"I could see that potentially happening. Yes. I think I think you're right again, I think for longtime alums in particular basketball's, always going to be number one, I can just speak from my personal viewpoint. I. I went to Maryland. I grew up rooting for Maryland. Football in Maryland basketball, and football was never, for me as important as basketball, I would take, you know, a final four and five losing seasons in in basketball over, you know, six straight bowl games in football. It just it's always been more important. Maryland is still, you know, an example, in a unique example of a power five school where basketball comes first because the majority the significant majority of, of power five conference schools, or football for schools now not in the ACC. All right. You know you've got obviously Duke and Carolina and wake and NC state, and then the newer teams right Louisville in Syracuse are obviously basketball, I schools, but, you know, in the in the true football conferences. In the big twelve is there one school in the big twelve Kansas, Kansas would be the only one right. Kansas is the only big twelve school that you would consider to be a basketball for school. I don't think I was state is. And the guy was state still probably more football even though they've had more success in basketball over the years case states actually a pretty interesting in they probably like both equally in the big ten you have Maryland Indiana. Perdu. Those are probably the only three examples of you, think produce basketball I, I think it might be I think they've had more success. But man, I mean let me just say for those that would say what about Michigan state? No. Michigan state, you Askin alum football's bigger than basketball football's bigger than basketball. They're both equally important in their into their basketball program. Don't get me wrong. But if you wanna take Purdue out that means that Maryland in Indiana are the only basketball for schools in the big ten right there. The only one I mean I don't even know what north western is. I mean, does it really matter? But, but it's probably football still with north western given. I mean, they've never had basketball success, Pac twelve UCLA really is in maybe AirAsia. I think if you talked to Arizona fans they'll tell you football is equally as important as basketball, even though they've been a basketball power for a long period of time, but UCLA is the only. The obvious basketball, I school, I guess you could argue Arezzo Anna in the SEC you've got Kentucky. And you've got Vanderbilt that's it. That's the list there Arkansas football's bitter, bigger than Arkansas basketball. And what's even another one that would be debatable? I think there was a time where I think you could even debate Vanderbilt. If you wanted to maybe but they've had much more success in basketball than in football. You know, Missouri for a long period of time had more success in basketball, and football, and I think they are into their basketball at Missouri, but football still number even if it's not the team is just SEC football. Yeah. Did I hit all power five conferences? Or did I miss one I think I got him all anyway. I think Maryland basketball will always be more important for most people over the age of thirty then football. But if I ever got good and the reason I bring it up is, you know. This is another transfer. He's had several big-name transfers. He's recruiting his ass off in next year's class, you know, apparently or the, the twenty twenty class is off to a potential. Great start in terms of who, who is involved in and with and this particular season upcoming if they get decent play at quarterback, they could have a, you know, they can have a seven win season this year. You know they they, they have games early on the schedule. They have Syracuse is at home they opened with Howard. They play temple on the road. You know, five hundred big ten schedule there in a bowl game..
Excessive rainfall and flash floods threaten central U.S.
"And other round of intense heavy rainfall anticipated across the already saturated west central Gulf region of the Gulf Coast and a moderate risk of excessive rainfall is in effect for the southeast Texas today in the south west Louisiana as an additional rainfall can only exacerbate the flash flood concerns that are in that area. You've seen the flooding in the streets of Houston, some of the areas that were already flooded a couple of years ago. And here we are back again and locally heavy. Rain and thunderstorms are possible in the south southeast at middle Atlantic and even the southwest this weekend in a four corner section out there of Mexico and Arezzo Anna, and Colorado and. Utah. Now, the rain is the heaviest right now around no Orleans, Louisiana and over towards Mississippi. It's raining pretty much all the way up to twenty in Mississippi and Louisiana and the eastern part of Texas, but that rain will dissipate somewhat in Texas today and concentrate more on the areas in Alabama and Mississippi and Louisiana rain will move into other areas over the weekend and moved to the east, but the heaviest rain and the flooding will be right now in losing Anna and eastern, Texas where they just can't take any more rain now taking a look at up north. You've got a freeze warning in western New York state around Dunkirk Fredonia most of Michigan is under a freezer. Broths warning a hard freeze warning in northern Michigan this morning, you've got some high winds in western South Dakota out there towards rapid city. "You think that the radio show getting Trey wingo at the height of the draft to say something that is an Omar to stugatz that celebrates his cold call a guy named Murray because to God's used to look in his sales day for any Murray, he could find and he would try to chum up said Murray merit. Day whenever I was on a drought. What I would do is just go through the phone book, preferably Palm Beach county and just find a bunch of Mary's and call him, and eventually I would get a big sale when I was doing securities back in the day marriage. So he would charge him up. That's like the seventh or the eighth. Call. Morais got him as a friend and then right before he takes all his money. Trey wingo promised to God's now. Did you request? This did Trey