Tom Brady speaks out
"Right twenty years now Tom Brady has said just about nothing about anything at all he went out of his way to say as little as possible when there is a microphone in his face yeah for a good chunk of that time he was pretty quiet on social media as well but then he started to reveal more and more on social media then he became a free agent and then you couldn't shut this guy up then he started making as much noise as possible and now that he's out of New England he's practically fighting to get in front of a microphone in the past few days alone Brady is done a players Tribune piece that's like a million words long and now a two hour interview with Howard Stern and if you thought that in appearance on store and meant that he was going to completely unload on bill E. Bobby and the pats for how they treated him go ahead and re think that one wrong assumptions were made about our relationship out how he felt about me I know genuinely how he feels about me now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption that you made other than what his responsibility as coaches to try to get the best player but the team not only in the short term but in the long term as well so what I could control was trying to be the best I can be in both of those situations also so I got to a point where I was I was an older athlete and he sort of plan for the future which is what is responsibility is and I don't fault him for that and that's what he should be you and that's what every coach should be doing not that I would ever coach but you know if I'm ever in a position of authority I would understand that she I would think I really need to before that interview was I like to get his face with a game on that is a remarkable non answer even for TV forty three and I always love that movie includes this now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption this made and then you proceed to not respond to any rumor or assumption that has been made you just blow right on by you don't say or respond to Jack I mean I was a chance for Brady could have really unloaded on tele check but didn't and clearly he doesn't want to for whatever reason maybe it's because he genuinely feels like Belichick is not bad guy here or maybe it's just because he does not want to air it out in public and he didn't really seem to want to get into whether or not he thought that he deserves more respect from Billy and Bobby for what he had done again I can't do his job and you can't do mine right so the fact that you could say what I'd be successful without him the same level of success I don't believe I would have been but I feel the same and vice versa as well the time isn't there some reasonable your part that he didn't make you a patriot for life no absolutely not no because this is a part for me in my life that experience something very different here's the thing I mean it is tough to get a read on Brady when it comes to Pella Scheck and their relationship obviously it's a complicated relationship put Brady is not going to let you inside that relationship not very much so what's the point of putting yourself out there the way he is if you're not going to say anything at all a new C. Mike doing a many media tore is about getting your side of the story out there it's about you controlling the narrative you know as well as promoting yourself and your brand and this new phase your career but exactly what is his side of the story again this guy's not saying anything what it seems to me is it's like he's framing things and he's being respectful about Jack but it's nothing but love and respect right well me ask you this time if it's nothing but love and respect the hell are you doing in Tampa if it's all respect why are you still in New England and what about all the reports in recent months in recent years about how strange that relationship wise so which is it exactly is it a totally respectful parting of the ways or was Brady really bad about the fact that Belichick would not commit to him in the form of a multi year extension that he wanted because Brady says it's the former but there's a lot of smoke there it was the latter all in speaking of smoke there was the revelation the Brady drank any smoked weed in high school there was that but is it really a revelation quote what kept me from smoking a lot of weed obviously in high school you try that and you drink and go to parties but I always felt like I was letting my dad down he went on quote I do have fun in high school with partying and drinking and smoking weed on occasion but as it got later my high school life does became less and less and quote I mean I guess that's something it shows that he has been a cyborg his entire life did do was not going to Baskin Robbins in high school and asking if they add avocado ice cream that when all the other kids were baking in high school Tommy was well baking in high school at least for a minute or two I mean damn what a wild man homeboy really did get loose yeah not really then again if you don't chop it up for two hours with Howard Stern not answer any questions because how it's not having that in well he didn't admit to any strain in his relationship with the hood Tommy did admit to a strain in his relationship with his wife you know because of the long hours the resistance bands the avocado ice cream the avoidance of night shades and probably that guy Alex rubbing all that lotion on his legs the fact that it was all in during the football season then once it ended he was all in on his off the field business is the fact that he was being a pretty selfish dude and Giselle was not having that you know she didn't feel like I was doing my part to the family you know when she felt like I would play football on all season and she would take care of the house and all seven of season one ended I'd be like great let me get into all my other business activities let me get into my football training and she said they're going when you can do things for the house you're gonna take the kids to school and do that right now is a big part of our marriage that I would I had to like check myself because she's like I have goals and dreams too it's just not this you know do these things either so you better start you know taking care of things about how so two years ago as it related to your laptop off for me I had to make a big transition in my life to say I can't do all the things that I wanted to do football like I used to you know I got to take care of things in my family because my family was the situation wasn't great she wasn't satisfied with our marriage damn like I gotta stop wearing my recovery performance jammies like wow I might have to eat a tomato I mean I guess that's something sort of as much as a wife telling a husband you're not keeping up your end of the bargain do better or hit the brakes I mean not that that's some sort of crazy revelation debut I think that Tommy was taking the kids to school and doing the dishes I mean his duties all ball all day except when he's trying to convince everybody that drinking water prevents sunburn of course she was passed and then there was the admission that he did not throw to some guys that he did not trust I would say I don't have any trust that this guy can you know help us to win the game and I can definitely expressed my opinion to say if you put him out there I'm not going to build the wall because I write you know the whole team is trusting me to do what's right by the team so you can't put someone out there that I don't believe in because if I don't believe in and then it'll work was for the team home shut it down let's go home he went there if you can trust you you weren't getting the ball you know again for Brady that sounds like some kind of crazy revelation he just admitted if he didn't trust you he would not feed you damn homeboy is ruthless no actually homeboy is like every other quarterback in the history of the world in that regard they have guys that they trust to run the right route and make a catch and they have guys that they don't trust the guys do they do trust get the most looks the guys that they don't don't it's pretty much out is ready quarterback ever however there is one thing that did come out of the interview that we did not know something regulatory the fact is he's got a nickname I nicknamed the we didn't know a nickname the comes courtesy of Matt castle by the way did you know the back castle never started a game in college sign Jerome Bettis is from Detroit anyway Matt Cassel never starting a game in college is now the second most important fact about Matt Cassel because the most important fact about castle he's he's the one who got lost Tom Brady the following now it comes it comes from a gaming six when Brady suffered what was ultimately diagnosed as a sports hernia go ahead ask because like like one side looks like I would say like an orange and then the other side was normal and I was like something's wrong here thank you thank Dr Brady something's wrong here we just jump in there what's your first and the fact that one testy was normal and the other with the size of an orange art Modell things you want to get that checked out Tom as you might imagine the fellas in a locker room we're not about to let that go my backup time capsule turn pictures of me like with this once you step on one thank you guys

"Run. Borjas. We added to their ring of honor and persons with it, now he's former coach Brian village when the ravens I bowl and the second winningest coach in franchise history. Bryant first of all, thanks for joining us again. And congratulations. Thank you very much. It was it was greatly appreciate it very much surprise. But very excited about it. Can't wait to see. My name is a permanent fixture on that state. And, you know, it's been twenty years since I, I come to Baltimore and coaches years like dog years. Right. So that's a long time. Well, Bryan speaking that ring of honor. It has some pretty recognizable names on it. I know United is their berry guys at Bron remember, Lenny more. Donovan, Jim Parker. Art Modell, Ray Lewis and read on them. Now it's you and Hello, de NADA are join them and sort of references just a few seconds ago. But how big a deal is this for you? I really Steve. Shaadi called me a couple of weeks ago they want to do this. Was very appreciated. And I don't know that it really resonated until we actually had this ceremony was came in. Raven. A bunch of people. I saw Matt Stover and Mike McCurry. And some of the other guys that are in the ring, and it wasn't until then kinda hit me that, yeah, this is pretty cool to be part of that group. And you look and you look at the names on the only the ravens, obviously, all, but relatively brief history of the raven, still, it's been about twenty four twenty five years and some of the names. Louis and read and just really some really good players. But that into the old colts as well. The United that group, you know, it really does put it put it within context and. Very humbling, and very exciting for me. We've my family decided that, you know, we've stayed here in the middle attic area over here on the Chesapeake and, and absolutely love years, that kit from LA would retire here on eastern shore, but we actually love it. And to be a part of that in a permanent basis this very exciting. We mentioned surprises steeper shoddy told you I guess, I'll ask you how surprise when you call. What did you think he was going about? And what did you say when he told you? Like I said it really wasn't. I really didn't much. Stuff like that you guys and you realize, well, I'm a pretty old guy now. But Stephen Rene, there were so gracious and doing this that. Who was ultimately traded away from the ravens the business side of it. And again, you know to be honest with ravens did one pointless, remember that, but that's the business side of it, and the tradition the history, the family mentality that comes in and out of the ravens while loading wanted to retire is very, very real, and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of that. Of course, brand new Super Bowl victory thirty five against the giants. But that team as you may recall was at one point five and four and you were winning without a name.

