"But why do you think she is getting ripped off John? Well, he asked for down payment. Okay, but how much $25,000, which is for represents how much of the job a quarter. Yep, In my opinion, I wouldn't do that. And I don't have a problem with that. I would. I wouldn't do it except under very special circumstances. There are ways to do down payments to protect yourself. Also, I like to pay as I go, But let's go beyond that. Now. Keep going. What else? So when I told her you know when they give the other when he gives you the contract, look it over and then right. Decide if you want to give you the down payment on she said. You know, you need to sign it right now and give me 25,000. Oh, boy, That's not good. But all right. Two weeks later, I need another 25,000. She gave it to him, and he doesn't have permit yet. You didn't have permits until last week after I started following up to see what was going on with permits why Arapahoe County was an issue him. And rap. A county was definitely friendly and helpful and said that's their jobs. What is she having done? What's that? What is she having done for 100 Grand? Are you having? Kitchen redone in a has The house. It's under 1400 Square feet. Well, I don't understand how she could spend 100 grand on a kitchen. For me. I don't know how she on a small kitchen. How does she spend 100 Grand? Well, no, no, That's not the only thing Then they're going to replace some windows. Oh, they're going to replace a sighting. And two bathrooms. Well, then, Okay, good. So kitchen, two baths. Side windows inciting. I get it. 100 Grand. What's the name of the company? All right. A contractor group. What? Got your hair standing? Yeah. I still haven't heard anything. What's going wrong? As He's banished me from the job site yet. Well, maybe maybe he feels you're a troublemaker. I need to know what what is going on? I said fine. I gotta interact with my friend. And how do you know your friends? How do you know? How do you know your friend by another friend of her stop by the Yeah, Things were going. She had to not be there. He just walked in the house. And the guy says you're trespassing. Get out of here. Don't And he knew who that other friend was, too. Okay from John because it sounds like where it sounds like we got some personality problems here with him. What is that? The only issue or two, but it's done somehow. Did she check out me with legal action? Okay. Well, let's talk about the job calling the police. I want to talk about the job. That's what I want to talk about. I want to help your neighbor that does your neighbor thinks she's being ripped off or your friend. I mean, she is finally starting to after Kate. He's wanting all of her friends to stay away. He doesn't want anybody to see what's going on. Well, you know, I don't think that's it. I would want her friends to stay away, too. I would want to be unobstructed and not have them probing around. Okay, I would. But I need to know we can have someone on expert from our referral us. Go and look at things. But how did she select Colorado Contractor group? What did she do to get them? He had put a steel roof on her old house. Okay, so I don't know anything about them. I really don't. I don't know anything about their ratings. I don't know anything about them. I don't know anything about the owner. One thing I do know we don't have complaints that I can see on them. Right. Mark? Do you see any? I don't see any know now. That doesn't mean they're great. It doesn't mean they're not great. And of course you can't go. You can't go by the better business bureau at all that there's just no, I agree. Totally sick now, But let's talk about the job. Do you know anything about the job? Or does she want us to have it checked out? Can you have her call us? I don't think she'll call you. I think that she's Either going to start the process of getting real. What's wrong with that? We haven't found a thing yet. Not that nothing. He just said she has bad feelings. People can't go see it, but we don't know what's wrong with the job. We have no idea what's wrong with the job. If anything is wrong. The problem I'm having with the whole thing is He knew what county was in, and then he all of a sudden, said, Well, it's a little tin address. I've been trying to get Littleton the they won't return my calls and the people now that I know it's in Arapahoe County, unincorporated They won't return my calls or anything. When I went to look it up, talk to the rap a county people, they said. Yeah, He started the process. John Polk County. What's wrong with the job either have the $50,000 for over a month and a half. What's wrong with the job? John? Can you give us your give us your neighbor's number? We'll call your neighbor directly. Listen, man, I want to help. But have you heard anything Except this guys? They don't get along. They don't get along, You know, getting get the timing of permits. Just so people know I don't care anything about that. Okay? I don't. What I care about is the quality of job now, if people say they're going to get a permit, and they don't I do care. If they don't get it, and it's delayed and they start work. I don't care. I don't care about that part of it. I care about the work itself. This'll. He's Denver's talk station with Ross Kaminski in the morning and Dan Caplis in the afternoon. 6 30 K. H O W. Let's get into it with KOA political analyst and local pollster Floyd Lee. So Floyd ballots going have to change or ballots in your mailbox has to change campaign strategy is a little bit right. Well, the fact that it's this week is had already changed the strategy mostly that everything had to take place a lot earlier than in the past. But you're absolutely right. So we're expecting about two million votes. And it's estimated that half of them will vote to those Senate. They're they're their packet back their their ballot back before the last weekend. So obviously, you gotta have a tremendous amount of advertising up these next two two and a half weeks. And then of course that last weekend. That's when again, I'll close to half the vote will come in overwhelms the clerks. But that's when you're then working like crazy. With what they call ballot chasing where you call people and try and make sure that they turned in their ballots, and obviously even help them get to the polls or again turned it in if necessary Floyd, I'm wondering is there any data to show that people that use the mail in ballot or vote that way or they more contemplative than maybe people that actually go to the polls where it's maybe a more emotional reactionary thing or am I making too much of that? That's a good question. The assumption is that the mail in ballot gives you obviously convenience, and it has in fact increase the percentage of votes, we're gonna get as I mentioned a couple of million navy about two thirds of that three and a half million people that got this pal a packet, and they'll be getting up this week. But as you know, it's a very long ballot with a lot of complicated initiatives. And it's also that does give people time to put it on their kitchen table talk about to take a look at it. And and so we shall see do they move advertising dollars around. For instance, if a candidate knows let's say ninety percent of arapahoe county voters have already returned their ballots. Do they take money out of that county and start putting it somewhere else? They do they they also put a lot of effort into what they call that Allah chasing. And that is that as soon as your ballot arrives. The campaigns are told by the county clerk, they do a print out every day. And that means that all the campaign, you can stop calling the people turned it in. And then you really have to intensify the people that haven't that would be if you're a democrat, the Democrats, respectively, the Republicans and also any unaffiliated that you think either live in areas that are inclined to vote democratic or maybe that you pre dentistry, so you can expect a lot of either robo or or live calls out of these campaign headquarters because that's that's something new where you can really target the people that haven't turned it in. And it gets pretty intense toward the end that's KOA political analyst Floyd's Rulli nine twenty five a little money uses. We.

