The Big House Smash Melee & Ultimate online event canceled following Nintendo cease & desist order

"Tournaments in the smash brothers community. Oh that's interesting. I definitely this paragraph definitely starts in the middle on what happened there. Why did that get leader. Kevin what did you do there. I'm pretty sure you really you think it was me. This year's installment of the big house one of the most important tournaments in the smash super smash brothers. He has been shut down by nintendo. Its use of fan. Develop mod meant to improve online play in super smash brothers melee quote. The big house is heartbroken to share. We've received a cease and desist from nintendo america inc to cancel our upcoming online event. Tournaments official statement reads. We were informed. We do not have permission to host or broadcast. The event primarily due to the usage of slippy we are forced to comply with the with the order and cancelled a big house online for both melee and ultimate new quote here from nintendo quote nintendo appreciates the love and dedication the fighting game community has for the super smash brothers series nintendo told cocoon an email. We have partnered with numerous super smash brothers tournaments in the past and host our own online and offline tournaments for the game and we plan to continue that support in the future. Unfortunately the upcoming big house tournament announced plans to host online tournament for super smash brothers melee that requires the use of illegally copied versions of the game in conjunction with ahmad called slippy during their online event nintendo therefore contacted the tournament organizers. Ask them to stop. They refused nintendo no choice but to step in and protect its intellectual property and brands. Nintendo cannot condone or allow privacy of its intellectual property and quote prejudice. Here now while the big house organized robin juggle guy. Horn confirmed these details in an email to kentucky. It should be noted that backing up your your own. Copies of video games for personal use is entirely legal per united states. Copyright law and parentheses. Slippy is a third party modification built by a group of fans to add rollback net code super smash brothers melee before slipping release earlier this year malay players suffered with a subpar infrastructure the mid the nineteen year old game much harder to play at a competitive level but with the addition of rollback net code the benefits of which are widely acknowledged by anyone who takes the fighting game. Seriously malay players were able to finally enjoy great matches with far-flung opponents the arrival of slippy became even more important as the onset of the covid nineteen pandemic pump the brakes on the grassroot tournament circuit with several notable players singing. His praises. many of those players are rightfully making their displeasure with nintendo online in the wake of the big houses. Cancel ization and the hashtag has free. Malay is now trending on twitter quo of all the shit from nintendo. This takes the prize. Adam armato lindgren's another top layer player said quote it's a global pandemic going on is a is a global pandemic going on in intend to once again wants the competitive seem to suffer. Is it too much to ask that. People can play and compete in games from home during this time esa slippery slope where i see both sides of it right because i actually cut the article. I'm off my game. I was so excited. Hang out with you today right. It's going to say of course that to do this like it's been hinted at their you need to be emulating it. And that's why the copyright thing comes in where you're going is that you're not playing the game as it's meant to be you're using this thing and going off of a not so here it is when mainly came out in two thousand one did not have any form of network play adding such necessities The use of the game cube and we emulator dolphin which can which one can only assume nintendo would rather not exist that would make slippy which works in conjunction with the dolphin. A no go. Even if the mod isn't the crux of the problem ended up itself. So that's the mix up problem here right where this is all going from. Where do you stand on this. So i mean. Does the tendons doing their own thing. It's weird that they say that they appreciate love the dedication the fighting game community. Has i the smash brothers series and then they pull something like this and it's it's also interesting that there is that slip up that little bit of confusion with emulation because wasn't it just like a few years ago that they were on the witch hunt for people that were emulating any sort of nintendo game share. Yeah so for for for the point that the person making the article on. I apologize in walker in walker like we're covert. It's a pandemic. were stuck at home. We can't go to ebo. We can't go to all of these other fighting game. I i haven't been. I would love to but i can't. This would be a perfect opportunity to watch that to be a part of that and to see them shut. This down is just really disappointing.

