"The baby's you won't see. Hey hey everybody. My name is doug and i love movies as always. Douglas movies is presented you buy. Oc be rolling papers. No matter which paper you choose you can be assured all papers or vegan g. m. o. Free chlorine free and die free. Enjoy the show. This is douglas movies with a very special homes alone. Both sides of the pond addition to celebrate the release of the doc the sparks brothers. My guess our jake. Fogel nest april richardson and edgar right. Hey hello yeah. We did it you guys. This is international shit going on right here. Let them meet. Everybody individually starting with frequent guest on this show writer director of I believe his first documentary in theaters. June eighteenth the sparts brothers edgar right. Hello edgar thank you. I know a regular guest through there. I have been on for four years. Which makes me a terrible guest. A terrible regular guest rather and i. I would like to point out the rights director of spock's documentary because how can you write real life. Doug i it. Isn't that a credit that you have on it. No i'm just directing a writing credit by took it off because it looked it on. A documentary slept people to talking. Just i just asked the questions. Yeah i i agree that there should be. There's a few things that should have a writer credit on them. Somehow it sneaks in there that said fabricated. I feel. i did feel that. They're documentaries recently. Where i feel like they have landed upon something and then shoot the whole of the first off like i felt much. Ron tell me which one you famously like. Catfish the original documentary. Once they figured out that there was something in it they went back and show the whole of the first half as ricans -struction. Because why would anybody be filming saying. Hey i just met this cute blonde on facebook. Why would they be filming that. The last of it like where they meet the real woman. That's real but they went back and fabricate it s a couple of what i felt like Teacher it felt like way you just happen to have this wildlife crew when he was swimming through a particular spot on the edge when they when you just happen to find this one and you had the crew with you when that happened what the fuck and i just felt like a certain point i feel i leave the octopus alone right. What did he do. What did he do to deserve. Maybe he wants to be on his own. Thank you for the ocean. For a reason. I carried on a private relationship with an octopus for years. I've never once filmed it. It's my personal business. I'm uncomfortable even talking about it on this show but it is it my activist teacher. It is a love affair that access does does teach him how to love. And it's It's it's fascinating to watch. But i was quite shocked. Like there's some really heavy documentaries it was up against the oscars and I really love crip caps. I was personally just surprised at a nature doc. Essentially one over a new collective as well. The daca romanian nightclub five which is about is how can a heavy as it gets which was amazing documentary. Now i i mean i wouldn't have minded if my was sexier i think that's light. It was where it was heading. It's what we're all thinking and light. Wasn't they code like mike calamari matahari. I mean it would have been much so much sex. Yeah i can't. I haven't seen it because i can't handle anything about underwater anything like like. Obviously this goes deeper. Like i don't know it but i can't. I'm too scared of the ocean. I'm too scared of anything. That's like the deeper you go on the ocean fish like chainsaws and lazily and stuff. And i can't handle that secretes him out way too much so i can't handle an octopus feature. I also i have not seen it either. And it's for no other reason than me and my wife just didn't care you famous j. famously. Have a fear of teachers yes. I also like the teacher in the title. I'm not. I do not want to learning the except for the old rob lowe filmed teachers rob. Yes he talks about. An his new autobiography believes why. I wasn't it about the teachers. She would have been like he was one of the students. Yes he was one of the students. Which is why i could handle the film like the poster was like a the adults like it was about the adults. That's i guess. That's why i don't remember rob loved in their turn. Album covers this like an apple. That's being lit on fire. I guess it's like a cherry bomb. Or something i don't know it had like a metal soundtrack was up to the new. I did yes i saw. Every movie nominated for an oscar this year for the first time i think ever i did the same for the first time every single one. Yeah did you feel. Do you feel that it was the same to all the way through or did you take talk house when ellison twins of playing the same character right. Do you think the. Add more than one eight octopus. One of the octopus was mary. Kate also swap them out and they get tired. There was a there was ample opportunity to do that. Like there's there's in the uk there's a famous kids show called lupita where they had a dog code petra on the show and then it's a famous kid share and they had this doku petra and then the dog got killed. I think run over by a car rather than upset the viewers. They swapped out the dog but some kids wise to that same etre looks different. The thing the kind of life is a fake at. I had kind of a serious question. Which will demonstrate not only my fear of the ocean. But also how i am could you if i put two octopuses in front of you could you tell the difference between could if one of them was wearing like a funny t shirt and one one of them was wearing. I'm with stupid t shirt and then that