"Unquote permanent for one hundred eighty two days so is this bill perfect no and i'll be straight up with you man that the thing that this bill in my opinion has to have is a built in kill switch we need to have a sunsetting of this bill after a year so that we can come back under the gold dome all the same smart people in each side of this issue get together and say here's where it worked here's where it didn't work here's where it was abused here's how we can make it better or let's just leave it on the ashes of good ideas that to me is the single biggest thing we can do to try to keep this thing moving forward red herring argument i hear is on my gosh now your neighbor or your disgruntled spouse rex skull print can make false accusation against you guess what they can do it right now i'm currently handling a case in which a security guard who is mentally ill made a false accusation against a worker at a priscilla and arapahoe county they wrap polk county sheriff responded they arrested my guy i work with your prosecutor sorted out and we realized this was false accusation and now i'm suing the guy in simple corden security company that he worked for and that's a possibility in the system false accusations can occur but went through without this act perish slob your ex girlfriend wants to get you in trouble they can call the sheriff and say hey he made this markham pace and the person will probably be arrested and the first thing that will happen whether they go to law enforcement or go to get a protection order the the guns are going to have to be given up and so it's not like that doesn't happen now so this claim that a mike god false accusations will explode what do you do with that well you're you're right craig and first off let me knowledge this i think it is very important to have a conversation about how any new granting of authority to the government could be abused that that's absolutely appropriate conversation to have but i think many of the people that have been driven to to.

"To protect our community and protect our law enforcement officers out there we need to do it and i'm all in favor of it so you know we've seen this in douglas county we've seen it elsewhere and you've been talking about some of the other places where these people have been coming off the rails and they are threats there imminent threats to our community and our law enforcement officers and i there is as you talked about there is due process and but i'm i'm trying to protect the community i serve the six hundred fifty thousand people that live in arapahoe county and all of our deputies and police officers out there that are that are in the arena it's not these critics out there that are challenging this but you know they're they sit on the sidelines but our law enforced mobsters have to deal with people that have these mental challenges every day so i we need to protect our communities and we need to protect our law enforcement officers and i'll have towards broccoli talks about it because nobody knows the aurora theater massacre better than he does dallas arapahoe county and that guy was red flag city and we could've used this act parish la mental health professional at cu was stymied she knew he was a ticking time bomb and there are so many red flags situations then on valentine's day parkland happens with that guy was thrown off red flag after red flag and i'm not content to do nothing about it from what i understand he had post traumatic stress syndrome and every time we contacted him and it was getting worse and worse and worse hit a lot of weapons we knew that and only because we happen to get a crime we could get an arrest warrant a search warrant and what do we do when we ultimately take them into custody he had eight or nine loaded weapons in his apartment pistols shotguns and rival stage throughout the department loaded ready to go and we were fortunate enough that that didn't turn into what we saw on december thirty first of twenty seventeen with the death of of zach perish so we we could use this it's it's not gonna be used very often i.

"In on both sides and interested in what you have to say three or three six nine six nineteen seventyone the purpose of a primary is is to ferret out these issues it's a verse from the bible i'll probably get it wrong but about i enj iron sharpens iron steel sharpens steel or something to to that effect and and that's what a primary does it it will even if the incumbent has a huge advantage it's still let's the incumbent refine his views and articulate what he actually stands for i've had some conversations with roger edwards and yeah you talk about money talk about position you talk about how you're catching fire and and and a strong point that he made is look i would've loved it if some big name hi roland money grabbing an atom in that in a negative way money raising constitutional conservative or tea party patriot or somebody would have thrown their hat in the ring nobody did right so here i am don't we need to honor that choice don't we need to support a citizen legislation citizen legislators and push back on career politicians like mike kaufman i mean that ninety nine percent of the time that's exactly where i would be in this argument and i'm not saying that when it comes to the general election if you don't like mike's positions you vote for the democrat i'm not that this is this is a challenge in the primary and it's probably not going to affect who gets the nomination and that will likely be mike but at least let him articulate where he stands on these issues because a lot of republicans in his district or distrustful because of his negativity toward donald trump and his reluctance to go along with that agenda he's part of the moderate caucus of the house which is not embracing trump's agenda well i'm gonna track him down when i get there and swimming he doesn't have you know armed guards around him with a ours because he will he will talk to me i shook his hand at arapahoe county i when.
