"Day I'm fighting the sensors, right? Every single day right now, I'm banned from YouTube for one week because I said that trans people are suffering under a mental delusion. You're not allowed to say that. Even though you look up the definition of delusion, it's somebody who is believing something that has no rooting in reality. And so then I asked Google, which is like talking to a wall, right? You might as well talk to chat GPT, right? With effectively what you're doing. And they say, it's hate speech to say that trans people have a mental delusion. So I'm banned right now from YouTube for a week. So let me actually give you an optimistic take on this. There's a ton of tech censorship. We're actually in a much better place than we were a year ago when it comes to speech online. We're still in a crummy place, but two big develops developments have happened. Rumble has gone now to the place of viability, which is a great thing praise God. If you do not know what rumble is, it's a YouTube competitor. It's publicly traded. They have a $3 billion market cap now. They have users that are now nipping at YouTube's heels. They have Russell Brand. They have some of the biggest names that legit mainstream really good names. Dana White is doing a show on there. It's rumble dot com. Kelly, last time we sat down, there was no competitor for YouTube. And that's a real thing. Rumble is going to be around. It's a real place to speak. You guys should all download the app. Dot com and they're getting their act together. The second thing is Elon Musk buying Twitter is a major development. And that's a good thing. It's a great thing. I mean, I was blacklisted from Twitter and the Twitter file showed that. But I was blacklisted largely because of my government. And this is where we're looking at some very serious lawsuits. I don't want to spend too much time on this, but I'm kind of patient zero for some of this, because we had a very successful Twitter. We were very viral. And then I lost access to my Twitter account, which like boohoo who cares. But I actually lost access to my Twitter account during a very critical period of time, which was during early voting in 2020, right? So I lost access to my Twitter between October 14th and October 24th because I tweeted about the hundred Biden laptop story,

Three thousand seven hundred dollars for a wedding band twelve hundred dollars for a reception. Dj seventy dollars per person for catering and the average wedding in two thousand nineteen had one hundred and thirty one guests. I guess it's an odd number because of all the singles who want to go home or at least go to bed with a new plus one and that brings the total cost of food to nine thousand one hundred and seventy dollars. The rehearsal dinner costs on average eighteen. Hundred dollars five hundred ninety dollars for the invitations. One hundred dollars for the hairstylist hundred bucks for the makeup artist. Four hundred bucks for the party favors and last but certainly not least five hundred dollars for the cake that is a total of thirty five thousand nine hundred and seventy dollars to put that into perspective that the lot more than the down payment on one hundred and seventy five thousand dollar house or tuition for a year and a half at florida state university. He did most of the groundwork you know. I'm a firm believer i Iron iron my payday on the football field. I let my agent do his do his work from there so he negotiated a deal. I had a number in my head that i wanted to hit in heels able to To hit it and You know now now you know. Get to play home in my own self. I mean and then you get paid in just doing that which is priceless. It sounds like so. When did you start getting into investing. Was it with real estate. Investing at first. Yeah i actually so. That was really inspiring. Because i'm like if he was able to build that off of a teacher police officer salary if i only played one year in the nfl but never shit right. I can put myself in position to give myself a really good head start so that was my mindset. In after my first year. I went to a couple of real estate. Need up scenario zona with a with a partner. Might we used to go to usc with me. And we bought our first property in indianapolis. And i never looked back after that. So what does that mean. how many properties. So i know own fifteen properties of my own. But i'm also in forty other syndications on nutshell familiar with that but I'm a limited partner in a few of them. I'm general partner in in big syndications. All across the country from apartment complexes single family homes to senior living to warehouses. I kind of try to reach reaching in touch. All the all the bases in different in different fields and different industries and you know invest in collect collected What i call mill box money every month and just push up that you know what my passive income is in my mailbox money every month. They will get super excited about 401k's because sometimes the employer can make a matching contribution to your account which is like getting free money and any money. You contribute goes in before taxes. However don't think this money is tax free because you do have to pay tax when you take the money out if you take it out before your fifty nine and a half yes. That's really the number of the. Irs up with you have to pay penalty fees. 401k's do tend to be the most popular retirement plan. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best one for you. Remember trusting your employer with your money is trusting your employer with your money. Why not trust yourself instead. Most people don't even realize that 401k's aren't actually meant to be retirement accounts for your entire retirement. They're technically profit sharing accounts because they allow you to have one hundred percent of your money in your company's stock which you should never do hello worldcom tyco and ron lehman brothers folks. Maybe it's just me but the basic idea of having your retirement and your job. So closely linked seems wrong after all familiarity might breed contempt in family but it breeds blindness in business. Let me repeat 401k's aren't and were never intended to replace your entire income when you retire. It's just how we started using them once traditional pensions which are meant to replace your income when you retire started becoming less common. Pensions would guarantee you. Money when you're tired and that put the burden on your employer to make sure the money was there when you need it. Nowadays 401k's are cheaper for employers to run because they put the