"Gets Mitchell back. They win the next two. Speaking to Mitchell 53 49 Jazz to tend to go first half in Memphis, not of a Mitchell dribbles to the three point line, leans in and knocks it home of three for the Jazz with nine of them in the first half, they would have finished with cane. Think about it for the Utah Jazz and freeze in the first half. They would also have 18 points in the paint inside outside, they've got it covered. They had 59 total in the first half lead by five. We go to the third quarter and a couple of players come alive. One is Mitchell, another to Vertigo, Bear and Jordan Clarkson. Donovan Mitchell with tend to shoot on the ark to the free throw line on the drive, fading to his left floats ends up with Go bear. He's guarded by Valanciunas, who's fouled, Go barren, somehow got it to go in. Back to the basket. Three FT. Away, muscled it up and in through contact already go. Bear would have 13 in the third quarter alone and then their clash the Clarkson guy to 8500 minutes ago. In the third, Conley drives into traffic Hasta Bogdanovich into the corner. Clarkson for three. Yes, Jordan Clarkson with another triple 19 off the bed. Next possession. There's Conley crossing half court with three gives it to Clark's and launching a three hits it with 9/10 of a second to go in the third and the Jazz grab their biggest lead of 13. We'll be no shot at the end of the third quarter. Utah hits the century mark on a Clarkson triple. He's got 22. It would be a 13 point lead 187 for the Utah for the Utah Jazz go into the fourth quarter, our fourth quarters, a turning point of the game, right? You my my computer career training for a better life because Memphis wouldn't go away that spend their M o the entire season and even today community Anthony Melton right along that left sideline using the valanciunas stream drives floats in Up and in 12 to Memphis run down three. It's a three point game in the back Half of the turning point is Mike Connelly, the former grizzly Utah 106 Memphis 1045. 15 ago. Offensive rebound passes to the perimeter will reload. Bogdanovich. Right Corner Triple try is good with 2 38 to go Boy in Bogdanovich puts Utah up 10 17 3 pointers for the Utah Jazz in Game four. Good night, everyone Drive safely. Utah wins this one of 1 21 13, by the way, too curious to final line, according to Caesar's William Hill. "What come put give. Jesus like i'm going to click anyway. Relax house island. But then i'm like hold on. Is this best dunk. Ever and he doesn't have a ton of them. They're usually of the fast break variety. Riad there's nobody there this one at least in a little bit of traffic and like you said lee sort of celebrating while he was hanging on the rim. Am i forgetting another kyri w might be also highlights throat on this one. I mean there's not a ton that jump to mind. I think he's had three this season. Learn and that feels like it might be his career high for but yeah i like a small ago. I with the to hand throw down. I think that's great. Because you like curry's a coupla those two hasn't he he had he had the year as well but it just feels like for the smaller guys you know. Just the one hand dunk is a little bit easy to there and and throw it. Dan and a half court said like that. I mean it was. It was great. But yeah i'm trying to think of his cleveland days. I mean i don't remember him really ever dunking. Certainly not one that stood at anyway as you say maybe on fox bright with is now in there and he just doesn't easy one but this was a this was a legit dunk baseline beats the defense. I just loved it pointing as he's still coming down good time in his career. Do you think Kyrie irving has lee twenty la twenty two on the career three of them. This season everybody in brooklyn is throwing down now. Another huge dunk from blake griffin last night. Honestly it's ridiculous. At this point he was completely roping. Open it there for the pistons. I don't know. I think steve nash could play for this team. It's so easy for everybody out there. I mean we know that he's not gonna get blasted on defense because they don't really care on that part you can give them ten minutes a game. Probably get ten assists easily probabl- issue all right next next one here grayson allen. Oh yeah remember him. scored seventeen of a season. High thirty points in a dominant third quarter leading the grizzlies to the one. Thirty one. Thirteen win over the shorthanded hawks. On wednesday of tunis. He continued his dominant play at nineteen and eleven. Chris won their fourth consecutive game. Here and they've improved twenty six and twenty three and they're eight in the west. This was the team. I told you at the all star break. Watch out this team like going a bit of a second half run here If they didn't play the utah jazz may have been eleven. Straight wins at this point because i think they're eating eight victories in their last eleven games on the three of those losses coming against utah. But go ahead and great it. They're li the grizzlies playoff chances. So i'm gonna take playing tournament out of it. Because i think there lot for that and go for their playoff chances. And