"Feel that WGN radio. I'm Raleigh James. As Garland green, yeah, the guy who had a hit with jealous kind of fella. Little fine version of going in circles. You know, Johnny D requested by the Friends of distinction, but I decided that we were going to go with Garland green. Yeah, Chicago's own It was originally from Mississippi. It was like the tenth of 11 children, but he moved to Chicago as a kid and was singing on the weekends while going to high school and he was overheard by the owner of a local barbecue chain who bankrolled his attendance at the Chicago conservatory of music, and he studied voice in piano and then he won a local talent show on 67 at the crocodile. And his prize was to open for Lou Rawls and Earl Hines at Sutherland, and in that audience was Joe Armstead and her husband mill Collins. And they took a liking to him as well. And they arranged for him to do a recording session in Detroit, and they went on their label, gamma records, and the rest of the system, like I said, jealous kind of fell in all that. But he was on a number of other labels, never really had another hit not only Joe Armstead, but it was some of the stuff was produced in arranged by Donnie Hathaway and he was on spring records for a while. And it just never really never really hit again, which is a shame because he was just terrific, but so much for a Garland green. All right, so 888-876-5593 88 88 rally and James is an Oregon. How are you feeling tonight, James? My anxieties are a little less stuff going on is subsiding. So good. I had handed it up with my situation and let that be taken care of and things are okay. All right, I like that. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I just wanted to on David Crosby and my phone man days I used to work in covered the Santa Barbara area 101 all the way from the Santa Barbara Ventura county line OM to king city if you know that area. Oh, sure. And since San Simon up to Hearst Castle and all that. And anyways, I won't give the street David Crosby lived on, but he lived in the solvang area. And I used to go in there and I got the meeting and he was always a very quiet man. He's always reading a book or something like that. But and his wife, he and his wife, they had a fairly modest home for what I would think would be fairly modest person with their success and stuff, but they used to grow organic garden and his wife. Whenever I worked up there, she had always go pick some fresh vegetables and give them to me and to take home. So they were whenever people think it might think I don't know, but they were pretty down to earth people and very nice people when I was around them. I would say rest in peace to the man and I liked I like the birds and I like some Crosby stills Nash but like that but yeah, so I just wanted to say you say my rest in peace to him and just his wife. Okay. Then I had a friend and I worked with when I worked in Hollywood area a guy named Kim fay. He was a coworker of mine, phone company. And he wrote a book called Hollywood unlisted. That's great. About his experiences as a phone man in the Hollywood area. And it's kind of a neat reading if you ever want to look at. I am, I am going to look for that right now. And yeah, David Crosby actually you mentioned something. He wrote a guide to Santa ynez valley. So that's out there too. Yeah, yeah. But he has this area he moved in. Now, Hollywood unlisted, huh? Yeah. All right, I want to read this. This is just, yeah, here it is, Kim fey, Amazon. Okay, what? $67. I don't want to read it that. Oh wait, there's a used one for $5 and 46 cents. Okay, I'll take that one. Well, you have to get the yeah, right, right. Ain't no $46 book in my life. All right, so let's not written by him either. Yeah. Yeah, well, here's one for $5, 46 cents, of course they're going to charge me $3 and 98 cents to deliver it, but I guess I can spring for that. It's a good book. I'll like this because this is almost $10 here. All right, so let me buy that. Checking that out as we speak. All right. I now own it. I now own Hollywood unlisted ones that come and let's see. They'll tell me I'm sure. Yeah, probably next month. So yeah, February 1st. All right, well, very good. I can wait. Yeah, okay. Well, I mean, I have my free copy, so. Well, yeah. Well, for $5 and 43 cents plus shipping, I'm going to one phone man's unbelievable memoirs and secrets some 30 years of service calls in tinseltown. All right, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You might enjoy it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, well, he lived in saugus and Palmdale in quartz hill. So yeah, I know his well, he lives up in that area and he was building all kinds of stuff. He's very artistic man. And he is building all kinds of stuff on his property. He had a couple of acres up in there. And then county came in and they said that he had tear it down because he didn't have permits. Oh no. Oh no. And so did he tear it down? Or did he fight it? Well, no, he didn't tear it down. He took the slot of the stuff out that he wanted, and then when the county sent in, they sent in a construction team to take down the take down the stuff, they damaged their equipment because it was so well built. Good. Yeah. And a friend of his, he lost the property. They took the property for fines and so he moved up into current county and moved out of LA county and moved up off of I 5. So like to actor actin or something like that, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he moved up there and the guy told him just Hardaway, you know? Okay. And yeah. Oh, good. But he grew up yeah, he grew up in Saul this area. Okay. Like that. So he knew that area pretty well. Yeah. Well, good. I'm sure that I will enjoy reading this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he referenced a lot of some of his coworkers in there too, but I don't think he did by name, but if you knew you knew the work, the worker, you know which ones he was talking about, but yeah, it was pretty interesting. So easy read. Yeah. That bad. Well, excellent. Looking forward to it. Yeah. I was going to have to do it in my situations or anything. I heard a song called lonely teardrops. Jackie Wilson. I think that now was something. Oh, an error inevitable version, but I mean, lonely teardrops is originally Jackie Wilson. That's the big hit. Yeah. But okay, so he was the original. Yeah, absolutely. And one of his biggest records, of course. My heart keeps Ryan crane, lonely teardrops. Yes. Who's this Neville guy? Aaron Neville out of Neville Phelps or something like that. Oh yeah? Lonely teardrops by Neville felt. I don't know if

"Yeah, and I think they have to take the niners to 8 and a half and take the chiefs to like plus 5. Yeah, so I have a niners chiefs teaser from earlier in the week when the lime was moving down, but it gave us the two two and a half point lines. And I think taking it then made sense. I wouldn't necessarily tease the chiefs through one. Through the mine line, I don't think you have to do that at this point. Eagles and irons is really tough to handicap on the spread. I look at eagles minus two, and I'm like, that's too much for me. Equals money line, maybe. Minus two, I don't know, one point game, you know, running it. This is a very difficult weekend a handicap on the spread. The mahomes injury with chief Bengals, and then the lack of history between niners eagles, right? We've had so many rematches, where I've been able to go back and watch and say, okay, well, these teams will do this against those, and that's not the other thing. Eagles niners is a huge unknown. And the differences in play styles and coaching staffs and how they operate makes it a really tough game to handicap. What's your favorite prop better the week? Right, so I brought it up. The niners defense against Russian quarterbacks, I think, is a big issue for them. And I think that they're also going to do a good job hassling Jalen hurts in the pocket. When Jalen hurts gets hassled in the pocket, he talks and he runs. Jalen hurts rushing yours right now over 46 and a half on FanDuel, but I love. I've got Jalen hurts rushing your eyes and just about everything I can get at him. It hurts to score a touchdown on all sorts of fandoms plus one 25. I think that's a mistake. Again, talking about between the 20s, I want the eagles to be a true running team. Let the office of line come part off the ball. Win that way. Well, once you get inside of the ten, yeah, you're not going to start doing as much RPO stuff. Now you're really just going to run it between the tackles. That's the eagle's biggest advantage in this game. AJ Brown and devonte Smith against the ongoing war absolutely is an advantage. The biggest eagles advantage is when they let their line come hard off the ball in the running game against