should have been the poster for the film that yeah and maybe would have watched. I like this theory. You have becker now. I'm starting to think maybe they brought in like special octopus specifically for the love seat. They catfish us when love. What are their labor laws for. Automated like children can only work like six hours a day or something octopuses are just like the olsen twins. listen only six hours of labor. I still got two more guests. Richardson is here. Hello april how's it going from the. Why do i like this podcast. Yeah that's just one. I started because. I was bored when i moved here. England and my husband started doing that. It's fun that's funny. You know. I thought we only have the one guest in england today but then it turns out. That's where you live now. That's where i live now. I have yet to develop fakey madonna accent. I'm actively fighting it every day. But yeah lived here for a couple of years. Now april april totally figured it out. She's like i am gonna marry a british pop star england. Not a i. i think. The last time i saw you was when we were all at the sparks concert. And you're getting ready to move to england. Yeah he had only a few weeks before. I moved here and then i got here just in time to be on house arrest so great. And that is jake. Fogel nest everybody. Hi everybody nice. A writer producer. Jacob all traits. Yeah thank you doug. I am a jacob all trades. I've never actually had signed that strays to myself. And i don't know why. I i guess that is why you doug get paid the big bucks I gotta i started a podcast very During the pandemic I took a break from podcasting. Since i was fourteen years old it had some sort of show of some kind of my entire life. And then i went and became like a writer producer. Type person you picked up a couple emmy nominations and like i miss being behind a mic. So i got a new podcast. People can listen to if they want. What's it called. And what's the what's the premise. It's it's it's first of all. There's the patriots version which is Basically doug has started my own streaming service so it's like net flicks But all of the content is jake fogleman's based so it gives you access to like with all due respect to taylor swift. I was smart enough to own my masters'' when i was a teenager and he can actually see old squirt. Tv the show. I did on public access. It became an mtv show. You get to see that again. And i do a weekly show called. I did this. I where it's just me you see clips from the old show me now. Talk about whatever's on my mind. Sometimes i guess. Sometimes i don't and there's a if you're want to check it out for free. There's like a free she'd on all the podcast things. And that's just called jake fogleman's free episodes. That's a great name. Yeah it gives you a you know. And i do all different kinds of stuff on on my streaming service which i'm calling fogleman's plus nice. You've already changed. His debut twitter focused. Plus though i no. It's just say they go. Nobody else do that. I saw somebody else. Just add a plus at the end of the day that was so funny so April and jake are both here today because in part because they are both in edgar new documentary that he didn't right and it has no octopus in it and it's called the sparks brothers because the band sparks are of course To real life brothers. And it's the you know it's the best ban a lot of people don't know about and what jake in april you've seen the movie. Yes do you remember. Like how often are you put. How often do you appear in the film and say something i mean. I don't cover those times. Do you remember any of you. Do you remember what he said. I do feel like i kind of maybe insulted. Transfer ananta bit inadvertently by saying. They were unlucky to work with sparks. But i do i mean. I'm so grateful to edgar though. Because it's like my dream. Like all i want to do is be a person who gets about stuff that they like on camera. So it's like the idea that i just got to be in the thing. These guys are read in be in a movie saying that is by lifelong dream. So yeah even just having like one line and it was awesome but yeah it's great even as a fan like the crazy thing was watching it. I was like there's a lot of the stuff. I didn't even know even as somebody who's liked them for years and years because the privates like the wrong word. But they don't really you know not a lot of people know a lot about their per not like brad pitt or something and we're like paparazzi or fallen in the around there. A mystery in an enigma. The band you know. I don't know who says it in the film but it's just like you could read sparks wikipedia entry and know nothing about the total you know which And i'm in the film for like a sound soundbite and edgar said to me like. Hey i know you're a sparks fan and you know i. I like to interview you for the movie and i said you're being very polite at this party And you're never gonna call me but then one day he did and And the day that i went into interview ron and russell were there. I got to meet them. Which was a delight. And they were wonderful. And i said to edgar. You're going to cut me out of this documentary. I it's okay in advance He didn't for one. I think pivotal wine very very he and i much like april. I am honored proud humbled to be in this documentary about a one of my favorite bands and It's just. I can't thank you enough for Making personal i. I've always thought there should be sparks documentary when i knew you were making a sparks documentary that good. It's in the right hands. It's the right person to t- to tell this story. And the fact that i get to be in it for a second was just like icing on the