i'm going to say the or eight attitude what we're doing for guys very very good because you you know you mentioned the five of. They lost six one and three of those winds of being against philadelphia. Okay no impact fund but miami and then atlanta last night convincing victory no cappella in that one as well so they got a bit of a break. But that doesn't really matter. You've just gotta win these games. And on the season that twelve and fourteen against teams over five hundred so they actually do play good teams pretty well and they get contributions from a lotta guys on any given you mentioned grayson allen last not let them in scoring dillon brooks is donald a couple of valentino's jammeh ran has done at kyle anderson. The anthony melton with thirteen points. One game there was a couple of guys had thirteen but the point being that they do not lie. Jam marantz out there. Having a james harden type and just going for forty five dragged his same they do have a great contributions on the offensive and then surprisingly didn't think i would this good that defense. According to him dot com have the sixth best defensive rating in the league. We sort of that surprised me because they do seem to win a lot of games like one hundred twenty two to one hundred eighteen you know. They gave up a lot of points but they're rating suggests that they are better defensive team than perhaps the eye test. So i think in a really good spot. Of course now it's gonna come down to how teams like the spurs and the warriors i think primarily there the challenges for the playoff spot and then most likely going to finish in the plane tournament. Even though i said. I wanna take it. But i think that the grizzlies have shown they can't compete with those those teams there in the same group as those teams and good road. Victories as i mentioned just recently atlanta and philadelphia especially really figuring out ways to win. So i think they're in a really good spot off the last season i think they caught a few teams by surprise and they couldn't quite finish it off dan in the bubble. But they're better for it now and they seem to know their roles alexei. Valid genus has been very good for than this season scoring a lot and defensively being very amazing for them. Yeah he has one of the most underrated players in the league right now. I'm not even kidding. I'm not saying just because he played for the wraps he's been so good not they're missing jaren jackson junior still to. He's not forgotten about him so long since he played but i i mean i'm a big jaren jackson junior fan i think he's got the potential to be their best player. But valentinus is a major tone setter for them. That guy plays so physically and it really filters out to the rest of the team. Benches really solid defensively as well. They have figured out a nice team building strategy. Where nobody on their team is bad. That's the secret grizzlies. Everybody can play a little bit defense. Everybody can play a little bit of offense at adds up and yeah. I mean sure you would be worried about facing steph curry in the play tournament in a one game scenario bag go for fifty easily but at feels like the grizzlies are going to at least get the eight spot. That means you just gotta really win game. You gotta beat the seven seed. That'll be awesome mavericks versus grizzlies. If that's how it turns out joggers. Lucas sign me up. Yeah grizzlies have been impressive. I will say though skeets. What a like a little bit more flavor from on the off the backboard..

steve nash Chris thirteen six Kyrie irving Thirteen james harden fifty donald Jam marantz brooklyn anthony melton twelve blake griffin one hundred five sixth thirty points three seventeen

"The first one is the score may jump out at ninety four ninety two. Yeah it was. It was a defensive minded game. Anthony melton actually had a wicket block on anthony davis and then dumped. It punched one home on the other end with about six minutes remaining it. That's what it looked like. The grizzlies might win this game. But you didn't think that if you saw the game prior because this was another miniseries where the lakers had just played the grizzlies two nights prior. I guess it was on sunday night. And in that one which i watched lebron just took over he literally just decided. Okay games close. I'm going to start to try now. And i'm just gonna stamp on this game. We'll get the victory. He sort of did it again last night. I mean it was. It was the same movie it really really was. La trailed seventy nine seventy seven with both five minutes ago and then lebron got some help in this one. They went on a combined nine to run they had the lead and they held on for dear life at the really well at the end with some crazy turnovers but lebron i mean it's it's wild to watch a guy coasting through games and now his version of coasting is still damn impressive but a really is. I'm not exaggerating the lakers. As a team are doing this. And i don't know if it's going to come back to bite them in the ass but it's pretty amazing to watch them sort of just half asset for two to three quarters and then turn it on