"Welcome to highly questionable. I'm Dan Lead Guitar. I am hoping that they keep in that weird sound that. Pablo just made where he sort of restless and bored getting ready for our show. Today that's Tori and kinds. Let's get started. Does is general. Diffuse anxiety is Max. Scherzer tweet a bad sign for the baseball season. Okay you can read whatever you want from Max Scherzer on these tweets. In his words you can say. Is this Scott. Boris his client talking as Scott Boras. Trevor Bauer has alleged or is it sure is or regardless of what these words say. It's bleep off owners. It's we're GONNA come back to you with a different proposal and we don't care what this proposal said and what I would say to you. Is this sport more than any other would be in jeopardy because what do you always hear when football and basketball have labor stoppages? What you hear is the players can't withstand what the owners can but in baseball Max. Scherzer certainly can't increases. Health risks doesn't have to play baseball doesn't ever Sour Catholic is based always willing to take the public relations hint on a work stoppage fighting over money. And it's why they don't ever salary cap and why they have so much money. This is exactly what the union before this one stood for. They don't care that it's a pandemic. They want their money. It's not about love of the game and they're not going to let the owners get away with this because the owners have a real problem on their hands your when it comes to leverage ears where their franchises ten actually appreciate when those franchises never depreciate. We've been talking about this story for weeks now and all along I've been saying people are never going to side with the players at a time when so many people are struggling financially. It's just hard to empathize with these guys in their quibbles. Even if there are billionaire owners on the other side but I solve this tweet and the reaction to it Dan and changed my mind. I actually think sentiment on this issue has moved because the owners latest proposal was so transparently. Obnoxious they're are treating this like a normal negotiation where you play ball throw out. Some unrealistic offers. Hope to meet in the middle at the very last second but these are not normal times and it seems to me that they have succeeded. Not only inflaming the players to the point where it's no longer negotiation at all but they've also lost ground in the court of public opinion. The worst case scenario here is that this is exactly actually what the owners wanted to happen. They wanted the union to look at their offer and say this is so obviously unacceptable that now we must waste even more time moving backwards than resetting and starting from before zero so. That's the worst case. The best case though is also pretty embarrassing because even if you forget the whole greedy billionaires versus tone-deaf millionaires kind of tribalism that is overlaying any sort of labor negotiation. This is just a bad offer like pretending it's shark tank. You are out on this immediately and it's not even because maybe you WanNa see baseball really bad or you don't. It's just unreasonable. You're going to ask Mike Trout to give fourteen million dollars to already Merano. Even though Arte Moreno does it needed at all that just is a starter to begin with. And meanwhile the only person I think who is maybe sending back and laughing year is our man blake. Snell WHO's in his gamer chair and saying Bro. I was trying to tell you guys bro. I was right the entire time. Grow quiet and humble Baker Mayfield. More or less. This is exactly why it is that. I was rooting for the Cleveland Browns to win last year. Because I did not want this to happen. I did not want that position. So antiseptic guys giving you boring answers on purpose to swallow the one guy who came in with personality. If you added Ego and arrogance and winning you would have gotten more personality and said you turned him into another one of these drones. Burned by social media burned by public reaction. And now he doesn't want to be a distraction wasn't as good as he should have been last year. He probably the primary reason that that team underachieved and because he talked so much. You can't talk now. So he goes on to zoom meeting and purposely boring to tell you he's here to be silent again while on zoom meeting not being silent but the Dole equivalent but Dan. I have some good news for you. I don't think this strategy is going to work at all because the strategy seems to boil down as it so often does for athletes in an off season too. I figured out the problem. I'm going to become a totally different person. I'm going to rewire my entire brain in personality. This will be my redemption. And I don't buy it and I know this because I myself among twitter way too much just lurking pathetically and I always tell myself I am not going to engage in my mentions. I am not going to do it. But then someone offers up a tasty Colin Coward Morsel and you know instantaneous. Baker Mayfield is going to be back on his computer responding to that. Because the don't is too enticing. The pass up yeah. Having spent time with Baker the impression I got was he has been this way his entire life. I don't think one season of come up is going to change him. I think the personality the bravado will return the second he succeeds I think he is trying to modulate his public persona. Because of the backlash she received House didn't struggle because Baker. Mayfield talked trash. They struggle because of bad play calling an offensive line in shambles mechanic suffering as a result but people relished that struggle because he taught trash. I think he saw that but the second dose struggles go away and he performs. Well he'll go back to being his old self may not where you at all self conscious about starting your very thorough and excellent analysis with having spent time with Baker. She didn't just name drop there. Were you at all self conscious about that when you started the thought that way? No actually because unlike Pablo Tori will constantly draws on his journalistic experiences..

