"Does a great job breaking down he's very well spoken could definitely see him doing some color commentary in the future Great Guy Family Man, etc. It's hard to ask questions like this because he is such a good guy, but it's part of the job to talk about this stuff. Anthony. Smith. Has Gone Down dark roads and come back and got to a title shot. Are His best days officially behind him? Can he catch lightning in a bottle again? Yeah, one hundred, his best days have been behind he just he just bought a couple of wash fighters and wine, and now he's fighting guys are in their prime and he's losing it is what it is but to say Anthony Smith is in the primary career would be a folly I mean he hasn't been in the prime and very, very, very long time so if you want to. Keep fighting. He's an adult. He's a grown man. He can make his own choices. I'm never gonNA tell fighter to retire not I would suggest he probably retires. But if he wants one more worries at again, he is an adult grown man I'm not GonNa? Tell an adult grown man what to do with his career by name is not Jed Michou and I do not say things like that. But what it is given one more fighting than he can ride off into the sunset and be a commentator. Can Rekindle this jeters. Is it all behind him? No chance. No he can't rekindle it. You lightning doesn't strike twice and that's all this was I. think he doesn't need to retire I mean I- begrudgingly will agree with jobs as I'm not wanting to tell fighters when they need to do some you're. Making a choice and he can make a lot of money fighting and I think that he's at least shown enough not to be like our crap Anthony Smith's GonNa fight he's going to get knocked out on route fashion so if he wants to keep going sure. I suggest all fighters retire because they're like three fighters in history that it's actually a good career decision to do this. So I always suggest fighter should retire. So yeah, Anthony Smith should retire on on those grounds but. Not. From a physiological standpoint he's not totally shot his chin still holding up. He's okay. If he wants to keep going, keep getting the checks man given the way it is he'll probably get another main event on fight island. Well. We All love a Comeback Story Gentlemen. He's done it before maybe you could do it again but I think there's only one fight that makes sense that's Luke rock hold book it to a five it doesn't matter to a five. But just don't do. He knows how to throw a left talk so he can win that fight. Well since we love a comeback story point to. Go to Jose. Young see is even things up. As, we go from one tough conversation to another as we saw the return of the former UFC welterweight champion Robbie.

"He reminds me Hector Lombard. A little bit like Hector was kind of like blowing me off and he was GonNa kill me and he's GonNa, break me. You didn't know who I was and I didn't serve to be in there with them. And then we've seen how that worked out like it's super tough at the beginning because that's how they fight. But as it goes on like you, you figure them out in. Just. It'd be. Fun. To see him break. After having attention to break me like that's the fun part for me. So it's Like I. So it's like, okay like if you're going to look at that and that's the guy you think is showing up like your coaches are Junio big disservice if you guys aren't looking back further than that so. Whatever it's fun. I'm I'm happy that he's Kinda like Kinda greedy and kind of talk and Shit a little bit like that's really exciting. So good luck to you in the team come August twenty ninth thanks a lot and that means a lot to me the the the media part of it because it's it's really hard. It really is an you don't make it seem elway way. You're. Up It's so art I studied really well I think that that's where that's what kind of saves me a little bit is is I once by the time I get there these guys inside and out and so but that doesn't mean lots of me I appreciate that. I've said this before I could talk to have any Smith all day such. A well-spoken thoughtful guy has turned into a great broadcasters still planned to five losses last fight but still player in my opinion and especially now with John out opens the door right now there's a lot of possibilities for guys like him go over to Sheriff Diego. Sanders all the guys lost jobs are now very much alive in excited. So we'RE GONNA get. We're GONNA get race behold it's on September twenty six we're going to get global. And we're getting ray and Anthony. Those are pretty much the top six guys got a bit of a little tournament here. This is very exciting stuff at two. Oh, five. So next stop is Lionheart I'm looking forward to that fight especially hearing anthony talk about and seeing the kind of place that he's mentally and physically that is good news if you're a fan of Anthony. Smith. All right time. Now for everyone's favorite segment of the week, and as always it is brought to you by Modell modell all aspects Ya'll sending the gold standard for authentic Mexican beer since nineteen, twenty, five Delo brewed for those with a fighting spirit. GST's minimalist tip of doing. So Ariel I had a long talk with myself this past weekend and I decided that there are some changes I need to make in my life because as a minimalist I'm always assessing where I am who I wanna be in quite frankly I'm not happy with who I am right now. So I made some changes in whatever I feel I need to make some changes or some adjustments twilight. There is one thing that I commonly go back to to reset my priorities and what I do is I practice the rule of three so what the rule of three? Is You ask thank you for asking I. Basically Assign a number of habits that I want to start incorporating into my week. So for example D rule three habits that I've chosen this week are I, want to read for thirty minutes I want to go on a walk that's at least forty five minutes long, and there's a couple of other heads and I want to do all those things three times in a week and then I, go to my list after I do check it off and I just keep doing this just to reinforce these habits because as. As we all know the way you build habits as constantly doing stuff over against to the point where I can be doing these things right I don't have to think about it or to do it. So I feel I was losing