when they need to. Did you see any resemblance to the lebron toe to lebron they last night because it felt like that to me where he knows. He's going to win the gate but some of the shots he hit as well. You know just is crazy. Sort of full aways setbacks that like just go perfectly through the net as well it was kind of like he was just toying with them and I think a part of it was dillon. Brooks had that little show is strength there with lebron where he got the ball. Lebron on his butt and dillon brooks landed in got the foul and he did the big flex and this also reminds me a little bit of like the last dance where we saw michael jordan sometimes needed anything just to motivate him. Well here we are on. A tuesday nodded january and lebron memphis. He knows he can win this game. And it was almost like thank you. Thank you dylan brooklyn. Giving me just that little bit of like all right now. I have to show this guy because you saw lighter on as well when he hit that crazy full away he drop the to. Yeah i don't know if you saw it as well on a play early lebron's blowing kisses to the memphis benches. Well i did see him so he was kind of. I think that's what it was last night. He's like. I have to win this game. But someone give me reason he'd of rier up. Right and dillon brooks did that. I was because it is just so much fun. When you see lebron just get into that rhythm where he's like okay. Thanks for coming guys now going to win this game And it's good not great memphis anything from this way well. I didn't watch this one very closely. I did see a fast break. Where grayson allen. Just kind of tipped the ball. The onus val and tunis running down the middle of the lane he finished with a very slow lap and it may be misplanned. Pick up all. This would have been the biggest highlight from any game on a wednesday night if we were out there playing. But you look at the box scores. And it's just how much the lakers are in foot. The switch mode this season every one of their starters except for dennis schroder who is a minus one has massive plus minus splits for last night whereas the bench was struggling. And that's the difference. There once the lakers put in their starting lineup. The game's going to be over because lebron eighty know exactly what they need to do to get a win in a scenario against the grizzlies. It's not necessarily needing to play one hundred percent strength the entire night. We worried about the lakers. Taking games off last season coming in you know because we're like lebron. He knows his body. The guy manages the season as well as anybody does. That wasn't the case for last season. The lakers one hundred percent locked in. We're winning the title from day one. This year they came and they said we already got the title. We had to play seventy five days ago. So let's take you a little chill this year. Turn it on when we need to their preserving themselves by load managing during games. Lebron's quarterbacking out there. The guy doesn't put in the effort until he needs to score and it's fine because he knows exactly what to do. Impressive stuff from the lakers. They're not even trying hard. And they're the best team in the west and the grizzlies are of course playing with other two. Best players and drama jackson to your. They put up a fight. I mean it's nice to have molten back. What do they call mr do. Something i think is his nickname. Which is a fascinating nickname. But he does a little bit of everything he he was helping of. Course stay in this game and give them a lead late in. They thought they put up a valiant effort but it was a little big brother little brother scenario there. It's like okay this little too close here. I'm just gonna pull out this victory. what are you gonna do. Yeah you're right lebron's load managing during games and we talked about it. I think a big part of it is like. Hey i could take the night off. I could just take the night off. But i play rack up. Twenty to twenty five points. That's going to help in the total accumulation of catching kareem abdul-jabbar for the most points. Why not that's what he's doing. It's really astonishing. Totally jumper is money enough. Now that he can hang out on the perimeter threes at a high enough rate. He can these follow as at a high enough rate that he can just hang out on the perimeter not take a million bumps yep pick teams apart like remembering the bubble watching him. Take apart zones from miami this. It's similar stuff on the bronze just out there. Like moving people around with his is that feels like until there's a split second where he can fit a passan. That's why is one of the ghosts. I sure final game. From last night spurs stop a four game skid one sixteen. Thirteen victory over the clippers. We sort of alluded to this one. Crazy crazy spurs up a massive amount. The clippers have been playing in weird games this year. Man they are either thirty or down. Thirty feels like in every single game. They've played but came back. But in the end. I pulled out anything to take away from this one year. Ozzy mate putting se when this is nato we and who'd is coach. Popovich go to patty thrills..