wingo. Just volunteer. It. Trae sent me a text on Sunday. Telling me what he was going to do. He was clearly preparing for the draft. The last interaction I had with trae before that, and he sent me the tax the last interaction I had with trae before he sent me that tax was way back in February. So he sent you know, we had a conversation in February. He went away after the NFL season because of the tough season for trae. You know, his body hurts afterwards. Ed. So he sent me and I to tell you verbatim. What he texted me? Just so you know, when Cuyler goes off the board Thursday night at the draft the line will be Arezzo Anna has found their Murray Murray all capitalize three exclamation point. I think he's a man of his word, but the shipping container is telling me another man of his word. And I think he was a man of his word last night. He did what he said as soon as Murray was selected. This is what Trey wingo said where the first pick in the two thousand nineteen NFL draft. The Arizona cardinal kind of Murray. Ladies and gentlemen. Let me be the first to say Arizona has found them Murray. I'll take it. That's the greatest. Thank you can give Trey wingo for doing an to you on the broadcast. I thank them last night. Now, our our listeners, and I feel like our staffer criticising trae they're disappointed that traded that scream Murray. I was not expecting that. I had a very low bar. So therefore, he exceeded whatever expectation I had for what he did. Let's wait. He sent it in all caps with three exclamation points. This sound like that. Not exactly. But again, it's a tribute to me to our show and trays come along way. Just the fact that he was willing to do that at the NFL draft, Trey wingo. It's going to be very long. Very listen. I a- been thanking him since the second. He did it last night. I needed Mel kiper to be rattled by how crazy the Murray was. Yeah. Of course, you guys want more. This is what I will say though, because I mean, this is a compliment even though it's not oh, no. Oh that Trey wingo that doesn't make sense as a as a call. He's doing something specifically to please you because the rest of that sentence. So many people were confused by that the great majority of people who don't listen to our show. We're like what does that mean? Let me be the first to say this. We finally got our Murray. Like, what does that even me? Let me beat the I say. Arizona's has found their Murray..

"I'm gonna go eight and a half. I'm gonna let you go over under eight and a half. You bet I think it was about eight and a half. Well, you just said rounded at ten so I'll go over he now rounded I'll go over eight now because we always talk about round up when you're paying me money. I wish you would we always said how the average was about fifty and I thought had gone to sixty. Since last year. QBR been around since two thousand twenty seventeen or at about fifty six last year about sixty one. There you go. We'll move on. No bet. I'll I'm starting to feel sorry. All right. So. Giants quarterback. So the hitman conclusion is they're taking a quarterback. So how do you get at that bat well, Dwayne Haskins over under in many places at six and a half. So that's the key. Do we think the giants are gonna take Haskins? And if we don't think they're gonna take Haskins and obviously under six and a half is a really good bet for I've actually seen the bats out there where you can pick where Haskins ends up and. Now that I think about it. The hitman sent me an Email follow up there were saying he likes that bet for Washington because they were the second favourite for the words, Washington pigan fifteen. Okay. That's interesting may have the trade up for that. All right, next one. That those were the top three that I had that was the big takeaway. Yes. All right. So. He's one of a kind though. Yeah. You gotta give him credit. I mean, you could make up a character. Like this. You So you can. can. All right. Let's hope number one. 'cause I love that Vegas. Quantifies stuff. You hear Mel kiper saying ninety nine percent collar Murray's go number one. Then you hear some guy from CBS? I got name presto and either it's not happening. A Colin said something on Wednesday show. I thought was really smart. Why would the cardinal spread? This information. Because if you're trying to trade Josh Rosen. Think two scenarios you're trying to trae Josh Rosen scenario a the league knows you're picking collar Murray. And they know Josh Rosen is expendable and scenario be they're not sure who you're picking maybe a quarterback may not be it seems like be Arizona has more Laverick in the trade negotiations. Does that make sense does make sense? Yep. So the idea plant in this story smokescreen. Yeah. Maybe and the CBS, dude. I mean, if journalist think someone's line for some purpose, they got to consider them. How would you know, if you've got a contact in Arizona? Around the team. They call you and say, hey, can't tell you where this is coming from. What I I don't think we're taking them. You're gonna go you're gonna run with it. You've got your source. So in a way, you can't blame. The journalists in that hypothetical, but then it accomplishes. I think what Arezzo Anna wanted which is the crate some uncertainty around this. And also, quite frankly, it makes it worth it. Feels like the stores open businesses open to trade for the number one pick. Meaning if they're not necessarily in love. With murray. Then all of a sudden the raiders or someone that might want to jump up feel emboldened to maybe make offer. Whereas if Arunas we're taking them businesses closed. You know, it's a free role. You might get some offer you can't refuse someone. My what Rosen someone my one Murray. Why would you limit your opportunities in trades? If you're Ariza see motivation for AirAsia thrown up, the smokescreen that said the banning markets have valued they've accounted for the uncertainty. So Brad west gate earlier this week had some crazy odds on Rosa. So on Kyla Murray. My I'm sorry on the quarterback. Murray. First overall, pick Cuyler Murray was minus twenty five hundred keeping my when they open this up, and I'll give west gate at least credit for opening this up over a month ago. Kyla Murray was like my one forty got all the way up to minus twenty five hundred..

