"I'm Mo Rocca and I'm excited to announce season four of my podcast Mobituaries. I've got a whole new bunch of stories to share with you about the most fascinating people and things who are no longer with us. From famous figures who died on the very same day to the things I wish would die, like buffets. Listen to Mobituaries with Mo Rocca on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome everyone to SI Media with Jimmy Trainor. Thank you so much for listening. We have an awesome episode this week. We have Joe Bock and Troy Aikman together followed by our weekly train of thought segment with his alakada, Joe and Troy entering year number, well not entering, they're in year number 22 together and they will top John Madden and Pat Sumrall for the longest broadcast crew in the NFL with 22 years together. So we discussed that and a variety of other topics. Talked to Joe about if he'll ever call baseball again. Got Troy's opinions on the tush push, what's going on with Bill Belichick, some broadcasting stuff, Tom Brady. So excellent, excellent stuff from Joe and Troy from ESPN. Monday Night Football. And then in train of thoughts, we read some mailbag questions. We're going to start doing that every week on the podcast. So check that out. Before we get to it, just a quick reminder, if you missed any recent episodes, go into the archives and check them out. We had Brian Curtis from The Ringer on last week, Andrew Marchand and the New York Post two weeks ago, Kevin Clark from ESPN three weeks ago. So if you missed any of those, check them out. Give them a listen, subscribe to SI Media with Jimmy Trainor and rate and review on Apple. All right, let's get to it. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, followed by train of thoughts all right here, right now on SI Media with Jimmy Trainor. All right. Very excited. I've had them both separately many times on the podcast, but I have them together. The broadcast crew, the best broadcast crew in the NFL from ESPN, Monday Night Football. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Joe, Troy, how are you guys doing? Good. We're good. I have a question already. You said the best broadcast crew in the NFL from ESPN's Monday Night Football. Was that the best broadcast crew in the NFL? And they're also from ESPN's Monday Night Football? Or is it just of all the people that ESPN has doing the NFL, we're the best group? Well, since you brought that up, then I'll just tell everyone that two weeks ago, I believe it was during the giant Seahawk game, I tweeted that Troy is so far and away the best analyst in the sport right now that the gap between him and number two is really wide. And Dan Arlovski actually replied to me on Twitter and was like, hey, you know, like what about me? So I did mean across the entire NFL. Anybody want to respond to that? Troy's just laughing away over there. Yeah. No, thank you for the compliment. It means a lot. It does. It does mean a lot. You know, it's kind of a funny thing. You know, you don't get most of the feedback you get is negative and it's people on Twitter and it's people that are ripping you and saying you're a moron. And, you know, to have somebody who watches this stuff and pays attention saying that is nothing that I take lightly. I think it's great. Thank you very much. Well, I appreciate that. We're going to get into all this stuff and it's your 22nd year together. And I want to talk about that. But I do listen and watch very carefully. So I heard something this past Monday night that I'd like to sort of maybe facilitate here on the pod where Joe you because I am a degenerate gambler. So anytime there's a bet involved my ears perk up. Joe, you offered Troy a hundred bucks if Troy could name four players on the Texas Rangers. I thought this would be the perfect time to see if Troy can do that and then you can pay him when you see him on Monday. Let's see. Pudge Rodriguez, Nolan Ryan, Alex Rodriguez. So no hundred bucks for Troy. No hundred bucks. I was the easiest bet I've ever made in my life. There you go. I love that moment, though. And I think that moment because Steve Ackles, our producer, who's phenomenal, clip that somebody had that on Twitter and sent that to us the next day kind of like, okay, love this for you two guys. And it is I think it does kind of speak to our relationship and it speaks to our friendship and it speaks to the fact that he came back with, you know, there was a time in October I didn't have to work with you. I was so happy that like I was I love that, that he came back at me. So it's that stuff is really fun and I think hopefully separates us. It was definitely a fun moment. You want to offer Troy 50 bucks if he can name one Texas Ranger? Yeah. No, I'm not doing that to him. I like him too much. I'm not going to do that to him. I mean, they advance. You got to now you got to learn one player on the team. Nate Evaldi. There you go. Like I said, you guys now, 22 years together, Madden and Summerall did 21. I know, I know, Troy, you are a huge, huge Madden guy. Yeah. Talk to me about it. Yeah. I know Madden sort of took you under his wing a little bit, right? A little bit, but it didn't, the friendship didn't initially start that way. You know, first of all, I was really fortunate in my career that when we got good, which happened relatively quickly, all things considered, Madden and Summerall, they were, they narrated my, the highlight reels of my career. So, you know, I'm, I'm really happy about that, but, but because of that, because they covered so many of our games, I became very close friends with them on a personal level. Pat lived just outside of Dallas. I spent time, you know, at holiday parties with him. I did a TV show with him while I was playing for two seasons, a weekly show. And then Madden got to know him, spent 4th of July's with him up in Northern California. And played golf with him. And so then when I retired and decided to go into broadcasting, I, yeah, I picked his brain a lot. And that first year we were together at Fox. And then one year later I was actually in Santa Barbara and he called me. That's how I got the news that he was leaving Fox and going to Monday night football that he called me and gave me the news and had little idea what that might mean to me. But that's when Joe and I and Chris Collinsworth got paired and moved up. But yeah, John was, he was a special friend as Pat was as well. And the fact that we're even mentioned in the same sentence with them because of our longevity, it means a lot. It's something that I'm really proud of. The worst thing you or any analyst could do is go into a broadcasting career and try to copy or imitate John Madden or be John Madden. So given that, what did you try to take from him though, when you started to do games? Well, the questions I had was just that there's a lot going on in the booth. And when you get into the booth as a player, straight from the field, it takes some time to figure out exactly what you're supposed to be looking at. Where, you know, I asked him those kinds of questions, like what do you focus on pre-snap? What are you looking at at the snap? And what I found is that, you know, he views it differently. One, because he was a coach, but also because he was a linebacker. So, you know, he views it more along the line of scrimmage. That's what he got into a lot of. Matt Millen, the same way. And then when I came into it, I was a unique analyst compared to what Fox had had at that time. And so I talked more bigger picture. I talked more from a quarterback perspective. And there was a resistance initially to where they said, hey, we need more offensive line play. And I said, well, if you need more offensive line play, then you got the wrong guy, because that's not what I do. And so everybody comes at it a little bit differently. But what John's advice was to me was, you know, hey, where your strength is right now is you're fresh off the field. You know what's happening. You know the players. Whereas his strength was that he knew television, and he had been broadcasting for a long time. So that then is what he leaned on more. And I agree. I don't try to be anybody. I mean, I do listen to all analysts. I know what I think is good and why it might be good. And with that, then you try to say, OK, yeah, maybe I should attack this in this way. But at the end of the day, I'm who I am. My personality is what it is. And I don't try to be John. And quite honestly, I think early on, there were a lot of analysts trying to be John Madden. And I understand it to a point, if he's the best, then everybody's kind of wanting to be that. But I think analysts now have been given a little bit more runway to be who they are. And I think that those analysts who have been able to do that, I think they've been better served. Joe, obviously, Troy was the player, now the broadcaster. You've been a broadcaster your whole life. So I would assume the 22 years together with Troy passing Madden in some role, longest tenured NFL broadcast crew, has special meaning to you, being in this business, with your dad being in this business, et cetera. Yeah. And I have personal ties to both guys. My dad was a broadcast partner to both. My dad did radio football with Pat. They were both at CBS for a long time. My dad was one of Madden's first TV partners. And I know John really liked my dad and obviously vice versa. So I always had that connection to John and to Pat when I would show up at the Fox Seminar. And I was down the list of play-by-play guys. So I do appreciate that fact. I am proud of the body of work that he and I have put together. You have to throw the first three years in there with Chris, too. And I think we're better now than we've ever been, which I think is the best part of it all. I honestly believe that. I think Troy's better than he's ever been. I think I'm more dialed in than I've ever been. Maybe that's without baseball and not kind of running on fumes during this particular month on the calendar. But to think, at least in my opinion, we're still growing and still getting better. And that, to me, is more exciting than milestones. When I was the youngest this and the youngest that, I just had to go do it. I didn't really get caught up in all that stuff. And at the end of the day, nobody really cares other than my family. So, you know, I'm proud of everything I've done with the other guy on this podcast. And I'm really proud of everything I've done with you, Jimmy, over the years. I feel like we've done some good work, too. We have. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to grill you later on some things. No, that's fine. I hope so. We've got some things to discuss. Just on your 22 years before we switched gears, did either of you have, it could be different, a moment, a game, a season where you felt like, we're really good, we're in a groove, this is working, this is kind of special? Like, when did you first feel that? I think right out of the gate, I knew it was pretty interesting. I think it was very different, obviously, with another person in there, being Chris, and Chris and Troy being very different people. And very different broadcasters. By the way, I think that's really the only time it kind of works, when the two analysts in a three-man booth are different. And that was certainly the case with Chris and Troy. But I never felt like we weren't in a good rhythm. I never felt like we were a bad listen. I do feel like once you get through your first Super Bowl and you come back around and you're lined up for the next year, and now Chris had moved on, and it was Troy and me, it didn't take long, that fourth year total, for us to get into an even better rhythm, because it was almost like the weight was off. The weights, the handicap was off. And that has nothing to do with Chris. It could have been anybody. But I think three-man booths are very hard. And when it was just the two of us, it became very easy to get into a rhythm together. And he knew when I stopped talking, it was his turn. I knew when he stopped talking, at some point it was my turn, as opposed to having another person in there. So I think I would say year four is when it felt like, okay, this is really good, I enjoy this, and hopefully it lasts for a while. Troy, you got anything on that? Yeah, no, I would basically agree. I don't think there was this moment when, hey, this is really good, or hey, this works. I know that I had been in a three-man booth my first year with Moose, and then three years following that with Chris. I mean, I knew four games into my career with Moose that three-man booth was tough, and it wasn't something that I really wanted to continue to do. So I was excited when it became a two-man booth. And you just control the broadcast a little bit more, and you're not scatter-shooting after every play and chasing a lot of different things. So that part of it was good. And I would just add this, Jimmy, and Joe and I have talked about it, and we've talked about it on other podcasts and with other writers, that when you get to 22 years, there's a lot of things that have gone well for you. I mean, there's other pairings that could have lasted that long as well, but it was not because of anything they could control. And there was changes made, or this network lost football, or whatever it might be, you know, or this guy wanted to retire. Joe and I came in, you know, we're roughly the same age. I'm a little bit older. But when I left for ESPN, there was no certainty that Joe was going to be able to get out of his contract, so there was a lot going on there. And I think that had Joe not wanted to come to ESPN or if I had not wanted Joe to work with Joe any longer, we both had equal opportunities to kind of take a stand and say, hey, this has been great for, you know, 20 years, but, you know, it's time to kind of move on. We could have very easily have done that. And I think the fact that we're still working together, it's one thing to say, hey, you really respect the guy and you're really close friends, but I think that both of us going to ESPN and continuing to work, you know, you really put an exclamation mark at the end of that. And it meant a lot to me. I mean, I can't even begin to tell you how much it's meant to me that Joe wanted to come and continue to work with me. And I think it's fair to say that it meant as much to him that I wanted to continue to work with him. And so if anything else, going to ESPN has only made our relationship that much stronger. The parallel is interesting because here you are passing Madden and Summerall, and Madden and Summerall, and you guys are the rare teams that stayed together at different networks. They were obviously at CBS for a million years. CBS loses the NFL. They went together to Fox. I'm sure, you know, NBC at the time who had the rights trying to get them or Monday Night Football, but they stayed together. And then here you guys are, Troy goes to ESPN. Joe wasn't there yet. It was Troy leaving first. And then you guys end up together. It's an interesting parallel to Madden and Summerall that you remain together. I mean, John ended up having other partners afterwards, but, you know, we work with Al Michaels, but it's an interesting- I'm pretty sure John ended up at every network. Yeah, he did, I think. You know, when it was all said and done. And yeah, I'm just as proud of that. And I do like that parallel that Pat and John stayed together and he and I stayed together. And it's just, this business is too weird and it's too tough at times not knowing who is standing next to you and what they're all about and what their motives are and if they've got your back. And, you know, to have that and to have the- forget the mechanics of the broadcast and the rhythm and all that stuff. We've got that down. That's baked in. But knowing, like, even that moment that we've already talked about where I know I can throw something at him. If I was working this year with Greg Olsen and I said that, I don't know if that's gonna piss him off. I don't know if he's gonna be like, hey, why are you trying to- But Troy one-upped me by ripping me saying there was a time when I didn't have to work with you in October. That's what I'm talking about. Like, I can give him trouble. He can give it back and be better at it than me. And that is like a great moment for us. It has nothing to do with me. Like, I genuinely root for Troy to be great. And I know he does for me. And that is what it's all about. And I would imagine with Madden and Summerall not having asked him this specifically, but they fit together so well because Jon was so big and such a big presence and a personality and a wham and, you know, kind of snot hanging off the face mask and all the other stuff. And Pat was the straight man. And we're not that, but we fit together on the air in a way that I think is genuinely pleasing to people's ears and sensibilities when they're listening to the game if they bother to listen to it that closely.

I mean, John ended up having other partners afterwards, but, you know, we work with Al Michaels, but it's an interesting - I'm pretty sure John ended up at every network. Yeah, he did, I think. You know, when it was all said and done. And yeah, I'm just as proud of that. And I do like that parallel that Pat and John stayed together and he and I stayed together. And it's just, this business is too weird and it's too tough at times who not knowing is standing next to you and what they're all about and what their motives are and if they've got your back. And, you know, to have that and to have the - forget the mechanics of the broadcast and the rhythm and all that stuff. We've got that down. That's baked in. But knowing, like, even that moment that we've already talked about where I know I can throw something at him. If I was working this year with Greg Olsen and I said that, I don't know if that's gonna piss him off. I don't know if he's gonna be like, hey, why are you trying to - But Troy one -upped me by ripping me saying there was a time when I didn't have to work with you in October. And we're not that, but we fit together on the air in a way that I think is genuinely pleasing to ears people's and sensibilities when they're listening to the game if they bother to listen to it that closely.

"Slash man. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. So we'll talk about ALS in just a couple of minutes and it's a really important conversation. I hope that you will be here for a couple of other guests, Chris marler, joining us a little bit later on. And we'll get into some college football. And so this is a headline out of the game last night. Lakers and warriors at halftime sir Charles responded to a challenge from Dan orlowski. Give a shout out to Dan Arlovski. Yes, because he challenged me to do the ALS fist pump on ESPN today and I just want to tell him thank you because the young lady I know got ALS and a bunch of guys are doing it so damn thank you for bringing awareness so here's your fist pump for ALS and I got to pass it on. I'm gonna pass it on to coach who frees it Aubrey. Bruce pearl and Paul fine bomb got to do the fist pump for ALS. So thank you Dan for bringing that up. And where do you do it? You just fast about it and pass it on. Okay. Yeah. So we could all do it right now. Yes, you can. Let's do it. Fist papa ALS and how cool was that? And we bring in Keith here to help us. You guys are seeing Keith. There are a lot of special people in my life, but outside of my wife. I would say two of the most special women are Laura Rutledge and her daughter baby Reese. So Lara baby Reese were passing it on to you. That guy's got a pretty strong fist bump. And let's get back to the program here. And with your phone calls at 855-242-7285, what's check in with Logan, who is in North Carolina. Hello Logan. Hey, Paul. Nice job on that fist bump. I wasn't aware of that phenomenon, but that's pretty cool, man. Thank you. Personally, Laura will pick that up and keep it rolling. Hey, I heard you say the baby Reese will be the one who takes this one around the world. That's right, I love any Reese's pics. She always picks Alabama. She knows what's up. I was going to ask you about you said on the headlines that Albert had got some players in the portal. I know they got the QB. Who are the other guys they got from the Big Ten you were talking about? From Ohio State that really has not gotten much activity, but then again, Ohio State has the best wide receiver core in the country. So we're guessing a little bit because he's at Ohio State, but I think right now anyone that you freeze can add to his lineup is a good move. Yeah, I mean that's zero to 60 right there from what they had in the class. I mean, Robbie Ashford wasn't going to be the man so you got to go and they recruit or a Brian harsh and recruit. Exactly. I think I would go with rendez all day. But I don't know. I was talking to you last week and I said auburn might not win. It might not split. The season, but now I don't know. They're looking pretty good. I man should be happy. I know he really doesn't really follow football. He pretends like he does, but I may follow other teams problems, not his own teams. He likes to yeah, he likes to he likes to follow and get on Alabama, but he ought to worry about his team because right now they need a lot of players. So, but that's interesting. Yeah, my father is an auburn fan. So he wanted me to call in today. And he said, ask Paul, who they got because he was here in some good stuff. So I guess that's good news for him. Logan, thank you. John is up next in Louisville. Hey, John. Hey, good afternoon. Yeah, I'm in doesn't really have a team does see. Neither does Jeff. You never hear about their teens, do you? None. Yeah. Hey Paul, I'm excited for auburn. I think they picked up a couple of good candidates there. Yes, you about Michigan states since they lost their top quarterback and their top receiver now. Mel Tucker and a freefall. Mel Tucker has been in a freefall since the day he signed that new contract. He lost the next week by what, 45 points, maybe more. And has not turned it around since. He's only had one winning season. I know it's talk about bias remorse. Hey, Paul, what happened to the Stanford coach? I know you interviewed him last year. I ran into David in December when we were there for the CFP and what did he tell me he was doing? He analysts. Yeah, I mean, I think he's just what's that? Yeah, I don't think he's doing anything, which sounds like a really good thing to do. Yeah, I'm sure he's still getting paid, but I thought he ended up with Harbaugh. How about gun miss break? And then he succeeded in when they moved over to Stanford. But I really think he's a good coach and a good person. 6, 7, 8 years ago, John, he was considered among the top 5 coaches in the country. That's how quickly it gets away from you. Hi, are you? Have a good show bob. Thank you. That goes for talk show hosts. It goes for callers. Matt is up next. Hey, brother, how you doing, miss Paul fine, mom. They tell me yesterday, miss should poor people called in to try to talk to me. I need someone to talk to you. Could you give me those numbers? Who wanted to talk to you? Who was that? Trey, and then William from maryville said he would be Williams really somebody that veteran guy who knows a lot. I have to make sure let me make sure our people have the numbers and you may need to call back and get them. Can you do that? Yeah, but one quick comment, one question I want to ask you. Okay. Paul. Would you be surprised if LSU went like 8 and four this year or worse? I don't think that's going to happen. I'm just going to curious question when I ask you. I would be surprised if fellowship goes 8 and four, yeah. I think they can do better than that. But some of those numbers make sure that you get them. Goose is up next in Arkansas, goose, thanks. Good afternoon. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I was just curious, is that DNC that day was that real? The one I did? Yes, sir. No. No. Now, I did. About a year and a half ago for the Florida Georgia game, we decided to do the week before we had been in Oxford and a guy literally put me on a real tat of me on him. So I went, I went to a cat shop. I mean, it was a legitimate tattoo place. And when I say legitimate, I had never been to one before. On a strip mall off the interstate and, you know, all the usual things that you would expect. There are two power. It's right next to the place where you can cash checks. And they didn't do they did everything but the actual hot, they painted it on me versus pressed me or however you do the tattoo. It didn't take about four days to wash off. I will say that.

