"So the chances that they were gonNA need to tweak something this season will be pretty damn big and normally that wouldn't be a problem and that likely influence their approach to the season. Let's face it back during winter testing. Nobody thought that we were going to be in the situation that we are now and appropriate is a concession team and they knew that they would be able to develop their motor across the season. So if they got something wrong, not a big deal, right? Normally. No but this season. Yeah. Big problem because of the rule change and in the midst of all of this appropriate discovered a piston problem, which was apparently responsible for a failure that dropped oil on the track in Harare's that last test session before the season started. So like Yamaha, they petitioned the manufacturer's association to be able to replace their Pistons and fix the problem. But unlike Yamaha where there was some pushback and ask for more information in this case with. Their request was approved right away. And they were able to fix the motors and they came out this weekend said, hey, thanks to all of the other manufacturers for letting us do this. Now, it's pretty easy to understand why there's different treatment for Apprecia- than there is for Yamaha because it's base. Isn't really threatening any of the other manufacturers when it comes to podium and wins So it makes sense that they're given more leeway to begin with and I think it's the right thing to do. Because after all, they are concession team and as such, they wouldn't have even had to ask in any other season they could have just notified motor JP their changes in them made them because they would. They would be allowed to do that, and like I said a second ago, they probably were coming into the season knowing that they had to work in progress because let's face it everything inappropriate when they introduced a new part. is a work in progress and they didn't anticipate not being able to make changes. So it was the right thing for the other manufacturers to do to allow them to make a change especially considering their position and where they would have been in a normal season. But with a pretty having made changes, and then already one hundred percent knowing that Yamaha desperately wants to make a change. Honda would really love to make a change and I would think that to Kati secretly would be on board with that as well because you know the same retire issue that the Honda is suffering through because those big three probably would all prefer to make some sort of adjustment to their motors I. think there is increasing chance. That, we're going to get some sort of modification window that the rule is going to be changed either relaxed for a small period of time. Or they're going to walk back entirely between this season and twenty twenty one now to do that, all of the manufacturers would need to sit down at a table and agreed together to create some sort of window or some sort of parameters within which the manufacturers commodified their engines We know that at least two the Big Three Omaha. Honda. Have outwardly said they want to change their engine design I think to would probably be onboard to and then. I don't think he. Would feel privileged enough at this point, the block them seeing as how they're just showing up as a non concession team at the table and they likely aren't GonNa want to rock the boat too much. Which means there is a real possibility if this issue comes up either at the end of the season or in-between seasons. Could all be up to Suzuki that they could be the deciding factor because This has to be unanimous. and. They could put their foot down and say no and think about this for a second. If, they win the championship. which is a possibility right now. I could absolutely see them thinking about being lone dissenter in a vote to allow limited changes because they got it right and the big three. Got It wrong and they were able to capitalize and they don't want to a give up that advantage and be Marc. Marquez is coming back. Marc Marquez is going to be very, very good even on. A Honda that might be hamstrung a little bit and Suzuki is GonNa feel like they need every single advantage they can get to be able to compete with mark once he's back on the bike, and so I could see that coming up. Now, in the end I, think that everybody would sit down at the table maybe hash out a little bit. Maybe Suzuki would let them sweat it out and then reluctantly gave way and because of that I'm going to be a little surprised if there is not some sort of window or limited changes within some parameters that are allowed to the sealed parts of the engine between seasons, all the manufacturers agreed on I think that's all they need. But even if Dorner had to put their stamp of approval on it or motor JP, technical direction, they would say, yes because any change like that would be in the interest of competition and they're never going to say no to. Something that's going to increase the competition and increase the action and excitement out on the track. All right. So let's move on now to the quad cy test kind of thing in Portugal today it was a very unusual test one I don't think we've ever seen in motor GP because everybody wanted to have a go at the Portugal track to be able to you know get some time on it figure out the layout figure out kind of strategy for corners and things like that. But it's not an approved Modo GP test track for the fulltime riders and so because of that, they could all go there but they couldn't ride motor GP bikes. So the test riders they can. And all of the test riders showed up road their teams, motor, GP bikes, of course, the only exception to this is apparently a because they are concessions team..