my way a little bit. So if any of you are losing your way and there's things you want to incorporate into life out, suggest doing something like the rule three. I like it the rule of three threes a great number. One of my favorite numbers by the way, thirty three is my favorite because of the Great Patrick Ewing. But I've actually started to read a little more during this pandemic. I don't know why now that sports have come back I've done less but in the beginning when there wasn't anything going on, that was one of the big new additions to my life get caught looking at the phone and TV ipad. "I'm Mike enjoying this week. You know this man. The number six ranked two hundred five ponder in the world, and what a guy he is on a family road trip of this family's camping, and I asked him he said you know what let's talk some fights right out here in the Wilderness Anthony. Smith is here. Really appreciate this man. How are you? I'm good man. just got our camper. I'll setup and Yeah, we're just GONNA get hooked up here and I took a break from it to talk to you. Guys looks like I broke hydraulic line. Though so that's fucking cool. That's that's wonderful. As part of the deal right? Yeah, well. I appreciate you doing this. It means a lot and it's nice to see you get away. Enjoy some time with the family. I'll try not to keep you too long, but let's get right into this thing made for tomorrow night. We get curtis blades taken on Alexander Volkov and you got a guy like curtis blades. WHO has every guy? He's fought with the exception of Francis in Ghana. He's been pretty dominant and doing. Doing so taking on a very dangerous Alexander Volkov won seven out of his last eight, and the one blemish was that fight against Derrick Lewis where he won pretty much the entire fight until I got finished Eddie. The narrative that seems to surround this fight is one that we hear quite offense, the striker versus the wrestler, so people think Volkov keeps it standing. It's his fight. Blades gets to the ground. It's his fight. You look at it the same way. No not necessarily I think that. Curtis blades absolutely has a chance of winning this fight on speed as well. I think we've seen that in the and the s fight. If he has the power to put these guys out, and he has no problem staying. Disciplined and and defensively sound, and in his own big shots, I think striking is becoming better, not only just training with allaster over, but. Because of that, take down that that threat of the take down I. think that that changes the entire game permit for him I, it's not just wrestling. You have to worry about now. You have to worry about that and is striking is come lawyers. I! Don't see Alexander. Volkov having a chance of winning this fight on the ground. I just don't I I absolutely think Curtis Blades has the advantage. There for sure, and and I and he's dangerous on his feet so. You know I. Think you're bed, Guy? You'd probably go with Curtis Blades. Spike Kinda reminds me of a fight that happened in your division earlier this year between Chorea Anderson Yamba Hobart's where most people were like. We're favoring. Corey Anderson to go out there and win and then go on to fight. John Jones for the title and Yamba it's did what he did. And it's Kinda like this like everyone seems to be favoring curtis blades and Volkov's coming in flying completely under the radar at least from everything. That I've seen. Have you noticed that as well? Yeah I. Have you know I think I think a lot of people are are. I wouldn't say the writing him off, but I think the curtis blades. It's been on such a streak, and he's been so dominant over everyone that's not named Francis and Gone Hill. That I I think he deserves that hype. I do think that he gets through Alexander Volkov and that's not saying Volkov doesn't have a chance if he can be mobile in stay long and pick him apart from the outside Alexander. Volkov's one of the best heavyweights that we've ever seen so I know that it does sound like people writing them off like he has no chance, but he's as good as they come I I. Think Curtis. Blades is just full package. and I think Alexander Volkov does have that glaring hole game versus dominate you dominant wrestlers, dominant grapplers, and we have seen him finished. Before. Of course you can make the argument that right now. Curtis Blades has done more than enough to earn a title shot but I it just kind of a logjam right now. We got Steve. Mitch Daniel Cormie coming up in August. It's Koreans last fight even rumblings out there that it could be steep as last fight as well. Nobody really knows for sure, but Curtis is an interesting position because if he wins tomorrow night, the one guy ahead of him in the title discussion is in Ghana. WHO's already finished twice so? Where does he go from here at the oddsmakers? Get this on right. Like do you try book a third fight within Gano or just try to keep him active against tough competition against guys with some relevancy that he hasn't already beat. I typically wouldn't say this, but. I think he waits I. Think you wait? You wait for steep and do their thing And then you see what the landscape looks like. Both guys may retire. I think both guys retire you end up with a bank of vacant heavyweight title. You have a Francis and Ghana Curtis blades three because I. don't I don't think you can make any other fight if one whoever wins decided to stay and defend that title I think. Francis in Ghana was obviously the next in line. I think Curtis dissuades in the way that these fights are going. Maybe in the past you might end up waiting a year or or fifteen or sixteen months for that title shot. If you'RE GONNA, wait for the fight that's already set and then the next challenge, or that may be a lot a lot longer than you wanna wait. In the current times that we're in right now with the pandemic and as fast as the US's role in fights. If he if he waits may only have to wait eight or nine months and I think eight or nine months is enough. Time for Curtis plays. Continue to get better. In challenge for the title, so in one of those rare instances I I would probably in my opinion, I would wait if I was if I was cursed blades. To the top of the car, but I'm really looking forward to this Komen event tomorrow night, one hundred forty five pounds..

