"Today is Wednesday March Eleventh Twenty Twenty and this is your host Steven Novella joining me this week or Bob Novella. Everybody Cara Santa Maria. Addy Jane Avella. Hey guys and Evan Bernstein. Good evening folks. So it's official the World Health Organization who has declared a worldwide pandemic. Welcome APPS. Well yeah we were. Just I mean we were at this point. We were there just still. It's a milestone only. It is at some point like it's like a certificate you would put on your kids wall. I survived the pandemic t shirt when he wanted story. It's only the third time right. You got the Spanish flu in the late. Nineteen we have the wealth twenty eleven and this burglar twenty eleven. No it was a big enough current pandemics HIV AIDS in Corona virus recent pandemics include nineteen eighteen influenza and the two thousand nine flu pandemic. You're right Steve H. One and one bird flu right or is that swine flu swine flu swine flu and then HIV AIDS. Though it is a global pandemic. It's been categorized. Okay all right we're will make sense. It makes sense so thousand case three thousand cases in the US. Italy is you know they're in the middle. I think of their epidemic China's on the other side of their heirs right. We're just gearing up so now we're in. The phase of social distancing is kind of the word of the day for the US so you know events are being canceled left and right no non essential travel. People are starting to talk about taking their kids out of schools now ours our high school. They're basically gearing up there sending emails out saying that you may have to shut down. We haven't decided yet. But this is what we're GonNa do if we do. And there's sort of laying out the plan threes and it seems inevitable. A lot of colleges are saying we're doing all online classes for the rest of the semester. I'm lucky that I go to school. That's mostly online anyway so I feel like my professors are really prepared. They know what to do. They've been really up to date with everything getting the emails out about plans for in person meetings but I feel bad for a lot of the professors who have never taught online before because it's a totally different skill set and you have to know what to do. Yeah and they're just going to be thrown into it and also the students who have never done online classes like it requires a different amount of self efficacy. I don't know what are we gonNA have older professors taking pieces of chalk and trying to write on so it looks like as of today today the eleventh. Yes yeah one hundred. Eighteen thousand three hundred twenty six confirmed cases globally and four thousand two hundred ninety two deaths. That's that's alive sewer. We'll be talking about a couple of corona virus related news items a bit later in the show. But yeah this is. You know we've been talking about it. You know obviously for months giving the updates and now we were just hitting. I think we could see the peak coming now. You know in. Us As least and a Lotta experts are saying now. Basically everyone's GonNa get exposed. You know it's really just a matter of. How quickly is it going to happen? The key is we want to slow it down as much as possible so it doesn't overwhelm our resources so it's not that we're GONNA keep it. We're not going to keep it from spreading. We're just going to slow the spread because that's a huge difference there were some jackass on. Tv saying just to expose everybody now with opposite. WanNa do we because then the mortality spikes when you run out of things like then a laters beds. It's not going to be literally everybody. It's going to spread through the population. But that doesn't mean everybody's going to be exposed right. I think that everyone is not going to necessarily contract it. The infectivity is not one hundred percent now. But unless you're like seriously isolated you're probably going to get exposed there whole countries where there's only like three cases. Yeah it'll get there eventually. That's the point that's what they're saying it's GONNA it's the human population has no immunity right. So it's a naive population. And it's going to make the rounds. It's going to eventually. Just make the rounds all over the world and then it'll slow down mainly because people will have either most people have already been infected. They won't be enough new. You know naive hosts to keep it going and do we know that you can't be reinfected. Well you'll have. Some level of immunity may not necessarily be one hundred percent of your no longer naive host. You have an immune system that seen seen this virus before the other thing is we want to slow it down and maybe an Iraq seen in twelve to eighteen months we have a vaccine and maybe we further slow it down and also. Maybe it'll be a seasonal situation and it actually will naturally slow down over the summer and give people some relief up until