this niners front. The niners lost DJ Jones, right? Like elite defensive tackle nose tackle run stopper, this off season, and did not replace them. Jawon kinlaw, first round pick, they wanted to be this guy. He's not. He struggled so much against the run Eric Armstead is like a great run defending defensive tackle, but he's the only guy in the interior who's like actually a big and large and wide and tough to move. They are eminently movable between the tackles. So I think you're going to see running backs and Jalen hurts rushing quarterback score for the eagles when they get down low. So hertz over rushing yards hurts anytime touchdown. I think the eagles win it on the ground. Eagles -13 and a half plus three 40. Oh, brother. That's your black purdy blows up game. Yeah. I could see it. I think if we get a blow, I think we're more likely to see it in chief spangles. Because eagles niners is a situation where both defenses can get them back in the game and kind of get stopped and it's going to be a little bit more like punching back and forth. Chiefs bangles, I can see a position where I lean chiefs this game, but for both offense as I can see takeover games happening in a way that I'd be surprised to see fully for this eagles matters game. Pretty interception is minus one 64 on FanDuel. I look for the two interception bet and they don't do it. They don't have like super negative bets, I guess, just in general. Has that been fun to do like a four interception plus 500, something like that would have been a fun flyer. Is that over under interceptions? No, no, no. For him to throw one interception, I think, is minus one 64. Right, so there's no zero interception option? I don't think so. If

"After giving up 44 points to the Kansas City Chiefs on October 23rd, the forty-niners defense has been on an absolute tear this past month, just giving up an average of ten points per game while not allowing a single point in the second half, and of course winning each of those games. Now they have managed to achieve this without one of their team captains and defensive lineman Eric Armstead who announced yesterday that he feels great and looks forward to playing on Sunday. I'm excited to get back, you know, regardless of who we're playing, you know, missed a lot of time. But yeah, it's gonna be gonna be a fun game, you know, high powered offense, a lot of eyes gonna be in this game too. Top teams in the league. So it's definitely gonna be a lot of fun playing in this one. That audio courtesy of NBC sports Bay Area, it will be a welcome site for 49er fans as Armstead tried to play through a plantar fasciitis injury in his foot to start the season and in week four against the rams suffered a hairline fracture in his ankle, forcing him to miss the last 7 games. Now what kind of player are the forty-niners getting in his return? Here's forty-niners defensive coordinator D'amico Ryan's after practice yesterday. We get an all pro player who can help our defense. That would be a huge lift for us. So I'm excited for arms day and just him working his way back in. And he will be a much needed asset as Miami possesses one of the more potent offenses in the NFL. As for the forty-niners offense, there's a chance they may be without star wide receiver deebo Samuel, he has dealt with a hamstring issue, a majority of the season, including their last game with the saints, but after missing yesterday's practice with the quad injury, Kyle Shanahan said this morning that as of now, it will be a game time decision and he has to prove

"And then you think about some of the injuries you mentioned, Eliza Mitchell's heard again, CMC was seen on the sidelines dealing with a knee injury, didn't look completely healthy. Debo has been in and out of the lineup as he deals with this quad injury and Jimmy G took a weird hit. On his knee and kind of hobbled around late in that game. For me. But the one thing that's interesting about that. Forty-niners were pretty quick to point that out. So I do wonder if he wore a brace during the portion of practice that the media didn't have access to. On a Wednesday, he's thrown in boxer shorts, basically. Everybody looks good throwing in short, but I'm sorry. For me, the path here is you want to attack Miami through there. And it wouldn't shock me in the least that Kyle Shanahan smartly just says, hey, I'm going to come out here. And I'm going to throw the ball. And that's where Miami's been vulnerable. Injuries have hit the secondary Byron Jones hasn't returned Brandon Jones has the ACL, Nick Needham towards Achilles, xavien Howard isn't the guy mainstream media portrays him to be in terms of true coverage skills. Certainly a ball hawk. He's a magnet for the ball. We saw this past week where the ball just found him and he walked it into an end zone after a fumble. But all told the dolphins are 25th in schedule adjusted past defense. And where they really struggle and have for what feels like a decade now is defending tight ends. This has to be a George kittle game. We can't just make him an inline blocker, even though he's great doing that. We gotta target George kittle in this game. Miami's bottom three in the league in terms of receptions and touchdowns allowed to the tight end position 31st and catches aloud to tight ends per game. You want to throw it on Miami. Here's another thing that's kind of interesting to me. It's possibly not the best thing for the forty-niners, right? We saw last week stylistically against the saints. That the best approach is you want to play man coverage against the forty-niners. And I think that will sound crazy to some when you think about the weapons right debo, why you kiddo. But if you really break down the tape and you talk to all the guys that do and mesh it with the data, depot and IU aren't the best creating separation against man coverage. And Jimmy G is far better finding holes against zone. If you look at Jimmy G's EPA against zone and two ice shell, he's a top three quarterback. Against man coverage, Jimmy's EPA dips slightly to average below average. The dolphins play ridiculous amount of man. So that's something to consider here as well. This game for me were a lot of off the cuff random thoughts and you and I have talked about this total and it's one of the more fun games of the week. From what I've seen and heard, even though we've seen a slight tick back downwards once it appeared toron Armstead may try to battle this thing out for the dolphins at left tackle. What I've seen in her is the forty-niners are the side. Let's see where the market heads. The total is just a ball of confusion from this perspective. I think the casual better or even the guy who fancies himself semi sharp. She's the dolphins and forty-niners and thinks about the offensive minds that Shanahan and mcdaniel are and it's below the key of 47. Over. Can't wait. And then you start to think about everything we just talked about, Todd, right? Dolphins offensive line beat up. Dolphins offense, playing a good defense for the first time since the jets, even the Steelers held them in check without TJ watt and the dolphins are probably unlikely to run. You're having these short quick passes and Mike McDaniels knows the forty-niners run game inside and out and the forty-niners weapons are a little bit dinged up and Jimmy G's worse against me and coverage. All of these things make for a quiet contrarian under here. And then you factor in potentially some of the weather. But boy, I'm a little nervous that this could turn into a past funnel game. With neither team able to run, and that's what's kept me off the under to this point. If I know what you know, but you know that I know that you know, you know, what does that mean? Are we all end up in a stalemate in a prisoner's dilemma? And I think those are the kind of things that we love to watch as football fans and when let's look, let's be honest. The NFL hasn't offered that much in the way of intriguing games on paper, leading up to it. We've had plenty of close finishes. We highlighted that on the Monday show, the entertainment value of this league brings. But I think leading up to a game, there's not one that's been more anticipated for you and I over the last couple of weeks than what we're going to see in San Francisco. Knowing that, hey, if things were to break the right way, maybe it is a Super Bowl preview as well. Should Miami be able to navigate through a much more rugged NFC than the road to forty-niners could encounter in the NFC. Speaking of Super Bowl previews, a game that decided the AFC champion last year will be on full display Sunday afternoon with the Kansas City Chiefs. Change in venue, they'll head into Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. You're looking at Kansas City, a modest one and a half point favorite in some shops.