"I mean for all the people out there who don't like capper, Nick, I would submit to you. They're just as many who do and who would follow him in drove. Rose, and why not capitalize on that? Following you've created. And you know, I don't think it's all that ridiculous to think that he's worth two million dollars a game to league that otherwise it's going to have a hard time finding footing. So that's the one thing about all. This this surprise because everybody walks onto this advances their agenda narrative, but from a business standpoint, he's probably worth two million dollars a game to a league that that is going to have a hard time finding and cultivating stone players continuing in the quarterback conversation, obviously earlier this week. Joe flacco goes from Baltimore to Denver. So in the can discern and dig into that move as much as you like. But lemme ask you where some of these kind of moves leaves Nick foles in Philadelphia. It kinda hit me today as we were thinking about and talking about how the dominoes are gonna fall for Nick foles. You look around the league. There aren't a ton of teams that are determined to go out and get a quarterback this year. Now, there are some teams that have older quarterbacks and they wanna be thinking about drafting a guy, but there aren't the same number of teams that they're being past years where there's six seven eight where it's like, wow, they really do quarterback. You've got Miami. Jacksonville Denver's address those situation with flacco maybe the giants and Washington and the eagles would like to direct Nick foles away from their own division. So at this point, and I wrote something about this a little while ago. I see the dolphins and I see jibe wars that the two primary contenders for Nick foles. And I think the awesome may decided just wait and see if they get collar Murray or twain Haskins or end up drafting someone at least one team the Jaguars as viable alternative for Nick foles. And I'm kinda getting the feeling that that his people actually want the eagles to apply the franchise tag. Because. That may be the only way he gets point five million this year that if he is on the open market. I just don't know that there's gonna be a team that breaks the Bank for Nick foles. There's too many question marks about whether he can continue to do what we saw him doing the postseason at twenty seventeen and to a lesser app. It's still impressive fashion lake down the stretch and twenty eighteen and into January. And I just don't know that that's going to get somebody to give him twenty five twenty six twenty seven twenty eight years, especially because last year we had five shrunk quarterback. So all worked out, and they get paid very much and Kirk cousins, the king of the free agency class at twenty eight million. I think if you would attach the Vikings to a lie detector machine, they they'd say that if they could go back last year, not do that deal. They would do it. All right, Mike on various websites today and on social media. I am seeing today. Celebrate as the twenty three year anniversary that the Browns. Art Modell fired Bill Belichick. So I'm gonna put you in the hot seat here. Who is the reason for the dynasty? Is it Bill Belichick or Tom Brady? Well, I think it's first of all Browns fans are going to be very upset. John because the Browns ravens did they want to be sure? Sorry. Sorry. On become the ravens. They're the ones who screwed this up. But I I think it's Bella check. I I really do. I he has set a tone in New England where and this amazes me. You know, everybody goes through any whatever sport you play. You have a great win. And you feel good about yourself. You haven't devastating defeat. And it takes you out overcome. The patriots skill. Unlike any others is to completely forget about what happened yesterday and focus on what's going on tomorrow. And the honest Atty refrained from Bella check in twenty fourteen that summarizes, it Natapei them is it, and I think about some recent years they have that heartbreaking Super Bowl loss to eagles last year. They go back to zero and they dig their way out and they forget about last year..

"Here's toady. The what happened on this date back in back in the mid nineties a little anniversary, it's kind of a sad anniversary. But today's the day that the Art Modell officially moved the Browns out of Cleveland and moved his team Baltimore. Really? That's sad. It is. But it isn't. But the a lot over the years has, but here's why it sat at least from for the city of Cleveland because that ravens team won a Super Bowl and the Browns. Correct. Yes. Well within a couple of years. Probably what two thousand one so. Yeah. Four or five years later. But I always thought this was brilliant of the NFL. I wish more leagues would do this bay left the team name in the history behind. I always thought that was that's a really cool thing to do. Like, I hate the idea that like if I'm. Like like like, I can go to a titans game and in the record books. I find Earl Campbell. Just doesn't feel right to me. Right. Like, I should be able to. I should be able to go to a Houston Texans game and see Earl Campbell in their record books. Right. But that's that. I, you know, it's city versus franchise. Would that have to Texas would then have to keep going? So it's which makes sense. I mean, Tennessee was never going to be the Tennessee Oilers. Right. So I get it. So I understand there's there's two sides to the coin on this issue. I just liked it because the Browns have a very very rich history. And they but they are an expansion team. They are in nineteen ninety nine expansion team. They are not the Bernie Kosar Cleveland Browns. They're not the Brian Sipe Cleveland Browns, Jim Brown Cleveland Browns in and out the Ozzie Newsome Cleveland Browns that team is in Baltimore. But at least according to the NFL that expansion team got to retain the name of the kiss theory. And I think that's pretty cool. I kinda like that especially with the team like like Cleveland, you're right. They could have been the Cleveland anything's, right? I mean, they could have said now won't be the Browns will be something different. And we'll be something. But they went now when you give us this team back, we're going to be the Browns, and we're gonna have the same uniform in the same everything is if we just took what three four years off and a lot of teams don't get to do that. Like a lot of teams like the. Seattle SuperSonics right there in the go- Coloma city thunder record books when Seattle ever gets another NBA team. It'll be a brand new expansion team. And they'll feel like an Brandon expansion team. A lot of other stuff that happened on. This date were pro bowls and all star games and the start of the Winter Olympics. It was the start of the two thousand two winter games in Salt Lake City on the state was one of my favorite Olympics. That was one of the better opening ceremonies. Just because it was merica. Yeah. You don't want my favorite athlete of that of those Olympics. Were there were two. It was Jimmy shea. Remember Jimmy shea was the loser. He was really kind of cool. Oh, no. No. No. No. No. I'm sorry. He he wasn't. He didn't do lose take back. He did. He did the sled. He did the skeleton. Okay. He did the sledding we do as kids. Yeah. That takes us thirty set of oh, you know, what's. But he does with his chin like an inch from the ice going one hundred miles an hour. Like, that's what he does the skeletal you lay on your belly. And you go down and you go down and you go down the track. But you're you're literally inch an inch away from the grass. I mean from the ice with your kid. So you have to keep yourself strong. And you have to keep yourself upright maneuvered the, but he was pretty good. And then there was God Sasha Cohen the skater like look her up. Yeah. Macur remember her? I definitely remember her Sasha Cohen. She was my favorite. Figure skater figure skating athlete. Yup. Yeah. Exactly. But at the time those kind of, you know, don't don't bog me down with details. She was probably fourteen or fifteen dollars. Find out what your is. Now. I don't want to. I don't want to because it's going to make me feel bad. That was two thousand and two seventy years ago with Sasha baron Cohen. No, no, no. We're not talking about him. Figure skater. She was so cute. She was she was cute. So and I