Ruby and Yoda and It's one of you older. Yes, maybe one minute older them a one minute older so Yoda. How do you to differ in your temperaments? Well I'm always told that Ruby, Nice. One Which is true? <hes> I am a little bit more direct assistance. Dutch people are think I'm <hes> a little bit more. Outspoken where we very patients and lovingly, and yeah, so you complement each other we do I think. Together the Dutch are famous for being direct. Yes, we are yeah. This is so fun to think about generational differences, and so on in America and what we call a baby boomer and you got in America people in their twenties and thirties or generate millennials do the Dutch <hes> look at generations in certain ways like that? Also? Yes, exactly the same we have baby. boomers are parents are a baby, boomers, and yeah, we're millennials, so millennials people in their twenties and thirties, gen-x people in their forties, baby boomers people in their fifties and sixties, baby boomers, being the most interesting and fun, loving and entertaining. Okay so tell me about the characteristics of millennials. In the Netherlands. Well, it's probably very similar. <hes> we are we millennials. Because we got handed everything to us right. We always learned where you're growing up. Everything is possible everything you wanted to do and instead of creating people who are very secure. What they WANNA do were all very insecure, and we're very well like I'm going to do and like every ten years. We changed jobs and <hes>. There's a lot of enterpreneurs so a lot of people who want to create their own little thing, but we're all sort of this known at were unhappy with everything because we can have everything we're unhappy. Yoda. What's what's an example of festival that a millennial looks forward to every year and Amsterdam? We Love, King's Day. That is one of our favorites. Once <hes>. It's not we do not have as many festivals in Amsterdam anymore more dough, so <hes> I'm stem because such a busy city <hes> day try to take people away from Amsterdam, so if you want to experience the holidays like King, stay or Liberation Day <hes>. It's better to go to one of the less bigger cities. Also. Just what what? What is it? You'd like to go to for one of these big. Go to Harlem, because the most I am from Harlem, so we always love Liberation Day that is in Harlem. It's known to have the biggest festival only ration- days that its fifth of May we got free from the Nazis and <hes> every year. We celebrate our freedom. It's just really fun with a lot of artists in music. Video of me. I remember the festival Yeah Amsterdam is getting so congested so touristy. I was there for a King's Day once and there's so many boats you could walk across the canal just from boat to boat. who was just solid votes in the canals, but people were certainly having a great time Ruby. Festival that you look forward to. What would it be every year? ooh I always look forward to the food festivals. There are many food festival also around to Amsterdam. And we have a shoeless that SURF SC fall in the neighborhood of Amsterdam <hes> where people go to, they have to take off their shoes and walk bare feet it. It's <hes> of course when festival Shula Festival. They have a lot of food everywhere. Fit of electro music seems okay. Let's me to one of these food festivals. Then okay. So, what kind of food would you be enjoying? You would be enjoying some Sushi macos, but also local foods like French fries. The real food festivals hundred stance. "With you right here. Kansas t- AM seven hundred Tucson's. Most stimulating talk. Going to be at Mr. tonight's for our state of the art party five to seven going to be Mr. runs next Tuesday of the state of the union watching party. I'm sorry, Nick, come after both. Why wouldn't you? I'll be there for both three things that I think you need to know number one the the people in districts that Trump won in two thousand sixteen but Democrats wanted two thousand eighteen after hearing the messaging. After hearing what Trump had to say Pelosi had to say, they support President Trump. They support his border policies. This is very big for Republicans and very troubling for Democrats. After hearing what he did what he said the Casey made support for him went up and Pelosi. The Democrats went down. It's a big deal. Second thing that I think you need to know is that Nancy Pelosi invited and President Trump accepted giving the state of the union on Tuesday. February fifth week from today. Third thing that I think you need to know amphorae school district. Oh, baby. We'll get more this at seven ten amphorae school district, actually. Required mandated training for all of their employees. People that went through it contact to be said, they basically called it white privilege training was micro aggression training things that white people shouldn't say that's pretty much what it was every employee of the school district had to do it. And they even made them show an MTV video. I'm watching MTV video about microaggressions seriously. Wait till you hear it three things. I think you need to know. All right. Now, speaking videos, and I'll put this on my page St. dot com. This is. This is absolutely fantastic. So when people find out facts like I've been talking about we'll do this throughout the show when they find out facts, it's amazing how they can actually make the right call. And they were they were lied to by the media or Facebook wherever they get their news from the I get my news from Instagram. Awesome. When they get that all of a sudden, they've no frigging chloride. They've no idea what's going on so campus reform, they're awesome. They went to another college. The George Mason University and students who they blame us play one ten I if you don't mind jazz one ten students who is to blame for the government shutdown. Listen to this. What's your thought on who the blame for.