"You take care really appreciate Anthony Smith for taking some time out. I can't say that I agree with everything that he said but it obviously sheds some light on why the corner did not stop the fight. And look if you're hired by fighter in the fighter says to you I will fire you if you ever throw in the towel will. Then you may not throw the towel and we can understand why their hands may have been a little tied. It's a tough spot. Put them in. I don't agree with putting them in that tough spot I feel in. Who Am I to say any of this? I'm not a fighter. I know that but I feel as an outsider that once you walk into the cage you need to give your corner that power you need to empower them to make those kinds of tough calls and it's they're looking to do that. It's not like they want to do it. But they're looking out you because they love you and they wanna work with you and they want your career to go on for many years. And he has taken that power away from them. So that's why I don't agree with it. Also when you hear him say that he would do it to someone else that he would stop the fight for a friend or teammate. It leads me to believe that he understands why we were so critical. He just doesn't want it to happen to him. And so I get that and I appreciate what he said about Jason Herzog. I still feel like it was an off night but again. I don't think we need to harp on that. Jason Hers is a very good ref. One of the top five best reps in the sport today. He didn't have a great night. He owned up to it. I think we should move on. Because he's had many more great night's than bad nights and that was one bad fight all right it happens now. I know that the repercussions are very serious. The damage was serious. But Anthony's at peace with them. I guess we should be at peace with it as well. I do think though that fighters should have these serious conversations with their corners before the flight about what the rule should be. Nfo's up to me. I wish that once you step foot in that cage you give that power to the corner and so I feel for the coroner who had to hear people like myself criticized for a week. They didn't come out and say that there was that rule in place. And so. That's why I appreciate you for clearing that up again. I don't agree with it but I appreciate the explanation. I appreciate him being so honest and candid and blunt about it as he always is and hopefully that shed some light as to why the fight went on as long as it did. So thank you very much. Anthony Smith now on Saturday the U. OF C. Held their third event in eight days and in the middle of the show there. I am watching it and I happened to notice that Jim. Ross yes Jim Ross. "Win period all right. Let's take a quick pause from this conversation with empties which I hope you are enjoying to tell you guys about a company that could really use a partner like Anthony Smith modell. Why modell because modell's brewed for those with a fighting spirit that's why they're the official beer of the UFC because they support those who never give up even when the odds are against them. Much like Anthony Smith to be a great fighter as you know. It doesn't matter where you come from an matters what you're made up. The same can be said for Great Beers. Modell has been the gold standard since one thousand hundred. Five Delo is a Chris pills their style lager that set the standard for authentic Mexican. Beer modell uses premium hops. Modell modell special root for those with a fighting spirit drink responsibly. Beer imported opponent boards Chicago. Illinois saved the end very quickly like they do in the commercials. I'm trying my best. I hope you appreciate that all right. Here's the rest of my conversation with Anthony Smith so when Jason Her dog. The referee who has a great reputation came out with that statement on Friday. Saying no one is to blame except for me. What was your reaction when you read that? You're being you're being coward. Were you surprised that he did that? Yeah I don't need you to take the heat off me. I don't need your help. You know like I. I made the decision with my coaches a long time ago. That this is how this was going to go up in this spot and I was okay with that and then I made the decision to have that conversation with Jason. Hers ought to make sure that I knew he was. GonNa want from me if if I ended up in a bad spot or if glover ended up in a bad spot 'cause two sides now if I'm going to be listening to the commands a I need to know how close to finishing glover so that I don't Wanna I don't WanNA empty my gas tank in not even be close to finish so of very clear with him before the and he'll tell you that I probably the only guy that does very I'm very clear on on what is GonNa Salman to stop a fight. I need to know that So I did everything. He asked me to do everything if he was going to stop the by. If and I don't think that he needed to at that moment but if he was going to stop it the only time he could have done that was right. One Glover dropped me right when he dropped me. I was face down for a second. It's two shots on the glover's way down like that was the only time that like I could look at it and say that was probably a moment. He could step into probing allowed. People said then other than that. There wasn't another moment for him stops by. It never happened. Never two consecutive huge blows you recall handing your teeth and will you phrase when you did it that he would stop. The fight is the aesthetics of it. That just look like shit you know. It's I do. I look down glover. Hit me with like just a a little pop shot and my mouth conjugal down in the bottom of my teeth Just look down at my teeth director and for whatever reason. I don't know if I thought it was going to put it back in or what but I was like. Oh there's my tooth. The united grabbed it and then. I had it in my hands and I didn't know what to do with it too but again I wish I wish I wouldn't have said anything about my you. Because that was when the media started picking up on always knocking his teeth out like I guess I miss the rule the study needed all your TV Suffi- The grand scheme of things. I've been in way worse situations than just a couple of Mississippi handed more than a couple of times. It's really not the deal and I wish I have handed it to him. Just look bad. Hysterics is just not. Did Jason. Her speak to you after the fight. No no have you talked to him since I don't think there's a reason to I. I was just curious the apologize to you if he was apologizing to the world right. I wouldn't because I don't think I don't. I don't need an apology. Meet him break. His hands are clean on this one. We're good again. I want to get rid of again. I think he's a phenomenal rep and I would love to have him in there with me again. Because he's very clear he stays out of the way. Quiet like Peterson. Another guy that I really enjoyed you. Because they don't insert them so the. Dan is good like they. Stay BACK THERE. Let you fight. Sometimes you forget that there's a render and I like that in a very clear with instructions and we speaks when he needs to like. He's he's great man. It was really really good so I was just about ask you. Do you know in the future. Would you ask to not have her on? Fight you to answer that question on so we know where you stand there. What about the relationship between you and your Cornerman your coach Mark? Montoya's been with you for quite some time. Has this affected your relationship. Will you change your corner moving forward? No no and I think that there's some things we could the we're going to have to talk about an address In a lot is going to be a lot of tough enough. And they're Kinda conversations like I know that mark is very very upset at at some of the things that are happening online. I Know James is upset. I know everyone's disappointed the criticism. You mean yeah just in. It's not their fault. Like what were they supposed to do? We grill stopped by. And then I fire them all and they knew that I reiterated yesterday. Nothing changes you spoke like you can ask them about like nothing changes like. Obviously we gotta get better. We got some things. I gotTA SAY. Technical stuff Just the way that we trained some of the approaches. That's that's an ever changing thing. We're going to change stuff like that winter loose in this situation again. I don't need them. I had to make sure like this. Has this part of. It doesn't James. Like I don't need to worry that you guys can't handle so I wanNA float something your way and and I appreciate the relationship that we have because I feel like I could be honest with you and you won't hold it against me type of thing because you know I said to you last year. I think you should have taken the win against Jon Jones. Right in you words. You know called the assists as well for do that and I respect that. I didn't take personal but I feel like you should take did something illegal. Wasn't your fault. It was a big fight. You should be the champion in that moment and so you can make a strong case and I can make that case because I feel. You should've won that fight because of the illegal knee that your corner should have advised you in that moment because you were probably a little bit out of it at that point because you hit with an illegal knee. Hey man take the bill live to fight another day as a champion will make a lot of money. This is good for your career warrior. Spirit all that stuff. That doesn't put food on your family's table in five years right but being a champion does so you can make a case that the corner failed you that night a year ago and they feel you last Wednesday right. It might actually actually in the John's light. They wanted me to not continue ruined because not because they want me to steal bellary thing. They knew I was heard. Yeah they knew that I was compromised. And then I wasn't going to be going back as strong as I was. And it wasn't like you need to sit down you can't you can't continue. It was very much a like are you. Okay like don't keep going if you're not okay. It was a lot of questions like are you sure. You're okay. I in but they will let you talk to your corner. So it's a Lotta yelling whether.