They shoot her in college. Well, bar none. She is the best shooter in college basketball. Worse of the weekend, you're San Antonio spurs gave up a 142 points. To the Houston Rockets. Yeah? And usually it's you score you have a career high against the rockets. Because defense is optional with that franchise. Pauly, best and worst of the week. I'm going to go Liverpool 7 nil of our Manchester United. What happened to Manchester United? The rubbish as they say. Man, you. And then I'm going to bollocks. I'm going to give my second best of the weekend. The Travis Kelce on SNL. This guy is, you know, he's not an actor. He's not Peyton Manning, who's done like a thousand commercials. He pulled it off. He did a good job. Like every sketch I watched the whole thing, every sketch was pretty good. He's got a lot of personality. Yeah, he has confidence he was having fun when he was nervous. He had fun with it and his brother Jason Kelsey was there in the crowd. They had fun with that. They did a bunch of those tape skits that were really well produced and funny. He was in a lot of stuff and he really nailed it. Good job bye. Yeah. What was that catching Kelsey? Didn't he do a reality show where he was dating? He did point that out too. Catching Kelsey. Let's see. What else do we have here today? We got more context. Hi, Mark. What's on your mind today? Hi, Diane. Hey, Mark. Yeah, your caller earlier about the vasectomy. I've got an update about resuming activities. There you go. So my wife and I had surprised when so like a good father, I make an appointment to have a vasectomy done. And while I'm laying there, I know the doctor partially am I so we can not resume normal activities. He's like, oh, oh my gosh, don't do it in the waiting room. Wait, they just ask you they didn't demand that you didn't do anything in the waiting room. He's a polite, he's a gentleman. Okay. All right. So yeah, so later. So there's a lot of attention going on down there this day. I mean, my wife's friends are applauding me for doing this. I mean, it's just a lot of attention. So, you know, guys, we don't need a lot of attention down there because something can happen. So later, I'm talking to the wife. I'm like, you know, doctor said, we're good to go. Man, not sterile for like three months, but we're good to go. And we worked it out. We worked it out. So about 8 hours post-op, you're good to go. According to my doctor. All right. Thank you. Thank you for that update, Mark. Yeah, pulley. You still got the little wristband out with your name and your blood type, 8 hours after the hospital. Go time. Anybody have a vasectomy in here? Anyone been asked to? No. Nope. Not even not even something that comes into my mind. Yeah. Don't even think of it. Yeah, more. Same. Okay. Rich in LA. If you were asked Marv, what would you do? I'd probably, I'd think about it. Well, that's nice. That means no. Oh, okay, then the answer is no. Sorry. Yeah. I could see the reaction. Let's say one of us were asked to get a vasectomy and we fought it a little bit. I could see you catching some heat for why you're fighting it. You know, we're not having any more kids. We've agreed upon that. Playgrounds, you know. Yeah, but still, you haven't surgery. Yeah. Minor surgery is when it's on somebody else. Procedure? Yeah, oh. Is it vasectomy? Are you fully under? No. Oh, you're not? I don't think so. That's why they're talking about looking the doctor in the eye. You're localized. Dan Arlovski played basketball the next day. Yeah, she did. I just remember working with the SportsCenter anchor, and he said that he brought in a bag of frozen peas. And he sat at his desk, writing SportsCenter. That next day, and he was sitting on a bag of peas. I once produced, well, actually I was running the board for your show at ESPN and one of our producers had just had one. Yeah. That was fun. Yeah. Rich in LA, hi rich. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. 5 7 one 65. All right. I'm just worried about John morant and his gun situation. I'm sure you remember Gilbert arenas and what happened with him. But everybody remembers Gilbert, but do you remember who the other party was in that situation? Critten? Javaris crittenden. So he and arena has got suspended for the O 9 O ten O 9 ten season. All the players left the locker room, the wizards ended up trading a lot of people away. Britain didn't got traded to the Lakers. Where he joined an LA gang and is now in jail for manslaughter. So I just hope that this isn't the path that John Moran has headed down. But my biggest concern is if he's in Denver for a game and he has a weapon with him that is owned by him, he must have transported it on the team playing. Yes. That's what I want to know. How do you get that? And I know if you've flown private, there are a lot more lax when you're going through security, you even go through security in some places. But they might just ask him. It might be just a verbal you got anything. Now it might be somebody else who's going, but you need a gun to go to a strip club? And your posting that you have a gun in a strip club? If you need a gun to go to a strip club, then maybe you shouldn't be going to a strip club. Yes. I mean, there's always, you know, it could be somebody else's gun, kind of thing. It could be, you know? But you're showing it on Instagram. Like no awareness whatsoever. No. No. Zero. We'll check in with the Memphis Grizzlies. More on this story coming up after this. "Your honor. All the bucks are weirdos here. I'm weird. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to do this is because you guys saw Dan on TV such a great heel such an asshole heal, but he really loves loves pro wrestling. And he's got the utmost respect for it. And I'll tell you what, I've got probably 5 or 6 guys at our gym, guys that have been UFC world champions that have crossed over and done pro wrestling and to a man. They say, what goes on in a wrestling ring is 5 times harder than what they go through. They're like, I would rather fight in a one night tournament with 16 other MMA guys than go do it these idiots do in one night. My head coach when we did a TNA run, he came up to Orlando to the filming, and there was like, it was a ladder match, barbed wire ladder match, and he's in the back and this guy's one of the old, you know, the OGs of MMA Conan silver. And he's in the back just looking with his jaw like, I said, what the is wrong with these guys? They're crazy. I'm like, well, you want to go on signing your clothes? No, I don't want to get closer to that ring. You out of your mind. You know, you talk about having respect for wrestling. The MMA guys have a lot of respect for us. So there's some idiots that don't, and there's some idiots in the rest of the side. They hate MMA because they think the MMA guys don't like pro wrestling, but there's a big group in the middle. Guys like Eddie that love wrestling and love MMA and there's a ton of MMA fighters that love pro wrestling. And they're truly are. It was so funny when we did the 5 on 5 and we had junior junior dos Santos. He was a natural, he was really good. And then Andre Arlovski, this big giant Russian guy, barely spoke English, looked like he was just wanting to just rip somebody's head off. I said, hey, you go with him. I never touched him once and said, Jake, that's your guy just got it. Both these guys are UFC heavyweight champions and really tough dudes during the primal era. And JDS is in the ring the first time he steps into a ring and they're working on some stuff and Chris says to me, hey, you think he'd be willing to go through a table, Jake, put him through a table, and I said, why don't you go ask him? And he's like, hey, you know, I'm thinking of you going through a table in JDS says, really? Really? Oh my God, thank you so much, Chris. Everybody wants to go through a table. At least once in your life, you have to. Paul Walter Hauser won a Golden Globe. All he wants to do is take a bump and thumbtacks. Oh, you give me enough money, I'll do it. We're moving in a new direction. Moving forward and moving beyond smoking.

"She knows. I always try to make her laugh, you know? Great timing. Oh, yeah, guys. Afterwards, laughter's the best medicine on. I have no she's like, I have no more self respect. That's what she said after halfway through it because all kinds of stuff. But yeah, all right. All right, so also Derek Brunson versus the killer gorilla to Derek Brunson. Very interesting vibe. I like Derek. He's funny as hell man. He has like a pose of him of him like this and I put some everywhere. Like talk about a guy who just was just a funny dude, love Derek Brunson. I hope he wins. Kyler Phillips I hope he wins. Bobby green, you know, he's a guy to talk shit the whole time. He's always talking shit. Yeah. And then he loses the close ones. I feel like some of these judges are conservative, and he's just pissing them off with his language. And they're giving it to the other guy. I know he won his last one because it killed like a 7 fight parlay, I had, like, I remember thinking, I remember thinking he's always in the fight, but he always loses and then sure enough he was on fire that night. This is gonna be a good fight. This Nas rap hack guy is no joke. He's no joke. That's like if he talks too much. He's gonna get caught. I like Nazareth in this one. There was a night I was hanging out with Bobby green and Rogan. It was like, are you there? Was that the ice house? And Bobby had a friend with him. That was like taking alpha brain. One of the first Alvarez came out, but I think he was on way too much. 'cause he was like, his eyes were like this. And then he was just telling us his whole life story. Give me one of those guys. Yeah. When you mix alphabet with cocaine, it does have. I was gonna say. With Coke talk, that's what that sounds like. It's the exact same thing. I gotta tell you everything. Am I drunk so fast? I can't believe it. Did Tito's like that a little bit. Tito Ortiz is like that. He tells you, you end up Victor Ortiz. Ortiz. You meet them. But they're so nice and they tell you all those information that you're like, man, this is the greatest human being that ever. But then I tell it to everybody. You're like, wait a minute. Yeah, so Victor Andre Arlovski is fighting Jared bandera. Casey O'Neill, who's 8 no, she's a big deal from she's from Australia. Beautiful girl too. She's fighting roxane modify. I love rocks and rocks. Yeah, rock she had been on a bit of a win streak there until the last fight, right? When she was like a three fight win streak or something in the last 5 she took an L but I mean, and I think that last fight, I forgot though, who it was, but I think she got be pretty bad if I remember correctly. Her last two fights, she lost a Talia Santos 30, 27. Then she lost to Vivian, 30, 27s. Yeah. She lost three out of four. She's saying this is her last fight, ever. Well, she's got talk about her. She's 25 and 20. I mean, that's a lot of fights. You know, and then she going up against a girl who's 8 now. Okay. Well, she was a tough way out the door, I'll tell you. You got Merck on The Ultimate Fighter. She was getting to shit beating at her. I remember Raquel Pennington..