"Kind of look specific to the matchup. You have your starting right tackle Austin Jackson. He's out. You're starting left tackle to run Armstead. Left with a peck injury last week. They're very happy. It's not going to require surgery. Everyone thought he was going to be out. Tehran claims he's playing this week. He's aiming to play. Who knows if he can play? Who knows for how long he can play? But the forty-niners defense is starting to get back full strength. Their Armstead Eric Armstead looks like he's going to be back. And even with all of these injuries, along the D line for the forty-niners this season, they're still top ten and pressure rate and well below average in blitz rate. And that's the combination you're looking for. You also look at some of the paths here offensively. Forty-niners defense second best in schedule just Russia efficiency. So this has all of the makings with some of those offensive line injuries. Where Miami doesn't have the ability to run the ball. So this turns into the short, quick pass attack for Miami. And that really hasn't been the MO for Mike mcdaniel's offense. He's actually been a little bit different than what they employed last year with the forty-niners because he's a good coach and kind of shifts things based upon the skill set of his players and the strength of his players. They've been pushing the ball down the field a little bit more Miami. As opposed to what the forty-niners offense did last season where a lot of it was yak based. So can you push the ball down field in a situation like this where you're potentially without your left tackle or is far less than a 100% you're without your right tackle, you're not a good pass blocking offensive line to begin with. We know the issues that too has had sometimes when he's contacted and falls to the ground. So it's really got to be this quick short pass attack. The other thing that you hit perfectly at the top, but it's worth kind of expounding on a little bit is the step up in class. Since week 6 that dolphins have played the Vikings, lions, bears, browns, Texans, and steelers defense without TJ watt. And when you make the manual adjustment for the Steelers defense without watt, they go from a fringe top 5 defense to a bottom ten unit. In that scenario, the dolphins haven't played an above average defense since week 5. That's an average schedule of defenses. That's 20 7th since week 6 that Miami's face. Now you get a top 5 forty-niners defense that's trending healthier. And to your point, there's a lot of familiarity with what you're doing. Even if you're making these subtle tweaks, even if you're doing things a little bit different with the route trees and concepts. Fundamentally, to your point at the top, there's a lot of incest. So it's very difficult to gauge who's going to have the edge with the incest, even though that boy that line does not sell. Well, you mentioned to there's no advantages. No, there never is. When you mentioned to it, by the way, and how prolific he's been throwing down field this year. Third longest average pass length this season, 83 of one 23 for nearly a 68% completion rate on throws of ten plus air yards this season best by any player in a season going all the way back to 2006 when tracking on some of those metrics began. Highest third down passer rating of 145.6 in a season since 1991 and he could be the first dolphins quarterback to lead the NFL in passer rating since Dan Marino laces out back in 1984. Now, when we look at the other side of the ball, clearly the forty-niners offense, not going to be operating at full speed, Christian McCaffrey, a little bit banged up, no Elijah Mitchell, deebo Samuel, dealing with lingering remnants of a hamstring injury, but when you're Miami and you're trying to devise a game plan, even when you have a lot of question marks in your secondary, you're still good against the run. And if there's any coach in the NFL that knows the forty-niners offensive personnel better than Kyle Shanahan, it's the dolphins head coach Mike mcdaniel. Yeah, I mean, again, this game has just been like racking my brain for two weeks any time I kind of get away and I just start thinking about this game and you get some good Intel based upon who two coaches are and some of the things we have access to. And so you just are waiting for this cat and mouse game to unfold and I can't wait till it gets here because clogging my brain quite frankly. I think the familiarity factor might actually be the inverse of what people are thinking that's kind of what I've arrived at and it's that Mike mcdaniel was the run game coordinator for the forty-niners last season. He knows the forty-niners run concepts. He built them. But you know they're bolts building encounters to everything, right? They're both remembering back to all the conversations they've had and trying to find that tiny little sliver of information. They can use to design something specifically for this week. It's just going to be wild to watch this. Hopefully the weather is not impactful. It does look like there's a chance for this game to be real, real wet. So you'll have to keep your eyes peeled to the forecast there. And I hope that's not the case because it could hinder the ability for this game to be really, really good. But like the forty-niners, the best part of the dolphins defense is their ability to stop the run to your actual question at the top there. The dolphins are top ten and EPA per Russian rushing success rate aloud. The familiarity with the forty-niners run concept should probably help here too.

"The forty niners defence is much closer to the twenty twenty version that rogers torch then than the twenty nineteen version. That just again made him pack it. In through two games against the lions and the eagles whose win totals closed a combined. Ten point eight wins. San francisco's defense is below average in both pass rush win rate and run. Stop win right even when you back out. Garbage time from week one against the lines. The forty niners shade above average and overall defensive efficiency. I fully expect to foreigners. Come out right. Play their play. There too is safety. Look that's all the packers. Offense is seen this season and You know until they prove that they can consistently beat that look teams are going to keep doing it and so it just means the packers offense going to have to take what they're given hit. Aaron jones out of the backfield like we saw monday night. Used big bob. Don have a great route runner and davante adams do more work underneath and maybe just kind of handing it off. Aaron jones isn't a bad thing. A forty nine hundred eleven nine explosive runs in two games. Seventeen percent explosive. Run-rate allowed second worst in the league. The concern you mentioned is the protection up front for green bay without david bahktiar. Certainly nick bosa and a healthy. For now deformed can can present some issues. There neither played in the game last season. And that's why it's pretty likely that you're going to see more of the short passing in ground game early but the reason for the forty niners defensive. Regression are some of the injuries you mentioned. We know that jason brett is out for the year. That moseley missed last week. That green laws out for a bit but also some of the guys are actually suiting. Up aren't close to one hundred percent. Eric armstead's playing through an abductor injury. He's not remotely close to a hundred percent jay. Ken lies in knee issue. That is not healing right. He's playing with asleep and embrace. He's only been able to get out forty two snaps in two games so this is a a pretty water down defense from what was expected to be out there and i would think that matt leflore comes with a pretty good script than a good game plan and all signs point to green bay having maybe not as much success as last year but something similar and john mentioned the position taken on the total here. Todd and i kind of just wanna paint that picture for potentially how strong it is because not only. Is this. Just a move from forty. Eight to fifty. The game was dummied down when it reopened forty eight to the key of forty seven and then it just got blasted. And that's why we're now at fifty so you got to think about this. Move in terms of one. There was enough value in it to blow some bucks to get this down to forty seven and two. That's a key number so it took some some even more bucks to get that off the key of forty seven to fifty. And i don't know where it will go from here. Fifty one is obviously another important number. If it gets to fifty one and will probably tell you all you need to know. It's the sunday night game. I think the pack The the The public will probably also gravitate towards the over here. And that's why it's important to get out. Maybe pro betters set up a situation where they're over forty seven and you can come back and maybe go under fifty one hundred fifty one and a half. We'll see but that's why you you make these moves to put yourself in. The best position to win. Should have ample opportunity for those folks relying on fantasy options in the sunday night game. The one i'd be most concerned about brand-new seems to be the completely forgotten. Man in the san francisco offense finally did get on the statue with one catch last week in the win against the eagles george kit although an deebo samuel i mean these guys are doing a ridiculous amount of damage in terms of what we've seen for run after the catch. A lot of the reasons you highlighted. They're talking about jimmy garoppolo. Low intended air yards. Put it in the hands of your skill position. Guys let them go out. And then come we eight. He's you know playing thirty snaps the game. No that's probably not going to happen. He's probably gonna play them around fifteen twenty snaps for the rest of his career per game But he's ready to go. I saw him live at the joint practices that they had with the chargers and forty niners. The guy actually got out there playing eleven on eleven and he looked really well. Obviously you hold him out of the preseason because what the hell you you need a d four pass rash or preseason game that you ran that in eleven on levin's already the difference is he's not allowed to take down the quarterback in those joint practices in the preseason game he can That's the only difference there you basically want to see his get off and you wanna see his banned from his defensive end position. He show that in the joint practices during eleven on. Levin's is ready to go absolutely and i'm excited from to be ready to go. I had heard through other media outlets that you know he may have retired. Injury was more serious and he wasn't ready to come back. He's worked his way back and i'm very happy for him to do so. The niners trying to reap the benefits of that and they redid the contract for a reason again. Which kind of gives me hope for june heard. Maybe rehab in mali. Back to full health. But we'll see how that richard healthy red shirt. That's what i'm calling it. Yeah that's kind of what it looks like before in on defense should be able to dominate. We just mentioned we mentioned the pass rush. We know about friend warner. We know about the secondary. We talked about it with josh norman jason verita in these corners. I'm sorry these corny receives. Why receivers you know tara williams. Amman rothstein saying brown was. You're those two best guys i mean. Who are these people khalif. Raymond tom kennedy could drill hodge and quintas. Safest like trinity. Benson couldn't see. Because i knew who he was because he played at. Wisconsin was a guy that i figured. We'd go late in the draft. He did but this. This wide room does not fear in anybody. Tj hodgkinson's pry pass attendant of the t. George cadle iowa products. That's somebody to watch out for in the running back room. We don't know what's up with the andrea swift. Who's battling injuries most of camp and then jamal williams formerly of the packers so again offensively th. There's nothing here that scares me versus this defense on the other side of the ball dan. Campbell spoke very highly of deebo. Samuel spoke very highly of call shanahan. And how he likes to use eye candy and dress things up verses a defense another small prediction here leading receiver on sundays. Be deebo samuel over one hundred receiving yards for deebo samuel on sunday fully. Expect that i think gang came a fully expects the jet sweeps reverses the bubbles. Whatever deebo can give you. He's going to give it to you on sunday. Anything on defense. Where you with the lions man. I i look at that With deal samuel. I love. I would love that matchup if i have deebo samuel and fantasy football because when you look at what they have. It's their linebacking core. alex anzalone. he's not good. He's good Jamie collins is only good in bill belichick system or not system but with bill jack in the new england patriots. Take him out of the patriots building. He's a below average player And so you're going to have those your two inside linebackers. If you're the detroit lions yes he kyle. Shanahan could run those horizontal jet sweeps all day. Because neither one of those two linebackers are sideline to sideline linebackers and call shannon's and be able to pick apart this defense through the middle because they are not strong through the middle of their defense. Tracy walk the third at free safety at strong safety. You've got we'll harass another player. I like jeff ikuta coming out of college at corner but he was not it last year. Right lions so you know you're twos things could change but this does defense. They have a lot of holes lot of holes That they gotta fill will shannon's yeah. He just runs jet suites with deebo all day like it was the rams game or the patriots game last year. There's a ton tons of yak yards to pick up against his defense because they're not sideline to sideline players and be year one with the new head coach. And it's not like this defense was top five defense before Before the new regime took over. So yeah there may be some growing pains in when you have kyle shanahan week one. That's definitely going to be a part of the growing pains because he could have a hell of a game plan for defense like this is not sideline aside line. Who's not very horse. Who who can't play horizontally very well tell they probably even Vertically very well so cow shannon. He's in have field day whether he wanted to be. Deebo kittle or i you could literally kinda like what they say out there. Choose your fighter. Choose your fighter as your weapon. if you're shanahan. Yeah if you're a you know if you're one of those guys who got a quarterback laying your fancy drafts and you don't like the current quarterback. I probably suggests dreaming jimmy garoppolo in this game. I don't know that's just me. I'm one of those guys i usually. I try to find a streaming quarterback depending on a match up. That could be one where you could reap the benefits. Twenty twenty five points at at jimmy. Garoppolo would be ideal. I'm not a fantasy expert. But i've done that before it's it's it is helpful to stream sometimes The only guy that kind of interested in looking at this entire game on defense for the lions is. Melanie got to see him in person at the senior bowl like everything about him. He's a really good pick for the lions. It was a guy that. I hope that we're going gonna take but they did not. They went with a They went with trae sermon. And obviously aaron banks in those rounds so it's a team that's lacking in town. There in rebuild mode is why matthew stafford got traded they rebuilding all over again. It's just not a winning organization so the niners should be able to go.