"Amazing night fights and we have Anthony Smith. WHO's fighting April twenty minutes fighting over over to sheriff? We have him calling in shortly. It'd be great to get his take on what happened in his division and also we have Trevor Giles. Who won that fight over James Krause very close very close fight cross took it on zero notice? That's crazy but sometimes that works against the guy with the camp to because because he's trained for somebody else it's almost like they say I hate to say there's no pressure but you're not expecting to fight the next thing you know you gotta give it fifteen minutes. How about this? A guy takes that fight off the couch. I don't care if he's normally a marathon runner you push the pace on that guy. There is being in shape and in his fight shaved. Yeah you know I would never have done that. I mean ball. It's it's it's it's a ballsy ballsy and You know and I think krause else. He had a good fight. I would just I think they should run that back. I think I do too across is not even that we Klis busy. No middleweight. So he's going to be heavy does he. Normally yes so he went also he was just he went on. And if I chase man it's crazy. They're probably not going to run it back but he just took the fight. I don't I do not believe much bigger. I don't believe that Krause's Stock went down. No 'cause he showed a great skill set and again very close fight I love his. Jujitsu is very good. You Jitsu I also we can talk a to The judging was an abomination how bannon judging. Let's talk about that because I want to know what fights I did not listen I I was at a wedding purple Anthony Palomino. He's got married and I mean a bunch of guys you know we went there was a New Jersey and and Hold on his name is Joe. SOLAS SE Palomino. He the judge what. Oh I don't know the judge so ginny we went did his thing. He was in New Jersey so me and my wife to our trip. We didn't stay over. We drove back. I got back in time to watch the Jones fight and then I watched other fights lights the next day. It's not a great story but I'm trying. I was hoping the Gash a flat. But there's no no we just drove home. No Jimmy Miniseries happen. It's not a good story. Man by point is I get to watch. The fights is live except for the main event so I caught the other ones and I did not see Lauren Murphy's fight I guess Andrea League. I heard it's Labatt. The one I heard was very close. A lot of people Li won that fight but again in a in a split decision you know obviously when when two different guys at one way and then one okay. You know a split decision or a little easier to handle. When there's a controversy than a unanimous decision that is fucking abysmal? Oh which one is that you and say let me let me correct myself. This was put decisions and Jimmy Andre you all against Jonathan Martinez and a lot of thought. Martinez won that fight. Actually everybody thought he fight. I was okay with You'll getting the win. I think he looked at. You really hurt his hand in the second so You know look I could see the case for Martinez. But I wasn't crazy about Andre. You're getting the nod in that split decision but the fact that this guy this Joe saw Solas who is a abysmal at his job. Yeah gave it thirty to twenty seven and Andrei your. That's insanity. What were you watching? Now Jimmy I feel that he stinks this judge. I'm the of these fights. I saw the whole main card. Okay so the judge who gave it forty nine forty six. Thanks same drug. Same judge the same guy who thought Jones one round round two. I had three one going into what I thought. I only short once. Yeah but I remember thinking that Jones needed to Finish it yet because I remember feeling that Dominic won the first three rounds again. I seen it once. I'm GonNa Watch it again. Around was much closer okay. That was a few like not a robbery if they gave it to Jones. Listen I'm not sitting here I that's that's what I remember thinking so I'm like Oh man he has to stop it. But you have to give the champion something. I mean. Listen you scored around around. But he did come back that He was a last round. He was stalking them. He just doesn't pressures relentless he doesn't he doesn't accept it. He doesn't accept defeat You Oh you definitely could have made a case. I I remember thinking that he won the fight dominic but it was. It's not yeah. I'm okay with the fact that the nod went to Jones Jones because he was great and Brown Ford around five. It's like this fucking guy just never stops coming. He is the champion. He did have a couple of take down zero damage but for it didn't matter there was a couple of toby. Jones didn't win Jones's face when he was up on that fence. If you watch the end of that five we can grab that John Looking around off the cage like nodding. Yes yes but in his face you like. He is not convinced that he won the fight. And when you see him saying like take downs want like John is a very confident guide. So you're saying no but I think he knew I think he knew it was so close or he might have even felt. Look it's three one and I gotta finish them and I couldn't finish him but John did not look Chris the we have. Okay sorry I want to ask Kim about this. Yeah so I'm waiting for you to say about that too Jimmy. Let's not forget that what you were saying looking out into the almost on his his face is one you fight all right. Let's talk to Anthony. Smith Hi Anthony. How are you subline? Are you guys doing doing. Good Buddy We were just talking Obviously about the card this weekend and there's so much to discuss but as a guy who's fought Jones I wanted to ask you first of all at at the end of the fighter my crazy when I say I looked at Jones when he got up on top of the cage and even though he got the nod I looked at his face and I'm like he does not think that he won on this