burden unu- a 401k. Is right for you if number one your employer matches your contributions number two. You need something easy or you won't save at all no shame. If that's you just be honest number three. You wanna go crazy with your contributions. The limits were 401k's in twenty. Twenty one is nineteen thousand five hundred dollars for your personal contributions and that's a lot higher than an ira which we will get to injustice number four. You may need to borrow from yourself now. You can take up to fifty grand or fifty percent of your balance. Whichever is less if you need it for an emergency without penalty as long as you can pay it back within five years. Quick side note here. Try your hardest not to exercise this option especially if you have a precarious work situation because if you lose your job you have to pay what you borrowed back within sixty days or it will be considered a default and really hurt your credit score big time the just know that the loan option is there if you absolutely have no other choice well that's that 401k is not right for you if number one don't have six to nine months of emergency reserves in the bank yes you need to save for retirement but you need liquidity i. He can't pay for stuff at the grocery store with a 401k number to your employer doesn't match your contributions many do but not all do so definitely check. Many companies actually suspended 401k matching as a cost saving measure during the pandemic number three. You have a significant amount of credit card debt paying down debt is a form of long-term savings. Because if you don't pay it down now you'll pay more and save less later. Avoid the potential avalanche of debt specially credit card debt and tackle. The mountain of interest accumulating bills. I number four. You want freedom of choice on fees and investment options since this is your employers show. They picked the plan and they picked the fees. You got a few options. But that's basically it even if the fees seem pretty small at the time they definitely add up and you may be able to do better if you feel adventurous and studious enough to tackle it on your own. "401k as a retirement account established by employers for employees. That's tied to the stock market if you're out of company that offers a 401k. You can make contributions before the money hits your paycheck and then your contribution is invested in an account with your name on it. They will get super excited about 401k's because sometimes the employer can make a matching contribution to your account which is like getting free money and any money. You contribute goes in before taxes. However don't think this money is tax free because you do have to pay tax when you take the money out if you take it out before your fifty nine and a half yes. That's really the number of the. Irs up with you have to pay penalty fees. 401k's do tend to be the most popular retirement plan. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best one for you. Remember trusting your employer with your money is trusting your employer with your money. Why not trust yourself instead. Most people don't even realize that 401k's aren't actually meant to be retirement accounts for your entire retirement. They're technically profit sharing accounts because they allow you to have one hundred percent of your money in your company's stock which you should never do hello worldcom tyco and ron lehman brothers folks. Maybe it's just me but the basic idea of having your retirement and your job. So closely linked seems wrong after all familiarity might breed contempt in family but it breeds blindness in business. "To happen the next six to eight months or so. I would say you need to sell experiences. And maybe just fail unless you learn how to weave in the experiential and that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a book experience. That just has its own flavor. Obviously you're always going to get that that walk in but really connecting with people means that experiential is super important. And i would say even if it doesn't seem obvious even if you're selling an odd widget or you know you are doing accounting services. Think about that because humans are tuned to the theater of experience. And you can weave it into almost everything if you sit and meditate on that for a minute he can probably find a few examples in your life was like that was a singular experience and i did not expect that will make you famous in your customers eyes. And then the third thing is recognized the power of curated happy memories for business growth. This is an innate desire of humans. I may not remember the exact details of the vacation. I took with my family to cannon beach oregon last summer. But i do remember when the tide was really low. We got to walk out behind haystack. Rock the memories are going to change a little bit. But what i'm left with is an overall sense of kind of wellbeing nostalgia and it actively dispels zaidi now that was my vacation in cannon beach which is beautiful place and i encourage you to visit if you never have but businesses actually can curate those memories. And when you do that there's a powerful association with your brand and you become a retailer of choice so to disregard the experiential to only kind of take hand wavy approach at it is not wise it is wise to think about who your customers are as humans what they naturally want and we talk with big brands and we support. I believe to be the reality you know and i always look at my book of business every week and i try to think of some creative strategies of you know there's only so much marketing that i can do you know from acquisition and conversion and retention and brand strategy and business operations these technical solutions. I have a lot of. Cg companies in supplements in sports nutrition companies and Couple snack companies like subscription. It's so interesting. So i think there's opportunity especially in larger markets Where people can meet together. And i think that's one of the opportunities that to think about as in my role with my book of business is saying. Hey is there an opportunity here for an experiential type marketing around the brand more than just traditional marketing. Is i think that's a big differentiator than not. A lot of people are thinking about today and if they were there leading in their vertical. I think that's pretty exciting. So we are nearing the end of the show for today. But i would love to find out more about i. Guess the future for the product. I mean like as a sast company obviously have an mvp it launched