"You jerry put on man. It's pretty bad. We were talking about earlier about Philip Rivers. We ask key about it. He said that he has concerns about to his health. Going into the draft. The chargers pick six. Philip rivers is leaving. He's gone he may retire he may play somewhere else but he's not gonNA play for the chargers. The chargers have an interesting decision to make. Because they're picking six which is pretty high. The charges are good team. It's very unlikely that they'll pick this high again in the next several seasons. So do you use the opportunity to be in the. There's going to be a good quarterback available to burroughs. Probably gone on. Maybe two is maybe too isn't depending on his health Just in Herbert from Oregon is very highly regarded guy kind of prototypical six foot. Six big strong arm guy pretty athletic you can move move around so you have an opportunity to take one of these guys. Do you try to build on one of those new guys and hope that you get right or do you go kick the tires on Cam Newton. Do you go find someone else that can maybe give a little bit of snap crackle pop in the short term but Cam. You're not going to build a fan base here because Cam Newton's here for three or four seasons I would go the camera. I would go to camera for this purpose. We're suffice stadium located downtown Inglewood. Where Inglewood all good? I could Z.. Cam bringing people to Inglewood. 'cause he's got that thang cans got that swagger I get it his best days are probably behind find him. He's been injury prone but he has a certain degree of Hash. Say he does that. The franchise right now is just completely lacking even when they had Philip rivers a probable hall of fame quarterback they didn't have that thing in. La Cam Newton gives them that opportunity and by the way. If he's healthy gives you an opportunity to get some wins as well. Yeah the the see. That's the thing I keep coming back to. Camp certainly has some Unq- factor. He he does he. He's a star by any measurable thing. Philip rivers was a great quarterback. Philip rivers a super country. And it wasn't gonNA work here in La. It's just it's just not wasn't gonNA connect because the chargers aren't going to connect maybe cam can come in. But even if you get some eyeballs on it you go look at it and you're like okay. He's not yeah I get it. That's number one out there. He six foot six. He's strong. He's big he's doing some stuff. That's Kinda Fun if the team isn't on an upward trajectory if you're not getting better and starting to grow like for instance I just in Herbert to me would make me watch the chargers just because let's see what that is. Let's see if that turns into I. I know cameras. I know that he's kind of sexy but to let's see is he. Healthy is not healthy. These good all of a sudden you win like you know what I'm GonNa Start Paying attention to them Cam Newton in the short term firm. Yeah but beyond the camps cams best days are not only in the past there in the far far past at this point since his MVP season he has been been all over the map. Most of it bad very little of it good. I don't know if that gets me other than one. Quick look at it I mean look I I would much rather because you have to remember travis and you ruined a story from South Waukesha. ESPN DOT com the team. The franchise is struggling to sell its portions portions of seats and suites and just general interest and financial buzz. You might get pedestrian fans interested in going to see a charger game with a rookie. Who may have some pop? You definitely are going to get eyeballs for people when a here Cam Newton's come into town and if I'm a businessman who think that Cam Newton still has something left. I would much rather hang my head on a definitive marketing. Jim Who may be also give me some wins versus a marketing question mark and a player who's also a question. Mark Major League Baseball is toying around with the idea of a new playoff format. There's a Coupla the things about it that are kind of interesting about ten things about it. That are absolutely stupid. Break down coming up next in the morning show seven ten. ESPN mookie is a dodger. David price is dodger. Got Brothers and a House Jack. Peterson is dodger again. I guess we'll see moving him along So hot stove pitchers and catchers report a couple of days and then all of a sudden. We're GONNA have spring training baseball around the corner. Baseball fall is tinkering with the idea of messing with their playoff format. Okay let me let me let me start right here. They're going to know the price of beer. What you're talking about by the way greatest idea ever Arte Moreno Lord at a quarter and he was hailed as a hero good idea? Do you like the baseball at the way that it is and just very quickly. We're talking about wildcard hard teams. Go in and it's a one and done you win you advance. You go into the regular round where you're playing a best of five and if you lose your done you got the extra game. Do you like that format. I like the way it is right. Now Yeah Yeah like where we are right now. I do too because it number one I get that a one and done is not real base Bali for lack of a better word. It's it's not a one odds on a football game where let's go baseball's a series typically and it's a little bit of a a battle of attrition But I like it and I liked liked that there are only ten teams that get into Major League baseball playoffs. You get five from the Al Five from the NFL. This proposal would increase that significantly. We'd go from ten to fourteen so basically you're adding two more wild cards in each side. Okay I get the idea and I think one of the two good things things about this or that one. It would be good for baseball in their bottom line because it would create more playoff games and we liked that guy to get more money right and then the other part is we'd like playoffs just. Generally speaking playoffs are going to be more interesting to us than any regular season games so the more playoffs the better baseball has the fewest of any of the major leagues. Anyway so expanding. It doesn't make you out of the line with the rest of them. Everything else about this smacks like a terrible idea because because all elsie think about it think about the the second second wildcard team more often than not is right around five hundred in a little bit. Better Okay I. It's you're you're you're hovering somewhere around somewhere between eighty one and eighty five eighty six wins. That's usually where you are in there right about five hundred or a little bit better if I opened that up to four more teams. We're talking about teams. That are not only at five hundred probably well under it and this is where the trouble with baseball comes in the. Let's say the padres are the fourth wildcard team. Okay and the padres are now into a series where you have a one into anybody can beat anybody in one. Baseball game happens all the time. Now all of a sudden you go into a short series reese where all of a sudden you have a bad team genuinely below average team playing against arguably your best because part of the format as you get to pick who you WANNA play in in that first round. So the dodgers picked the padres because they they beat them nine out of twelve. During the regular season ord evidence that means nothing going into a short series. Now your very best teams could get clipped by a team that never should have been there in the first place. I'm looking at last. Season's final standings teams. That didn't make the playoffs. Cleveland Eveland with ninety three wins. Not Bad it's an aberration not bass Boston had eighty four winds. Now we're getting closer there. But here's the after you do Boston et drops way down. Now you're looking at the team with semi to win. Seventy eight wins to your point below. Low five hundred teams That's the in the. NL That see you cut off and you automatic. You've lost the New York mets and eighty six after that Tacoma talk to my the d backs yes so it's like we got the best. He's to your point already the way that things are set up right now. Now unless as you're saying if we open up this market or we open up the playoffs and all of a sudden now the New York mets and the Boston Red Sox postseason I could see just from a market perspective numbers shooting through. Maybe that's one of the things that got him going. Because of Tampa Bay the Tampa Bay rays going to keep winning ninety six games and and keep doing in the playoffs. They'RE GONNA kill my playoff numbers right from viewership right. I could see that being an and not only. Do they get in because if you get Boston and New York Great. That's a huge win. Yep what if if you get Seattle and San Diego. What have you get Kansas City and Tampa? I've got good ribs okay. But now the sudden you're bringing in teams that are not appealing nationally and over the course of six months season one hundred and sixty games of the royals and the mariners get in there really good. I'm interested in that. They got in because they won ninety five a game. They got in because somebody's having an EP caliber season. They got in because somebody is a CY young candidate. They didn't get in because they were a little bit better than the next. Not very