fight. He did not look confident on top of that cage at the end of the fight. No you know I I kind of seeing the same thing but John is such a hard guy to get a read on what he's thinking and I was more focused on what he looked like inbetween rounds inbetween rounds. He looked he looks lost and flustered and in. You looked worried immortal. Taunts concerned for sure that I was thinking that too. I'm thinking already fight now like you know what I mean. How did how did you have because again as a guy just watching it? I had three one going into the fifth but again if they gave the third to Jones. You know it's not a complete robbery. But how did you have it. I had a three to raise raise one in the first three rounds In John Win the last two. But you know I I don't go thanks You know that's how I had it and I went back and rewatch the last night when I got home and I still feel the same way you know. I thought the rounds one through three were pretty clear for ray. As I don't want to say that they were dominant dominant. I don't think he was running over John but I thought it was pretty easy to see that he was up as a guy who's fought him before too. I think the impressive thing about Jones and again he did it against against Jesus allegation is is his ability to to be relentless in the fifth like that really is an amazing quality for him to perform as well in the fourth and fifth. I mean he's a champion for a reason but I I got it. Yeah and that's what champions demand and they keep pushing the keep they keep looking for a way and that's that's Kinda John's Mo back in the day that people used to wonder if he had that that championship medal in that toughness and that grid and and that's not something you ever have to worry about John Jones anymore. You know. I I think a lot of this talk about diddy wins do not win. The reds does raise deserve it. I think that in that it's getting lost that that's not John's fall. He did. He did what he was supposed to do. He he fought fought his heart as he can. Fight you know I. I think that's good lost a little bit. It was an incredible fight. In congratulations to both guys. Just for what it's worth. I decided to go the other way you know before you called in. I called it the same exact way. I thought it was. Excuse me three route. Three rounds the first three rounds dominic one as far as John Jones make looking looking concerned after the fight. It when you fight Jimmy you like and I don't know if you feel the same way Anthony is a lot of times even in you one going through your head you thinking about just when you were touched or how you you didn't get take down so either no in this fights that somebody clearly one or I feel. I clearly WanNa something and I ended up winning. I always think about like some of this shit. I did wrong so maybe over a five round fight. That was closed. That's what he was. I've just you might be right. I've just never seen that. Look I remember. I was just looking at John Go. I've never seen it. Just it shocked me what I saw his face. I'm like he's not convinced that he won this fight and he my if I interview him I go now. I didn't think that at all but I was struck by the look on his face and like he's not sure right. Now what's going to happen. Yeah man had a good point too you know and despite being the one where John was touched more in this fight then he's ever been hit you know. When I was at the desk they gave us the stats saying John? A dominant Reyaz landed more shots by the middle of the second round. The IAGO Santos Santos landed on John Jones the entire fight now but in the middle of the second round this middle the second round. He landed more significant strikes on John. Johnson Tiago Santos posted the entire fight. What do you think about? The big concern is the judging. You guys go in there and you do what you do and yeah judges get it wrong once in a while they make a mistake but when it's something as agreed or awful as as going forty nine forty-six and giving four rounds to John as a fighter. How do you guys remedy that with your ahead? That no matter what you do a do a judge can be so bad at his job. Listen that wasn't even the forty nine forty six wasn't even the worst scorecard of the night. If you guys remember the traveling giles versus James Krause fight. Those one of those judges scored that first round for for Trevor Giles. That's fucking crazy and then and then that same judge scored the third round krause so the third round for He thought Krause did better in the third then he did in the first. Wow why and he's the same one by the way is this. Is this the same guy who gave it thirty. Twenty seven hundred. You'll yeah he really bad. Why don't we gyles calling in after us? Maybe we'll bring up that fucking staff back on the that makes it sound like we're trashing. The fighter a misconception at all you know like Trevor Giles did what he's gotTa do. But if we're not getting I you know as far as remedying go ahead. I don't know what the Hell we do kind of sat back like what the fuck is happening here. This doesn't make any goddamn sense like there's no clarity there's no and again this doesn't happen in every single state. Texas is notorious for for kind of being a little bit wonky on on some of their things. So I just think that dominant dominant cruising Joe. Rogan had a good point. I think that these commissions need to start leading us in a little bit That we've kind of been pushed on the outside and they just make the rules and they wanNA control everything. It'd be the big dogs. But they're not the ones that have to get in there and do it and put your your livelihood in your body on the line for sometime seemingly nothing. Even if you do what you're supposed to do you know what I love I hate is when people are like well. Don't.