Just whoever to get easier matchup at just how much that what really makes nick bosa Potential superstar if he's not you know some people would consider superstar. Is that you. He makes everybody around him. That and i think that's it. If you look into just another player you know. Jimmy's not that level. You can make everybody around him better. You probably will ever get. "There for those pass rushing snaps to still be available to work in occur a dj johm some res hers and especially if they're winning more this season than they were last year. That means there's there's gonna be a higher pass rushing snaps available opposed to say the teams running the ball to roll out the clock in the fourth quarter But once again my favorite to win. That job is based off what he did last year. And it's not one of those things where he was a one year wonder he had pretty good seasons before and i think kirsch is one of those guys you put them in a good location. And he's in he's in a ball out he and he's going to have that help that he had in carolina like you said he had a brian burns out there while he's got a nikko sow here. He's got eric armstead out here. Who's really good. You know defending the run. And then he's got a running mate like giovane qianlong. Who's gonna be in there with him. So i think that help out. Yes oh dots and make on kerr's three thirty four kin laws over three hundred himself about three ten and pull. These guys are athletic. Like kerr's a big man like that's something. Dj jones gets a lot of hype. Around is like being athletic will. So izak kerr zach curd. Barely his speed is a five dot eight in. Dj jones was a five dot four. So they're right around the same athleticism scale but curses a bigger dude. He's bigger dude. So i i'm going her probably one marite hers probably to dj jones three. But i think at the end of day all these guys are gonna get their snaps You know somewhere around. Maybe maybe you know kerr gets over. Two hundred pass rushing snaps. Herskowitz gets over two hundred passing gas bradley. Dj jones gets around that one sixty marker so but which is which is quite a bit. If you're the number three guy in one tech one sixty you take that day. Yeah the nour's earn a you know. I hate this term but the the moneyball this those tackle position this one tech three tech. They're gonna they're gonna moneyball this thing here to get you know they're going to optimize like we talked about with the running backs right. You wanna rv at at our bbc running back by committee so no abc nose tackle by committee or defensive tackle. Why committee it just makes a whole bunch of cens- long gone are the days of deforest. Buckner having take thousand seventy seven snaps right. You wanna have rotation if people remember the Twenty seventeen philadelphia eagles. They had a rotation of eight or nine guys is a big part of why they won the super bowl the niners in two thousand nineteen they had a rotation of eight or nine guys part of why they went to sue bull. The niners actually deniers. You know they have. They've they've they've created this healthy depth and healthy rotation. I'm gonna ask you a question. Do you think the niners are prioritizing in interior defensive line pass rush as opposed to x. Here defensive line pass rush. So do you think they're valuing the defensive tackles more than they're they're valuing their defensive ends. Because i think you and i both agree that the niners are very thin at the edge position do you think they expect more pass rush interior wise as opposed to the edge. I'm gonna say they're more financially involved on the edge so if you're more financially involved on the edge you're prioritizing that and eric armstead edge guy you know he's still here. Jordan willis is one of their money ball pickups there and i think he's a lot better than suspenders as games. Oh that's true. But they also win. In paid a impede samson become i count i count them as an edge rusher. I think that's what his beyond this team nick. Bow south there. So there's if you have a healthy for its up and say you know. Just magic world Blue skies son al. You know in this fantasy world default healthy. So if you have a d- ford eric. Armstead nick bosa samson yukon and then jordan willis po suspension. There's five guys. I feel comfortable with on the field. Oh and then arden key arden key. I think he's a solid sleeper as sixties. Okay so i think. I think they're pretty deep as well Without going because we're talking about an interior they have five. Well armstead kind of mixed arm stake. You could count him as an interior. Count him as an age So i guess we could say five each. There's five th thirty five each on the interior anti-itch the five i'm saying on the edge is deformed one Bosa to abby. Con three in willis four. Well yeah. I'm trying to paint the picture different because i know what the answer is. The death is bigger on the interior. But i'm still comfortable with what they have on the edge. I'm gonna push-back. I'm not comfortable with what they have. The edge so ardently as like a fifth rotation guy on the edge of i mean of course you wanna rotation right like are we expecting arden key to give you seven eight nine sacks or really expect to get three sex out of him you know is a jordan type situation. If he's number five guy than i think. Yeah you should be comfortable with three sacks. I think it will be huge. But if he's your number three guy and he's only getting three sacks thin that's where you get sour. I don't think we can expect arden key as a as a number three guy On the edge where it gets tricky to have this debate is like where do you place. Armstead is obviously nick. Bozo could get ten. I think bianca get six D ford if he does play this season i think he could get six willis. I think yes five. I think he's capable to get five in a season last year. Three at three limited snaps which is which is fine. But i i guess. I guess my question i think they still based on how the operated i feel that they have put a value very high value on interior. Pass rush. yeah whereas low pressure based on bring. Dj back you get that kerr you bring in mo hers you are really high on kevin givens from what they tell us right. You can lineup armstead inside the way he did with with buckner in two thousand. Nineteen next of kin kim. I really think they're expecting this interior defensive line to be the strength of this team overall and one i i hope i hope it goes back and give us twenty sacks right like i that like tj yeah exactly but are we.