cake so prized when you went like since banned for so long where you kind of like. I can't believe no one's done this before. That was part of the reason it came about kept thinking. Why isn't a documentary. And i it was actually so a partly inspired by having been a fan for a long time but you never around the time that i was I came up with iras splitting time between london and los angeles and Bringing sparks into conversation. As i frequently do i was very aware that they had a completely different following in different countries for different eras and that was kind of interesting to me because in the u. k. Must be new them from like the Mid seventies late seventies islands so glam rock years in late to the joe girardi years whereas e come to la and then everybody's talking about kiro new wave years people lights obsessed with angst in my pants and places and those ams and warm that sucker the early eighties albums so it was interesting to me that there was like unusually for a band. They they had a follow owing in different times but like in different territories with completely different records. And it wasn't really. I think until this century and with the advent of the internet or even like as kind of Bittersweet is sometimes. We'll let me say problematic that something might spotify is it is. This does have this equilibrium. Where like suddenly for the first time ever. You could just find the entire discography of spokes. Whereas before when i was growing up you'd have to rely on what was in the local record store and sometimes that would be zero. Sparks hunts. he would be like an easter egg. Hunt to find a spock salmon and it might be like one of the most famous ones they might be flicking through and find pulling rava. How one of the kind of let the so of lesser known one so very difficult until recently to kind of really get your head around the entire output of the band and that sort of why i wanted to make the documentary at. I will say this. Jay can a There are a couple of people who didn't make it told you should count. Thank your lucky stars. I e to apologize for the few people who didn't make into the interview. That octopus them out edgar. I can't. I can't even imagine. Because it's just it's just it's a murderer's row of pop. Culture figures and musicians like honor appears algiers. It's the only movie i've been in and so far you know i no. It's very interesting i. I've been in two documentaries i was under. They might be giants documentary. Which i think is hard to find now and now the the sparks documentary and jae hyo like you have like. It's kind of like you said you agent. I only want to be in documentaries about all musical joe's complaining who has his own the who else is on your list. Listen is basically. I've said to dave grohl. I know that monday from one to three. You have set aside to shoot documentary films avenida. He just sits down and he just does interviews for the ones that he appears in and then the ones that he makes it. So dave grohl. I've just up to him like whatever you need me forum there in terms of other oddball do us. The truth is honestly edgar. I can verify this with another documentarian. Jeffrey schwartz who. I don't know if you're familiar with his work but he's great. I said you know if there was any band. I would want to make a documentary about it was it would be sparks and and i just didn't do it and think thankfully i didn't start it or Because you did a much better job. You're the only person. I think that could make the sparks documentary. There's a funny story to how i kind of got eventually goaded into. It is the way. I feel like i said allowed to many times. There's maybe a bit like candyman is once you've said at five hundred i'm gonna call you on it and i've said many times in the way that like. Oh why isn't there. A documentary about sparks. I'd said the same thing friends saying like. Hey you know the only thing stopping this ban from being as big as they should be or people realizing how influential they are is like an overview. Because if you like you said even read your kapiti page. It is still a daunting prospect. Getting into sparks. If you don't know them but if there was an overview where you could like. So you know the spock story career. It would be huge for them. And i said this like maybe three or four or five times and then the fifth time and the final time i said it was that sparks gate which were at april of the el rey in two thousand. All right yeah. Twenty seventeen on the hippopotamus tour. And i was in the balcony with philo. I said the allowed to him. So i'm just gonna make a dementia about guys until said you should do it because phil same. That's me. I just said yeah i will. And then and then after the show i went up to run russell and said hey i got an idea from something. I'm going to talk to you about and then as soon as you can imagine lots of people talk things up and then don't do them. But once i had said out loud to ron and russell. I would do a documentary about them. It was a vocal contract. Which i had to make good on absolutely that makes sense especially to to to ron and russell. A guy who. I'm many people over. The years have said to them. And it's like yemen you you. That is a vocal contract. And and you honor and boy did you hundred it. Were they game from the very beginning or were they. Because i get the impression that they like. It isn't necessarily a planned thing that they were like. Hey we're going to be super privates throughout our entire careers Sort of accidental. Because it's the thing it almost seems like well. Nobody really asked for details. We've never given them but were