"He gives them some muscle inside. He's got an edge to he's not afraid to go at NB gone. Russell westbrook. Iman shumpert. It's it's a tough blow your buddies Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley two weeks ago. Both predicted there. That's at the time that Portland was going to be in the NBA finals or not nurse. I don't think out the I no, no, no, no. And he he may have a problem with the sport he has chosen because he broke the other leg couple years ago. You're in the business of breaking your legs in basketball. It's what did you? Tell me is father his father is a four hundred pound police officer in Bosnia. Yeah. I wanna see you mess with a tough guy. So I mean, I don't think they have any what strikes me whenever you see video like this Gordon Hayward had this soldier George had this Alex Smith has this right now Redskins quarterback. He's not gonna be back next year. When is men went down, however, many years ago that was and Lawrence Taylor is going like this get a doctrine here because the bone sticking through the guy's skin at that point other players when you see them turn away. You know, how serious this is. And they're thinking themselves my God, this could have been me as well. That is that is the surest sign that something desperately has gone wrong. And I don't I I don't know their team is no team has built to a stand something like this heading into playoffs in three weeks. Yeah. Now, I think he can come back injury. In fact, he had surgery today. No nerve damage muscle damage coming back. This news. Not by the way. Paul George was at two hundred fifty seven days he came back late in the season knowing that he was gonna play about a month and heading to another season. So who knows when there could be more than Hayward is back this year. Yeah. Most people think he'll be better next here. So it's cold. It's a three year. Paul, George and all right. The Utah Jazz couldn't stop Devon Booker from scoring fifty nine points. But the jazz went out of their way to prevent Booker from getting sixty Utah on technically your guy, the Anthony Melton in the closing. Second Booker a chance for sixty are. "It was an unbelievable weekend for the Steve. So let's get to the hoops and the blue it has been a great start to weekend. Whoops. These this season this weekend was this bad year. Getting worse your travel in two guys run into each other. A right there cash darn. Same game. It will stick with the Suns. Unfortunately, the Anthony Melton. He's going to fall here. Going baseline buddy gets the bowl. Since play here. Nice past eaten. Yeah. This sort of sums up the sons here very nicely. Nice from marina and. Brooke Lopez's he shoots threes. Now, his nickname splash mountain. That's why this too is a little off. Get outside the line man Lille. Short splash hill. Ben Simmons with the. Sort of ugly turnovers thrown into nobody. But it's Joel embiid's reaction to. Be watching that went on film later. Chris Paul is going to nudge reporter Dana Larsen about one thousand times on the shoulder here. Excuse me. I've got a routine year at the stanchion get. Get. Got to be right by excuse me. No this wrong spot check out behind. It's not just Chris Paul in this clip, the Andrea Georgia. Wow. So when they got their first point midway through the first they went nuts. Love. Crazy. They went crazy. Well, you know, why you're bad because you're giving up shots like this. This is nuts. It was a fifty six point loss. So the Celtics are their lap around the burn pile. John goal is gonna check it at the end of the game on the weekend. High five and everybody on the way out including you'd space. Yeah. He sure did who's had either. Lebron loves the the moxie here from land students and trying to dunk it from ten feet away. Unbelievable. Try not to laugh when you line up for a free throw. It's a battle. And that's why Blake is ready for this one. It was just the first free throw. He was ready to roll. And finally, we go to the NBL down in Australia for a classic Joyner. Oh, yeah. We'll run that back. All. Lord side on that keeping an eye on the ball. And luckily, she took it in the forehead. "Two point four that minimum that he's going to get in Phoenix, we have speculated it might be the room exception, but apparently they held out for just to the vet minimum instead redes-. Interesting. I think he's showing a little bit, you know, in terms of the ability just they do have cruncher on the wing. Now, obviously with all the guys they had their of anybody wants to claim it. I mean, it was the number thirty to pick it just last year. He was was guaranteed fully for this year, nine guarantee next year and then non-guaranteed team option the after that. But that means that you have to have cap space to sign him. An exception because you can use the tree orchards. But you can't use Orlando. I think Orlando could claim both of these guys. I, the Shaikh Harrison makes more sense because they need a point guard in the worst way. But I mean, what I'd rather have devan read than drill Morton. Yes, and they still have the offered Peyton trade exception which can be broken up into pieces on waiver claims if they want your Harrison of another guy who again, his contract was too long to just be claimed by anyone with the minimum exception because is a three year deal. Chicago, certainly, I think, could be interested in Harrison, especially because they have nobody who could play any defense on the second unit. I think he he could probably be an upgrade on Camus solving the pieces. And he's still, you know, is not really an MBA type offense player, but he plays really good defense plays really Harding's good culture guy. So I, I would consider going after both of those guys if are some teams that are just trying to get some developmental guys that in there. So yeah, I mean, I guess what does this mean? Well, probably we're going to see a lot more Devon Booker. Point guard. Maybe the thought was that since this would augur that Booker is gonna play in the first game and be healthy. They felt like with