Yeah I'm really excited for my future. I see nothing but great things coming. I my future feature not long ago you were talking about. You know super fights big fights thinks get. You seem like you're Jonesing for a big fight with a mega fight. If you will when you got the Dominic Reyes fight. was that initially a bit of a letdown. was that not the super fight that you were looking for No it wasn't a letdown. Dom agree as he's he's a hell of an opponent you know he's undefeated Shrimp athletic excuse believes in himself. He's not out. Almost everyone has gone against and in order to the best ever you gotta take on all comers and so so I'm excited for this challenge and I know bigger fights ahead of me for sure. I'm only thirty two years old right. I'm trying to figure out new ways to stand up on my game stay young and and Preserving myself better and so I know mega fights are inevitable notable and I just got to be approved for where I am now today when he beat Chris wideman and he made the comment about the party favours. was that almost like a good thing for you because Kameda personal and that kind of gave you a little bit of a of a push lit a fire under you to act okay. Now I have a reason to want to beat this guy up no was. It wasn't necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. It's just it's something that's going to be tagged to my image and reputation forever and I'm okay with We all have our pass and That's what makes us we are in the presence. You have peace with that one hundred percent you know I. I can't allow my past the whole way over me You got to you know you got it. Forgive yourself for mishaps in life and and you got to move forward. You can't hold yourself imprisons in Catalonia Buddy the hold yourself in prison if people are talking about things that five years ago. That means. I'm doing something right right. was that always the case or is that just a part of your maturation process where you start to say. I need to start letting go of the past and it wasn't always the case you know I it's taken a while for me to be able to be comfortable with some of the mistakes I've made and things like that but but but I'm grateful that I am at a place where I'm comfortable with WHO I am comfortable in my own skin and You know there's no good without the bad you know so so yeah so. I'm grateful and good when we spoke in November of two thousand eighteen. You told me that the previous summer you check into a trauma Rehab Center. Yes we're dealing with the loss of your mother and also getting stripped and all that and you actually told me that you were planning on doing it every summer. You'RE GONNA check. Did you do it last summer. No I didn't how come just because I feel I feel like I took a lot out of going into a trauma therapy. You know senator. I felt like I took a lot of a lot of it. I still carry the lessons that I've learned lots of lessons that I've learned in and I didn't really feel a need. I feel I feel great. I feel great. I think I've faced a lot of the issues that I was going through. And and and Got To let off my shoulder and I just needed it. I knew you were very close to your mom. Yes how often do you think about her. And how big of a part of of your life is trying to you know. Continue to do well in honor of her and tried to make her proud wherever she may be. Yeah my mom. Camilla Jones Amazing Woman Amazing Christian. She gave back to absolutely everyone her funeral so epic. Because I got to watch maybe maybe ten fifteen women stand up in Taco Bell. The way my mom helped him get off drugs or got them out of abusive relationships or just dropped off food or clothes their children children thing like things like that. My Mom's Reno was just so inspiring to me. Because I realized that my mom was a rockstar she was an absolute rockstar and And in her own way and it made me really kind of look at my platform out of a different wins and I realized that I had the means in the ability to give back to so many people do so much for the world makes such a positive impact. And and that's and that's what I've got on. My Mom's legacy is is is you know. What are you doing with your talents and your gifts and so I yeah definitely try to keep my mom in mind a lot of my actions and decisions and and Yeah I wanNA make her proud for sure I know that she she has Front row seats At everything I'm doing pharmacy events and everything and and I definitely want to make her proud for sure when you told told me back then that You weren't sober anymore that you enjoy drinking and things like that. That was a big headline right. Because everyone's always wondering about your sobriety or what you're doing where where does that stand right now Sobriety I mean I'm like I'm like ninety percent of the USC Rossier just just just your average guy very normal person outside of being a fighter. I enjoy my weekends. I enjoy my family. I enjoy everything that everyone everyone else is doing. Obviously Let you know the hard partying beside myself. Go completely okay. I'm it's been three years since I've it done anything Wild like the way I used to be really proud of myself above that but outside of that yeah. I'm just like everybody else. I've beers on the weekends NHS in but I worked really hard and and you cut it off before the fight at some point absolutely so here. We are a little over a week. is that no more You know I got my traditions. What's that I got my traditions? What's the tradition? You know. I do my thing. Okay I enjoy. I like to to enjoy myself. I think I think to to earn a certain life and to deal with the level of pressure that I deal with you gotTa have a balance in life so I do a really good job of of of working in planning and and just being true to myself and make myself happy and and make my family happy in my our friends coaches that everybody everybody feels good and I think it's important to feel good what you're doing two thousand nineteen. How would you describe that you're for you? Two Thousand Nineteen was tremendous area. Dom agree as he's he's a hell of an opponent you know he's undefeated Extremely athletic excuse believes in himself. It wasn't a zillion good thing or a bad thing. Outside of being a stealth fighter. "And I like the fact that there's a lot of fresh faces Anthony Smith. All of a sudden is, is right back in the mix. What a guy Anthony Smith. I'm so blown away by him by his demeanor buys candor by his by his just his overall package guy was fourteen losses was kind of a middle of the road fighter now being able to put it together, the way he has really impressive. I've really enjoyed getting to know him over the years, and I will admit I'm a little late to the party here on this one, but men and very cool, as you see they're seeing other fighters, give him props afterwards. Because the Lionheart somewhat of a cliche, nickname, it's legit when it comes to Anthony Smith and he's just so humble, and he's just so down to earth. It's, it's amazing to watch him. So that was Saturday. In Stockholm some other things that happened this weekend. As we wrap up an interesting day on the program, we talked about Andy Ruis, Anthony Joshua, and I wouldn't cry again, I wouldn't cry for those promoters, a lot of people. I saw my, my buddy Steven A getting all mad. I get it. You'll want it to