America's next top chamber, modelled: the Senate battle

"In, America's elections just six weeks away. The most important thing to be decided is who will win the presidency. Time before. has there been a clear choice between two parties to visions to philosophies and two agendas for the future. There's never been a vision like this. Sleepy. Joe Jeff from. What pundits had been talking a lot less about is which party will end up with control of the Senate, the legislature's upper house. Attention and donations have focused on Senate races. This week is a fierce battle begins over the replacement of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader. GINSBURG. The president plans to use the power the voters gave him to make a nomination. Senators will use the power the vote gave us. Either provide or withhold consent. As we say, fifth. Republican senators are keen to get a nomination through before the elections. Earlier. In the year, the party seemed set to keep its majority but President Donald. Trump's handling the pandemic and racial justice protests have opened the possibility the Democrats could take it. In America's rigid two party system control of the Senate is a big determinant of what any government can actually get done. But forecasting which party will win control is more complex than it might seem. Predicting Races for Congress is a bit more complicated than predicting the race for the presidency. There are thirty five different races fought in different states between different candidates over different issues and often using different rules. Then Rosenheck is the economists data editor. I have spent the past few months building a statistical model that seeks to predict the results of this November's congressional elections for the House of Representatives, and the Senate in the United States and so how. Do you get past those complexities to t to model it then? So our model makes use of a few broad types of information. It first looks at the state of the race nationally using generic ballot polling as well as the president's approval rating, and if you other predictors to say, okay, we think this is going to be a good year for the Democrats a good year for the Republicans overall. Then it drills down to the state level and. says. Okay. What did we know about this Senate race before we saw our first poll of that race? Well, we know how it voted in past elections. We know if there's an incumbent or not. We know the candidates fundraising totals. If there's an incumbent, we know how they voted in Congress. We know how much experience in politics candidates have, and then the final step is to blend those prior expectations with whatever the actual polls of the race. Say, and so it synthesizes all of that information in two and overall prediction by exploring three hundred fifty thousand different scenarios for the Senate and four point thirty, five, million for the house every single day. So it conservative explore every possible universe. We can think of that this election might take and see which scenarios are most probable but the universe that we're having these elections in is one that contains what the historical data don't, which is a pandemic. That is a very good point and it is definitely a weakness. We don't know whether one party or the other will benefit from that. But I think what we can say is that it would needs some pretty large effects that would need to be consistent and systematic across states to drive the results far outside the confidence intervals that we would expect based on decades and decades of data on past elections. With those caveats behind this then what does the model currently predict for? November. The model shows that the Democrats are a clear but narrow favorite to win back the Senate and currently shows that they have a sixty seven percent or two in three chance of winning the upper chamber, and it's kind of an interesting path of how they get there because assuming that they lose Doug Jones seat in Alabama, which is very conservative state they need to flip four Republican held seats and they only lead in four states and they would need to win all four that would be something of a tall order and what are those four states what are the issues there So the Democrats have pretty clear leads in Colorado and in Arizona in Colorado Democrats have nominated John Hickenlooper is a moderate former governor. He is currently leading in the polls against the Republican incumbent Cory Gardner. The picture in Arizona is similar you have a Republican incumbent and is now facing an extremely strong Democratic nominee in Mark Kelly. WHO's an astronaut? He's raised an enormous amount of money are model certainly thinks those two are not short flip the Democrats but eighty ninety percent that range then. There are two more states in North Carolina. You have a rather unloved Republican incumbent clue has been running consistently behind, and then finally there is main where Susan Collins, the most moderate Republican in the Senate. Now faces a very tough challenge from the speaker of the State House of Representatives who is up by maybe five six points on average. So you're got a headline prediction of the Democrat chances. Here is based on those four races being cinched up I mean is that really so certain? So. The reason why the model is so bullish on the Democrats is what we're calling the long tail, the donkey's long tail. There is a surprisingly extensive list of sort of Second Tier Senate races in which Democratic candidates are underdogs, but have a realistic credible shock to come from behind and win. So that's I Alwa- that's Kansas. That's both the seats that are up for election in Georgia, Montana Alaska and South Carolina, and even Texas so in every one. Of these races, Armato thinks it is more likely than not that the Republican will win however the odds of the Republicans win all of them in the Democrats win none are not so great and if Democrats even score one or two upsets from this very wide list of targets states, their position gets a lot