He's fighting so it's more than if I came in three seconds. Greg fry. I know, come whatever it's time to come. And she says be nervous. I came at 6 30. That's very thoughtful of you. Greg, you never came early in your life? I think I almost exclusively came early. I don't know. I wouldn't know when coming on time would look like. So, you know, exactly. And I show up. I show up late, but I come early. And so I saw you bust always you're like a big stallion in bed always? Oh yeah, every time steroids help echo and Viagra. Somebody asked me one time why I take Viagra every time I do it and I'm like, have you ever taken Viagra? They're like, no. Try it one. And then see if you see if you keep doing it, it's the best. I did have time one time and kind of felt like low grade ecstasy and really I enjoyed it. I get mine from some guy in India and I make him he texts me all the time trying to sell it. So I make him identify himself as stalker, Texas ranger, like blows me up, or actually, and the shark call himself stalker Indian ranger, which was great. So that's why he hits me up. He's like the stalker Indian ranger. So you don't really know what you're taking. No. It's for one of online pharmacies. I'm sure it's so good. So he's taking heroin and fucking math and Shannon. He's like, I'm like, this is great. You guys haven't tried it? Oh my God. It's like the best feeling ever. But that's what I think he won't take as the vaccine. Dude, I got a story for that. But then I said, I'll trust him. I don't know what's in it. That's a great one real quick. I'm in. So I get the Las Vegas. I realize I've been on blood pressure pill since I was like in college. I don't know for some reason it's genetically a high blood pressure, right? It could be the rage inside the anyway. So I get there, I realize my doctor didn't refill before I left by doctor dele my prescription. So I was like, oh, great, so now I have no blood pressure pills on board to Las Vegas, right? So if you don't take that stuff, the one I take, it will skyrocket your blood pressure once you stop. You know, I've been on it for 20 some years. So my blood pressure is running like two 20 over one 40, which is like stroke level. I go to Walmart there thinking they're gonna help me out because the doctor's office closed over the weekend. And I said, hey, I have a prescription for you guys in Indianapolis. I need blood pressure pills I'm out. My nose is porn blood like every ten minutes. I know sleep like it's not good. You know, like I'm having said it. Like, well, you don't have any refills left on your prescription. And I was like, I know, but I could die. You know what I mean? So I normally go give you one or two, that's given to you to carry you through till your next one, you know? I haven't had before. And they kept telling me, I was not we could do. You can go doctor on demand online. I was like, they don't take my insurance. We'll just go to ER. I'm like, yeah, that's what I want to do. You already get two blood pressures, you know? And pay $10,000. I said, no, I can't. So I'm arguing with them. The lady has the balls to tell me if there's nothing they can do, but we can get you a COVID shot if you want your vaccine while you're here. We have those available. Like she was so worried about my health. I'm at stroke level nosebleeding. I'm not worried about that, but I can get my vaccine on there, you know? Like that was her consolation. I loved it. She was no, but you could get your vaccine if you wanted if you haven't had it. Okay. I don't know. I actually agree with Dana White. They asked Dana White about what Joe Rogan how the 270 doctors that came out against Joe Rogan and he's like, dude, data got COVID, did exactly what Joe Rogan told him to do. And was fine in two days, right? And now you can't get what those pills that they took. But you can get all kinds of painkillers. He's like, those will actually kill you. And I got to agree. I mean, it's like, I don't know. To me, I disagree with, I disagree with Dane on that one because it's not easy to get painkillers. You can tell Donald like that. I get it. Yeah. But yeah, they just assume automatically that you're a drug addict and won't give you shit. Yeah, well, I was in Mexico last week, bro, you go to any pharmacy in Mexico. You can get anything. I mean, anything. That's why people go to Mexico. It's crazy. I mean, I didn't get anything, but you could. All right, so eagle FC, January 28th. You know Sergio carotene off Shaun? Yeah. The heavyweight you mean? Yeah, he's fighting Tyrone. Yeah. Who's that fight? Tyron sponge, Sergei. Oh, man. Probably if he takes him down. He's a lot bigger than spawn. Spawn is not a very big guy. He's a better stand up fighter obviously than carrot tonna. Dodger, Nokia, tunnel from the pride day. He pulled over there. I think same time, but it could be in his 40s mid 40s I would think. I don't know. I'm trying to he's like still needed for some reason. I think probably because I wind tunnel. His last fight, he lost Chicago. I think he was winning that fight and then he something happened. He was kicking his ass and he lost. He lost to letting the cell. He beat Matthew. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was a he knocked out Roy Nelson, lost to Josh Barnett and the strike force Grand Prix. Yeah, he's fought Arlovski. He not got Arlovski. That should be a good fight. They have tyrosine listed at two O. Again, a guy who's 32 and 9. So spawn had like a hundred kickboxing fights, though. Yeah. He is nasty standing up, man. That guy hits hard standing up. Then they got Gabriel seco. Who's a good fighter? Especially if he's on my head. Against Rashad Evans. Oh man, I hope Rashad wins, but I'm worried about him in this one. I just, his last couple of fights were rough, but I don't know why he's fighting again to you. That's really awesome. Why is he fighting you? He says he misses that he says he still has that urge to fight. He misses it and if that's the case that he can be a very dangerous man. You know, if he's actually, if that's the case, it was fighting because he needs money, then that's a different thing. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, he's got a great desk job at the UFC. And he's lost one, two, three, he's lost 5 fights in a row. Starting with Ryan Bader, Glover, Daniel Kelly, Sam alvey, and Anthony Smith. He's fighting chuck who's mostly a jiu-jitsu guy. Good for a shot, but I still worry about it. I mean, check out. Rashad Evans is fighting Gabriel Chico. An eagle FC and Khabib's thing. And then Anthony. And then also tyron sponge is fighting Sergio, carotene off. You know him? No. You know, yeah, Carol connell, you know him. He fought and pride. You got to know him. He's been around for 5 years. Heavyweight. Heavyweight, Sergei carrano. On the blond? Yeah. Yeah, with diabetes. Yeah. Yeah, I used to be great. Tyron spong. I don't know they never fought with the beret on, but if he did, I would like to see that fight. And then my buddy Anthony Andrea is fighting that should be awesome. John Howard, who's I think the first to fight it of openly have autism, first male. Before his fighting career. He's fighting ramazan. Korra maggot of. Again, Adam, Adam overlooking Shaw, but okay..