"That would wanna do that last thing Pallomari who earlier this week came out and said he's gonna play football. And there's talk of him being the first quarterback taken. There's even talk of him potentially going number one overall because he shares an agent with cliff Kingsbury Kingsbury when Texas Tech was getting ready. Play oklahoma. You know said he'd take him ahead of anybody else. You know, there's the Texas connection there, obviously boys maybe can fit within that offense. You're you're Fleur offensive lineman. You're a large human being your brother's. An all pro offense, blaming a large human being we have never seen elite level quarterback. Be five foot. Ten will it will it work long term in the NFL if he's five foot ten and then we'll find out in three weeks when the combine begins. Look he he didn't have a five nine three. He's five nine and three quarters. That's what he's gonna measure out in bare feet. Okay. Good so five, so we'll we'll talk. I'm actually not so worried about the high as I am his weight, and it's kind of just his stature because it Oklahoma. He had a big off into one. Those dudes are huge an enormous, and he had no problem being able to to to have passing ways your shocker now's easier to see than it was kind of the under center type offense. I'm just worried about his stature he got sacked in the Bama game in the semi fun game. Pint shirt sleeve one time like I just grab a it was quitting Williams grabs his shirt sleeve and just threw him to the ground. And that to me is the problem in the national football. He's just not very big. You know, people will point to Russell Wilson listen to fifteen to twenty put together. Well Murray is the slight frame that he might wait to five or a saw his agency the way to five of the Columbine or to ten, but man that that would worry me more than anything else. It's just his his Bill, and I do think there's a high chance that he goes number one Arezzo Anna, I'm waiting actually for the notebook is posted Murray's ought to be the number one pick yet. I can't wait to back. I think there's a real good chance that happened. I don't think Josh Rosen a fit at all as much as they want to say he is I don't fit for that offense. They kings very wants running. Mary's a perfect fit for that. The problem would be moving rose, and he has no trade values. You might have to his contract with Cuban the backup. But I think Mary has a great chance to number one. You don't think they can move into the giants for the giants pick. Why why I mean the giants are just draft Haskins? I mean, it depends. I mean the giants had a chance to draft quarterback last year. And didn't like any of those guys. Why just they might be able to trade? Amid round pick for him. And then again, it's gonna want to give him up for mid round pick. You're not getting a first for him. And I didn't joint Haskins you put them in a giants uniform. We'll do. Well, great stuff as always Jeff Schwartz. Check him out on outkick the coverage. It's clay Travis this show all next week. He also works for the action network. You can follow him on Twitter for picks. They're gonna lose. And maybe we knew some money Schwartz. Thanks so much. Good stuff jet, man. Wow. I'm messing with you. Come on. "Remember the Pac twelve. Like what what's up? Oh, my I think they're soft. You'd like I'm okay with saying this 'cause like I've been spending more time in Los Angeles extended periods of time to wear like when I'm around when I'm in Ohio. I can now say that I tell people that I live in like, you know, back in LA. Here's how we do it. I've become that pretentious Astle in Ohio. So I've spent enough time in LA to know that that the west they're soft. That's really all I became saw. When I went to LA. I I was there for like two months this ball. The weather's perfect in LA. I come back home, and it's like freezing balls, and I was like crying every day. And I was complaining about the polar vortex almost killed me. I couldn't handle it. And and I'm just thinking about it like if I'm just imagine people being born and raised there. And and this is a real thing. I'm doubling down on the Pac twelve just off their only hope is like import kids from the east coast. But even then like kids get out there. And you just I mean who wants to go to UCLA like being gym all day every day and we're gonna game. Right now. That's not what you go to UCLA. No, no, come on. That's my that's my theory. Yeah. Yeah. It's I mean, it's it's sucks to because I love Pac twelve basketball just because it's the late night basketball. So it's, you know, everyone watches its last thing on socially if you're chasing bets. But it's there are no good teams like state and then UCLA. Okay. Every now and then Oregon maybe a little bit. But like top to bottom, they all kinda stink. Washington is okay. Maybe this year. They're they're they're rolling through the pack twelve right now. But it's just they're non-conference everyone in the non converts so bad. I don't know. Like, they really watching it really might be the only thing that makes it in. If they win the the tournaments racy isn't that kind of good though, for Shawn Miller Arezzo Anna because if if the Pac twelve was good if there's own was good there'd be way more heat on right now. Somehow, he's still the coach there, and I don't think that he's going anywhere anytime soon, despite the fact that like last year he was about twelve hours away from getting chick canned is he is he actually going to survive this thing. I don't really think there's there's the classic. It's hard to say. I don't really like no one I found out that nobody actually knows anything about it in this stuff. All the people that are reporting on it have no idea. What's going to happen in these trials and stuff? But yeah, he he he's probably going to survive because air Zona has the number one recruiting class next, which is the funniest part about. The FBI stuff is like three the schools that were never caught up in and all we're Zona USC and Louisville, and I'm pretty sure those three schools are the top three recruiting classes next year college basketball, which is it couldn't be more perfect. Honestly. So I'm sure he's going to be fine. I'm sure USC like that's the genie Lorenzo Romar survived on the west coast for like ten years longer than he should just because he kept dangling the carrot of next year's recruiting class and sort of Washington. Well, we can't fire them now. And then you got an extra class coming in. I think Shawn Miller is gonna do that for like at least five more years were and then funding that give up on a lot of sweat..