see Joshua wilder. I get it. But I mean, like honestly first of all Joshua comes back wins that fight. When's the rematch, the luster has been taken off, but it's not the worst thing is really not the worst thing. It's not the worst thing in the world that you get this extra fight out of them. Don't cry for these guys. And I don't feel bad for you. I don't. You guys screwed it up. Why should we feel about why should we be upset? Now, we've got this guy, Andrew is the every man, it's a beautiful thing. So I'm not going to be upset about it. I don't understand why everyone's upset. Heavyweight division. The world is talking about the heavyweight division, anyone who's telling you that boxing is dead. A totally wrong be the heavyweight division. Usually leads the way right? "Anthony Smith fights in beats Luke rock hold in two thousand nineteen at light heavyweight. I hope it happens. But I hope the fight happens almost a false though. I I love Anthony Smith, and I think he would give Rockall the really good fight. But I think I'm gonna -ticipant in the Rockall gonna look better is new way just projecting. I think he'll be too much of an full that way for him. I'm going to say true. I think I think that's absolutely the fight to make regardless of whatever happens with either of these men in these next fights, they want it. I want it. And I think this move could surprise people. They'll although who knows loop Rockall might become a murderer once again, that'd be a great fine. I'd love to find out. Yeah. Absolutely same. And then last one coming from Robb Holland. Tyron Woodley lose the Robbie Lawler in will not move to middleweight yet. If he loses. Thank you goes the middleweight. Is that would be the end of the wealth Ray room? I think so I don't know where I mean, I think he wants to stay vital to a picture a, you know, a title picture. So I don't think that you would be anywhere near that. That went wealthed way. So he probably a new a new landscape would be right for him. Now. Yeah. I'll say false, but I just say false because I don't think turn will will lose the Robbie louder. But that's why they fight the fight soultions Infosys to save false. All right next few ones should be quickies. This next one's coming from spe-. Sped Ed pen e. I don't know. I don't know. I feel like there's probably a joke there that. I'm not getting hey, fellas. I was wondering how does your pay structure work? Okay. "Anthony Smith in between them we have some pockets where we take commercials or we cover the latest news. Are we more importantly, we take calls from you all so call in and talk about maybe you don't maybe forgot to get into the daily debate. You just want to chime in on that. Maybe you want to chime in on the latest news or still offer an opinion on the Covington who's mon- Woodley triangle there or what should what should DC do? Now that Jones kinda just went ahead and did his own thing. You know, we kept thinking his DC gonna get less than you know. Less there, by the way, has still paid two hundred fifty thousand to the Nevada State Athletic commission and around this time is win. He completes the one year sentence of the infraction. He had at UC two hundred against Marquette. He had a a one year suspension. It got put on hold. But when DC said me and Leser and all that activated itself. Again, Lessner had to basically make himself available to you Sada to show that he's cleaned. So that he can compete in that aside from that you have to pay two hundred and fifty thousand and then he can go forward with that. And if not then I guess would be the the next guy because deceit has said, so and I don't know that anybody else's more qualified, do you think he has to pay two hundred and fifty thousand or do you think he says I really liked the come back? But there's this little fine hanging out there just says we got that player. Yes. Yes. They do. So they go just go out there and pay the damn thing. And guess what have the fight? They'll be some bonus in there for you. Or you'll make it back. I mean, you know, you will make it back. I mean, really, maybe you can just say, or we just don't have you, you know. But I would think that the wants to they want to conduct a business transaction. So I don't know if they can say, we got you where the, wink, wink. But I think they'll say look man, you know, we sort this out the financial and the financial come in from a big fight that involves you guess what that two hundred and fifty will be covered. I I would think that that's how it would work. It's good to be Daniel Cormet right us just chill. And there's basically three giant fight out there waiting for you. Whatever happens happens right there. Either way you're gonna make a ton of money. Well, the listener fight is a windfall because there is a guaranteed mill paper. He's if Jones would happen that would probably go over Jones. We're getting close to a million the I know the eight hundred at that one in Anaheim would be the first one did. But I would imagine the third one would be a million steep. Not as big as those. Right. Not as big with still good. But I think Lessner is the one and. And sorry to disrespect Brock Leser here. But I think that's the easiest one as well out of meal Jones and Leser agree with Nagy that. vegas. That's fair. Although hopefully, the guy. "So who's the mayor and fights what Smith does is? He drives his hips in stretches who's demure out. Then switches to the strong side here where the choking arm was to begin with rotates over. And then what he chokes he's on the the bottom side of the choke. So his whole body is laying right where needs to at the final and the final sequence. So he just got pulled apart used it to stretch switch the side. And then made it work. It was actually a really really dominant performance. Missio one thing beer. Can you close the screening? Thank you. Let's see if we can do this the time we have remaining probably not really, no. That's a bummer. Well, all right. I didn't get a chance to go over the Patrick Cummings. We're running out of time. Anyway, we got to fix this for next time. Why is this? Keeps happening. I know why. Because there is no God. Anyway, doesn't matter. The long story short. Here is people have talked about the ground game of Anthony Smith, and why people had discounted it. Again, you're like lucre focusing all the heirs. No, I'm focusing on the fact that it was really successful. And that in that moment when someone was hand fighting he was able to write some of the wrongs that he had created from the initial entries clean them all up in the process. And then by the time, he's able to choke. The person initially hasn't wrong is able to stretch him out. Switch it and make that connection to me as to had noted. You're talking about a guy who had some nice wins some aging veterans and did it stand up. This is on the ground. We'll use a tough customer and in his prime. He got it through fatigue. Good at through a couple of entry errors corrected along the way. And got the tap, folks. That's the very finish of fight IQ. It's the very definition of heart is the very definition of alternately having the right technique and understanding what you did wrong. And ultimately. You got the win the best one of his career that lays gentleman is the Monday morning analysts..