I've never had a bad chocolate chip cookie in my life, and neither has anyone. Oatmeal raisin. Get that out of here. Show yourself the door, son. Now, Here's what I will say. I've known Carl in a long time. If I want football takes I go to Dan Orlovsky. If I want food takes I go to Chris Carlin. Yeah, that's fair to say he brings up an interesting point to like. He's saying that that is a disqualifying opinion, right? Like if you believe that you can't believe anything else that person says, Do you subscribe to that? Well, I will not disqualify his football opinions. He knows a lot about football. I would disqualify anything. He thinks about food ever again, forever more ever again, like on the show, Dave, which I love it, Little Dickey is the starve and his father. He asks his father what his favorite color business father says 10. And it's just a hilarious answer, and I thought I would discount the opinion of anyone. That person's opinion on anything that has to do with color if your favorite colors 10 So and imagine that way, if you believe that the oatmeal raisin is the superior cookie to the chocolate chip that I have no use for any other food opinion you might ever qualifier. "The case is, he's just starting quarterback. What I want to ask you, though, as the starting quarterback For the New England Patriots. How much success is he going to have a weak one against Flores in that Miami Dolphins defense? I think he'll play well, because while the defense for the Dolphins is crazy, exotic and you've got all those pressures I don't think they're going to ask him to do a ton. This is going to be an offense that violently runs the football. They are going to run 40 plus 35 plus 40 Plus carries on Sunday. And so while you're doing that, as an offense, you're going to minimize some of the stuff that Miami can do. They're going to get into personnel groupings that are not going to be all these exotic pressures that Miami wants to and also Josh McDaniels. Not only is a brilliant offensive mind he's really good at trying to attack man coverage, and that's something that the Dolphins predominantly do. And so he is going to find matchups that he likes rob routes, pick routes, mesh routes that he really likes to do. And so I don't believe that this isn't just a case for this weekend. I have said this since March, Whoever place quarterback I want to say since April. Whoever place quarterback for the Patriots is not going to be asked to do a lot because the offensive line to scheme in the skill position player upgrade. And so I think Mackel played really well in most games this year starting this weekend. Then. I have to ask it. I've heard key. Say, you know, a while ago, he thought the Chiefs can go undefeated. I've heard people say they think the bucks can go undefeated. Better chance to go 20 and oh, Boxer Chiefs. I would say the Buccaneers because everybody's coming back. They've got both top 32 top five units on either side of the ball. They'll have a top five offense in the top five defense. Not only do they have all 22 back from the team that obviously went and won the Super Bowl last year. If you pay attention to the local people down there who talk about their first round pick Joe try on out of Washington. They're saying rave reviews about him. So another pass rusher has been added to the unit. And I really look at Tampa Band I go if they get past week three and week four because week three or four they go on the road to LA and then they go on the road to New England. If they get past that we're talking third week in November until this becomes another challenge. Third week in November. I believe they play on the road at Washington, and then they get the bills Week 15 at home. So there's there's four games that kind of stand out. But if they get past week three or week four man, it becomes a realistic thing, And I believe it's something that Tom wants to go Chase. You know, he obviously mentioned himself I would give up to shoot bowl rings for the chance to go undefeated. Tom wants to go chase that and I just think that this team is built to go do it. If you if we break football down who's got the best lines of scrimmage, they're going to have the best line of scrimmage almost every single week. So I just think that the bucks have the best chance. The Chiefs have some question marks still on the back end of their defense. The easy to give up two Super Bowl rings. When you still have five left, no one's ever gone 19 and oh, the first time we ever played 20 games who can go? 20 You know that there's someone no one ever went 19 and Dana you on with me later on NFL live. Yeah. Uh, that sounds like an exciting show to watch. Fireworks. Yeah, that's what I said. Same thing. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe about four o'clock today. We can. We can get it out of UK. "Now, now, here's the thing right, And I just explained why I think that is right. But here, here's the thing about Mike. Even Adam Schefter said that when Adam Schefter broke the news That he did on draft night and then followed it up with an interview on Dan Patrick show. Part of the reason that people got mad at Adam Schefter was He even said, You know, Rodgers has never said anybody. I don't want to play for the Packers. It's all circumstantial. Basically, um, you know, he's never come out and said that, But the other part of this is what Arlovski pointed out, which is right. He's a former player. He said. All agents will tell you is will be the bad guy. He doesn't have to say it. Other people can basically do that maneuvering for him, So I think that's kind of what's happening here is he doesn't want to get his hands dirty. But I'll also throw in that and something I brought up What Tyler done. I think we've talked about this. And I've said this with you guys. Aaron Rodgers just seems like the kind of guy that always wants to have drama surrounding him. But at the end of the day, it's like, uh, Yeah, there was really nothing. This has now turned into something almost to the point where I feel like Even if he had designs on coming back. There's almost a point of no return or he's going to look foolish. You just You know, it's his doing all of its his doing like there are lots of people who say I'm telling you, he's not going back. I mean, he would have had to say that to a lot of people give them the impression that he's done. Whether it's because of good Dickens but sounds right or some other thing or combination of things we had in the reports that the Packers were flying out there all Spring or whatever to try to talk him into it like he. He's got his position. It's just, you know, come on, like if he says if he just speaks honestly, if he says about his own feelings, what other reporters are saying his feelings are then not everybody he could be understood. You know, like when they draft Jordan love and they do you sort of get you can. It's not that hard to get where Rogers is to. Why does he feel alienated? Here's why he feels alienated. They did these things. And so, like, Okay, it's just like it's just week if He doesn't own it like that, I think and then you know, I think he goes back and he's like, Well, I didn't is kind of like what part of what Bulldog said. I didn't say I was never say I never said it. You know, he just and he hangs the reporters out to dry. Right for having done all that for him. I just Yeah, but But he is right. He is. This is this is the This is the perfect plausible deniability example that you could use like insulting So it sucks, right? Of course. I know That's what I'm saying. Yeah, Mind you. I'm not defending the behavior as much as just say, like the system. To me. It's a fact of life in sports like the guys are never going to want to be the bad guy. The player But, yeah, it's definitely weak in my opinion, but I think like none of it to me has ever for one minute seemed like he's going back there like I think he wants to get out of there. And like I've maintained all along at some point here in July or August, I think the Packers are going to realize like we got to make the best deal we can get on with our lives. And I'm still not still anticipating that happening. That's still what I think will happen. Mark Murphy, their UM, their president from Clarence, By the way, Clarence High School, he went to heat. He is supportive of good chickens like there's no indication they're going to move on from Brian. Good kids. They're not going to let Aaron watch Rodgers win a power play over the GM here like that. That's just not gonna happen. Um and basic basically dictate him and not having a job. So if Aaron Rodgers has dug in about this, which really seems about that, and it's not even about them drafting Jordan love It's about apparently the fact that they didn't communicate him that they were going to draft Jordan love and what it meant and why they would do it and they just kind of went and did it and he had no idea and what their plans for him so He believes that there just wasn't good communication in a relationship, and I think there's got to be more to the story here that adds to this. It might not. This doesn't sound like a one off between him and the organization and him and good Akins. But that's pretty much where this all lies. He seems like a where we've gotten to which is They drafted Jordan love. I don't mind that. But why didn't you tell me and what you're playing with me? And since I'm Aaron Rodgers, and you didn't tell me that now I'm mad at you. He's a spoiled baby. Yes or no? Yes, yes. All right. We agree. Unanimous. I think he plays for the Packers. Bulldog. If you want to bet that I'll bet that with you Sure you want to do five grand. So sorry. I'm kidding. Wow, is that is that? Is that a real offer? Is that binding? No kid on the air. I am. I know. I know. My my my my equipment broke up. What happened? I don't think I would go to $5000 on that. No, I don't. But I might go to some other number. I have a George Washington. Ready to get in on this, But if you're interested, that's uh let me think. Well, we don't want to waste cells going on a trip. Let's not waste any more of his time. Sal carpaccio on the Western Hotline. Here's something else so I saw today I think this is from bet, QL. That a F C East odds. The Bills are the favorite there like a solid favorite there in the minus 1 60 range to win the division, Miami, New England, as you would expect, probably are close. For second. Miami in this particular example was a little bit ahead. That's with plus 3 50. But I read that.

"Sale is on his way to a well deserved break, But we've we've got him for a bit here to guess I guess. Have a Close to final conversation, Uh, about the off season before it ends. Hockey's is just starting and footballs will You know, thankfully, be over soon enough. I'm ready for that. Salary, all packed and everything you've got. You have your toothbrush ready to go here. I do have the toothbrush. Yeah, Big one. I'm a late Packer. We did that a lot of that last night because I knew that I had to do the show today and you never know what the day holds, so most of it was done last night, So we're all set ready to go. They say that's good. If you get stressed about traveling, I don't know if you do, but If you get stressed, you want to pack in advance. I want to make sure everything is just buttoned up and ready so you don't have to worry about it last minute. I actually though I'm the kind of person that I don't do that. But then I worry that I forgot something once I leave No matter when you prepare you still worry, Correct. Mhm. Alright, So I mentioned that I have a new, uh, angle will not angle but just a new thought. On Aaron Rodgers. And I guess maybe like you guys I don't know. I admit to going back and forth on this. There were times I hear Bulldog saying. I think he's traded. I think he's traded pretty consistently and I've had those days and others but Was that this golf thing the other day? And the announcer was interviewing him as awkward, You know, Like, so, what are you gonna do, right? And Rogers kept saying, We'll see. We'll see right. He was just not He didn't didn't take the question. And I thought, you know what? If you don't want to play for Green Bay, like everybody says, Why can't you just have the courage to say it? Right, like, just say it. You got to have Adam Schefter do that for you. You've got to have all these other people do that for you Can't just say it like There You are. On T V. You get to play in this ridiculous golf thing. Who knows what kind of check you get for that? And he's like, here's your Go ahead. Say it. Say whatever you want, Just like I don't want to play there, but he won't He just We'll see. We'll see. So I guess I mean, I don't know. I don't really like the guy. I bet he does play for Green Bay. I think if he if he is so Locked in cell on like, I'm not going back there. He could have just said that on Monday and like that's it, but He didn't They never do I agree with you. Um, never do you know he here? He, Mike Tannenbaum said the same thing. Today I tweeted a little bit about the interesting debates and discussion that Tannebaum and Arlovski had today. I never really watched the show. Get up and I happily watching and this morning and they were having a really good discussion on that end, Baker Mayfield Extension and Tina Mom said, Basically the same thing you did, which is Like Orlovsky basically took the position of Rogers owes them nothing. He's he, You know, he can do what he wants. He's earned. He's earned the right to do this. He's Aaron Rodgers. Um and Tana bombs like, Look, he should tell the team. If this is the case, like I don't want to play for you come out and say it, so they know what to do, but instead, they don't know. And even Jeremy Fowler, you know who's reporter at ESPN. It does an excellent job. He's like. There's people in the building. You think he's going to show up? There's people in the building who don't think he's going to show up? Nobody really knows what's going on. And I agree with you, Mike. I agree with Mike Tannenbaum like, come on, like at least give an indication and say. I don't want to play even if it's not publicly tell the team what you need it clearly that's not happened here and no one really knows what he's going to do. But Had Tyler done on yesterday, and, you know, Tyler said it basically like this, and I agree with him, which is it's not that he doesn't want to play for Green Bay. He just doesn't want to play for a team that's run by Brian Good against He wants the guy fired. He will go back to Green Bay of Brian Godkin is fired. But the Packers aren't about to do that. That's why to me like he won't come out and say I'm not playing for the Packers. If this guy is gone, he's back. Yeah, I guess I I might be. It's interesting to hear that you're saying Jeremy followers saying that people in the building are split on it? And and so they don't know because to me saying it publicly why do guys never do that? Why? Why is Jack Eichel not saying? I don't want to play there anymore when we all I don't want to say no. But we strongly suspect that he doesn't want to play here. And that the injury thing is is a is a is a convenient, you know thing to propel him out of town. Um, you know, I I think once you say that, even even if a fan thinks you don't want to play for their team or suspects it if you say it on camera Well, that's it Now, Now you've burned me and I'm done with you and I can't defend you anymore. Until he does that, or if he never does, that you can take shots at the organization for screwing it up and pissing him off and and creating this situation and you can defend the player. But once he says, I want out I'm done with them. Then the fans are done with them. So that's why I think guys never do it. Um, now I would not have assumed without you telling me that Jeremy Fowler is is saying that people in the building our support. I would think they know exactly how Aaron Rodgers feels and they are trying to talk him out of not playing for them. Um, because I think it's pretty clear he would prefer to go somewhere else. That's The read that I get off of this whole thing. It's not like to me about more money. Uh, it's you know, And if it's the GM or me, um, you know, I think that that's pretty close to like, You know, you're demanding this guy not be there anymore for me to play for you. And I think fans would probably sour on the guy too. So You, I think. Just try to stay in your lane and not become the bad guy like it's hard. Some people already I'm sure who love the Packers despise Rogers for doing all this, but I bet he's got plenty of supporters who would rather fire the GM or make whatever accommodations need to be made. But I I just I don't know it's happened. I know where guys have said I'm not playing there anymore, but it's really rare and with a player of the caliber of Rogers. I mean, I can totally understand why he's not at some golf tournament, saying Yeah, I'm done with them. It just It just seems like Bulldog. He's saying it's everybody else. Yeah, and he's having other people do his talking. But he doesn't have the courage to say it himself..

