Dan Schwartzman is in the Bloomberg Newsroom. Thanks for watching. Quiet after an incredibly bizarre and hectic weekend, I think to say the least, Wagner mercenary forces have now pulled out of the city of Rostov after they took control early Saturday really without a fight. Wagner boss and Russian oligarch Evgeny Prigozin accepting a deal which was brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. And that deal is to Russia leave and head to Belarus with all charges being dropped against him and Wagner soldiers for treason. A column of Wagner armored vehicles had reportedly advanced within 125 miles of Moscow before they abruptly stopped and turned around. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on ABC's This Week says that Putin really is no better than Vladimir Putin. Just like Putin, he's been responsible for horrible brutality in Ukraine against innocent Ukrainian civilians in country after country. in Africa where Wagner is present and wherever it's present death and destruction and exploitation follows. Blinken was speaking to ABC's This Week. The week. According to British security sources speaking to the Telegraph, Prigozin called off his military advance towards Moscow after Russia's intelligence services threatened harm to the families of Wagner leaders. The analysis also said that the size of the Wagner mercenary forces stood at only around 8000 troops and not the 25000 as Prigozin has advertised. Sources say the Kremlin is likely to try to incorporate the remaining Wagner soldiers into its military after potentially taking out leaders. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk telling fans that over 1000 changes have now been made to its Starship vehicle this following its first test launch, which was back in April. According to Musk, investment in the Starship project is expected to be near $3 billion this year. The company hopes that its next generation rocket is going to be able to carry first cargo, then even people, deep to space destinations such as the Mars and the Moon. During the first launch of Starship, the vehicle did suffer multiple engine failures during its climb after having successfully cleared the launchpad. Musk talked about his expectations. This year, if things go well and we don't have much failure, fuck on wood, SpaceX will put approximately 80 % of all Earth payload to orbit. China will put approximately 10%, I think just over 10%, and then the rest of the world will do about, I don't know, 8 or 9%. So, you know, this year, if our luck holds, we'll do 80 % of Earth -master orbit. That's the key metric. Musk was speaking to Bloomberg's Ashlee Vance. History was made in women's golf, Ronin Yin becoming just the second woman Chinese to ever win a major, beating Japan's Yuka Saso by one stroke at the KPMG Women's LPGA Championship in Springfield, New Jersey. "Hey paul how are you doing. Well thank you. i just want to tell you you. Probably one of the most thorough shows to the he swept kratz. I'm they have to send you a shield because of all the people call and spears arrows that but anyway to talk about yeah. No i appreciate you saying that. Go go right ahead i is. There was a gentleman on your show about tennessee. Talking about alcohol and I don't think he really what he was talking about. Because last year oklahoma they had like jury defensive line that i team line and got suspended because of what they did in the bowl game the previous year. So they were out. I don't know how many days but if they had a bed and those games oklahoma's record would probably be a little bit different and another thing. Is the gentleman as snow were hypoc from. I mean pockets from oklahoma. Thank goodness I don't think he realizes how good oklahoma is. They're a saucy team coming in the sec. And glad Be great trust to have them. Next thing i want to talk about. Is this realignment Probably the reason why they didn't fight the big twelve those because of texas and oklahoma still being indyk. Twelve months that Once they come to the sec. It's just gonna be Following the money it's gotta be wherever they broker the best meal. So i guess the acc there with espn and i'm not sure What who else is nbc. Or cbs fox. But you know it's going to depend on what team they align with. It's going to get the best deal. That's basically what i think's going to happen after all this done but the right now it's it's you know it's already said stone as far as this year. So what are your thoughts about one of the money so to speak. Yeah i mean. I know it's cliche but it. It really is true and i mean you would think there's enough money for everyone but there's never enough money. I mean that's the story of of capitalism but in this case i mean this. This is what we saw. Today i think is really unfortunate. And i know that some people are gonna go. Will you know the sec. Started at all. But i really. I would argue. They didn't They they did what anyone else would have done. i would like to see more collaboration. We're getting less and and you know. Some of the statements. Today were were inherently disingenuous. But you know you come to expect that there. There's really just no and that's what troubled me if you're gonna spend all this time and get all these people together and make a point. They really never. Did you know what sand from. What from your shows. The fact that you know oklahoma and texas. They went to fox and they said. Let's let's package deal. It just didn't meet their expectations and and they knew that they came to the sec. Their purse would be substantially better. Can't blame universities for that. It's it's just all part of you know what's going to help when you start talking today about gender equity and and all these issues that