Global stocks hit record as rally enters new year, dollar rebounds

"We kick things off with a record starts at twenty twenty Z.. Of Green on Wall Street today the SNP the Dow and Nasdaq all all closing at all. Time highs should investors. Just keep writing this record wave or or is it time for a new strategy for a New Year. Steve Grosso. What's his thank? You look tight and be happy what we need to do. I think you can't buy all. Traders are not back until Monday. This is still a holiday week so think about what worked last year. That's what worked today. Tech Industrials actually ripping today communications nations ripping today. So I do think you can sit back. But beware sell off Q one. Dan Does that. Does that. Sound a little ironic the way to say that in a little a little pets but yes yes you do have an opportunity to buy a dip in Q. You're saying the last time I was here. You were saying basically the same thing. Beware the ides of March basic. Or something like that. Yeah I I mean. At least it's not particularly healthy to have these mega cap names Microsoft apple double the performance of the SNP on the opening day of the year. It'd probably doesn't get much better than I don't mean that they're not going to go up further from here but that concentration of those mega caps has been an issue right there increasingly if you looked at what apple did obviously going to three hundred today. What did the S. and P. Five hundred the last hour a day it kind of drag it up here so that sort of performance reminds me a little bit about what worked in late December? Two thousand seventeen teen into two thousand in eighteen and we had five hundred Nasdaq up eight percent as we headed into the bulk of q four earnings in the last week of January so these sorts of setups are really treacherous and a lot of ways for a lot of investors. Because if you didn't do a whole heck of a lot in a year like last year when the SNP was up twenty eight percent. You didn't do anything basically to reduce your risk. You're going to start thinking about it now but to these points if everything is going to continue to work until we have a reason to sell and that may not be until earnings. It's kind of hard to get out of the way in in the meantime. We've we climbed a wall of worry Karen in two thousand nineteen that was basically defined by trade now. Looks like there has been a breakthrough on trade. Maybe that wall of worry is still there. But maybe it's not a steep as it was. Maybe it's not a state. I mean we have a supposed date for signing of the first of the phase. He's one whichever that is. I don't even know I don't even know what's in IT I. I'm not that impressed knows what's in it secret deal. It's very secret and we may never know what's in it so I'm a little skeptical on that clearly. If there were troubles there and that didn't happen we would see a big down in the market but I mean Dan touched on. When when Apple's up on no no news that I saw today no news apple is now worth you know however many billion dollars more? That's scary to me. I do own it a little nervous about it because when you have a big run up into earnings the bar is higher and higher and they could if they keep running up like this and have a blowout quarter still might not be enough to sustain where it is now so I hate when the market moves like this on New China. You're starting to see you might see a little bit of a multiple expansion with apple boy. I know it's value personal fanatic. I it's been it's been deserved. The mix of the businesses definitely totally get everything. Bring everything everything that would worry you and Dan said it to in the past. It is still a hardware company but when you look at services and that number at forty six billion when you look at streaming dreaming all along with that and everything else that seems to be clicking that to me means further multiple expansion. I wouldn't be nervous about it. We saved the guest for less this. I think I agree. Today is kind of a vacation day. I mean it's a pseudo vacation day. Most people aren't sitting at their desks. The terrifically believe that's the Tel is at. Nobody's here in midtown trading. The moment of reckoning comes next week and Armato so we track a variety of predictive signals and our best short term predictive signal is earnings revisions. And what we're noticing is that earnings as revision downward and upward revisions over the last thirty days and actually that revision ratio is trending way below average. which is never a good sign for the next next couple of months performance? So I think we're GONNA see an up year again. Nothing like last year. Be Too much to expect that you would have a year like this year. I think kind of I. I don't know what gets us there. Maybe if interest rates go to zero or negative and there is literally no place to go except the S. and P. Five hundred hundred. Maybe we get another blockbuster year but I do think that the first quarter is going to be a little bit messier remember. Oh seven Oh eight. That was that were the two big back actor back years here. Made a really good point. I think piggybacking on what to do just said you know when you go you have this big run into earning season expectations really high. It sets up as a differ for difficult setup. And I'll just say this if your management of a company and you realize that your stock price dramatically benefited from multiple expansion the prior year when you did not have meaningful earnings this growth. And now you're GonNa Guide for Twenty Twenty in the next few weeks you're likely to be a bit more conservative than you would otherwise because the pain that you will feel if you get that wrong right if you actually give overly aggressive guidance and then not only do miss but then you have to guide down again for the full year. That's how stocks get put in penalty boxes Maria the role. So I I just think that idea of conservative guidance for at least the first half of two thousand twenty especially as we don't know what is in that trade deal and when in phase two comes that will continue to be a headwind leak at least on management how they think about cataracts in the first half I said Oh seven Oh eight. I'm older than I thought I was thinking. Ninety seven thousand nine hundred ninety. Those were big back to back. Six or seven. Were good years. We're ninety six and seven ninety eight. The Russian decorations racist in August six ninety seven where the big

