I'm fifty dr knell mooney. Yeah baby i guess we all have a second year wide receiver in our list. Mine is the former fifth round. Pick out a two lane darnell mooney wide receiver for the bears. A lot of people found it difficult to watch the chicago. Bears offense last year for good reason. The quarterback situation was gross. But if you watched. There was a player darnell mooney that stood out with elite separation. He was constantly overthrown but darnold mooney actually set the franchise record for receptions for the chicago bears last year as a rookie. He was fifth among rookie wide receivers in target share seventh in total targets. Nine thousand fantasy points and had the eighth most broken tackles by any wide receiver in football. It is those are of certain numbers for a player. That is mooney wasn't fantasy relevant. No not at all no. He tried real hard to be but the ball did not land near him. Ball does lie. Yeah does lie and this was back. Rookie season was well. Acclimating to the nfl. With allen robinson on the other side fighting through atrociously bad rookie quarterback play and still ninety eight targets. No it's as a rookie. You don't realize that because so many were not to him and he was on pace. Like you know you talk. We could have countered them for other guys to pass so bad where they don't let us Credit the defender for the target. Yeah and you you. It's crazy 'cause you know you talk about. Jefferson took game three and then you talk about. Claiborne was still game three like over the second half of the year. His target pace was one hundred. Twenty for darnell mooney. The anthony miller experiment is over in chicago and targets are one of those you know things that you earn as a wide receiver. It's a skill to demand. Targets in an offense is not random when you get up to almost one hundred targets on the year and you know we looked at every wide receiver over the last decade. That saw ninety five plus targets as a rookie and what they did the year. After ninety percent of those guys had thirty six season in their future seventy six percent of them had a top twenty four season so it is an indicator of a career arc. That generally improves in doesn't decline. I think he's primed for a massive jump this year. He's virtually undrafted so the risk for your team is almost nothing. He's an elite route runner. he's been these standout if you listen to bears beat writers watching camp It's been you know like cd lamb in in dallas. It's been darnell mooney in chicago and so you know and this was a player that was eleventh and deep targets last year he just couldn't get the ball within the radius of where he was because of that that quarterback play so If you look at player profiler seven hundred thirty nine unrealized air yards so he had the potential to actually be fantasy relevant last year that was tenth and all the football so i think that this is an elite separator That just didn't have a bunch of catchable targets. I tried as hard as i could to scoop them. Up in a dynasty league from brooks. i'm accepting offers. No need to go get it like. That's the message. Gosh mike maybe he should trade him to you. Maybe have a better shot with me and you but go scoop them up and dynasty leagues. Grab the deer drafts. And then get ready for mooney to break out. I definitely think in dynasty league. I mean with allen robinson our contract year but you know he's playing on the franchise tag he could be gone and the way. The team talks about mooney. Is you could see one of those like you know the those later round. Guys who end up shocking. The team and they're like well. Let's move on from our number one. Make him the number. One that happens. And i i could see that for mooney Very easily so. I i'm excited. I'm excited for mooney. Four three eight guy ninety five percent tallahassee. I did not realize three tile. They talked about how they had the thirteenth pick of the draft and the day before the draft. "I don't i need to. I gotta draft running back for the future. Because i listen. I love the camerin Picks i mean. I didn't know i was gonna get actor. I did not think. I was gonna get or readily thought. Those guys are going to be gone. You know when. I was drafting in the fact that i got camera and and we're doing a half. P p r league. I mean i mean that's perfect. That is a perfect combination to have Obviously ecuador with injuries last year. So i'm hoping that you know that's behind him and he's doing well you know he does well this year. Compare going to be a workhorse this year. Obviously you got latavius. Murray's who's gonna take some of the pressure off of him when we need to break. Obviously but you know i you know. I'm really pleased with that. And the most important thing the takeaway from this draught the most important thing is that. I got the balanced team that i wanted. Because that is something that i have emphasized. The last couple of weeks is that. I want a balanced team like believe me. I would love to have homes on my team. I would love to have herber josh allen cuyler but the problem is i mean obviously in the redraft. We'll see if one of those guys false to me at a certain point in my draft. I'll take him. But you know when. I when i look at you know my team. I have balanced at wide receiver balanced running backs. And this