think she did not mistaken. I think she did the telephone call with the president and the opening ceremonies remember that? We're Bush was with the American athletes, and like one of them had the phone, and he got on the phone with the parents or something like that. So. They'll. We're talking to you. Know you are. She was in two thousand six me out man, almost I think we're we're in the clear here. Okay. Good. Look. Cute athlete. What can I tell you twenty two? Oh, was she? Okay. Great. That's even better. You can buy her a drink. Okay. Very good Spud Webb won the slam dunk. Contest in nineteen Eighty-six on this date. We talked about Spud Webb earlier how the slam dunk contest used to be awesome. And now, it's not so awesome anymore. Spud Webb was the main one really isn't. Seven and he used to be I'm really bummed at the fact that it's not awesome is just because you know, what it is. And maybe it's just an age thing. I don't know. I don't really know. Anybody who's in it, and yeah, that's true. And if I think I think I want to blame Blake Griffin Blake Griffin judge jumped over carwin. Gimmicky gimmicky. The problem is with dunks. Can we agree that there's really not a lot of innovation left night? Really what else? Can you do like you'll Jordan jumped from the free throw line? That's awesome. Like when we saw it. That was awesome five seven Spud Webb dunk the basketball. That's awesome. So Sedgwick's abolished onto basketball's at the same time. That's great. We've done the bounce against the backboard jump on spin around dunk thing. We saw jumping over a car. Behind the back through the legs was Dwight Howard, the dunked it over Nate Robinson and superman superman outfit. I well. He did a superman, but he he remember brow was the first one to do the blindfold or like, he covered his exactly covered his eyes. There's so much innovation. You can do with a slam dunk before you go. Everything's been done. Yeah. But I mean with at least three point contest. I mean, it's like, okay. This is skilled these guys are just draining threes one after the other that doesn't mean it's entertaining and the Doug I it's just boring now. Yeah, let's face it to they all look the same. Well, that's the whole thing. Right. They do every Doug you bounce. It off the backboard, whether you you know, bounce it off. I mean, I guess the only innovation. The waas one. I really remember was somebody threw it off through to. Guy. What's his name? Steve nash. And Steve Nash headed the ball up on soccer skills. Yeah. Very good. That's great. But what else? Can you do? There's nothing really you can. I mean, if they if they're smart, maybe get trampolines involved. We can start. They will get some interest back to it. I think there was one year. I think two thousand ten or so javale mcgee's mother came out on the court to do something. Yeah. That was I mean, she was gonna throw basketball, Adam or something, I don't know. But it was again. It's nothing. Or maybe do it while someone's shooting tennis balls from cannon. That's a good idea. Thing. You can't do the Kintu. The trampoline is nothing. You can do. Jimmy, Dominique Wilkins one at doing a windmill. Yeah. You wanna during a win? Larry Nance one at one year. He just did a straight up dunk because Dr J missed a dunk and all you had to do was dunk it to win. It got booed and was, but that's that's the problem is that we're we're talking like, you just did a windmill Dr J, you know, I mean he just kinda brought the ball around in a circle we were like, oh my God. I can't believe he did that he's floating in air. And now, it's you know, we want I don't know what we want. It's still amazing that Spud Webb at five seven dunk tobac-. That's what we need we need someone like that to come back Cuyler Murray get out there and dunk. Yeah. Bring collar Murray out there. That's a good idea. Both the as and whoever wants a draft. What if you wanna make the slam dunk interesting you lower the ram and make it a celebrity edition. That's not a bad idea. That would I would get behind that. That's not a bad idea. Would you like would you like to see? You you like an old timers game. Like, an old timers basketball course game. Like, if you really brought back the the old guys, you know, if you if you really really want to get into it have the say the ninety two dream team go up against the two thousand eight dream team. That's how bad idea that's pretty good idea. And then spot ninety to dream team with a few points because obviously those guys a little bit older. And and Christian leader doesn't get to be on. No, no, no, you go. No, Mexico was shocked because you're supposed to do that in the first place. Yeah. I love I love to only ninety to dream team. They they go. Well, we made Christian late new carry the luggage. I would have carried the luggage and more. If I could have been on that team like the act like that was a punishment. Later. I probably would have watched certain things. Absolutely. I would have. Are you kidding to be the college? The one college kid that was on the the greatest basketball team ever my favorite thing about the dream team. The ninety two dream team was the fact that the United States told the rest of the world, you don't want us to do this not want us to do this. And they voted against it. When it came up to allow pros and the Olympics for the United States had. No. And they told the rest of the world, you do not want this because when we release the hounds we're going to release the hounds and then during the ninety two games you'd have Michael Jordan, Jamila basketball and some guy from Spain is playing defense, and he's looking at his friends to make sure they're getting pictures while guarding Michael Jordan, and he's not even playing basketball. He's just enjoying the fact he's on the same court with Michael Jordan. And can we all agree that that was the greatest? Of basketball players ever. Really good ones. I mean, you know, the two thousand eight one was LeBron Kobe and Durant, but ninety nine hundred nineteen hundred that was the greatest basketball team is the world has ever seen the best. I loved it. It was it was the coolest thing. It was they made a video game about it. Remember they had a video game and it never played it. But what what was the goal of the video game win by sixty and every single game. So what was the member that remember, they they drew and Gula? Thank god. I'm sure you know, if you're late near you're like, I'm gonna play a lot is gonna play. What a great a great. This is just ridiculous. Yeah. I remember the one mistakes album mind was magic just dribbling down the floor. And just throwing it up straight up in the air. He had no idea he was thrown into. But he knew that he was being followed by Jordan. Yeah. Right. Yeah. At that point. You're like this guy's just quit. Give them the gold medals. Now was Chuck Daly the late Chuck he was the coach, right? Yes. The formerly the late. Great Chuck Daly was he really a coach. Did he drop any plays? And he was just saying. Guys. Let's see that one guy. He's there shooter. Yeah. He wasn't really. I can't imagine. He was coaching timeout timeout, Michael. What are you doing over there? We've talked about this you need to rotate onto the left side when they bring pressure right now. He's not he's not coaching. He's hanging around. I mean who wants out who wants to go in the anybody gotta give Leitner. Do we have to give later eighty minutes? Does he have to play? But then you look at it as getting the reserves in there. I mean, I guess that's what the coach did all he did was some people in is like, you know, I gotta get Drexler. And at some point my Lord Molin over there doing nothing he made an entire he needed entire sweater. You imagine can you imagine daily looking down the bench stock to get up here. Getting there for magic good. He could get in there. Magic out there. Over here over here. Sit down sit down I'll talk to you later, go in their stock then go run the place. How to pass the ball? Magic doesn't know what he's doing out there. Larry get up. I know you back certain forget up doing laying down Larry Mullins a much better shooter than you are. Christie later, can I play what is your mother year? What's your problem? Sit sit down you'll get your time. Lord. Ninety to dream team as the best all right, espionage AMS. We should radio zero. Log.