the new season starts if it operates seasonally. Yeah so any of the other thing that everyone is saying which is correct is don't panic but use your commonsense. You know just to avoid unnecessary contact with lots of evil face mask in the. Yeah yeah at least. Some Clark's wipes for the rest of us. Please honks toilet paper yeah please? The Toilet Paper Discusses Shelves Empty. And also don't be getting into fistfights over toilet paper at Costco. It's embarrassing yeah. We don't need a Thanksgiving Black Friday incident. Oh they're all over the world embarrassing. Okay Kerry you're going to give us a what's the word? Yes Oh. This word was sentenced by Linda from Petaluma California. She said I teach chemistry in high school and this term came up recently. So I figured I'd share with you and the whole crew. It's one I've always loved for the simple fact that I find it fun to say out loud. Always a good one to bring up in casual conversation and the word that she recommended is. Moity and Moya and many many of you have asked that we spell the words each week and this is an especially. I think. Necessary one dispel M. E. T. Y. Yeah it's a good one right and so I'm going to start a little bit with the etymology. Because then I think it makes more sense. When you look at all the different usages. Because it's true I had only ever heard of this word in a chemistry context but it apparently also has a sociology context as starting Brooklyn. No it's okay kind of were all French and it also has a property definition so the etymology of the word. Yeah it's from the Latin originally but the first time that has started to look like is old French around the fifteenth century in that usage it meant an equal half a half part or a share which is basically still its definition is just become a little bit more specific over time so if you look in like a dictionary definition you're gonNa find that it means let's see Miriam Webster. Which is kind of the American standard will say one of two equal parts. A half or one or two approximately equal parts or one of the portions into which something is divided or one of two basic complimentary tribal subdivisions and if you look at Cambridge Cambridge Dictionary. You'll see something similar. Apar- share something especially when it's divided into two parts but there they've added the chemistry definition but they just wrote a part of a molecule which is honestly not very specific. So if you really start to dig deep into the term you'll see that again. There are basically three main utilizations. There's the chemistry. Utilization Utilization Kinship and then a Moi early title which is a legal term that describes a portion of title ownership. So if it's like a divided tidal which is kind of interesting make sense in kinship. You'll see it. Referring oftentimes to tribal groups usually native American or specifically Iroquois or Australian aboriginal kinship groups. And also. I think there's a native Hawaiian kinship group and with that respect. Moi Eighty is like when there's a group that descends from a larger group and only hangs out with one other group

The tournament has been plagued by scandal and on the afternoon of August. Twenty Ninth Nineteen Ninety. Special this month. We're counting down the top thirty one sports scandals from nineteen ninety. Two Thousand Twenty. I'm Carter Roy and I'm Tim Johnson in today's episode. We're going back to nineteen ninety two and the Little League World Series Scandal. Zamboanga city located on a small remote island in the Philippines is most famous for its canned sardine industry but in nineteen ninety two. It was the city's Little League Baseball team that caught the world's attention the team from Zamboanga breezed through the World Series Tournament. Demolishing everyone in its path until trouncing a squad from Long Beach California in the championship. Game fifteen to four from a gold medal in boxing thirty years before the boys victory represented the most significant athletic achievement. In the country's history they returned to the Philippines as heroes where President Fidel Ramos through them. A parade in the capital city and awarded them over forty dollars in scholarship money. Nearly everyone in the country celebrated the team's victory everyone except journalist Al Mendoza as a journalist. Mendoza's job was to tell the truth. Which wasn't always easy in a country like the Philippines twenty years before dictator Ferdinand Marcos had banned anything beyond state-sanctioned news and only recently after a regime change had independent news outlets resumed operation. Just a day. After the team's Victory Parade Mendoza published a column in the daily Enquirer with the heading mothers. How old are your children? He not only cast doubt on the ages of the players from Zamboanga City. But whether they were actually from the small town as they