good team. And all of a sudden you get a chance to beat a guy in a one and done situation weaves the shoes the dodgers. Let's say the dodgers have this thing setup and they choose who's the pot in the choosing part is weird too because it just like you're saying I think you're awful right right and that's going to add a whole. I know it's good TV. I know what they're going for. They're trying to bring some sort of reality television component to the selection process. It you WanNa make baseball fun. Let the guys have fun. That would help. That would help. Let them show some personality. Let's get rid of all these stupid unwritten rules of baseball. That doesn't allow you like point at a guy but I got you or your home. Run or Heaven Forbid you flip your Bat Soliloquy aggressively. You want baseball to be fun. Don't do these little mini mook sort sort of ways in which you get bad teams to the postseason. She can squeeze more dollars no let the personalities of these individuals shine the way they do in the NFL and the NBA that those reasons are just as valid as to play on the field as to why those scores popular. Here's here's a good example thing about the NBA right now the NBA in the Western Conference. The eighth playoff team in the West is the Memphis. Grizzlies are they a threat to win the championship. No no they're not. Are they a threat. To beat the Lakers in a seven game series. Oh really really really highly unlikely okay so the NBA by leading in those mediocre teams at the bottom. There's very little chance that they're going to beat the bucks that they're going to beat the clippers that they're going to beat the Lakers almost is Gary. That's what the reason we remember the Sonics doing it and the nuggets. 'cause it's the only time it's really happened. It almost never happens. What makes baseball frustrating? So in the postseason so frustrating and especially thing about. The dog is just the randomness of things that can happen in small. Now you're increasing racing that variable you're increasing that. Hey look anything can happen. We just went through six months to get that number one seed and you're telling me we have a bad three nights and I'm done right. That's a bad bad idea is a really really bad idea and I get it. The more postseason games you have two more opportunities you have to make money totally totally get that and I am pro making money with that being said. I don't want these games to be awful. They're already three thousand regular season games now. You're adding more meaningless. postseason gangs things and for what you're not going to get quality games out of this. Here's another reason you know it's a bad idea. You have to read it twenty five times to try to figure out exactly what it is they want to you do okay. I'm going to read this very quickly. Ready I'm ready. The best team in the League would receive a bye into the division series the two remaining division winners in the wildcard team with the best record of the four four would each host. All Star Games are shoes all all games best of three series in the opening round once. The team's clinching. The regular season ends the division winner with the second best record but selected wildcard opponent from the three wildcard winners not hosting a series. The division winner with the worst record would then choose its opponent from the remaining two wild card teams the final match up would pit the wild card winner with the best record against wildcard. Oh Cart team not yet chosen those Farmaceutica immersed reading one of those. Those ads can kill you if you get it excited for Major League Baseball. You need Google talk to just figure out who's playing where and how the whole thing works how. `Bout in order to get into the playoffs. You need to have one of the six best records in the league. Ding Ding Ding was playing. One place. Six it's it's pretty easy at that point Clinton. "All right. Thank you that. Welcome back to the show rectal with you. Coast to coast and around the world on the American Forces Radio Network so Gary Cole- Three Hundred Twenty four million dollars is a couple more things to talk about us saying breaking taken down nine thousand dollars per pitch In his career so far he's earned twenty five million so this year he's GonNa make ten and more than he's made in his career and of course as we know in sports and he was a top five. Pick you're going to get more money but you don't really start cashing in until you get to your first year. That's when you start making millions and then you make huge huge money if you get after that so obviously the Yankees win again. And they're far far luxury talks territory with a one hundred percent penalty. And they don't care. I mean last year was any team more hurt than the Yankees and they one hundred three games. They crapped out against the Astros. Well now they take coal from the Astros does if you can't beat them join them and teams that went one hundred and three games and outscored the opposition by plus two hundred and four. which is what they did last year? You don't have a lot of glaring weaknesses. But right now the rotation is Garrett Cole is going to be your opening day starter charter barring any injury Severino goes to to Masahiro Tanaka three this your fourth starter is James Paxton. uh-huh that's just stupid. This is like with the Astros in nationals. Were doing last year but still James Paxton big maple than right now. J. Happens five and maybe they trade him to get salary relief. I don't know but they're going to be. The Yankees are the prohibited world series favorites. Let's just face it and then Scott Boras talking about him so far Strasberg to forty five and call two or three twenty four. That is is over a half a billion dollars if you have five hundred million and you got one percent. Oh he gets more than that. Oh and by the way hey. He Represents Anthony Rundown so not to mention Nicholas Custody Janos and some other players. He's going to still make more cash but I think about the angels remember. He's from Orange County and this is a team. It's like we gotta get help. We gotta get help in the rotation we gotta do something. And they went out and got Dylan Bundy by the way. This billy apple or guy doesn't impress me. I mean yeah. He kept trout also them for that but I think he got fleeced by far. You WanNa get rid of twelve MIL- now. Maybe he was under orders. If Arte Moreno says cut payroll now do whatever you can. Yes Sir Look I save twelve Mil- okay okay. Good but you got your name on the fact that a guy you just drafted. WHO's your number four prospect you trade him not even six months into his professional career to get rid of twelve million dollars from Zach Khazar contract that you brought in The giants lately haven't won a lot but they won that one in my opinion but the rumors were from some of the national media that the angels offered Garrett Cole Three hundred million and if somebody offers you twenty four million than that now you could be Jason Heyward or her lamarcus Aldridge. Leave money on the table. But it's the frigging Yankees if you're a baseball player like I said I was never a Yankee Fan. But how do you go to the Yankees. When they're offering you the most money and with that team slip up and down the lineup and you got stanton attention judge? I mean it. Just you know Glare Torres. It goes on and on. How do you Nacho in nineteen? So they've cut the cord obviously on on Brad Awesomeness for good reason. Mostly because he's overrated. He's never done anything. But then you get Joe Madman. Joe Madden's in town a remarkably. He wore we're out his welcome in Chicago which I don't think many people were expecting. I certainly wasn't at all. I think right now the angels are going to make a very hard hard move at Hinge in Rio who I think is a Boris and you say dominate. He's also Boris Guy. Review the Money Dallas. Kaikal another one. It's just the guys make in cash so if you get real I mean that'd be something but thinking about the dodgers Rogers the dodgers Mike. It ran down so that'll salvage their off season but right now they're mostly focused on Madison. Bumgarner this is what we're hearing and right now they're rotation without review is to my Julio Arenas and most is likely the pride of Saint. Mary's College Tony Gosselin the pride of vacaville highschool and you'd say what about Bueller and Kershaw all right. Well those the top two guys the right now. Don't constant is the fifth starter. That's not optimal but he was there. Minor League pitcher of the year in two thousand eighteen and and we'll see if they hang onto Ryu or not if they do. I bet you goose. Counseling goes into the bullpen. But I mean if you look at the Astros I I mean there was the world series for the having right there. You gotTa rang. I know but there is a chance for the altuve as and the BRAKEMAN's to get another ring and and they couldn't win one home game now. I know that Jim Crane who I actually met a couple times. I always point that out because I don't know how many owners but he's trying to stay under this. CBT though we eat oil nutsy beauty. This is the competitive balance tax. And they're actually shopping opping Carlos Correa I I mean I just keep hearing time and again. 