"Because we all know the Valentino Rossi is going to patrol us for next year. But we don't know is what's going to happen with Andre Ditsy also cal crutch slow. Both of those guys needing ride but of course, there's only one non do Khadi See left on the grid that being the aforementioned Aprilia and of the Pera. Think how crutch slow has the tougher time right now because he's obviously off to an absolutely dismal start to the season, his best finish of our thirteenth which he did in. Andalucia and then again in Bruno, and he's only managed seven seven points on the season while you know Andrea has a win he second in the championship right now. But we all know that cal is faster than that. He does have the wrist injury but I'll tell you this is why college so great because he does have that wrist injury got at the start the season and he does still have a pin in this scaphoid bone in his rest. But instead of saying. Oh. Yeah Man Yeah I had the surgery. My wrist is holding me back. He went out and said last weekend. Hey, my wrist feels fine. It's not hurting my performance at all I mean I'd love to blame it on that but the fact of the matter just not getting the results Calloway's sells it like it is. And so he's not taking the easy way out here and blaming it on the injury even though he could now that does come with a caveat because while cal may not be blaming the rest he is blaming something else I mean it is cal crush low after all. But he's blaming it on the bike. Instead, he can pinpoint the exact issue though in this does make sense it is not just cal shifting blame which I know some people aren't GonNa buy because let's face it just about every motor GP rider shifts blame at one point or another. But in this case, my measure is always can they really explain? Me and say, Oh, the bikes, not right. I keep asking for things. They don't give it to me and I'm thinking yeah you're probably just shifting blame away from yourself because you're just not getting it done but if they can explain exactly what's happening then you know it seems a heck of a lot more legit and cal can explain exactly what's happening he says that it all starts with engine braking and he says it with this particular twenty, twenty motor that it doesn't give him. Enough help in slowing down and so to compensate, you gotta use more breaks right then he's going into the corner faster than you anticipated. He's breaking harder than you anticipated, and now he's off his target lime when he wants to get back on the throttle in, it affects his exit of the corner too. So it all starts to snowball from the setup for corner entry and not getting enough engine braking and Kellyanne. When a step further to say that is exactly why we're seeing Takenaka gummy. performed. so much better than everybody who's riding the two thousand twenty bike because he's got last year's bike. and. Last year's bike didn't have those issues and they what issues it did have an injured breaking they got them all ironed out. So talk is in trying to suffer through the same things and trying to deal with the same stickle, the CAL and the guys on the twenty twenty bike car, and since this all is engine braking it's not mechanical breaking it. All goes back to that motor, and since it's that instead of the chassis set-up, issuer break issue. They can't just say okay well, two thousand nineteen was working. Let's just go back to the two thousand and nineteen formula because. The. Most important piece of the puzzle is that engine and you can't go back. You've got which Brung and so talking gets there on two thousand, nineteen engine all year long that doesn't have the issuing cal there's nothing they can do about it except work around the problem which he says that's what they're trying to do right now is work around the problem but the most important part about all of this despite the fact that the bike is you know hinting and problems right now the Kelly struggling right now he is adamant that he's not ready to give up yet on motor GP and he's also adamant that. Bike issues notwithstanding that he is still fast enough to go out there and compete. Now, that has to be taken with a grain of salt because again, this is cal crush on the guy's going to be ninety two years old and in a rocking chair, and still be adamant that he can go out there and compete on the motor GP bike but he is as motivated as ever to continue racing but this year. In Year but the question is wear. because. If the Andrea you donate suspension is upheld and I think it most certainly will be then apprecia- are likely to come down to a choice between cal slow and Andrea Davinci oh. So here in the next couple of weeks I, don't think it probably is going to make any move at all. They're going to be the last player here. They're not gonNA. Make any move until do Cadiz says what they're GONNA do. And even until Petronas makes it official with Valentino Rossi as well. Then they'll make their move. Once they know what pieces are left on the table, and when you think about this, this is a really weird silly season I mean in the middle of early weird year in general but. Usually when it comes down to the final choices of silly season, you've got you know teams are manufacturers fighting over people who you aren't even expecting to be Emoji P. I mean the last silly season signings are usually. Teams fighting over the guy who finished fourth or fifth and Modo two and this year once the dust settles into. Cadiz. Figured out there thing and Yamaha's made it official on their side with Valentino. The last two guys just standing there are GONNA be two incredibly experienced veterans with a ton of success in one of them has been the runner up for the past three or straight. So it really is going to be an interesting decision that it probably is faced with and you know on the surface when you look at stats alone pretty straightforward choice but it's not that easy at all I mean both Kellyanne Andrea have said that they do want to race next year although cal of. Course has been much more vocal about that. So he's super motivated but then you've got you know Andrea he's Talion Apprecia- three time championship runner-up. So yeah, the stats point.

"The end of twenty twenty in the first place because that would have been the way to get back Lorenzo and not have it negatively affect them as well and everybody else in the paddock. I mean they got everybody to agree. It's not like every other manufacturer didn't have a rider that was interested in writing a wild card race and so again why would they bulldoze everybody in the garage? And how can they convince everybody in the garage to say yes to this all just to get back? Lorenzo I. It's quite the stretch. I think Kelly. Pero may been binge-watching Davinci code or something like that during his time off because I don't even know where he would come up with that grand of a conspiracy. Theory that Honda was going to make the entire paddock. Suffered just to get it that who are Hey Lorenzo. When they could've stopped them in the first place and they chose not to all right. So let's finish up the show with a couple of stories that are devoid of just about any drama at least in my opinion. And we'll start with pearly and Katie. I'm getting an extension for their engine. Homologation for twenty twenty. You know a few weeks back motor. Jp announced that development all development will be frozen for all teams through the end of two thousand twenty one and of course that would constitute quite a bit of cost savings for the teams and the bikes that they would run in any races. That are run this year and all of a mixture are based on the final Arrow and engine designs that were submitted near the end of March. Well that's not actually going to be the case for APPRECIA- and for KTM Apparently the change was spurred on by. Ktm they were a little bit uncomfortable. Giving up concessions completely and that's understandable because remember team in APPRECIA- they're not locked in like the non concessions manufacturers do coty Yamaha Honda into Sukey. They spent one engine. And that's it. They can't change that engine the rest of the year but because our concession teams they could potentially change their engine design multiple times throughout the year as long as they stay within their gentlemen for the year they can pretty much do whatever they want but with this new role they would be locked down. They submitted that engine back