Booker healthy as well. And then they're gonna sign Crawford yell. He didn't need Harrison anymore, and they just drafted Elliott Kobo. But you know, Harrison actually started over a Cobra even in summer league amazingly enough. They also got the Anthony Melton as well. They and they also kept is Ahah cannon who provides a much-needed shooting, you know, is it okay fit next to Booker? At least offensively if they're just going to put the ball in with all this seems to show that they're going to be putting the on booker's hands a lot, James harden style, and it just it's hard to play Harrison. I don't think he's close to an MBA quality starter, so it's not that much of a travesty. It just kind of weird and remember to read previous administration, Ryan mcdonagh, that's who drafted him. And so now that mcdonagh's out, it's easier to kinda get rid of some of the sunk costs where you know if we're still there, I'm guessing read probably wouldn't have gotten who we got next there. Yeah. Kristaps Porzingis did not agree to an extension and one of those weird things that front office type sometime say about. Basically like that's got Perry said you have to ask porzingus if he's happy or unhappy about that, and I don't know how about you genders at use that freeze ever in an interview, you know, like you could just say something like, oh, you know, I'm not sure how he feels about it or find some other way to office because it just sounds like so confrontational owa you're going to have to ask him about that. It's like, okay, now you're just ensuring that they're going to go, ask him about it. You know, like he's not gonna appreciate that. So, but they're obviously are cap reasons of for them not wanting to extend him right away here. Yeah, I mean, they need to keep as much space as possible and they're even more kind of tied in now with stretching Noah, that they kind of have an understanding of how much base they're going to have. And then quickly just reiterate that zinc asus capital d- seventeen point one million next off season. And if he got a MAC section, which you know he wants that would start at twenty seven million next offseason. So that would cost them ten million room in their basically right on the borderline right now being able to fit in depending on where the cat falls, the ten plus your max, which would start at a thirty eight million next year..

There's no doubt about the Anthony Melton also on this list. Sure. Quite peculiar, which will be the most improved. The Los Angeles Lakers one. This. Going away. Yeah, agreed. Yeah, same last year. This should have been one like one hundred percent rather. Democracy to Golden State thirty, five percent, third, smooth, third, yeah, Leonard Damara Rosen, trade twenty. Nine percent. Definitely surprising for sure. Yeah, Paul, George staying in Oklahoma City also super surprising. Honestly, that might surprise me more than boogie Golden State at George Atta there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's more than fair. Jimmy, Butler trade request to people voted for. That wasn't all that surprising. Surprise me, none. Absolutely. LeBron to LA got a vote that wasn't that surprising to me, the Andre, Jordan Dallas. I mean, he literally already signed there before, like, I don't know how that was rising. Both those like two three. Those are probably just will know within the industry led to your. Yeah, and we're Carmella was like, he's not gonna be on the thunder next year. So he's. Somewhere. I just don't know if you'll get the time man posted today. They had four centers out there. I. I don't know. I just don't think I don't think get the touches. I think he's going to be playing all five positions. He's going getting maybe too many touches. Oh boy, he's twenty six shots night. Which rookie will be the best player in five years. Last year, they said Josh Jackson, obviously, we don't know yet who was five years pull up five years because yeah, let's see. It was a twenty thirteen fourteen I'm scared to look at it. "So it was really more more than anything for me a reminder that I should be thinking about that Jato question. I mean you're talking about, you know, earlier this summer, Paul, George Johnny operation to he looked great in Cumulus stuff in Vegas. I was there in song the final offend tacit, you know, Westbrook participate in that some. But yeah, it's just it's just something to monitor when guys get in their thirties, you know, every time you get caught open, you know, that's that's something to pay attention to. You know, there's also staying his kind of. The kind of the old phrase, their social thing is minor surgery. It happens to you, but it's really just there's a minor surgery period begin cut open. It's something to pay attention to, and you know, I'm certainly hoping that Russell west comes back in just fine. But you know, it is something monitor when you have a guy that every penalty relentless tide that many procedures done on his knee. At this point, we can go to Phoenix another injury thing. Devin Booker recently underwent surgery. He had an issue with his right hand that had a six week timeline from when the surgery occurred, which would if it were rigid and injury, projection time should never be considered that way. That would be the night of their third regular season game incidentally, also against the warriors. And so with Booker, there are these weird questions about what the Suns are, what they're playing for this year. But Devin Booker is in an integral part in whatever they do. So again, the ideas you wanna make sure that he's right before everything starts and something that Bobby March brought up. Is that Booker. Does have an escalating part in his contract if he gets basically, if you qualify for a designated rookie situation and it's not so much busy, three games if that's really what ends up being. But if this becomes more of a lingering thing than it lowers the likelihood of that, and so that would theoretically take some money off the table for him. But I think in many ways, the more