'cause career has two years left and I'm actually seeing seen some articles people saying yeah. It's probably a smart thing to do. It's a smart thing to do in the name of payroll efficiency. You'RE GONNA have a backlash that you'll never see Carlos Correa if you wanNA trade him wait until July his last year under contract The number one overall pick one of the best players in baseball when he's going but you throw in the stance of an ongoing sign. Stealing scandal had to fire their assistant. GM todman after saying some things that were unsavory defensive Marcello Suna who is a convicted wife. Beater Roberto I always say Marcel. Thank you Dominic Roberta seat. It's better when I'm back here with him. He doesn't have the on top back. Roberto Zuno and I'm sure Marceau's thanks. Roberta you've got all these titles of the world getting it wrong but they've they've created their own mess pass that they're in right now so like when you have the aforementioned Altoona and Bregman and you think of how the rookie the of the year slugger. They're gonNA be fine but losing Garrett Cole will definitely punch a hole in what you what what you did have gone but I just want to hear. The people say Aguirre Colts being greedy. You're being greedy people say that about CCC the bath. I know a giants fan. That was very mad. He didn't come to the giants when they threw out an offer. And it's not that he hates the giants. It's not that Cole hates the angels. I'm sure the angels were very attractive. Remember he throughout the giants because if the giants said we'll beat the Yankee contract by million I bet you. He comes up here and plays with his brother-in-law but when your hometown team offers you three hundred Mil in the Yankees put twenty four million on top. And you're playing in that I don't know just to if you love baseball. Put on the pinstripes. I know I waxed poetic about this but if I could play one game for any team I wanNA play for the Yankees just to say. I wore the same uniform Babe Ruth were now. I'd like to say I wore the same uniform and Ricky Henderson worth to the as are my team but Garrett Cole all the most money by the best team with the best talent I mean how do you say no to that the nationals or the okay whatever he's not going to the nationals. They just spend all their money on Stephen Strasburg but yes Boris Corp.. He can't put that hat on again for nine years. I'm sorry about about that. Maybe while you're hunting I'm.

"Back with greater L A on KCRW. I'm speech takes the dodgers. Maybe the sparkle of a lot of baseball is in L A, but it's actually the team down the five freeway that's one the most recent World Series for all the attention. The LA angels of Anaheim get over their name that last part may become a thing of the past the team's lease at Anaheim stadium runs out soon and its owner reportedly has also been talking with the city of Long Beach about the possibility of a new stadium being built down there. Would it be called the Long Beach angels Gustavo, Arianna is here with today's KCRW Orange County line Gustavo, or less Anaheim has a new mayor, what has he been saying about negotiations with Arte Marino, and the angels, not just a new mayor, but a new political reality, so we'll remember for the past couple of years? There's been a pitched battle between the city council led by the former mayor Tom Tate against the Los Angeles angels of Anaheim just calm the angels, the team said. The city needs to fund the new stadium because the old stadium angel stadium of Anaheim's really decrepit and mayor Tate. The former mayor Tate said, no. This is not gonna work for the city, the new mayor. Now, Harry said, Hugh. They're saying, okay, basically whatever they want. We're gonna make it happen because the angels belong in Anaheim, even though they're called Los Angeles. All right. So let's talk about then what brought them to this point, this, this epiphany that they have that we love the angels, and we want them to stay. Is that a part of the whole negotiation with Long Beach? Well, it's interesting because with TAY the angels on Dr Merano, they were basically zask braided, and they said, well, look, if Anaheim's not gonna deal with they're not gonna give us a fair deal, according to them, we're going to look a little bit more elsewhere. So there was conversations or rumors about Tustin rumors going to the inland empire. The Long Beach, one was really interesting. Apparently they have been talking for a couple years, but news of this didn't emerge until a couple of months ago. Any baseball professional teams. Get to do that, or they're at least for a stadiums. Get a be up soon or they want a new stadium. They're going to say publicly, oh, we wanna stay privately they're going to say. Well, let's start moving elsewhere and even more privately. They're gonna go to the city officials say, look, if you're not gonna give us a deal that we're gotta like gotta go elsewhere. It's interesting study after study has shown that professional teams really don't contribute much to the bottom line of city's finances and sales tax or whatever. But what the city of Anaheim has been saying that we're going to create an entire district around the state and kind of like what you have down in San Diego with. Petco park, create like entertainment breweries movie theaters. And the like so what the city of Anaheim is now saying is by having that professional team in this case angels there. We're going to be able to create more tax revenue from the city in the form of other business. Now, this is this is what the city is calling the platinum triangle, right to put all these things together in one place. Yeah. The platinum triangle for us old timers. We remember the platinum triangle, as tile mile. It was like southern California's greatest collection of tile companies. I personally liked it more than having breweries here. Gastro pubs there and whatnot. But the city really wants angels to be there and the proposed deal that upset people a couple of years ago was that the city told Arte Moreno, hey, will lease the parking lot around angel stadium for a dollar a year, you get to develop it, according to your liking you get to keep all those proceeds. But then with those proceeds you get to build a new stadium for yourself. And a lot of people said, hey, that's a lot of terrain. That could be very valuable in development wise, for the city of Anaheim. Are you just basically giving? Away to the angels, is anyone pushing back. Do you think about this whole idea saying city needs to keep driving a harder bargain with this team? You do have community activists who for years have been saying this both Republicans and Democrats mind you, but I think, in general, the public at large, really doesn't care, even Orange County. There's more dodgers fans than angels fans. Mike cousins will always remind my cousins who like the angels at the same time, though, remember, we always said this about Disneyland Disneyland can do whatever they want to Anaheim, and no one will ever care. Well in twenty eighteen finally the residents of Anaheim pass a living wage ordinance that was seen as a direct reprimand of Disneyland. So right now, I think that the city of Anaheim, and the residents want angels to say and we'll do whatever is possible to keep them, but who knows in a couple years. So if there's this pushback, I mean are people like saying, you're, you're really thinking about a new stadium? You're really thinking, what you're gonna tear down the old big a and then put something in its place. How is that going over? It's interesting because it turns out angel stadium is actually the third oldest stadium in baseball after Fenway park and Dodger Stadium. I know. But yeah. Dodger stadium. The, the both of those are shrines, though, to baseball the big a honestly, just a big a what that rock formation. That's supposed to be some icon of baseball lore. No. And let's not forget that the stadium was actually refurbished in the mid nineteen ninety so a lot of these critics are saying that, but what the angels team, the team itself are saying, well, we need more luxury boxes. We need to be competitive with the rest of professional sports. Of course when they had the redevelopment of the stadium is only about one hundred million dollars. If memory serves me correct, now any stadium. The starting bid is gonna be one billion dollars easy. Do you think that this will happen? I mean, they have been talking to Long Beach it was quiet at first, now people know about it. They talked about maybe something along the waterfront near the ports. I mean, is that really a possibility as it realistic? I love Long Beach. I don't think it's gonna happen. Also for the angels, they could say all the about, oh, we're gonna go elsewhere but really where they're at right there at angel stadium. It's perfect, it's right in the middle of the orange crush. Rush. So traffic is somewhat manageable, there next to the Arctic train station, and the bus station. It makes it for far easier, getting to than say in Long Beach off, PCH, or say, let's say to have in Dan lend empire. What you're gonna take the ninety one to the fifteen. You know how how much traffic there is over there. It's.