they. Were they apprehensive about talking about their private lives or their beginnings or their childhoods and all that kind of stuff i think they said yes because it was me asking the i know that they'd said no to other people like in the past. They've been also documentary. And i think one of the only like so they didn't they said yes. Like when i suggested it. And then you know the only thing that they we know the they also private and there's elements of their. They really wanna talk about relationships because as an element they wanted to retain some kind of a 'nigma that that's wasn't important to the music. And i felt like i would be. There's plenty to talk about fifty years of stuff to unpack in a weird way. Then after them having said we don't really want to talk about relationships. That was there anything off the table the few times when it does come up in the documentary organically and they can't help themselves talking about osama my favorite bits thing that was like verboten and yet like one of my favorite things is russell's talking about miss christie says. Yeah i became friends with her. And then the to show you can see. Ron starts a smoke as he said we we did against. Okay let me let me back up i. I became friends with miss christine. Bits where unguarded and then just being brothers of them not being able get through the so of a dramatic version of events is very sweet to me. I mean i think the thing with them but the the thing that's the truth of you said april about did they have a planner being that private. I think it's more the fact that they the line between rustling sparks has become blurred over the years and and in. Maybe the three years before. I started doing the documentary that i knew him. I was always kinda taken with the fact that they never seem to be off. Like never like nah. I always liked together. I've only seen russell twice without wrong. But then like solve seemingly always not coordinated kind of like without they're not identical twins but they do have that thing where like one speaks and then the other speaks entered toll coverage this is kind of amazing or just presence. They have they kind of like. Come as a jew and it's sort of amazing to be around and then in the documentary is you'll see like know they. They're only worry about it. The bay laughed. After as i said. Oh unlike the documentaries. There's no like end of second acts tragedy or like addiction or something like a real. I mean there is. There is a low in a commercial and financial sense. When i felt like behind the music like the inherent. All yeah. Edgar said was so smart. Structuring it album by album. I think was lake the way to go. You know what it's because they don't have a standard. That's what's funny about them is they. Don't have a standard rise and fall and rise trajectory that so of up and down like full for rice. Food is full. Every time they have a head they willfully choose to commit career suicide and then they come back from the again and happens about eight times and you think at some point that's like so of the continual lecterns has to be deliberate. Doesn't yeah but it's just you know as a result is the documentary about band. That's just fun all the way through and doesn't bum you out. Yeah i mean my egner fabricated. The octopus teacher it probably would. I would have had killed one of them and that would have been a mile. Do you guys remember. Did you guys watch behind the music. Yes solely how the funniest wants to be. Maybe this is going to be like me. Whatever it's like obviously most of them had a vice right. It's like they tell in there like oh and then this guy was on. This was hooked on coke and this guy heroin angel. Dust entered the huge but on. I remember john cougar. Mellencamp was just cigarettes. They were just like you couldn't stop looking like that's it my dad does that that's not a rockstar thing. They're just like all the time. No he also had a real issue with sucking down. Chili dogs always second down. Till i find that behind the knees. I used to like the ones. The most of the band's. I like the least i love life poison. Sign me up our about poison. I didn't think it was the journey. One that had like a superintendent's close up of one of them crying for a really long time. That was you cut away from this. It was yeah. I wipe my wife make fun of me because i will watch any music documentary. I'm not particularly the biggest fan of the grateful. Dead have i seen a six hour. Documentary dead yes. I have and you and i. I just any music documentary. I will watch it. The one that cracks me up the most is the rush documentary and russia's abandoned. I enjoy passively. I'm not like a super rush fan. But i'm not against them the way that some people are but russia's is a band it's a documentary. Were there is absolutely no conflict. It's just like yeah we really get along and We have our fans and we know we're maybe not considered the coolest but that's okay and we're okay with it and Yeah we've gotten along. We're very canadian unhappy. No conflict but it's a wonderful documentary all right well. I recommend people check that out like you know few years. Now in the meantime yes. It's this sparks. Brothers is also. It's exciting because this is a documentary about a great ban but it's also a documentary that's gonna have actual screens. It's you know. It's opening on many screens. On on june eighteenth which is it's big and i think it's Do you think it's the timing has a lot to do with it like You know you you. You're ready with a movie right when movie theaters are opening up again. I mean it's just fortuitous semaine. I didn't plan to have two