"With two uh it's the same thing. Maybe not for Super Bowl expectations, but, hey, this is a good roster and, uh, you know, It's on you. Yeah, right. Yeah, I think with with Mayfield Yeah. You know what may feel like this year for the Browns. I would assume would feel like maybe last year for the bills. You know, Um, I'm thinking more about Pittsburgh. I don't necessarily want to forget about Baltimore. But if you're if you're if you're a Browns fan, and the pressure is on Baker Mayfield, partly because he also is waiting for the big contract. But A little bit different for him, Jeremy because he's had Josh Allen's career has been going up right. A steady climb upward. Mayfield was, you know, up and down, right, Goodyear? Bad year better year and you would look at all the pieces in place. Say Okay, So you had two good years out of three. You have finally a good coach who has helped the offense you have. You know, last year they built up your offensive line. Now they're you know, they're trying to bolster have bolstered the defense. I should say you get Odell Beckham back Pittsburgh. If I'm a Browns fan, I'm looking at Pittsburgh going even then, even though bends back your days are done like your You're not. You're not the king of the of the division anymore. I'm not even sure if you make the playoffs like we we even beat you last year, So we got the curse off our back. So I think if you're the Browns, there's pressure on them because this is supposed to be the year where Baker does show he's year. One year three guy, not you're, too. That was Freddie Kitchens fault. See, that was all Freddie kitchens fault, So he's got to be that guy, and they have to win. The division they dispatched with Pittsburgh now beat Baltimore. This is a complete Brown's team. We are supposed to finally win a division title and break through like the Bills did last year in this division, so I think I think that's the pressure on Mayfield Win the division have the big breakthrough with Josh. It's Okay. This team can win a Super Bowl this year and who else was on the list? Do I get to would make sense to me because again, you know, Miami's put together a good team. They went out and made a big play to help our well too big moves to help his receiving corps. Um, floors has done a really nice job down there. I don't know if they're thinking they beat out the bills for the division. But they need tour to make this a playoff team this year, so I get him being under pressure. Because you know, they benched him a couple times last year in game for Fitzpatrick, So I I buy the two of stuff. Yeah, and then Stafford, and once you and I, both last week, we played a game of who is the most interesting player in the league and we both, said Stafford because of his scenario, I don't want to say that. I think Carson Wentz is the least interesting player in the league, but he's just Consistently. Not on my radar, you know? Okay, we'll see how it goes. Yeah, the it felt it always felt like whenever the you know the show. Dan Orlovsky makes this list They're talking went and they were arguing about when so I think this player is not compelling enough for me to even care. I don't know For whatever reason, I just Okay. We're arguing about Carson once again. Okay. After after Indianapolis, Like we'll see how it goes, right? I think the Wentz if without having seen Orlowski is explanation. I am going to guess the Wednesday thing He got what he wanted. That's what it is. You got what you wanted. You got the coach you wanted to work with. You're going to a good team. Perfect scenario. You got everything you wanted, right right there in better shape than the Eagles. You're going to a team that was in the playoffs last year. You're going to a team that Could win their division this year. It's not going to be Houston. It's not going to be Jacksonville. So can you beat out Tennessee you with the coach who was on the staff in Philly? The last time you had some success? Um, there are good weapons. It's a really good offensive line. They put together a good defense. You have a good running game, so everything is in place around you. And there's you know, again, you're coming into a playoff team. You're not taking over a team that's rebuilding and all this other stuff. They were opposed Season team and they were. They were tough out. Of course. So I think I understand his thing on whence Because if Indianapolis doesn't make the playoffs if they don't take another step, it's in all likelihood, because whence wasn't good enough and what's the out now? You can't blame it on Doug Peterson. You can't blame it on. Well. The guy was always getting sacked. The Eagles offensive line was one of the worst in the league. The Colts might be the best offensive line in the league. So it's all I mean, If the cold season fails, I'm going to guess it's all because it's going to be on went his shoulders. His their success or failure is Well, how does Carson Wentz look? You know you could pick India to win the division over Tennessee. Maybe you think the culture better football team and the question will be all right. This one's look like you did a couple of years ago. Or does it look like last year when he was shell shocked? And that's why I think the Carson Wentz name is on the list. I'm guessing from Arlovski. I don't think there's anybody else I thought Jamis Winston was a good guess. I really thought he would be facing a lot of pressure because it's New Orleans. They've won. They have. You know you're working with a head coach who is considered right one of the better offensive minds in the league. They had all that success under breeze. I I know they had some cap issues, but it's not like I don't believe they had to blow up the entire roster because of the cap. And Winston to me as a guy who is under pressure to come in and keep New Orleans in the playoffs right away and what you would look at and go. That's the right, coach. This is a good place to be okay, Jamous. You know, we like the 30 touchdown part. We don't like the 30 interception part. This is tailor made for you to have some success working with Sean Payton. That's what I thought Winston was a pretty solid bet. I'm surprised he wasn't in the in the top 51 of the big story from today. The n I l floodgates are open name, image and likeness. Yeah. And It is interesting to see how the schools so this is the athletes can profit off their name, image and likeness. How they are responding to this. Ls used tweet was very interesting. So I mean, that's obviously a very big brand school. All that stuff, right? Yep. Ellis you I've got to find it was else you were at LSU football, They tweeted out. "We couldn't have it as easy as you did with the wrist bands. I think there's an inkling off quarterbacks not being from this generation, seeing all the passing stats inflated and everything going into all the quarterback and going on this day and age. And I think there's probably an element of the eighties quarterback the seventies core back. Lloyd with the modern day quarterback, and especially that Brady's at that front of list as the greatest of all time because they think it's easier to play the position now, and they won't get the credit that they deserve. When all these new guys are getting the credit. So there's definitely different challenges because nowadays you have much more exotic defense is and I'm sure that there's it's far more sophisticated in terms of schemes to decipher and the speed in which you have to decipher it than ever before. But in the eighties, you could really get hit. Mean guys were up around the helmet down around the nay. You could really get sacked. That wasn't nearly as many pass interference is there wasn't nearly as many body blows that we get flagged. I mean, so you could get hit. You could get trucked. Your wide receivers could get chucked as well. It was harder to throw the football. You weren't just spreading everything out wide with five wide receivers all the time and getting it done The bills. The Oilers kind of did that. But by and large, you know, quarterbacks didn't do that. So I do wonder. If boomers kind of alluding to that, these guys Just robotic that, of course, they're going to be confirmed. Of course. Brady's gonna be confused by the Jersey numbers because he doesn't memorize anything. Anyway. It's just all on this card, and he's helped up by the rest. But that's It's a really interesting clip and Would say we gotta get Boomer of a bullish on the same time we are. So if we're gonna get boomer on, we've got to get we gotta tape Boomer during the day or something like this and then play the next morning. Because now I really want to deep dive. But all of this with Boomer, don't I mean, wouldn't you want more on this? Bogue's Well, I mean, I'm perfectly happy with him saying I'm gonna write number eight is a linebacker on my wrist band. I mean, you just put that look on you till you brought Matt McGloin. I brought Boomer, so I'm just gonna sit back. You can read into Boomer's comments. Whatever you guys want, but I'm not taking off. I'm taking a reality shot A man McGloin. I've got Boomer, You've got mad McGloin. Apparently, I've Brady Quinn as well. People have been telling me to s O. I'm rolling here. You guys do whatever you want after this. I don't know if you wanna put Brady Quinn against Matt McCoy. That's kind of a wash with just say so. I so I was so fine. I'll stick with just boom reverse, man. We're going to stick with Boomer. Don't use Brady and your argument. You got the wrong Brady. We're gonna bring sage Rosenfels. You watch out, and then we're gonna double down with weed. And then you see what? You got it right. You tried. We ingredients that no, he was smart not to get involved in this. Just please. Everybody promised not to bring Orlovsky into this. That's the last we can't do, Arlovski. We just can't do it. Yeah. So I was talking about this at the end of last hour. TNT broadcasting hockey, So it's going to be ESPN broadcasting hockey and instead of the NBC package that they had to say the other package is going to go to TNT and Turner. And I think Turner treats the N B a really, really