really are germane to what this is about. This is about television revenue. And they i mean if they had shown up today and said okay. Well here here here. Here are ten games we're scheduling for the next five years. At least we would have had something to bite into. They didn't offer that because they can't there's too many contracts out there right now they don't even have a sign contract right and that's my next point All these you know basically what these guys do these year versus doing reverse auction you know with these hotels networks. Don't just line up with one you know. Just say what. What's the best offer you guys can do. And here's our live with our The university's give us your best shot. You know 'cause. I was an engineer with walmart. S when we designed an application for suppliers where we did reverse auction. That's the reason why Caught shrum that company or pretty cheap because they get the best price. Well that's the same thing with the university's There's just all they're trying to do is just to spend a little deeper to get a little more out of. That's all thank you very much for the call. Riches up next in virginia hillerich. Oh can you hear me paul. Yes i can. Thank you outstanding. Pollock cheap question paul one. I know that you graduated from the him. Versa tennessee in europe. Trial pro found here but But i wanna know is if you received an honorary degree from the university of alabama. That's my first question. My second question is how do you feel that the texas and fight nagy's going to do this year. I think jimbo is gonna get nick this year. That's my personal opinion. And by the way just to set the record straight on sudden texas and turkey them has had a robbery that is older than texas. And oklahoma is about as big in this great state. sexist as a alabama over with that said. I believe that you may know haven't been down to texas area. Now that we are the only school that has solved versity hordes off in our fight song which makes it all that much more rare because turkey only stays greater will beat texas. We'll rich yeah. I i agree with you. I think the texas am texas rory We'll be spectacular again as far as the honorary degree. I do not have one. Hell should do something about that following new before the four them ever got into the sec. In almost tell you you know you you do right by that school. It's like, didn't we get 20 seasons of that with keeping up with the Kardashians? I mean, I never saw one single episode of keeping up with the Kardashians. I am proud to say that that I never watch. I don't think I've ever seen an episode in its entirety. But I have to admit tuning in for as long as I could deal and then I had to change it. Oh, gosh, you know, with the pandemic kind of Waning and people are getting back to what they called normal. Bachelor and bachelorette parties are even crazier than they were pre pandemic. And according to a survey by wedding wire, they asked more than 600 men and women and found that bachelor and bachelorette parties are now averaging three days. Three days. Wow. A lot can go wrong in three days. Not kidding. I mean, my bachelor party was me and my my best man, Ray and our friend Jimmy and we went tubing. And then we ended up a galaxy billiard playing Ping pong. Awesome. Yeah, it was a blast. And then we ended up in some place down in the river Walk Billy Marbles. You remember that? I don't know. It was a club down there. I did not want to go. But they drugged me there and I don't know what time it was, but I I just hope I said Look, you guys take me home. I'm gonna call Cindy to come Get me done. I'm through. I'm finished. That's you know, bread. Didn't want to have a bachelor party and like, Are you sure he said no, No, I don't want to do it because knowing my friends, they'll probably go the whole strip around. And that's just not me. And I'm like, no. This is going to make me look bad. You should have some kind of magic as I've already had My strippers. Come on. No, no, I I was at the Hill walking Tara Hill Country Resort. That's a good point. I have a batch reporting. Absolutely. They had some nice restaurants, she said. I got married in July. So tubing was just natural thing for us. We went on the short, right? We didn't want to spend all day out there. Good times. And then we played ping Pong at the galaxy billiard out there on parent Bible for probably about three hours. We had a tournament going on. It was a blast, man. And this is before uber and left. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. All I know is I was not driving. There you go. That's all I know. Okay. "Talk about that. What what's going on with that So my mom's been spiritual person my whole life and she said that she heard that i would be poet in that i would also be an attorney which is another conversation for another day I think that i was called to justice. I don't know if i'm called to be an attorney but we'll see And so as a kid. I rejected it largely. Has i don't want to do any of this. And then suddenly. I recognize that poetry was for me first and then i thought whoa if it works something out in me than couldn't work something out and other people and had passed lay hands on me and say you'll touched the nation's you'll speak to nations and again went home. Rejected it in just like. I'd say the poem i went home and put that back where it went and then suddenly i did feel like it. You know i got my start in competition and i developed audience that way And then beyond that. I recognize that that audience wanted to come with me that where we were going right as my cuss from teenager to adulthood. That's when i started realizing whom audience wasn't who i was writing for an. But i just feel i feel so responsible to be a