movies in the same year. But then neither did ron and russell let the funny thing about russell. Have another film coming out this summer as well. Seven just remarkable. When you see the movie you see that they have the be of the movie. Is that failed movie. Aspirations where in the seventies they nearly had a jack tatty in the tim burton. Anita came together and particularly tim berne. They kind of sorta like wasted six years of being spoken to solve. Hold out for this movie. That never happened. And then lo and behold in the year twenty twenty one the fifty years after their first album have my feature documentary and they wrote and leon characters film a net with adam driver amount cuccia which is the opening film at the cannes film festival. This year. and it's it's written by spock's which is absolutely wild. So i mean they had a thing in the la times maybe preview the other day at like twenty one films in of them response spots related and run a russell tweeted to add a twelve bad. It's no i can't wait. I cannot wait to see the an ad. And and i will say you have to films coming out this year and also you had to release edgar hits. It's pretty it's pretty massive. Probably dia death. Nobody can say. I didn't do my part. You know because the sparks will be the first movie. I see in a theater since cats. Quite a pallet cleanser not believe that you went out on cats. Yeah isn't that the perfect. It's the perfect movie to see the last movie because then you don't miss movies so it completely killed my taste for going into metairie. It's one i saw in the theater. It's a real bummer. Mine was well man i think. And that's a good one and that was a good one. And i actually saw it a couple of me around the theater like four times but i love elton john so i yeah but then unfortunately i went out on cats. Yeah well you've all had a chance to watch a lot of movies. I'm sure over this past year and we do a segment on the show now called recommendation nation. Where i asked each one of you to just recommend a movie that you're passionate about just one movie that you know kind of like the movie you'd say to somebody that you don't know anything about them but you know they're probably like it just because it's such a huge such agreement. Let's start with edgar narrow this something. We've watched in lockdown. No does it could be any movie from any time. The is just a recommend something that my listeners specifically checking. Why are there certain movies. Where like if somebody hasn't seen et al qaeda like strong on them into watching it pretty quickly into knowing lights. We all have those movies so let me go for. I mean this is something. I'm sure everybody on this podcast saying but everybody has seen this movie. Let's go for brian. Depalma's phantom of the paradise if if you re like i'm not sure i can be friends with you if you hate it Now that's a tough one yeah that was. He's one of the first films. I'd watch with my wife and she had already seen it. It's a that's one of the. That's the important film in the top ten important films. I think if if i was on a speed day and the person happens to mention in that fifty minutes which is it would. It would be unlikely that it will come up. Say speed dating and i've never been speed dancing but in that fifteen minutes. Somehow they mentioned apropos of nothing. Oh i hate phantom of the paradise. I would be looking at the window immediately. Ask at that. Point would have the right even though at speed dating to assume. Just rep it out the table bye. See you later idiot. Appreciation for paul williams. You're a bad human. I did see somebody It's funny 'cause doffed punk recently up after eight years of doing anything. Seventy very brilliantly on the last punk album is that amazing song Song and co written by paul williams could touch and daft punk massive phantom of the paradise fans and they basically wrote a song. That last avenue. Like missing song for of the paradox. That makes much sense. Yeah i then somebody if you look up on the internet the cut together a video. Wednesday front broke up. Who daft phantom cut that song to footage from the film and it was so perfect. That like i actually. This is my humble brag now. But i emailed it to thomas southbound ample what he said miss out there bachelor even though it's copyright laws by having bike can one film to make both like love this. If you're offense in the paris fan or pump fan find that video online dow fans if it was really great house. He started out soft. Good jake what do you think. What's your recommendation. Okay so my recommendation. You know it's it's been a pandemic we've all been stuck in the house and and you know we probably want to get out. Wanna get out to the movies so my recommendation is true. Recommendation is a movie called love exposure. Which is got a running time of three hours. Fifty seven minutes and retinal direct. Have one one one question. Really briefy that point. Why not go the extra three minutes. You're you'll have to ask the director. Shell know whose work. I have become familiar with in the last year or two and he is brilliant but love exposure is a tremendous dome. If you're looking for a very very long film tremendously law mendez. Tremendously long But it is quite beautiful. love exposure and Show n shana come really. He's also got a tv series on amazon. That seems to cost a fortune called tokyo. Vampire hotel might not be for everybody but it is certainly for me but that. That's my recommendation really really beautiful film. Okay what is what is tokyo vampire hotel about. I don't Is about a vampire hotel in tokyo. But really at that is that would be