in March. They're locked into it until the end of two thousand twenty one so in essence cates Yemen. Apprecia- become non concession teams. Just like the rest of the factories even though they haven't reached that same performance level yet. And yes everybody would be saving a substantial amount of money. Which is the goal. But there's no question that in that scenario. Ktm in Australia are giving up far more than the other manufacturers are. They're giving up their concessions in addition to agreeing to give up development for twenty twenty one But at the same time you can't lock down the other guys and then just give him inappropriate carte blanche to keep right on developing for a year and a half when nobody else can so the compromise it came up with is to give. Ktm inappropriate until the end of June to keep working on developing engine technology. And them whatever they submit by June twenty ninth. That's what they then have to stick with until the end of next season and honestly. I don't think that's excessive. At all. They get three months more than the non concession teams as really that big of a deal especially considering that both of those manufacturers. Ktm especially APPRECIA- have made some major changes to their chassis in the off season. So this will help them at least try to maintain some sort of footing to help them continue to compete to get closer to you know being in the ranks of the regular factor teams of the non concession teams. Because that's the goal. The goal is to have no concession factory teams that they're all non concession teams. You can't do that if you don't give them some sort of opportunity to try to catch up and that's what these extra three months or four and I don't think like I said that's excessive at all. In fact I wouldn't hold it against them if they maybe had an open window sometime early next year to have a couple more months to hone in refined their engines as well. Although it doesn't look like that's going to happen and as far as the Grand Prix commission has stated the revised deadline only only applies to engine development. It doesn't apply to Arrow packages sense concession teams. Don't get any extra benefit when it comes to aero. It's really just the engine. Engine allotment an engine development. That they get those advantages in over the factory teams on and then the last story. I want to talk about something that I wanted to discuss a few weeks back and I said we will eventually talk about this weather. Suzuki is going to explore a satellite team for either twenty twenty one or twenty twenty two. Well Apparently Day Brivio listens to the show and he wanted to make sure that we had something to talk about in reference to a satellite team so he revealed a few details last week. So thank you David. If you WANNA come on the show let me know. Just shoot me an email. Get you on But he said that they are indeed considering their options but for twenty twenty two now for next year the big question though becomes who who would be their satellite organization and he didn't answer that question. We're left to debate that ourselves. There are really only be two options here. Either picking up an existing team or you bring someone else in and expand the grid and it looks like the grid is going to be expanding anyway in two thousand twenty two because seems more and more likely now to take their factory operation in house. Of course that would then leave Grozny available but the talk. There has been that they would stick with really as an official satellite team. And so you know if you're Suzuki at that point you've got really just Vinci A- or a new organization and seeing Vinci as position with to. Kati may be a little bit tenuous after they decide what they're going to do in the future with Johann ZARCO. I would imagine that would be the best move for everyone. Involved IS I as Yuki to partner with VINCA and a big injection technology of resources could bring that teams level up along with those Zouqi bikes. But but who knows if they do want to expand and they get it approved by Dorna and Apprecia-. Does it takes their operation in house. We could potentially have four new bikes on the grid. Starting in twenty twenty two and that would be pretty huge when you think about it. That is a massive expansion of grid for one season but it would be great. I mean especially in two thousand twenty two when they're going to Max out with the full twenty two races that would be pretty huge to also be adding two new teams and four new bikes to the great at the same time. Although I really think that eventually if are approached by Suzuki I think that they would be stupid not to say yes because it would help them up their game so much their performance level will come up so much compared to the situation that they're in now they would have better sponsorship though would have better funding and they wouldn't have to do these pay to play rides like they've been doing the past couple of seasons and that would make everything better in the paddock. One hundred percent not knocking. Any riders may bring money to the table but we all know that when the team is paying the rider as opposed to the rider paying the team usually end up with a better quality team and a better quality writer and better results so I knew that the news was GonNa take our insure enough there. It is it did. That's why I decided that we would just put things up. Do the comments in separate show. Plus I don't know if you could tell or not but my voice starting to give out a little bit. I mean terrible allergies the past couple of weeks or so and that's all it is. It's a justice. There's nothing more than that. I'm not I'm not sick. Everything's cool but you can probably hear my voice. I can certainly feel it in my voice a little bit. So it's better. If we chop it up into two shorter episodes than like two hour long episode by the end. Be Talking like this so next up our comments not just yours but more comments from Mr Agostini but this time it has nothing to do with where he lorenzo this time he's talking about Marquez and weather mark needs to be able to win on another bike to solidify his legacy. So we'll chat about that and hopefully we're going to have some sort of official word very very soon on starting the season at Horr- as and what's going to happen after that plus whatever other motor. "I WanNa talk about your skin. Do you know how many listeners have dammed or emailed to make the very possible correlation between the Chin Zits that I've been complaining about for a month and the Agostino US batter rich cream that I've been putting on my face for the past month but didn't when you say they started before you got the the it's began before I got the cream right but new ones have emerged. You'll see this big one right here. There's there's another one next to it. I shall say I am starting my period okay so I do think that probably has something to do with it and I also pick them so they don't. Yell L. 'cause they're just so deliciously addictive yeah again it so. I don't know if there is a connection between the cream and the sits on my I chin listen. If you suggested to me you are not alone. There are many of you who have reached out and I appreciate it one person. I hate to say it but is is it. The boozy creamed the love our listeners I mean so you know lies detected there. Oh ooh it is apprecia- cranny Bucci cream and you have been putting it on your put on my face for a month and I have stopped this week. I lasted lasted a month. Okay and is the jar supposed to only last you a month. I believe so morning noon morning and night application. Do you have any left well. I can't tell because it's not a see-through can figure out how much I have left. I just have to keep pumping it out. I'm happy to hand it over to you. If you WANNA give it in a world I didn't dislike it. Yeah it. It fell. I got the rich if you're if you're in the market for Agostino Stina spader cream. I went with the rich Bader. I'll never get it right. I have such a thing with words. Why can't I ever learn them. Think Baba Okay Lab. Ah By my August Bader rich cream there we go I liked it. multiple people had said they went with the rich cream over the regular names so I did that. Maybe that was a mistake. It was very thick and heavy. I liked liked the application but had on you know. I wonder if this was not the best season to try the rich credo. I know it was summer. Maybe maybe