"News, author of the book, Bella check and just refresh our memory, you know, kinda why did you decide to write this book at this time on what was the impetus? What was the spark plug for you decided to write this book? Well, I always thought he was the most fascinating figure in American sports. And so and then of course, in two thousand I wrote a column which I've been reminded of about nine hundred thousand times saying it was a bad higher. And so I I've always been fascinated by how wrong I was and lot the league felt at the time. It was bad higher. There were people even on who followed Bill to New England who wondered if they had this in the book, if they were committing career suicide and people told Robert Kraft, don't do this people in the giants organization thought, it was a mistake. They loved Bill as an assistant, but they never saw him as a head coach. They thought the Cleveland Bill was going to be the New England Bill. Art Modell, told Robert Kraft. This is the biggest biggest mistake of your life. Don't do it. So it is pretty fascinating that he built the dynasty that he did build when at the time. Really? I would say seventy five percent of the league thought he was going to fail and Foxborough. And he started out five and thirteen as you know. And then Tom Brady walked into his life. I don't subtract that from his legacy because every great coach needs a special player as his centerpiece, and he found one just in the Nick of time. And so anyway, that's why devoted three years of my life and interviewed more than three hundred fifty people the put this together. I wanted it to be a defining human portrait of the man not just the coach. And hopefully, I pulled it off, you know, if I recall correctly, he wasn't cooperative with this particular book because correct? Yeah. And why do you think that was I think it's just I if he can't control the editorial process the narrative, he's a control freak like most head coaches are. And so I think to lend his cooperation to a project, and he's not exactly sure how it's going to turn out. I can understand that. I was a little disappointed. And I figured that Stephen when I signed up for this three years ago that he would not cooperate. I was a little disappointed that he reached out to some people and ask them not to cooperate. But that's why I in some ways that made me better made me a better reporter, and he does that with his players, right? He puts obstacles in front of them to make them better. And it made me dig deeper and talk to as many sources humanly possible to to secure information behind those Kremlin like walls. And so I think in some ways it made the book better we're talking to an O'Connor right here. It was Stephen ESPN radio ESPN news as we stand here today, if you had to crystallize how exactly Bella checks should be viewed. What would be your description of him? And why would it be that? Well, just I think there are people outside of New England who think the whole spy gate and deflate gate. Things are really big part of his legacy. They're a part of it. I don't think that's the reason why he's gone to nine Super Bowl as head coach. I think he is just outworked people outsmart. People out detailed people his emphasis on special teams is greater than really any other place in the league his situational football emphasis and just even though his draft. Stephen have not been he's had his share of MRs in the draft. Just like everybody else. I it's been a mixed bag for him. But in veteran free agency, he's unbelievable at finding people who did absolutely nothing in their previous stops. And all of a sudden he makes them not stars. But very significant role players how many people how many football fans in America had ever heard of Rex Burkhead and area scoring the winning touchdown two touchdowns in the AFC championship game. That's a perfect example of a of a Bella chicken find and guys. He's great at emphasizing one or.

Mr. Andy Posner, Andy, how are you doing? Larry fantastic. Andy it Friday. I'm ready to have a nice little glass of cabernet top off the week. Sounds good. Well, any before we talk about something trivial? Let's get into something very serious, and that's Cleveland sports ever since LeBron James left. The second time. How has the Cavaliers have they have they been doing? Not quite as well as as I think we would like. But I I can't say I've been following basketball very much so far this year. I generally wait for another couple of weeks. But. The Lakers are excited. Well, you must be paying attention to to Baker Mayfield. And the Browns though. They did better this year, which is which is huge. I was a kid. I, you know, I'm a little. Older than you when I was growing up in the fifties and sixties the browser like the Yankees. And the Browns were always winning. You always expected in the playoffs. Course because there wasn't a Super Bowl yet. That's great. They were one of the most respected teams in football with Jim Brown. Mitch mitchell. Bill Plum, Franklin, right? Great players. True to that. 'cause Cleveland is a big football town and the team come back. It's over since. Art Modell, moved through the Baltimore. They've had a hard time recovering this year if they suck back, right? Well, Andy, as you know, I was not born there with one in LA when I lived in Cleveland from nineteen seventy seven till nine hundred ninety four and I got to tell you even though the Browns were mediocre. They were still like the third or fourth best drawing team in the NFL. So it stunned me when they moved and I've said Andy Posner after Art Modell that then owner of the Browns moved the team to Baltimore. If Modell Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were walking down the street, and the average Cleveland there had to a gun. They put them both in Art Modell. That's that's how that's how angry how angry they were. But let's talk about this fifteen dollars minimum wage Bill. The Democrats have introduced to hike the federal minimum wage, which is right now at seven twenty five to fifteen. It's absurd. It is becoming increasingly irrelevant. It's been particularly during the Obama administration was economic close. If we get the economy to grow, we would see wages go up, and you need a government mandates that hurt businesses and kill jobs increase wages. You actually would add economic growth or the government got got out of the way and businesses created jobs and wake you up, and that's exactly what's happening. Oh in two thousand fourteen was proposing the minimum wage to ten ten Congressional Budget Office came out and killed five hundred thousand jobs. I feel terrible idea today with the economic growth under President Trump, you could raise the minimum wage to ten dollars. And I don't think most businesses would even notice it seven twenty five here in in Tennessee where I read that youth right down the street, you go by any of the fast food restaurants or other retail establishments in advertising jobs for eleven twelve even higher. So it's it's increasingly becoming a relevant. If Bernie Sanders, and and the rest of the progressive Socialist Democratic Party. We just stand aside. Let the economy go let it benefit American workers by twenty twenty four when this Bill would supposedly get the minimum wage to fifteen by twenty twenty four. The way. I.