claimed to qualify for the Little League world series players must be between ten and twelve years old and the player must live within the geographic boundary of the town or city that his or her team represents for example. Boy From Austin Texas. Can't play on team from Dallas. Ten to twelve is also a tricky age because of the disparity and boys sizes and appearance at that age some of almost reach their adult height will others are still under five feet tall to Mendoza and many others the Filipino players looked too and too poised for boys that age after he published his column. The American League president fact sheet of questions to his counterpart in the Philippines to confirm the players were the correct age and if they were all from Zamboanga City in his response the Filipino. Little League president declared that all the players were of legal age but admitted that several from outside Zamboanga city had been added to the roster because the original players weren't able allowed to travel to the United States. He explained that Zamboanga City is a very rural area and that many of the boys were needed to work on their parents farms. Others had been too afraid to fly. He also maintained that if the substitution hadn't been made the original team from Zamboanga City would have beaten the Americans by twice as much but days later Mendoza and his colleagues revealed that excluding the eight players added to the roster from other cities the six players actually from Zamboanga city. Were all over. Asia anywhere from thirteen to fifteen years old and had assumed the identities of younger boys in town that the team had replaced their original manager with coach from Manila. A coach who couldn't even speak or understand the dialect used in Zamboanga City. Furthermore the parents of the overage athletes had also assumed false identities in an effort to maintain the ruse. Maybe the Little League Baseball could overlook the replacement of a few kids who were too scared to fly but when it came to systematic fraud perpetrated by multiple generations. They had no choice but to strip the Filipino team of its title and awarded to the boys from

"On a typical weekend nights in Oakland. Nine hundred and sixty five. Sonny Barger had just received a call. One of his fellow hells angels was in trouble at a local bar. Sunny arrived to survey the scene at the four hundred club. He soon spotted the angel in his girlfriend being hassled by half a dozen guys from the local chrome shop. The ringleader had had just enough beers to be brave enough to trash. Talk the toughest guys in Oakland Sunny stocked over cool and collected to tell his brother that it was time to go and for good measure. He stuck twenty-five automatic in the mouth of the ringleader. Just to let him know what would happen if he didn't stop running his mouth. Shut him up sunny and the angel left but the Gulf remained doubled back inside to retrieve her through the window. Sunny spotted the ringleader. Giving her trouble he shook his head big mistake he'd already been warned once. Sunny stormed back in walked up to the guy and hits him on the side of the head with his twenty-five but the gun accidentally went off grazing. The man's skull sunny chuckled to himself. He'd been trying not to hurt the poor idiot but fate at clearly intervened so sunny grant this poor bleeding. Drunken mess bent him over the pool table and shot him again the lesson. Gang the hell's angels this week. We'll be exploring his club's rise to national infamy alongside the counterculture movements of the nineteen sixties. Next week we'll see how drugs and crime changed the face of the club forever in Nineteen Sixty three twenty five year old. Sonny Bono was president of the Oakland. Chapter of the hells angels. This meant he sat at the top of the burgeoning empire of outlaw motorcycle clubs known for drinking fighting and dealing drugs. Many anti-establishment organizations like these actually rose to prominence after world. War Two military veterans. Who had trouble fitting back into the square world of the nineteen fifties needed somewhere to go and shoot the breeze? Hollywood saw the appeal to the Marlon Brando movie. The Wild One introduced audiences across America to the world of leather jacket wearing motorcycle. Gangs causing mayhem. Wherever they went. But in the summer of nineteen sixty three sunny bargar had a bigger concern establishing his Oakland Charter as the dominant. Hells Angel Club even more powerful than the Founding San Bernardino Chapter. He also wanted to unite with other outlaw motorcycle clubs around the State. Sure they spent a fair amount of time beating each other up and jockeying for territory but they could put their beef aside to unite against a common foe. The cops so sunny bargar had an idea that would eventually become a hells angels tradition the Labor Day. Weekend RUN