I'll revisit it in January. Yeah you know we also live in a warm climate here around so this might not be might overkill it possibly but I do you love year round pouring oil onto my face right so and it's very dry here it is it is right dry so again it just did not. I didn't didn't I didn't have the experience of after a month like looking in the mirror and being like wow I am visibly plumper and my finer lines are reduced and really what it did was get me thinking and my thought is products are nice and they feel great and if you have something going on with your skin they could could quite help but I also think like more or less. It's all doing the same thing that's kind of where he landed. I it's fluffed me. More jaded in Terrell Valley Wild 'cause I love pudding now granted. Did I go to target yesterday yesterday and by the travel size grayson tonic line to try that out I did you did you did that. I'm still onboard but it was just kind of like they don't know there's no magic in a bottle That's just where I've landed. Now is thus the podcast and forever thirty five was goodbye. We we solved it. We did we like to say I just know it. Just kind of left me feeling like what's the if this works are. If somebody great like I've had friends who've been like this is the most magical thing I've ever put on my face well so I I do think that that raises in all seriousness I do that raises a good good point which is that there is no one size fits all solution exactly an in skin individual yes and also like so are emotional and psychological needs. It's totally and I think you have pretty uncomplicated skin. That is a great so it stands to reason that a lot of products would quote unquote work for you. I mean I shall say I have fine lines and nothing I've ever put on my face is ever reduced them which I'm also working on Kinda like okay yeah total. You know totally. That is my face yeah but it did just you know I tend to be the kind of person who like if a price tag is higher on something I immediately feel like it's better that is like a just a thing in my brain that has been that way my whole life you know like if I'm in a store I will by advil as opposed to the storebrand Ibuprofen which I have trained myself out of but you know like that just kind of I'm very susceptible to branding winging lane. I'm not proud of that. It's but it is it is the truth yeah so if someone's like here's this really fancy cream. I'm like this is the best so it's been a real journey.

"Majority of the bikes on the grid the honda the do cadi cham the apprecia- they're they're all generally known to respond best to a more aggressive style of writing. I have to admit i will be a little nervous. I'd be a little worried that i'd signed him to a big that contract and then tim rice's in he's going to leave me high and dry again but now we're going to go back to what i told you to hang onto for a second because that a particular idea of a style of writer and a particular style of bike. I wanna talk about that because a lot of people are pointing to that right now and saying with that's the reason that it didn't work out because he's a yamaha rider and the k._t._m. Is more of a honda style bike right. I do one hundred percent admit there are combinations that work better than others and that there are likely certain bikes that are best for particular riders however however i am not one hundred percent sure that there are bikes that someone simply can't ride. I don't buy that but that seems to be. The prevalent idea nowadays is lorenzo struggles on a qadi our honda because the bike doesn't match his style valentino rossi struggled onto coty because it wasn't his style <hes> zarko with k._t._m. The other way zukis too aggressive for the bike yeah you can point to all of those but there are also examples of riders on the grid right now where it doesn't matter her andrea certainly matches best with the dakota county but was bad on a honda was he bad on yamaha. No he was good on them. Both they're supposedly opposite bikes but he was good on them. Both and he was better than he was when he first got the duke odium fact and i'd argue that outside of actual winds cal crutch low ran about as well stats wise on a yamaha as he has on the honda and like i said they're supposed to be polar opposite bikes does does that mean that those two guys are vastly more talented than where he lorenzo or valentino rossi or andre you know one of those three but the other two no and and so while i would admit that zarco and k._m. Worth the best match for each other i think it is far far more complex than bike doesn't match rider so it was destined to fail and i would throw lorenzo and two cardi and honda and rossi and do cardi and you know nancy throw them all into that same category is is far more complex than oh this style. A rider install be bike. No can never work and was arco. The problems didn't start when he got the k._t._m. The problem started early on last year when he was on the maha that everybody says is the perfect bike for him. He had the wreck in lima. He split with his manager right around the same time. He never properly recovered from that that loan podium malaysia wasn't enough. That wasn't a full recovery now going to k._t._m. Certainly compounded founded the problem and made it harder for him but the confidence in the focus issues started long before the switch and those are a major contributing factor. I would say more so far more so than the bike itself in fact the numbers bear that out the numbers show that he was not that far off from his peers when they came to k._t._m..

"Last season he was wondering if maybe they have made the right choice, and whether they should have kept Andrea known a over Alex rinse for this season. But obviously, Alex rains has looked very very good in winter testing. And Chris is thinking maybe maybe they knew what they were doing after all now, obviously Alec's rinse has stepped up his game big time. And that's a very exciting thing. I cannot wait to see what he does this season. And it didn't just. Start in winter testing, keep that in mind, he really got things going in the last five or six races of two thousand eighteen and that's just carried over from the second half last year into this year. And at the same time, you've got Andrea known a on the other side, he's drifted off into his never Neverland mentality on the apprecia-. But if I'm being very honest, I do see where you're coming from Chris because there were a couple of interesting races that you know, they had at the end of the year. And I am curious how things would have gone had Suzuki. Maybe just kept everything the same, you know? And if Andrea had stayed for two thousand nineteen I'm just I can't picture how it would work out because by leaving and being forced to ride that apprecia- he's in a very grass is greener mode right now where he's thinking about that sukey as a huge huge missed opportunity. But if he never had that experience if he hadn't been banished to apprecia- would. He have that same level of motivation. What he had been that excited about the bike coming into this year. And you know, that one is very very difficult to predict because I'm not exactly certain if he would have appreciated the opportunity to be on that as Ukio nearly as much if there had been no question that he was going to continue on it. You know? So by leaving. I think he realized what he lost. But by staying would he have had that same, you know, feeling toward the bike? I don't know. And I'm also not sure if Andrea is going to realize until it's too late that his enthusiasm level and his effort right now in a less than perfect situation with apprecia- is the key to sticking around longer in the premier class. Maybe even moving back up to a better bike. I'm not sure I think that he likes to live a little bit too much in the past and not realize what is happening in the moment right now. And we saw that when he left do Coty. There was a little bit about. A blood there, especially with Andre David CO. So and he spent time commenting on him being focused on how do Qadi was making a mistake by letting him go instead of being focused on the task at hand. Which is let's go to Suzuki and show them that they made the wrong decision. And then he repeated that process when he left Suzuki when he found out he was not going to be with Suzuki anymore and the first year he was kind of down on the bike, and forgive reason..

