Johnny and a whole host of other MO- pars. Johnny has also had a really awesome dude. You're roadrunners bad, ass. Tell us about your road. I remember seeing the pictures of it for the first time and I'm like. Hey, you have too many cool cars that I want. So. Tell us about that. Awesome roadrunner. This is the ratty one right the blue. Absolutely that okay. Man That card if I could find that exact car right now, I'd be a very happy man but. Tell us tell us the whole story about the road. All right. So Up in the high desert, which is I think it's like Apple Valley area out here. Not You know not that you would know where this is but anyway, it's it's it's a little bit of a stretch to get there from where I lived but I think it was in the recycler craigslist or something? I'm not even sure craigslist was around back then but I found this seventy roadrunner right And it was pretty sketchy description and stuff and I call the guy and he's like ads. Pretty. Roach Dow. But it does run. It's a three car I'm like all right has tiktok tack in it unlike. Allen go check this thing out so I was just dating my wife back. Then you know so I I I cook stir into going for a drive. You know a road trip up to go check out this car. And get there and it's like this. Lavender primer color in somebody rattled canned stripe on the hood. Had the Bulge Hood. And but Iran. And I was like, Oh, by had, we'll flares in the back which I didn't And I think I think I paid. I want to say was like Fifteen hundred bucks to two thousand dollars somewhere in there. Drug at home. And then I didn't like the color. So I black primaried the whole thing and then I drove it around a little bit but I didn't have it long and then I was starting to chip out the crap and you know the flares and the wheel wells the hated it, and then it's like, oh. God. Why did I opened this up just nasty like they just they just got in there with like sheet metal cutters and just like peeled the medal up and then just mud it you know. Was Nasty and then the right rear corner that car. It had been hit and then so somebody cut a clip off of another car I'm thinking a four door. And like grafted it into the car, they did a terrible job of doing it. So I I was just like this way too much for me. I'm I'm not gonNA take on the project like this so I think it was probably the recycler. Anyway this guy from same area Apple Valley calls me up. He's a tow truck driver and he's like a he was yeah a I I know that car seen that car up here stopped trying to buy that car that guy wouldn't sell it for years and years, and he's like, how did you get a hold of it and I'm like it was in the recycler He's I can't believe I. missed it. You know. So anyways, he goes. Well, he didn't have eating the money, but he's like, would you be interested in a trade and I'm like I don't know like what do you got? You know he's listing off the one hundreds and you know some bodies like Darts and Whatever Who wants a dart when he can get chargers all the time for not? Exactly. Exactly. So unlike No not interested. He goes well, I got a I got a sixty nine road runner and I go. He goes with doesn't have drive train in it, but you know it's five blue and. I go. Sounds interesting. I'd be interested in that and he goes I. Go dude this car is rough. The seventy is rough 'cause. I've really like seventy seventies on my favorite. Described everything wrong with the car. I think it had three fifty five's in it but anyway, he's like well, can you come up and can I check out the car because I was really Skeptical that he would be interested in trading for it. Right so I, I, drive a met him. I went like three quarters of the way up there, and then he met me because he was working he was actually he showed up in a tow truck. We met like right off the freeway. You know he's checking out the car and he's like I want I'm interested and I'm like all right cool and he goes well. Come back up on the weekend and all I had was like a really sketchy picture. Of the Blue Road runner, the sixty nine.