poet to be a person who speaks people. Listen because they are people who speak in people. Don't listen and i feel like it's my job to take this gift. Because i do believe our gifts come without repentance biblical. That are gifts. Come with that. We're giving these things and you don't have to do anything with them if you don't want to. You know i may not be an obligation but it is a thing that i choose to do wholeheartedly say yes to so i don't i do the work in the world and hope that people will here at ambi changed by feel the same way about the calling you know. I don't know that. I've ever named it the call because i feel afraid to say those words but i definitely i also have felt that this is what i was given to do. I feel like if i wasn't doing poetry. I would be just zombie walking around here. You know there would be nothing igniting my spirit any way man. Ask you something ways. Yeah why why have you been afraid to call it. The call. I think putting the words the call to make it feel like i don't know i'm some sort of like superhero kind of thing. You know what. I mean like you know. Pastors is like well. I've been called like well. Great i'm so glad that you've been calling. What does that mean to be called. Yeah this kind of situation. Yeah i think. I just never really felt what i'll say is this. I feel empowered. Now that i'm hearing you say it was the call. I'm like okay. Well maybe it's called his house on that line to the main line as they say. Tell them what you long. That's right and i'm sure my mom. Also what she. She didn't prophecies. That's not her particular ministry she She does break out into sermon randomly. That's just you know what she does. She wouldn't call it a sermon. She would just say. I'm just talking. The lord has given me the worst say but she you know she taught us. You know we're all giving something and we have to do something with that thing you know. It wasn't calling. I'm officially i was called world. Yeah i was called to do this. This is my colleagues my purpose. And i'm so glad to be walking in it. Thank you for that. Permission ashley to call it that So i just have a couple more questions for you. I zero in on you talking about your mom and i was thinking about the role of parents in the life of an artist. I know for me. I didn't realize that some parents didn't support their kids being earnest. Because i was spoiled by my own parents being like. Oh yeah you know what you gotta do. I mean they were always very clear. You have to be able to feed yourself though like do all this art like work in lights on okay and so when i started to meet other students in my high school but also in college in otherwise i learned that your dreams can be totally killed murdered if your parents saying like. That's not worthwhile. Don't do that. So i guess i'm just kind of opening a up to talk about how your your mom especially. I guess who saw this for you. What did that need for you as a young person. I know you rejected it. Yeah but it meant a lot. She and my father. Both my dad was a bass player and he actually played bass guitar on my first fokin. Were record so to have two parents. My mom's a singer tab to parents who were artistically inclined certainly made it easier it's invaluable to have a mom that will drop you off at coachee slam and a dad that pick you up and a mom that help you buy an outfit for your first competition or you know a mom that will make all her friends by a copy. Whatever you've been published in or whatever book you sell and to help you set up you know it's the thing that keeps beyond that may be on. Take you know. She had to parents who were willing to invest in her artistic business which is the largest artistic business now and that is something that you can't move on but i'll say this what my mom found. Though because my mom's parents were very focused on survivals but she was able to find a teacher who helps cultivated her art. And so i've do find lot of kids I always call them my kids. I coach poetry slam. And they say you know. My mom is an intuit as an understanding. I think poetry's weird and so even if it's not our parents to find somebody who gets it and somebody who can mentor and cultivate and say yes that is it is. What's going to keep the arts going. I mean grown people who you know they say. I was a poet until my teacher told me. I wasn't good until i realized they was real world. Now mike what a world to be where poetry is a real world and a valuable career path So yes so grateful for my mom who still to this day. If i get a trophy or like the poetry magazine i think i ordered fifteen and twelve. Or she's probably going to be like look at this and even still so that. That is something that i could never put a price tag on while i love that so much. Y'all gonna make our sales go up so much for that amazing support. That support means everything. And i've had people tell me you know your work as a gimmick everything you're doing is not worthwhile and that like it stopped me but it didn't completely stop me because i had other people to support me and tell me like this supposed to keep doing that. Keep doing it. But some people don't have that you know and even as black people more specifically it can be hard to venture out into art sometimes because again we are here to survive as black people. We don't always have the luxury of well let me dabble in a little art. You know we need to feed ourselves. Make sure we're not about why is considered a luxury. That's what i wanna scream from the top of the wreck yeah And so if you are listening to this And you have been wounded in that place Hopefully you hear this and know that your work is valuable that your stories are valuable. It's never too late to heal. That.