"Again, I Pol Nevada if you've got things to do. Although nothing like I said, it's more important than motorcycle racing. And unless we show, you know, I mentioned an Email that I got from Dylan. It was Dylan who sent me the didn't mention his name. But Dylan, thank you. And he was telling me how to pronounce I'm going to try it again. And hopefully, I've got it right? This time goal was to ascend very French. When I say that a goal on cigarettes, the very French cigarette manufacturer that sponsored Yamaha and Ballantyne a Rossi back in the day. I have no clue why that one always alludes me. I'm so much about languages. I really concentrate on languages. I'm learning a couple of different ones right now. But they're always a few words or names that a little bit off on and French's always kind of got me as we'll talk about a little bit later on in the show. So I'm always willing to take a little bit of flack now. And then over words like golden laws or Johann Zarco. I know that sounded really bad didn't it or even Petco ya which kind of for us Americans. Feels like we're just mashing the middle of his name in the nothing this so still not too bad for an American. Right. I mean, all things considered. Thanks to Dylan not only for telling me how to pronounce it. But sticking with me through last week show when I said it wrong again in hopes that maybe just maybe I would get a little bit closer to be right. Pronunciation this time around. So thanks, man. Appreciate that. All right. Let's move on. You know, when it came to our conversation about apprecia-, and how Bradley Smith seems to have one at least a little bit of favor there with Ramona Abbas, Ciano and health are that might potentially take him. Not. I didn't speculate that he would supplant. Andrea. You know in a just saying that Andrea donation step up a little bit while Mick, isn't terribly optimistic about, you know, nays chances to move the needle on that are s GP and he thinks that Andre is going to struggle quite a bit on the appropriate. And then be out the door is soon as his contract is up maybe even earlier than that. But then what happens to him where does he go at that point world superbike? I would think that would be the only logical place for him to go. If it doesn't work out on the appropriate because I don't think that Andre. Is going to go back to a satellite team. I mean, he kind of already has when you think about it, and it's disappointing. That whole sentiment is I can't say a disagree with mic on that one. And if it does happen that way either a one and done or do you just kind of walk through his contract. And that's it it won't be due. The lack of talent. I don't think on Andrei his part. I think it'll be more lack of bike and lack of motivation, you know, make pointed to the bike is a career killer and both Christopher and RCB chip agree with him on that. And there's no question that apprecia- isn't invested the same way that all of the other manufacturers are, and that's why I say he kinda has Andre already kind of has gone to a satellite team. Because remember it is a partnership between Gresina inappropriate. So it somewhere between satellite team in a factory team. And that's how they're approaching their development that seems to be how they're approaching building their bikes, and those are the types of results they're getting on some days, they might be able to be at the back of the factory pack, but most days there well with. Thin that satellite by Grange. And this is the time of year when that all becomes readily apparent you know, when everyone else is showing up with tons of parts KTM, funky ferrings, do khadi and new engines Yamaha apprently is perpetually at the point where they're lucky to have one two thousand nine hundred bike available for each of their riders. So, you know, don't go out there and Reckitt and sorry Bradley Smith, but you have to sit aside because we don't have a two thousand eighteen bike for you. And I think that part of that is due to the structure of the team. I mean, it isn't a true factory effort in the sense of Honda do khadi..

"And they've been able to do it successfully with rats. But I think we're a long way off how did getting that diagnosis changed things for you. And I shall it's dad. I think it helped enormously. It was a life changing moment for one thing, we weren't addressing very much of physical disability at all. And writ syndrome comes with scoliosis. It comes with this apprecia-. We were dressing sensory issues. Behaviorally shoes we were going to physiotherapists, but not really concentrating on keeping her. Comfortable in chair, for example, when you've got scoliosis just sittings uncomfortable. So she would have been in pain in a way, you guys wanna wear all the time, and we had no idea, no idea and sleeping is fitted by writ syndrome, and we had no idea that someday should just letting her stain bid was a good option and not forcing her to do her normal activities. So I think what we did was we accepted out go for who she was in instead of trying to fix her. We said this is who you are. I think it helped relationship with her a lot. But it also probably helped relationship between her, Dan. And I to be able to say, it's not our fault. We can let go of trying to fix at order trying to help. You communicate had been such a big thing for you. When you under this wrong umbrella of autism. Once you get the dog, no sus of Ritz. What did that mean for how you went about trying to help her communicate? We would gentler on her. We let. Her get away with more stuff. Probably. Whereas when we thought it was autism. We thought it was their job to iron out these behavioral problems. I think what happened is if she did just wanna flop around on the couch. We would say okay now, you know. Right. Well, really in five minutes going so we allowed who physically to relax a little bit. And I think has a result. A lot of that frustration that she was feeling settled because we were able to say, maybe she doesn't like this because back's hurting whereas previously were saying, oh, we need to expose it to these more and fix this behavior. But we didn't really then try any other communication methods. A lot of the other mums were struggling like we were they wasn't at that stage. The technology that there is today. There was a machine called a Donna Vokes that we hide for a while and that had little buttons. But again, she needed to press them a pill at the boy in that automatic chair. He pressed a button to talk until us that joke a lot of the device. Ice is required a finger press or elbow press cheek press, and with the Prakash was able to do that successfully. So what technology can help. Well, the latest technologies the exciting stuff. But what we did was realized that you could do simple things. So we bought a couple of whiteboards, and we drawer picture of a David Attenborough DVD Cy absurd and write the word, David. And then we drawer picture of maybe share in these and don't laugh because they're pretty bad..