"And the temperature and America's risen by those terrible two degrees. Isn't that kind of a positive thing? Well, yeah, it is. Well, that's the other thing, you know, the our own US government came out with a report in November talking about how warmer temperatures were bad for Americans not for people for people in Panama, but for Americans. Yeah. Well, let's the question. You know, what I I'm here in Chicago and down there in Cincinnati. You guys are on average about three degrees celsius warmer than we are in Chicago are people dying in Cincinnati from the heat one like minus fifteen or twenty in Chicago. It's like zero here. And so if it's so bad two degrees. Chicago wasteland Cincinnati's rising. Like what difference? Does it make to quote, your friend, Hillary Clinton? What difference? Does it make an eighty years? It goes up two degrees is that. Okay. Well, that's the thing in dozens of of peer reviewed reports show that in every country of the world more people die during cold months than they do in warm. So we have warming of one to two degrees were likely to have millions of less deaths across the world anybody who retires doesn't retire to Alaska or North Dakota or Montana. They retire to Florida and Texas and Arezzo Anna, I tell you the rules adult they know that our own. Government says warm temperatures are dangerous. I should not go to Texas or Arizona, Utah Nevada. I should go to Wisconsin and Minnesota, and the reason I like going south is because I get up in the morning. It's fifty or sixty degrees going up to seventy five or eighty. I get up we walk and play golf run around workout. And then when you're when you're in cold climates, you hunker down man, you're afraid to go out. And in fact, the climate terrorists.

So we were talking during the break who asked me if I watch college basketball, and I said, I really don't get into it until after the Super Bowl fair right now we were watching I on last night. He was on the TV while we were in studio, and I've watched some of his games because mostly because my world on television outside of around the horn, the jump my the NBA games that I do all that stuff. That's my world. Right. So I'll watch Zion because he's going to be the number one pick the drag course, and I'll. Watch kids will probably go on the lottery a couple times. I want to see this kid at USC who might be a lottery pick at some point list basketball player much it. Okay. But I don't actually watch like legit college basketball until February fair enough. Yeah. I mean, look you got too much to do to follow college basketball all the way through right? And it's not like even division one football where there's one hundred and thirty teams in college basketball division, one is three hundred teen. So it's really hard to follow. It the other night though. I will I will say this the other night, I was watching UCLA versus I wanna say Arezzo Anna or you just happened to stumbled upon because there was nothing else on it was kinda late. And I saw the Bill Walton and Dave Pasch redoing the game, and they are legit. So it's fantastic television. Yeah. Yeah. And I work with passion, the NBA. So I know like it could be a challenge for him. And I'm not saying that a bad way. But just working with Bill is tough to get a worded. But you have to watch. You can't not watch with you. "Good afternoon. We're at Williams Arezzo Anna, and we are at route awakenings coffee store and my next guest. Harry, Harry a few would introduce yourself. Harry Schmidt's H A R Y like the prince just like the Prince, Harry, so Harry, tell me a little bit about your association with this coffee store because it goes back a little ways back about eighteen twenty years when my youngest son who just got out of N A you northern Arizona university right frustrate there. He stood rushing coffee hem and his wife went up to Oregon tutored under somebody that had started this Starbucks thing. What have anyway, they learned that barista ship when they learned the different coffees, and what have an had a roast in how many different formulas, they were and so forth. Then Ryan did that for about two years. Roughly, maybe three years, and then his sister a little older sister. She decided her and her husband wanted to run this coffee shop here. So they bought the business, and they came over to this building and start roasting coffee. Hello coffee, shop going for a number years, maybe five or six recall, and then they decided will go to flagstaff and start a little coffee shop over there, which they they have still and then last year my grandson decided he wanted to buy this this coffee shop, so. I saw the building he twisted my arm. So he's had it for about a year now, and the the coffee roasting business, the name, can you tell me how that name started for the single speed there? Cross the way you would Ryan struggled with the name for about two or three minutes. Now, it was longer than that, actually. But he decided to call her single speed because he says life is fast enough. I'm wondering if you could tell me your history with coffee when did you start drinking coffee and have have your tastes changed over the years? They have one when I was raised as a kid back in Hoboken, New Jersey. My mom was European emigrant. And she always drank coffee with sugar and cream. So that's how I started drinking coffee. And then when my son started roasting head he would wrinkle up his nose and said, you can't even taste flavor. So believe it or not I quit cream and sugar. And I started the different flavors. What how long ago was that? What age was that covering eighteen years ago, but you can pay the different flavors put cream and sugar. And it's hard to do it. And how about as far as your your time here in this community you've been here how long altogether, and and tell me a little bit about your coming here to Williams. I spent fifty years in the Palm Springs area, and that just hot desert you. You got to seasons hot nodding. That's it. You were you were there in the heyday of Palm Springs, so you get firsthand input from the rat pack. I met Frank several times almost soldiers house in real estate. And yeah. Yeah. It was fun in those days. What what do you remember about the day those days in Palm Springs the best? Well, they have one road. They goes from Palm Springs clear to Indio about maybe twenty miles away. And it was two lanes with nor stop signals. No, stop lights or anything in ho population of that valley was only thirty five thousand and now there's probably over half a million. But that's only the one she count. She don't count them. All. And I spend probably twenty three years in government that was enough. Didn't like government work much. Well. You know to tell you the truth. I saw these developers that would come in. And they were wearing black hats, and I was the white hat in a government official, and I saw them making a whole bunch of money, and I didn't make any money. So it finally dawned on me after a couple of decades, maybe better, switch hats. So so you were black cat last year later. So what was the best worst part of the real estate career? What what did you learn from your successes as well as your failures during that time? Very young. When I first got married and nineteen years old. And I started to go up from southern California to. Quarterlane Idaho, on the way, stop in Boise, which is a captured by ho and ask them for a job with the Idaho state highways and at at the time, they didn't have a job..