reductive in explaining what it's about but it's got a lot of primary colors and a lot of blood why to say. I like guitar because one of my pet hates usually is like something that happened in the last fifteen years. Where comedies just became like the just one would describing what's happening and what's in it bridesmaids neighbors my right at that kind of thing come from like like it like titles just went out the window and they just describe exactly what's happening. That has tons of them. I can only out to please tell me out. You're absolutely right. Tokyo vampire hotel it is. It does not begin to describe what this show is a about it. It is it but you are yeah. There's probably a movie coming out called romantic comedy very. Yeah yeah actually. Already dudley moore is it. Is there a film could remember. That's called arthur arthur. To on the wrong there is no meadow eliminates grom no. It's romantically yours. That's unfaithful to you on facebook. There is a movie called romantic. Comedy with dudley moore. You're right did you. just look it up. Jake no. I just i swear that four romantic comedy. Nine thousand nine hundred eighty three dudley moore and mary steenburgen. I wasn't kidding. No it's that's real. Yeah and but please don't look stuff up because then that makes me off at this point. Start when they had the board meeting the w morphou from like how whatever's on the list of titles romantic comedy genre and the title of the film mixed up. There was a mixup. And then it's oc. We already made the graphics. It's just there's so many like i. I swear like most the movies it's been more in the title is the person's name you know like arthur and nikki and maude and price and others. But i must character ten when he plays he was the best april. What's your recommendation. Well mine technically. I don't know if this counts as a movie. I was just thinking since. We're talking about music documentaries. Also maybe doesn't count as a documentary but erg of music war. I watch it like once a month. I mean it's just as far like edgar. This is kind of my thing like if anyone's like what kind of music do you like. I'm just like watch this. Dvd because this is every foley it's like the police acronym bodyman going. If you haven't seen it. It's i think it's nine hundred. Eighty one nine thousand eight hundred eighty one. It's just a compilation of live performances of everyone at that time that was good. It's like the cramps pairs devaux gang. Four let's call gary Gary yeah yeah. We're gonna music war. It's you you you a. H. erg u. r. g. h. exclamation point on music war. Yeah erga music were and there's a companion to help sat and what's it's available again I think through the warner archive. You can stream it. It was not available for many years. And what is amazing is. Apparently there's hours and hours of other extra footage that exists and that hopefully can come out. I mean it's a music rights nightmare but there is this footage that miles copeland made it. I s and related sewer copeland of the police and there's even more erga music war that we could get at some point. Yeah it's amazing. I mean everything rules but it's theirs especially my favorite song on. It is valium by this band band. I'm doing air quotes called invisible sex because no one knows who they are. I've done so much research because the song totally rules in the band performs it all in like basically has matt suits and you can't see any of their face. You don't know who it's i think it's people from like i think it might be somebody from the payers. I don't it's like. I think it's other bands that were on stage at that venue that night but no one has come forward. No one has come forward. Have been like i'm the singer. I'm nikki tarisa. I wrote that song which is so interesting to me because even deep dives on the internet i cannot figure out who was in this band for this one time performance and then they never performed again. I feel your documentary debut and yeah down around just wanted to point out. The irony is the original title of that. Dudley moore and mary steve and was a romantic comedy. He's been around since two thousand six so we must be doing something right so why not join our nonsense each week. Never not funny. The fastest our and podcasting. We're back and it's time for some games and in honor of the sparks brothers. I wanna play the game. We play on the show a lot called. Abcd's nuts but today we are going to spell sparks brothers. So the idea is that. I'm gonna tell you a letter in the title. Sparks brothers will start with. We'll go out a better. Start with jake. So i'll give you the first letter which is s and you name any movie. The begins with ass and you stay in the game but if you name the movie that i wrote down in advance then you win the game automatically so this thing could and fast if you guys if everybody anybody figures out the theme because there is a theme to all of the Answers to all of these letters. All right i'm gonna hang so jake. It's the very first one name a movie. The begins with the letter. S scott pilgrim vs the world. That would have been the perfect thing for me to write down because of course i love that movie but i. It wouldn't fit into theme that i have to biased. Because what i wrote down stop making sets the next letter t. And that goes to april name. Any movie begins with p. or movie. You think fits the theme but begins with p. my god. I'm so bad at things like this. I'm not good at times. Things and movie the starts with p. Somebody can take my turn out so hannah there you. That's where you are now. I am so bad things like this. Oh well that's that's okay because it's