"So one of the parts that i was wondering is so dairies. Leonard he is reportedly going to get a four year contract. I wonder why warner chose to go. The five year out is he. You know. I'm sure he can still bank in on the second contract after a third contract. I should say after this. But it'll be it'll be curious to see how this by that once we get the contract details to see what the cap hits are. So i was gonna wanna know you dump it in the forty niners probably wanted the fifth year added to that the spread out that signing bonus right to that signing half million use with that by five years it tax on like roughly billion four nine for strapped against the salary cap. This season have to try to lower that number. Might guess they asked them fifth year warrant probably prom obliging their new contract thirty one or whatever he'd be invited. Hey let us spread this out. And we'll give you forty million guaranteed dill tag. Ill like what what are you. What's the argument there so now that that is free. I'm glad you said that because that is a big deal. So what do you think the cap hits are going to be. Because they are against the cabinet is going to be pretty tight so you think it's going to be under like five six million because gidel armstead all their deals. They look big but the first year. They're pretty affordable. Even trent williams is his deal was very affordable last year and then the second year it tends to jump and then the third and fourth years when they really ballooned right so if you just took the signing bonus money a forty million dollars assuming. There's no avoidable. Ghost years invited them by five. So that very lease the eight hundred i believe. And then attack on whatever. His base salaries Better minimum around a million. So we're at nine million and then you tack on some roster bonuses excited expected to be somewhere in the nine million dollar range of a math is right at least in the first year and then it would just it would increase as years go. His base salaries would agree right. And that's a couple of a you garoppolo's contract off the books season. Hopefully and then you also get an increase in salary cap so combination of brandon basically everybody's Armstead's kittles trent williams read warner's in all in all aspects. Trae lance. come in on this really now you contract in takeover play well for team is ready to contend so before diners made it pretty clear that they have their core players based on who they paid..

"But no, they like They will, um Which you know, whatever. I'm just, you know, I'm just trying to go through the position here. Um It's tough because there's a lot of safeties. Um So Maybe we could be freed from our Marcel Harris. Hell, that's that's what I was thinking. Maybe, like veteran Tavon Wilson beat him out. But, you know, we thought that would happen. Like last year, Um, with the guy who I can't remember his name and didn't play it all. So you know, it shows that we Um, who who Surprise you. What? When you went out to O t a s, and you're looking around, and I mean my guys already Jimmy. He looked like he was slinging. It looked pretty darn good. I liked what I saw from Lansing and rookie minicamp. Anybody surprised you would all just kind of laying eyes on him for the first time in a minute? E was sort of surprised. Um, you know, Elijah Mitchell had a lot of distance the receiver again like we We've got such limited reps. But I really really liked the way he had out of the backfield. Um He's gonna beat somebody on a wheel route, and it's going to be embarrassing this year. Um, like if you get him, and it's sort of the Kyle you struck thing where he sort of sneaks to the side and then goes down the sideline. And then there's just like a pocket of space and he gets wide open into Mitchell's going to get that sort of play, and it's going to be really embarrassing for probably a linebacker who shouldn't be covering him. He sums Use incredibly fast, and he's so he's not his tiny on DSA. Oh, he's tough to tackle to, um, we're sort of like, you know, one of those like politico. What is it machines where it sort of bounces around. Sort of like that, from the price is right tackle him and he's going to be really fun to watch. Um, you know, soon he stays healthy because running back is a horrible position where you just get injured all the time. I have no idea why animal we're gonna play it like a legitimately at this point, like you're never gonna get paid. I mean, I guess you get paid millions of dollars, but never like tens of millions of dollars. Unless unless you play for the Dallas Cowboys. You know, like the way that they've done, where he moster is pretty much how every team should be treating their running backs and that is to do them dirty at all points, just what it is. There might be a conversation we had about. Most are not making the team but is that is that way too far out because they do have if sermon looks really good, right? Yeah, like they're going to get rid of most of it at the end of the year anyway, maybe they get out ahead of it. It's not out of the realm of possibility. Um, and if they get really desperate need to create money for Julio Jones, and they really don't want to touch Armstead, and they really don't want to touch Ward. Um There's there's definitely are out there, but he's still so damn good when he's healthy, like it's It's something where he paints three million And he is like what he showed in 2019. I don't. I think it's just irresponsible to cut him. Um, but it's not out of the round the possibility, especially if he picks up an injury in camp or something. Here like this is just gonna be a thing all your long. We've got a deeper running back room. Maybe Wilson is coming back quicker than expected. Um, I don't I really don't think that happens, but it's you can't rule it out. Are you feeling about the defensive line? Obviously, that is where this team's identity has lied for years now, and we have a new defensive coordinator here in Santa Claire and S O. Maybe things have changed in the depth without Nick Bosa there. It doesn't feel a strong as one would inherently believe you don't have Nick Bo say he's still in Florida. How do you feel about just kind of the Overall rotation that could be happening there on the defensive line going into a season where they're expecting to win, and if they're gonna win, they need to be able to get to the quarterback. I like it. I think it's pretty deep. I mean, you could make an argument. They could add another defensive end. Um, but I think it's fairly good rotation. You know Eric Armstead. That is best when you know there are other people on the line doing things which you know is maybe a reason why you're like, Why did we pay him $21 million a year but pointed dream on Green scenario. Right. He's not going to be as bad as he was last year. I just think there that was, you know, I was talking to a couple of players the other day, and it's like you really like, kind of forget. Weird and just awful. Last season was like this room, a mental health perspective. They had to go to Arizona on short notice. They were literally living in their hotel rooms, not like able to leave for anything other than playing football. And then they sucked. Oh, you know, that's that's hard. That's hard to know. You're right, man. That that is a good way. It is incredible. I will maintain. I think that as more time as we get fully out of this bad boy, we don't have to wear a mask and anything is kind of ridiculous. We think back on Oh, that weird time. And the world was on fire, like will be like. Damn. How did that team not completely rupture? I mean, they kept playing hard and they had, like, five weeks with nothing going on. They really did on DSA. I got off on attention. You're asking my defensive and it's a good chance that I appreciated them. Right it is. It's just a really rough season last year, so I am willing to like that. A guy like arms It's and flack is. He was one of the few guys that's that's stayed healthy and you're just sort of plane. Do you think he got a chance? But you know, deep down that it's over pretty early. Ondo. So I do like their deaths this year..

"Some capacity. And you know that got Jalen Ramsey. Now that got Aaron Donald on defense. They couldn't do a whole lot with Matt Stafford. Now they don't need first round picks toe fortify that offense, because Stafford's going immediately upgrade them in a way that he really would have immediately upgrade the San Francisco 40 Niners. And now the 40 Niners are once again stuck. Having the fourth best quarterback in the division. So what's interesting about this to me? Is everything you just said about the Rams is sort of counter toe. What Kyle Shanahan and John which have done at least in the short time that they've been a productive and successful team, like I would say they had a slow ramp up because of the Jimmy Garoppolo injury. Then they get nicked Bosa. And clearly, that was the start of okay, Now we've got a little window. We've got a period of time here. Where we can go compete for a title. The Rams have done it since John like they showed up three times in four years. They've been to the playoffs. One time They were the number one seed and they get the buy, and they get bounced out out of the division around the next year. They go to the Super Bowl, then it down here and they want a playoff game. This year they were back in. And if they'd had a quarterback maybe would have been a bigger problem for teams and in an NFC that was kind of wide open. Tell me in the playoff structure, competent quarterback I'm telling you until the hotshots legend E told you that John McBain that Should we very often to go with him over Jared Goff and your counsel. Dude, I got my thumb fixed like I'm out here with a swollen thumb, dislocated finger willing to try to go win football games, and he's going with John Woolford anyway, then got steps in and wasn't terrible in the game. I guess my point here is the Rams are basically saying we'll go all in every year. If we've got a quarterback that can win games, and really, that's the most Sustainable way to be competitive Each and every year is to have an elite quarterback will continue to pour money into this roster, turned it over. If we need to trade Brandon cooks after acquiring him, signing him to an extension, we don't care about the golf extension. Where's the 40? Niners rather than Hey, DeForest Buckner and figure it out later with Derek Armstead opted to go the other way to say we can't spend that much money on one player despite being the game record that he is, even though they're sort of built in the same capacity, and in the same model that the Rams are. They opted to go get a young guy instead. What do you think about those two different sides? I think it's They're kind of counter active to each other. However, you can. You can find success with both models. I guess I think I prefer the Rams model..

The first tick Tok on full Squad gaming page just says, hey, I'm Brady and this is Jennifer and Ben were on your for you page because this week we quit our jobs to start our very own gaming company. There's no mention of energy anywhere. It's also not mentioned in the bio or the logo of the tic toc Channel Energies. Is however the top comment on almost every single video on the page as they're always quick to it as you can imagine and I want to be clear. It's not like energy is hiding anything here. They just took a chance by not immediately incorporating them renamed to create a more authentic approach and it's worked out really well full Squad is over six hundred thousand followers in under one month Sports Business Journal is Adam Stern post an article yesterday and the connections between energy and full Squad gaming and that's the first major coverage in Esports. NFC West: Who will unseat the 49ers?