important part is Devon Booker is so important to the offense and anytime he either misses or isn't right, is important for them. Yeah. I mean, you look at the way son's, have you know, kind of diagram their off-season. It certainly looks like yorker Gorshkov. The new coach in Phoenix is going to basically turn us Devon Booker. As you know what of Mitchell was for the jazz last year, which aims hardened was for the for the rockets last couple years and really be like, hey, you know that your team go from the team and be the point guard and had the ball in your hands at all times. Right? So if you're if you're gonna if you're gonna play him extra shot care center or one of these other guys essentially have him be the guy. I don't really. Have another proven point guard on the roster. You know, it's a pretty big loss, not have him not only not in around the start of the season, but also not have him around for the entire preseason. You're talking about a new coach on a Team, New players trying to get a new system in place, and you don't have your full KOMO your offense of Anibal for, you know, at least the first month of the, you know, the entire preseason. That's a big blow to them. And you know, it is kinda weird that this happened now Booker was having issues with this and on all the way back to March there. I haven't really gotten an explanation as to why it had to happen now. I know there was some kind of swelling recently, but the timing of that seemed odd that you wouldn't just get it done sooner, but that being said, you know, now we'll see what the sons do. I know they really like Elliott Kobo there. The thirty first pick in this year's draft. Checkers started every game and summer league, which in ebor is new coach was coaching. So not surprised we'd off their descend the offense to hand out the Anthony Melton who had just picked up in the Phoenix trade are in Ryan. Trey should say, who who could maybe step in place minutes for them right away. You know, they've got, they've got some to figure out, but obviously, the biggest thing, like you said is that the guy who really.

"We see we see what happened. Rudy, go beer, Russell Westbrook, and you could definitely help a team that's trying to consent for championship, but boggles my Rudy Gobert. You didn't have one. He actually, he could definitely average almost two blocks. Yeah, they're going to his mind to it. I'm sure they're going to run a small ball team where he's at the five. And that's that's gonna lead in four year old yada. Danny green kuwa- Leonard as the wings that that defensively, Larry, Larry, LARs. So that same defensively is going to definitely be there. Yes, searched could up his defense a little bit more because we've seen him be one of the more elite shot blockers in the league. We need to bring back surgery Eat block. a lot together do. Yeah. I had lower on my list. I actually thought I wanted to see him be a twenty point score. This season, Kyle Lowry market calories. Like two episodes go, you lay. They calories that guy. That's what you said. He could still be a twenty point score. He has has to be this year. You Dickey has to be because last year they're very successful Mavericks at sixteen and of coming in and do tomorrow. I'm sure. Yeah, he can make up those points so he doesn't have to. But I mean, I mean, yes, it would definitely benefit a year older, Fred heavily is a year older. To be defensively really good. They were really, they're pretty good last year. They They were were one one of of those those tapes. tapes. Yeah. Yeah. My second do Devon Booker. I want the thing I got famous to solidify want him to solidify himself as a guy who can be a franchise player. Hard was traded to the rockets, whatever. We didn't know he was a franchise player, a guy that could be the best player on contending team right Devon Booker to awry. Every holiday, these players have those moments of arrival. And I feel like Devon Booker had a good season last year, twenty five, four and four almost five or six, which is outstanding for him. And I want to see him make that leap and have that arrival. Especially when I just found out that, you know, we all find out after the tray happened, the sons, you know, they were going for liver Rougier so they they trying to, you know button, not they shirt get big, get busy on us. So with that finally took him twelve years. Oh, and you just got the first overall pick they trying to get serious. So they need him to be like, you know, a guy that says, look, I'm that dude, y'all build around and I'm gonna take you out of, we all need to be. Well, that's right. Definitely. Solidifies him as DP for them. Jay. Got, no, no. I mean, the Anthony Melton, but they not starting him and then the other guy they drafted, but I'm sure they not having him start at PG. So. Devon Booker, Josh Jackson, Trevor REEs a TJ Warren, and the odds are Aden's probably gonna be their starting five. It's not too bad, not too bad. All their wing players in a change of you could Switzerland so much stuff off ball screens because they're all very lengthy and pretty solid defenders. The line of them I want to know who I'm going to bench who's going to be that sitting Ryan in they report their Ryan, the sons having tensions on making Ryan. It's an starting four. So. I guess. So he's at least valuable out of the three that the wing players the deal would be would Booker Reza sees a who had like I would rather have TJ. We're coming off the manager six, really? He such nineteen last year. He ain't here. He'd better scored in the six minutes to do, and he has. Sparky score. He's he got a very old school game. The very old school game. I think my is just come up and just I think they should just haven't come off the bench man. Just have them come off the bench. I mean, they still experiment who's your backups. I'll Tyson Chandler still there. Yeah, just haven't come off the bench that play Tyson Chandler. There haven't worked. My next guy was Christmas making all star team. Baby is definitely in the realm of possibility..