"That's what pushes us or i think i think so for sure and we really need it. We need to speak that kind of into each other. I don't even want to say especially now especially always you know especially right because i mean it's definitely hard You know. I didn't even realize the toll that it has taken on my body to be out here doing poetry until the pandemic and i wasn't like out doing i'm kinda back online out here but you see what i'm saying like i did. Yeah i need to be year off. I didn't know i needed it until i got it. I toured four years straight twenty six almost five years twenty six to turn thirty one right before the pandemic and I was just torn hundreds of colleges in university. Oh wow hundreds of colleges hundred ashley to suddenly be home in our line of course as difficult as a performer. Because you're used to that in person in the snaps. And i contact but i my body is grateful that we have been at home resting. Wow mean here i am. You know struggling with my. And i am not as deep and i was struggling. I can't even imagine lake. How were you even able to keep afloat doing all of that The reality is as i had doctors. Like honestly i would. I would be home. And sometimes i'd have somebody pick me up from the airport and take me straight to the doctor. Like i had a guy and bronchitis on the road like like. I was sick but i was doing it one because because of the places that i went so my primary market is liberal arts colleges which are in little towns you may not get to see a black girl poet just on an average friday night like you can and atlanta or even some parts of alabama chicago So i feel you know almost like dr king traveling in performance. You know doing those sermons in those little towns in those little son downtown. So i fell a call to do that. I felt. i'll call to suggest better myself and to see what places and what people i could touch so that ultimate calling kept me going and i don't know that i would have stop if i if i hadn't been forced to and Yeah i had to learn how to get on a vitamin regimen. You know. I've been asthma. Free since i haven't been towards like it really you know planes. Trains automobiles before mask mandates. Just out here in the street so it's absolutely important that you think about it and and we see it you know. Even the larger artists almost every artist has has to make that dreaded post on vocal risks. I can't do this this. This is hard so you know as much as you think about saying your favorite artists and looking forward to seeing your favorite artists also think that our bodies have to carry us from place to place and as artists who are listening. Be gentle with your so. Yeah i mean it's a hard lesson to learn especially always like i said but i'm just thinking about these last few years i won't even say days you don't really have a day off from it. I mean for me like it can be hard sometimes to even just get in front of my students and teach them things you know. i mean. i'm lucky that i'm able to teach with a social justice lens with my creative writing students just for example just yesterday we just so happen to be talking about patricia. Smith's black poured directly into the wound I hadn't planned that there would be a police murder of course But it was there you know. There's no escaping from it and that can wear on your body as well you know just having to exist knowing that there's all of these dangers out there and then you have to come to the reading and people want to see a show just the other day i was reading and i wasn't even gonna read about social justice as going to try to keep it light. I'm doing air. Quotes de yep air quotes a thing keeping it light. I mean everything is like first of all even our sorrows have light within them but when it was my time to read. I say you know what. I wasn't going to do this but i can't. I can't just sit here an act like this is not affecting me. I have to read the poem about what's going on like you're not gonna be here. Just happy on your way when this man has just been murdered. And i'm thinking about what am i gonna get killed in the streets. Am i going to get pulled over and never see my family again so for me. Self care has had to become a part of my life. Just because i'm constantly burdened. Not by being black in my hope. Nobody hears me say that. Because that's not. What i mean like is a privilege and honor a blessing absolutely. But it's the pressure that this country the society puts on blackness. That hurts like it painful to do it. We have to do. And so it's important for us. The storytellers poets. To be all right. You know we need to be able to keep telling these stories. Yes learn to rest. The work will always be there and so get fine people who share in lift with you. It's funny enough this week tuesday. I looked on the schedule. I was like this. School is in minnesota end up doing I was doing a workshop on balancing