"NFL writer, we'll have board with us at the top of the hour. We'll get into a couple of things with him certainly about the games. And for those teams that are playing in games that really have no play implicate whatsoever. The bills and the dolphins need one of those teams going anywhere and one of those two teams fall into a specific category. Because certainly every team that's in the playoff hunt. Some need to win to get in others already in trying to get into a better position for the upcoming playoffs. If you got no shot to make the playoffs will what's the intrigue of your game while for some I guarantee you it's where we going what direction we added in what a head coach. They are going to be changes in the National Football League. The Packers already fired their head coach the Browns already fired their head coach in Cleveland as the possibility that the interim guy Williams could stick around and get the full time gig. The packers. I think that's very unlikely would fail been. So they'll be looking for a new guy. The jets have not let their head coach go yet. Not sure why same with the Boxster cutter. I don't think those are pretty much given me that they're going to be changing their coaches will black Monday. That's what they call a day after the National Football League for the overview that coaches are giving their walking papers Jags at least have to think about Doug Marrone nine. Oh, we're one year removed from them being ahead in the second half of the AFC championship game. But he always saw the collapse of this team. And I don't think they jump up and beat the technical tomorrow Broncos have been pretty disappointing shoot. There was conversation about them moving on from their coach last year. They decided to give it another year. It hasn't worked out case keenum wasn't a great assigning. I don't think John Elway. He's done a good job putting that team together. As a matter of fact, I don't think his job is on. The line. But I do believe their head coach is is from everything I'm hearing people who I trust, and whose opinion I hold on high for their inside information in the National Football League sounds like the cardinals gonna make a change Wilkins is going to get a one year shot in Arizona, and it's been an awful year for them. He hadn't done a great job. But I always question a guy who was fired after only one year in the NFL, you only turn over the team the culture so quickly and the cardinals were a bad team that he narrated there as bad if not worse, and that might be enough to cost coach Wilkens his job. And this is gonna be it for the Bengals right Marvin Lewis have been dodging bullets for years. Now, you had a nice run where he got the Bengals into the playoffs almost every single year. But they never win when they got there, and they're not going to be an above five hundred team this year. And you talk about giving a guy chance, I'm the moaning the fact that I think we're going to get fired after one year Marvin Lewis Bonaire decade, and this is a bad team coming off a bad season a need to change the team from top to bottom the culture specifically. I gotta believe this is the swan song for Marvin Lewis. So we can talk about your team. If you're one of those teams that think black Mondays umbrella being my town because we're going to have a new coach they're going to let my guy go. So whether it's a very meaningful game that will dictate what you're doing next week or. Being bigger than Sunday. Actually because you know, your teams making a coaching change get on my telephone lines a five two on two four two two seven Josh from Pennsylvania's on CBS sports radio. Hey, how's the gallon? How're you doing? Josh. I wanted to see what your opinion was on maybe making a coaching change, calm one. And the defense coordinator of the Steelers. Well, I they they don't need to be they can be mutually exclusive. I don't think if you fired the DC that you have to prior coach. There could be could be saved the defense coordinator didn't help himself with his foolish statement to the media this week not knowing the Tyler I for it too tight end for the Bengals to they're playing. This week has been on. I r for sneaking up on three months. Shame on him for that. But I actually think the Pittsburgh defense has been okay that you're not great. But okay this year. I don't think Pittsburgh's going to do anything. I really don't e- if they win tomorrow. I almost guarantee you that they're not gonna do anything. They make the playoffs. I don't think they make any changes if they don't get in even if they win, but the ravens shut them out. I think there's a chance it's less than fifty fifty for me if I'm a betting man, I think Mike Tomlin is going to be back. Could they say, Mike? This was a disappointment. We didn't make the playoffs. We need you to make some changes to your staff and it could include defense coordinator. Yeah. That could happen. But if you're asking me my opinion, do I think Mike Tomlin will coach the Steelers again next year the enter Jess? I don't think he's going anywhere. I don't think he's going to be fired and going back to the teams that I listed that. I think have better chances of making coaching changes. We know the pack the Browns the jets in the bucks, we don't know about the jets and a buck from ninety more than ninety percents. You're on both rose. Jags Broncos cardinals bangles above fifty percent. That's why put him on the list. But I think it's a better chance that they're letting him go than they're keeping him. I put him on my list of now. Eight teams I'm Steelers at under fifty percent. That's why I didn't put him on this list doesn't always happen guys. Who are bud? Fifty ended up keeping their jobs guys are below fifty surprises. Or at least me in particular the day end up getting fired if Tomlin becomes available just to prove to you that I'm a Mike Tomlin fan. I'll take him to coach jets which my team that I root for I'll take Mike Tomlin. I get it. He's not the greatest Xs and os guys. But I think he's a very good motivator is track record is. What it is better than a guy like Marvin Lewis for damn sure has a championship belt. Yeah. I take Mike Tomlin to coach mice quite Tony west Virginia's up on CBS sports radio I tone. Hey, man. Good. But. Can I make a quick distinction between Ursa bobber say at Art Modell to give history lesson as Cleveland Browns fan die hard ravens fan and for years. You know, people who are over the age thirty in Brown's best friends have been Browns that they call us fans here in Baltimore hypocritical because we can complain we can have the audacity to complain about the colts, you know, up road and leave the city, but we can clear we clearly cheer for team. That's not ours. And that's that's their position. But thing. Thing that they fail to realize is. And and they're the reason that Art Modell is not the whole family should be. Art Modell with a classy gentleman. He was upfront was intentions about that franchise. If they did not filling the seats two years in advance before leaving Cleveland he was telling the Cleveland start filling a seat. So I'm taking us organization. Elsewhere to a city that wants football now. He has. Kindness to leave all the history the statistical championship. You make a speech, but you get to win a little bit to first of all kindness. Didn't have anything to do with it. The league mandated that if they put another team in Cleveland, which they were planning on doing it. Eventually did that team would be known as the Cleveland Browns, and they could retain the stats and the history and records of that previous team. So it wasn't kindness out of the out of the kindness of the heart of Art Modell the league mandated that but he wasn't opposed to because he wanted to start his own. Bring the franchise started different logo. Now earth say lied about their intentions. What's cokes ended up taking them anyway and took all of their history with them. So that you know, when you look at Johnny you in the hall of fame and the Super Bowl five championship Cowboys, it's all under any Annapolis. When it was a team in Baltimore. If your point is Earth Day was a bigger carpetbagger than Modell. You're correct. That is very true. And here's where also stand with you to Cleveland fans who have a problem with her give you a hard time because you got mad at say. But you're very accepting of the new team the ravens as soon as you got your team back in Cleveland, and they were the Browns same colors. Same name all the records in place. Then you gotta let it go. Then whatever mad on you got for Baltimore. Just gotta let it go. You got your team back. Yeah. You had to go for a while without it. But continuing the garage, I think is silly. I I hope I appeased him. I'm not sure that I did. But that's my take on whole Cleveland. Colts ravens Browns triangle that has annoyed people over low these many years. Jake from Ohio is up on CBS sports radio a AJ. Hey, thanks for having me say MAC what's going on. How are you? I'm good, man. I two quick scenarios one with the Steelers Browns rivalry. I was just thinking, you know, say it's twenty twenty Browns ravens. They have a chance for chip shot field goal. And they take me, I think that would be awesome. And kinda ignite that rivalry because it's going to be close in the coming years. And then the second scenario chargers second Saint take any to force the game into overtime. No, they they would they would really meant as they lose the game on purpose. You want to do you want to see the Browns lose the game on purpose? Yes. So the Steelers don't go to the playoffs. Yeah. I. I couldn't do that. If I were the Browns. I just think it would be awesome for the whole rivalry. But I know. Yeah. But it's bad for you. What's what's more important to do? What's best for your team or to do? What's best for a rivalry? That's true. I get it fans and fans and fans love rivalries and fans loved eight other teams fans, but you have a chance to go above five hundred you won one game over the course of two years, and you can finish up with a road win against the ravens the team. That's going to take down a division. Bunch say Pittsburgh loses to Cincinnati, and you could do some scoreboard watching while you're doing it even act pretty irrelevant. No, you try and win the game. You want to finish up Franck? Greg williams. Coach's coaching for his job. He wants to to win the game. It's not going to help his case to go tank laid. So that the Steelers could make the playoffs. Yeah. Give me a contract extension on the ownership. But I d- now not working for me. That'll that'll get you out the door faster than ever. Now. They're playing a wind them all and they should. Yeah. I I was just thinking how entertaining that would be. But entertaining guests again, that's your and more power to you at your fan. And you're looking into like a Kapanen your treatment I ca- fan, but you can't impose that on the team that you root for that you expect them to act like a fan. No Darren actual professional football team will have a job to do when the game. My my father in law in mother-in-law Steelers Browns fans, I'm a charges. San brings me to my second point say the chiefs lose charges win charges. Get home-field. Do they play their home field advantage at stuff up at twenty seven thousand? You would hope firm for a change because it hasn't happened. I don't think in any game. You're a fan. I see the charges every single week, but I'm not paying strict attention to them and cranking up the volume to try and get a vibe on who the louder fan base is in the game on any given game. I've seen a couple where it wasn't even close the road team made it sound like a home game for their team. You get in the playoffs. You got to believe that L A's going to be able to keep their hands on their tickets. Aren't they? Yeah. You would think so, but you know, Venue-wise, I don't know if they would look look elsewhere, and I know ticket sales isn't everything to the NFL also. So I just wanted to see what you thought about that. I think it's unfortunate for the San Diego players. The charges have worked real hard to get into this position make the plans area compensated, but to potentially have home field advantage to out the entire EMC plants, and then not have control of their own building tablet. A fifty fifty split fifty five forty five opposition split, which they've had plenty this year. That's just sad. They knew it when they took this on when you're moving to LA, and we're going to share his stadium. But it wasn't gonna be ready yet and they had their. Stadium handed to them, and it was far from perfect because it smaller now can put as many fannies in the seats. So even if you had every single person in there as a charger fan, they can only make so much noise tavern. Not a third of an NFL stadium that they bought into. I don't think they realized and door gave enough credence. Do you know the other team could get their hands on the tickets that people could buy them, but then put him up for sale on the secondary market. And you've got fans of other towns teams in Los Angeles because they haven't had a difference along. Yeah. I kind of feel for the chargers they will have less home field advantage than anyone else in the upcoming playoffs..