Inside a Minnesota high school where climate change is the focus

"Support for climate cast comes from Bank of America as one of the largest global financial institutions Bank of America is in a unique position to help society. Transition to a low-carbon economy Bank of America NA member FDIC. You know about the school of rock, but have you heard about the school of environmental studies? I'm NPR chief meteorologist, Paul Hattner. This is climate cats. A public high school that immerses students in environmental topics they work alongside professionals in the field. Are these are next environmental scientists NPR climate cast digital producer, Cody Nelson takes us to a public environmental magnet high school in apple valley. When he first arrived at the school of environmental studies. It's clear this isn't an average high school. There's no football field. But there is a pond just outside the main office stores where students learn to paddle and studied the nutrients and the water, and when I visited last week they were having a population conference where students played the part of scientists some of the topics are based on population demographics, and also how some of those population demographics do affect our climate the climate affects some of our populations and movement and Gration, and that's Billy Kaynak an environmental science teacher. He set up the. I think a big thing that we're trying to lower students to do is to learn how to give a presentation how to be a professional in that setting and being able to do a lot of the research on your own cell. They get some topics, and then they try to delve into it. And they really follow their own interests that way to Carly's Alinsky a senior at the school is focusing on jobs. Humanities today because of this. There has been strong for review green jobs interested me because it it'll play a part in like my few journal out of my peers futures. So there's opportunities for us there Carly Andrew peers realize they're getting a unique high school experience, and they want it that way students have to apply to attend. The school's curriculum is hyper focused on learning about climate change, and how to mitigate and adapt to it and other high schools the only time it's really touched on maybe in classes like science or biology, and even then it's not going up here. We kind of learn about everything that goes into everything that affects everything that climate change of facts ways to combat it. So it definitely gives us a unique point of view here connects us more with the issue and makes us want to care about it more. Well, last week's population conference was just for class. A group of the school students got a real taste of professional science conference. When they traveled to Poland last month for cop twenty four the United Nations climate change conference senior Abigail hockey was one of them she enjoys working on and learning about climate change issues, but it can be stressful. She's well aware of scientists warnings that urgent climate action is necessary by the year twenty thirty. If we can't do anything after twelve years, that's not that far in our life. What about the rest of our life? So we definitely have feel that urgency that we need to do something now because otherwise our lives could be fundamentally changed as how he loves them. Now, though, definitely changed with the changes come climate change. But they'll change a lot less than if we don't do anything. So. Yeah, I definitely thank you is in general. We feel this pressure that we need to act now in apple valley. I'm Cody Nelson NPR news. That's climate cast. I'm NPR chief meteorologist, Paul hunter.

"Time for classes in apple valley. Woodbury in Bloomington. L what what else do you have for us on the retirement discussion? Well, here's another thing when you take money out of your 4._0._1._K's or your four three Bs. Remember, you're going to be paying taxes on that money is tax deferred. Well, it's in there. But as soon as you access that you're gonna be paying taxes the one of the goals in retirement should be to reduce your taxes as much as possible. So maybe there's a way for you to put money into your 4._0._1._K. There's what we call a power ranking of money. The best money is free money. If you have a match in your 4._0._1._K, that's free money you need to take advantage of that. You know, the the second best is tax free money. Followed by tax deferred money followed by taxable money. What if you could have your retirement set up where out of your 4._0._1._K, you just put into it? First of all the amount of money that gives you the match the full match and then additional. Money that you might have put in there. What if you could put that into a tax free kind of investment? So you're taking less money out of a 4._0._1._K. That's taxed some of that. Instead would go into this tax free investment. Those are the kinds of things we can talk to you about we have what we call dynamic 4._0._1._K management. We're we'll help you dentist by the best way to utilize your 4._0._1._K, reduce the fees. Get into the best investments that are going to perform best at a particular time in the market and maybe help to reduce the taxes all of this requires an education. And and that's what we do. We give you the education, at least free classes that we have. This is the first step to take. If if you want to do something totally happy with what you have if you're making so much money. You can.

We are in the midst of getting another day closer to the election. I'm really curious at what point do we find out in the early voting? How Minnesota's gonna do do? They do a weekly update or how does that work? Yeah. They usually will send out a press release about how many voters have voted. So I would expect some maybe Thursday or Friday to see how many people, but it's a county by county situation. So the county's after report their numbers the secretary of state, and then the secretary of state would do that. Of course, everybody's watching it because early voting in those primaries was so high that people expect the general election to be very high as well. How come Representative knob block withdrew from the race? This came out on Friday, he withdrew because of allegations from his daughter that he acted inappropriately over many years. This is an allegation that was floated in social media by her last year. People had shopped it to the morning take, and it was too personal. And not something we would follow up on Nina, Tony who used to be with channel four, but went over to NPR kind of followed the story the whole way and ultimately got the story. They were getting ready to report on the story over at NPR, and now black resigned right before they were going to publish the story.