"Are you slash conversations? You'd mentioned early Sam apprecia-. I know that I'd heard about it when she had autism. But I didn't really understand it. An I understand it now. And what it means is if I was two one two we go my big toe. My brain would send a message to my big toe so quickly that I wouldn't even realize that it was happening. But when you have appreciate you could ask your brain to the go you big turn in maybe a five minute delay. So I imagine from seeing videos of people who've had strokes. That's a similar thing that if they want to learn to walk again, they actually have to train the brain to the muscles. And of course, why trying to communicate with cards would work because it'd be a lag. Even if she could up that card physically also comes and goes, so that incident of her throwing the milkshake a lot of people would say how come she could pick up that milkshake that day? Well, it could be that. Maybe fifty other Tom. She's tried to throw like it just happened. That was the diet old came together for her all she can pull my hair really quickly to you know. So I think the approach. Xia comes in goes, the the condition of faked cognitive function to that effect, her brain. That's tricky one. And I've spoken to a lot of other moms and also to professionals about that it's very easy to say. Yes to that and say, of course, it affects every other muscle and organ in the body. But the thing is how would we have in our until she can communicate promptly. We're really only guessing what her abilities would has it against that. It's a lot better than what we think and similar to that young man that we saw that day on timber mountain. I definitely don't you can judge by her out. Would look, you know, she dribbles and she often has a slack look on her face. But then you might say something like oh mom's coming over later just to somebody else in the family, and she knows that means grandma's coming over who she loves and she'll look control start looking towards the door. So she doesn't miss thing. So the level of impairment is very difficult to judge. Wjr do the symptoms tend to get more severe over time for for Goldens goals who read syndrome the answer to that is. Yes. So what generally happens is they can often look normal for the first two or three years of life in Charlotte's case, not so much, but a lot of young girls mums say they did. And then they'll suddenly start changing and regressing a little bit. So they may have had words and lose them. They may have had walking they may lose that. And then that sort of plateaus out and then once they reach their teens. They have another developmental change where they might lose the ability to walk completely, which is pretty much wish olive is she she cannot walk on a system anymore, and she used to be able to and then that generally plateaus off they did use to think that children with Brett syndrome didn't live past sixteen. But now at this blood test, I've met mums of Gilles with writ syndrome who is sixty. So you're able to prove someone's got. Tyndrum? So therefore, you can check people who may have previously gone under the radar. So did genitive. Yes. But not necessarily a short alive or much shorter live. And is there any cure on the horizon? Yeah. Great question. That's the million dollar question. Because it's the x chromosome and women have to they're working on a cure whereby they'll turn off the faulty one and we'll upright on the good one..

"And I think the ambiguity of that relationship. The the fact that it has different sides to it is what made it work well for me. And I was so glad that they establish that friendship between her, and as Monica mentioned her friend because I think the fact that they you know, they go off and talk about what it's like to work there gives her some relationship with somebody other than the family where you get. Different sense of who she is outside of that other than her boyfriend awful awful, awful boy boyfriends band. Hers is the worst. But that's a competition to know because. One of the after screening QNA's that I was attending somebody brought up. How this film is really anti men Inc. Quit on took. The question was just like, oh, that's what happened. I don't know. What else to say? One of the things I think is interesting too. Is that this is a film that I think it's really easy to get into the a very direct attempt to translate like there's a there's a huge water motif that I think the beginning of this film is so special and the first time I saw it when you don't know what that opening what those opening shots really are the beginning of it is so distinctive and beautiful, despite the fact that it turns out to be a very mundane scene and a lot of ways in terms of what's actually happening. But you can it's very easy. I think with this ability. Well, the water stands for x and the the car that is almost too big to fit into the the space that they have for their car about stands for XYZ and not the kind of like, you know, the family, can you know, is stretching the limits of their middle class. I mean struggle of the urban proletariat. Go that way. But I I agree with Glenn. I think the more rewarding to see it as just to kind of let it exist in your eyeballs and brain here to tell you it works if you're just seeing it on television. I mean, yeah. Of course, it would be a more immersive experience in the theater, but if you can only see it on that flex go ahead and see it on Netflix run do not walk because this film draws you in from the jump and I phone once do you know, what that means? Once during even though this film has very slow the language Hempel tiff scenes of we're just due to watching water flow, for example. And yet you still can't look away. This is as I said, it's masterful don't actually have to run you have to saunter over to your calories that it's something there is this beautiful. I I don't wanna go without mentioning this incredible scene. Wherein Cleo is shopping for cribs while the Corpus Christi massacre plays out outside the windows and just the technical mastery that goes into making that riveting terrifying scene happen. You are in the hands of a master watching this movie, and I think we should mention because we're taping this on the day that it received ten Oscar nominations in the morning, including best picture and practically everything else that could have dreamed of including a nomination for apprecia-, which I think is really amazing and so dominant for marina de Tavira as the among. Yeah. Yes. I was surprised for marina. Because she had not really gotten any accolades or wards and any other critics awards or anything before that. So it was just really nice to see that Yuliya was one of the people that's been in conversation for a while since Roma came out because it's such an incredible performance. So of course, I was super thrilled. And she she released a little video about the moment. She found out that she was nominated. And it's it's just so full of joy. I encourage everyone to go. See it. It's her first your first film. Yeah. It's a first film. Yes. She was working her way to becoming a teacher when she was cast. It's also not the kind of performance that always gets nominated things we talk all the time about best actor being most acting. Yes. And this is not a most acting kind of performance. He's doing a lot of quiet reaction. And it's it's not showy. But it's so good. Yeah. An addition to one of the great things that came out with all of these nominations was Gabriella Rodriguez who's one of the. Users of Roma now, she's in she's part of the team that's up for best picture..