How Likely Is Rob Gronkowski Vs. Jalen Ramsey Matchup In Patriots-Jaguars Read more at: https://nesn.com/2018/09/how-likely-is-rob-gronkowski-vs-jalen-ramsey-matchup-in-patriots-jaguars/

"A rematch of last year's AFC championship game between the patriots and the Jaguars. But this one with a hair more fireworks last year, Jacksonville, almost upset the pets before Tom Brady lit it up this here. Jalen Ramsey spent his off season criticizing players. He deemed overrated. He mentioned grunk. Interesting. Also, interesting. Jalen Ramsey seems confident heading into this week's matchup. Listen to this. Defensive coordinator. If someone says rob gronkowski is overrated, what would you say to that person? Said, he's crazy. Might be crazy. I don't care. Call him about staffer. You're, you're, you're, you're saying, you think good good now, get it supposed to eat good. But like you say, this to me is supposed to bring fear. I, I fear, no man period is good. His face all year. They got an incredible rush. Great, linebackers, great secondary. It's going to be very, very challenging, tough environment. We'll see what made up. He doesn't care any man, Chris, Kenny Noman even though it's quite a little bit of different tune than he was singing in the off season when he talked about gronk. All right, who's got the edge in this rematch the pats offense or this Jaguars defense? Can he says the pets offense just because we know what they are, the patriots gonna score points. That's just what it is. It's going to be somewhere between twenty one and twenty eight points. I think the average twenty eight point Sogame last year you saw what they did this year opening game against Texas, so we know what the patriots are. So I think this is going to be up to the Jaguars offense to be able to match points so defensively, I know that the Jaguars they're going to try to take away rob gronkowski. You saw at AFC title game. You only had one catch before you got knocked out with that concussion. But I mean they're going to have a plan to deal with rob gronkowski. It's about the other guys in Tom Brady always finds a way because that's just what he and Bill Bill to check do. But looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars, they're gonna have to find a way to be able to move the football. You saw it in that giant's game after mid. Ways that second quarter we're Linda four net got knocked out. They struggled to move the football. They had one scoring drive where they got the ball at midfield, but other than that, they weren't able to move the ball only four first downs after that drive. So I mean, that's a struggle for this Jaguars team offensively than four nets banged up. I think TJ Yeldan is a service of running back, but he's not the difference maker that four net is for that offense. So I'm going to say that the patriots have the advantage in this matchup because I don't know that the Jags offense is going to be able to match points with Tom Brady. Yeah, pats offense definitely do have the advantage, New England. They don't listen to any of the interviews that other teams do. But what I've seen through the years, especially from any defensive back that makes any type of comment about New England if they were cheating, anything that they say that might be shot at New England in the game plan. During the game. Bill Bill check will either run at that person with big Lyman are someone like gronk or they run the double move our account. Move a trick play look Bill to take advantage and make somebody look real real bad. So I expect them Jalen is going to guard gras. I expect in some of those situations. They're going to get gronk the football, but also I would spec them to run at grunk so could blonde Jalen and that's not something you don't have to be afraid, but that's something that Jalen does not want to see. He doesn't have the. I discipline was I disciplined how they see the ball, how they see elephants is in Jalen used to being outside, and he's not used to having the action in front of him, but linebacker. See, that's why when Bart Scott was here, he was talking about if you try to travel with grunk, Bella check will do some things that take advantage of thing that you're not used to seeing so huge advantage to pats offense going against a very good Jags d, Chris, to your point about if you chirp during the week, they might have a special play for you in the game plan famously I'll just go back a decade because happened to a buddy of mine. Anthony Smith.

"anthony smith" Discussed on MMA Junkie Radio

"Sunday reemphasizes this is a sunday card him and show gun doing battle in the main event all right goes what do you have for anthony smith anthony that on that same topic of legends i mean even if you go back hector lombard that has been around for a long time he was a champion another organization going forward from here would you like to have that type of matchup again with maybe somebody else or do you kind of looking more toward fresh matchups going forward definitely looking forward to to fresh matchups and honestly i'm looking forward to you know i i really believe that i'm gonna go in there and finished oga in devastating fashion and i don't want you know the whole thing killer thing is kinda cool that that's kind of the the thing that people are to me but you know eventually we're gonna wonder how am i gonna fair what the guys are closer to my age in out in my career in really looking forward to that really looking forward to getting through shogun and look at matchups with you know guys like tv an coriander saying or you know guys you know even even bulk in in and hopefully you know you rock hold justices like those are the guys that i really trying to get to you know it just have it be that i have to go through these guys to get there and it doesn't mean that thirty less dangerous no it's i really looking forward to to just starting to pick those guys in the top five key through the process of getting the phone call for this i'm sure there certain things that you have to go through can you maybe rank them one of them's got to be the location hamburg germany the opponent where you're at physically can you make the weight that sort of stuff can you kind of rank how you go through that decision process i'm gonna be a hundred percent but he got there wasn't a decision making process i say it all the time in and think that i think a lot of fighters kinda make it a kind of a cliche saying you know if i'd anyone anytime in place but really mean it when i say it and it doesn't really the names don't matter by manager called me not with a question will i fight showdown it was you're finding shokhin and three weeks in germany and i said cool so the contract and we hung up literally to phone call like that's that's how how my how my brain works tell how i managed that's how that's how we do it doesn't matter to me i literally don't care you could send a blink contract over signing it could be a surprise i don't it doesn't matter to me so there wasn't no you wanna fight him are you on we can do it i'm always ready and since i moved up to five the way the longer issue in the literally doesn't matter the set it's brock listener and i would have had the same reaction phone up it doesn't matter to me so i mean that's that's how it went you know what i'm trying to get the lincoln fight and that didn't you know it didn't pay out it wasn't look like i was going to be able to get a fight you know in my home state and this opportunity up and you know it's already pretty obvious that i've already talked about another interviews that i that i wanted to fight show gun i like the match up and you know it popped up in my manager said get will take it called me and said the other gonna send the contract and it's all right i'm staring at anthony's picture here on twitter his twitter handle by the way at my in our smith give them a follow he looks real sharp in that suit right with the glasses and he's telling the story about his manager calling and saying you're fighting or you're taking out show gun in hamburg germany three weeks doesn't sound and look like an assassin right now a little bit sticking clark kent superman goes over the contract of now he's just going in.