"And we have some special treats on that show. It's ranked on the I tunes TV and film chart, and we have a review of Suzanne. That's coming out Thursday. So very very cool invisible. Jet for the win. Yeah. Just see my tweets about the invisible jet. I I have not. But now, I'm going gonna go find them when we get to the show, my friend, my friend, who is the voice of wonder woman in the Justice league cartoon, she was she mentioned a guy was complaining about no wifi on his plane. And he goes, it's certainly no invisible jet, and she tweeted about it. So I thought that was funny. I said there's wifi on the invisible jet, and they she wrote back and cookies to and cookies I mean, come on cookie invisible. Kid who knew. I learned today about this woman who brings cookies to NBA players like like just ran cookies. I bet she does. That's that's awesome. You've been you've been covering major league baseball long time you've been on a lot of different outlets only. I'm all you're still younger than me, bro. Okay. You've you just started your career lottery earlier than I did. Okay. But there seems to be major league baseball free agency is is moving at a slower and slower pace each year. But this year the extension market is red hot trout sale. Ver- Lander golden. Nolan. I mean, just it's just everybody's getting an extension except Jacob degrom is is this just the wilpon are going to mess. This up. Well, I didn't see what that kind of question was going. I think this is more about the problems with the than the MEC. The fact of the matter is it's an all these players are taking these extensions because there's going to be a proposal that's going to get rid of guaranteed money. The unions gonna fight it. And that's why I think there's a full on crisis. And we've talked about that before in the Mets situation. I don't understand what they're waiting for. Jacob degrom. Hell doesn't have any leverage. Because I don't think the free when he's eligible for free agency. I think the rules will have changed. And I don't know what the rules are going to be. So when you saw Mike trout, and no one no one ever not up to me is the best example, he knowingly knew the Yankees did not pursue Manny Machado because they wanted him. And he still signed an eight year deal with the Rockies because when Nolan are not as a free agent. He doesn't know what the rules will be. So Jacob degrom doesn't have that kind of leverage. And unfortunately, he's dealing with an ownership group that is ridiculous. And while the angels Arte Moreno did the right thing and the Astros did the right thing with Burland Lander. I don't know that the Mets will do the right thing. When do they ever do the right thing? The Mets don't do the right thing. Very awful. There was a story in the post today New York Post about the wilpon buying back. You know, some of the trenches they had sold off in two thousand twelve to raise money in the off scandal from charter and from Comcast. And that Forbes had them at two point one billion dollars last year. But the sale would indicate they're only worth a billion and a half. And that they weren't originally going to buy these tranches back because it was going to be too much money. You can only have so much. Debt leveraged against the team. But because of the lower valuation, they decided to match the offer. So they're going to buy the trenches back in cash probably because they can't take anymore dead. And Jeff wilpon is now going to inherit sixty eight percent of the team is that a fifty two percent of the team. Do I need to like change my fandom because my ownership group is is like one of the worst and all the baseball. Well, you're doing a national radio show, and that's to Mets questions. Well, I don't know. I would change your your phantom. I I worked for that team. And all I can say is the reason I departed what? Because of this owners, I won't get into specifics of that. But I did not I can't work for a place that I don't respect, and I had a experience with them that I would deem as I don't even feel like they are the major leagues. I've worked for one two three four teams in the past have great relationships. You know, even though I'm not working there anymore. I've had great relationships with the Phillies the Mariners the Rockies and I worked for major league baseball. And I don't have a bad. You know, I I don't have enemies, but I had to get out of that situation in such a way that I it was it was attacking me at the very core. So what I say to any met fan is usually I respect the fact that fans usually inherit your phantom. You know, what I mean, you why are you a Mets fan 'cause your your parents probably work, and I don't blame that. I'm not blaming you for it. But I can't in my right mind any person to spend hard earned money to support a franchise with that ownership group. I hope that answer your question. Listen, it's it's about as strong an answer as you couldn't give. Now over in Cleveland. They've got some injury issues. We are nice people. Very nice people, kipness is out and Lindores out. And then here is foul ball off his knee. And I unfortunately didn't break his leg, but he's probably going to be out for a little while. But then the owner comes out and kind of gives this. Cloudy picture of whether or not they're going to be able to keep franscisco endure long term. I know it's Cleveland Cleveland's not the biggest market, but they've been a good team for a long time. And I always had the understanding they were pretty well run organization. How does that team? Tell it's well, you know, we we don't know. We gave them a lot of money when when we're ready to give out three hundred billion dollar contracts. And this was the the comment when we're ready to give up the million dollar contracts. They'll probably be given out billion dollar contracts. Can the Cleveland Indians really portray themselves as among the absolute smallest poorest teams. While the two poorest teams are Tampa in Oakland. I mean, there's no secret about that. Because there's no revenue generated from the ballpark. My favorite. Cleveland Indians joke. Is the day that the Cavaliers had their parade. If you've ever been to downtown Cleveland, I'll address your question. But I I think the joke is better than the answer the day of the cavalier the Cavaliers parade. If you've ever been to downtown Cleveland you have to walk past progressive field to get anywhere in downtown Cleveland. So they had one point five million people in downtown Cleveland and only seventeen thousand at the Indians game that night. That means one point five million people walked by progressive field and said, yeah, I I'll skip it a million and a half people you'll have Peterson crazy river. It's a crazy number like, you would think if there's a million and a half people in the city in the Darren Pam city, you'd get thirty five that night like you, you would think and by the way, the Indians were finished in first place that that's unbelievable. Money. But it's just unbelievable. But what the Indians are saying is that the system is broken. And that's true. There's no secret about that. The system has been broken for a good three or four years. And that's why the union is saying the things they're saying it's why the league is trying to start collective bargaining talks now because they realize they have such philosophical differences. They've diminish the value of the starting pitcher they've diminished, the value of the free agent diminish, the value of the stolen base, they've diminish. The value of the manager. Last year was all time lows four manager salaries of the last twenty five years. Because what the managers up today are becoming our psychologists and conduit from the front office. I always make a joke every