OUTLAW. Motorcycle clubs from all over the state would unite in Porterville California a medium sized town halfway between Fresno and Bakersfield there was no Setai Tin Ary. Just a plan to drink smoke weed and get up to whatever. Mischief found them. Sunny Bargar led his Oakland. Hells angels into Porterville to rendezvous with four other leading clubs the stray Satan's the galloping goose's the Coleman sheriffs and the cavaliers in all there were about two hundred bikers invading a town of about nine thousand people. At first everything went according to plan with bikers from different clubs bonding over drugs and women then an Oakland Angel Named Charlie. Magoo was having a drink in a bar minding his own business when an old townie through a beer in his face as soon as Magoo leapt to his feet. The old townie realized he'd made a grave error. There was no way he could take this guy in a fight. The townie bumbled an apology but it was too little too late. Magoo punched him in the face. The old man stumbled so Magoo punched him a second time. Then a third. The old man collapsed on the floor. Knock out but instead of settling things the townie went home grabbed. A gun came back and pointed it at Magoo. This was his town. These angels needed to go Vista Magoo had backup a group of fellow. Angels grabbed townies gun and turned it back around on him. They all took turns beating him until he had to be sent to the hospital. Meanwhile sunny was presiding over a Bachan. All that had taken over the Porterville main drag motorcycles were racing each other down the street the bikers girlfriends and female hangers on. Were having wet. T shirt contests. Everyone was drunk high or both. The angels stopped any vehicles passing through town and forced open. Their car does if they were young women in the car. They attempted to pull them out so they could join the party whether they wanted to on not not. Everyone was thrilled namely the Porterville. Chief of police. He worried he was losing control of the situation so he called out to other counties for backup by nine thirty PM over two hundred and fifty cops rolled into downtown to stop the madness. Their first move was to set up a blockade hoping to direct the bikers. Down One road out of town once was set the chief got on the Bullhorn and announce the bike has had five minutes to clear out. Meanwhile fire trucks spreads soapy water down the main streets making it impossible to race they turn their hoses on bikers. Knocking them off their harleys. Local teens even got into the action climbing to the tops of buildings and throwing bricks down onto the street faced with an army of guns hoses and bricks. The bikers had no choice but to leave town. Sunny led his bikers to the parking lot of Sports Center. A few miles outside of town to assess the situation as they counted their ranks. They realized they were missing for members who had been knocked off their bikes and arrested. Some of the other clubs wanted to give up and peel out. They trusted that lost members to bail themselves out of jail and find their way home but sunny refused to leave without all of his Oakland. Hells Angels Brothers. So at two thirty. Am they turned their bikes around and headed? Back to PORTERVILLE SEVILLE COPS had lined up squad cars to block the bridge leading into town and they were prepared to wait as long as it took for the hells angels to leave town for Good. Sunny wasn't intimidated. By the show of force. He ordered his bikers to line up in a counter blockade across the other half of the bridge. If the cops wouldn't let people into town. Then the hells angels wouldn't let anyone leave either. It was a standoff. Eventually a highway patrol officer approached sunny to try and broker peace sunny told the officer he just wanted his men back and would gladly pay the twenty five dollars for their bail. The officer took them to the portable chief of police. But the chief didn't think twenty five dollars was enough his counter-offer fifty thousand dollars. Sunny exploded in anger. He was trying to play by the rules. And these cops were trying to take advantage of him. Sensing a confrontation. The highway patrol officer scrambled to get the chief to agree to a low a bail sunny and the chief agreed to fifty dollars. And the Hells Angels. Pass the hat to raise the money. It seemed like a fair resolution. Yet by the time sunny and the bikers finally left town. They found another row of cops waiting for them. Ready to pull over any angel. Whose bike wasn't up to code and as a group devoted to customizing their rides. This was damn near all of them. This was the last Straw for Sonny. They were done being stopped by the cops. He ordered his men to outrun the police and they did in just one night sonny. Berger proved himself the undisputed leader of the hells angels and the baddest of all the outlaw bikers in California.