"A little cloudy and overcast Monday morning but we're two days from Christmas so how bad can it be hopefully you're not working too hard today but I gotta say I'm very excited argh against joining us right now is Dominic armato he's the restaurant review of the restaurant critic for the Arizona Republic and easy central dot com and Thomas thanks for being here I think it's now this is new because a restaurant first of all I love having your because I'm a restaurant guide a foodie you know I'm a at all that geeky stuff you wanna talk about I love restaurants and food to look at me but it's it's a but I I love what you do and it's amazing now because we were just talking about this you are not a with a lot of confidential food critic or hidden food critic that people know who you are and what you look like and it's okay yep exactly I wouldn't think it's changed a lot you know I mean that's that's sort of the way the wind is blowing and that's what a lot of papers are kind of going I think it's largely driven by the fact that we are accepting the fact that actually staying anonymous in this day and age is basically impossible it really as we gathered at everything else so let me ask you does that affect you when you go to review a restaurant and now people know who you are do they have your picture posted in the back of the ready for you come in some of them absolutely yeah some of them absolutely no I I have some tricks but I did have to keep to myself I have some tricks for getting some food that they could not have known they were preparing for me so so what you what make a reservation you don't use your your own no no never okay no no and you go in you will with a few people or how do you okay of course I use of the crowd you know and and you know make a reservation another get the goal of course I know that in all probability I'm gonna be identified when I walk in the place sometimes like sometimes I get in and out and I'm pretty sure they didn't notice you never know for sure because if they're being smart the smart thing to do is just pretend they have no idea right but so I always assume that they figured it out but the goal is to try to at the very least walk in the front door and have them have no idea that I was coming that's that's that's the that's the sort of the baseline so what's the what's the norm though do you have you have restaurant towards our people come up and say Dominic how are you were so glad to hear does that happen I came usually I usually they're smart enough to just kinda do their thing you know which is which is what they should do you know they are they should they want to just kind of be cool and do the thing that you normally do and in fact I I found that in some cases every once in awhile to be obvious that someone has figured out you know someone spotted me you know does like the one eighty and bolts back to the kitchen that happened on a few occasions and and I and it's not always a good thing you know there are there are some occasions where where the service starts getting weird you know and they they start getting really you know it little anxious a little tight you know and it's and it's like you guys just just do your thing yeah I know do they ever when they know what you do they ever for sending out free food and things like that try yeah try I mean it but it's very very strict ethical real anything I eat I pay for brands down these I don't accept anything for free the what happens is either all either all refuse it but more often I'll go ahead needed then it's like Hey the end of the meal I need to put this on the bill there been a couple of instances where you know a friendly argument ensued you know I had to drop a bunch of cash on the table there was once I said walk out it's like I'm sorry I got to go they they were trying to give me much free foods like look I I have to go I can't take this for free I got a Ford free gift cards will take but not for now I don't know of any kind and that's on duty and off there's no there's no free food my universe all right let's let's jump in what are some of you at your favorite restaurants as last year maybe to some of your favorite restaurants in town you that your review the review water go the whole skip the spectrum here but we're just kinda you know that we just literally just this morning we published online are are on my list of the best new restaurants for this year yeah and to me you know what's what's fun about this is that you know it's changed a lot from a decade ago I mean there there's there's a mix now and it's not just you know with big budgets of PR stuff you know some of that in there of course but you know I think a places like have public house is when the you know the jumps right out hush is is my wife and I is our favorite restaurants fantastic with real good we live near there and having something like that up there for us I think I've been there twenty seven times and it's I mean one thing about it is it's you know it's very accessible there's nothing about this restaurant