"Noisy. Tough tough tough place to win in the regular season. Compla- off time though, Andy Reid will do something stupid and cost the chiefs again, it's like, death and taxes. Andy redo him something stupid in the playoffs. So Kansas City knowing than Houston. The ravens the chargers. And then Indianapolis, of course, the colts against the titans next week winner is in. But you still have the the Steelers sitting there with a mathematical possibility in the AFC the titans with a mathematical possibility if they beat Indiana, of course, in the end the colts next week, but here's an interesting one. Ravens are playing the Browns next week and the Browns. I don't know if they were mathematically eliminated today, even though they're seven seven and one and they've played great this year. I think they were. But maybe not I'm gonna have to look that. I think unless there's an extraordinary set of circumstances. They're not gonna make the playoffs, but they're playing the ravens next week in the last game of the season in the ravens need to win this game. And and need I tell you where the Baltimore Ravens used to play who they used to be. They were the Cleveland Browns forever. And then they moved in the middle of the night. To baltimore. Left the great city of Cleveland. And Art Modell was the most hated man in the city for the rest of his life. After that. Now, we got on important game with playoff implications for the Browns and the ravens how about that dates with your sports sports radio dot com. This is Michael Vick. You listening to NBC sports radio. So I gotta repel Tom bike. And he got me a peleton. She still has no idea how obvious right? I mean, she may have dropped a hint or two she loves to your workouts. "Clear the table. And that of course, has to do a lot with what's happening at the state house, and I was talking about this last week a little bit. And it was a cost conversation in that FC Cincinnati. When they were in the stages of asking for money and getting their financing together. Ask the state of Ohio for a little bit of money of which they want getting I think four million dollars of the fifteen. It was initially asked for. On the other hand just this past Friday. The state of Ohio got fifteen million dollars together at the last minute for the Columbus Crew, which makes us think down here in southwest, Ohio. Do the lawmakers like Columbus better than they like Cleveland if we got four million for FC Cincinnati. How does the Columbus Crew who by the way the ownership? There wants them the hell out of Ohio wants to move to Austin, Texas, and I'm sure MLS wants said expanding market as well because you would literally be the biggest dog in Austin, Texas. And so I'm sure ownership and MLS probably want to expand on Texas as well. But it looks like so far deals being put together to keep the crew in Columbus a guy who knows all about this because he's up till the wee hours Saturday morning is majority leader Bill sites and the Ohio house Bill merry Christmas. Aria? Wait a minute arrogance. Here we go Jimmy screwed up already. There you go. There's the perfect show. He killed it already. Mr. sites built sites. How's everything? Everything's fine. Appreciate your comments this fifteen million for the crew can be viewed as an advance on Columbus share of the next capital budget. We gave FC Cincinnati four million dollars as part of a three hundred million dollar project that fifteen million dollars per Columbus is part of a six hundred fifty million dollar project that will overwhelmingly be privately funded. FC Cincinnati folks were not unhappy that we did that for the crew impact. I read on the floor of the Ohio house. A text message from my friend, mayor cranley. Yeah. Saying that he wanted the money to go through to preserve a vibrant, interstate rivalry intrastate rivalry with a crew. You know, it's always tough when we deal with the funding of these private sports stadiums. But as part of an overall economic development project, how could I vote no on there's when I wrote it yet. And other important point here is that. This was part of a much larger Bill that included money for other capital projects for flood control. And Finley the state underground parking garage where are senators park money for green township, which is my home. Of course. You know, there were other things in that Bill. Yeah. It was a Lake Erie projects Bill, and that's one of the questions. I wanted to ask you both sites is if this is about lake every project Senate Bill fifty one I think, oh, how the hell. Are we going to soccer stadiums in central Ohio? Well, you know, it's a capital Bill, and we have this constitutional provision that says they'll need to be related to a single subject. So the subject of the barrel was capital money or various projects. So it was originally for Lake Erie. And they decided to national ornaments on the tree by way of capital projects correcting mistakes that were made in the previous capital budget and accomplishing this for the crew. By the way, the courts have ruled that the crew has to stay in Columbus. The owners plans to go to Austin have been foiled. And so everybody was in a relieved mode that and I don't care for soccer personally. But the soccer fans in Columbus were very much relieved to hear that the crew would be staying in Columbus. And we wanted to precipitate their ability to stay in Columbus as part of a bigger economic development project or that area of Columbus, which apparently need from drifting up much, like the argument was made here that this would be helpful to the West End in Cincinnati where the FCC stadium that will be groundbreaking tomorrow. Yeah. And I know MLS Rafat one in Austin Texas in that market because it's a growing. It's a big city doesn't really have a major league footprint there. So being I, of course, is important Columbus in addition to the Ohio State buckeyes, which of course, the buckeyes draws much as an probably draw better. No question. A lot of the NFL teams. Cincinnati included. Also the Columbus blue jackets at the NHL. This would be a feather, McCaffrey, Columbus, no doubt. But keeping them as critical and building that downtown stadium is is a way to keep them here. I guess taxpayers look at it going. Well, you know, if we weren't interested enough that they were lured by Austin, Texas. Why should we keep them here in the first place? Well, you know, I think the answer. That is the people of Ohio good sort of speak to that for years ago. When Art Modell moved the Browns out of Cleveland, the legislature pass what's called the Art Modell law, which says if any professional sports team that has received any state money or assistant. Decided to leave the state. We have the right to force them to stay by either asking them to repay all that money or giving local ownership new ownership, but you have to buy the team that was the Art Modell law passed back in the ninety my friends in Columbus invoke that law Torney general dewine invoke that law successfully. And in essence force the Columbus Crew to stay in Columbus. I think that's a little bit of a heavy hand of government. But again, if government is providing the money to these people, they should have some say in where they go, and we did it for Paul Brown stadium. We did it for the great American ballpark. We did it for FC Cincinnati. I mean on all the time. And it does give us a hook. Then to keep these teams in our great state and prevent them from running off somewhere else. I remember at the time the people of Cleveland, Art Modell could not show his faith in Cleveland. He would've been okay. Accosted shown his face in Cleveland after moving that team to Baltimore the dead of night. That was the best in the dead of night. Did just move the team to Baltimore Maryland. Okay. We're out of here. Seal later, and of course, was a sore spot for the fans in Cleveland still to this day. Art Modell, probably the most hated clevelander in the history of that's it. There's no debt on the other hand, you know, sticking to this year in Cincinnati. This may work against us. Because the Art Modell law is is decades old, and it says if you get public monies you so well articulate Bill sites, you get public money than the state or the entity has a right to make a reasonable offer to buy that franchise and keep it in in the city in which the taxpayers have so lavishly funded the stadium to make the millionaires billionaires. The only problem with that. I see is how are we ever going to get rid of the Bengals if we have that in place because how are we going to get the Bengals to go to Austin is an ultimately should be working to county. Commissioners because they brought us a lot of pain Bill sites. It's a painful season to watch starting four and one, of course, the Bengals beat Oakland yesterday. You would have thought inside the locker room they'd won the Super Bowl. When in fact, a couple of hours later, we learned they're mathematically eliminated once again at the hand of the Steelers. So for those who you look at the the lack of seats fans and seats Paul Brown yesterday. One must wonder what do we have to do to get rid of this national night? Can we make the Bengals the Lima Bengals? Well, look, I I'm a Bengals fan. I'm not a soccer fan. I'm a pro football fan. I would argue that five of the Bengals losses. This year teams will likely be in the playoff. They had a bad run of