Storm or while reality twenty for one cave like we can investigate. What it's like if the in Florida's like when you go underground those caves into in touch tanks, and all kinds of science experiment is free. Because even better I think that's Saturday to four see I would like that go to a to a cave lab kind of thing rather than the actual cave. When I was a kid. I feel like I did all my learning in a textbook where is this stuff? When I was young and learning gotten a lot, better, grains. I think. Yeah. More fun. We would have totally been been there. Interactive part is is the best. That's going to be the next thing. This huge festival in Dunedin. I'm gonna let you handle the pronunciation, okay? Okay. So d- I Taylor from west coast. Okay. Day of the dead. And as we have learned that Pixar movie. Coco it's not Halloween. And scare us. It's actually a lovely celebration of remembering our relatives to pass. Really cool restaurant Dunedin subpoenas been there funky. Great awesome too. By the way, they've been doing it for twenty five years and last year because of hurricane Irma had cancelled for the first time in twenty five years they had to cancel it back. So they're very excited to have it back again and people do alters and they have folk dancing event at nine o'clock this March to pioneer park with these giant puppets that very Mexican heritage thing. It's a funny gonna talk if the owners of it, and they were, you know, even like was biggest party of the earth. This is the ones that they have the most of these they love it love sharing their culture within the community and some five thousand people will show up. Yes. It's going to be a big deal. That is lovely to you think about it. The owner of have you who said he cried person he ever went to live more of deliberation invested call where you think about your father whose pass your family. Did they bring pictures and stuff like that? Or people walking around bring pictures, and they do little scandal it, alters and stuff. Like celebrate the call costume contest yarns and folk art face painting. It's really cool. We're doing our Saturday. We're doing our weekend events segment with Tampa Bay times entertainment and events reporter Sharon win. He could follow on Twitter at Sharon, K, W N, the Clearwater beach. Chalk art festival that'd be fun for some kids. Chuck art is really cool because some of these artists they make it look like three D stuff. Yeah. I've seen that all along to the walk there. They haven't beach your they have that that whole little commonality, and we can have some thirty five artists from across the area are going to be. She's with the artists are doing, and they'll be treating it while you're there this weekend. The only thing I ever did what what was that game as a kid hopscotch? Yeah. Yeah. That's not considered. That you can go with the thirty five. I don't know what about pops in the park. Oh, you know, this is kind of go Florida orchestra because it's every year. It's one of the perks of it for me concert in the park. It's one of the highlights of their season and this weekend Saturday and say peach in ROY park. They're gonna have a actually before the concert. You're gonna have to call the the big thing they had the master chorale there. And it's a community sing along. They'll be they'll be doing like some popular songs. Everyone kind of knows the words to and they're gonna be doing the big thing. And that they're going to have the four to seven and then afterwards fireworks? So Sunday at campus river tower park, and also, no fireworks. But also, we'll have the popular park at seven and the picnic scene is over the cap things people like wine bottles, and like like, you know, spreads of food people will bring like full-on charcuterie boards of like cheese, season meats, and yes. Totally. Yeah. I've never been picnic guy because you've got the bugs, and the grass and all of that this is like the full on, you know, tablecloth. Yeah. It really awesome. Yeah. I like cement. Have a subway sandwich. Also, of course, Halloween right around the corner. So there's a lot of Halloween events happening. Yes. This weekend. They're still picking and then tonight. Late nights. If you hang yourself. The so Chuck rally is Dombi seen and it's going to be a thriller dance mob popping up. I think it's pretty cool. That'll be cool. That's fun. Saturday at Tampa theater. They're doing all day, Freddie. Krueger marathon of they're gonna play all. Nightmare movies. I think it's fourteen hours and all from it's from ten to midnight. You can either pay ten bucks per film or forty bucks for an all day pass and see over FREDDY Kruger movies. I was always more of a fan of FREDDY Krueger than Michael there was always a magician between the two, although I like the theme music for the Halloween movies better than the theme music. I love that. Trivia contests this week, and they asked what mascots for Michael. A hockey mask. Great. I sound like, no. That's somebody else. I don't there's Michaels a hockey mask. It is. Yeah. They said it was a captain Kirk mass. Really? Now now, Jason's a hockey mask. Right. There's another guy named Jason right JC. I don't know. Niemand? I I don't know. Kruger. Here's my favorite final one this week and dress up. We always do this. Because there's always a reason to get dressed up and go out. Halloween. Yes. All the Halloween party, which are plenty of them. Go on our sites have com slash things to do. But I thought this was kind of cute Saint Petersburg. They love vintage as there is a safety. Vintage bash on Sunday at the holiday hotel, really cute boutique hotel in downtown. And they're having a distinct vibe with the forties and fifties to of course, you're encouraged to dress up, and that kind of thing is going to have ventures, motorcycles and cars having a swimmer contest. So you can go in your like long Johns if you want to their Brian. Forties or fifties. Long. Johns, bats Micon address up. And there's going to be there. Cute. It's going to be one to stick on Sunday. It's free. Never fails every week. There's an event to go to. Or weakened events segment with Tampa Bay times entertainment and events reporter. Sharon win. "I almost took a lab on that one. Just let you know in the book you in, there's a chapter called the choreography of lightness, and you kind of make the distinction between like NIST and white people talk with us a little bit about that about the the need to make that distinction and what's the utility in doing. So why think about that chapter? I tweet often watch why this work because I'm interested in the way the way this is sort of always