that's going to scare anybody away yeah but at the same time the reason it succeeds you know it is creative you know Jeff Dahmer Jerry's doing really interesting food and and its creative he's got his little spin on everything but what makes that please shine is that everything is just so tight you know the execution is just perfect and all the sauces have just that right to detect if you're in everything is cooked perfectly and you know and it's Kristin beautiful knife work and it's great because you know him as his partner Charles are were you know they they put this place together and it wasn't a big deal was this big PR push didn't spend a ton of money building out it's such a small yeah it's just a tiny little box will place and you know in Charles maybe this really you know this fun happening place to be and dom suspect there with his crew cooking fantastic food and and if they were more do you want I say the same thing when I go in there it's it's just they but they execute everything really well even yeah that it's small so if you have a they've cocktails but it's a small list but they do them well we have a little tiny one was but the one you can see someone pick them out it's not like with a distributor showed up with it it's to me it seems so easy like why can't you do that but almost nobody does it that well yeah answer to hush is an amazing place west well then I can get you to think of the other option is art from the kind of stuff that what one of the things is really important to me is that you know for years and years you know you talk about traditional restaurant criticism you sort of have you know the big name places that were put together and then you sort of have places that you know we're serving you know international foods from different countries whatever they always sort of got relegated to you know they were getting it stars they got forks you know and and they were done in like little little pieces and and to me that's always been so frustrating because like you try to tell me old town taste right just opened up this Chinese restaurant it's six one and also a little bit of a son domicile Chinese cuisine traditional foods burned by a pair fellas from who came through California on their way to Arizona and the food is spectacular it is in Tempe it's I'm bad with the streets it's about the find it you'll find yeah and it it's you know it's it's they put together like this this this fantastic big huge menu actually of traditional Chinese fair and and it's just it's done so cleanly you know we've had like over the past ten years this explosion of regional Chinese food particularly in mesa but these valiant general and it's been driven by you know both I think I think that is getting more comfortable and interested in that you know they're learning that there's more to Chinese food then you know sort of that can't too Americanized kind right off right sauces none other we don't love you No official conduct that that's great too I mean in its own way but you know people are learning more about the different regions of China and also you know you have this massive influx of Chinese students going to ask you and then also some of them who've been graduating and are settling down bring make meal planning some roots bringing family and so there's this growing population right demands it so to me what's exciting about old town taste is that for years the Chinese restaurant to Ben oh my gosh we couldn't get this here before and it's very exciting be able to get that traditional cuisine now tell taste they're not doing anything that's like while the new they have their interesting shots creations but what's so cool about it is they're doing it really really well so it's almost like a moving to this new phase where you know we can stop thinking about you know we don't have this he we are now now we've got all right now we can focus more on who's really doing a sharp jump you need to do a column on just Asian food like trainees it does work and that's the best ones to hit just a list of which was the go to guy because to me it is still hard to find and and we went to a Chinese restaurant for the first time recently and it was not good and the people we were with thought was great and I'm and I'm like that my wife I love Mike that's awful yeah and I'm not an expert in it by any means but it just was calliope in Serbian was like the old it was yeah yeah so are what are some of the places that that people can go to their to some really great local restaurants another great one that just open very recently a couple months ago perception it's got a sort of funny "Right. So the question is, you know. Are we doing this for a profit? Are we doing this for the community and Armato is very similar to what's up or Costco? Or I'm zone where we've tried to build a large community, do everything for them and we benefit because the large community creates a lot of value. And the company is very valuable. So we're gonna do good first, and then we're gonna do. Well, all right. So. Though paternity on the on the boring side is again most of the people on the planet. Do not have access to credit we live in the United States, and we think that everybody can get a credit card or going get a student loan, or, or a business loan or whatever. But the reality is that for most people on the planet that's not a possibility that don't have a single credit card in their pocket. Right. Half of the people in India. "Five fifty glad to be back with you again today, Sal Capriccio here with you as the last couple of days, and we'll do it for the next couple. It is hump day. I do love that commercial home. Love it think about it a lot actually couple of years ago. Went to the Cleveland zoo. I think it was can't really remember where we like to go to zoos and we're out of town. And went it Cleveland zoo