time Aaron Boone makes a decision to Brian Cashman have to text him. I. But I just pick on the Yankees. But just because they're easy to pick on that everything. And you're seeing toilet fellow in in in Arizona and Craig counsel in Milwaukee. And and and Dave Roberts in Los Angeles. And what's his name Martinez in in in Washington and gave Kappler in Philadelphia. They're all the same. They're all guys in their forties. That are that are young enough that they can relate to today's player. Which is if you think about today's player today superstar is a millennial. And so you factor that in considering the fact that everything is done to analytics letter like it's done so far in advance everything is pre scripted manage your very rarely has it instinct where he has to make a decision to go by the book or by his gut because the reality of his he's probably been told. And so what Cleveland is saying is city. Is broke. And trust me. He didn't say anything. I saw those comments. I read those articles it didn't even raise an eyebrow. Because if he's telling you that the system is broken. No freaking kidding. Seth every cover major league baseball long time. He's working several teams and major league baseball is with us on the hotline right now, and you're talking about the devaluation of managers, and these guys basically told look, you know, book or gut you have no gun you do it the damn number since Joe Madden is one of the best most respected managers in the game. And apparently he is on the mega hot seat this year. And he just won a World Series. It's absurd. They should make a statue for them. Absurd. I don't understand. You've got one of the best managers in the game. One of the most respected guys in the game. You've got one of the most respected press, the Epsteins or respected guy. Joe, man. How does this come about where we're talking about? Joel Madden might be out of baseball. Well, there's a big thing going on with them in the form of their their their new network. And what they want is to continue this run at all costs. So there has never been in the cubs legacy more pressure on them to now. I thought they had a great year last year. Was it a perfect year? No last year was better than twenty seventeen. And that was the year they were coming off the World Series. Milwaukee gave him a run and they finished tied. We're talking about one game difference. And I didn't think that was such a big deal. And you know, the postseason sister crapshoot. I I always say that all you can do with the general manager is make the thing. And they were in it. They did it. They won as a wild card that to me. If that's not good enough. That's not a reason to fire Joe man because there's nothing out there. That's better. And you're starting to see, you know, Bruce bocce is retiring Terry Francona, I would say is probably one of the last seen the last of the rockstar managers. You know, look at the managers. I was talking about before they're all kind of the same. And if you're the cubs, and you're going to bring in one of those that would be the reason to get rid of Joe, man. Same reason why Buck Showalter is not going to get a job or Mike. So she's not going to get a job. You're starting to see that the rockstar manager is having and less of a role. And I think that's a microcosm of that. I don't think Joe Madden. And did or anything that he has. You know, I have close ties to some people in the cubs organization, and they're just feeling the pressure. I think that's that's all that is. And it's spring training rhetoric. He Seth Everett longtime broadcaster cover major league baseball working for major league baseball multiple teams, including my sad. Mets..

"Of billions of dollars return again, that's a good return investment. We're just back to the the incentives of the game. Right. You know? It's not just about baseball team owners all being, you know, greedy. Sure, they are might be. But it's just about the fact that you would be stupid not to you know, if you are a t- mortar, you're seeing all your fellow team owners get hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies and be able to either pocket that. That back into the business. You know? Of course, you're going to ask for that. And you're gonna come back and ask for it year after year after year because you know, that Jeffrey Loria did it with the Marlins and Carl did it with the twins. And it may have taken the ten years you get the money, but eventually they got the money. So again, I think we're hitting a little bit of a lull. But I would be very surprised if the as the raise don't get some sort of new stadium deals in the near future. If it doesn't Volve some sort of public money or public land giveaways tax credits or something like that. Just because again, it's such an ingrained part of the business model that you know, I don't think it's gonna go away anytime soon, but you know, on the other hand my books out for books out for over twenty years now the websites still going, so maybe we're starting to have a little bit of an effect. And maybe the raise don't get a stadium, Dan where they are. Then they're just gonna move up here to Portland, Oregon, and it would be wonderful for me. But the last thing I wanted to ask you there's been a conversation in Anaheim. Because the the angels owner Arte Moreno once renovations the ballpark, which is showing its age, but there's been an ongoing conversation with the city over who's going to pay for it. And there's been a conversation of well, if marina was going to pay for the renovations himself than he would then be given the right stole the parking lots around the stadium. And does that seem like given that I I think the parking lots around the stadium mood and valued at something north of I think two hundred fifty million dollars release the property around the stadium. Does it feel like kind of a maybe a developing trend where maybe moving forward owners, we'll figure well the public has caught onto the fact that we can we can fund our own stadium construction. But at least this is like sort of a workaround away for us to get that money and still say that we privately financed new ballpark. Absolutely. I think when man was twenty five years ago now when I started looking into this stuff, you could as sports motor walk into the state legislature and say, I I need a new stadium going to have a check for three hundred million dollars, and you would at least get taken seriously. Now, the one thing that has changes a bit of a backlash to that. So you have to hide the subsea a little bit more. So you say, well, we're not asking for money were asking for land that we can develop or asking for tax breaks or were asking for, you know, money from this revenue stream that was set up for our last stadium that maybe would have gone back to the city. If we paid off the old stadium did build a new one. But whatever you've been spending it on the old stadium paying off the old stadium. So if you give it to us now, it's no big deal. And I think we're saying much much more of that. And those kinds of hidden costs Jews Grant Long who is a researcher. Now iridium Michigan has been. Looking at this over or years decades now has found that the one consistent thing is that the the amount of these hidden costs again, whether it's free land or tax breaks things like that has continued to rise over time. I think the last time she looked at it. It was something like forty percent above what the headline caused was public stadium costs and that was years ago now, so unsure punching out with numbers. It will be even higher than that. So, yeah, I'm watching that angel situation very closely because the old mayor of Anaheim, Tom Tate, shot that down very quickly and said, you know, we're.