moving. And I remember there is this I was at a party once in this is I'm going to tell you the party just for context. This is not a humble, brag. It It is. is not a humble brag, but I was at miss teen. I'd be onto his mom. She has a party that's a wearable art party. So everybody's like wearing art and I go to the party and I'm wearing this like plastic jacket thing, and it has facts about Justice on it. So one fact all the mature one fact is that we arrest more people for we'd all violent crimes combined. That is true. Another of the fact is that one in five black people in Florida. Campo also true the dirt is that white high school dropouts have more wealth than all black college graduates. And some wearing this on my on this Jackie in this guy comes up to me. He's like, hey, is that true? And I'm like, all these true. He's like, I don't know about this one and I'm like, I don't know if you get not to know. Like I don't know if this is like you don't get to like, you don't get to like contest. This is a straight white man who is coming up to me saying this and he says, he pauses a, he goes, well, you know, the only reason that white people have more wealth is that they're more white people. And I was like. No, but with this party. So I got to be like a little chill and I stayed at him. I'm like, well, the only reason why people is that you killed half the people in slave, the other half, right. Like that is. And he is looking at me like, which is happened right. But I say that because like one people talk about this notion of truth and reconciliation, and what we know to be real is that the truth has to come before the reconciliation. And there are a lot of people who like want to do the reconciliation par without dealing with the true part. When I think about one of the ways that whiteness works is that whiteness sort of like wants to skip, pass all the worst parts of how we got here and sort of like just suddenly magically make it work. And we think about wealth. For instance, it's like we gave people wealth right that like the government gave white people, housing loans of one percent interest. We gave why people free education like the higher administration paved over communities to make what we now call the suburbs. Like we did that for white people. It's only when we talk about poor people and people call it. The suddenly everybody's imagination goes out the window there like, we don't know what to do and you're like what you mean? We just did it right. So when I think about this distinction, it's like white supremacy. The idea that white people are the norm are the standard in our the measure of everything whiteness the culture that that just creates and white people as people who benefit from those things. Even if they don't actively. Choate them and we name it so that we can help people disrupted and like in that chapter, talk about sort of this cycle of self. Congratulations. That's happening amongst whiteness right now that like people are there like I get white privilege like at the basic elements. Any knowledge that you benefit from things that you didn't personally work for? And like, that's good. The white people get that..

"Ardeshir were would be eager to contribute were to be auctioned 'cause they introduce you to crop collectors of great way. Great, socializing, event, etc, etc. But the success of that auction program prompted of organizations to mirror it at one point, just the art papers auction within a few years. There were maybe like eight or nine organizations doing art auctions every year, you know, and they all wanted to same artists to contribute in that became problematic in like, okay, but I can donate a piece to this auction, but I can't do eight art auctions enemy. So now you see a lot of these organizations starting to do to create innovative fundraising experiences. You know, maybe instead of auction, it's a party like art party are. Maybe it's a monster drawing rally, you know, at the high museum, you know what I mean? These are really, really cool, innovative ideas for organizations to to kind of engage the arts community answer, raise money given at as an example to talk about the murals. So you not think with the success of that with the success that living walls initially had with their mural program in sparked a lot of other developers in organizations to try to do something similar. Let's do some euros. Now everybody trying to do Niro's, but I think that's gonna take, and people are going to have to figure out new ways of engaging this concept of public art beyond murals, like there's more to it than murals is. More to public art engagement in euros. And I think we'll, we'll see in very short time that conversation ship thing around with public art can be should be how can be done. There's a guy I know I think he's based out of North Carolina. Now, his name is Jake Levitas who any heads up this organization call our city and what they do. You know, kind of like how you're saying with public art, they make in commission public art pieces at different, you know, cities around the country, but the art pieces, they try to make sure that they are, you know, like central to the community. So like for example, nobody's gonna come into the West End and just put up like a big spoon or something, you know they're going to, they would come and put up or create or work with local artists to create some kind of public art piece. Not necessarily a mural. It's mostly sculpture, like sculptural types of things that they make, and they'll include that in the neighborhood to be something that is Representative of the city and of the people that live there in these kind of particular places. So. I feel like Atlanta's certainly, yeah, we are seeing a lot of murals. I mean, I I live right in the corner of of a of Lee street navarine EFI, and there's lots of bureaus over here in the west. I mean, there's there's no shortage of going to different buildings and see us up paying. I think even as you just go like in downtown cetera. There's lots of murals everywhere, which is great. I, I see what you're saying about, like how that could end up sort of dying out because when you have things like living walls or like forward warrior, for example, you know these murals only stay up for certain amounts of time. You know, it's kind of just a canvas that keeps changing, so it's not something that really even becomes that permanent to the city. It's only up there until someone paints over. Like if someone doesn't mirror on the side of a building, if a developer buys the building and paints over that and it's gone right? Like where does it go?.