"An ultra quiet chance at eight wins. If they were to knock off Stanford next week, Colorado, obviously saw the news. We talked about the news. They fired Mike MacIntyre they finish up five and seven again, you're finally here. Thirty three twenty one in favor of Cal. We had ASU winning the territorial Cup forty one to forty over Arezzo Anna nice year, I guess for Arizona state in year, one of the Herm Edwards era. They left some on the table, but they finish at seven and five. Arizona. Meanwhile, in Kevin someone's first year they finish up at five and seven and finally your Oregon ducks win fifty five fifteen in the civil war over the Oregon state beavers Oregon finishes up at eight four Oregon state to in ten, but they did show I thought substantial improvement for the vast majority of this football season. Yeah. The only thing I'll give you about those. Those games. Arizona state a nice comeback win. They needed all of that fourth quarter, and they held on against Arizona. So a nice year fares on a particularly on offense with I guess you could point to the emergence of Benjamin for the sun devil. So they're going bowling, Arizona. Started the are too slow to ultimately pull something out and get to a bull. Cal outscores its own offense with its defense in the first two minutes. Touchdown wise. They score one offense. Touchdown and may get to pick sixes me. I two minutes of this game. That is the ultimate twenty eight team. Cal thing. Yes. In a victory, but good for Cal your high on them early on not because you were high on shea scarves. But they will nonetheless justify your love UCLA was in the game against Stanford late. Good to see a healthy Bryce love for Stanford UCLA just ended up shooting itself in its own foot. A couple of times losing the shootout fumbling late and giving the game away. Oregon. Did what it needed to do against Oregon state's? They did not overcomplicate things. They ran. It and ran it and ran it some more the the only real big takeaway from this game. Just in Herbert hurt his shoulder. I don't believe people feel it's a very serious sort of broken collarbone situation. Like he had last season. A looks like Oregon as a good chance to go to think the holiday bowl which again is the big win. If you are a pack twelve fan get to San Diego in late December. That's when it's being played. But hope Justin Herbert is. All right. I don't know if they're going to take chances with him in the bowl game with his future, either with Oregon or with the NFL, but Oregon finishes eight and four and they vary. But I just want to underscore though, that this is about more than just this single election in Florida. It's about this question of does your vote count vote integrity. I do people have faith alternately in the electoral. System. And we saw how that can be so easily undermined during the twentieth. Sixteen election with the Russian interference with people saying there was voter fraud. Obviously that was more of a political tool, but ultimately all of this undermines people's faith in the electoral system. And so you worry about these reports of ballots that were stuck in a male center in Florida, and you know, this this flawed ballot design in Broward County, all of these things chip away at people's faith in the voting system. And and that ultimately does matter, and I think that with that idea about chipping away at sort of faith in the electoral system. I think we should discuss a little bit about Arezzo Anna of fortunately that means that our dear colleague Ryan will be our dearly departed colleague, he has to go cover more of the Florida recount as it occurs. So Ryan, I want to wish you farewell ado shallow. All right. If each of you could say a prayer to whichever God, you worship that. I'm spending thanksgiving with my family and not the crew at CNN Intel Hassi, I would really appreciate that. We'll do timeshare that Florida, man. I'm sure that crew won't take your words personally and realize you just wanna spend it with the children in the lovely wife. All right, guys. Thank you. Thank you. So let's pick it up in terms of where we see things in Arizona right now, a big loss for Republicans Republicans. See that's now going to the democrat call him. And this we knew that this was going to be a tight race all along the Democrats had a good chance to win. So no surprises here. But maybe the biggest rise that Martha makes Allie was able to close the gap at the end of this race and actually could have won this thing. Yeah. I mean, most of the polls throughout the year suggests that that this was a prime democratic pickup opportunity. They got kind of close at the end. Although cinema was still ahead by point or two depending on which polls you exactly looked up. Now, you could argue that. Maybe it's not the worst thing in the world alternately for Mick Sally, personally because when John Kyle decides to leave potentially in the first few months of this year, it's possible that the governor can name her to take over that Senate seat. John McCain's former Senate seat. Yeah. I think that just generally speaking, you know, it's so interesting how those late votes came in out west right between Vada an arrow Zona and how instead of having a net loss in the Senate for the Democrats that may be four seats, and that would have two Republicans all the way up to fifty five and ends up only being fifty three a very very different story than what was we thought was occurring early on election night. And we can talk about that election night surprises and some other big takeaways. Stay tuned..