in. I see there's a public road map and things keep iterating based on. I guess feedback feedback loops from your own customers. So just curious about your north star. I guess for the remainder of twenty one and in the future like liquid. Like is there any alignment for new partnerships and innovation. So the supplies are ready for me. That's another thing that we're doing from ten thousand foot view. What we're looking at right now is making our api public. We are looking to do some interesting. Full-on custom build outs with larger retailers. Who are interested in really blowing the doors off to customize ability and we are going to be working on handpicking a few partnerships beyond the one. We already have the two we have. Obviously we shocked by end. Another one with zoom. So we've got our eye on a few different platform till's overall our place. We play is not big venue ticketing. We're not a one to one appointment booking salon tool. We are really about that brick and mortar merchant. Who is they have product. They have a service but they also recognize the value of experiential commerce. I selling and so are features. That are in the pipeline. Reflect that exciting. This is a very unique recording today. Because like i said. I typically dig pretty deep into particular tactic or two. But when you use the words like experiential. I've written a ton of notes here but experiential commerce enablement. I think is a really good theme. You really are here to differentiate and create for the local merchant an opportunity to resonate with your target audience current customers or not but then having the technology to create these memorable experiences which will have this residual effect of potential sales now and or into the future. So you know, I had worked in retail over a decade ago some of high school and college, and I found out a lot of, you know, retail employees, and these hourly workers were still relying on the same tools. I was back then which was primarily text messaging. Maybe they would have, you know, an ad hoc Facebook group to kind of coronate some of these shifts, and when we looked at kind of the technology available for them today. It was traditional enterprise scheduling software, right? Nothing was built specifically for the needs of the hourly worker, and so the premise was linked. Let's build something that the hourly worker would love to us on a day-to-day basis, and let's build it kind of a modern mobile platform, very similar to something. They would use in their personal lives, but for the workplace, and how do you make money? Yeah. So we make money by working with the companies that employ these workers. And so we're able to charge them. Them for things like administrative control and roll base access as well as integrations into their back end infrastructure and systems. And so yeah, you know, as a result of that it serves kind of on the company side the benefits that they are really seeing from using technology branch is that it's reducing their turnover. Which is still a big problem in all all these industries about one hundred percent. And the other thing it is reducing sort of this excess labor cost rate that they incur with overtime. They get people to stay late. Absenteeism goes down and then finally a big savings in management time. So a manager no longer is kind of coordinating spending their week coordinating, these scheduling changes, and they can focus more and repurpose that time on the needs of the customer, right? This is marketplace tech demystifying the digital economy. I'm Amy Choi in for Molly would. Justin Miller served eleven years in the US army and deployed twice to Iraq. I was medically retired out of Fort Stewart with three seven infantry he suffered from severe PTSD. So when I got out I felt like I failed. I felt it goes broken. I felt like I had nobody to reach out to nobody to talk to Miller almost became one of the twenty military veterans and active service members who die by suicide every day. He was saved in part by serendipitous phone, call from his friend, Christopher KADO, a fellow vet who helped talk him back. Now, Justin Chris have collaborated with a team to Billy app objective zero using social networking technology to make those kinds of vital connections between veteran's immediate and easily accessible when most veterans decided to commit suicide. They do it in the first five minutes. So we said we'll heck we don't have five minutes. We don't have time for a veteran to look up a place. Try to call them be put on hold or sent voicemail. We need something. That's instant an anonymous the app is designed so you can sign up as a user someone seeking help or an ambassador, a train volunteer who is there as support and be connected immediately via text or phone. We also made it. So you could be either. Or so one day. I'm having a bad day. I can go on as a user another day. I'm feeling good. I'm on top of the world. I am willing to listen. I can switch over and become an ambassador and the ambassadors. You gotta go through training process to show that you understand the signs of somebody suicidal and ways to help talk to him users have sent over sixteen thousand text messages and made more than three hundred and fifty hours of phone calls objective zero is also developing an algorithm that allows a veteran to opt into a support network, so friends and family can be alerted. If a user is showing signs of struggling such as dramatically changed, sleep patterns or unusual internet searches. Meanwhile, the Veterans Administration, which is the largest healthcare. Later in the US is also using apps to help veterans struggling with PTSD and finding that supporting veterans loved ones can have a significant impact as people cope with the return to civilian life after military service. I spoke to Jason Owen clinical psychologist with the VA about the work. He is doing the mobile behavior design lab to develop mental health apps for vets. So we heard very early on that one of the biggest shortcomings for veterans was that their family members are often not actively included in their care despite the family met her being the person it's really there and available to deliver twenty four seven support in wants to be involved. So we've done surveys of over two hundred and forty family members to get feedback on that original apt to ask what their needs were. And earlier this year, we released our second version of the PTSD family coach out it provides tools that are explicitly for family members. That was Jason. Owen clinical psychologist with the VA.