Jon Kabat-Zinn on Meditation as a Love Affair

"Big episode. This is weak big episode with a massive figure in the world of meditation especially in the West. I think it's safe to say that I would not have gotten interested. Didn't in Meditation Word Not for John Cabot Zinn who came out of a scientific background at MIT and Had A long history of studying Studying Meditation as well and then came up with a way to combine the two through mindfulness based stress reduction. which was a a way to to to teach meditation without the religious overtones or metaphysical claims and that created a situation in which creating in this standardized protocol for teaching meditation? Over the course of eight weeks this embiid or training meant that all these scientists could swoop in and test it on different populations In in a replicable way and that has created the explosion of scientific research we've seen around meditation and without that aforementioned explosion of research. I wouldn't have been able to get over the Hump to do it. I don't I don't imagine John is a huge figure for me personally. And and if you're interested in meditation by the transit of property he's he's he's a big product A big figure for you even if you haven't heard before his official title he is. He's the founding executive director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine Healthcare Society at the university diversity of Massachusetts Medical School. He's written a few huge books once called full catastrophe. Living another is called. Wherever you go there you are which is one of the first books I ever read about? Meditation was in fact the book. I was reading when I I gave it a try. A many many years ago That's just a short list of his books. He's written many of them and as you're about to hear He. He is basically impossible to interview but in the best possible way in that he very kindly and enthusiastically thickly and repeatedly derails the interview But stay with it because I promise that even though there appear to be loose threads Throughout the course of the interview I think we went back and tied tied them all up anyway. His his style is Really really fun to listen to be with and so. I think you're going to get a lot of this here. He is John Capitain. It's great to see you again. Good to be here. Always great to see you thanks. Dan Thanks As you know I spent some time with your son recently yes amazing. He's fantastic apple doesn't fall far and must be. I mean just to have an having extend myself for you to have a son with whom you can talk Dharma. That must be I mean. I can't really good treats together. You guys have have a real connection. Yeah so that's that's a that's kind of condition that's very hard to even put into words how it feels for me as there's a father to do that. So what's on your your. How old you know? I'm seventy five seventy five even at this both practicing and and My Term Not Yours. evangelizing definitely you know. I know you would not use that word but spreading the word. Put it that way. If you don't mind my tango this like you know the way I see my karmic assignment on the planet which has evolved over time as one to I found the cultivation of mindfulness through Buddhist meditative practices and traditions to be a The most profound thing that I've ever encountered my life and and even in my first twenty one years or so before I discovered that I you know I was. I deeply involved in science and all sorts of other things of tremendous interest but Being exposed to of the wisdom and that the Buddhist tradition somehow offers through meditative awareness. really put click lights on everything something else that I was interested in the world and kind of made sense of it and connected different elements like say art and science music and poetry in a deep understanding of the nature of the mind the body and so forth from kind of first person experiential level. Almost as if from you know since I'm laboratory scientists INTAS laboratory scientists. We've got one more laboratory that none of us ever really recognized as such and that is the body and life itself emerging out of momentary experience embodied in this body so that kind of was a unifying in very revealing moment for me when I began to experience that within the originally the zen meditation meditation tradition and so And what you're calling. EVANGELIZING are spreading. The word or something is really the way I see it. Is that This kind of capacity that human beings has like a hidden dimension like what quantum physicists or String theorists were cosmologists would call hidden dimensions of space time or reality and we have hidden dimensions. Galore being human that we never paid any attention to the right here then if we were able to occupy them were avail ourselves of them then without anything having to change life would be very different and the biggest hidden dimension is awareness itself then until recently in schools we never got any training and awareness. We got teachers wanted us to pay attention as best as we could but they never taught us how so lot of times. I'm a product of the New York public schools. I mean Moore yelled at to pay attention. which doesn't exactly help people who have a hard time focusing to actually get better at that And then over time it became came obvious that this would be something that would be more important for me to devote my life to articulating in ways that regular people all of us could understand that without doing anything all of a sudden you have like a whole extra dimension of. Let's say wisdom to actually draw on that it doesn't require moving to the Himalayas moving into some cave and meditating. You know or any kind of cliche about what meditation would bring you fifty the years after very hard practice so this whole notion that wakefulness Is something that you have to strive for and ultimately if you exercise the muscle long enough your wake-up okay and sometimes that's the word is associated with that and Linemen and enlightenment meant and then everybody wants to be enlightened but when but if you're in darkened your concept of enlightened is not going to be very accurate because the in darkness is going to have all these