"Recount territory at actually right now is sitting in a margin of point two two percent, which is in hand recount territory in Florida. I think the lead is has gone down to seventeen thousand votes for Rick Scott, this this is a race that has completely narrowed. So so obviously, we don't know we haven't made a call there. We don't know where that will end up. What we do know is that right now there's been a net pickup of two seats. Right. They won the Republicans won, Indiana, North Dakota and Missouri. They flip those seats in the Democrats flipped Nevada. So that's a plus too. And we await Florida and Arizona this could if Nelson somehow reverses the vote totals there and ends up on top. If cinema does emerge the winner here for all the talk of what a big night, the Senate Republicans had there is still the potential that they had a plus one night. Yeah. And to be Frank that would be completely devastating given the what Republicans have been saying over the course of the last forty eight. And and to be Frank what they saw earlier in the night, or when I talked about Indiana when you saw that come in. When you saw how quickly Missouri went completely out of reach for Claire mccaskill what happened in North Dakota was what everybody kind of expected almost to the number that this was this was McConnell's grand night. This was Cory Gardner in the interests. And look give them credit. They had a favorable map. No question about it. But they cashed in knocking off some pretty tough to be opponents Claire mccaskill doesn't give up without a fight. And I think everybody would acknowledge that look if Arezzo Anna and Florida's somehow, someway, go the democrat way, it's it's enormous. It's enormous from a what happens in the hundred sixteenth congress perspective, but it's also enormous from the perspective of defending take a step back. And the Democrats have been saying this a lot I'm not trying to to mimic their message here, but take a step back at what we were looking at on this map at the start of two thousand seventeen where you had ten senators and seats, the President Trump won a good number of those centers and seats that he won by double digits, Joe mansions, case forty. Two points. I think Democrats take that wash any day of the week. What I what I would say is what I'm most surprised on just two to zero it in a little bit. I can't believe Kirchen cinema is still in this race right now. And you're looking at the when the numbers are coming in and know, they're they're going to be coming in for the next couple of days, potentially. It's very much so still a real race. And then you see what's happened in Florida and just kind of a mess because it's an evergreen mess, but it's the same. It's it's the same thing there. And I tell you what the difference between a fifty four fifty five to forty five majority and fifty one or fifty two. To forty eight majority. It's it's it's noteworthy both on what the narrative is of the night or the night was and also what Mitch McConnell can do one hundred sixteenth congress. Exactly. I know it's not the difference a majority minority I get that. But but the difference between fifty four Republican senators and fifty two Republican senators are fifty five I mean that there is a significant difference there, and I've just fascinated to see how that's the place. Let's take a quick break. We're gonna have a lot more with Phil Mattingly. Just a moment right here on the daily DC..

"I think this is indicative her her plight. I guess in regards to healthcare is indicative of what we're seeing with a lot of Republicans across the country. It is a function of Democrats running on healthcare. And here's Martha mcsally on Hannity show, including building the wall. Yes, sir. Would you vote to repeal ObamaCare the vote? The John McCain decided to change his mind on I did vote to repeal and replace ObamaCare on our house Bill. I'm getting my asking for it right now because of being misconstrued by the Democrats. They're trying to invoke fear in people that family member, wait a minute. I know Arezzo Anna didn't how many errors zones lost their plans lost their doctors and are paying infinitely higher rates because of ObamaCare. Obamacare is held in Arizona. There's only one choice in fourteen right? Either did no choice people lost their healthcare covered. We have people right now. Three conditions who can't get access to health insurance because of the failures of Ana care. So I worked hard to make sure that we were moving away from that and towards something that gives more choice for people more flexibility to state level more free market get the federal government, you know, to not be doing one size fits all top-down penalty taxes mandate it's found. And so we, you know, I voted yes. Again, I've millions of dollars attacking right now. Misconstruing that vote I voted to protect people the previous conditions. That's good intentions, but their power either wrong, we need more conservative policies. Bring the car down and provide.