injuries. I think I think it's good to have a pro football team in our town. And I guess I'm a I'm a sucker because I say stay with the Bengals there will be good things happening one of these years as a as a fellow who went to the two Super Bowl. I can say Cleveland never made it that far. So we still have those fond memories of Detroit and Miami when our hearts were broken both times. Let us San Francisco forty Niners. But I don't wake up because Cincinnati did not want Bill Walsh that he's no good. Well. Missteps along the way. I hope they did. Apparently recently agreed to give thirty million dollars or forgive thirty million dollars obligations that the county add to them. I think it's a bad move. Well, you know, they gave up thirty million bucks. I think going to be around forever that meets chance chancellor. We have a good player. You're drinking the orange cook. I love you Bill. You're the orange Kool, you're my friend. What's wrong with you? They haven't won a playoff game in twenty nine years, for God's sakes. Marvin Lewis is going to give the reins over to Hugh Jackson at the end of the season. My God, sir. Sir. I gotta ask you, sir. What are you doing? They you're not saying this before the election. Loyalty loyalty, I know. I know I know that area those that are. Devoted to the Cincinnati Reds. They haven't exactly been. But don't want them bad. I know I know I'm saying this tongue in cheek of course, because we're believe it or not despite all those agony and anguish were better with the team here. But man, you look at the lopsided stadium teal and are trying to keep them around long. I would just like to go back. Well, not go back to win at Dan playoff game would be awesome. But you're not here to talk about that. He is a majority leader the Ohio house that would be one Bill sites and Bill voting for and I guess it makes sense now as to why you'd fun Columbus to keep the Columbus Crew Columbus as anyone from the legislature. Maybe this isn't concerned you guys Bill is far as a relationship goes with MLS, Don Gerber, and the MLS what are their thoughts on this? Or does that even matter? Well, I don't know I talked to him last. But again, that's one of the reasons why in the foreign read this letter from mayor cranley, I thought the Cincinnati people would be upset. Columbus was getting more money than FC got. But no, the mayor who's one of the architects of the whole FC deal. Wrote just very very nice. Inclusive generous christmasy letter saying that indeed he thought it was a great idea and wanted to have a long standing rivalry up and down I seventy one between the crew and the and the FC Cincinnati. So I thought that was important for my folks from south west Ohio to no, I'm not just doing this. Port columbus. I'm doing this. Because the mayor of Cincinnati who is a friend of mine, even though he's a democrat was asking me to support it. So you did a bipartisan way, I tried to have some of the Christmas spirit. Well, it's kind of refreshing that we can have bipartisanship in these tough tough days Bill sites and. Once in a while once in a while, we can do that. And I think that's the thing is there. There's obviously there's not optimal for MLS. But you know, what I think is a cincinnatian a rivalry would be great, especially in the up and coming sport of professional and Major League Soccer in that. You know, we talked about the it's rivalry week against the Browns. It's it's not really much of a rivalry and lopsided much like the Steelers the Steelers went Stevenson the Steelers come and beat the hell on us every time. There's not much of a rivalry there. The cubs won the World Series. Here's the row got a rival rivalry the cubs fans travel to Cincinnati. It looks like a it looks like Wrigley south. And so I look at this and go, well, you know, what maybe maybe there's a chance here for legitimate rivalry. Because we need something like that outside of the crosstown shootout..

This is sports fan in me asking this question because I don't know if you guys athletes ever buy into Kenna franchise be cursed kin, can we what we're looking at Cleveland year after you ever since. Art Modell took the team out of Baltimore. It has been nothing but misery for the Cleveland Browns. I how many different head coaches know quarterback survives there. Nothing. Good happens for the Cleveland Browns. They to me are the new Chicago Cubs. The cubs for one hundred years with the lovable losing cubs. Is that will we're looking at in Cleveland, do you guys athletes everything that a franchise can be cursed? Hell no crazy to people that this is still evergreen story line. Like, listen. I know it's Halloween. Tom about ex girlfriends. Stock running with this week diva curse in demons and goblins, man. But it's not the walls is not the spirits is this. Hey, we're not executing simple. Yeah. I'm the curse thing is. No, there's no such thing. Because what you may experience as a curse I come in ten years later. I didn't experience that same. I feel like I can change this whole identity of the team. So let's get it done..

"What the chargers should do. Go back to San Diego a sap, nobody in Los Angeles. Once you, the charger fans will take you back. We'll go is a great town. Will they take him back? I think so. Especially if they get a new stadium built the problem, San Diego has rejected multiple titles. The stadium, right? And I think the way you get this done is you have the NFL built the stadium and put a Super Bowl there every four years. It's San Diego you and I would still be living there if we could have made the money we make here, it's like the nicest city anywhere it. I, I think San Diego's doll, I get out, but don't you think the charter should move back there? Yeah. Well, the chargers, basically their options are San Diego where there's no public funding for a stadium Saint Louis where there's no public funding for a stadium. I mean, if dean Spanos and Alex passed away, if dean Spanos really wants the public to buy stadium, it won't be an either of those two places Qualcomm John. I don't know when the last time you've been there is it is an absolute dump. Well, does anyone San your state even use it anymore? I think San Diego's another standard ball, then you. Yeah. But this has been talked about among NFL owners and executives at the league meetings and. Seat licenses are not selling for the chargers and stadium opens. Let's face it. It's going to be the Rams stadium. Anyway, they've this thing is the chargers are actually really good. Yeah, they've, they've won a like four or five games in a row. They they have a Super Bowl contender, but they they have no fan base. Yeah. I don't know if they can go back there so despised for leaving. Right Spanos is so despised for being the guy that took the team out of San Diego didn't count on was people in San Diego, hate LA. Okay. Think about this out of LA. They'll be okay with them. Again, if Art Modell after he moved the team, the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore and renamed them the ravens if that didn't work and he had moved back to Cleveland, would Art Modell be a hero or a villain. I think the people would would be indifferent on Art Modell, but they'd be glad to have their team back. Do you think charger fan would be glad to have their team back. I boy, I think they've alienated. And they're not being embraced in LA, they're kind of stuck. Right. Well, the one thing I think they counted on that was stupid to count on was that the charger fans would follow them to LA. Oh, it's only a two hour drive. Charger fans hate LA. Maybe they should do it. Maybe they should do what the Rams did originally and go to plan Anaheim. Yeah, not terribly now the angels, that stadium they could have that. Looking out for themselves. Yeah, it'll be interesting to follow because the churches are pretty good. Alex Spanos did just pass away and who knows how the the family dynamics there. Dean is now running the show, but it is interesting that their personal seat licenses are not selling and the revenue by the way was expected to be four hundred million from personal seat licenses. They've lowered that they've lowered the prices of seat licenses, and now they expect a one hundred and fifty million dollars in four hundred fifty to one hundred and fifty million. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, it's it's. It's not at all with a bargain four fouls. Chack maze. Last week we'd smear you. Did you say, what is this me or you? It is to you. Okay. Last week, a woman in Orlando boarded her Cleveland bound frontier airlines flight. Toting a cage containing a squirrel. She did her due diligence by noting on a reservation. She would be bringing an emotional support animal. She even had the animal cleared by TSA's x Ray machine was wearing a little squirrel vest. She failed to notify the airline that her companion was a squirrel. Once on board, the woman was told that squirrels are rodents and rodents are not welcome. The woman refused to get off the flight and Orlando police were called in everyone was deplaned. So police could deal with the passengers. The flight was delayed two hours and the woman went home with her squirrel. Now, I agree with frontier meet the people shouldn't be allowed to use squirrels as emotional and think about this. A squirrel is not an emotional support, Harriet, but here's my question. Did frontier handle this..