is just for my starting lineup. Now the thing that worries about me. I'm worried about is injuries. Injuries stink and if one of these running backs gets injured. So i'll just go through the rest of my team. Explain why so. I got garoppolo. I got fitzpatrick to go along. With rogers and fields and i definitely do think that those are guys that can definitely generate points for me in case an injury happens So those are my quarterbacks. I do like the depth. I have a quarterback. I mean fitzpatrick i mean. This could be his last year. Who knows garoppolos definitely still going to be in the league. He might not be with the forty niners. But i think he'll definitely end up on a different team and fields. I'm hoping that that. Pick i nailed and he ends up being the next. You know cuyler the next you now. Mahomes herbert i don't think he's gonna be as good as them will will say But yeah those are the quarterbacks then drafted for my running backs carlos hyde. Melvin gordon jamal williams sony michelle joshua kelly and i think yeah gary brightwell for the giants now bright. What was really the only rookie that i took out of that class. Sony michelle is kinda funny sony michelle. I accidentally took so my laptop is a touchscreen and i accidentally meant i wanted dr joshua kelly and i ended up taking sony michelle instead and i got up. I was pretty upset about that. Because i just it was just. I'm stupid. that happened. But i i mean not to say the joshua. Kelly wasn't still going to be there. It was just annoying. I kind of wasted a pick. But i'm honestly fine with it. Gives me more adept at the running back position and joshua kelly is the backup to well him justin jackson or they're going to be the backups to and i do think that you know joshua kelly is going to you know play a role if equa doesn't get hurt so i'm not really too concerned. Well i am concerned about. Where does it hurt but You know i don't have. Justin jackson was kinda stinks. I was hoping to get him but yeah so then. This is where i loved my draft. Okay one of the spots. I really love. Just the wide receivers and tight ends. That i got so i got josh reynolds. Anthony miller dairy slayton. Jalen guyton tyler johnson and d'arno mooney lot of all. Those guys are young. All those guys are extremely young You know tyler. Johnson's a guy that you know showed flashes with tampa last year. And i do think that. You know of mike evans or even antonio brown both of those guys have one of those guys gets hurt. He's a guy that could step up and play a big role on this team. And i know that one of these wide receivers at some point is going to leave. You know it's not like all those guys are going to stay. But i mean we'll have to see but i'm anticipating that if there's an injury and while i don't think there is going to be injury but i just taller johnson is going to be a guy that's going to be productive. If somebody gets pick that i really loved darnall mooney pick because anthony miller who is also drafted is no longer on the bears and mooney is going to see an increase in targets and alan robinson. He's a guy that is not going to be on. The bears long-term so mooney could possibly be the number one wide receiver at some point. And now you couple that. With the fact that i have justin fields that could be a deadly combination that i'm hoping it does at some point during their career so i love those picks. You know for me if they do pan out. "Match against the falcons, and I've got him a fifteen you've got him a ten. This is the ultimate matchup. It really is right now about as good of a match because you could find in the NFL. Yeah. Let's start there. Seven of the past e quarterbacks to face the falcons have finished QB nine or better. Unreal. Seven out of eight have been at least Cuba nine all have been top fifteen this season. Overall, seventy eight percent of quarterbacks facing the falcons have finished top ten that is worse than the NFL by far that rate for the falcons, they have just a livered to goods for opposing quarterbacks. Look at Dak Prescott and a little closer coming off a big game against the eagles, which I won't talk about specifically. But he's been a top eight fantasy quarterback during three of his past four outings is fourteen offensive touchdowns this season only five interceptions. And again, this is a run heavy. Cowboys offense. Yes, they've been for a long time. But it's not as run heavy. As they've been in years past throwing their little bit, more balanced. It's not like Seattle, which is full on running. It's a little more balanced. So that's a good sign. So I do I think he's the streaming option for sure this week. The only reason I have my reservations running back are nothing to counter what you said, Mike because you make very reasonable points there. It's merely this first of all he's got three rushing touchdowns in his last four games. So call point seven five rushing touchdowns per game. If you were to project him for more or less than that, it would be less. It would certainly be less. Yes. Sometimes when you watch Dak he's like the most frustrating player to watch with Rover. Right. Because like he's just not the most natural throwers in the NFL. And that's a very kind way of putting not generous. He's he's not. He's not a particularly good throw over the football.
