"Hundred strikeout breakout seasons. He's at seven and that's active including twenty nineteen but of course shares are only went four and a third innings didn't throw ninety pitches. We're still waiting to see him. Be the fully back from that injury. So in terms of you know looking ahead not quite as encouraging as two hundred might sound like number two number. Two is twani any so last night. Jonathan scope twenty home runs becoming the sevens twins player this year with twenty homers. That's tied for an m._l._b. Record for twenty homer guides on a single team which was done recently it was done by last year's dodgers and a couple other teams too but like other homerun records that we've seen this year. It looks like the twins are going to break this. One because poor hip lonzo sitting at nineteen home runs right now and if they get that eighth player that would be a major league record all to themselves number one number. One is three thirty so i was looking at this. This morning thought this was kind of interesting so we've got five players right now hitting three thirty or better qualified players michael brantley d._j. Lemay jeff jack mcneil brian reynolds and christian yelich. Anthony ren jones at three twenty nine. He's right right on the edge. The last season where at least five players hit three thirty or better and qualified qualified seasons was twenty eleven ryan braun miguel cabrera adrian gonzalez victor martinez whose area some michael young that was six guys which i think is it's interesting because we've talked so much about home. Runs and strike outs this year and understandably so we've got some guys with some high batting averages and we've got some fun stuff with these batting title races digital may you. I think we've talked about already looking to be the first to win in both leagues and brian reynolds in the n._f._l.'s looking to be just the third rookie to win he would join ichiro suzuki antonia nia leave us so some fun stuff with the batting average knocked home runs down the stretch now some fun stuff when you said that it was tough to watch the mets and noah syndergaard last night it got me to thinking i told the story on the podcast before how a thirteen fourteen year old me was turned into an absolute blubbering weeping mess by reggie jackson in the seventy seven and seventy eight world series with three home runs and the next to your cheating sticking his hip out in the way knocking a ball off the side which was clearly interference aritz view in two thousand seven. You probably will like twelve thirteen fourteen years when the mets utterly collapsed at the end of the year..

"As much as you want. Don't restrict and that's going to be your day now. If you are in the process of losing weight this is going to be different but if you're in the process of sports performance it will be different so granted. This is going to be a little different for each person mhm but for us right now it's sports performance and what i've noticed is now. I'm not a sprinter. I'm not a runner owner. What i know i'm forty seven and i'm never done a like a real run program. I'm just run. I'm just gonna running jogging yakking. If you wanna call it that with a soft j. so recently you've written me or well. You've told me you told me what to do. You told me running run a program random program and i stuck to it and what i've noticed. Is that the way the run program works. Is i have a monday long run a wednesday interval day friday or spreads and when we're talking sprints we're talking. We've measured out one hundred meters. I run there as fast as i can like someone is chasing me to kill me again and again and again and again now. Most people will say endurance run. Yeah you can do that on fat fueled no problem overrun. They're going to be like you might. I need carbs. Sprints people are like oh hell. No you need some carbs corp sprint okay. Let's just say that for me me. I'm not fast so don't make fun of run time. I did my four hundred last week. I was faster pushed through them and then on friday anyone on domestic brands. I've been telling you when we first started sprinting ahead thirty seconds brands. They were hard then. I worked beyond to like. I had twenty seven second. I hit twenty one seconds sprints on friday multiple times without bogging. That's now carbs right and it goes back back to people think that if you had to you have to make glucose to glycogen that you can this is true but you don't need carbs to glucose to glycogen so i had the glycogen into the sprints and then guess what i did when i got done without. I came back and wanted to work out more and then afternoon. I worked out more and that's the cool thing about being fat fueled athlete. I'll call myself an athlete. I'll get myself that title <hes> but being fat fueled in doing some sort of sport when you could hit that hit workout hard and then you still have fuel in the tank to go do some weightlifting or something else that you want to do for the day and you're not smoked now the other a couple of good studies that they're they're going to overseas one was in germany and other when i can't remember where it came from but they did this and they they took carb athletes and they took out adapted athletes and tested muscle glycogen before and after workouts and what they found was there was no difference. I believe it so you can absolutely do all your explosive workouts on a meat or fat fuel died however you want to look at it and not have any detrimental repercussions now initially if you've been doing this for a long time. Let's say you're forty and you wanna. You wanna change job to be akito athlete. There's gonna be some time to reestablish those pathways that you convert all your non essential proteins or fat tickle bliss role to glycogen to glucose to glycogen. You're going to have to reestablish those pathways and that's what some people will call fat adaption. The first part is what some people we'll call the kito flu. We call it carb withdrawal yeah well. I don't wanna kito fluid that way too negative your head. You're having a car withdrawal on what you're actually. He did his withdrawing from carbohydrate right. It is yeah you're you're having withdraws. So if you're gonna make that switch you had to give yourself time time and and there is no set time it's anywhere from two weeks to six months depending on your activity age and biological pathways. We're we're on broad timeframe. Yeah it really. Is you know somebody's got competition coming up. That's that's something to consider a sees. Top people like i run marathons. I'm going to do next week will help right now. Dr. sweet not right now use. It probably not do that it. I mean i know there are people who done it and they fought through it and they were fine so you know we can't say it's impossible. If you ever want any tips on how to break through ooh that those first couple of weeks we got lots of tips on how to do that. You know it's interesting because even when you you do this for a long time you'll have days when and if you're wanting to do something like a long