well and they've done college basketball. Okay, there, play by play. Teams are really good. But putting Barkley and Kenny on college basketball during the tournament has been a disaster. And at least in my estimation, some people might like it and then with baseball, they kind of do it. Well, I think again, their game broadcasts are relatively good. I think the chip carry Booth was bad. And at times I find the TBS playoff coverage pretty boring. It's not a lot of juice, but I don't know. Maybe baseball is just kind of That temple anyway, so maybe doesn't need to be all that exciting. But in terms of doing hockey well, they've never done hockey. And aside from The studio coverage of the NBA, which is its own entity. Everybody's tried to replicate inside the N B. A. And nobody has shack and Charles and Kenny are just absolutely phenomenal. And you cannot say a bad word about them. They're just Incredible television every single night. But TNT has been able to replicate that. So what are we to believe about them doing hockey? Both. You're a hockey fan. Are you interested? Excited down that they're going to get the other half of the hockey package? I mean, to be honest, like my first emotion. My first response. Just I'm shocked that NBC is out of this and apparently pulled out of it yesterday, and I'm sure we'll get more details on why that broke down. So the fact that it's just not involving NBC because we're going on, like almost two full decades of them doing hockey it just it Z gonna be odd. It's not on NBC. I think, And then that the bigger picture here is that this is not gonna look I far as I can tell, is a traditional kind of for both things. ESPN and Turner. There's gonna be a lot of streaming a lot of offline off TV stuff here involved in this. So it might not be in a traditional way where the NHL is the focus, but it's gonna maybe have its own kind of new, unique home here where you know where to go find like HBO. Max. Apparently going to be involved this from the TNT perspective. Now people already have HBO, Max, and when they turn it on, they go I've got there's There's hockey here. Looks like they think there might be new avenues. To kind of catch people watching hockey that might not have watched it to begin with. So I want to see how all of that kind of the intricacies play out here because it's not as simple as just going to be on Wednesday nights on TNT, and that's obviously gonna be kind of the main thing, but it sounds like there's a lot of creativity and kind of like new age viewing involved in both of these TV deals, so I want to be able to either give the NHL full credit for being creative here or maybe wondering what the heck they're thinking. Once we know exactly what all the plans are. See, there's a flip side to the streaming packages in terms of getting a new audience in there that I think that you get less of a new audience, because I think with streaming you oftentimes target what you want to watch where you want to watch it and go there to get it. Like. Do you think that people are gonna are gonna pop on HBO Max and be searching for Ah, movie then suddenly see. Oh, there's sabers and lightning. Let me watch that ESPN. Plus is the same thing. I think they're kind of missing the boat when they try toe build content that they think People are going to go there to see and then stick around. It's like if I want to go watch Peyton's place with Peyton Manning. Okay, go to ESPN plus to watch that, but I'm not sticking around for UFC. Just because you have see is on there, or vice versa. So I think that that's a little misguided because I don't know when you okay? Yes, you go to Netflix. And sometimes you just search around trying to find something on Netflix. But most streaming packages. Don't we just say, where is the game? Where? Where is this show? You look it up and go. Oh, it's there. I'm gonna go there to watch it. I don't know if this brings in any new audience to the NHL, but it would provide more outlets for the NHL fan to watch more games. You know, ESPN? Plus, it's not just one game a night in a window. ESPN Plus can carry six hockey games and night on ESPN..

"This guy out. I mean part of me the crazy part of me kind of like I'd like to do that off and it's an energy. I'll tell you what Bill like page says she got paid like twenty times when she got in the UFC holyshit if like or a lot more if if that keeps happening. People aren't looking at it like that. They're going to go away like they know about money. You're absolutely right in some ways. I think it's I wouldn't say it's easier but you're not going to defend, you know, he looks you know, it's just kicks and you're not even and you're not punching as hard cuz you'll break your hand. So you're like you're punching it like 70% and the rounds are shorter than I was saying it's easier but it's definitely like the different skill. It's a whole different skill, you know, yeah like you said and and it's entertaining as fuck. He's right and it's still in that weird brown stone age where like people are just entering the ring for no reason or people are just jumping in or the like the announcers are saying like things like it just it's crazy. It's fucking Madness thought you might have evolved to like, we have a hybrid like back to the early you have C or the pride days where it's going to be bare-knuckle no-holds-barred just but on the ground as well. Yeah, they're going to somebody said about bare-knuckle em, Yeah, which I think will really favored that you get you guys because from what I hear it's harder to choke somebody with gloves on. Yes. Sure. All right. One more fights. Who else is so Arlovski is fighting this guy Tom aspinall Tom Aspen all as one seven and nine. He knocked out J Collier and 45 seconds followed up with another guy and 95 seconds. All of us wins. Come in the first round. I feel like they're trying to build them up. He's from he's from England and our last seating is not known for his he's like real game and I'll ask is old. How old is their lives game? I mean where he at MMA years like a hundred sixty or something, you know, so but at the same time he's been in there with everybody your life experience back there. I mean, there's nothing this guy's that I bring to the table that our last he hasn't seen before. So what do we like in this fight Ricky Simone? I think with the heavyweight division, it's always like when they match up a a new a young guy like like that super Athletic versus a veteran is it always depends on what happens in that first-round years young guy can get rid of him quick..

"So would you be excited about having cars and one says you're starting quarterback? It's funny, I I think one of the one of the best ones I heard was Abdullah the other day just said hard pass. And Yeah, yeah, I don't know that I could make it any more. I couldn't agree with him or because I have no desire to have him out there and they really want to Super Bowl. Well, Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. I mean, things happen. You know the one that Super Bowl? Exactly? Yeah, it wasn't even Carson. I don't look, Look out looking Nick Foles. I mean, you know, he came here. There were people. When Theo on Lee reason. I thought it was good for Nick Foles come here because he knew the offense. Right. He obviously didn't know that they bear said no offensive line during that time, and you have to actually move in the pocket a little bit and make better throws. He and you know that one nice comeback against Atlanta, and that was probably the only fools highlight of the season. And I don't want to see Carson one's going in there. You want to jump in 3123323776 before we hear from Dad Arlovski, Let's go out to Downers Grove and Frank. Frank, what's going on today? Hey, Fred, How are you doing doing well? Try back a frank, if you remember. Yes, I do. I do. I know you had one hell of a year. Fred. I just wanted a, um you know, send my condolences to you. And I'm glad that you're still still out there and talking sports. Thanks. It's good to hear your voice thinks that things were getting better. I'm moving forward, so I appreciate it, Frank. What's going on? Nothing. I mean, this went steel would just be. I mean, if they have to give up draft picks. What is the real difference between him and Mitch? Too Risky. Um, you know someone you could sign without giving up any graphics we need. Offensive lineman if they're talking about giving up their 20th pick for Wen's. I just think it's crazy. Um, you know, I don't know. One wants Mitch back here, but I mean, there's worth quarterbacks and Then him and you know that's kind of my thought process on it, Frank appreciated Hope all's going well. Appreciate the call. Um, Patrick friendly. Bryan had a great article today. And he had a lot of yeses and Nos doesn't make sense. Yes, no. One of them, just like Frank said. Travis. Key wasn't much much better quarterback last year went in fact might have posted the worst season of any starter in the NFL 12 games, he threw a league high 15 interceptions. 72.8 passer rating. Worst of any quarterback with 400 or more passes the third worst of any quarterback with at least 100 attempts that he says yes when ceiling tops out of Travis Key. I guess maybe we don't know that for sure. But in 2017 he was the NFL EVP favorite before hurting that knee back in week. 13. That's a few years ago now. Yeah, it's Yeah, And he's old. What? Well over 40 million bucks. He's got her for four years. 98.4 million left. You're right. 47 4 guaranteed G. Okay, And then there's the attitude. Okay, So the guy North Dakota state you know the tri hard Look at this, You know you made the NFL is the Stars and M v p And apparently when things aren't going well for Carson than he makes sure of what knows it, and, you know, I'll say this about Mitch, he said was brought you was broadsided by being benched and see it coming. But by all accounts, he was a good teammate. And, you know, he put the team in front of them and was a good soldier and then got the opportunity again. I'm not advocating or lobbying to get him back here, and I'm not sure he wants me back here..