"The weekend is notification I got on my cell phone from the mothership that Missouri. Just be Kentucky fourteen to nine as. And the best of the weekend. Their water about Kentucky, but utterly Wildcats. We're still standing. Deal here. Yes, you are Daryl you got a gift call there at the end, but you got a victory. Congratulations Kentucky football who would have thought. But thank you. Who would have thought I am a military set to join us here. I'm looking at the four kickers in the pro football hall of fame Johnston route Lou the toe Groza, but he was also a tackle for the Cleveland Browns. George Blanda also a quarterback and Morton Anderson, so you've had true to true kickers with Morten Andersen and Johnston road, and then Adam Viteri will be the next. Yes. For its Lou the toe, Groza, amasis nickname. That's not a soprano character. That's an actual kick on the plane, and he was a tackle. He was this huge guy. I think it's number was seventy six toe groves would come in. And you just you know is straight ahead kicking. So just as big guy. Yeah polling. I wish we could bring that back where like a starting off at the Lyman had to handle all your kicking duties the league would be so much more entertaining. More phone calls coming up take the poll results. They're mclovin if you Clayton Kershaw would you opt in with the dodgers, seventy three percents, say stay in LA. Well, the. Fact that he thought he had ten days to feel it was going to opt out. And then somebody said, no, you had three days that leads me to believe that he's going to stay. Yes, mclovin. My other question was do you want Manny Machado on your team? No, no say you what not at that price. You can't say at any price. But if you're the Phillies who need a star say three hundred million if you got it and you want to spend it you wanna roll the dice on him. But I wouldn't want him. Not not for three hundred million. I expect a little bit more out of my superstars. I just saw this with the mothership. Adrian Wootton around ski Rick Pitino is hoping to become an NBA coaching candidate. No, it's true. Didn't he tell us that he's done coaching? Three months ago. He said I'm not going to coach again. I, you know, I'm satisfied with you know, and I go, okay. I said not even a small. Nope. No. Would you? Join your son, staff and minute. No, no, no. I wonder if he put his name in the hat for the Cleveland Cavaliers? I don't know throwing it out there. But man, I'm surprised that is somebody going to hire. And more and more information coming out about, you know, member coach K's said it was just a blip this whole recruiting stuff, and man, they're teaching names and numbers in there's a paper trail here. I don't know of any of these coaches get suspended. I still think Bill self should be held accountable here. Rick Pitino was held accountable. But if Arezzo Anna. Sean Miller I. There's enough smoke that there's fire here or there's. There's some questions that need to be answered here. Now, I don't know if the NCWA cares about it wants to care about it. But you know, if the FBI is involved in this, and they're, you know, they're tapping phones wire transfers money. How much it's going to take. They got dialogue here. Maybe the NCW doesn't want to catch anybody. Maybe it's like baseball with steroids. Like did they really want to catch anybody? Not at the time. And then they overdid it..

"That game was closer than it should have been, but they had a big lead and they were just kind of nursing it for UCLA here coming up. You know, at Cal which again, I mentioned is my biggest overlay the week, so Cal will end up on my card on. I'm surprised you coming down Arezzo Anna, Arizona doesn't look very good. Utah's probably not a good matchup for UCLA at Oregon at AirAsia state USC and Stanford. So for UCI. LA here, he'll it almost feels to me like the easier part of their schedule was the first part just because now you're getting into conference play to where you've got a USC team should improve. As we go along a Stanford team that if Bryce love gets healthier will improve as it goes along, I'm kinda curious about that. UCLA not to say that you're taking a position on them, but I'm kind of curious to see if they actually do run into that regression or if you know this is just a defense that is bad on third down as bad in the red zone as bad in those really key areas where you need to be good. Yeah, I think that it's certainly possible that they're bad in those spots. I think they would regrets a little bit, you know, fifty, three percent on third down, not likely finish it back. You know, I think that will improve. Now, having said that, I would agree that UCLA schedule. It's tough here going forward. You say, hey, look at the schedule. You start thinking who's UCLA beach, you know, maybe they'll beat Arizona. Arizona hasn't been playing very well, but they have some really tough games coming up, like you said. So the fact that their their season win total was what what it was first of all, that was way too positive thinking for chip Kelly's first year, I think we, we both knew that UCLA was not going to be as good as what people thought they were going to be in. And you know, they sit where they do right now. I think people are reading aloud into that Washington game for the flying this coming week. I agree with you. Definitely an edge on on. How in this next game, we'll see what happens with UCLA going forward. As far as the marketplace. You know if the marketplace is going to move them up that much based on a close game against Washington, you might not be able to find value on them even though their defense should regress to the mean a little bit. All right. So we're talking about the glass half full looking for some positive aggression. Let's talk about the glass half empty looking for negative regression. This first one for me makes a lot of sense. I've mentioned the eye test that I've had on this team a little bit here. Plus they've got a quarterback injury to worry about. This is a very good one to pinpoint. I think. Yeah, this might be my favorite one of all Toledo's offense..