"And give fans this free Bud Light infrared lock that once, the received the signal. Is open there are ten of these victory fridges around Cleveland there. Are, about eight feet tall, I? Mean these are full size fridges here There will be put inside first energy stadium the rest of them, will be. Put around the city and, in suburban areas where of course you need to be twenty one or older and the fridges will open regardless. Of whether the victory is at home or or on. The road now I say there's nothing wrong with. An idea of two hundred aluminum. Sixteen ounce, bottles of beer in a fridge And one spot I feel like. Gosh there's nothing that could go wrong with that it's Bud Light though, you'd have to drink the whole cooler I People who would be willing to give that a shot yeah I think. You're right I think there might be some apple that brings. Like a duffel bag out there and just tries to empty them all into his, bag but there's also something, to be said. For that community feeling maybe you don't want to be, an apple when Cleveland, finally wins by the way you know how in stadiums. All over America now they cut, off beer sales at a certain point like, a baseball game they won't sell. After the seventh, inning, bottom the seventh and in the in football. Stadiums they won't sell after say the third quarter whatever it. Is If you're wondering how you gets around the policy. Of when you're supposed to stop, beer sales it's not beer sales because they're, not selling it I love that loophole and then he's says it's up, to the Browns to distribute them at their discretion So bad it's so bad remember the dime, beer night or was it nickel beer night I wanna. Say it was in Milwaukee county stadium in? Milwaukee and it just. Dissolved into like. A medieval? Torture chamber did you see. Baker Mayfield play at all I have not yet he was impressive was he he looked, pretty damn good, he looked maybe the best out of, it so, far that the rookies I've seen here but it's Cleveland so he's. Probably going to get his you know? Lower leg. Trapped. In a. Tractor. Or something. Like that. Between now have you? Started watching hard knocked out? I haven't okay do. That okay do that, I'm excited what's your night's episode what's your solution to Cleveland Oh, I would, say bring Joe flacco over you know go to the ravens and. Just totally pill for that team pay? Whatever you. Need. To pay. And. See if. A little. Reverse voodoo works stick? There are tapes of the president using the n. word while on the set of the apprentice Mark Burnett longtime. Producer of that show and friend of the president called him to reassure him there is no such tape that, doesn't? Exist did you. Don't have to worry about it the Cleveland Browns one. Of the great teams in the NFL won a championship in. Their inaugural. NFL season as well as fifty Eighty four fifty five sixty four remember the Jim Brown years One of. The titans of the league And then, ruled around nineteen ninety-five in the owner Art Modell decides he wants to move the team and the. People of Cleveland are up in arms you're. Not taking our Brown's away from us hell. No art and he's as all right what I'll, do is I'll leave the Browns here but I'll take all of the current Browns and move them to. Baltimore and make them the Baltimore Ravens The Browns. Then went out of business essentially and then. Came back as an expansion team later on in, the ninety s and ninety eight I think they resume play in the nineteen ninety nine season since then They. Have been terrible only two winning seasons no playoff wins that's twenty years It's been a disaster on. Draft, day repeatedly for the Browns it's become like the punchline of the NFL unfortunately I love the way, that it was written up in the Cleveland dot com is the hometown paper and it said fans have endured a, lot more when it comes to a lot when it comes to Browns football the calendar rolling from one moment of despair to another infamous plays of the past in big games to the litany of quarterbacks to the winless season culminating in a frustrating frigid zero and sixteen parade, in January or something to be said for fans of teams like the, Browns though I don't feel like cubs fans are as. Happy once. They one I don't feel like Red Sox fans are happy once say one, there's something, about going on a drought for that. Long that brings people, together you know and, kind of like. An ER mentality I think that it's a little bittersweet, maybe to finally win and then and then you're the. You're the. Big time you're the you know the patriots are or whatever Peter on top, of the, hill right it doesn't have the same The feeling well last year if you remember when Philly beat, beat New England in. The Super Bowl Bud Light said they were going to buy everybody. In, Philly a Bud Light, so? They did it they got to the. Celebration parade.

"He said in there that it was a question of whether or not it was worth it to come back to play football. Was he saying his mind? I had to ask if it was worth it to come back to football or whether it was worth it to come back to play for the colts. Wondering if he played for a better organization, one that he felt maybe better care of his body. This would have had the reservations daddy had because I don't blame if he's looking at the coast like brow. I feel I doing that. Don't trust the Gano head him doing the power running game all the stuff that would further jeopardize Andrew luck. Hopefully the new regime is friendlier to him, but man, if he is not right, that organization is the organization. Next name Khalil Mack ball, Gutierez ESPN dot com. Says that all of the players on the raiders roster. MAC is the one to watch when it comes to a trait, should the rate his deal MAG. Now, if they can get first round pick and return to do, they just need to pay that man his money, they need to pay this man his money. But the thing that's so interesting about the story von is that there are reports swirling that the raiders don't have the money. They don't have the cash. They're not liquid enough to pay the second best player in the NFL which raises many questions such as. Why can't eight? What can't be organization? It's worth a billion dollars. Get a loan from someone. How does how does Jon Gruden get one hundred million dollars, but you leave him strapped for cash that does not make any sense to the one thing about it though we grew Nate, never have to lay down a forty fifty million dollar check right there. Now this is important because I think it's something you and I, we talk about in these terms. We understand it that not everybody gets the question is whether the raiders actually have the cash, not, but they're worth. Can they go into a Bank account and pull out the money necessary to pay out the boat is for men because the pay the boat is you gotta have the cash and the cash gets put into escrow. There's a reason why the raiders of moving their moving because they don't make enough money when the Browns left to go to Baltimore. One of the things that happened before was Art Modell had to take out a loan for Andre rises signing bonus because they just didn't have the cash. So this isn't a matter of them saying, no, we don't think Khalil Mack. Good enough. I don't think that's what this is. He plays one of the three most important positions in the modern NFL's quarterback left tackle impasse. He is gold at being a pass, rusher let those guys go. But if you ain't got it, just ain't got it will we don't know is say, why can't you get alone? Are you sure the Bank was to give them a loan right? Well, this, this is a great lesson in some basic sports economics. A franchise valuation is not the same as the amount of money that a franchise has any give points. And maybe that's a larger lesson about money being this figment of everyone's imagination. Fair enough what it does strike me as crazy that an NFL team. Granted, it's the same team that is leaving the city that had a very poor baseball team with similar problems in the Oakland days. It's stunning to me that the NFL and NFL team can't get a loan from some hopefully non-predatory lender, but is also be trying to get out of that stadium, right? Like if this, if this were the case, if it is and we don't know that necessarily don't you're not going to convince me this isn't Aaron Donald with the Rams where the question is, do you pay an interior linemen that kind of money. There is no question as to whether or not you pay edge rusher that kind of money you absolute. Did that do make first team all pro twice in the same year at two different positions like you pay to do..