"I have classes that are twenty five, and I have classes that are thirty six and I can get so much twice as much done with the class of twenty five then a class of thirty six. It's unheard of the district has upped its offer in the past week on hiring additional support staff, but the. Teacher's union is called those offers woefully inadequate. Underlying? The dispute is the issue of privately operated charter schools, most of which employ nonunion, teachers. California's biggest utility is filing. For bankruptcy protection. Pacific Gas and electric says it's taken this step because of financial liabilities. It could face over recent wildfires, perhaps thirty billion dollars or more. The company's equipments already been blamed for sparking several wildfires over the past few years now state investigators are looking into whether it's sparked the camp wildfire last fall, the most destructive in California history. The city of Anaheim. And the angels are expected this week to reach a one year extension on the halos. Lease of angel stadium is KCRW Eric Roy reports that will give the city in the baseball team enough breathing room to work out a longer term arrangement. There's a new mayor in Anaheim in a new city council following the November election, and they're looking for a deal that will keep the angels in town, basically forever. Previous attempts to negotiate a new angel stadium. Lease broke down most recently in two thousand sixteen two years earlier angels, owner Arte Moreno was looking at moving teston, but that fell through the problem is at angel stadium is half a century old and needs one hundred thirty million to one hundred fifty billion dollars in maintenance and upgrades with that. I'm not in a position to foot. The Bill city leaders are looking at making worthwhile for Merano to cover the costs by letting him turn part of the huge parking lot around the stadium into stores offices and even condos that's what the city did in recently renegotiated lease with the company that manages Honda center where the Anaheim ducks play hockey the question, then becomes how much should. Marino pay for those development rights, and what kind of cut should the city. Get the Anaheim city council is set to vote on the temporary one year lease tomorrow for KCRW. I'm Eric Roy on this Monday. You are listening to KCRW we are NPR news for southern California. It's seven thirty five. This is morning edition from NPR news. I'm Rachel Martin. And I'm David Greene. Our next guest knows a thing or two about government shutdowns. It is Newt Gingrich. He was house speaker in nineteen ninety five he and then President Bill Clinton reached an impasse over the budget and parts of the government shutdown twice, actually, the I ninety five shutdown was in November and lasted five days. The second was about a month later it lasted twenty one days, and that was the record until this current shutdown which hit twenty one days on Friday. And that is when we called Newt Gingrich. Today's trying my record and tomorrow, they'll break it. So I have a deep personal interest in this. Are you are you proud of that record? It led to an agreement with Clinton that led to welfare reform, the largest capital gains tax cut in history and four straight balanced. Budgets for the only time in your life. And we wouldn't have gotten to him without the level of intensity. I mean, I think we couldn't have moved the system that far without having raised the heat level of intensity. And raising the heat like what why is that productive? And why is a shut down the only way to do that. Assume you have a system where there are large blocks of power don't particularly want to change, and you don't particularly want to move. And so they can they're going to resist whatever you're doing. And the two ways historically where? Gotree ways, you really changes one is somebody runs a campaign in which they win such a clear public will that the congress and the president get something done Reagan in his first two years, for example. The second white. Thanks changes. You have you a genuine crisis nine eleven. The world was different but evening of nine eleven. And people respondents for about a year. And it was a real bipartisan effort a real wakeup call. The third way you do is you have a huge coercion. They are engaged to make political dance. And the reason you have to raise the heat. Reagan used to say that his job was to turn up the lights for the emerging people. So they would turn up the heat on congress. But really was how we govern. But what do you tell federal workers who are out of out of work right now going without pay? If they feel like they're being held hostage for a political dance. I tell them is it, unfortunately, it is part of the American system. I would love to have the federal employee unions who are overwhelmingly democratic who are upset would call Schumer and policy and say, why is this such a big deal to you? Why I have to say I mean with with respect Mr Speaker, we've talked to federal workers who have never brought up politics at all not talking about whether they're Democrats or Republicans that have just been saying they don't have enough money to pay the bills, and they're thinking about going into the savings college savings for their kids and faster right Bill, which will guarantee them that they get paid when this is over period. So they will get compensated or whether they go to work or not whether they're laid off or not everybody will get paid. So nobody on on an annual basis. Nobody will lose money. You once suggested to a group of reporters that you in part provoked, the initial shorter shutdown in nineteen ninety-five because you felt snubbed by Bill Clinton for not talking to you on your first one on flights to and from Israel, and he made you deplane from the back of the plane. That's not what I said. This is one of those examples where you end up with an urban legend because one particular liberal reporter totally distorted what I said, and I got to be a really clever cover. Newsday. The crybaby. Yeah. What what I what I said to them was. Agreeing we'll to go to Israel for for the prime minister for his funeral because you've been assassinated Yitzhak Rabin we're talking about. I'm so Dolan. I are on the plane. We're going to fly all the way it is you fly all the way back and in that time period at some point. We could have had an hour or two to try to make some progress on the Goshi. And later on one of the people who was on the plane wrote a column and said the truth is don't Clinton was playing hearts. Now, this whole notion that he was to Dawson was baloney. That he was sitting up front playing hearts card game. Yeah. You described that to reporters, and you said that, you know, he made you get off in the back of the plane and so forth, and and whatever you meant to be talking about. You were you were seen as petty a cry baby, you know, starting a shutdown over a snob. And and you did say allowing that narrative to take hold was the single most avoidable mistake, you made a speaker, right, right? After two levels. One is I should have gone to the floor the next day. Correct. And the other is a good reminder to politicians not to go and talk to reporters. Why hope I hope you don't follow that guideline advocate. You don't. But I'll tell you flatly. I felt like I had been ambushed and that. But does that doesn't that speak to the political risk? If you're dealing with a shutdown. I mean that in this political dance if you're dealing with lives in federal workers. Those shows you the political risk of dealing with the American news. There's a reason that various media analysts say Trump is ninety two percent negative coverage. He knows what whatever he does. Weeks later, virtually every major media outlet in the country will be again. But but like he's he used the word proud at one point saying he would be proud to shut down the government over his fight for a border wall was was that a smart where to use? No, I look I don't I don't think he's ever smart to be happy proud to use that word about causing pain to people. But I think what he was trying to say was that the cost of getting to control the southern border. His a head on collision that he is willing to have that head on collision. How long is this is this shutdown going to go on do you think? Oh. What do you predict that? Because nobody's trying to. I mean, I policies feeling oats. She's a brand new first reelected speaker Sam Rayburn in nineteen fifty four. So she has no reason right now to be reasonable Schumer, basically is tied to her. He he is the tail on the kite, and she. And Trump is genuinely determined to protect us so more could this backfire for both sides of the country will be increasingly angry at everybody. Is that a good thing for either side? Well, probably creates a space for like wrote to show up as totally unknown person with no with no record who's Tripoli pleasant. And I didn't do any of it. I think this hurts. And not just the old timers many think this hurts the Kamala Harris, and it hurts Boker. It hurts anybody who's in office right now because they don't have a solution. And they become part of the mesh. Newt Gingrich pleasure talking to you. We really appreciate the.

