Because I was told we couldn't move forward until we got 50% exasperated. I would just be just beside myself if I will people running Indianapolis Motor Speedway when a month later. You told me 30 days ago. I couldn't fill this place up and make a profit. Make enough money. There was a handful of covid. Um, uh, infections that came out of the Indy 500 now, 30 days later. Rob is magically everything's gone. Everything's open. Well, they ran out of They just literally ran this thing. I mean, think about this. If I'd have told you guys January 2020 what was going to happen over the over the past 15 months from March until June, you wouldn't have believed it. They ran this thing a lot longer than they could. And they realized the end of the road is, people would lose their minds if they didn't have. Indianapolis Colts football. They can get away with it at the track because a lot of people are outsiders. They still could justify every single dollars 125,000 people there. They know the breaking point when every other NFL team was going to have full capacity they had to give in, and you can't give in until you can have football and not open. Everything else back up. They just they. It's like playing checkers moving the checker on the checkerboard. When you've got one king and the others guys got seven. You can only move it so often and you run out of moves and how much of this was The folks that go to the Colts and Pacers games. There's a good chunk of those folks who vote Democrat who are hogs that voters who elect these super liberal members of the City County Council..

But we can't stop talking about him because you need to highlight exactly what's going on in this city. I'm Nigel chasing Amour is here. Other child was shot inside a home on the Northeast side early this morning, stray bullets coming from the outside entering the home and hitting a four year old child, Amor. This was just after one A.m. officers were called out to the 9700 block of East 42nd Street between post and Mid Hoffer and there was a report of a person shot. Which, unfortunately in today's Indianapolis night, that's not uncommon. A lot of these friends that we have in law enforcement say, Yeah, it's kind of a war zone out there. For the second time in a week. We're talking about a child that was inside of a house doing everything right? And still stray bullet comes in and hits a child. This is a four year old now the good news. Is that the child's going to be okay was shot in the leg. Stable condition taken to Riley. Andre thing seems like it's going to be okay. That wasn't the case last week, and that story last week just breaks my heart because your old Yes, staying up late playing video games at Grandma's house. That's something that I used to do when I was a kid. You don't stay up late at my grandma's house and whether it was games or watching TV. Whatever you're doing everything right? You're with family members. And because lunatics are outside stray bullets are coming in that 12 year old lost his life. What's sad. Still have no info on a possible suspect. So whoever has done both of these shootings, Nige, they're still out there somewhere code of silence. Huge problem when it comes to this sort of thing. People always want toe. I don't know what the right word is. Defend these people. They're afraid to rat them out because they feel like snitches get stitches. And if somebody finds out who ratted somebody out, they're going to get shot and killed on the back end. I mean, I hate that this is Indianapolis. We're talking about. We're not talking about like This neighborhood and boys in the hood in Compton. This is Indianapolis and 2021. This is ridiculous. This was a local community activist this past Friday. We played this sound, but I think it's worthy of playing it again, talking about how they're sick and tired of being Sick and tired on the east side on Don't be half of the community and everybody is standing behind.