couple years ago. And did a camel ride with my son max. And he's on the camel, I'm on the camel, and because I'm just a crazy person. I just started screaming hope and people were looking at me really strangely home as I'm on the camel. I think that's one of the few appropriate things that you could just yell out right right while riding I mean, come on. I write my wife is film. And he's laughing I think max was laughing too. I mean, he was more interested in writing the camel, but I'm like this Tump day, baby. That's what today is we had a great hump day for you today. Great hump day scheduled. So I have some of the best football minds in the business. Ready to come on the air today with me. Where to start with Ian, Worton NFL film study at twelve thirty. He has an article over at fan cited where he wrote where he writes on the top twenty five NFL free agents coming up starting in March. There are some interesting names on that list that we need to talk about for the bills. So we'll do that at one o'clock. I really enjoy following Armando Sal Garo who is a beat reporter for the Miami Dolphins. And he's going to be on with us at one o'clock today because he has had some really interesting stuff lately on the dolphins. Basically he's saying they're tanking. They are tanking. That's what their plan is this year. And our is written about that. And he said, that's not my opinion. That's things. I've heard from the building, basically. And they just hired Brian floors as their next head coach from the New England Patriots. So we'll talk with Armato Salgueiro at one o'clock at two o'clock Warren sharp from sharp football. Is it sharper? Footballer sharp football sharp football. He he had an amazing breakdown yesterday through his Twitter feed of what the Rams did not do and should have done. And why you really have to be upset and frustrated at the Rams if you think that they could have won that game. They could if they would have done things differently. And I'll say this. I'm gonna Pat myself on the back a little bit a lot of what he wrote kind of backs up what I thought, but I didn't have the analytics or the video to back it up. Just what I kinda thought about some things, but he really went into detail and showed how so I want to have him on asked him if he can come on and explain and he's going to do that. And that's coming up today at two o'clock. So we got a really cool show planned for you with all of that going down. I do want to start though because I got John Simon here. He's a proud. Michigan state Spartan alum. I have to ask you what the hell's up with your basketball team? Because look, and I have no reason to talk mine was getting blown out of the carrier. Don't last night by Florida state. They came back. They were down twenty to Syracuse. They made it a one point game. But they spent so much energy. They just couldn't they want to losing by sixteen. So we're both kind of wallowing misery, but your team there were like top five in the country. They've lost three in a row now. It's like unranked teams, basically. Yeah. It's it's pretty crazy. I mean before going before this three game skid that they're on sale. Would you believe that this team had won twenty straight regular season conference game? No, I mean, what is going on there? And they were running teams out of the gym. I mean, my friends from school. We had talked about this. We lost two players to the lottery last year, miles bridges and Jaren Jackson. So we thought you know, this team will go through a bit of a rebuild. But after their hot star weird thinking is Izzo is those got these guys, right? But they lost their starting to guard. Josh Langford this season, which is tough. He's one of their top scores. And really it just is this team's gonna go as far as their point guard Cassius. Winston takes one of the best players in the country might be the best pure point guard in college basketball as far as a floor general goes, but even some games where he plays. Well, like, I think he had twenty one points and nine assists. The other night in that third loss to annoy last night, and it's just really strange that they just haven't been able to pick up their efforts around. Because before I was thinking this team could go on to run to maybe the elite eight possibly final four. But now they might get knocked out in the first was. Years ago. It was always Tommaso such a great tournament. Coach. He's such a great end of season. Coach that myth has basically been exposed a lot over the last few years with losses the middle Tennessee in in Syracuse, and whoever I mean, they've been knocked out in his just not the same anymore. He's not that that unbelievable March in final four tournament coach. And now he's losing these games that these unranked teams, right and strange too because my freshman year there they went to the final four is a seven seed, and since then it's been one two or three seed and they lose in the first week. It's really strange trend. I thought this year since they were a lesser towns. The team they would have a better season. Talent. That's that's actually behaves MO two behind is an underachiever with more talent. But he's an overachiever less talent. Which this year they were supposed to a all everybody's back Sweet Sixteen and here they are. They're not even the top twenty five. So we're both feeling the loss. Right now. I know it is. But but I think they're Syracuse not as good as good a position as Michigan state, but they should still make it provided. They take care of the teams are supposed to take care of Sparta. He'll be fine. Well, Duke is really going to help Syracuse and it comes down to the nitty gritty of selecting teams for the for the tournament. I think that that's about that's a win than any team on the bubble is going to have the plus they still have Carolina Virginia Louisville and