filters that make whatever you think. You're striving for inconceivable with the thinking mind mind okay but that doesn't mean it's not instantly available if you drop underneath your thinking mind which is always taught in school has had a think but not how to awareness so this is this sort of missing piece of our humanity so to speak and I like to talk about it that way because we gave ourselves the the name as a species Homo Sapiens sapiens from the Latin superior which means to taste to know. But it's not an intellectual knowing like looking something up in the dictionary and thinking about it is the direct perceptual knowing that comes with wakefulness with awareness with direct contact through attention. You get comprehensive seeing hearing smelling tasting touching. It's like that's part of our humanity but we never really encouraged to to exercise that muscle so that we can drop in on this moment and live fully now. As opposed to striving striving forcing doing doing doing to get to some better moment at some future time that we idealize rant Romanticize says the way I really should be if I was really myself tough enlightened compassionate kind never angry or he's keeping my voice calm all have never stressed knowing knowing how to deal with every conceivable kind of emotional or physical pain. And that's like just one more narrative of thinking thinking thinking and when you realize that in any given moment which means basically making it real then you're already okay. There's no place to go as it says in the heart Sutra Prajit Apar- Mita teachings supreme minor. Teaching is no place to go. Nothing to do and nothing no special something to attain. Why okay because you're already insanely special in virtually every conceivable way even if the narrative you tell yourself is that and then you fill in the blanks about? What's wrong wrong with you? Or why the world is you know. Has It in for you or why you'll never succeed door. You're too old or too big or too little or you to this to that which which is all just more narrative for thinking

An Interview With John McKenna, Chairman of Recreational Aviation Foundation

"We're speaking with john. Mckenna who is the chairman in one of six co founders of the recreational aviation foundation or simply r._a._f. Korea created during a backwoods campfire discussion in two thousand three the r._i._f. Has developed into an organization that stretches from the pacific to the atlantic and beyond what exactly is the purpose of the r._i._f. I think our mission statement says it pretty well. It's to preserve protect and to maintain and creates recreational opportunities rare scripts for people across the united states komo early for recreational opportunities so we're talking about remote airstrips when i have in my mind is grass gris drips in the woods. Is that what we're talking about. That could be certainly what you might see or think of if you were to do the poster but they r._a._f. Has really taken to the fact that where people can go and enjoy themselves with their plane or have a fun time they also count and <hes> so we might sort of break it into two kinds of airports one which would be known as backcountry airport which might somewhat fit that descript or that you just suggested and the other is <hes> perhaps same front entry airport that isn't necessarily buried in the in the back woods or in bottom of a deep canyon if might frankly c._b._s. Not on the lakefront edger <hes> on the edge of town. I think of some in oregon that are on the beach people can frankly fly into their bonanza go for a hike or go set up their tent and bring their children or their grandchildren or friends and <hes> for a bike ride or whatever the case may be so the stereotype might be as you described. We'd like to think that it's expanding recreational use and preserving the fun places for people to go with an airplane. So how many airports like that are you counting and are they endanger of closure well. There are certainly some that are very definitely in danger and when i say danger there are activists that perhaps don't share the same interest in aviation that we all do and they would just assume that airplanes in any way shape or form place would go away and they candidly work at making that take place so there's certainly people who are actively taking to close certain airstrips in certain parts of the country then there are frankly ones where might go but at the other end of the spectrum they've just been forgotten about and there's some use but not a lot so people fly by and they asked the question. I wonder could you land there. Can i land there and our first filter is does it have some recreational value or some interest to it that people might enjoy once they get on the ground bill today. Today i find myself standing in stover mont and we spent a great day yesterday exploring some of this area with some friends many of which you would know touching down on grass airstrips all up and down the shores of lake champlain up near mount marcy and in the mountains of vermont bond and you may not think of that as that country flying but it was a landing in some spectacular places with spectacular views and lots of things extraju yeah actually i've been there and it's a beautiful part of the world i know you're from the west the news the taller mountains than they have in the east but that can be pretty rugged around stowe vermont well isn't that the fun part about airplanes and that is that we get the opportunity to see things that maybe aren't in our backyard and and yes. You're absolutely right. I might have been one of those previously biased people who thought that all the mountains in the west but i can assure you they're not <hes> <hes> somebody left behind right here in vermont and they they go up to some tall elevations and i'm convinced we don't have the corner on the market working out in the west funny so the r._a._f. Is sixteen years in to its existence into its program. How would you evaluate your record so apar- astonishing i think it would candidly i'm both at times stunned and more often humbled when you start out with six people who literally have an idea and sort of parked himselves around a campfire and