run like my long run last week was pooh it was so hard and then this this morning my long run felt like a cakewalk. Oh let us keep going yeah like i mean i don't know another way to say. It just felt like butter. It was so easy it was smooth it was i found my pace. I could have gone all day except i got blister. You know it was just rest easy and but then i look back to friday must sprints were easy. I mean i pushed it but i got to twenty one seconds is i'm just going to tell anyone that's looking for. If you want the age reversal it's carnivore. I'm i mean it may not be the diet for everybody but if you really wanna see you gotta try it for a while. We've been doing this for a long time over a year and a half. It's been a year and eight months now. We've been carnivore google yeah and it takes a long time for your body to adapt sometimes and i'm really starting to see now that we pulled the dairy out. Thanks to helen taylor for telling me. I need to take dairy out so i pulled the. We pull that dairy out and then. I didn't think that things could get better sports. Wise or sleep wise or you know muslim was already getting better or there's other areas. That got way better long-term. A a common thing is joint pain. Most people especially over forty complain about joint pain lower back pain just the aches and pains of the common gripes complaints lanes about people who i'm telling you my joints have had they feel really good now impression on them like i'm we we increase activity quite a bit i had i added another poll workout and too long bike workouts last week in addition to extra weight workout so increased activity quite a bit and i was sore but my joints didn't hurt and that's that's amazing if someone knows you and has been around and knows that joint pain and you've had your knees they've just the amazing because i'm amazed well when you start looking building up those aches and pains and i can go over. Some of my injuries that are <hes> you know have my a._c._l. Has been completely replaced that same knee has zero cartilage. None and i've had that for years been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in that knee severe arthritis. I broken both my ankles. Both sides of my ribs had my spine my spine redone. It's titanium so broken my shoulder my wrist my collarbone. I've had a lot of injuries injuries over the years none of that stuff hurt right now and that's that's that's a real testimony to the anti inflammatory properties of taken taking out all the other foods and just eating an appropriate diet of protein in fact people sometimes say to me well. You've always been in shape. No i haven't always always been in shape after i had spinal surgery in two thousand fourteen i have a lot of problems i probably put on thirty pounds of of unwanted weight from in inactivity and opioids and just you know just being having to not move. I couldn't do anything and that was. It took me a year to get back to where i could walk around the block so l. frat. It was a it was a long hard road. So if you're going through something like that you can get through it. There still is hope to see the other side. If you you you know if you want to be active and athletic and run or bike or swim or any of that stuff. There's still hope to do it. May in fact knew anybody can do it. If we we can do it. Anybody can do it and that's the whole point <hes> but you know if you're if you're struggling keep struggling. Keep going forward. Keep trying things. Don't quit and then and so important because as we get older a lot of times. We just feel like it's too late but hopefully we've had enough guests recently that can people can go back and listen to and know that it's never too late. It's never too late to start something new. It's never too late to explore new opportunities opportunities and to try and learn a new skill. I mean it's just it's amazing what the human body can do when you feed it appropriately and you move it because it's meant to move your body is meant to move one thing. I was gonna say just this is totally kind of off subject subject kinda so in all that vegan stuff. We were talking about this week that somebody posted not long ago. I don't even know where ooh think. It was in some vegan documentary. That's coming out that spartans were vegetarians or vegans silly so we looked this up. Nope guys if you what was that show called. It's coming out called game changer game changers okay. All these football players are going vegan sean baker post this why i looked into it and so looking at the spark dot. I'm like that's not right. I've read some history and so i went back and looked sure enough. Guess what day did not eat vegetables in fact documented. They're cooks. Were not allowed to cook anything but me yes. I mean it's a great point. You gotta go from propaganda the vegan propaganda and go to act actual historical documentation yeah so yeah i thought that was hilarious and one of their main foods was was this stuff called black soup and it was pigs applied pigs legs and vinegar and salt. It sounded delicious bacon soon. Basically we talked about that before. Like why do we have to take my knees eum and all these minerals will we don't usually drink the blood of the animals that we slaughter most of the time it's not included included in the package of meat that you get your bag stakes so there's not a bag of blood with it and pick up the armadillo on the side of the road that i saw the other day bob gross but so a lot of these cultures would drink that they would mix in the blood of the animal with their food so they had all that mineral content and it's just a stunning thing that somebody's trying to now say like spartans were vegan that what is a straight up lying. It's total bs. Just like everybody else says that we subsisted on lots of vegetables man we did not i and i don't see how they get that because if you just look at it from again from a historical standpoint and look at how people were and all the the weapons we made to kill animals and all the paint drawings of of casey down animals and killing them and how they're used to be woolly mammoths on this continent i in north america. There were tons yeah. They were and i didn't know this until we went down to austin. There were tons of huge woolly mammoths on this continent. We killed them in eight them. All i was that in san antonia nia waco new zealander somewhere anywhere namic par excellence and then in this place in mexico those those along the skeletons they found they found huge elephants yeah they were like not willie mantis research or some other elephant but all those huge animals used to be here and they're gone now. It's not like they just packed your bags and left. We killed them and ate them yeah and that was a problem with the <hes>. The woolly mammoth was their their life cycle. There you know burr cycle it was so long it was like a year and a half or two years that they could not populate fast enough. We ate them how we must have been tasting. It must have been delicious <music> but that's fine. We alavi like cows. I loved cows..