"So glad to be joined by Candace Silva of the rams wire as we go around the NFC west try to figure out who's going to unseat the forty Niners if they can be unseeded at the top of the division cam covers the the rams the rams who apparently are the hot bat right now to win the Superbowl at thirty to one what the hell's going on their camp yeah apparently they were the most popular Super Bowl bet of the last I think there's some were the bachelor come in anywhere on the rams won the Superbowl which is surprising because they've done nothing in the past okay two months to really bolster their claim as a Super Bowl contender in it's been a rough offseason for them so they got a bounce back in to see them as a Super Bowl favorite or not people will favor but to see so many people jumping on the bandwagon for them to win the Superbowl surprising I mean obviously they were just in the Super Bowl now might about a decade ago by our current time frame standards but it was two seasons ago and they still have the same quarterback they still have the same head coach where has it gone wrong we know what happened last year it in fact but if if people are buying in why would you say don't hi this is biggest issue right now I was really surprised that they essentially ignored the the office of identity try to remake it or bring in much talent really on the opposite line this offseason they refinance or what works best it brought back Austin blight who could play guard and center I'm so really they're sticking with the same group that they had last year there's a lot of competition really the only position that sat on the opposite wanted at left tackle with what danger what work right but the other four spots where they're gonna be competitions with Bobby Evans and rob Stein at right tackle Austin Blake and Bryan Alexander in the guard position is kind of just a mishmash of players who are relatively unproven at the NFL level so I would say that's the biggest issue switching Todd Gurley out for can makers they hope is going to be an upgrade at least hopefully in the in the explosiveness department because we do the regular Todd Gurley last season and he kind of seems like he's past his prime with the old me injury in right usage so they hope that with the improved often combined with these guys developing the younger guys and then a a better run game they're going to hopefully get back to their roots from the twenty seventeen twenty seventeen to twenty eighteen season that also supplying plan doesn't seem like a very good one considering that they're in a division with the forty Niners who I don't think I'm being a Homer here by saying that they have a pretty darn good defense of line like that that might not be a good match up for them yeah that's one of the best defensive line principality and you're gonna have it you're gonna have such a us a big mismatch every time that these teams square off because the defense of life for forty third San Francisco so good you got Nick Bosa all the guys on the interior Erik Armstead so there's gonna be tough match ups all across the front when these teams square off twice a year and you're not gonna want to right now in blocking these guys or Bobby Evans are often blight it's it's gonna be a tough match up for all these guys what's M. brings us to the cornerback what what went down with Jared Goff I mean I don't know what it was it all just smoke and mirrors in that Super Bowl season was he figured out I mean there there's been plenty of arguments I've seen a lot of smart people say listen as soon as Matt Patricia showed how to basically not bite on the play action it was game over for the rams they still made the Super Bowl but last year was not great is there any realistic expectation around the rams that they can make it jump now with you know maybe acres and there is the full time running back yeah I I wouldn't say your golf was just smoke and mirrors in twenty eighteen I thought he was a legitimate MVP candidates for most that season and then they kind of have that by the crazy Monday Night Football game against the chiefs and ever since then he's just more grass than not been the same player it was it was he was really terrible on play action last season which was a surprise but again that goes back to the office of line you just didn't have time to to get to a second read he didn't have time to to turn his back to the defense on these armies clashing passes so that a big impact but he's a player who I know they gave them a hundred thirty four million dollars but at this point in his career he doesn't seem like someone who's going to really master the issues of the rest of the offense it's not can overcome terrible off in one place so for him in the rams to really bounce back it's going to take an improvement on the offensive line golf getting back to how he was playing in twenty eighteen and then that running game coming alive and that seems like a lot of that on because it's it's everything coming together as a cohesive unit but I mean with the talent that they do have they still look really good receivers with concocting Robert wood acres and Henderson at running back our promising and golf if he if he lives up to his contracting really pleased the way the FHS quarterback showed the ram should bounce back nicely I like Henderson he came out of Memphis right yep yep he he really was under utilized last year yeah they were kind of well I wouldn't say stubborn sticking with elderly but he just didn't get many opportunities but when he did when he did get some chances he showed his show computer production yeah if you could once against the forty Niners last season to worry bounced off a few tackles and I mean he he's a smaller guy he runs hard and he he he also I'm interested to see how they utilize them with Cammy Kerr's

Indianapolis Colts send first-round pick to 49ers for DT Buckner, release DT Hunt
"Severed Cisco Forty niners also made a big trade. They sent one of their blue chip. Defensive Lineman away in a trade deforest buckner dealt to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for number thirteen overall pick The writing I guess was on the wall for Buckner in San Francisco when Eric Armstead of the niners got a five year. Eighty five million dollar contract on Monday on Monday so they couldn't pay both of them. They chose Armstead so buckner goes to the colts. He's a big time. Disruptor West a guy that's Star and the colts at a major piece on their defensive line. Feels like a good trade for both sides really. Yeah I like this deal for both sides. I understand why the forty niners did it. They basically chose Eric Armstead's versatility over deforest buckner being more of an inside player and the colts. This is what they've been waiting for. You've got all that cap room. And they got criticized last year for not using it but they wanNA spend it on guys who weren't difference makers they didn't WanNA spend it on guys. They really have to a year later so now they had eighty million dollars. Cap Room. You go out and get deforest buckner. Making the second highest paid defensive player in football in the prime of his career. A Guy who has voted. Mvp by the forty niners of their super bowl team. This is the kind of guy you want to build around. And now you've got Quinton Nelson on one side. You've got areas Leonard and deforest buckner on the other side. You've got a pretty good secondary and you've got infrastructure. This is kind of deal. You can make because you're GM has created all that salary cap space and drafted so well that you don't have to press to fill holes in the draft or Free Agency. You can go get the best player available

ESPN Daily
Super Bowl LIV Preview
"Today ahead of Super Bowl. Fifty four we break down just what to expect when the Chiesa. He's the niners square off on Sunday. I mean at times it's Thursday January thirtieth this espn daily presented by Dell small business. We are on radio row right now. ESPN daily is in the back There are radio stations across America. ESPN shows everyone is at their booths. Interviewing players analysts celebrities stars. And we've got one here with us. Dominic foxworth radio row is madness. It always ban is but it's like three hundred people gets bigger and his crazier every year. Well Luke speaking of madness this game people having trouble picking the winner I think because it truly feels like the two best teams made it to the Super Bowl. I feel like I'm just GONNA. It was Patrick Mahomes. Because it's not GonNa be fun rooting against him. We'll be more fun rooting for him than against it. Let's start by talking about patching mahomes chiefs offense versus the San Francisco Forty Forty niners defense. Which is sort of the strength on strength matchup in this game? I think history would favor San Francisco because the recent super bowls elite defenses. Have come out on top. The two thousand fifteen Denver Broncos the two thousand thirteen Seattle seahawks. We don't need to talk about what happened near later. The two thousand eight steelers ninety six packers list goes on typically offense loses according to our friends at stats and Info so the niners are the sevens team in the last fifteen years to make it to the super bowl with fifty five or more sex the other six teams all won dominique. We've seen how disruptive active this pass rushes the secondary ranks near the top of the League in stopping deep passing as the linebackers fast they can move laterally. Which is the chiefs specialty with their sweeps and screens? And all that said tell me how the chiefs offense can still beat them. I mean I have never seen the chiefs. Offense actually be stopped in any legitimate way especially with a healthy Patrick mahomes and he is healthy. And that's the difference is when we've seen great defenses. Losing the Super Bowl. It's been all time great quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers one of the people who did I did not think Patrick Mahomes is obviously in that category. As far as this town is concerned. If you were the niners defense how would you defend Patrick Mahomes this explosive chiefs passing attack. So I think you have to mix it up. That's the best thing you can do. And you also have to understand that you're not gonNA stop them. They're GONNA make plays they're going to score points. But you need to try not to give a big play. Touchdown don't stress about them getting to the red zone but play well in a red zone which the forty niners haven't been doing which is scary. It's interesting right. Yeah the the niners defense ranks. Thanks near the top in most statistical categories this year. But you're right. They have been less. Efficient are actually been below average in the red