you find yourself involved with an organization fifteen almost seventeen years later that has some ten thousand plus members scattered all across all fifty states in twelve or fourteen eighteen different foreign countries and you know bill. One of the most interesting things is the foreign members that we have is the r._a._f. Who i every once in a while get a chance is to engage with and their reason for belonging is they want to preserve what we've talked about here because it's probably already been lost in the place they live and they're willing to support it here just on the off chance that they may get a chance to come and do it themselves or they think that we should be pretty vigilant about this because we live in a very special spot that has some are unique freedom attached to it. What are the greatest challenges or obstacles to the r._i._f. Fulfilling its mission. It's probably not much different than most of our businesses or anything else and it's the people and the challenges we are nearly one hundred percent volunteer organization. Asian people are all volunteers. They all do this because they love it. It's surely always the <hes> the challenge to keep the right kind of leadership and people who <hes> have the time to devote to it to that end. We are blessed with a great deal of folks. That are are just passionate about this stuff so i may be you. Don't worry about the same things that others do but yet at the same time i do worry about the interest in aviation. I was just asked yesterday as a matter of fact what do you think of the drone industry and how will that affect what you're doing and we're about the places whereabouts saving the places and maybe my children or grandchildren will help them up way be he delivered to some of these special places in some sort of a vehicle that i don't quite understand yet today but if the place doesn't exist then perhaps they won't make any difference. I feel like we're on the right track. We're basically land conservation group that plies airplanes and probably not bad place to be not a bad place at all and you're at a very very good place right now up in sto- in thank you for your time and good luck with the program. We advise extreme caution for children under thirteen. At eight twenty four AM on August. Eighth nineteen Seventy-three the emergency dispatcher in Pasadena, Texas, received a call from a young shaking male voice. He said, y'all better come here right now. I just killed a man moments later. The police pulled up to the rundown bungalow at twenty twenty Lamar drive. It's white and green paint was chipping, and the small drab yard was populated with withering plants. The teenagers sat on the porch. They looked haunted like they'd seen something unspeakable one boy pointed toward the door and told police in there. The cops entered cautiously on the living room carpet. They found a body shot five or six times his face matted with blood at first the police wondered, what drove three teenagers to murder they'd soon. Find out there victim was a month. "That's what Lisa and then go for these routing plea apar- apologized go for these rooms that are it's show business. And yeah, if you really wanna get like if you because there was a lot of behavior Michael Jackson's actions were there was a lot of premeditation about like how to coach these kids and how to get away with it. So I wouldn't even be surprised if he intentionally was like, I'm not going to do it with MacAulay Culkin because he will be a great witness to say no that never happened because he's famous and so people will be like, well MacAulay Culkin was a kid who hung out with them. And that's over with them and nothing happened. And why wouldn't you have sex with a call? Right. The the ultimate. You just did a the home alone. Take I so I don't know when I would get to see box office. But is there anything in there that talks about why Michael Jackson might have been this way? No, it's it's the story of these kids as as the guy says has filmmaker says on the Oprah thing what I love about this refers to Jackson this isn't Jackson story. And he's got an accident that I can't replicate it. He keeps calling him Jackson as opposed to all of us calling him. Michael jackson. Yeah. Because Michael or even Michael we've all call them at for so long that but he just calls them Jackson like he's any subject of a documentary. But the point is it's not Jackson story. It's these two young minutes. Whether or not, you know, and that's what's really powerful about is. By the end, when you see like, you know, what they're you know, how their lives were altered, and and what became of them as a Dulce and how they came to the realization of what happened to them you've been with you've been through the whole thing with them for three and a half hours. And so when it hits them it hits, you, you know, like, I was in tears with the moment. When when Wade tells his brother what happened finally, it's I mean, it was brutal. Yeah. I mean. His family. But as I had to go to the naval takeoff thriller. I buy it. Thriller running the whole colored vinyl. I've gotta take advantage of those deals now. I do not have I did not look this up. But one really interesting thing, you know, at the beginning, it has the thing like this. There's you know, this movie features graphic whatever I'm ninety percent shore that the font they used is the same as do. Remember? There was a warning at the beginning of the thriller video. Wow, I do. But I don't I I wanna I wanna look that up. Because if if they did that intentionally that is that is some deep level headed save. It's right in the face of Jay Jackson. Yeah. Jacko wacko now. He's dead. Of course, the family kids kids, and everybody's just I mean. Yeah. Fuck dato. But. Bury their that. You know, they they bury their heads in the sand. Here's the thing. You know, the the mothers of those kids obviously are have to live with his insane. Guilt. And I and there they are, you know, there's a lot of like, oh, you know, it's easy to say like, those are bad parents and on some level. Yes. But there's only one bad person really bad person in the story. And that is. Who is it? It's the it's the man who molested multiple children.