Duke on the schedule, and they can always pick up a win Riley doing that. So we'll see where that goes. But anyway, I just wanted to ask you that. Because I I saw your in there today and I felt for yesterday because I'm like boy John's gonna be a little upset. I appreciate your sympathy. You're right now that I really have any sympathy actually for Michigan state, but I do for you. They don't deserve. They really really don't what do you want the bills to do? That's my question for you today. And I know that that sounds like a pretty broad question because they are getting free agency here they had that letter that they sent out that we talked about yesterday. I did a did a show on this letter. If you want to. Chime in on that, by the way, I really didn't get many calls on this yesterday. But if you want to today the letter that you got if you were a season ticket holder that I read on the air from Brandon being the general manager about your the vision for this team in the season active, but calculated was the phrase used basically to sign free agents with the money, they have also using phrases like sign our own draft develop and a lot of people took those things and all those Budweiser buzzwords to mean different things. But as I look look ahead here, and I'm thinking about what could actually happen aware are they gonna go where they going to sink their dollars. They're not going to spend the entire eighty million that they have available to them. It's just not going to happen. It's that'd be I think it's almost impossible to even do that. Unless you just go and sign, you know, random street free agents to ridiculous deals, that's just not going to happen. So, you know, but they're going to spend some money. They're going to try to spend money. They're going to spend money. I to know where they really really where you need them. What you really? Want to see them do? And I don't mean just upgrade the offensive line, upgrade wide receiver, of course. But you do have to be calculated. You have to think about where that money should be spent more wisely. And specifically what I mean here is this is what I'd like your thoughts on today before we get to e Warton at the bottom of the hour who listed his top twenty five agents, and I really liked this. He he he has some interesting ones that I even think about, you know, why they're in the top twenty five and some guys outside the top twenty five thought should be in it. As we go forward. So we'll talk with him about that. But specifically what I wanna know is the choice that we have your choice here to really kind of target offense lineman. Or target wide receivers or another position where should the bill's main focus be when we start free agency here in March. And I don't think it's as simple as well. It all starts up front, and I don't think it's as simple as Josh Allen need needs weapons. I think you have to consider what the free agent classes, look like on both in both positions. I think you have to consider the kind of money that these particular positions are making what I mean by that is over the last several years offense of line has really spiked as far as your how much money guys are making it. Now, you really need to spend. You can tell me did they need to go and concentrate offensive line. That's fine. And there are some good guys. I think there's some good players in the offensive line. They can cite some nice veteran pieces. The you're gonna be eating quite a bit of that eighty million. I think with some of these names because that's just a that's the price to pay now. For offensive line. I mean, you're getting there with wide receiver and the top end. I do think wide receiver for the I guess, quote, unquote, second tier guys is not as cost prohibitive anymore. Right. I mean, you still have to pay a little bit. And we we hear numbers like six seven million. That's actually not a ton anymore for these guys. I mean, that's kind of where it's going. That's not top tier free agent when he at all used to be it's not top tier wide receiver. Money's now. Fifteen sixteen million. That's what it is. Which is wow. But you look really about you know, what some of these. Linemen are making. It's pretty interesting. I'm gonna this is from the website over the cap, I'm using their numbers here. Like Taylor, Lewan left tackle. Sixteen million for the Tennessee titans. Nate soldier last year signed by the giants. He came over the patriots fifteen and a half this is per year. These guys total deals eighty million for Taylor luanne, sixty two for Nate's older. You look at Jake Matthews left tackle for the falcons, averaging fourteen and a half. You have to go. If you're just looking at Lyman now, mostly left tackles are on this list, mostly left tackles around this list. There are my gosh. If I go down average per year. Okay. Average per year. Let me count this sorry for doing this on the air. But I have to count this one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen twenty twenty one twenty two twenty three twenty four twenty five twenty six twenty seven twenty eight players. Don't you think about this for a second and the offensive line twenty eight players in this league now are making ten million dollars or more at an average per year basis. Okay. That's your contract, you bonuses, your total. That's what they're making per year twenty eight that is that's a lot. This is where salaries are going. Okay. One two three four five six how many are making at least twelve seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen guys are making at least twelve million dollars a year. You wanna play? And that playground. You want to jump in that sandbox you better you better get dirty with some cash. So we can say all we want. You know that the bills need to upgrade the offensive line and go out and sign these guys, and that's fine..