But for whatever reason, NBA fans just aren't taking this team seriously, and I think they are big time threat in large part because they have continuity. You know, you look at that Golden State team. Yeah. They added Durant to a seventy three win team, which is just silly. It's cheek code, right? But that nucleus of curry Draymond Klay Thompson, Agee. They've been together a while. They've grown together. They've learned how to win together. They've been through the wars. They have trust, they have connectedness. They have all the things that come from experiential losses, and that's a really big deal. And so now you take this young Utah team who's got a Donovan Mitchell piece. That personally, if you're buying stock in future great players, the human he is makes me. To go really long on his staff coupled with the fact that what he did is a rookie was almost unparalleled in many ways. By almost anybody is position, you take his growth and development. You take Dante Exum getting healthier his growth and development. You take Rubio having another year with Quin Snyder and Quinn having another year to figure out how to make all those pieces. Were you take the fact that they can be really big and throw a wrinkle at a theme might Golden State. You take all that into account and you. You sprinkle in the fact that they're stifling defensively against good teams. How the hell do we not love the Utah Jazz? I, I just don't get it yet. I absolutely agree with you there and I don't know. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I mean they're record think they were eleven and sixteen or something without go bear. And the record with Gobert at would have projected out to, I would have to go look it up and I don't want to get it wrong, but I'm sure it's in the high fifties to threatening. Sixty wins, and you know this team night in night out when healthy and look, it's a pretty big caveat right in being go bear and Rubio of both had their injury issues over the years favors has had his injury issues, but if you assume health for the jazz. Yeah, they've got everything it takes and you know they're going to be there defensively night in night out an offense. They should only be getting better with some of those young pieces. You mention, are you kind of alluded to the script but you or you you were right in the zone of saying they were the second best team. Are they possibly the second best team in the west with Houston, potentially taking a step back? Oh, I think they are for me, they're, they're the team. I look at it the second best team, the wet, and I know in terms of Houston, that seems absurd. I'm actually one of those people along with Daryl Morey unsure who believes that the Anthony Melton by way of example, can be a really significant defensive piece for them, but he can't be too significant defensive pieces for them and he can't be. Veteran voice in the locker room and what they lost in a reason by Mugabe and their ability to actually put their best defensive lineups on the court for the preponderance of the regular season in the Western Conference. That makes a really, really big deal in your seating, which then make the big deal in your ability to continue to win rounds of the playoffs. I mean, if you look at Rubio's injuries, so before he hurts the left handy games to through gains five against Oklahoma City. He averages basically eighteen points nine, assists the nine rebounds give or take, and Russ while Ricky is playing, shoots forty, three percents, thirty, nine percent twenty nine percent thirty seven percent. They end up winning the series. They play one game without him they win because okay, see was basically Schick shipwrecked emotionally at that point. So they go onto the Houston series and Chris, Paul just dominate Utah. Well, that doesn't happen if Ricky Rubio on the court, and I really. Think we just have completely because Ricky has that period of time in Minnesota where you really didn't know what he was that he had injury issues and they didn't win making lose sight of the fact that like Marcus smart. But with more prolific statistics, the do the straight up winner and I just don't think people talk about that enough..