the scales and social justice to the people. Who are they are. That's what the work calls for us to go to those places that seem darkest Bring light and try to get people to be responsible citizens but you have to be responsible for you. I so sit down somewhere and so folks down somewhere right makes me miss. My grandmother alive who i've realized as of late was a poet. She didn't write me poetry at all. I don't even think she read poetry. She didn't finish elementary school. She was a sharecropper but she was a poet. She said these things you know the way that she told stories the way that she loved. There's a saying that she had my mom told me i never heard her say it but my mom said that she taught them. Don't start what you can't hold out to tell me because i'm out here doing too much. You know as we do. Yeah and when she said it. I said well that's just makes a lot of it. Seems it all seems so simple when you put it that way. How can i serve my people. If i'm not even able to like you know move to the world comfortably myself i just. I hope that we both can stick around long enough to do the work that we've been called to do it amen. I believe we will. Which brings me to this idea of a call. You said earlier that you felt called to do all this work you were talking about. You know being out in the streets. A la dr king you know in the trenches. Can you talk about that calling. But when do you think you felt the call and that terminology. The call like that is very very real inches so like.

"I really really had strong feelings for him. But like i knew i had to go through this whole journey before i could really give myself fully to him. And so that's where his patients came in but we dated for. Let's see just got married last august so you know it was two thousand seventeen so i mean we dated for a good minute and it was really good for us. He moved into my house For about a year before we got married which also amazing. Yeah just be able to experience. You know that you know poppy just it. She was actually really hard on him for the first year. Like why it was. She worried she was not letting him. In how old was she at this point nine. He was actually at her first birthday. Oh wow always seem so light from again watching if you follow actually like seem so natural but really she was a little light. Existent i think you know. She didn't know she was how wine or whatever but dane had to work pretty hard animals winning over too late earned he earned a and it was worth it was worth. Their relationship is so beautiful now and she he literally i think is her favorite person like more so than me some and is the relationship true Like father daughter. Or is there kind of i mean again. She's so young so again you kind of set like how you want it to look and is it just i mean. I don't know what i'm asking. Is there a notion of paul. Dana definitely fully step into those shoes. And there's also a conversation very open about politics and she knows that she has her daddy paul who died and she has her daddy dane. Who's here and you know it's been interesting to explain and trying to explain to her what death means and what it means when your body stops working and how that works and it something that we've just had an age appropriate time like explained and as time goes on we'll explain more but dane is her dad and that's just that's it like he's her dad and she knows she's got her daddy paul and sometimes she's she'll say i miss my daddy paul you know and it's just it's it is gut wrenching but also i know that he probably hopefully can see her at and and hopefully she may be confused him at some points Dana so her he definitely stepped into that role. And it's so beautiful to witness. Yeah it is beautiful. You guys make a beautiful family all my gosh and we actually share a wedding anniversary. Really yes you do. I remember when i saw your avon. D m dana. Congratulations man You guys just are beautiful. Your wedding was beautiful. And you really have just created this charming and you seem so happy like you. Do you seem so happy. Midwife Ashlee Sourapas on the Stigma of Home Births
"Feel like our culture has it doesn't speak of birth. The way that birth is it doesn't teach women that they're powerful all like. Did you learn throughout your lifetime. That you're powerful amazing. Strong body could create life and bring forth life. And these aren't the things that we were taught growing up. These are the things that we're learning now. These are the things that we're learning to teach our children but that was not something that even our mothers and grandmothers have in the believe it was the eighteen. Hundreds there was a lot of lay midwives granny midwives traditional midwives who worked in the communities and took care of their births labor delivery. All of it was at home and then they started training. Obstetricians and these schools started pumping