"Thousand ESPN father dot com. Happy hump day. Great day for cubs fans. Trying to get over and shake off the loss last night. Take a little while the AL a wildcard game tonight. You're go. It is the Yankees. And the as we've got it for you right here on ESPN one thousand we've got a lot of the playoff action for you over the next couple of weeks. We'll have all the World Series games. We've got games tomorrow and Friday divisional round games in the afternoon. So this is your place for October baseball. Do you remember last year the wild card playing the the wildcard game? You know, the one game the American League in the American League wildcard game was the Yankees. And it was the twins in tonight's starter. Luis Severino who was brilliant in the first half. But it really pitched poorly in the second half of the season. He started last year. Do you? Remember what happened? He was out in the first inning. And the Yankees still came back to win that game. But the twins chased him in the first inning. Joe Giradi went to the pen in the first innings had get outta here. A do or die game think that happens again tonight or Severino really go. I Don I think there's a sign of trouble. I think he'll be out. So what happens these downs sway their work? Now last night with something with western Freeman wasn't it were they good or what? They were good. They were both dealer arm. They're both doing you know what though they watch. The cubs were hitting him hard when they did get the barrel of the bat. They showed the ball and the Knicks Yakub car good friend texted me, right away. And he goes whether hitting them harder. They're going to pull them. They hit him. It's gonna get bold. Dan, a couple right at the one that's the snag that story made on the Daniel Murphy Lee. To listen to the ball was being stung sometimes. They got to this guy. And then all of a sudden the second time through all of a sudden look like they got a little tepid at the plate. Lester was great though, man. You look terrible early on the first nine pitches were terrible. He can grind, man. Well, so he grinded. Congratulations. Any more than cantata? Didn't give up Zimmerman runs. Right or wrong. I know you're right. So. He was sharper nine strikeouts. I thought his stuff was better. He was better. I thought so. You don't think? So it doesn't matter whether he's better or not. Score. You're right. I mean xactly the cantata got no support when he got no support. I can't guy Lester got no support. Both pitchers would no support. I'm not talking about this off season. I'm not talking about pitching, get arms, healthy hamstrings healthy could shoulders healthy, everybody get healthy come back next year with a with a new attitude. This is the craziest thing about baseball. And we talked a lot about it yet. We talked about all the time especially in October because the the randomness of it. But Tony Walters. Did I hear he hadn't had a hit since September? Twelfth. You heard that correct harmony almost a month. Tony walters. He's coming through in the clutch. Unlike Jason, hey catcher. It's unbelievable. Like, that's baseball. Any Kyle Hendricks whose changeup has been devastating all year long. The lefties. Lefties can't hit it. But he makes just a little bit of a mistake in some third catcher who a hit and three weeks named Tony Walters out the game is the euro. That's baseball. Do you ever? Do you ever? Remember seeing somebody in the NBA finals hit a big shot, and you go who's that guy ever amount offhand? I couldn't remember Severino. One inning last year. I think the answer Steve Kerr when that happened, and he was just a role player, but Steve Kerr's got the highest three point percentage of history of the NBA castle. Okay. Maybe you're right. But I mean it happens in baseball time, you're like who. Need? I remind you Connor go lesbian. Twenty two thousand sixteen Conor Gillespie Glaspie. It's the craziest thing and I love baseball because of that some people don't, but I love it. It's beautiful at the running back for the New England Patriots. Conor Gillespie earth. The former sock who couldn't hit his way. It couldn't hit his way out of a wet paper bag. Do you? Remember what he did in the playoffs in two thousand sixteen when he was at San Francisco. No, remember, what do you think I wake up, and they go man, I wonder what kinda Glaspie didn't. All right. Yeah. And two thousand sixteen in the playoffs. You ready? You ready for this year? I am I am excited. Four games against the. I'm sorry. The wildcard game the one game against the Mets. Right. Right. Four at bats a home run in three RBI three Rb is excuse me. Pretty good. All right. Fred hubner. That's pretty good in the NFL DS against the cubs. Four hundred batting average five thirty three slugging percentage. Drove in three runs. Six hits in fifteen at bats. Like what Connor? Yeah. Guys can do it in baseball. So the one I'd love with Scott Brosius when his third baseman for the Yankees he himself the series scheduled series. Scott said Nick two thousand five zero home runs in the regular season. How many in the playoffs to including a walk off game winner in a World Series game in baseball Connor Gillespie's career batting average to fifty one career on base percentage. Three or four in the playoffs for twenty one. Go figure is a player. You know what? Ted Williams hit in the playoffs. You know, two hundred. I did not know that two hundred let stand usual during the play offs. I can look for. I'm just putting a random famous name out there. Stan Musial for his career in the playoffs to fifty six hundred three forty seven on base percentage. Well, below his career averages, obviously, Ted freaking Williams, the greatest center of all time at two hundred and he only played in the playoffs once know back then on the only went to the World Series in some of his prime because of the war you had to be the number one team to go to the. Ted williams. The greatest center of all time played in seven playoff games made it to one World Series nineteen Forty-six they lost. He had two hundred go figure Conor Gillespie. It's four twenty one. Don't tell me to break. I'm rolling. I'm looking at the clock. It said this is fun baseball congress. This is big. Another level. Ted Williams seven baseball games in the playoffs. Seven Mike trout play more than that. That's a good question. You gotta figure. Yes. Because now you have so many more opportunities will be as manager next year. If so, no. He will not be Jesse just told you Danny social ever manage again. Now. Old. I mean, he what is he needed anymore? I'm just asking question. All right. We'll take some calls coming up next carbon Arte Moreno, he's the owner. They wish to find out who he really is. Like really get to know the person who already sit down who are you tell us about you what I want like happy with Nagy. Nagy? Sorry, carbonated jerk. Avoid come calls coming up next on ESPN thousand we know what it's.