zone. They've struggled to stop the run there. which cheese haven't really been running the ball lately? They've also struggled this season against mobile quarterbacks now that requires an enormous caveat which which is that D. Ford niners pass rusher at Kwon Alexander. LINEBACKER missed a lot of games during the regular season but you look performances against Cuyler Murray Lamar Jackson Russell Wilson. You saw those were the games in which they struggled a little bit more for what we've seen from Patrick Mahomes in this postseason is is an insane ability to take off the football as the leading rusher for his team and the playoffs so far and I think that he's always been comfortable with it now that his knee is gone a little bit unhealthier. He's more apt to take off. But I think that's less scary the him getting outside of the pocket throwing like I'd almost rather him try to run it for twenty yards. Because what happens win. He buys time against the forty niners. Specifically they're not traditionally man coverage team but everything turns the main when the quarterback starts to scramble like. That's your your scramble scramble roles as a defensive back or linebackers find closest guy and stick to them everything tires demand at that point in there they just frankly. The forty niners don't have the secondary speed speed in secondary and to be fair to them. No one has a speed and a secretary to run with McColl Hartman and tyreek hill specially with the arm. That Patrick Mahomes has the the chiefs are the best st passing team in the NFL or close to it. The San Francisco Forty niners are the best at defending the NFL or close to it. Something has to give live. How do you even begin to defend all of those weapons? especially if you're the forty niners you play a pretty simple cover. Three quarters mixed in there. Do you change it up. What do you do with Rick Chairman? You have to change it up. You can't survive and covered three. Andy Reid loves four verticals and with that speed and in Patrick mahomes arm strength and accuracy. He will eat you alive in the same with four verts. Would it really comes down to is pressure which is why I think that blitzing is a smart move. You WanNa make them get rid of the ball quickly and tackle but you're not gonNa do it every single time and if you give him one opportunity unity he can make you pay so you need to get the Turner was when you get those opportunities. I think they should be more aggressive than they've been and try to force them to get rid of the ball and make tackles. Yeah if there's been a weakness in this defense dominique. It's been the other side of the field for Richard Sherman originally weatherspoon more recently. They've been playing a manual. You'll Moseley a corner. He's been better but undeniably. That's an area of the field. I think the chiefs would like to target so much of the performance of the San Francisco Secondary. It depends on the pass rush getting home and you know as a former DB pass rushes the secondary's best friend a lot of the great statistics we've seen from the secondary can dairy are the product of this pass. Rush being so explosive a pass rush that turns into a murderer's row. Win The big four Defoe Award. DEFOREST Buckner Eric Armstead and it boasts are all on the field when those four players are playing their sack ratio. The percentage of drawbacks drawbacks in which they get to the quarterback jumps from six percent to twenty three percent twenty three percent of the time. They're taking the quarterback down So Eh my question to you is they've been able to get a lot of pressure by just rushing four. Do you think that they'll have success against a chief offensive line. That's probably one of the better offensive lines they faced aced. No now. It's just for. I don't think they can be able to stop him. The more I think about it in a way that you framed that I think made it very clear my mind is I think they're going to have to flush them out. You got to get him to run with the football or get them uncomfortable to get rid of the football. Because I do think that the chiefs offense line is good enough that they're not just going to get massacred. And then you put on top of it. The chiefs offense is not one that killed by a fact like most offenses. If you second now it's second and fifteen second eighteen it's over it's third and twelve. It's over over. It's not true for the chiefs offense so they can get pressured they could get a sack. Can Patrick Mahomes can make a play in overcome that so I think that the the worst thing they could possibly do is believe leave. Their Front for is going to be enough to stop this chiefs offense so far this postseason what we've seen from Patrick. Mahomes is a record performance. I quarterback in NFL history to throw for two fifty at rush for fifty consecutive games in a postseason. Do you think he keeps it up. And that's a difficult question because yes you can think he'll play well but we're talking about playing at historic level. I think he does keep it up and I think I've said this a lot in to the point where people make fun of me is that he's never had a bad game and that's one of the most mind blowing. I guess you can call it that you see from a guy who's who's just been starting for two years played a lot of games and there's never had a bad one like mediocre is the worst as you get out of them in in the big games. He's been fantastic gets thirteen touchdowns. Yeah no interceptions in his playoff career. And I know it's been said Ad Nauseam nor is why they are in Super Bowl last year because of off someone lining up offsides so like I've yet to see him shrivel into big moment he only seems to get bigger and until I see him Have a tough outing going to lean in favor

Speed vs. Safety: Rapid Approvals from the FDA
"Why is the FDA's rigorous testing so necessary. Well I I think you're aware that a lot of drugs fail From safety concerns we all know about getting sleepy with antihistamines. Or you know that's the actual aside side effect that comes from the action of the drug on the brain. That's at the senior centers that we would like to counteract allergy. So that's what we call pharmacologic based aced toxicity. It's an effect actually on the target. But it's in a way that we don't want it to act GOTCHA. So as we're working on very new drugs we often don't understand like where there's receptors are in God or the brain or the immune system. There's a lot of things we don't understand about the basic mechanisms of action of disease and there's lot of things that we don't understand sometimes about where the receptors are in the buddy. I mean it seems great. Yeah but that's why. I'm kind of glad if my original training and classic Comic Anthology Because you have to ask questions okay. where else is the receptor? Who else could hit end so? FDA trained to think about those nightmare scenarios of what it could do that. You don't want it to do right and ask those hard questions to make sure that we have the checks and balances right a lot of the early drugs That were used in AIDS. Patients Cause Peripheral neuropathy and that wasn't shown very well in the animal models models but it caused intense pain in the patients at the same doses that was needed for the virus. It wasn't until later that we got the protease inhibitors that really counteracted the road. And that's the basis of the lifesaving therapies that we have today I was really fortunate to be. FDA during that time when the protease inhibitor came through so switching gears a little bit what is personalized medicine. When it comes to patients like for example adjacent armstead and meal Amac? I understand that Jaycee is a twenty five year old with Lou GEHRIG's disease while meal is a young girl with batons disease who have both recently benefited from personalized medicine. He I think we have come to the place in drug development where we understand a lot more about genetics of disease so so yes switching away from viruses and into genetic Madison we have a lot of inborn errors when we learned that there is an inborn Gene that was missing in a patient has always been there born like that and as soon as we can diagnose them and with that replacement gene product or the enzyme of interest interest. We can save their lives so. LS has also been learned to be a whole series of different mutations responsible for LS Um and so you have to look at those different subsets according to their genetic diagnosis. But we also know that Batten's disease is a specific mutation and there's also something like fourteen different forms of Batten's disease that are mutations in same pathway that result in the same type of phenotype of neurological article degeneration some earlier some younger and some an older kids or adults in the case of Mula. She has two mutations that are different on both of the wheels that caused the dysfunction of a particular protein. Batten's disease six seven and there's only a handful or double handful of kids worldwide. They're known to have that particular subtitled batons and Jaycees case she has a very aggressive form of al it lasts called F s mutation and it has a particularly bad course people with F.. US typically sadly succumbed LS typically approximately a year. Because it's so aggressive. It's very hard to intervene soon enough. And there has never been a medication that could actually address the fundamental gene problems in these two cases so we need to design whole new the truck when we find the particular mutation and it turns out depending on the molecular biology and that control mechanisms around them. A tation some all of them are amenable to go nuclear type therapy and both of these girls have been their particular. Genetics have been amenable to A strategy she of using nuclear tight enter equally sadly we did not know that. JC had this particularly bad ale ass us until she was twenty five. Her family had lost her twin sister at the age of seventeen and Alex add add. Actually he contracted the symptoms of L. S. at age eleven so the two girls were identical. They had the same mutation but one got symptoms at eleven on the other at twenty five. JC I guess Through some grace right. Her symptoms arose during time in which a drug was already available in unaccompanied show that happened to be appropriate for her. So I understand and that in this case she got lucky. Well in a way because the drug already existed otherwise we couldn't have intervened quickly enough. Yeah it was an act of considerable effort on the part of the patient advocacy group project. LS The head of Columbia University's LS LS center. Dr Neil Snider in the company who originated the drug and all of us that were helping around the sides