out to take care of women in the hospitals and they started marketing it so it became a very big marketed. Strategic thing of basically blasting the traditional midwives saying like don't birth with these women. They're dirty they have diseases or they're witches or whatever and then it was like birth in the shiny beautiful hospital where we will keep you safer and so there was this huge shift in the victorian age where women were like. Well why wouldn't i wanna give it. It's like the more prestigious way to give birth was in this clean sterile hospital quote unquote sterile hospital and so midwife became very ostracized and belittled and overtime went from one hundred percent births at home to less and less and less and less to now. We're like one point something percent. It's it's very interesting Tactic and i think now. We're seeing the swing because people are starting to waking up to them to themselves until waking up to their power and find what what they really do feel intrinsically. That they're meant to do with their bodies

"Weekend edition. If it's important to you, it's on and probably being mocked by the news junkie Johnson would somebody broke and needed only dead and gone looking marching song When I go, Just put death by rock and roll. Sure, 55 And I was wondering how many times you think they run through that halftime show. You know, Like how many times you think they practiced the halftime show with all the stuff that they have going on, I feel like a decent amount and probably not on site. You need one time on site, but they have like a practice facility or something Lot for sure. No. One Beyonce did hers a few years ago. They had like a behind the scenes thing, and it was like in a warehouse and everyone was You know, Practicing was probably even little sections to that was for marching band where you have a band in the band's about to go on tour, and they just run out like this big place, and they they like walk through everything that they're going to do before, and I'm pretty sure because they have to rent a big space to put the show on him and set up the stage and do the whole thing especially With tours that are heavy on like dance numbers, stuff like that. So I remember. I saw Britney Spears at Starbucks wants because she was in Orlando, and I'm pretty sure she was rehearsing her tour at one of the sound stages of Universal studio has got the big Area for that. There's also like convention halls or probably could do it, too. So there's not winging going on here. They probably dozens and dozens of times are doing front to back this entire performance. So they really minimize any kind of things that could go wrong. I mean, that's why I always think when I When I watched the Olympics and I see the opening ceremonies, and you see, like the huge groups of people playing music and all choreographed together, I could mean they must have spent months trying to work this out. And the weekend. I'm sure has been working on this for an incredibly long time because it's such a big production. And when I saw the photo was a weird photo for a couple of reasons it was J. Lo Behind the scenes last year. She was a performer right for last year's support from the block and Chiquita. So she and secure I believe are are in the tunnels underneath the stadium, and they're about to come out and they're surrounded by the whole crew. And the first thing you think it's like, Whoa, look at all these people without mass on and you realize that this was before all this nonsense really broke loose. And you look at them and you go. Can you even imagine the stress of that moment? We're about to go out and perform. And if we screw up, there's no net man. You're you're going to make a fool of yourself in front of hundreds of millions of people, not to mention if you screw up something bad, then that's gonna go doubly triply Viral Afterwards, a lot of the Super Bowl halftime performances have been They use a lot of backup. You know, they use a lot of I wanna wants a lip sinking but tracks the track so that in case anything goes down, you have producer DJ in the background. Just put that channel up a little bit more. One of those many people they've gone too. And they said, Hey, we would love do you love to have you performed at the Super Bowl and they go No, It's like too much stress. I wouldn't want to take that on that. Or maybe they want to take the high road and say, like, No, You know, we we would never fake a performance like this. Like, Remember, the Chili Peppers did like a guest spot. None of them even plugged in their guitars just to show everybody plays. Guitar has no record going into it. I remember one that always stuck out to me was when Michael Jackson did, and he did it incredible halftime show. Uh, at the time, it seemed like now it just seems weird and creepy, but because he did, like, heal the world and there was there was a card stunt