"As well as Alex fringe just simply having an abysmal start to the season or else he would compete for a top four spot as well, but they did perform some, and I think that balances out their general inability to win races and the confusion that cover the entire season. So when you take the awfulness and the high of the win put them together, you get to see. So that's what I'm giving him in as you'll see in a second. We get to the riders. I wasn't nearly as harsh on the riders as I was on Yamaha's a whole. That's why the some of those parts don't quite add up to as much as you'd think they would. And that's why the right in the middle. But we're Yamaha's great didn't really add up to what you might have thought. Based on the numbers. The opposite was true for the factory Suzuki squad. Yeah. Andrea known a was a complete wildcard every time out. I mean, he had some solid braces early on then that inflated Zego and his consistency. Went out the window. And then his frustration that being banished to apprecia- showed up in like he was terrible at the end of the year. But as you know, only stumbled through his season up in having ups and downs. Alex Rennes right about the middle of the year took off like a rocket. And by the end of the year. He forced all of us to consider. That's Zouqi had indeed build a bike. That was very. Very very close to being able to compete for motor JP victories. And it wasn't just rinse either. I mean, yeah, you donate was all over the map. But when he had good races. They were very very good racist. So even those kind of reinforced that Alex Rennes late-season success wasn't purely a fluke, and it was an incredible effort. I think on the part of Suzuki to bounce back from earlier in the season. But from two thousand seventeen I mean, it was a debacle in two thousand seventeen the team messed up the riders messed up. Nothing went right. And then now at the end of two thousand eighteen they had a rider who was fifth in the championship and would have been higher had they gotten everything squared away and eat avoid mistakes earlier in the year. So I think Suzuki did a phenomenal job and because of that easy one to give them an A fifth in the championship was primarily Coty. And you'll primary was weird this season Danilo pitching, Jack Miller combined for a grand total of one podium and seven top five finishes. But. Between two good riders one of which was on a current year. Do khadi and all of their top five finishes were in and done by the red bull boring nothing after that. But despite those scant numbers, they were still the highest finishing satellite team in the paddock. And I don't think many people would necessarily cues them of being slow. It's just that. It was hard to explain, you know, I'm tempted to give them a b overall because they did finish fifth in the standings and higher than any other satellites he Mets impressive. But at the same time, I don't think they were able to net the results that they should add. And most importantly, the GP nineteen got markedly better in the hands of Lorenzo and Dovy as the season went on and had Lorenzo knockout in hurt. I think that would have continued for him as well. But while the factory riders were getting better, pray MAC wasn't able to replicate that wave of results within Ella Pacheco and because of that and because they had a good year in the standings..

"Mrazova when each one of those sponsors was featured it was pretty much all about them alone. And they came up with four really cool paint schemes for that bike now because Cal had a good year and everybody wants to be associated with Cal. Now, they all want to be on the bike at the same time. So the colors and names all add up to a little bit of a rolling billboard. I mean, he's still have the may. Main sponsor each time on the fairing, but they're real estate has gotten smaller and everything else has kind of gotten bigger for everybody who's not the primary sponsor of that particular race. So as opposed to a collection of awesome standalone schemes now, it's just kind of one thing that's been glommed up with a whole bunch of stickers. So which one of those was the most boring vinca L our Honda. Maybe a probably it probably was really bad. I don't know. They're all definitely deserving of being on the list. But the one I have to give the nod to is three odd. Why not because it's necessarily worse. I mean apprecia- actually is a crazier paint scheme. But because tech three had a really good looking bike that they had no choice, but to ruin by putting big red and yellow boxes all over it. Like, it's a motorbike that has fifteen sponsors, and they could have put those names on in black or green they could could've. But obviously those people wanted to have their names pops. So they can get their money's worth. And because of that it ended up taking a really good paint scheme and making it a really really weird paint scheme. So they win the trophy for the most boring livery of two thousand eighteen art. So we're in the homestretch. Now, we get to some of my favorite awards of the year starting with the Ryder you'd want on your side if you got into a bar fight. Yes. That is an actual award that we're going to give an actual imaginary trophy. Out for your sitting in the bar your mind your own business. Somebody starts flack who do you want as your wing man in that battle? So start the nominees with Cal crutch low now seriously, I was beginning to think that Cal was indestructible..