"We were the last team to take him out. But I think You know, he's got a lot of talent and Jared Goff, he comes off the field, and he looks like he's Just run the numbers When When Stafford comes off the field, he looks determined. He looks like you want to jump through the line, and I think the Rams are going to do well and I hope he does well. Okay. Well, thank you so much, Josh for calling from Wisconsin. Yeah. I mean, if your alliance fan you want to go back to Arlovski You wanna go back to Sean Hill? I mean, should we go ahead and pull a Joey Harrington back? I mean, what's taking it back away? Let's think about everything and everybody surrounding the franchise is not just Stafford. It's It's pretty much the whole franchise needs a rebuilding. That's exactly what they are doing right now. Mike is calling for Michigan. Mike, your CBS Sports radio. What do your thoughts on Stafford and what he's going to go ahead and bring now like Yeah. Thanks for having me. Um Um, the thing about the lines here is They're so predictable. The play calling. It was absolutely horrible, Like every first down is a run. There's no pass downfield. And Every player, every player the lions have that get shipped off to go anywhere else. They played phenomenal there in the spotlight, and then they pick up these washed up players like Adrian Peterson. Uh, Devin Bush, and they don't play at all because they don't have they don't have the organization will Mike Adrian Peterson is supposed to join us later this week. I'll let him know that you call him washed up, okay? No, It's just he's not performing like he did when he was a minute. He's older. We know my go ahead. I was a joke. Go ahead. Yeah, so anyways. Think Matthew Stafford's going to play good L A because Like I said. Every player that leaves Detroit. Ends up coming back in the spotlight, making the Super Bowl And And we sit here and watch all these. We sit here and watch all these all these older players coming to destroy it thinking. Oh, yeah, we're gonna make Detroit they're gonna make Detroit better. That's the problem. They like You said they're rebuilding. They just need to keep getting fresh players in and make something happen. Okay. Well, thank you so much Mike for calling up from Michigan. Listen. New coach. New general manager These sitting on what five years, six year deals Dan Campbell's gonna have an opportunity to tell all his players to bite off kneecaps and ankles, etcetera. Brad Holmes is a new general manager. Listen, they got six years a room. Golfing gonna be there. Come on. We know that. He's just there for a short time, Not a long time and not a good one. Poor guy. But he ain't that damn poor. $134 million contract he saw and let's see how much of that he actually takes sent before we went to break. I did also tell you That it's ironic if you ask me. Maybe not too much that Matthew Stafford, he made it clear he did not or was reported. Excuse me that One scene. He didn't want to go to Brother Patriots, and I played you the audio from Rob Gronkowski. Pretty much said Yeah, I'm allowed to be myself in Tampa Bay, and here's just a quick bit. From Tom Brady, and he's very diplomatic This man has experienced. He's done this for years. This is what Tom Brady had to say about his time with the Patriots. Had an incredible 20 years, you know, really does incredible 20 years and I wouldn't change anything over the course of 20 years that was magical and all the relationships again that I developed and You know, those shaped me and who I am as a person is a player. Okay? I don't know. If that was completely honest. It was certainly diplomatic. But look, you can't say too much because he's on a different team, probably having a better time, and he's competing for another Super Bowl. Shout outs to Tom Brady. We know there's some differences between what the hell happens in New England and what has gone down in Tampa Bay..

"I will spend the light Sox money right now. But don't stop now, boys. Like I'm just saying, if you're gonna give 54 million to a closer When can we come up with 30 million from one year for Trevor Bauer and let's roll. You think it's going to be on Lee 30? I mean, when I say only if it's one year if he's if he's going in and saying, OK, only one year, don't you think you have to overpaid for the year or not? I will defer to the current hosts of the ESPN 1000 baseball show. We've got to talk if you want to go again this year. Yeah, If you want a job in 2021 70. I was looking at odds because Sylvie mentioned you'd be one of the favorites to win the World Series. The socks, aren't they? They have the fourth best odds to win the world. That's one of the family. So was the Dodgers, Yankees, Dodgers, Yankees Padres and then the Braves and White Sox are tied at 10 to 1. So, like, put a little money on that 10 to 1. You got a new home of the White Sox? Let's do right with love, and I'm a Cubs fan, but that would make me root for them if I put some money on them attending No one, all right. Also, they are the hosts of the current college football show on ESPN. 1000 as well had Take your victory like that was one hell of an impressive performance by Alabama. They won the national championship game by four touchdowns. Asshole Ohio State my friend and asked. I'm happy because I put a little cash down on over 41 a half points for Alabama. I tried to hold you and tell you that I felt strongly that Alabama was going to cover the half. I thought that'll have stage is good as they are. Probably played as well as they could possibly have asked to play against Clemson, and sometimes you can't repeat that performance even when you step up, especially when you step up in class with that Woz. That was a clock cleaning, said clock. I was not surprised that they scored 52. I was surprised that Ohio State looked like that and left on offense, But they lost sermon. Obviously, the first round and I think that that it first Plan B his first snap. We went out with the call with a collarbone, I think is what they determined It was, But yeah, I think that it's a closer. Not that close, but I think it's a closer game. Remember, they lost Devante Smith for the entire second half is well, Heddy had a game had a full game and a half. Yes. Yeah, he had a year for me and a half But boy, what a performance. But you really want. This is what And if you if you tune into Greenie before the before the start of this show He summed it up pretty well. The reason that Nick's save it is the best coach in college football and might be the best coach Daddy is because his willingness to adapt in 2014 when Ohio State beat them in the national championship game, he said. In the college football playoff, he said, not they had Blake Sims was their quarterback after aging the Karen left and that was Not going to get it done just running the football and hoping that your quarterback doesn't turn it over and he throws for 3000 yards for the year, and that's kind of it. That's not how that's not wasn't the future of college football? And instead of taking time to just completely re lover, rebuild and get new recruits like they stayed in the college football playoff conversation and one a couple of national championships in the process of getting back to where they are to have to not only and I saw David Pollack after the game, said it said it the best too. Not only are they going to play your game, but they're going to beat your face in with your own game because they'll put together the offense and all they'll put together the best offense, and that's exactly what they did. Boy. I felt itchy and scratchy, too. Watching Jalen Waddle. I felt like I admire the kids toughness, but I wanted T fly down to Miami. It's actually closer for Lauderdale in Miami, but the Dolphin stadium and just grab him by the hand and take him to the sideline and say. Friend your professional career. Cannot be negatively affected by this event tonight. A lot of pros were tweeting that there were a lot of NFL stars who were tweeting that they didn't like that Jalen Waddle class at it, but it's like it's some point. You have to understand he's got the capacity to earn generational wealth. At the next level. And I admire the hell out of what he wanted to do, but sometimes Sometimes you you've got to protect the player from himself. So do you believe now, Now that we saw those two quarterbacks go head to head which one of them will be drafted first? Well, Justin Fields will be drafted before So, Yeah, I just feel But remember, we were surprised. Where were McShay had fields in the last month? 15 kid from BYU righty intimate. 15 didn't did he and I don't help himself last night. Um, I don't know that he I don't know that he helped himself, but I don't think he hurt himself Game Previously Hill. He helped you. Can you hear me? He's probably still playing with some residual issues with his the injury. There were a couple of throws us Arlovski highlight them at one point today that I thought he pointed out correctly, where Those are big league throws. Their big league reads the touch are the tight end catch down the middle of the field, was quintessential NFL caliber quarterback reading a defense processing information and making a good throw if he gets past Falcons. I'll be surprised. Yeah, I agree with you if he gets past for the latest, all trade up, I'm with interesting conversation, though, is with Mack Jones because I think we were having a good text exchange last night. We all made the same point. He's not very athletic. But Sylvie made a really good point that Maybe he's not just in fields athletic, but he knows how to climb a pocket. He knows how to shuffle left. He knows how to shuffle right. So his mobility while not Not I popping, and it's not like your quintessential athlete that the NFL is looking for right now. He does some things physically that make you believe that he could translate to the next level in his accuracy is very good. It helps to have the best offensive line of funeral. Yeah, everybody's wide over there. I gotta get right, Steve Sarkeesian like an All Star team. You know what it reminds me of. Do you guys remember Ken Dorsey? With Miami when Miami Miami He was the third round pick, though. No, I was gonna be a first round pick. I'm Yeah, I'm aware. It's also look at the talent that was around Dorsey and we were talking at the time that those Miami teams were the best college football teams we've ever assembled by skill position. Andre Johnson Willis McGahee all these Santana Moss wasn't Greg Olsen on those teams and a great old says that was in that era. So a point doesn't he have a better arm than Ken Dorsey? Yes. Yes, but you also have to strip it down and he's not gonna have any of that in the NFL. You're gonna have the same conversation with the kid Trask from Florida because the amount of talent that's around him. No, it's great. This is what makes Evaluating the quarterback. The the collegiate level and trying to project how we heal function at the NFL. That's why it is such an inexact science. It really is. I got some other sports stories in a weird story, a Bitcoin story that hits close to home as well. Then I'll bring you when we come back. You're listeningto Waterloo himself on ESPN 1000, Chicago's home for Sports. Captain Jay Hood. It's not bad, Jimmy along the guy. I'm looking out for the man's health. You use that voice on me talking, but I need to lose weight. You don't have a problem. I'm just telling you right now. I will splatter you against that window scene of comedian with muscles like carrot tops. Ripped t eight. Funny You need to be nice and plump.