in the stands where they showed, like Children holding hands all around the bowl, and he had Completely fake or completely turned off headset microphone on much like Britney Spears or Garth Brooks, would you sure? And then, when he went to address the crowd, actually, like using a live microphone, they handed him a microphone. I handed him a microphone. And he said, I love you Children is beautiful thing. Everything is great. And then he hands off to party at my hands. Many hands off the microphone in somebody like why use the one attached to your head and continues to lip sync into the fake microphone? Yeah, there's a lot of pressure that I wouldn't really blame somebody for lip sinking honestly, normally, I would like if I go pay to see you live. You're putting on a concert live, whether it's a stadium or arm or intimate show. I want to see you play it live, even if it's not exactly as it it sounded on the recording. But if I'm watching or from playing the Super Bowl, if I was in a band playing basketball, I would absolutely consider Not having to risk as many things. I didn't have to rip all the Ashlee Simpson is sure. Yeah, whatever I could rely on to make sure I didn't look like a fool. So lots of pressure as that momentum builds. Speaking of Ashley Simpson, did you see What? Her sister Jessica Simpson tweeted. When the whole subway thing came out, I saw that there was something other, but I didn't get the story. "Kelly Clarkson Trace Adkins asked listeners and part of our halftime show the FedEx Orange ball. Wow. Now that is not the first time that Ashley Simpson has butchered a performance. Remember, she went on Saturday night live and I believe Jude Law was the host, and he introduces Ashlee Simpson. The younger sister of Jessica Simpson, and she's ready to perform her hit song, but it's totally going to be a lips sing, but the vocals track starts to play starts to skip and she freezes up does like a hoedown dance and walks off the stage. Take a Listen. You're going to hear the vocal track. Begin way too early. And she never says a word Once again, Ashlee Simpson. On a Monday way She does a little ho dance and Dances off the stage. All right, so 16 years ago, the booing at the Orange Bowl again, Speaking of college Bowl games, congratulations, the ball state. Fighting Cardinals of Ball State won the first bowl game in their school history by knocking off unbeaten San Jose. And not so much for Indiana and Notre Dame over the weekend. Notre Dame a game that We kind of figured they have a hard time with against Alabama. You know, the Golden Dome, Ear's against the mobile homers and mobile homers again took him to the Wood shed, although Notre Dame did cover Indiana, though, if you're going to run all that trash talk if you're going to run your mouth about being in the lower tier bowl game You gotta beat up pretty bad old Miss team. But all in all, pretty solid year for the Hoosiers on this date 47 years ago, 1974. President Nixon refused to hand over the tape recordings and documents subpoenaed by the Senate Watergate committee. That was 47 years ago. And every single year since then, Carl Bernstein has said, this is bigger than Watergate. Whatever the big scandal of the moment wants, a squirrel could fart outside of my house and Carl Bernstein right now would say this is bigger than Watergate. Look out. That was 47 years ago and 22 years ago. 1999 Jesse the body Ventura. Was sworn in as Minnesota's 37th governor. Did four years until 2000 and three. Here's the thing about Jesse. He was calling out the media before it was cool. Jesse Ventura was yelling fake news long before Donald Trump wants Listen to this little back and forth. He did on the Larry King show. It was just even tour. It was Oliver Stone. It was I believe representative Connie Mack. They're having a big discussion. And listen to Jesse Ventura giving the media a bunch of crap before It kind of became mainstream. Because the key to Oliver's film is not Hugo Chavez. The key to this film is the lying manipulation of our mainstream media and how they flagrantly lied to us, and I'm a person that knows the experience. Well, he's seeing an independent. You tell me what happened all of our meat this type of when How about when our media used to be the fourth branch of government are media was there to be the check of watching the other three? But our media today mainstream is not that Larry. They are bought and sold. I'll give you samples when I was an independent governor in Minnesota. I wrote at my autobiography When I got in office, the mainstream media accused me of profiteering. From winning that office. Wait. Two months later, John McCain comes through on a book tour and they herald his book. And yet because I don't belong to these two parties, I chastised Yelling at the media. Given the media the business before it was mainstream before it was popular before it was cool. Jesse.