"He scored a respectable forty six points in the first time rounds of the motivation this year and then in the second nine rounds. His take was three points three points over the entire second half of the season. This is the stage of the year when he should have been getting better and upping his performance level. Because now he feels more comfortable in the bike instead for the NS. He couldn't get anything going, and he got three points the rest of the way, he certainly didn't put himself on the fast track to get back to the premier class on. Now, our third nominee in this category is of your Semion to eventually to Qadi, and I'm not going to dwell too much on Semion because we all know that the team was expecting sponsorship from him not performance. But he. Scored one point one point all season long. Now, that's one better than Thomas Luthier. I'll give you that. But still I mean, if you're vinca you have to get to the stage where you measure how much that sponsorship is worth based on what you're getting back from that person on the track. But while Vince, you got what they paid for hopefully apprecia- kept their receipt for our next nominee and Scott reading because they need to ask for a bit of a refund after the debacle with lows the idea behind bringing Scott reading on board was that they wanted a veteran presence someone who had the experience to roll with the bumps in the mistakes and helped the team developed the bike and reading made a point of telling all the skeptics out there that that's exactly what he intended to do. Then he failed to muster up any more than twenty points. One third one third of his previous lowest total in the premier class. And once he found that he'd be replaced by Andrea. He pretty much gave up only finishing in the points. Twice. The entire second half of the season, bud on the upside. At least he got his helmet down on the tarmac in turn. So there's that Instagram seemed to be a big fan of that. And then our final nominees Hector Barbara to the Pons Moto two team. You know, like Lowe's Barbara went to Moto to to prove that he still had what it takes. Then he ended up getting a DUI and booted from the team six races in. So it didn't really work at all. And then our final nominee remodel phonology to the marinara Marinelli snipers motive to team you can point to the whole brake lever thing and say that is why fanatic deserves to be on this list. And you'd be right. I wouldn't argue with you at all. But the Marinelli team signed him like everyone else does on raw potential because of the upside that everybody still feels lies inside of Vermont of phonology, and he showed. Absolutely, none of that before his infamous, same Marino outbursts. He had one one good finish. All year long. It was a seventh and Lama never got anywhere near the podium and racist where he didn't wreck out. He also wrecked. Five times in a seven race span from harass to Bruno. So even if he hadn't done the whole Stafani Manzi thing he still deserves to be on that list because he didn't do anything on the bike his performance before he got to that incident was every bit as disappointing as Reading's or leuthi or Sam Lowes for that matter. So which of those moves was the worst. I mean, all of those routers failed to live up to expectations. But most of the guys only hurt themselves by doing so, right? There was only one writer that was asked to bring his veteran experience and presence with him.

But just like we did with Balenciaga we're going to dig a little bit deeper into the numbers and try and figure out who just had a good lap time in who had a really good test that are up the first half of the show, but coming out of her as one of the major questions because of the disparity between maverick Manila's performance in this test and Valentina Rossi's. Would that has stirred up the debate? Again, is Valentino Rossi running the show. Should he be running the show? If you actually isn't has there been some sort of dynamic shift. That's happened over the first two tests of the off season over at Yamaha where they are now leaning toward maverick vinyl as they're finally listening to him in that is why we're seeing a discrepancy between what he's doing on track and Valentina Rossi's doing on track. It's all of amazing this smashed up into one day that is not following any rules of the space time continuum and with me as always is co host, Mr. Jerod Brown Jared. How are you doing today? I'm doing good a day earlier than normal but excited to get at it earlier than normal. Thanks to the Thursday night game in in a little bit of an extended break for the forty Niners to at a good time. That's exactly right. So before we get into the final battle of the ban the game recap. I'm super interested to hear about how you're going to vote on I think prop seven because that's the daylight savings time one, right? I believe that is in. I you know, I've thought about it a little bit because Aaron is one of the places that doesn't do it. There are some drawbacks in both cases, particularly as a teacher. It's kind of nice right now when I go to school in the mornings that it's light out whereas just two weeks ago. I was getting to school rolling around six thirty or so kinda prepping and do an early bird stuff and his dark out and just sort of sets a sort of ominous tone. So I actually kinda dig setting falling back a little bit. So that I get the little bit of daylight in the morning. But I also understand wanting to keep it lighter a little later. It outta here with this politician answer. This non answer answer. It. You can't say both are. Okay. I I'm pinning it down in honor of voting day highly diplomatic. I think I I'd vote to keep it. Oh, man. Yeah. To get rid of it. Get rid of I'm I'm voting from afar with spirit only for California stuff because I'm over here voting in Texas elections, but it wasn't deed the battle of the bay. I have got a Turpin dream APA in American pale ready to go because that game was indeed a dream. I mean, we said at the beginning or in our preview we said the best quarterback is going to win. We just had no idea that best quarterback was going to be McMullan's yet. I did not see that. Come. I mean, I don't know that anybody saw it coming maybe perhaps accept Kyle Shanahan or assumed that he could make it happened on the less, but Nick Molins played. Not not lights out. But better than what the raiders could get their quarterback to play a whether that's coaching whether that's scheme. Whether that's other players around him either way. Nick woolens was the best quarterback on the field. And as a result. Like we thought the forty Niners came out on top pretty impressive while the forty Niners. Do indeed win the final battle of the bay the forty Niners one maybe their most complete game of the Cal Shanahan era. Their highest offensive output of two thousand eighteen thirty four points tied for their third highest offensive output overall in the collar Shanahan era. Of course, the Jaguars forty four points was tops Rams with could O'Brien Hoyer thirty nine points. And then the Rams again and that meaningless week seventeen game thirty four points the forty Niners defense had eight sacks. They are now tied Jared get this. They're not tied for seventh in the NFL. With twenty four sacks on the back of that aid sack performance and they had to turnovers in the game that plus two turnover margin incident. Really tied for the second highest total and the highest attorney over margin in the Shanahan era. Actually, that's surprising. Just because I don't generate a turnovers but overall in terms of a complete game. This was as big and as complete of a game as the forty Niners have ever put together in the Cal Shanahan era.