"If I were grading on how much better they got would be giving them either like an a minus or a b. plus probably. But I give them a b minus because getting Paul George back on a three plus one awesome for the franchise. But the groundwork of that was laid before this offseason they didn't have to do any big signings. Ernie trades. This wasn't like acquiring Carmelo Anthony, which encouraged Russell Westbrook to sign a designated veteran extensions wasn't a circumstance like that at all. So that was a nice thing they did before it worked out beautifully San personally. I have given credit there, but that doesn't count in countering to the season, the grades. So then you have these different factors here. So newest. Well, Raymond Felton for the minimum. I like both of those things on giving neurons a player option second year. That's fine if you get him at the minimum, if that's what it takes cool. I liked that they bought the home, dude, yellow pick. Even though I like the Anthony Melton better than the ELO getting picked for very little is is good. They might have given up a second. I actually don't know the specific terms, but the big demerit, the reason why it's not even like an air or anything like that is because of Dennis Schroder, and that is a lot of money to commit to a player who is a questionable fit on and off the floor who nobody wanted, who is very, very eminently available over the last little while they treated him like an asset when nobody else did. And my general assumption when that happens in their times. Well, there are lots of times when I'm wrong is that every the wisdom of crowds is that if nobody else wanted shooter and this team did that as great as the as it is job that he is not smarter than everybody else combined. And so for me, that's a big negative. I think they overpaid Jeremy grant something I hadn't. Thought about until Kevin pelton mentioned it on my show on real radio last week was their probably starting Jeremy grant, which actually freaked me out a little bit. I hadn't even really thought about it and it's just a lot of money for him. They, you know, it's a very player friendly deal and then they, they kind of threw a lot at the wall with TLC Nater Diablo and we'll see what happens with other two second round picks. And I don't think any of those guys have that like real high upside. And while I'm fine going after twos and threes. Okay. See has shown that they can get a lot out of veteran minimum contracts. And so I think throwing a lot of spots at those guys would be good for a lot of teams. But when you consider the stakes and what they can get for the minimum actually think they could have done better, would you rather stretched mellow or made this hawks trade where they gave up that lottery protected twenty twenty two first rounder and got back through making fifteen point five over the next three years. I probably would have rather strict mellow than got intruder even if I didn't have to give up anything so Atika for Trump adding a first round pick really does now, because sure getting him, you know, can think of..

"Allah the anthony melton to me he's a guy great fit and houston 'cause we talk about patrick beverley type of guy i mean this is a guy that can do everything well he's i mean he's the guy that can play alongside a big lead guard and defend very very very tough on the point of attack that's what patrick beverley did for james harden for years and was very very effective doing it i think the andre melton has a anthony melton has a a more diverse office again the patrick beverley i think he can do just about everything except shoot and he's a terrible shooter but playing alongside jay was hardened and playing with the guys in houston he's really not gonna need to shoot they if they have a guy that can be a secondary ball handler and defend the point of attack really really really well keep project says a top tier nba defender he's a guy that the lot allot people thought the hawks looking at for nineteen and even even leading up to the draft even draft night when the hawks are going nineteen and you're thinking about hell k here's the three or four guys the hawks may take right here melton was one of those three or four guys that you had thought about so to get i really i guess teams just really concerned about a shooting ability the game was is is about shooting now if you can't if you can't shoot it's hard to stay on the floor i mean melton is young player and really only players so you think he actually has a chance that being the best permitted defender class yeah yes i mean he may be the best defender in this class may be the best wing defender this class you know he has a chance like i said to be top tier nba defender and maybe an nba player to me and you know what it he's still very young in his basketball career in terms of his development so his shooting you can't shoot and maybe maybe we were seeing plenty players come into the nba and obvious she'll lick and the become a adequate primitive shooter at least to the point where they can punish the help defense just totally banning them to give help the rammer something like that so melton i could see him dropping early second round but shopping all waited forty six and then i don't think you could ask for a better fit that houston for him alantic spot at risk of losing my second choice the talk about nevertheless they talk about why i know you're going to choose shake milton so i'm not gonna choose them i'll go i'll go kyri thomas i think that was a really good pick for detroit i think it might start their next year at the two was just because detroit's a mass but you're you're dressing a wing wing defense which is something very much need is very important in this league and he was someone i dug into quite a bit prior to the draft and he gets the label of a point of attack defender but i really think he's going to be able to utilize his shot at the at the nba level to nano not a one dimensional player whereas maybe that's what melton is at this point so so i like that for them if you can if you can get a starter at the thirty eighth overall pick that's a that's a boon for for detroit who who traded from i don't remember the exact details of of that trade but i'm suing they didn't have to give up much for that because philidelphia had a million picks and we're just kind of trying to get off of them and move those to the future so i'll say i'll say carry thomas was was probably one of the more interesting pixes i thought he could have gone in the twenties and ended up going thirty eight there's a lot of other bigger droppers in that and melton and bates job and and milton shake milton but that was that was a drop for me too and i think that's a player who's going to be able to play right away next and also i think you already see the benefit of a coach not running the front office because three picks later they got bruce brown from miami who i think is also gonna be a solid rotational guard so they were really short on the wing with and they run a.