just just blur the first one that comes into your mind Because also this game a warm up. The next game was really matters in. it's much harder. Poverty rachi right. That i picked the next letter is a adversity. You can end this thing right now. Also got all i see. I've got to say. I had an eight movie but i need. Guess the one that you are. Use a roll music related so what. Oh my god. What is a m music them. Starting with a God dammit i gotta go i gotta go with it right but phobia which is what you have written down though. It's not a of you. Heard of a band called en ville alma. what what. I didn't write down the full title though. What did it have more words after an animal. The band name and handbill the story bill. The story right. yeah okay. The next layer is are and it goes to j. I'm raising rather rocky horror picture. Show love great answer. But not what i wrote down. I wrote down rolling thunder revue. I now now. You're starting to get it. K- goes to april kiss. Kiss bang lead other great rudd but tyrod kurt. And courtney yet i did. I got a catholic or you could do this s for a music film. Oh my god this is really annoying me. Ssi music film. God damnit what's like God i ezra music s for a busy for the times a great one but not what i wrote down. I wrote down searching for sugarman. Dammit he be to jake. I'm gonna cheat here for timing purposes. Bob dylan's don't look back ways at cheating. Because i think it's it's just call. Don't look back a film idea pin baker. but but that's that's my final answer doug. Because i 'cause i wrote down bob dylan don't look back an honor gigi. Yeah there's a great deal. There's a lot of. I was able to get every letter. There's some documentary or or more document. Music documentaries that fall under every letter now coming up later in this would have been beyond. Say's homecoming made it in here. Now ramstein in america. That film is always on the tip of my tongue. Yeah did you. did you watch that. Doug i've never seen it. No but i just. I just heard yesterday on the radio. I just written this down. And then i heard on the radio rob steen coming to a the los angeles four like it's plagues the word la soon. I get my tennis back. They are back. That was great. Jake you did what i was hoping somebody would ask you. All love music and documentaries and You win the opportunity to go. I in our next game and we'll do that right after this break. We'll be right back. We're back and i want to quickly be remissed. Didn't mention we did touch on briefly. The edgar has his other film coming out this year. The next narrative feature last night in soho is all the posters and stuff say october is there. Is there a specific date or is it right now in the in the us. October twenty second. I think it's because in the uk dates. It's like one week later so to avoid confusion we just had auxerre about and also never really quite knows what's going to happen this. Just keep it just a tiny bit bake. Yeah yes definitely write it down your calendar right now here in the states. June two and doing pencil. Uh definitely coming in tiber nice trailer edgar by the way thank you. Yeah was exciting. Yeah well you know. i'm. I'm i two trailers until after i've seen the movie they're not finding interesting and but i did you know i did of course glance at it and you know the visuals are all awesome and i love the you know that you use the song you know. Just slow down version. That song downtown. Anne tell you the joy in the trailer as well. Yeah yeah and a little bit debate on the internet because people you know didn't think it was her thing and yeah she thinks perfect. Yeah it's great here. We go this. It's a little edgier might remind you little bit of The classic leonard maltin game because there is it is a bidding game. I will name an actor or actress. Jake's going to go first and everyone will get a chance to go first because we're gonna play three rounds and basically i'll name it actor actress in jake. You told me how many movies there's you think you can name in sixty seconds okay. And then. After you've made your announcement your proclamation. Then we'll go to april and she can either challenge you to do that or she could say i. Can you know. I can name this. Many movies and many more to the number as she want's gonna go to agar et cetera. So the idea is the person who gets the point is on ener meets the challenge or makes the challenge if the person fails and Yeah and first person to two points winds jake. How many movies can you name that. Have paul mccartney in them in sixty seconds. Yeah i'm gonna go with seven. That is a strong very strong opening. Bid man yeah. The men didn't embrace acting the way. Some of the other beatles did but he is in some movies april. You think that Jay do that okay. So if i can't challenge say yeah you either you either roll with it. You say you could do eight nine ten more absolutely. Yeah so that puts you in a position where you just basically challenged jake to do it. Yeah go ahead jake around kind of here's how it goes we're gonna send we put sixty seconds on the clock and I'm going to say a number after each of you name just to you know just to keep track so take breath in between each one and it's clock ready yes it is. Okay begin now so we'll get it out of the way. Give my regards to broad street. Love it that's one help to a hard day's night three then i believe. Let me think here. Paul mccartney seven was a high number. You did not yet lease sacked it wings span. Which is a concert film core. Okay i'll give you that one because you're not gonna make it. He doesn't have a cameo in spies like us so the movie not be. Okay let it be