"'cause they still want to get rid of the thing. Did mansion put out a lawsuit where I mean a an ad where he shoots lawsuit, a law has, yeah, wow. It's it's funny because the wave at if ever seen a legal document the way they're written like the first page, just like a list of the plaintiff and the defendant's. So in order to make it look more like a like a what it is, there's a big red stamp on his legal healthcare law. But yeah, he shoots that and he's like, I got a trade. I hate this and that's actually, I mean, mansion has this way. If Republicans being who were honesty your ago would tell you they were more worried about beating him than a lot of guys in in blue states. 'cause he's just a very good politician. And I think that he, he crystallized and the best way different is. Yep, I was a, I'll I've, I've killed bad bills when they're Democrats reading them and I want to kill this bad one Republicans of writing and it's the details of Republican let loose lawsuit and their legislation that are really, really devastating was. So what do you think the chances are of the Democrats taken the Senate at this point. Oh, I'd say, you know, slim, like ten to twenty percents. They need. They need to hold their own everywhere. They can afford to lose maybe North Dakota, but nothing else. And they need to pick up Arezzo Anna and Nevada. And that would actually. The Arizona about and Texas that would do it, and that's very, that's very hard. I mean, everyone's busy right after Alabama, whatever Jones it elevated is from totally impossible to, you know, ten twenty percent chance of happening. And so they're pretty feel pretty good. I mean, I'd say Democrats better about winning that ah than they do holding holding the KOTA. So if they did both, they do pull this off. It's tough. I mean, and I lot of chatter in DC is not really tied anything people's moods. The Senate is tied to foles. They just for like by this point in twenty fourteen Democrats are starting to fall apart and a lot of key races. And then there are few the end that broke against them like the very end, North Carolina broke against them. Colorado didn't come back, snap back fast enough. They're worried about a couple of situations where just the can't did not have his his stuff together. Missouri just fascinating too because it's it's, you've got kind of class consultants who around Josh Holly, who are just really snarky and keep trying to make the issue that like Claire mccaskill husband is rich and she flies around in a plane. Which EV I heard that has like I dunno, Republican voters seemed to be pretty happy with guys who own planes. We're gonna go like, they've not really come up. They've also attacked her for like she's voted against the judicial nominees. And the fact that having all didn't really blow anybody way makes it easier for her to vote against them. They they've not really laid they are behaving as if it's still twenty teen. And you got a twenty point advantage, which I don't think it's been the case. All right. Let me ask you about that. How much salience does cavenaugh have in these things like you know is, are the Democrats Heidi Heitkamp feel like she has to vote. Brad Kavanagh. And if so, why I mean, is there like does that come up on the campaign trail?.

"You can win an autograph deandre, Hopkins jersey a couple copies of mad or the UK for life. There are some of you. I know that are still drafting this week. We'll get the draft while you get while you have a chance and we were, we were on their update in that thing. The second this news broke. So it's it's up today. You can print the chiefs out. All right. Let's start in Arizona. The cardinals Cup. Brice Butler off season wide receiver signing. This is interesting only because we, you know, we've had to decide between if you guys in Arizona looks like Chad Williams Christian Kirk locked in and Ricky seals Jones. Yeah, I'm placing my chips on Chad Williams. I think that early the in the earliest parts of the preseason games, that's where Chad Williams was involved. Bradford looked as way long term. I, I like both guys, but if I had to pick one to be a viable wide receiver to Arizona right now, I'm leaning Ted Williams over Chris. I agree. Are you really? Okay. So I thought you'd go Kirk sway might know Chad Williams. We'd we do need to remember it was a long time ago, but he was a third round pick and he's one of these guys that blows up the athletic measurable. He knew. Needs a real chance in. I think he's going to get one here. All right. Only other Arezzo Anna news worth noting. Jermaine Gresham did come off of the pup. He's not expected to be ready for the opener. So few drafted Ricky seals Jones, you're good. You're good to go, but keep an eye on it because he will be back before week. Six looks like Alfred Morris went for thirty three dollars a fab in our listeners lively. Yeah, I was. That's upsetting to me because I had that beats at one point our in our listeners a fourteen teamer. So a starting running back is extremely valuable, but I pulled my bid down and I think I lost like five bucks. All right. Baltimore finally said, farewell to prochet Perryman. Yeah, he is working out with the jets and relevant for further conversation. That is one hundred percent. Sorry, Perman here's more significant news in buffalo. Say goodbye, Korey Coleman. There is someone four years old. Farewell. Something we don't know about. You know, it seems like Coleman has gone from budding star to maybe out of the league. Oh, he someone will. I bought that he held on, you think he'll I don't think he's done. He'll end up some on somebody's practice squad. He'll he'll he'll go the route of Greg little. Yeah, it's it's not good when you've got that kind of draft capital in you in your traded for a seventh and then can't make the roster with Alvin Benjamin and Zeh Jones you. You can't break in Jeremy curly, right? I mean, they the roster right now in buffalo. Like I think curly is a speculative add to be honest with you in in deeper leagues and in dynasty, don't mind..