trying to support like an exoskeleton including Charles forever and I was helping with the regulatory strategy and also trying to make sure that the drug that was chosen was actually appropriate to the most expedient animal model so as a result of that we were able to put together a very lean and mean I N D for JC and get her approved through the FDA. I have to say. FDA was understandably cautious but when they heard her situation detail and how she'd lost her twin sister the understood of course about a few and they made a lot of exceptions to the usual toxicology regulations. Well I know that she had been she and her family. They had been advocating pretty publicly for a while up until it was approved. I if I'd been in her mom shoes I would have done the same thing called. She lower local congressman. The Stephen King and there was actually quite a response. In Congress. There is a bill that was put forward to ask. FDA to move expediently for JC. I don't know that that had specific impact but just to say that they got some considerable public discussion. And how Camilla's case different in her case Tim you At Boston Children's Hospital recognized that her condition was suitable for an exon skipping being drug very similar to Isis Been Raza and he was able to use a similar backbone and design a drug from scratch within several months it was quite remarkable global. We've done the testing for it and then we've Were able to get started with just a acute data and then I designed a type of a program in which we would update the FDA very regularly on the progress of the toxicology studies so that we could extend her dosing and again. FDA's group group that does an enzyme replacement was wonderful. In working with us to customize that I approach how do you envision cases like these being handled in the future after all not everyone. Everyone has a congressman. That's willing to go to bat for them. Like Jaycee did not. Everybody should take one. There's definitely a sea-change coming is really exciting. And it goes back to the changes brought about by the AIDS patients who identified that they were an extreme unmet medical. Need we see the finalization of the L. S. guidance. We see a lot of guidances have come out on rare disease from the agency in the past twenty four months. And I'm very excited about this because we're really getting to the place where we custom tailor the amount of upfront non clinical research. That has to proceed to human trials customize. That the patient's situation well do you think that each was going to require its own uniquely designed non clinical research at will or will there kind of. Okay you're not gonna be able to have like a standard version that works for most Aso's typically called platform toxicology in kind of a dream. Right now when you look across all a good nuclear tides you find out remember. I mentioned early in this talk about the pharmacologically driven toxicity. Let's say there's another place in the genome that has has a similar sequence. We end up having the drug acting by its intended action bit at the wrong place which is an off what we call an on target but unwanted toxicity existed that could arise by modulating genome which is a little scary right to put something into the spine or once. You invoke gene therapy. What's done is done so you need to have really careful toxicology evaluations that look at the animal as if it were a miniature clinical trial? And you know you're basically siklie handling the animals has patients and so we get as much information as we can vary from each particular experiment and try to make sure that Ed's translation Lee accurate for predicting patient risk. We need the parents to know that right. If if you were me. Resigning are up to our child. An an in-and-out shoes

Let's overreact to Week 8: The 49ers are the NFL's best team
"I think that what we want to talk about our vise lows the NFL season so far and highs at this point are the Sansko forty niners it's the New England patriots to undefeated teams and then we want to get into Adam gays who want to get into Freddie Kitchens in WanNa get into the Chicago bears those I probably don't need to say are the lows of the nfl let's start with the great teams the teams that are that are undefeated mic Bosa and San Francisco Forty niners so this was so we talked about this last week where essentially both of the undefeated teams have been dogged by this Weirdo they haven't played anybody and eventually as maze I talked about last week eventually you know this is just the NFL they're beating up on these bad teams because there's just too many bad NFL team that's sort of the way things are going right now there's like five good teams that are quote unquote nice schedule winds and then there's twenty-seven teams who are who everyone considers inferior one AA competition Ravin said that the forty niners host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday they win fifty one to thirteen the panthers where the fifth ranked offense in the NFL all fifteen th ranked defense Nick Bosa three sacks three tackles for loss one pass break up and one interception return for forty six yards the forty niners I I I don't feel the need to say there will jit because we already knew their religion you've written about this this was the type of win that I August isn't very analytical this shuts people up oh yeah I mean this is this is what they call a statement when I think the most points they've scored since ninety three or something like that I saw that today Yup yeah type of win where if there was college they would get like twenty more first place votes this week exactly kind of win they wouldn't jump over the Patriots but it'd be getting close yeah I mean this what stood out to you when you just looked at I mean it was as complete performance you can get it turning that stood out that maybe I mentioned already I mean yeah obviously the defense I think has been the foundation that they've been operating on this year they've -pletely remade that front seven I should say the front the Front Line Nick Bosa you know changes everything default has been good deforest buckner is just playing out in elite level still Eric Armstead has been playing really really well as you know two and then I actually saw Solomon Thomas make a really good play today too I mean they've got guys they've got it reminds me a little bit of the rams of old in one sense that they spent several years of like accumulating talent and it's finding all starting to kind of click together her and their defense is looks like a juggernaut and then on the other side of the ball run game is just so dominant You know we saw we saw what they could do today. Seven Coleman really really good they've got like woman baby yeah they've got like four backs that could that could be their starter yeah they're just really really good so they they control the clock they it's such an old school method in you know it's it's funny because in the in the stage when passing is so much more efficient they're kind of breaking that rule that passing more efficient because when you can run with that level of efficiency in that level of explosiveness I mean it just you don't Oh you don't actually really need to pass that much because they've just been doing it sufficiently my favorite maybe event of twenty nineteen so far is field yates tweeted out most pass attempts prior to first career interception history number one is Dak Prescott number three was Kyle Allen after the game yeah Richard Sherman Seen this yet Richard Sherman quote tweeted that tweet which is I'm so happy to have Richard Sherman back in our lives I talked with a couple of weeks ago but just like the thing where he may be made up that thing with Baker Mayfield I'm fine with it leveraged do whatever he wants he's back in the spotlight he's GonNa Talk unquote tweet field Yates tweets about say element Mayo hundred percent on the rich German experience back to hit a piano yeah I know this is a pro Richard Sherman podcast now I think it's really interesting what happens now in the NFC obviously the Green Bay packers won tonight there are no drew breeze comes back with the saints and they look like they didn't miss a beat obviously you know teddy bridgewater is a very good quarterback while he was aperture breezes he's wearing your mind is the pecking order in the NFC and are the niners significantly above those other two teams man that's such a good question I really like The saints still I think the fact that they were able to do what they did go five zero at bridgewater and just Kinda keep going you know keep them momentum going forward I think they are still one of the favorites I would say you know it San Francisco New Orleans one and the packers just slightly below that but with the way that Aaron Rodgers has been playing last couple of weeks there certainly scary I think their defense has taken a little bit of a step back so there may be not quite as balanced as we thought they were but yeah I mean I think those are clear top three teams there's no question about that and then you could you know make arguments for the vikings or whoever but yeah I think those are like the like the cream of the crop for share in then there's a bunch of other teams speaking of the cream of the Crop New England patriots okay so the stats from the NFL the browns I can barely get throughout the browns had turnovers on three consecutive offensive plays against the Patriots that is the first time any team has done so since week one twenty twelve only the seventh time it's been done since two thousand this is not good if you're the browns we're GonNa get to the browns and are very robust stocks downs section a little bit but this patriots team unfortunately this is not kind of the schedule will win that we thought it was going to be you know the niners get there's the browns are not as good as the panthers the browns have been kind of a disaster but this was just another performance Devin mccourty looks like maybe defensive player of the year candidate the defense he just unbelievable in Baker Mayfield after the game said that the Patriots didn't do anything confuse them they were just playing really well yeah and you you kinda wonder like isn't that the worst case scenario for a team is the they're not doing anything new there just being the crap out of you I mean it was amazing when you think about this patriots defense what comes to mind yeah I think a couple of things going to mind number one discipline that's kind of a hallmark of the belichick teams is just being really disciplined like you know obviously Cliche do your job or whatever that's the first thing versatility you know they're able to play it's