"On the road here and gets up that we're talking to John Ewing action network to headline games today. Get your thoughts of those two number one. How about Vikings patriots in Foxborough? Foley, scary Tabet again Brady and Bella check date for the career covered fifty percent of the game. But under my them. The Vikings have been buried good is underdog twenty three and twelve against the spread. And when they get more than a field goal. It goes sixteen and five against the spread. And we saw they look good. Last week against the Packers. I think it's too many point here that New England plane Armato agrees as well about this number was lightly inflated. So if I'm gonna play this game, I'm gonna take the point with the Vikings. All right. So you would take the Vikings and the points of you play the game, and everyone always looks to the baby. Try get right in the Sunday night affair how about chargers and Steelers tonight. Yeah. What a fun game here for. I thought he'd won that game last week way. Too many turnovers in the red zone. A terrible throw by rothlisburger that ended that game. I thought they could've easily wanted covered. And now they're at home favored by only field goal against the chargers team that. Consistencies at time throughout the season. For me. I like Pittsburgh bounceback bought here. We've seen historically big band at played well in covered the number better than sixty percent of the time following a lot. So I think the situation where some betters are going to be off the Steelers because they let them down last week against Denver. I think about back here for the home favorite, Johnny. I gotta ask you. I went on a limb I picked a underdog in this weekend. And I picked the Browns over Houston gives us something about that game. Yeah. I like that. I I'm on the Browns to I took them earlier this week. I think the Texans. You know, they have the longest winning streak now in the NFL. But if you go back through those eight win five of them by seven or your point that usually pretty fluky, you know. Think Shawn Watson is improving from his injury last year and their defense with the front seven can get pressure. But I like what we've seen from the Cleveland team since say fired Hugh Jackson. Edge. It seems like they're being able to play at a higher level offensively Baker Mayfield. Obviously, look great a week ago point seemed like a bit much to me that line had come down at them both for five and a half. Mike sharp action taken the points with the Brown. All right, John. We're talking to John Ewing action network. You always good for a better to each and every week where you go this week. Yeah. In that ram Wyan game. Josh Reynold eastep ING in for the injured Cooper copied over under for receiving yard is forty eight and a half Detroit has struggled to cover receivers on the outside but not necessarily in the slot. And for me Reynolds is the fourth option on the scene behind girly, Robert.

"But he has no choice. He that's different. He he's going to play for this money. That doesn't. There's no, nothing's going to change that. There's nothing that's going to change that the best thing he can do for himself is to have the best season. He can possibly have to maximize what he will be worth next year. Even then he's not going to get the crazy money because running back to drift. Don't you say what I say? If he wants to send a message, you commit miss the first game, what message standing into whom it costs money. But here's, here's his under reported storyline. This happening right in front of our face in the NFL. This is likely levian bales last season in Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah, for sure. How about that? He's still the number one fantasy player in the game. He was. First team all pro, he led the league touches last year. We're four hundred and six. He caught eighty five balls like this guy is still legit, and I know you have all of the things that you don't wanna pay running backs at this point of age and usage and stuff, but this guy breaks the mold. But this to be his last season, they're just baffling and I get what you're saying. I'm not agreeing with that. But what I'm saying is that decision has been made. They ranch is Tim. They didn't get a long term deal done. So unlike a guy like Donald or like, oh del, he's not getting a new big deal this year. That's not on the list of options if been maybe unfair, but it is the reality. So he might as well go in and play and start collecting his checks week. One have a huge ear and maximize his leverage for next year when he becomes a free agent and someone will hopefully I hope he does give him all that mount. I'm gonna tell you what's going to be at the bottom of the ticker before we want if their game is at one o'clock, he gonna show up this close to game time as possible.