yes by And at the end of yellow submarine. It's time fix and you're out of time. Natural mystery stupid magical. Mystery tour was a tv. Movie does was a tv movie. It doesn't count although released theatrically in the states by cinema. I would've given you eat. The rich and parts of the caribbean dead men. Tell no tales saj right basically eight days. A week is the documentary. He's in that. Yeah i guess. I guess a documentary that follows the beatles that that would certainly count. Yeah that was. That was why. I went to seven. Because i was including some of the documentary films but i lost. I did not feel good. I thought and it was also just confident. And just well paced. You didn't you didn't panic. And i mean just opening with kids i didn't know he was in pirates of the caribbean. But i didn't think. I saw the last two and keith richards is in one but i didn't i pull megani was to the i didn't know that either but i also gave up idea sometimes sometimes. Imdb you'll just put somebody on the list in the as having been in something just because they saw i in here. If you see a movie theater you get your credits. Okay so april got one point and edgar has control out to see with shutout. That didn't even get to participate and that's just not right so we'll start with edgar and then comes back to switch order around because back to april next but edgar is start opening bid. How many movies can you name that. Have e- sabella rossellini. Yeah Let's say. Oh my god that's tough. I think actually. I can say like i could think of. Oh my god. I mean three for sure. Let's make it difficult. say four. Yeah you might think of another one by the time the kids if you get challenged but Let's go to april. I love the april. Could win this whole thing. Just by just by b- owns completely non-competitive. Because i'm just like trust. You go ahead. What yeah edgar said four. So you'd have to say five or more or just challenged him to do it. I think he can do it. I think he's gonna think of for. But i think due to go ahead against this is going to be agonizing so let me in the clock starts okay. Clark is ready. Go so blue velvet. That's why wild at heart to death becomes a three. You're killing us now. what's the fourth one. I shit a full isabella rossellini. Oh god back to eighties eighties. Yes way way. Wait wait isabella. Rossellini i should. I'm i'm floundering. I'm floundering in the eighties Can be a clue jake. Oh god no oh no oh wait. I'm tough guy down downs. How you guys like lane. Special language with each other was cheating. That jacob was really. That was a quote from that movie. Yeah ryan hasn't. Rift ramos lead bonkers. I've never seen the film. I've seen the clip of ryan. O'neal it's no mailers. Only movie right as norman mailer directed this movie ryan. O'neal just has a very. It's you can just type in ryan o'neal tough guys dance on youtube. It will pop up. It is just a very interesting line. Read very very interesting library from ryan o'neal honeybear that film. So that's the thing i've seen now. Did i cheat their by gave fine. I'll take it if i if i if i if i if i cheated a night that was like invalid. I'll accept it like you. I feel like it was. Yeah i feel like there was some some cheating going on there but also against one of your competitors and also i feel like april doesn't want to win this way down so i'm gonna go ahead go ahead give you the point edgar and then But we're going to switch it up now in jake gets to go first this on this third round And the actresses name is carol kane. carol kane okay. Films yeah. Don't don't go trying to say taxi. No yeah no. I i would never. I would never let me wait. Am i not supposed to have this one. No i'm supposed to pick the number of how many carol kane films i can films films I wanted. I'm going to be conservative and save three. Okay april I can think. I can think of three like right now. I've talked my head. And i'm not that great at having memory so i'm going to say i bet you could do. You could do five. You could do five. I'm supposed to tell. I'm say you're more. I think i could do five k. We'll go to edgar this. This is a competitive round. We've got everybody involved okay. So i'm as a brit and carol kane is not maybe as big thing in the uk. I'm going to challenge. I putu name five maybes. I love this an exciting finish. Thanks for being here. Jake i can think of. That's april gets to name. Well okay. i can't go ahead. Go to remember the adam sandler movies because those are like my two two of my favorite movies of all time so that counts right. Yeah what are they called. Addams family values the princess bride because three She's in scrooge. also another favorite yeah I talk a big game about five. Did i know you just one more. I need one more anyone. The adam sandler right out the game hidden clues for you jake and give you yeah. Pleased with the coal is coming from inside the house. The one movie of hers was. Why did i say for. I can't believe. Jack flash mike lee when a stranger calls yeah. She's also from inside the house using carnal knowledge. Dark day afternoon. Annie hall the last detail. The muppet movie and taxi show television show. Tax parents in jimmy fallon queen latifah taxi. They tried congratulations that. You're a winner. Today i let the j. for giving me the little lifeline. I appreciate that. You're not only the anytime somebody has helped me out by doing an impression of ryan o'neal that never helps anybody out. Well you guys. I was so glad we didn't have to go to a tiebreaker. Because it was going to be g. Marshall creek yeah. Creepshow creepshow creepshow. Just trae tracy too. Yeah i think so. He's in the.
